  1. Are you recording this?

  2. Yeah?

  3. Yes.

  4. On what? On a phone?

  5. Okay. Let's check.

  6. Okay, a different spirit. Caleb was a man who had a different spirit.

  7. He wrote the numbers 1424.

  8. You can see that. Numbers 1424.

  9. Numbers 1424.

  10. I gave him what he said.

  11. He said the numbers 1424 that

  12. he doesn't say what I expected to say.

  13. No, I just say that.

  14. But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit

  15. and follows me wholeheartedly,

  16. I will bring him into the land he went to

  17. and his descendants will inherit him.

  18. So there is this idea that God has

  19. of his people and then

  20. amongst his people he expects a different spirit

  21. and not everybody gets there, right?

  22. That's the sad part.

  23. There are different kinds of spirits

  24. that are different from each other.

  25. There are different kinds of spirits

  26. that are different from each other.

  27. There are things God desires in his heart

  28. that he doesn't get from us.

  29. That's a shame because he deserves the best.

  30. There was a song

  31. that this guy

  32. in India was singing

  33. and in Hindi there's this word

  34. which says abhari.

  35. Abhari means I owe you.

  36. And the song basically says

  37. I owe you, oh God.

  38. While he was singing I was saying to myself,

  39. Father, I am so glad that I owe you for the rest of my life.

  40. Hey, can I have some more water more please?

  41. I'm so glad that I owe you

  42. for the rest of my life.

  43. I'm so glad that I owe you.

  44. There will never be a time where I can

  45. pay you for what I owe you.

  46. It will be a debt that will be outstanding

  47. for eternity. I like that.

  48. But there are some things

  49. he desires that I must give him while

  50. I'm here on earth. Because you can't give this

  51. to him in heaven. This is the sad thing, guys.

  52. All the gifts that you have to give

  53. you have to give him now.

  54. Because it will be way too easy in heaven.

  55. One of the gifts we give him is

  56. to be of a different spirit. Because those

  57. that are of a different spirit

  58. will always get their inheritance.

  59. Will always get their inheritance

  60. here on earth. And what is our inheritance?

  61. Our inheritance is what the Father wants us

  62. to do for his sake here on earth.

  63. Our inheritance is

  64. what the Father wants to accomplish

  65. through us here on earth before we

  66. leave the earth. And that was the reason you were born.

  67. Just imagine that, eh?

  68. That

  69. the things that God had planned

  70. for me before I was born

  71. are the things he deserves and he

  72. must get before I leave the earth.

  73. But to accomplish or to grant

  74. him the inheritance that he wants

  75. to give me to accomplish his purpose,

  76. I must have a different spirit.

  77. And that's what we're talking about today.

  78. How do you cultivate a different spirit?

  79. Because he wants this for all his children,

  80. but very few actually take the effort

  81. to go through a process

  82. that will get you there. So what do you have

  83. to cut out of your life if you want

  84. to have a different spirit

  85. like Caleb did?

  86. I love the fact,

  87. let me repeat it again, I love

  88. the fact that my inheritance is his

  89. purpose.

  90. I love the fact that my inheritance

  91. is his purpose. Here on earth, we don't

  92. understand that concept. Parents

  93. labor so that they can leave an inheritance

  94. to their children and all it benefits

  95. is the children.

  96. But when God says I give you an inheritance,

  97. what he's saying is, I have certain

  98. plans for the earth since the fall

  99. to restore it back. And you,

  100. my son or my daughter, are part of that

  101. plan, so I want to give you your inheritance

  102. so that my purpose is maybe

  103. accomplished.

  104. And you have to have a different spirit for that.

  105. And so the first thing you cut out,

  106. if you want this

  107. different spirit, is

  108. you must cut through lack.

  109. You must cut through

  110. lack.

  111. You must cut through

  112. lack. It's what drives

  113. us. You'll be surprised at

  114. how much lack

  115. drives us.

  116. How much lack drives us.

  117. Lack drives

  118. almost everything we do.

  119. And I'm not talking about lack because of money.

  120. What do you do when you lack dignity?

  121. You do something to gain dignity. What do you do

  122. when you lack purpose? You become ambitious.

  123. Ambition isn't a Christian quality.

  124. Ambition is so limited, so limited.

  125. It's like 30 rags.

  126. How much can you imagine with

  127. your two pounds of grey matter?

  128. Not much. God sets

  129. dreams. Man sets ambitions.

