Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Love Quest International
-
Church podcast, where we seek to love all nations, equip the
-
church, mobilize the equipped, and serve all.
-
We're super glad you're joining us from whenever and wherever
-
you're at in the world. Welcome to the family to get
-
your Bibles ready, get some water, get some coffee, maybe
-
some tea, and get ready to receive.
-
Let's get into it. Though the wind blows and the
-
waves crash, your remnant will remain rooted, growing strong as
-
oaks of righteousness. Distinguished, anointed.
-
Built for such a time as this. Yeah.
-
It's OK for somebody to say I'm built for such a time as this.
-
Lord, I thank you that you are equipping families.
-
Not not merely marriages, but you're equipping family, sons
-
and daughters. Yeah.
-
To be interruptions in the bloodline, to identify the
-
tricks of the enemy that has been plaguing bloodlines for
-
centuries. But today we say it comes to an
-
end. I declare over you.
-
You are the new beginning in your bloodline.
-
You're you're not just an interruption, but you're doing.
-
God is doing a new thing in you and through you.
-
Lord, we thank you for healing from your Word and Father, as
-
you transform us through the renewing of our minds, we will
-
give you the glory with our lives.
-
We thank you for it in Jesus. Mighty, mighty, mighty, mighty,
-
mighty, mighty name. Amen.
-
Amen. Sound like a few people was
-
ready to fight this morning. It's never too early to have a
-
good fight. Yeah, I love it.
-
You know, we get up some. Some people get up really early
-
to go to work every day and I don't know how you get up.
-
How do do anybody get up without trying to like get themselves
-
up? Like anybody got a routine to
-
get themselves up like coffee or you just want to stay sleepy all
-
day? So you, you OK, Do I do I have a
-
few people that like take a cold shower or a cold plunge or
-
something or or like, OK any, any Christians pray when you
-
first wake up? OK, A few of us say, man, that's
-
fine. That's fine.
-
Like do you listen to music when you wake up?
-
Wow, you guys are boring. Like what is going on here?
-
Like what are we doing? So you don't like get ready and
-
watch this. You do not get ready to go into
-
the world armed. You have something in you that
-
the world don't have in it and you don't sharpen your sword
-
before you wake up. I mean like when you when you
-
get up, you don't like do whatever it takes to make sure
-
when I step into my workplace, everything changes.
-
Not because I'm super, but he, he that is within me is greater
-
than he that is in the world. You do know you got to wake up
-
and stir yourself up like God this, don't you know what I'm
-
saying? Like you to be lit, You got to
-
stir it up. OK, Let me, let me, let me reach
-
some of y'all where I know you've been.
-
And if you haven't been here, I'm I'm done today.
-
Anybody ever went out at night for a good time?
-
I understand where I'm at. I understand.
-
OK, Help me. Jesus.
-
Amen. Do you get, do you do anything
-
to get yourself ready to go out to dinner or to the club or
-
something? Like do you stir yourself up?
-
Do you turn like when you get ready to go out on a date or go
-
out to dinner? Do you like turn on music and
-
why you doing your like like the ladies that do do makeup?
-
Like do you listen to music? Because that's a long time to
-
just be staring at yourself. What?
-
Right. Turn on some music and like, oh,
-
OK, OK, we going. Yeah, No, no, no.
-
OK. This is, this is what, this is
-
what praise and worship is. You are stirring yourself up.
-
Now. There's layers to it, right?
-
The more mature you are, you stir yourself up on the way to
-
church. So when watch this, so when you
-
come into the building, you bring a different atmosphere
-
with you. You, you step in ready to
-
contribute. And so that's what we do is
-
it's, it's early, it's really early and it's really cold.
-
That's why this morning I was, I was so tired.
-
I went to bed, I don't know, 4:30.
-
It's been a long weekend and it's been a very fruitful
-
weekend. And I remember going to bed
-
around 4, I don't know, three, what time we like 330.
-
And I normally I got to get up at 5:00, but I was like, it was
-
so you know, when it's so late, you like, I got to get up early
-
and do something. So I might as well do it now.
-
So I was trying to study. I had one eye.
-
I don't know what kind of message y'all going to get today
-
because I had one eye open, but but I was trying to.
-
I went to bed 330 or whatever or something like that and got up,
-
had to get up 6630 whatever time it was and nice shower and then
-
cold plunge. I'm like I got to help myself
-
get up. Look at your neighbors, say you
-
got to learn to help yourself. Look at somebody else, say your
-
soul needs help. Now really quickly before I get
-
into today's message, we started a Series A few weeks ago called
-
What Family Matters. And then a nice little plug
-
tonight will be Marriage Matters.
-
And so I'm excited for our marriages that we are going to
-
be pouring into. Come on, give it up for our
-
marriages. And so the first one we kicked
-
off was phenomenal. Those that are married, those
-
that are dating and considering marriage, those that are
-
engaged, this is for you singles.
-
I promise we're going to do something for you now.
-
Singles are serving the married couples.
-
No one married is serving. All the singles are serving.
-
And the singles crushed it last time.
-
Thank you, thank you, thank you. And I, I, I hate that label like
-
singles is a label like male and female singles and date is like
-
no, no, no, no, like no, no, no, like I think singles is, is a
-
powerful thing. OK, but culture makes you feel
-
like you're missing out on life if you're not sleeping, you
-
know, doing stuff. But so I want to see you tonight
-
if you are. But if you playing around in
-
your relationship, tonight's not for you.
-
Like no, we're not playing around.
-
OK. This is for people who really
-
take Covenant seriously and want to grow in that.
-
But a couple Wednesdays ago, I started off with kind of my
-
little personal formula to help me guide me and I thought it was
-
good to share with you. And there's just three 3-3
-
pieces of it's, it's a framework as we speak that we want to work
-
in #1 anybody remember? Yeah, don't look at the.
-
It might come on the screen, it might not.
-
Do anybody remember #2 and #3 that's what I'm talking about.
-
Expose is to. Expose is to bring into the
-
light what has been influencing in the dark.
-
After this week I'm no longer going to do this.
