  1. Welcome to Transformation Church Podcast, where we represent God to

  2. the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so

  3. glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe

  4. God will transform your life. Do today's message.

  5. Hope you're well this morning.

  6. If we haven't got a chance to meet, my name

  7. is Charles, and I get to serve on our team here.

  8. I'm grateful that you're here today.

  9. Shout out to all our first time guests. I hope

  10. you're yes, give it up for all the first time Yes,

  11. hope you're enjoying yourself. Hope you met somebody kind, if

  12. you if you met somebody that wasn't kind.

  13. They don't go here, they're just visiting, non joking, they're.

  14. Visiting from another church. No, no, we're all.

  15. The truth is, we're all just a bunch of regular

  16. people who've met a completely irregular God who has changed

  17. our life and means everything to us. And when we

  18. get the chance to sing about it and talk about it,

  19. it's a big deal.

  20. And that's what we're about to do.

  21. We're about to read the Bible greatest selling book of

  22. all time always my fun Factor, most stolen book of

  23. all Time, which is awesome. Shout out to the Bible.

  24. But we're going to read that word that we were

  25. talking about. This book is not just a book. The

  26. truth is, it outpaces outweighs every other ancient manuscript ever.

  27. Like I'm not talking about religious books. I'm talking about

  28. any history book ever made. This one trump's it by

  29. a thousand. And I'm not talking like because it's spiritual.

  30. It is deeply spiritual. I'm just talking about, like I

  31. could go down the facts of like the copies of

  32. like Caesar's history that you read in your history book.

  33. We have like ten copies of that left like to

  34. this day, and we have like six thousand of this

  35. that date back further.

  36. So I'm not gonna cook.

  37. You on that.

  38. But if you believe that like Caesar was a real person,

  39. or Alexander the Great or Homer's Iliad, it takes way

  40. more faith factually to look at ancient manuscripts and think

  41. that that's really what happened than it does our book.

  42. We have more books of this book than any other

  43. ancient book ever in the history of the world.

  44. That's a fact.

  45. Chat gpt it, look it up on Google, ask your grandmother.

  46. It's a fact. So when people come up in here

  47. like I don't.

  48. Know about the Bible, Well you don't know about history,

  49. then you got a questions with the Bible. You should

  50. be questioning everything in that history book.

  51. We have more.

  52. Factual evidence that Jesus was a real person than we

  53. do Abraham Lincoln facts.

  54. I'm not making this up, Go check it.

  55. So when we gather in here today, yes, there is

  56. a supernatural element of what we're doing, but we ain't

  57. dummies up in here. Don't get it twisted.

  58. Tell me over there.

  59. All faith is for people who just need a c

  60. and really can't bru Get out of here.

  61. The God I'm talking about.

  62. Is the only creation story that makes sense of all

  63. this stuff you talk about. Some gods was worn up

  64. in the sky slid in half, and that made the sun.

  65. Get out of here.

  66. My God was standing outside of time, and then he

  67. created time, and he placed everything I know in time,

  68. so at the right time I would be on time,

  69. because my God is over time. Get out of here, Bro,

  70. get out of here. That weak stuff. You don't want

  71. to go bar for bar with this book. Bro, Get

  72. out of here. Don't make no sense. Don't make no sense.

  73. People who talk about the people who believe in the

  74. Koran and believe.

  75. In that book. That book says their book is only

  76. valid if our book is valid.

  77. So if our book ain't valid, then your whole joint

  78. ain't valid.

  79. Get out of here.

  80. Your whole book is based off the fact that our

  81. book is real.

  82. Bruh, I would fight you so dug so lame. Don't

  83. even make no sense.

  84. This is why you gotta know the Bible.

  85. Because you be scrolling on TikTok and some fourteen year

  86. old talk you out of your faith. Oh he said that,

  87. you know, it's not even plausible, that.

  88. Plausible that what.

  89. Every other book, this other thing that don't make no sense.

  90. Every other book was written by one person, and it

  91. got contradictions. We got thousands of different people from thousands

  92. of different times, all telling the same story. Which book

  93. you gonna trust one person telling you how it went?

  94. Or thousands of years of different people prophesying about a

  95. man that it all came to pass. It all happened

  96. exactly as they said it would.

  97. Get out of here. Your book is.

  98. Weak, lame, bruh, don't make no sinse y'all don't know

  99. how law, the court of law work you gotta have

  100. multiple witnesses. Jesus appeared to five hundred people at the

  101. same time. Don't nobody do that. This ain't no like

  102. I know. He kind of looked like jo that is him.

  103. Holes in his hand, put the hole in my side.

  104. I'll give you all the facts you want to. Let

  105. me tell you some. Jesus ain't afraid of facts or science.

