  1. So today we continue with the second part of Kadosha. We started that last night and

  2. You will have a better context of the second part

  3. Obviously if you go and listen to the first part because we tried

  4. Defining what holiness is because and what a holy goddess last night. So this is the second part of it Kadosha 2

  5. So here's the thing guys a holy God is

  6. utterly incapable of an unholy act

  7. A holy God is utterly incapable of an unholy act and

  8. Strangely enough the word that's most powerful there is an as in

  9. Till today he has never

  10. Never

  11. Done anything that is crooked that is unright that is not absolutely perfect a

  12. Holy God is utterly incapable. It is the one thing that God is incapable of utterly incapable of

  13. an unholy act

  14. And it's not even as if he set the standard so that he could meet it

  15. It wasn't in a setting of standard he is

  16. holy

  17. This isn't someone setting a set of rules to live by this is someone who is life who is

  18. Pure who's perfect who like we said yesterday is transcendent is separate is blameless is creator

  19. So

  20. In in his eyes in the eyes of this transcendent separate blameless creator

  21. It's so hard to fathom this on one hand. I'm saying

  22. Transcendent on the other hand. I'm also saying he lives within me this transcendent

  23. separate

  24. blameless creator who lives in me in

  25. His eyes a sin

  26. As in again the word the most important word here is a sin. It's not sins. It's not

  27. Occasional since even a sin is an act of

  28. Defiant opposition of defiant opposition

  29. Against

  30. The one to whom I owe everything the one to whom I

  31. owe

  32. Everything

  33. This transcendent this

  34. blameless this

  35. Separate creator the one who made me made you in his eyes

  36. He's the one who lives in me

  37. in his eyes a

  38. Sin, a sin not sins a sin is

  39. An act of defiant opposition against the one to whom I owe everything I exist because he allows

  40. He's a good God too and

  41. This struggle between his righteousness the struggle between his righteousness and my unrighteousness

  42. Causes sometimes fear sometimes anger sometimes blame and sometimes hostility in our hearts

  43. It seems impossible that we can live up to the standards of the requirements of this God and because of our

  44. Inability to do that it causes anger. It causes fear. It causes blame. It causes hostility against his God

  45. And we saw that with Adam as soon as he sinned and he fell and he could no longer

  46. And we saw that with Adam as soon as he sinned and he fell and he could no longer

  47. Correspond the way he used to with God

  48. He immediately begins to blame God or blame his wife. He begins to hide this fear this anger this hostility

  49. And even as I'm speaking now and even today that's what happens so many times I've heard this say

  50. What do you expect of me? Oh God? What does God expect of me?

  51. I miss in occasionally

  52. It's almost like the moment his righteousness and my unrighteousness

  53. clash

  54. There's rank or resentment that arises in my heart, and I've got to be rid of it

  55. Because as long as that kind of feeling comes up because of my because of my

  56. Liking for what is wrong?

  57. I'll always keep this holy God at a distance and the problem with keeping a holy God at a distance is

  58. You can never walk in holiness as long as you keep a holy God at a distance

  59. His holiness has to

  60. Wrap you like a mist like a fog just completely surround you

  61. And once you begin to taste the benefits of his holiness once you begin to

  62. Like we said yesterday see who he is and see who you are and see how Christ bridges that gap

  63. You begin to pursue holiness

  64. It is the holiness of God that exposes sin

  65. And it exposes sin as more than just humanness it exposes sin more than just bad karma

  66. It exposes sin more than just a broken set of rules it exposes sin

  67. More than just calling it bad behavior that you can afford

  68. Because of cheap grace a problem with cheap grace in the church is the cheap grace never

  69. Emphasizes the holiness of our God cheap grace only

  70. Emphasizes the goodness and the love of our God it never shows us the holiness of God and therefore

  71. Breaking a set of rules or bad behavior can be afforded because of the goodness and the grace of a God

  72. Who is never presented as holy?

  73. If there is no holy there is no judgment if there is no holy there is no mercy if there is no holy there is no cross

  74. If there is no holy there is no crucified king if there is no holy there is no beautiful savior

  75. If there is no holy Krishna Buddha and Allah from the council of gods would be sufficient

  76. Really that would be enough

  77. Let me say that again

  78. It is a holiness of God that exposes sin as more than just mere human error

  79. More than just karma more than just a broken set of rules

  80. More than just bad behavior that you can afford

  81. Because of the goodness of God it exposes sin more than just a broken set of rules

  82. More than just a broken set of rules more than just bad behavior that you can afford because of cheap grace

  83. If there is no holy there is no judgment because nothing has to be judged

  84. If there is no holy there is no mercy need to be shown after judgment

  85. Because there is nothing to be merciful towards man can do what he wants if there is no holy there is no need for

