  1. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Love Quest International

  2. Church Podcast where we seek to love all nations, equip the

  3. church, mobilize the equipped, and serve all.

  4. We're super glad you're joining us from whenever and wherever

  5. you're at in the world. Welcome to the family to get

  6. your Bibles ready, get some water, get some coffee, maybe

  7. some tea, and get ready to receive.

  8. It's go time. Let's get into it.

  9. I got expectations for this morning.

  10. Now, you said it, but did you believe that?

  11. All right, just checking. Just checking.

  12. I want to make sure, you know, I asked you to say it.

  13. I didn't want you to be lying. You know, we have an expectation

  14. of what God has for us today. Yes.

  15. Amen. Amen.

  16. Well, I want to say thank you to Pastor Terence and Pastor Julia

  17. for the blessing to be able to minister and and share the Word

  18. with Love Quest Nation. Thank you so much Pastor

  19. Terence, Pastor Julia for the vision, the leadership, and the

  20. Spirit LED nature of who you are.

  21. We appreciate you, we love you and thank you.

  22. We're excited to hear what God has happening down in Tacoma.

  23. Amen. For those who don't know,

  24. there's a basketball tournament down in Tacoma and Love Quest

  25. goes where God calls us to go. And they're headed down there to

  26. be a witness and engage with people and also play some

  27. basketball, which is fun. So they're down there this

  28. weekend. And so we're looking forward to

  29. hearing what God has done there. Now we've been doing a series

  30. called In the Wild, Say in the Wild and we're learning that we

  31. are called to be in the wild, not just to live our life, our

  32. Christian life here within the four walls, but out there to

  33. make it impact. And last word last week.

  34. Do you remember what we talked about rests in the wild?

  35. That's right, rest in the wild. And we talked from Isaiah 30

    Isaiah 30:15

  36. verse 15, and it says, thus said the Lord God the Holy One of

  37. Israel, in returning to me and resting in me, you'll be saved

  38. in quietness or undisturbedness and in trusting confidence shall

  39. be your strength. And we learnt that when we are

  40. at rest in Him, when we return to Him, when we allow ourselves

  41. to be undisturbed but to trust in Him, that is the strongest

  42. place to be. And then we ended with a verse

  43. and we said the key is to know Him.

  44. And the verse we finished with was Ephesians chapter 1 and

    Ephesians 1 chapter mention

  45. verse 16 to 17. And we actually prayed it.

  46. I prayed it over you as we left yes, last Sunday.

  47. And the scripture says, I have not stopped thanking God for

  48. you. I pray for you constantly asking

  49. God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you

  50. spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your

  51. knowledge of Him, to know him. And that's the beauty of that

  52. song. Show me your face.

  53. It's that engagement of heart. It says I want to know you and

  54. it is in the knowing of God in in learning who he is and

  55. learning to know him and to trust in him.

  56. There's that intimacy, the intimacy of heart, the intimacy

  57. of face to face to know him. Today I'm going to continue with

  58. the in the wild, but the title is life for the wild.

  59. Now I thought of saying life in the wild, but really the life

  60. that we have in Christ is for the wild is for us to go out is

  61. being sent is when we go outside of the this church building and

  62. be the church out there. That's the life he has given us

  63. life for the wildlife for us to go out life for us to be able to

  64. share and show to the world to shine a light to be the light.

  65. The life He has given us is to show, to shine out life for the

  66. wild. In John chapter 1 and verse one

    John 1 chapter mention

  67. to four, I read it to you in the beginning.

  68. Before all time was the Word, and the Word was with God, and

  69. the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with

  70. God. All things were made and came

  71. into existence through Him and without Him was not even one

  72. thing made that is coming to be in Him was life and the life was

  73. the light of men. Now here John is talking about

  74. Jesus. Jesus is the Word.

  75. Jesus is the word made flesh and it says about Jesus.

  76. In him was life, in him was life, The very nature of who He

  77. is, His life. He is life, and that life was

  78. the light of men. His life was a shining light to

  79. reveal the Father, His very life, the substance of who He

  80. was. His life was to shine a light

  81. and to be a light so that we would know who the Father was.