  106. He made all of that for the spirit of God

  107. was hovering over the earth, and God said, let us

  108. make man in our image.

  109. He ain't worried about this brouh Oh, my goodness.

  110. Okay, I'm just trying to tell you because you think

  111. we in here fighting book to book.

  112. No, we not.

  113. This is not equal. You might be playing, but we

  114. are not the same. We are not the same. Don't

  115. get it to it. I love you, I've congratulations to you.

  116. I hope that that works out.

  117. But if you looking for the truth, not a truth,

  118. D way, the truth, D life, D King of kings,

  119. D Lord of lords, we got the one right here

  120. and his name is Jesus, and there's no other way.

  121. And I'll stand on it ten toes. If you look

  122. in I can save you some time. He's the one

  123. you're looking for. He's the one that made you. He's

  124. the one you need.

  125. His name is Jesus, and he's coming back one day.

  126. Every knee is gonna have to bow at some point,

  127. So I'm just trying to save you some time and

  128. low key, some embarrassment.

  129. You might want to just go ahead. You can live

  130. your whole life by yourself if you want to, But.

  131. Not me.

  132. King of kings. He's not eight king. He's the king,

  133. the only one. Jesus is King.

  134. That's it, man.

  135. Yeah, bro, don't play with me. Noah, bro, get out

  136. of here. Can't nobody mess with our king. Man, and

  137. don't know.

  138. Nobody else tell you otherwise.

  139. They don't know. They don't know, all right, John, Chapter

  140. number eight. Y'all just go ahead and rock with me. Man,

  141. We're gonna do it two weeks in a row. Stay

  142. back there, let's go, let's do it. Let's do it, John,

  143. chapter number eight. Starting in the first verse, you already know.

  144. Gotta break out the readers, John chapter number eight.

  145. Jesus returned.

  146. To the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning

  147. he was back again at the temple. A crowd soon

  148. gathered around, and he sat down and taught them. As

  149. he was speaking, the teachers of the religious law and

  150. the scrubs, I mean, sorry, the.

  151. Bums of the day. Sorry.

  152. The Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in

  153. the act of adultery. How you catch her, though, that's

  154. my question. We'll talk about that in a second.

  155. They put her in front of the crowd.

  156. Teacher, they said, Jesus, this woman was caught in the act.

  157. You nasty boy. That's what's wrong with you. We caught

  158. her in the act of adulttery.

  159. The Law of Moses says, to stone her.

  160. But what do you say.

  161. They were trying to trap him into saying something they

  162. could use against him. But Jesus stooped down and he

  163. rolled in the dust with his finger.

  164. They kept demanding an answer.

  165. So he stood up and he said, all right, but

  166. let the one who has never sinned.

  167. Oh you want to stone people? Okay, back, yeah, let's

  168. do it. Get the stones.

  169. Out, but real quick, before you do that, let the

  170. one who has never stinned stone them first. Then he

  171. stooped down again and rode in the dust. When the

  172. accusers heard this, they slipped away.

  173. One by one.

  174. Here's an interesting detail, and this is where maturity comes in,

  175. because it says the oldest.

  176. Slipped away first, because they know how they used to

  177. get down. I said, O iron, If that's I'm gonna

  178. have to go ahead, and.

  179. Until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd.

  180. Then Jesus stooped up again said to the woman.

  181. Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you.

  182. This language is interesting because we don't know this woman's

  183. theological background.

  184. We don't know if she's prayed the sinner's prayer yet.

  185. But in this interaction and how Jesus moves her, she

  186. doesn't speak any words except for these words. And we

  187. can tell there's a transformation in your heart because she

  188. doesn't say no Jesus. She doesn't say no sir, she

  189. doesn't say no man. She says no Lord. And Jesus said,

  190. neither do I go and sin no more. We're gonna

  191. keep it rocking from last week, and I'm not gonna lie.

  192. I'm excited to preach. It's the title of this week's sermon.

  193. Three powerful words you never forget in your life.

  194. You're gonna need it.

  195. I was right, I was right. There was sometimes that

  196. I was wrong and it wasn't many times, but there

  197. were a few times.

  198. I was right. I was right. I was right.

  199. Jesus, Thank you.

  200. For your grace, for your love, for your mercy, for

  201. your kindness.

  202. Thank you that you're the only reason we are in

  203. right standing with God, that you made us right when

  204. we were so wrong. The scripture says that he who

  205. knew no sin became sin so we could become the

  206. righteousness of God.

  207. God.

  208. We thank you for your grace, for your mercy. Would

  209. you encounter us Jesus is our prayer. Amen, Amen, Amen,

  210. we meet this story. And this is actually a controversial

  211. story in the early writings and theology and theologians of

  212. the Church, because Jesus is kind of wiling when it

  213. comes to how they thought he was supposed to act

  214. when it came to a situation like this. In early

  215. writings of the Bible, some people are arguing that they

  216. should try to take this little story out because Jesus

  217. is being.

