  7. enjoy this week's message. All right, would you

  8. do me a favor and would you open your Bibles

  9. to two places this morning? I'd like you to open

  10. to the book of John. Go ahead and continue just

  11. a little more. I'm not quite done yet. The book

  12. of John chapter 4. If you could put your finger

    John 4 chapter mention

  13. there, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. And then I'd

  14. like you to go a little further beyond and I'd

  15. like you to find Romans 11. And as you do that,

  16. I'm going to just turn our hearts now and ask

  17. the Lord to feed us. Father, we thank you this

  18. morning. Lord, that we can dedicate children

  19. and we can begin to call on you as a loving father

  20. and ask for mercy and help in our time of need.

  21. Lord, that's what you say. You can boldly approach

  22. the throne of grace in your time of need. Lord,

  23. we've done that this morning. We grab a hold

  24. of that truth. And now we also come to you as

  25. the one who is the shepherd of our souls. Lord,

  26. we're asking you to feed us this morning. Feed

  27. our heart, feed our spirit, feed our mind, Lord,

  28. that the word of God would be open. We know that

  29. it's living. The word of God is clean and pure

  30. and true and it divides truth from error. And

  31. I'm asking this morning that as you release it,

  32. Lord, I'm just a vessel, but you would take it

  33. and you would cause it to be fresh bread from

  34. heaven. Lord, that would feed your people. Jesus,

  35. you said my words are spirit and life. And Lord,

  36. they're your words. Let the word of the Lord

  37. bring life to us. In Jesus' holy name, amen,

  38. amen. Thank you, sweetheart. All right, we're

  39. talking about, we've been on a little bit of

  40. a journey. If you're visiting with us here, we're

  41. kind of taking some time. And I started, I think

  42. in... In June, actually, I started this process

  43. somehow. God just kind of gave me a thought and

  44. dropped it into my spirit. We were in the midst

  45. of another series, and so we may go back there,

  46. but this is what happens. I feel like, what is

  47. the movie where there's dreams within dreams

  48. within dreams? I feel like we're in a spiritual

  49. inception. Hallelujah. But the reality is every

  50. time we move on to a certain aspect and a theme,

  51. then God begins to open that theme up and it's

  52. incredible. But I started with the idea of the

  53. journey from Passover to Pentecost. getting us

  54. to understand all of the truths that God put

  55. in the scriptures in regard to the Lamb of God,

  56. the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts of every

  57. Israelite's house that were slaves to now become

  58. free, and the process of partnering by removing

  59. the leaven, which means the yeast, which the

  60. Bible always talks about sin, out of their houses.

  61. And we really dealt with that on dealing with

  62. the partnership. That God does what only he can

  63. do, but then he always creates places for us

  64. to partner with him. And that partnership with

  65. him carries all the way from the Old Testament

  66. into our New Covenant and into the New Testament

  67. reality. And then we took that journey from there

  68. and we began to say, as we begin to extrapolate

  69. the scriptures in various... partnerships that

  70. we see God set up we see the genius and this

  71. is how I'd like to say it we see the genius of

  72. Jesus as he in his ministry begins to highlight

  73. the ministry of the Holy Spirit he begins to

  74. unfold for us What the Father's plan and purpose,

  75. especially as he's now finishing the old covenant

  76. that was made according to Moses and the law,

  77. and he's now bringing life and understanding

  78. to this brand new thing he's about to introduce

  79. called the new covenant in Christ. As he goes

  80. to the cross, which would be his... number one

  81. work that he would fulfill, the reason he was

  82. sent from the Father was what? He came to die.

  83. That was his work. I came to be what? He was

  84. the Lamb of God. He was the fulfillment of Passover.

  85. Jesus Christ in the New Testament, God's shadow.

  86. for three, 3 ,500 years with the people of God

  87. is now coming to a fulfillment that Jesus would

  88. once and for all be the lamb of God that takes

  89. away the sin of the world. And through the cross

  90. and the resurrection, because without the resurrection,

  91. then we'd have to keep having someone over and

  92. over die for our sins. But Jesus wants them for

  93. all at the cross. And then three days later,

  94. rose from the dead, opened the door for us that

  95. we couldn't open. We were closed out because

  96. of sin, if you will. We were locked out. Fellowship,

  97. when God said from Adam and Eve, because of your

  98. willful disobedience, he ushered them out of

  99. the garden. That was a type and shadow of, I

  100. now cannot have the fellowship that I intended

  101. to have with you. You've chosen sin over me.

  102. And therefore I have to usher you out of the

  103. place of intimacy. I have to usher you out of

  104. the place of walking and fellowship with you.

  105. And I'm now having to put a barrier so that in

  106. the time to come, I will work at closing that

  107. barrier because no man can close it. And Jesus

  108. was the only one that could do that. And so as

  109. we do this, we see Jesus on the scene with the

  110. challenging, pulling apart things that they just

  111. garnered from being good Jewish boys, going to

  112. synagogue, reading the Torah, but through cultural

  113. adaptation and years of men adding to the word

  114. of God. Jesus had some work to do to reformat

  115. and position them to begin to understand what

  116. Jesus was going to do. It's a big deal. And so

  117. this is the genius of Jesus. Jesus is separating

  118. out of the disciples their wrong perspectives

  119. of the Father, which in turn... would give you

  120. wrong perspectives about the Messiah that would

  121. come, the Son, and in turn would give you wrong

  122. perspectives about the Holy Spirit. If you have

  123. wrong perspectives about the Father, you're going

  124. to have a wrong perspective on every other aspect

  125. of the Father. Any counselor that's worth any

  126. type of, even should be speaking, understands

  127. that if you got daddy issues, then you got issues

  128. with everybody else. Are you there? She's raising

  129. her hands. I know that's right. No, I'm just

  130. kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm messing.

  131. The point is, you better get it locked down with

  132. dad. And locked down with your father. Because

  133. your identity comes from there. Your understanding

  134. comes from there. And the nature of how dad.