  82. Here He is the Word made flesh. The very life of God came to be

  83. present with us, God with us, The very life of God.

  84. He is our life. His life is your light.

  85. His life being is your light. The light to shine, the light to

  86. live, the light to represent, the light to be able to show and

  87. reveal who God is. There's a story in John chapter

    John 4 chapter mention

  88. 4. And Jesus was with his disciples

  89. and they were going passing through an area called Samaria.

  90. And the Jews didn't really talk to the people in Samaria and

  91. they didn't really talk to the Jews.

  92. There was this kind of this friction and faction between

  93. them. And Jesus went and sat by well,

  94. and his disciples went off. And it says here in John chapter

    John 4:7

  95. 4 verse 7. Soon a Samaritan woman came to

  96. draw water and Jesus said to her, please give me a drink.

  97. He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the

  98. village to buy some food. The woman was surprised, for

  99. Jews refused to have anything to do with Samaritans.

  100. She said to Jesus, You're a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman.

  101. Why are you asking me for a drink?

  102. She's like, what's going on here?

  103. Like why? Why are you even talking to me?

  104. Why are we even having a conversation?

  105. This is weird. Like what?

  106. What's going on here? Why?

  107. Why are you? Why are you even asking me for

  108. something? Jesus replied.

  109. If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you were

  110. speaking to. He's like, man, if you knew the

  111. gift God got for you that I have, that I can reveal to you

  112. the gift, the incredible gift that God has.

  113. If you only knew that and who I am.

  114. This is your day and you don't even know it.

  115. This is going to be a day that changes the rest of your life

  116. and you have no idea. We're about to change the course

  117. of history today. Today your life is about to

  118. shift in such a radical way. He's saying because I'm here,

  119. because Jesus is here, because Jesus is here and he's saying

  120. the gift I have for you, you've got to understand this gift is

  121. powerful. This gift is special.

  122. And so if you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are

  123. speaking to, you would ask me and I would give you living

  124. water. Living water.

  125. Interesting phrase. We'll get back to that.

  126. We'll come back to that point in just a minute.

  127. And the lady says to him, but Sir, you don't have a rope or a

  128. bucket. See.

  129. She was still thinking in physical terms because living

  130. water could also be defined as as flowing water.

  131. It's just like, what do you, what do you mean?

  132. There's a gift and you're the one who's going to give it to

  133. me. Like, if I knew who I was

  134. speaking to, that would make a difference because you'd give me

  135. living water. I mean, you haven't got a

  136. bucket. You haven't got a rope.

  137. How are you going to make this thing work?

  138. All the water's down the bottom unless you're scooting down

  139. there. I don't know how it's going to

  140. happen. She's thinking in practical

  141. terms, practicality. And this well is very deep.

  142. Where would you get this living water?

  143. And besides, do you think you're greater than our ancestor Jacob?

  144. Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are that

  145. you're greater than the guy who dug this long ago?

  146. And it's been a source of life for our entire area.

  147. And we come here, it gives us water.

  148. Who do you think you are? What makes you so special?

  149. So not only was it like you haven't got the practical

  150. things, I don't even know who you are.

  151. And do you really think you're better than Jacob?

  152. What's going on? Who gave us this?

  153. Well, how can you offer better water than he and his sons and

  154. his animals drink? Jesus replied.

  155. Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again.

  156. We know that you drink and then wait a while.

  157. You got to drink again because you get thirsty.

  158. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty

  159. again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling

  160. spring within them, giving them eternal life.

  161. So he's clearly still not talking about regular water.

  162. Because I haven't got this spring that I tap into to get my

  163. drink every day, right? It's different.

  164. It's the living water. There's a life in him.

  165. Remember we started with the first.

  166. He is life, and his life was light to men.

  167. His life, his very substance is life.

  168. His very nature is life. He is the one who brings life.

  169. And here he was in this city in Samaria talking to somebody who

  170. needed this life. The rest of the story goes on.