-
You should have it by now. If not go listen to message.
-
But I I do want people to be able to have some framework to
-
work in. I realise where I'm at and, and
-
I know where I'm from, man, you can preach and impart and it's
-
not always good because sometimes people just take what
-
you say and they just get emotional, whatever.
-
But there's a there, there are certain places in the world
-
that's more receptive to the word and they just trust God.
-
It doesn't mean they're foolish or ignorant.
-
We do encourage people to go read the word for yourself, Go
-
Fact Check whatever you want to do.
-
But but but there there there has to come a time where you can
-
walk in the service and actually receive and respond, not be so
-
intellectual with the word because the word is spirit.
-
But what I do understand is we're we're in a region and in a
-
place that that not it's not your fault.
-
It watch this. You were born into it.
-
You were born into a place that is over systematic.
-
You don't need that many seasons to get a license.
-
In one sense, there are amazing systems in this country, in this
-
province that the world can benefit from.
-
But some stuff is over systems, right?
-
Where I'm from, you, you, you take the test.
-
If you're too young, you get a permit.
-
But then when you turn a certain age, you pass the test, you got
-
your license. We don't need the a, you know,
-
the ABCDEFG, all of that. OK.
-
And and with that you train up a people, right?
-
Even in immigration, it's it's, it's a very thorough job in, in
-
which on some aspects is very good because you get some, you
-
get smart people come into this country, right, which is good
-
and seems safe. But you have to be careful how
-
you're being trained because when you're trying to approach
-
God with the same intellectualism that is required
-
for you to even be accepted in this country or to prove
-
yourself as immigrants or refugees or whatever the case
-
may be. You approach God with just head.
-
And some of y'all walk out of here without revelation because
-
I didn't break it down for you. In a way you understand it, not
-
understanding that the Word is Spirit and it can be imparted to
-
you if you catch what God is trying to say in your spirit and
-
then you carry it home and then you sit with it later or Monday
-
or Tuesday and you become a Berean.
-
He will break it down and bring understanding, but some of you
-
can't receive unless you understand.
-
Show me where that's at in the Bible, where God worked that
-
way. Abraham, leave, you're going to
-
go somewhere where I'll tell you about it later.
-
Just go, pack your family up. Go.
-
But God and God brought revelation as he went.
-
So we want to expose, to bring light to what's been
-
influencing. Watch this.
-
I find that some people in here, you are so intelligent and you
-
so stressed out. How's that working for you?
-
You so smart, so depressed, you so careful.
-
You read well, you read fast. You know so much, you're so
-
anxious. How's your intelligence helping
-
your peace? If peace was intelligence, the
-
more people would have it. But peace is a presence, and
-
it's governed by a revelation and a covenant.
-
And some of us watch this. I'm going to say it to you and
-
let it hit it wherever it hits. You've been stressed out too
-
long. Watch this stressed out.
-
I'm not saying you have some good days but but your peace
-
goes like this. I'm preaching already to some
-
people. I don't know about you, but I
-
come to church to hear this stuff.
-
God talk to me, come down my Rd. expose my my stressed outness,
-
my control issues control control it don't go my way.
-
Somebody don't call back. My piece is out the window or
-
I'm constantly trying to hold on to it.
-
That's not peace. If you constantly trying to hold
-
on to it. You trying to hold on for hold
-
on to something that's been given to you for free.
-
Amen. Somebody say the enemy can't
-
take my peace. All right, those that's been
-
here, you know it. If you want to know it's
-
exposed, it's equipped, it's excite.
-
Want to move on? Today's message, Part 3 for me
-
in, in, in Family matters is interrupting the ripple.
-
Last week we understood that there is a ripple effect that
-
happens and we expose some patterns.
-
Last week's message, Anybody remember what the title was?
-
Dang, it ain't my fault. What's this?
-
I'm not going to park there. But boy, did God give you a word
-
for you, For you. He preached it to me.
-
It ain't my fault. Now, if you are going to
-
interrupt stuff in your bloodline, you can't forget the
-
root. You can't forget what he
-
equipped you with last week, right?
-
And This is why sometime I am burdened to do review, review,
-
review, review. Why?
-
Because we forget, we forget, we forget and so we can't move on.
-
But then I have to actually be free from doing that because you
-
have to be responsible as the student and the receiver, and I
-
have to be responsible as the deliverer of this word.
-
And so today is interrupting the ripple.
-
We looked at David. We looked at his sons, and we
-
looked at no, there's a lot of patterns that aren't your fault.
-
You inherited them. But what we walked away
-
understanding is it might not be your fault, but now it is your
-
responsibility. What you refuse to confront, God
-
will allow to fracture. We heard this word fracture last
-
week. Fracture is not destruction but
-
fracture. A fracture can be a inlet for
-
germs and toxicity to enter and before you know it watch this.
-
Some of you have unbroken patterns which produced
-
fractures and now you got germs. Now you have watched this
-
keyword you have been infected. Some people watch this.
-
Another word for infected is like offense, easily offended or
-
easily infected. Not not just affected, infected
-
because you have open wounds that we are sometimes ignorant
-
of. Yes.
-
Not your fault you inherited family patterns, but now you've
-
grown. It is your responsibility to
-
change it here it is, or pass it on to the next generation.
-
Watch this. You don't need kids to pass
-
patterns on to the next generation.
-
You got to pass it on to somebody.
-
Somebody say you got to pass it on.
-
It's ain't my fault. You did not choose your last
-
name. You did not design your
-
childhood. You did not script your
-
exposures. It may not be my fault, but it
-
is my what watch. This responsibility is where
-
interruption begins. Come on, write it down.
-
Responsibility is where interruption begins.
-
If you don't take responsibility, you can't start
-
interrupting. Watch this, as long as your
-
finger is like that, you stuck because the person you pointing
-
at can't change the pattern. Hallelujah, Help me.
-
Jesus, man, I took response. Somebody asked me a question
-
last night about being a father when I didn't have a father.
-
And how did I learn that blueprint?
