  1. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Love Quest International

  2. Church Podcast where we seek to love all nations, equip the

  3. church, mobilize the equipped, and serve all.

  4. We're super glad you're joining us from whenever and wherever

  5. you're at in the world. Welcome to the family to get

  6. your Bibles ready, get some water, get some coffee, maybe

  7. some tea, and get ready to receive.

  8. It's go time. Let's get into it.

  9. Hey man, you going to take your seats there?

  10. You can grab your seat. That's country expression.

  11. You can grab your seat. I suggest you're going to take

  12. it someplace, doesn't it? Praising my savior.

  13. You know that phrasing. This is my story.

  14. This is my song is really important because sometimes what

  15. you can't remember in a word, you'll remember in a song.

  16. Have you ever been, have you ever been like someplace and

  17. then someone was will bring back a a quote, a verse of an old

  18. song or something, right. But you haven't heard like in

  19. see, I'm old enough to say this amount of time.

  20. You haven't heard like 18 years and all of a sudden in a moment,

  21. the verses, you know, and sometimes if you like in the

  22. store or something, it's a song. You don't want to come back.

  23. It's like, no, no, no, no, right?

  24. Songs have a way of helping you remember your stories in ways

  25. that narrative doesn't. So if you can tie your testimony

  26. to a song, OK, why don't we get a literal literation here?

  27. If you can tie your testimony to a tune, If you can tie your

  28. salvation to a song. If you can.

  29. If you can tie your deliverance to a, A to a beat that drops in,

  30. you have a way of remembering a little bit more.

  31. And every time you remember it, it becomes more alive, it

  32. becomes more powerful. It just deepens even more, you

  33. know? So I want to practice really

  34. quick, Lee here because I'm wanting to practice.

  35. I'm having so much fun right now and I'm have y'all practice.

  36. I want you to think of your testimony or a testimony.

  37. OK, Y'all thinking of a testimony?

  38. How many of y'all thinking of a testimony right now.

  39. Now, if you don't have your hand up, if you, if you don't have,

  40. if someone next to you does not have the hand up, turn to them

  41. and say here's my testimony. You can borrow mine for this

  42. exercise. OK, so everybody should have a

  43. testimony, OK, that they're going to work with.

  44. OK, ready. And I want you to sing it.

  45. OK, I want you to sing. No, don't laugh.

  46. This is a multiply billion dollar idea.

  47. Any of you obviously movie elf? OK, and what do you know from

  48. the movie, Elf? I'm with my dad.

  49. I'm here and I'm Christmas and I love him.

  50. That's called singing your testimony.

  51. And you remember it from the movie, don't you?

  52. And Will Ferrell made a bunch of money off of singing his

  53. testimony. And Elf, it was good enough for

  54. Will Ferrell, Got to be good enough for the people of God,

  55. right? And you can, you don't, You

  56. can't sound worse than that in singing your testimony.

  57. So just let her RIP y'all got it.

  58. Go ahead, sing your. Testimony, everybody, all at

  59. once. Go ahead.

  60. Go ahead. Come on, man.

  61. I want to hear some low pitched voices.

  62. Now sing your testimony. That's Elita Maris.

  63. There you go. Come on, man.

  64. Lord, I'm here. You bless me.

  65. Lord, your life is in me. Oh, God, you brought me out of

  66. my marriage. Lord, I'm singing my testimony.

  67. Oh, Lord. Amen.

  68. Amen. Amen.

  69. Amen. That's it.

  70. That's it. That's it.

  71. Don't watch you go. Remember that You're going to

  72. leave here next week. You're going to start.

  73. All of a sudden you're going to start going.

  74. Yeah, Dad, where did that come from?

  75. Singing your testimony makes a difference.

  76. And you got to pray for the worship team and doing stuff

  77. like that because they deal with music.

  78. Sometimes they get in their hair too much, you know, like I sing

  79. my testimony. Dad.

  80. I love you, Dad. Thank you, Godfather.

  81. Thank you. And I'm cool.

  82. They'd be like three-part harmony.

  83. Four part harmony. Am I going to sing it in unison?

  84. I'm not going to sing it. Like, I don't know, let me sing.

  85. Sometimes they get too much into that, you know, so you got to

  86. pray for the music to you so they can just I'm not saying

  87. they have a problem, but when you still doing something, you

  88. have to do more prayer to be free.

  89. What is what is all this about? I've just given you an

  90. experience of what holy is. What we did was just holy.

  91. I got it, Pat. I got I got my wife.

  92. What we did was just holy. OK, holy.

  93. Ain't that difficult. People make it difficult.

  94. Every time I have a chance to to share a word or share a message,

  95. I'm always mindful of the privilege it is and the grace

  96. that it is and the anointing of God that shows up.

