  1. He love Venture Church. Happy Independence weekend? Have you had

  2. a great Independence weekend? Pretty amazing? Two hundred and fifty

  3. years and summer is officially here in the Pacific Northwest.

  4. Do not worry. I will not keep these glasses on

  5. for very long. But I just had to get my

  6. outfit together as everyone was very patriotic up here. I

  7. just realized that I love our nation and I am

  8. thankful for America. We have some progress to make right.

  9. We are not fully there, but we have come a

  10. long way. And so my prayer is that God would

  11. heal our land and that this is still a place

  12. that we can gather freely and worship the Lord. So

  13. can you put your hands together? For two hundred and

  14. fifty years? Well, if I haven't met you yet, my

  15. name's Eileen, and I am the small group's pastor on

  16. our ventured team, and I love what we are doing

  17. here in this house. Is you heard, Pastor Brandon. There

  18. are so many exciting things that are happening here, so

  19. many transitions because God is moving and we're glad that

  20. you're a part of it. We're glad that you're here today.

  21. I just want to say a big shout out to

  22. our pastors who Pastor Brandon and a pastor Die, such

  23. amazing visionary leaders. I'm very grateful to be under your leadership.

  24. I've known them for thirty five plus years. I'm saying,

  25. I know we look pretty good. And really, our hope

  26. adventure is that this is not just a place that

  27. you attend, but this is where you belong. This is

  28. where you get to grow, grow in relationship with God

  29. and grow in relationship with each other. So if you

  30. are not connected in a small group, I'm your girl.

  31. You need to connect with me. I want to see

  32. you grow in friendship and relationship with other people. Today

  33. we are starting our series, as Pastor Brandon mentioned, and

  34. it is about more more, and we are talking about

  35. the Holy Spirit. And this is my prayer as we begin.

  36. You know, Hamy said, yes, I want more of God's

  37. truth in my life. I want more of God. I

  38. want more clarity, I want more wisdom. I want more

  39. of Him. But what if today, as I preach this message,

  40. that the more that we are talking about is indicative

  41. about you giving him more view that you draw closer

  42. to him. It is more of your heart that you give,

  43. It is more of your time, and so that's my prayer,

  44. that He would start a fresh fire in us and

  45. that he would ignite the passion of Jesus, and that

  46. would be the thing that we do this summer. Come on.

  47. Summer may be about laying back, but I want you

  48. to lean in for these next few weeks and just

  49. dive into what Holy Spirit may want to show you,

  50. what God's presence may want to show you. Jesus would

  51. say that you have ears to hear and ey Sissy,

  52. that God would give us the ability to hear him,

  53. see him and know him. Would you pray with me? Father,

  54. We just thank you for your presence. We don't take

  55. that for granted. It's such a privilege to be able

  56. to worship you, to honor you. We love you. We

  57. ask God that you would help me get out of

  58. the way. And Lord, say what you want to say

  59. to us today. Maybe there was someone in this room

  60. that you saw walking in. I want you right now

  61. to lift up a prayer for them. If someone stood out,

  62. go ahead and lift up a prayer, ask God to

  63. touch them, and then ask God to touch you, that

  64. he would open up your heart and that you would receive.

  65. And lastly, would you say a prayer for me, that

  66. I would just be on assignment, that I would do

  67. exactly what Holy Spirit, what God's presence wants. Today. Lord,

  68. we're so grateful. We lean into you lead us. We

  69. pray all these things in Jesus' name. Come on. Everybody

  70. said amen, come on, everybody said amen. All right, here's

  71. the rule. You don't want me to be boring. Don't

  72. you be boring? So if there is truth that is

  73. ignited in you and you are passionate about it, I

  74. need you to talk back. I need you to say

  75. come on, I need you to say, yes, it is something.

  76. It come on. It is something about just responding to

  77. what God wants to do. And as we open up

  78. this scripture, I just I just feel like that is

  79. what God wants. Well, let me start off by telling

  80. you that it was many years ago. As I have

  81. four grown children, these homegrown children are a blended family,

  82. and if I could ever tell you the story, it's

  83. pretty amazing about what God has done in my life.