  218. Too unclear with this bad woman.

  219. And here's what I want to talk about today.

  220. It is this is kind of the anchor of the sermon, which.

  221. Is fear.

  222. Will doesn't just make you afraid of being wrong. We

  223. talked about that last week. But fear has this other thing.

  224. It does.

  225. It makes you desperate to prove how right you are.

  226. It works both ways. Fear, what have you scared that

  227. you're going to be wrong? And so you spend your

  228. whole life anxious and worried and afraid and trying to

  229. control situations and trying.

  230. To do stuff. But the other thing fear does is

  231. it makes you so desperate.

  232. That it's not enough just to be right. You gotta

  233. make sure everybodybody else knows you're right. And this is

  234. what the Pharisees are doing. They're trying to make sure

  235. they're right.

  236. But here's the thing about being right.

  237. You can be right at the wrong time.

  238. You can be right about the wrong stuff. There's this

  239. story me and my wife, and also just by the

  240. way I get all permission to tell these stories. Somebody

  241. are like, I don't like how he'd be talking about Abby.

  242. Don't worry. I clear them before I get up here.

  243. Me and Abby first year of marriage, super late and

  244. we're on our phone and we see our friends they post.

  245. I mean it's literally like midnight. They post just a

  246. picture and it's their house, and their house is like

  247. in ashes.

  248. There had been a fire, electrical fire that happened to

  249. their home, and they're standing there and me and Abby

  250. immediately jump in the car drive to their house.

  251. We show up, like what are you doing here? Like

  252. we saw what that hap? Are you all okay? What's

  253. going on? They're like, yeah, there was electrifier. We weren't home.

  254. We came home, our house had burned out.

  255. So we're standing there.

  256. We literally are walking through the home picking up stuff

  257. that they love, memories, pictures, photos, were walking through the house,

  258. seeing what we can say.

  259. We're bringing it out to the front yard. We're doing

  260. all that, and then we make our way to the

  261. front yard. We're just standing there and they're a complete

  262. utter shock.

  263. Standing at their home. Their dreams, their life, their future

  264. is burned down. And we're standing there.

  265. And Abby Rose, the love of my life. Abby used

  266. to she's not a way at all, but Abby used

  267. to when we first got together. We were super young,

  268. and Abby didn't really do well like sitting in just

  269. really awkward, hard moments.

  270. Her blessing and her beauty. She's always going to find

  271. the positive thing. So here's what she does. We're standing

  272. in the front yard of our friends burnt down house

  273. and they're just like shocked, and Abby.

  274. Goes, well, Alicia, you get insurance money.

  275. You can rebuild the whole thing, right, And I remember, like,

  276. ain't no way this girl just said that because she

  277. was right.

  278. Technically, But just because you're right, don't mean you have

  279. to be right right now now before you go off

  280. laughing at that. This is what our society has become.

  281. The only way to know I'm right is to tell

  282. you right now how right I am, regardless of what

  283. it costs, regardless of who.

  284. It hurts, regardless of how it makes anybody else feel.

  285. If I'm right, I don't care because I'm right and

  286. I'm right right now. There's this phenomenon that has happened

  287. in culture. You may not have noticed it, but they

  288. did the study and they talked about where the endorphins

  289. and the high quote unquote of going to a concert

  290. has shifted over the years.

  291. Because the exciting part of.

  292. Going to a concert used to be going to the concert.

  293. It's not that way no more then it used to be.

  294. It fluctuated in the generation that going to the concert

  295. it was going to the concert and then being able

  296. to like video and experience it with your friends and

  297. then watch those videos later because you had access to

  298. relive the moment.

  299. That's not what it is anymore. You know what.

  300. Studies say the greatest part of going to a concert

  301. in everybody's subconscious is the moment they post.

  302. To show everybody else where they were.

  303. Why Because there's something in us that feels like it's

  304. not enough. If I was just there, you gotta know it,

  305. and I gotta prove it to you.

  306. And this is what fear does.

  307. Fear has us walking around trying to prove stuff to people.

  308. Prove that your church is right, Prove that the person

  309. you follow is right. Prove that your president is right.

  310. Prove that your way of raising kids is right. Prove

  311. that what you eat is right and what they eat

  312. is wrong. And the best way to gain an audience

  313. is to make it about.

  314. Who's right and I'm wrong.

  315. Here's a little sideways rant that ain't got nothing to

  316. do with y'all in here. I'm just gonna whoop throw

  317. this one out there. It's the lamest thing a preacher

  318. can do to build a church off of making other

  319. people wrong.

