  1. Psalm 63 verse 3. It says,

    Psalms 63:3

  2. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

  3. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

  4. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods. With singing lips, my mouth will praise you.

  5. So just as we

  6. start tonight and throughout the rest of the weekend,

  7. and may this be a time when we find satisfaction because we're coming together to praise the Lord.

  8. We're coming together to glorify him. It's not about us. It's not about our convenience,

  9. but it's about who we're here for and that's the King of Kings. So just as we

  10. as we start, let this be a time where this is should be what fills us.

  11. This should be the richest of foods in our lives.

  12. Coming together to praise the King.

  13. So let us enjoy.

  14. I just wanted to start by reading out Psalm 45.

  15. Or part of Psalm 45.

  16. Verses 1 to 7.

  17. It says, My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the King.

  18. My tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.

  19. You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace since God has blessed you forever.

  20. Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one.

  21. Clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.

  22. In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility, and justice.

  23. Let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.

  24. Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the King's enemies. Let the nations fall beneath your feet.

  25. Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever. A scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

  26. Your love, you love righteousness and hate wickedness.

  27. Therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.

  28. Let's just start with this old song and that's just like older song I guess.

  29. It says, Lord you are good and your mercies endure forever.

  30. We're just gonna sing it with our voices.

  31. landlord you are good and your mercy

  32. Lalo, you are good and your mercy and

  33. Lord

  34. You are good and your mercy

  35. Lord you are good and your mercy endureth forever.

  36. People from every nation and tongue, from generation to generation, we worship you.

  37. Hallelujah, hallelujah, we worship you for who you are.

  38. So God just like that psalm said we want to worship you for who you are.

  39. It said that our tongue can be the pen of a skillful writer.

  40. So right now we want to practice that and we've done this before but we want to practice it

  41. because we want to give you glory not just for the things you've done in other people's lives

  42. or the things that you've done that we've read about but we want to give you the glory

  43. for what you have done in our lives.

  44. We want to give you glory for what you've done in our lives, for what you've promised in our lives.

  45. So let our tongues be the pen of a skillful writer right now as we praise you.

  46. As we praise you because you are good, your mercy endures forever.

  47. So Father let's just start with that.

  48. Let's start with that.

  49. God you have been so so so good.

  50. You have been so good.

  51. In our homes right now we want to speak out words of where you have been good in our own lives.

  52. Of where you have been faithful in our own lives.

  53. You are faithful.

  54. Even here we want to speak out where we have seen you at work.

  55. If we see it we can take it and you make it obvious.

  56. God you have been a way maker.

  57. You have opened ways.

  58. You have got tremendous amounts of power.

  59. You have opened paths that have been shut.

  60. Father you have shown your power.

  61. You have shown your mercy.

  62. You have called us to be holy.

  63. You have shown your healing.

  64. You have shown your goodness.

  65. You have shown your faithfulness.

  66. You are a good manager, a good shepherd.

  67. Your right hand has always held me fast.

  68. You have never ever let me wander away from your heart.

  69. You are a joyful God.

  70. You have distributed joy to us.

  71. You have chased after me.

  72. You are a simple God.

  73. You have extended your mercy to me.

  74. You have extended it to other people.

  75. You are a truthful God.

  76. You love truth in the inward parts.

  77. Father you are majestic.

  78. Thank you Father.

  79. You are majestic.

  80. Bless you.

  81. Thank you Father.

  82. Share your glory.

  83. You are good.

  84. Thank you Father.

  85. People from every nation and tongue

  86. From generation to generation

  87. Will worship you

  88. Hallelujah, hallelujah

  89. We worship you

  90. For who you are

  91. Oh we worship you

  92. Hallelujah, hallelujah

  93. We worship you

  94. Hallelujah, we worship you

  95. For who you are

  96. For you are good

  97. Lord you are good and your mercy endureth forever

  98. Lord you are good and your mercy endureth forever

  99. From every nation and tongue

  100. From generation to generation

  101. We worship you

  102. Hallelujah, hallelujah

  103. We worship you

  104. For who you are

  105. Shall we do a speak Jesus now or do you want to do it later?

  106. We can do it later.

  107. Later?

  108. Yeah.

  109. Okay.

  110. Father one of the ways that I think you are wanting to show up

  111. and you were showing this last week too but that you are a warrior who is mighty in battle.

  112. That you're a warrior who is mighty in battle.

  113. And that you are a warrior.

  114. You're training us to be warriors too but that we don't have to rely on our own strength in order to break walls down.

  115. That we don't have to rely on our own strength to make paths in the wilderness.

  116. That those are all things that you do and that you do with joy.

  117. That you do eagerly and easily.

  118. So Father as we sing this next song we're actually going to sing Waymaker.

  119. And we want to sing it with the knowledge that this is something that you are eager to do.

  120. That this is something that you are wanting to do.

  121. And it's not just for us Father but you're a waymaker in our own lives.

  122. You're a waymaker in this city.

  123. You're a waymaker in the nations.

  124. Like we were speaking about you want to open fords.

  125. Sorry you want to show us how to guard the fords of this city so that we can allow, we can disallow.

  126. Just as you have done Father.

  127. Just as you've shown you've done.

  128. I want to worship you for what you've already said you're going to do.

  129. I worship you.

  130. I worship you.

  131. You are here.

  132. Moving in our midst.

  133. I worship you.

  134. I worship you.

  135. You are here.

  136. Working in this place.

  137. I worship you.

  138. I worship you.

  139. You are a waymaker.

  140. Miracle worker.

  141. Promise keeper.

  142. Light in the darkness.

  143. My God that is who you are.

  144. You are a waymaker.

  145. Miracle worker.

  146. Promise keeper.

  147. Light in the darkness.

  148. My God that is who you are.

  149. That is who you are.

  150. You are a waymaker.

  151. Miracle worker.

  152. Promise keeper.

  153. Light in the darkness.

  154. My God that is who you are.

  155. You are a waymaker.

  156. Father let's just think even when we don't see it you're working.

  157. This is something you're wanting to highlight that you are always working.

  158. Always working.

  159. Always working.

  160. When we see it when we don't you are always a waymaker.

  161. You are always a waymaker.

  162. You're always a promise keeper.

  163. Even when I don't see it you're working.

  164. Even when I don't feel it you're working.

  165. Never stop, never stop working.

  166. Never stop, never stop working.

  167. Even when I don't see it you're working.

  168. Even when I don't feel it you're working.

  169. Never stop, never stop working.

  170. Never stop, never stop working.

  171. Even when I don't see it you're working.

  172. Even when I don't feel it you're working.

  173. Never stop, never stop working.

  174. Never stop, you never stop working.

  175. Even when I don't see it you're working.

  176. Even when I don't feel it you're working.

  177. Never stop, you never stop working.

  178. You never stop, you never stop you are.

  179. Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper.