  135. Acts and interacts with you. Shapes your framework.

  136. And your world view. To embrace the son. And

  137. to embrace the other. As Jesus said. I will send

  138. you another. That's just like him. That will

  139. come in the father and the son's name. Of his

  140. nature and character. And so if you're. If your

  141. template of the Father is skewed, if it's off,

  142. if it's minimized, it's going to automatically

  143. minimize your expectation of Jesus. And now it's

  144. going to throttle down and minimize your expectation

  145. of the Holy Spirit. Now, last couple of times

  146. that I've been able to get into this text. We

  147. talked about that God is by nature, he's the

  148. giver. We looked at James chapter one, verse,

  149. I believe it's verse 17. It says, every good

  150. and perfect gift that comes down from above from

  151. the father of lights has no shadow or varying

  152. to it. I don't even think it's on the screen.

  153. I'm just quoting it by reference. It means there's

  154. no shadow, there's no, there's no. God doesn't

  155. just wake up on one side of the bed. Number one,

  156. he doesn't sleep. You know, he sees in the dark

  157. as well as the night. So God's not like moody.

  158. Okay, he's not like he got bad news that came

  159. the day before and he still ticked off. Okay.

  160. That's not who God is. That's not who the father

  161. is. He is perfect. Everything that he gives is

  162. perfect. Everything that comes from him has no

  163. variance to it. You didn't get a, Scott didn't

  164. get a 6 .5 of God's 10 and Jihad got a 7 .8.

  165. Okay. And David, you know, David gets a 9 .2.

  166. It doesn't, God doesn't work on a sliding scale.

  167. every gift is good and whole and perfect. Now,

  168. how we mitigate that gift, how we use it, maybe

  169. not, might not be so perfect, but what comes

  170. to you that's from him is. Now. So I want to

  171. start with a verse. Now, I'm going to try not

  172. to preach the whole Bible to you today, okay?

  173. Because I am going to start in Romans 11, and

  174. we are going to get to John 4. But I want to

  175. start by showing you in Romans 11, I want to

  176. take a hot topic of the day, and I want to begin

  177. to extrapolate it a little bit and show you how

  178. important This verse is to your promises and

  179. help you expand your understanding of God. Now

  180. I am going to a very unique passage of scripture,

  181. Romans 11. And if you are there, Romans 11, I'm

  182. going to get there. Verse 28. Now you say, why

  183. are we going there? Well, first of all, the apostle

  184. Paul by the Holy Spirit is addressing believers

  185. in Rome. So as you're just looking at this deal,

  186. when you see the book of Romans, he is addressing

  187. Jewish and Gentile believers in Rome that are

  188. part of the church together. Jew and Gentile

  189. together. I don't know if you understand this,

  190. but there should not, the whole idea of the New

  191. Testament is we don't have segregated congregations.

  192. The whole idea is the church is done Jew and

  193. Gentile, slave and free, rich, poor, male, female.

  194. It's what? In Christ they are one. And so the

  195. Apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, is writing

  196. to this understanding that is right now 2026

  197. issue. If you have an understanding of the difference

  198. between how much Jewish influence is in the church,

  199. how much Jewish influence is not in the church,

  200. how much emphasis is on Palestine, how much emphasis

  201. is on Israel. We are right there, right now in

  202. 2026. And the Apostle Paul, that's why I can

  203. say Solomon actually had to have some wisdom

  204. because he says there's nothing new under the

  205. sun. This argument has been around for over 2

  206. ,026 years. And the reality is, here's what he's

  207. going to say, and I'm not going to exegete all

  208. of Romans 11, but I am going to move to go to

  209. verse 28. I'm going to start in verse 25 just

  210. by reading it and then we'll highlight verse

  211. 28. Lest you be wise in your own sight. Isn't

  212. that always the narrative? That sometimes we

  213. find people of podcasts and people on things

  214. and we become... We're wise in our own sight

  215. and oftentimes think we know better than what

  216. has already been established. So there's a word

  217. of the Lord for you. Lest you become wise in

  218. your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware

  219. of this mystery. What was Paul saying? I don't

  220. want to leave you in a state of ignorance. Unaware

  221. is what? Ignorance. It's not stupid. Not being

  222. aware of your ignorance and being wise in your

  223. own eyes is stupid. But if you'll actually put

  224. on the reality that, hey, I need to make sure

  225. that I am balancing some things and that I need

  226. to be aware of some spiritual things that are

  227. beyond just normal or natural logic. Do you understand

  228. that you didn't get saved by logic? You didn't

  229. get saved by logic. You got saved by the word

  230. of God and the power of the spirit coming and

  231. breaking. Just didn't answer every one of your

  232. questions. I can tell you this. I had way more

  233. questions of Jesus when I got saved than when

  234. I wasn't. I got a lot more questions today than

  235. I had back then. And he did what? Because. I

  236. had been drawn by the Spirit of God. He was able

  237. to get, doesn't mean that he asked me to check

  238. my mind or my questions. He wants me to ask questions.

  239. He wants me to search and find. That's the scripture.

  240. But he was able to get behind the gate of what

  241. I thought were my objections and move right into

  242. the very center of my heart. And so the Holy

  243. Spirit's doing that here. And he says, I don't

  244. want you to be unaware of this mystery. There's

  245. mystery that takes place. And a partial hardening

  246. has come upon Israel until the fullness of the

  247. Gentiles has come in. Means he's saying, listen,

  248. there's been a mystery that's been operating.

  249. Those that should have recognized the Messiah

  250. did not recognize him. And there are reasons

  251. behind that. I want you to be aware that this

  252. is in the background when you look at the tensions

  253. between what takes place. And he said, listen,

  254. for the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

  255. And in this way, all of Israel will be saved.

  256. And then he quotes Isaiah 59 verse 20 through

    Isaiah 59:20–21

  257. 21 saying, the deliverer will come from Zion.

  258. He will banish ungodliness from Jacob. And this

  259. will be my covenant with them. I will take away

  260. their sins. It's so amazing that Isaiah prophesies

  261. that he is going to take away the sin of Jacob.