  320. And I'm not talking about religion like I just did.

  321. I'm talking about people.

  322. Will pick a side and they demonize the other side

  323. and they build their church because I like that past

  324. that he stands on the truth.

  325. No, you mean he don't like who you don't like.

  326. That's what you mean. Let's call a spade a spade.

  327. There's only one truth you get to stand on in here.

  328. And it's not opinions, and it's not policies, and it's

  329. not people. It's the man, Jesus Christ.

  330. But it's so easy to be right, but it's so wrong.

  331. And this is the.

  332. Playing field of John ad Jesus in the temple. He's

  333. sitting there, he's teaching, and it's actually kind of a

  334. familiar scene because it involves a woman.

  335. Making her way through a crowd. To Jesus.

  336. There's only a slight difference.

  337. This woman is not making her way through a crowd

  338. under her own volition.

  339. She's being drug by pastors and preachers.

  340. We just read the Bible like it ain't real. Imagine this.

  341. We are in the middle of church.

  342. I'm sitting down here, Jesus himself is up up on

  343. the stage, and some small group leaders and Bible study

  344. leaders start dragging a naked woman, starting from the back

  345. against her will as she fights them, and they drag

  346. her to the front of the stage and throw her down.

  347. This is John ed.

  348. Friend.

  349. They're not concerned with the question they're about to ask.

  350. They could care less what the law says. The scriptures

  351. tell us this. They don't care about this woman. They

  352. don't care about right and wrong. They don't care about

  353. what Moses says in Deuteronomy seventeen and Leviticus twenty two.

  354. They that could care less about that. They care about

  355. trapping Jesus.

  356. This is what you think you're right. You'll do anything

  357. to prove you'll step over people. And here's the worst

  358. thing that happens. You dehumanize people.

  359. This is what the comment section does to us.

  360. You think you ain't talking to a real person. You

  361. think it's just a little bubble. So you start ripping,

  362. saying stuff, talking crazy, And.

  363. This is what happens in the story.

  364. They are dragging a woman in front of Jesus because.

  365. They're right, and guess what they are. They're right one

  366. hundred percent except for a few small details.

  367. They find themselves in the middle of Jesus, and they

  368. rhetorically say teacher, kind of sarcastically, because they don't they

  369. don't follow him as a teacher. We got this woman

  370. in the act of adultery, and the law of Moses

  371. says we should stone her.

  372. What do you say? And Jesus is about to execute

  373. to perfection grace and truth.

  374. Let me tell you something about grace and truth. Because

  375. we get this conflicted. We think these are signs. Some

  376. churches are a grace church, some churches are a truth church.

  377. Let me tell your friend, is both at the same time.

  378. Because the truth is grace is how Jesus works. The

  379. most clear, potent truth and human.

  380. History is that for God so loved the world that

  381. he gave his only son, that who soever black, white, tall, short,

  382. whosoever would believe in him, would not perish, but.

  383. Have everlasting life. That's the truth, and it's full of grace.

  384. And sometimes the most gracious thing I could do is

  385. tell you the truth.

  386. It's not either or it's both.

  387. And today we're gonna take a few moments and I

  388. want to show you, for the life of Jesus, three

  389. ways on how to be right.

  390. If you want to be right, how do I know

  391. I'm right? How do I make sure that I'm right?

  392. How do I know how do I know.

  393. I'm gonna give you three easy ways to know you're

  394. right based off how Jesus navigates a situation where right

  395. and wrong are being thrown in his face. First thing,

  396. if you want to know you're right, first thing Jesus

  397. does is is he slows down.

  398. Fear of proving that you're right.

  399. Well, have you speeding up the situation. You ever been

  400. in an argument and you know you right?

  401. You just wouldn't know.

  402. That's not how it went.

  403. I know, no out because something about that, the pride

  404. of being right, and when you know it, it had

  405. to be ready to fire off, ready to say something,

  406. wishing they would question, wishing somebody would look at you sideways,

  407. wishing you because there's something about being right that humans

  408. can't handle all too well. We start to carry this arrogance,

  409. we start to carry this intensity, we start to carry

  410. where we stop looking at people as people and we

  411. just start thinking, oh, I'm about to prove my point.

  412. And let me tell you, friend, I'm just as jacked

  413. up as the next one because I will be in

  414. argument with my wife and she make one wrong step

  415. and I'm like, damn, got her already?

  416. Know?

  417. I mean, I talk for a living.

  418. So when you if you say that, oh, I'm about

  419. to blow this out of proportion and use that comparison

  420. and make an analogy and just take that thought all

  421. the way to the end and.

  422. Blow up this argument. Come on, oh man, I be

  423. so wrong when I'm right, so wrong?

