  1. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Love Quest International

  2. Church Podcast, where we seek to love all nations, equip the

  3. church, mobilize the equipped, and serve all.

  4. We're super glad you're joining us from whenever and wherever

  5. you're at in the world. Welcome to the family to get

  6. your Bibles ready, get some water, get some coffee, maybe

  7. some tea, and get ready to receive.

  8. Let's get into it. I think today is the best day

  9. for transformation. Faith is not really faith until

  10. the wind begins to antagonize your faith.

  11. I was thinking about all the wonderful, powerful word that

  12. God has been given us, and it has been wonderful and powerful.

  13. And then you just kind of open your eyes the next day and you

  14. like, whoa, trouble didn't go anywhere.

  15. Oh, crap, temptation is still there.

  16. Oh, bills are still there. Oh, that person actually still

  17. get on my nerves and I'm filled with the Holy Ghost.

  18. But faith is not really faith until the wind begins to

  19. antagonize your faith. You can have a word, but you

  20. still got to stand on it. I've seen some familiar faces

  21. this morning and I wonder if the word is working for you.

  22. Here's what I do know. The word is working for

  23. everybody, but are you working the word?

  24. You still got to stand on it. This is why it's called the good

  25. fight of faith. You cannot call yourself a good,

  26. good athlete, a good boxer, if you don't know how to stand.

  27. If I can get you off balance, this is what the enemy loves to

  28. do in our lives is get us off balance.

  29. Somebody say off balance, Paul calls it the good fight of

  30. faith. It's a fight, right?

  31. Watch this. Your faith ain't good if you

  32. don't know how to fight by faith.

  33. I think everybody in here know how to fight.

  34. And some of you really good at picking fights.

  35. I could tell, I could tell. But can you let your faith fight

  36. for you? The good fight?

  37. Somebody say the good fight. And when the wind blows, here's

  38. what it does. It challenges our posture.

  39. So have you ever seen like these stories, tornadoes and Hollywood

  40. exaggerates it and they're holding on to a pole and the

  41. wind is blowing. Or you see those news anchors

  42. whose jobs is to go report smack in the middle of a windstorm and

  43. they're really reporting it. The wind comes to challenge your

  44. posture. Don't be mad at the wind for

  45. blowing. You should probably thank the

  46. wind for exposing you actually aren't as strong as you thought

  47. you was. You're not as healed as you

  48. thought you was. That vice is not working as much

  49. as you thought it was. So today I pray, Lord, that you

  50. strengthen our faith and align our posture to the Word today,

  51. for we need you not just today, but forevermore.

  52. And he arose and rebuked the wind.

  53. He arose and rebuke the wind. He arose and rebuked the wind

  54. and said to the sea. He got up.

  55. He rebuked the wind and said to the sea.

  56. Somebody said to the sea, He said to the sea, Hush now.

  57. Hush now is a little different than be quiet, please.

  58. Hush now is a little different than why you bothering me still

  59. Hush now, be still muzzled. And the wind ceased, sank to

  60. rest as if exhausted by its beating, and there was

  61. immediately a great calm, a perfect peacefulness.

  62. Once you see this, he got up posture, he rebuked the wind

  63. authority, He said to the sea, Hush, be still.

  64. And the wind ceased. I need you to see something.

  65. The wind was the source of chaos.

  66. Now if you was to say, who am I in this story, I will help you.

  67. You are the sea. The sea did not argue with the

  68. rebuke. It did not negotiate with Jesus.

  69. When the Lord spoke, the sea became what still.

  70. And I believe the Lord is inviting us into the same

  71. response today. So as the Lord spoke to the sea,

  72. I sensed the Lord saying to many of us today, enough is enough.

  73. Be like the sea and be still. Today I'm here to talk to your

  74. soul. Whenever a person is anxious,

  75. it's in the soul realm. Whenever a person is depressed,

  76. it's in the soul realm. When you lose control, when you

  77. are renewing your mind, it is saying you are renewing your

  78. soul. It is your thinker, your filler,

  79. your chooser. And it comes a point where you

  80. have to rebuke the sea. God has to send a word to you

  81. and say enough is enough, be still, Love quest.

  82. We've thought peace is the absence of storms, but it's not.

  83. And we've assumed stillness is the absence of movement.

  84. But it's not. Stillness is a response to

  85. authority, not to an emotional angst, although the angst may

  86. trigger the revelation that I need to be still.

  87. The peace of the Kingdom follows command, not effort.

  88. And in knowing that stillness is enabled by obedience, I want you

  89. to see calm was a result of stillness.

  90. Stillness is not calm. Calm came after steel.

  91. Stillness is what enthroned the king, and peace is the Kingdom

  92. that expands within, overwhelming our lives.

  93. Once he rules and he governs, watch this.

  94. Peace is the Kingdom expanding. Stillness is what enthroned the

  95. King. Peace is the result of the king

  96. being enthroned. What'd you say?

  97. The he is the Prince of peace. If the Prince don't got a seat

  98. then peace don't have a place to roam.

  99. Pay close attention. This means if peace is missing,

  100. it's not because God is not present, It's often because we

  101. are still moving anxiously and frantically, concerned where

  102. He's already conquered and ruling.

  103. What's this? If I'm not experiencing peace,

  104. it's not because the Prince of Peace isn't present, it's

  105. because I am still moving where he is ruling.

  106. I am still trying to make stuff happen where he's already made

  107. it happen. Peace is always present and if

  108. you are not experiencing it, it's because you are still

  109. moving where he has already settled it.

  110. Stillness is not calm or inactivity.

  111. Do they know Today's message is be still?

  112. If I haven't said it already, it's be still.

  113. It's be still, It's, it's be still.

  114. And throughout this experience, you should probably just as the

  115. Holy Ghost moves upon you, or if you hear it, if I trigger it

  116. somewhere, just whisper under your breath to your soul, be

  117. still. Because what's the truth is,

  118. things are going to stir up. Things are going to come up

  119. while I'm talking about being still.