  262. We're going to get to that in a bit. And then

  263. he says this verse, which we are focusing on

  264. for our service today. He says this, concerning

  265. the gospel, they, being Israel, are your enemies

  266. for your sake. What? Lord, thank you, I think.

  267. There are enemies. Israel is our enemies as far

  268. as the gospel is concerned for my sake? Hmm.

  269. Why would he say that? Why would he? That is

  270. a mystery. Well, that doesn't even make sense.

  271. No, it doesn't make sense to your natural mind,

  272. but you need to understand something. I've had

  273. mercy on a people who were never intended to

  274. have mercy on. And for your sake, when they rejected

  275. me, I chose you. Now he brings it back and he

  276. says, listen, you need to understand this. He

  277. goes, yes, they are enemies for your sake. What's

  278. that mean? It means that when When Judaism rejects

  279. Jesus, who was the Son of God and born a Jewish

  280. male, fulfilling all prophecies, when they reject

  281. that, what? A blinder came over them, and now

  282. many of them have rejected the gospel, right?

  283. But God says there is going to be when the fullness

  284. of time is... he's set a time that there will

  285. be a more emphasis on the open door at the end.

  286. But in the midst of the process, you shouldn't

  287. get discouraged with those that are mocking you

  288. or that are persecuting you as you share the

  289. gospel. Part of the reason they're doing so is

  290. your salvation. So when we come to now 2026,

  291. And we begin to see all of these issues of all

  292. of these podcasts of saying, well, evil this

  293. and evil that. And I'm not here to go the total

  294. weight on this this morning. But you need to

  295. understand something. You cannot just crumple

  296. up your Jewish understanding of Israel in the

  297. Bible like a piece of used tinfoil and say, well,

  298. if they don't reject Jesus, they have nothing

  299. to do with it. The church now replaces it. No.

  300. Yes to the fact that if your definition is that

  301. the church is both Jew and Gentile. But if your

  302. definition is God's done with the Jewish people

  303. and it's only Gentiles they're going to save.

  304. Absolutely not. It is the Jewish believers who

  305. believe in Jesus first because it's their first

  306. portion. And us second doesn't make us second

  307. class citizens. It just means that we get served

  308. second. It's like the waiter that waits on us

  309. at the table. He never looks at me first. Now

  310. I get that he looks at Jenny. I look at Jenny

  311. first too. I don't hold up my phone and look

  312. at myself. I like looking at something beautiful.

  313. But the reality is the waiter comes to the table

  314. and he always starts with. Jenny, I don't look

  315. at the waiter and go, listen, that's not fair.

  316. I want you to serve me first. No, I'm serving

  317. her first and then I'll serve you second. Your

  318. second is like the first, but you're still second.

  319. It's that simple. It's that simple. Quit. mocking

  320. it up. Okay. All right. All right. So you're

  321. all right. I'm having a little fun today. We

  322. got to, we got to push through this here a little

  323. bit. He said, but now listen, here's where the

  324. great truth lies. He says there for the gospel

  325. concerning the gospel, Israel, the whole, the

  326. whole of them, except for the messianic ones

  327. are your are enemies for your sake, but concerning

  328. the election. Now, please, we're not talking

  329. about politics here. It's not the election of

  330. politics. When he uses that word concerning the

  331. election, what is he talking about? He's talking

  332. about in the sovereignty of God, who knows all

  333. things, sees all things, and looks from eternity.

  334. And has made a determination on bringing people

  335. to himself. And who he chooses out of his own

  336. will. This word, election, is dealing with the

  337. foreknowledge of those that have the opportunity

  338. to be grafted to God. It does not mean they're

  339. automatically grafted. It means that they have

  340. the promise of God and the covenant of God extended

  341. to them. Are you there? And so that's a whole

  342. doctrine in itself on the election and the foreknowledge

  343. of God. And we'll deal with that in Romans when

  344. I can finally get out of this message. But moving

  345. on. But concerning the election, they are beloved

  346. for the sake of the fathers. Okay, what does

  347. that mean? So they're enemies? As far as the

  348. gospel is concerned, Matt, they're enemies for

  349. your sake, but concerning the election and the

  350. foreknowledge of God, of promises made and covenants

  351. extended, they are beloved for the sake of the

  352. fathers. So now you have to ask the question

  353. because this is one of the key tenets of faith,

  354. Jed. Good to see you, by the way. This is one

  355. of the tenets of faith, by the way, that is being

  356. absolutely assaulted in wokeism today. And it's

  357. the very core tenet that's actually what we would

  358. call being deconstructed in many people's faith,

  359. even on college campuses and Bible college campuses.

  360. And the issue is, and maybe you've heard this,

  361. well, we're just removing the patriarchy. Have

  362. you heard that? Don't smoke that if you've heard

  363. it. Okay? Because that is a stinking lie. Listen,

  364. he's not talking about every father here. First

  365. of all, you have to drill down on that fact.

  366. He's not talking about the fathers are every

  367. father in Israel. He's talking about three. If

  368. you understand from Paul's understanding of what

  369. he's actually trying to communicate to the church

  370. that would have Jew and Gentile, he's saying,

  371. listen, you need to understand that your very

  372. root system of salvation is connected to the

  373. election and the promise that God holds dear

  374. of what he gave of himself to the three. Who

  375. are the three? The three represent what? A type

  376. and shadow of Trinity. That when God says, Abraham,

  377. Isaac, and Jacob, he's looking at father, son,

  378. and expansion of the family through the Holy

  379. Spirit. Those three represent, now I'm not saying

  380. that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are the father,

  381. are the son, or the Holy Spirit. They represent

  382. a type and shadow of what God does. To bring

  383. a covenant expression that was in limited capability

  384. and bring it into the New Testament so that you

  385. understand that the promise he made to them,

  386. that he would fulfill it and still fulfill it,

  387. is what actually causes your promise and everything

  388. from God to actually be proven and sure. So you

  389. think of it, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I'm going

  390. to try to be a little bit funny today. Don't

  391. get upset at me being sacrilegious. But you need

  392. to understand something. If you don't understand

  393. what took place in Genesis 12 in the previous

  394. two chapters of Genesis 10 and Genesis 11. You

  395. will get lost in the deconstruction arguments.

