  1. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Today we're going to talk about baptism

  2. and how it's supposed to be done according to the Scriptures. We're going to pray.

  3. Lord Jesus, we can do nothing without you. We pray, God, that you will lead

  4. us today and that you will help us to understand what is required of us and,

  5. for us to fulfill the Scriptures as it is written.

  6. So open our understanding, Lord. Remove, O God, any doubt or any lies of the enemy.

  7. Everything, every false way that's not of you, Lord. expose all the works of

  8. darkness. In the name of Jesus Christ, let your revelation of truth be poured out. Amen. Praise God.

  9. So today, mainly, there's two ways, pretty much, people baptize.

  10. There's three, I guess, if you want to, you know, add certain things.

  11. So for instance, there's being baptized in the name of the titles,

  12. which they say in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost.

  13. And then there's people who say we baptize in the name of Jesus Christ.

  14. And on top of that, then there's the difference between, for instance,

  15. Catholics who will sprinkle water for their baptisms.

  16. And then the other one is immersion, which is to be completely submerged underwater.

  17. So according to the scriptures, let's go there first. Let's go to Matthew 28, verse 19.

    Matthew 28:19

  18. So it says this. It says, go ye therefore and teach all nations.

  19. Baptizing them in the name of the Father.

  20. And of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. We need to pay attention to this scripture

  21. because it is not telling us to baptize in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. That's not what it says.

  22. It's very clear. He said, baptizing them in the name of. Father is not the name.

  23. Son is not a name. Holy Ghost is not a name. So if I told you to baptize me in my Father's name,

  24. You don't repeat what I say You have to do what I say And the first thing you

  25. need to know Is my father's name,

  26. So you don't You're not obeying the scriptures By repeating what he said If

  27. the doctor gives you a prescription You have to take the prescription In order for it to do his job,

  28. But you're not obeying it,

  29. If it was for instance If it was a password To get into heaven And I said,

  30. okay, well, the password to get in is my father's name.

  31. You can't come to me and say, I say, what's the password? You say, my father's name.

  32. That's not going to work. It's the name. The name is how you get in.

  33. The Bible says in Acts 4.12, there's no other name given among men whereby we must be saved by.

  34. So there is no other name. We're saved by the name because we are buried in his name.

  35. So, for example, let's go to Romans chapter 6 and we'll read verse 3.

    Romans 6 chapter mention

  36. Romans chapter 6, listen to this, from verse 3, Know ye not that so many of

    Romans 6 chapter mention

  37. us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?

  38. Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death, that like as Christ

  39. was raised up from the dead by

  40. the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

  41. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death,

  42. We shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

  43. So we are buried with him.

  44. We're buried with Christ through baptism. So buried, that's why we emerge.

  45. Even the word baptism, if you look up the Greek word as bapto,

  46. which means to be completely immersed.

  47. So there is no other way to do it except for being immersed in the name of Jesus

  48. Christ. How do I know that?

  49. Because when we go to Acts chapter 2 and the very first message that was preached

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  50. in the church age, we learn that verse 38, when they asked the question in verse

  51. 37, how shall we be saved? What shall we do? Verse 38 says, repent.

