Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Love Quest International

Church Podcast, where we seek to love all nations, equip the

church, mobilize the equipped, and serve all.

We're super glad you're joining us from whenever and wherever

you're at in the world. Welcome to the family to get

your Bibles ready, get some water, get some coffee, maybe

some tea, and get ready to receive.

Let's get into it. Well, thank you very much to

Pastor Terence and Pastor Julia for the honor to be able to

share this morning here at Love Quest Church.

It's always a blessing to be able to share in this house.

That's our house, but the house that God called you to build and

in faith and obedience, you stepped up and did the call.

Thank you so much. Thank you.

Who remembers our message from last Sunday?

Do you remember what it was called?

Count them up, count them up. We're counting up the goodness

of God, right? We're taking time to remember

who this this week found themselves taking time to

remember the goodness of God, right?

Taking that time to remember how God has moved, maybe in your

life, maybe in your your family's life and how God's

goodness follows us. I want to review real quickly a

few things that Pastor Terence talked about last Sunday as it

then leaps into what we're sharing today.

If you remember in Luke chapter 17, there's a story of the how

Luke 17 · chapter mention

many leopards were there? Do you remember 10, right?

And how many came back? One 10 received, one was

grateful, 1 turned back to remember.

In Luke 1715, it says one of them, when he saw that he was

healed, he turned back. He turned back, he turned back,

glorifying and praising and honouring God.

With a loud voice. You say loud voice with a loud

voice. Remember from last week, loud

voice. There's something about how he

declared the praises of God. There's something about how he

shared the goodness of God. It was with a loud voice.

He declared it. It came out of his mouth.

It wasn't just a thought. I'm thinking how good God is.

Did you get that? No, of course you didn't.

You could unless you read my maybe you read my mind, I don't

know. But but there's something about

declaring. How do others hear the goodness

of God without your declaring? There's a glorifying and

praising and honoring God with a loud voice and he lay face down

with a Jesus feet thanking him over and over.

He was a Samaritan. Pastor Terry has talked about

last week. He says there's a Samaritan.

He was an outsider. And yet the outsider was the one

who recognized the goodness of God and came back with gratitude

and Thanksgiving of heart. It was that returning back.

And we were encouraged to turn back and remember.

Remember last week we took moments to pause.

Remember that thing God saved you from?

Take time to pause. Remember the things that he kept

you from, to thank Him for those open doors, but also to thank

Him for the closed doors. And we take took these moments

to remember because in our remembrance of the goodness of

God, we can put a praise on our lips.

Pastor Tara said. When you remember who God has

been, you regain confidence in who God will be.

In our remembering of what he has done, we remember that he is

able. And now in my current situation,

I have confidence in who he will be on my behalf.

Count them up, Count them up. Count up the blessings.

Count up the ways guys moves. Yeah, there's that old hymn for

this is this is for some of those hymn lovers out there.

Thank you. Thank you, older John.

Count your blessings. Name them 1 by 1.

Count your blessings, see what God has done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise

you what the Lord has done. Come on, see, this is that

taking stock, taking a moment to remember the goodness of God,

how he's moved in your life, how he's worked in your life, the

goodness of God, of how He's given us salvation and peace and

love. A love that I can't conjure of

my own understanding is a love that's been poured out into my

heart by God. If I just take a moment to think

about that, to consider the times where I had peace, when

peace didn't make sense. Count your blessings, count all

of them. Rack them up, put them, put a

memorial on them, put a remembrance to them, and it'll

surprise you how much God has been in your detail.

Why does it? Why does that him say it'll

surprise you? Because we don't always take

that time to remember, Pastor Tarrant said.

Some of the greatest miracles in your life are the disasters that

God prevented. That near miss that God

intervened in that business deal that you thought you'd missed

out on, but God was protecting you.

The thing God prevented in his kindness and his love.

Pastor Tara says we look forward with hope, but we look backward

with gratitude. We are not turning back.

We are building a memorial. See a memorial.

There's memorials in different parts of the city to different

things that occurred. And sometimes there's like a War

Memorial. And some of those are for wars

over 100 years old. Some our memories are even

further back than that. But the purpose of the memorial

is to be a lasting reminder. And in your life, we look back

to have a memorial of the goodness of God.

