Christmas Carol | A Musical Adaptation

Christmas time.

What a cause for delight when all are reminded of love and of life.

Though many are hindered with pleasures pursuit.

This cow of Christmas is a story of true.

So as we begin this cable of truth about a man and his life and those in his view, this tale could be told about me or even you.

But for the sake of example, let's just call him Ebenezer Scrooge.

Cratchit! Has the East Side Orphanage made their payment yet?

Well, there are many things which have been a great blessing in my life that have never made me a financial prophet.

Every year when Christmas time approaches, I'm reminded of the sacrifice that God made to reach a man like me.

I ran so far away from God.

But God Himself came to earth to reach me.

So, while I may never grow rich from Christmas, I've been given the richest gift I could ever receive.

And every Christmas I'm reminded of it.

Why is it that all men are not saved?

Because God created us with a free will.

The ability to choose.

God is calling out to every man, offering to save them, to give them eternal life.

But the choice is ours to make.

It is too horrible that anyone should have to face so terrifying a destination as hell.

Every one of us every single one of us will one day face our death.

We will stand before the one who created us.

And we will be responsible for the choices that we have made.

That is the greatest question of all time.

If only he just accepted God's forgiveness.

And his time has run out.

Side by side will lay before the church of all who walks this earth.

When deeds are displayed and words are replayed by the God of the universe and to the romance He perches to the blood and ransom.

The celebration of my Lord has come into my heart.

Wasn't that great?

They've done so much work to get us to this place.

And they've done all that for what I'm about to do right now.

Because these next few minutes may be the most important minutes in some of your lives.

One of the things I love about the production, there's a line in there that the angel says to Scrooge at the very beginning.

She says, A choice will be required of you tonight.

And I think that's the same thing that's true for us who are here.

A choice is required of us tonight.

A choice.

And that is this.

What are we going to do with Jesus?

What are we going to do with the gift that God gave us in him?

See, here's the truth.

The Bible says that all of us have sinned, every single one of us in this place.

The Bible says all of us have gone our own way.

And because of that sin, it separates us from God.

So in the middle of that sin, Jesus Christ, God's only Son, came, lived a perfect life, and died a death.

Why?

To pay for our separation, to pay for our sin.

So there's a gift that's involved.

He wants us to be able to know God in a perfect way, in a way that only we can know him through Jesus Christ.

And so there's a gift, and that's the choice we have to make.

Are you going to receive that gift or not?

Just like here in a few days at Christmas, your family's going to get together and they're going to have a gift for you.

You can either take that or you can reject it.

One of the two.

So the choice is have you received that gift that God has for you?

God loves you so much.

And see, your life will be what you choose it to be.

And it'll all be dependent upon this choice right here.

Because God made us.

To know him, not to just live life and just suck in the air and take up space here on this earth and not have any meaning.

That's not living.

That's not what God intended.

God intended for us to know him in a good way, in a perfect way.

And the only way we can do that is if we know Jesus and receive that gift in our lives.

I'm not talking about joining the church, and I'm not talking about trying to do better and turn over a new leaf.

I'm not talking about that.

I'm talking about a time in your life when you're saying, Jesus, I want to receive you as my Lord and Savior.

Come and live in my life, forgive you my sin.

That's the choice.

So the good news is you can make that tonight.

I'm going to help you do that.

If you bow your head and close your eyes.

Whoever, any of us.

It doesn't matter what you've done.

You've done bad, a lot of bad stuff.

It doesn't matter.

Whoever, it does not matter.

God loves you no matter what.

Whoever will call, you've got to ask.

You have to ask him to come and live your life.

He's waiting on you to do that.

Call upon the name of the Lord.

You've got to be willing to give your life to him.

To say, Jesus, I want you to have control of my life.

And if you do that, the Bible promises you will be saved.

So I'm going to help you ask him to come and live in your life.

I'm going to say a prayer out loud.

And if you're here tonight, I want us all to say this prayer out loud together.

Even those watching on the web, say it out loud with me, all right?

And through this prayer, ask Jesus Christ to come and live in your life and forgive you of sin.

So let's all pray.

Let's pray this out loud.