  396. You'll get lost in what I would call a woke mindset

  397. because you didn't understand what God actually

  398. was saying and doing because you actually have

  399. to have Bible understanding and knowledge to

  400. see the power of what took place from Genesis

  401. 10 and 11 to Genesis 12. It is not going to read,

  402. and God did this. But in what is read, you're

  403. supposed to have enough understanding of the

  404. nature of God and the power of God of what he

  405. did that you can see the connections. And that's

  406. my job to try to help you pull that out. If you

  407. remember, now are you ready? We're gonna go deep

  408. in the kimchi this morning, all right? Okay,

  409. here we go. All right, number one. We all know

  410. what happened in the garden and we all know the

  411. fall, right? And from that point, we look at

  412. sin entered the world and we look at Genesis

  413. 4 and we see the issue of Cain and Abel and we

  414. see murder happened within moments or years,

  415. however that was calculated, between brothers.

  416. Hatred, jealousy, covetousness, envy, murder.

  417. Bam, right off the bat. And then we move through

  418. the corridors of time and we don't know how long

  419. those spans were, but men were living many, many

  420. years on the earth. And in that process, the

  421. Bible says when we get to Noah in Genesis 6,

  422. 7, and 8, specifically, we see that between Genesis

  423. 4 and by the time God brings the flood, that

  424. all of humanity had been corrupted. Now, I don't

  425. have time to spend too long on this. You'll have

  426. to come to a freedom encounter and an understanding

  427. of spiritual things to understand what I'm about

  428. to dive into in fuller detail. But Genesis 6

  429. gives us a picture that it was not just sin on

  430. an earthly level between people that actually

  431. throughout corruption, then what happened that

  432. there was a what? That the sons of God, and that's

  433. a deep topic in itself, fell and they came into

  434. the daughters of men. And through that union,

  435. there became giants on the earth. And it says,

  436. and man's thoughts were corrupt continually.

  437. Now, if I was to extrapolate and spend another

  438. hour showing you the reality of this, in all

  439. of that, you'll need to understand that there

  440. was a, there was, if I will, sinful, demonic.

  441. and perverse, not just sexuality, even though

  442. that was the case of the sons of God, whether

  443. you believe that's angels or whether you believe

  444. whatever your thought process is. I have some

  445. theories and ideas, but God doesn't go into that.

  446. He just lets us know that what was the product

  447. of that was not of human only origin. It was

  448. of origin that was fallen of a higher level and

  449. of human origin, and it was evil. And it implies

  450. that, not technology, excuse me, that ideas and

  451. information about how to do life was given from

  452. another realm, not just from the realm of God

  453. giving it. Everything you study, everything you

  454. understand, trust me, I've looked at this for

  455. years and I've studied it with a passion. But

  456. I'm making it very, just trying to encapsulate

  457. it because of time. From that point on, God does

  458. what? He says, I haven't found anything that's

  459. whole except Noah. And that was Noah's claim

  460. to fame as Noah was found as a righteous man

  461. before the Lord. And for a hundred years, Noah

  462. performed his faith and stayed righteous in the

  463. midst of a culture that was contrary in every

  464. dimension. And God promised that he would send

  465. the flood. And there's so much more to that.

  466. But Noah, his wife, three sons, Noah, wife, three

  467. sons, and three wives. That's eight. Eight people

  468. were preserved on the ark. What does eight mean

  469. in numerology biblically? New beginnings. So

  470. just type in shadow. God was saying in the ark,

  471. which is a type of salvation, in the ark closed

  472. up, being lifted above all the circumstances,

  473. having all the atmosphere of destruction and

  474. death. You see God having patterns like this

  475. all the way through the scriptures. that what

  476. would happen? They would be preserved. Judgment

  477. would take place. All the Nephilim on the earth

  478. would be wiped out at that time. All the people

  479. of the earth would be wiped out at that time.

  480. And only eight people would emerge out of that

  481. ark as it would come to rest. And then they would

  482. begin to populate. Now, as you begin to read

  483. that, God gave Noah a sign. And of course, it's

  484. been hijacked by the culture of debauchery, that

  485. they would use the rainbow as was a sign given

  486. of God's mercy that he would not destroy the

  487. whole earth with a flood because of man's perversion

  488. and because of the perversion of thought completely.

  489. And God made Noah a promise. He said, I will

  490. not destroy ever again the earth with a flood.

  491. So please keep that in mind. As you begin to

  492. read now the accounts of Genesis 8 and Genesis

  493. 9, and this is a byproduct, by the way. If you

  494. decide to grow a vineyard and drink of its fruit,

  495. you better think twice. You better read the story

  496. of Noah. Because moms and dads, if you choose

  497. to drink in front of your children, Noah decided

  498. to do that the same way and nothing good happened

  499. from that point on. Not saying you can't. Have

  500. something in your own house. But you probably

  501. ought to be wise and read that story. Because

  502. it brought shame and hardship and pain. For generations.

  503. And as you read that. You begin to see. God promised

  504. not to destroy the earth with a flood. And you

  505. begin to see in the paintings of scripture. That

  506. from those eight people. tribes began to be born.

  507. And you begin to hear the offspring of Shem,

  508. Japheth, and Ham. And you follow the lines through

  509. it. You see it in Genesis 9 and 10. And from

  510. Genesis 9 and 10, you read some real weird, funky

  511. things. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm

  512. kind of the guy or maybe the kid. That when somebody

  513. puts something weird out there, I'm asking the

  514. question, hmm, why is this different? And hmm,

  515. I need to kind of figure it out. And so when

  516. you read like Genesis 10, it makes obscure comments.

  517. It says, in the days of peg leg, the earth was

  518. divided. First of all, that's a word of wisdom

  519. to all of us. Don't name your kids peg leg, okay?

