  1. [SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Five of John, we're going to start reading in verse number 39.

  2. [SPEAKER_00]: Crisis teaching here, we've got a red letter edition, and you'll see where he says, search the Scriptures for in them.

  3. [SPEAKER_00]: You think you have eternal life.

  4. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, stop.

  5. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to understand who is he talking to, because in a scripture, it does tell us about eternal life.

  6. [SPEAKER_00]: But what he's talking to is a religious, lost, Jews, the leaders in particular, Pharisees, scribes, et cetera, showing them that they're trusting in the Word of God, the Old Testament scriptures.

  7. [SPEAKER_00]: for eternal life."

  8. [SPEAKER_00]: And then he says, and they, excuse me, and they are they which testify of me.

  9. [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, the Old Testament talks about the Lord Jesus Christ.

  10. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why we're looking at the Tabernacle.

  11. [SPEAKER_00]: We see Christ in the writings of Moses, verse 40, and you will not come to me that you might have life.

  12. [SPEAKER_00]: I want you to highlight that phrase.

  13. [SPEAKER_00]: You will

  14. [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, Christ is putting what on to the lost to come to God, of course, through the person of Christ.

  15. [SPEAKER_00]: He's saying, you're not willing to do that verse 41.

  16. [SPEAKER_00]: I receive not honor from men, but I know you that you have not the love of God in you.

  17. [SPEAKER_00]: I am coming in my father's name.

  18. [SPEAKER_00]: Now notice this phrase and you receive me, not.

  19. [SPEAKER_00]: Is Christ saying it's God's fault that these people are not saved and coming to the Lord?

  20. [SPEAKER_00]: Or is He saying it's man's fault that they're not saved?

  21. [SPEAKER_00]: Man's, everybody hear that?

  22. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's move on.

  23. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, I am coming, my father's name.

  24. [SPEAKER_00]: You receive me, not if another child come in his own name, him, you will receive.

  25. [SPEAKER_00]: How can you believe?

  26. [SPEAKER_00]: which receive honor, one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only, do not think that I will accuse you to the Father.

  27. [SPEAKER_00]: There is one that accuses you, even Moses, and whom you trust.

  28. [SPEAKER_00]: So they are depending on upon the Word of God, the writings of Moses, the Pentateuch, Genesis through Deuteronomy.

  29. [SPEAKER_00]: And yet those very writings are accusing them because they have not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and therefore have dishonored God as a result of that.

  30. [SPEAKER_00]: Four, verse 46, had you believed Moses?

  31. [SPEAKER_00]: You would have believed me.

  32. [SPEAKER_00]: For he, that is Moses, wrote of me.

  33. [SPEAKER_00]: But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe my words?

  34. [SPEAKER_00]: So Christ is comparing the very words that he is speaking with the authority of the writings of Moses.

  35. [SPEAKER_00]: Showing the Christ is the eternal word.

  36. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be starting a new series tonight on the subject of Calvinism.

  37. [SPEAKER_00]: It is known as the Tulip Theory.

  38. [SPEAKER_00]: We have had several folks in our church come and question these doctrines.

  39. [SPEAKER_00]: And matter of fact, there is an individual.

  40. [SPEAKER_00]: And if I get a little sarcastic with this, just forgive me.

  41. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you know, if I get a little sarcastic and seem like I do not have a lot of patients with this group, I apologize ahead of time because I don't have a lot of patients with it.

  42. [SPEAKER_00]: Because this particular doctrine changes everything, everything.

  43. [SPEAKER_00]: It changes discipleship, it changes missions, it changes everything that we would hold onto.

  44. [SPEAKER_00]: Remember, as a kid, you girls, maybe you grab a daisy, start pulling the pedals off, he loves me, he loves me not.

  45. [SPEAKER_00]: He loves me, he loves me not.

  46. [SPEAKER_00]: And you went the whole way around the ring until finally you were hoping and hoping that the last one was, he loves me.

  47. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you really didn't know.

  48. [SPEAKER_00]: And what's sad is that's almost what Calvinism teaches

  49. [SPEAKER_00]: Does God love me or does he not love me?

  50. [SPEAKER_00]: And we say, of course, John 360 says he does.

  51. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's not the interpretation of a true hyper-Calvinist, a true hyper-Calvinist will say, God loved every ethnic group, but not the individuals.