  130. And then begins to pursue them.

  131. Lack drives everything.

  132. What's the solution to it?

  133. If you want to cut through lack, you have to come to this

  134. simple understanding we talked about maybe

  135. two years ago. You have to understand

  136. that a sum lacks

  137. nothing. A sum

  138. lacks nothing.

  139. A sum lacks nothing.

  140. Once you come

  141. to this place of understanding that a sum lacks

  142. nothing, then you no

  143. longer try to fill a lack.

  144. Why? Because the moment you say

  145. a sum lacks nothing, what do you say?

  146. That my father has everything.

  147. You cannot say a sum

  148. lacks nothing unless you come to

  149. the recognition that the father has

  150. everything. A sum lacks

  151. nothing. So it no longer

  152. matters what I have in my wallet or

  153. I don't have. It no longer matters whether

  154. I have dignity in your right or not.

  155. It no longer matters whether I have purpose

  156. here on earth or not.

  157. Nothing matters anymore because everything

  158. that a man needs,

  159. the seven essentials that we've talked about,

  160. is provided not by

  161. anybody here on earth, but it is provided

  162. by the father, which is why a sum

  163. lacks nothing.

  164. You do not look at what you have to determine

  165. whether you have it or not. You look at

  166. someone. You do not look at what. You look

  167. at who. A sum lacks

  168. nothing. And by the same token, a

  169. servant owns nothing.

  170. Because I'm a son first, then

  171. I'm a servant. So a sum

  172. lacks nothing. A servant owns

  173. nothing. This is the prosperity gospel.

  174. Everything else is a distortion of this.

  175. A sum

  176. lacks nothing. A servant owns nothing.

  177. Now, God begins to cause

  178. things to flow through your life at a rate

  179. you cannot imagine.

  180. No longer do I look

  181. at what I have or what I don't have to determine

  182. whether I actually have it or not.

  183. Because it actually is in the hand

  184. of somebody else who I'm vitally connected

  185. to, whose spirit and my spirit are one.

  186. So every time there is a lack,

  187. it's just kind of fill it.

  188. You fill yourself with

  189. someone, not with something.

  190. It's absolutely doable, guys. It's just a way of

  191. thinking. And then

  192. once it is filled, you do not own it

  193. for a second. You do not own it

  194. for a second. And once you decide

  195. that you don't own anything, what can Satan

  196. touch?

  197. Nothing.

  198. Hey, what do you think

  199. happens when he wants to disturb

  200. you? What does he touch? He touches one of these

  201. things. Your money,

  202. your dignity,

  203. or your pride,

  204. your possessions,

  205. your security.

  206. These are the things he touches.

  207. And so we react. Touch my security

  208. and now I've got to do everything in my power

  209. to secure it again. I've got to control things.

  210. I've got to manipulate things. Why?

  211. Because I've got to make things secure again.

  212. Touch my pride and I react again.

  213. Because I want my dignity restored.

  214. At the end of the day, if as a son

  215. you lack

  216. nothing, and as a servant, you own

  217. nothing, you finally come to this

  218. place where you are living free.

  219. This is why in John chapter 13, he puts it

    John 13 chapter mention

  220. this way. Jesus knowing where

  221. he had come from,

  222. where did he come from? From his father's house.

  223. What was he? A son.

  224. And knowing where he was going and how was he walking

  225. the earth as a servant?

  226. Knowing where he had come from and knowing

  227. where he was going, what did he do? He took a bucket

  228. of water, knelt down before his

  229. disciples, and started washing his feet. Because his

  230. dignity did not depend on what you thought of him.

  231. Cut through life. Cut

  232. through life. Do you realize

  233. that it is possible that

  234. many of us will move, will take up jobs,

  235. will do things, will

  236. change situations wide

  237. to provide for a lack?

  238. Never be forced into doing anything because

  239. you have a lack.

  240. Lack is a cruel master.

  241. It will drive you to do things, man.

  242. It competes with God, eh?

  243. It competes with God.

  244. What is lack? Lack at the end of the day

  245. is either having the security or not having the security

  246. that you need. And that's another

  247. word for mammon. Mammon actually is not

  248. money. Mammon is security.

  249. Mammon is security.

  250. It just so happens that mammon

  251. gives you security, so we

  252. connect mammon and money. But mammon

  253. at the end of the day is actually security.

  254. How are you constantly striving for it?

  255. Cut through lack.

  256. So,

  257. let's just pray.

  258. Father,

  259. some of us here

  260. are driven by lack.

  261. All of us here

  262. are driven by some lack or the other.

  263. Sometimes it's a lack of money.

  264. Sometimes it's a lack of security.

  265. Sometimes it's a lack of dignity

  266. or worth.