  86. A cross or a crucified king if there is no holy there is no beautiful redeemer savior

  87. If there is no holy Krishna Buddha or Allah is enough

  88. They make up the council of gods and they are enough. They are sufficient

  89. Really do you want that exchange?

  90. I'm angry at the thought

  91. But that is what i'm settling for

  92. Man I want a god who is good and full of grace but not holy

  93. Because there are enough gods

  94. Who can be good gracious but not holy there are enough gods around

  95. Our god is distinct in this

  96. He is holy therefore he judges. He is holy therefore he judges and has to show mercy

  97. He is holy and therefore he judges and because he is just in showing mercy. He has to pay the price

  98. He is holy and therefore he judges. He shows mercy he pays the price on the cross

  99. He is holy and therefore he judges. He shows mercy. He pays the price on the cross and then redeems ransoms

  100. He is holy therefore he judges. He shows mercy. He pays a price on the cross

  101. He redeems and then comes and lives in you this transcendent god who is separate who is perfect who is straight who is

  102. who is

  103. Absolutely pure this same transcendent separate god now comes and lives in me

  104. And therefore there is an expectation from this God that Jacob I want you to begin to both have a respect for my holiness

  105. And I want you to begin to walk in my holiness

  106. Our salvation message must perhaps begin with a holy God who loves not just a loving God who forgives

  107. Our salvation message

  108. Should perhaps begin

  109. By presenting a holy God who loves instead of only presenting a loving God who forgives

  110. That's what we do. We present a loving God who forgives

  111. But what about a holy God who still loves despite?

  112. But has to pay a price to forgive and decides to pay the price

  113. We said yesterday that the word kadosh means separated separated kadosh means separated

  114. Separated salvation is really a setting apart

  115. What happens in salvation you get saved and you now are set apart like your God you are set apart

  116. Salvation means to set apart if you go to the book of Exodus

  117. Salvation means to set apart if you go to the book of Exodus, what was God doing with Israel?

  118. God was drawing out a people from Egypt and calling them a chosen people

  119. He was separating for himself a chosen people and then what was he doing?

  120. He was setting them apart as a holy nation, which is why Leviticus 11 44. He says to them listen

  121. I'm calling you out. I'm calling you my chosen. I'm calling you a

  122. Kingdom of priests. I'm drawing you out. I'm separating you

  123. I'm making you a holy nation and therefore be holy because I am holy

  124. Even the word Ecclesia the Greek word for church. What does it mean?

  125. It means a called out people a called out people separated the idea of kadosh is so

  126. like a

  127. thread that weaves through

  128. Everything that we are as a people a distinct people

  129. We said yesterday that holiness is not one of the attributes of God it is

  130. The very essence of deity because his attributes have holy before them. He has holy love

  131. He has holy kindness. He has holy knowledge. He makes holy judgments

  132. It's the essence of deity

  133. And therefore a people must realize that this is the essence of their lives, too

  134. First Peter 2 9 you are a peculiar people a royal priesthood a holy nation set apart for him man

  135. Called out

  136. The Bible calls us Saints can you imagine st. Don st. Jacob?

  137. The Bible calls us Saints because we have been consecrated to the Holy Spirit

  138. The Bible calls us Saints because we have been consecrated to God

  139. Set apart for a different life. That's why we are called Saints in the in the world today

  140. We don't call anyone saint because Saints seems to be

  141. Highly separated pious devoted holy lives and yet the Bible calls us that as in God called us that hey st. Jacob

  142. sure father

  143. Now what does it mean that the idea of calling a Saints is that we have been consecrated to God

  144. Set apart to a different life

  145. And this was a call that was first given to Adam the call to holiness was first given to Adam and Eve

  146. They were formed in the image of God

  147. Called to mirror God's character

  148. Called to mirror God's character

  149. And we are saying that the essence of deity is holy the essence of deity is holy Adam and Eve was supposed to

  150. Show the world this character of God in everything they did

  151. There was supposed to be a holiness that was reflected through Adam and Eve. It's an ancient calling

  152. It's not a new calling holiness is not a requirement for Christian living holiness is the essence of Christian living

  153. It is a setting apart. It is a being called out. It is a being different

  154. It is a blamelessness in the way we walk

  155. It is what makes us counterculture. It is what makes us belong to someone whose essence is holy

  156. Why is he bringing it this up right now?

  157. Because I think what he wants to do with us requires holiness

  158. You cannot deal with anything dark evil

  159. Decaying

  160. disease damaged

  161. in bondage

  162. with anything

  163. Disease damaged in bondage without

  164. Aligning with the holiness of God you cannot

  165. one of the statements Jesus makes in

  166. Luke I think was the prince of the world is coming between the prince of darkness is coming, but he has nothing in me