  120. Your anxious mind is going to have some moments, promise you

  121. even now for some of you, here it is.

  122. Watch this. Stillness causes your soul to

  123. panic. So even me talking about being

  124. still, if you pay attention to your soul, it's panicking.

  125. Stillness is not calm. Stillness is not calm or

  126. inactivity. It is the moment we stop or step

  127. out of unauthorized authority. Yeah, yeah.

  128. Stillness. It's not calm or inactivity.

  129. It is the moment that you and I step out of an unauthorized

  130. authority. Some of us in here and a lot of

  131. us in here are entangled, busy, entertaining things, places, and

  132. people. God never told you to help.

  133. God never needed your opinion. He didn't need your hands.

  134. He didn't need your money. He didn't need your time.

  135. And you over here busy in areas God already handling stillness

  136. is not calm or inactivity. It is the moment we step out of

  137. unauthorized authority, right to watch this.

  138. I'm about to help you with something.

  139. There is a statement that has discipled us all our lives, and

  140. some of you think it's in the Bible, but it's actually a

  141. cultural proverb. It sounds biblical, but has

  142. quietly reshaped how many of us live.

  143. And here's the statement. God helps those who helped

  144. themselves. You thought that was in the

  145. Bible, didn't you? Cultural proverb.

  146. God helps those who helps themselves.

  147. Yeah, be still and pay attention to that.

  148. How that really sound under the government of the Holy Ghost

  149. right now. God helps those, but you've got

  150. to help yourself. It's not scripture, but it has

  151. discipled generations. It's a cultural proverb, not

  152. scripture. Understand this?

  153. This proverb teaches us responsibility equals control.

  154. This proverb teaches us faith means staying in motion.

  155. If I'm not moving, I'm not faith in.

  156. If I'm not working, I'm not in faith.

  157. This proverb teaches us, watch this, that stopping means to

  158. fall apart. I got to be doing something or

  159. my dreams will never happen if I don't do something.

  160. I'll never get that account if I don't do something right.

  161. God helps those who help themselves.

  162. Let me ask you, how has helping yourself helped you and God?

  163. This proverb also teaches us that saying no means you will be

  164. left all alone. So I got to go and do this

  165. because if I don't, I may lose a friend or I may never get this

  166. opportunity again. I mean, never get a man again if

  167. I don't take this one, this woman, if I don't take this one,

  168. this opportunity, if I don't take this one, this amount of

  169. money if I don't take this one. So let me sign the contract.

  170. Let me let me date the person, let me marry the person, let me

  171. have the kids now because I may never get kids because I'm

  172. getting older. Oh, so that means you have not

  173. submitted your womb to God. OK.

  174. Saying no means left all alone. Watch this.

  175. And we know seed time and harvest.

  176. So there's fruit with this thinking.

  177. So the fruits of this thinking produces restless souls.

  178. The fruits of yeah, God don't help me, but I got to help me

  179. first. In other words, I got to help

  180. God help me. It produces restless souls.

  181. It produces anxious minds. It produces.

  182. Watch this. This is good, exhausted efforts.

  183. Oh, I see you. I see you serving.

  184. I see you showing up. I see you working.

  185. But you're exhausted. Your efforts are exhausted.

  186. Your efforts aren't maxed. Your efforts aren't potent.

  187. Your efforts aren't anointed. Your efforts aren't strategic.

  188. Your efforts are exhausted because you are not aiming your

  189. efforts at divine purpose. You are aiming your, your

  190. efforts and your your. Here's what it is You shoot dice

  191. with your efforts, wonder why you crap out so much and hit

  192. every now and then. When are we going to?

  193. Where are we going to be still long enough to be efficient in

  194. our planting the seeds and our efforts and our time and our

  195. energy? Sure, if you shoot 100 times,

  196. you're for sure going to make at least one.

  197. And that's how we shoot in life is let's try all of these

  198. things. It feels like faith.

  199. It looks good to my peers because look at what I'm doing,

  200. look at what I can do. But then you're barely

  201. successful at 1:00. Watch this.

  202. This is not because life is hard.

  203. This fruit is not because life is hard, pay attention, but it's

  204. because we are helping ourselves in places God never authorized

  205. us to govern. I know you want to start that

  206. business. I know you want to start that

  207. ministry. I know you want to help them

  208. people. I know you want to buy that

  209. house. I know you want to rent that

  210. place. I know you want to go here.

  211. But let me ask you something. Did God authorize you to govern

  212. that Whatever you take possession of, you are required

  213. to govern? So if you understand that, then

  214. you should understand that you need God to govern it or you

  215. don't have the grace to have it and you are left sole ruler of

  216. the thing. It's because we are helping

  217. ourselves in places God never authorized us to govern.

  218. Psalm 46 scripture says be still.

  219. Somebody say be still watch this.

  220. The scripture does not say pray harder.

  221. It does not say fast more. It does not say sing louder or

  222. strategize better. It says be still.

  223. This is going to bless us today. It says be still.

  224. No, go back to my slide. It said be still.

  225. Be still is a command. Be.

  226. Watch it, Be still and know that I am God.

  227. It didn't say no, I'm God. Then be still.

  228. It said be still. Then know.

  229. Some of you wondering why you lack intimacy with God?

  230. It's because you don't know Him, and you don't know Him because

  231. you ain't still. He is not a whispering or

  232. whispering a word of comfort or encouragement to soothe us.

  233. Be still is not a word of encouragement or a word of

  234. comfort or a word to soothe you. This is God asserting authority.

  235. Oh God is throwing. When God says be still, he is

  236. throwing his weight around. He is asserting his authority.

  237. He is saying that this watch this.

  238. Remember what we said, this is his year, not my year.

  239. So since it's his year, he said I need you to what?

  240. Be still. God's like this is my time and

  241. you can't be running all around on my time.

