  7. enjoy this week's message. Would you tell the

  8. Lord thank you one more time for that? Thank

  9. you, Jesus. Thank you for your love. Thank you

  10. for your provision. You know, Valina texted me

  11. yesterday. I was out on my little riding lawnmower

  12. and I got a little text. The lawnmower is my

  13. happy place as long as it's a riding lawnmower

  14. with the lawns that we have. And it's a place

  15. where I go out to pray. to think. And it's the

  16. one place where I can actually see something

  17. get done. You know, sometimes in pastoring, you're

  18. on the long perspective. And so watching the

  19. grass get cut and things move from one height

  20. to another is a blessing. And she texts me and

  21. she goes, man, I'm really feeling this word about

  22. the cloud, the size of a man's hand and faith

  23. and provision coming. I said, well, it's really

  24. important. I said, pray on it. I think you're

  25. hearing the word of the Lord. And I just want

  26. to second that. I felt like the Lord spoke something

  27. as she was doing what she was doing, which was

  28. incredible, just leading the congregation to

  29. press in and to believe God that the drought

  30. or the limitation or whatever's been keeping

  31. your eyes from What's on the other side and the

  32. provision that's available. We have to begin

  33. to do what Elijah did. There is a time for praying

  34. and birthing. And I'm not going to go into a

  35. message this morning on that. But he got into

  36. a birth stool position. He got into a Holy Ghost,

  37. what I call a Holy Ghost crunch. bearing down,

  38. praying with fervency and earnestness. And that's

  39. what we were talking about. He was stretched

  40. out in his spirit man, but he was bearing down,

  41. praying that God would break the brass heavens

  42. that had locked up the nation because of sin

  43. and things. And when he saw after the seventh

  44. time, He had to get past all the sixth time,

  45. which represents the works of man. He had to

  46. get past number five that represents grace and

  47. get past the understanding of sometimes with

  48. grace, God does things in abundance, but I have

  49. to begin to press through and partner with him.

  50. There's a lot in that, but he had to move past

  51. all of the times. It was grace that was enabling

  52. him to actually pray the persistence until he

  53. saw. The key is, can you now this morning receive

  54. what's in the room from the Lord and begin to

  55. see something different than what's kept it locked

  56. up? So I heard the Lord speak to me on the front

  57. row. I was in the midst of trying to receive

  58. something and I was hearing him ask me the question,

  59. he goes, what can you see beyond the wall? That's

  60. what he asked for me. What can you see beyond

  61. the wall? Now we know the steel is in the ground

  62. for just this project. Now the digging of the

  63. trenches and The tiebacks that are slowly going

  64. in. The question is, do you still have the iron

  65. curtain up in front of your eyes or do you see

  66. beyond what the next steps are? Do you see what's

  67. coming? Do you see the reign of heaven? Do you

  68. see the next things that must be prayed through?

  69. heard and call to me so that I can tell you,

  70. or are you going to stay capped and just waiting

  71. in this season? You've got to now fill your,

  72. if I could say it carefully, fill the womb of

  73. your spirit with vision from heaven. Amen. Amen.

  74. And so I'm just encouraging you where you're

  75. at. I know there's some businesses, some businessmen

  76. and women here. I know there's some areas that

  77. finances, not only for business have been locked

  78. up, but there's also people here that you feel

  79. absolutely trapped by the debt you've been calling

  80. out for God. I believe there is a cloud rising.

  81. Now it may be small, but the issue is you've

  82. got to begin to see it and begin to ask, begin

  83. to call it forth and begin to run. As soon as,

  84. Valina said in this meeting this morning. She

  85. goes, as soon as he saw the cloud, he began to

  86. run. And I heard the Holy Spirit say, Habakkuk

  87. chapter, but I think it's two, write the vision

  88. and make it plain that he who runs may run with

  89. it. It was that clear. God is trying to write

  90. a fresh. vision on your heart. Don't stay in

  91. the atmosphere of famine. Even though you're

  92. there right now, don't stay there in your heart.

  93. See what God is saying. Amen? You receive that?

  94. All right. Keep going. You're doing good. I want

  95. to review just a little bit, but I'm reviewing

  96. within with a point because it is Palm Sunday.

  97. Next week, I mean, it just seems, I just felt

  98. like we just celebrated Christmas. This whole

  99. next week will be part of me just studying for

  100. the theme of what the team has decided. And I

  101. was part of that decision, but I don't remember

  102. what my part was. But I know we've got a theme

  103. here and I'll be preparing a message for that

  104. this week. But as I was thinking about this week

  105. and thinking about what we talked about last

  106. week in regard to Jesus being stretched out in

  107. the Garden of Gethsemane, fervently praying about

  108. the church in Acts chapter 13, fervently praying

    Acts 13 chapter mention

  109. to release Peter after they had lost James. And

  110. we started with this verse, 1 Peter 4, 7 through

  111. 11. It says, the end of all things is at hand.

  112. Therefore, be self -controlled and be sober -minded

  113. for the sake of your prayers. We talked about

  114. those two words, sober -minded and self -controlled.

  115. Above all, can we say that? Above all. One more

  116. time. Above all. Keep loving one another earnestly.

  117. That word, the King James says it's fervently.

  118. Since love covers a multitude of sin, show hospitality

  119. to one another without grumbling. As each has

  120. received a gift, use it to serve one another

  121. as good stewards of God's varied grace. Or another

  122. word. has his multifaceted, multicolored, manifold

  123. grace. Be good stewards of it. We're talking

  124. about the something more church and we're talking

  125. about how Jesus, if we're gonna be that church

  126. that he does the something more through, positioning

  127. ourselves to have the heart of the king. The

  128. main heart of the king is what? Being a servant.

