  1. Hi, and welcome to Venture Church Online. My name is

  2. Kelsey and I'm our online campus pastor. We're so glad

  3. that you're joining us. Drop a comment below of where

  4. you're streaming from. We love to interact with you. We

  5. hope that you enjoy today's service.

  6. I'm the lead pastor of the church. If you're new,

  7. I'd love the opportunity to meet you. I'll be hanging

  8. out in the lobby after the service. Please come up

  9. introduce yourself to me. I'd love to say hi to you.

  10. I'd love the opportunity to shake your hand. As Pastor

  11. Morgan mentioned, we have lots of chaotic construction going on

  12. around this building, and we're doing this because we want

  13. to invest in the next generation. It's expanding our kids ministry,

  14. our youth ministry, our adult classrooms. Obviously there's a balcony

  15. and our auditorium, and we are doing We started a

  16. couple of weeks ago our final push to raise all

  17. the rest of the money we need to finish God's House.

  18. Our goal has.

  19. Been to raise nine hundred thousand dollars want to pop

  20. up the thermometer. As of today, pretty awesome. We're up

  21. to one hundred and sixteen thousand dollars has been given

  22. in just a couple of weeks, So thank you again

  23. for your generosity. I got saved when I was in

  24. high school and started going to a private Christian high

  25. school in Seattle. Now, whenever our school didn't offer the

  26. opportunity to do sports that you normally want to do

  27. at a high school, we were allowed to participate in

  28. sports at the high school in the district where we lived.

  29. So I wrestled and played football at Bafel High School,

  30. and many friends were doing sports at other schools too,

  31. but specifically today I want to talk about wrestling. Wrestling

  32. practice at Bafel High School was horrible. It was terrible.

  33. I had friends that were wrestling at schools all over.

  34. In fact, my best friend wrestled at Edmund's Woodway High School,

  35. and oftentimes our wrestling room wasn't available till seven at night.

  36. So I would go to my friend's wrestling practice at

  37. Edmund's wood Way and then I would go to my

  38. wrestling practice at seven. And his practice was easy. It

  39. was in an air conditioned room. It was an hour

  40. and fifteen minutes of light cardio. But my wrestling practice

  41. was basically in a hot yoga studio, and it was

  42. three hours long. I was thinking about it before the service.

  43. Even practice would start right on time and our coach

  44. would hit a buzzer and we were to skip rope

  45. for fifteen minutes straight. So how we started practice and

  46. then he would blow a horn, and every time he

  47. blew a horn, we had to do a double. So,

  48. if you ever wonder why I'm so good at jumping rope,

  49. two years fifteen minutes a day of skipping rope, but

  50. our practices were terrible. It was all about cardio and

  51. then the drills. We would drill the same moves over

  52. and over and over and over again.

  53. Until we were board stiff of them.

  54. We would ask our coaches why our practices were so

  55. terrible and why we had to drill the same moves

  56. over and over again, And this is how they always responded.

  57. They said, we don't ever want you in a match

  58. in a tournament, asking yourself, have I practiced enough? We

  59. don't ever want you in a setting where you are

  60. wondering what you're supposed to do next when your opponent

  61. tries to perform a move. You have learned the counter

  62. move so well, it's natural reflex. It's funny, it's mean.

  63. We'll say it's only been thirty years since I was

  64. in high school, but even right now, I remember every

  65. wrestling move I knew in high school, and they were

  66. so drilled inside of me that they're just natural reflexes.

  67. I know how to take people down. I know how

  68. to do throws, I know how to do reversals, I

  69. know how to do crazy pins, all kinds of things

  70. like that because it was drilled into me. Then, in

  71. addition to that, the coach said, I never wanted you

  72. to face an opponent and wonder am I in good

  73. enough shape? You're never going to ask have I practiced enough?

  74. We have had planned for the last six months to

  75. begin a series today called break Free.

  76. In the series, we are.

  77. Going to focus on strongholds that people have in their

  78. life that they need to break free of. I don't

  79. think it is an accident, based upon what has been

  80. going on in our world over the last ten days,

  81. that God has us teaching a series that talks about

  82. how we overcome evil in our life. What is the

  83. response that we as Christians should have to the evil

  84. that we encounter in our life.

