  1. So here's what God said, even though it's yesterday, it seems like eight years ago.

  2. Here's what God said, so don't be afraid.

  3. I'm with you.

  4. I will bring your children from the east and gather them from the west.

  5. I will send orders north and south.

  6. I will say to the north, give them up and to the south, do not hold them back.

  7. Return my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth.

  8. I want them back.

  9. Every last one of them who bears my name, every man, woman and child whom I created

  10. for my glory, he has personally formed and made each one.

  11. How wonderful and beautiful they will be.

  12. Young men will thrive on abundant grain and the young women will flourish on new wine.

  13. You will raise up young men and young women, bishops, strong apostolic ministry, strong

  14. teachers going out from your company and they will reproduce this anointing.

  15. Your young people will freely join you at the break of dawn with all the vigor of youth

  16. resplendent in holy armor on the day of your conquest.

  17. I'm going to read it out again.

  18. One of the things I've been asking the Holy Spirit to help me with is to imagine what

  19. this looks like.

  20. Not an imagination that is Jacob generated but an imagination that is Spirit generated

  21. that Jacob imagines.

  22. I would suggest you do that too because sometimes God puts pieces of a puzzle together by inspiring

  23. divine imagination.

  24. And so let me read it again.

  25. And this is something that God gave as a word for us for the next two or three years hopefully

  26. where what he wants to do on the earth amongst the teenagers, the 20s, the 30s and even the

  27. 40s will be accomplished because he wants to bring about a revival in those that are

  28. young so that the ship that has veered off course will come right back on course.

  29. It is not specific to any denomination.

  30. And if you didn't listen to what we were talking about yesterday, please go and listen because

  31. it will give you a background.

  32. I'm reading it again.

  33. So don't be afraid and feel free to read it if you're at home.

  34. So don't be afraid because the more we agree with and speak out the promises of God, the

  35. more the Spirit realm hears it, the more the Jacob realm hears it, his mind and his spirit

  36. and soul engage with it.

  37. And God hears it too.

  38. And he opens his books as he says in Haggai and he writes down those that remembered and

  39. spoke about him and his word.

  40. So join me.

  41. So don't be afraid.

  42. I am with you.

  43. I will bring your children from the east and gather them from the west.

  44. I'll send orders north and south.

  45. I will say to the north, give them up and to the south, do not hold them back.

  46. Return my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth.

  47. I want them back.

  48. Every last one who bears my name.

  49. Every man, woman and child whom I created for my glory.

  50. Yes, personally formed and made each one.

  51. How wonderful and beautiful they will be.

  52. The young men will thrive on abundant grain and the young women will flourish on new wine.

  53. You will raise up young men and young women, bishops, strong apostolic ministries, strong

  54. teachers going out from your company and they will reproduce this anointing.

  55. Your young adults or your young people will freely join you at the break of dawn with

  56. all the vigor of youth resplendent in holy armor on the day of your conquest.

  57. Hallelujah.

  58. So guys, today what I want to talk about is that for God to bring about this revival across

  59. the earth, beginning in this city, beginning in our midst and through us, we need to talk

  60. about being freshly baptized in the Holy Spirit.

  61. So that's what we'll be talking about today.

  62. I just want to remind us that revival is the descent.

  63. Revival is the descent, the quickening, the outpouring.

  64. Revival is and always has been the descent, the quickening and the outpouring of the Holy

  65. Spirit, of the Holy Spirit with extraordinary power, with extraordinary power.

  66. He is powerful, He is present ordinarily, but when we talk about a revival, we are talking

  67. about the descent, the quickening or the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in extraordinary power.

  68. And the other cool thing is, it's brought about, I love this, brought about by the intercession

  69. of Jesus Christ.

  70. It is brought about by the intercession of Jesus Christ.

  71. I was so relieved to know that, that as much as it is good to pray, it is brought about

  72. by the intercession of Jesus Christ.

  73. We read about this in Romans 8.34.

  74. It is brought about by the intercession of Jesus Christ.

  75. What does it do?

  76. It brings new life to the church.

  77. It brings new life to the church.

  78. And it converts those that do not know Him.

  79. It converts or it pours grace, grace and conversion of those who do not know Him or of those unconverted.

  80. When does this happen?

  81. It happens from time to time throughout church history.

  82. It happens from time to time throughout church history.

  83. One of the things that really astounds me is that it is happening now and that we have

  84. been given the heads up and we get to be part of it.

  85. That astounds me.

  86. I can never wrap my head around things that God invites us to take part in when He is

  87. doing it and when there are so many other places He can go.