That means it's a lasting reminder, an enduring reminder

that God is more than able so we don't forget.

A memorial has time connected to it and so we take the time to

remember so that we have a memorial, but we also take the

time to tell the goodness of God to help others have that same

memorial. Psalm 103, verse 2 says bless

Psalms 103:2

the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Why did the psalmist have to remind himself?

He had to say, I'm going to bless God and I'm not going to

forget. I'm going to remember all the

good things God has given, all the ways God has moved in my

life, all the way He's preserved me and protected me.

I will bless God. I will give a Thanksgiving to

God, and I will. I will tell my soul, Don't you

forget it. Don't you forget what He's done.

Don't you forget how he's moved? Don't you forget it.

You keep a memorial. You keep that remembrance of

God. You keep that position of

remembering. And then Pastor Terence says

recognition triggered remembrance, and praise always

begins with recognition. We're still in review.

Just seeing that recognition triggered remembrance.

When he recognized that he had been healed, it triggered A

remembrance to turn back to Jesus.

And in the turning back, he brought with him his praise.

One of the things we have to remember is who God is.

In the scriptures there are some great descriptions of the glory

and immensity of who God is. Ezekiel sees God on a cloud, and

the glory of God is like a rainbow light, and he is

powerful in presence. In Revelation 1 we see Jesus,

the resurrected Jesus, and his voice is like the great waters.

His hair is white as wool, his eyes ablaze with fire, His

tongue is as a sword. This is the greatness of the God

that we serve. Yes, he came as a baby.

Yes, he came that we might have life, and yes, he died, but in

his resurrection he walks in power in complete fulfilment of

what he was called to do. So we might have life.

So we have a praise from that position of recognizing who God

is. And so today we're going to talk

about fuel them up. Fuel them up.

We did count them up and now we're going to talk about fuel

them up. How do we fuel?

How do we provide fuel for our faith, fuel in our life, fuel

through to be able to walk out the call that we've been given.

The first step is remember. I want to give another example

of remembrance. And it's actually a church, a

church in the New Testament. There's a Church of Ephesus.

And around 60 AD Paul writes to the church at Ephesus and we

call it the book Ephesians. And he says some amazing stuff.

It's one of my favorite books to read, but I want to, I picked

out a few verses that I want to go over that you can hear hear

the tone and the message that Paul is writing here in 60 AD to

the Ephesians. He says in Ephesians 115 for

this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord

Jesus and your love for all God's people, man.

They had love that for God's people.

That was now their their reputation.

I hear Paul Paul administered there over time and and had

actually had had an X20 his his last visit with them.

But this is about a couple of years after that when he writes

this letter and he says, man, I'm hearing of your love for all

God's people in Ephesians 2, four it says, but God being so

very rich in mercy because of his great and wonderful love

with which he loved us. They were hearing this from

Paul. Man, he loves you so much.

There's so much love for you, this great love with which he

loved you. Ephesians 317 to 19 is a part of

a prayer that that Paul writes in Ephesians.

He says, then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you

trust in him. Your roots will go down into

God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to

understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how

high, how deep his love is. And may you experience, I love

that. May you experience the love of

God, though it is too great to understand fully.

Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life

and power that comes from God. Wow.

Can you imagine reading that in your, your local message?

This is a letter written by Paul.

And here they are standing up in church saying, Oh yeah, love

that's that's deeply rooted and to know his love is so deep and

so wide and we are made complete in all the fullness of life and

power that comes from God. What a promise.

Ephesians 5 verse one to two. It says imitate God therefore in

everything you do because you are his dear children.

Live a life filled with following the example of Christ.

He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us.

A pleasing aroma to God. Wow.

And then these are the last two verses of the book.

Peace be with you, dear brothers and sisters, and May God the

Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you love with faithfulness,

and may God's grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus

Christ. Now, have you seen a pattern in

these verses? Did they do a good enough job to

show you the pattern of these verses?

OK, just checking, just checking the love of God.

And they had love for others. And as I was looking, I was

like, wow, there's the word love seems to have been put in the

Ephesians more than even like Corinthians or or or Galatians

or Philippians. He's talking about love.

He's reminding them of the love of God.

