  7. enjoy this week's message. Amen. It's good to

  8. be in the house of the Lord and be in the presence

  9. of God's people. But most of all, be in his presence.

  10. He's here today. So Holy Spirit, word of God,

  11. Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, we thank you.

  12. Thank you for your amazing grace. Thank you,

  13. sir. Thank you for your love for us that is beyond

  14. what we can even understand. Lord, I just simply

  15. thank you today. that you remain unchangeable

  16. and ever faithful. You are our rock, the rock

  17. of our strength, our faith. You are the shelter

  18. that we run to. And I pray for each and every

  19. person this morning as we open the very word

  20. of God and we go through the scriptures. Jesus,

  21. you are the master teacher preacher. And I'm

  22. asking Lord that you would release your illumination

  23. to every heart and mind that's in this room.

  24. Fresh thoughts. Lord, that would come to us fresh

  25. bread of heaven. Oh Lord, as we open the word

  26. of God, you are the one that multiplies it and

  27. feeds us. God, we bring our little understanding.

  28. And we're asking you to expand it with your great

  29. illumination revelation of who you are as the

  30. living word of God. We welcome it today. We welcome

  31. your presence. We love you. In Jesus name. Amen.

  32. Amen. Would you turn to the gospel of John chapter

    John 4 chapter mention

  33. 4 please. Thank you Jesus. Well, we've been in

  34. a little series here talking about Jesus and

  35. the journey to Pentecost. And it's taken him

  36. a long time to get to where we've been going.

  37. I'm just kidding. Some of you got that. But we're

  38. talking about the genius of Jesus. We're talking

  39. about the reality of how amazing. Not only was

  40. the ministry and the life of Jesus as the one

  41. who came to be the gift from the Father, to be

  42. our gift that would breach, excuse me, close

  43. the breach for us to have relationship back with

  44. the Father, but Jesus' intentional focus on God,

  45. the Father, and the nature of God, the Father,

  46. Son, and Holy Spirit of being gift givers. And

  47. it's interesting this last week and the week

  48. before as I was studying this passage, the nature

  49. of God's gift giving has been so muted and hindered

  50. in our understanding as Western believers. My

  51. hope here, as I've been just thinking about this

  52. and pondering and allowing it to set in my spirit,

  53. is that God would begin to move inside of us

  54. to unpin. Some of the restrictions and hindrances

  55. that thought processes and culture and experience

  56. and disappointment have tried to just bring God's

  57. gift only down to just Jesus. I am grateful for

  58. this gift. This gift, it hinges on everything.

  59. My life hinges on that gift, but there's more.

  60. in Jesus Christ because he's of the same nature

  61. as the father. And there's more in him. Please

  62. don't get nervous if you're visiting today thinking

  63. that I'm going to be talking on money. I'm not.

  64. Relax. Tell your neighbor, praise God. Okay.

  65. That's not what we're talking about. We're talking

  66. about Jesus giving of himself and us being ready

  67. and having a platform to always be willing to

  68. receive the gifts of his grace and of his nature.

  69. And the Holy Spirit is the primary gift and the

  70. giftings within the Holy Spirit that Jesus actually

  71. gives. It's mind -boggling to me the arguments

  72. and the mindsets that have come to restrict the

  73. Father's gift of Jesus simply only to salvation.

  74. It is pivotal. It is the cornerstone. It is the

  75. first and essential, most holy, righteous gift

  76. that all have to start our born -again life with.

  77. But it should be added to, like, I would say

  78. it this way, like a beautiful diamond in a string

  79. of pearls should be the gift of salvation, each

  80. pearl representing the truth of God's gifts and

  81. graces that we all should be wearing. It's beautiful.

  82. And so the genius of Jesus is that in his teaching

  83. and in his ministry for the three and a half

  84. years as he was anointed, he highlights the nature

  85. of God, revealing a key component about God,

  86. that God himself is a giver. And Jesus is separating

  87. out of the disciples their wrong perspectives

  88. about the Father, which in turn bring wrong perspectives

  89. about the Son and wrong perspectives about the

  90. Holy Spirit. Because if you get off not knowing

  91. the trail, you get off the trail of not actually

  92. understanding and receiving the nature of the

  93. Father, you cannot embrace the nature fully of

  94. the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And so we have

  95. to go back to this truth. There's no better truth

  96. to highlight this than Romans 11, 28. I know

  97. you got your finger in John 4. We're going to

  98. go there, a very famous passage. Romans 11, 28

  99. is probably, well, for the context today and

  100. in the political realm of, even in theological

  101. realms, this verse speaks to a hotbed of issues.

  102. Romans 11, 28 says this, concerning the gospel,

  103. they, meaning what? Israel. are enemies for your

  104. sake. But concerning the election, we're not

  105. talking American election, okay? Some of you

  106. are like, well, what election did they win? No,

  107. the election meaning of the foreknowledge of

  108. God. Concerning their election in the foreknowledge

  109. of God, they are beloved. for the sake of the

  110. fathers. Now, I don't want to spend too much

  111. time on this this morning, but I want us to drill

  112. down on this because it is such a topic that

  113. gets hit from every angle. And if you take it

  114. to the extreme on the concert, if you would say

  115. Jewish only side of extremism, it becomes out

  116. of balance. If you take it well there, it's there.