  84. But it was decades back that I was an expectant

  85. mom and there I was, she was about to be

  86. my first born, and I had decorated the room, I

  87. had set the furniture. I even knew what pictures I

  88. wanted for family pictures. I had prepared the place and

  89. I was just almost a few weeks out before I

  90. would be holding her. And I got a call during

  91. that time from my mother in law, Mother Hunter. Now

  92. Mother Hunter picked up the phone and she asked how

  93. I was doing. And I could hear this uncertainty in

  94. her voice. And with that uncertainty, of course, I leaned

  95. in and I said, well, what's wrong? And she is

  96. from the Detroit area and she had a mention to

  97. me that her home had gotten broken into again. So

  98. she said, when I come out to visit the baby

  99. and to be there, would it be okay if I

  100. don't just visit but I stay? And I said, She said,

  101. you just think about it, you pray on it, and

  102. you get back to me. I just I remember leaning

  103. back and thinking, God, what are you? What are you doing?

  104. My home is so tiny and here I was preparing

  105. a place for our little one, and that other room

  106. is now gonna be forfeited. And I thought, God, I'm

  107. not so sure I feel comfortable with what you're doing.

  108. Have you ever been in that space where God just

  109. shows up in the middle of your journey, in the

  110. middle of your situation, and you just kind of feel like,

  111. I'm not so sure about this God. But God instead

  112. of us, you know, just kind of disregarding something because

  113. we cannot fully embrace something. God says, lean in, trust me.

  114. I want to take you on a journey. I just

  115. need you to trust me, Eileen and I did as

  116. we jump into our scriptures. I just believe. But that

  117. is the big question that we have. Are we willing

  118. to make room for more of God's influence of our

  119. in our lives? And that more takes me to our

  120. text today, I'm gonna be talking about fresh fire, welcoming

  121. the person of the Holy Spirit. Well who is the

  122. Holy Spirit? And maybe you're like in one of two camps,

  123. because that's normally how it goes. We talk about fresh

  124. fire and we talk about the Holy Spirit, and you're like,

  125. come on, let's go, let's do this thing. We want passion,

  126. we want fire, we want God to manifest. Maybe that's

  127. the camp you're in, And maybe I believe that there

  128. are some of us here in this camp that we're

  129. not quite sure. We're kind of like me and my

  130. mother in law. Maybe you're familiar stranger and you can't

  131. just quite wrap your brain around. Well. I get God

  132. the Father, I get God the Son, But Holy Spirit,

  133. I mean, who is he? Is he? Come on? Is

  134. he a dove? Is he fire? Is he wind? Is

  135. he a flowing river? Who is Holy Spirit? And in

  136. those spaces oftentimes we just say, you know what, say

  137. that for somebody else? I just that feels kind of weird.

  138. Have you ever met some weird Christians? You may be

  139. sitting near one. I get it. But here's the thing is,

  140. people can be weird, but God is not weird. And

  141. that's what we want to unpack today. Is he a dove?

  142. Is he a fire? Is he wind? Is he a

  143. river flowing up inside of you?

  144. Well?

  145. These are manifestations, these are metaphors, These are figures of speech.

  146. But the Holy Spirit just comes down gently like a dove,

  147. that he is like a fire consuming things in our lives,

  148. that he is like a wind that we cannot contain,

  149. that he it is like a river flowing inside that

  150. brings refreshing. These are just manifestations, These are metaphors, These

  151. are figures of speech. We say Jesus is the bread

  152. of life. Do we think he's a low for bread. No,

  153. and we say that we are the salt of the earth.

  154. And here is the reality, is that the Holy Spirit.

  155. He is not this energy, and he is not this

  156. force that we harness. He is not an it. He

  157. is Deity. He is God. And in the scriptures it

  158. reveals to us this. We're gonna jump right into the text.

  159. It says this, and John fifteen. You can look on

  160. the screen or you can open your bible, but it

  161. says that if you love me, keep my commands, and

  162. I will give you another advocate to help you and

  163. be with you forever, the Spirit of Truth. The world

  164. cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him.

  165. But you you know him because he will live, He

  166. will be with you, and he will live in you.

  167. And this isn't a moment where the Jesus is talking

  168. to the disciples. This is called the Upper Room discourse.

