  1. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Love Quest International

  2. Church Podcast, where we seek to love all nations, equip the

  3. church, mobilize the equipped, and serve all.

  4. We're super glad you're joining us from whenever and wherever

  5. you're at in the world. Welcome to the family to get

  6. your Bibles ready, get some water, get some coffee, maybe

  7. some tea and get ready to receive.

  8. Let's get into. It glad to be here today.

  9. I'm excited about what God has to share.

  10. We're going to be building on the theme.

  11. I love the one God does that builds on the theme, and I think

  12. it's going to be something very encouraging with you and for

  13. you. I do want to thank our pastors

  14. for the opportunity to share the Word of God.

  15. I really appreciate it helps me grow, but also helps grow our

  16. community. God is in the activating

  17. business, and my hope is that in God activating me, there's

  18. someone out there that sees that God can activate them too

  19. because we need everyone activated based on what God is

  20. doing. Amen, Amen.

  21. Let me on a set one thing up here.

  22. Can you put this? So we're going to be talking

  23. about praying through today, picking up that thing.

  24. Hey, man, you can put the title slide up praying through through

  25. just one more hour right now. Now, this is not all this part

  26. isn't on my slides, but I thought it fitting to to share

  27. this. What does it mean to pray

  28. through? Sometimes people throw around

  29. terms or, or say things and, and, and, and you're like, what

  30. does it mean? What what does that relate to?

  31. It was important to understand and, and get to that.

  32. OK, And what praying through means?

  33. It means praying until it's done.

  34. OK, Sometimes that means until you see it.

  35. But sometimes it doesn't mean till you see it.

  36. It means till it's done. OK, the same God that pulls you

  37. and calls you to prayer is the same God that tells you we're

  38. done. Sometimes that means you see it,

  39. but sometimes you're not. Sometimes you see it in

  40. different forms than you expect. So for example, there was Anna,

  41. a prophetess from the New Testament.

  42. She was serving God with praise and fastings day and night.

  43. There was a word that came to what sent me into there's a word

  44. that came to them. They would see the Savior when

  45. Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple as it was a custom at

  46. 8 days, she saw the Savior. He wasn't the crucified Savior.

  47. He wasn't the risen Savior yet, but he was the Savior.

  48. She prayed through until she saw it.

  49. Even though the form she saw it, it may be indifferent than what

  50. we expected. Praying through means praying

  51. until you get a release from God in your spirit that that's it.

  52. It's taken care of. There are times where I've had

  53. to pray for things and pray for things and I pray for things and

  54. I felt the Lord's like, thank you.

  55. It's done now. It is as it is.

  56. If you never pray for for again, it is as sure as ever.

  57. But this is really important why?

  58. Because when you get that relief from the Lord that is done and

  59. you're still trying to pray, why are you afraid?

  60. Are you scared because you don't see it yet?

  61. Make sense? Sometimes praying when God is

  62. saying it's finished is getting into disobedience.

  63. All of our prayers based on God leading.

  64. It's not based on our seeing. That's why the prayer is is

  65. effective. That's how you pray through.

  66. When you're praying based on your seeing, you're

  67. automatically limiting your prayer.

  68. Praying through is based on God's leading because he knows

  69. exactly what's required to finish this thing and to get

  70. through. Amen.

  71. So we have to be willing. There's nothing wrong with

  72. checking God. There's anything else you want

  73. me to pray about that I know you told me it was finished.

  74. I got a release. I got a peace in my spirit that

  75. it was done, but I'm just checking this week.

  76. We still good, Still good. Month pass.

  77. God, we still good. Don't you pray about that?

  78. No, it's good. It's good, It's good.

  79. Two months pass. God, we need to pray about that.

  80. Yeah. There's something else I want

  81. you to pick up on that now. Was it not finished?

  82. No, it may have been finished. Maybe God's like.

  83. I'm adding an addendum to it based on how other people have

  84. been responding. I'm going to add this to it now

  85. and tack that onto it. Amen.

  86. So that's what it means to pray through.

  87. It does mean you're praying sometimes until you see it, OK,

  88. But it doesn't always mean you're praying until you see it.

  89. And I think that's an important distinction to make, but that's

  90. the way. But you'll know the difference

  91. by the time you spend with the Lord.

  92. OK, everyone got that. Was that helpful?

  93. Helpful. OK, I remember my Mama praying.

  94. Give example. My Mama, my mom praying.

  95. She was praying. I like to say my Mama, my Mama

  96. praying, you know, I remember praying one time she's telling

  97. me about she was praying one time she's praying, she's

  98. praying. Then she went all right and went

  99. to go cook or something, you know, something just like we

  100. were like, ain't no 90° ain't going out.

  101. She's like, oh Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Oh Lord, let's go to

  102. the mall now. It was like that.

  103. You know, I'm like, what's going on with you said no, it's, it's

  104. done. God is blowing witness in my

  105. spirit that we're done with that now we, we're good, right?

  106. So again, that's important to recognize.

  107. We're going to give you some tips about praying through

  108. praying through everyone say praying through praying through

  109. praying through means all the way to the finish, not to the

  110. finish line, but through the finish.

  111. All of my track stars and my track coach up in I got a track

  112. coach helps me learn, helps me preach.