  167. Why does he bringing it up right now because I think

  168. He expects us as a people to

  169. prescribe to this

  170. Expects us as a people to step away. It's not one or two individuals. He's so tired of one or two individuals

  171. Representing him he wants people to represent him. He never said I want a holy Moses. He said I want a holy nation

  172. He didn't say I want a holy Peter

  173. Unfortunately only Peter is called st. Peter. What about st. Jacob and st. Jeremy and st. Praful?

  174. What we don't realize guys is when we sin as image bearers of God

  175. When we sin as image bearers of God we are saying to creation

  176. This is how your creator behaves when we sin

  177. when I when we sin when we sin as

  178. image bearers of God

  179. When we sin as image bearers of God

  180. We are sinning as image bearers of God

  181. When we sin as image bearers of God

  182. We are saying to creation. We are saying to creation

  183. We are saying to creation. What do you mean creation? We are saying to creation as in the created order

  184. We are saying to birds animals

  185. humans

  186. nature

  187. Everything that was made for man and placed under his stewardship and Dominion in Genesis 1

  188. Where God said I will make man in my image and my likeness

  189. And I'll place him here and I'll put all this under his charge

  190. Dominion was not a problem because it was a holy Dominion stewardship was not a problem because it was holy stewardship

  191. There was no fear of man damaging or sabotaging or taking advantage of the environment because God is a holy environmentalist

  192. Everything he does is straight and perfect

  193. And

  194. God is what happens is when we sin as image bearers of God

  195. I'm talking about Christians now when we sin as image bearers of God because we are the ones whose image has been restored when we

  196. Sin as image bearers of God. We are saying to creation. This is what our God behaves like

  197. This is what our God behaves like

  198. Look into this mirror and you will see his character

  199. What we don't realize is that in

  200. Romans 8 verse 20 or thereabouts 19 to 21

    Romans 8:20

  201. It actually says that creation is waiting creation is eagerly waiting creation is eagerly expecting

  202. the

  203. Revealing of the sons of God because creation is hoping that the freedom and the glory that is seen in us will set

  204. creation free from bondage and decay

  205. Just ponder on that for a while that in a world that is diseased damaged

  206. Decayed

  207. facing death and

  208. Demonized the only ones who can bring relief to the earth

  209. are the people of God are the people of God in whom God dwells a

  210. creation around you longs for it

  211. the city longs for it

  212. Why because it says in Romans 8 19 to 21 that creation is expectantly waiting for the

  213. manifestation or the revealing of the sons of God

  214. So that the freedom and the glory that they walk in will liberate the earth from decay and bondage a day is coming

  215. when that will happen

  216. But as we progress towards the day

  217. We are not supposed to sit on our backsides and do nothing

  218. But to show the earth what freedom and glory looks like and there is no freedom and no glory

  219. For a people who belong to a holy God unless they walk in holiness

  220. That is when freedom and glory express it express themselves like I said yesterday what did Adam have

  221. With this transcendent separate God

  222. Absolutely holy till the fall and what how heavy was the loss Adam suffered?

  223. We talked about that yesterday to go listen to it

  224. It's it's surprising how if I live a holy life

  225. You as a church will be affected. I can guarantee that

  226. I can guarantee that

  227. Any increase in the holiness of my life will affect this church right down through

  228. About the same token any decrease in

  229. My life in terms of its holiness will affect this church right all the way through

  230. It says in Proverbs

  231. 1434 the righteousness exalts a nation

  232. And that unrighteousness tears it down

  233. You have no idea what 50 righteous people can do to a city they can save the city you see that in Genesis 18

  234. Where in verse 24 Abraham is saying to God is there any chance that this city can be spared if we have 50 righteous

  235. He brings it down to 10 or 5 I think

  236. By the same token a husband in a family a

  237. teacher in a school

  238. Based on the way they walk out their holiness affect the people around and under them and above them

  239. This idea of sin in the camp which now churches don't want to talk about because

  240. We don't want to put the guilt of sin on people the idea of sin in the camp was so prevalent in the Old Testament

  241. because the sin of a ruler of a leader of a

  242. People could ruin the entire nation. You know what happened with Achan?

  243. What then happens when a people begin to decide to live holy it affects their

  244. Surroundings their immediate surroundings it affects their radius of influence

  245. What is my radius of influence?

  246. Depending on my radius of influence a life that is aligned in holiness with a holy God who is

  247. Transcendent to is separate who is super powerful super good

  248. That God begins to flow through me

  249. Unhindered when my life is aligned with his holiness and the radius of my influence and everything in it

  250. Everyone in it inanimate and animate is affected by it

  251. We

  252. Must live out our

  253. Calling and inheritance how can you say holiness is our inheritance because the Bible says in Matthew 5 48 and in

  254. 1st Peter 1 14 to 16 it says that your father is holy if my father is holy that part of the