  520. Second, okay, second is that in the days of Pegleg,

  521. the earth was divided. Well, okay, what does

  522. that mean? We're getting somewhere with this.

  523. It means that most scholars believe that there

  524. was a larger mass of land that in those days,

  525. on the basis of how things moved from the flood

  526. and what God decided to do with all things, separation

  527. began to take place with different continents

  528. and land mass. There's your science. And we can

  529. go through science, but it's right there in the

  530. scriptures. Because God in his foreknowledge,

  531. now remember, we're talking about election, right?

  532. We're talking about promises that will be stood

  533. by that God sees in advance before you ever say

  534. yes or no. You don't think God knew? What was

  535. about ready to come down on the earth? He held

  536. his covenant that he would not destroy the earth

  537. again by water. And what takes place? Here are

  538. the eight people, eight people that he saved

  539. in the ark. And now you read it in Genesis 10,

  540. what takes place? He lists 70 different potential

  541. tribes that will become nations out of that.

  542. And the earth was what? populated again between

  543. Genesis 8, and this is what we miss, between

  544. Genesis 8 and Genesis 10, the earth was filled

  545. with people. And they made a choice. Now remember,

  546. Noah was a righteous man. Noah would have given

  547. the answers on how to communicate with God. Remember,

  548. God told him to build ark. They were not without

  549. knowledge. Noah would have said, this is how

  550. we hear from God. This is how we understand God.

  551. Noah was still living. He was still there when

  552. he was teaching Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And then

  553. they were passing that on to their children,

  554. wives, and so forth and so forth. And guess what

  555. happens? That moment at Babel, Genesis 11. When

  556. they all gathered to come to the plain of Shinar.

  557. In essence, you want to describe what's happening?

  558. It was burning men. They all came to the plain

  559. of Shinar to do what? To build a tower and a

  560. system to worship God the way they wanted to.

  561. And if you were to look at history and look at

  562. all the ziggurats of temples that were built,

  563. most likely Babel was a type of temple that was

  564. built to do what? To communicate with a, quote,

  565. God, but not the one out of the Bible. And you

  566. have to ask yourself the question, where did

  567. they get that knowledge? Come on. Things that

  568. make you go, hmm. Where did they get that knowledge?

  569. Why? Because those spirits that fell that took

  570. the daughters of men in Genesis way back, they

  571. don't die. And so what was happening? They were

  572. still speaking wisdom. Wasn't a godly wisdom,

  573. but a wisdom that was earthly, sensual, and demonic.

  574. And there were people that had, here has how

  575. you serve the true living God, and yet a whole,

  576. almost a whole world. came to Babel to do what?

  577. To make bricks and mortar and to build a temple

  578. and tower that would reach the sky. And that's

  579. why the Bible calls Babel, it's the root of Babylon.

  580. It's what? When the Bible ends it in Revelation

  581. saying Babylon, the city, the mother of all harlots,

  582. he's not talking about the city being a sexual

  583. prostitute. He's talking about the very system

  584. that beget another way to worship the God of

  585. your choosing that looks like you versus the

  586. one who said, I want you to look like me. That's

  587. the difference between antichrist and Christ.

  588. It started all the way back. It started all the

  589. way back. So this is why I say, well, where are

  590. we going with this? Well, we're going back to

  591. Romans 11 for the sake of election and the promise

  592. of the Father. What you need to read in Genesis

  593. 11 is this. When they chose Babel, what did God

  594. do? Matt, God did something. That is mind boggling.

  595. He said, okay, I'm coming down. And I know that

  596. what they decide to do, there will be nothing

  597. that stops them. Why? He wasn't talking about

  598. human power. I have the power. No, he wasn't

  599. talking about that. He was talking about that

  600. the counsel that they were giving, that there

  601. was nothing that they wouldn't try to do to reach

  602. and communicate with something that was not holy.

  603. Are you there? And in that process, he did what?

  604. He came down and he confused their language as

  605. you read it. And that's why it's called the Tower

  606. of Babel. The language that they had to form

  607. unity, strength, faith in it, he now did what?

  608. He dispersed it. And he had already prepared

  609. that the continents were separated. And they

  610. did what? They took their tribes. They took their

  611. clans. And they spread out over the face of the

  612. earth because they couldn't stand it. One was

  613. speaking Chinese. And the other was speaking

  614. Indian. Right? And the reality is they didn't

  615. understand each other. Okay? Sorry. I'm trying

  616. to make it fun here. Interactive. Here we go.

  617. You should have seen some eyebrows go up on that.

  618. Anyway, the reality is they did what? They scattered

  619. and the project stayed left abandoned. But it

  620. wasn't abandoned because the spirit had already

  621. been released. And we would find the spirit of

  622. Babel or Babylon that would now be the thread

  623. and theme all the way through until we get...

  624. to the book of Revelation. Now, it's important

  625. because Genesis 12 is the breaker and the key

  626. point of Revelation. Meaning, when they scattered

  627. the nations, it was this. It was like this. God

  628. turned in essence and said, go pursue the gods

  629. of your own heart. Now you'll not read a chapter

  630. and verse that, but that is in essence what he

  631. did. Because when you go to Genesis 12, what

  632. did he do? He abandoned all the 70 nations that

  633. are listed in Genesis 10, and he finds a moon

  634. worshiper. In Ur of Chaldees. Now, can I tell

  635. you? Ur of Chaldees is where? Modern day Iraq.

  636. He finds a moon worshiper out of the Chaldeans.

  637. That was the God that they served. Listen. did

  638. the Chaldeans even get? Well, anyways, moving

  639. on from all the families in the earth, what were

  640. they worshiping? We see in Genesis 12, they'd

  641. abandoned Jehovah and Yahweh to do what? The

  642. worship, the moon. And God found Abraham whose

  643. heart was right. And he said, what? Get out of

  644. your country. I'm quoting straight out of Genesis

  645. 12 chapter verse three. Get out of your country,

  646. out of your father's house into a place that

  647. I will show you. And I will make you a father

  648. of many nations. And those who bless you shall

  649. be blessed and those who curse you shall be cursed.