  117. They've missed their boat. It's all now fulfilled

  118. in the church. You've taken it to extremism and

  119. missed the boat on that. There is a reality here

  120. that God is saying, Paul is saying something

  121. to us in the saying to the Roman Jewish believers.

  122. He said, you need to understand that if God is

  123. actually holding intention, his promises, In

  124. the midst why his people who he coveted with

  125. are enemies. And that promise becomes an anchor

  126. to you for you to look at. Yes, in the flesh,

  127. they're your enemy and they don't see or appreciate

  128. what you see in Jesus. So he's saying here, concerning

  129. the gospel, Israel are your enemies for your

  130. sake. gives you enemies. For your sake. To have,

  131. listen, to just kind of crumple it up as used

  132. aluminum and to say, well, that's done. No. He's

  133. going to keep that group of people on the basis

  134. Of his foreknowledge and election. And I'm going

  135. to drill down on one part of this. So that you

  136. understand it. It is on the basis of his promise.

  137. Of his character. That it's impossible for him

  138. to lie. So therefore what God promised. As it

  139. says in the word. These two things are immutable,

  140. that God cannot lie and God swears by himself

  141. there is no higher realm. If he was to violate

  142. this tenet, then all of our promises are void.

  143. Please hear me on that for those that are trying

  144. to understand the theology of how does Israel

  145. and Palestine and where does all of this come

  146. into play? You have to understand that God understood

  147. that there was going to be enemies all the way

  148. through, even until the very end. Many will end

  149. up turning at the end, but not all. And the all

  150. doesn't mean that it's all of Israel that is

  151. all Israel. It also means all of Israel that

  152. believes, that has become Israel as Jew and Gentile

  153. in the Israel of God, the church. But it certainly

  154. includes Jews that are born again and choose

  155. Jesus as the Messiah. Listen, I'm highlighting

  156. this because your promises, my promises, are

  157. actually based out of this verse. But concerning

  158. election, they are beloved for the sake of the

  159. fathers. When you go, you see, oh man, there's

  160. so many trails, I can see them. I feel like I'm

  161. on the Oregon coast and there's just trails over

  162. sand dunes everywhere. The reality is this. Notice

  163. he says they are beloved. Beloved for the sake

  164. of the fathers. And it goes back to, again, we're

  165. highlighting, remember, Pentecost, Jesus' journey

  166. to Pentecost. In Romans 11, right here, verse

  167. 28, it's actually highlighting something that

  168. happened in Genesis 12. Paul is bringing back

  169. to the mind of Jewish believers that are in Rome

  170. and Gentile believers, that the promise that

  171. when God turned, so to speak, and gave up the

  172. nations at the Tower of Babel and scattered them,

  173. and instead chose Abraham and built from Abraham

  174. a people, the fathers are not just random fathers.

  175. There were three fathers that he was talking

  176. to, representing a type, and I'm gonna say this

  177. carefully, representing a type and shadow of

  178. God himself in triune nature. The fathers were

  179. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So the promise to

  180. the fathers that were a type of, every time God

  181. refers to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, he's referring

  182. to that he sees them before them. He doesn't

  183. just refer to Israel as the 12 tribes. and look

  184. at their each identity, although he does, but

  185. in his heart, he refers to Abraham, Isaac, and

  186. Jacob, because when he made covenant with Abraham,

  187. he then reaffirmed it with Isaac and he reaffirmed

  188. it with Jacob. So anytime you read in the scriptures,

  189. he's made the election sake for the fathers.

  190. It's not any other fathers. It's those three.

  191. And in that truth, in that Abraham, Isaac, and

  192. Jacob of that, if you will, earthly type and

  193. shadow of father, son, Holy spirit. Notice what,

  194. what, what we highlighted Abraham, Isaac, and

  195. Jacob, the father who had what a promise who

  196. had the. Only begotten son. That's why God would

  197. not allow Ishmael to stand before him. Why? Because

  198. he was made out of mixture. He wasn't made out

  199. according to the promise. Ishmael was made according

  200. to the flesh. Isaac was birthed supernaturally

  201. by the spirit. When things were dead and impossible

  202. inside of the flesh, that there was no hope.

  203. God touched the womb. God touched the man. Listen.

  204. Is there any woman in here at 90 years old that

  205. would just ask God for a baby? Okay, just even

  206. that in itself is, I mean, that's partly why

  207. her name was changed to laughter. All right?

