  1. What's going on everybody? You are now listening to the

  2. Lovequest International Church Sermon Podcast.

  3. It's a brand new season. Matter of fact, it's homecoming

  4. season. Sons and daughters are coming

  5. home. So you know what to do.

  6. Get your Bible, get your water, get some coffee, get some tea

  7. and get yourself ready to receive.

  8. The time is now and if you don't know the drill, then you better

  9. learn the motto. Did you love things, man?

  10. Nehemiah 4 I want to give you this little context about

  11. Nehemiah. Nehemiah was not a priest.

  12. Nehemiah was not a prophet. He was not particularly

  13. religious. Of the religious order, Nehemiah

  14. worked for a king, which means what?

  15. He was either government or the marketplace.

  16. Nehemiah is more like you than pastor.

  17. So the charge, the battle and the charge the bill is even that

  18. much more on you, us who sit on that side than on this side.

  19. So this message tonight is for you.

  20. No one's disqualified from it, no one's exempt from it.

  21. It's for everyone, and maybe even more so those that spend

  22. more time outside the church walls than inside the church

  23. walls. Secondly, battle and billing is

  24. about the false choice that people make between one or the

  25. other. I don't have time to come to

  26. church and to serve because I'm doing this in my life.

  27. I don't have time to battle and build.

  28. I ain't got time for it though. I got to give this up.

  29. God is saying in this time you got to learn how to battle and

  30. build because that's where your protection is, that's where your

  31. blessing is. That's where the power of God

  32. is. That's where your restoration

  33. is. You can't flip back and forth

  34. each time. Y'all seen the movies when the

  35. when the enemy guy runs out of bullets and then he goes to get

  36. another magazine, another set of bullets.

  37. It's when he runs out of what it takes to battle that he gets

  38. taken out. You can't pause between battle

  39. and building in this time because in the midst of your

  40. transition from one to another, that's opportunity for you to be

  41. taken out of your destiny, doubt of God's will for your life, and

  42. if not taken out, definitely to be delayed.

  43. So this message is for you who want to do one or the other.

  44. Who don't want to come to church and get rooted and serve, but

  45. want to spend your time making money and building up where you

  46. need to be over there. Or who want to come to church

  47. and serve all the time but don't want to take the gospel to where

  48. you live. Don't want to open up your

  49. mouth, don't want to encourage anybody.

  50. Don't want to win souls for for the Lord any place that you go.

  51. OK, in this day we got to do both battle and build.

  52. Amen. Next one.

  53. So we go to the scripture here. It's taken from Nehemiah chapter

    Nehemiah 4 chapter mention

  54. 4, and from that time forth, half of my service worked at the

  55. task and the other half held the Spears, Shields and bowls and

  56. coats of mail. The city is down, Jerusalem is

  57. down. Nehemiah has it on his heart to

  58. go rebuild the city because it's the home of his father's.

  59. His family's buried there and he and he got put it on his heart

  60. and he went to his king and said that he worked for.

  61. He said I want to go back and build my city and the king says

  62. I got your back. Whatever you need from me, you

  63. got it. So he's in the process of doing

  64. this now. OK, but this is important where

  65. we pick up at the point we pick up this scripture specifically.

  66. They've built half the wall. You got to learn how to battle

  67. and build, particularly when you've already had some success

  68. doing one or the other. The halfway point is out of time

  69. for you to coast. I'm feeling good.

  70. My my joy is up. I got time to miss church every

  71. two weeks and come only every other week.

  72. I'm just saying. So you have half that worked and

  73. half that killed Spears. That's the battle.

  74. And the bill since gone down the other piece of yellow.

  75. There everyone who worked with one hand.

  76. Everyone worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other

  77. hand. Everyone, Everyone.

  78. It's not the job of the worship team to do your battle and

  79. building for you. It's not the job of the pastor

  80. of the clergy. Your mama's prayers, your

  81. daddy's prayers, your uncle prayers, your Uncle Ray Ray

  82. prayers, cousin, whoever prayers you two minister, pray.

  83. It's not their job to battle and build for you.

  84. It's everyone's job, everyone's job to battle and build.

  85. Every builder had his sword girded by his side, every and so

  86. worked. That's all of our

  87. responsibilities. It's on all of us, particularly

  88. those of us that are out there in the marketplace, that see the

  89. destruction, that see the broken lives, that see the desperation,

  90. that sees the despair, that sees the fakery, the charades of

  91. happiness on your face, knowing you're crumbling inside and

  92. asking yourself, is there something more?

  93. There's a lot of folks sitting in offices right now.

  94. When you walk past, you see the light on the computer change.

  95. What does that mean? I just closed the window and the

  96. window they just closed is the window that says best way to

  97. kill yourself. And you walk past and they close

  98. because they don't want you to see what's on the inside.