  113. What they say is you got to run through the tape, not to the

  114. tape. Gentlemen, y'all remember the

  115. Olympics? Last Olympics.

  116. Not Olympics. Olympics.

  117. The last Olympics. Last Olympics.

  118. Guy who won 100 meters. What's his name?

  119. Leah. No.

  120. No allow. No allows.

  121. This is my dog over there. My dingo.

  122. He's Australia. He's my dingo.

  123. I'm his dog. I'm.

  124. I'm your anyway. OK?

  125. No, no. No allows.

  126. No allows. Right.

  127. He won by how he pressed through the tape.

  128. One guy leaned through the tape with his head.

  129. Noah leaned with his chest. His chest caught it.

  130. It's about how your chest, not your head, the chest caught him,

  131. right? Praying through means knowing

  132. how to finish all the way. One of the ways you pray through

  133. is understanding this. I'm not if you are, if you

  134. running 100m race, I don't train to run 100 meters.

  135. I train to run 200 meters. So that way at the end of my 100

  136. meters, I am as strong at the end as I was at the beginning.

  137. Praying through means you got to be willing to pray beyond what

  138. you perceive, beyond the capacity, beyond what you think

  139. it might take. You're not training to get

  140. things done. You're training to be as strong

  141. and as graceful and as full and connected with God as it's

  142. possible to be. I got a couple things for you

  143. here. Number one is this.

  144. Don't expect your prayer to change things if your prayer

  145. hasn't changed you. If you want a prayer that

  146. prevails, changing things, don't expect to have prayer that

  147. prevails. If you don't have a prayer

  148. that's changed you, you, you can't pray to a space that you

  149. have not gone in your own life. It's difficult to do that now.

  150. There's a grace that can come on you to do that.

  151. That's some of the gifts of the Spirit.

  152. The gift of faith sometimes will come on to someone to take them

  153. someplace or have them pray something beyond their lived

  154. experience. But if your prayer ain't

  155. changing you, why do you think it's going to change

  156. circumstance? Where would you get that

  157. understanding from? Because if your prayers changing

  158. you now, you got confidence that the same God who's changed you

  159. is that God's going to change that.

  160. But if you believe you're stuck, but that's God to unstuck

  161. something that's difficult, the internal confidence in you will

  162. be distorted because you don't even believe it's, it's big

  163. enough for you and you know you, you don't know all the

  164. circumstances of what you're praying for.

  165. Don't expect your prayer to change things if your prayer

  166. hasn't changed you. So then one of the first tips

  167. then in prevailing prayer is to have prayer that changes you

  168. first. God change me to follow you,

  169. change me to obey you change me to honor you.

  170. God transform me. Give me your eyes to see who you

  171. are in this. Let me be changed.

  172. God first on the process as I'm praying for change in other

  173. places. If you're praying for people to

  174. be healed and you're trying to breakthrough, yes, you pray for

  175. healing, but you also pray for peace.

  176. That's just a little side tip. Pray for peace, but you just

  177. what you also pray about. God help me to see that you're a

  178. healer in this situation. Change my vision, change my

  179. understanding to believe that you can and you will change me

  180. and my relationship with you and my relationship to you.

  181. Genesis 3226 through 28, I got another one up there.

  182. I didn't give you it's job 42 five, not right now, but it's

  183. going to come into that in this section.

  184. Genesis 3226 to 28 says this got it up there.

  185. The man said, now this is Jacob wrestling, OK, the man wrestling

  186. quote UN quote. The man, the man said let me go

  187. for his day break. But Jacob replied, I will not

  188. let you go until you bless me. I would not go until I ain't

  189. changed. Being blessed doesn't mean just

  190. giving something. I heard someone preach this for

  191. a good friend of mine. You said this.

  192. Most folks, a lot of folks preach that I will not let you

  193. go until you bless me, until you bless me.

  194. She says she was praying that she was seeking God and God

  195. revealed to her. And I think this is probably

  196. more accurate. It says I won't let you go until

  197. you bless me. Jacob had been blessing himself

  198. his whole life. He was a trickster.

  199. He was a huckster. He was a manipulator.

  200. He knew how to get in on the end.

  201. He knew the game and how it worked.

  202. He said I know how to bless myself.

  203. I need a blessing that only comes from God.

  204. I need you to transform me. I can't trick my life in the way

  205. it needs to be anymore, right? I need to be changed.

  206. My prayer needs to change me first, above all else.

  207. St. Corinthians 85 says this, that

  208. in giving before giving an offering, people gave themselves

  209. 1st and they exceeded our expectations.

  210. They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the

  211. will of God they finished their giving.

  212. They first said, change me, let me be changed, Let me give

  213. myself first to the Lord. Let me put myself in a place

  214. where God prevails in my life first as I'm seeking to have God

  215. prevail through my prayers in the lives of others.

  216. Amen. Acts 19, verse 15 and 16.

    Acts 19:15

  217. This is something, this is a verse we all know seven sons of

  218. Sceva, right? They're trying to get trying to

  219. get over and trying to do what the people of God we're doing.

  220. And this evil spirit that was operating said this Jesus I know

  221. and Paul I know, but who are you?

  222. You ain't no different than the person that I know who you to

  223. be. I don't see no change in you.

  224. You're trying to operate a prayer that you haven't used to

  225. change your life. Now you notice it doesn't say

  226. Saul. I know it says Paul.

  227. I know Paul is the chainsaw. I see the human changed by

  228. prayer. I see you believe it.

  229. I know Paul. Paul believes he changes.

  230. Paul's changed through himself, through prayer.

  231. He know. Yeah.

  232. OK, now I'll respond accordingly.

  233. So even the enemy's trying to see whether you let your prayer

  234. change you. Because if you ain't changed,

  235. boom, you're going to run. You got to let your prayer

  236. change you. If you want to prevail in prayer

  237. for others, you got to prevail in prayer for you to be

  238. transformed into the person that God's called you to be first

    1 John 3 chapter mention

  239. John chapter 3 verses 2324. Again, this section is what you

  240. got to let your prayer change you.