  208. It's like, are you stinking kidding me? I literally,

  209. she says it, after I'm all dried up. You ladies

  210. know what that means. Again, many trails are

  211. before me. I mean, literally, at that point,

  212. God supernaturally quickens her body and supernaturally

  213. quickens Abraham's seed to do what? Bring the

  214. promised son. And then what? The hole in the

  215. womb, two nations struggle. One that would represent

  216. the arm and the work of the flesh versus one

  217. that started off a deceiver and a manipulator

  218. who God would take and train his backside for

  219. about 20 years under Laban until he actually

  220. gets a limp and says, I can't be like my brother.

  221. I actually have to walk in the favor and in the

  222. grace of covenant. God shows his covenant. True

  223. to the fathers. And that's why he brings it.

  224. All the way through. And the people that were

  225. born. Of that. Now listen. There was no Jewish

  226. person. Prior to Abraham. He was. Are you ready

  227. for this? Made a Jew. Let me just say that again.

  228. He was made. A Jew. And therefore. The promises

  229. because he was willing to come out of idolatry,

  230. come out of the system, come out from his father,

  231. come out from the land, come out from everything.

  232. God promised and validated it every step. Now

  233. God said it, but each time tested him and re

  234. -promised and covenanted himself to Abraham and

  235. then to Isaac and then to Jacob. So when you

  236. read, I'm getting a little excited here. I'm

  237. not mad at anybody. I'm just preaching myself

  238. happy. For your sake, but concerning the election,

  239. they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

  240. For the ones God coveted. You have to keep, please,

  241. I beg of thee. You have to keep this picture.

  242. Oh, my goodness. Oh, there's so much. I got to

  243. get it out and make sense. You have to keep the

  244. picture of the flood and what happened after

  245. the flood in your mind when you read these scriptures.

  246. Because if you don't, you miss a gigantic key

  247. to the whole scripture of the promise to the

  248. fathers. Because God wiped out all of humanity.

  249. Except for the eight that were in the ark. Right?

  250. Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their three

  251. wives. Eight. Eight being the number of what?

  252. New beginnings. A few of you. Bible college students

  253. should have just spoke up here. Eight is the

  254. number of what? There we go. Thank you. New beginnings.

  255. Cleared the decks. I'm not planning on preaching

  256. Genesis 6 today, but man, I got a lot of stuff

  257. on that. The sons of God came into the daughters

  258. of men, created giants on the earth, calling

  259. Nephilim. And from that point of time of sinful

  260. humanity, plus now wickedness from a fallen nature

  261. that should have never breached in, the Bible

  262. says man's thoughts were evil continually. And

  263. that perversion of thought, of sexuality, of

  264. everything. Every form and thing destroyed all

  265. that God had wanted. So he had to do what? Destroy

  266. the earth with a flood. Then you read, after

  267. Noah gets out of the ark and all the stupid stuff

  268. that happens when he builds a vineyard and drinks

  269. from his own vineyard. Let me just preach a message

  270. on that. Are you with me this morning? Because

  271. there's a lot of messages coming out here. The

  272. reality is, if you want to create havoc in your

  273. home, build a vineyard and keep drinking in front

  274. of your kids. That's a good word, preacher. It's

  275. not today's message, but it is a message. If

  276. you want to just cause havoc and open the doors,

  277. just read Genesis 8 and 9. Moving on. Then we

  278. get to the passages of Genesis 10 and 11. Now,

  279. we don't spend a lot of time in Genesis 10. And

  280. we should. Why? Because in Genesis 10, it tells

  281. us crazy, funky things. I like to read the Bible

  282. for the obscure things. Right? Now, I know we

  283. don't build doctrine on the obscure things, but

  284. I kind of like the stuff that makes people go,

  285. hmm. I've always, I like that stuff. It's bizarre.

  286. It's cool and weird at the same time. And it

  287. means that somewhere the writers of the scriptures,

  288. they... understood something that potentially

  289. they didn't put down that should have either

  290. a been a given and a known, or they left out

  291. intentionally because they didn't want us to

  292. focus on it. How many ever grabbed a cookie when

  293. you were told not to grab a cookie? Sometimes

  294. I just like diving into the stuff that says it's

  295. not very clear. Let me ponder. Let me think.

  296. Let me research. Let me. Find out what is there.

  297. So in this process of Genesis 10, it says, and

  298. in the days, and please, don't name your kid

  299. this name. In the days of Peg Leg. Not a very

  300. popular name today. How you doing, little Peg

  301. Leg? I mean, in the days of Peg Leg, the earth

  302. was divided. Say what? days of peg leg, the earth

  303. was divided. That's a big statement in itself.

  304. So there's a whole lot of stuff going on that

  305. somewhere most scholars believe that the earth

  306. in our continents actually drifted apart. That

  307. was probably more landmass that was together.