  85. You are going to have.

  86. Strongholds, and I want you to understand this. Sometimes what

  87. you're going through.

  88. Is spiritual.

  89. Now, I am all for counseling, I am all for therapy,

  90. I am all for recovery programs, but sometimes what you

  91. are experiencing, what is happening around you in the world,

  92. that this takes a spiritual solution. So what is the stronghold.

  93. A stronghold is something that anyone who's ever fought an

  94. addiction understands. A stronghold is someone who's ever struggled with

  95. pride or lust, struggles with habitual sin understands. A stronghold

  96. is anyone who has been bound with anxiety or depress understands.

  97. It can be a belief or a thought pattern that

  98. imprisons people in their own fears and doubts. A stronghold

  99. can manifest itself in negative thought patterns, unresolved trauma, or sin.

  100. A stronghold, in its total strength can keep an individual

  101. from experiencing God's fullness in their life. Church, I want

  102. you to understand that recognizing these strongholds is the first

  103. step to freedom. Today, I want us to look at

  104. Ephesians chapter six, verse ten. For some of you that

  105. have been at church before This is a familiar passage.

  106. Starting mid October, we're going to begin a series through

  107. the Book of Ephesians, so this is going to be

  108. taught through a again. But sometimes being taught through the

  109. same passage in a different way is important because repetition

  110. is the key to retention. And this is the teaching

  111. I want you to have woven into the fabric of

  112. your life. I want you to understand these principles inside

  113. and out, so that when the moment comes that you

  114. need to access what God is teaching us here.

  115. You don't have to.

  116. Ask yourself have I practiced enough? But it becomes reflex

  117. for you in your life. Sesians, chapter six, verse ten.

  118. These are the words of Paul to the church in Ephesus.

  119. He said, finally, be strong in the Lord and in

  120. his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God,

  121. so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

  122. I want to ask you.

  123. You want to buy your heads, close your eyes, repeat

  124. this prayer after me. Everyone, say, Dear Jesus, speak to

  125. my heart, change my life in Jesus' name.

  126. Amen, allow me to get.

  127. Very spiritual with you. This is what I see happening

  128. in our world. You have to understand first off, your

  129. nature as a follower of Jesus. You need to understand

  130. your nature as a Christian. So as a Christian, you are,

  131. by your nature, a fighter. You have the spirit of

  132. Christ inside of you.

  133. People ask me all the time, Peb.

  134. Why is your social media handle fight Pastor? And I

  135. always give them this cliche response.

  136. I say, that's because I.

  137. Serve the ultimate fighter and Jesus is the ultimate fighter.

  138. Now, people that.

  139. Don't have a lot of church background, it offends them

  140. because they think Jesus is a pacifist.

  141. And I always tell them.

  142. Jesus fought death, hell, and the grave and live to

  143. tell the world about it. Jesus is the ultimate fighter.

  144. You have the spirit of Christ inside of you, which

  145. means you have the spirit of a fighter inside of you.

  146. So if you buy your nature are a fighter. All

  147. you want to do is fight. And if you who

  148. are not fighting who you are supposed to fight, you

  149. will fight who you're not supposed to fight.

  150. Because you can't help it.

  151. When someone posts something online that irritates you. You're a fighter.

  152. If you're not fighting who you're supposed to fight, you

  153. think You're supposed to fight that keyboard warrior who lives

  154. in his parents' basement at thirty years old. You know

  155. that's true. You are supposed to be fighting the enemy

  156. of your soul.

  157. You're supposed to be fighting for the broken. You're supposed

  158. to be fighting for the hurting.

  159. You and I are supposed to be fighting for those

  160. who cannot fight for themselves. You and I are created

  161. to fight, and when we aren't fighting who were supposed

  162. to be fighting, oftentimes we end up fighting each other.