  97. The thing about our pastors give me an opportunity to share the

  98. word is that in order to do this, there has to be anointing

  99. of God present. Now I'm skilled enough to fake

  100. it and I can do a good job faking it.

  101. No, this is facts. I speak for a living.

  102. There's certain, there's certain skills you can have, but I'm not

  103. relying on skill because skill doesn't change your life.

  104. It's the anointing that changes your life.

  105. So I have to depend on the anointing to come.

  106. And the great thing about this opportunity is what every time I

  107. stand here and have the privilege of standing here, I

  108. get to experience the anointing of God in a way that I would not

  109. have had my pastors not inviting me into this space to share this

  110. word at this time. So they really do me a favor to

  111. allow me to experience God in a different way when they invite

  112. me in. So I always want to thank them

  113. for the privilege and opportunity to grow in these

  114. moments. Amen.

  115. What I just did was holy. That's holy.

  116. Holy's not spooky spiritual. We're going to break that down.

  117. What is holy? What?

  118. What? The title of the message I have

  119. for today is very simple. Holy is.

  120. Holy is. Right.

  121. Holy is holy is now, Now this is fire.

  122. It's a symbolic of purity, cleansing, those kinds of

  123. things. The holiness of God is not just

  124. represented by the fire of God. So I don't want you to get a

  125. picture of fire all the time, right?

  126. This is not Fantastic Four. You walking around the fire all

  127. the time, OK, But this is a picture of the purifying,

  128. cleansing, sanctifying quality and work that fire does.

  129. And I put holy is the title down here.

  130. It's because I want you to understand that these are like

  131. the logs of the foundation. And it rises up, OK?

  132. Being holy rises up from a revelation of who holy, what

  133. holy is. It's something you live out of,

  134. not something you grasp at, not something you put on.

  135. So holy is as holy is and we're going to do this old school

  136. style. We got two times to do this

  137. today and we're going to do it old school.

  138. So everyone say old school now. I want you to grab a hold of

  139. this sometimes when we put. Up fancy slides and I don't.

  140. I do slides. Y'all see my slide game?

  141. I'm improving my slide game being past week competitive, you

  142. know. Used to be I was down by 59

  143. within five with two minutes left.

  144. I can win, I can win, I can win. OK, my Slack game was improving.

  145. But sometimes you put a slide up, you just like click it.

  146. It's like typing. You can type something and to

  147. have no idea what you typed right.

  148. But sometimes when you got to wrestle with it on the intake,

  149. it gets ingrained in you in a way that just flashing it

  150. doesn't. And even when Pastor puts up a

  151. slide or I put up a slide sometimes and you copy it, you

  152. you're copying, you're not necessarily writing it.

  153. Does that make sense? And there's some things today we

  154. want to get ingrained. We want to practice that skill

  155. of having these things ingrained in US and how to do that with

  156. attention. So we're going to use that

  157. technique today. So I'm going to share a few

  158. things. I'm going to say a few things.

  159. We want to have some scriptures come up.

  160. And I really want you to take notes.

  161. I really want you to write the things down that impact.

  162. Write the things down that are said.

  163. Write some of the summary statements down.

  164. OK, y'all got it. OK.

  165. How do you say write? How do you, say, write in

  166. Italian? Khajiore, how do you say right

  167. in Shona What? Yoda, how do you say right in

  168. Tagalog What? Nama Sama Sama, how do you say

  169. how do you say right in Thai? You know, say right in Thai.

  170. Ken, right now we didn't gave you 12 languages.

  171. We can give you some more to pick from if you want to What am

  172. I trying to get across? How do you say right in Canadian

  173. right a how about that? OK

  174. this is goes for day. How do you say right in day

  175. speak? Day isn't here.

  176. I don't believe day you here. How do you say right in day

  177. speak? Halle Berry, This is what I said

  178. today and I hope this is safe. I believe it is.

  179. I was talking to Dave one time and I was dropping some real

  180. word for him, for his life and I knew God was speaking to him, OK

  181. and and Dave was listening and I said, OK Dave, he had a phone.

  182. I even said, man, you got to write this down.

  183. And he was kept listening with his phone in his pocket.

  184. I said they what if Holly Berry said to you?

  185. Or pick any other beautiful available single person.

  186. OK, Holly Berry's maybe a generational thing.

  187. OK, who knew? But I said they.

  188. But they knew who Holly Berry is.

  189. OK, if y'all know what I'm saying, I said they What if

  190. Holly Berry say they here's my phone number.

  191. Would you just be listening then?

  192. Would you be like all right, I'm going to write this down right.

  193. So me and Dave got a short phrase when God is dropping

  194. science of something that God is saying I said I said Dave, you'd

  195. Holly bury that thing. That means you need to write

  196. that down. OK, you follow.

  197. So I saw you hood folks. I just told you to write with

  198. that with that example, right. Why am I admonishing you today?