  241. First John 3 verses chapter 3 verses 2324 says this.

  242. Whenever our hearts in tormenting self accusation make

  243. us feel guilty and condemn us, we are in God's hands.

  244. It talks about this. You expect if you want to

  245. receive something from God. Understand the thing that will

  246. keep you from receiving is feeling condemned in your heart.

  247. If your heart is condemning you, you won't be able to receive if

  248. you have not let prayer change your heart from a heart of a

  249. condemnation to a heart of being free from guilt, a heart of

  250. walking in the things of God. You will then be undermined in

  251. your prevailing of prayer for others because your heart, who

  252. are you to who are you to keep praying?

  253. This prevailing prayer suggests that there's a time or stand

  254. required, right? So the idea is this enemy come

  255. at you and say, listen, see if he's holy enough.

  256. It would have been done by now. If God had really forgiven you

  257. for that sin you committed, it would have broken through by

  258. now. It's because you still ain't

  259. worthy. See, that's what it is.

  260. That's what's causing it to be quote UN quote delayed, right?

  261. If you have an unworthy heart, you're going to have problems

  262. and prevailing in prayer. That's why you got to let your

  263. prayer work on you and get the condemnation out of you so that

  264. way you can be able to prevail. And Joe 42 five says this.

  265. My eyes had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you.

  266. My ears, my, I think it's in my ears I heard of you, right?

  267. Not my eyes. My ears have.

  268. I had heard of you only by the hearing of the ear.

  269. But now I see you. Now I see you.

  270. See, Joe was doing a bunch of things out of fear.

  271. Many times he was making sacrifice for his kids in case

  272. the weekend came and they got a little turned up too much and

  273. and they got caught up to his sacrifice in fear.

  274. He knew God in a way, but there was a level of fear that was

  275. governing his relationship with God.

  276. And it came to this point after all of the things he'd been

  277. through, he said, you know, I heard of you, but now I see you.

  278. I've been changed. I thought I knew you, but I've

  279. been changed to really know you now, I thought I understood.

  280. I thought the hearing of you was enough.

  281. But I understand now. I got to be able to see who you

  282. are, not just hear who you are. I got to know for myself, not

  283. just what, for what you tell me. That's when transformation comes

  284. and prevailing prayer comes. If you know anything about Job

  285. after this, it was after this point they got restored.

  286. After this, he prayed for his friends and they got restored

  287. after this. His prayer changed him.

  288. First. Don't expect your prayer to

  289. change things if your prayer hasn't changed you.

  290. How much have you let your prayers change you?

  291. How much have you use your prayers to examine your heart,

  292. your pride, your issues, where you are, your fears, your

  293. concerns? How much have you let your

  294. prayers do that? Do you have to be perfect in

  295. doing that? No, but when you have a heart

  296. that's willing to allow your prayers to examine yourself

  297. first, it creates a space of grace.

  298. Then for your prayers to be more effective for others #2 boom,

  299. boom, boom. Come on Danny, I thought you was

  300. with me. Anyway, the next thing for

  301. prevailing prayer is this. You got to have mind fixing,

  302. mind blowing, mind cementing decisions.

  303. You got to have mind fixing, mind blowing, mind cementing

  304. decisions. I'm going to say it one more

  305. time. You got to have mind fixing,

  306. mind blowing, mind cementing decisions.

  307. Your prevailing begins with your decision before you start.

  308. This is a lot of the work right here, a lot of the work of the

  309. believers that get you to this point of having a mind made-up a

  310. mind fixed, a mind blowing. What do I mean by mind blowing?

  311. I mean like man, it don't matter.

  312. Here's here's a mind blowing decision.

  313. Abraham got a son. God said go kill your son

  314. Abraham. Fine, I'm going to go kill him.

  315. He go off the worship to kill him and God has to say Abraham,

  316. Abraham God don't often repeat himself like that.

  317. Apparently Abraham was like I'm killing him because you told me

  318. I'm killing him because you told me Abraham, Abraham.

  319. Oh, OK, Abraham's mind was fit, was so set.

  320. He was like whether the boy live or die don't matter to me.

  321. If he did, he must be going to raise him up.

  322. I don't care. Mind blowing decisions.

  323. His mind was made-up through life or through death.

  324. Another mind blowing decision. Three Hebrew boys.

  325. OK, we would bow down to you if it didn't go against our God.

  326. But we can't do that. We believe our God will deliver

  327. us from this furnace, from this fire.

  328. But even if he doesn't, we still not worship him.

  329. It don't matter life or death, man.

  330. I'm not concerned about it. I'm not concerned about the

  331. outcome. I made-up my mind.

  332. I made-up my mind. Quick testimony, my wife who's

  333. having delivery of this child here and she was in delivery and

  334. was having some difficulties that was going on and, and I and

  335. I was mad at God because it was supposed to be easier.

  336. I was mad at God because I prayed.

  337. I was mad at God. I was struggling because God, I,

  338. I did everything. I saw my men walk around the

  339. block and pray and God go all come down there.

  340. I was doing all of that and she was still, it was difficult.

  341. A lot of stuff was going on and I had a moment where I felt the

  342. enemy and I'd never say I've heard the devil speak to me.

  343. I ain't saying that, but something said to me this Why

  344. don't you just curse God and die, not die.