  129. And just for sake of review, our last point before

  130. we went to 1 Peter 4 was this. Jesus never bypassed

  131. the little day -to -day things for the big cross

  132. experience. Now listen, we're going to be celebrating

  133. today the big cross experience. And next Sunday,

  134. the cross and the resurrection. And we should

  135. always do that here in the house of God. But

  136. the power of serving in both prayer and stewardship

  137. of serving in love is what Jesus demonstrated

  138. to us. I'd like you, if you would, to turn in

  139. your Bibles to Psalms 118. We're going to get

  140. there. In Jesus' name. Psalm 118. And talk, as

  141. Peter was saying this about fervent prayer, fervent

  142. love, fervent above all else, that being stretched

  143. out, that idea of, are you doing okay? Just,

  144. you're doing really good. That idea of just allowing

  145. yourself to grab on to the very theme of the

  146. heart of God and allow yourself to be pushed

  147. or stretched beyond the boundaries of how you

  148. would normally love. Every one of us as people

  149. have boundaries. You may not. Even people that

  150. don't have boundaries have boundaries. But there

  151. always seems to be a marker. Of what you think

  152. you're willing to give. And the Lord is constantly

  153. in this verse here, above all. Above all means

  154. go further than what you would normally do. So

  155. when we think about Jesus, he was the supreme

  156. example. He went further than what people would

  157. have normally done. Everything about his life,

  158. everything about, as we get ready here to celebrate

  159. today as Palm Sunday, everything that he did

  160. went further than people's expectation, their

  161. demands, and he constantly lived to please the

  162. Father, stretched out in his love, stretched

  163. out in his prayer, stretched out in his will.

  164. That he would honor the Father. Jesus rejected

  165. powerful ministries presented by Satan. We read

  166. about him in Luke chapter 4. Matthew 4 as well.

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  167. He was tempted with fame. He was tempted with

  168. power. And all that comes with it in the natural.

  169. And he chose to be filled and anointed. With

  170. the Holy Spirit, God anointed him because of

  171. his choice to choose the Father. And every stage,

  172. the anointing came to be yielded to the will

  173. of being stretched out to the Father's purpose.

  174. The anointing came on him. The Spirit of God

  175. came on him when he came out of the waters of

  176. baptism. But the anointing had to be tested with

  177. character. It's a big deal. A lot of people receive

  178. the anointing, but it doesn't stay on them genuinely.

  179. They can pervert the anointing. Why? Because

  180. they won't allow the depth of their character

  181. to actually be yielded to the stretching out

  182. of Christ. And so what do they do? They yield

  183. to various temptations of fame, of power. Of

  184. an easier route to go in the flesh than the route

  185. of the narrow way that the father asks of them.

  186. It was the anointing on Jesus that caused him

  187. to yield to the direction of the Lord over every

  188. other avenue and path. Jesus, we could put this

  189. up here. Jesus rejected the sensational. He rejected

  190. the speedy. And he rejected the spectacular.

  191. Everything that Satan offered in his way. Notice

  192. the three temptations. I'm not going to dive

  193. into the deep temptations of the Lord because

  194. there's so much there. But turn these stones

  195. into bread, right? Come, I'll show you the nations

  196. and the world. Just worship me. Just bow your

  197. knee in homage and recognize that I have been

  198. given authority and I'll give it to you. Or just,

  199. just come on. The angels will bear you up. Come

  200. on, just, just, you're hungry. Make this work,

  201. the fame, they'll know you. He rejected the sensational.

  202. He rejected the spectacular and the speedy. Meaning

  203. what? There's a quicker way to get this done.

  204. If you'll just do it my way, you'll just put

  205. yourself on Facebook and Instagram. If you'll

  206. just market yourself. If you'll just. go do what

  207. the marketplace says you should do about your

  208. ministry, then you could do it quicker. This

  209. whole moving from place to place and city to

  210. city, just as you're drawing a crowd, isn't working

  211. real well. Listen, Jesus rejected every avenue

  212. that would get him to partner with a human understanding.

  213. That's why Jesus had to rebuke Peter. It wasn't

  214. the fact that Jesus thought that Peter was just

  215. a horrible person. Because when Peter heard that,

  216. you know, son of man is going to be crucified.

  217. Peter said, God forbid that that happened. Why?

  218. It wasn't the fact that Peter was just trying

  219. to think devilish. It was the fact that he was

  220. just thinking. He was thinking out of his own

  221. love and out of his own expectation of what Jesus

  222. would mean to him. And now think that through.

  223. How many of us get caught on thinking about what

  224. certain things mean to us and that we try to

  225. force feed something that's not really the father's

  226. will because we've bit down on what that means

  227. for us if we lose that. Jesus chose the low road

  228. of suffering and he chose the cross. Jesus didn't

  229. storm Israel by messianic force. That would have

  230. been sensational and speedy. Can you imagine

  231. 12 legions of angels when one angel can wipe

  232. out over 149 ,000 Assyrians? 12 legions of angels

  233. are saying, all right, sick them. A nuclear blast

  234. would have nothing on 12 legions of angels given

  235. the charge to complete rule. That's not the way

  236. of our king. That's the way of the kings of the

  237. earth. He refused to give in to any of that.

  238. My kingdom is not of this world, he said. Jesus

  239. refused to flaunt his power of knowledge. to

  240. show people he was the Lord. Now, he did this

  241. in amazing ways. He still showed it, but he didn't

  242. create a pool around him to constantly drop words

  243. of knowledge and words of information constantly.