He's excited how they're expressing love to others and

have love for all the Saints. And so around 35 years later.

About 40 years is usually considered a generation.

Jesus is speaking in the Book of Revelation, Revelation chapter 2

Revelation 2 · chapter mention

and verse one. The Jesus says, write this

letter to the Angel of the church in Ephesus.

This is the message from the one who holds the seven stars in his

right hand, the one who walks among the seven gold lampstands.

In the end of Revelation One, we learned that the lampstands were

the churches, were a symbol of the churches, He says.

I know all the things you do, you're doing.

These are the works you're doing.

I know those things you do. I have seen your hard work and

your patient endurance. I know you don't tolerate evil

people. You've examined the claims of

those who say they're apostles but are not.

You've discovered they're liars. Oh, these guys were good.

They had discernment. They worked hard.

They had patient endurance. They could.

They could see through people who didn't belong.

They had discernment and understanding.

You have patiently suffered for me without quitting.

That's good, right? That's good.

But I have this complaint against you.

You don't love me or each other. What happened?

What happened 35 years later, 35 years later, you're known for

loving the sense. You're known for love.

You have a reputation to love others.

And here, 35 years later, to that church, that same church,

you don't love me or each other as you did at first.

Look how far you've fallen. This is 35 years later.

Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.

If you don't repent, I will come and remove your lamp stand from

its place among the churches. But he's calling them and

saying, remember, Remember where you were.

Remember that first love you had.

Turn back and remember. Yeah, that's right.

That's what Paul wrote to us. That's right.

I remember. He said we're rooted in love.

Actually, a call is love. I remember.

I remember my parents saying, I remember my grandparents told

the story about I'm not going to forget that.

Here's the beautiful part of this, he says, Look how far

you've fallen. That means you can get back up.

Somebody doesn't give you a warning because they want you to

get injured, right? Mum and dad don't say don't run

on the road because they don't care for you.

They warn you because they want you to be whole.

And so Jesus is saying here you've fallen, come back, return

back, repent, come back, turn around and remember that love.

Remember he's calling to a whole church.

Remember, look at those things you did at 1st and remember, see

what had caught them, what had what had positioned them.

You know, they were so good at the hard work.

They were so good at discerning and judging and and yet they'd

lost that love and their turn back was a callback to love.

They've turned back to remember as a callback to a love walk, a

callback to wholeness, a callback to gratitude, a

callback to praise, a call back to walk in that love of God that

had been shed abroad in their hearts.

And so we remember how you remember, stalls you or

launches you. Key here is how how you

remember. You ever met people said this a

little earlier with some people, but have you ever met those

people who the best memories that they're they're reminisces

that when they're thinking of the best times of their life is

like back in high school. Those were my years.

Yes, I was on the the the hockey team or the football team.

That was the best time of my life.

My best friend, my best connections.

That was that was the day. But they get stuck, Stuck in

their old habits, stuck in their old preparations, stuck in what

they thought was the best life, stuck in this position where

that was the light, that was the time their best memories were

from 30 years ago, 20 years ago. They they got stalled in their

remembering. Have you ever heard other

believers and perhaps those who've been a little bit older

and say, oh, I remember when we had this guy and this guy and

this happened. Oh, those were great days back

then. I wish I was back there.

See, saying there, those were good days, that's fine.

But they're saying, I wish I was back there means you're stalled

in that time. You're stalled in that

revelation, that understanding. That's what's got you stuck.

But how you remember is important because if you

remember that, and so those were great days and now I'm here and

God's more than able, that launches you.

Your memory then launches you. Remembrance is not a call to

nostalgia. It is fuel to ignite belief when

we remember the things God did. So I took some time this this

week after the great message we have from Pastor Terrance on

Sunday and had a time to talk with my parents and share some

stories and hear some stories again.

And some of them actually one of them I don't think I ever

remember hearing before. That's the funny fun thing about

talking to old people who've been around a bit.

You know, it's like, OK, I've lived with you for a long time.

I don't even remember that story.

OK, and they're sharing share the story with about my Gran on

my dad's side and in her late 60s.

She said, OK, well, you know, my kids are gone and and doing

their thing and everything. So OK, I'll Lord, what do you

want us to do? And she had raised my dad and

his his brother as a single mother and just had picked up

jobs everywhere she could get to to make things me.