  99. And you say, how's it going, Profits up, margins good.

  100. We're getting all our goals. Engagement is great.

  101. We get a lot of clicks and likes.

  102. You don't know what they're dealing with on the inside.

  103. That's why you got to take it to the marketplace and to the

  104. school place. With students in particular, the

  105. pressure to excel and perform in school is extraordinary.

  106. The verse 19 and I said to the nobles and officials and the

  107. rest of the people, the work is great and scattered go down to

  108. the yellow part or whatever place you hear the sound of the

  109. trumpet rally to us there. So while you're building and

  110. battling or by your battling and building you got to be listening

  111. for what God is saying Now you got to be listening.

  112. So let me give you an idea of what the 40 days is about and

  113. gathering in person. We go through our regular time

  114. battling building, go to church on Sunday at 1 experience and

  115. then maybe we double dip to two experiences.

  116. Maybe we go to. Work during the week.

  117. Maybe if we have a Wednesday or midweek experience, we go to

  118. that and we're doing that. Back and forth, rally around.

  119. We need to gather up every day for 40 days.

  120. There's a breach in the wall. The enemy's trying to plant

  121. something coming this way. When you hear the sound of the

  122. horn rally together, come run to the sound of the horn that we

  123. may stand together in the breach and overcome the enemy that's

  124. trying to attack us. That's what the 40 days of

  125. prayer and fasting is about. The in person gathering is

  126. about. It's the sound of the horn.

  127. So you can't just even get comfortable with doing your

  128. Sunday and then doing your Wednesday and doing your work

  129. the rest of the week. You got to be listening for the

  130. sound of the horn. So the title that I want to

  131. speak to you is Building Battle. Now the word is battle and

  132. build. Is there a difference?

  133. Just I want to start here and get there.

  134. OK? Build and battle.

  135. You have to understand that it's a family affair.

  136. The purpose of it is to build by 4 and through your bloodline.

  137. Building and battling is a family affair.

  138. It's by 4 and through your bloodline everyone say bye.

  139. Y'all got to speak faster because I'm on the clock.

  140. You gotta have give me energy. I can't talk.

  141. Stop and energy you for the second one.

  142. OK. Ready.

  143. It's by for and through your bloodline.

  144. My bloodline. Thank you very much.

  145. Newton Nehemiah 328 says this and above the horse gates.

  146. This is Nehemiah as he's in the city building the the walls and

  147. the gates above the horse keep. The priests repaired, everyone

  148. opposite his own house. The work you have to do in and

  149. around your house is what's going to be most important for

  150. this phase. It's great you want to battle

  151. and build overseas on a mission. It's great you want to battle

  152. and build. I'm going to come help you with

  153. your with your stuff. What about what's in front of

  154. your house? It's your ability to battle and

  155. build what's in front of your house that's gonna make a

  156. difference in getting this wall up, he says.

  157. In verse 13, he says So I set armed men behind the wall in

  158. places where it was least protected.

  159. I even thus use the people as families with their swords and

  160. Spears and bowls. It's a family affair.

  161. You can't quit on your bloodline 'cause it's a family affair.

  162. The battling and building is first and foremost to bring your

  163. bloodline through, but I also recognize this, he says.

  164. I use the people as families. When you come to this local

  165. church community, whether you have nobody or bunch of bodies,

  166. God can use you and us as a family if you let on, because

  167. the power in battling and building comes through the

  168. family. Remember the Lord, it says, and

  169. imprint him. Get him on your mind in a way.

  170. We can't be removed, right? How many y'all like tattoos,

  171. body art? OK, cool, cool, cool, cool,

  172. cool. Right.

  173. Right, Right. You ought to be as desiring to

  174. tattoo the imprint of God on your soul as you are to get your

  175. art. Be as picky about that as your

  176. art. Be as willing to show that as

  177. you do your art, discuss that as much as you do your art.

  178. Imprint him for and then he says this.

  179. Why fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your

  180. wives, your homes. It's about the family.

  181. Fight for each other. Build for each other.

  182. Battle for each other. Battle for my bloodline.

  183. I'll battle for your bloodline. I'm a battle for the uncle that

  184. left me. I'm a battle for the Mama that

  185. quit on me. I'm a battle for the daddy

  186. that's never around 'cause it's something bigger than just them.

  187. It's about my bloodline that's in the family.

  188. We'll see the restoration fully. Come.

  189. You have to be able to build as strong as you battle, and you

  190. got to battle as strong as you build.

  191. You got to build as strong as you battle and battle as strong

  192. as you build. You got to build as strong as

  193. your battle, and you got to battle as strong as you build

  194. first. Chronicles says this about

  195. Bowman's another country. We already told you there was

  196. half that was work and half with the weapons, right?

  197. Half suggests equality, parity. No difference in weight,

  198. influence or authority. First Chronicles 12 says this.

  199. They were bold men that could use the right hand and the left

  200. to sling the stones. You can't be able to build with

  201. your right and battle with your right.