  52. [SPEAKER_00]: God loved the world.

  53. [SPEAKER_00]: That means in Brazil or China or Japan or wherever you want to go, too.

  54. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, God loves every ethnic group.

  55. [SPEAKER_00]: But that doesn't mean he loves every individual,

  56. [SPEAKER_00]: because even the thought of who's to whoever isn't inclusive of all mankind, it's talking about a general individual that would choose this.

  57. [SPEAKER_00]: And so it is not the God of love everybody.

  58. [SPEAKER_00]: God couldn't have done that because that would mean he'd love Hitler.

  59. [SPEAKER_00]: That means he'd love everybody.

  60. [SPEAKER_00]: So, all of a sudden, they're saying that God basically loves who he chooses to love, not based on merit or anything that they have ever done, but God says, I love you, don't love you, I love you, and I don't love you, I select you, and I have chosen you, but I haven't chosen you, and he goes selectively, not based on your works or merit or anything that you have done, zero part on you.

  61. [SPEAKER_00]: that he decides that, okay, I love certain people, and I don't like other people.

  62. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the extremes of Calvinism.

  63. [SPEAKER_00]: There was a Calvinist in the pulpit here, not too long ago.

  64. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's another reason why I wanted to zip this baby and nip it into bud, because I'm told that there are some people from Northside Baptist that were amenating this guy.

  65. [SPEAKER_00]: Shame on you if you were amenating him at the Awanna Conference.

  66. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy basically denied any reason for an invitation.

  67. [SPEAKER_00]: because there's no reason for an invitation because you don't choose God, he chooses you.

  68. [SPEAKER_00]: If he loves you, you're saved, you're going to have it.

  69. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're in the middle of the Amazon and God loves that individual Indian, then they're going to have it.

  70. [SPEAKER_00]: And for another guy is there and God says, don't like you, then they're going to hell.

  71. [SPEAKER_00]: So it is a predestination.

  72. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the big fancy word for it all.

  73. [SPEAKER_00]: That predetermined, God predetermined certain people

  74. [SPEAKER_00]: and certain people are predetermined to heaven whether they want it or not.

  75. [SPEAKER_00]: Because not based on them choosing God.

  76. [SPEAKER_00]: There is zero choice of man.

  77. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no will.

  78. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no intellect.

  79. [SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing.

  80. [SPEAKER_00]: It is either God loves you or he doesn't.

  81. [SPEAKER_00]: Now as you can see, if I could stop right there and everybody would say, yeah, that's a piece of work.

  82. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a no brainer or else why we have a missionary.

  83. [SPEAKER_00]: because if they're going to heaven, if they're predetermined to heaven, or predetermined to hell, then why would you ever send a missionary to the field?

  84. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, do you ever stop and think about why is it?

  85. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm not picking, I'm trying to pick, but why is it the certain denominations?

  86. [SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to mission work, the missionaries themselves, the purpose is not to preach the gospel, but to feed the poor.

  87. [SPEAKER_00]: to help people out with medicine and never is the word and the preaching ever going on.

  88. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, you know why, because it doesn't matter, you just want to get a few crowns, maybe if you get there, if you're good enough, and you do enough good, and you make it, because it's based, okay.

  89. [SPEAKER_00]: So we have a whole lot of doctrine that we need to cover folks.

  90. [SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to see some scriptures and we're going to see their scriptures.

  91. [SPEAKER_00]: We are going to extensively look at Romans chapter 9 because that is their classic text not tonight though.

    Romans 9 chapter mention

  92. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, let's get to the art of this thing.

  93. [SPEAKER_00]: I got to build some stuff here first for us.

  94. [SPEAKER_00]: We call it Calvinism.

  95. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know why?

  96. [SPEAKER_00]: What's based on an individual?

  97. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to start looking.

  98. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I put, he loves me.

  99. [SPEAKER_00]: He loves me not because if God doesn't love you, and it doesn't matter whether you choose God or not, the next question is, can you know if you're saved them?

  100. [SPEAKER_00]: The answer is, you cannot know if you're saved, if God chooses you and you don't choose him.

  101. [SPEAKER_00]: Because whether you walked into Iowa and prayed to prayer, whether you said, God, please save me, save me, save me, save me, it doesn't matter.