  255. inheritance I receive is

  256. holiness

  257. If my father is holy anything I receive from him is holy I'm supposed to live out my inheritance

  258. Matthew 5 48 talks about God being perfect. Tell yours is the word used there

  259. In a word what I'm saying is

  260. Let me see

  261. Matthew 5 48 you therefore must be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect first Peter

  262. 1

  263. 14 to 16

  264. Let's read it from the message

  265. First Peter 1 14 to 16

  266. So roll up your don't lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil

  267. Doing just what you feel like doing you didn't know any better than you do now as obedient children

  268. Let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God's life a life

  269. energetic and blazing with holiness a life energetic and blazing with holiness

  270. God said I am holy you be holy

  271. Live out your calling and inheritance and you will steward the earth well

  272. Mine is not to steward the earth well mine is just a steward my life and my family's life that is highly self-centered

  273. You are called to steward the earth

  274. Holiness is really not about your life holiness is aligning with a God so that God can do what he wants here on earth

  275. Any questions guys

  276. Sometimes I wish you were here in person so you could ask questions

  277. Guys have an intolerance and an irritated annoyed attitude towards in unholy NSA

  278. Some others a tolerance for it got to not have a tolerance for it

  279. It's okay to tolerate a child who?

  280. Perhaps isn't behaving well, but my god as a child grows up if you keep tolerating it

  281. Not good

  282. So how do we live out holiness how do we live out holiness?

  283. You know what I feel what I feel is

  284. That at acts 29

  285. Given what we've been given over all these years

  286. God wants us to know that you're on a short leash when it comes to unholy NSA

  287. You're on a short leash when it comes to unholy NSA

  288. As in I've taught you too much Jacob now if you decide to walk in

  289. Tolerant unholy NSA I have you on a short leash. I won't give you too much latitude

  290. I'll use whatever means

  291. To bring you back into a walk that is

  292. Separate and distinct because I've put far too much into you acts 29

  293. It's a prophetic warning guys

  294. As your pastor, I'm okay with it

  295. For myself and for the church

  296. Because we live in such times that

  297. God desperately needs the people who will be a holy people so he can be a holy powerful God through them

  298. Please don't confine

  299. Holiness to sexual sin it goes beyond that

  300. Holy judgments holy motives holy words

  301. Holy thinking

  302. So, how do we live out this holiness how do we live out this holiness how do we live out this holiness?

  303. First

  304. Holiness can only be a reality by faith

  305. holiness is

  306. a reality

  307. By faith holiness is a reality by faith

  308. If you look at acts 26 18

  309. Acts 26 18

  310. You need faith to begin this journey guys

  311. acts

  312. 26

  313. 18

  314. This is God's command to Paul and he says

  315. To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God

  316. So that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified

  317. sanctified as to be made holy a

  318. Place among those who are sanctified by faith in me

  319. So to be made holy the first thing that is required is this

  320. No, okay

  321. No, right, okay, sorry guys that was just an interruption

  322. Holiness is a reality by faith

  323. So it says in acts 26 18 that to be sanctified or to be set apart

  324. You have to start with the basic premise that it is

  325. by faith

  326. It is by faith

  327. And the word sanctification

  328. You'll also see it in Colossians 1 22 Colossians 1 22. Let's just go through some scriptures Colossians 1 22

  329. These are the things that I must receive in faith they look at what it says in Colossians 1 22

  330. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body

  331. through death

  332. To present you holy in his sight without blemish free from accusation

  333. These are things that I must receive by faith that he has reconciled me

  334. He has reconciled me

  335. To reconcile is to have no debts outstanding credit sheet and debt sheet are balanced

  336. He has reconciled me by Christ's physical body

  337. Through death on a cross to present me

  338. Holy in his sight

  339. Okay, if that's

  340. Yeah

  341. To present me holy in his sight

  342. without blemish and

  343. Free from accusation without blemish and free from accusation

  344. I must stand in this by faith that I am without blemish. I am free from accusation

  345. I am presented holy before God. This is where I start

  346. Let's look at another scripture Hebrews 10 10

  347. Hebrews 10 10

  348. Hebrews 10 10

  349. And this is what Jesus did for me did for you did for us

  350. that

  351. We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ

  352. Once and for all we have been made holy

  353. Once and for all we have been made holy

  354. By the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all that's where I start

  355. Holiness becomes a reality

  356. holiness is a starting point that I have to establish my faith by faith that at present I'm presented before God as

  357. blameless as free of accusation as

  358. Set apart as

  359. Absolutely, holy and that when I talk about absolute holiness, I'm talking about the same holiness that Jesus possesses

  360. One of the ways the word sanctification can be defined the sanctification is Christ in me

  361. sanctification is Christ in me and that I draw

  362. From Jesus the very holiness that he exhibits I draw

  363. From Jesus the very holiness that he exhibits that is how I'm presented before the father

  364. That is how I stand before the father

  365. That is my permanent position before the father. That is where I start

  366. So that's where we start just one sec guys

  367. Second holiness is by the power of the Holy Spirit

  368. Holiness

  369. Is by the power of the Holy Spirit

  370. Holiness is by the power of the Holy Spirit

  371. Holiness is by the power of the Holy Spirit

  372. Holiness is by the power of the Holy Spirit

  373. So the first thing is I

  374. I begin this process of walking in holiness by receiving it by faith

  375. Second holiness is by the power of the Holy Spirit. Why is he called Holy Spirit one because he's holy to because he makes me holy

