If you say you want to walk with the Divine Warrior, He is a picture. You can't walk with
-
someone unless you are dressed like them. One of the things about the Divine Warrior is you
-
can't walk with Him, you can't keep in stride with Him unless we wear this. If you had a
-
choice, which one would you pick? If there was a weak spot, which one would you pick?
-
Just think about it for a second. In Isaiah 59 verse 17 it says, He wraps Himself in a
-
cloak of passion or zeal. He has vengeance against the enemy. He wears a breastplate
-
of righteousness and a helmet of salvation. It is from that that Ephesians 6 borrows its
-
picture. In Zephaniah 3 verse 17 it says, The Lord is like a mighty warrior in your
-
midst and He sings over you loudly. He is not singing songs of love. Mighty warrior
-
in your midst. That's the actual translation. Zephaniah 3 verse 17, I am like a mighty warrior
-
in your midst and I sing over you. You can imagine what those songs are. They are not
-
come my beloved. No. So when you look at this, it is impossible to keep in stride with the
-
Divine Warrior unless you dress correct. And so the question I have for you, and we won't
-
take it further than this today, the question I have for you is out of that from Ephesians
-
6, what is something that you wear often and out of that what is it that you don't have?
-
We can worship all we want but if we want to keep in stride with the warrior, king,
-
who is here on earth right now saying, do not pray anymore, come with me, it will be
-
impossible for this shirt, for Jacob, for you to keep in stride with him if this is
-
not how I travel. Strangely enough, this isn't traveling light but you put this on, you suddenly
-
walk faster. So I'll ask the question again and then we'll go on to the teaching. What
-
is it that you are familiar with because you wear it often and what is it that you are
-
not familiar with at all because it's not something you think of? What it means then
-
is that we take off our top hats, our tuxedos, Hawaii shorts and shirts and then we go on
-
and we wear this and it will make your stride faster and you'll be surprised. We'll talk
-
about it next time. One last announcement before we move. There are guys who need a
-
break from Acts 29 who sometimes text me or text one of the leaders and says, I would
-
like a break from Acts 29 and they have it for different reasons. Some because they don't
-
like you. Some because they want to learn something else somewhere else. Some because
-
they're finding it difficult to continue for reasons that might be personal. When someone
-
says they want a break, please let them have a break. Don't go after them and bring them
-
back. Yeah? When they're ready, our arms will be open wide but if someone wants a break
-
from now on, give them a break. Yeah? Jesus said bring back the strides but he didn't
-
mean bring back the strides who are reluctant and tie a noose on their neck and drag them
-
home. Yeah? They choke on the way and they blame you. So from now on, if someone wants
-
a break and leaves, let them take a break. When they want to come back, they will come
-
back and arms will be open wide. Yeah? Just remember that. So do not pray. Do not say
-
please come back. We love you. All that is already known. That's standard procedure going
-
forward. There will always be exceptions but I want you to know that. And when I speak
-
like this, if you feel it's not Christ-like and you're offended, come and talk to me because
-
you don't know context. Yeah? Whenever stuff like this, when the pastor says and I speak
-
openly and you feel, ah, that's not Christ-like, come and say to me, Jacob, that was not Christ-like
-
and I'll give you context and you'll say, Jacob, what can I buy you as a gift? You're
-
so wonderful. Yeah? I could have avoided the last bit. I'm sorry I added that.
-
Okay. Today's topic strangely is... Sorry. Oh, I've got to do that thing.
-
Today's topic strangely is a toolkit of acronyms. A toolkit of acronyms. And so we look at three
-
different acronyms and see which one am I clicking on. Yeah. A toolkit of acronyms.
-
A toolkit of acronyms. The first acronym is SPROLL. The first acronym is SPROLL, the
-
second one is SPEAK, the third one is SPREAD. SPROLL is for your individual life, SPEAK
-
is for the church, SPREAD is for what? What is the meaning of the word? What is the meaning
-
of the word? What is the meaning of the word? What is the meaning of the word? What is the
-
meaning of the word? SPROLL is for your individual life, SPEAK is for the church, SPREAD is
-
for what is happening now in our midst and how to understand it. SPEAK is for the church
-
at all times and SPROLL is for your personal maturity. And SPROLL is for your personal
-
maturity. Yeah. So we'll start with SPROLL. Some of it you already know. If you want to
-
really every day begin to live at a level that you'll be just so blessed by, start with
-
this idea every morning that I am a son and then a daughter. And then you'll be blessed
-
by a servant. I know we've heard this a million times, but have you realized or do you notice
-
that that's not how we start our day? I'm a son or a daughter, that I'm a son and then
-
a servant. Psalm 80, verse 15 says, you are the son I'm raising for myself. You are the
-
root that I have planted. You are the root that I have planted. And you are the son I'm
-
raising up for myself. Psalm 80, verse 15. Every day it's so critical that I get this
-
part. If I do, I immediately see him as father and I immediately come to the conclusion that
-
he is here. He has not gone anywhere. He is here. He is here. He is here. He is here.