  102. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you're not saved that way.

  103. [SPEAKER_00]: Just throw out the window, everything that we do.

  104. [SPEAKER_00]: and just realize it doesn't matter.

  105. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, does that not make sense now of why most major denominations do not teach the security of the believer?

  106. [SPEAKER_00]: Is because you can't know until you kick the bucket and you finally step into Peter's gate and he lets you enter, he doesn't let you in.

  107. [SPEAKER_00]: That's some being sarcastic here.

  108. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

  109. [SPEAKER_00]: There is a,

  110. [SPEAKER_00]: There's this story, this guy told he died and he was on his way to heaven, and as he was going up this big hill to Peter's gate, a good friend of his name Nathan was there.

  111. [SPEAKER_00]: And he went to Nathan, and he said, Nathan, get an awfully tired.

  112. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to get to the gates to see Peter to get in.

  113. [SPEAKER_00]: And we help me get to the gate.

  114. [SPEAKER_00]: And he says, sure, jump on my back.

  115. [SPEAKER_00]: So this guy gets one Nathan's back.

  116. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's going the whole way up.

  117. [SPEAKER_00]: And he finally arrives at the gate.

  118. [SPEAKER_00]: Peter says, hey, Carl, good to see you.

  119. [SPEAKER_00]: He goes, come on in, but you've got to leave your donkey outside.

  120. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not allowed to get in.

  121. [SPEAKER_00]: couldn't wait to use that one.

  122. [SPEAKER_00]: It just I just learned that one.

  123. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, young Calvin is the individual's name.

  124. [SPEAKER_00]: When did he begin his ministries back in the 1500s, how long ago this guy was in on this earth preaching and Pastor in Strasbourg from 1538 to 1541

  125. [SPEAKER_00]: He would live there until his death in 1564.

  126. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of the most notable things that he would be teaching are the five souls or the Latin phrase for these slogans.

  127. [SPEAKER_00]: These things that he lived by, which was the Protestant Reformation.

  128. [SPEAKER_00]: Now let me just highlight something to you and I is Christians right now.

  129. [SPEAKER_00]: There are those who were considered Protestants and those who are considered Catholic.

  130. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's how we look at.

  131. [SPEAKER_00]: Protestants comes from that thought of being a protester of you and I are not Protestants.

  132. [SPEAKER_00]: It is scary.

  133. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not protesting anything.

  134. [SPEAKER_00]: And yet we're classified that way.

  135. [SPEAKER_00]: Are we helping you out here tonight?

  136. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not in this group.

  137. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not mailing our 95 thesis on any doors.

  138. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not our job.

  139. [SPEAKER_00]: All those these reformers, they had to stand up against a lot of major teachings that took place.

  140. [SPEAKER_00]: And so some of those major teachings that were here and you're gonna applaud these, by the way.

  141. [SPEAKER_00]: Salvation comes by God's grace or favor only.

  142. [SPEAKER_00]: not as something marited by the sinner and agree with grace, the way I was promised that, right, true.

  143. [SPEAKER_00]: Just vacation, that is being declared guiltless by God.

  144. [SPEAKER_00]: Some have said to be innocent in God's sight, to be declared righteous in God's sight.

  145. [SPEAKER_00]: And is received by faith only not good works.

  146. [SPEAKER_00]: All people said,

  147. [SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

  148. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

  149. [SPEAKER_00]: The Bible is the only inspired and authoritative word of God and is susceptible to all.

  150. [SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

  151. [SPEAKER_00]: Christy, only mediator between God and man.

  152. [SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

  153. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

  154. [SPEAKER_00]: And all glory is due to God alone.

  155. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

  156. [SPEAKER_00]: We agree.

  157. [SPEAKER_00]: Now these things, these major five

  158. [SPEAKER_00]: and to Catholicism at that time period, some major things, because at that time period, there was a battle when it came to how does a person get from point A to point B, meaning earth to heaven?

  159. [SPEAKER_00]: How do you get there?

  160. [SPEAKER_00]: And there are those that do not believe the salvation by the grace of God is anywhere in the picture.

  161. [SPEAKER_00]: But rather, the only way for you to get to heaven is through that church.

  162. [SPEAKER_00]: and that you have to have the blessings you have to go through certain sacraments, you have to go through all of these traditions in order for you to be able to get into heaven.