And she got connected with a pastor who who would take a

group of people and they'd have to get around the world tickets

when you used to be able to get a round the world ticket and

there would be different stops along the way.

And it's usually about a group of 15 people.

She said, OK, Lord, I'm going to do that.

I'm going to do that. So what all they had to do is

they had to provide the the ticket by a certain day and then

they could be a part of it. And this one time she had picked

up work as a nanny and other things, and but she was short a

certain amount of money, quite a bit of money, and the money was

due the next day. And so she said, OK, Lord, if

you want me there, you know where I am.

That night there's a knock on the door and it come a couple

that she knew and they they love the Lord, but we're not

attending a church at the time, but still wanted to tithe and

they had remember the old Bible covers.

I don't know if you remember with the big zips on them.

They open it up. You remember and and opened it

up and there was a bunch of cash that was their tie.

The Lord told us to give this to you.

It was exactly what she needed for that ticket the next day.

See, now I can say, oh wow, that's good.

I'm so glad God did something back then or I can take that as

fuel and say, but the same God's alive today and he's more than

able, the same God is able to do greater mighty things now.

My grandfather on my mum's side and and grandma and grandpa on

that side were in ministry and they were believing God for a, a

building that would become a revival centre and they were

going to have a, a Bible college out of it.

They had a church, but they were believing God.

They were always just renting and they, they believed God for

that. They found the place and they

were, they were had to put a deposit down and they still

didn't have the money for the deposit, but they believed God.

They believed God and then two days before it was due, God

provides same God. See, this is remembering in a

way to fuel and ignite your belief.

And maybe you don't have those stories.

Steal them. We're all one big family anyway.

OK, it's all right. You know, I, I steal people's

stories of faith all the time, right?

I, I don't retell them as my own.

I don't do that. But.

But I steal them so that I can be fuelled by them.

Elder John got me a great book. He, he knows I love The

Revivalist and a great book by John G Lake about his story.

And I'm reading these stories and I've got yeah, God, you can

do that. Lord, God, you are the God who

heals. Yeah, you heal back then, You

heal today. Lord, God, you are the God who

provides. You provided back then, you

provide today. Lord, you are the God who is

more than able. You did it back then, you do it

today. I just wrote down a few names of

of people who's like John Wesley, Sadhu, Sander Singh,

Watchman Knee, Reinhard Bonke, William Seymour, Amy Sample

McPherson, John G Lake, Catherine Kuhlman, Yong Echo,

the Cambridge 7 Smith, Wigglesworth, Elias Letwabo

Simeoni Zimbabi Simeoni Zimbabi was part of the East African

revival that God did in the 1920s and 30s.

See, see, Gee, don't, don't, don't, don't just take it from

the people, you know. See, God is moving everywhere.

All who believe will kill the children of God.

It says it's John 112 and God is moving and God has moved.

Understand that. So you can take those promises

and you can bring them to the now.

And we remember, so we believe, we remember to believe in John

John 20 · chapter mention

chapter 20 and verse 30 and 31. This is near the end of the

Gospel of John. And he says there are also many

other signs and miracles which Jesus performed in the presence

of the disciples, which are not written in this book.

But these are written. So say that with me.

These are written in order that you may believe, believe,

believe. See, these are written so you

believe. These are written so that you

would believe that you would believe.

The purpose of the history, the purpose of the remembrance is

that you believe, in order that you may believe that Jesus is

the Christ, the Son of God, and that through believing and

cleaving to and trusting and relying upon Him, you may have

life through His name, through who He is.

Our remembrance is so we believe.

We return to Him so we may believe.

Our turn back is so we may believe.

Isaiah 30 and verse 15. Sorry, before you go, go back.

One belief must be fresh for every generation.

You cannot live on your grandparents faith.

You cannot live on your parents faith.

You can be encouraged by it. It can encourage your faith and

lift you and you recognize it. But it's you who believe.

You are the one who has to believe what God has said and

apply it. You're the one who believe.

A fresh belief, a fresh faith that God is more than able, a

fresh faith that he is who He said he is.

A freshness to that faith. Belief must be fresh.