  650. And in your seed, all the families of the earth

  651. will be blessed. If you don't understand that

  652. language, you don't understand your covenant.

  653. Because that covenant was where God said, if

  654. all the other nations and all the other lineages

  655. want to follow all these ones that fell and try

  656. to make themselves gods, and they've chosen in

  657. their heart to deny me, I'm going to give them

  658. up. It's Romans 1, folks. Read Romans 1 again.

  659. I'm going to give them up to the desires of their

  660. heart to pursue what is inside of them, and I'm

  661. going to turn them over that they won't even

  662. be able to find their way back. And I'm going

  663. to choose Abraham. And as Abraham believed God,

  664. God counted it to him as righteousness. And from

  665. that point, God developed the nation out of Abraham.

  666. And so when you look at Abraham as a type and

  667. shadow, he represents what? The father. Of our

  668. faith. Now I'm not saying he is the father. I'm

  669. not saying Isaac is the son. I'm not saying that

  670. Jacob is the Holy Spirit. It's type and shadow.

  671. What did the father God do with Abraham? He promised

  672. him a son. And when Abraham tried to manifest

  673. a son. Through Sarah's language. It's not happening.

  674. We're too old. I'm past time. Just take my handmaiden.

  675. That never works. You just need to ask yourself

  676. one question. What part of negotiation with God

  677. when you tried to make it happen has ever blessed

  678. you? Never happens. So he had to say, Ishmael,

  679. I'm going to bless because it came from you,

  680. Abraham, because I'm determined to bless you.

  681. But if I hadn't already determined, I would be

  682. pretty ticked with you. But I'm going to bless

  683. Ishmael, but he's not your son. And they send

  684. Ishmael away. And there's a whole truth about

  685. that. So God waits longer. I don't know about

  686. you, but this was part of the supernatural reality

  687. of where our covenant comes from and why you

  688. can begin to believe God. How many 90 -year -old

  689. women in this room would like to say, God, give

  690. me a baby? And I'm trying not to be crass, but

  691. that was Sarah's argument. Oh, you're going to

  692. wait now? Now that I'm dry? Now that the milk

  693. has curdled? Come on. Come on, we're getting

  694. real in church here. Now you're going to give

  695. me a son? You see, folks, God had to step in

  696. beyond until what? Until Abraham and Sarah had

  697. no way of pushing their fleshly ideas and actually

  698. had to have a platform that only God could do

  699. it. It's the only way it could happen. And God

  700. covenanted with that son and the promise of how

  701. God walked Abraham and grew Abraham. And then

  702. what? He sent Isaac, the promised son. And what

  703. did Isaac have to do? Isaac had to covenant with

  704. God again. And God came to Isaac the same way

  705. he came to Jacob. And Isaac had to take a wife

  706. from his what? From his own kind. Not an outsider.

  707. Then after Isaac and Rebecca had twins. One proved

  708. to be a son of the earth and flesh who the Bible

  709. ends up saying as Esau was a fornicator and a

  710. selfish person versus Jacob who started with

  711. deception, learned to lean on the Lord and value

  712. the covenant. And that's the promise that Paul

  713. through the Holy Spirit is making reference to

  714. saying for the sake. of election. They are beloved

  715. for the sake of the fathers. It was the promise

  716. to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob representing

  717. the 12 sons that went in. That promise to them

  718. is why God is being faithful to their offspring

  719. that have hardened their heart and don't believe.

  720. Please hear me say that. That's the answer. To

  721. some of these things that you're hearing in podcasts.

  722. And people that are trying to throw out the.

  723. Not. It's not the political Israel. It's not

  724. the Knesset. It's not. Yahoo. Okay. It's not

  725. any of those guys that. The Bible is saying because

  726. of political Israel. No, no, no, no. For the

  727. sake of the fathers. He has given favor and continues

  728. to uphold his promise waiting for the fullness

  729. of time. And the question is this. If he would

  730. shuck that promise, then what would he shuck

  731. with us? You need to really grasp that. If God

  732. is faithful to his promise, promised to the what

  733. he made to Abraham Isaac and Jacob and he said

  734. no to that that doesn't mean that all of Israel

  735. will automatically get it get into heaven no

  736. because you have to accept Jesus Christ he add

  737. that you have to but but even still the fact

  738. that God cares about them and leaves that opportunity

  739. for the Holy Spirit to keep wooing them is the

  740. very reason that you and I have been saved and

  741. can believe that God's heart is for us. And he

  742. won't change his mind. Now this is so important

  743. as we get to now the chapter that I wanted to

  744. get to. John chapter 4. Let's get there. John

John 4 chapter mention John 4 chapter mention

  745. chapter 4. Now Jesus is dealing with the Samaritan

  746. woman. And I believe this passage is probably

  747. one of the most critical passages in the New

  748. Testament. It's probably one of the most preached,

  749. but it's the one most underdeveloped of the treasure

  750. that's in it. Jesus comes to the Samaritan woman.

  751. Now you have to understand, the Samaritan woman

  752. is a product of mixture. She comes from a lineage

  753. of people that refused out of Israel. That refused

  754. to obey God. They got judged first. Assyria came

  755. in and scattered them to pagan lands and issues.

  756. And the Jewish people were driven. And the tribes

  757. of Israel that used to be ten. Ten tribes were

  758. circumnavigated all around the globe. Only two

  759. tribes remained loyal. The tribe of Judah. The

  760. Samaritans were part of the ten that got dispersed.

  761. So here she's coming to the well and the Jewish

  762. son of God is at the well. There's so much more

  763. I can say, but this woman was mixed in every

  764. capacity. She was mixed. In her cultural understanding.

  765. She was mixed in her religious understanding.

  766. She was mixed in her moral understanding. She

  767. was mixed in community understanding. That's

  768. why she was coming alone in the heat of the day.

  769. It's like in Arizona. You don't go out at two

  770. in the afternoon just to play in the yard in

  771. the summer. Unless you want to call yourself

  772. lobster. The reality is she was coming in the

  773. heat of the day to do work. That's not normal.