  244. Listen. He is knowledge. He is understanding.

  245. He is wisdom. He could have just sat on his podcast

  246. and dropped, give him 15 every day. I'm not mocking

  247. that. I'm just saying, you understand, he refused

  248. to do that. He could have held up inside a rabbinical

  249. type school, sat and made. place in the temple

  250. as permanent and had gatherings to himself every

  251. day. He refused to do that. Why? He chose the

  252. small, the insignificant to get out to where

  253. people were, not draw people to himself for what

  254. he could offer. He was drawing people to the

  255. father. Jesus purposely chose a path of humility,

  256. purposely. Jesus chose the Father's will, which

  257. was what? Be born, leave the pinnacle of light,

  258. truth, and revelation, living in and around the

  259. Father as the word from God to now be wrapped

  260. in flesh and blood. I mean, from a... mindset

  261. here of us looking at that is like, ooh, yuck.

  262. If you didn't have to live in this and you had

  263. something better, there's no one that goes to

  264. heaven that wants to come back and trade in the

  265. atmosphere there for the atmosphere here. Come

  266. on. Let alone the son of God who was completely

  267. perfect as the word who came forth from God,

  268. who was God, right? I mean, you talk about a

  269. downgrade. You were flying first class. You are

  270. now in coach by the bathroom. Okay? The reality

  271. is he said yes to live in obscurity in Nazareth.

  272. He said yes to live in Nowheresville. On top

  273. of being downgraded willfully to Nowheresville,

  274. the fact that the center of Jesus' ministry took

  275. place in a backwoods place called Galilee, a

  276. .k .a. the sticks, and was not strategically

  277. located in Jerusalem, says a whole lot. Jesus

  278. embraced humility. He embraced it. That's what

  279. Palm Sunday, that's what today is. It is a, and

  280. I may be doing a poor job. I'm trying to steward

  281. this here. It is the principle to prepare our

  282. hearts to understand it was, yes, it was about

  283. the cross. Yes, it was about the resurrection,

  284. but there could never be a cross and there could

  285. never. be a resurrection that would come in holiness

  286. with destroying the power of sin unless there

  287. was a willingness to come to Jerusalem in humility.

  288. He points to the fact that everything that you

  289. want to do in following Christ has to start and

  290. live in that if you will, in that chamber of

  291. humility. That's what he modeled. Jerusalem was

  292. known for its spectacle. It was known for its

  293. opulence. It was known as the grail, if you will,

  294. the holy grail of all that God was doing. It

  295. was Zion. It was that place. In order to get

  296. there the way God wanted him to get there, he

  297. had to go there in humility. Why do we think

  298. that it's changed? Why do we think that access

  299. to Zion comes now through accomplishment or learnedness

  300. or education? Access to Zion and the presence

  301. of the Lord, access to heavenly Jerusalem. Still

  302. comes the greatest way. Who will ascend to the

  303. hill of the Lord? Those with clean hands and

  304. a pure heart. It starts with humility. Those

  305. who have not lifted up their soul. Those that

  306. have not sworn deceitfully. How do we approach

  307. Zion? We approach it with the very same thing

  308. as I never get to the place. where I have learned

  309. so much, grown so much, that now, yes, there's

  310. boldness as a son to come into the throne of

  311. grace and a daughter to come in, but I never

  312. take for granted that the access is given me

  313. because of the humility of my Savior that I'm

  314. told to be cloaked in. No matter what I've walked

  315. through, no matter what I've experienced, It

  316. is humility that brings me into the very presence

  317. of the King. You know, Palm Sunday, there's a

  318. lot to be said about this. We had a couple of

  319. really great thoughts this morning in the prayer

  320. room that took all of my verses, but I'm going

  321. to preach them anyways. Jesus was, Jesus came

  322. to Jerusalem writing. The Bible says out of Zechariah

  323. chapter nine, and we have it up on the screen

  324. if we could put it up there. Rejoice, O people

  325. of Zion. Shout in triumph. O people of Jerusalem,

  326. look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous

  327. and victorious. Yet he is humble, riding on a

  328. donkey, riding on a donkey's colt. Notice the

  329. connection. He is righteous and victorious. Those

  330. two things by themselves without humility lead

  331. to religion and pride. Righteousness and being

  332. victorious will always have a pull to lift our

  333. soul up in our own righteousness or in the victory

  334. that somehow we're helping take. God did it for

  335. us, but we help him with the credit. Jesus, righteous

  336. and victorious, yet he is humble riding on a

  337. donkey. John 12, 12 through 15 says this. The

  338. next day, a large crowd that had come to the

  339. feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.

  340. So they took branches of palm trees and went

  341. out to meet him. crying out, Hosanna, Hosanna.

  342. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,

  343. even the king of Israel. And Jesus found, John

  344. makes reference here, and Jesus found a young

  345. donkey and sat on it, just as it was written,

  346. fear not, daughter of Zion, behold, your king

  347. is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt. Now we

  348. could also look at the book of Matthew and Mark

  349. about Jesus. sending two disciples to go get

  350. and untying the donkey. We've preached on that

  351. before. It's an incredible passage. The Lord

  352. has need of it. Meaning Jesus always looks to

  353. bring his lordship over two generations. Come

  354. on. One that has never been ridden before and

  355. one that has experienced life. God is looking

  356. to capture. the hearts of the young and the old.

  357. But it was so opposite of what the victorious,

  358. the victors would ride in. Victors would ride

  359. in on stallions. They'd ride in on white horses.

  360. And we know that at his second coming, he will

  361. do that. But at this first coming, everything

  362. has to be done to show us the path. That his

  363. kingdom is about humility. And he lived in humility.

  364. And it was clothed in humility. Rode in in humility.

  365. Went to the cross in humility. Why? Because that

  366. is the way of our king. And without that we have

  367. no cross. We would have a death. But we wouldn't

  368. have victory. Because pride. And self -righteousness

  369. never accomplishes the victory. The Bible says

  370. that, and I don't want to spend too much time

  371. on this, but it says they had palm branches in

  372. their hand. Why palm branches? Well, we could

  373. talk a lot about palm branches, but bottom line,

  374. it represents a celebratory parade type event.