  267. Are we constantly

  268. reacting, Father, to lack?

  269. Constantly being driven by it.

  270. Today, Father, we put an end to it.

  271. In the name of Jesus Christ,

  272. I break

  273. being driven by lack

  274. in my life. I break

  275. being driven by lack

  276. in my life.

  277. I don't want to be driven by lack,

  278. oh God. It's

  279. such a pathetic master compared

  280. to you. I repent, oh God.

  281. And I come

  282. saying that I want to be a son

  283. who owns, who

  284. lacks nothing because he has

  285. a good, good father.

  286. Teach me,

  287. Father, that your pockets are full

  288. of everything I need

  289. for life and godliness

  290. that you have it.

  291. And so, as a son, I lack nothing.

  292. And as a servant,

  293. I will not own anything.

  294. I won't put my hand and hold anything,

  295. Father.

  296. My hands will always be open above.

  297. That then

  298. allows you to let things

  299. flow in and out of my life.

  300. We want this as a church,

  301. Father. We want this as a church.

  302. In Jesus' name.

  303. I don't know whether you know the story.

  304. Many years ago, Acts 29

  305. was as generous as it is today.

  306. And it would

  307. run into the red every month.

  308. We didn't have money to pay the red

  309. fees. Crown. People would have to

  310. put in extra money to make the rent.

  311. I remember asking

  312. Heidi, saying, Heidi,

  313. is there something wrong with my giving?

  314. Just check my giving because the

  315. pastor is a miser that the church won't

  316. prosper. And so she

  317. said, no, your giving has been fine.

  318. So, son asking God as a

  319. leadership, Father, what is it that we're doing wrong?

  320. Why is it that we're going to the

  321. red every month?

  322. And so one of the things I found the Lord saying was

  323. whenever you raise money

  324. for India or Indonesia

  325. or any of those things, even though

  326. you have money in the bank, you will come to the

  327. church and say to the church, let's raise some money

  328. for India. Let's raise some money for Indonesia. Let's raise

  329. some money for this. But you never touch

  330. the money in the bank because that's your

  331. nest egg.

  332. And we realized that our security

  333. was with the money in the bank.

  334. So here's what we decided to do.

  335. We decided to break

  336. lack by giving away the very

  337. thing we lack.

  338. And so we took 60% of what

  339. was in the bank and gave it

  340. to three poor churches in Vancouver.

  341. Brought out checks to three churches

  342. and now we had less.

  343. And now the rent is coming up too.

  344. Because one of the ways you break lack

  345. is by giving away the very thing you lack

  346. so that you have broken

  347. the fear that it has

  348. had over you. The torment

  349. that fear brings makes you

  350. get worse. So we gave it away.

  351. And

  352. two days later

  353. a guy called Henry, who is no

  354. longer alive, calls me

  355. from Abbotsford. I knew him from eight

  356. years ago. And he had a dream.

  357. And in that dream,

  358. he had just sold his house. And in

  359. that dream, God is saying to him, call

  360. Jacob. His church is on

  361. South East Marine and Ross.

  362. Ask him whether his church is on

  363. South East Marine and Ross. And once he says

  364. yes, give him a part of

  365. the profits of the sale of the house.

  366. So this guy then

  367. calls me up and says,

  368. is your church on South East Marine and Ross?

  369. And we used to meet there and that. And he has no idea.

  370. So God shows him. And I say yes.

  371. He says, well, I just sold the house

  372. and I've got some profits from it.

  373. And the guy says, I've got to give you a share of the profits.

  374. I said, sure. And he sends us a check

  375. that was ten times more than

  376. what he gave away.

  377. Ten times more. It was the largest

  378. check I had seen.

  379. And I remember waving it in front of

  380. the church and saying, guys, we

  381. repented corporately. God rewards corporately.

  382. At the end of the day,

  383. we must cut through lack.

  384. The next thing

  385. is cut through

  386. limitations. Cut through limitations.

  387. Cut through limitations.

  388. Cut through limitations.

  389. Cut through limitations.

  390. Moses.

  391. Man, it starts in Exodus 3.14.

  392. God begins to speak to Moses at the burning

  393. bush. I mean, if I had a burning bush experience,

  394. I'd be thrilled. Moses is

  395. thrilled. But God starts in Exodus

  396. 3.14. By the time it gets to Exodus

  397. 4.10, even God,

  398. who is patient and gracious and

  399. compassionate, is getting a little irritated.

  400. Because this man

  401. continuously is telling God how he

  402. can't do it. And in Exodus

  403. 4.10 to 14,

  404. look at what's happening.