  199. I'm really challenge you to write something down today to

  200. not be common, not be familiar. Your writing is holy and

  201. sometimes we act. We look for these big things we

  202. seek to do. There's a there's a guy in the

  203. Bible. Why am I spending all this time?

  204. Because I'm trying to get you to get it before we before we pull

  205. out. I'm trying to make sure you on

  206. the plane before we take off. There's a scripture in the Bible

  207. where a man was seeking to be healed of some stuff on his body

  208. and he sent for it, went to a prophet to be healed.

  209. You know the story went to a prophet to be healed and the

  210. prophet sent one of his assistants out to the guy.

  211. Prophet said go talk to his assistant.

  212. Said assistant go tell out this guy here fine no problem.

  213. Tell him to go dunk or dip himself 7 times in the river

  214. down the street. And the and the and the man came

  215. said when he got the message, hold on brother, don't know who

  216. I am. I'm not Mr. Ordinary.

  217. He sends his assistant to me. I'm expecting the Prophet

  218. himself to come out and talk to me, and he wants me to dunk in

  219. this river down the street. You know how dirty that river

  220. is. I got water cleaning that at

  221. home. If we're talking about dunking

  222. in water, I can do that better at home.

  223. And a woman that was with him said this to him.

  224. Let me ask you something. If he had come, if the Prophet

  225. himself had come here and asked you to do some little thing,

  226. would you have done it? He said, of course, he said, and

  227. then just do this little thing and follow the direction that's

  228. being given. It may not have come in the way

  229. you wanted, a package you wanted, but your liberties in

  230. following the plain spoken, simple direction.

  231. Sometime it ain't that deep. Just dunk in the water, bro.

  232. He did and he was healed and delivered.

  233. So when I'm asking you and encourage me to write some

  234. things down today, sometime it ain't that deep.

  235. Sometimes your deliverance isn't your determination to write.

  236. We're clear for take off. Holy is as holy is.

  237. You got to understand holy in this context.

  238. Let me ask you this. Do birds bark?

  239. OK, Do fish meow so birds don't bark and fists don't meow.

  240. Why? What?

  241. It's louder. Louder everyone.

  242. Louder the how? You know birds don't bark.

  243. You ever heard every bird that ever existed?

  244. How you know birds don't bark? Huh.

  245. Extrapolating, right? The way you know birds don't

  246. bark is not awful knowledge, experience, because you haven't

  247. heard every bird right? Why don't birds bark 'cause they

  248. birds. Birds are just birds don't bark,

  249. man, fish don't meow. If you believe that, you need to

  250. be in therapy, probably right? OK, what do birds do?

  251. Birds bird and fish fish. Why?

  252. Because it's their nature. Holy is because holy is.

  253. Holy is about a nature that you live out of.

  254. It's not about something you do on activity.

  255. For the believer born again in particular, holy is something

  256. that extends to you in a part of your being.

  257. You don't have to tell a bird to bird the bird, just birds.

  258. You don't have to tell a fish to fish.

  259. The fish just fishes. Holy just holies as an extension

  260. of nature, as an extension of identity, as extension of

  261. essence. So when you start trying to do

  262. holy, you've missed it. And when you understand that,

  263. then you don't have to be so focused on the things that's not

  264. a bird is not sitting there going around going like, man, I

  265. hope I don't bark today, dude, I'm trying not to bark today.

  266. Why? Because I'm a bird.

  267. If you are holy, because God has declared you to be holy, you

  268. don't shouldn't spend most of your time going.

  269. I hope I can just be holy today. Hope I don't get into something

  270. that makes me unholy today. You just live and be and walk in

  271. the fullness of it. Let it bubble out of you.

  272. Let it just come forth from you. Holy is as holy is.

  273. The Old Testament focus was what made you unclean.

  274. The Old Testament focus on live stuff.

  275. This is unclean. That's unclean.

  276. That's unclean because unclean gets in the way of your holy.

  277. OK. The Old Testament focus on what

  278. was unclean. The New Testament focus is on

  279. being holy. It's not even focused on

  280. uncleanness, it's on being holy. The Old Testament focused on

  281. unclean because there was no way to actually be fully clean

  282. because of sin had entered in to the very being of man.

  283. So there was no ability to truly just be clean, just be holy.

  284. Though they were made holy, they couldn't be holy.

  285. You ever had you ever seen on them shows you got a car and a

  286. garage and it's a fine car, you know, but it don't drive.

  287. That's like being holy but not able to be holy.

  288. It's built for it's built to be fine, but it don't have the

  289. internal engine just to live out its character and its nature.

  290. So the Old Testament focuses on that because you didn't have the

  291. capacity. We didn't have the capacity.

  292. The New Testament focuses on being holy.

  293. And if the New Testament focuses on being holy, shouldn't we

  294. focus more on that than not being, than than being unclean?