  376. Why is he called Holy Spirit one because he's holy to because he makes me holy

  377. Holiness is by the power of the Holy Spirit

  378. First Peter verse 1 as a chapter 1 verse 2. Let's read from the NIRV 1st Peter chapter

  379. 1

  380. Verse 2 reading from the NIRV

  381. Beautiful eh?

  382. You have been chosen in keeping with what God the Father had planned

  383. That happened through the Spirit's work to make you pure and holy beautiful eh?

  384. You have been chosen in keeping with what God the Father had planned

  385. That happened through the Spirit's work to make you pure and holy

  386. God chose you so that you might obey Jesus Christ

  387. He wanted you to be made clean by the blood of Christ may more and more grace and peace be given to you

  388. You have been chosen in keeping with what with what God the Father had planned that happened through the Spirit's work to make you pure and holy

  389. So if the work of the Spirit that makes me pure and holy second Thessalonians 2 13

  390. second Thessalonians 2 13

  391. second Thessalonians 2 13

  392. Brothers and sisters reading again from the NIRV brothers and sisters

  393. We should always thank God for you. The Lord loves you. God chose you from the beginning. He wanted you to be saved

  394. Salvation comes through the Holy Spirit's work

  395. He makes people holy

  396. beautifully

  397. So the first part is I receive holiness by faith the second part is

  398. The Holy Spirit now begins to produce holiness in me. He does the work. He does the work

  399. The cool thing about resurrection is resurrection allowed God to put the holiness of his son by the Spirit in me

  400. The death of Jesus Christ destroyed my sin

  401. resurrection allows God to put

  402. The life of his holy son in me by the Holy Spirit so that I now belong to a new

  403. Order I now belong to a people that

  404. Contain in them the holiness of God. This is brought about by the power of the Holy Spirit

  405. So

  406. Where do we start how can the Holy Spirit work really well in me if he wants to bring to pass in me the holiness of God

  407. Guys, the first place you start is begin with an awareness awareness of whose you are begin with an awareness

  408. Begin with an awareness

  409. Of whose I am

  410. Of whose I am or whose you are first Corinthians

  411. 16

  412. 19 and 20 first Corinthians 16 19 and 20

  413. Sorry first Corinthians 6 9 19 and 20

  414. Okay first Corinthians 6 19 and 20 first Corinthians 6 19 and 20

  415. The second is that the Holy Spirit is in you

  416. Don't you know that your bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit

  417. The Spirit is in you you have received him from God. You do not belong to yourself

  418. Christ has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God. Don't you know that your bodies?

  419. Are the temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you you have received him from God

  420. The Spirit has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God

  421. So one of the first things that has to happen is I have to begin to

  422. Understand whose I am who do I belong to I need to understand that

  423. Whose I am I'm not my own

  424. This is how I let the Holy Spirit begin to do what he wants to

  425. Begins with an awareness of whose I am

  426. Now this temple does not belong to me it was purchased it was bought at a price

  427. It was purchased with holy holy priceless precious blood now. It belongs to someone else and he has decided to dwell in me

  428. Whose I am is where I begin

  429. How else can I help the Holy Spirit to bring the holiness of God to me guys

  430. begin to sustain the work of the Holy Spirit in your life by

  431. experiencing the Holy Spirit on a daily basis

  432. Begin to dive into the Holy Spirit the more you like the Holy Spirit the more you yield to him the more you open

  433. Your your life to him the more he is able to bring the character of Christ into your life

  434. And the chief character of Christ is holiness

  435. It is the essence of deity love and holiness and even love is holy love

  436. It is not the kind of love you find here on earth

  437. First Corinthians 2 10

  438. Dive into the Holy Spirit he searches the mind of God he lives in you you can get to know the benefits of God

  439. Ephesians 3 16

  440. Let the Holy Spirit strengthen you in your inner man so that you can begin to expect

  441. beyond what you ask

  442. or imagine

  443. the more I dive into the life and the

  444. Experience of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis the more the Holy Spirit I find myself

  445. The more I find myself opening myself up to the Holy Spirit

  446. The cool thing about God is

  447. Your experience with God only grows richer as you begin to experience it more and more and so at some point

  448. We have to decide i'm going to be reckless and abandon myself to God

  449. Not abandon myself to activity not abandon myself to theology but abandon myself to God

  450. As in you can have more more more you can have all all all and as you do you begin to experience the richness of God