  202. Build with your left, battle with your left.

  203. It don't matter which way it is. You got to be able to do it and

  204. everywhere. You have to be able to build and

  205. battle with the same strength and intensity.

  206. If you don't, you're giving the enemy and access to you.

  207. You're tired, you're battling, or you're weak on your building.

  208. You'll wear out your building knowing you're weak on your

  209. battling. You can't give them an edge, any

  210. way, shape, form or fashion. You have to build before you

  211. battle. Everyone say before you battle

  212. why you got to build before you battle?

  213. Because what's the point of the fight?

  214. There's nothing to build for. The build is why you're

  215. battling. What did he say?

  216. Fight for your families. Fight for your sons and for your

  217. daughters. Now, I didn't tell you this

  218. part, but part of what he said when he went to the king was

  219. this. The Sepulchres of my father's

  220. are in ruins. Fight for your bloodline.

  221. Fight for the people on whose shoulders that you stand.

  222. You're not here because of your own comfort.

  223. You're not here because of your own grace.

  224. You're not here on your own merit alone.

  225. You are here because you stand on the shoulders of others that

  226. have prayed for you, fought for you, declared for you.

  227. We are in this place because years ago, people who owned

  228. these businesses walked the streets and said, God, bring a

  229. church. God, create a witness.

  230. We stand on other people's shoulders.

  231. So fight for the legacy. I ain't going to let you down,

  232. Mom. I'm going to take it as best I

  233. can. Hey man, you have to build

  234. before you battle because that gives you a reason to battle.

  235. It also teaches you how to battle because of my battles

  236. that help protect what I'm building.

  237. If I'm building tall, then I know I got to have to what

  238. battle tall. So I'm not interested in things

  239. that distract me to try to battle wide.

  240. If I know my family broken with addiction, it's great that the

  241. end times are coming and Jesus and this and that and all that

  242. kind of thing. Cool.

  243. That's not why I need to battle right now.

  244. I need to battle in the area of addiction.

  245. So I'm going to get off YouTube, stop searching end times trying

  246. to get it all figured out in my pride and say God, I'm going to

  247. battle why I need to battle. I'm a battle, what you're trying

  248. to build, which is my family more than my religious thought

  249. base. Hey man.

  250. See, when you're part of the family, no matter what Home

  251. Alone, says the movie, your parents will remember you.

  252. Your protection and not getting left behind is to be a part of

  253. the family. Say LA, you use a shovel to

  254. build and use a sword to battle. OK, use a shovel to build and

  255. sword to battle, but don't get it twisted.

  256. I'm going to get through examples in just a bit of how we

  257. really apply this in our life. Someone asked me, So what does

  258. that mean? That you only use one thing to

  259. build and you can't use that to battle.

  260. Next slide. Now you can use a sword to apply

  261. mortar. You can use the tool you

  262. normally use the battle with to put.

  263. What's more, that's the cement that holds bricks together.

  264. Anyone ever turned a screw with a butter knife?

  265. That's an example. OK, you can use your sword to

  266. help you build, but you can also use shovel in a fight.

  267. You can hurt a man with a shovel.

  268. And I mean male and female and all other things in between.

  269. OK? I mean people, animals,

  270. everything, right? You can hurt somebody with a

  271. shovel, right? So we're not saying these are

  272. mutually exclusive, but we are saying understand that you can

  273. use one to do one thing, and there's something else that

  274. helps to compliment it in a certain way in a season.

  275. OK, you got it. So here's some examples.

  276. Worship builds prayer battles. Worship helps you focus on who

  277. God is, and you become stronger and builds the revelation of who

  278. he is in your relationship with Him on the inside of you.

  279. So when you go to prayer, you're praying with confidence, knowing

  280. what God has done. Worship helps to build you.

  281. Prayer helps you battle. Now can you battle with worship?

  282. Sure. But battling worship sounds much

  283. different than building worship. I also won't tell you that I'm

  284. making sense, right? But yeah, you can use you.

  285. You can use those things. But worship really helps to

  286. build, and prayer can really help you to battle in the way

  287. you need to. The purpose of prayer and

  288. battling is not Even so much all those people around you.

  289. It's your own insecurities. It's your own weaknesses.

  290. It's your own flesh. It's you doubting you.

  291. A lot of the purpose of prayer is to get rid of the tapes in

  292. your own head that you played, that you put that your family

  293. place and people who you let esteem who you esteem let place

  294. in you to say you can't, you won't.

  295. You ain't good enough. Or only if I'm with you when you

  296. make it that codependence. That's a lot of what the

  297. battling is for Thanksgiving bills and your testimony

  298. battles. Thanksgiving bills, your

  299. testimony battles. When you're thanking God.

  300. I'll skip the slide there. When you're faking God, you're

  301. saying this. God, I thank you for what you've

  302. done. You're remembering God's

  303. goodness. You're remembering His Amazing

  304. Grace towards you. It's building your confidence in

  305. that he did it, and it's confidence that he'll do it

  306. again. You're building your you're

  307. you're building who he is on the inside of you.