  375. They didn't have little Israeli flags, right?

  376. You know, the twin American -Israeli flag that

  377. they were holding. No, they didn't have that.

  378. They didn't have the flags where they could just

  379. go to the trinket store and everybody just buy

  380. a little flag for a parade route. But what they

  381. did have is they loved celebration and they loved

  382. parades. They especially loved parades of the

  383. victors. And it says in Zechariah 9 that they

  384. were holding palm branches. And it says it also

  385. in the New Testament scriptures. But Zechariah

  386. 9 points to something very, very crucial. It

  387. says they were rejoicing. It uses that little

  388. phrase in the King James. It says, and they rejoiced

  389. greatly. Which means to spin around. I know,

  390. not, you're not playing spin around music. You

  391. know, I just, you could stop. You're doing a

  392. really good thing. You do need to understand,

  393. as they were coming to the festival, because

  394. everybody was coming to Jerusalem for Passover,

  395. they had now got branches. Now here is the incredible

  396. part of the sovereignty of God on this. And I'm

  397. going to try to just get this out of my heart

  398. because I believe the Lord is pressing on me

  399. in regard to this. We understand something about

  400. the nature of our God. He holds his timing close

  401. to his vest. And then when it's ready, he releases

  402. it. Now he sometimes always will give his prophets

  403. the prophetic advance. warning, letting us know,

  404. hey, this is about to happen, and it'll give

  405. a few cues. So you need to understand that as

  406. everybody came to Passover, they did not come

  407. to Passover thinking this was the Passover. This

  408. was like the last Passover. before the Lord's

  409. eyes. Not that you can't celebrate Passover,

  410. but this is the culmination of everything that's

  411. happened since Exodus is happening now. Here's

  412. how God in his sovereignty moves. In the fact

  413. that he was now opening the time as Christ was

  414. coming to the cross, several things were happening

  415. on that day. First of all, it would be the 10th

  416. of Nisan, meaning what? It was time to select

  417. the lamb. Every household would have had to select

  418. a lamb. It was said of that day that a lamb could

  419. feed 10 in a house. Isn't that interesting that

  420. 10 represents the number of the law? There would

  421. be a lamb selected to cover what the law says

  422. was guilty, that the blood would satisfy the

  423. 10. Come on, somebody. I want you to think that

  424. through for a second. Blood of the lamb would

  425. be enough to satisfy 10, 10 representing the

  426. 10 commandments, 10 representing everybody who's

  427. under the law. Every household would now pick

  428. a lamb in which could include up to 10 over every

  429. person that has fallen short in their own righteousness,

  430. in their own ways, in their own understandings.

  431. God had made provision in the Old Testament.

  432. And now on that day, Jesus riding a colt of a

  433. donkey. Have you seen donkeys? Donkeys are not

  434. beautiful. Donkeys are not graceful. Donkeys

  435. can be ornery. Now there's a difference between

  436. a mule and a donkey. Mules are just stubborn.

  437. But a donkey can have an attitude. Now, we know

  438. from the scriptures that Balaam thought his donkey

  439. had a serious attitude. Right? And his donkey

  440. spoke back. I remember hearing a story as I grew

  441. up as a child in our home about my mom. Parents

  442. decided to get her a donkey. And that donkey

  443. didn't like my mother. And so every time she

  444. would go to ride the donkey, it would make one

  445. token pass through the pasture and then head

  446. for the barn and squeeze the barn door and knock

  447. her off right at the barn door. Now, we can suppose

  448. probably that this donkey was nice to Jesus.

  449. But you need to understand something. This riding

  450. the foal of a donkey means that Jesus was now

  451. riding something that had never been broken.

  452. So please get that in your black and white understanding

  453. because you have to have that. It's not just

  454. the little. bedtime story where he says he rode

  455. the foal of a donkey. One of the reasons he had

  456. the mother to go with the foal of the donkey

  457. so that the kid wouldn't act up. Why? Because

  458. if you have the parent of the donkey with the

  459. young donkey that's never been broken or ridden

  460. before, never had a saddle, never had a weight,

  461. never had a rider, all of a sudden it's more

  462. bound to respond in calmness than in fear and

  463. anxiety. And what we don't understand is when

  464. the Bible says they greatly rejoiced, it means

  465. to spin around, and that word means to do it

  466. loudly. Think of that for a second. Loudly. Loudly

  467. rejoicing and spinning around. Right? However

  468. you want to picture it, I'm probably not doing

  469. a really good job, but the reality is palm branches,

  470. loud voices, and a donkey that has never been

  471. ridden would have done what? It would have been

  472. what? Donkey eyes. Peeled back. New weight on

  473. it. And having, it didn't say that the anointing

  474. settled the donkey and its steps were like bada.

  475. That's not what it says. If you've worked with

  476. any animals in nature, you understand. I don't

  477. care if you're a donkey whisperer. The reality

  478. is loud noises and crowds and loud chanting and

  479. yelling as people converge around it and on it

  480. is going to do what? It's going to scare the

  481. widow donkey. Okay? And so we've got to get that

  482. in the picture of Palm Sunday as Jesus comes

  483. to town. Why was God, not only was it the day

  484. of selecting the lamb, four days later, Jesus,

  485. this was now everybody selected their lamb for

  486. Passover. Four days later, Jesus would be taken

  487. outside of that city and crucified outside the

  488. city gate. And we would find him on the place

  489. of slaughter. The same place that those lambs

  490. would be on the place of slaughter. But this

  491. is how wonderful the father is. On that day,

  492. he would do what? He would now put something

  493. in the mouths of the people they would say and

  494. quote, but didn't understand. Hosanna, Hosanna.

