The Juxtaposition - Naaman and Gehazi's Diverging Paths

Alright guys, let's begin.

So today we will be talking from 2 Kings chapter 5, 2 Kings chapter 5, a very familiar story,

2 Kings 5 · chapter mention 2 Kings 5 · chapter mention

the healing of Nehman, right?

From 2 Kings 5.

We're not going to watch a movie.

But I just found this picture and I liked it, so I just put it up.

But we'll be sharing about the juxtaposition of two men.

One is Nehman and the other guy is Gehazi, right?

So we'll explore these two characters in the Bible.

When we talk about this passage, 2 Kings 5, we all are familiar with this story of Nehman

getting healed of leprosy, yeah?

But interestingly, very few knows about the journey of how Nehman experienced this healing.

And secondly, in that same story, we also hear a story about Gehazi, who had squandered

his spiritual inheritance, yeah?

So we'll be discussing those two aspects of how Nehman's journey to healing and Gehazi's

squandering of his spiritual inheritance.

So the story began in the context of a Samarian house by the name Nehman, right?

Nehman was a very renowned, very honored man.

The Bible says he's a man of valor, a respected man, highly respected by the king of Aram.

And so here's this man, here's this man, Nehman, and he had a servant, he had a slave girl

who was captured as captive in one of their campaigns.

So here's an Israeli girl who was serving Nehman's mistress.

And so it's interesting how this little slave girl said, only if my master Nehman would

go and see a man, a man of God, then this man of God can heal my master.

So here is a suggestion of a little girl, and then Nehman took that seriously, and he

went and met, and the journey for Nehman's pursuit to healing began.

How?

Because of this little girl, yeah?

And it's interesting how this little girl knows the existence of God.

She knows Yahweh.

Because of her witnessing, how it had set a path for someone like Nehman to encounter

God.

Isn't that beautiful, eh?

How sometimes it just requires a simple witnessing that can set your friend, that can set your

colleague, that can set your neighbor on the path to encounter with God.

So that's how this journey begins.

May God use each one of us like this little girl, how it can ignite someone's journey

to know and encounter who God is.

So this is what God does, eh?

He births grand visions.

He births.

His purpose is for a person, for a church, for a family, for a city, for a nation.

Through unexpected people like this little girl.

And so in this story, the entire journey of Nehman began by this little girl who said,

if only my master had met the prophet.

And so today I'm going to share just three points, and I'm not going to beat around

Bush, I'm going to go straight into these three points that I want to leave you with.

Don't think for a second that these three points are going to be short, yeah?

They're going to be long, yeah.

So let's explore them.

First one.

Nehman.

Nehman, as we all know, he's a leper.

He needs a physical dipping.

Yeah?

Nehman needs a physical dipping for his leprosy.

But as we begin to explore the life of Nehman, we begin to see that it is not just a physical

leprosy that he's suffering from.

There's a spiritual leprosy that he's suffering from as well.

He had no idea of who God is.

Yeah?

And his ignorance of the true living God.

Because the Syrians are known for worshipping a false God by the name Rehman.

Yeah?

Rehman.

They worship a false God, and they have put up an altar in Damascus so that the worshippers

can come and worship this false God.

So here we see that Nehman needs both a physical dipping and a spiritual dipping.

Yeah?

And so the first point is, dip your spiritual and your physical leprosy in the living waters

of Christ.

Dip your physical and your spiritual leprosy in the living waters of Christ.

We all need a dipping.

Yeah?

And I'll tell you why.

And on top of Nehman's physical need for, sorry, you know, his need for a physical healing

and for spiritual healing, his ego stands in the way, and his rationality stands in

the way.

Yeah?

When Nehman was asked to go to River Jordan and wash seven times, yes, Nehman wanted to

be healed, but he had a divine answer, he had an expectation on a divine answer, and

yet in his terms, in his terms, yeah?

Because the River Jordan was, you know, recommended, not just recommended, but it was instructed.

He comes from Syria, and so he thought there are much better rivers in Syria, like Farpar

and Abana, he names them, and saying there are much cleaner, much better rivers in Damascus.

Why would I go to a River Jordan?

Yeah?

River Jordan, as we look today, friends go to River Jordan and take pictures, and nothing

fancy about, you know, River Jordan, yeah?

But it's interesting.

So his rational mind comes in the way.

It doesn't make sense.

It's like, it's like for Vancouver people, you know, go to Trout Lake and, you know,

take a dip.