Isaiah 31st, 15. I love this verse, for thus said

the Lord God the Holy One of Israel, in returning to me and

resting in me, you shall be saved.

He was calling Israel to turn back to him, and in that turn

back He would give them rest. He would give them the place of

Holmes. Same God right now, same God

right now, same God right now. Yes, now, believe it.

Same God, same God right now, same God back then.

He is more than able. So remember, believe, speak

Dynasty Wednesday, this past Wednesday, which was our last

one, Pastor Terence spoke about speaking the Word of God,

speaking Acts 4 verse 19 and 20. Peter and John had been

Acts 4:19

investigated by the the Sadducees because they were

preaching in the temple and they were charged.

They were actually beaten and then they were charged.

You can't speak in that name of Jesus anymore.

Jesus is a threat. Jesus is a threat.

But Peter and John replied, Do you think God wants us to obey

you rather than him? We cannot stop telling about

everything we have seen and heard.

We remember the goodness of God, the way he's moved, what he's

done in our lives, how he's engaged us.

We remember it fuels our belief and then we cannot but speak of

the goodness of God. I love that word.

Cannot Peter and John have been with Jesus said they'd gone

through all the UPS and the downs and the trials and the

the, the messages and the miracles and the and and and

the, the death, the resurrection, the confusion, the

lack of hope. Then in the resurrection, the

renewed hope and now the empowerment of the Spirit of God

of Pentecost. And they said we've sinned too

much. No, no, no, no.

I've seen too much. You want me to not speak?

I've seen too much. I've seen too much.

I've heard too much. I can't do that.

I can't help but speak of the goodness of God.

We believe, therefore we also speak.

This is a quote from Second Corinthians chapter 4, which is

2 Corinthians 4 · chapter mention

actually quoting A Psalm. I think it's Psalm 112.

It says, yet we have the same spirit of faith as he who had,

as he had, who wrote in Scripture.

I believed, therefore I spoke. So we also believe, therefore we

also speak knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will also

raise us with Jesus and will present us along with you in his

presence. Say this after me.

I believed, therefore I spoke. I believed, therefore I spoke.

There's a connection. And he says knowing it was out

of his knowing of who God is, out of his knowing the goodness

of God, out of his knowing the love of God, out of his knowing

the nature of who God is, out of that knowing.

We also, we also believe, therefore we also speak knowing.

See that knowing of God, that knowing of who he is was that

motivation that says because I know who he is, because I

believe in him, because I have believed, I can't but speak the

goodness of God. I cannot but speak of his love.

I cannot but speak of how he good he is.

I cannot but speak of his love. So how do we position this?

You know the we've exposed that remembrance when we don't

remember, like the Church of Ephesus when they lost their

remembrance of that love, that first love, right?

We've exposed that when we forget, we can fall short of

what He's called us to. But we've been equipped that in

our believing, in our turning back and remembering the

goodness of God and pulling it forward, that He is more than

able. That actually in our remembering

and not getting stuck in our remembering, but letting

remembering be fuel for belief. We have the power for now, the

power to be able to walk the walk He's called us to.

And out of that He is more than able.

Out of that belief. Therefore, we speak.

We speak to one another to build each other's faith.

We speak to those around us to share our faith.

We speak out the goodness of God.

You know what, How much that helps one another.

I was sharing with some people and and hearing their stories.

I'm like, yes, that's exciting. And then I share my stories of

how God's been faithful in my life and that's turns them up,

man. We get, we come here every week

and I'm like, Mark, guess what happened this week?

Ah, it's so good you got to hear it.

You know what, I was stressed out.

I'm not knowing where we're going to get this finances for.

But let me tell you what God did.

First of all, he gave me this piece that was rock solid man,

that piece, that piece, that kind of piece.

And then, and then guess what he provided You see in your

testimony, don't you forget that the peace is a gift as much as

the provision, because that's that God kind of living.

That's that God kind of living. A God kind of living of love and

joy and peace and patience and kindness of goodness and

faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

That's that God kind of living. In the next experience, we're

going to continue on a bit more about the three powers of the

voice of faith. Pastor terrorists laid these out

on Wednesday and we're going to go into those in a bit more

detail. But today I want to encourage

you, stir your faith by remembering.