  405. Exodus 4.10 to 14.

  406. Moses said to the Lord, O Lord,

  407. I have never been eloquent,

  408. neither in the past, nor since you have spoken

  409. to your servant. I am slow of speech

  410. and tongue. The Lord said to him, who gave man

  411. his mouth? Who makes him deaf from you?

  412. Who gives him sight or makes him blind?

  413. Is it not I, the Lord? Now

  414. go, I will help you speak and

  415. teach you what to say. But Moses said, O Lord,

  416. please send someone else.

  417. And there is this whole idea

  418. of how we put limitations

  419. on ourselves, eh?

  420. Cut through limitations.

  421. A different spirit is the spirit

  422. that understands that if God is

  423. actually inviting you, either

  424. through a person or directly,

  425. that your limitations

  426. now are still there, but they

  427. no longer matter.

  428. Moses was perhaps a scoundrel.

  429. Moses was perhaps someone who had lived

  430. far too long in the backside of the desert

  431. to have the qualities that he had

  432. when he was the Prince of Egypt. But

  433. your limitations don't matter.

  434. Cut through limitations.

  435. If you want to be of a different spirit.

  436. Remember how old Caleb is?

  437. Caleb is now 84.

  438. And look at what he does.

  439. He doesn't even cut through limitations.

  440. He wants to challenge his limitations.

  441. He said, give me those hills. Give me those

  442. hills where the anachs swell.

  443. I'm 84.

  444. Don't give them to some young

  445. fellow who's

  446. 24. Give it to me.

  447. They have chariots that have wheels, that have

  448. spokes, that are made of iron that can

  449. rip other chariots apart. Please, please,

  450. please give me the hardest job possible.

  451. Man, the limitations, you know something?

  452. Of course you know.

  453. We can get so

  454. nandy-tandy in the West, man.

  455. As in

  456. everything seems to have

  457. some disease or some

  458. syndrome connected to it.

  459. Do this, don't do it because the last time

  460. someone did this, this happened to them. That

  461. happened to them. Time for us Christians

  462. to rise up and say, these limitations

  463. do not apply.

  464. What kind of God is this?

  465. Everything has a syndrome or

  466. a name attached to it.

  467. One of the words I decided as soon

  468. as I came to Canada, because I heard it

  469. in every conversation every day, that I

  470. decided I would never use in my life, was the word

  471. stress. Got tired

  472. of hearing how, it didn't

  473. matter, if you didn't have coffee for a day you were

  474. stressed. If you had traffic problems you were

  475. stressed. There was nothing that wasn't

  476. stressful. And so I decided, well I'll use

  477. some other words because this is the beginning of

  478. Swallow Me Up.

  479. Words matter.

  480. I'm not, I'm not

  481. dissing stress. Stress is

  482. real in the lives of people and it has

  483. devastated lives.

  484. But hey, we

  485. can't use the same limitations that the

  486. world is using and put it on us

  487. and say this is how we are going to live.

  488. You can't put the limitation

  489. of your age on you and say, I'm

  490. now 84 therefore God cannot.

  491. You can't say, I've got a new job

  492. therefore I cannot. You can't say

  493. school has started again therefore I cannot.

  494. You can't say, you

  495. can't say.

  496. You can't say.

  497. Particularly you being

  498. unfair, you don't know how difficult my life is. I don't.

  499. But you know how difficult my life is

  500. either and I will not say.

  501. Any questions, or any challenges, or any

  502. disabilities to what I'm going to say?

  503. Guys I'm not asking you to turn up in

  504. church and for meetings.

  505. I'm not asking you to

  506. sit down and talk about

  507. anything. I'm not asking you

  508. not to say no when God says yes.

  509. This is not about attending more meetings.

  510. You may not have time for that. But my

  511. God, when God says if you do something

  512. you better not bring up limitations.

  513. You stick through it.

  514. You stand up and say

  515. I've counted the cost, I can't pay it.

  516. God will pay it.

  517. Or don't for a second thing that what God is asking you to do

  518. you can pay the cost for.

  519. You will count the cost. All Jesus meant by that

  520. parable when he spoke in the Bible was simple.

  521. He said count the cost. As soon as you count it

  522. you realize you can't pay it.

  523. And now that you can't pay it

  524. come depend on me, I'll take you through.