  308. And in that day, God divided the earth. Why did

  309. he divide it? Because he's getting ready to do

  310. something that he saw. In his foreknowledge that

  311. people would do. They chose after everyone was

  312. destroyed and only eight people started. You

  313. can read in Genesis 10 of about 70 different

  314. nations now that came out of that family. 70

  315. different people groups. You can begin to read

  316. it. Not because they were new people groups,

  317. but that they came out of Ham, Shem, Japheth

  318. the sons of Noah and you begin to read and then

  319. what is the what is the result of it and this

  320. is the part that we fail to grasp the result

  321. is what they chose to and it's not written you

  322. have to catch it on the inference they chose

  323. to do what listen to a voice to build a tower

  324. and a system that was opposite of what God had

  325. done for them and chose how they should live

  326. and in fellowship with him. If you miss, and

  327. I'm gonna call this the big gap theory, if you

  328. miss the gap that they were listening to something

  329. else, you see, you wonder, and I don't wanna

  330. go too deep into it, but you wonder, why did

  331. giants appear after the flood? Hmm. How could

  332. giants appear after the flood? Hmm. Was it possible

  333. that the same voices and the same influence that

  334. caused that which came down to the daughters

  335. of men, even though those Nephilim were wiped

  336. out, is it possible that the same spirits that

  337. are fallen actually look to communicate with

  338. people on the earth? Yeah. Duh. Spirit. and angels

  339. come on spirits and angels don't die their voice

  340. of fallenness still speaks and all of Genesis

  341. 11 Babel which is the root of Babylon is a reference

  342. to that which is fallen and a reference to that

  343. which is man made man's approach to mixture to

  344. make God accessible the way I want to get to

  345. him, not the way he asked me to get to him. And

  346. if you don't get that peace, if you don't get

  347. that peace, you don't understand foreknowledge

  348. and election. Because God's next choice would

  349. just say, I'm messing up your languages. You

  350. will be scattered because you can't understand

  351. or communicate with one another. And I'm going

  352. to now step away from the other ones that chose

  353. clearly. Folks, let me say what this is just

  354. in a nutshell. Genesis 11 was the mark. You need

  355. to hear in type and shadow. It wasn't actually

  356. a mark on their wrist or their head, but it was

  357. a mark of what? Do not accept God's way, God's

  358. will, and God's word. I will make for myself.

  359. That is the essence of the mark. And that's why

  360. Babel is the root of Babylon. And what the scripture

  361. calls, and forgive me here, the mother of all

  362. harlots. Why is she called the mother of all

  363. harlots? It's not just because of sexual sin,

  364. that's included. She's called the mother of all

  365. harlots because she's the one that gives birth

  366. to an approach to go and try to gain access to

  367. God rather than the one pure way through Christ.

  368. It's a spiritual issue. And then if you don't

  369. see God turning from the nations and now saying,

  370. all right, I will choose one for myself. One

  371. that will believe me by faith. One that will

  372. operate in the midst of a culture and in a world

  373. system. Because why? God could have chosen another

  374. way to destroy the world, but he had already

  375. promised that he wouldn't flood the earth again.

  376. See, we take that as, well, he didn't do that.

  377. We forget that he was looking at what would take

  378. place even in his foreknowledge. And he reminded

  379. himself, I'm not going to wipe them out again

  380. because they're going to do the same thing. And

  381. he chose Abraham. And in Abraham, he saw the

  382. promised son. And in the promised son, he saw

  383. Jacob. that would be changed and represent the

  384. 12 tribes. And the 12 tribes owe everything to

  385. the covenant of the fathers that learned to walk

  386. with God, follow God from faith. And it is from

  387. that point alone that we get Romans 11, 28. It

  388. says, for the gospel, they, Israel, are enemies

  389. for your sake. But concerning the election, They

  390. are beloved for the sake of the fathers. And

  391. then he adds this and he ties it right to us.

  392. He says, for the gifts and callings of God are

  393. irrevocable. This should answer the question

  394. of why does God still put up with their rejection

  395. of Jesus the Messiah, Because it doesn't mean

  396. that God forgives their sin until they actually

  397. ask for the blood of Jesus. But he is fond toward

  398. them and blesses them and chooses for them not

  399. to be eliminated. Why? Because the gifts and

  400. callings of God are irrevocable. And if he says

  401. those are revocable there, then yours are revocable.

  402. If he can revoke his promises that he made to

  403. the fathers there, then what promise can he revoke

  404. with you? But God by his nature chooses to be

  405. what? Faithful even when we're not faithful.

  406. Remains true when we're not true. That's the

  407. whole. tenor of the scripture that God himself

  408. does not change. And if he spoke it and he validated

  409. by swearing within himself, which I don't even

  410. know how that happens, but the issue is it's

  411. for us really. It's not for him to remind us

  412. that if I say this and I do this and I, by my

  413. own word, granted the covenant, gave the covenant,

  414. and I made the promise and you really had nothing

  415. to do with it, but just say yes. then I who made

  416. the covenant will uphold the covenant by my everlasting

  417. life. That's why you can say if you know Jesus

  418. and you walk in fellowship with him, there's

  419. no one that can breach that covenant. No one.

  420. Why? Because the gift and the calling of God

  421. is irrevocable. That's why when he made Abraham

  422. the promise, even though circumstances, life,

  423. body, time, everything that Abraham was waiting

  424. on that the world says, ha, God is not gonna

  425. do, just make yourself the provision. Have a

  426. son with your maidservant. Dumbest move ever.