  242. Ain't got no time to chase you around.

  243. This is 2026 is my year. Be still God's like every time

  244. you in the way stuff get messed up.

  245. Be still. What does be still mean?

  246. I'm glad you asked. It means cease striving.

  247. It means drop your weapons. Oh, the weapons of our warfare

  248. are not carnal. We wrestle not against flesh and

  249. blood, right? It says drop your weapons.

  250. That's what be still. Watch this.

  251. Drop your weapons. In other words, how you are used

  252. to coping. Drop your weapons how you are

  253. used to fighting back. Drop your weapons how you are

  254. used to hustling to get by. Drop your weapons how you are

  255. used to getting back at people that hurt you.

  256. Drop your weapons. This may be the season that you

  257. can't work the five points to get $1,000,000 because that has

  258. become a weapon against God's plan.

  259. Drop your means and then it means stop contending for what

  260. God has already settled and conquered.

  261. Stop contending. Oh, I don't know if I'm gonna

  262. have time to get to it, but I'm so I'm gonna say it right now.

  263. There is some stuff be still means stop praying for it.

  264. Watch this. There's some people.

  265. Stop praying for it. Right, right.

  266. See you thought see here it is because you won't stop praying.

  267. Here it is. Some of you are praying from

  268. stress. You are praying because you

  269. actually don't believe. You are praying because you

  270. actually have doubts. So you're tossing up prayers

  271. like God, I don't know if you heard me, but no, no, no, no,

  272. like really get to the the why of why you keep on praying in a

  273. way and a posture like he didn't hear you before.

  274. So sometime we pray because we're stressed instead of

  275. believing because we're stressed.

  276. You are contending for a person that you have already fasted and

  277. prayed for. Watch this your prayers, the way

  278. you praying watch this. You got it.

  279. You got to align your prayers with the word.

  280. But you can't pray when somebody ain't working the word.

  281. If God says if you if you eat from this tree, you will be

  282. exposed to the knowledge of good and evil.

  283. Just say Eve was my sister and I'm like over here like Lord

  284. Jesus in the name of Jesus. She she eat from the tree and

  285. then I'm praying she don't get the knowledge of good and evil.

  286. Some of y'all praying for people who are living in sin and you're

  287. praying they don't get a harvest from they sin.

  288. So you're praying against the word, not the word.

  289. Do you know how hard that is to pray against something that God

  290. has already settled? The best thing I can pray for

  291. your rebellion is Lord grace them to make it out right.

  292. Don't, don't, don't punch me in my face.

  293. Then pray it don't hurt. We have a lot of faithless

  294. prayers and we're praying from a still less or a anxious soul.

  295. Be still means to disengage. Drop your weapons or sorry,

  296. disengage and cease your attempts to control the outcome.

  297. Cease your attempts to control the outcome.

  298. This has nothing to do with how what is going on.

  299. This has nothing to do with how what is going on is making you

  300. feel or what is going on and how it's making you feel.

  301. This has nothing to do with that.

  302. So I get it right. You continue to want to explain

  303. how you feel and God's like that's why I gave you a word for

  304. how you feel. My word overrides the feel.

  305. So are you going to focus on my word or the storm?

  306. Remember, he spoke to the see you.

  307. He told you to be still, but what you then said, well make

  308. the wind stop blowing. No, no, no, no.

  309. When God is speaking this, he didn't tell the wind to calm

  310. down, He told you to be still. Watch this.

  311. The wind may not ever change speed, but I can still

  312. experience calm if I be still. So instead of desiring the wind

  313. to shift its force, won't you stop the angst inside of you so

  314. that you can experience the wind differently, right?

  315. Be like a sail and use the wind for your advantage.

  316. If you posture yourself right, the wind can actually advance

  317. you into the promised land. The wind can actually accelerate

  318. you. Here we go, Here it is.

  319. You ready? We struggle to be still because

  320. #1 Trauma trained us to survive by control.

  321. Trauma trained us to survive by controlling.

  322. The moment you experience the wind, you start grabbing the

  323. handlebars, right? You, you, you ever, you ever,

  324. you ever in the passenger seat or even in the back seat.

  325. You can be in the trunk and somebody about to somebody

  326. driving about to get in the car accident and you automatically

  327. start, you reach for the steering wheel or you, you or,

  328. or have you ever have you ever, have you ever you, you in the

  329. passenger seat, but you feel like you can put your foot on

  330. the brakes. That's the scariest feeling,

  331. That's all. I don't like people driving me

  332. around because I I want to have control.

  333. Trauma trained us. We struggle to be still because

  334. trauma trained us. Trauma trained us.

  335. I could, I could just put a period on that.

  336. Trauma trained us. Trauma trained us.

  337. Grief trained us to survive by controlling #2 we struggle to be

  338. still because anxiety trains us to stay alert.

  339. You see this, Michael? The anxiety trained us to be

  340. alert. I'm so aware of the storm, less

  341. aware of God's presence in the storm.

  342. Anxiety taught you how to be alert.

  343. You, you, you. Do you know somebody and if you

  344. next to them do not look at them.

  345. Do you know somebody that always makes you aware of problems?

  346. Gossipers. You got that friend that always

  347. share you. You need this.

  348. Why the Drewski thing went viral?

  349. Because all the people shared it.

  350. Ain't it funny? Go look at how much how much

  351. darkness you share and how much light you share, right?

  352. We are so aware. We are so on pins and needle.

  353. We're alert and the Lord says get rid of the swivel on your

  354. head and focus on me #3 We struggle to be still because

  355. fear trained us to never stop moving, right?

  356. We play dodgeball in life, right?

  357. We never stop moving. Watch this.

  358. Why are you? Why do you think you're such an

  359. easy target? Because you be still.

  360. Do you know this? It's harder for the enemy to

  361. detect a steel person in the Kingdom flipping around.

  362. The more steel you are, the harder you are to detect in the

  363. heavens. The enemy loves movement.