  308. And the fact that he has you, It's your building big.

  309. You're building him in you and building him through you.

  310. Now you battle with your testimony.

  311. How do you battle with your testimony?

  312. I'm sure how it works. God, I thank you that you've

  313. delivered me. He delivered me.

  314. He can deliver you. You see, I'm battling with my

  315. testimony now. You ain't too hard.

  316. You ain't too lost. You should have seen where I

  317. was. And by His grace, he picked me

  318. up and carried me right here. See, your testimony helps you

  319. battle. Which means if your testimony

  320. helps you battle, you always got a prayer on your lips.

  321. God, what you did for me, do for them.

  322. Why you did it in me. Do it for them now, if you

  323. really want to get agape with your battle, this is how you do

  324. it, God, How you did it for me. Do it better for them, God, how

  325. you did it for me. Do it shorter for them.

  326. God, how you did it for me. Bring more of their family with

  327. them than you did with me. Your testimony helps you to

  328. battle. Thanksgiving helps you to build.

  329. And I want to tell you something.

  330. How can you use? Again, I want to make sure it's

  331. clear we're not talking about these things as being wholly

  332. separate. You can use your Thanksgiving to

  333. battle. How do you battle using your

  334. Thanksgiving? Who?

  335. Who wants to play? Troy, come up here for me,

  336. please. I thank you that I'm free from

  337. everything you brought in my life.

  338. I thank you that I'm say I'm trying to get free from

  339. something. I thank you that I'm free.

  340. I thank you. I'm free.

  341. I thank you that I'm free. I thank you that I'm free.

  342. I thank you that I'm free. I thank you that I'm free.

  343. I try to walk away. I thank you that I'm free.

  344. I thank you that I'm free. I thank you that I'm free.

  345. I thank you that I'm free. I thank you That I'm free.

  346. That I'm free. That I'm free.

  347. I thank you Lord that I'm free from this.

  348. I'm free from this. Your Thanksgiving will be

  349. getting to wear out your enemies.

  350. It's alright enough. It's like when your kid is 3 and

  351. they're like Mama again, Mama again.

  352. Play the song again. Play the song again.

  353. Your testimony will battle for you.

  354. Your Thanksgiving will battle for you.

  355. Shout out to my boy. That's if you have a little

  356. That's what that's called. Everyone says we're about to be

  357. educated. That's called importunity.

  358. When you willing to keep thanking, thanking God for your

  359. freedom in the face of what's battling you to the point where

  360. it says, man, you gonna wear me out?

  361. I got to leave town now I'm gonna leave you alone with your

  362. healing 'cause. You're wearing me out with all

  363. that Thanksgiving. It's called importunity.

  364. I won't give up. I won't quit until I see the

  365. goodness of God in the land of the living.

  366. Tithing builds, offering battles.

  367. Tithing helps you remember how good God has blessed you.

  368. Tithing was Abraham's idea. He came from a big battle.

  369. He saw Melchizedek coming down. Melchizedek, the high priest of

  370. God, the God Most High. A symbol and type of Jesus said,

  371. I'll bless you, and out of the gratitude of the blessing and

  372. recognizing what that meant, he said, I'll give you a tithe.

  373. I want to give you a 10th. 10th partly means complete.

  374. I know that you may have blessed me in one area, but your

  375. blessing extends to every area of my life.

  376. Your blessing is more complete than any battle, than any

  377. victory, any paycheck, any freedom, any deliverance.

  378. The blessing of God on my life. Tithing helps you build, your

  379. offering helps you, helps you battle.

  380. How do you know? When Abraham came to

  381. Melchizedek, he gave him a tithe out of Thanksgiving for the

  382. blessing. You got it.

  383. But when it came time in the war for his legacy, he offered up

  384. his son as a seed. See, the seed helps you fight

  385. the secrets. War creates a space.

  386. It goes all day back to Genesis that when man had failed and

  387. lost a blessing. The enemy say battle is on with

  388. the sea baby 'cause it's gonna be one that's gonna come gonna

  389. destroy you, my brother. Or if he was a brother, I don't

  390. know who how you characterize Satan anyway, but he didn't pay

  391. anyway. God is saying, Listen man, I'm

  392. gonna notice that happened. I'm gonna send a seed.

  393. A seed can be a person, but a seed can also be a gift.

  394. It can be whatever you want to give unto the Lord.

  395. It's money, It's time. It's it's Thanksgiving.

  396. It's praise. It's everything in our life can

  397. become a seed that can battle for us.

  398. So understand, when we have time to give, like we have in the

  399. remedy campaign, that's God saying to us, put your seat to

  400. work, Nehemiah said this. Let us do our part, and God will

  401. fight for us. Put your seed to support the

  402. work of God in rebuilding the wall and what that can mean to

  403. the community. And watch God fight for you on

  404. behalf of that seed that you sow.