  169. And in this moment it's John chapter fourteen, John chapter fifteen,

  170. and John chapter sixteen. These are the last moments that

  171. Jesus has on earth. So you know, these are good

  172. heart to heart conversations that he's having with the disciples,

  173. and he reveals to them because he knows that they

  174. can't quite wrap their mind around what God is doing

  175. and who Holy Spirit is and what you're saying. I

  176. thought this was going to kind of turn out different. God,

  177. are you with me? You walk in your life and

  178. you say, God, I'm sure you got my memo. This

  179. was definitely not what I thought this was gonna look like.

  180. I didn't think my marriage was gonna go like this.

  181. I didn't think I would be graduating and not know

  182. what to do for a job. I just didn't realize

  183. that this is what you wanted to do. And there

  184. were the disciples. They were in there. They were distressed,

  185. they were sorrowful. But Jesus says, hold up, don't worry.

  186. I'm about to go to heaven. And they were kind

  187. of like what And in that moment, he says, but

  188. I've promised you this gift from heaven, this Holy Spirit,

  189. and Holy Spirit will come, and he says he will

  190. be another advocate. Come, I'll say another, Come, I'll say another.

  191. The word another there means not another of a different kind,

  192. but it's the Greek word alos, which means another of

  193. the same kind. He says, when you see Holy Spirit,

  194. you are gonna see me he's gonna represent me. You

  195. know how I showed you the Father, and that's what

  196. Jesus did. He says, you are going to see Holy

  197. Spirit another advocate, but he is going to testify. He's

  198. gonna say the exact same thing I'm saying. You know

  199. how I was a teacher and a rabbi and a

  200. coach and a mentor. He says, I'm gonna show up.

  201. But Holy Spirit he's gonna do exactly the same thing.

  202. The Father will send him to you. He comes from eternity,

  203. So this help that you're getting, it will come from Heaven.

  204. And it's such a great relief to know that God

  205. sees us on the journey, no matter what we're struggling with,

  206. no matter what we're facing. And he says, hold up,

  207. I've got you. In order for you to get through this,

  208. you're going to have to lean in and receive what

  209. I have for you. So he says, I'm gonna say,

  210. and you another advocate. So is Holy Spirit just junior God?

  211. Is he a dove? Is he a fire? Is he

  212. a win? No? He is fully God in every way.

  213. He is fully God. And here's the deal is that

  214. they didn't realize that when he showed up that he's

  215. been there all along. There's something that we call the Trinity.

  216. And I know it's not a word that you find

  217. in the scriptures, but it's the concept. It's the theology

  218. that says that there is one God and enrolled in

  219. three persons. There are three different roles. We have God

  220. the Father, we have God the Son, and we have

  221. God the that's right. So he was there at the

  222. moment of creation when God said in the beginning, and

  223. the earth was formless and it was dark, and it says,

  224. the Spirit of God have and that word spirit is

  225. the rock of God. It means it is the breath

  226. of God. It is the spirit of God. God was

  227. there in the beginning. We see him when Mary is

  228. told the good news and it says, the Holy Spirit

  229. will overshadow you. He will be there, and Jesus comes

  230. to us. We see him in the ministry of Jesus

  231. when he's about to embark on the mission of God.

  232. It is the Holy Spirit as they come to the

  233. Jordan River and the heavens open up and Jesus comes,

  234. and it's the Holy Spirit descending like a that's right,

  235. gentle and peaceful, but he rests on him. Jesus goes

  236. on to say, as he continues to do the work

  237. of ministry, that he does it all with the presence

  238. of the Holy Spirit. He said, the spirit of the

  239. Lord is upon me and he has anointed me. So

  240. he wasn't doing anything without Holy Spirit. Why should we?

  241. He was telling the disciples, this is so important that

  242. he is fully God. This is not a junior God,

  243. and this is not a manifestation, this is not an entity.

  244. That he is fully God. But he is also distinctly

  245. his own person in the Trinity. It is important for

  246. us to know that the Holy Spirit has a personality.