  427. Trails are before me. To think that God will

  428. prosper you out of a work of the flesh that you

  429. will prove him right is simply deception and

  430. stupidity. You can't make God's covenant promise

  431. come to pass. Your job in that covenant is to

  432. believe and to trust and to obey that which is

  433. holy and the boundaries of what he says is holy.

  434. To try to reach into the world, reach into mixture,

  435. reach into other circumstances to make his promise

  436. procured for you will always bring heartache.

  437. Just ask Sarah how that went. I mean, that's

  438. a whole message in itself. How many spouses have,

  439. let's just talk on that. Take this one trail.

  440. How many spouses have talked? their other spouse

  441. into a decision because of their desire for something

  442. that they wanted, that when they finally got

  443. it, they loathed it when they finally got it.

  444. I'm not looking. Come on. You allowed your children

  445. to talk you into something that you knew in your

  446. gut. In the spirit of God inside of you that

  447. that shouldn't happen, that you shouldn't do

  448. it, but because of pressure and because of your

  449. own sense of, well, maybe, and you stretch out

  450. beyond what you thought you should have done

  451. because God gave you wisdom and understanding

  452. for a season you didn't even see or know, you

  453. wished you would have never done that decision.

  454. That's Sarah. The gifts and callings of God,

  455. let's get back on track. The gifts of callings

  456. of God are irrevocable. The English word irrevocable,

  457. okay, in the Greek means, that word that's used

  458. there, means without regret or without repentance.

  459. Now this is key because it says the gifts of

  460. callings, we use the word irrevocable meaning

  461. it's limited. But if you take the Greek understanding

  462. of it, it says the gifts and callings of God

  463. are without regret. Meaning that every good and

  464. perfect gift that comes to you and every promise

  465. that God made with you and the covenant of promise,

  466. you'll never, it'll never have regret to it.

  467. It'll never have. regret it. And also if it's

  468. from God and it's really his gift, it will never

  469. need repentance. You say, well, what does that

  470. mean? I mean, repentance means you'll never have

  471. to change the way you think of why you asked

  472. for it and why God gave it. If it's from him,

  473. you'll never change your thinking on it because

  474. repentance really means. changing my thought

  475. process before I actually walk different. That's

  476. what most people, most people think repentance

  477. is, well, just walking away from it. No, no,

  478. no, no. It's the changing of your mind before

  479. you ever actually walk out repentance. So repentance

  480. has two stages to it for it actually to be real

  481. repentance. You can walk away from something

  482. and not be repentful. It's the changing of the

  483. way you think that you surrendered your thoughts

  484. and embrace God's thoughts about that issue and

  485. about that section or that truth of your life.

  486. And in that point, the Bible says the gifts and

  487. callings of God are without repentance. Meaning

  488. what? There is no place to turn to have a different

  489. angle or a different thought. It will always

  490. be pure, true, and connected to his nature. Hmm.

  491. So when we understand that now we can actually

  492. get to our message in John chapter four, you're

  493. doing okay. Okay. I know. Listen, I'm a firm

  494. believer in good appetizers prior to the meal.

  495. Okay. I live that message. Hallelujah. All right.

  496. John, John chapter four, verse 10. I'm going

  497. to start there. Because this passage is so incredible.

  498. Let me just say this about John 4. And I think

  499. it needs to be said. It possibly could be one

  500. of the most preached scriptures in Christendom.

  501. But I believe it's one of the most unmind scriptures

  502. preached. That the treasury of the nuggets of

  503. truth that Jesus was revealing. If you have no

  504. understanding of the Holy Spirit and the gifts

  505. of the Holy Spirit, you'll only go so deep in

  506. the revelation of this passage. The understanding

  507. of the Holy Spirit and God as a gift giver will

  508. expand the understanding of what Jesus was dealing

  509. with with this woman at the well who was a Samaritan

  510. woman. John 4, 10 says, and Jesus, Answered her.

  511. John 4 .10. And Jesus answered her. If you knew.

  512. Can you say that with me? If you knew. What?

  513. The gift of God. And who it is. And who it is.

  514. We missed that phrase. Most of us automatically.

  515. put Jesus as the gift of God, and he is. But

  516. here, Jesus is referring to something that he

  517. wants her to make a distinction or at least understand

  518. that the two are connected. If you knew the gift

  519. of God and who it is that is saying to you, give

  520. me a drink, You would have asked him and he would

  521. have given you living water. Jesus is revealing

  522. himself. He's revealing himself as the gift of

  523. God and as the giver. Please, theologically,

  524. put that, maybe just write that on the note.