-
And I'm like, man, I had to. I couldn't become the father
-
that I didn't have until I changed the patterns that I
-
inherited from an absent father. Do you know you can you can
-
inherit patterns from absence. I learned what it was like to
-
not have a man around. Do you know what patterns those
-
create? It's not just what's present.
-
It's what you supposed to have that you don't have.
-
What you refuse to confront. You have to get this what you
-
confuse, what you refuse to confront, God will allow to
-
fracture. Here's a simple we we spoke
-
about the prodigal son. He did not confront greed.
-
He did not confront Mammon. He did not confront the orphan
-
spirit. So God allowed him to fracture.
-
And then he came to himself. What did he do?
-
Take responsibility. Watch this Ezekiel 18.
-
The parents ate green apples. The children got the stomach
-
ache. Anybody ever say Mama I'm mad at
-
you or that daddy I'm mad at you or some of y'all in here that
-
told your parents you hate them or if you didn't say it, you
-
thought it? Watch this.
-
The parents ate green apples. The children got the stomach
-
ache. Verse 4 says the one who sins is
-
the one who will die. The one who sins is the one who
-
will die. Somebody say that with me, the
-
one who sins is the one who will die.
-
So although watch this, the parent ate the green apple.
-
This is in scripture. The parents drank, the drank,
-
the parents committed adultery. The parents sold drugs.
-
The parents did something that opened mental illness into the
-
bloodline. The parents ate green.
-
The parents performed domestic violence.
-
The parents was abusive. The parents now how many?
-
Every generations, you can go back.
-
I don't know it's your bloodline, but the parents ate
-
the green apples. The children got the stomach
-
ache. Can I say that there's some
-
things that that adults did before I was even born, But when
-
I was born, I got the belly ache, right?
-
You, you, you, you, you have babies born addicts because
-
their parents do drugs while they're in the womb.
-
How fair is that, that I come out addicted because you didn't
-
break the pattern? That's the same way it works.
-
So the environment and the culture you was raised in,
-
somebody around here got a bellyache.
-
Anybody can that is not it has some bellyaches from stuff
-
you've inherited that your Mama did, that your daddy did, that
-
your auntie did, that your cousins did or the babysitter
-
you was left with did, right? Because because it was when I
-
grew up, it was a village that raised a child.
-
Somebody say the village. So it's not just your parents,
-
but it's also your community. Let's go deeper because Canada
-
represents the got the whole world here.
-
Some of y'all may have been born in Canada, but you got some
-
tribal patterns. Some of you have have
-
Christianity, but in the way your hair in your, your
-
heritage, your culture did it. You have you have some African
-
patterns, you have some Asian patterns, you have some Italian
-
patterns and we walk around and you'd be like, oh, I'm Italian.
-
We crazy. Oh, why watch this?
-
I hate when people that ain't of my ethnicity say this because
-
yeah, some ways it's true, but it works for everybody.
-
We own black people time. I hate when we say it.
-
It's absolutely ignorant because it's like black people are only
-
people late. That's so stupid.
-
But watch this. We inherited that language and
-
you and I inherit stereotypes. And every time you speak a
-
stereotype, you reinforce it in the mind.
-
So there's some people you walking in this earth and you
-
see a certain people rather it's their skin, rather it's some
-
somebody, somebody was here. She's so sweet.
-
I understood little grandma. Little grandma told her grandson
-
and he's he's a serving heritage church.
-
This grandma came and it was so cute later sent me a picture
-
they was watching the sermon again and and he's like I'm
-
sitting here with grandma re watching the sermon.
-
She told me she didn't even know you was the pastor when you got
-
up until you start preaching. So I much rather her think I'm a
-
thug, but when I open my mouth, be like he an anointed thug.
-
He anointed thug. I'll be anointed thug all day.
-
And and she wasn't she she wasn't, but she she I, I think I
-
that day I just wasn't feeling it.
-
I I wore I think I wore a tuk or a beanie.
-
I'll call beanie. I wore a beanie and I I forget
-
what I was wearing, but I didn't look like a pastor anytime.
-
Elder John, come here real quick.
-
I don't know where you're going, but that's OK.
-
Come here real quick. Elder Brett, come here real
-
quick. I need you guys to walk up here
-
real quick. Watch this, Watch this, watch
-
this, this crazy. And I want you to be honest to
-
yourself, OK? You see me, Elder John and Elder
-
Brett walking in the mall? I want you to just repeat for
-
you. You don't even say nothing.
-
I want you to just think real quick.
-
OK? Where?
-
Where are you putting us? Hold on, hold on.
-
Right. Watch this.
-
Some of y'all gonna think I'm in trouble somewhere, especially if
-
I'm walking between them. He's like, I'm sorry brother.
-
Listen, watch this. So we often tease sometime
-
because we'll go somewhere, we'll go to a meeting, a
-
leadership meeting or something and automatically you gonna
-
think one of them, the pastor at best, I'm the youth pastor.
-
That's crazy. Watch this, watch this.
-
And and you accept that thinking.
-
Watch this. It don't go nowhere.
-
It just pops up when convenient. But you don't know how that
-
mindset robs you from going deeper in relationships.
-
You're called to watch this. There are people since I've been
-
pastoring watch this. You will not admit it because
-
you can't tap into it because you also think racism or you
-
think prejudice looks a certain way.
-
Let me tell you racism is not calling somebody the N word,
-
just like not being racist is. You got a friend of color.
-
OK, watch this. It is easy for people to walk
-
out of here and not connect because of they've never been
-
LED or told what to do or held accountable by a person of
-
color. Oh, we don't want to talk about
-
that, right? Because we, there's a lot of
-
churches, we can't have these type of conversations.
-
But who's willing to check it? Because guess what?
-
It ain't my fault racism is in me.
-
And watch this, my people can be as racist as the people they
-
call in racist. And a lot of times you like I'm
-
not racist. Well let's check your grandpa.