  295. The focus on Old Testament and the Old Testament was on holy

  296. stuff, lands, holy people, when they did speak of holy This

  297. people shall be holy, or this thing shall be holy, or that

  298. that place might be holy. In the New Testament, the focus

  299. is on the Holy Spirit and a holy people.

  300. The focus is on the Holy Spirit, not a land that was holy, not a

  301. space that was holy, even though land and space can be holy.

  302. Why am I doing all of this? What's the purpose of this?

  303. The purpose of this is to show you your mindset.

  304. If your idea of holy is based more on doing things and not

  305. being and being unclean and watching, I don't want to get

  306. soiled, I don't want to get dirty.

  307. That's going to get in my way versus being holy and walking

  308. with the Holy Spirit, then you're missing the essence of

  309. what holy really is. And it's important to know you

  310. can't walk in the fullness of something if you're not walking

  311. in the essence of it. Man, that is so good, holy.

  312. So we're going to go through some scriptures now that talk

  313. about holy and let God do some work in you and with you and for

  314. you on this Genesis chapter 2, verse 3, Then God bless the 7th

    Genesis 2:3

  315. day. The context is this is Genesis,

  316. God's forming things. God blessed the 7th day and made

  317. it holy. Why?

  318. Because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had

  319. done. So your decision to enter into

  320. rest is holy. How do I be holy?

  321. Rest in what God has done. You're choosing to rest in the

  322. promise. Rest on what God has said is

  323. you're being holy. It ain't that deep when you

  324. choose to rest in what God has promised on your life.

  325. God has promised that, that my body stripes, my body is healed,

  326. has been healed. I'm going to rest in that.

  327. Thank you, Lord. I'm going to have peace in the

  328. midst of that. Thank you Lord.

  329. You're resting in the promise of God is holy.

  330. So when you're not resting in the promise, then you are not

  331. being holy. When you are focused more on

  332. trying to gain the promise rather than rest in the promise,

  333. then you are trying to do holy rather than be holy.

  334. And doing holy will never produce what being holy will.

  335. Holy is rest. Holy tip, holy is rest.

  336. Let's go to Exodus 26, verse 3. Now he's talking about building

    Exodus 26:3

  337. the Tabernacle. Here.

  338. Let me back up on rest a bit. If you're made to be holy and

  339. holy is rest, then rest is present with you.

  340. You just have to let it. Say that again, if you've made

  341. to be holy, and holy is connected to rest, then rest is

  342. already with you and in you. You just need to let it.

  343. Sometimes when we're striving to go after rest, we're missing it.

  344. Rest is present. We just got to let it flow.

  345. Shout out, go to Washington junior doctor J let it flow.

  346. I'd said that for you. Judah, you may not know what

  347. that means. What's an example of that?

  348. You ever seen a socket on a wall?

  349. You stick metal in there. What kind?

  350. What happens, right? Power flows right?

  351. It it's there ready to flow out, as long as you just open the

  352. door and let it. Rest is not something you got to

  353. grasp at If you're dealing with anxiety, if you're dealing with

  354. mental anguish, rest is not something you go get when you

  355. are in Christ. Rest is a part of who you are.

  356. All you need to do is let rest come forward.

  357. You just need to yield to rest. You don't need to go get rest to

  358. fight your anxiety, you just need to yield to rest and rest

  359. will wash through that anxiety for you.

  360. Go to Exodus 26 three. Join the five of the curtains

  361. together and do the same with the other five.

  362. Keep going. Make loops of material along the

  363. edge at the end of the curtain in one set and same the other

  364. other set. Make 15 loops is going down a

  365. little deeper maybe. I got the reference, didn't

  366. quite get the reference right. The reference I'm going to here

  367. is after God is giving these instructions about building the

  368. Tabernacle. He's saying one part will be the

  369. holy place and the other part will be the Most Holy place.

  370. The holy place is where you got the word and other people can

  371. enter in. The most Holy place is the place

  372. where you can only get into by blood and a high priest.

  373. So in the Old Testament there was holy and then there was most

  374. holy. When Jesus gave his life, that

  375. veil was torn. So now there's not this thing,

  376. this difference between holy and most holy.

  377. What does that mean? When God says be holy is I'm

  378. holy, what he's saying is be most holy because I am most

  379. holy. There's no little holy and big

  380. holy however holy I am Most holy is the holy I'm calling you to

  381. be. So much so that you don't have

  382. to put on a most on it because it's just who you are.

  383. God does not call himself Most High God.

  384. He know who he is. Most high Gods that let the

  385. other folk that don't know who he is know who he is.

  386. God is not calling himself most holy.

  387. He just he just holy, right? So I ever holy he is.

  388. He's invited us into that level and quality and character of

  389. being holy. So it's not a little holy and a

  390. big holy. The fullness of whatever holy

  391. represents in God you're able to walk in.