  405. Amen. We'll go through a few examples.

  406. Number one, here's an example with God.

  407. God made the earth. That's called building after you

  408. make the earth. Genesis 11 He said in Genesis

  409. 1-2 now the earth was in chaos. So God said what?

  410. Let there be light. First he built.

  411. God created the heavens and the earth and then when disruption

  412. entered He said, I'm a battle with light, with revelation,

  413. with understanding my presence. Adam did the same thing.

  414. He did the same thing with Adam. He said this what Adam be

  415. fruitful build but also so do it.

  416. That's the battle part. What what am I trying to do with

  417. this. I'm trying to give you examples

  418. that build your momentum of a successful pattern of

  419. effectiveness. OK, I'm trying to do something

  420. better for you than what GPS does.

  421. When you on your way somebody what you do, you plug in GPS

  422. coordinates and say what? And GPS says, says, says this to

  423. you based on the pattern of those people that have gone

  424. before you. I am telling you it's safe to

  425. travel through here and you'll arrive in X amount of minutes.

  426. And you so believe that that you will say to people, I'll be

  427. there at 2:37. I'm trying to let you know this

  428. is better than GPS coordinates. God has been using this

  429. combination of building and battling, building 1st and

  430. battling all throughout time, all throughout the covenant, all

  431. throughout history. If God did it, then it's

  432. available for me and I'll get God results.

  433. If Adam did, it's available for me.

  434. I get Adam results. If Moses did it, it's available

  435. for me. I get Moses results.

  436. If Jesus did it, it's available for me.

  437. I get Jesus results. God's trying to give you the

  438. cheat code of how to stand in this time and how to rebuild

  439. that which has been torn down in your life.

  440. It's a pattern and it's proven completely, totally man.

  441. One more I want to go to you is this Jesus.

  442. Jesus as the lamb came to build, he came to build who we were,

  443. came to restore, restore our relationship with God.

  444. But guess it says what? He's coming back as a lion.

  445. He ain't coming back to build. He coming back to battle.

  446. Build my people first. Now I'm going to come back to

  447. battle and make sure we get everything that belongs to them.

  448. And they have everything that I promised for them.

  449. Man, building is the why you battle.

  450. We talked about that, right? But building also draws the

  451. battle. Say draws the battle.

  452. If you don't want to battle, don't build.

  453. I guarantee you you won't have any battles.

  454. But you won't have nothing either.

  455. You won't have nothing for now, nothing for later, Nothing to

  456. pass on, nothing to give. OK, But you won't have any

  457. battles, though. Building draws battles.

  458. Pastor said this, that we're ready for the blessing.

  459. We're also ready for the battle. Nehemiah says this.

  460. Nehemiah, I think 46 says this. So we built the wall.

  461. All of it was joined together at half its height.

  462. Man, this half part was pretty easy.

  463. I don't feel any obstruction. I don't feel anything.

  464. I don't have to learn how to battle.

  465. I just focus on building. I'm going to leave my sword at

  466. home because we've had some success.

  467. But watch out. He goes on to say this though.

  468. Those fellas I listened to, they heard that the walls of

  469. Jerusalem were going up, that the breaches were closed, and

  470. they became very angry. Their bat, their building,

  471. attracted a battle and the success of their building

  472. attracted a battle. And notice one of the responses

  473. to them was to do what? To try to cause confusion and

  474. failure in it. What's failure?

  475. Fatigue. I'm going to get you confused

  476. and get you to quit. That's one of the tactics that

  477. undermine your building. So you got to learn how to

  478. battle those things. Battle confusion, battle

  479. fatigue, Worship helps you battle confusion and prayer

  480. helps you battle fatigue, all the things we're talking about.

  481. So building will draw a battle. Building is the reason for the

  482. battle. So not only is building the why

  483. you battle, what's the reason for the battle.

  484. I want to go to the next slide that talks and touches on but is

  485. there a difference between building and battling and

  486. building, battling and building? Is there a difference?

  487. Yes, there is a difference between building and battling.

  488. And when I saw the Lord say Lord, is there a difference

  489. between the two? I thought God was saying, yeah,

  490. there's difference, OK, And here's and here's what I got.

  491. What's the difference to share with you?

  492. Building before battling is when you're trying to do something in

  493. your generation. We got to build something,

  494. right, in our context, and that gives us not only equipment to

  495. battle, preparedness to battle, but it's going to draw a fight

  496. to battle because we're building something for our generation,

  497. and that's great. So we got to build first before

  498. you battle. But if all the time you're

  499. always building first before you battle, understand, you're

  500. really just focusing on your generation, OK?

  501. Right. But battling before building is

  502. when you focus on the next generation.