  451. Because there is a never an end to God's more of God's all it goes on and on and on

  452. Every year you begin to taste him more and you think to yourself man

  453. I thought the Holy Spirit was tasty last year, but my God he tastes different this year

  454. And you rip open some other part of you and say have this too

  455. And every time you give anything to the Holy Spirit it comes back

  456. Multiplied many times and you end up being richer

  457. This is why I look forward to living here on earth every year is going to be richer

  458. Sure

  459. Our bodies belong to him it's his property he knows how to take care of it with or without brook broccoli

  460. Okay the third thing yeah broccoli helps yes

  461. But

  462. Yeah

  463. Thousands and thousands of years ago

  464. I'm, not sure if this is

  465. Can be verified factually or not

  466. Broccoli used to be a meat product that over a period of time through fossilization. We had to change shape and

  467. Ended up looking like it looks now

  468. Yeah moving on

  469. Holiness

  470. Holiness is living

  471. One of the the how do we live out holiness holiness can be lived out by living in?

  472. the love

  473. of God as in holiness is

  474. Living out of the fullness living out of the fullness out of the fullness of the love of God

  475. Holiness is living out of the fullness of the love of God as in

  476. The third way that we can begin to live out holiness is when

  477. You follow what Jesus said in john 15 8 to 10 and Jesus puts it in so well

  478. He depending on the version you read it says remain intimately at home in my love

  479. Remain intimately at home in my love. That's what I have done

  480. And I've kept my father's commands in the bargain and made myself at home in his love

  481. guys the thing is

  482. passionate fidelity

  483. Passionate fidelity which is what which is just another way of looking at holiness passionate fidelity is a result of

  484. our love

  485. any couple

  486. That are passionate about each other that adore each other that are devoted to each other will find themselves living

  487. out of a holy relationship that has no other

  488. interest

  489. No other seduction. No other trap that can be sprung because passionate fidelity

  490. Will always end up

  491. in a holy relationship

  492. Jesus said this over and over again. Listen, if you want to live a holy life

  493. The way to do it is to be in love with my father

  494. I am that way. I I remain intimately in my father's love. I've made my home in my father's love

  495. Therefore, I do not find it difficult to follow my father's commands

  496. one of the ways to sustain holiness is to be

  497. Increasingly in love with him because perfect oneness with a holy god

  498. is only possible

  499. When i'm increasing in my relationship of love with him

  500. And the fourth method

  501. To live out a holy life holiness

  502. Holiness is requires denying yourself requires denying yourself

  503. Holiness requires denying yourself

  504. Holiness requires denying yourself denying yourself by training

  505. Your life differently denying yourself by obeying when the rest of the world is not obeying denying yourself by choosing to forego

  506. Interests and desires and rights denying yourself by choosing to bear fruit as in

  507. Bear in your life the fruitfulness of christ the way he is

  508. Denying yourself by choosing to please the one you love rather than displease him

  509. Holiness requires a denying of self

  510. Holiness requires a denying of self

  511. These are the four requirements for holiness guys

  512. That the bible keeps returning to again and again and again

  513. Can you explain the promise of your father's words?

  514. Yeah, uh don is asking if I could explain holiness as a reality by faith what I mean by that is

  515. We begin from not I have to become holy

  516. If we begin from I have been made holy

  517. And that is by faith because I have to now trust god in colossians 1 22 where he says hey by the sacrifice

  518. And the death of my son on the cross I have now

  519. Made you blameless free of accusation and you are presented before me always as perfect because with one sacrifice as it says

  520. He says in hebrews 10 10 you have been made holy

  521. And that is by faith. That is where I start

  522. The great thing about christianity and no other religion offers it

  523. Every other religion offers you things to do so that you can get to the place of acceptance

  524. Christianity starts you from a place of acceptance, but that start can only come through faith

  525. So I have been made holy how holy as holy as jesus. That is where I start

  526. Why am I

  527. Saying that you have been made as holy as jesus because your holiness is only because of the fact that christ the holy one