  424. Know when I'm right?

  425. And if we're supposed to be followers of Jesus, I

  426. would argue to you your greatest testimony and test it's

  427. not only how you handle being wrong, but how you

  428. handle being right. Because it's our being right that gets

  429. us in trouble a lot of times. It's our being

  430. right that has us looking down at people were called

  431. to love.

  432. It's our being right that trips us up.

  433. Jesus slows down the moment, Jesus, what do you say,

  434. Jesus don't.

  435. Say, nothing, says. He stops, and he does something interesting.

  436. He stoops down.

  437. And he begins writing in the dust. Now we don't

  438. know what he's writing.

  439. We don't know.

  440. I can say though a lot of the audience, especial

  441. ascribes in the Pharisees, would have had Jeremiah seventeen memorized.

  442. Jeremiah seventeen says, those who are in the ill, or

  443. the anger of the Lord.

  444. Their names will be written in the dust.

  445. Or my king gets down with this book because he

  446. is the book.

  447. Well, Jesus, he stops and he steals. Notice the order.

  448. He stoops before he speaks. He stoops before he speaks.

  449. This is my beef with a lot of us. We

  450. don't want to stoop down to anybody's level. We want

  451. to talk about them from up here. And to be

  452. honest with you, I don't want to hear nothing you

  453. have to say.

  454. If you ain't stooped recently, this will get me messed up.

  455. Don't come in here talk about how right you are

  456. about this group of people, and you don't nobody know

  457. nobody in that group. You ain't stooped. You ain't never

  458. been on their level. You ain't never talked to nobody.

  459. You ain't never been.

  460. In their pain.

  461. You ain't ever asked them what's that actually like? You

  462. ain't never stepped out of your personal comfort bubble.

  463. I'm right, so I get to say it, Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay,

  464. you're right, you're right, you're right.

  465. But when Jesus is right, he stoops down. Because this

  466. is the story of God in the beginning was the Word.

  467. The Word was God, and was with God. In word became.

  468. Flesh and dwelt among us. For we do not have

  469. a high priest who cannot relate to us, for he

  470. was tempted in every way.

  471. This is the gospel. I stuck. I get on your level,

  472. don't get it twisted. I'm about to say the truth.

  473. I'm about to say some real But before I say anything,

  474. let me be clear what being right looks like. It's

  475. not standing lording over people. It's getting down next to

  476. people in the dirt, with people, with people that said

  477. you can't eat with sinners and Jesus.

  478. They're not qualified to be a disciple. And do you

  479. see what they look like? He says, no, No, I

  480. know I'm right.

  481. But because I'm right, I can let you think I'm wrong.

  482. See, the Pharisees are unsure footing. They don't know if

  483. they're right.

  484. And when you don't know you're right, you'll do anything

  485. to prove it to anybody. So Jesus scoops down and

  486. he slows down the moment. And I don't know what

  487. that looks like for you, but some of you, if

  488. you start to feel like, oh, I'm right, I know,

  489. I know. Just let's slow down for a second. First

  490. of all, are you actually right?

  491. Because you would be.

  492. Quick to be like, oh yeah, I'm out of here,

  493. But are you actually right? Okay, yes you are, Okay,

  494. you're right, But it is right now, the time to

  495. be right. We're not good at this because we like

  496. to spiritualize stuff to a level that is unhealthy people.

  497. Going through hard stuff. You at a funeral talk about well,

  498. you come on.

  499. We ain't got nothing to be sad about. They ain't heaven.

  500. Why you're sad? Why am I sad? I will hit

  501. you in your face.

  502. What do you mean? Why am I sad? Because I

  503. loved them? Yeah, you're right.

  504. Technically, one day I will see them in heaven. And

  505. Esus weft before he raised last red back to the dead,

  506. back from the dead. We have a king that knows,

  507. not just that he is right, but when is the

  508. time to be right?

  509. Slow down?

  510. Jesus stoops down.

  511. And the next thing you do, if you're trying to

  512. stand and be right, is you got to slow down.

  513. But Jesus does stand firm.

  514. He does not fluctuate the truth at all. He knows

  515. the truth.

  516. So well he cooks the people who are trying to

  517. cook one of his children, little tidbit, Be careful whose

  518. kids you mess with.

  519. I ain't that tall and I don't weigh that much.

  520. But if you mess with.

  521. Him at cash, you will rule the dead.

  522. I will.

  523. If you beat me up the first time, I will,

  524. I will go regroup.

  525. Come, I'm gonna go regroup.

  526. You gotta regroup, but.

  527. I'll show back up the next day on your front door.

  528. I'm back, and I got Aaron and Scott and.

  529. They you know, they'll handle it if I can't handle it.

  530. So why are you out here and ripping off talking

  531. about wrong and talking down to people. Just remember whose

  532. kids you're talking about.