-
He has not gone anywhere. He is not planning to. This is where we start. I do this every
-
day and it helps. That I'm a son and then a servant. I am not a servant first. It's
-
a really bad idea to be a servant first. It's a really bad idea to be a servant leader first.
-
You have to be a son. Anyone who gets it wrong, just think of your own kids. What if your
-
kid Gabe or your kid Liam or your kid Judah decided that they were servants in the house
-
first? That's the first one. Once you get to the son stage, you have to decide whether
-
you want to stay at being a much loved child, which is a great place to start, but do you
-
want to go further to knowing the father's heart and then do you want to go further
-
to becoming a mature son? These are three stages that are important to travel through.
-
We talk about being a much loved child and it's important, but a much loved child should
-
be what you go back to when you mess up, when you fall, when you're unsure of God.
-
Go back to much loved child. There is a progression. We don't want our children to stay babies.
-
We go from much loved child to knowing the father's heart. A much loved child needs to
-
be reassured and we'll find reassurance in the arms of the father. You go from a much
-
loved child to a place where you now begin to know the father's heart and it's okay if
-
he doesn't say anything. It's okay if he doesn't ruffle your hair. Then you go to a place called
-
mature son where now you're taking care of your younger brothers and sisters. Very often
-
what happens is we get stuck at much loved child and then it's this constant flurry of
-
reassurance that's both from God and man. Any questions on that?
-
Okay, next one. Pray in the mountains. Pray in the mountains. P, pray in the mountains.
-
Jesus used to do this. Turn to John 6.15. Pray in the mountains. John 6.15. John 6.15.
-
Then Jesus, because he knew they were coming to, coming, they were going to come and seize
-
him by force to make him king, withdrew again. It's not the first time. Withdrew again up
-
the mountainside alone and that's where he begins to pray and then he comes walking to
-
them on the water come evening. He spends an entire day up the mountain because he knows
-
what he's facing. So this idea of praying in the mountains is super important and find
-
your time. If you can't do it in the morning, find it in the afternoon. If you can't do
-
it in the afternoon, find it in the evening. If you don't find it, you will unravel. You
-
will unravel. That's not a negative confession. That's the truth. You will unravel. Find that
-
time where you withdraw. Pray in the mountains. He would do it. If he did it, surely you need
-
it. Find time. And if you miss a day, you don't have to go two hours the next day.
-
Just go back, which leads us to the next one, which is R. R is for retrieve immediately.
-
R is for retrieve immediately. Retrieve immediately. In 2 Kings 6, there's a story of some disciples
-
of Elisha who took his permission before they went to build a school and they were chopping
-
down trees to build a school and the prophet had blessed the endeavor. And in those days
-
it was like God blessing the endeavor. And while they were chopping wood, they had borrowed
-
an axe because Israel did not have metal tools. They had borrowed an axe from the Philistines
-
or whoever. While they were chopping, the axe that flies out goes into the water, sinks.
-
And Elisha says, where did the axe hit fall? And then he throws a piece of wood and the
-
axe that floats up and he says, go and take it. This idea of retrieving immediately is
-
a Christian talent that surprisingly gets lost because of the guilt and the condemnation
-
and times that we live in. Whenever you mess up, retrieve immediately. Whenever you make
-
a mistake, retrieve immediately. Whenever you lose sight of him, retrieve immediately.
-
Don't wait for Monday. Don't wait for the first of the month. Only the rent gets paid
-
that day. It's not rent immediately. It's retrieve immediately. Go get it back immediately.
-
Do not waste time. Do not let guilt or condemnation keep you away from God. Sin must drive one
-
to God, not keep one away from God because it is sin that drove Jesus to you. Sin must
-
drive one to God, not keep one away from God because it is sin that drove Jesus to you.