-
Let's check your parents. Did you have any colored people
-
come in your house growing up? If you went and looked, if you
-
went and looked at your Mama or your grandpa's bookshelf, what
-
do all the authors look like? So then if I'm only learning
-
from people that look like me, I only got a context that's like
-
me. Then whenever I lead, I only
-
know how to lead like me. So when are we going to address
-
that within ourselves? So when God plucked me out of
-
back home, guess what? I had to deal with fears and
-
insecurities before I moved here.
-
Look at my wife. We've had these conversations.
-
How do you raise two kids? Three kids Forgot that.
-
I didn't forget that little man. 3 kids.
-
Hey, man, I'm done. I'm done.
-
I'm done. Hey, man, how do you raise 3
-
kids? I don't know what I didn't
-
forget, right? How do you do that in that home,
-
right? There's easy.
-
It's easy for a biracial couple to stay married.
-
Never had these conversations. You better have these
-
conversations. If you going to send your kids
-
out there to live in this world when they're not going to be
-
this enough and they're not going to be that, you better
-
deal with that. Watch this.
-
And if you watch this, it's never been a time my wife and I
-
have actually talked about it and it hasn't been tension.
-
So you don't know that it's an issue until you start talking
-
about it. Some of y'all just mixed.
-
But you, you know, deep down inside you got questions because
-
you look that different. Some of y'all your hair is a
-
certain way and you just you, you think it's confidence.
-
But but just because you've developed, I don't care.
-
Don't mean you got confidence. What I'm saying is you can get
-
through life and get all the way to heaven and be fine, but never
-
manifesting into the, the, the complete person God has called
-
you to be. So there comes a time where you
-
got to actually dig deep and look within yourself and have
-
these conversations and ask these questions.
-
My parents, my kids did not ask me and their Mama to get
-
together. I don't know if my kids wish
-
that their parents was a different ethnicity.
-
I don't know that, but for me to think that they don't walk in
-
this world when my son is a black man who is walking through
-
the airport with his Italian Mama, Does he have questions?
-
Right. Well, 11 can I can I, can I just
-
go somewhere for with you? Me and me and my wife went to
-
Chicago and I remember walking down what was the what's the
-
community Hyde Park. Now I love my wife and I, I I'm
-
a public affection person, all that I don't, I don't really
-
care. But I remember walking through
-
Chicago and every store I went in, the black girls would look
-
at me a certain way. But I also remember feeling a
-
certain way walking down the street and seeing 98% black
-
folk. The one thing I felt was like,
-
man, when riots and things broke out and injustices broke out and
-
my people unified around these injustices, I am so far removed.
-
Am I really? Am I ass black because I didn't
-
fight some of the fights they had to fight, Although I still
-
have a fight that I fight. And I remember there was times I
-
would walk in and it was not even intentional.
-
But I'll go in the store and I'll just walk, walk ahead.
-
For me, it wasn't a a, a, a, an A shame thing.
-
I'm sitting here really having a moment, an identity moment with
-
myself. Like I am really removed from
-
us. And I remember having a
-
conversation because of how it made her feel as well.
-
So now I got to explain, babe, I wasn't a shape.
-
I'm like, I help. I grabbed your hand and it
-
wasn't just holding a hand. And it was she felt the tension
-
and I'm like, whoa, there's something in there that I need
-
to address. There's times where me and my
-
wife will go through it or she didn't listen how I wanted her
-
to listen, or she'll reject a piece of art or something like
-
that. And I have to deal with like
-
when my wife tells me no or we trying to raise our kids
-
together and there's a way she would do it and she might
-
protect it. You know, when you, when you got
-
kids, the Mama will protect and the daddy will protect them
-
sometime. And then when one protect you,
-
like don't do that to me. Then the next time you do it to
-
them. And it's crazy, household's
-
crazy. But then I have to deal with
-
these thoughts. I'm like all my life people that
-
look like you've been trying to shut me down.
-
So now I got to resist #1 She ain't the enemy #2 I can't have.
-
But that reflex comes up and you hear the enemy talking like, no,
-
she don't want the best for you. No, she just somebody.
-
Well, and then you go down this trail like she don't even
-
understand your story. She don't even understand that
-
she doing this. This is the real human
-
experience. God deals with racism in the
-
Bible. God deals with prejudice in the
-
Bible. Watch this.
-
God deals with the orphan in the Bible.
-
Why am I sharing this? Because I grew up in a people
-
and to this day are you married within your own kind.
-
What do I do with that? This is real stuff.
-
Are you a sellout and you see all the narratives in social
-
media and to walk around and ignore that and be like that
-
don't bother me that don't that don't impact our marriage.
-
That's absolute ignorance for a person that want to be all that
-
God has called them to be. You don't ignore that stuff.
-
You take that head on. Yeah, that's in me because I
-
inherited that thinking because I was born not too far removed
-
from slavery, not too far removed from a grandmama.
-
That every day, baby, you better talk like this.
-
You better look like this. You better clean yourself up
-
because this is the only way you're going to have a chance.
-
My grandmama. We be in the we be in the
-
backroom and I'll be talking and my grandma will be like, lower
-
your voice, honey. They can hear us.
-
I'm like, who can hear us? Who who can hear us?
-
But that you raised in a House of fear, raised in a House of
-
insecurity, raised in a House of a spirit of abandonment and you
-
went to church. But watch this, those who grew
-
up in church, you growing up pastors kids does not mean watch
-
this. You probably grew up with more
-
issues. Stop thinking because you was
-
raised in church and you was raised by pastors.
-
You didn't inherit no nasty stuff.
-
I don't know who this is helping, but if I was in your
-
seat, it'd be helping me right now because a lot of times we
-
are so surfaced when it comes to this thing and God's like, no, I
-
care about where you. I'm the one put you in that
-
country. I'm the one gave you those
-
parents. I know the complexities that was
-
in your household and I'm using them to frame you.
-
How dare you ignore them. When you are making a cake, if
-
you follow the ingredients, you don't ignore 1.
-
You know every ingredient that's watch this, all of that.
-
The molestation is a part of you don't avoid.
-
I don't know who I'm telling do not avoid it.
-
Let them dig it up. If you was abandoned understand
-
that feel that don't know No, I'm I'm over it.