  364. He knows anxiety. He knows.

  365. He knows these running thoughts. He knows a person that just

  366. can't be still. We struggle to be still because

  367. performance trained us to prove worth.

  368. Come on, come on. Somebody just tell you so.

  369. Be still. Be still.

  370. Be still. Somebody say be still right.

  371. Every time you yawn today after you yawn, be still, OK.

  372. If you're yawner in here, you're tired.

  373. That's fine. Just as you go, Michael, just

  374. say be still, OK. Be still.

  375. Somebody say be still. OK, We struggle to be still.

  376. Michael ain't alert now because the Saints ain't in the

  377. playoffs. Amen.

  378. Not Amen. Hallelujah.

  379. All right, all right. Chicago Bears in the playoffs,

  380. though. All right.

  381. As icebreaker is over. OK.

  382. We struggle to be still because performance trained us to prove

  383. worth watch. This and we struggle to be still

  384. because the hustle trained us to outrun trust.

  385. Oh, the hustle trained us to outrun trust.

  386. And sometime the worst thing that can happen is fast success

  387. because now you have a pattern that you going to try to rework

  388. because it worked before. Not knowing that although you

  389. can't, you reached your goal. You didn't develop trust for God

  390. because you left him behind. So you got to prioritize what's

  391. important. The season of learning to trust

  392. God or the season to get from God.

  393. Like I'd much rather as I get older, I understand the greatest

  394. value I can have is the characteristics of Jesus, the

  395. fruit of the Spirit and to learn how to trust God because more

  396. often than not, I need trust to be still.

  397. And the and when life get to life, and if you don't know how

  398. to be still, you're going to be on some pills somewhere, be pill

  399. instead of be still. Hey, man, I just, I couldn't

  400. help myself. Hey, man, that's the that's the

  401. creative in me. That's the creative in me.

  402. Listen, before we keep going, let's look at what the soul is.

  403. Some people just we lump it all together.

  404. This is soul, spirit by air. It's all the same, OK?

  405. The soul, the fesh in Hebrew, appetite, desire will, inner

  406. drive, survival, instinct. When we talk about our soul,

  407. it's our thinker, our filler, our chooser.

  408. It's where our appetite, our desires, our hunger is in the

  409. soul realm, we are a spirit, We possess a soul, we live in a

  410. body, we are tripart beings, we are spirit.

  411. We possess a soul and we live in a body, but we are spirit and we

  412. possess a soul. That's where our emotions are,

  413. That's where our thinking is. That's where we get jealous.

  414. That's where we covet. That's when he say renew your

  415. mind. It's to restore, renew, refresh,

  416. get back to the garden. As it pertains to my soul,

  417. appetite, desire, will, inner drive, survival, instinct.

  418. The soul is my thinker, my feeler, my chooser.

  419. Watch this. My soul is not merely sinful, it

  420. is just untrained. See, we're so sin conscious,

  421. Andrew, that we don't realize we're just really untrained.

  422. Watch this. Because we were trained before,

  423. we fail. So now we need the Holy Spirit

  424. to renew our minds and train us so we can get back to garden

  425. realities and garden behavior. The soul, Watch it.

  426. An ungoverned soul never rests. An ungoverned soul never rests.

  427. Psalm 23. Watch this.

  428. He makes me lie down in fresh, tender, green pastures.

  429. He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

  430. He refreshes and restores my soul, my, my, my life.

  431. He leads me in the paths of righteousness, uprightness, and

  432. right, standing with Him, not for my earning it, but for His

  433. name's sake. Watch this.

  434. His name is on the line as it pertains to you.

  435. So there comes a time where He takes control for His name's

  436. sake, not for you to impress people, but His word is on the

  437. line as it pertains to your life.

  438. So God steps in and says be still because my name is on the

  439. line and I got to do some stuff so people can know I am who I

  440. say I am. I'm healing you for my name's

  441. sake. I am advancing you for my name's

  442. sake. I am intervening for my name's

  443. sake. Yeah.

  444. Yeah, it is for his name's sake. It's not so you can be famous.

  445. It is for his name's sake. He wants to prosper you for his

  446. name's sake. Watch this.

  447. He makes, he leads. He restores.

  448. He makes, he leads, he restores. That's order intentionally.

  449. He makes, he leads. He restores.

  450. He makes, he leads, he restores. Ain't no restoring if he can't

  451. lead you. Ain't no leading if he can't

  452. make you. If he can't make you sit down,

  453. he can't lead you. So he comes in and he says be

  454. still. Why?

  455. So I can lead you. Why do I want to lead you?

  456. So I can restore you, but we wanted to work backwards.

  457. Lord restore me. He's like you trying to make me

  458. act out of order. So watch this some of y'all like

  459. restore my family. And he said OK be still.

  460. Restore my finances, Lord. OK.

  461. Be still. Restore my identity, Lord.

  462. OK. Be still.

  463. Restore my reputation, Lord. OK, Shut up.

  464. Be still. Give me strength, Lord.

  465. Be still, Lord. My marriage is falling apart,

  466. OK, I got you. Be still.

  467. Because watch this. Your trashy marriage ain't

  468. helping my namesake so I'm I'm all for restoring my children

  469. because you're my children and you got my name and you making

  470. me look bad. So I'm very ready to help you.

  471. But guess what you got to do? Be still Lord save my family but

  472. but but why you you showing your family following God means

  473. anxiety. They got anxiety without God.

  474. They got anxiety at a bad church.

  475. They got anxiety. So why should they follow you

  476. and you don't know how to be still.

  477. They got what you got without what you offering them

  478. Hallelujah. Tell your neighbor.

  479. I think you need to I think he talking to you.

  480. I think he talking to you for sure.

  481. He talking to you. Watch this.

  482. He makes, He leads, He restores. Come on, say it with me.

  483. He makes, He leads, He restores. Rest is not something the sheep

  484. decide. It is something the shepherd

  485. initiates. Hallelujah.