  180. That in the darkness, my God, that is who you are.

  181. Oh you are, way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper.

  182. That in the darkness, my God, that is who you are.

  183. Hey guys, quick updates on Jeevan and Rosalind.

  184. So Jeevan's still on oxygen, but instead of taking 4 liters of oxygen now he's being given just 2 liters of oxygen,

  185. which is significant because obviously his lungs are doing better.

  186. And with oxygen he's breathing at 97, that's the saturation percentage of the lungs.

  187. And they'll give him another shot of medicines today and then they'll do a blood test tomorrow

  188. and they'll find out whether he's okay to be discharged or not.

  189. And Rosalind was in hospital till yesterday, she's back home.

  190. The doctors will talk to her about the tumor and we're trusting that it will be benign.

  191. But she's back home and glad to be back home and she was grateful for the way people were calling her

  192. and doing anything they could to help her.

  193. And Matt was thankful too, so both of them are home.

  194. Her blood pressure's steadied, her blood sugar levels just need a little more monitoring

  195. and we'll get a report on the tumor as being benign.

  196. And that's what we're hoping for and trusting God for shortly.

  197. So that's the update on them and then as I get updates I'll let you know tomorrow.

  198. Otherwise, that's where we stand. Cool? Okay.

  199. Can I have a D please?

  200. All the glory we worship you, our God. You are worthy to be praised.

  201. And I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided with all my heart to follow Jesus.

  202. I have decided to follow Jesus. I'm not turning back. I'm not turning back.

  203. Cause it's only in your will that I am free.

  204. Jesus, all for Jesus. All I am and have and ever most shall be.

  205. Cause you are my rock in times of trouble. You always lift me up when I fall down through every storm.

  206. Lord, your love is the anchor. My hope is in you alone.

  207. This is my story. This is my song. I'm praising my Savior all the day long.

  208. This is my story. This is my song. I'm praising my Savior all the day long.

  209. One last time. Blessed assurance. Blessed assurance. Jesus is mine. Oh what a foretaste of glory divine.

  210. I'm an heir of salvation. I've been purchased by God. I'm born of his Spirit. Lost in his love.

  211. This is my story. This is my song. I'm praising my Savior all the day long.

  212. This is my story. This is my song. I'm praising my Savior all the day long.

  213. Hear these praises from a grateful heart. Each time I think of you the praises just start. I love you so much. Jesus, love you so much.

  214. One more time. Hear these praises from a grateful heart. Each time I think of you the praises start. I love you so much. Jesus, love you so much.

  215. I love you so much. Jesus, I love you so much.

  216. My soul longs for you. Longs to worship you forever in your power and majesty.

  217. I lift my hands. I lift my voice. I lift my heart towards the heavens. Because you are my sun and shield.

  218. Lord I love you. My soul sings in your presence carried on your wings. I love you so much. Jesus, love you so much.

  219. We love you so much. Jesus, we love you so much. We love you so much. Jesus, we love you so much.

  220. Thank you, Abba.

  221. So Father, we're just going to sing a couple of songs about loving you. So I'll ask Emily to come here where I'm standing in this. Leading songs where we talk about loving you.

  222. Just our hearts, just breaking alabaster flasks of love over you. Yeah, Father, that's what we'll do for the next couple of songs.

  223. Just a couple of songs, just how much we want to express our love towards you.

  224. So even as I talk a lot, I'm just creating time for her to think which two songs Abba. While I'm doing that, I actually mean it when we say,

  225. We love you so much. Jesus, we love you so much. I love you so much. Jesus, love you so much.

  226. Beautiful one I love.

  227. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  228. Beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  229. Beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  230. Wonderful, so wonderful is your unfailing love. Your cross has spoken mercy over me.

  231. Jesus, no eyes have seen, no ear has heard, no heart could fully know how glorious, how beautiful you are.

  232. Wonderful, so wonderful is your unfailing love. Your cross has spoken mercy over me.

  233. No eyes have seen, no ear has heard, no heart could fully know how glorious, how beautiful you are.

  234. Beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  235. Powerful, so powerful, your glory fills the skies. Your mighty works display for all to see.

  236. The beauty of your majesty awakens my heart to see how marvelous, how wonderful you are.

  237. Beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  238. Beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  239. Oh beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one my soul must sing. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  240. You opened my eyes to your wonders and you, you captured my heart with this love. Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you.

  241. You opened my eyes to your wonders and you, you captured my heart with this love. Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you.

  242. You opened my eyes to your wonders and you, you captured my heart with this love. Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you.

  243. You opened my eyes to your wonders and you, you captured my heart with this love. Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you.

  244. You opened my eyes to your wonders and you, you captured my heart with this love. Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you.

  245. You opened my eyes to your wonders and you, you captured my heart with this love. Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you.

  246. Oh beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  247. Beautiful one I love you. Beautiful one I adore. Beautiful one my soul must sing.

  248. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord.

  249. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord.

  250. Oh how much you mean to me Lord. Oh how much you mean to me Lord.

  251. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord. Oh how I love you Lord.

  252. If you were to ask us anything right now, we'd lay it down before you Lord. Love you more than anything. If you asked us to give up something, we'd give it up for you oh God. Cause we love you more than anything.

  253. It's easy father cause you love us so much. It's easy father to give back in love. I love you more than anyone else. I love you more than anyone else on earth. We'd easily place you far above them. We'd easily place you far above them oh Lord.

  254. So we give you our love father. We bring our love to you. We bring our love to you. We lay it before you.

  255. We lay it before you.

  256. I love you Lord.

  257. You're worthy oh God. You deserve our love. I bring you my love.

  258. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I want to be your apple of my eye. I

  259. have time for you. I come to return your love. I live my life because I adore you. Now that I know you are God, I bring you father. I run into your throne. The veil of storm. I come running the veil of storm. The doors

  260. ring wide. Just the chorus. The veil is torn and the doors ring wide. I see glorious. I run inside your throne room before you above.

  261. Oh, the veil is torn and the doors ring wide. I see glorious. I run inside your throne room before you above.

  262. Oh, the veil is torn and the doors ring wide. I see glorious. I run inside your throne room before you above.

  263. Oh, the veil is torn and the doors ring wide. I see glorious. I run inside your throne room before you above.

  264. Oh, the veil is torn and the doors ring wide. I see glorious. I run inside your throne room before you above.

  265. Oh, the veil is torn and the doors ring wide. I see glorious. I run inside your throne room before you above.

  266. We don't gather around the throne. We gather around your couch. I know the bible doesn't say you have a couch. It only says you have a throne.