-
No bitterness is a numbing agent.
-
This one even part of the this morning, but I think it's like 2
-
people in here that might be being helped.
-
This was a proverb that was inherited.
-
This proverb says we inherited this.
-
We we are stuck with this and this is just how our family is.
-
How many people, if you honest, have just come to the point
-
where you like, this is just how our family is.
-
Yeah, two people. That's good.
-
Yeah. But every time you say this is
-
how our family is, you are saying this is who I am.
-
You're just like, this is our family.
-
You're also saying this is me versus like, thank you, God, for
-
revealing this about my family. I'm about to interrupt it.
-
Through your spirit, the proverb became watch.
-
This became a shield and excuse disguised as theology.
-
They actually was making this excuse man.
-
My mom and them did this. My grandma and them.
-
It's been like this for generations that watch this.
-
They disobeyed you God. They rebelled against you God.
-
In other words, you can be eating some of the fruit of your
-
parents disobedience. If you could be born in the
-
wealth, you can be born into poverty, and if you can be born
-
into poverty, you can be born into bad thinking.
-
You can be born into adulterous spirit.
-
You can be born into sexual immorality.
-
You just don't got that sexual addiction for no reason.
-
Some of you just dealing with you like, oh, this just this
-
just it's what it is. I just like porn or I just like
-
I like I just I just feel this way.
-
No, no, no, no. If you just accept this is this
-
is me versus this ain't my fault, but I'm about to take
-
responsibility. Watch this.
-
This ain't mine. Here it is.
-
Here's a prophetic moment that the Saul puts on his armor on
-
David. David got a revelation.
-
David wasn't like this uncomfortable.
-
David wasn't like this too big. David was like, this is not
-
mines, it is yours. So I'm about watch this.
-
I'm about to give it back and you do what you want to do with
-
it. So Mama, I'm giving this back to
-
you. If you want to be bitter, then
-
you be bitter. But I'm not putting on bitter no
-
more bitter don't look good on me.
-
Come on, somebody say bitter don't look good on me.
-
Depression don't look good on me.
-
Come on, anxiety don't look good on me.
-
Come on, say anger don't fit well on me, addiction don't fit
-
well on me. This don't fit.
-
Here's some of our proverbs today.
-
My dad was like this men and our family struggle.
-
We've always had divorce. This is just how we are.
-
Disease runs in my family. It's it's coming up disease.
-
How many how many people that have some disease, some cancer,
-
some run in your family and you just accept it, man, watch this.
-
And you live in fear that it don't get on you versus facing
-
it be like Nah, Nah, Nah today. You know, diabetes, you're not
-
coming here. Cancer, breast cancer, you're
-
not coming over here. No, no, no, being a mental
-
illness, you're not. I don't care how far it ran.
-
It ran into a different type of person today.
-
It ran into the wrong 1 today. Come on, I'm talking about some
-
people are like not going to accept it.
-
You are not only running or or getting rid of it and making
-
sure it doesn't touch you, but you are you have been put right
-
in the middle so that it doesn't touch another person in your
-
bloodline. Come on, somebody say that was
-
in the past. We were never protected.
-
Dysfunction is who we are. Those are proverbs.
-
Those are elephants in the room. Somebody say.
-
But God confronts this mindset. He confronts this mindset.
-
Watch here. He does not deny consequence,
-
but he does deny inevitability. What he's saying is, remember
-
earlier, those that sin die. He's not saying that there's not
-
fruit from your actions, but he's also saying it is not
-
inevitable that you live with that fruit.
-
You don't automatically live in this fruit because they did
-
something. He interrupts this.
-
You are not spiritually stuck because of your parents, but you
-
are accountable for what you continue.
-
Am I talk to you? You're not you're you're not
-
stuck because of your parents, but you are accountable for what
-
you continue. This is important here.
-
This is not denial of generational influence.
-
It is denial of generational inevitability.
-
You got to get this because cancer has one rapid in your
-
bloodline. It does not mean that it is
-
inevitable that you are going to get it because there was abuse
-
in your family. It does not automatically mean
-
you just got the abuse gene. If the son continues the the
-
father's rebellion, here it is. He inherits his consequence.
-
That's what you got to get. Write it down.
-
Remember, if the son, if the daughter continues the father's
-
or the mother's rebellion, he or she inherits its consequence.
-
Watch this. There's not just family
-
patterns. There's also family fruit.
-
Family Feud has family fruit. If the sun turns, here it is the
-
other side of that. If the son or daughter turns, he
-
or she breaks the chain. Come on.
-
That's, that's, that's, that's where like 5 of you get excited
-
because here he, he is saying if you turn from the pattern, you
-
break the pattern. I'm, I'm looking for some people
-
who are willing to break the pattern, like break the pattern
-
today, make a decision to break the pattern.
-
It stops with me. Where you were raised may
-
explain your struggle, but it does not justify your surrender.
-
That's that's why I couldn't just be like, man, I was raised
-
here. And This is why I am like, I
-
love certain things that I, certain things that I, that I
-
grew up in and around, but some of it is absolute strongholds.
-
I go back home and I got friends who got that same mindset and
-
you got that mindset. They get stuck in those same
-
patterns and they're wondering why this and that is happening.
-
It's not what's this? It's not because of the
-
government. There are some systematic stuff
-
going on. OK, not ignoring that.
-
See, it's not either or. It's both right in the world,
-
not of it. So there's some things happening
-
in the world, yes, but there's also some things that are in my
-
control to break. You watch this.
-
There's no government that controls me.
-
No government you. You can tell me to go home.
-
Watch this. The Canada, all of the Canada
-
can tell the Richmond to pack up and go home.
-
You're not wanted here. Guess what?
-
It does not change who I am or my destiny.
-
You send me somewhere packing. I'm going to plant a church.
-
I'm going to do ministry. I'm going to make disciples.
-
I'm going to still be a husband. I'm still going to be a father.
-
It does not change me. So it doesn't matter if you put
-
me in the fiery furnace. Don't matter if you put me in
-
the lion's den. You will meet my God.