  171. He he tell says nails down that, you know, she's had a few

  172. husbands and the one you're with isn't your husband.

  173. And but I am the one who came to bring you life and to bring life

  174. into this world. And it changes the city.

  175. See, he came to bring a revelation of himself that would

  176. change the city. And when we get a revelation of

  177. who Jesus is, it changes us. And the beauty of God is that we

  178. have an ever increasing revelation because there's no

  179. end to what we can learn about who He is, the life of who He

  180. is, the greatness of who He is. You see, His very name reflects

  181. living water in Jeremiah chapter 2 verse 13, it says, for my

    Jeremiah 2:13

  182. people have committed 2 evils. They have forsaken me, the

  183. fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves

  184. systems, broken systems which cannot hold water.

  185. Now Jeremiah is the only place where God calls himself the

  186. fountain of living waters. Interesting.

  187. Twice here in Jeremiah 213 and then again in Jeremiah 17, verse

    Jeremiah 17:13

  188. 13, he calls himself the fountain of living waters.

  189. So what's a fountain? What, what, what's what's the

  190. nature of a fountain or a spring?

  191. It's a flow, absolutely keeps going.

  192. It's fresh, yes, fresh living water.

  193. It's also the source. So it's the bubbling up the, the

  194. beginning point, the bubbling flow.

  195. See here's the source of living water.

  196. Here's the the nature of living water.

  197. And God is saying to Israel, you've committed 2 evils.

  198. The first one is you've forsaken me.

  199. I'm the fountain of living water.

  200. I'm the source, I'm the one who give you continual flow of life.

  201. You've forsaken that. The second evil is you attempted

  202. to replace me by making it says having hewn for themselves,

  203. systems sinks to try and create water.

  204. And he said even those are cracked, they're broken.

  205. They can't even hold water. And the water that have is, is

  206. not the water you need. They had forgotten that he was

  207. the source of their life. He was the living water, that

  208. God had called them out of Egypt and called them to be a chosen

  209. people. But they'd forsaken him.

  210. They'd forgotten him and instead they'd replaced God's place

  211. within their life with their own main man.

  212. Man made idea of God, their idea of what a deity might look like.

  213. You look at the history of Israel.

  214. They just come out of Egypt and they make a golden calf that's a

  215. smack that down and then they come into to the promised land

  216. and they start to take the gods of here and here and here and

  217. the Lord's like, but I called you.

  218. Why are you trying to make something?

  219. Why are you trying to formulate an idea of who I am?

  220. Why don't you come to me? Is he's the fountain of living

  221. water. He's the source of the life.

  222. His very name is the source of living water.

  223. And so quickly we can get caught up with our idea of what it

  224. could look like instead of what he has called us to be.

  225. But he is that life. He is that foundation.

  226. He is living water. John 7 verse 37 to 39 in the

    John 7:37–39

  227. Amplified Classic. Going to read it from here.

  228. Now on the final and most important day of the feast, this

  229. is the Feast of Tabernacles, the last day of the Feast of

  230. Tabernacles. Tabernacles is called Hashanah

  231. Raba and it's the day where they actually have the final

  232. execution of what water they'll have for harvest.

  233. Jesus is so cool. On the final and most important

  234. day of the feast, Jesus stood and he cried in a loud voice.

  235. If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.

  236. It is He who believes in me, He who clears to and trusts in and

  237. relies on me, as the Scriptures has said, From His innermost

  238. being shall flow continuously springs and rivers of living

  239. water. But He was speaking here of the

  240. Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were afterward to

  241. receive. For the Holy Spirit had not yet

  242. been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

  243. So here we get a reiteration of what he said to the lady in

  244. Sumeria. He said rivers of living water

  245. will bubble up and those who believe here again he says it,

  246. rivers of living water. And then we go and we connect

  247. that to Jeremiah and we go, well, who's the fountain of

  248. living water? Do you remember that's not a

  249. trick question Is God. God is the fountain of living

  250. water, right? He named himself, I am the

  251. fountain of living water. He said I am the fountain of

  252. living water. And now Jesus is saying to those

  253. who believe rivers of living water will bubble up from the

  254. innermost being, what does that mean?