  345. Why don't you just curse God? That's that was Job's.

  346. Why don't you just curse God? He has forgotten you.

  347. Look at your wife laid up there. He has forgotten you and

  348. forsaken you. Why don't you just curse God?

  349. And in that moment, tears on my face, I said, Lord, I don't

  350. care. My words, whether the baby lives

  351. or dies, I don't care whether my wife lives or dies, I'm still

  352. going to worship you. It's not that I didn't care

  353. whether he died, but I'm saying whether no matter what happens,

  354. I'm going to worship you. My decision is not based on an

  355. outcome. My decision is based on God.

  356. Whatever the outcome and whatever the outcome is, he'll

  357. transform and He'll change it. He'll do something to deal with

  358. it. My job is not to dictate the

  359. outcome. My job is to have a made-up

  360. mind. Mind cementing decisions Once

  361. you make that decision, I have decided who God is.

  362. I have decided that I'm healed. I have decided that he will.

  363. I have decided I'm a tither. I have decided my family shall

  364. be saved. I have decided my my kids will

  365. know the Lord. I have decided.

  366. Once you have decided it, man, it is over.

  367. Once you make that kind of decision and at the moment you

  368. make that decision, here's what is how in my mind's imagination.

  369. Welcome to my imagination. No charge.

  370. It's an E ticket ride. Here's the express pass right

  371. into no anyway. Welcome to my imagination.

  372. Right in my imagination. It's like once you decide that

  373. it's like God says all right, move the entire world into line

  374. to agree with that decision. It's not I decide that I got to

  375. make it happen in my mind. It's like once you make that

  376. decision, they've decided that their family will know the Lord.

  377. All right, cue the change in this country.

  378. Cue the change on that job. Send other people around because

  379. their decision, I'm going to back their decision.

  380. I'm going to back what they said.

  381. They're standing in a place. So I'm going to use all my

  382. power, my authority to move everything.

  383. It's aligned with that. So their decision is true.

  384. I'll give, I'll give you a, a, a picture, father and son picture

  385. for me, it's father and son. I, I except for my daughter too.

  386. But this is the one I'm thinking about my kids in the park before

  387. church. Kids learn how to throw and the

  388. kid is like little kid too dramatic sometimes.

  389. But you know, little kid and little kids trying to throw.

  390. OK, little kid is thrown right there, Little kids throwing

  391. right there. And I'm like, all right, throw

  392. it to me. Throw it to me.

  393. And the kid winds up throwing it like, like over here.

  394. OK, I'm going to give myself a little more room.

  395. I'm like, throw it to me now throw me the ball.

  396. And the kid winds up throwing it over here.

  397. You know what kids throw like that, right?

  398. You know, over here, right? OK, say throw it to me.

  399. And he throws over here who moves?

  400. Dad moves to make it a catch. And then after Dad moves to make

  401. it a catch. Know what he says?

  402. Good job. Just try it again.

  403. You don't say what you're doing, man.

  404. That's crazy, man. Make me run all this far.

  405. No, because you decided to engage.

  406. Everything else begins to move the lineup to ensure that what

  407. you've decided has come to pass. Man, that sounds like

  408. witchcraft. That sounds like pridefulness.

  409. Not when you've decided based on what God has already said.

  410. When you've decided based on His word, all you doing is standing

  411. on what He's already said you can stand on.

  412. Now, if you're trying to decide some stuff that God ain't had no

  413. input on and it's not according to His Word, then you need to

  414. check that. OK?

  415. But if you've decided based on what God has said and this and

  416. this, this is the real thing with relationship and prayer.

  417. Prayer is not this automaton. Yes, I'm a prayer.

  418. Yes, I'm a pray. Yes, I'm a pray.

  419. Thank you very much. I practice those right.

  420. It's not that kind of it's relational.

  421. Lord, listen, I want to make up my mind decide on this.

  422. Lord is that can I do that Lord, would that go against with

  423. something in your word if I decided this like this before

  424. I'm making my decision, I'm consulting the Lord.

  425. Well, I'm ready to get fixed on this.

  426. Lord, I got one verse that helps me, helps me.

  427. Is there any other verses that you think would be helpful for

  428. me that once I make this decision, I can look to those

  429. verses that help guide me? Now you get all of that and then

  430. you say, OK, Lord, you're giving me permission to decide on this

  431. based on your word. So now it's fixed and I'm not

  432. moving. I'm not moving.

  433. A mind fixing, mind blowing, mind cementing decisions.

  434. It's important now that Next up I'm going to 1st Corinthians

  435. 1558. I'd like to give you scriptures

  436. to show you not just making, it's not just air, it's not just

  437. you know. And when I give you scriptures,

  438. when anyone gives scriptures on the platform, we're not trying

  439. to find a scripture that fits us.

  440. We're trying to take a scripture that's in context, representing

  441. exactly the context we're talking about.

  442. Makes sense. So therefore, my beloved

  443. brethren, be firm, steadfast, immovable, always a bounty in

  444. the work of the Lord. Be steadfast, be immovable, have

  445. a made-up mind, have a made-up decision, just have your mind

  446. fixed. Why am I harping on this?

  447. Because this is where people lose out in prayer.

  448. They make up their mind to see if they make up their mind to

  449. try. They don't make up their mind on

  450. the matter. Period.

  451. Regardless of circumstance or outcome.

  452. That's the difference. The absolutes of God next for

  453. prevailing prayer. So 1 you got to let your prayer

  454. change you #2 you got to have a made-up mind and #3 you need to

  455. get into the absolutes of God. The more you deal with the

  456. absolutes of God, the more you will have prevailing prayer.