  163. While you and I have been fighting each other failing

  164. to recognize who is our true enemy, there is a

  165. massive spiritual battle going on. One of the things that

  166. I'm super thankful I'm thankful for getting saved at a wild, crazy,

  167. charismatic church. Oh there's many things I'm not thankful about it,

  168. but one of the things that I'm thankful for is

  169. from the moment I.

  170. Got saved, I knew that there was a world.

  171. That I could not see happening around me. That while

  172. you and I are just going through our daily life,

  173. there is a legion of demons prowling this earth, fighting

  174. legion of angels on a regular basis. If we could

  175. have our eye open, you would see that there is

  176. a war in the heavenlies going on right now over

  177. your soul, over your friends souls, over your kids souls.

  178. There is a war in the heavenlyes over their lives.

  179. You see, whether you or I like it or not.

  180. Just as we celebrate there being a heaven, there is

  181. a hell. Just as there is a Jesus who loves you,

  182. there is an enemy of your soul who hates you.

  183. Just as there is a savior who forgives your sin,

  184. there is a deceiver whose soul aim is to keep.

  185. You bound in it.

  186. Just as there is a Jesus who wants you to

  187. have a healthy marriage, there is an enemy that wants

  188. to destroy your marriage. Just as there is a Jesus

  189. who wants you to live a life of radical generosity

  190. and contagious unity, there is an enemy who wants you

  191. to be stingy and quarrelsome. Just as there is a

  192. Jesus who wants to deliver you out of the mess

  193. of your life, there is an enemy who wants to

  194. lock you deeper into it. So Paul said, be strong

  195. in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on

  196. the full armor of God. So that you can stand

  197. against the devil's schemes. If I only taught that verse,

  198. there's two things you should learn.

  199. Number one, we'll learn the goal.

  200. The goal is that you and I as followers of Jesus,

  201. that we can stand when.

  202. The world is raging around us.

  203. We stand that when all of hell comes against us,

  204. we stand.

  205. That is the goal.

  206. That we would learn how to stand in a world

  207. that opposes what we stand for. Then the second thing

  208. we learned from this verse is we learn the devil

  209. has schemes. If you didn't learn anything in the last

  210. ten days, I hope you will stop denying that there

  211. is a devil and there's a hell, and that he

  212. has schemes. I don't want to just focus today on

  213. the Charlie Kirks thing. That is terrible. What happened to

  214. Charlie Kirk is evil, it's horrible, it's wrong. But I

  215. want you to look at everything that's happened over the

  216. last ten days that we know of, Like we also

  217. know that there was an innocent girl riding the subway

  218. and is brutally murdered on a subway.

  219. Evil, wrong, horrible.

  220. We know that while all this is going on, there

  221. was another school shooting in Colorado. Now I feel so

  222. bad for you parents, because we believe as parents that

  223. when we release our kids to school, school should be

  224. the one place where we don't have to worry about

  225. our kids. It should be the one place that is safe.

  226. But the devil has even robbed that. And I want

  227. to make a statement right now, quote me, tweet this.

  228. I don't care. The Bible is so clear on murder.

  229. Murder is wrong, period, No but about it. People that

  230. are trying to explain away, justify, blame it on mental illness,

  231. blame it on hateful words that were said, trying to

  232. justify someone taking the life of someone else is because

  233. those people are influenced by evil. That's the only reason

  234. why you'd believe that. The only reason that you would

  235. ever believe murder, even a hint of justification, can happen,

  236. is because you do not understand that there is a

  237. war in the heavenlys and there is an evil presence

  238. that is trying to get you to believe in accept evil.

  239. And when you add it, yes, murder's wrong. But I

  240. preached the sermon years ago when the George Floyd thing happened.

  241. I said, don't be a buttthead. Stop saying butt this

  242. is wrong. Black. If you say that you are being

  243. influenced by evil, murder is murder, and it's wrong.

  244. By the way, I'm not saying that you were evil

  245. for saying that.