  486. And you wonder why the storm don't cease when you ready to be

  487. still. No, no, no, no, you don't

  488. decide. You don't get to decide when

  489. rest that no God initiates, right?

  490. He says, hey, it's the season 2026 be still.

  491. I'm ready to give you rest. I'm I'm ready to give you peace.

  492. I'm ready to transform some things in your life.

  493. But you going to need to be still.

  494. Rest is not something the sheep decide.

  495. It's something the shepherd initiates.

  496. Watch this. Still waters are not resort spas

  497. and vacation destinations. I need y'all to know this is

  498. real Bible talk right now. OK, this is real Bible talk.

  499. This is not still waters, right? You looking at this beautiful

  500. picture right here, you're like, Oh my God, I want to raise all I

  501. want to get all this money because I want to go.

  502. I want to go to Italy. I want to go to Greece.

  503. I want to go. And you see the Kardashians

  504. jumping off of boats and you see all these people and you like,

  505. wow, they must be really enjoying their lives.

  506. Really. You think they are.

  507. I think they are, but understand this.

  508. Still waters aren't resorts, spas, vacations or destinations.

  509. Watch this. This is so powerful.

  510. Still waters are waters with no threat.

  511. When the Bible talks about still waters in Hebrew, it means

  512. waters with no threat. He leads me.

  513. He is trying to lead you to a life.

  514. No matter the waves or the storm, it's no threat to you.

  515. When is life going to stop being a threat?

  516. When is that person rejecting you going to stop being a

  517. threat? It doesn't mean rejection won't

  518. hurt, but when rejection becomes a threat to your identity, you

  519. are not trusted in God. It just mean He's leading you to

  520. a place that there's no threat. The soul rests not because

  521. danger disappeared, but because authority has arrived and

  522. abides. I enter rest not because the

  523. threat or danger has disappeared, but because

  524. authority has taken its seat in my soul watch.

  525. This stillness feels unsafe to a nervous system that learns

  526. survival through motion. Oh, buddy, I'm tell.

  527. Let me just start with me. I have trouble not doing nothing

  528. right now. I'm not telling you stillness is

  529. not doing nothing. But I have.

  530. I like my soul, shall I say, wrestles on a day where I decide

  531. to be still. My soul is just like what we

  532. doing like get moving, you lazy you.

  533. No 4:00 AM, fool, get up at 4:00 AM.

  534. No, I'm not getting up at 4:00 AM.

  535. And it's just this wrestle. And before at the end of the

  536. day, you have lost all your nerves because you've been

  537. wrestling on the inside. You have not trained your soul

  538. to be still, right? Ask Andrew.

  539. How many people come to a spa do all this, Really.

  540. You relax while you're there. You relax because you have

  541. resources to relax, right? Some people got weed to relax.

  542. And then when it goes down, you got to smoke some more.

  543. You got to buy some more than you got to walk out the weed

  544. dispensary like this, like you Hollywood or something with your

  545. hat on. Because you, you go to church

  546. and you don't want nobody to know you.

  547. You'd be shopping for weed, right?

  548. So you already Hey man, OK, you get what I'm saying?

  549. So then people people will leave the spa and within 24 hours all

  550. the calm his space provided. They give it away because we

  551. think that peace and rest is a spa or it's in quiet or it's

  552. breath work. Those things should be

  553. supplementary to the church. It should not be the source to

  554. the believer. For those that don't follow

  555. Jesus, it's the source. But man, I might not be able to

  556. make it to the to the spa. I can't wait till I can go.

  557. Some of us can't afford to spy. I might not be able to wait to

  558. get to Andrew or to get to Pasadena or to get to my

  559. trainer. To have some peace, to have some

  560. rest in my soul. When last time some of y'all

  561. been on a like a vacation? Not a staycation, a vacation.

  562. You got up out of everything familiar.

  563. When's the last time, right Time, money.

  564. Some of y'all got kids and you think you going to get rest when

  565. they grow up? No, you actually going to be

  566. more stressed out. Watch this, he says.

  567. For God alone my soul waits in silence.

  568. For God alone. For God alone, for God alone is

  569. the only one I'm waiting for. For God alone my soul waits in

  570. silence. From Him comes my salvation,

  571. from Him comes my peace, from Him comes my prosperity, from

  572. Him comes my strength, from Him. So because it comes from Him, he

  573. is the only one that I surrender my soul to, to be at rest.

  574. Inner settling. Silence, right?

  575. This word Silence here means inner settling.

  576. The cessation of noise. This is going to be so good.

  577. It's going to bless a few of you.

  578. The cessation of noise you like. Well, cessation.

  579. What's cessation? Sensation.

  580. PT. You spelled that wrong.

  581. You mean sensation? No cessation.

  582. I know what I'm talking about. Cessation.

  583. Everybody say cessation. Watch this.

  584. This means voluntary stopping under authority.

  585. Oh God's going to initiate. He ain't going make you.

  586. This is you making a choice to stop under authority.

  587. Watch, Watch this. This cessation means an

  588. intentional end. No, Watch this this way, he says

  589. stop wavering. No, no, I am going to make a

  590. decision today. It this has to end.

  591. I'm not going to wait. Well when they get older or when

  592. the sun come out or or or when they stop leaving me alone or if

  593. they stop calling me. I don't need you to stop calling

  594. me to have peace. If you don't stop calling me,

  595. I'll change my number if I got to but I am not going to lend

  596. you my soul until you ready to give it back.

  597. Oh I can't wait till school is over.

  598. These terms stress me out. Test week is so stressful

  599. because you let it be stressful. Well this is exam week, most

  600. stressful day of the year because you make it that way and

  601. then you pass and then you pass and you like I got my peace

  602. back. You know you didn't have peace

  603. in the first place. What's this cessation?

  604. It's intentional. And I don't stop because

  605. something failed. I stopped because it is no

  606. longer required to keep moving in it.