  525. He is the gift. He is the giver. And in doing

  526. so, Jesus is declaring the heart of the father

  527. to this woman. He's declaring the heart of the

  528. father. Remember, because you have to take the

  529. theology of what Jesus said. If you've seen me,

  530. you've seen the father. If you've heard me. You've

  531. heard the father. If you see the, if you don't

  532. believe in the words that I do, believe in the

  533. works that I do for the works testify that I

  534. come from the father and these works are done

  535. in him. So Jesus is now in John four. He's talking

  536. with the woman at the well. He's talking with

  537. a number one, a, a Mick. I want you to say this

  538. word mixed. Can we say that together? A mixed

  539. up woman. Mixed in her understanding of faith.

  540. Mixed in her understanding of covenant. Mixed

  541. in her understanding of how to navigate life.

  542. Mixed in personal relationships. Mixed in community

  543. relationships. She is mixed at. every level,

  544. not to mention she's a Samaritan, which means

  545. what? She's mixed in the mindset of the Jews

  546. that she did not stay pure to where they were

  547. once a whole nation of Israel. She's part of

  548. the tribe that left and went to worship the Baals,

  549. the golden calf gods that were set up in Dan

  550. and set up in Bethel. Jeroboam took the people

  551. and Rehoboam was only left with just a small

  552. portion of Israel. Mixed at every level. Jesus

  553. saying, if you knew who it was, if you knew the

  554. gift and who it was that says this to you. Jesus

  555. was revealing that the nature of the father was

  556. totally different than anything she'd experienced

  557. on earth. Because the nature of the heavenly

  558. father was to what? Give of himself. So Jesus

  559. is meeting her against every form of religious

  560. boundary. Every form, I mean, this is amazing.

  561. Every form of protocol, every form of taboo.

  562. Jesus is... Not that he's doing anything weird.

  563. He's just encountering her with conversation.

  564. And prophetically, by the word of God, by the

  565. knowledge of God, by the love of God, he is revealing

  566. and showing her that who he is is connected to

  567. someone. that she says she's after and thinks

  568. she's connected to, that she has no idea who

  569. God actually is. This is probably, just preaching

  570. this passage, this is probably the biggest issue

  571. in our culture, is that there is so much mixture.

  572. Mixture in the mind's mixture of what they believe.

  573. Here a little, there a little. I'll make a potpourri

  574. of Christian faith. And it smells horrible. Why?

  575. Because it's not pure. But then that mixture

  576. gets passed on. It gets passed on to children.

  577. And pretty soon, the very lifestyles that they

  578. live, that they say, I am a Christian, it's supposed

  579. to be a Christ follower, doesn't even look like

  580. a Christ follower at any level. Because everything

  581. they do, every value that they have is contrary

  582. to what is written of what it means to be close

  583. and have a fellowship and a relationship with

  584. God. Yet they would be hard pressed and they

  585. would defend their statement that they were.

  586. This is where the Samaritan woman was. This is

  587. 2026 right here. Jesus was revealing the father's

  588. nature of giving himself through his son and

  589. what his son came to bring. And there is no greater

  590. gift than to receive something that is from God

  591. and of God. Please put that in your understanding.

  592. There is no greater gift than to receive something

  593. that is from God and of God. Meaning of all the

  594. gifts that you have been ever given in the world

  595. of your life, there is nothing greater than getting

  596. something from God and of God. That includes

  597. and starts with salvation, but it also includes

  598. everything that's connected to God that he has

  599. for you. So what does it also say to us? Well,

  600. number two, the gift of God wants to be known.

  601. It should be right clear from this point. That

  602. as Jesus is doing this, he is declaring to this

  603. woman, I come to declare to you by breaking social

  604. norms, by breaking religious norms, by acting

  605. totally different than every other group that

  606. would just stay in their box to what they think,

  607. that I am letting you know the reason I am breaking

  608. every barrier is because God wants, the Father

  609. wants to be known through the Son and the Son's

  610. gift. to whoever will ask. The whole goal of

  611. the father is to be known. This is the very weight

  612. of this precious gift is that God wants to be

  613. known. Jesus is saying to the woman and to all

  614. Gentiles, my people Israel, now hear me say this,

  615. this is important. My people Israel know that

  616. God gives gifts. You see, they knew that. You

  617. could not ask a person that had a Jewish background

  618. and was trained going to synagogue and operating

  619. in the Sabbath and in their whole life as they

  620. were dedicated to know Jehovah God or Yahweh,

  621. the one true God. You could not find a answer

  622. in any genuine believer of a Jewish believer,

  623. they would all say that God plans to give us

  624. a gift. Every prophet that prophesied was prophesying

  625. in accordance to God is going to give a gift

  626. of the Messiah. A king is coming. God will establish.

  627. one that will rule on the throne of David. God

  628. will establish the covenant of the fathers. They

  629. believed in what? They would get land. They believed

  630. they would have favor. They believed there would

  631. be a king that was coming and they would all

  632. share in the bounty of that king as a gift to

  633. them. That was the whole platform. Everything

  634. about their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob's

  635. covenant expression was what was coming to the

  636. family. So it was passed down not only from oral

  637. history from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through

  638. the 400 years of Israel and then at the giving

  639. of the law in Exodus 23 and 24 of what God was

  640. actually giving was to do what? Be my own special

  641. treasure, my own holy people that the nations

  642. of the world now would see that God dwells among

  643. the people and you would give the gift. You would

  644. be a gift to the peoples. That was the promise.