  267. But then the bible doesn't tell us everything. Does it father?

  268. I know that we can sit on your shoulder. Deuteronomy 33 talks about that.

  269. I know you embrace.

  270. So as we sing this next song, it is in the family room.

  271. We sing it as children, not as worshippers.

  272. Over the mountains and the sea, your river runs with love for me.

  273. I will open up my heart and let the healer set me free.

  274. I'm happy to be in the truth and I will daily lift my hands.

  275. For I will always sing of when your love came down.

  276. Over the mountains and the sea, your river runs with love for me.

  277. I will open up my heart and let the healer set me free.

  278. I'm happy to be in the truth and I will daily lift my hands.

  279. For I will always sing of when your love came down.

  280. I could sing of your love forever.

  281. I could sing of your love forever.

  282. I could sing of your love forever.

  283. I could sing of your love forever.

  284. Oh I could sing of your love forever.

  285. I could sing of your love forever.

  286. I could sing of your love forever.

  287. I could sing of your love forever.

  288. Forever.

  289. Over the mountains and the sea, your river runs with love for me.

  290. And I will open up my heart and let the healer set me free.

  291. I'm happy to be in the truth and I will daily lift my hand.

  292. For I will always sing when your love came down.

  293. Oh I could sing of your love forever.

  294. I feel like dancing.

  295. It's foolishness, I know.

  296. But when the world has seen my eye,

  297. they will dance with joy with life's blessing.

  298. Now I feel.

  299. Oh, I feel like dancing.

  300. It's foolishness, I know.

  301. But when the world has seen my eye,

  302. they will dance with joy with life's blessing.

  303. Now I feel.

  304. I know I feel like dancing.

  305. It's foolishness, I know.

  306. But when the world has seen my eye,

  307. they will dance with joy like we're dancing now.

  308. Now I feel.

  309. Oh, I feel like dancing.

  310. I feel like dancing.

  311. It's foolishness, I know.

  312. But when the world has seen my eye,

  313. they will dance with joy like we're dancing now.

  314. I can sing of your love forever.

  315. I can sing of your love forever.

  316. I can sing of your love forever.

  317. I can sing, I can sing of your love forever.

  318. I sing of your love forever.

  319. I'm free in your eyes on the sparrow.

  320. And I know he watches me.

  321. We made Emily sing these songs without warning her.

  322. She's lost her voice.

  323. She had to start on all kinds of chords.

  324. So we'll try it without her.

  325. Now we'll take over the high notes.

  326. I love this sparrow song.

  327. I remember first hearing it at Billy Graham Crusade.

  328. I wasn't there, I watched it on TV and I was very impressed.

  329. I sing because I'm happy.

  330. I sing because I'm free.

  331. For your eye is on the sparrow.

  332. And I know he watches over me.

  333. One more time, I sing because I'm happy.

  334. I sing because I'm free.

  335. I sing because I'm free.

  336. I sing because I'm free.

  337. For your eye is on the sparrow.

  338. And I know he watches me.

  339. One last quick chorus before the teething.

  340. We'll go to the chorus of Reckless Love.

  341. So I'll ask Billy to do that one.

  342. Can we have the words, guys, on the screen, too?

  343. I know you guys have been doing this without chords.

  344. Oh, sorry, without lyrics, but it's one of those days.

  345. Actually, you can start from the beginning, Betty.

  346. I don't know which one's the chorus in this.

  347. That was my question.

  348. Can you give some volume for Betty?

  349. And then after this song, we've got to stop.

  350. Do you want to hold the mic?

  351. It might be better because you can't be heard.

  352. Before I spoke a word, you were singing over me.

  353. You have been so, so good to me.

  354. Yeah, man.

  355. Before I took a breath, you breathe your life in me.

  356. You have been so, so kind to me.

  357. Before I spoke a word, you were singing over me.

  358. You have been so, so good to me.

  359. Before I took a breath, you breathe your life in me.

  360. You have been so, so kind to me.

  361. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

  362. Oh, it chases me down, fights till I'm found.

  363. Leaves the 99, and I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it.

  364. Till you give yourself away.

  365. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

  366. When I was your foe, still your love fought for me.

  367. You have been so, so good to me.

  368. When I felt no worth, you paid it all for me.

  369. You have been so, so kind to me.

  370. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

  371. Oh, it chases me down, fights till I'm found.

  372. Leaves the 99, and I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it.

  373. Till you give yourself away.

  374. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

  375. There's no shadow you won't light up, mountain you won't climb up, coming after me.

  376. There's no wall you won't kick down, light you won't tear down, coming after me.

  377. There's no shadow you won't light up, mountain you won't climb up, coming after me.

  378. There's no wall you won't kick down, light you won't tear down, coming after me.

  379. There's no shadow you won't light up, mountain you won't climb up, coming after me.

  380. There's no wall you won't kick down, light you won't tear down, coming after me.

  381. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

  382. Oh, it chases me down, fights till I'm found.

  383. Leaves the 99, and I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it.

  384. Till you give yourself away.

  385. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

  386. We bless you for this love, oh God.

  387. We bless you for this love, oh God.

  388. Reckless love that seeks us out like a guided missile, like a laser it seeks me out.

  389. Doesn't matter where I hide, even when I'm hiding in sin,

  390. you're there trying to find me, Psalm 139 talks about it.

  391. Where can I hide?

  392. If I went into the deepest darkness, you are there.

  393. If I took the wings of a dove, disappeared into the morning skies, you are there.

  394. You had me all about, you knew my form before I was formed.

  395. You saw me being wondrously knit together in my mother's womb, you called me by my name.

  396. Oh God, your thoughts towards me are too wonderful.

  397. They are like the sands of the sea, like the stars of the sky.

  398. Your heart towards me is wonderful.

  399. I'm located, oh God, like your sun in the center of your heart.

  400. We bless you, oh God.

  401. We bless you, oh God.

  402. We bless you, oh God.

  403. Oh, your thoughts towards me are too kind.

  404. Your thoughts towards me are reckless.

  405. Your thoughts towards me are loving.

  406. Your thoughts towards me, oh God.

  407. They're too kind, they're too kind, they're too kind.

  408. They're too kind, oh God.

  409. His heart towards me is so kind, so rich, so full of mercy and grace.

  410. You seek me out, you've always sought me out.

  411. When I was your enemy, you sought me out.

  412. Now that I'm your son, you seek me out.

  413. Oh, your eyes are always over me.

  414. Your eyes are always over me.

  415. Your eyes are always over me.

  416. You were crucified, laid behind the stone.

  417. You bled and died, rejected and alone like a rose,

  418. trampled on the ground.

  419. You took the fall, and you thought of us above all.

  420. You were crucified, laid behind the stone.

  421. You were crucified, laid behind the stone.

  422. You lived to die, rejected and alone like a rose,

  423. trampled on the ground.