  533. He stands firm.

  534. Let's talk about how Jesus just cooks them because Jesus

  535. knows the law. They're saying, Jesus, you know, technically, and

  536. they're referencing the Book of Leviticus, in the book of Gearrotomy.

  537. They're saying, God, if there's adultery that's happened, she should

  538. be stoned.

  539. And they're right kind of.

  540. Because the scriptures say that they're both accusers, both.

  541. People who are in the wrong. Gotta be there.

  542. Where the brother at.

  543. Where's your friend?

  544. Many theologians and writers believe they got somebody they knew,

  545. because how else they know where she's sleeping out, when

  546. she's sleeping out, who's she's sleeping with?

  547. And how to friend?

  548. Go on?

  549. How you know that? How you know where she was

  550. gonna be, at.

  551. What time she was gonna be, and she was gonna

  552. be close enough there to the temple that you could

  553. track her there? How'd you find that out?

  554. Why?

  555. Because you don't care about people. You're using people to

  556. prove your points. And Jesus knows this, so he says, Okay,

  557. you want to get down, Sure, let's throw stones because

  558. you're right technically. But before you do, whoever hasn't sinned,

  559. get your first stone and go ahead, brother, And he's

  560. standing on gray sand truth because they knew what the

  561. laws said, but they didn't know why the law said

  562. what is said.

  563. And that's the thing about Jesus. He knows what it says,

  564. but I also know why.

  565. It says what it says, And it says in John

  566. three sixteen, we know this one for God so love

  567. the world that he gave his only son. They're wh's

  568. whoever believed him in not Paris, but have everlasting life.

  569. But do you know John three seventeen.

  570. For I did not come into the world to condemn

  571. the world.

  572. So God does not use his truth to make people smaller.

  573. That's not how you know you're right. When you make

  574. people small, That is not mean you're right.

  575. You may be.

  576. Technically right, but friend, you're so wrong.

  577. Because Jesus he stands on the truth.

  578. Yeah we can, let's do it. Let's go ahead. And

  579. the stoner. I know the law. I was there when

  580. it was written.

  581. I am the law. What are we talking about. I

  582. didn't come to abolish the law, but to fill the law.

  583. And here's where it gets fishing.

  584. Because people think this woman is skirting out of her punishment.

  585. Jesus knows in just a couple of weeks, I'm gonna

  586. pay for this.

  587. Punishment is just simply being postponed for a moment. But

  588. because he stands on the law, he knows there's gotta

  589. be a lamb to pay for this. And I know

  590. in a couple of days, I'm gonna be on a

  591. cross for this girl. He slows the moment down. He

  592. stands on the truth. And this is what I believe

  593. to be the lynchpin and the most intricate part of

  594. believers king and how we act when we are right.

  595. The last one is he uses the truth to set

  596. her free. You don't use the truth to trap people.

  597. I got convicted of this.

  598. I be I was talking with a friend about parenting.

  599. I think I've said this before, but every parent is

  600. guilty of the trick trap question.

  601. Yea kid walking got chocolate over the face. So do

  602. you have any chocolate?

  603. Uh?

  604. I didn't even what is chocolate? I ain't even never

  605. heard of chock.

  606. It's a trap. I know the truth, but I'm kind

  607. of trying.

  608. To Jesus don't do that. He uses the truth.

  609. For you shall know the truth, and the truth will

  610. set you free. Jesus leans down in the dust, he

  611. writes in the dust. He stands back up, and again

  612. he's standing on the law the language. Woman, where are

  613. your accusers? There has to be multiple accusers for you

  614. to be judged correctly. They've all left, and he wants

  615. her to know they're not here anymore. It's just me

  616. and you and they will take technically right. But I'm

  617. here so you can be righteous. And there's a difference

  618. between being right and righteous kind of similar.

  619. But right.

  620. Is about you and your judgment and interpretation of the scripture.

  621. Righteous is something only He can do. For he who

  622. knew no sin became sin, so we can become the

  623. righteousness of Christ. The goal as a follower of Jesus

  624. is not to run around parading how right you are,

  625. but the goal is to run around declaring the goodness

  626. of how righteous He made you.

  627. This is why Paul says, I'm a chief sinner.

  628. I'm the sinner above all sinners.

  629. But God made me right in any right I stand

  630. on is simply because of Him.

  631. You gotta slow down, you gotta stand firm, you gotta

  632. set free. And this is where we close and get

  633. out of here, and we go watch Brazil and Mexico win.