-
I don't care if it's your parents.
-
You take the keys back. You inherited the environment.
-
You still choose the alignment. How long you going to hold on?
-
I was raised around this. I was raised here.
-
I was, I was raised like this. I, I, I don't what?
-
You still choose the alignment. You you may have inherited
-
proximity to sin, but you did not inherit exemption from
-
obedience. Am I talking to anybody in here
-
today? You.
-
You, You. Yeah, sure.
-
You grew up around drugs. You grew up around.
-
You grew up around these things, But you still have a
-
responsibility to obey God. So many of us in here are asking
-
God to change the situation, change them, change my
-
surroundings. He's like, what's going on
-
around you have nothing to do with what I want to do within
-
you. You may have inherited exposure
-
to dysfunction. Hallelujah.
-
You did not inherit permission to continue it.
-
Watch this. Some dysfunction is cute.
-
That's why it's dangerous, right?
-
That that you, you see it all the time, that little girl or
-
that little boy. That's that's kind of doing and
-
it's cute. We share that kind of Instagram
-
stuff with little kids. It's like acting grown.
-
It's so cute when we see the little kids and AI make them
-
cuss and stuff. We'll share it and we'll even if
-
you don't share it publicly because you don't want people to
-
see that you like it, you share it in the private DMS.
-
But we don't understand how detrimental that kid.
-
What the what, what what's being set up?
-
Watch this. Ratchet is cute when you 5.
-
Yeah, Ratchet is cute when you 5 but when you 45?
-
But man, I didn't get a word about it till I was 45.
-
How hard is it now? Some of y'all sitting in here.
-
It was cute when you was young. Now you're being confronted with
-
the fact that responsibility is on you.
-
Not your Mama, it's on you. Not your brother, not your
-
daddy. You can no longer look back and
-
be like, that's a picture of who I am and that's why who I No,
-
no, no. Why not?
-
Right now, you ain't got peace because you are choosing not to
-
have peace. You have not taken
-
responsibility over your freedom.
-
That's why you're not free. Your last name explains your
-
exposure. It is not excuse your decisions.
-
Somebody say family matters, right, right, right.
-
You look at this little picture right here at the bottom in the
-
corner. Like like like all of us go
-
through this process like where are you going to decide to take
-
responsibility? Are you going to wait till you
-
are you going to wait till then? Where are you?
-
Where are you going to do some of y'all right about right right
-
around here like man, I kind of wish I would have just right
-
around here. I didn't have dad all the way up
-
to now, but I think you get what I'm saying.
-
Like like I told somebody, I, I, I sent my dad the book, my book
-
came my dad, your son released the book.
-
You know what my dad did? It wasn't like and I saw the
-
little bubbles and guess what's in that text right right now
-
still. And as I was sharing last night,
-
I was looking to be hurt, but I'm not.
-
And I'm not saying I'm not. It wasn't time I was saying I
-
was not because I was avoided. But I'm actually healed because
-
I am loved and I am loud in the Father to to love me.
-
I don't have an orphan spirit anymore.
-
I'm not hung up on how my dad treat me.
-
My my worth does not come from my biological parent affirming
-
me, right? I'm along the process now.
-
I'm along the process. I know who I am and I've allowed
-
God to love me. I've also allowed other father
-
figures to love me. I've allowed the other mother
-
figures to love me. I have allowed other mentors to
-
love me. I have let love in.
-
You have confined love to a person that has abandoned you
-
versus love being the father and letting love in.
-
God says this. The soul who wins shall die.
-
That's what he says, right? Here's translation for you.
-
The ripple stops with you. The one who sins dies.
-
So guess what you should stop doing?
-
Break the pattern because some of us, as bad as we don't want
-
to be like our parents. If you was honest right now, you
-
ever see some of your parents in you?
-
Oh, nobody want to admit it. Some.
-
Yeah, as bad as you don't want to admit it.
-
There's sometimes that parent or that grandparent or that auntie
-
come up and you, like, watch this or you enjoy that part
-
about you. But when they do it, you hate
-
it. It's OK.
-
When you do it, you put another name on it.
-
But when they do it, they're arrogant.
-
When you do it, it's confidence. When they say it, it's
-
inconsiderate. When you say it, it's
-
revelation. OK, Holy Spirit coming up some
-
downs, some some roads, it's some miles.
-
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Like we got to we got to pay
-
attention, man. There's some stuff where I hate
-
when my I hate when my wife do. But some of the some of the
-
times like she'll be like, oh, that that was, that was Nana
-
right there. That was Nana.
-
I know Nana why I love Nana. Nana is a whole, a whole gift
-
basket. She is Nana.
-
I love, I love Nana and Nana might be watching right now.
-
Listen, there's some things about Nana that even Nana don't
-
like, right? And when you start protecting
-
your dysfunction, you super unhealthy, but to have some
-
people in your life to be like, don't do that.
-
And you, you like you, right? I'm working.
-
I'm I'm really working on it. And then don't stop.
-
Stop saying God working on me. You've been saying that too
-
long, guys. He he got a God ain't working on
-
you that long on that one part. No, that's an excuse.
-
No, get this religious language out of here.
-
You know, God's still working on me.
-
It's it's five years now. God looking real unfaithful
-
right now. Second Samuel 12 says now we're
-
going to get those that won't be here in the second experience.
-
You'll get Part 2. Last week I opened this message
-
up. So if he wasn't here, I opened
-
it up at 12. So Part 1 of this was last week
-
at 12. So go listen to it.
-
And then today, if you're not here at 12, I'll be doing Part 2
-
of this now. Therefore, the sword shall never
-
depart. How many people remember that
-
scripture last week? The sword, even even if you
-
don't remember, just say Amen. I remember.
-
The sword shall never depart from your house.
-
David went buck wild. He should have been on an
-
assignment and he just thought he could delegate and stay home
-
and take a nap. And then we went on the patio.
-
Decide to drink some matcha lavender, matcha oat milk, wasp
-
honey, I don't know. While he's up on the on the on
-
the on the roof, he's stretching.