  503. OK, here's how it works. When I'm worshipping God, you're

  504. God, Great God almighty, You're doing amazing things.

  505. God and I pray that we receive everything we need to receive in

  506. the midst. I pray the enemy's bounds so we

  507. can continue our work. That's building and battling for

  508. now, not only before. Billy looks like this.

  509. Father, I want to pray for the next generation coming.

  510. Father, I thank you even before they hear, hear.

  511. Equip them, Protect them. Watch out for them, Care for

  512. them. Save them, deliver them.

  513. Give them places to encourage their life.

  514. Your prayers can go ahead to battle for the next generation.

  515. And if we did more battling for the next generation, the next

  516. generation would have an easier time to start to build for their

  517. generation. There is a difference.

  518. So in this love, love, quest, context, you want to see us do

  519. both. We want to do some building

  520. before battling. We're also going to do some

  521. battling before building because we believe what God's trying to

  522. establish here in our context and what God's calling us to, is

  523. something that's going to go beyond our lives, but for

  524. generations to come. There's specific things we're

  525. going to battle for through prayer, battle for through our

  526. giving, battle for through our service, battle for through our

  527. fasting, for those generations that are coming so they can walk

  528. into a better footing, a better blessing, walk into greater

  529. clarity and greater efficiency for what God's calling them,

  530. calling them to do. Here's an example from the

  531. scripture I want to share with you, John 17 This is Jesus

  532. battling before building. OK, When?

  533. When Jesus has spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to

  534. heaven and said, Father, thou has come, glorify and exalt in

  535. honor and magnify your Son so that your Son may glorify and

  536. stole and honor and magnify you, just as you granted him power

  537. and authority over all flesh, so that he may give eternal life to

  538. all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, to

  539. know you the one only true in real God, And likewise said, no

  540. him, Jesus the Christ, the not the one who you sent.

  541. I've glorified you down here on earth by completing the work you

  542. gave me to do. I built.

  543. Now, Father, glorify me along with yourself, and restore me to

  544. the majesty and honor Your presence which I had before the

  545. beginning of the world. I've manifested your name to

  546. them, to your people. They were yours.

  547. You gave them to me, and they have obeyed and kept your word.

  548. Now they know an understanding they've given them.

  549. No one understand the words you gave me.

  550. I've given them, and they've received and accepted and have

  551. come, continue to know positively to positively and in

  552. reality that I came forth from your presence.

  553. And they have believed and are convinced that you did send me.

  554. I am praying for them. You hear the battle.

  555. I am praying for them. I'm not praying for the world,

  556. but for those you've given me. All of mine are yours and yours

  557. are mine, and we're going to stop there.

  558. But Jesus goes on to pray is this.

  559. I'm praying for them. When the enemy comes, keep them.

  560. I'm praying for them. When the work gets hard.

  561. Let them know you love them as much as you love me.

  562. Be with them as much as you going to be with me.

  563. I'm praying. I'm battling first because it's

  564. not about me here. It's about them carrying on the

  565. work. And if you get a little farther

  566. down, it says this. And I pray not only for these

  567. that are in my presence, but for all of those that will believe

  568. on me through the work that they do.

  569. That means you, you, you, you and me.

  570. Jesus was battling for you in that moment.

  571. Amen. Then he went to acts.

  572. He prayed to battle, and in acts two he began to build.

  573. So when suddenly they came aside from heaven like the Russian of

  574. a violent Tempest blast, it filled the whole house in which

  575. they were sitting. And there appeared to them

  576. tongues resembling fire, which was separated and distributed,

  577. which set on each one of them. And they were filled with the

  578. Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit

  579. gave them utterance. Keep going Now they were

  580. residing then in Jerusalem, Jews devouting God, free men from

  581. every country under heaven. And when this sound was heard,

  582. the multitude came together, and they were astonished and

  583. bewildered, because each one heard the apostle speaking in

  584. his own language, particular dialect, and they were beside

  585. themselves with amazement, saying, Are not all these who

  586. are talking Galileans? Then how is it that we hear each

  587. of us in our own tongue through which we were born?

  588. You keep posting up to list a lot of people there, right?

  589. Then. Then how is it that we hear each

  590. of us in our own tongues? Keep going.

  591. Next one. All over the globe.

  592. It's important. All over the globe.

  593. All over the globe. OK, tell me, if the mighty works

  594. of God, then what are they telling us?

  595. The mighty works of God. The mighty work that's called

  596. building. They're telling us the mighty

  597. works of God, who God is, right? And they were beside themselves

  598. with amazement. And we're puzzling and beworded,

  599. saying one to another, what can this mean?

  600. Keep going Down, brothers. Others made a joke of it.

  601. One of the ways that enemy caused you to stop building is

  602. to ridicule. You make a joke of what you're

  603. doing, who you think you are. I know where you come from.

  604. We used to get high together. Come on.

  605. What? You think you're all that?

  606. Now? We're going to stop there.

  607. But I will tell you this. You know what it goes on to say

  608. that Peter get up to preach and when he preached the power of

  609. God came and because God of the prayer of Jesus in John 17 the

  610. outpouring the bill came in Acts 2.