  495. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

  496. He is the root of David. Hosanna to the son of

  497. David. If you read it in Matthew's account and

  498. you read it, they quoted the son of David. What

  499. was that a reference to? That was a reference

  500. that they were saying with their own mouth, Jesus

  501. is the Messiah. Now only the spirit of God can.

  502. Bring an atmosphere where that begins to be released

  503. over the whole city. That was not planned. It

  504. wasn't an organization. God knew the timing that

  505. was about to take place and what happened. The

  506. Spirit of God let loose on that city because

  507. it was a prophetic. time where the Spirit of

  508. God was hovering and saying, I'm going to allow

  509. people in their ignorance like a fresh young

  510. colt that have not had an understanding. They

  511. haven't been totally inoculated by religions

  512. of the past and religion of 4 ,000 years like

  513. the Pharisees and the scribes have. That's why

  514. they got mad. Do you hear them? Tell them to

  515. be quiet. And Jesus said, even the rocks will

  516. cry out if they don't do this. Why? be as dumb

  517. as a rock, but when the Spirit of God pours out,

  518. all of a sudden you say things that are meant

  519. to be in tune with heaven. Come on. Trust me,

  520. I am one of those people. I'm not the sharpest

  521. knife in the door, but when the Spirit of God

  522. comes, I can say some things from heaven that

  523. are His, and I have no ability to take credit

  524. for any of it. Hosanna. You don't have to amen

  525. too loud on that. Hosanna, blessed is he who

  526. comes in the name of the Lord, even the king

  527. of Israel. What were they saying? This is the

  528. Messiah. This is the king. That's what shook

  529. everything. in the scribes, the Sadducees, the

  530. chief priests, and all of those that liked the

  531. formalities and the places of what they were

  532. preaching. That to them was incredulous, but

  533. it was a prophetic statement. Not just prophetic,

  534. it was prophetic of what was coming and was in

  535. just in a few days would take place, but it was

  536. a truth that had been. already declared before

  537. the foundation of the world was made, as the

  538. Bible says. That Jesus Christ was slain before

  539. the foundation of the world. So they were doing

  540. what? Connecting Jesus to a Davidic root. Connecting

  541. him to the Davidic messianic prophecies. Declaring

  542. that he is the rightful heir to the throne that

  543. David was promised by the fathers. He was promised

  544. in a new dimension. How can I say this carefully?

  545. Above the Mosaic order. David's dimension had

  546. a grace superior to Moses's order. And that's

  547. why God put a boundary around it and allowed

  548. David to live in a tabernacle, fully encompassing,

  549. fully available to anyone around the very Ark

  550. of the Covenant. God was connecting that promise

  551. saying, this is the air of all who will open

  552. the atmosphere for all to know me. Incredible.

  553. And so as they were rejoicing greatly and spinning

  554. around and exalting, literally the word means

  555. to spin around, jump up and down. And they says,

  556. loudly. They were shouting, waving their victory

  557. palms and celebration as Jesus was writing this

  558. cult. The people were saying, Hosanna to the

  559. son of David, a messianic statement. And they

  560. were quoting now because this would have been

  561. in their understanding of what was taught in

  562. the Psalms. This would have been the platform.

  563. of what we would now look at Psalms 118 of the

  564. messianic Psalm declaring that all that that

  565. Psalm is about is Jesus. Of course, it relates

  566. to us personally as well, but it finds its fullness

  567. in Christ. I want to read just part of that Psalm.

  568. I don't have, it's 29 verses and I'll read 19

  569. through 29. Listen to the Psalm now and listen

  570. to it as though Jesus, the word of God is saying

  571. it over himself. Because remember the word of

  572. God, this is the word and he's declaring it in

  573. advance. Open to me the gates of righteousness

  574. that I might enter through them and give thanks

  575. to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord. The

  576. righteous shall enter through it. I thank you

  577. that you have answered me and become my salvation.

  578. The stone that the builders rejected has become

  579. the cornerstone. This is the Lord's doing. It

  580. is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that

  581. the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad

  582. in it. Save us, we pray, O God. O Lord, we pray,

  583. give us success. Do you understand that that's

  584. what they were saying? Hosanna means save us

  585. now, we pray. They're quoting Psalms 118. And

  586. notice what the gates are that he's coming through.

  587. He's come through the gates of the city, but

  588. he's saying thanksgiving and celebration is now

  589. the gates of the Lord. Don't we get that in the

  590. New Testament somewhere? Come on. We enter his

  591. gates with what? And we enter his courts with

  592. praise. Come on, somebody, you're slinging them.

  593. Come on, I love it, right? Now, the reality is

  594. this was out of their mouth that they are prophesying.

  595. They're taking 118, the Messianic Psalm, everything

  596. they'd been taught as little boys and girls in

  597. the synagogue about someday the Messiah is going

  598. to come. What happened? At that very moment,

  599. the Spirit of God begins to pour out revelation

  600. and people start quoting scriptures and singing

  601. it and dancing it and prophetically acting it

  602. out. know what it's about just like many charismatic

  603. services they're singing and dancing and most

  604. of them don't have a clue of how significant

  605. it is but the reality is the first incredible

  606. poured out if you want to call it Charismatic

  607. service happened when Jesus brings his presence

  608. to a people that had a promise. Jesus brings

  609. his presence to a people who had a promise. That's

  610. what Palm Sunday's about. He didn't come in like

  611. everybody expected him to come in. but he came

  612. in nevertheless. And what they wouldn't have

  613. understood in their natural mind because it bypassed

  614. their fleshly expectation, the spirit of God

  615. in them responded to what the promise was. That's

  616. why I thought it was so important of what Valina

  617. said this morning. Why? Jesus came in. To a people

  618. who have a promise. Then it says this. Save us

  619. we pray oh Lord. Oh Lord we pray give us success.