  645. So in their DNA, Tyler, in their DNA was put,

  646. sorry, you're just looking right at me. In their

  647. DNA, right from the beginning of how they were

  648. raised, it was put inside of them, you're a gift.

  649. You're a gift. Not just in your circle that mom

  650. and dad would say, Tyler's a gift. Right from

  651. the get -go. What was put into them based on

  652. everything around them. On covenant. On rehearsing

  653. it. On everything that they would read from the

  654. holy book of God. And read from the Torah. Everything

  655. would reinforce what? Not just a gift. You're

  656. a gift to the world. That was your impartation.

  657. You're a gift to the world. And you're carrying.

  658. a message, and a relationship that is supposed

  659. to provoke the people of the world to want what

  660. you want, to want what you have. You see, if

  661. that was the old covenant, folks, if that was

  662. what was absolutely put in them right from the

  663. beginning, that God said, I'm putting in you

  664. my declaration, over the promise to the fathers

  665. of everyone that would be born of Abraham, Isaac,

  666. and Jacob, I put in them that they are a gift

  667. to the world. And they will carry my word and

  668. my presence. And I see them as a gift and they

  669. should see themselves as a gift. Why don't we

  670. believe that? We have a better covenant. We actually

  671. have been born from above. We're not born of

  672. natural birth into that gift. We're now born

  673. of a superior birth spiritually by faith in Jesus,

  674. which is a better covenant. And that same mark

  675. is actually on you. You are a gift. Yes. To your

  676. parents. To your spouse. To each other, thank

  677. you. I was struggling. Thank you, James. And

  678. you're thinking to yourself, oh yeah, you're

  679. a gift, oh boy. But you're a gift to the world.

  680. And the very core, now I want you to see this.

  681. We've chosen to believe that salvation is just

  682. for us and for our getting Jesus and for our

  683. hell insurance to be paid up. But that is only

  684. part of the equation. You've got half a perspective.

  685. Your perspective is right. But the other perspective

  686. is not only does he save you, but he then in

  687. doing so accepts you, AJ, loves you, and gives

  688. himself to you as a personal gift and grace and

  689. fellowship and removes the handwriting of the

  690. law that was against you and puts your name in

  691. the Lamb's book of life. That's half of it. And

  692. we've been guilty as the church. Unfortunately,

  693. I say the church as in, the Western church, that

  694. that's the only half we preach. It's all about

  695. me. Jesus, salvation is only for me. And what

  696. you'll do in my world. That's half the song.

  697. When the other part of the song is, it's all

  698. about them. and I've been given as a gift. As

  699. the son of man was given to do only what he could

  700. do, now those that are found faith in him are

  701. given a gift to do what he said he needed us

  702. to finish. And if we miss the call and the impartation

  703. and the infusion that you're a gift to the world.

  704. You're a gift to the nations. You're a gift to

  705. the lost. You're a gift. We've got to get back

  706. to that. Yes, it starts with you having security

  707. in the blood of Jesus, in his covenant, and in

  708. his promise that you'll be with him forever.

  709. has to start there. It cannot start anywhere

  710. else. You can't work your way around it. You

  711. can't earn it. It's a gift of God. It's free.

  712. It's his mercy. It's his grace. It's his truth.

  713. And he always starts with you, but the impartation

  714. has to be received. I am a gift. Now, trust me,

  715. there will be people in this church that will

  716. help you not get proud if you get too big for

  717. that. But the reality is that's what the Lord

  718. is looking to impart to us as he was imparting

  719. this to the Samaritan woman. He said, my people

  720. know this. This was the big shift that we failed

  721. to see in the dialogue with the Samaritan woman

  722. and with Jesus. He was getting at the root system.

  723. Why? Because she kept pulling up arguments about,

  724. Where they believed they worshipped. And what

  725. you guys believe over here. And constantly diverting

  726. things. Because it was about going to a place.

  727. Or being part of a culture. That God just accepts

  728. everything. Versus Jesus saying listen. Salvation

  729. is of the Jews. They he knew. And it was purposeful

  730. that they understood their covenant with God

  731. made them a gift. They received the blessing.

  732. It's in their DNA. I don't want to go too far.

  733. on this, but you can just see it throughout history.

  734. Even if they don't have faith, that DNA of covenant

  735. of being blessed because they knew they were

  736. a gift based on covenant to the fathers has followed

  737. them irrevocably all the way through even to

  738. today. And you want to ask, well, why does it

  739. seem that they're always in positions of favor

  740. and money and dah, dah, dah, dah, and yet they

  741. do some crazy things? Because right from the

  742. DNA of their start. They were declared a gift

  743. to the nations. Well if that's true. And the

  744. gifts of callings of God are irrevocable. How

  745. much more true. That's what the scripture says

  746. in Hebrews. It said if the old covenant that

  747. was. administrated by angels proved true how

  748. much more to the God who's living who now has

  749. promises gave his only son we've got to get inside

  750. of us that from the very DNA see Jesus started

  751. with this Samaritan woman pulling the mixture

  752. to get to a place where she could actually live,

  753. not bound still by the religion, the poles of

  754. society, the mindset of her past. She could actually

  755. live in the truth that she was born to be a gift.