  634. That's the first time I sick has class all service.

  635. Go England.

  636. Okay, I'm a spiritual man.

  637. I love you. It could be said, it should be said.

  638. That the most right a human has ever been in human.

  639. History is Jesus, while the people he created.

  640. Are beating him to where he is un recognizable. He's

  641. right about the law, he's right about humanity, he's.

  642. Right about every question.

  643. Perfect without sin dragging across up a hill. He is

  644. pinned to a cross, and he's right. He knows the

  645. consequence that should be happening to them, and he is right.

  646. Yet he lets them do it. Why because when you

  647. know you are eternally right, you're okay with being.

  648. A little earthly wrong.

  649. Because he knows I technically shouldn't be up here.

  650. It should be you up here.

  651. But Jesus knows I'm right about the right things. And

  652. because I know I'm right, I can let you think

  653. I'm wrong. I can let you think I'm.

  654. Crazy, the craziest one to me. I can let you

  655. think I'm weak.

  656. I think how confident the Roman soldiers.

  657. Feel of the Jews. He ain't nobody.

  658. Jesus knows with one snap he could snatch the breath

  659. out of their body. He could drop the whole audience

  660. that is making fun of him in a second if

  661. he wanted to. The earth is about to respond to

  662. the lack of life.

  663. In his body. The earth is about.

  664. To shake because the person that formed them is being

  665. beaten by its creation.

  666. He knows that he could call.

  667. Legions of angel armies at a moment.

  668. He knows who he is.

  669. He knows that he is the King and in three

  670. days he's about to get back up again.

  671. He knows that.

  672. This is the defining moment in human history. He knows

  673. he's right. But it's not just the fact that you're right,

  674. but how you're right. And so he says, I I'll

  675. let them think I'm weak. I'll let the devil think

  676. for a couple of days.

  677. He won because I know I'm right on this one.

  678. And friend, there's something about being right about the right things.

  679. It is my belief that the reason we read acts

  680. the way we do.

  681. Is because those guys saw it with their own eyes.

  682. They saw how many times Jesus didn't speak back. They

  683. saw how crazy his creation talked to him.

  684. And I think some of.

  685. Them disciples start to realize, wait, he's God, what.

  686. Did he he let?

  687. This is why Jesus, why Paul is so gangster?

  688. Jesus, you're gonna let them take you like that? Oh no, dog,

  689. I'm taking an ear or something. We can't.

  690. But they see the meekness of their savior, and there's

  691. something gangster about being that meek. The scariest people you

  692. meet in life are not the loud people trusting them.

  693. I'm one of them. You shouldn't be too afraid of me.

  694. My violence stops at the vocal cords once I run

  695. out of words. What it is people who real quiet?

  696. Some of the most deadly jokers up in this room

  697. right now looking at you, just like this, super smooth,

  698. super chill. If you ever get in a fight, don't

  699. worry about the friend.

  700. It's like, oh ahead, I promise you I will.

  701. That's not the person to be worried about.

  702. It's that one friend that come around the corner like

  703. this and then they some reason, their shoulders start dipping

  704. because they about to they about to catch up.

  705. It's like an angle thing.

  706. Come around.

  707. You.

  708. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. They come around just

  709. shoulder rotator cuff ripped out the socket when I was

  710. going up.

  711. They call that stole on somebody. You ever heard her

  712. it stole off? Yeah? I ain't never really stole off

  713. on nobody like that. But here's my encouragement friend this week.

  714. When that part of you that so desperately wants to

  715. be right shows up, slow down, take a deep brain.

  716. You in an argument with your spouse, I just don't

  717. even want to happened. Okay, cool?

  718. So what.

  719. Sometimes I remind myself all the time.

  720. It's I'll be going to argue in argument, and I

  721. think about, Okay, if this marriage is the house I

  722. live in, why am I finna tear up my own.

  723. Over being right? And there's some stuff that you're saying.

  724. You can't take it back. Man, So yeah, you were.

  725. Right, but now you alone. So I showed her no,

  726. you are now alone. So just be careful. It's not

  727. that big of a deal.

  728. You can stand firm at peace knowing that you have Jesus.

  729. I want to take a moment. I'm ask you about

  730. your heads and close your eyes. I'm ana pray over

  731. risk today that our fear of being wrong wouldn't have

  732. us fighting to prove we're right.

  733. Whether it's it's social media with the family member. There's

  734. some family members that.

  735. You know are wrong, and you so desperately think about

  736. the day when you prove that you were right.

  737. Let me tell you, friend, that moment ain't gonna be

  738. a special as you think it is.

  739. Let it go, Let them think what they want to think,

  740. let it go. You're right, Okay, cool?

  741. Now what Jesus?

  742. We so desperately find ourselves struggling to be right.

  743. But the truth is.

  744. We have been wrong so many times, and sometimes we've

  745. been right and still wrong. And so Jesus, we come

  746. before you humbly right now, asking that you would make

  747. us right.