  246. I'm just being honest and saying you are being influenced

  247. by evil. So Paul told the church in ephesis, put

  248. on the former of God so that you can take

  249. your stand against the devil's schemes. Then he says verse twelve,

  250. this is the big one Church, catch it. He says,

  251. our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Church. If

  252. you are a follower of Jesus, you're a fighter. You

  253. can't help it. You just want to fight because the

  254. nature and spirit of a fighter.

  255. Resides inside of you.

  256. When you find yourself fighting flesh and blood, you are

  257. not fighting who you're supposed to fight. Because our struggle

  258. is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,

  259. against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world,

  260. and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

  261. We are not supposed to fight people.

  262. We are supposed to step back, have perspective and know

  263. Sometimes people are influenced by evil, and instead of fighting

  264. the person, I fight the evil that influences them. The

  265. amount of people over the last week that have called

  266. me and said, man, I got all these friends. They're

  267. posting this on social media. They're talking to me about this.

  268. They're saying this, and I want to respond with this.

  269. I say, you know, you should respond rah them. Stop

  270. seeing what they say. Sometimes people that are influenced by

  271. the enemy say things that you and I aren't gonna

  272. agree with. But whenever you try to fight someone who's

  273. influenced by the enemy, you are not fighting what is

  274. actually influencing them.

  275. Instead of trying.

  276. To rebuke the person, rebuke the devourer who's trying to

  277. destroy their lives. I gotta be honest. I lead a

  278. conservative church. You can't have my personality and not kick

  279. people off. So the church gets.

  280. Bad reviews all the time.

  281. And every time the church gets a bad review, there's

  282. some loving, sweet person in the church wants to notify

  283. me that there was a bad review. First off, thanks

  284. for pointing out that someone doesn't like me. And I

  285. always respond that whatever I mean, this is the world

  286. that we live in now. I stand for the things

  287. of Jesus. I stand for righteousness. I believe God's word

  288. is the inherentive word of God, which means I am

  289. the most countercultural person that lives, which means in a

  290. culture that does not agree with my worldview, they're gonna

  291. get mad at me when I don't compromise it. So

  292. somebody was trolling me on Twitter, and I did what

  293. any good Christian would do, typed out a response to him,

  294. and then I deleted the response and blocked him. Therefore,

  295. Verse thirteen put on the fularmer of God, so that

  296. when the day of evil comes, you may be able

  297. to stand your ground and after everything you have done

  298. to stand.

  299. Remember that's the goal.

  300. I mean. Paul didn't say if the day of evil comes,

  301. He said, when it comes, you and I cannot live

  302. in some euphoric Disneyland dream that thinks everything is gonna

  303. be awesome all the time. Evil will come, But your

  304. response to evil is decided by how you practice when

  305. the day of evil comes. You can't throw your hands

  306. up and say do I know the Bible enough? You

  307. can't say have I prayed enough? Man?

  308. I really wish I'd gone to church more.

  309. When the day of evil comes, it's going to come

  310. the goal is that you can stand. And then Paul says,

  311. and then after everything, you and I we're still standing.

  312. So you don't need to fear any of this evil.

  313. That's the coolest thing about this You don't need to

  314. be afraid of it.

  315. You don't need to be.

  316. You only need to be aware of it and on

  317. your guard with it, and having prepared everything, take your stand.

  318. The coolest thing about the Bible when you study it,

  319. you will find out really quickly that Jesus, in his

  320. word has already taught us how we are to respond

  321. when evil comes. And he's also told us how we

  322. practice for the day when evil comes. And that is

  323. what Paul is trying to help the church in Ephesis with.

  324. So he's using an analogy and he talks about putting

  325. on the full armor of God. Now this was two

  326. thousand years ago. This was in Ephesus, which at that

  327. time was in the region of Asia Minor, which was

  328. under Roman rule. And when you are living in a

  329. city or region under Roman rule, you know what you're

  330. used to seeing Roman soldiers everywhere. Their armor alone struck

  331. fear into the minds of people. Their armor was meant

  332. to be a deterrent against anti Roman behavior. So Paul

  333. uses what everyone understood. He uses this analogy about putting

  334. on the full armor of God. Now again in twenty

  335. twenty five, we might use a different metaphor, but I

  336. want to use Paul's metaphor. And I have some liturgy.