  424. You took the fall, and you thought of me above all.

  425. Praise the name of the Lord our God.

  426. Praise his name forevermore.

  427. For endless days we will sing God's praise.

  428. Oh Lord, oh Lord your God.

  429. Oh praise the name of the Lord our God.

  430. Praise his name forevermore.

  431. For endless days we will sing God's praise.

  432. Oh Lord, oh Lord our God.

  433. Oh Lord, oh Lord our God.

  434. Jesus, lover of my soul.

  435. Jesus, how can I ever let you go?

  436. You've taken me from my reclaim.

  437. You set my feet upon the rock, and now I know.

  438. I love you, and I need you.

  439. Though my world may fall, I'll never let you go.

  440. My Savior, my closest friend.

  441. I will worship you until the very end.

  442. All for love's sake became poor.

  443. All for love's sake became poor.

  444. And you all for love's sake became poor.

  445. So here we are to worship.

  446. Here we are to bow down.

  447. Here we are to say that you're our God.

  448. You're altogether lovely, altogether.

  449. Altogether wonderful to us.

  450. One last time church and this time we have to stop.

  451. Here we are to worship.

  452. Here we are to bow down.

  453. Here we are to say that you're my God.

  454. You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy.

  455. Altogether wonderful to be.

  456. You know, I wonder whether you ever say,

  457. enough, we've got to move on.

  458. Enough, this has gone on for too long.

  459. It's not like you're lapping up worship like you need it desperately.

  460. But you know that if we were to...

  461. You know that if we were to magnify you through our songs

  462. and recognize how much you love us,

  463. that our hearts would naturally be yours.

  464. It's odd how even worship is to our advantage.

  465. It allows us to see you and see aspects of you that we wouldn't otherwise see.

  466. And then to be caught up in something like your love for us and our love back to you

  467. just enriches us, oh God.

  468. I never will forget your name, Yahweh,

  469. self-existent one who could have made a walnut and been completely happy.

  470. And then you go and make me.

  471. And now I'm your walnut.

  472. And you love me dearly.

  473. Did I say we finished?

  474. But we've got to sing this last one that we learned so long ago.

  475. And I love you, Lord.

  476. And I lift my voice

  477. to worship you,

  478. O my soul.

  479. Rejoice,

  480. take joy, my King,

  481. in what you hear.

  482. Let it be a sweet, sweet sound

  483. in your ear.

  484. That's the first time, Father, that I've sing it only once.

  485. And I'm actually going to stop. What do you know?

  486. So we bless you, Abba. Thank you.

  487. How many songs off the list that you prepared did you do?

  488. One? That's quite an accomplishment.

  489. Okay, we'll go straight into the teaching. I don't think we need a break.

  490. Sure.

  491. Hey, can you get the board chilling?

  492. Hey, what's your name, Evan?

  493. Could you turn off the air conditioning? I don't know why you...

  494. Okay.

  495. Guys, can I have... Am I good, Praful, in terms of volume?

  496. Okay.

  497. Okay, guys, so today we continue.

  498. I know my head is turned towards you, but you can hear me.

  499. Today we continue with a church from the Book of Revelation.

  500. This time we talk about Pergamum.

  501. And like I've been saying over the last many weeks

  502. that we've been talking about these churches,

  503. the intent is not to study these churches.

  504. The intent is to pull something out from each letter to the church

  505. that we can then take slightly out of context,

  506. but within the context of Jesus,

  507. and then talk about how it applies to us.

  508. Don got home safely, so he's actually watching. Great.

  509. I'm glad he's committed, even from a distance.

  510. So, Father, I just speak healing upon everybody who's listening,

  511. healing from any physical ailment.

  512. I just thank you that you are in the house.

  513. The healer is in the house today.

  514. And thank you, Jesus.

  515. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.

  516. Wonderworking God.

  517. Thank you, Jesus. Healer is in the house.

  518. So I thank you as we receive healing upon our bodies

  519. right across whoever is listening.

  520. And the strange thing is whoever will listen to this

  521. nine months from now, 21 years from now,

  522. that is nuts, Father. Awesome.

  523. Pergamum.

  524. Revelation, Revelation chapter 2,

    Revelation 2 chapter mention

  525. reading from verse 12 to 17,

  526. and then we'll pull out just one verse.

  527. To the church in Pergamum,

  528. to the angel of the church in Pergamum,

  529. hey guys, I forgot to tell you, tomorrow we're doing communion.

  530. I forgot to put it in the email.

  531. So please make sure you have bread and juice to join us

  532. if you're watching from home.

  533. There are still a couple of spots left if you want to join us in person.

  534. Just text me if you do.

  535. To the church in Pergamum,

  536. to the angel of the church of Pergamum, write,

  537. these are the words of him who has the sharp double-edged sword.

  538. I know where you live, where Satan has his throne.

  539. Yes, you remain true to my name.

  540. You did not renounce your faith in me even in the days of Antipas,

  541. my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city where Satan lives.

  542. Nevertheless, I have a few things against you.

  543. You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam,

  544. who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols

  545. and by committing sexual immorality.

  546. Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

  547. Repent therefore, otherwise I'll soon come to you

  548. and will fight against you with the sword of my mouth.

  549. We'll fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

  550. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

  551. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna.

  552. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it,

  553. known only to him who receives it.

  554. So I want to pull out from this letter just verse 13,

  555. Revelation 2.13, and so reading from the message then it would read like this,

  556. I see where you live, right under the shadow of Satan's throne.

  557. There are cities even today that are cities or centers or vortexes

  558. of evil where Satan has established, if not a throne, some form of power base.

  559. I know places in Lithuania, I know places in BC and in other parts of the world

  560. where these cities are centers or power base or a power base of evil.

  561. Maybe further down the 49-day prayer we'll begin to talk about some of these cities.

  562. But today it's enough to know that there are such places that exist in present day history.

  563. So I see where you live, right under the shadow of Satan's throne,

  564. but you continue, and this is very specific, he's written to seven churches,

  565. but he picks this church and says there is a situation with your city that I'm aware of,

  566. that you literally live under the shadow of something that is evil.

  567. But you continue boldly in my name, but you continue boldly, but you continue boldly in my name,

  568. but you continue boldly in my name, but you continue boldly in my name.

  569. You never once denied my name, you never once denied my name,

  570. you never once denied my name, you never once denied my name,

  571. even when the pressure was the worst.

  572. And the word I want to pick on today and work on maybe today and tomorrow is this idea of his name, his name.

  573. That's what we want to talk about, the name of Jesus.

  574. And he commends this church for continuing boldly in the name of Jesus,

  575. never denying the name of Jesus, even when the pressure was worse.

  576. So I want to talk about name.

  577. The thing with name is guys, every time a name is uttered,

  578. what is thought and felt gives you an idea of the name, what is thought and felt.

  579. The thoughts that come up in your mind when a name is mentioned,

  580. the feelings that come up in your heart when a name is mentioned,

  581. betray the strength, the weakness, the character of that name.