And then one would argue, what about, you know, lakes in Alberta, Lake Louis, Lake Moraine,

they're way better, way cleaner, right?

Why not?

You know, those places.

But it's important to hear, you know, understand the context here.

His rational mind stands in the way.

And he could not see that dipping can bring healing.

He has heard of nobody, you know, a leper dipping in the water and getting clean.

That's unheard of.

So it doesn't make sense to him.

And of all the places, Jordan.

And I come, no way, right?

So it didn't, it didn't click.

And you know, secondly, Naaman is also a man of honor.

He is used to people honoring him.

Yeah?

He's a well-respected man, even by the king.

So when he went in search of Elisha, and he was at the door, and Elisha wouldn't even

come out to meet him.

It was very dishonoring for him.

He couldn't receive it.

He said, I thought he will come out and he will meet me and he will raise his arms, wave

around my leprosy, pray to his God and heal me.

So he's expecting that, you know, he will be received, he will be honored.

And what this man of God, Elisha did was very dishonoring.

He didn't even come out.

He sent a messenger and saying, go and wash in the River Jordan seven times.

He couldn't take it.

So he burned with anger and he went away.

He couldn't take it.

He wanted to be healed, but things didn't turn out the way he wanted.

He burned with anger and went away.

But thank God, Nehman had people around him who can speak truth into his life.

How the journey began was because of one little girl.

And he listened to this little girl and he went in search of a prophet.

And then on another occasion, here, here we are at Elisha's house.

Didn't happen the way he wanted.

He burned with anger, walked away.

And what the servant said, Master, if Elisha had told you to do something big,

you would still do it.

But it was a pretty simple instruction to just simply go in the river,

take a dip seven times and be healed.

Why wouldn't you do it?

And so Nehman goes, takes a dip seven times and came out clean.

Verse 14 says that the skin of Nehman was healthy as the skin of a young child.

Beautiful, eh?

Now he returns to Elisha with his entire troop, yeah, with his party.

And Nehman joined the testimony of this little girl.

He said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel.

Right? Beautiful, eh?

And then he said, I will never put up a burnt offering or offer sacrifices to other gods.

This is a big line from Nehman.

I'm never going to worship any other gods from today.

That's the journey for Nehman.

What was the process?

The process was that with his physical healing, with his physical leprosy gone,

Nehman was healed of his spiritual leprosy, yeah?

His physical leprosy being healed now, it also led to his spiritual leprosy being healed.

An awakening of faith in the true God.

An awakening of faith in the true God, yeah?

I know many people experience physical healing and come to know the Lord, yeah?

And I'm one of them.

I was always born in a Christian home.

But as we all know, yeah?

After my healing of cancer, my faith was strengthened, yeah?

But let us look at, you know, Gehazi.

In contrast, Gehazi's path was a dangerous path to embrace.

A dangerous path to embrace.

Gehazi was a man who is serving Elisha, his master, a servant.

And he had been with Elisha for several years, several years.

So he's not a stranger.

And interestingly, Gehazi had seen the hand of God working through Elisha.

When, you know, remember as we go a few chapters back, we are on chapter five,

but even if we go to chapter four, we see that there was a Shunammite woman and his son died.

And then Elisha raised him up.

And then Gehazi was there to witness that, right?

And immediately after that, there was a poison in the soup.

And then Elisha cured that soup.

And then there was, on another occasion, right after that, there's also a hundred people,

and there were only 20 loaves.

And then Gehazi multiplied.

Sorry.

You know, Elisha prayed and broke bread.

And it was like Jesus feeding on the 5,000.

Very similar, yeah?

Just that the number is a little smaller.

So Gehazi had witnessed all of these things.

He knows the one true God.

He knows that Elisha is one true prophet.

After experiencing and witnessing all of these things, it is tragic, yeah?

That in spite of knowing the God of Elisha, he chose a path of greed.

A path of greed.

Instead of trusting in God's provision, he succumbs to his greed.

By coveting what has been offered freely, Gehazi demonstrates a lack of trust in God's

all-sufficiency.

Yeah?

Tragic.

See, here's the thing.

Covetousness always exposes your lack of contentment in God's provision.

Covetousness always exposes, always exposes our lack of commitment, our lack of contentment

in God's provision.

When you are coveting somebody, when you are coveting something, like even with what God

has blessed you, you will not be content.

You'll crave for more.

It exposes your lack of contentment in God's provision, right?

That's what, you know, covetousness does.

And here we see a progression, a progression of Gehazi's sin.

It started by what?

By greed.

It was fueled, fueled by greed, right?

