-
enjoy this week's message. Well, let's open our
-
Bible somewhere. I'm always amazed at God's graciousness
-
and his kindness with us. If I could just say
-
this personally, I never want to get used to,
-
although I have grown to expect it, I never get
-
used to, and I love that fact, and I hope you
-
do too, of living in an expectation that God
-
is going to visit us. It's so wonderful. I live
-
with that. I know God's going to do it, but when
-
he does it, it still blows my mind every time.
-
You can try to collect all the God things that
-
you think you've experienced. of his word and
-
of his spirit. And each time it's fresh and new.
-
Even though his presence is, if I could say it,
-
familiarly because he's on the inside and we
-
love him and know him as safe people. But each
-
time he comes into the room and begins to do
-
what only he can do, minister to us, release
-
words over us, strengthen us, anoint us. Equip
-
us. By word and spirit it is. It's amazing. This
-
weekend. I spent several days again just not
-
trying to. Maybe this is a clue that should come
-
on me. when I have to work so hard and trying
-
to figure out, God, what are you saying? It would
-
just be nice if he had just shown me just a little
-
bit of Sunday morning, but it's in me. And I
-
haven't been able to get past how important it
-
is for our church and for those that are watching
-
online. how important it is for us to understand
-
that he's trying to get a revelation of his work
-
among his people in us. And he's doing so from
-
the teaching side of the scripture, from Passover
-
to really getting you to understand what Pentecost
-
is. And I know each time I sit down to, Say,
-
Lord, speak to me. There's more and more that
-
keep coming in that revelation. And so I'm in
-
the time that we have left here. My goal here
-
this morning that I felt from the Lord earlier
-
this weekend was to continue to build upon the
-
platform or the progression of how God moved
-
the nation of Israel from Passover to Pentecost.
-
And why Pentecost is so incredibly important
-
now. Why it's so important now. It's the only
-
feast. Even though all of them have been fulfilled
-
naturally in Christ. And even though Israel participated
-
in the observance for, man. of participating
-
in the observance of the feast. Pentecost is
-
where God really moves and shifts things from
-
natural -based understanding to spiritual -based
-
understanding. And if you don't, if you can't
-
kind of just clip your carabiner into that rope
-
of truth, you're really going to stay limited
-
in your understanding and your participation
-
of walking with God in the Spirit through the
-
Scriptures and staying connected to what the
-
Holy Spirit's wanting to do. Because everything
-
changed. Some things remained the same, but everything
-
changed in addition at Pentecost. We moved from
-
a natural born, natural race, natural... identity
-
of Israel in all feasts, in all worship, in all
-
regulation, in all understanding of the Levitical
-
Aaronic priesthood. And everything changed at
-
Pentecost. It opened up a new priesthood. It
-
opened up no longer being born of a blood type
-
and in a certain nation from a certain natural
-
family. Everything shifted in Pentecost. Everything.
-
And the problem is that for many of us that were
-
born and raised in some of our evangelical settings,
-
the highest common denominator of our understanding
-
is a Pentecost type, or excuse me, a Passover
-
type revelation. Passover, and we... been working
-
on this for the last three weeks. Passover is
-
directly related to the cross. It was a place
-
of Jesus being the lamb that was slain. Passover
-
was the taking of the lamb. Passover was the
-
beginning, the open door, the blood on the threshold.
-
It is still the open door that you have to go
-
through first. Jesus said, I am the way, the
-
truth and the life. No man comes to the Father
-
but by me. Passover is the cross. And you can't
-
have the cross without the resurrection. If it
-
was just a cross, it would still be in something
-
that would have to be done every year because
-
that was the pattern of natural Passover. A lamb
-
every year, year after year after year, putting
-
off, putting off, extending. It was almost like
-
God in his... In his infinite mercy. Showing
-
us. How long suffering he was. In the old covenant.
-
By one more year. I'll extend it. One more year.
-
I'll extend it. One more year. And they did that
-
for about. 1600 years. Until. The lamb. That
-
would die. But not just die. Raise from the dead.
-
That's what. made all sacrifice of natural stop.
-
And then 50 days later, there would be an inauguration
-
of what God was trying to bring now his holy
-
nation. Not a nation just of a certain blood
-
type, but that the nations of the world would
-
come. into what they had been excluded out of.
-
There was a few proselytes that came in all over
-
the area, but predominantly they did not do,
-
Israel did not do what they were supposed to
-
do. They were to be a light into the world at
-
that time. They were to draw all nations unto
-
them. Instead, what happened? The nations took
-
Israel in instead of Israel taking the nations
-
in. And God did what at Pentecost? He moved them
-
in so many significant ways. There's so many
-
things that happened. I mean, literally, if I
-
was to go through a chart, we could go through
-
almost 20 specific things that God did at Pentecost.