  528. Lives in you and he we are not drawing from the power of christ to be holy

  529. We are drawing on the very holiness of christ because he dwells in me

  530. So that's where we start

  531. And from there we go to

  532. Now that I have been made holy I will sustain it by the power of the holy spirit

  533. And the first step towards sustaining it by the power of the holy spirit is to become highly aware of whose I am

  534. Both whose I am and who I've become who's am I I am the holy spirit's temple

  535. Who's am I I have been bought at a price and I no longer belong to myself first corinthians 6 19 and 20

  536. So who does that who what does that make me it makes me a temple a temple of what a temple of god himself

  537. Which god the transcendent beyond forever perfect straight?

  538. eternal

  539. Brainless

  540. Blazing fire god

  541. His temple i am

  542. And then I begin to experience him more and more

  543. As I begin to experience him more and more I cannot live without him you

  544. It's a strange thing

  545. Till you experience something you do not know whether you like it or not once you experience it and you like it

  546. You cannot live without it try living without your iphone without facebook without instagram nowadays

  547. Try living without it live a week without it and you will see how desperate you get

  548. Why because you've gotten used to it you've gotten accustomed to it you've gotten dependent on it hey

  549. The holy spirit is saying why not try me become accustomed to me become dependent on me

  550. So that without me you will not know what to do you you you can't you can't live life

  551. He says I can also do the beep or the ping

  552. Depend on me

  553. I search the mind of god jacob you want to know the mind of god you don't want to know how your father thinks

  554. You want to know what mysteries he wants to open for you you want to find out things

  555. I am the one who searches his mind come become reckless throw yourself onto me i'll catch you

  556. I

  557. Can do it feelingly greater than you can ask or think or imagine try me out?

  558. Why do you stop trying when I don't turn up tomorrow?

  559. Why do you stop trying when I don't turn up a week from now?

  560. Why do you stop trying when I don't turn up a year from now?

  561. Don't you know that I'm faithful that if I say something I'll bring it to pass that i'm doing

  562. What is required to make you a vessel that can contain what i'm going to pour into you?

  563. Why do you give up just because you think I haven't shown up because I'm I've been showing up since the beginning

  564. I

  565. Don't delay because I want to do you harm. I don't delay because I want to withhold anything from you

  566. You're, sustained by the power of the holy spirit the third one is

  567. You can only live out holiness if you're deeply in love with the one who is holy

  568. Passionate fidelity between couples who are adoringly devoted to each other is a result of how much they love each other

  569. How much they love each other that is what it comes out of?

  570. Remain in my love remain intimately in my love just as I have remained in my father's love

  571. It allows me then to follow my father's command and I am at home in his love

  572. Perfect oneness with a holy god is impossible without practiced holiness

  573. Perfect oneness with a holy god is impossible without practiced holiness. Do not think that positional holiness

  574. will

  575. Help you experience god here on earth. Like I said, he's already given us a prophetic warning

  576. I will hold you on a short leash when it comes to holiness praise the lord shout hallelujah for that

  577. That he will not let you get away with much

  578. Perfect

  579. Oneness with a holy god, which is what god desires, which is what he is willing to do is however impossible to experience

  580. Without practiced holiness not positional holiness practiced holiness. You are already holy jacob

  581. So now show me how that looks like in actual living

  582. You're you've been made holy now show me how that looks in actual living

  583. That's what the world is waiting for because i'm supposed to be an image bearer who shows the world the essence of my god