Because you know, Elisha said, no, no, no, I am not going to receive any gift from you,

right?

After Naaman was healed.

But Gehazi fueled by greed.

So what?

Fueled by greed, he extracted with a lie.

Extracted with a lie, yeah.

The master did not send him, but he chases after Naaman.

And then reaches to him and said, oh, you know, my master has changed his mind, and

he wants some of it, yeah?

He wasn't sent, but he extracts with a lie.

And then now he goes back and then hides it in his house, and then his master said, where

have you been, you know, Gehazi?

And he said, I haven't been anywhere.

He tries to hide with another lie.

So here's always the progression.

Fueled by greed, extracted with a lie, and adds a lie to hide it.

But we all know the story.

He got exposed, right?

When it starts with a lie, you always need another lie to cover a lie.

Yeah?

Because when we start with a lie, it always requires another lie to cover.

And then you add lies upon lies.

And it doesn't hold.

It will crack.

It'll get exposed.

I pray that whatever that is fueling us, that is not from the Spirit of God.

I pray that we don't extract with a lie.

It'll get exposed, guys.

Yeah?

We had seen many men and women of God fallen in our generation, especially on morality.

We have some big names that have been exposed lately, yeah?

We cannot hide for long, guys.

And the other problem with Gehazi is a prideful entitlement.

A prideful entitlement.

In verse 20, he said, I will run after him and get something from him.

I will run after him and get something from him.

He's dissatisfied with what he has.

He feels he deserves more.

Yeah?

So Gehazi's pursuit of Naaman's wealth is a stark betrayal.

It's a stark betrayal of Elisha's ministry.

Yeah?

It's a stark betrayal of Elisha's ministry because Elisha prioritized God's glory over

material gain.

And here, he glorified material gain over God's glory, God's integrity.

The same gift that the master refused, Gehazi chased after that.

Isn't that crazy, eh?

After experiencing and witnessing everything that God had moved in Elisha's life.

The man who had witnessed God's powerful hand dipped himself in greed, in prideful entitlement

instead of dipping in the living waters of Christ.

Just as Naaman needs a dipping, just as Gehazi needs a dipping, you and I needs a dipping.

We all need a dipping.

Yeah?

We all need a dipping.

Dip yourself in the blood of Jesus.

Dip yourself in the word.

Dip yourself in prayer.

Dip yourself in repentance.

Dip yourself in the Holy Spirit.

Dip yourself in the truth.

You will be made whole.

You will have a new life.

Everything that is diseased in your body, in your soul, in your spirit, it will be cleansed.

Not play with these little things.

Learn to dip seven times.

As in exactly as the Lord tells you, nothing less, nothing more.

Learn to dip seven times, guys.

We all need a touch of God in our lives.

Don't say, oh, I don't need a dipping.

I'm doing well.

I'm doing okay.

If you are not born again, you need a dipping.

If you have backslided, you need a dipping.

If the fire is going out, if there is lukewarmness in your passion for Jesus, you need a dipping.

All category of life.

Everybody needs a dipping.

Yeah?

You may have dipped three times.

Nothing happened.

And you dip it again.

And you dip it again.

You dip it again.

Six times now.

Nothing happened.

You dip again.

Because the word of God says seven times.

Yeah?

Don't stop at six.

Many people come very close.

Very close.

And then they give up.

Nothing is working.

When all that required was one more.

Yeah?

You know, remember the story of the teeth on the cross.

Even at the last moment, he said, remember me.

Lord, when you enter your kingdom, and Jesus said, today you will be with me in paradise.

What about the other, the other thief?

So close.

It was just one word of repentance.

That would have saved him.

So close, yet so far.

Yeah?

Nehman was not cleansed of his leprosy until the final instruction was obeyed.

The final instruction.

Yeah?

When he came up the sixth time, Nehman is still a leper.

Isn't that crazy?

When Nehman dipped for the sixth times, he was still a leper.

The seventh time he came out, he was clean.

It's important, guys.

Partial obedience is still disobedience, guys.

Partial obedience is still disobedience.

Saul is so good at this.

He will listen to the Lord through the prophets.

He will obey it, but partially.

He was counted as disobedient.

Be careful with this one.

Yeah?

He always puts a spin on his own.

He always adds something on his own.

The gospel has to be embraced in its fullness.

You cannot say, oh, this part of the Bible, I like it.

This part of the Bible, no, I don't like it.

Yeah.

This part of the Bible doesn't apply to me.

No, it doesn't work like that.

Embrace in full.