  582. So if I say the name Elon Musk, there are certain thoughts that come up.

  583. And if you invested in Bitcoin, certain feelings come up too.

  584. Or if I say the word Steve Jobs, that name conjures certain images, certain thoughts, certain feelings.

  585. If I say Billy Graham, that name brings certain thoughts and certain feelings instantly.

  586. You may not be able to define them in a second, but you can in a period of time.

  587. Here's another name that when I say will confuse you, Ravi Zacharias.

  588. You don't know what to think and you don't know what to feel.

  589. Because some of us know that name that wrote books that were tremendously helpful,

  590. and then you know the stories today.

  591. Every name evokes a response.

  592. The name of Gabbar. You wouldn't know Gabbar,

  593. but in Greek, there's this famous saying,

  594. That's not Greek, that's Hindi.

  595. But this idea of this highway robber called Gabbar,

  596. parents used to say to their children,

  597. listen, go to sleep, otherwise Gabbar will come.

  598. So the point is this, guys, names evoke thoughts and evoke feelings.

  599. So the question then is, what is the thought and what are the feelings

  600. that come up in your heart when you hear the name Jesus?

  601. And you'll be surprised how it doesn't provoke what it should provoke.

  602. What I think and what I feel when I use the name of Jesus is what I will eventually convey.

  603. And I'm saying to you that we have gotten to a place

  604. where the name of Jesus is becoming more a bookend to prayers

  605. and doesn't necessarily provoke something inside me.

  606. And I don't want to be in that place where I'm so used to the name

  607. or where I'm beginning to use it like Muslims use inshallah.

  608. Everything a Muslim says, he usually ends it with the word inshallah, meaning God willing.

  609. Has Jesus become like that?

  610. Or do I realize the weight his name carries?

  611. What does it instantly bring to my thinking and instantly bring to my feelings?

  612. When I pray in the name of Jesus, what is it?

  613. Is it like a sign-off, like a signature tune, like a monogram, like a branding?

  614. What is it? Because if that is all it is, it is still powerful,

  615. but it isn't enough today for what we are presently engaged in.

  616. That's the problem. Where God is taking us, it isn't enough.

  617. When you look at the, and now I'm really speaking Greek,

  618. the Greek for name is onama.

  619. And here's what it stands for.

  620. Authority, character, authority, character, advantage, influence.

  621. I got my own little thing going for it because I'm into health drinks.

  622. So authority, character, advantage, and influence.

  623. That's what the word name means.

  624. So every time, and I've been practicing this deliberately for the last while,

  625. where when I say in the name of Jesus Christ,

  626. I go through this laborious process now of figuring out,

  627. okay, so you say in the name of Jesus Christ when you command something

  628. or when you pray for yourself or you're praying,

  629. do you realize that you're saying that Jesus Christ has this authority?

  630. Do you fully recognize it?

  631. Then I go to character.

  632. Is what I just said in the character of Christ,

  633. and does my heart now reflect that character as I speak it?

  634. Then I go to advantage.

  635. Do you really think that you now have an advantage?

  636. Or do you think there's a 50-50 chance of hit and miss,

  637. and you hope it happens because God is gracious and good?

  638. All that I'm saying is true, but it ain't good enough where we are going.

  639. I think of the advantage I have as I use the name of Jesus.

  640. And then finally I think of the word influence.

  641. As in, as I use the name of Jesus,

  642. is this influence going to overwhelm, hover over,

  643. and change whatever I'm praying for?

  644. Are these the ways I am thinking when I use the name of Jesus?

  645. Because if this is not the way of thinking,

  646. then it ain't good enough for where we are going.

  647. It's good enough for yesterday.

  648. It isn't good enough for tomorrow.

  649. Acts chapter 3.

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  650. Why do we have to break it down like this and keep thinking along these lines?

  651. Because it's laborious.

  652. Every time you use the name of Jesus, oh my God, Akai.

  653. And then you've got to go down that list.

  654. No, because after a while it becomes default.

  655. After a while I understand that if I say,

  656. in the name of Jesus I want my shoulder to be healed,

  657. I'm saying that it isn't the character of Jesus as a healer.

  658. It is to my advantage,

  659. because he always advantages me when I use his name.

  660. It is his authority that is above everything else that can come and do me harm.

  661. And finally, his influence is such that it brings restoration.

  662. There are different ways I can say this.

  663. I just happen to say that off the cuff right now because I've been practicing it.

  664. Suddenly it's not, oh, in the name of Jesus, like stamped, endorsed, affirmed, go.

  665. It's not a fixing something.

  666. A fixing, A-F-F-I.

  667. It's not that. It's much, much more than that.

  668. Where we are going, we can't afford to be what we were yesterday as a name stamp.

  669. If you go to Acts 3, verse 12 to 16, Acts 3, verse 12 to 16,

    Acts 3:12–16 Acts 3:12–16

  670. you see the disciples trying it out, the apostles trying it out.

  671. Jesus had left a little while ago.

  672. Acts 3, verse 12 to 16.

    Acts 3:12–16

  673. Let's start it.

  674. Let's start at one. Acts 3, verse 1.

    Acts 3:1

  675. One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer at three in the afternoon.

  676. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful,

  677. where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

  678. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

  679. Peter looked straight at him as did John.

  680. Then Peter said, look at us.

  681. So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

  682. Then Peter said, silver or gold I do not have, but what I have give you.

  683. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.

  684. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up.

  685. Instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.

  686. He jumped to his feet and began to walk, and then he went with them into the temple courts,

  687. walking and jumping and praising God.

  688. When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

  689. they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful,

  690. and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

  691. You know, this is a side note. It's not important.

  692. This was the first sermon I ever preached in my life.

  693. I shudder to think of those notes.

  694. Anyways, God is faithful, man.

  695. That was more than 30 years ago.

  696. Acts 7.3, verse 11 to 16.

  697. While the beggar held on to Peter and John,

  698. all the people were astonished and came running to them in a place called Solomon's Colonnade.

  699. Verse 12.

  700. When Peter saw this, he said to them,

  701. Men of Israel, why does this surprise you?

  702. Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

  703. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers,

  704. has glorified his servant Jesus.

  705. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he decided to let him go.

  706. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

  707. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.

  708. We are witnesses of this.

  709. This is the part I really want you to see.

  710. By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.

  711. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him

  712. that has given this complete healing to him as you can all see.

  713. So Peter and John had no conception of all that was in the name.

  714. They were familiar with Jesus, and now he had risen and ascended.

  715. And so this is one of the first times Peter and John are trying out the name.

  716. And so they really had no conception of all that was in the name,

  717. but they had faith to say, they had faith to say,

  718. in the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk.

  719. And I question us on that.

  720. It's one thing to have the name of Jesus Christ.

  721. I'm asking you, do you have faith to say, in the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk, to someone who is lame?

  722. And the answer is usually no.

  723. So how is it done today?

  724. Exactly as it was done that day.

  725. These are the three things we need to remember.

  726. It was through his name.

  727. These are the three things that stand out in that 16th verse,

  728. depending on the different versions that you read.