  52. So I'm going to deal with that too. What does repentance mean?

  53. Repentance doesn't mean say, I'm sorry.

  54. Repentance means to turn. So by you saying sorry and if you continue in sin, you didn't repent.

  55. Repentance means to turn from your sins.

  56. To turn your back on sin and then turn towards God, turn towards the light and obey Him.

  57. So that's what true repentance is. It's when you turn from your sins.

  58. Then it says, repent and be what? Baptized every one of you. How?

  59. In the name of Jesus Christ. Why? For the remission, for the removal of sins.

  60. So the name is what applies the blood of Jesus to our life.

  61. The Bible says we put on Christ through baptism.

  62. How do we do that? By taking on his name. It's like a marriage.

  63. When someone gets married, they take on the name of the husband.

  64. Well, we are the bride of Christ and we take on his names through baptism.

  65. So the name is what saves us. When we cast out demons, we don't cast out demons in titles.

  66. We don't say in the name of father, in the name of son and holy ghost, get out.

  67. It won't work because there's no power in that. The Bible says he has a name

  68. that's above every name. Every

  69. knee shall bow. Every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

  70. Jesus Christ is Lord. You need to use the power of the name.

  71. The name is what applies the blood to your life.

  72. So there is no other way. There's not both. There's not one or the other.

  73. You need to be baptized in the name because he's coming back for a church called

  74. by his name without spot or wrinkle.

  75. So you need the name of Jesus to be saved.

  76. This is how we baptize. And first of all, there's no scripture in the Bible

  77. where anyone was baptized in the titles. Show it to me.

  78. It's not in there. So if it's not in there, why are we doing that?

  79. Why are people practicing it? Why is this even a debate? This is not a debate, brethren.

  80. The word of God can't lie. He said, do it in the name of the father.

  81. The name of the son. The scripture says Jesus came in his father's name.

  82. We know the name of the son is Jesus. He said, I will send a comforter in my name.

  83. One name. Doesn't say names. It's not plural because it's one God.

  84. One God we serve. So it's one name we're saved by.

  85. So if we're going to baptize, we should do it according to the examples that

  86. we have that are in the Bible.

  87. There is no other example. All the scriptures teach us that baptism in Jesus'

  88. name. You don't believe me?

  89. Acts 2.38 says, which I already quoted to you. Repent, be baptized,

  90. everyone in the name of Jesus Christ.

  91. You go to Acts chapter 10.

    Acts 10 chapter mention

  92. Let me go there quickly. And why I'm going to these scriptures,

  93. because these were all conversions.

  94. And what does it say? They were baptized, says, oh, I'm in the wrong book.

  95. So it says, and he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

  96. So if they did it in the name of the Lord, are we going to say he did it in

  97. Father, Son, Holy Ghost?

  98. Or is it going to be in the name, which is Jesus? The name that's above every

  99. name, that every knee is going to bow to.

  100. Then we go to Acts chapter 19. We go to verse 1 and 6.

    Acts 19 chapter mention

  101. And it says, I'm going to read verse 5. It says, when they heard this,

  102. they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

  103. In the name of the Lord Jesus.

  104. And if you go to even Acts, I skipped over chapter 8, says.

  105. Acts chapter 8 verse 16 says, For as yet he was fallen upon none of them,

    Acts 8:16

  106. only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

  107. Again, the scriptures don't lie. The scriptures are consistent.

  108. There is no other name. There is no other example in the Bible.

  109. So why would you take the scriptures out of context? Why would you use Matthew

  110. 28, 19, which tells us it's not a contradiction. It literally says to do it

  111. in the name of the father, the name of the son, the name of the Holy Ghost.

  112. There's only one name because there's only one God.

  113. So I hope you get this revelation. It's very simple.

  114. Some people are very complicating things. It's not that complicated.

  115. Jesus is the Father. He's the Son. He's the Holy Ghost.

  116. The Father represents the Spirit of God.

  117. The Son represents God in the flesh. So God's a Spirit. We can't see His Spirit.

  118. So He robed Himself in flesh so that we could see Him, but it wasn't really for that purpose.

  119. It was for the redemption of man so that He could die because God doesn't have

  120. blood, but yet He purchased us with His blood because He robed Himself in flesh.

  121. He came down in the form of a servant. That's what Philippians 2 says.

  122. He came down the form of a servant.

  123. So, and then we know the Holy Ghost is God. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of

  124. God. There's not multiple spirits of God. There's one Spirit of God. He is the Spirit.

  125. One Lord, one faith, one baptism. There's only one way to do things.

  126. And that's God's way, not my way.

  127. So God bless you. If you have any questions, let them put them in the comments.

  128. And I'll get back to you in Jesus' name. Amen.