  607. Watch this. You can have your strength on 10

  608. like you can have like, like this is the cool thing.

  609. God will then ask you to see something when you have all the

  610. resources to keep going. He'll ask you to leave something

  611. while it's at its peak in good, right.

  612. This is like we're not going to do Michael Jordan.

  613. We're not going. We're not we're not going to

  614. come back and and come inside this.

  615. That's a bad analogy. Some of y'all don't know who

  616. Michael Jordan is. And if you don't, that's that's

  617. a shame. That's a shame.

  618. And some of y'all got Jordans on it.

  619. Didn't even know it was Michael Jordan.

  620. He thought it was. No, no.

  621. Listen guys, this is what I'm learning.

  622. Can I help somebody? Don't let it end on you.

  623. Don't let the thing make you retire.

  624. Retire after you want a ring. Determine when something's done

  625. before it expires. Determine when a relationship

  626. it's time to evolve or kick rocks versus it turning sour.

  627. Now somebody that used to be a friend becomes an enemy because

  628. you didn't realize it was time to transition at AT bare minimum

  629. to shift your relationship into a different context.

  630. So in one season we were this. In another season, we might have

  631. to be this. And some of us have trouble with

  632. transitions because we not ready to let it go.

  633. See, I was never the dude. I was never the dude that would

  634. break up with a girl. Now I didn't have a lot of

  635. girlfriends. I was I was a good dude.

  636. I'm I'm serious. What y'all talking about?

  637. I heard the little Yeah, right. TT I'm glad you think I'm worthy

  638. of a lot of women. OK, whatever.

  639. Get out of here. He's like, yeah, right.

  640. P TS lying. He's from Oakland.

  641. He's a tall black man. He's has fashion.

  642. Stop judging me. But I would never ever.

  643. I just couldn't do it because I was raised by women.

  644. I'll talk about this. And yeah, anyway, I was raised

  645. by women. So I I just never did it.

  646. I was like, if I'm going to break up with someone, when I

  647. break up with them, it's over. Ain't no, ain't no back and

  648. forth. Ain't no make up to break it

  649. ain't no and I don't care if the relationship was trash.

  650. I'm like, I'm going to keep trying.

  651. I'm going to let her break up with me.

  652. Then I'll be good. See what I'm saying?

  653. Like there's things in your life that aren't good for you and

  654. you're waiting for it to leave your life or somebody to walk

  655. out of your life, or you're waiting for this thing that you

  656. need to say. Enough is enough, but you should

  657. never get to the point where you're leaving something out of

  658. anger or trauma. You should be paying attention

  659. enough that you see when seasons change and you initiate

  660. transition. But I remember one day I'm back

  661. and forth and I and I was just like, no, you're not.

  662. I had a dream that the girl was, you know, fooling with somebody

  663. and she thought she was going to play me.

  664. And then she. Yeah.

  665. And I asked her and she couldn't lie to me.

  666. And I'm like, man, we went to college together.

  667. Now. I was AI was a professional

  668. baseball pitcher. And I had a.

  669. If I have some in my hand when I'm mad, it's not good.

  670. Now I've grown, I've grown, I've grown, but there's times I had

  671. to till I grew, I had to drop it.

  672. If I got mad and I had some in my head, I had to drop it.

  673. And I just remember the girl, she told me and I'm like, watch

  674. this because I tried and tried and tried and tried hoping in

  675. you while I was hoping in you, you was moving on.

  676. So I'm more angry that I stuck around and man, I walked away.

  677. I was just so mad. But I knew it was over.

  678. Had a tennis ball in my hand and I threw a strike.

  679. I threw, I threw, I threw it. I threw that tennis ball hit her

  680. right on her forehead. It bounced up, hit the wall and

  681. rolled into a classroom. It was right in front of a

  682. classroom and I walked away and we haven't talked ever since.

  683. Watch this. But I waited till it failed.

  684. I didn't listen to my Mama. I didn't listen to my friends.

  685. The end came because it failed, not because I listened to wisdom

  686. and made a decision to say this is no longer going to benefit

  687. me. Well, no, I promise I'll change.

  688. You need to change, but you're going to change without me

  689. around. Stop being manipulated into

  690. staying longer than you supposed to stay because someone has

  691. potential. Cessation is the soul coming to

  692. rest. This is not inactivity, this is

  693. alignment. Sensation is stopping self

  694. initiated actions, ending unauthorized effort and laying

  695. down labor because authority has taken over.

  696. Watch this God, man, I, I, I, I've been, I've been tracking

  697. God a little bit and he will help you in something.

  698. He's not making the phone call for you, but he'll prepare a

  699. heart for you to say it's over or you'd be surprised the person

  700. you're scared to say it's over already thinking it's over, but

  701. they not brave enough to say it's over.

  702. God will orchestrate a situation and if you're not paying

  703. attention, that was your perfect time to transition.

  704. He gave you a reason, you know, sometime when you don't want to

  705. go to work and all of a sudden the weather is bad and you like

  706. like it's snowing, but they ain't called a snow day yet.

  707. But you like they, they haven't, they haven't plowed my street

  708. yet. So I'm not going to be able to

  709. go to work today. But you all you see, you watch

  710. this. You took advantage of an

  711. opportunity to be released without costs.

  712. And God always makes it a way. Makes a way.

  713. But are you paying attention? Watch this restless, somebody

  714. say. Restless is when the soul does

  715. not learn stillness. When the soul does not learn

  716. stillness, it will seek relief through control.

  717. So you control circumstances, right?

  718. You can practice you got kids. You can practice stillness

  719. today. Let your baby cry for a little

  720. bit and keep enjoying yourself. Now if they in danger, don't let

  721. them cry. Help them out.

  722. See see watch this. That threatens some parents, but

  723. some of y'all have let your kids steal your peace.