  729. Through his name, it was through faith in his name,

  730. through his name, through faith in his name,

  731. and three, through faith, through faith which is by him or given by him.

  732. Through his name, it was done through his name,

  733. it was done through faith in his name,

  734. and it was done through faith given by him.

  735. That's how it's still done.

  736. But my problem then is, what do I really think of this name?

  737. When I think of this name, it's one thing to pray it from a distance,

  738. but do I have the faith required, even though I may not have a full conception of what his name can do?

  739. I just need to recognize that this is no ordinary name.

  740. This is not a stamp affixed to my prayer.

  741. This is not a Hail Mary.

  742. Then I hope it works. It's a 50-50 chance. Maybe it will and then it'll be awesome.

  743. What Peter and John says, why stare at us as if it's our power or godliness that made him walk?

  744. Here's the thing we need to realize.

  745. The power, the power, why do I have to write everything?

  746. The power that had wrought the cure,

  747. the power that had wrought the cure was resident,

  748. was resident,

  749. the power that had wrought the cure was resident in Jesus' name.

  750. I want us to just think of that for a second

  751. all power to bring about healing is resident

  752. in Jesus' name. What does His name represent? His name represents His character

  753. His name represents His authority, His name represents His influence

  754. His name represents the advantage He has

  755. This is why guys own your name, own your name as people of the way

  756. I love that title that was given to the Christians first

  757. people of the way, own that name. These are the names that you own

  758. people of the way, much-loved child

  759. the way He calls me Jacob

  760. own these names, these are precious, you don't sell them, you don't

  761. peddle it

  762. the power to heal was resident in Jesus' name

  763. when it comes to Jesus' name

  764. there's something to the name

  765. there is something to the name

  766. it says in Timothy that there is only one name in heaven and earth

  767. by which all men can be saved

  768. there is much resident in that name

  769. there is something to taking the name of Jesus in vain

  770. it is not a name to be trifled with

  771. all the power required to heal

  772. this lame man was resident in the name of Jesus

  773. that's what Peter and John are saying here

  774. why stare at us? What has happened has happened through His name

  775. then he makes the next statement, it has happened through faith in His name

  776. as in they knew that the power to bring about this healing was resident in His name

  777. so they availed of this power by the exercise of faith

  778. guys, let's try and get this, eh? They knew that the power to heal

  779. was resident in His name, therefore they decided

  780. that they would avail of this power by exercising faith

  781. one more time

  782. they knew, I know that the power to heal

  783. the power to raise people from the dead, the power to give sight to the blind

  784. the power to save, the power to cast out demons

  785. is resident in the name

  786. the character and the authority, the influence and the advantage of Jesus

  787. I know that it is resident in the name of Jesus

  788. I must know it, if I don't know it now I must understand it here and here

  789. because my spirit knows it well, that it is resident in the name of Jesus

  790. and now that I know that it is resident in the name of Jesus

  791. I must avail of the power in this name

  792. by exercising faith, because it is the only thing that

  793. avails the power that is resident in the name

  794. you need faith for this

  795. now when they exercised faith, the power of the risen Christ

  796. filled that man's body with strength

  797. when they exercised faith, the power of the risen Christ

  798. they wouldn't talk about Jesus of Nazareth later

  799. they were still in Jerusalem, everybody knew of Jesus of Nazareth

  800. and they thought he was dead, and so they said in the name of Jesus of Nazareth

  801. as in you know him, you killed him, he's come back to life

  802. and look what happened to him, we know the power to heal

  803. to save, to rise from the dead, to take away blindness

  804. to cast out demons, is resident in that name

  805. we knew him, we saw him do that, he has left

  806. but that name is still the only name by which these things happen

  807. and the power of that name is what has made this happen

  808. what did we do? we were taught to exercise faith

  809. because he said to us that all things are possible if you believe

  810. and so we believe in the power that is resident in that name

  811. we don't know the full extent of that power

  812. but by God we are going to exert it right now

  813. and we avail of that power by exercising faith

  814. and the moment they exercised faith, something happened

  815. the power of the risen Christ filled that man's body with strength

  816. this is how it works

  817. any questions?

  818. as we begin to get bolder and bolder in this

  819. we will attempt bolder and bolder things

  820. so really, when you look at it

  821. the name of Jesus

  822. power is resident

  823. what power?

  824. without power, all the power of the universe is resident in one name

  825. any power that exists, exists because God has allowed it

  826. but all power

  827. if you could do one of those movies where things are reversed

  828. and everything goes back like in that Thor thingy

  829. that the hammer goes back, the ring goes back

  830. what's a green monster?

  831. the hulk goes back, everything goes back

  832. if you could do a reverse thingy, you would see power disappearing from kings, presidents, despots

  833. rich men, tyrants, dictators

  834. you would see power being sucked out

  835. and they would go back into this one solid piece

  836. would go back straight to Jesus

  837. because he is the only one who has power

  838. that power is resident in the name of Jesus

  839. what happens next?

  840. what happens next is a Jacob

  841. a Sue, an Eric

  842. a Don

  843. begins to avail of this power

  844. through the exercise of faith

  845. the reason they are able to exercise faith and avail of this power is because they actually believe this

  846. if they don't believe this, then you only avail as much as you believe

  847. you only avail as much as you believe

  848. therefore it is important that I understand

  849. the power in this name

  850. as I avail of it

  851. power bursts forth

  852. into the person situation

  853. that I am

  854. directing it towards

  855. whether power or life of the risen Christ

  856. now, bursts forth into the person situation

  857. that I am directing it towards

  858. and for the time that we are entering into

  859. we better understand this

  860. so how did this name get this kind of power?