  611. With all the language required to start it.

  612. And in that moment people heard the gospel preached in all

  613. language, they gathered there from all over the world, and

  614. this was the cry in different languages.

  615. What must I do to be saved? Imagine one man preaches in a

  616. moment and people from Italy says in Italian, what must I do

  617. to be saved? And Croatians say what must I do

  618. to be saved? And languages all throughout the

  619. earth being a cry, what must I do to be saved?

  620. And in a moment it says I think a few thousand were added to the

  621. church because the battle had already been won in the prayer

  622. before the building came and asked.

  623. Because it wasn't about Jesus being here.

  624. It was about what happens when I go.

  625. I prayed before I left in order to build the next generation

  626. after I'm gone. We're called to build and to

  627. battle, but that also leads us to battle and build for the next

  628. generation. And that's a place where prayer

  629. in particular has a unique space and place and ability to

  630. accomplish that task. So I want to just say this,

  631. here's our charge, say my charge, say my part.

  632. Understand this, before coming home, somebody got to build a

  633. home. That's why we're battling and

  634. building. That's why we're building and

  635. battling. The Lord want me to share this,

  636. he said. This build the house because

  637. they coming. Build the walls because they

  638. coming. Build the gates because they

  639. coming, they coming. So you want to build ready.

  640. You want to battle ready because they coming, they coming, they

  641. coming, they coming, they coming.

  642. So feel like they coming battle like they coming feel like they

  643. coming in a short time and battle like they coming in a

  644. short time because the urgency with which you build in battle

  645. can often quicken and hasten their pace of getting here.

  646. So you always want to remember you going to build ready, you

  647. going to battle ready, as well as every other kind of ready,

  648. 'cause that's the kind of people we are.

  649. Amen. Amen.

  650. Come on up. Not right.

  651. Not right here. What you see right here is this

  652. build or is this battle what you think?

  653. It's both. But I'm going to tell you, I can

  654. battle some stuff with this that I can't build with it.

  655. Father, we thank you. We thank you for what you're

  656. doing, God. Hopefully you've received

  657. something tonight that have transformed your life, changed

  658. your life. Because that was the intent.

  659. We can come and just listen. We can come and be changed.

  660. The one part I didn't tell you about Nehemiah is that there was

  661. some who watched the people build with swords on their hips

  662. and sat back and didn't do anything.

  663. And when the wall was built and the gates were set, they were

  664. protected. But you know what they didn't

  665. get is what happens in the other chapters of Nehemiah, where the

  666. Spirit of God lists the Richmond family helped build the wall.

  667. Swain family helped build the wall.

  668. It's listed there, the families you stood up, the ones that

  669. didn't receive the blessing, but they never received the full

  670. testimony, to never receive that acknowledgement by God, that

  671. eternal gratitude that comes with him.

  672. Having said, I want you to know how grateful I am for what you

  673. did as a family, so you can sit and not partake of the building

  674. or the battling and you'll still be.

  675. Protected long as you stay close.

  676. But how much better it is for your children to go up and say

  677. that's MyHeritage, that's whose shoulders I stand on.

  678. It's in me, it's in me, it's in me.

  679. I won't let you down. I'll pick up the mantle.

  680. I'll carry it for you. And sometimes, as it happens,

  681. when generations get missed, a grandparent passes before a

  682. grandchild can really know them. The grandparent passes.

  683. The parent can take their child and say he didn't know you Your

  684. granddaddy, what a fought. Let me tell you, you should be

  685. who he is. This wall was built.

  686. See that name right there? That's your granddaddy.

  687. That tells you everything you need to know about him.

  688. He did it with his hands. He did it building.

  689. He didn't fight. He wouldn't give up.

  690. Because he was thinking about you.

  691. That's where you come from. Be a legacy.

  692. Be a testimony. Just don't sit and receive the

  693. benefit. Get your name in there.

  694. For those don't know about talking about something, put

  695. your name on a gold plaque. I'm talking about in heaven what

  696. God says Thank you. That's what I'm talking about.

  697. You'll have an opportunity. Just a moment, Think they're

  698. going to bring the tables up? We're going to have some

  699. opportunity for our remnant giving.

  700. It's for finishing the work next door so we can do more, so we

  701. can grow more and serve more and love more, so we can have shifts

  702. and be open all night if we need to.

  703. We encourage you to listen to what God is asking you, how to

  704. participate and understand. It's not about what you have,

  705. it's about what you're willing to let God get through you.

  706. Because God can speak something to your heart, and in the midst

  707. of speaking that to you, He's showing you what he's going to

  708. do in your life in a way that you never expected.

  709. It's just for you to open up your hearts for God to fulfill

  710. His promise to you. So we're going to encourage you

  711. to be generous during that time. If you want to proceed and give

  712. with your regular ties and offerings, you can do so in the

  713. back. We ask you to bring the Remnant

  714. giving up here at this time so we have an opportunity to put

  715. into practice what we're just talking about.