  457. Why? Because all of your force will

  458. be going towards what you praying about absolutes of God

  459. and this generation absolutes are not looked upon very

  460. favorably. People will say watch out, don't

  461. be dogmatic. Watch out.

  462. You can't have absolutes. Watch out.

  463. No, you got to have some absence if you want to prevail in

  464. prayer. Here's some absolutes, John 17

  465. three. Here's an absolute.

  466. Everyone say absolute good job, good job, good job.

  467. John 17, three, this is Jesus praying and this is eternal

  468. life. It means to know, to perceive,

  469. to recognize, to become equated with and understanding you the

  470. only true and real God. And likewise to know him, Jesus

  471. Christ whom you've sent. You have to have an absolute

  472. understanding of That's what life is.

  473. There is no life except that there is no eternal life.

  474. I'll go far and say there is no life.

  475. This is life. Money is not life.

  476. Family is not life. Marriage is not life.

  477. Ministry is not life. This is life.

  478. When that becomes an absolute in your life, knowing Him is life.

  479. Everything in my desire is to know Him.

  480. Everything I'm doing is to know Him.

  481. Everything I'm believing is to know Him.

  482. I get up to go to work to know Him.

  483. I amend marriage to know Him. I serve to know Him because

  484. knowing Him is life. There is no life apart from

  485. knowing Him. Once you have that as an

  486. absolute, then only abundant life flows out of your life.

  487. There's nothing else that you're using to manipulate or to try to

  488. get life from. John 15, five.

  489. Now here's one. I am the vine as Jesus talking,

  490. I am the vine. You are the branches.

  491. Whoever lives in me and I and Him bears much abundant fruit.

  492. However, apart from me, you can do nothing.

  493. How many people really believe that?

  494. Not, not not coming. Now, you know, we all raise our

  495. hand. That's no problem.

  496. I get it. I'll probably raise my hand too.

  497. Troy, can you get up for me, please?

  498. Now, Detroit, get up. When they spin his Spirit going

  499. apart from you. Jesus, I cannot even get up.

  500. Did you? Did you in your heart, having

  501. made a apart from the Lord? I cannot thank you, Troy.

  502. I cannot dress myself apart from the Lord.

  503. I cannot sit here apart from the Lord.

  504. I can't even breathe. Then I apart from him, I can do

  505. nothing, absolutely nothing. There is nothing I can do.

  506. Well, sure man, I can go out of here, get in my car, drive to

  507. like, you know, Big Mac place, get me a Big Mac and come back.

  508. I don't need God to do that. If that's your mindset, then you

  509. won't prevail in prayer because when you understand this, that

  510. though you don't say you need him for that, the truth is apart

  511. from him you couldn't do that. When you understand apart from

  512. God I could do nothing, then all of your prayers birthed and

  513. breathing on dependence. God, you are the only one who

  514. can do this. You are the only one that can

  515. accomplish this apart from you. God, it cannot be done.

  516. And that's why I trust in you and look to you and believe in

  517. you and expect you to do God, things that other people can't

  518. do apart from you. God, it's not going to happen.

  519. And this is the real challenge of the mindset of North America.

  520. With comfort and ease. God has blessed us to know how

  521. to do a lot of stuff. And because God has given us

  522. wisdom how to do stuff, we think our wisdom is what what serves

  523. US versus apart from God. We can do nothing apart from

  524. God. I don't eat apart from God.

  525. I don't live apart from God. I don't stand here.

  526. I'm not talking about metaphorically, I'm talking

  527. about truly apart from Him. I don't stand here.

  528. That absolute has me wholly dependent on Him.

  529. So when I come to prevail in prayer, if I'm not apart from

  530. Him in anything, then what am I in?

  531. Him and everything, depending in Him and everything, abiding Him

  532. and everything. And if I'm depending on

  533. depending in and abiding Him and everything, then it's He's

  534. interested in what I'm praying about as I am.

  535. He's going to want to see it come to pass as much as I am

  536. apart from Him, I can do nothing.

  537. And for a lot of people, the decision and this kinds of

  538. absolutes. The people you see have God

  539. working on life in amazing ways. They've crossed this threshold.

  540. Now I'm going to tell you sometimes and too often, people

  541. rely on tragedy to get them here.

  542. You don't have to rely on tragedy.

  543. You don't have to rely on you've gotten to the point where all

  544. natural hope seems lost. You can matter of fact.

  545. It's better that you choose it without tragedy, because if you

  546. choose it based on tragedy, then tragedy will have to motivate

  547. all your prayer life. You won't prevail in prayer

  548. unless tragedy exists. But when you choose it for

  549. yourself, you say, God, I'm making a willing sacrifice.

  550. Here's the prayer. I don't know.

  551. I don't know if I believe this. God heard what he said.

  552. I think he's doing too much. But your worry says apart from

  553. you, I can do nothing. God, help me understand how to

  554. live that. Put that in my heart.

  555. God, transform me. God, I can't say that I'm right

  556. there right now. So even in your prayer, you're

  557. asking God to take you to a place where you can come to a

  558. realization that apart from you, Jesus, I can do nothing.

  559. He doesn't have to take everything out of your life to

  560. come to here. He can reveal it to you in his

  561. love. Everyone's absolutes.

  562. Reasonable responses will wreck prevailing prayer.

  563. Good enough will keep you from prevailing.

  564. Reasonable responses will wreck prevailing prayer.

  565. Well, it's better. Mighty woman of God.

  566. I know. I was talking to the other day.

  567. She was saying it's about that. She's talking about somebody she

  568. prayed for and she encouraged this person.