  247. A person is attributed three things, a mind, a will,

  248. and emotion, and we see this throughout the scriptures. The

  249. scriptures declare that the Holy Spirit searches the mind of God,

  250. so he knows exactly what God is thinking in that

  251. awesome and he's been given to us to help us.

  252. He says that he has a will. In the early Church,

  253. they would consult with the Holy Spirit and they'd say

  254. it was good for us and the Holy Spirit that

  255. we do this. The Holy Spirit also said, hey set

  256. apart Barnabas for me Barnabas and Silas for the work,

  257. and they said that this was the Holy Spirit. So

  258. he has a will, he has a mission, and he

  259. has emotions. You can grieve the Holy Spirit. You can

  260. know that he can be lied to and it won't

  261. go well with us, But you know that the Holy

  262. Spirit has emotions. He has things that stir him, that

  263. call him to come. And here's the reality is that

  264. is all a part of who God is. He is God.

  265. He's not weird. There is a mystery because we are

  266. human and he is divine. We can't wrap around everything,

  267. but we can wrap around what God revealed his scripture,

  268. and we see that in his scripture he reveals who

  269. he is. So now he's telling the Holy Spirit is

  270. telling the disciple, I mean Jesus is telling the disciples.

  271. He's saying this to them. I have an advocate, another advocate,

  272. and he will be a helper to you. Come on.

  273. I want you to turn to your neighbor and say

  274. help is here. Turn to your other neighbor and say

  275. help is here. It is closer than we think. It's

  276. closer than we think. Sometimes some of us right now,

  277. at this very moment, are struggling to push through the

  278. situation that we're facing, whether that's an intersection where we

  279. have to have faith to keep going, to take another step,

  280. to keep on moving. And God is saying I've got

  281. the help and it comes from Heaven. He says he

  282. is an advocate. He is the Promised Helper. That word

  283. advocate is the Greek word from the original language that

  284. means barah, which means come alongside, and gletos, which means

  285. to really that he is called to a specific role.

  286. So the Holy Spirit has a specific role of how

  287. he can help you. So it's okay to welcome him

  288. into our lives, to lean in to receive why because

  289. we can trust God, we can trust what Jesus said,

  290. we can trust the word. And so he says that

  291. he is the Promised Helper. But he doesn't stop there.

  292. He goes on to say, I've got to tell you

  293. this that he's also the Spirit of truth. The Holy

  294. Spirit is the spirit of truth. Aren't you lad in

  295. a world of ai when it's really hard to discern

  296. what is real and what is true, that we can

  297. have the truth. You know, we live in a day

  298. and age where if it's true for you, then it's true.

  299. But that word true. When Jesus was speaking to his disciples,

  300. he was saying that this is a truth that won't

  301. lead you astray. It is consistently dependable. That word truth

  302. means reliable. And do you know that we live in

  303. a day and age where our social feed, even our

  304. news feed. Absolutely it is frustrating to figure out what

  305. is opinion and what is truth. And the reality is

  306. that God wants to shape your story. Oftentimes we say

  307. that we have our truth, but in reality we're saying

  308. that it's our narrative, our story, our emotions, it's how

  309. I feel. But how many of you know your feelings

  310. can be real, but they aren't always true. And what

  311. I mean by that is sometimes, like let's just say

  312. you go at work or you're here at church and

  313. someone just walks by and you kind of feeling overlooked,

  314. You're feeling rejected, You're feeling like, hey, what's up. I'm

  315. not chop liver, I'm trying to get your attention. You

  316. just walked right on by me. Should I say something

  317. to them? And you're having all these things happening inside

  318. of you, And really what's true is that they were focused.

  319. They had to get a job done. They were moving

  320. ahead and they didn't mean anything by it. You see

  321. what I'm saying that sometimes we rely so much on

  322. our feelings, but our feelings can't be the compass to

  323. what is true. So Jesus says, hey, let me tell

  324. you what is really true. You're gonna find it in

  325. the Spirit of truth. And why are you gonna find

  326. it in the Spirit of truth? Because he is gonna

  327. say exactly what I say. The Holy Spirit will represent me.

  328. He is not weird. You open up the book. He

  329. is gonna have the character that you find in the Word,

  330. you are gonna find it in Holy Spirit. It's awesome.