  88. This then just further expands our understanding of revival.

  89. It is the descent, the quickening.

  90. And I go over this because it just takes the pressure off us.

  91. When we realize that revival is a descent of the Holy Spirit, the outpouring of the

  92. Holy Spirit in extraordinary power, it is not an ordinary way that He always is.

  93. I mean even His ordinary is highly extraordinary.

  94. But what does it mean when it says extraordinary power?

  95. It takes the pressure off me.

  96. And then I love it that it is brought about by the intercession of Jesus Christ, the Lord

  97. of heaven and earth.

  98. It is He who intercedes for this to happen.

  99. He who intercedes for this to happen.

  100. And in the process His intent is to bring new life here on earth and to bring new life

  101. here to the church and then pour His grace out on those that have not known Him yet.

  102. And this happens time and time again through church history.

  103. And so today I just want to talk about the baptism of the Spirit.

  104. A baptism of the Spirit.

  105. And it applies to every Baptist, every Presbyterian, every Pentecostal, charismatic, Lutheran,

  106. not reformed, free, not free church.

  107. Covers everybody.

  108. So the baptism in the Spirit, when we talk about the baptism in the Spirit, I am not

  109. going to go doctrine on you.

  110. But what I am saying is the baptism in the Spirit must be, there must be an emphasis

  111. on the experiential nature.

  112. There must be an emphasis on the experience or the experiential nature of the Holy Spirit.

  113. Not so much the doctrine that the mind can comprehend.

  114. I don't think there is a problem with what the mind can comprehend.

  115. We can teach on that for the next eight hours.

  116. Really, I mean that in all sincerity.

  117. But we are talking about the baptism of the Spirit as in experiencing the Spirit's presence.

  118. Experience of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

  119. So the emphasis today will be on the experience of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

  120. Because we are talking about extraordinary power.

  121. And it's been very long since I experienced this.

  122. Extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit.

  123. Extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit.

  124. Why?

  125. So that we can engage in Christ exalting ministry.

  126. So that we can engage in Christ exalting ministry.

  127. That's what revivals look like.

  128. Extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit.

  129. So that we can engage in Christ exalting ministry.

  130. The strange thing is guys, Christ himself needed it.

  131. To engage in the kind of ministry that Christ engaged in, he required the extraordinary

  132. power of the Holy Spirit.

  133. And today we are going to ask God to give us the experience of the presence of the Holy

  134. Spirit.

  135. Every believer cannot be a believer unless he has the Holy Spirit in him.

  136. Every believer receives the Holy Spirit in his fullness.

  137. Holy Spirit is a person.

  138. We know all that.

  139. So we are not talking about doctrine that the mind can comprehend.

  140. We are talking about a strong emphasis on the experience of the presence of the Holy

  141. Spirit.

  142. Yeah?

  143. The extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit.

  144. Because that alone is what is required for Christ exalting ministry.

  145. Just imagine what we are being asked to do guys.

  146. We are being asked by God to awaken and to be empowered to penetrate the frontiers of

  147. the young world.

  148. That's what God is saying.

  149. Listen, I want to awaken you.

  150. And then after I awaken you church, I want to empower you.

  151. First is the awakening of the church.

  152. And after I awaken you, I want to empower you so that you can crack and penetrate the

  153. frontiers of a young world.

  154. It's almost a repeat of Acts chapter 1 8 only in the context of a target audience.

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  155. In Acts 1 8 it was, and you shall be witnesses to me in this and this and to the ends of

  156. the earth here.

  157. It's the frontier of a young world.

  158. And so the baptism of the Holy Spirit is unpredictable and it's diverse.

  159. It is unpredictable and it's diverse.

  160. So open our hearts and minds to that.

  161. Put to bed your age, your ethnicity, your preconceptions, your disdain, your dislikes,

  162. your tastes, your likes.

  163. Put it aside so that he may be unpredictable and diverse.

  164. And may your experience not be the norm for someone else.

  165. May what you and I experience today not become the norm for someone else.

  166. So the next time this God wants to do this, we say this is how it should happen.

  167. Let's not bottle it like Peter, James and John tried to do on the Mount of Transfiguration

  168. where he said can we build a hut for you so that we can have Elijah in one and it was

  169. almost like a tent.

  170. They wanted to bottle it and that's, we won't go that way.

  171. The other thing I want us to be aware of is that in Acts chapter 1 4 God says go to Jerusalem,

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  172. and the Holy Spirit will come.

  173. And in Acts chapter 2 4 it says that they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  174. So in Acts 1 4 it's weight, in Acts 2 4 it's filled.

  175. And so just in faith, trust that if we ask for the baptism of the Spirit that we will

  176. be filled.

  177. That these are two overlapping realities that we will experience.

  178. We will experience starting today that baptism or immersion in the Holy Spirit results in

  179. filling every time in the Bible and that's our standard every time God said go wait or

  180. go ask there was a filling of the Holy Spirit.