  337. What does the word liturgy mean? A lot of our

  338. teenagers are here. What does it mean? It means something

  339. that you do continue continuously, over and over and over again.

  340. So every day I get up, I pray two things.

  341. I pray the psalm that says test search my heart,

  342. O God, test and know my anxious thoughts, and see

  343. if there's any wickedness in me, and if there is,

  344. lead me in the way of everlasting. That is me

  345. praying Lord, I need you to examine me. I've probably

  346. done a bunch of dumb things in the last twenty

  347. four hours that I need to repent of. That I'm

  348. not even aware that I need to repent of. So

  349. it's just me saying Jesus, forgive me for all my

  350. sins because I don't know what today holds. Because when

  351. I stand before you, I don't want to ask. Have

  352. I trained enough? So make sure that my heart is right,

  353. and I'm ready to meet you at any moment. Second

  354. thing I pray is I put on the full armor

  355. of God because I know the devil has schemes, and

  356. when the devil, the day of evil comes, I don't

  357. want to ask did I remember to pray that today?

  358. Did I read my Bible enough this week? When the

  359. day of evil comes? I wanted to be reflex and

  360. how I respond, because it is so drilled into my heart,

  361. how I am supposed to respond when someone trolls me

  362. on Twitter, when someone protests me, when someone goes at me.

  363. I want to know how I'm supposed to respond. So

  364. Paul describes putting on the full armor of God. That's

  365. what I want to teach you today.

  366. Are you guys still with me?

  367. Are you mad at me? You probably already heard me

  368. say I wouldn't care if you were Verse fourteen. It's

  369. the stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled

  370. around your waist. What does this mean? So every day

  371. I put on the belt of truth. And that is

  372. because all the enemy does is lie. All the enemy

  373. does is use other people to lie to me about me.

  374. They question my motives, They say, you only care that

  375. you lead a megachurch. Your church, it's all about money.

  376. Every time I come to your church. The only thing

  377. you're ever talking about is money. You know.

  378. I hear stuff like that all the time.

  379. That the troll on Twitter said, I went to one

  380. of your worship nights. It was a cultish prayer of

  381. healing night. I don't believe the lies that come from

  382. someone influenced by evil man. I believe what Jesus says

  383. about me. You know what Jesus says about me. He

  384. thinks I'm awesome. Teenagers, you go back to high school,

  385. you're gonna have people. They're gonna talk smack about you.

  386. They're gonna gossip about you. Just remember he thinks you're awesome.

  387. Believe what he says. You know what he says.

  388. He says, I am more than a conqueror. He says,

  389. I am forgiven. He says, I'm loved. He says, if

  390. I have faith, it's small as a mustard seed. I

  391. could say to this mountain, move from here to there,

  392. and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for me.

  393. Put on the belt of truth. Don't believe the lies

  394. of the evil one. Believe what Jesus says about you.

  395. The only way you'll know what he says about you,

  396. if you're reading what he says about you, if you're

  397. memorizing what he says about you. So then let's go

  398. on and of verse fourteen, it says, stand firm with

  399. the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the

  400. breastplate of righteousness in place. So then you put on

  401. the breastplate of righteousness. What is a breastplate? Guard guards

  402. your heart? Did you know that one of the number

  403. one things the enemy is trying to destroy in our

  404. world today is your heart. He's trying to draw your

  405. affections from the direction they should go into the wrong direction.

  406. Husbands and wives, you know what the enemy is going.

  407. To try to do.

  408. Your affection should be towards your spouse. He's going to

  409. try to draw your affections in another place. Your affection

  410. should be towards him. But the enemy is going to

  411. try to destroy your heart because he knows that our

  412. hearts are the key to our relationships with Jesus. At

  413. the end of the service, some of you that don't

  414. know Jesus, I'm gonna give you the opportunity to give

  415. your heart to Jesus.

  416. But just as Jesus.

  417. Wants your heart.

  418. There is an enemy that wants to keep your heart

  419. from Jesus.