Yeah?

It's in the little things.

It's in these little instructions that our obedience is tested, that our faithfulness

is tested.

And in these little things, God releases his big promise.

Crazy, eh?

It's in the little obedience, but the promises released are always big.

You know, Elijah did not ask Naaman for a big thing to do something difficult.

It was pretty simple.

It was to humble his ego, to humble his pride, and to simply obey.

There was nothing extraordinary about Jordan, but it was more a test of humbling, surrendering

to the will of God.

So the Lord's command, the Lord's word is often very clear, uncomplicated, and many

instances, you know, adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest of the saints.

Yeah?

So pay heed to God's word at any cost.

Do not let your rationality get in the way.

That was my big problem.

For many years, my rationality would always come in the way.

And I had to deconstruct my theology.

Do not let your ego come in the way.

Do not let your pride come in the way.

Do not expect God to move in your terms.

Because God works best when we surrender.

God works best when we surrender.

Yeah?

Peter stood up on the day of Pentecost, gave a fiery sermon.

He said, the very Jesus that you guys have crucified is now resurrected.

And he said, repent and believe.

And the message, it says it cut the heart, you know, it cut the people to the heart,

you know?

And then now they said, what are we supposed to do, Peter?

And Peter said, repent, believe and be baptized.

And your sins will be forgiven and you will receive the Holy Spirit.

Yeah?

Simple.

Very simple.

They don't have to do anything.

They just have to repent of their ways and admit that they are sinners, receive Jesus

into their heart, and then be baptized.

It's in the obedience.

The obedience of faith in the Word.

The obedience of faith in the Word that brings healing.

Yeah?

So this is why.

Dip your spiritual leprosy today, guys.

Dip your fear.

Dip your anxiety.

Dip your depression.

Dip your lack.

Dip your relationship.

Dip your emotions.

Dip your fears.

Whatever that is, leprosy in your body, in your soul, in your mind, in your relationship,

in your spirit, dip it in the rivers of living water that God freely offers.

It's free.

It's free, guys.

Yeah?

Dip your addiction.

Dip anything that is off the flesh.

It is free.

Point number two.

See, I told you points are long.

We're just on point number one.

Now we go to point number two.

My actions.

My actions shape the inheritance I carry forward.

Our actions, or you can say my actions.

I like making it personal.

My actions shape, my actions today shape the inheritance I carry forward.

My actions today shape the inheritance I carry forward.

Because we can squander it or we can steward it.

Yeah?

We can steward it or we can squander it.

It's in the everyday little things.

It's in the everyday choices we make that we carry our inheritance forward.

What do we mean by that?

Nehman did not understand initially.

He didn't get it.

He didn't understand how things work.

But one thing that he did well was he paid attention to the voices around him.

He would even listen to a little girl, to a slave girl.

He listened to his soldiers.

He nearly missed his healing.

Right?

Very close.

He nearly missed his healing.

But he listened to the voices around him.

So have voices around you who will point you to Jesus.

Have voices around you who will keep you accountable to Jesus.

Have voices around you who are not scared to speak truth into your life.

Have voices around you.

Yeah?

Gazi on the other hand had the man of God, Elisha, beside him.

Isn't that crazy, eh?

And yet makes a blunder.

He had the man of God beside him.

So my point is we can have spiritual giants beside us and still squander our inheritance.

This is a very important thing.

We can have spiritual giants beside us and still squander it.

Judas had Jesus beside him.

Nobody has a better privilege than Judas.

He had Jesus beside him, walking with him daily, squandered it.

It's dangerous, guys.

It's the condition of the heart.

It's the condition of the heart.

So sin, no matter how small it is, sin is a sin.

Sin has consequences.

I know these are heart teachings.

But sin is a sin.

Sin is never relative.

Oh, it's just a small sin.

It's okay.

No.

Sin always gives birth.

When it is fully grown, always gives birth to death.

Yeah?

So when we look at the sin of Gehazi, it seemed to be pretty small.

In the first place, Nehman came and brought this gift for Elisha, but his master refused.

And so in the first place, the intent was to give this away.

And he was just trying to receive a portion of it.

So it may seem like it's not a big deal.

It's not hurting anybody.

We try to rationalize sin.

Oh, but it isn't really bad.

It's not going to hurt anybody.

I have good intentions.

Gehazi tried to justify his actions.

But sins, there are sins.

No matter how small it is, the consequences are massive.

You know, Esau settled for an instant gratification for a bowl of soup and squandered his bird

right.