  163. [SPEAKER_00]: And there are those that believe that it is not done by grace, God's grace given to you, but rather you working for it.

  164. [SPEAKER_00]: So they were, of course, battling, saying, you know what, we see grace in the Bible, and, of course, we know the Ephesians 2 8 9 4 by grace, are you saved through faith that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, and it's not of works, less than a man should, both, tie to three, five, not by words of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saves us.

  165. [SPEAKER_00]: So classic verses that deals with that subject.

  166. [SPEAKER_00]: And the justification,

  167. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, this is that they are declared righteous or not guilty by God, and it's done by faith.

  168. [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, we gave the Ephesians 2-8-9, where for by grace you save through faith.

  169. [SPEAKER_00]: So grace, faith, time together, in that particular verse, but, of course, faith or believing in God is throughout the Scriptures, the God's love of the world.

  170. [SPEAKER_00]: that he gave us on them.

  171. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got some, the whosoever believe in him, that belief is a faith, a visual, that Greek word, talking about something that we have as a trust factor in God, that is not God's faithfulness to us, that is not talking about the faith in the book of Romans.

  172. [SPEAKER_00]: There is the faith of Jesus Christ, but rather an individual's faith in the Savior, is something that we are doing as a trust in Him.

  173. [SPEAKER_00]: And it is therefore not of work, so we're justified by faith and Romans in chapter 4, in particular chapter 5, deals with that in length.

  174. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the third bullet is the Bible is the only inspired, the thought of Word of God, and is a separate wall.

  175. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the thing that they were battling, especially at that time period,

  176. [SPEAKER_00]: was that only the Pope, only the bishops, only those who were priests could understand the Word God.

  177. [SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore the laymen, the people in the church, were told what the Bible says.

  178. [SPEAKER_00]: And the people were not to have the Bible.

  179. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why he bought that last part up that it's supposed to be given to everybody.

  180. [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, it's not just for people of degrees.

  181. [SPEAKER_00]: or that have gone to a particular college.

  182. [SPEAKER_00]: But rather all, that's why individuals not too long from this time period decided that they are going to go forward with the translation of the word of God, even towards the English language, individuals like William Tindall and others that brought forth.

  183. [SPEAKER_00]: And history, I'm a sure many of you were here when Ruth Smith gave that chronological view

  184. [SPEAKER_00]: of historical events, bringing the Word of God to us.

  185. [SPEAKER_00]: It is powerful to see all the inventions, the press, all those things that were made just at the right time, that once the translators were able to take and bring it from Greek, the latheons and so forth and start translating it and slowly,

  186. [SPEAKER_00]: bring it in, and there were others that were involved with it, but probably one of the greatest scholars of all was Tindall that started getting it toward that direction, and it was the Catholicism basically that hunted him down and killed him, because they did not believe that UNI, the common man, should have the Bible, and so they killed him for translating the Bible so that UNI could have it.

  187. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we have heritage folks, you know, and of course, you know, you get into the 1600s and you can see the timeline we were at there at 1500s, 1600s, early 1600s.

  188. [SPEAKER_00]: We have the King James that comes into the English language and is used to this day.

  189. [SPEAKER_00]: But still the number one seller, still the number one seller.

  190. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's lasted all those years, and now you know how you got it.

  191. [SPEAKER_00]: So the next time you know, you just don't appreciate it.

  192. [SPEAKER_00]: The next time you get tired of the these and the thousand of preachers preaching, I want you to stop and think about this, somebody died and gave it a life so that we could have it.

  193. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's a powerful thing.

  194. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they were battling, and that's, again, why they protested what was going on.

  195. [SPEAKER_00]: And then crisis, the only mediator between God and man, gee, I wonder why that's brought up, okay?

  196. [SPEAKER_00]: So, instead of having a priest or married or one of the other apostles, is only through one person.

  197. [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, what's the verse for it?

  198. [SPEAKER_00]: There you go, first of them is two, five.

  199. [SPEAKER_00]: There is one God, one mediator between God and man.

  200. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the man, Christ Jesus.

  201. [SPEAKER_00]: Interestingly, God brings in the humanity of Christ as our high priest if you will, to show that he is the one that we access God through, and there is no other mediator, he is it.