  525. He wasn't saying count the cost and then decide whether you follow me.

  526. Because if you count it the cost, none of us would follow it.

  527. I feel bad for these guys I met in counters this morning.

  528. They had no idea what they were getting into.

  529. Some of you felt on the same trip.

  530. You had no idea what you were getting into.

  531. You said yes and then followed.

  532. Any questions, Beth?

  533. Any disagreements?

  534. Any challenges?

  535. Where's Diana?

  536. Oh.

  537. I'm sorry.

  538. Oh.

  539. Not good that Emily is on this side and Diana is there.

  540. It's like...

  541. Good job, here, Emily.

  542. I guess

  543. I'm wondering if God calls you to something

  544. and you're like these are my limitations.

  545. I'm ignoring them. I'm going to put them aside

  546. to do what you have called me to do.

  547. And then when you're doing the thing

  548. they still like you.

  549. Yeah. So.

  550. So let's take Paul as an example.

  551. Paul has limitations. Paul probably had bad eyesight.

  552. Paul was perhaps not

  553. very skilled at speaking

  554. so he probably had something like a stamina.

  555. Paul was perhaps fat.

  556. He couldn't move around

  557. very easily. He talks about that.

  558. Paul was weak.

  559. Paul was in full.

  560. Paul was beaten more than anybody else.

  561. But he had his ability

  562. despite all these limitations

  563. to keep clogging on, knowing

  564. that he had limitations.

  565. We haven't discovered this thing called

  566. when I am weak, he is strong.

  567. We do not understand it.

  568. When I am weak, he is strong

  569. is when the God of the universe

  570. who created the entire universe

  571. with his breath

  572. suddenly begins to

  573. come upon you and dwells upon your body.

  574. Dwells upon your

  575. on your tired

  576. mind.

  577. Invigorates your spirit where he lives.

  578. Dwells upon your emotions.

  579. And he literally

  580. tends.

  581. And when he does that, something strange

  582. begins to happen.

  583. There is a world in Acts 14, 19

  584. which blows my mind away.

  585. So in Lystra

  586. some men from Derby

  587. and Antioch came

  588. and they caught Paul and they stoned him.

  589. And they left him for dead.

  590. After they had left

  591. Paul got up

  592. and look what he does.

  593. I can understand the Gerrida.

  594. And went right back into the city.

  595. If I had got up from being dead

  596. I would go the other way.

  597. This man had absolutely

  598. no sense. He goes back right into the

  599. city. Because we have

  600. not. I pray God that one day

  601. God give us enough insight to begin this

  602. study about what does it mean when

  603. it says that in your weakness I am

  604. strong.

  605. What does it mean when God says my

  606. power will come and dwell

  607. on you in your weakness. I have experienced

  608. it sometimes.

  609. You can be starved to sleep

  610. where your body does not want to stand.

  611. But then you go up there and stand

  612. and you are in pain because of the sickness of disease.

  613. And then you go up and stand.

  614. You just had something terrible

  615. that has devastated you.

  616. And you go up and stand.

  617. You do not have the strength.

  618. And you go up and stand

  619. and something else happens.

  620. I remember once

  621. I was going to this place called Unti.

  622. Heidi was there.

  623. And then Anne and someone else came.

  624. I was in such bad shape

  625. but I knew that if I went and stood

  626. and began speaking that the power of God

  627. would descend on me and my body would

  628. be like a lean mean fighting

  629. machine. The lean was my idea.

  630. The mean fighting machine was God's.

  631. And I remember standing there

  632. hour after hour after hour.

  633. There is something to the

  634. power of God dwelling on something that is

  635. beautiful. It transforms it.

  636. Because we are talking about

  637. someone who fills the universe.

  638. We are talking about the spirit of God who was there

  639. before. I mean you cannot imagine

  640. the chaos and the emptiness that existed.

  641. We do not understand darkness,

  642. emptiness, chaos. Light was

  643. before Genesis 1.1.

  644. And we never know this till we try it out.

  645. And when we try it out

  646. something transformational happens.

  647. I have seen it far too many times

  648. but I have seen it in my life.

  649. I remember coming down from

  650. you cannot see even this.

  651. I am telling you stories there where people can

  652. see the light and the darkness

  653. and the light is coming down from the

  654. dark side.

  655. And I remember coming down from

  656. the dark side. I am telling you stories there where people can

  657. actually verify.

  658. We are coming down from the mountains of

  659. Ketanatha and I knew just wanting that

  660. if I do not stay awake and keep praying

  661. keep speaking in tongues and keep singing

  662. that after the damage we had done in those

  663. mountains to deities that are ferocious

  664. that it would not be good.

  665. And so it did not matter that it was a

  666. nine and a half hour journey for nine and a half

  667. hours. And I have never done this before in my life.