  392. That's the invitation. Do you want to answer that

  393. invitation now? Right now?

  394. If I say God's inviting you into the most holy place to be, to

  395. live in a place of most holy, so much so that it's like regular,

  396. OK, what's the first thing that comes to your mind?

  397. Man, that's too much work, man. I'm too scared of that.

  398. What am I have to do? How am I going to maintain that?

  399. How am I going to keep that up immediately?

  400. If your mind goes to stuff you're doing, it automatically

  401. demonstrates you're missing what Holy is.

  402. Because it's not about doing, it's about being.

  403. This is this is my son. Here.

  404. Right here. Raise your hand, son.

  405. Where's my money? That's part of the illustration.

  406. You're supposed to give me some. No.

  407. Anyway, this is my son here. Right?

  408. What he what does he have to do to be my son?

  409. Right as he gets older, is he more my son or less my son?

  410. He just is my son. He, he is no more my son now

  411. than he was on that amazing evening with my with his mom.

  412. That's holy. Now y'all giggle, but that's

  413. holy. See, that's part of the problem.

  414. You forget that some things are holy first and foremost.

  415. Not titillating, not familiar. You're cute, OK?

  416. The idea is he doesn't have to do anything.

  417. He's born of me, which makes him holy.

  418. He's born of me, which makes him my son.

  419. He's born of God, which makes him in his image and his

  420. likeness. And where his spirit was dead on

  421. the inside, he has a new spirit on the inside on which God is

  422. able to live. Which means he's now able to

  423. live out the being holy that God always called him to do and to

  424. be. There's no separation between

  425. these two. Go Leviticus 1144, the book, the

  426. least read book in the Bible. Why It got too many rules, man.

  427. I got too many rules, man. It'd be all dry.

  428. Too many rules, you know, I was reading through the Bible, man,

  429. and I was reading all the way. Through And then I Leviticus.

  430. I just stopped. You know what part of Leviticus

  431. is for? It's in the name.

  432. Who's Leviticus for? Right?

  433. Who? The Levites.

  434. Yeah, but more specifically, those who are in charge and

  435. taking up the charge to carry the presence of God on behalf of

  436. others. See, if you ain't interested in

  437. that, you can skip Levites. Leviticus But if you saying I'm

  438. willing to take up the charge to carry the presence of God for my

  439. nation, my bloodline, my family, a generation, then there's a

  440. level of holy God wants you to know you are and need to walk in

  441. and express because it's necessary to be that close to

  442. God and who he is. Leviticus 1144 says this.

  443. I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves and be

  444. holy because I am holy. Now how many of y'all thought

  445. that was just in the New Testament?

  446. God been saying that since the beginning.

  447. Consecrate yourselves now be holy because I'm holy.

  448. And he said it in the Old Testament in part because he

  449. wants to say have the people say this God.

  450. I can't. He says I know, and that's the

  451. basis of why I'm sending Jesus, because you can't.

  452. But it's not until you recognize that you can't, that you don't,

  453. that you receive who God can or who God is.

  454. You just concentrate yourselves and be holy because I am holy.

  455. Do not make for yourselves. Do not make yourselves unclean

  456. by any creature that moves along the ground.

  457. I am the Lord who brought you out of Egypt to be your God.

  458. Therefore be holy because I am holy.

  459. What God is saying here is this. I have established you in

  460. holiness. It is your responsibility to

  461. deal with the uncleanness. I've given you a diamond that

  462. sparkles. It's your job to keep the mud

  463. off. You don't have to create the

  464. sparkle. It's already in the diamond.

  465. If you just keep the mud off, the sparkle will come through.

  466. OK, God is going to ask you to create the sparkle.

  467. He's not asking to even create the diamond.

  468. He says I'm giving you the diamond and I'm giving you the

  469. sparkle and I'm giving you the light.

  470. When it goes through the diamond, that will bring

  471. sparkle. All you need to do is keep it

  472. clean, keep the dirt off the diamond.

  473. That's it. And if you want to say if you're

  474. feeling bad sometimes that's the dirt.

  475. Just look underneath. It's all diamond underneath.

  476. Don't give up because you're looking at dirt on the outside,

  477. because there's diamond underneath the dirt.

  478. Holy, I said this. We be because he be.

  479. That's the bebop phrase, Greenwich Village phrase.

  480. We be he, be Doobie Ooby. Scoobly Roo doody wop Dick Van

  481. Dyke show. Anyway y'all don't know.

  482. I'm doing a lot of references here.

  483. We be because he be. Why do I say we?

  484. Because it's about a people, not just you.

  485. Do you know I can't fully manifest the holiness of God

  486. unless we do it. It's not just about me.

  487. It's about a we. It's about a people working

  488. together and living together to get full expression to what God

  489. is saying, what God is doing. Leviticus 19 verse one says

  490. this. The Lord said to Moses, speak to

  491. the entire assembly of Israel and say to them be holy, because

  492. I the Lord your God, I'm holy. Peterman again, each of you must

  493. respect your mother and father, and you must observe my

  494. Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.