  748. You would make us right. Lord, forgive us where our

  749. pride has stood up.

  750. Try to show people who we were, what we knew,

  751. what we could do. There is nothing to prove in you.

  752. We can walk in peace. I pray this week that

  753. when we find ourselves fighting to be right, would we

  754. slow down, stand on your truth, and use the truth

  755. to bring freedom that every head bowed, every eye closed.

  756. Some of you are under the sound of my voice

  757. in this room right now. And there's one thing I

  758. would never want you to get wrong. And it would

  759. be wrong for you to think that you could do

  760. this by yourself.

  761. And when I say this, I mean life.

  762. Some of you are carrying pressure and weight and responsibility

  763. and it's overwhelming, and you're dealing with anxiety and fear

  764. and worry.

  765. And maybe nobody knows on.

  766. The outside, but on the inside you're filled with turmoil

  767. and doubt.

  768. Friend, you can be right today.

  769. You can make one decision that is the best decision

  770. that will change your life forever. And it's accepting Jesus

  771. your Lord and savior. And I promise you, if you

  772. get this thing right, you can get everything else wrong.

  773. But this is the one thing, the one moment that matters.

  774. If you're in this room or watching online and you

  775. want to.

  776. Accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, I'm telling you, friend,

  777. the good news of Jesus is that he was right

  778. all time about everything, and he lived a perfect life.

  779. That you and I could not live.

  780. And he died on that cross for you and for me,

  781. so that when we were wrong, Jesus and God. God

  782. looks at us, but he doesn't see us. He sees

  783. the right that Jesus did. And today is the day

  784. where you make the decision to give your life to Jesus.

  785. It'll change everything. Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna

  786. count to three.

  787. If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior,

  788. You're gonna lift your hand boldly. You're not gonna be

  789. worried about anybody around you, not what anybody else thinks.

  790. You may be riding in the car right now with

  791. a bunch of friends. It does not matter. If you

  792. want to accept Jesus as your lord and Savior. I'm

  793. gonna ask you to boldly raise your hand on the

  794. count of three, because you're saying I want to be

  795. right about Jesus.

  796. This is the day, This is.

  797. The moment, one two three, right now in this room

  798. and all over the world.

  799. Right here, so many of you.

  800. I got you, sister, I see you two friends together, amazing.

  801. So proud of you.

  802. People online, I got you up top here, so proud

  803. of you.

  804. Greatest moment you could have in your life.

  805. Everybody out loud, pray this prayer together. Everybody say, Dear God,

  806. I admit I'm wrong. I need you, Jesus, Thank you

  807. for dying.

  808. For me, change me, save me, make me new, and

  809. Jesus name I pray.

  810. Amen.

  811. Hey, can we celebrate people who just made that choice.

  812. It's the best decision you could ever make. It's a

  813. big deal. Your life is different forever. As a church,

  814. we would love to support you. If you text the

  815. word save to the number eight two eight two eight two,

  816. we'll send you some easy resources so you can kind

  817. of start finding your way.

  818. You can scan the QR code. Well, here's what I

  819. would encourage you to do on your way out. Just

  820. tell somebody, tell somebody who was sitting next to you, Hey,

  821. I raise my hand.

  822. And if somebody tells you that, give them the biggest

  823. hug and you can help them find their way. As

  824. you walk out, there's a sign that says God said,

  825. or did you raise your hand? You can go right there.

  826. We've got a gift for you. Some people just want

  827. to meet you. We're so so grateful for you.

  828. We love you. Hey, listen, here's what we're gonna do.

  829. Our amazing, incredible worship team is going to continue to worship.

  830. If you want to head out, you can. If you

  831. want to stay in worship for a moment, you can,

  832. But I want to pray for you.

  833. Listen.

  834. Also, if you need prayer for anything, we have a

  835. group of people who will be here at the front

  836. and the back and they want to pray with you.

  837. Nothing too big, nothing too small, but prayer.

  838. It matters.

  839. It makes a difference. But if you see anybody.

  840. Hold one of those signs that says need prayer, go

  841. find them and they love to pray with you.

  842. I'm gonna pray for you as we get out of here.

  843. Lord God, we thank you Jesus for your gift, for

  844. your grace, for your mergency. God, we thank you that

  845. you have made us right eternally, that your grace, by

  846. your power and by your strength, we can stand firm

  847. and we don't have to walk in fear, but we

  848. can know that we are chosen by God.

  849. I pray a blessing over this week.

  850. I think you that your favor, your mercy, your grace,

  851. and your love would.

  852. Chase us down and follow us all week.

  853. It's in the beautiful name of Jesus we pray, and

  854. everybody said Amen, Amen, Amen,