-
And yet, for most of us, we just don't have that
-
understanding. Now, why is this so important?
-
Because God... And I believe at times with what
-
the Holy Spirit is doing with us as a church
-
and what he's doing in churches all over, he
-
is trying to move the church forward in progression.
-
Not progression as in some form of liberal theology,
-
but progression in what his plan and purpose
-
is so that this generation would actually partner
-
with him in the harvest. Not just the harvest
-
of only the cross, but the harvest that included
-
the cross, resurrection, and the ministry that
-
Jesus said, in my name you will do the same works
-
on greater. It is the combination of both. And
-
if we don't stand on the platform of that, we're
-
divided. I'm going to say something here that
-
I know people aren't going to like. But I believe,
-
I am convinced with all of my heart that one
-
of the greatest deceptions and doctrines of demons
-
that has entered the church is the idea that
-
the Holy Spirit has now ceased from operating
-
in the gifts and in the flow of the Spirit in
-
building the church. They're single -handedly,
-
the devil dropped that in. And you know, that's
-
a relatively, thank you, Jenny. I appreciate
-
you playing. I noticed she stopped right when
-
I said, doctrine of demons. You're on your own,
-
bud. I'm out. You know, it never used to be that
-
way. Did you know that? that all through church
-
history, from the early church fathers for the
-
first three and four centuries, even to the 1700s,
-
1800s, 1900s, everyone recognized that the Holy
-
Spirit was supposed to be something that they
-
should have operated in, but that they had an
-
understanding of operating in all the gifts as
-
it was that he was a minister of wind and fire
-
and he was to partner with the working and the
-
building of the church. There was no mindset
-
that said somehow in some century this stopped.
-
Because you can read the early church fathers
-
and they knew that it didn't stop. It was only
-
in a response, and please hear this, it was only
-
in a response to the 1906 or the 1903, whatever,
-
I'm getting my dates messed up, pouring out of
-
Azusa Street on the West Coast that in response
-
to that outpouring that came, people began to
-
create a mindset that they did not want more
-
of the Holy Spirit and began to really punch
-
down and say, this is a cessationist thing. That
-
which is happening is not of the scripture because
-
all we have now is the word. The word is perfect.
-
That's the perfect that has come. None of these
-
other things are operational. That is the biggest
-
balderdash lie. Now, I know it. I mean, I'm saying
-
to you, it's a lie. I believe it's a lie because
-
you cannot. Now, I know that there's ministers
-
on TV, ministers on the radio, all sorts of things
-
that will say, well, these are just two different
-
points. No, they are polar opposite of each other.
-
And listen, a house divided against itself will
-
fall. And so is it any wonder that the church
-
hasn't been able to progress forward in actually
-
flowing with the Spirit of God and the Word of
-
God together as the body of Christ? Isn't it
-
any wonder that's the only thing we can rally
-
around is the cross and that's it? That the second
-
giving of a one just like Jesus is relegated
-
now? That he can't do what he did in and through
-
Jesus? Who does that make sense to? So, well
-
that was kind of a big introduction. So what
-
does that mean? It means that God has been, and
-
this is why I want to go back to patterns. God
-
has been putting in his word. patterns of partnership
-
right from the beginning of every feast to show
-
us that God does what God does, but in the midst
-
of what God does and he can do alone, he what?
-
Invites you into the process of partnership.
-
And if that's the nature of the Father and that
-
is the nature of the Son and that is the nature
-
of the Holy Spirit, then God who changes not
-
will not change partway through the feasts. If
-
he partnered with you in Passover as we looked
-
at several weeks ago to say, now I'm going to
-
do what only the blood can do and I'm going to
-
provide for myself and you're going to take a
-
lamb and that taking now represents spiritually.
-
You take him on your heart and you apply the
-
blood of my son on your heart, the lamb of God
-
for the forgiveness of your sin, what you were
-
born in and personal sin. If you confess your
-
sin, I'll be faithful and just to forgive you
-
and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Yes,
-
that is part of taking the lamb. It's receiving
-
it. He is the resurrected Lord. I welcome him
-
into my life as my king, my king, and my savior.
-
But I don't stay there. I stay there in the fact
-
that he's my king and my savior and that never
-
changed. But now I don't stay as just a little
-
child. I now take the hand of my king who wants
-
mature sons and daughters. Listen, you know the
-
highest place, and it's all through the scriptures
-
of Pauline theology, the highest place of operating
-
in the kingdom of God was not to be just out
-
there as a minister, an official of the government.