-
He looks across and he see a fine one and he tells his boy
-
go, go, go, go tell Eric, come here real quick.
-
Everybody gone Go tell her real quick.
-
Somebody say real quick. Yeah, real quick will cost you
-
generations, right? Real quick will fracture your
-
marriage. Just let me, let me just let me
-
just tell like, like have you ever something ever just flew
-
out your mouth real fast and then it messed up the whole
-
week? Yeah, real 'cause somebody say
-
real quick, real quick can cost you a long time.
-
I just hate to believe that man, Troy, like, like one piece of
-
fruit got us here like a bite. Like EJ really like a bite got
-
us here, watch this. And it was a bite.
-
It wasn't like God was saying that's the only tree.
-
He's like, man, this. You got a whole orchard.
-
Watch this. Watch this.
-
Y'all, It ain't never been picked from.
-
You're the first one to eat off all these trees, so you don't
-
even got to let me hurry up for all all the heathers Take the
-
truth. No, it wasn't even a rush for
-
nothing, right? Watch this.
-
And it wasn't the fall yet, so it wasn't even like it was
-
perfect. It was lush.
-
It was like, man, man, I bought this mango yesterday.
-
They was like people, it's from Peru.
-
It was $13 for this mango, but it was huge.
-
Woo. I I bought 1 one, but it was
-
from Peru and they're like everybody come in and they just
-
rush and grab. I want to meet the people who
-
buy a dozen of these these mangoes.
-
But my kids, I wanted to treat them.
-
I want to treat them now watch this.
-
Some of y'all's acting crazy over a mango that cost $13.
-
Watch this. Have you have you ever bought a
-
smoothie? Have you ever bought a a fresh a
-
fresh pressed juice Lem dollars? So this is the pure mango from
-
Peru. It makes you talk like that when
-
you eat it. So it was just a treat I was
-
bringing home for my kids. I was like, they like mangoes.
-
I'm not going to get the little little one.
-
Once you see the, the, the, the one from Peru, you don't want
-
the one, you know what I'm saying?
-
From Surrey. You don't want the bang out from
-
Surrey. What right.
-
This is, it's, it's like once you get in the promised land,
-
you don't want to just keep eating mana, right?
-
I'm just like, OK, so I bought 1 and brought it home.
-
They devoured it. And then I went back to the
-
grocery store to get something else.
-
And then I was like, it was like, you know, you want me?
-
I was like, I know I want you. I was like, all right, come on,
-
you come home with me. What are we talking about right
-
now? What are we talking about right
-
now, man? That's church, man.
-
I'm like, man, Hallelujah. What?
-
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come humbly before you today.
-
Oh my God, how did we get on? Mangoes, huh?
-
Real quick. See.
-
See real quick and you all the way over here.
-
Hey man, that was my illustration.
-
I knew what I was talking about. I mean there's a lot been said
-
this morning. I'm just saying and I was about
-
to go back to and David said no, I just ain't even the time
-
perfect place to stop. I'm like, yeah, this is we're
-
going to end with laughter because somebody needs that.
-
Some people didn't grow up in a house where laughing was pure.
-
Sometime laughing was to avoid pain.
-
Sometime laughing was all you had to survive.
-
Comedy is built off pain. But the Bible says laughter in
-
his purest form is medicine. And I for me, I also don't mind.
-
I feel like this is the gospel. This is talking about a mango
-
like Jesus. His parables was always they're
-
parables because he takes a common thing to communicate
-
Kingdom value, Kingdom message. And for me, I'm like, if I
-
can't, if I'm not living it, if I don't see the word working in
-
my life, I shouldn't be standing up here.
-
If I can't preach from my life, then I, I, I, I don't really, my
-
anointing don't work like that, right?
-
Because I'm not a pure teacher like that.
-
There's an Apostolic grace and God will function in a diverse
-
ways. And if you've been here long
-
enough, you've seen it. But.
-
What I understand about Apostolic ministry is they lead
-
with vulnerability. Paul says follow me, I'm letting
-
you in my life. So in some places you're going
-
to get this expository message, planned joke, a planned
-
illustration, more of an Apostolic prophetic way.
-
You're going to it's, it's like, no, no, no, no, this message is
-
preaching to me. I'm preaching it to you.
-
God is preaching through me and I have to lead vulnerable.
-
That's just, that's just the grace of my life.
-
Some people would not dare let you in on some of their, their,
-
their, their insufficiencies or some of their racial hang ups or
-
or like, but, but, but, but isn't that what Jesus did?
-
He told you, man, I don't got nowhere to lay my head.
-
Jesus talked about being persecuted.
-
Jesus, he cried, he, he, he lived.
-
Paul talked about his chains. He talked about when he wrote
-
letters, go read his letters. He is vulnerable.
-
He he doesn't mind saying, man, I want to be with you.
-
All right now I'm writing this letter.
-
So when I come and see you, man, I pray that you guys are in
-
faith. Like it's vulnerability.
-
And I feel like in this time what the world is looking for.
-
This is why we listen to some of the music we listen to because
-
somebody relate to us. But a lot of times with worldly
-
music, it can relate with you, but it can't redeem you.
-
It leaves you at connection, not transformation.
-
And there are some ripples that we all are dealing with. 1000%
-
of us in here are dealing with these ripples today and how we
-
lead and, and God is so cool because he'll put you in a
-
situation that will expose you and you just got to stab.
-
And I will tell you he's not calling you to an unsafe place.
-
Although initially while he's exposing you, it can feel
-
unsafe, but God will always surround you with people that
-
will handle you with the right tension.
-
Sometime it can be rough. It can be correction with
-
correction is not a spanking, it's not a whooping.
-
Correction is alignment. So I'm here for you today to
-
tell you that God is interested in your bloodline, not just your
-
today. He's bigger than your today.
-
He's interested in the things that your Mama wasn't healed
-
from. Because whatever she wasn't
-
healed from, I promise you, you got some of the remnant of that.