  569. The Bible says that by the stripes of Jesus you are healed,

  570. not better, and you not not partially healed.

  571. By the stripes of Jesus you are healed and made whole.

  572. Reasonable responses will wreck prevailing prayer.

  573. When you really be steady for the settle for the reasonable,

  574. you'll give up the prevailing. As to me and my house, we shall

  575. all serve the Lord I'm not selling at.

  576. Well you know most of my cousins love the Lord.

  577. Well, you know my 5 love the Lord, even know that my other

  578. relatives don't. God, you said, As for me and my

  579. household, we shall serve the Lord.

  580. You said that I shall be saved and my entire household shall be

  581. saved. My household includes my family.

  582. My household includes my servants.

  583. My household includes the people I work with.

  584. My household includes ready my city.

  585. My household includes my country.

  586. God, me and my God, you promised.

  587. And Lord, I'm going to tell you in all reverence, when I cross

  588. this threshold and look you in face to face, I'm going to ask

  589. you, Lord, I'm going to stand before you, Lord.

  590. And I said you promised me and my household, and I believe you

  591. going to tell me this, John, look at how I kept my word.

  592. Here's your household. Now.

  593. I don't want to say gossip. People have free will.

  594. People have free will. Everyone say free will.

  595. God's not going to force anybody in my family to give their lives

  596. to him. He's not.

  597. But God got a secret weapon. Say secret weapon.

  598. No, seek it. And I can't say secret, secret,

  599. secret weapon. You know what a secret weapon

  600. is? His goodness.

  601. God's goodness will cause every man to change their mind.

  602. The issue is, have you got a big enough revelation of his

  603. goodness? OK, what does that mean?

  604. God, my, my uncle, he just tried not to follow Jesus.

  605. He really did. Dug it hard.

  606. How's that going to work? You promised me, me and my

  607. household. How's it work?

  608. Don't worry. Send send £10,000 of goodness

  609. towards him. Turn up the goodness to full

  610. blast. Reveal to him how good I am to

  611. Him. Let him see how good I am to

  612. him. I'm going to open his eyes to

  613. see how good I am to him. I'm going to show him how good I

  614. am to him every day, every week and times pass.

  615. And the times we thought I wasn't with him, I'm going to

  616. cause him to know how good I am. And it's the goodness of God

  617. that will cause people to say, I see who you are and I accept who

  618. you are. Reasonable responses will wreck

  619. prevailing prayer. Last couple sections here,

  620. worthy, unworthy. You got to deal with the worthy,

  621. unworthy thing. It's kind of part of the

  622. decision and and an absolute worthy unworthy.

  623. Are you worthy, not worthy. I already talked about the heart

  624. condemning you. Are you worthy not unworthy?

  625. You got to decide. You can't be prevailing in

  626. prayer but feeling unworthy on the inside.

  627. You can't. It's not going to work that way.

  628. The enemy going to check you if you want to send a word, send a

  629. message, send something worthy or onward.

  630. You got to decide now how you make this decision.

  631. If you make it based on your actions, you always going to

  632. decide unworthy because you not cannot act perfectly.

  633. No one can. You know what worth is

  634. determined by the person who, who's who's paying the price?

  635. Who's buying it. This tile, someone was come and

  636. pay me $500 million for this tile.

  637. You know how much this tile is worth now, $500 million.

  638. Why they set the price? Yeah.

  639. You know, I'm going. You got to decide you're worth

  640. it because the because your father said a price.

  641. He bought you with a price. He bought you with his son.

  642. He said you were worthy. He said you were worthy with the

  643. price he paid. He said you were worthy.

  644. Here's another thing about worth.

  645. Worth is decided by the giver, not the receiver.

  646. If I give choice something I'm already just telling him and

  647. giving it man that you worth receiving this you worth it.

  648. He don't determine whether he worth it or not.

  649. It's my gift. I'm the one that gives it.

  650. The giver determines the worth, not the receiver.

  651. He can be in the worst situation of his life and I can give him a

  652. gift that's that seems to be exceedingly above his situation.

  653. It's not based on how qualified he is for the gift.

  654. It's based on my generosity and my graciousness and giving.

  655. James 18. Now I'm going to go to John.

  656. John, John 1723. John 1723 double minded man is

  657. unstable in all his ways. That's what we're trying to deal

  658. with. But John 1723 says this, this is

  659. Jesus praying again. John 17 second reference I and

  660. them and you and me in order that they may become one and

  661. perfectly united that the world may know and definitely

  662. recognize that you sent me to the praying for unity so the

  663. world can know that Jesus was sent.

  664. You want to get your talent saved.

  665. Walk in unity with believers and that you have loved them as you

  666. have loved me. Do you really believe God loves

  667. you as much as he loves Jesus? There's no difference not one I

  668. order but Jesus was perfect doesn't matter.

  669. It's not based on perfection. It's based on the Father's

  670. deciding who to love. He loves you as much as he loves

  671. Jesus and if you believe he loves you as much as he loves

  672. Jesus. Do you think that his what did

  673. he do in his love for Jesus? If his love is the same, then

  674. his response is the Father is the same.

  675. If you really come to understand that God loves you as much as

  676. you love, but I'm sinful, God loves you as much as he loves

  677. Jesus, but you don't understand it don't matter.

  678. I love you as much as I love Jesus.

  679. Lifting of your worth will allow you to prevail in prayer.

  680. Because when I pray, it's like Jesus praying because God love

  681. him praying the same way he love me praying.