Yeah?

Gehazi was positioned really well because he was the next in line to inherit a double

portion from Elisha.

And he squandered his calling, his master's prophetic calling and anointing.

And because of his short sighted greed, it replaced a spiritual legacy with a curse of

leprosy.

You can sell your bird right for a bowl of soup.

You can sell your bird right for a bowl of soup.

What God had spoken over your life, the things that God had great things in store for you,

if you and I are not careful, we can squander it for something much cheaper.

This is not just a Gehazi problem.

This happens among many believers.

Yeah?

The process of God using unassuming characters like this little girl, slave girl, and then

you know, Elisha's servants or you know, Gehazi's, sorry, you know, Naaman's soldiers who point

him.

God uses these little nobodies in our lives to point us to stay on course.

Yeah?

And it's our actions, it's in our little actions that we can either steward it, our inheritance,

to its full potential or in our everyday actions we can squander it.

Yeah?

And the last one, I'm keeping watch of the time.

The last one.

Stay faithful to the higher calling.

Stay faithful to the higher calling and let God reward and promote you.

Both are important here.

Stay faithful to the higher calling and let God reward you and promote you.

These are two important words because premature reward and premature promotion always bring

a person to ruin.

Primature reward and premature promotion always bring a person to ruin.

Do not take shortcut promotion, guys.

Unless the hand of God lifts you up.

Unless the hand of God lifts you up.

Saul is a, you know, King Saul is a classic example of this.

He takes shortcuts.

And for our workplace today, we've got to be careful of this because we work in a system

where if I don't fight for myself, if I don't advertise myself, if I don't promote myself,

I'll never get reward.

I'll never get promotion.

Yeah?

So I'm saying speak when you have to.

Stand up for somebody's right when you have to.

But I'm saying do not promote yourself.

Do not promote your own reward.

You know, premature promotion and premature reward is dangerous.

Yeah?

You know, we can even betray our own friends.

We can even betray our own teams in order to go ahead.

And the thing is, it will only lead to our downfall.

And premature reward and premature promotion is dangerous.

Why?

Because you and I can birth Ishmael.

Yeah?

And Abraham and Sarah couldn't wait.

They were promised.

They know the promise.

That they're going to have a son.

Couldn't wait.

Couldn't wait.

And what happened?

You know, Ishmael was born.

Something much lesser.

Yeah?

I pray that this doesn't happen to each one of us here.

To anybody here.

I pray that that doesn't happen.

It may take long, so be it.

Yeah?

It may take much longer than expected, so be it.

Do not settle for a premature promotion or premature reward.

It never comes in full package.

Yeah?

It never comes in full package.

Then what about the ones who had this full package?

Think of Elisha.

He goes the full distance with his master, Elijah.

You know, today your master is going to be taken away.

He could have easily stopped.

No.

As long as the Lord lives, and as long as my master lives, I'm with you.

I'm with you.

From one place to another, he wouldn't let his master go.

Goes the full distance, right?

And he saw God taking Elijah up to heaven.

He saw.

The mantle falls on him.

And he crossed over.

He crossed over Jordan.

And when he hit the river with the mantle that he had received, the water parted.

Yeah?

Received in full.

Received in full, then you will have a double portion.

Whoever that you are working under, if we are faithful, if we walk the full distance,

the double portion is released by God.

Yeah?

What?

The anointing that is upon that person comes upon you, but God also adds another portion,

and that makes it a double portion.

Yeah?

It's always beautiful, eh?

It's always beautiful.

So think of another guy, David.

David is also a classic example of that.

He had many opportunities to kill King Saul.

King Saul, he had so many opportunities to kill.

It could shorten the path to the throne.

Right?

Here is a man who is on the throne, and if you kill him, you are next to the throne.

So simple for David.

That would shorten the path.

But David is running for his life.

Someone who is at his mercy, and yet he is running from that man.

Someone who has been given to him, and he runs for his life.

Crazy, eh?

He said, I will not lay my hands on the Lord's anointed.

Isn't that crazy, eh?

You may think that God had placed leaders above you who are less smarter than you.

Don't take things for granted, guys.

God doesn't do anything random.

Let your time come.

Let the Lord elevate you.

Yeah?

David would not take the matter into his own hands.

He waited for the Lord.

He waited for the Lord, and came a day when the Lord elevated him and put him to the

throne.

That's when you receive your full inheritance, authority, influence, power, you name it.

Everything comes.

Yeah?

Gehazi's moment of compromise.

Gehazi's moment of compromise cost him two things.