-
When you mess up, retrieve immediately. Go find the place that you last were connected
-
with God. Throw the piece of wood there. Let it float up because I guarantee you of that
-
miracle. I guarantee you that miracle. Every time you throw the wood where the axe had
-
fell, you will retrieve it. God is like that. The days that are lost between falling and
-
rising up actually is a measure of your maturity. The days and the hours spent between failing
-
or falling and coming back to normal, be it with God or be it with people, is actually
-
a sign of your maturity. Your response and retrieval time, recovery time, will show me
-
whether you are mature or whether you are not. The longer you take, the more immature
-
you are. Any questions on that? Any questions on that? You heard what I said, right? Because
-
in Isaiah 30, I think it's verse 15, I might be wrong, it says, in returning and rest is
-
your strength. You are the strength of the world. You are the strength of the world.
-
You are the strength of the world. You are the strength of the world. You are the strength
-
is your strength. Go back quickly, eh? Next one, eh? Eh is aware in Christ, not aware,
-
not just aware of, aware in Christ, aware in Christ. At 1728, there's this pretty amazing
-
verse, we used to sing it when we were kids, in Him we live and move and have our being.
-
In Him we live and move and have our being. It's to be aware in Christ. It's the same
-
thing that at present happens to any baby in a mother's womb. Every awareness that baby
-
has comes through the mother's womb. Sounds, prayers, movements, worship, it's all felt
-
through someone. When you are aware in Christ, you begin to see what Christ is showing you
-
that you would not otherwise notice. When someone is really in love, you notice what
-
they see when you take them shopping but won't buy. When you're not really in love, you breathe
-
a sigh of relief that you walked past Gucci without her looking at it. You are not really
-
in love, you breathe a sigh of relief that you walked past Gucci without her looking
-
at it. But when you're in love, every time she looks at something longingly, you're writing
-
it on the palm of your hand, which you will wash and you will forget anyways. But the
-
point is, you still notice, you notice what she likes through her eyes. Everything becomes
-
through her eyes. Or if you're a female, through his eyes. But then guys hardly look at anything
-
except George. To be aware in Christ is different from being aware of Christ. Practice it, it's
-
a wonderful skill. Colossians 3.3, Colossians 3.3, it says that, let me read it from the
-
beginning. Colossians 3.3, verse 2, don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorb
-
with things right in front of you. Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ.
-
That's where the action is. See things from his perspective. Your old life is dead. Your
-
new life, which is your real life, even though invisible to spectators, is with Christ in
-
God. He is your life. So you're wound in Christ who is wound in God. And you begin
-
to see things from his perspective. You'll notice people who need a ten dollar tip even
-
though you bought food worth five dollars. You will notice those that are outsiders who
-
need a helping hand. You will notice blind Bartimaeus. You'll begin to see things that
-
way. Awareness of Christ is a good place to start, but that is sometimes self-serving,
-
because you want an intense relationship. Awareness in Christ is completely different.
-
You should try it. As a pastor or someone who leads a thing, it's a great gift if I
-
can cultivate it, because if I'm aware in Christ, I'm aware of what he's aware of, not
-
aware of God and how the worship service should go. W. You should try it. You should try it.
-
Walk in your season. Walk in your season. Walk in your season. 1 Chronicles 12-32. There
-
was a tribe called the tribe of Issachar who knew their times and seasons. That's the name
-
of the tribe and that was a blessing that was theirs from God. They knew their times
-
and seasons. Isaiah 28, 23 onwards. Different seeds are sown at different times and are
-
harvested differently and are threshed differently and the master teaches us all this. How do
-
you discover your seasons with the Spirit and with counselors? You know, I often think
-
that I often hear students in school saying, I went and spoke to my counselor. What are
-
they speaking to their counselor about? About what course to take in the future. Why? Because
-
that may determine the job you get, the career you choose and the college you go to. It's
-
the same method. If you know how to walk in your season with regard to your job and your
-
education, wouldn't it be a great idea to walk in your season by finding out from the
-
Spirit what is it? It is not an easy peasy prophetic word. It is more laborious than
-
that but it is so worth it. The only other way to walk in that is if you're walking in
-
such righteousness that God will direct your steps. But you may still not know where you're
-
at. There's an intentionality about this method. And the last one. Yep. Sorry. Yep.