  668. For nine and a half hours

  669. I was either praying or worshiping

  670. or speaking in tongues because I knew that our

  671. safety depended on someone being awake.

  672. I cannot do 30 minutes

  673. normally.

  674. 30 minutes is way too much for me.

  675. I do not pray much.

  676. Wrong confession.

  677. What I meant is I do not pray long.

  678. There are impossible things that we can do.

  679. Guys, there is this thing to Elijah

  680. curling up his loins and running faster than Ahab's chariot.

  681. These things are real.

  682. And they are

  683. sheerly by the power of the Spirit of God.

  684. I am so glad that Acts 29

  685. will experience it.

  686. I am not saying one or two.

  687. This chariot is

  688. the most powerful

  689. thing in the world.

  690. It is the most powerful thing in the world.

  691. It is the most powerful thing in the world.

  692. I am not saying one or two.

  693. This church will see what it is.

  694. To be a church that the Spirit of God

  695. has the ability to do

  696. things with.

  697. Because we are a bunch of nobodies, man.

  698. No talent here.

  699. Next one. We won't finish much.

  700. We may have to continue it later.

  701. Cut through the blame game.

  702. Cut through the blame game.

  703. I started in the Garden of Eden.

  704. My wife made me do it.

  705. Since then, there has been someone

  706. to blame for

  707. things.

  708. And one of the things

  709. about having an excellent spirit

  710. or a different spirit is to

  711. stop the blame game.

  712. Joseph in Genesis 50, verse 20

    Genesis 50:20

  713. is being confronted by his

  714. brothers who know that their dad has died,

  715. their Jacob has died, and now

  716. Joseph may have a free hand with them.

  717. And the one thing that prevented him from

  718. doing us harm is now removed and now he's

  719. going to harm us. And he puts it this way.

  720. Hey, the cool thing about Joseph's

  721. statement is this. He isn't denying

  722. that his brothers treated him badly.

  723. He's saying, you actually

  724. intended me evil.

  725. When we say cut through the blame game,

  726. we are not saying

  727. do not assign

  728. blame to someone who's done you harm.

  729. Meaning the person harmed you.

  730. But what you

  731. intended as evil

  732. God has turned to good.

  733. We're not exonerating those that did us harm.

  734. We've got to be careful of them

  735. so that they don't do us harm again.

  736. But we're not going to blame

  737. for more than a day

  738. those that have done us harm.

  739. More than a day

  740. is far too much.

  741. But Jacob, you have no idea how badly

  742. they've harmed me. True. So start

  743. the next day. So what if

  744. it takes you a year to get

  745. healed? But start the next day.

  746. The longer you pitch tent

  747. in that valley, the harder

  748. it will be to get out of the valley.

  749. I'm not saying it'll go away in a day.

  750. Perhaps it will. God can do amazing

  751. things.

  752. But what if it is something that has to be

  753. worked through? Well then

  754. start tomorrow.

  755. What Satan started in Eden, Freud

  756. continued in

  757. the recent past.

  758. Right? He gave us

  759. permission to blame everything

  760. on someone or something.

  761. Time to stop it.

  762. Am I stop? Really?

  763. I don't mean exonerate the person.

  764. Say that, yeah, Sheldon

  765. you meant to do me harm.

  766. But God used it for?

  767. Good.

  768. But you start immediately.

  769. You start the very next day.

  770. And then if it takes six months

  771. that's okay. But start the next day.

  772. Because you've already begun climbing out of the valley.

  773. Any questions on that one?

  774. Hey, so

  775. sure your parents made mistakes

  776. and messed you up.

  777. Someone messed them up.

  778. And they messed you up.

  779. Someone's got to break the cycle.

  780. Sure that pastor treated you badly

  781. and now you're messed up for the rest of your life.

  782. Maybe nobody messed him up. Maybe he was just

  783. being nasty to you. Stopped the blame game.

  784. How long?

  785. Man, what is at stake? At stake

  786. is our inheritance.

  787. What is this inheritance?

  788. God's eternal purpose through you

  789. here on earth that is now

  790. lying there waiting to be revived.

  791. Any questions?

  792. Sheldon, you're not being sympathetic. No, not in this

  793. message. Maybe two minutes

  794. from now we'll talk about comfort.

  795. Because we can't incorporate all aspects of God

  796. in one message, eh?

  797. Yeah. Oh well, it was

  798. a really good message but it didn't bring

  799. the comfort of God. We, I half-hear

  800. 10 minutes.

  801. Next one.

  802. Cut through

  803. negativity.

  804. Cut through negativity

  805. because it leads

  806. to unbelief.