  420. So you put on the breathtplate of righteousness to guard

  421. your heart, so that your affections will beat towards Jesus.

  422. Be careful who you give your heart to.

  423. Verse fifteen. He then says, and with your feet fitted

  424. firmly with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace.

  425. Then talks about our feet, talks about our fat foundation.

  426. He says, having your feet fitted firmly.

  427. With the Gospel of Peace.

  428. One of the things that I hated about wrestling practice.

  429. I mean, we're varsity wrestlers, we are state wrestlers.

  430. We outstate champs.

  431. In our wrestling room, he would spend fifteen minutes of

  432. every practice working on our stances. We learned this when

  433. we were eight. So why did he have us work

  434. on this? Because he knew you can know everything else,

  435. but if you don't have your foundation right, you're gonna

  436. lose that. Everything boils down to your foundation. Mine in

  437. your foundation is set on the Gospel of Peace. It

  438. is a piece that passes all understanding. What does that mean?

  439. It's gonna be a piece that doesn't make sense. The

  440. world is falling and utter chaos around you. You have peace.

  441. We had all of our life and all of our volunteers.

  442. We pray before every service, every single week, and that

  443. was what we prayed. We prayed that you'd come here

  444. today in this place would be peaceful, it'd be like

  445. peace in the midst of the storm, that this place

  446. would be a refuge. By the ways, that's the way

  447. your homes should be for your kids. Your home should

  448. be a place of peace. Your home should be a refuge.

  449. How do you make this place a place of peace?

  450. God's word firmly in your heart, God's word in your mind.

  451. God's word provides comfort. God's word provides peace in the

  452. midst of the storm. No matter what we're dealing with,

  453. what we're going through, God's word gives us peace.

  454. I don't think it is an accident.

  455. That on the day that Charlie Kirk was murdered, he

  456. posted on his Twitter about God being his refuge. I

  457. don't think that's an accident. That is someone that when

  458. the day of evil came, didn't have to pause and

  459. think did I practice enough? Man? I really wish I

  460. had been going to church for the last six months.

  461. Don't let that be you.

  462. Let's keep moving on. He's still with me. Verse sixteen.

  463. In addition to all of this, take up the shield

  464. of faith. So again, if you've ever seen images of

  465. wars that involve Roman soldiers, you see them with their

  466. Roman shields, and you know that the enemy fires darts

  467. at them, or tarts arrows. It's been a long, long week,

  468. and whenever a battle begins, the archers light their arrows

  469. on fire and they rain down fire on the enemy.

  470. We've all seen those images by now, and you know

  471. that what they do is the soldiers will hold up

  472. their shields, and if they hold their shield in the

  473. right place, the arrows don't penetrate the shield and they're

  474. able to withstand the onslaught. So that is the imagery

  475. that Paul is using. But then he explains who's shooting

  476. the arrows. He says, take up the shield of faith,

  477. with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of

  478. the evil one. You know, he's constantly shooting arrows at you,

  479. constantly me, he's trying to burn your life to the ground.

  480. He wants to burn your marriage to the ground. He

  481. wants to burn your kids to the ground. Take up

  482. the shield of faith, and there's a promise. If you

  483. take up the shield of faith, you extinguish these arrows

  484. that come from the enemy. So every day I take

  485. up the shield of faith, and I.

  486. Call this the I wills.

  487. I speak in faith what I will do, and like,

  488. if you ever see me do this, I am like

  489. marching around pointing at the ground. Sometimes I start shouting

  490. and I'm saying, ah, if.

  491. I have faith as small as a mustards seat.

  492. I say things like, we will raise nine hundred thousand

  493. dollars by the end of the year. I refuse to

  494. be consumed with doubt and fear over nine hundred thousand dollars.

  495. We will do this, just like I refuse to live

  496. in fear. Instead, you you say that I wills. Then finally,

  497. verse seventeen, take up the helmet of salvation. What is

  498. a helmet guard guards your head? What's in your head?

  499. Your brain? In other words, the helmet of salvation guards

  500. your mind. There are some of you you come to

  501. church every single week and you still wonder if you're saved.