-
Isaiah 28 verse 23 onwards. Different seeds are sown at different times and are harvested
-
at different times, threshed differently, and the Master teaches us all this. That's
-
what Isaiah 28, 23 says. And the last one is love with the Spirit. Love with the Spirit.
-
Discernment or judgment. Sorry. Love with hope after discernment and judgment. Love
-
with hope after discernment and judgment. You must judge what is happening. To love
-
without discernment and judgment is a really bad idea. One must love with discernment,
-
with judgment, as in judge things correctly. And then even if things are broken, love
-
with hope. So let's assume that Tooney is a difficult person. Is Anil here? Yeah. Okay.
-
So let's assume Tooney is a difficult person. Like it is so hard to work with him. But just
-
because he sings out there we shouldn't think he's sugar coated. And it will require that
-
Tooney be judged for some of the things he does wrong. That we discern where he goes
-
awry. We understand that these are areas that Tooney should change in. And it could well
-
be that after you help him, talk to him, that he still refuses. I should love him with hope,
-
expecting that tomorrow Tooney can change. Day after tomorrow Tooney can change. A year
-
from now Tooney can change. But I should not pretend that Tooney exists without problems.
-
That's not love. That's ostrich. One of the things that happens in a church sometimes
-
is you become so loving that it's absolutely no good to the person that you love. Imagine
-
if you loved your children that way. That's not the way to do it. Any questions? Sprawl
-
is important. As we go further and as people are put under our care, it is important to
-
love with hope after discernment and judgment, not without discernment and judgment. I can't
-
hear you, Dana. The fan's allowed so you'll have to speak louder. I can't hear you. Can
-
you hear me? Retrieve because sometimes I drop what God is doing in my life and walk
-
away and I need to actually retrieve it. It's not even reconnect. I'm so removed from it.
-
It seems so impossible to get it back. Many of us here, when we look back at some of the
-
things that have happened to us and the dreams that have died, you begin to think, how in
-
the world am I going to ever get this back? You retrieve it. Once you retrieve it, it
-
can be attached or you can leave it alone. I love what Elijah says. Show me where it
-
dropped. And then he causes it to come up and then he says, now go pick it up. It doesn't
-
mean because it floats that everything is done. Okay. Any other questions before we
-
move on to the next one? Okay. Next one is for the church. Let's come to that last. Let's
-
go to spread. That kind of explains what's happening with us right now. S is for signs
-
of his presence. Signs of his presence. S is for signs of his presence. S is for signs
-
of his presence. Signs of his presence. Let me write them all down and then we'll go to
-
purifying fire. Then I can pick what I want. Revival. Hebrides 2.0. This one will be hard
-
to understand. I'll have to explain it. Eight princes and seven shepherds. Abundance. Abundance.
-
Abundance. Abundance. Abundance. Abundance. Abundance. Abundance. Abundance. Abundance.
-
Divine warrior. So let me start with our, as I was saying last Sunday maybe or last week,
-
almost four years, eight months ago. And this is something that nobody can convince you
-
whether it's true or not. You'll have to check with the spirit. If the spirit helps you see
-
it, so be it. If not, try again or I don't know what else to say because I can't deny
-
it nor can I convince you. It will have to be a work of the spirit. So more than four
-
years ago, four years and some months, when the Lord first said that, listen, in 1949
-
there was this thing called Hebrides 1.0. I want to start 2.0. Affecting young men and
-
women, 20s and 30s across the earth, we said yes to it and we had a week called Shekinah
-
where every week we met and we wanted to say to God that we receive what we have. Then
-
we went to the place where Hebrides happened, the revival happened. And then last two Fridays
-
ago, not this Friday, the Friday before that, some of us were sitting and worshipping and
-
while we were worshipping, we were praying, oh God, when is this going to come? When is
-
this going to come? And I was playing the guitar and leading and worship and at some
-
point I had to stop because I could hear the distinct loud cry of a baby and there are
-
no babies in my house. And then I'm thinking to myself, how is this sound even coming?
-
Now this is anecdotal. Should you build theology on it? No. But why am I sharing it? How else
-
do I explain this? And so you hear the sound of this baby and you begin to think, okay,
-
so I'm hearing the sound, maybe there's a baby in the other apartments. Nothing like
-
that. Finally, I opened my eyes and I look around to see why the sound is coming. And
-
as I'm looking around, I hear God saying, and I already said this three times this week,
-
I hear God saying, listen, you've been praying that this thing called Hebrides 2.0 be birthed.