  807. Because it leads to unbelief.

  808. Cut through negativity.

  809. If you have really negative

  810. people in your life,

  811. either jump out of the boat

  812. or throw them over the boat.

  813. One of them.

  814. Because it will

  815. kill faith, it will lead to unbelief.

  816. Unless you're called to that person.

  817. Unless you're called to that person.

  818. And you hope the person is

  819. not going to kill you. And you stick with the person as long as you need to.

  820. And then, even that

  821. yeah.

  822. But Jesus

  823. had to do with it. He goes to raise

  824. that girl and there are these

  825. mourners there that are continuously mourning

  826. because they were hired mourners.

  827. They were lamenting what had happened.

  828. And Jesus had to send them out.

  829. Why? Because of the unbelief

  830. that would come in when he was

  831. there to restore life. They are absolutely

  832. sure that she is dead.

  833. And she was. And they continued

  834. saying it. Hey, all my life

  835. I've made sure that if I'm with

  836. someone who negates the

  837. purposes of God in my life, that I'll either

  838. speak contrary to that

  839. or I will leave your presence

  840. and not find you

  841. as someone

  842. I want to hang out with.

  843. Because there are certain

  844. things that are so precious from God

  845. that I cannot have

  846. them trample over.

  847. Come through negativity.

  848. If you're a person who always speaks negatively

  849. and there have been times when I've

  850. been like that, remember one thing guys.

  851. You never possess what you despise.

  852. You never possess what you despise.

  853. You never possess what you

  854. despise. That is one of

  855. the lessons I have to learn. I

  856. realize that I despise things that

  857. certain pastors and certain churches do.

  858. And I despise them to a point

  859. where I don't even want to touch

  860. stuff like that. What then happened

  861. was as I began to despise the

  862. things that pastors do in a

  863. manipulative

  864. dramatic show-offy kind of

  865. way, there were good

  866. things that were perverted. And so what happened

  867. is actually when I began to miss out

  868. on the very things that God wanted to do in our midst

  869. because your pastor would despise those

  870. things. You never possess what you despise.

  871. An example.

  872. I

  873. despised big churches.

  874. I despised

  875. getting people to

  876. say things or call them to

  877. the altar and have them repent and stuff

  878. like that. I despised having

  879. the Holy Spirit follow people because I thought

  880. there was so much drama in that.

  881. I despised people falling over after

  882. a while because I saw such

  883. charlatans who used to do it.

  884. I despised these things.

  885. But they are authentic. They have

  886. been distorted. And as you begin to despise

  887. these things, guess what?

  888. The people under your care are rocked over.

  889. What you despise you do not possess.

  890. Controversiality.

  891. Really.

  892. If you're surrounded by

  893. in-laws, parents,

  894. brothers, sisters that are constantly

  895. bringing up that which is negative and God

  896. has given you a different promise,

  897. then you need to

  898. create six degrees of separation.

  899. Because that will keep you

  900. from slipping

  901. into unbelief.

  902. Or have the courage to tell them

  903. that they should not be saying the things they're

  904. saying because you are believing for

  905. something else. Why? Because either the Word has

  906. told you or God has told you.

  907. Let's do one more and then we can stop.

  908. Katsu fear.

  909. Katsu fear.

  910. Katsu fear.

  911. David, first Samuel, 1732.

  912. Saul is kind of frightened, hey?

  913. David's going around

  914. and that story

  915. so highlights this whole negative thingy.

  916. So he's going around saying, hey, why are you guys

  917. hiding? You just finished your morning prayer

  918. and praised Jehovah.

  919. So why are you guys diving into your

  920. foxholes after a worship service?

  921. And they say, because there's this giant

  922. called Balaam coming up. So David says,

  923. so why doesn't someone take down the giant?

  924. And so his brother comes out and says,

  925. stop talking like a fool. Why are you

  926. saying stuff like this? What are you

  927. here for? Who sent you here?

  928. But David knows that this is

  929. something that he can't stand.

  930. He has the faith it takes to bring down

  931. this giant.

  932. And so he goes to Saul and Saul scares

  933. him too. Saul is the king and he's scaring

  934. him, saying, really bad

  935. idea for you to go up against Balaam.

  936. The best thing you can do is perhaps wear

  937. my armor and you go and take it.

  938. And David has this whole idea. But I have

  939. fought Balaam a little better.

  940. What can this uncircumcised philistine do to me?

  941. He's a dog.

  942. So cut through fear.

  943. Lack in fear cripple us.

  944. Lack in fear cripple us.

  945. Lack in fear cripple us.

  946. Lack in fear cripple us.

  947. Fear, if not checked,

  948. grows exponentially.