  331. He doesn't go on a tangent. He is not weird

  332. and spooky. He may manifest in moments that go beyond

  333. what our human mind has the capacity to take in,

  334. but those moments are places where we lean in, we trust,

  335. we receive why because the Holy Spirit is the game changer.

  336. The Holy Spirit will change who you are from the

  337. inside out, and there's nothing like it. You can't will yourself,

  338. you can't make it happen. You can't get around certain

  339. folks to create an atmosphere. It is the work of

  340. the Holy Spirit. He is the game changer. He changes

  341. who we become as we become followers, as we live

  342. in Christ. Have you ever watched the reality game Survivor?

  343. How many Survivor fans here? Yeah? Season fifty. I had

  344. to check out on that one because I really get

  345. to like honed in and my family does watch Survivor.

  346. But this is what Jesus look to the disciples, and

  347. this is what he says. He says, it is to

  348. your advantage that I go in the game Survivor. There

  349. it is about contestants being dropped off on an island.

  350. They build their fire, they build, they get gather their food,

  351. they compete in challenges, they go into tribal council. But

  352. when a contestant gets the secret advantage, this is what happens.

  353. They have the ability to be protected. Not everybody is

  354. privy to know what they know, and this is the

  355. advantage that they get to go to the next round

  356. with the information that they know. Don't you know that

  357. Holy Spirit looked at the disciples and he looks at

  358. us and he says, it's to your advantage that you

  359. receive him. He will give you the insider information of

  360. how I feel, what I would do in this moment,

  361. the Holy Spirit is the game changer. This is what

  362. I want you to know. That he is God, that

  363. he has a role, he's a person in the Trinity,

  364. that he is our advocate and our helper, and I

  365. like to say he's a coach. I remember being on

  366. the track team and realizing, you know, I was a

  367. sprinter and most of you ladies know that my sport

  368. of choice is cheerleading, but I did play track and

  369. I did run track. Excuse me, I did track and

  370. field throughout my high school years. And I remember the

  371. coach just pulling me alongside and their star player was

  372. not going to be able to make it for a

  373. couple of meets, so she tried to train me to

  374. run her race. And I was the kind of person

  375. I was on the blox, I was like exploding, go

  376. come on, and it's fifty yards. I'm just I'm getting

  377. to the finish line quick. But she was trying to

  378. train me for the four hundred, where I would have

  379. to take the lap all the way around. And I

  380. realized when I had the gun went off and I

  381. had to go that it was the voice of the

  382. coach that got me to the finish line. Now, the

  383. coach wasn't running the race for me. But what I

  384. heard in my heart, in my mind was keep your form,

  385. and when those legs get heavy, keep pumping, And when

  386. your lungs feel like exploding, keep breathing, keep breathing, keep

  387. breathing all the way to the finish line. And that's

  388. how it is with our coach, the Holy Spirit. He

  389. has these heart to heart conversations. Why because when we

  390. accept Jesus into our heart, he is the one that

  391. makes his residence. Ephesians one three says he takes up

  392. residence in us. Now we are not God, but we

  393. have the Holy Spirit who gives us truth and helps us.

  394. Isn't it so beautiful? I know for some of you

  395. are like, wait a second, I thought Jesus was in

  396. your heart. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father.

  397. The Holy Spirit represents Jesus. He is the one that

  398. makes Jesus famous. And this is how he does it.

  399. And this is what I want you to understand. That

  400. the Holy Spirit has the power to convict, He confirms,

  401. and he carries, He does all these things in our lives.

  402. And we're going to walk through these next several weeks

  403. learning about the Holy Spirit. But I want you to

  404. know that the Holy Spirit in the scripture found in

  405. John sixteen eight, it says, this are you with me?

  406. And when he comes, he will convict the world of sin.

  407. This is the reality. You and I do not recognize sin.

  408. We were born in a world of darkness, and our

  409. culture will lead us further from God if we let it.