  774. And so Jesus sitting at the well, and I'll just

  775. use that and jump in here. He says, if you knew

  776. the gift of God and who it was that was saying

  777. to you, give me a drink, you would ask of him

  778. and he would have given you living water. I want

  779. you to say this with me, if you knew. If you

  780. knew. If you knew. Means what? A lot of us are

  781. like the Samaritan woman with our understanding

  782. of God. We've received a lot of mixture. We've

  783. put together Little cute sayings. We've put together

  784. maybe some understandings from those that walk

  785. before us. And because we haven't really read

  786. the Bible and really dove in to search it out

  787. for ourselves, we've found the easier track of

  788. just gleaning a little here and gleaning a little

  789. there. And most Christians in today's Western

  790. culture have what I call a spiritual potpourri

  791. of understanding of who God is. And there's no

  792. difference. Jesus could be talking to 2026 right

  793. now. Fact is, he is as much as he was talking

  794. in 4 AD. He said, if you knew. If you knew the

  795. gift of God and who it was that was saying it

  796. to you. You see, the first thing that Jesus is

  797. trying to get to a woman that had mixed parts

  798. of her life in every category His first job wasn't

  799. trying to just fix the mixture. His first job

  800. was to do what? Is to reveal himself that God

  801. wants to give something to you. Now, if you've

  802. been ostracized by some of the choices you made,

  803. if you have experienced some things from people

  804. and life has not gone well, because remember,

  805. Jesus is gonna find out. That she'd been married

  806. five times and the man she was with was not her

  807. own. That means she's on number six and she's

  808. chosen to just set aside what should be done.

  809. She's living in a state of mixture. But God moves

  810. right past the mixture at the first part and

  811. he gets right into the core and he's saying,

  812. if you knew the gift of God and who it was, who

  813. it was that was saying to you, give me a drink,

  814. you would have asked. Meaning, you don't know

  815. the God that I know that's a gift giver. And

  816. his whole nature is different than what you've

  817. been told. His whole nature is different than

  818. what you've been told. You see, the nature of

  819. the Father, what Jesus was trying to reveal is

  820. the nature of the Father himself is that he wants

  821. to give of himself. God is not like us at the

  822. core. At the core, I'm gonna, see how I'm gonna

  823. pick on you here. Because you got hair. That's

  824. why, that's why I'm picking on you. Okay, not

  825. messing with you. At the core, We're selfish,

  826. aren't we? That's the difference why we need

  827. the transformation power of Christ is to change

  828. the nature of what we were born with. It isn't

  829. about color of skin. It's about all of us having

  830. what? A heart that serves self first. That's

  831. not who God is at the core. Who God is at the

  832. core is a giver of himself. We don't understand

  833. that because we constantly default to our own

  834. thinking that we have to do something to keep

  835. what is ours. That is not the nature of who God

  836. is. God is the source of all. He doesn't experience

  837. lack ever. And therefore, Jesus was trying to

  838. explain by asking this question to the Samaritan

  839. woman to get her to come out of her framework

  840. where everywhere she turned, all she's getting

  841. what is leftovers. You understand that? She's

  842. leaving leftovers and she's getting leftovers.

  843. And God moves. He doesn't come and start arguing

  844. with her, trying to pull the mixture out immediately.

  845. He first comes to her by identifying himself

  846. that the one who's standing in front of you,

  847. if you knew his nature, there would be something

  848. in you automatically to ask. There would be no

  849. reproach. There would be no, I'm not sure if

  850. he'll accept me. There would be none of those

  851. thoughts. You would know who he was. The second

  852. thing that Jesus does by standing there is he

  853. would let this woman know that God wants to be

  854. known. Because her next argument was, well, you

  855. people worship over there and we worship over

  856. here. And I know that when Messiah comes, he's

  857. going to sort this all out. No, Jesus was saying

  858. that isn't what it is about. I'm here and God

  859. wants to be known. You don't have to travel to

  860. that mountain. You don't have to travel to that

  861. mountain. You don't have to go to that land.

  862. You don't make a pilgrimage to over here. And

  863. you don't have to make a pilgrimage over there.

  864. God is looking to come to you to be known. And

  865. he's saying this to the woman and to all the

  866. Gentiles. Then he says, go ahead. Thank you,

  867. sweetheart. And he says, okay. He says, when

  868. she makes that argument, the Jews worship on

  869. this mountain and we worship on this mountain,

  870. Jesus corrects her. So one time he moves into

  871. a correction. He said, my people know salvation

  872. is of the Jews. Why was he saying that? because,

  873. and I gotta end here, and I know I'm keeping

  874. you right up to time, and Pastor Trent's getting

  875. ready to come up. He validated something that

  876. we need to get, and I'm gonna use you guys as

  877. an example. He validated something that was in

  878. every Jewish person from the time of Abraham

  879. forward, and he called it out, and he was showing

  880. it to this woman. From the very beginning, seed

  881. of Abraham who was not a Jew who was made a Jew

  882. okay let's get that down he was made one through

  883. covenant and exchange he said from that point

  884. on listen he's saying salvation is of the Jews

  885. they knew are you ready they knew instinctively

  886. that they were a gift to the world Now you say,

  887. well, pastor, how are you getting up? Because

  888. if you, if you understand what God said to them

  889. over and over, especially, especially when he

  890. said you are to be my own special people, a holy

  891. race appointed. to minister to me. God said that

  892. over the children of Israel. And he said that

  893. they were to be what? That they were to be a

  894. witness and a light to the nations, to draw the

  895. nations who had partnered with darkness and dark

  896. spirits to come to the light. That's why when

  897. Jesus uses all the phraseology about you're the

  898. light of the world, he was borrowing from language

  899. that was part of a covenant responsibility. That's

  900. why he said, that's why in first Peter, when

  901. it said, hey, you are a holy race, a chosen generation,

  902. that was the same language that God used in Deuteronomy

  903. over God's people in Israel. Why? Because right

  904. from birth of their covenant in Abraham, Isaac,

  905. and Jacob, they knew from the time you were able

  906. to hear anything out of the loins of that family

  907. that came out of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, immediately,