  949. Fear is not, if not checked,

  950. grows very, very quickly.

  951. It's one of the fastest growing things in the

  952. world.

  953. The range at which fear grows

  954. is amazing.

  955. It just multiplies exponentially.

  956. And unfortunately

  957. with fear comes torment.

  958. Because now the mind and the emotions

  959. are tormented. What's going to happen next?

  960. And this is why in 1 John 4

  961. 18 it says, what it says, where it says

  962. that in perfect

  963. love there is no fear.

  964. And perfect

  965. love casts out fear. Because fear

  966. carries in it this idea of punishment of

  967. torment. And anyone who

  968. does not, anyone who

  969. has fear does not love perfectly.

  970. Listen to that. If you're afraid of God

  971. and by saying if you're afraid of God

  972. some of us may have an awe or dread

  973. of God. If you're afraid that God will not

  974. come through, if you're afraid of

  975. God is neutral, if you're afraid

  976. of God is not

  977. active today, if you're afraid of God will not

  978. take care of me, if you're afraid of, if you're

  979. afraid of, then know that with it

  980. will come torment.

  981. So the only way to fight fear is to

  982. grab fear immediately by the throat

  983. and start choking it.

  984. One or the other will win. Either it

  985. will choke you or you will choke it.

  986. And it has to be immediate.

  987. One of the things I've learned is as soon as fear comes

  988. you've got to grab it by the throat and start

  989. squeezing the life out of it.

  990. Because it needs very little oxygen.

  991. And with it will come torment.

  992. Perfect love casts out fear.

  993. 1 John 4 18.

  994. Constantly go back there, right?

  995. Constantly fall back on this idea

  996. that my father loves me.

  997. When you're in trouble, my father loves me.

  998. When you're sinning, your father loves me.

  999. When you're scared, my father loves me.

1000. When you're hurting, my father loves me.

1001. When you're in pain, my father loves me.

  1002. In everything, everything

1003. is my father loves me.

1004. Guys, once you get there,

1005. then every human relationship is a bonus.

  1006. Because perfect love

1007. you will not find here on earth with yourself,

  1008. brother, sister, friend, nobody.

  1009. Cat, definitely not.

  1010. Dog, there's a possibility.

1011. But at the end of the day,

1012. because I'm loved by my father,

1013. human love which is brilliant

  1014. is a bonus.

1015. Human love which is brilliant

  1016. is a bonus.

1017. This is how it works.

1018. I'm going to stop you, but let me just go over these.

1019. Let's just take some time to

  1020. repent if we've

1021. been through any of this.

1022. So just take a couple of minutes

1023. to look at that which we've been

  1024. struggling with most.

1025. Let me just ask God to help us

1026. just turn away from this, just

  1027. repent from this.

  1028. Cut through lack.

1029. Lack of money, lack of dignity,

  1030. worth.

  1031. Why am I proud?

  1032. I'm proud because there's a lack

1033. of dignity or worth. When you touch my dignity

1034. or worth, I become proud

  1035. and react.

  1036. Why am I manipulating

1037. or controlling? Because I either lack security

1038. or you're taking away something from me

1039. that I now need to control and manipulate

1040. so I can get it back.

1041. With money it's the same thing. Lack forces

1042. me to do things because

1043. money is where my security

  1044. lies. There's no idea

  1045. how lack drives everything.

1046. Jesus didn't live like this,

1047. he owned nothing, he lacked

1048. nothing. As a son he owned

1049. nothing, as a servant he lacked

  1050. nothing.

  1051. So pick one

1052. or two that you are struggling with

  1053. and we just pray.

  1054. Cut through limitations.

1055. Cut through the blaming game.

1056. Cut through the blaming game.

1057. Trust me I'm not saying that because I

1058. am thinking of anyone, you'll have to

1059. just take my word for it.

  1060. I'm saying it because

  1061. I really think

  1062. God is saying this.

  1063. If churches and pastors

  1064. have hurt you

  1065. to the point where

  1066. it's really bothering you

  1067. and it's

  1068. devastated your faith,

  1069. stop walking out

  1070. of that valley.

1071. I may have done that to you.

1072. Don't make me keep you

  1073. in that valley man.

1074. Because you have an inheritance that you will not get.

1075. I'm not even aware of it, but sometimes if I'm aware of it

1076. I'm not having to hear from my father.

  1077. Don't stay there.

1078. Cut through negativity and cut through fear.

  1079. So father,

  1080. so father,