  202. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, if we try to go another way

  203. [SPEAKER_00]: And it ain't gonna happen.

  204. [SPEAKER_00]: There is no other way.

  205. [SPEAKER_00]: When Christ said, I am the way of the truth in the life.

  206. [SPEAKER_00]: I am the door, I am the good shepherd, I am all the items of John.

  207. [SPEAKER_00]: He is showing a simplicity, a single way for you and I to get to God.

  208. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what John was really all about.

  209. [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, the last bullet is, all glory is due to God alone.

  210. [SPEAKER_00]: We say, of course, I, but you have to understand the mindset of the prophecy.

  211. [SPEAKER_00]: those who would be honored and rings kissed that they would receive a blessing as a result of honoring man he said that's that's in the Greek but really that's what he's doing he's saying you're a man there's nothing different about you you're a man

  212. [SPEAKER_00]: You're a sinner, and if you don't invite Jesus into your heart, you're going to the same place that the drunk goes to, if he doesn't invite Jesus in.

  213. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the same, man is man.

  214. [SPEAKER_00]: depraved a sinner and we're going to throw words at you to show you we're going to talk about these and their definitions as we go because words that we use if you get into a different place they have a lot different meaning and the depravity of man is one of them when I say depraved every human being is depraved not just those that are never going

  215. [SPEAKER_00]: Pope, bless us, heart, you know, I'm sorry, but your preacher in everybody, you know, you've ever met, we're all in same boat, we're all sinners, and there is no where that you'll see in the scriptures, a place where God says, except for one, that's Jesus, and He's the perfect spotless Lamb of God.

  216. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this is what they were battling.

  217. [SPEAKER_00]: This is what they were fighting for and reforming and protesting about.

  218. [SPEAKER_00]: There's always the remnant dough that stuck true.

  219. [SPEAKER_00]: So so far, you know, Calvin's ideas we understand.

  220. [SPEAKER_00]: Now Calvinism though, where did this whole thing start?

  221. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's see it.

  222. [SPEAKER_00]: Calvinism began about 1,400 years after the origin of the New Testament Church as we would know it from Acts chapter number two.

  223. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I bring that point up to show you something, isn't it interesting that what Calvin come up with in his young age is a pastor?

  224. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody else had thought of for 1400 years.

  225. [SPEAKER_00]: to help you, except for one other guy that he did read about 400 years after the church, he read a lot of his writings and got some of the ideas from it.

  226. [SPEAKER_00]: So even if you say, well, start 400 years afterward, this poor 400 years of people, what happened to them.

  227. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they thought they were going to heaven and they weren't predestinated.

  228. [SPEAKER_00]: So their loss, so their hope was for nothing.

  229. [SPEAKER_00]: And the other thing is, if what he discovered and he brought into the full meaning or understanding.

  230. [SPEAKER_00]: So, 1400 years, and anybody after he passed away to this present day, if we don't go along with that, or, you know, can we know, we're saying, we say, there's a lot of mud that comes into the whole picture.

  231. [SPEAKER_00]: The philosophy is of human reasoning.

  232. [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, even a lot of the terms that are used for instance, irresistible grace, irresistible grace.

  233. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a term we're gonna look at.

  234. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you look throughout the scriptures and you look up the word grace?

  235. [SPEAKER_00]: You will never one time see irresistible before grace.

  236. [SPEAKER_00]: Not one time.

  237. [SPEAKER_00]: And I will show you people that resisted.

  238. [SPEAKER_00]: after hearing the gospel.

  239. [SPEAKER_00]: But there are those as this guy that came in the pulpit, I wish I was here, I wish I was here.

  240. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I would have preached a rebuttal message after he was done or else he would have sat down and out of stood up and out of dealt with the rest of the story.

  241. [SPEAKER_00]: Because the individual, as he was teaching, was what a format, what a stand to go to in an

  242. [SPEAKER_00]: And, of course, I talked to our director and I said, where did you get this guy from?

  243. [SPEAKER_00]: He goes, I didn't know.

  244. [SPEAKER_00]: But after his teachings, we had a Sunday school teacher who approached me and a adult Sunday school teacher.

  245. [SPEAKER_00]: And one of her students came up crying to her.

  246. [SPEAKER_00]: And she said, because she was here to conference.

