What’s Mine Is Mine

When I was a young child, I remember that a person asked what my name was.

And I wasn't able to pronounce the word Carlos.

So it came out like cash.

And my mother's friend automatically named me right there your cash.

They've never called me by my name Carlos.

Though some people imagine other reasons why everyone calls me cash.

But out of hearing my name so much throughout my lifetime, cash, I never imagined a cash cash asking for a loan.

So I literally had to learn to live like my name says in cash.

That's why I'm 50 years old of being free of debt.

I don't know anything on my credit card.

I don't know anything on my home.

I don't know anything on my car.

I don't know anything on my sanctuary.

I don't owe anything on our healing crusades.

I think that we need to exercise great control over our finances.

It's so delicious when you have to stay at home because you can't go to work and to know that nothing is going to affect you.

Because you don't owe anyone anything.

And God's called us all to experience that sensation.

It's beautiful.

It's like an adrenaline rush.

And we honor God that way.

How many are still in debt?

You gotta pay it up before.

But that's not today's message, so just breathe easily.

I've got two scriptures to share with you this morning.

Please turn with me to the book of Exodus, chapter 20.

And verse 17, please.

And just hold that verse there.

And now turn with me, please, to Luke chapter 10.

Luke 10 · chapter mention

Verses 30 to 35.

I'll bet you won't guess how many points I'm gonna cover today in my message.

Three.

Okay.

Lucas capital 10, verse 34.

Luke chapter 10, verses 30 to 35 says, Then Jesus answered and said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Now by chance a certain priest came down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked and passed by on the other side.

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.

So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

In this story, we find four characters, the thief.

Every movie has got a villain, right?

And we've got the villain here.

We've got the person that suffered the robbery.

And then we've got the priest.

And we can learn much from each one of these characters.

We're first going to learn something from the thief.

The thief is the one representing one of the most powerful and rampant attitudes on the earth.

To lead society to a very dangerous level.

When people are moved by covetousness for those things that don't belong to them, you can easily fall prey to being a thief.

The thief thought in his mind is mine also.

Let me just repeat it again.

When you start thinking that what's yours is meo is mine, it has to be mine.

The root of it is covetous of those things that aren't ours.

And verse 17.

The scripture that you teach us says the following: You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour's.

The Bible clearly conveys everything that we do have a right to.

But we'll never be able to obtain from our neighbor.

The Bible says you shall not covet or desire your neighbor's wife.

But it doesn't say you shall not covet your own wife.

You shall not covet your neighbor's house.

But it doesn't say anything about not coveting your own house.

The Bible gives us surprises.

And the surprises are found in the Bible.

But the Bible does say, don't covet that which is not yours.

Covetousness is the unbridled desire for something or someone.

The scriptures say that we should covet his word as you desire gold and silver.

If covetousness was wrong, the Bible would never say that we should covet his word.

With such a desire, unbridled.

I can't be coveting the wife that no is mía.

That is not my own.

And to stay away from that, I've got to covet even more so my own wife.

Women, if your man starts coveting you day in and day out, salta de alegría.

Start shouting for joy.

We can have nothing together.

We have nothing.

Some people have a ring size bed.

Because that's all they do is fight in bed.

And when I go out shopping, the first thing my mom tells me is don't be buying a big bed.

How do I can I explain to my mom lose?

The plans that we had in mind with Sonia.

She's my mama.

So my mother goes, don't be buying a large bed.

Be wise.

Buy a small bed.

But when we know the reason why God's given us that into our hands, something that isn't ours.

That's when we're understanding the true purpose of our wealth.

Remember as a young child, I would take all the money that my mom would give me for snacks and snacks.

You know, all the snack money.

And I would save it up.

My mom wouldn't know anything about it.

But when it gets cold for Christmas, I was just 12 years old.

I would take all that money I'd saved throughout the year.

And I would go out and buy new pairs of shoes.

I'm going to give this pair of shoes for the people that take care of the cars over there at the gym.

He said, But you don't have the same size.

And who told your mom that I was going to give him a used pair of shoes?

She goes, and where did you get the money to buy a new pair?

All the money that you've given me to eat.

I haven't eaten.

I'd rather see someone that's barefoot on the street.

To get a new pair of shoes than to enjoy a hot snack.

The other thing is of much more fulfillment for me.

I enjoy it more.

There are things that God clearly states in the Bible that are so powerful.

The Bible says he that gives to the poor lends to the Lord.

I remember the day I gave my life to Jesus and I read that scripture.

I was totally shocked.

I just refused to believe it.

Capable of collecting from God something that I gave to someone else.

So I prayed.

Everything that I've ever given to the poor.

And he answered, son, and I'd be incapable of ever not paying you back.

I don't need you to collect.

For all those people that have always sought to help your neighbor even as a child, you have no idea whatsoever.

It's not your ability.

It's not your intelligence that has brought you that wealth.

Wall Street might go down.

Banks might go under.

But your heavenly account will continue earning more interest.

Oh, just give me your best clap offering in this house.

Everyone on their feet, please.

And let's just pray.

And I would like to make this special prayer today.

Being generous isn't an obligation.

But it's a pleasure.

I remember telling my wife one day, we always dreamt our entire lives of saving up this amount of money.

Now my dream is the following.

Making the money is one thing.

But sewing it in love is a totally different story.

Do you know how many people there are in the world?

Thinking when they're going to make their first million.

We want to be part of the group that sewed it.

So my wife and I took all of our life savings and we sowed it.

We can't say one day we made it.

But we will be able to say one day we gave it.

We've got two things in common.

We're all gonna die one day.

We're not gonna be taking anything with us.

So just be sure of one thing.

What you're gonna leave behind.

Leave it in the right hands.