-
I want to say to you that it is here, so stop praying for it. And that was what began Monday
-
night and Tuesday night and Thursday night. And those that were there to taste it, to
-
experience it, know that we've begun to taste and experience something that is distinctly
-
different from anything and everything Acts 29 has experienced to this day. Distinctly
-
different. And so since then, two things have been made evident. When you look at what Hebrides
-
2.0 is about, here's what it used to say. I am sending a purifying fire that will burn
-
up historical and religious junk. That's in Hebrews 12. I will enter as divine warrior,
-
Isaiah 59, 17. And I will set free young men and women from nations into the kingdom. And
-
I will call them sons and daughters. And I will invite them into a circle of abundance,
-
of dancing and of joy before the lion and the lamb. And I will raise for myself a torch-bearing
-
generation that will go out and will not return empty. That's a statement. The statement has
-
to change now. There is a purifying fire that is already on earth. You, Acts 29, have experienced
-
it over the last three times you've met and you will continue to experience it. It will
-
burn up everything that is not Christ so that the only thing that is left is Christ. And
-
as people stand before Sheldon, they will stand before the presence of God. We have
-
to change the second line too. Not, I will enter as divine warrior. I stride the earth
-
as divine warrior. Those are the two important parts to this entire equation. Those are the
-
two parts that make the other things form. I will set the young men and women free. I
-
will invite them into a circle of dancing, abundance and joy before the lion and the
-
lamb. I will take them from nations into a kingdom. I will raise a torch-bearing generation.
-
All that happens because of two things. One, I will come as a purifying fire and he is
-
here and I will be a divine warrior and he is that. Learn it. Ask anybody who is a purifier.
-
Anybody who works in any position where you have people under you and you have a project
-
to do. You learn, learn the fundamentals of the project. You can never go and explain
-
it to somebody. Learn it. If you don't believe it, don't learn it. You can taste it. But
-
if you believe it, learn it. Any questions on that one? Okay. So, I will end this lecture
-
here. So, that's R. S is signs of his presence. If God is going to do what he is going to
-
do, then we need to understand that we need to, as people have been praying here and I
-
think Derek prayed today, you have to have signs of his presence. I think Don prayed
-
wells of healing, wells of provision. Where are the signs of his presence? If revival
-
is the proximity and the nearness of a terrifyingly holy God who is consuming fire and father
-
is in the house, then what about burning up sickness? What about burning up lack? What
-
about burning up oftenhood? What about burning up situations that are averse? What about
-
burning up the enemy's traps? What about those burnings? Signs of his presence. That's what
-
we are talking about. How do we go about not backing off on signs of his presence?
-
Arm yourself with the truth of the word. What does he say about this particular thing? If
-
that is true, then I will trust the word, trust the spirit, trust the spirit. That's
-
the second one. Try the promise. You cannot try it if you don't choose to be foolish.
-
No promise is proven without foolishness. Hey, hear me again. No promise is proven without
-
foolishness. If you have a promise in your life, if you want to see God work in your
-
life, I assure you there is no promise that will be proven without foolishness. I assure
-
you. That's how promises work. Psalm 105, the word of the Lord tested him. His hands
-
were put in shackles. His feet were put in chains. And the word of the Lord tested him.
-
And when the word came to pass, Joseph went from being a prisoner to the Prime Minister
-
of Egypt. What does foolishness invite? The scorn of men.
-
That's why we shy away from it. Try the promise. Four, test the soul. Five, tell the story.
-
Hopefully next week we'll have someone talk about this. How they received the truth of
-
the word. That God in his nature is a healer. How they then began to trust the work of the
-
spirit. That they would trust the work of the spirit. You know what trust the work of
-
the spirit looks like. Oh God, I am not going to do any hard sell. What has to happen here
-
has to be sheerly you. I can't even look at faces and figure out whether Janelle believes
-
it, whether Iris believes it, or whether Anna believes it. Because their faces may either
-
be ehh, doesn't sound real. Or aha, wonderful truth. You can't go by faces. Ezekiel 1 says
-
something. God says to Ezekiel, do not be dismayed by the look on their faces. Oh it's
-
one of my favorite scriptures when I come to Acts 29. It'll be yours too if you come
-
here. Because trust the spirit. That the work of the spirit is enough to change. Third one,
-
try the promise. Try the promise even though you failed 43 times before. That's as many
-
years as the Canucks have tried to make it to the Stanley Cup. Doesn't matter how many
-
times you failed, try it again. Because this year Vancouver is the home of the Stanley
-
Cup champions. Yeah? So you keep trying the promise. The leaves of the promise are the
-
same. So you keep trying the promise. The leaves have been saying it for 65 years. Yeah?