  247. [SPEAKER_00]: And as she was crying, she goes, I think I have sinned.

  248. [SPEAKER_00]: And the scientist will teach her said, what, and this is true, it's not a story, this is true, it's not a church.

  249. [SPEAKER_00]: After hearing that message on Calvinism, she said, I feel I have sinned because I have witnessed to all of my family members, and I may have sinned because they may not be predestinated.

  250. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what she got out of the message.

  251. [SPEAKER_00]: Because if I witness to somebody and they're not one of God's, I love you, then I'm telling somebody about God's love that God doesn't love, then I may have done a wrong thing.

  252. [SPEAKER_00]: I may have given a false security to somebody.

  253. [SPEAKER_00]: See how it changes everything?

  254. [SPEAKER_00]: And that was in one 30-minute message.

  255. [SPEAKER_00]: There is no reason to have an invitation.

  256. [SPEAKER_00]: There is no reason to get a child to pray, a sinner's prayer.

  257. [SPEAKER_00]: Why do that?

  258. [SPEAKER_00]: Because if they're loved, they're going to have him to doesn't matter.

  259. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now you're seeing why the preacher needs to preach on this.

  260. [SPEAKER_00]: And on the tell you, there were people in this church that were amen in this guy.

  261. [SPEAKER_00]: The boys that bug me.

  262. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, we've been doing for eight years.

  263. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm teaching against this garbage.

  264. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so here's the example.

  265. [SPEAKER_00]: If God for knew what would occur, then he must have ordained it.

  266. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, if he knew sin would come, he must have planned the sin.

  267. [SPEAKER_00]: And we know the Bible does not say that.

  268. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a conclusion based on man's reasoning.

  269. [SPEAKER_00]: It's that process of elimination.

  270. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore this happened.

  271. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore this must have happened.

  272. [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like evolution.

  273. [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like, well, we think this is happening.

  274. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, this is what we must conclude.

  275. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not based on fact, it's based on theory, human reasoning.

  276. [SPEAKER_00]: Matter of fact, most of the terms that we will see, and luck at, you will say, well, that's not indibible.

  277. [SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to say that's right.

  278. [SPEAKER_00]: And yet, many churches, if you go to individuals, and we've had individuals that sat down with me, and they have said, I am a Calvinist.

  279. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone guy come up to me because I'm a I'm a Calvinist.

  280. [SPEAKER_00]: I said really cool.

  281. [SPEAKER_00]: I said so talk to me Said how were you saved tell me about when you came to know the Lord is your savior So he said oh, yeah, this is back when I was a kid in you know the preacher and I went and I prayed to sinners prayer And it went through the whole nine yards.

  282. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, that's great.

  283. [SPEAKER_00]: I said so what you're telling me is you chose Jesus and always sit back

  284. [SPEAKER_00]: because on paper, theory wise, it sounds pretty cool.

  285. [SPEAKER_00]: Tate's responsibility off of man.

  286. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't have to evangelize, don't have to work, don't have to pray for the loss.

  287. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no need to do anything along that line for the lost.

  288. [SPEAKER_00]: But when he came to how he got saved, it was pretty clear that God was working in his heart and he came to a cross road in his life and he needed to believe in Jesus.

  289. [SPEAKER_00]: And I said, what would happen if you would have said no to Jesus?

  290. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, now he's stopping because Calvinism says you can't say no.

  291. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an irresistible grace who I have to do this, you know?

  292. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't say no, it's a maggot.

  293. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, sucking you right in.

  294. [SPEAKER_00]: And then they always stop and say, yeah, I don't have a thought of it that way.

  295. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, well, you better start thinking of it that way.

  296. [SPEAKER_00]: Because it changes everything, folks.

  297. [SPEAKER_00]: Another reason I'm getting into this matter is, I'm talking to preachers, I'm obviously saying names or anything, but I'm talking to preachers, and they're reading up on this stuff.

  298. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're starting to believe it.

  299. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're starting to preach it, and teach it in their churches.

  300. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is that.

  301. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sitting and thinking, why?

  302. [SPEAKER_00]: Why is this so enticing to an individual that has been baptistic in their teachings, what they have received, what they have been doing through all those years, and all of a sudden, now they're listening to the doctor's teaching on the subject.

