Online Night of Worship

Hey everyone, we are so glad to have you with us for our night of worship here at Gateway Church.

It's gonna be an incredible night of worship.

And hey, I know originally we had scheduled for us to have nights of worship at all of our campuses, and obviously we couldn't do that because of how uh things are headed right now with COVID, and we're gonna pray uh at the end of tonight, we're gonna pray for healing, still healing for our nation, healing for the world, uh, for coronavirus and all this happening right now.

But I want you to know God's presence is not only here, uh here at this place, God's presence is right where you are, in the room where you are right now.

You know, Jesus, when he was talking to the Samaritan woman at the well, he gave us a great uh illustration, actually a great definition of what worship should be.

And he says in John chapter 4, verse 24, that God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.

John 4:24

That truly is worship.

But right before that, the Samaritan woman asked Jesus, and she said, Are we to worship?

I'm paraphrasing here, are we to worship here on this mountain in Samaria or in Jerusalem?

Jesus' response was basically saying, It doesn't matter where you worship, it's how you worship.

And so tonight I want to tell you, no matter where you are, it doesn't matter where you are, it matters how we worship.

So I want to invite you right now to just close your eyes, maybe extend your hands to the Lord, open up your hearts to God.

God's gonna do a great thing in the room where you are right now.

Let's invite him right now.

God, we we pray that your presence will be so strong right where we are.

We thank you for your presence, Lord.

We thank you for what you're gonna do in our hearts and on our lives over this next hour.

God, have your way.

Lord, we invite your kingdom to come in our rooms.

Let your kingdom come, your will be done right where we are, as it is in heaven.

In Jesus' name.

Amen.

You know, when we pray those things, truly we join our voices with the angels and the elders as they gather around the throne and with others all around the nation and around the world as we worship the Lord together.

Now, in our night of worship tonight, one of the things you're gonna uh experience is this.

We're going to take communion together.

So I want to invite you even now.

It doesn't have to be unleavened bread, and it doesn't have to be grape juice or whatever you're used to.

I want to invite you to go grab uh as soon as you can, just grab a piece of bread.

Maybe you may have a cracker, it could be a chip, whatever uh would would be to you representative of the of the body of Christ, and then grab something to drink as well.

It doesn't have to be grape juice, it could be another juice or or water if you don't have uh any of that.

So whatever you have, we're gonna take communion later in our night of worship.

But now let's open up our hearts, let's open up our our our uh uh our our voices, let's sing with all that we have.

Let's worship the Lord together now.

God, we're here to celebrate you tonight.

We're here to lift up your name and declare that you are worthy of our praise.

Thank you, Lord.

There's no shadow of doubt when we look to you now.

That's all that you've done.

Fulfilled in your grave, you've proven your love, must declare it.

You are faithful, faithful, all through the ages, through joy and through sorrow, faithful, faithful, grace for the team for tomorrow, faithful seasons have changed, Lord, you will remain steady and true, and day by day, your mercy away.

Each morning wake you for you are free for the ages to join this four, it's a faith, you are free, you are free, you are free for free, respond to the four distant joy for the day, break it's the faith for the faith for the pain for the pain for day Great is your faithfulness, Jesus And who can stop the Lord almighty?

I was a place for me.

No, we're not defined by the circumstances, no, we're not defined by the past, we're not defined by the uncertainty of the future.

We are his and his ours, I'm yours and you're my law.

No, no weapons for yes, your children will prosper.

Sing it out, I am chosen, I am chosen, not forsaken.

I am who you say I am, you are for me, you are for me, not against me.

The past doesn't matter anymore.

And what I did before, it's all passed away.

It's all passed away.

You know, I don't know if you can appreciate this, but I see a picture of Jesus just telling you, take a seat.

I've handcrafted a seat for you to sit in.

And this seat says, you're not what you did.

You're not what you were.

But you are who I say that you are.

And it's not because of you, because you couldn't have done it for yourself, but it's because I'm your champion.

And I went to the deepest place to bring back victory that you couldn't gain for yourself.

And so I want you to listen to these words one more time as we sing the chorus, and we'll sing and to sing with us.

Giants fall when you stand undefeated.

Every battle you want.

Sing straight to the king.

Sing, I am who you say I am.

You crown me with comfort as I am seated in the heavenly place, undefeated with the one who has comforted.

And I can walk away.

Not after I've seen you, I can walk away.

You've been so faithful.

And I can walk away.

I just wanna be I just wanna be there is nothing like I'm chasing God.

There is nothing like your love.

Nothing like Nothing like your presence, your goodness, your faithfulness, God, you're completely set apart in all your ways We call you holy, your holy holy holy Jesus salary, Jesus salary, Jesus.

It's not like it's nothing like the love And I just wanna be where you like God I just wanna be near your heart tonight, cause there is nothing like your love.

I've tasted and seen it, God, and there is nothing like your love.

Oh Jesus, we love Oh Jesus, we love you You're so worthy of a praise.