  724. Watch this, watch this, watch this.

  725. Let them throw a tantrum. Watch this.

  726. Stop trying to calm your kids down because they're throwing a

  727. fit at your nose. Yeah.

  728. Hey, man, you see how you can feel it in a room?

  729. Some parents are just like, no, my baby's crying.

  730. OK. Your soul is too.

  731. So here it is. So we love busy.

  732. Some of you might not want to admit it, but you love busy.

  733. We love to feel productive. Like being busy means

  734. productive. No busy means busy.

  735. Busy looks like that. Oh, I learned something in

  736. parenting. It's OK to let the laundry sit

  737. for a day or two if it means I need rest.

  738. Yeah, yeah, it's OK to let laundry sit and the baby crawl

  739. instead of doing laundry with the baby on my hip with the

  740. phone like this. Yeah, watch.

  741. Hey, here's God. He's initiating rest because

  742. some of y'all are trying to even parent in ways God never gave

  743. you permission to parent. Yeah, take it.

  744. Take some lessons from somebody who's parented for a little bit.

  745. Busy is not productivity, it's self protection.

  746. What are you running from by staying busy?

  747. Some of you watch this. I love cleaning.

  748. You know, you to, to to not feel something.

  749. You mean you will wash that sink for three hours?

  750. You did and then got the nerves to be mad at somebody else.

  751. They don't see mold like you see it how you find that mold and

  752. then like the PJB like did you see that mold?

  753. I'm like, no, it was in the shower.

  754. I'm tall though that she was in. It was in the corner right

  755. there. I don't I don't get in the

  756. shower and be looking around. You ain't going to catch me

  757. cleaning in the shower. Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah.

  758. I'm in the shower to clean me. Not the Amen.

  759. Amen. Busy is not productive, it's

  760. self protective. I'm just saying it's OK.

  761. We should all be clean. We should all want to take

  762. walks. We should all but but but make

  763. sure you are not using a blessing as an escape.

  764. A chore should be no my house is dirty, I just need to clean up

  765. and I'm going to have peace in the chaos.

  766. But some of you clean up man. And if you married or got

  767. family, everybody got to pay when you clean up.

  768. Yeah, I'm hitting the nerve today.

  769. You cleaning up and you serious? You just somebody walk on around

  770. your little dust pile. You.

  771. First of all, nobody asks you to clean right now.

  772. And then you want to look, you ain't going to help me.

  773. Well, I didn't. We didn't schedule clean up

  774. time. The game is on right now, right?

  775. So watch this, you're not doing it with joy, you're actually

  776. cleaning with resentment. So won't you talk about who you

  777. mad at because the house is dirty and then clean up with joy

  778. because it's a blessing you got something to clean up.

  779. Hallelujah we helping people today.

  780. Watch this when rest is not learned through trust.

  781. It will be learned another way. Somebody say control, how are we

  782. going to land this plane? A restless soul.

  783. And this is where we're going to pick up in the second

  784. experience. But I want to get it to you real

  785. quick. A restless soul.

  786. We have one of the most misunderstood verses in the

  787. Bible, and it's one of the most popular verses in the Bible.

  788. I'm going to start it and then we're going to pick it up in the

  789. next experience, one of the most misunderstood stories Jesus ever

  790. told. Then he said a certain man had

  791. two sons. The younger of them

  792. inappropriately said to his father, Father, give me the

  793. share of the property that falls to me.

  794. So he divided the state between them.

  795. Watch this. He asked for it.

  796. His father said, here you go. It was out of time.

  797. But his father said, here you go.

  798. I ain't going to argue with you. A few days later, the younger

  799. son gathered together everything he got, everything he got his

  800. inheritance, and he got everything that he had and

  801. traveled to a distant country. And there he wasted his fortune

  802. in reckless and immoral living. Oh, this is going to bless you.

  803. Watch this. A man had two sons #1 We see

  804. covenant. Father, give me the share #2 we

  805. see entitlement. Oh, see yourself in this.

  806. OK. When we pray, we pray with

  807. entitlement. Why this ain't showing up yet?

  808. God, why you put me in this situation?

  809. He like that, I'll put you in this situation.

  810. He gathered everything and went to a distant country.

  811. Watch this. He gathered everything.

  812. Here it is control. We see covenant, entitlement and

  813. control. Watch this.

  814. Is this really rebellion or immorality?

  815. Which one do you think this? The way we preached it, we

  816. preach it either him coming home and we preach about God's grace

  817. and we preach about the covenant and we preach about rebellion.

  818. And we love to tell this, this, this story to our children.

  819. And we got prodigal sons and daughters and we're believing

  820. for them to come home because they're rebellious and they're

  821. immoral. Watch it.

  822. Before he rebelled, his soul was ungoverned.

  823. He got to the place of rebellion because he lived with an

  824. ungoverned soul. Watch it.

  825. Here's the pattern. Inheritance without covering, he

  826. got it. Resources without relationship,

  827. he got it. And then there was movement

  828. without permission. Watch this.

  829. The father did not resist his restless desires.

  830. The father did not control him by holding on to what he was

  831. asking for. Watch this.

  832. And some of you call it a blessing because God released it

  833. to you. Watch this.

  834. He didn't give it to you. He released it to you because

  835. you wanted it so bad. So he's like, since you not

  836. going to let me teach you the lesson, I'm going to let it

  837. teach you the lesson. Oh, this is going to bless some

  838. people today. The promise was more important

  839. to him than the present. The adventure was more important

  840. than the advantage of waiting. He could not wait for the

  841. appointed time. Because restlessness always

  842. masquerades as freedom. Restlessness always masquerades

  843. as freedom, and then we call it blessing.

  844. I'm restless to get to my dreams, so I'll take a

  845. counterfeit before I get there. And then now I got it.

  846. I'm like, I'm free. I got what?

  847. Watch this. I got what I wanted, watch this.

  848. He did not leave angry y'all. He did not leave broken.

  849. He left authorized in his own mind.

  850. He prayed about it, He asked for it, but he authorized himself

  851. watch this. He asked for something he wasn't

  852. going to take no for it. Some of y'all praying to God

  853. knowing even if he says no, you're not going to take it.