  502. Put on the helmet of salvation that will guard your mind.

  503. There is a battle in the world today for your mind.

  504. The devil does not want you thinking with a clear mind,

  505. so he shouts lies at you. He tries to get

  506. you to do something that will not make you think right.

  507. That's why he wants you to smoke weed, because in

  508. the end he knows you won't be able to think right.

  509. You don't have the full faculty of.

  510. Your mind when you're high. And if that doesn't work,

  511. he tries narcotics. If that doesn't work, he wants you

  512. to think it's okay to get drunk. Now, I'm not

  513. somebody who preaches against alcohol. I don't have an issue

  514. if you drink in moderation, but I have an issue

  515. if you get drunk, because when people get drunk, they

  516. do things that are stupid. You know how many times

  517. people have come to my office and the appointment starts

  518. with I.

  519. Drank too much.

  520. Because you don't have you're not in your right mind,

  521. because the.

  522. Devil wants your mind.

  523. Paul Sitt in Romans, he said, don't conform to the

  524. pattern of this world. The world thinks differently than you.

  525. They think people on Facebook they think differently than you.

  526. People on Instagram, Twitter, they think differently than you. Your neighbors.

  527. They think differently than you. Why do you care? Don't

  528. conform to the pattern of this world, but instead be

  529. transformed by the renewing of your mind. I want my

  530. mind clear and sharp and on the things of God.

  531. Now, I just want to know God's word.

  532. I want God's word in my heart. I do this

  533. thing called Pastor's Huddle, where I mentor a group of

  534. guys for a year. And the guys in Pastor's Huddle

  535. will tell you that Brandon just constantly quotes scripture.

  536. He can't tell you what the reference is.

  537. I don't memorize that, but he's quoting scripture left and right.

  538. Why do I do that? Because that's what my mind

  539. dwells on. I want to be transformed by the renewing

  540. of my mind because I know the enemy is trying

  541. to He's a battle for my eyes, a battle for

  542. what my mouth says, a battle for what my ears here.

  543. I want to watch what I see. I want to

  544. be careful what I listen to. I want to be

  545. careful what I think. Have you noticed everything so far

  546. is all about protecting yourself in battle. He hasn't given

  547. us the fun stuff yet, Like, how do we fight

  548. I know how to protect myself. How do I fight?

  549. Then he ends this whole discourse by explaining what our

  550. weapons are. He says, put on the helmet of salvation.

  551. And then the sword of the Spirit, which is the

  552. Word of God. So what is your sword? So you

  553. got a picture you carry a sword as the follower

  554. of Jesus is some of you only carry a wimpy, pansy,

  555. flimsy sword because your sword comes from God's word. When

  556. you recite God's word, you got to picture a sword

  557. cutting through the air. Principalities fall, strongholds fall, evil flees

  558. when the word of God is proclaimed. I always tell

  559. our staff that it is not our persuasive words as

  560. communicators that change or impact anyone's life. What changes people's

  561. lives is when we teach the word of God. Because

  562. God's word, when it penetrates your heart, it transforms you

  563. from the inside out.

  564. It changes you.

  565. You take up the sword or to the spirit, which

  566. is the word. Demons flee at the word, Devils run

  567. at the word of God. And then Paul said, and

  568. the last thing you need to do pray. Pray in

  569. the spirit. And he says, but also I want you

  570. to pray for me, Pray that I'll preach God's word

  571. with boldness, Pray that I will be fearless.

  572. In fact, he talks about being fearless twice.

  573. Be fearless when the day of evil comes. You don't

  574. want to ask have I practiced enough? I don't know

  575. if I know how to deal with this.

  576. I don't know if I know the right moves, how.

  577. To counter this move. You don't want to go into

  578. any battle, any fight. Your practice isn't good enough. All

  579. week long, people texting me, minister, friends texting me. In fact,

  580. I got multiple texts yesterday saying, Brandon, are you gonna

  581. go there on Sunday? Are you gonna go there? Like?