  861. to begin with he was the son of God

  862. but then you go to Philippians 2 verse 9 to 11

    Philippians 2:9–11

  863. and you realize that one of the reasons

  864. this name is all powerful

  865. this name is all powerful because of one simple thing

  866. obedience

  867. you have no idea

  868. how much power can flow into you from God

  869. and flow through you and out of you from God

  870. when you are obedient

  871. and you have no idea

  872. how power is stopped from flowing through you

  873. clogs in you and does not flow out of you

  874. when you are disobedient

  875. you can depend on the grace of God to help you through disobedience

  876. it depend on the grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ

  877. to wash you from your disobedience

  878. but this one thing be sure of

  879. power stops flowing

  880. and sometimes people in disobedience begin to channel powers

  881. that are not even God

  882. the reason this name

  883. is all powerful is because

  884. it says in Philippians 2 verse 9

    Philippians 2:9

  885. because of obedience

  886. God exalted and multiplied his greatness

  887. because of obedience God exalted

  888. and multiplied Jesus' greatness

  889. he now has been given the greatest of all names

  890. he now has been given the greatest of all names

  891. he now has been given the greatest of all names

  892. he is honored far beyond anyone

  893. he is honored far beyond anything

  894. why? so that at the name of Jesus

  895. everything created in the heavens and on earth

  896. those long dead and buried

  897. everything will bow to worship him

  898. and everything will call out praise to him

  899. as master of all

  900. this is what Philippians 2 verse 9 to 11 says

    Philippians 2:9–11

  901. this is critical to understand

  902. that he was obedient unto death

  903. before he was given a name above every name

  904. it has to be understood one as

  905. listen Jacob the more obedient you are

  906. the greater the strength of power that flows through you

  907. the more disobedient you are

  908. or when you walk in disobedience

  909. you can pray yourself black and blue

  910. you can fast

  911. you may be the greatest evangelist prophet apostle on earth

  912. but power gets stopped

  913. because you walk in disobedience

  914. you will see fruit here and there

  915. but it ain't going to be the full power of God flowing through you

  916. obedience is critical

  917. for the times that we are in

  918. it's important

  919. so I don't care who you are

  920. and you shouldn't care who I am

  921. if I am walking in disobedience

  922. and if you are walking in disobedience

  923. don't expect to stand up front

  924. of this army that is marching forward

  925. but because he was obedient

  926. he has the greatest name

  927. greatest name

  928. far above

  929. far above

  930. you know I was reading a story

  931. by Smith Wigglesworth some time ago

  932. and he talks about how

  933. these six men

  934. go to pray for a guy

  935. and he says

  936. I am going to pray for a guy

  937. and he says

  938. I am going to pray for a guy

  939. and they go to pray for a guy

  940. who was deathly sick

  941. and he is dying

  942. and they go

  943. pray for him they spend time

  944. because the man called for them

  945. he said I read James 5 14

  946. and it says there that if you lay hands

  947. and anoint me with oil and pray for me

  948. then I will be healed and they pray for him

  949. and nothing happens

  950. and these six men are quite dejected

  951. they are the elders of the church

  952. and they are leaving and they are walking away

  953. you know yes we prayed James 5 14

  954. yes we cried out to the Lord

  955. why don't we go back and do the one thing

  956. that we really didn't do

  957. he says why don't we

  958. go back and just speak the name

  959. of Jesus

  960. so they go back in

  961. and they go back

  962. and they continue to whisper

  963. Jesus

  964. Jesus

  965. Jesus

  966. and the power began to fall

  967. as they saw that God was beginning to work

  968. their faith and joy increased

  969. and they whispered the name louder

  970. and louder

  971. and louder

  972. as they did so the man arose

  973. from his bed and dressed himself

  974. the secret was just this

  975. those six people

  976. had gotten their eyes off the sick man

  977. and they were just taken up with the Lord Jesus

  978. himself and their faith

  979. grasped the power

  980. that was there in the name

  981. of Jesus

  982. there is something even to the name

  983. of Jesus

  984. these old songs these old ways

  985. have been cast aside

  986. too soon man

  987. I mean I remember this song

  988. that I could never wrap my head around

  989. but I knew there was truth in it

  990. Jesus Jesus Jesus there is something

  991. about your name

  992. master savior

  993. there is something about your name

  994. this is the only name

  995. that is the greatest name of all

  996. in whom is resident all power

  997. whom is resident everything that is required

  998. for healing for raising from the dead

  999. for casting out demons for giving sight to the blind

1000. for setting the oppressed and the captives free

1001. and for salvation there is no other name

1002. but all the power required is

1003. resident in this one name

1004. I must now learn you must now learn

1005. for a time such as this

1006. to be able to avail of this power

1007. resident in the name of Jesus

1008. by exercising faith so that you can

1009. the power of the risen Christ

1010. towards the thing that you wanted

  1011. to affect

1012. so when we think what a beautiful name it is

1013. what a powerful name it is

1014. the name of Jesus we are not trying to tell Jesus

1015. hey Jesus you got a great name

1016. you got a wonderful name that's not what we are

1017. doing because sometimes it becomes that

1018. Jesus such a beautiful name you have

  1019. no I got a good name

  1020. Jacob

1021. this name that we are talking about

  1022. Jesus' name very different

  1023. Sheldon's got a good name

  1024. Sheldon Brent Hoy Loong

  1025. it's a great name

1026. but Jesus' name is not a great name

  1027. it is the name

  1028. the greatest name

  1029. magnify the name

1030. one of the things we need to do in this church

  1031. is magnify the name

  1032. sometimes magnifying the name

1033. is not just saying it louder

  1034. or saying it repeatedly

1035. or saying it with a lot of zeal

  1036. magnifying is different

  1037. I mean in Acts chapter 12

    Acts 12:12

1038. verse 12 onwards you see

1039. that there were a group of people praying for Peter's release

  1040. and they were

  1041. praying like crazy

1042. they had zeal they were

1043. praying like crazy they had zeal they were

1044. unceasing in their petition but when Peter

1045. is released by an angel and stands at their door

1046. they don't even believe Rhoda

1047. the girl who goes and says Peter's at the door

  1048. they say can't be

1049. when we talk about magnifying the

1050. name we are talking about the

  1051. increasing certainty

  1052. the increasing certainty

  1053. of the disproportionate

  1054. overpowering bigness of Christ

1055. the increasing certainty in my heart

  1056. that my God

1057. this name that I speak

1058. this name that I exercise faith

1059. to avail the power of

1060. this name who is a person

1061. I have an increasing certainty in my heart

1062. that there is a disproportionate

  1063. overwhelming bigness

1064. to the life of Christ that can enter every

  1065. circumstance everything that is

1066. impossible then begins to become absolutely possible

1067. everything that is impossible becomes

  1068. absolutely possible

1069. everything impossible becomes absolutely possible

1070. guys you have no idea how scary

1071. it must have been for Peter and John

1072. shortly after Jesus left to stand at the temple

1073. before hundreds of people that are

1074. coming in and out of the temple

1075. at the beautiful gate which used to be quite crowded

1076. seeing a lame man that they knew had sat there

1077. for many years and then having the audacity

1078. to say to the lame man

1079. listen silver and gold we do not have

1080. I know what you are trying to do you are trying to