  584. Where i'm saying look at me i'm the mirror come world look at what my god behaves like well then jacob

  585. Show them what I behave like be holy in everything

  586. And then the fourth one did she just say jacob fourth one is holiness requires denying yourself

  587. Holiness requires denying yourself. That's his new iphone 12, by the way holiness requires denying yourself

  588. Holiness requires denying yourself

  589. And we think we can get past holiness without denying and doesn't work

  590. Holiness requires denying yourself

  591. Holiness is denying yourself deny yourself in terms of how you train

  592. Deny yourself in terms of obedience

  593. Deny your interests deny your desires deny your rights

  594. Deny yourself so that you may bear more fruit pruning must happen

  595. Deny yourself

  596. The pleasures and the ways of the world

  597. Giving up opportunities because you know that choosing holiness is far more important

  598. Deny yourself so that you can please the one you love

  599. So

  600. Deny yourself so that you can please the one you love

  601. Let me end with two questions let me end with two questions so here are the two questions

  602. The first question is

  603. Sorry phoebe phoebe is making phoebe is having conversations

  604. So i'm laughing at that

  605. Okay, uh the first question is let me write it down

  606. Guys these are not easy to answer

  607. So

  608. So

  609. That's the first question

  610. Do you believe

  611. That you need to be absolutely holy or pure

  612. Do you believe that you need to be absolutely holy or pure?

  613. In your walk in your words in your thoughts and don't be surprised if your answer is not absolutely holy

  614. So

  615. That saddened me when I tried answering this question

  616. That my answer wasn't of course oh god

  617. What else could it be that wasn't my answer

  618. I was sad about that

  619. My answer was yeah, we need to be holy

  620. But absolutely holy absolutely pure no, I don't aspire to that standard that's ridiculous that only god can do

  621. That was my answer

  622. That's the wrong answer

  623. Do you believe you need to be absolutely pure and holy jacob

  624. In your walk in your thoughts in your words

  625. In your words

  626. The answer is yes. Oh god

  627. I think I need to be absolutely pure and holy in my words and thoughts in my walk because you oh god

  628. transcendent separate

  629. God who lives within me are absolutely pure and holy in your walk your words and your thoughts

  630. For me to settle for less or god is so not what I am called to

  631. That is the standard we are establishing guys

  632. The next question just two questions

  633. Second question was

  634. For

  635. The sake of the audio i'll keep talking my desire is to place every detail of my life

  636. Under his scrutiny

  637. And sometimes

  638. Under the scrutiny

  639. Of others

  640. Am I

  641. Desirous not am I willing?

  642. Not am I

  643. Willing to consider no am I desirous is it my desire?

  644. Am I desirous to place every detail of my life every thought

  645. Every motive every intent every word am I desirous

  646. To place every detail of my life under his scrutiny

  647. This is not that god sees everything. No, no, no, this is you desiring to bring under his scrutiny

  648. Every detail every thought every word every motive bringing it before him before it is released from your life

  649. and sometimes

  650. Desiring that you be scrutinized by someone else

  651. Because you are not even sure of how well you scrutinize things

  652. Am I desirous to place every detail of my life under his scrutiny and if necessary under the scrutiny of others

  653. David put it this way search me. Oh god, I know my heart today

  654. Try me

  655. Test me see if there be any wicked way in me

  656. This is not that prayer where we say oh god if there are sins of omission and commission and bishishan and roshishan

  657. Make sure please could you forgive me that that just is this loophole lawyer?

  658. christianese that covers every angle so that

  659. You pass your exam or something we're not talking about that we're talking about

  660. Search me oh god and know my heart test me try me and see if there be any wicked way in me

  661. it was a

  662. Please scrutinize my life find things god that are wrong

  663. and then

  664. Taking it a step further and taking it before others and saying hey scrutinize my life. Is there something?

  665. I

  666. Yeah

  667. I'm done guys. I don't know how to end this

  668. If you got any questions, feel free to ask

  669. That

  670. Yeah, yeah so evan's point is that the first question

  671. Seems unachievable

  672. And that's true to be absolutely pure and holy without fault is unachievable here on earth

  673. but if that is not the standard set

  674. then

  675. It is not a god standard and therefore I have to go back to the four points where I

  676. Receive my holiness by faith. I sustain it by the holy spirit. I

  677. Live it out in love and I deny myself to practice it

  678. but I was surprised at how

  679. I

  680. Didn't even consider that I needed to be absolutely holy and pure

  681. It was almost a sense of if I am better than 90 percent

  682. That's good enough. But what if the 90 percent are so bad that my better is pathetic?

  683. So I was surprised that my answer wasn't yes, of course, what else did you expect oh god?

  684. And the second one was the scrutiny and the desirous of scrutiny you got i'm going to do this

  685. What do you think i'm going to do that? What do you think?

  686. My heart is set on this. What do you think i'm desirous of this?

  687. But what do you think this continuous exposing before god and having him interrupt and spoil things that I want

  688. spoil things for the better

  689. And then putting the same thing under the scrutiny of others saying what do you think?

  690. This is what I think. This is what I think god said, but what do you think?

  691. This is the training party this is the training part it's okay. This is the training part i'm done so you can roam around

  692. I don't know how to end so let's just think for a moment and end this

  693. Father I just asked that could you piece everything together

  694. If I haven't taught the best I could could you just by just sheer grace

  695. Cause this teaching to penetrate lives and

  696. Cause holy life to be created

  697. This is teaching to penetrate lives and cause holiness to begin to rise in my heart and our hearts

  698. How do you want us to end oh god, how do you want us to end?

  699. Father, I think you want us to answer the first question we'll end with that

  700. Father your question is hey, do you jacob believe do you sue believe do you jone believe do you

  701. Tooni believe that you need to be absolutely holy and pure in your walk thoughts and words

  702. So today father we break every

  703. Every limit that we have put on holiness

  704. Every comparison that we have put on holiness. I want to be as holy as or I will be as holy as

  705. I want to be as holy as or I will be holier than

  706. I want to put an end to that today

  707. I want to put an end to that today. I wish I had some way to demonstrate that father

  708. Do we have a stick that I can break? No

  709. Okay father so in the name of Jesus Christ I literally break

  710. The limit I have set on how holy I should be

  711. I break it and I go for the

  712. Absolute holiness and purity in my walk in my thought life in my motives and intents in my words absolute holy

  713. holiness and purity

  714. That is now

  715. That is now

  716. Going to be our standard our high bar our ceiling

  717. That is it. That is what it's going to be

  718. So could you hold this church to that?

  719. Could you hold this church to that?

  720. I'm bringing the church to you and saying this is a church that you paid in blood for

  721. This is a church that is supposed to be a set apart. Holy people

  722. This is a church that is supposed to house a transcendent perfect blameless

  723. Holy god and so we change our standards we change

  724. our

  725. Upper limit we say we want to be absolutely pure and holy in words thoughts intents motives actions

  726. We want to be absolutely holy and pure hold us to that standard. This is how I want to end today

  727. Please holy spirit help us

  728. In Jesus name I ask amen

  729. Let's end there guys i'm half thinking hey i'm half thinking of a song

  730. But i'm wondering whether we can just let it be an end there

  731. Because I can't think of a song that could

  732. capture all this

  733. Can you