  410. Even ourselves, we can move in the direction that's opposite

  411. from what God has until the Holy Spirit puts the

  412. spotlight on the thing that's separating you from God. And

  413. that's what Holy Spirit does. He brings the spotlight and

  414. shows you and I that sin actually is destructive. We

  415. don't see it. I remember a time when I left

  416. a gallon of milk in the back seat of my

  417. car I came from the groceries, and a week later

  418. I could smell her. Here's the reality is. We don't

  419. see sin for what it is. We don't see that

  420. that late night conversation or hanging out or that habit

  421. or going to that karaoke, whatever it may be, that

  422. it could be an open door and we really don't

  423. recognize it till Holy Spirit puts the spotlight on it.

  424. This is what Holy Spirit does. He convicts the world

  425. of unbelief. He reveals what sin conceals. The Holy Spirit

  426. doesn't stop there. He then begins to illuminate and in

  427. your life and in my life. He shows up, takes

  428. residents and he starts, you know, kind of rearranging the

  429. furniture in your life, and all of a sudden, that attitude.

  430. He goes, oh no, don't do that. That's enough, don't

  431. say that. And the reason he does that is because

  432. he brings for the spirit of Christ and he illuminates

  433. what is true. Sometimes you get up here and you

  434. or sometimes you're in a service and you're like, oh

  435. my gosh. Pastor Brandon is talking like who put a

  436. bug in my house? When he's preaching the gold. When

  437. he's preaching, it's like about me. That's Holy Spirit just

  438. illuminating things so that you and I can do this. Lastly,

  439. he illuminates on the inside, so that we're kind of

  440. like that house that you see in the dark in

  441. a world that's dark, and you look at the house

  442. at night and you see the lights on because the

  443. light's happening on the inside, and that's good. But Holy

  444. Spirit then takes and he extends the light, and he

  445. brightens up who we are because he wants to illuminate

  446. things in our life, because he wants to extend the

  447. love of Jesus through you. He does this. And we

  448. heard last week about how Holy Spirit there's over two

  449. thousand people group of people that are on our watch

  450. that have not heard the gospel. And I know those

  451. people are across the seas, but how about the people

  452. across your street? How are the people in your house?

  453. And what Holy Spirit begins to show you is that

  454. I bear witness of Jesus, but you too are a witness,

  455. and he begins to show you something that is so beautiful.

  456. He puts you on God's mission. You live a missional

  457. life where you serve and the gifts that He's given

  458. you is not just about you. It's about other people

  459. and extending the love of Jesus to them. I want

  460. everybody in this place to stand. You know, Mother Hunter,

  461. she ended up coming to live with us. She took

  462. the baby's room, the baby stayed in our room, and

  463. it was okay. But what was amazing was I was

  464. up and close and personal with my mother in law.

  465. I never knew this about her you know, she lived

  466. in Detroit, and she was she was born right at

  467. the brink of the depression, and she walked through in Michigan, Detroit,

  468. Michigan Jim Crow Laws. And she was an African American woman,

  469. so she knew what it was to feel overlooked, rejected, misunderstood.

  470. She knew what it was to feel hate. What I

  471. saw about her that impacted my life so greatly was

  472. the these prayers that she would write. They were called

  473. her Jesus prayers. And when she was in her eighties,

  474. because we only had her three more years, I wouldn't

  475. have known that she got to see all her grandchildren

  476. before she went home to be with the Lord. And

  477. I wouldn't have known that. But these Jesus prayers, she

  478. would personally hand them out, This eighty year old black

  479. woman would hand them out to anybody. She didn't care

  480. if you had a three piece suit, and she didn't

  481. care if you wore a burca at a doctor's office,

  482. at a park, at church. And over three hundred and

  483. ninety two of those letters went out. And it was

  484. because what God had for her could not be contained

  485. just for herself. Holy Spirit wanted to fan a flame

  486. and ignite something in her that would touch other people.

  487. And that's what I want to encourage you today. What

  488. does Holy Spirit want to say to you? Does he

  489. want to put the spotlight on something? Could he possibly

  490. want to convict us of something, let's welcome it. Or

  491. does he want to illuminate something, convince you and give

  492. you confidence to know you can do it. Keep breathing,

  493. keep going, I'm telling you, or possibly Holy Spirit could

  494. be saying, listen your life. This gift I've given you

  495. is to serve this community, and I want you to

  496. do it. I want you to get the courage to

  497. go ahead and talk to that person. Just encourage them.