  854. You almost have courtesy prayers.

  855. Lord, I know I got to pray to you, so let me just let you know

  856. what I'm doing, but I'm a format as a question.

  857. Can I help you? Our soul is addicted to motion.

  858. What's next? Where it's at, Where he at?

  859. How much more, more and more more is addicted to motion.

  860. Watch this. When authority is resisted, God

  861. will sometimes take it off this slide.

  862. Take it off this slide because we have really fast readers.

  863. I need y'all to really get this next statement.

  864. I need y'all to get this. If you don't get nothing else

  865. today, before you go, please get this.

  866. When authority is resisted, God will sometimes remove the very

  867. things that made running possible.

  868. Not to punish us, but to make stillness unavoidable, I says.

  869. When authority is resisted, God will sometimes remove the very

  870. things that made running possible.

  871. It's not to punish you, but it is to make stillness

  872. unavoidable. Some of you are here today.

  873. You are in this very season, and I'm about to explain to you

  874. really quickly what this mean. Watch this.

  875. You go on into Luke 15. It says now when you don't even

  876. have to play right now you'll know when to play.

  877. Now when he had spent everything, now the money gone,

  878. God permit a severe famine. See, watch this.

  879. You saw the inheritance. You didn't see the famine that

  880. was going to eat your inheritance.

  881. See, sometime when God is withholding, it's because He

  882. sees stuff that you don't see. A severe famine occurred in that

  883. country, and He began to do without and be in need.

  884. Oh, that person you really wanted to be with.

  885. Watch this. What they fed you in the

  886. beginning, they no longer satisfy you.

  887. Watch out. And you've been praying God fix

  888. this and he's like no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

  889. Now you're eating the fruit of your desire because you didn't

  890. want to wait like I asked you to.

  891. So now I tried to give you stillness 3 years ago, but you

  892. insisted. So I let this lead you to

  893. stillness because it no longer feeds you no more.

  894. The excitement has replenished, the joy has to play.

  895. Watch this there. The attraction for them has the

  896. plenished. They don't talk sweet to you

  897. like they used to no more. And God like I knew this day was

  898. going to come. But by this time now, if you

  899. waited on me, they would be who you I wanted them to be, or you

  900. would be where you wanted to be. Watch it.

  901. So he went and forced himself on one of the citizens of that

  902. country who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.

  903. And he would have gladly eaten the pods that the pigs were

  904. eating. Watch this.

  905. But what he was eating in that season did not satisfy his

  906. hunger. Some of y'all here you got what

  907. you thought you wanted, but you are not satisfied.

  908. The blessing of the Lord makes rich adds no sorrow.

  909. But you got what you want, got the house you want.

  910. You got the man you want. You got the the the city you

  911. want you you some of y'all even thinking about man.

  912. I'm a move because they got more opportunities out there.

  913. OK. And God's like you can do what

  914. you want to do. No one was giving anything to

  915. him. I've been in that season where I

  916. know they got it, but God has said Nope, don't give it to him.

  917. I have had to make some very hard decisions when people have

  918. come to me in need. But I knew God showed me they

  919. were where they were because of rebellion.

  920. And God said if you bless them in this moment, the lesson that

  921. I am trying to teach them right this point right here, I am

  922. trying to lead them to stillness.

  923. And so now all help runs out. But when he finally came to

  924. himself, he came to a senses, he said I am dying here of hunger

  925. and watch what he says. He said I am dying here of

  926. hunger. But he says, how many of my

  927. father's hired men have more than enough food?

  928. I decided to go take this over here.

  929. And these people that decided to be still, look at how they're

  930. prospering. Watch this.

  931. I may have more than them, I don't have the joy they have, I

  932. may have more than them, I may even be having more fun than

  933. them, but look how satisfied they are.

  934. Next experience will jump in. And he came to himself, and that

  935. mean he came into himself. Watch this because stillness led

  936. him to revelation, not movement. God is not trying to keep you

  937. still because he is trying to keep something from you.

  938. He's trying to keep you still so he can get something to you.

  939. If you believe that, lift your hands right where you are and

  940. just say peace be still. Worship team, say peace be

  941. still, not worship team. You can come up but everyone say

  942. peace be still, peace be still. As we sing this worship song and

  943. respond to the Word, I challenge you to imagine yourself and make

  944. a decision to lay your burdens down.

  945. Man, it was it was stuff you could stand to your feet.

  946. It was stuff that I was thinking about over the last during this

  947. fast. And it's stuff that I'm paying

  948. for monthly that I was like, sometimes that thing you wanted

  949. a while ago that you thought was so cool and now you're paying

  950. for it. You ever thought about selling

  951. it or giving it back or releasing it to somebody else?

  952. Right. Increase is not all about

  953. income. Sometimes increase is about

  954. release and God is challenging some of us in here today that

  955. you have some stuff that you've been holding that he's like, I

  956. didn't make you responsible for that.

  957. You're just codependent. I didn't ask you to rent that.

  958. I didn't ask you to buy that. I didn't ask you to go there.

  959. Release it. Or are you going to let that

  960. thing become the thing that forces you to be still?

  961. Lift your hands right where you are.

  962. I speak over you and I speak directly to your soul today, by

  963. the authority of Jesus Christ, by the blood of Jesus, be still.

  964. Be still. Be still child of God.

  965. Release it to him. Be still.

  966. Be still. He's still on the throne.

  967. Be still. Tell your soul.

  968. Be still. In a world full of chaos and

  969. movement, Be still. Genesis 1 showed this perfect

  970. picture of chaos in the world and darkness, and God was just

  971. still, and he spoke and there was light.

  972. In this first month of the year, make a decision that the battle

  973. was the Lord's, not yours. Thank you so much for tuning