I'm not sure if you, maybe you went here last week.

So let this be an encouragement to you for this week.

And if you were here last week and you didn't take some time

just to remember, sit quietly and remember or, or, or sit with

someone in your family and remember.

And not, not the, the, the troubles, we all have troubles,

but the faithfulness, the goodness, the goodness in the

trouble. And let that fuel your faith.

Bring it to you now. Bring it to your present

situation. Bring it into your current

space. He is the same God back then,

the same God now. Same God, Same God, Same God,

same God. Lord God, I thank you.

We will not forget. We'll build a memorial to fuel

our belief. Not a memorial to hold us in the

past and stole us, but a memorial that launches us and

ignites our belief. Lord, we will learn how to

remember well. How to remember your goodness,

how to remember your kindness, How to remember how you kept us.

How to remember that the same God who did the great things in

the scriptures in a generations past is the same God now and the

same God to come? Your hand is not shortened.

You are more than able a Lord. We remember, we remember, we

remember, we remember, we remember and we believe.

Believe in our hearts, Believe your word, believe you're the

God today who's more than able believe who you say you are in

the word. We search your scriptures to

know who you are. We search the scripture so we

can pray, knowing that you are the God who heals.

You said I am the God that heals you, Lord, That's the God I

serve. You're the God who brings

liberty and freedom. Lord, that's the God I serve.

You're the God who makes confused minds clear and sound.

That's the God I serve. You're the God who destroys fear

and builds faith. That's the God I serve.

Lord, you're the God who provided for Abraham Isaac and

Jacob. Isaac in the middle of a

drought, He received a great and bountiful harvest.

That's the God I serve, Lord, You're the God who is able to

provide all the money my grand needed for that ticket the day

before, because that's the God I serve.

Oh, you are the God who protects us, who keeps us in that near

miss. That's the God I serve.

You're the God who is thoughtful of the detail.

You say not even a Sparrow force, and you don't see it.

And so in the details of our lives, you see it.

That's the God I serve, the God who sees the God who sees.

That's the God I serve. You're the God who poured your

love in our hearts, who made the way through Jesus, that

sacrifice, who in sacrifice redeemed us.

That's the God I serve. And you are the God who in

resurrection power took authority over death and hell

and all the works of the enemy. That's the God I serve.

And you are the one Jesus who declared all authority in

heaven. And our earth is given to me.

That's the God I serve. Lord, we remember.

We remember, We remember and we will not be shaken from it.

We remember and we shall not be moved.

We remember and we shall believe.

We remember and we shall speak. We remember, Lord, we remember.

We remember. We remember your goodness.

We remember your kindness. We remember that first moment we

received you, Lord. Lord, we remember that moment

where we received the love of God, we receive Jesus.

We remember our first love, we remember how you transformed us.

We remember your grace that's given for us.

We remember that all of our sin has been cleansed by your blood

because you loved us. We remember you made a way that

we would know you Almighty God. We remember the love of God that

we experienced have first embraced us, that we had fallen

away from You, that we were far from you.

You reached out. We remember you reached out,

Lord, and you drew us close. We remember your great kindness,

we remember your great love. We remember, Lord, we remember

those moments of intimacy with you sitting at your feet.

Remember those times of dedication.

Remember those times when we said, Lord, all of you, Lord, we

remember and we will not be silent anymore.

Lord, we remember. You, your love, Your goodness.

We remember. Our belief is fueled.

Our belief in you is ignited. Our belief in you is growing.

Our faith rises. Our faith rises.

Our faith rises. Our faith rises.

Our faith rises. Our faith rises.

Our faith rises. Because you are so good.

Holy Spirit of God, Jesus said you will bring to remembrance.

You'll bring it to our remembrance Lord this week.

Bring to our remembrance, Lord, those moments we may have set

aside, we may have put on the shelf.

Bring it to our remembrance where you've moved, where you've

transformed us. Bring it to our remembrance so

we can run, run, run with passion, Run with you.

Run with your call. Because we took the time to

remember. We took the time, the set a

memorial, the set a benchmark so we can run.

Lord, we remember, we remember, we remember, we remember, We

remember. Lord, we remember.

Praise the Lord, give the give the Lord a praise.