-
The highest place to be outside the king's throne
-
was what? Sons and daughters. Because sons and
-
daughters actually got the better ministries
-
that were given to them to oversee in the kingdom.
-
It was others. that were not sons and daughters
-
that got another tier down rather than what sons
-
and daughters got. Sons and daughters got the
-
tier that came from the king that they wanted
-
sons to be trained, sons and daughters to be
-
trained to what? To rule the kingdom because
-
that was the heart of the father. That's the
-
mindset that we've got to get into. That it's
-
not about... I don't have to be a son and a daughter.
-
I can just do ministry. If I just remain saved
-
and just stay childlike, that's all I need to
-
do. No, no, no. As a son or daughter, you were
-
designed to be tutored to a place where you could
-
now become a steward. That's the Holy Spirit's
-
theology all the way through. The law was a tutor
-
to bring you. to bring you into the fullness
-
of the Spirit so it would take you from a child
-
into a functioning, having full authority, ring,
-
sandals, robe. That was the whole parable. The
-
whole parable of the... I know there's many applications
-
of that, but the son that squandered his wealth
-
is a representation of the younger son representing
-
a Gentile mindset. Part of the problem was the
-
older son. The older son did not want to see
-
What the younger son squandered and felt that
-
the younger son should pay. And the older son
-
had no idea, even though he worked and labored
-
in it, he had no idea of what real partnership
-
meant. Because he got so consumed with what wasn't
-
being done right and the inheritance being squandered
-
that he felt bound to... To only that which he
-
could see. And the nature of the father didn't
-
get in him. Are you there? Meaning what? When
-
the brother came back. And God puts what? A ring
-
on his finger. Shoes on his feet. Robe. Slays
-
the fatted calf. The only thing the brother could
-
think about. And I love this in the old King
-
James. You didn't even give me a goat to make
-
merry with my friends. That's the only word you
-
could come up with? How does not getting a goat
-
to make merry with my friends, what did it do?
-
It revealed everything on the inside of the older
-
brother. Everything on the inside. Meaning, I
-
don't care. That the dead came back. I don't
-
care. All I care is that they lost their chance.
-
They squandered it. They left. They're out. They're
-
out. This thing I'm working is for me. And I
-
need to have it for me. The father in the parable,
-
Jesus, had to awaken them. Awaken him. Say, do
-
you understand that your brother who was dead
-
has now come back to life? Meaning the world,
-
the Gentiles that were cut off. You see, I believe
-
that parable is more about Pentecost than it
-
is in anything else. That when the world was
-
cut off at Babel, it became now one family, one,
-
that older son. And when God called and they
-
finally came out of the pigs and he sent the
-
spirit and he came to himself, what happened?
-
The younger brother, the Gentile brother came
-
to himself. It's what? It's an awakening. It's
-
a call. It's coming out of the places where he
-
was in. Gentile fields, Gentile land, Gentile
-
ownership, the gods of this world and the food
-
of this world. He called them back. brother's
-
biggest issue was the mantling, the signet authority
-
that represented what? Try not to, I got to make
-
sure I got the right finger here. Hallelujah.
-
Okay. The ring finger. Let's pull that ring up
-
there. The ring finger. Okay. Internet ring finger.
-
Some of my Mennonite brethren are really smiling
-
right now. It's like we've never seen anybody
-
do that in our church. Hallelujah. All right.
-
The reality is the ring finger coming on was
-
what? It was you now have my name, power, and
-
authority to go out into the marketplace and
-
make decisions as though you've been in my house.
-
And in every aspect, you've now come to maturity.
-
The season shifted, and the older brother didn't
-
like it. The season shifted, and the celebration
-
was about seeing the younger brother, the Gentiles,
-
come in. come in and be clothed with the same
-
thing as fellow heirs, as fellow sons and daughters,
-
and to walk in together into the house of celebration
-
together. You see, Jesus, we often don't think
-
of these interpretations because even in our
-
understanding of it, we haven't actually believed.
-
that the Pentecostal feast is actually the model
-
for the church, not Passover. We need Passover,
-
but we need Pentecost. God wouldn't have given
-
Pentecost if there wasn't a need for it. Passover
-
represents salvation. Pentecost represents a
-
baptism that represents the kingdom of God coming
-
on you and empowering you, which is subsequent
-
to your salvation, but is still necessary. It's
-
not optional. That's why he doesn't say just
-
choose two out of three feasts. See, the church
-
mostly lives like we're choosing two out of three.
-
We want salvation and we're waiting for tabernacles.
-
Even now, come quickly, Lord. That's the feast.
-
When we get out of here, I'll fly away, oh glory,
-
I'll. When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound
-
and time shall be no more. Come on. That is the
-
doctrine that we've believed. Passover. Do I
-
believe we're going to be caught up? Absolutely.