  582. Am I gonna talk about what happened to Charlie Kirk

  583. and call sin and evil? Sin and evil? Am I

  584. gonna talk about what happened to the Ukrainian gal on

  585. the subway? Am I gonna talk about the school?

  586. And I was like, of course?

  587. And they said, well what if people get mad? I

  588. don't really care, Like, I just want to preach God's word,

  589. in the truth of God's word, with courage, boldness and fearlessly.

  590. And in the end, this is God's church. This is

  591. God's house. And I'm gonna tell you this. If I've

  592. said things that have bothered you, is it possible that's

  593. the enemy shouting at you. All I've really done is

  594. exegete an entire passage of scripture.

  595. How many of you grew up in.

  596. The eighties, anybody in the eighties? People? All right, good

  597. gen xers. In the eighties. There's a cartoon called Bugs Bunny.

  598. He grew up in the eighties. You remember Bugs Bunny.

  599. But you remember those Bugs Bunny cartoons because whenever Bugs

  600. Bunny had a choice to make, he had a decision,

  601. and the decision was controversial, he'd have a little evil

  602. Bugs Bunny demon that would pop up on his left shoulder,

  603. and that demon would try to convince him to do

  604. everything wrong, and he would shout at him, just do it,

  605. no one will care, who cares, go for it. And

  606. then he would have on his right shoulder a little

  607. angelic bugs Money pop up, talking like a metrosexual. It's

  608. true he did, saying no, you shouldn't do that. It's wrong. Well,

  609. the enemy's shouting and the good guy is whispering. So

  610. Bugs Bunny usually did what was wrong. You realize that

  611. the enemy shouts at you, He shouts at you, but the.

  612. Holy Spirit whispers to you.

  613. When that day comes, the decision comes, the day of

  614. evil comes. You just want to, out of reflex, boot

  615. the demon like I rebuke you. In Jesus' name, I

  616. want to ask everyone to buy your heads, close your eyes.

  617. You have weapons, you have armor, the guarantee you victory

  618. no matter what you face. I do want to tell

  619. you that only a fool would go into battle without

  620. their armor on. And I don't think it's very wise

  621. to go into battle not knowing what your weapons are.

  622. But today, the number one thing I care about is

  623. are you right with Jesus? When things like what are

  624. going on in our world happen and it makes this

  625. pause and we wonder, We think about eternity, we think

  626. about what could happen?

  627. Are you right with Jesus? There are some of you.

  628. You were here today and you never gone to church before,

  629. You've never asked Jesus to be your lord and savior.

  630. Well, today's your day.

  631. I'm going to count to three, and when I say three,

  632. I want you to raise your hand. But there are

  633. some of you. You've gone to church, you've prayed, prayers.

  634. But honestly, you know you're far from God. But if

  635. you want to say today, I want to leave this

  636. place knowing I am right with Jesus. When I say three,

  637. I want you to raise your hand. Here I go one, two, three,

  638. raise your hand. Now come on, raise it up. Hands

  639. up everywhere else?

  640. Can?

  641. I ask everybody to stand up on your feet. Those

  642. of you that raise your hands, we have a card

  643. for you. It says I said yes to Jesus. Click

  644. the QR code takes you to our website and it

  645. walks through next steps for you and what we suggest

  646. you do next. But the very first thing you need

  647. to do is to ask Jesus to forgive you and

  648. invite him into your life and adventure. We're family, so

  649. we do this together. So I want to ask everyone

  650. here to buy your heads, close your eyes, and I

  651. want to invite you to repeat this prayer after me.

  652. But for those of you that raise your hands, know

  653. that you leave this place no, your sins are forgiven

  654. and you are right with Jesus. So I when everyone

  655. to repeat after me, Everyone say, dear Jesus, I stand

  656. before you today. I admit I've messed up. I've made mistakes.

  657. But today I ask you to forgive me. I invite

  658. you to come into my life and to change me.

  659. I choose from this day forward to serve you with

  660. my life. Thank you for forgiving me and for saving me.

  661. In Jesus' name.

  662. Amen, Hey, can we thank Pastor Brandon for that message