-
He's interested in future generations before you have
-
kids. He's interested in your marriage
-
before you get married. He's interested in your career
-
before you get in your career. So Father, today we just
-
surrender as your children on this sacrifice Sunday.
-
Father, as we bring our gifts and we partake in communion,
-
Lord, we remember you. You are generational God.
-
You are the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
-
Word you had centuries planned out to get our Savior here in
-
the earth. Word you're planning so long
-
term, but I thank God you're the God that start and finish your
-
Alpha and Omega. You started it, you will finish
-
it. You will see it to its end and
-
what I've come to learn is your end is an expected end.
-
It is victory. When it's all said and done.
-
My last name will not have defeat connected to it.
-
It will have victorious connected to it.
-
We thank you that greater is he as within me then he that is in
-
the world. Lord, we surrender our traumas
-
to you today. Yeah, Lord, we don't bury them
-
anymore. We, we we uproot the trauma now.
-
We uproot it now. But we confront the lies.
-
We, we confront that little girl or that little boy who was not a
-
affirmed or who was cussed out so much every day, who was
-
called out their name by their parents or their that abusive
-
uncle or Lord who had to watch their father drink himself to
-
sleep. Lord, we, we confront that now.
-
We do not, we, we do not brush that under the rug.
-
We do not bury that. We we we confront that little
-
kid who cried out because mom and daddy had an unhealthy
-
relationship with ministry. You confront that kid who missed
-
out on their childhood because they had to raise their little
-
siblings because mom or dad was always gone.
-
That child who had to protect their siblings because mom or
-
dad was always angry. That little kid who just
-
couldn't seem to take a test or sit in the classroom.
-
Their mind was racing. Who had dreams to go to college
-
but didn't have the sit still, the wherewithal, the finances,
-
whatever it may be because of what they grew up in.
-
Lord God, there's some dreams that they have accepted will not
-
come true. But I'm here to breathe on that
-
dream and let you know that your dreams do not have a deadline,
-
that those God-given dreams, as long as you're breathing, can
-
still come to pass. And maybe it's a dream that
-
you're meant to start and pull into your bloodline that the
-
next generation will steward and take it further than you ever
-
could. Holy Spirit, we ask for healing
-
today. We asked for complete healing.
-
Not just like, oh, OK, that's cool.
-
We've, we've gotten to a functional relationship.
-
No, we, we don't want to just be functional.
-
We won't be free. Indeed, functional has
-
loopholes. No, we, we, we, we RIP off all
-
the loopholes that the enemy can use in our lives.
-
By the authority of the blood of Jesus, we send those fears, the
-
fruit, the fruit, the fruit, those insecurities.
-
Put them under our feet. We dig a little deeper in that
-
route. That route is rejection.
-
That route may be abandonment. Restore our dance.
-
Restore our laugh. Here it is for someone.
-
Restore our innocence. You're the God that restores.
-
You're the God that reconciles. Come on, Smiley.
-
Someone stole your innocence, young lady, young man.
-
But God says the Father says you're still innocent to me.
-
You're my child. Some of you wonder why Mom, why
-
Dad wasn't there to protect me when that happened.
-
Or some of you take it further, why Mom and Dad didn't believe
-
me when I said that happened to me.
-
Why they didn't defend me. We're going to get into that
-
next experience. How David's anger was not
-
enough. David needed to respond, but
-
instead he was silent. And sometimes justice needs to
-
be executed. And there's some of you in here.
-
You have been victims of injustice in your own home.
-
You've been taken advantage of. You've been mistreated.
-
You have been overlooked. You have been underestimated.
-
Your voice haven't meant much. You've had to fight to be heard.
-
But through you, God is ready to put an end to that root ever
-
producing fruit in your bloodline again going if that's
-
you standing on behalf of your family, just lift your hands
-
right where you are and you might you might be raising your
-
hand for sure because all of us can can see ourselves as a
-
victim. We've all been sideswiped by
-
trauma. But today I'm not just raising
-
my hand because I was victimized or I inherited these patterns.
-
But today I'm also raising my hand as a vow, saying I will
-
also be the last one that these patterns take advantage of God.
-
You're doing a new thing through these families.
-
You're doing a new thing through these sons and daughters.
-
We silence the whispers of these lies that have plagued our
-
minds. And maybe some lies are not
-
often, but they are consistent. I don't care if the lie comes up
-
once a year, it's consistent once a year.
-
Just like your birthday comes up once a year, it's consistent.
-
No, no, no, that lie cannot live in your bloodline or your mind.
-
Another day we take authority over it.
-
Now in the name of Jesus, we plead the blood of Jesus over
-
your mind. Right now, in the name of Jesus,
-
we speak to that little boy, that little girl, and we say
-
rise up, it is your time. You are beautiful.
-
You are fearfully and wonderfully made son and
-
daughter. You are smart, you are
-
intelligent. You are seen.
-
You are heard. Yeah, David was abandoning that.
-
He, he wasn't called upon to be anointed.
-
He wasn't thought about to be anointed.
-
But the man of God said, yeah, none of these fine, tall,
-
handsome, strong men are the ones that God has sent me for.
-
God himself said, Nope, none of them count.
-
I'm here to tell you, you're walking in a season where God is
-
going to send the right man and the right woman to see you, to
-
anoint you, to call you out in the name of Jesus.
-
And I will leave you with this. Some of the absence was
-
protection, not merely abandonment.
-
God was also keeping you from some stuff.
-
The Lord is cleaning His name up in your bloodline.
-
What you and I have been through has not been a good reflection
-
on his name. He's cleaning his name up in
-
your bloodline. Watch this.
-
For his name's sake, He's about to do it.
-
Come on, somebody. For his name's sake, He's about
-
to do it. For his name's sake.
-
He's about to free you from his name's sake.
-
He's about to break that poverty for his name's sake.
-
He's about to heal your father, heal your mother, for his name's
-
sake. He's breaking addiction for his
-
name's sake. It is for his name's sake.
-
It is for his name's sake. He is about to heal your womb
-
from Baroness. It is for his name's sake.
-
Somebody say for his name's sake.