  255. God himself, for those who believe, will live in you, make

  256. his dwelling place with you, and out of your innermost being will

  257. bubble up rivers of living water that are sourced in Him.

  258. Because we rest in Him, we're found in Him, we're undisturbed

  259. in Him. We are trusting in Him.

  260. You see, when we rest in Him, His life flows out of us.

  261. When we rest and rely upon Him, His very nature is at work in US

  262. and through us to reach the World to be the light.

  263. His nature is at work by His Holy Spirit through us to touch

  264. a world that is in desperate need of the life that we have.

  265. His life, and we said in John 1, he is life, He is the nature of

  266. life. His life now bubbles up on the

  267. inside of us to who? Those who come to him and

  268. believe, who come to him and believe in all he is because he

  269. cried a loud voice. If any man is thirsty, let him

  270. come to me and believe in Me. He comes and we believe.

  271. We go into His presence and we believe.

  272. John 6 verse 28 to 29 says they replied we want to perform God's

    John 6:28–29

  273. works too. What should we do?

  274. Jesus told them this is the only work God wants from you.

  275. Believe in the one he has sent. So hang on.

  276. I thought I had to do this and this and this and this.

  277. I have a Doo Doo Doo to show how good I am.

  278. I sat up straight in grade three.

  279. You know you're the sitting up straight where you're like this

  280. and then you're like, you're not this way.

  281. You're like this, right? You're leaning right back to

  282. make sure they know you're sitting up still right?

  283. Anybody else or is that just me? I don't know, but that's but

  284. we're not called into the do. We're called into the being of

  285. being sons and daughters of the risen Savior.

  286. Now do we do? Yeah.

  287. But we operate in our activity out of first being the sons and

  288. the daughters of God because out of that nature.

  289. We're doing it because the life of God is flowing through us.

  290. We're doing it because we're the love of God has been poured out

  291. in our hearts. We're doing that because we have

  292. received the love of God. We've received who he is.

  293. We know the hope we have. And now we're operating our

  294. lives out of that. We're operating in our lives

  295. because we are loved. We're operating out of our lives

  296. because we have the life of God within us.

  297. We're engaging in life because we know whose we are and

  298. therefore we know who we are. Who we are is connected.

  299. Once we find out and get a revelation of whose we are, you

  300. see, I can rest because I know who I belong to.

  301. I can hope because I know who my Father is.

  302. I can love because I have received so much love.

  303. I can forgive because I have been forgiven.

  304. Perhaps today you've struggled with forgiveness.

  305. Let me tell you. Get a revelation of how much

  306. He's forgiven you and now you'll be able to share that

  307. forgiveness to another because you recognize he has forgiven

  308. all for me. His life flowing through US

  309. enables us, equips us, prepares us to walk a life worthy of him.

  310. John chapter 6 verse 32 says I tell you the truth, Moses didn't

    John 6:32

  311. give you bread from heaven, My Father did.

  312. They were arguing about Jesus giving them a sign just like

  313. Moses did with manna coming from heaven, because they were still

  314. thinking about material supply. Chapter 6, fascinating chapter,

  315. but they're thinking about material supply and Jesus says,

  316. I tell you the truth, Moses didn't give you bread from

  317. heaven, My Father did. And now he offers you the true

  318. bread from heaven. The true bread of God is the one

  319. who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.

  320. Sir, they said, give us that bread every day.

  321. And Jesus replied, I am the bread of life.

  322. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again.

  323. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty again.

  324. See, here's life, here's life, here's our hope, here's the

  325. fullness, and here's the one in whom we can rest.

  326. Our rest is found in our surrender.

  327. Mark 834 And Jesus called to him the throng with his disciples

  328. and said to them, if anyone intends to come after me, let

  329. him deny himself, forget, ignore disown and lose sight of himself

  330. and his own interests and take up his cross and joining me as a

  331. disciple and siding with my party, follow with me

  332. continually, cleaving steadfastly to me.