  303. [SPEAKER_00]: Calvinism.

  304. [SPEAKER_00]: And what is it?

  305. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is where we're going to begin kicking off Lord willing.

  306. [SPEAKER_00]: Next week, Calvinism has five points called the two-lept.

  307. [SPEAKER_00]: T-U-L-I-P, kind of a classic, showing you the T-Stands for something, the U-Stands for something, the L-I-P, et cetera.

  308. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's a two-lept theory, and we will discuss all five points so that you know that.

  309. [SPEAKER_00]: The T stands for the total depravity of manners in other ways, some people use it.

  310. [SPEAKER_00]: The U is the matter of election that it is an unconditional election.

  311. [SPEAKER_00]: And don't worry, you say, I'm not getting all these, I'm going to have them on the board out, I'll write them out for you, we'll deal with each one individually, so it is an unconditional election.

  312. [SPEAKER_00]: So there's no conditions.

  313. [SPEAKER_00]: You're either the elector you're not.

  314. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the L is the limited attenement, meaning Jesus didn't die for the sins of the whole world.

  315. [SPEAKER_00]: He only died for the intellect.

  316. [SPEAKER_00]: on the certain people that the blood of Christ was at four.

  317. [SPEAKER_00]: And the eye is the irresistible grace.

  318. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's an irresistible.

  319. [SPEAKER_00]: So you have nothing to do with it.

  320. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just bang.

  321. [SPEAKER_00]: There it is.

  322. [SPEAKER_00]: And the P is for the preservation of the saints, preservation of the saints.

  323. [SPEAKER_00]: So these are the five subjects that we're going to look at in the near future.

  324. [SPEAKER_00]: Now the second bullet is this, some hold to part of these points while others hold to all five.

  325. [SPEAKER_00]: So I've talked to people and they say, well, I'm a three point, or I'm a five point, or I'm a one point Calvinist.

  326. [SPEAKER_00]: As you will see over the next week's NBC is a zero point Calvinist, zero.

  327. [SPEAKER_00]: You say you have to agree with the depravity of man, not according to their definition.

  328. [SPEAKER_00]: Because their definition of depravity of man means only those who are not elect are

  329. [SPEAKER_00]: depraved means they can't be saved.

  330. [SPEAKER_00]: They're depraved.

  331. [SPEAKER_00]: They're dead.

  332. [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to hell.

  333. [SPEAKER_00]: They are not predestinated to go to heaven.

  334. [SPEAKER_00]: So therefore they are depraved.

  335. [SPEAKER_00]: So now you just in case you don't come back for any more of it, now you know why I am a zero point Calvinist, okay?

  336. [SPEAKER_00]: And Calvinist will call all who disagree with them and our menin, our menin is one who believes they are saved by works.

  337. [SPEAKER_00]: So what they're saying is if you are not saved by what God did for you, then you're depending upon your own works.

  338. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you're basing it on your own good works, you're therefore not a good Calvinist because it's all grace and faith and what God did for you.

  339. [SPEAKER_00]: And it has nothing to do with you.

  340. [SPEAKER_00]: So all of a sudden you're saying, well, I say by faith, you know, we're not that.

  341. [SPEAKER_00]: So which one are we then?

  342. [SPEAKER_00]: We're neither.

  343. [SPEAKER_00]: We're neither.

  344. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not a Calvinist, we're not our many end.

  345. [SPEAKER_00]: We're biblicalists.

  346. [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing to do with a man folks.

  347. [SPEAKER_00]: These guys were men.

  348. [SPEAKER_00]: OK, you will see that we are neither countness nor our minute.

  349. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, let me show you this, I wanted to do this point, too, so that you understand something.

  350. [SPEAKER_00]: Calvin's ending remarks.

  351. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me read it.

  352. [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of explain it to you.

  353. [SPEAKER_00]: Calvinists do not hold to the statements of their teacher.

  354. [SPEAKER_00]: Now of course Calvinism was taught by John when he was in his early years of ministry.

  355. [SPEAKER_00]: In his latter years he wrote these words and this is a direct quote.

  356. [SPEAKER_00]: Christ suffered for the sins of the whole world.

  357. [SPEAKER_00]: And in the goodness of God is offered unto all men without distinction, his blood being shed not four part of the world only, but for the whole human race, he got it once he matured.