  682. He love me praying same way he love him praying.

  683. You're not looking at Jesus that big Papa prayer and me is purely

  684. prayer. He's saying God, you love me

  685. like you love him and you will answer a prayer in love for me

  686. like you answered a prayer in love for him.

  687. It's according to your love, not according to how perfectly I

  688. have lived. Romans 17 seven says this,

  689. remember, is that 17/7 at 16 seven?

  690. Look like I'm reading the side like that on the screen back

  691. there. Is that 17 seven?

  692. I think that's 16 seven. I'm going to take a little time

  693. with this one. Was on 16 chapters.

  694. Or maybe it's Romans 6-7. Maybe it's Romans 77.

  695. Yeah, probably looks more like a seven or eight.

  696. Try 7 or 87. What you're doing?

  697. I'm prevailing. Sometimes prevailing is just

  698. doing this. It's just not backing up.

  699. You know, prevailing prayer is OK.

  700. When you take a pause and rest, you still prevailing because

  701. you're not backing up. But what if it takes some time

  702. and you back up? You're still prevailing.

  703. Why? Because you can have another

  704. chance to run at it. Elder Brett, you can give me the

  705. verse so you can get it up there.

  706. Romans. Paul's talking about this.

  707. He's talking about doubt now that he's come to come to life

  708. in Christ. OK, He says.

  709. The sin you see operating, it ain't me, but it's sin working

  710. in me. Paul says this.

  711. It's not me. I've been born again, but it's

  712. sin working in me. 77 Romans 77 it's sin working in me.

  713. Come on now, it's not me. It's sin working in me.

  714. It's not me is sin working in me.

  715. You are not your sin. You are not your sin.

  716. Your sin doesn't make you unworthy, it just makes you have

  717. to deal with it. You.

  718. I'm not saying sin. It's OK to say I'm not saying

  719. that. What I'm saying is when you look

  720. at your identity as sin, you will always feel unworthy and

  721. God is saying you are not your sin.

  722. Put this way, my kid come in Adam snowboard and he snowed and

  723. there's snow all on him and he come up in the house and he'd be

  724. all slowed up. OK.

  725. The snow is not my son. Better picture, kids comes home,

  726. he kids dirty in the mud. Do I look at him and say you

  727. muddy dirty kid depart or do I say, no, no, that's my son, mud

  728. just on him. My son is still worthy.

  729. It's just mud is just on him. I'm going to love him even with

  730. the dirt on him because my son is still there.

  731. We'll get the mud cleaned up. We'll get the mud washed off.

  732. We'll we'll transform that situation understanding that I

  733. am not my sin allows you that if you have to go fall in a place

  734. or whatever you ask God for forgiveness and you stand before

  735. God and you can pray with prevailing prayer.

  736. Can you know when the enemy comes.

  737. Well, you know what you know that counsel you out.

  738. You know eight years ago. Well, you know, brother, I am

  739. not my sin that got to do with that.

  740. My prevailing prayer got to do with who I am and him and I can

  741. still prevail in prayer period. Now the problem with sin is that

  742. if you kept sneaky sin, your heart going to be condemned.

  743. You won't be condemning yourself.

  744. Who might be praying for them when I know I ain't checking

  745. myself, right? That's why you deal with sins

  746. and your heart can have confidence when you pray, but

  747. your sin has never kept you from prevailing from God's

  748. standpoint. He sees you through Jesus.

  749. The last one is importunity. It was an importunity.

  750. That's the King James Version, King James word.

  751. The subtitle is the Press of presence, The Press of presence.

  752. Luke 18, one through 7. Let's go.

  753. Let's go to verse 4. Let's go to verse 4, Luke 18,

    Luke 18:4

  754. verse 4. You know what's really

  755. interesting? Learning how to prevail is not

  756. to hit him and quit him. It's not a tickle you and let

  757. you leave learning how to prevail.

  758. It take a time, it takes commitment, it takes

  759. understanding, it takes listening, it takes application,

  760. it takes focus and for a time he would not So this woman at

  761. Pastor Terence talked about this in this in this message, this

  762. widow's knocking said let me tell you about Jesus.

  763. Let me tell you about praying. You got the widow knocking, the

  764. widow's knocking, right? And he says for a time this

  765. unjust judge would not respond. But later he said to himself,

  766. though I have neither reverence or fear for God, nor respect or

  767. consideration for man, keep going.

  768. Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and

  769. protect and avenge her. The lesson is this, this woman's

  770. continual bothering. Hear me knocking continual

  771. bothering, we'll make it even an unjust judge give her justice.

  772. Don't quit. Pray without ceasing, don't quit

  773. because if an unjust judge is going to respond to that

  774. continuing, surely a just and good father's going to respond.

  775. OK, but I subtitled this section here.

  776. The Press of presents go back to that last break didn't say

  777. because this widow continues to knock.

  778. She continues to bother me. You know, something that really

  779. bothers me, I'm watching the football game as a critical

  780. point in time. And then someone who I know has

  781. got an interrupting spirit on them, they just come and sit in

  782. the room. They don't say nothing.

  783. I'm like, they're just being there.

  784. They're just being there. What, What, what, what, what,

  785. what, what, what we going to do? I have to get back to the game.

  786. What we going to do right this knocking, this continuing the

  787. press is not just about what you vocally do.

  788. It's about your standing, your posture.

  789. It's about your being present. God, if I don't say nothing, I'm

  790. just going to rest here in in this in this prayer rest here in

  791. this prevailing right now. God, I'm going to keep my hands

  792. on you as I know that you're really doing the work.