  620. Then they said this. Blessed is he who comes

  621. in the name of the Lord. What are they saying?

  622. You're blessed and you have the power to deliver.

  623. That's that word. We bless you. From the house

  624. of the Lord. Do you hear what they're saying?

  625. They're saying. Quoting the psalm. Hosanna. God

  626. save we pray. Blessed is he who comes in the

  627. name. The one who is the son of David. The right

  628. messianic root. The one who is the fruit and

  629. the promise. Of all that God has said. That we've

  630. been waiting for years. Now. Blessed is he who

  631. comes. Now deliver and bring salvation now. Then

  632. he says, verse 27, for the Lord has made his

  633. light shine upon us. What's that? Revelation.

  634. He's brought his light. He's brought his truth.

  635. He's brought his, all of the things that he brings

  636. from the realm of his father, light, truth. purity,

  637. revelation, insight, the fulfillment of the scriptures.

  638. He's bringing it. They're quoting the Psalm.

  639. And then they say, and then the Psalm says this,

  640. and maybe this is where we'll just camp a little

  641. bit. Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to

  642. the horn of the altar. Bind. The festival sacrifice

  643. to the horns of the altar. Now, if you'll read

  644. the fullness of Psalms 118, and you've been reading

  645. with me on Psalms 119 now, Psalms 118 verse 19

    Psalms 118:19

  646. as we're progressing through, notice we're starting

  647. with thanksgiving. Notice we're starting with

  648. gratitude. Notice we're talking about Jesus being

  649. the revelation and the pinnacle and the cornerstone

  650. that the builders rejected. And in him, All my

  651. hope is alive and I'm praying for God to do because

  652. I've got a promise, right? He's marvelous in

  653. our eyes. Oh, let's rejoice and be glad. Here

  654. is the key to binding the sacrifice, the festival

  655. sacrifice with cords on the altar. It is supposed

  656. to be done with rejoicing and celebration. That

  657. is not often how we view what happened at the

  658. cross. Now, are there moments to think about

  659. in sobriety what Jesus took for us? Absolutely.

  660. But he doesn't just leave us with the scourge

  661. and the nails and the false witnesses and the

  662. mocking and the slander and the spear through

  663. the heart. In God's wonderful, amazing way, he

  664. released the prophetic word years and years ago

  665. as he wrote this psalm about what he would do.

  666. He says, as he would come, the spirit of the

  667. Lord would put words. in the people and they

  668. would quote back to God his word. They would

  669. make declarations of who he is and they would

  670. begin to start something even though they did

  671. not know what they would do. Remember, Jesus

  672. actually quoted that on the cross. Father, forgive

  673. them. They don't know what they do. I think he's

  674. still tying that back into even as he came in

  675. Jerusalem, they did not understand what they

  676. were doing. Because they had the prophetic word,

  677. but they didn't take it for their time. They

  678. believed it, but it was still at a distance.

  679. Do you understand why that's so important? When

  680. God releases a now word for a house, I'm not

  681. talking about, now I'm back to the service this

  682. morning. When he releases a now word for the

  683. house, you can still hear it, receive it at a

  684. distance, and it won't come to pass. Hear. What

  685. was God's mercy? I'm going to declare in advance

  686. that people will line Jerusalem with celebrating

  687. and rejoicing of who I'm bringing as a sacrifice.

  688. And that will be what my son rides in on to the

  689. most excruciating, the most difficult thing.

  690. that he's ever experienced being severed from

  691. our relationship because of the sin of the world

  692. being put on him. It will be under the sound,

  693. not of the jeers of crucify him, crucify him.

  694. He will remember the sounds of rejoicing. He

  695. will remember the sounds of celebration. That's

  696. why the book of Hebrews picks it up in chapter

  697. 13. For the joy that was set before him, he endured

  698. the cross. God would always bring celebration

  699. and rejoicing around what he came to bring the

  700. world as a sacrifice. It says, bind the festival

  701. sacrifice. What was the festival? They were there

  702. at Passover. Bind it with cords to the horns

  703. of the altar. Okay. We don't often talk about

  704. the horns of the altar. What does that even mean?

  705. The horns of the altar. Well, you probably remember.

  706. I'm sure you're thinking of it right now. Leviticus

  707. 4 .7. and Leviticus 16, I think it's around 16

  708. or 17, it says that, especially in Leviticus

  709. 4, 7, it says that when a person sins unintentionally,

  710. they are to go to the high priest with a animal,

  711. a bullock, and they are to release that animal

  712. to be slaughtered, and in that process, they

  713. are to take the blood, And they are to recognize

  714. their sin that they sinned against the Lord unintentionally.

  715. And now they take, okay, I'm gonna pick on you.

  716. They take the blood and they smear it down the

  717. horns of the altar, which there were four horns

  718. on the side. of the brazen altar meaning one

  719. on one corner one on the other one on the other

  720. corner one on the other corner so every place

  721. where the bronze altar was that was made which

  722. was the first thing that you would come into

  723. in meeting the priest that was there or the Levites

  724. that were there as soon as you came to the door

  725. of that the courtyard the first instrument of

  726. approaching God was what The bronze altar. Bronze

  727. speaks of what? Judgment. It speaks of sacrifice.