-
Don't smile. Wipe that smile off your face. So try the promise. Sheldon, you want to talk
-
about hockey or this? This, okay. Sorry? Yeah. It's just helplessness. It's just helplessness
-
helplessly falling backwards on his faithfulness. Helplessly falling backwards on his faithfulness.
-
Nothing less than that. What God is inviting this church into, it's just such a foolish
-
thing. Fourth one, test the soul. Your emotions will go up and down. Let God test your soul
-
and let him find you trustworthy. Let him test your soul. Let him test your soul. Let
-
you be able to show him that your soul is stable. May you write psalms when you're down
-
and psalms when you're up like David because he knew how to always bring his soul back
-
to a place where it was stable. On one hand he'll say, why should I go mourning oppressed
-
by your enemies? Look, they mock at me. And then as he comes to the end of the psalm,
-
he'll say, send forth your light, send forth your truth and let them guide me well. Let
-
them lead me to your mountain, the place where you dwell. There I will go to the altar of
-
God, my joy and my delight and I will bless you and praise you. Oh God, you are my God.
-
Why are you so sad, my soul? Why so disturbed with me? Put your trust in God for I will
-
yet praise him. This is what we do in every circumstance, guys. Next week we'll hear a
-
story like this and then the last one is tell the story. Do not tell the story when
-
you get to the end. Tell the story while it's happening. Tell the story while it's happening.
-
Tell the story while it's happening so that they can come and say at the end of it, how
-
does your God work because mine doesn't? I'm going to tell you a story. I'm going to tell
-
you a story. Purifying fire. Purifying fire. We've talked about it already. It's a consuming
-
fire from the Father that burns up everything until only Christ is left. It's a consuming
-
fire. You know one of the areas that God's been working on my life in, in terms of purifying
-
fire, pride. Every time pride rises up in my life over the last one week, he takes his
-
finger and pokes it saying, dare. The great thing is every time that is happening, I have
-
an opportunity to repent and retrieve immediately without guilt or shame or condemnation because
-
I know what he's working on. I keep telling myself, you're not the meekest man on earth
-
yet. That was Moses and your middle name is not Moses, Jacob. Keep working at it. That's
-
one area. Yesterday someone cut us off in traffic. Goat came up. What is yours? It's
-
so unfortunate that we can't pass a mic around asking what area God is pointing your finger
-
at. I would do it for you happily but I'm not God. Oh, that's the wrong screen. Consuming
-
fire. Guys, invite it. This is such a cool fire. It's from the Father. It consumes.
-
What if I stick with this? Not only will I benefit, you will benefit and people will
-
see God more clearly because pride has nothing to do with Christ. Everything about him is
-
diametrically opposed to pride. It's the reason why people get offended. People get
-
angry. People make bad decisions. People feel like they're being treated badly all because
-
of it. What is wrong, Jacob, with being humiliated? What is wrong with humiliation? Oh, but you
-
shouldn't be a doormat. When have you been a doormat, Jacob? We always go to this thing
-
of we shouldn't be doormats. I've got no problems with that because I've never been a doormat
-
in my life. I'm not trying to beat myself up here. I'm trying to say that what a wonderful
-
thing when meekness begins to affect my life. And it's not through outer signs, eh? Me saying
-
dearly beloved brothers and sisters doesn't make me humble or lowering my voice. It's
-
not there. It's something inside. I'm not trying to beat myself up here. I'm trying
-
to be a doormat. Next one. Eight princes and seven shepherds. That's from Micah 5, verse
-
4 and 5. It's actually verse 5, I think, where God says, listen, when the adversary comes
-
into Jerusalem or Judah, I will raise up for you eight princes and seven shepherds.