There's no one like you, there's no one like you There's no one better than you There's nothing better than you guys, and I'm tasting it seed Oh I'll testify tonight because I tasted it.

All the things of earth may just fade away because you've been so faithful, and you've been so good, you've been so good, you've been so good.

And the only thing I can come away with is the fact that he is good and his mercy endures forever.

And his goodness is surrounding you right now as we move into a moment of communion.

Take a moment if you need to go grab a cracker, some bread, some juice, whatever you have, it's just symbolic.

Because we're gonna take a moment and go a little bit deeper.

And there's a passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11 where Paul talks about this as it relates to just setting order of worship and as he walks through preparing them to really understand how to enter into communion and get the most out of that intimacy with Jesus.

He walks through a few different things that I think are relevant for us.

He he stops in one particular verse and he says, I hear there are divisions among you.

This is verse 18.

And I see, I hear there's a division among you when you come to meet the church.

And I I feel like there are a lot of people who have come to church and we'll be back.

We'll be back.

But there's a lot of times we've come to church, but we haven't addressed some things.

And do you know that division, whether it be from your brother or sister or even from God, can prevent you from going deeper into communion with Jesus?

And so he wants us to think about the things that are separating us from each other because those things the enemy wants to sneak into the church, and he addresses the things that we have allowed to divide us.

But there's some there's a key phrase in a few of these verses when he gets to verse 24 and he gave thanks to God for the bread, and he broke it in pieces and said, This is my body, these are the words of Jesus, which is given for you.

Do this in remembrance of me.

And then he does the same thing with the one, and he says, I want you to do this as often as you do it.

I want you to do this in remembrance of me.

The second thing I felt the spirit leading us to think about tonight is are we properly remembering Jesus?

We're gonna enter into worship, and at any moment, over the next song or so, I want you to take a moment and really think about Jesus.

Really remember what He did for you, what He's done for us.

He didn't just do it for me or you, He's He has done it for us, and there are people who are watching tonight who God's going to invade your home in that space and feel the room as you remember Jesus.

And so, at any moment, we're gonna do it here.

I've got my cup, we've got cups, and at any moment, just take a moment and commune with Jesus, okay?

Let's worship on the ground.

You have to come later.

Oh, who are we?

Oh who are Lord Come to the table come to the crypto.

Precious blood season.

It washes, it washes my soul.

There is a fountain filled with grace, runs like a river from heaven's veins.

This dream of mercy will never drive those on forever from Jesus, no blender.

There is nothing like you like seems together.

No precious is the flow that makes me know in washes, you know, I showed you.

Why can't you compare?

Oh, it's Jesus.

Yes.

Death could not hold you.

The veils are before you.

You silence the bust of sin and gray.

The heavens are alike.

The praise of life.

For you are tonight.

You have no problem.

You have no king.

There is power in the name of Jesus.

Come on, let's sing it out.

There is power in the name of Jesus.

There is power in the name of Jesus.

Come on, to break every chain, break every chain, break every chain, yeah.

That's a new day, just happen right now.

Come on, I'm playing, thank you, but we've done, I can't bring, I can fit, I can't be the name of Jesus, it's in the name of Jesus, yeah, it's in the name of Jesus, yeah, it's in the name of Jesus, it's in the name of Jesus, yeah, it's in the name of Jesus, yes, it is, it's in the name of Jesus, don't feel it, it's in the name of Jesus, it's in the name of Jesus, come on, hey, it's in the name of Jesus, come on in place of Jesus, it's in the name of Jesus, come on now, worship it, come on now.

Amen.

There's power in the name of Jesus to break every chain right where you are right now.

Just want to invite you to declare the name of the Lord, just say that the word Jesus.

Come on, let's declare his name together.

Jesus, come on, let's declare it again.

Jesus.

There's power in the name of Jesus, there's power in the blood of Jesus right where you are.

Let's just declare his name over our lives, over our families, over our households, over everything that concerns us, over our health.

Lord, we declare your name over everything in our lives.

We declare your name over our finances, we declare your name over our health, over our families, our sons and our daughters, over our husbands and our wives.

We declare the name of Jesus over everything that concerns our lives.

Lord, we say that you are the Lord of our lives.

We say, Jesus, your name is above every name.

Your name is above coronavirus, your name is above every disease and sickness and infirmity.

We declare, Lord, right now, your healing virtue.

If there is anyone sick right now, we declare your healing virtue.

Come on, let's just receive this healing power right now.

Lord, we declare your healing power right now in the name of Jesus.

We declare, Lord, you are the one that gives us our daily bread.

And part of our daily bread is your voice, Lord.

Thank you for your voice, for speaking to us, Lord, for declaring your truth over our lives.

We receive your word over our lives that you are the Lord of our lives in Jesus' name.

In Jesus' name.

Come on, let's declare it.

In Jesus' name, in Jesus' name.

Lord, thank you for your grace.

Thank you for your mercy.

Thank you for your power.

There is power in the name of Jesus.

And all of God's children say together, Amen, Amen, Amen.