  495. Do not turn to idols and make metal gods of yourselves.

  496. Metal gods for yourselves, of yourselves.

  497. The revelation too, make metal gods for yourselves.

  498. I am the Lord your God. Holy is how you honor your

  499. parents. What I have here is holiest

  500. relationship. Are you giving honor to the

  501. relationships that you have? If you aren't, are you being

  502. holy? It's almost like God is saying

  503. this. I've given you parents that have

  504. light and glory and blessing to flow through to you.

  505. It's your job to make sure nothing gets in the way of that

  506. relationship. Don't let familiarity get in the

  507. way. Don't let your what your friends

  508. say get in the way. Holy is about relationship too.

  509. So you say God, how do I express my holiness more?

  510. Are you honoring your mother and honoring your father?

  511. You don't know what they did to me.

  512. God does. So there was a king that

  513. committed wickedness and violated God's laws and someone

  514. went and killed that king and I think maybe cut off that, I

  515. can't remember, and went back to the people of God said I did

  516. look, I killed this king and God said this man, what are you

  517. doing? My paraphrase, what are you

  518. doing? Though they were wicked, they

  519. were still a king. Though they cause wickedness

  520. amongst the people, they were still a king.

  521. There was still an honor to be given to them, because when you

  522. give honor to them, then I can let my honor flow to you and

  523. redeem you from everything they may have taken from you.

  524. Keep the mud off your relationship with your parents

  525. because that's holy. It's hard.

  526. I don't know how I can do that. It's already in you.

  527. It already will flow through you.

  528. All you have to do is keep the mud off.

  529. What's 1 good way you keep the mud off?

  530. Pray. Let me tell you how you can

  531. start praying sometime. OK?

  532. Doctor King, Martin Luther King. Jim had a famous speech and we

  533. know the speech to be. Anyone know?

  534. I have a dream you. Know how to speech started.

  535. I got an idea. Or better, started.

  536. I'm tired of this. How long is this going to take?

  537. Why was I even born in this country?

  538. But you know, there's still hope.

  539. And I got an idea or policy. No, no, no, what I have is a

  540. dream. What did I just do for you?

  541. Showed you the process That's I have a dream speech was as much

  542. I have a dream when he was like, I'm tired of this as it was.

  543. I have a dream. It's on the same continuum.

  544. I said how do you pray ready Lord, I hate my daddy.

  545. You praying out of honor because you're going to God with your

  546. issue. God, I hate my dad.

  547. I hate my mom. You know what they did.

  548. You know how they treated me whether they did or not.

  549. You know how that is God, I don't want to pray for them at

  550. all. You you just like the beginning

  551. of the I have a dream speech was here you beginning.

  552. God, I hate God. I'm just upset God.

  553. I don't know how I'm going to do this God.

  554. You don't have to help me. God.

  555. I got such stuff in my heart, God.

  556. But you tell me to God. But that's wholly involved.

  557. All right. I just say it.

  558. Lord, I honor my parents. I don't feel nothing about it.

  559. You are still praying. The point where it becomes God,

  560. I see God. I didn't know what they went

  561. through. I didn't know the struggles they

  562. had. I didn't know that what they did

  563. to me was done to them and to the people before them and they

  564. had no way of coping. I didn't know God.

  565. The fact that they didn't quit and didn't leave was victory

  566. because everyone else had walked out on them.

  567. God, I get a better picture of it now.

  568. God, thank you for a parent that stayed that was ill equipped to

  569. stay my dad. I'm going to give a shout out to

  570. my dad real quick and shut up. My dad was born out of a out of

  571. an affair. His mom slept with a man that

  572. was married. She got pregnant, he was born.

  573. He went to the same school as his half brother but it was like

  574. they weren't supposed to talk to me.

  575. Everyone knew The Dirty secret but no one said anything then.

  576. This is during the time where black people were segregated

  577. already. There was already stigma on

  578. being black in in the South in the US.

  579. OK, just stigma on stigma. His dad didn't support him,

  580. didn't have a relationship with him.

  581. His brother came to school enclosed.

  582. My dad had to hustle for his raising a house with no men.

  583. His Mama was a His Mama was a numbers runner.

  584. That means illegal lottery. That's what the lottery comes

  585. from. Illegal numbers running the kids

  586. you didn't know. His Mama was a numbers runner

  587. and his stepfather was a drug dealer.

  588. When he went to college, he was a senior.

  589. Met my mom as he jokes. How did you meet mom?

  590. I saw she had a checkbook son. He started dating my mom, went

  591. back home and then my mom's parents said to him, she's yours

  592. now. What do you mean we just dating?