  728. It speaks of death. Leviticus 4 says that's what

  729. you do. Same with Leviticus 16. Everything has

  730. to have blood smeared on the horns. What are

  731. the horns for? Well, the horns were for, and

  732. I'm just gonna give you one scripture, 1 Kings

    1 Kings 1:50

  733. 1, verse 50. It was for when you, Okay. Here,

  734. that's a horn. Okay. Now, when you did something

  735. that you didn't intend to do, and you read about

  736. this where God in the land, in the book of Joshua,

  737. when God... began to divvy up all the land for

  738. the children of Israel in the promised land he

  739. put certain cities called cities of refuge and

  740. in those places of cities of refuge he would

  741. put a place where someone who had unintentionally

  742. done something not under premeditated conditions

  743. but unintentionally sinned he would say you could

  744. go flee and grab the horns of the altar And you

  745. would grab that horn, you would hold that horn,

  746. and you would keep you from what? The manslayer.

  747. Who's the manslayer? The one that now was the

  748. family representative assigned to take you out

  749. because you killed Uncle Jim. Yeah, you were

  750. chopping wood together, but you didn't do a good

  751. job of putting your axe head on, and your axe

  752. head hit Jim right in the head, or how about

  753. a Hebrew name? hit Jokoah right in the forehead

  754. and killed him, you stop, drop, and roll like

  755. the old TV commercial and you get your little

  756. hiney to the place of the horn of the altar and

  757. you grab on there until the elders come. Why?

  758. Because this horn becomes your place of safety.

  759. We've got a whole new... Level of friendship.

  760. All right. Okay. Thank you. That's what God was

  761. saying prophetically in Psalms 118. Combined

  762. the festival sacrifice. With cords at the horns

  763. of the altar. Now here's where there's a whole

  764. lot of maybe confusion. Some people see it as

  765. you had to bind the sacrifice to keep it from

  766. moving. Why? Because you were gonna, well, it

  767. should have been dead. You wanna bind it down

  768. so when you put the fire on it, it will consume

  769. the sacrifice. But in this passage, there's an

  770. overwhelming tense of saying, now, in this process,

  771. your binding is, what you brought from the festival.

  772. You now need to interweave your life with the

  773. bows that come to burn the sacrifice. You're

  774. included at that altar. So when it says, come

  775. now. bind the festival sacrifice to the altar

  776. he wasn't just now dealing with the priests he

  777. was dealing with the public to come and join

  778. prophetically years and years ago Jesus would

  779. move it off of a Priestly ministry only. And

  780. begin to move. That this sacrifice. That would

  781. be on the altar. Would now be joined. With every

  782. single person. Who would celebrate. At the festival.

  783. And their lives would be entwined. With the sacrifice.

  784. So that joy. And celebration. Would be connected

  785. to. Everybody bringing their bow or their, if

  786. you were the cords, be intertwined with cords

  787. of love. Remember, a three -stranded cord is

  788. not easily broken. I will offer him not the calves

  789. of my lips, as the old King Jimmy says, but I

  790. will offer him the sacrifices of my lips so that

  791. now the rejoicing and the love that comes, I

  792. will not, what? Offer your bodies as a living

  793. sacrifice. holy and acceptable to God. So what's

  794. happening? I now come in the festival with my,

  795. my bows. The palm branches. And I am now what?

  796. Joining myself at the horn of the altar. To the

  797. sacrifice. Where the place where the blood has

  798. been put. Where I found mercy. And for me it's

  799. mercy. For the sacrifice it's death. But I'm

  800. rejoicing. Because someone thought of me. And

  801. brought me hope when I had no hope. And God declares

  802. right from the beginning as people began to prophesy

  803. that Jesus would be the hope for anyone who would

  804. grab the horn. Grab the horn. Mean what? Understand.

  805. Here's the deal. Here's the big deal. The horns

  806. of the altar were made out of what? Not out of

  807. metal. The brazen altar was made out of what?

  808. It was made out of acacia wood. Same wood. Come

  809. on, hear me. Same wood that Noah made the ark.

  810. It was made out of acacia wood. The horns of

  811. the altar were made out of wood. The rings that

  812. were in the wooden. horns were rings that were

  813. put there that would hold the sacrifice on it,

  814. prophetically declaring that the cross that was

  815. lifted up, that had the rings that lowered the

  816. cross and threw it into the ground as Jesus was

  817. nailed to it, would be a wooden cross. Yes, it

  818. was overlaid with bronze and judgment. Jesus

  819. would become the sin, sacrifice, and payment

  820. for the world's sin. And God prophetically type

  821. and shadowed it for 4 ,000 years on an ark. And

  822. then on the backs, as they carried all of the

  823. tabernacle furniture, everywhere they camped,

  824. the brazen altar would be set up and it would

  825. be the first step before they ever entered the

  826. glorious presence of the Lord. Back then, It

  827. was solemn and it still is. It's the fear of

  828. the Lord. But it is always meant to be accompanying

  829. the fear of the Lord with rejoicing and celebration

  830. because one who finds that horn called the cross,

  831. one who finds the blood that was shed there.

  832. means that there's mercy because the high priest

  833. on duty is no longer a man. He is the God man

  834. and he lives to intercede for all of us. He lives

  835. to intercede. Play some interceding music. There

  836. may be an opening. This is a rough job. Hallelujah.

  837. You're doing a great job. Would you bow your

  838. head and close your eyes for a moment? I don't

  839. want to go any farther today because I really

  840. believe that's the message the Lord wants to

  841. prepare for us. Jesus came in in humility. He

  842. lived. as a servant, filled with humility and

  843. stretched out completely to do the Father's will.

  844. And God pours his spirit out even now. As we

  845. look to the cross, Jesus said to Nicodemus in

  846. John 3, he said, if I be lifted up. I will draw

  847. all men unto me. He tied in that bronze serpent

  848. on a pole to Nicodemus. He kept tying in the

  849. fact of judgment that he would take the judgment

  850. of sin. He would take the judgment of the world.