  793. It's not about how much I'm always talking about what I'm

  794. asking for. It's not how much I'm always

  795. vocalizing. It's like God, I made-up my mind

  796. and my spirit God that I'm going to stand till I see it.

  797. So whenever you see me, I'm going to be present in that

  798. prayer with you. God, it's not just about what

  799. you say. Sometimes you think I can't

  800. prevail because my, my voice runs out.

  801. God knows that. Just be present in faith, in

  802. trust. You ever seen somebody would

  803. have made-up mine? You ever seen a picture this?

  804. I'm going to close with this. Thank you for your patience.

  805. This picture, right? Bull matadors I got, I'm not

  806. trying to talk about animal abuse or anything like that at

  807. all, but a picture of a cartoon I have when I was growing up as

  808. a kid. And when a bull did this, that

  809. means, oh, he's getting ready to charge, right?

  810. The bull didn't say nothing. The bull just postured himself

  811. and everybody knew they meant business.

  812. Give me a chair. I'm have Troy come and be the

  813. Lord. Stand up.

  814. Be the Lord. Yeah.

  815. Watch. This is importunity.

  816. This is pressing. This is not giving up.

  817. Now go ahead and move. You done my presence before him

  818. continually puts a press on him to the point where I say

  819. nothing. Like man.

  820. What you want? What can I do?

  821. How can I respond? Thank you.

  822. How can I respond? Be present.

  823. How do you be present? God, I love you.

  824. God, I worship you. God, I know you are faithful.

  825. God, I know you are faithful. I know you're good.

  826. I know you're always good. God, I trust you.

  827. God arrest in you. The circumstance is like, look

  828. at your cousin, he's still out there.

  829. God, I trust you. God, I know you're at work.

  830. God, I know you're doing it. God, I'm going to stand before

  831. you, God, and let you take care of that versus be focused on

  832. that and continue to bring that issue to you.

  833. We've talked about it. You know what you need to do.

  834. God, I just thank you. I'm going to continue to watch

  835. you even more than watching to see that change.

  836. You do that and you'll change. And in changing you, your

  837. perspective about your situation will change and then everything

  838. changes. If you want to prevail in

  839. prayer, you got to begin to let prayer change you.

  840. So I want to have us responding this way.

  841. You can come get this. Take some time to pray right

  842. now. I'd encourage you to.

  843. It's not a requirement. We don't force people to do

  844. stuff here. But I encourage you to take some

  845. time to pray right now and say, God change me.

  846. God, give me the kind of prayer life that changes how I see you.

  847. God, let me be mindful to pray in ways that changes how I see

  848. you. Change me, God, to see you for

  849. who you are. Change me God, to see me for how

  850. you really love me. Change me, God, to see how much

  851. you care for me. Change me, God, to see how you

  852. don't see me as my sin. You see me as your son, Jesus,

  853. taking care of my sin. Change me God.

  854. Change me, O Lord, to see I even when I do sin, Jesus is already

  855. forgiven and there's a blood that watches and cleanses

  856. through repentance and a full turn towards you God, and it's

  857. taken care of. Change me to see that even that

  858. won't get in the way. Change me God, to have a mate of

  859. mind. Change me, God, to really come

  860. to a place of knowing that apart from You, I can do nothing.

  861. God, I don't even know if that's possible, but because it says it

  862. in your scriptures, God changed me.

  863. God, I'm nervous for you to change me like that because it

  864. may require changes in my lifestyle.

  865. I may have to do different things, even good things.

  866. God, I've always talked about people getting too over the edge

  867. with you and I don't want to be one of them extreme people.

  868. I've had church hurt my parents with Christian folk that came

  869. home to argue and beat us and abused us.

  870. God, I'm confused about what it means to be apart from you.

  871. I can do nothing, but I'm willing to let you come in and

  872. change me to agree and line up with that if that's possible.

  873. I'm nervous, I'm scared. I don't know what it means.

  874. I don't know if I can. But you're not even asking me to

  875. do it in my ability, God. You're just asking me to be

  876. available and say God do it in me.

  877. God, I want to be able to prevail in prayer, not for just

  878. for things. I want to be a prevailing prayer

  879. for people that hurt you and they need you.

  880. I want to be a prevailing prayer for a city that's lost and don't

  881. know it's lost. I don't be able to prevail in

  882. prayer for people who've been hurt God and you're the only

  883. hope of healing for them. God, I want to prevail in prayer

  884. to see sons and daughters come home and get to know you.

  885. God, as a father, God, I want to be able to prevail in prayer so

  886. people can know what you've experienced.

  887. The same thing you've done in my life.

  888. God, I'm, you've saved my life. I want to be able to prevail in

  889. prayer so people can know you, so we can have joy in our city.

  890. I want to prevail in prayer for the kids who have no hope and

  891. bodies are broken and busted. I want to prevail in prayer for

  892. the churches that feel that come to church every week but they

  893. don't have a touch or a kiss from God.

  894. God, I want to be able to prevail in prayer, God, so when

  895. we come home to you, we bring a whole family with us.

  896. I want to be able to prevail in prayer, God, to see your Kingdom

  897. come in the earth and your will be done in the earth.

  898. So change me. Let my prayers change me first

  899. so I can then prevail in prayer for others to be changed the

  900. same way. And when God, that is my posture

  901. in prayer. Whenever I'm praying for others

  902. to, I know they will be changed first, even before they receive

  903. the answer to the prayer I'm praying.

  904. And at the end of the day, God, that's what's most important in

  905. Jesus name, Amen. Thank you so much for tuning