  756. Jesus was saying, Jenny, come to the piano. That's

  757. what Jesus was saying. Thank you, honey. Jesus

  758. is saying, if you really knew, if you knew God's

  759. nature, if you knew his heart, you would want

  760. what he has. You would want who he is. And you

  761. would want all that he has for you. You would

  762. want who he is. You would want what he has. And

  763. you would want all that he has for you. If you

  764. knew. It means that if there's places in your

  765. life right now where you have not wanted all

  766. that he is and all that he has for you, it means

  767. what? It means you don't know. In some area.

  768. You don't actually know. What does that mean?

  769. Well. You better come to church next week. To

  770. find out the answer. He was. He was speaking

  771. to something. That in the Greek languages. There

  772. were two words for it. No. There's one that was

  773. known just as fact and having information. There

  774. was another word that means to know by experience

  775. relationship that actually is something that

  776. touches you on the inside. Jesus was going to

  777. start off with the woman of the well, not giving

  778. her. Only an understanding of information. Because

  779. when you get information alone, you revert back

  780. to your old practices. Please think that through.

  781. When you get information alone about Jesus, it's

  782. wonderful. But it doesn't transform you. The

  783. knowing him part of relational experience through

  784. his salvation and grace is the part that actually

  785. transforms you. Then the information increases

  786. your love for him because the real knowing happened.

  787. If you only know him at a distance and never

  788. have the experience of having him come and live

  789. and be transformational, You'll never really

  790. know all or have a desire to have all the gifts

  791. God has for you. Would you bow your head and

  792. close your eyes just for a moment? This is really

  793. important this morning because the call is going

  794. out. The God of heaven has never revoked. His

  795. salvation, his call and his desire to know you,

  796. to save you, to fill you with his love and to

  797. bring you past the gap and the breach that has

  798. been created. He gave of his son to not only

  799. pay for sin, but not to leave you on the other

  800. side, but to draw you near. And he says to you,

  801. as he said to the Samaritan woman today here

  802. in 2006, 26, sorry, 2026. He said it in 2006

  803. too, but in 2026, he says what? If you knew the

  804. gift of God and who it is that speaks to you,

  805. you would have asked of me and I would have given

  806. you a drink. Of the living water. He is the giver.

  807. Of living water. We all know that our bodies

  808. without water. Will die. And our soul. Without

  809. living water. Will die as well. He is the giver

  810. of living water. He invites you to know him.

  811. He invites you because all of the barriers that

  812. like the Samaritan woman had, all the barriers

  813. that you and I think that we have, he sets aside

  814. because he wants you to know he's the giver of

  815. life, the giver of grace, the giver of love,

  816. the giver of forgiveness, the giver of identity.

  817. and the giver of hope, and the giver of eternal

  818. life, that you will bypass the experience of

  819. eternal death. Not only that, but enjoy the riches

  820. of fellowship with the one who is life himself.

  821. He invites you to that place. That's what the

  822. cross of Christ and the resurrection of Jesus

  823. from the dead did. He opened the door. through

  824. his son, that you might know living true life.

  825. If you're here this morning, and you find your

  826. place having drifted from what you knew to be

  827. a real relationship with Jesus, he's inviting

  828. you back. If you're here this morning and you

  829. have not encountered and known the Lord, As truth

  830. comes into you and it's experienced in his person

  831. and in his forgiveness and love, if you've never

  832. known him in what the Greek would say in the

  833. word noisko, a relational exchange with Jesus,

  834. he's inviting you this morning. He opens his

  835. arms, he opens his life, and he invites you to

  836. come. Now, in just a moment, I'm going to ask

  837. you to lift your hands. We've got pastors, we've

  838. got prayer team members stationed all over. You

  839. don't need to come forward, but you do need to

  840. take a step of faith. And I'm asking you now,

  841. if that's you this morning, and you would receive

  842. Jesus as life, as the water of life experience,

  843. I'm asking you now just to lift your hand. above

  844. your head so that I can see it and send somebody

  845. to you. Thank you, sir. Back here. Thank you.

  846. If you begin to move. David, thank you. Anyone

  847. else? I'm looking. Help me out. Thank you, sir.

  848. I got someone coming to you. Anyone else? Mom,

  849. this is your time. If you knew the gift of God

  850. and who it was that is speaking to you, it's

  851. not me. This ain't me. I have nothing to do.

  852. I'm just simply a conduit that he speaks through.

  853. If you knew who the gift of God was and who it

  854. was that says to you, give me a drink of your