  181. The fullness and baptism are overlapping truths and so we will take time shortly to wait not

  182. for him but wait on him.

  183. Wait not for him but on him because the for him part ended in Acts chapter 2 he is here.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  184. But wait on him and trust that these overlapping realities will happen to us.

  185. And that we are looking not for an experience but we are looking for the experience of his presence.

  186. Yeah and we will cry out oh God I need a fresh baptism, oh God I need a fresh anointing,

  187. oh God I need a fresh filling, oh God I need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

  188. I'm just appalled that it's been a while.

  189. It's been a while.

  190. And that one can be satisfied with what one has when one should never get satisfied.

  191. And when the Holy Spirit comes in power he comes suddenly on his own terms and time.

  192. Remember that eh?

  193. When the Holy Spirit comes in power he comes on his own terms and he comes at his own time.

  194. When the Spirit comes in power he comes suddenly on his own terms and time.

  195. And so let that be the cry out.

  196. I'll cry it out again and again today oh God I need a fresh baptism.

  197. I need a fresh baptism.

  198. I might be able to teach well, I might be living life well but my God I need a fresh baptism.

  199. I need a fresh anointing.

  200. I need a fresh filling.

  201. I need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

  202. For what is set ahead of us with Christ interceding and the Spirit wanting to express himself in extraordinary power

  203. I must experience the presence of God afresh.

  204. I must experience it.

  205. My mind may comprehend it but that's not what I want.

  206. I want to experience the presence of the Spirit of God.

  207. And so in that context I just want to say a few things that I think are important for us as a church.

  208. See guys I don't want my mind to define and decide what is permissible for the Holy Spirit.

  209. I don't want my mind to define and decide what is permissible for you a Holy Spirit.

  210. I say to you Holy Spirit I don't want my mind to define and decide what is permissible for you in my life.

  211. I've done that.

  212. I don't want my mind to define and decide what is permissible for you Holy Spirit in my life.

  213. I want to say these things and maybe some of you are in the same boat maybe you're not

  214. but my fear of the excess, the error and the deception that I've seen in churches and through ministries

  215. my utter disdain for those that peddle or practice excess, error and deception

  216. has unfortunately made me distance myself from the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

  217. I've been careful.

  218. The living God that I serve is a person and his presence is tangible.

  219. But my fear of emotionalism and my disdain for the abuse and the excess I have seen

  220. has made me distance myself from the fullness of the Spirit

  221. and my mind kicks in and starts rationalizing experiences I hear

  222. so that I can try and figure out whether I want it or not.

  223. Instead of having the courage to choose to pastor or shepherd

  224. what may occasionally be carnal manifestation or uncontrolled manifestation

  225. I've built a barrier that may occasionally filter the Holy Spirit out too.

  226. Rather than have the courage to shepherd it should it go out of control

  227. I've built barriers that occasionally may filter the Holy Spirit too

  228. and that is so sad especially when you're a pastor

  229. because the flock will get what you allow.

  230. Instead of receiving like a little child

  231. I've been more concerned about deception or a counterfeit experience

  232. and so instead of trusting the word that God has put in us already through all these years

  233. instead of trusting Luke 11 verse 11 to 13 where if we ask more of the Holy Spirit

    Luke 11:11–13

  234. He won't give us a snake or a scorpion

  235. I have guarded the door of this church with my own wisdom and I repent of it.

  236. I repent of it as in I repent before God saying I am so sorry.

  237. Oh God I'm so sorry Spirit of God.

  238. And I ask your church to forgive me

  239. because perhaps we could have experienced more.

  240. So as we go into this I want to surrender my mind, I want to surrender my emotions

  241. I want to surrender my body, I want to surrender my strength

  242. I want to surrender my spirit, I want to surrender my will to the Holy Spirit and to the word

  243. and God has taught us enough not to set up our own barriers

  244. that He has made us Berians

  245. so that if required the Berian barrier of the word will be enough.

  246. So I yield control over even my body which is the temple of the Spirit

  247. and I yield control over the body of Acts 29 which is the temple of the Spirit.

  248. So don't hold on to fleshly self-control guys as we begin to pray

  249. don't hold on to fleshly self-control.

  250. Let worship undo you. I'm not even talking about music I'm just talking about worship.

  251. Let worship undo you. Let worship undo you like it undid Isaiah in Isaiah chapter 6.

    Isaiah 6 chapter mention

  252. It is both terrifying and it is full of glory.

  253. And my God what if we don't experience these things before we die?

  254. Isn't the Old Testament supposed to be a shadow?

  255. I feel so bad that I've set up these barriers because of the disdain I have for the abuse and the excess

  256. and for the peddlers that do that.