One, his physical health.

Now the leprosy that was upon Naaman comes upon him.

One.

And then the spiritual inheritance gone.

He was next in line to be the next Elisha.

Gone.

Both physical, both spiritual.

What a disaster, eh?

For what?

For one thing, for compromising.

Yeah?

His greed.

An important lesson for all of us here.

I would say that don't go to the wrong source.

Don't go to the wrong source.

Don't go to the wrong place.

Don't go to the wrong source.

Don't go to the wrong place.

Naaman, right?

Naaman was suggested to meet what?

To meet whom?

Prophet, prophet Elisha.

And he goes and seeks permission from the king.

And then the king said he'll write his letter and saying that he's sent to what?

To the king.

To the king.

To the king of Israel.

So Naaman, instead of going to the prophet, he goes to the king.

Yeah?

We know that Naaman is supposed to meet the prophet Elisha.

But he goes to the king, seeks permission.

And now the king writes to the other king.

And instead of going to the man of God, he goes to the king.

And then the king said, am I a god?

That can kill and that can bring it back to life.

Right?

And then he tore his clothes.

And then Elisha said, send it to me.

Today they will know, Naaman will know that there's a true prophet in Israel.

And he says that a true prophet in Israel meaning there's a living god.

Beautiful, eh?

So we go to wrong places.

We go to wrong source.

Just to give you a couple of examples.

King Rehoboam, right?

King Rehoboam went to his friends to get counsel instead of taking counsel from the elders

and caused the kingdom to divide.

Yeah?

The Jews, they hipped together false prophets that would tell them nice things instead of

they rejected the prophet from the Lord.

And then ultimately leading to their captivity and downfall.

King Saul, instead of seeking the Lord, he sought a diviner.

Yeah?

Look for the right source, guys.

Look into the right place.

Let it come to you, guys.

Let it come to you.

Stay faithful.

Stay faithful.

Let God reward you.

Let God promote you.

Let it come to you.

Don't chase after these things.

So in conclusion, one man, Nehman had everything.

Nehman had everything that the world has to offer.

He had fame.

He had power.

He had influence.

He had position.

You name it, yeah?

Everything that the world considers as success, Nehman has it.

But nobody wants to touch him.

Leopards are a group of people who are avoided.

They are the untouchables.

Yeah?

And you know, as I'm exploring this, it's funny.

You know, the leopards, here's the practice.

You know, leopards during this time, when they come in contact with somebody who is

clean, the leopards had to wear a torn cloth and then they'll have to shout, unclean, unclean.

I am unclean.

So that, you know, the clean people can avoid them.

Yeah.

It's funny.

Yeah.

But anyway, here's a man who had everything that the world considers as successful and

yet nobody wants to touch him.

A man of valor, yet a man of disease.

And leprosy is a disease that has no cure.

It is a progressive disease that is ultimately leading a person to death.

Yeah?

There's no cure during this time.

And then Gehazi on the other hand, a man who has a bright future.

A man who is destined to be big.

Destiny awaits him.

There's a future.

A legitimate prophet.

He's a legitimate prophet.

Yeah?

Who is next in line to be the next Elisha.

You know, here's a tale of two diverging paths, guys.

Naaman, skeptical.

His ego, his rational mind, and yet gives in to instructions and then experiences healing.

Naaman's story is a story from a path of death to life.

Yeah?

A path from death to life.

Because he had leprosy and that is ultimately and progressively leading to his death and

then healed.

Yeah?

His journey was a path from death to life.

On the other hand, Gehazi, who has a bright future, destiny awaits him.

And yet his skin became as white as snow and diseased with leprosy that will cling to him

and to his descendants forever.

Tragic guys.

A tragic end from life to death.

That's why I deliberately use that word, the juxtaposition, Naaman and Gehazi's diverging

paths.

Yeah?

No matter where path you come from, whether you can associate with Naaman more or whether

you can associate yourself with Gehazi more, here's a beautiful thing.

It doesn't have to end this or that.

Yeah?

Everyone, everyone is invited to dip yourself in the rivers of living water where there

will be healing for everybody.

So I pray that, you know, we have very short time today for prayer, but I pray that you

will take advantage of that today.

And I pray that whatever your leprosy is, whatever your sickness is, be it depression,

be it fear, be it lack, be it anxiety, be it addiction, be it physical, be it spiritual,

be it emotional, you name it, whatever it is, come and be dipped.

Let somebody lay hands on you.

Let somebody pray for you and receive healing.

Yeah?