  333. Can you go back to the other slide?

  334. If anyone intends to come after me, let him deny himself.

  335. I like the amplifier because they'll give you the additional

  336. words that give you clarity around it.

  337. So it's deny himself, forget, ignore, disown, lose sight of

  338. himself and his own interests and take up his cross and follow

  339. me. You might look at that and say,

  340. but that's not fair. I don't want to lose who I am.

  341. That's not fair. You know, I like the things I've

  342. got. I like the things that that

  343. define me. I like the things that I've

  344. built up. God doesn't call you to deny

  345. yourself to lose you. He calls you to deny yourself

  346. because in Him you get the fool, you see, because we when we are

  347. found in Him who he made us to be, can become a reality.

  348. It's when we fight Him about our where he wants us to be.

  349. Later on we start saying, well, that kind of didn't work out or

  350. that wasn't quite the right way. But in denying ourselves and

  351. surrendering who we are, we we come into that place of his

  352. presence. We come into that place of his

  353. fullness. We come to that place where He

  354. can operate in US and through us to touch the world.

  355. I had this thought drop in my head and it is.

  356. It's not behaviour modification, it's surrender and it is a

  357. conflict to those times where we're so much we're trying to

  358. get this right. That doesn't mean we can't have

  359. behaviour modification, but the surrender comes first.

  360. But it's in our surrender we find the fullness of what God

  361. has for us and the fullness of life.

  362. The end of John chapter 6, verse 68, Jesus talked about bread of

    John 6:68

  363. being the bread of life. And then he talks about if you

  364. want, pardon me, you're going to have to eat my body and drink my

  365. blood. Well, a lot of them left.

  366. I was a bit too far from many of them.

  367. And he actually goes to the 12, the remaining disciples and he

  368. says, are you guys going to leave too?

  369. And here's Peter, Simon Peter answered, Lord, to whom should

  370. we go? You have the words of eternal

  371. life. Where else could we go?

  372. What else could we do? You're the source of eternal

  373. life. He had a revelation that in

  374. Jesus was life in resting in him, pressing into him that

  375. life, abundant life, hopeful life, transformational life,

  376. redeeming life. It's found in him.

  377. I said, where else are we going to go?

  378. What else could we do? There's nothing else like this

  379. we're in. Didn't He didn't say.

  380. I understood what you meant, right?

  381. He didn't say, yeah, I understand that.

  382. I understand your analogy that your body is the the bread and

  383. your your blood is the cup. And and in that we're going to

  384. end up having communion. And this is actually symbolic.

  385. He didn't say that. He said, yeah, I didn't even

  386. think he got it. I let's pretend he didn't get

  387. it. He I didn't get it.

  388. I didn't get everything you said, but you've got life and I

  389. need that. You're the source of life.

  390. I need that. I need the life that you have.

  391. John 11/20/26 When Martha got word that Jesus was coming, she

  392. went to meet him, but Mary stayed in the house and Martha

  393. said to Jesus, Lord if only you had been here, my brother would

  394. not have died. That was Lazarus.

  395. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.

  396. Jesus told her, your brother will rise again.

  397. Yes, Martha said, he will rise when everyone else rises.

  398. At the last day, she understood that there's a resurrection at

  399. the end of time. And Jesus told her, I am the

  400. resurrection and the life anyone who believes in me will live

  401. even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and

  402. believes in me will never, ever die.

  403. Do you believe this, Martha? See what a radical statement, he

  404. said. I am the resurrection and the

  405. life. Now you might look at that and

  406. say, but how do we never die? People die who would believe in

  407. Jesus? People.

  408. Yeah, my grandma loved the Lord, died at 94.

  409. She didn't live, but she did because he who believes in Him

  410. has eternal life. And in fact, when we believe in

  411. him and rest in Him, we die to our old ways and we walk into

  412. the new life of Christ Jesus. So our hope is now found in him.

  413. A lot of believers will say they transitioned.

  414. They just they just stepped through the vow into the glory

  415. of God's presence because they walk in his presence here.