  908. I'm going to say his name is David, David would

  909. have known, I'm a gift. That would have been

  910. in his DNA. I'm a gift. And everywhere I go,

  911. I've been given favor. Please hear me say that.

  912. Have you ever wondered why even though non -believing

  913. Jewish people have such favor and grace on their

  914. life? It's because right from birth. they have

  915. instinctively instilled in them based on an old

  916. covenant that they were a gift from God and everywhere

  917. they go, they had God's touch, presence, and

  918. favor. Even though like Paul, they were doing

  919. things in ignorance, it was what was instilled

  920. in them. Folks, you have a better covenant. Why

  921. is it? Why is it? That when we get born again,

  922. all we think about is self. You see, that's what

  923. happens in Western Christianity. Western Christianity

  924. only preaches. I get saved. Jesus is for me.

  925. He forgave my sin. Yes, that's true. That's the

  926. true portion. But you miss the other side. See,

  927. most of our Christianity focuses about us. If

  928. you think about how Christianity has been spread,

  929. it's about my fellowship time, my worship time,

  930. my issue with God, my going to heaven, my hell

  931. insurance paid up, so to speak. And it's all

  932. about me. But there's the other side. The other

  933. side was, hey, you're a gift. There should be

  934. something inside that when you're born again,

  935. a superior covenant, that right from the DNA

  936. of how you were born again, there should be something

  937. in you saying, I am a gift to the nations. I'm

  938. a gift to my region. I'm a gift because God is

  939. on me and everywhere I go, I carry his favor.

  940. If that's not operating, then we've got what?

  941. We've got barriers in our understanding of the

  942. gift giver himself. My job, one of them, is to

  943. preach the message to expose where you don't

  944. actually believe the gift giver completely. Where

  945. experience or voice or disappointment, or loss

  946. has come in and removed your understanding of

  947. the gift giver just back to salvation. The goal

  948. that the Holy Spirit is working in the church

  949. today is to what? Remove the pins that are only

  950. around salvation. and to bring his church into

  951. an understanding that, yes, salvation is the

  952. first unnecessary step, but you must trust him

  953. as the gift giver in everything so that what

  954. is of him and what is from him you desire. That's

  955. the goal. That's the goal of the Holy Spirit.

  956. That's the goal of understanding the Father,

  957. which makes you understand the Son, which now...

  958. brings you into partnership with the Holy Spirit

  959. that says, I trust the gift giver because the

  960. gifts that come from him are good. Would you

  961. pray with me this morning as Pastor Trent comes?

  962. Father, in Jesus' name this morning, we, I'm

  963. so grateful for those that are here. I'm grateful.

  964. for those that are pursuing you. Lord, I stand

  965. this morning and I begin to extend your invitation

  966. to those, Lord, who by circumstances, just like

  967. the Samaritan woman, have been mixed, mixed in

  968. their understanding, mixed through their experiences,

  969. mixed through brokenness, mixed. through betrayal,

  970. mixed through accident and injury, mixed through

  971. faulty understanding, and mixed through selfishness.

  972. But today, Lord, you do not withhold yourself

  973. and say, until you figure this out, I am restrained

  974. by your own mixture. No, Lord. Jesus said to

  975. the Samaritan woman, just like he says to us

  976. today, if you knew, the gift of God, and you

  977. knew who it was that is speaking to you right

  978. now. It's not Pastor Brad that's speaking. He

  979. has nothing to give, but Jesus has everything

  980. to give. If you knew the gift of God and you

  981. knew who it was was speaking, you would ask him

  982. and he would give you living water. You see,

  983. Jesus tells that Samaritan woman and he's telling

  984. us today, if you ask, he's not going to put up

  985. a bunch of restrictions. If you ask, he's not

  986. going to make you jump through hoops. If you

  987. ask, he's not going to viciously parade all of

  988. your mistakes before you. If you ask, he will

  989. reach in to who he is. and the gift that he is

  990. himself, and give of himself to you as God himself.

  991. God who gives the gift of God's grace, mercy,

  992. love, and fellowship. If you're here this morning,

  993. you say, you know what? I've never invited Jesus

  994. Christ into my life. I'm not talking about...

  995. External knowledge that you might believe that

  996. he existed or that even that he was born and

  997. that he came to die. It's wonderful that you

  998. believe that, but there has to be a personal

  999. knowledge that you welcome him and that you are

1000. willing to say, Lord, I want you in my life.

1001. I want to know you. That's why the scripture

1002. says, if you knew. not just have an idea of knowledge,

1003. but if you actually become acquainted with and

1004. have an experience with the one who is the gift.

1005. And I'm inviting you in the next few moments,

1006. if that's you, and you would like to get to know

1007. Jesus Christ because he desires to know you,

1008. this is him coming and sitting by the well of

1009. your life. This is him coming. and saying, I

1010. choose you. He invites you to himself. Maybe

1011. you're one that's walked away and been estranged

1012. for a while. This is Jesus inviting you back

1013. to that place of fellowship. Would you be so

1014. bold just to say, that's me right now. Just lift

1015. your hand. I'll send somebody to you. I'm not

1016. asking you to come to the front, but I will send

1017. somebody right now to pray with you and say,

1018. Lord, I want to know you and I want to be aligned

1019. and in right relationship with you. If that's

1020. you, would you just do that right now as I'm

1021. just making this plea? Thank you. Awesome. Thank

1022. you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. Thank you. Father,

1023. I pray over this congregation. I thank you. Lord,

1024. for hearts that hear, and Lord, I'm asking for

1025. you to do your work. Lord, you would cause us

1026. to want everything that is of God and from God.

1027. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for taking the

1028. time to listen to this week's message. We are

1029. so grateful for those who tune in each week and

1030. have given generously to this ministry. If you

1031. are in need of prayer, send us a text message

1032. at 541 -625 -1365. We would love to pray with

  1033. you.