  257. Man in my disdain I have distanced myself and in the process distanced this church

  258. from what the Spirit would love to do amongst us.

  259. And if in the process of just calling out to him saying Spirit of God I hunger for a fresh anointing

  260. I need a fresh filling. Renew them oh God I have heard of your fame.

  261. In the process if you're overwhelmed by the greatness and the nearness of God

  262. and it spills out into prayer and praise and tongues so be in church.

  263. If it spills out into dancing or crying or lamenting or calling out so be it.

  264. There's this beautiful scripture in Isaiah 64 which says oh that you would rent the heavens and come down

  265. that the mountains might quake at your presence and that is what I want to do.

  266. So I'm going to ask my mic to be turned down and turned down not turned completely off.

  267. And I want to just begin to ask you in your homes with your children with your spouses with your fathers and mothers

  268. To begin to call out to God for a fresh baptism a fresh anointing a fresh filling a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

  269. And as Christ intercedes may the extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit be experienced

  270. in his presence not in doctrine.

  271. Don't go for self-control go for yielding to the Spirit your mind your emotions your body your strength your spirit

  272. your will to the Holy Spirit yeah.

  273. Let's go guys.

  274. At any point if anyone from the music team feels like going sitting on the piano and playing feel free but you have to be

  275. it's something that you have to know and do and I'm not going to ask you to but

  276. whenever you think it's required from you to do it.

  277. So I'm going to ask you to do it.

  278. I'm going to ask you to do it.

  279. I'm going to ask you to do it.

  280. I'm going to ask you to do it.

  281. Whenever you think it's required both for yourself us and those that are listening feel free.

  282. Okay.

  283. Ha shucks.

  284. Hey just focus put that picture on and then just keep my mic kind of turned on.

  285. And

  286. You might need to move around guys.

  287. If you want to like I'm not telling you what to do just feel free.

  288. Ha shucks.

  289. Spirit of God.

  290. Spirit of God.

  291. Spirit of God. How have I lived so long

  292. between experiences.

  293. What have I satisfied myself with?

  294. With the word

  295. but doesn't the word lead then to this place

  296. of experiencing your presence and shouldn't it increase?

  297. So I come Holy Spirit

  298. to be filled afresh. Oh God.

  299. I know how this works but I ask to be filled afresh.

  300. I ask for extraordinary power upon this church.

  301. I ask for an outpouring. I ask for a descent.

  302. I know you don't take away control but I'm yielding control.

  303. I ask to be filled to overflowing.

  304. I ask that any limit that I have said be dissolved.

  305. I don't want to speak in tongues.

  306. That's good but I want more.

  307. I want to experience the presence of the Father and the Son and you.

  308. I want more.

  309. I want nothing contained. I want

  310. fire. I want flames.

  311. Like happened on Acts chapter 2.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  312. I want fire. I want flames.

  313. I want you.

  314. I don't want to be able to contain you.

  315. I don't want to be able to contain you.

  316. I don't want this

  317. just for myself. I want it for all of us. Oh God.

  318. I want this body to be so full of you

  319. Holy Spirit that nothing else can enter.

  320. Nothing else can enter.

  321. That the cloud enter the temple and the people could not

  322. minister. Why do you need to minister when God is

  323. in the place? You're in awe of him

  324. Holy Spirit.

  325. Bring you a mind

  326. and bring you a will.

  327. Please when I say my mind, my will, would you consider it as ours?

  328. I bring you my mind

  329. so that you're never limited by my thinking

  330. again. So that all things become possible.

  331. My body

  332. so that I may be undignified or dignified as you please.

  333. That what King Saul

  334. thinks or Michael thinks won't

  335. bother me.

  336. That your love will be expressed without the barrier

  337. of the veil of flesh.

  338. I give you my will

  339. so that you can always rule

  340. my emotions Holy Spirit.

  341. You are tangible, you are real, you are a person, oh God.

  342. Holy Spirit

  343. break upon us, break upon us in

  344. homes, break upon us in homes, break into Rosalind's

  345. home, break into Ann and Kamal's

  346. home, break into Shireen and Nishan and Maya

  347. and Isaiah's life,

  348. break into Sheldon and Jane and Phoebe's

  349. life, break into Aaron and Reni's life,

  350. break into Dano and Blessie and Eva

  351. and Aaron and Abby and Eden's life, break into

  352. Eric and Penny and the kids' lives,

  353. break into Sammy's life, break into Luke's life,

  354. into Hope's life, into Zach's life, into Eden's life,

  355. break into the world of the Lord,

  356. into Reba's life, break into my mum's life,

  357. break into Katie's life, into Reba's life, and name them before you

  358. oh God, I'm doing this deliberately.

  359. Break into Liddy and Rachel and