  851. And here again, John, here again in Matthew,

  852. The prophetic word that the people were quoting

  853. of Psalms 118, that messianic passage that undoubtedly

  854. is all about Jesus Christ. It would be a reminder

  855. that he is the one we run to for mercy. And he

  856. is the high priest that we have that ever lives

  857. now to intercede for us. I want us to understand

  858. this morning as I'm just spending a little time

  859. and we're waiting on the presence of the Lord

  860. there, I'm going to ask for a response in a little

  861. bit, but I first want to speak to the whole of

  862. us and say, when Jesus comes into a place of

  863. his people, he always has with him an atmosphere

  864. and a word to bring. breakthrough on your behalf.

  865. He always has it. And he's here today. He's here

  866. today. He's been here through the worship service.

  867. He's been here through the preaching. Some of

  868. you, you just, you've got to grab hold that the

  869. king has now entered in, in humility. He didn't

  870. come in the... spectacular in man's eyes, but

  871. he's here right now next to your heart and your

  872. mind. And he brings the fullness of his kingdom

  873. and he's writing in humility and meekness. That's

  874. what the Bible says he is. He says a smoking

  875. flax or a burning wick, he will not bruise or

  876. crush. That's who he is. And the Lord invites

  877. you today. For there is blood still on the horn

  878. of the altar, on the cross, the blood still cries

  879. out. The blood of Jesus cries out a better word.

  880. It declares mercy instead of judgment. It declares

  881. mercy instead of judgment. It declares mercy

  882. instead of judgment. Not only for your sin, but

  883. for others. He's declaring your voice by the

  884. Spirit of God should come out of you. I have

  885. mercy instead of judgment. Forgive those who

  886. trespass against you as now your heavenly Father

  887. has forgiven you. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

  888. So Father, in the name of Jesus, as I'm asking

  889. right now in the name of Christ, that you would

  890. begin to do what you always do. Holy Spirit,

  891. you cause people to get their eyes off of the

  892. natural and get it on to who you are lifting

  893. up. You are lifting up still the Son of Man.

  894. You are being, Lord, you are being elevated.

  895. You are being exalted. You are being magnified

  896. in this place. And you are drawing hearts to

  897. you. And I'm asking this morning, wherever people

  898. are at, whether they're in a backslidden condition,

  899. whether they're in a place of lukewarmness, whether

  900. they've never known Jesus, the Spirit of God

  901. is being released to draw people unto you. Why?

  902. There is mercy still crying out. It's time to

  903. begin to call people to rejoice. Because the

  904. sacrifice has been given from the Father. Wherever

  905. you're at and whoever you are, I don't know your

  906. situation, but God knows perfectly. If you're

  907. here today and you'd say, I got to get my life

  908. right. I'm not living how I know the Spirit of

  909. God would want me to live. I'm not trying to

  910. live by my own righteousness, but I'm certainly

  911. not living in accordance. with his word and what

  912. I know in my heart and conscience that he's put

  913. inside of me, I'm not partnering with grace in

  914. the right way. If that's you, or maybe you're

  915. just living lukewarm. You're straddling the fence.

  916. The Lord comes today and says, it's time to make

  917. a decision. I don't want to spew you out of my

  918. mouth. That was his word to Laodicea. Because

  919. you're lukewarm. I can't hold you. I can't keep

  920. you with me. Because you're playing in both camps.

  921. Oh, that you were hot or cold. He wants you hot.

  922. But he's calling you back to himself. Or maybe

  923. you're here this morning and you've not made

  924. an official decision to say, Jesus, I have not

  925. bowed my knee in lordship. I will be like the

  926. centurion. on that day of crucifixion that when

  927. Jesus gave his life and said, it is finished,

  928. the centurion in a bowed knee position said,

  929. truly, he is the son of God. It's time to give

  930. your life to Christ. If you're here this morning

  931. and you can just respond with some level of lifting

  932. your hand. I'm going to ask you to do so right

  933. now. The Holy Spirit just tugging on your heart.

  934. If you're in one of those categories or anywhere

  935. in between, between a backslidden state, a lukewarm

  936. state, or I need to know Christ, just lift your

  937. hand, lift it high above, and I'm going to begin

  938. to send somebody to you. Coming right to you,

  939. sir, right now. Anyone else? In the back. Thank

  940. you, John. You got him? Thank you. Anyone else?

  941. Come on, you gotta help a short man look over

  942. the crowd here. Hallelujah, they're coming to

  943. you. Anyone else? Come on, today is the day of

  944. salvation. Today is the day of decision. Today

  945. is a day where you begin to partner with the

  946. Spirit of the Lord and say, I am not going to

  947. live the way I came in. I am going to partner

  948. with the King. And I'm going to rejoice because

  949. I found that I have found the one who's giving

  950. me mercy, grace, and a reason to love God afresh

  951. and continue with him. One more time. Thank you.

  952. Thank you. All right. Father, you see every heart.

  953. You see every hand. Lord, today, Lord, sometimes

  954. we quote scriptures, we know what we think, we

  955. know what we're saying, but Lord, we are so dependent

  956. upon your spirit. We're asking you to, Lord,

  957. increase the place of honor and worship in our

  958. hearts for you. Let us be that group in Psalms

  959. 118 that binds the sacrifice to our heart that

  960. Jesus You are forever bound to us and we have

  961. found your mercy, your grace and your love and

  962. we now rejoice with thanksgiving every time we

  963. think about your name. Whether we're here in

  964. the corporate house or we're at home or work,

  965. let that be bound to us and us to you. We love

  966. you, Jesus, and we bless you. In your mighty

  967. name we pray, amen. We are so grateful for those

  968. who tune in each week and have given generously

  969. to this ministry. If you would like to give,