  593. She's yours now. You're responsible for her.

  594. He is senior, she a freshman. He moved to Chicago to try to do

  595. work and support her education and bring her up.

  596. And money will multiply your weaknesses as much as give your

  597. ability to do good things. So as weakness become multiplied

  598. upon multiplied, I'm going to leave it right there.

  599. But my but my mom and my dad, but my dad stayed married to my

  600. mom. My mom had every reason to walk

  601. out, every reason to quit on him.

  602. But my dad wouldn't quit and my mom wouldn't quit.

  603. My dad was not present for me in the house as much as I would

  604. have liked. He was working so hard because

  605. he was trying to use money to make up for the what he didn't

  606. have. He was trying to give us as a

  607. family an honor that he didn't know because he was told growing

  608. up, you ain't going to never be nothing, do nothing, nothing.

  609. You're black. You're I'm going to leave it

  610. there. So we didn't see him much.

  611. And when we saw him, he didn't have a real emotional

  612. connection, never had a father, never had a male, never had

  613. someone to teach him how to be a parent or how to be a husband or

  614. how to be a father. There's married, I don't know

  615. what, 50 years, 40 years, 50 years, 50 plus years.

  616. My dad was holy. What?

  617. You mean he was not equipped to be married?

  618. He was not equipped to have a family, but he would not let go.

  619. He would not let go. He had no ability to stay.

  620. Didn't know what it meant. But he has said I'm I just can't

  621. walk away. I'm going to try to stick and

  622. try to hold on till change come. That is holy.

  623. Holy isn't always just living out the highest and the best.

  624. It's having a reverence for God, saying God, I know if I just

  625. keep holding on, something's going to change.

  626. Now, what is holy for me? Dad, you left me this.

  627. You didn't do this, you didn't do this, you didn't do this.

  628. But by the time I get through the end of my prayer and all

  629. that story I just told you, that's the story God revealed to

  630. me, not my father. My father never put those pieces

  631. together like that, that God put those pieces.

  632. I was angry at my father when God showed me the picture.

  633. Then I saw how much of A victory and a worry he was to go into a

  634. battle against machine guns and tomahawk missiles and all you

  635. have is a butter knife, but yet you still think you're going to

  636. get a victory. You ain't got no equipment, no

  637. ability, you don't know nothing about warfare, and you're

  638. expecting to come out on the other side only because why?

  639. I don't want my son to be to know a divorced parent.

  640. That's all I got. When everyone quitter with you,

  641. that comes through that prayer part.

  642. Holy is giving honor to the relationship apart from how the

  643. people walk in it. And when you give honor to the

  644. relationship, part of when people walk in it, there's a

  645. place where you begin to get understanding of who God is in

  646. the midst of it and what God has done.

  647. And that's where then you're able to be holy.

  648. Because now the junk of offense, you're clinging off your

  649. diamond, the junk of brokenness, you're cleaning off your diamond

  650. so your light can shine through, not just for you, but for the

  651. generations to come. Holy is relationship.

  652. Amen, Amen. I'm a park it there.

  653. There's more that I that I'm going to share and God is going

  654. to share the next time we gather at our next experience.

  655. I encourage you to be here. For that, for your good, and

  656. because God's trying to do a holy work in us as a people, I

  657. further encourage you to listen to it online if you're not able

  658. to be here. Because God has a work to do in

  659. us as a people, and I know some things God's going to have me

  660. finish up with that are really the point of the movie.

  661. The point of the movie is the end, not the beginning.

  662. Amen. Amen.

  663. How many of you gotten something out of this today?

  664. Amen, Amen. Amen.

  665. Amen. Amen.

  666. God is doing something in our midst in this area and the the

  667. wrestling, this part of it is what God is trying.

  668. He's trying to get us to wrestle with it so that way we really

  669. get it in a particular way. Amen.

  670. I just want to make A1 announcement a reminder for us

  671. in terms of our remnant gathering.

  672. Well, let me let me pray first. I looked at my wife.

  673. You know my wife. Give me she didn't do nothing.

  674. I looked at her. We got and I see stuff on her.

  675. OK, we'll pray first. Everyone just get in a posture

  676. of prayer. Good to see you, Oswald and

  677. Judy, in a posture of prayer. Father, we thank you for this

  678. moment and what you shared and what you poured out.

  679. We thank you for your glory and your grace.

  680. We thank you for revelation of what it means to be holy,

  681. because without holiness and you just can't even see the Lord,

  682. more or less even follow him. We thank you that you're

  683. transforming us to know that you've made us a holy people.

  684. And I just being the people you've called us to be is being

  685. holy. And we thank you God, as we go

  686. forth into this, into the into the world, into the earth, just

  687. being holy, your presence that accompanies the accompanies

  688. holiness is with us in a greater measure, transforming all of

  689. those that are around us. We thank you, God, for the good

  690. work you've begun in us on this, on the topic and subject matter.