  498. I don't need you to break down theology for them,

  499. just love them and show them that you care. And then, really,

  500. Holy Spirit wants to do all those things. And I

  501. want to invite you back to our question, are you

  502. willing to make room? Yes, more of God, but Lord,

  503. you get more of me, You get more of me.

  504. I've asked Pastor David to lead us into this worship song,

  505. and I want to invite the presence of God. Holy Spirit,

  506. who is completely God wants to come and help and

  507. shine the light on us. Would you join us in

  508. this worship song.

  509. Let us speak, Come ooh awhere of your prescience. The

  510. hd us six feeds big gluio you good. Bid us speak,

  511. Come ooh awhere of your friendssens. Let us six feed

  512. big glio your good theyde us speak, Come oo the

  513. way of your friendssis.

  514. Let's see seed become your goods. Yet a speaker aware

  515. of your grassis, let us six seeds. The speaker go

  516. the way of your friends. Taste the six seeds in

  517. theoria your specause.

  518. The speaker, you go away, love.

  519. Your grand give the first you come six because a

  520. good whisper your speak confidents place the sho god is

  521. lost to be by your speak confidences place.

  522. Shore gods the cock.

  523. To become by your facist who speaker there, speaker, love

  524. your dreads. There's six speeds there a speaker, look your dreads.

  525. There's six seeds.

  526. In the first service, as Eileen was preaching, the Lord

  527. is kind of downloading on me. And I'm frantically in

  528. the margin of my Bible sketching out notes for the

  529. message that I'm gonna preach next week. But I want

  530. to tell you the story where you're gonna see who

  531. someone was, and then you're gonna see who that person

  532. ends up later in life. And it's an amazing difference.

  533. And I'm gonna ask the question over and over again.

  534. What happened now, I'll tell you now. The punchline is

  535. he got touched by the Holy Spirit and who he

  536. was to who he ends up being is a radically

  537. different human being. And that's my purer for you too,

  538. that over this month you'd allow the Holy Spirit to

  539. begin to soften your heart, to move on your life

  540. and begin to change you. One of the things that

  541. Eileen described with the Holy Spirit that when the Holy

  542. Spirit comes, the Holy Spirit convicts, and it the Holy

  543. Spirit doesn't convict you to make you feel guilty and

  544. to make you feel horror about about yourself.

  545. The Holy Spirit.

  546. Convicts you so that you can be changed, so that

  547. it can unlock something new in your life. And that

  548. is my prayer that this week the Holy Spirit would

  549. come convict the areas of your life that need to

  550. be unlocked.

  551. When that happens, don't run from it.

  552. Just take a moment and say, Lord, I lay that

  553. at your feet, I give that to you, Will you

  554. forgive me? Come back next week with that area of

  555. your life unlocked, ready to see if what happened in

  556. this man's life that we're going to talk about next

  557. week can happen in yours. That's what I want to pray.

  558. I'm going to close our service with prayer. Again, I

  559. want to thank you guys for being here. Means a

  560. lot that you're here fourth of July weekend. Sorry that

  561. you came thinking you were coming early to the eleven

  562. thirty service or late to the ten again nine and

  563. ten forty five. Check out our What's Next page on

  564. our app that will give you some practical ways that

  565. you can respond to this message. We also want to

  566. mention that underneath the awning and honor of the fourth

  567. of July, we have popsicles for everyone, And again, whatever

  568. popsicles you don't take, me and the staff are going

  569. to eat next week and we don't need more popsicles,

  570. so please take them on your way out. But let

  571. me pray for you, Lord Jesus. I do ask that

  572. this week your spirit would come convict our hearts. For

  573. those that are watching online, listening to this podcast, or

  574. that are here live, God, I pray that your spirit

  575. would come and convict us and Lord give us the

  576. opportunity to repent and have that area be unlocked. So

  577. we are ready to receive everything we can from you. Lord,

  578. move in our midst this week. God, I pray for

  579. everyone that you would give them a blessed by your

  580. spirit week. In Jesus's name, I pray Amen, thank you

  581. for coming to Venture Church.

  582. See you next week.