-
But do I think there was a feast in between salvation
-
and there's a feast in between? It's the laying
-
on of the horn first of move into the fields.
-
Move into the harvest. Move across the threshold.
-
What we heard today. And begin to partner with
-
what the Spirit has poured out. Now listen. People
-
ask me. Who are you preaching to when you get
-
fired up like that? Is it us? Kinda. But it's
-
to what is listening in the atmosphere and to
-
what is happening that has tried to create a
-
blanket in this territory and region to keep
-
people stuck. I am preaching. To the atmosphere.
-
To declare. That there is a people. That are
-
moving in sync. With the spirit of God. In his
-
timing. In his season. And we're not going to
-
stay stagnant. Alright. Jenny. If I launch into
-
this. We will not go anywhere. It's all good,
-
but I don't have time to do it. So what I want
-
to do is I'm going to put this on pause and we've
-
got a service July 5th that is going to be a
-
combined service that I'm going to continue to
-
teach on this progression of Passover to Pentecost
-
and I'm going to take specific things out of
-
the nature and character of Jesus that we started
-
on fire on the altar. I preached a totally different
-
service Saturday night on fire of the altar about
-
the nature of our Father who's a giver of gifts
-
that I taught on Sunday morning. I enjoyed Sunday
-
morning, but Saturday night is the platform that
-
we've got to move as a church together in. Because
-
you heard the Spirit of the Lord. He's looking.
-
To have you partner with his gifts. And if they're
-
from him. They can't be bad. Right? If they're
-
of him. From him. Who in the world. Would have
-
the pride and the moxie to say. That which is
-
holy. That which is true. that which is powerful
-
and that which comes from your heart to mine,
-
I don't need. Kind of sounds like a dry oak or
-
a stone statue, doesn't it? We've got to get
-
to the place where we say, God, I want everything
-
that you that is connected to you, from you,
-
and that is pleasing to you. Folks, that's the
-
heart of a son or a daughter. I want everything
-
that's connected to you, that's from you. I want
-
all that you have given me. And I want, in receiving
-
that and partnership with it, I want to now use
-
it. in a pleasing form that brings you honor
-
and glory. That is the nature of what God is
-
trying to stir by his spirit and his word for
-
the church now to embrace and wear. That's the
-
Elisha generation. It's I'm in love with the
-
father and the father is so in love with me.
-
That everything that is in him, he wants to get
-
to me and give me fresh understanding so that
-
I can partner with him and do what he asked me
-
to do in this season until the next feast. Would
-
you stand with me this morning? Kayla's going
-
to come. I want to pray for you. Father, in Jesus'
-
name, Lord, this morning we have encountered
-
your magnificent, incredible presence of the
-
Lord. Lord, we believe that you're, not only
-
have you given us the amazing word of God from
-
cover to cover, Genesis to Revelation, but in
-
the midst of absolute truth, Lord, you also speak
-
by the spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit. to guide
-
and to give us understanding of seasons and times
-
to prepare your people to partner with you. And
-
Lord, I'm asking now this morning as we have,
-
Lord, prayed for a generation. Lord, I'm now
-
praying for both generations, the Abraham, the
-
Isaac, the Jacob, the younger ones even in this,
-
even in our classrooms this morning, the Jacob
-
generations. Lord that you would begin to unify
-
our heart there would be fresh revelation that
-
would be given we would see through the scriptures
-
through the lens of partnership we would not
-
just see that what you do at all and we have
-
nothing to do except just accept it we would
-
see that that is one part of it but then there
-
is a whole releasing of responsibility that you're
-
looking for us to come alongside of you lean
-
from you grow in you and steward as sons and
-
daughters. I'm praying for that now in the name
-
of Jesus. I'm praying that for every heart and
-
every mind, Lord, that they would be stirred,
-
that the hunger of seeing the younger son that
-
has been out in the pig fields. feeding themselves
-
with garbage and gunk and the leftovers that
-
have nothing that was ever, that the call of
-
God and the destiny of God and that which was
-
put inside of them immediately would be quickened,
-
that the hardened heart and the resistant mind
-
would be softened and they would begin. to make
-
their way to people who would run to them and
-
bring them to the house of God. Lord, to be refitted,
-
reclothed, commissioned, ordained, and come into
-
the celebration of how good our God is. I pray
-
that now, that the Lord of the harvest would
-
awaken, awaken your people, and a quickening
-
of the spirit would come now in Jesus' holy name.
-
And everybody said, amen. Galen. Lastly, if you
-
are in need of prayer send us a text message
-
at 541 -625 -1365 We would love to pray with
-
you.