  358. [SPEAKER_00]: And they who called themselves Calvinists won't quote that one, trust me.

  359. [SPEAKER_00]: because they don't like that one.

  360. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he just, in that one paragraph, and there's more after that, in one paragraph, he just discredited everything he taught and wrote about as a younger man.

  361. [SPEAKER_00]: If I told you what I did at my first church in some of my policies that I had, versus now, you'd be amazed.

  362. [SPEAKER_00]: Not just what I preach, how I preach, but I'm talking about marriage divorce, things that I taught on, things that I explain back then very clearly versus what I do now is I have seen the rest of the story in the Word of God.

  363. [SPEAKER_00]: As I have seen, first Corinthians 7, as I've talked to my former teachers about these texts and they say to me, I never saw that before, I love it when you stump your teacher.

  364. [SPEAKER_00]: because I'd say, what does this mean?

  365. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, I was never taught this in college and I was never taught this from the pool, but I'm reading a Bible on all of a sudden, this stuff comes out in my face and it's pretty clear black and white to me.

  366. [SPEAKER_00]: So what am I supposed to do?

  367. [SPEAKER_00]: So I had to redevelop my thinking of what my pastor taught, what my school taught, and what I taught.

  368. [SPEAKER_00]: And then all of a sudden, I had to change everything.

  369. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know what, maturity happens.

  370. [SPEAKER_00]: Haven't you changed your mind as you have seen the word and it's changed the way you think?

  371. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not going to blast, I'm just going to try to expose because there are those that hold onto these former teachings and hold onto some of the things that he taught.

  372. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to be looking at subjects like election.

  373. [SPEAKER_00]: predestination, for ordination, these type of words that, you know, a lot of time we're kind of afraid to talk about it, you know, I was talking one guy and I used the word election.

  374. [SPEAKER_00]: And he went, you know, they stopped me and he said, you know, you know, when there's Calvinist's area, I said, no, it's right there in Ephesians one, it talks about where the elect, it's in the Bible, you know, it's not a bad word.

  375. [SPEAKER_00]: predestination is not a bad word.

  376. [SPEAKER_00]: Four ordination is not a bad word.

  377. [SPEAKER_00]: They're good biblical words, but we gotta get some definitions.

  378. [SPEAKER_00]: We have to understand what has got talking about when he deals with the elect, and who's he talking about most times?

  379. [SPEAKER_00]: And how is it that Jacob have I loved?

  380. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's all have I hated.

  381. [SPEAKER_00]: And Pharaoh, the heart was hardened.

  382. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean he's going to be destroyed.

  383. [SPEAKER_00]: So we got to look at that text because that's what they go by.

  384. [SPEAKER_00]: That is the key paragraph or two that a lot of the doctrine is based on.

  385. [SPEAKER_00]: And so we got to look at that paragraph, don't we?

  386. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we got to see.

  387. [SPEAKER_00]: And what we're going to do is we're going to compare that with the rest of the Bible.

  388. [SPEAKER_00]: on a short portion of Scripture, especially when the rest of the Bible, especially the next chapter, folks, in chapter 10, what's he get into, the salvation, prayer for salvation.

  389. [SPEAKER_00]: They stumbled at the rock of a fence at the end of chapter 9, even.

  390. [SPEAKER_00]: They rejected the Messiah, right after he talks about that.

  391. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to see the whole text.

  392. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to try to expose and show to you that these are good words and that God calls.

  393. [SPEAKER_00]: God chooses, there are the elect, there are the predestination principles and we need to see them within the text.

  394. [SPEAKER_00]: You'll be surprised what the predestination in the text is talking about.

  395. [SPEAKER_00]: And talk about salvation.

  396. [SPEAKER_00]: God has some other things to predestinate about you.

  397. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, this is close.

  398. [SPEAKER_00]: Lord, bless us, time.

  399. [SPEAKER_00]: I know we haven't gotten into a lot of scriptures tonight, but Lord, we want to do through these weeks is to show you your character and your word.

  400. [SPEAKER_00]: And I pray that as we do this, it will be helpful to each one in this church and those who even listen to this by way of tapes.

  401. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for what you'll do.

  402. [SPEAKER_00]: In Jesus' name, we pray.

  403. [SPEAKER_00]: Amen.