1081. beg we don't have anything but in the name of

1082. Jesus Christ of Nazareth and they say it loudly

1083. enough so that the people know that this is the same

1084. Jesus that we heard was dead

1085. we have heard rumors he is risen and the same

1086. Jesus and the man then they

1087. grab him by his hand pull him up and

1088. strength returns and we see

1089. why Peter is so decent in

1090. explaining how he did it he says

  1091. listen this happened because

1092. of the name of Jesus

1093. then he says this happened because of the

1094. faith in the name of Jesus and then he says

1095. this happened because that faith was given

1096. to us by Jesus the great thing

1097. about the faith that I need to exert

1098. to avail the power in his name is that

1099. that faith too can come from Jesus

1100. he does it from the beginning

1101. to the end which is part of the reason

1102. that he is called the author and the

  1103. finisher of my faith

  1104. to him I look

1105. we need this for a time such as this

  1106. through this

1107. name we have access to God

1108. we have access to God so we get

1109. to know what he wants done

1110. we get to know his mind we get into

1111. his throne room we see the activity

1112. around the throne Colossians 3

  1113. 1 and 2 lift up

1114. your heads and focus where the action

  1115. is

1116. with this name we have access to

1117. God with this name or through

1118. this name we have access to God

1119. through this name we also have

1120. access to power that destroys

  1121. the works of darkness

1122. we have access to power through this

1123. name I have access to all the power

  1124. yours is a kingdom

1125. why did you think he taught that

  1126. prayer

1127. some say that that part

1128. is not included in the prayer but he says it in

  1129. many different places yours

1130. is a kingdom yours is a power yours is

1131. the glory everything is completely

1132. his do not for a second

1133. thing that there is any power that exists

1134. that he has not allowed it is

1135. not true there is not

1136. one person one person one

  1137. organization one institution

  1138. one president one anybody

1139. who has any iota of power

1140. than that which has been released to him

1141. and he has a name that is far

1142. greater like I have said many times

1143. Satan has been stripped of his authority

1144. he may have power and he

1145. rages but he knows that if people

1146. discover the name that is the greatest

1147. name of all from whom all power

  1148. comes that I am

  1149. toast

  1150. probably not I am

1151. toast that I am undone

1152. don't say anything about the devil that

  1153. the bible doesn't say

1154. let me conclude there is a faith

1155. that comes from standing in his presence guys

1156. this is different from the faith that I

1157. have naturally as a believer because

1158. of what I have learned

  1159. hear me again

  1160. because this

  1161. is not

  1162. often spoken of

  1163. we have faith because

1164. faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of

1165. God this is true we have faith

1166. because we have been given a measure of faith

1167. this is true that is

1168. our natural faith as a believer

1169. we have faith because some of us have it as a

1170. spiritual gift which is true

  1171. all this is natural

1172. faith that is given to us as believers

1173. and most of the time I am praying out of my

1174. natural faith as a believer

1175. the faith that I have learned

  1176. thus far

1177. but there is a faith that comes

1178. from standing in his presence

1179. this is a faith that sees what he can do

1180. and suddenly it becomes unlimited in

1181. and suddenly it becomes unlimited and cannot be denied

1182. this is a faith that sees what he can do

1183. this is what Peter exerted

  1184. they all had faith

1185. they had all seen the miracles they had just seen

  1186. bread multiply, fish multiply

1187. but there was something that

  1188. Peter saw about Jesus

1189. a faith that comes from standing in his presence

  1190. a faith that sees

  1191. what he can do

1192. and it is suddenly unlimited and cannot be denied

1193. and suddenly you are not praying from earth to heaven

1194. you are praying from heaven to earth

  1195. very odd it is

1196. where your prayers are not earth to heaven

1197. where you are exerting faith hoping

  1198. heaven will release something

1199. but you suddenly start praying

  1200. heaven to earth

1201. where you are not exerting

1202. faith to release something, you are exerting faith

1203. you are exerting faith to

1204. with what heaven has released

1205. I don't know how to define it properly

1206. but no more are my prayers earth to heaven

1207. it is I know what God wants in heaven

  1208. therefore I now

1209. exert it here on earth

  1210. even that isn't sufficient

1211. maybe tomorrow I will come up with a better way of explaining it

1212. it is a faith that looks to Jesus as author and finisher

  1213. it is a faith

1214. that you begin to exert almost like him

  1215. it is unflinching

  1216. it is unperturbed

  1217. it is undeniable

1218. it is the father's perfect will

1219. there is such an ease about this faith

  1220. there is no exertion

  1221. there is no doubt

1222. there is absolutely no doubt

1223. it is the father's perfect will

1224. there is absolutely no doubt

1225. you never think for a second that this is not going to happen

1226. everything is screaming against you

1227. but you are convinced that this is the most

1228. natural thing that should happen

  1229. nothing shakes you

  1230. why? because you have

  1231. stood in his presence

  1232. and you know

1233. it is a kind of faith

1234. that comes from standing before the burning bush

1235. and hearing a voice from the

  1236. burning bush saying listen

  1237. go, I will harden Pharaoh's heart

1238. but don't you worry, you will leave with all of them

1239. I am fascinated by that story

  1240. in Matthew 17

  1241. 27

  1242. how

  1243. in a river

  1244. full of fish

  1245. does one fish

  1246. come and

  1247. grab the bait

1248. and only the fish with a shekel in its

  1249. mouth

  1250. gets hooked, how?

1251. what kind of god is this?

  1252. Jesus said to him

1253. but that we may not offend them

  1254. go to the lake

  1255. throw out your line

1256. take the first fish you catch

  1257. open its mouth

  1258. you will find a

  1259. four drachma coin

1260. take it and give it to them for my tax and yours

1261. the kind of faith that Jesus exerted

1262. was the kind of faith that I am talking about

  1263. where it is

1264. there is this increasing certainty

  1265. of

  1266. God's disproportionate

  1267. overpowering bigness

  1268. that enters

  1269. life and circumstance

1270. it is unflinching, unperturbed, undeniable

1271. it works from heaven to earth

  1272. not earth to heaven

1273. earth to heaven would be, oh God, we are going to

1274. trust you now, oh God

1275. we are going to trust you that the four drachmas that are necessary

  1276. four taxes will come

1277. father, if it is not four drachmas

1278. let it be two drachmas so that I can pay my taxes

1279. and perhaps then we can look for Peter

1280. oh God, we thank you that you are a provider

  1281. you supply according to

1282. the riches of the glory of Christ

1283. you are a supplier, you are a provider

  1284. hallelujah, Jehovah Jireh

1285. I trust your name, I trust your name Jehovah Jireh

  1286. that's earth to heaven

  1287. heaven to earth is

1288. go to the lake, throw out your line

1289. take the first fish you catch

  1290. open its mouth

1291. and you will find a coin

  1292. very differently

  1293. I have a crafted

  1294. prophetic word for us

1295. what do I mean by crafted prophetic word?

  1296. it's not a spontaneous

1297. prophetic word, I've written it down

  1298. and crafted it

1299. but I needed to read it out and then we'll end

  1300. we'll end with a song

1301. speak the name of Jesus

  1302. I speak Jesus

1303. and we will trust that

  1304. Emily will

  1305. sing it

1306. regardless of how her voice sounds

  1307. so

  1308. here's the word

1309. I did not come to stand by

  1310. while the thief

  1311. steals, kills and destroys

  1312. Jesus is saying

1313. I did not come to stand by

  1314. while the thief

  1315. steals, kills and destroys