  716. Building and battling, worshipping and praying, putting

  717. it together. I love it when we can give

  718. action to the Word, because the Bible says that God comes to

  719. watch over His word to perform it.

  720. Hey man, and I will tell you this, you need both.

  721. You got to be equally strong at both.

  722. Now we're battling through our giving, but you can battle

  723. through praying. God bless that Givi.

  724. God increase, send more givers. God let me be able to

  725. participate in a greater way next time.

  726. God you can build by opening your mouth to worship the Lord

  727. in this moment as our worship team sings and leads us in.

  728. This time you don't have to be left out if you don't want to be

  729. left out, but you are going to have to open up your mouth.

  730. And engage with the work. Amen.

  731. So, as we worship would have this opportunity of giving.

  732. Amen. Amen.

  733. One of the ways you can. How do you stand on God's

  734. faithfulness? It's not bricks and it's not

  735. mortar. How do you stand on God's

  736. faithfulness? You thought about that?

  737. See, sometimes I like to take a pause to challenge myself, like

  738. I sing words. I get caught up in the melody.

  739. But what was it really mean to me, right.

  740. And This is why it's part important to be part of a body

  741. and to gather together. Because the way I'll stand on

  742. God's faithfulness, remember how he brought you out and remember

  743. how He did in your life. And I said, then I go down the

  744. line. I say faithful, faithful,

  745. faithful. Without evidence of his

  746. faithfulness, it's harder to understand how to stand on it.

  747. But when I see what God's done in your life and your life, and

  748. your life and your life and your life and your life and your life

  749. and your life, surely I can count and stand on that very

  750. same thing. That's how you stand on the

  751. faithfulness of God. One of the ways is to remember

  752. not just what He did in your life from day-to-day and week to

  753. week, but what he's done in the lives of all of those around

  754. you. So when you say you're standing

  755. on God's. Faithfulness.

  756. You're remembering all of the testimonies, all the victories,

  757. all of what it took for you to get here, all of what your.

  758. Family's been through all of what you've been through.

  759. God, I'm not going to be moved. And you know the great thing

  760. about standing on faithfulness when it's based on testimonies?

  761. If, if, if. Mark, can you come here very

  762. quickly? If I was to stand on the

  763. faithfulness of God, but on his testimony, turn around and you

  764. act like I was standing on his shoulders.

  765. If these were my feet, what would you do with your hands?

  766. If I stand on your shoulders? I'm not just standing on what

  767. God's done in his life because of what God done in his life.

  768. He's holding me to make sure I don't fall.

  769. It's not only am I standing on this faithfulness, but my

  770. brothers and my sisters and the people around me saying we don't

  771. keep you standing, we're going to hold you together.

  772. We going to keep you. We're going to watch.

  773. You're not. Going to trip, you're not going

  774. to. Fall, lift your hands up.

  775. We got you in every air in every way, just encouraging you with

  776. that illustration of why we're gathering on Mondays to pray

  777. online and women's prayer calls encourage you to participate in

  778. those. Men starts at 8:00 and women

  779. starts at 8:30. But also we're gathering during

  780. the week from Tuesday to Saturday, because when you

  781. gather together, you build together, you battle together,

  782. you send prayers and things to the next generations together,

  783. and you stand on each other's shoulders together.

  784. It's something amazing when you know, if I just get there,

  785. somebody got me. All I got to do is get there.

  786. And that's what we're doing, is we encourage you to challenge

  787. yourself. There's a grace to get here,

  788. reach out for it. God give me the grace.

  789. There's a grace to reorganize, to prioritize, to get the rest

  790. and all those kind of things to get here and to be faithful to

  791. all of the other things we're doing in our fast.

  792. So really encourage you. Challenge yourself.

  793. Come see what maybe what you might be missing and what God

  794. Extra has for you in Jesus name. We appreciate your generosity

  795. and your giving and this time and these moments are

  796. significant. I can remember when my kids were

  797. learning to play my daughter, particularly playing piano and

  798. she would play something. I can just listen to her all day

  799. play that one, that one little scale she was doing because she

  800. wasn't playing a scale. She had a hold of my heart.

  801. So these moments in these times are we basking in.

  802. Sometimes it's the father's like it may not seem like much to you

  803. but you got my heart. I can just hear you do twinkle,

  804. twinkle little star all day. It's like this like we say

  805. again, daddy. Daddy says get child again,

  806. child in Jesus name. So Father, we thank you for this

  807. time and our gathering. Now what I'm going to do is this

  808. and I'm going to say a prayer and the prayers of prayer

  809. release a master worship team if they can lead us in one more

  810. song at least, and we'll just see what God leads and what God

  811. goes. It's not about trying to stay,

  812. it's just about saying God. We're grateful for what you're