  691. And we think you're going to watch over the performer to

  692. bring you to his completion in Jesus name.

  693. A story about my dad. My dad gave his life to Jesus.

  694. My dad had encounters with the Holy Spirit that were of

  695. extraordinary nature. My dad and all of us in our

  696. family will have been completely and fully reconciled.

  697. You know, you cannot be broke but not be reconciled.

  698. We was never broken. We just wasn't reconciled.

  699. That's for another message. I want to make sure you get the

  700. end of the story and don't walk out here seeing the middle part

  701. and highlighting the middle part because the middle part was to

  702. have you understand the end. Amen.

  703. Also, too, remember the end of what we're doing.

  704. You got to remember the end because the end pulls you

  705. through. The end gets you through.

  706. The end carries you through. You remember when you was a kid?

  707. Some of y'all still kids, I'm sorry.

  708. Remember, I remember when I was a kid, OK, I'm no, we got

  709. different ages and different experiences.

  710. I remember when I was a kid and I was getting and we had a drive

  711. to go someplace and it was a long drive too long had had had

  712. kid kidneys. You know what I'm saying, right?

  713. I got stopped at the bathroom all the time.

  714. I'm like, where we going to get there, Where we going to get

  715. there, Where we going to get there, where we going to get

  716. there? The thing that kept me going was

  717. the expectation of what I was going to see when I arrived.

  718. That helped keep me going through the middle parts.

  719. You see, it's the vacation that I'm going to that helps me wait

  720. in the three hour TSA line or whatever the place is called in

  721. Canada. It's it helps me get through the

  722. turbulence of the flight because I know what I'm going to is more

  723. than worth it. We're in the middle part in many

  724. ways, what we're doing in terms of establishing a place of

  725. refuge, a place of rest, a place where people can find hope, and

  726. a place out of which God can let His light shine in a more

  727. glorious way. In this community, we encourage

  728. you to continue to be diligent, to be urgent, to be relentless

  729. and you're giving and you're investing with the Lord and in

  730. letting God share with you and show you how he wants to help

  731. you be a part. I told you this story last time

  732. and I take it to you again. Woman walked in the church,

  733. didn't have any money. God said you're going to get a

  734. bunch of money coming that you don't even know about.

  735. She said, OK, next week called up looking for something, trying

  736. to solve a problem in her life and and the bank said, listen,

  737. you got this money over here. Did you know about it?

  738. She said, yeah, sure I did, right.

  739. He said, great, now you got that money, no problem.

  740. OK, great, great, great, great. She came back to church after

  741. getting that money and, and, and we talked about the invitation

  742. to participate in the Remnant project.

  743. And the Lord said, now, now you got the money to get to the

  744. Remnant project. It's not about what you have,

  745. it's about what God gets through you.

  746. Have I said anything that bless you today?

  747. Have I been in a relationship with any of you that's changed

  748. your life at all? My dad sacrificed the dad I just

  749. told you about. He sacrificed for me to be here.

  750. He lived uncomfortably for me to be here.

  751. He let himself be called names for me to be here.

  752. Blessing don't come without sacrifice.

  753. And the only thing we're asking is.

  754. Part of a generation of sacrifice that's going to do for

  755. the next generation what my dad has done for me and for you and

  756. allowing me to be, I'm using you as an example, right?

  757. So and then one thing I encourage you to do, ask God,

  758. God, what you have me do. God, how generous do you want to

  759. get through my life? How generous do you want me to

  760. be? It's not about what you have.

  761. It's about what God can get to you and through you and then

  762. pray it through and then praying through.

  763. God only asks you to do your part.

  764. God, we thank you that we're going to be walking into this

  765. building very shortly. The work continues to be done.

  766. And how many of you all know that in a relay race, the anchor

  767. leg is critical? The one that takes the baton and

  768. carries it to the finish? That's the critical one because

  769. you can be ahead when they get the baton, but they got to keep

  770. it up to finish the win. And we're in the anchor leg now.

  771. So thank you for all the generous giving.

  772. You have done as was, as was aptly put forward today, there's

  773. 195,000 for this phase and we believe that it's done.

  774. It is finished, it is received, it is allocated, it is

  775. duplicated, it is multiplied, it is consecrated.

  776. It is already put to use in an extraordinary, extraordinary way

  777. already. And we thank you for your

  778. participation and seeing it brought to pass.

  779. You got the ways you can give generously again.

  780. We encourage you to do so as you exit out of this space today.

  781. Amen. Amen.

  782. Let's give God another hand clap.

  783. Thank you so much for tuning in to this week's sermon.

  784. We pray you were challenged, equipped and encouraged.

  785. Make sure to follow us on all platforms.

  786. That's love Quest Intl church. We out here for real.

  787. We're really doing it. That's Facebook, Instagram,

  788. YouTube and TikTok.