  416. That's knowing the life of God. Why is his life?

  417. Why is he the the talk about his life so important?

  418. Why was the fact that he being life came as it said in John

  419. chapter one? Well, Leviticus 17 verse 11

    Leviticus 17:11

  420. explains it for us for the life of the body is in its blood.

  421. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making

  422. you right with the Lord. Now here it's talking about the

  423. Old Testament sacrifice where they would sacrifice a lamb, the

  424. bull, the heifer, and the sacrifice of the animal.

  425. The blood of the animal was actually a cover because of the

  426. life of the animal took dealt with the sin situation or

  427. covered it. It is the blood given in

  428. exchange for a life that makes purification possible or

  429. atonement possible. But here we have Jesus who is

  430. life, Jesus who is complete life and he sacrifices his life.

  431. He sheds his blood once and for all time.

  432. The one who is a resurrection and the life exchanged his

  433. blood, his life for our life. The one who is the absolute

  434. answer gave his life in exchange for our life.

  435. So when we believe in Him, we now step in to a covenant that

  436. is sealed not with the blood of bulls and goats and sheep, but

  437. by the precious blood of Jesus. First Peter chapter 1, Peter's

    1 Peter 1 chapter mention

  438. talking about it and he says, where are we?

  439. For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the

  440. empty life you inherited from your ancestors, and it was not

  441. paid with gold or silver, which lose their value.

  442. It's just not mere gold, not not things that rust to fall away,

  443. not things like silver. Those those things will go away.

  444. They didn't have the long term value.

  445. They'd have eternal value. No, no, it was your ransom was

  446. paid by the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless

  447. Lamb. And God chose him as your ransom

  448. long before the world began. But now in these last days, he

  449. has been revealed for your sake. And through Jesus Christ you

  450. have come to trust in God, and you have placed your faith and

  451. hoping God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave

  452. him great glory. You see, we are the

  453. beneficiaries of the life of Jesus poured out that we might

  454. step into that covenant and now be in complete relationship with

  455. Father God. Hebrews 722 says Jesus is a

  456. guarantee of a better covenant. He's the one who's established

  457. the new covenant in His blood. When we have communion, we are,

  458. we are remembering this new covenant, His body broken, that

  459. we may be whole, His blood poured, not spilled by action,

  460. but poured out as a sacrifice. That we may have life in him

  461. dealing with our sin, dealing with what separates us from God.

  462. We step in by believing in Him. What do we read over and over

  463. again? Come to me and believe in me.

  464. Come to me, Believe who I am, believe what I've done, and you

  465. get to walk into the covenant. We get to step in through the

  466. blood of Jesus. You know, whenever we take

  467. communion, we're remembering this amazing covenant, the life

  468. of God in exchange for your life, a life that will not fade,

  469. for a life that will eventually pass away, the eternal life He

  470. gives. We step into the covenant of the

  471. promise when we believe, and this is life for the wild.

  472. It's not just life for these four walls.

  473. This is life to live in the wildlife, to live when we're

  474. engaging with others and showing the love of Jesus with life that

  475. we can be able to present as a light to them, as a hope for

  476. them, as a strength for us as we live out this walk, as a life

  477. for the way we live our lives, as strength for it.

  478. The Lord God Almighty made away. The Lord God Almighty made away.

  479. It's not A to do list. It's Jesus.

  480. It's not self help. It's Jesus.

  481. It's not a rule book. It's Jesus.

  482. It's not a religion. It's Jesus, it's not my

  483. strength. It's Jesus, it's not a

  484. tradition, it's Jesus. Please stand up with me.

  485. I thank you, Father God, for your goodness.

  486. Lord, we thank you today for your promises are true.

  487. Lord, you are life. You are the life of our lives.

  488. You're the one who brings life in US and through us to touch a

  489. world that needs you. Your life is your life at work

  490. within us. To show forgiveness, to show

  491. love, to show your patience, to show your kindness, to show your

  492. goodness, to live a life of self-control.