-
It actually says seven shepherds and eight princes. And they will stand at the gate and
-
prevent the adversary from entering it. Not only that, not only will they prevent and
-
defend Jerusalem and Judah, they'll go into a Syrian territory and they'll take territory
-
from the enemy. One of the things that will happen during this time that God is taking
-
Acts 29 through is people will rise up from this congregation and stand up like they've
-
never stood up because the Holy Spirit will descend upon you like it did upon Samson,
-
like it did upon Saul, like it did upon people in the Bible, where suddenly something will
-
happen inside you. I've seen it, man. I've seen it. I remember the first time, 1990,
-
1990, this guy called Mike from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is preaching in a U.S. Navy chapel. And he
-
asks, are there people here who really want God to touch them and change them so that
-
they'll never be able to escape the hand of God? I've been a believer for four months
-
and I go up and he looks at me, he lays hands on me and he prophesies and says, son, you
-
have got the gift of faith and he prays over me and something hits me, man. And I've never
-
been the same since then. Never. It changed me from inside. I suddenly had what it takes
-
to believe things that are impossible. And the reason I'm saying it is because it's a
-
gift. It's not even my own. I can't claim to have grown. It is a gift. That's what the
-
Spirit of God can do. Where a Prosper sitting there or a Nelly sitting here or a Chermy
-
suddenly has the Spirit of God watch upon them. The same God will do it again. You know
-
why? Because he has a vested interest in what he's doing on the earth. And he has found
-
the people, which is why he's saying, I'm not waiting for you to call out to me again.
-
The purifying fire is here and I stride the earth as the divine warrior. And he says,
-
if that doesn't wake the dead, nothing will. Did I tell you about those emergency guys
-
that came in once they went into a church because someone had died and they couldn't
-
find the dead person? Because everybody was dead. And I was like, I'm not going to die
-
because everybody looked the same. My God, when you have to explain a joke, it's difficult.
-
But this is not our case. They found what they needed to find immediately. You know
-
what God is looking for and what I am desperate for? God is not desperate for it. God is looking
-
for it. He knows and he'll find. He'll find a Remy. He'll find a Prosper. He'll find
-
a Terme. He knows ahead of time. He knows your tomorrow. The more you resist, the more
-
you fall off your donkey and your eyes go blind till an anus have to come around. That's
-
the only difference. Listen to me. I said to someone last week, either leave this church
-
because you are not allowed to coast in this church. You are not allowed to coast in this
-
church. You can't come and sit, leave this church or rise up because that is the kind
-
of God that is present in this church right now. And when you face that kind of God, then
-
one of two things happen. Either people step up or God knocks them off their horse. They
-
go blind for a while and then an anus has to come. They don't eat for three, four days.
-
You lose weight. You lose sight and you still come back to your senses. There's a better
-
way to do it. So quickly go to God and say, Father, here, can you consume this and can
-
you consume this and can you consume this and can you consume this? Hey, you may not
-
like this package, but you have to decide whether what this package is saying is the
-
truth or not. Do not judge the truth by the package. Judge him morally, but do not judge
-
the truth by the package. Because I shout or because I come out straight doesn't mean
-
that you judge the truth through the package. This is not the way it's done. It is important
-
for you to know it because we are in a time where you can't sit on the fence guys and
-
you can't sit with your wounds either. God needs you. God needs you, not me. I'm just
-
desperate. What's he looking for? Inheritance carriers. Inheritance carriers. You know what
-
inheritance carriers are? They're the ones who carry the inheritance forward for someone
-
else's children and grandchildren. Portal openers. Can I find some here who are so convinced
-
of what I'm doing and of the truth that you can go somewhere and you can stand and as
-
you stand just because you believe in me as God and believe me in the truth I'm speaking,
-
that I will begin to flow to you and touch anything that moves. These are the eight shepherds
-
and the seven princes. For us God will make a concession. He'll say I don't mind your
-
faces as long as I know your hearts. In most southern churches or in any church in Africa
-
this kind of preaching would be so full of hallelujahs and amens and praise the Lord.
-
Here one has to trust the Lord for more strength. What's wrong with you, Bishop? Guys, what
-
you steward is what you multiply, is what you have to do. You have to do what you have
-
authority over. It goes back to Genesis 1.27 and 1.28, the Adamic mandate. What you steward
-
is what you multiply and what you have authority over. Any time God gives something to a people
-
and says to him, hey John, can you steward this well? And John steps up under the power
-
of the Spirit of God and he says, all I have for this cause I will steward it, oh God,
-
pour your Spirit upon me. What he stewards will immediately begin to multiply because
-
he's stewarding it under the power of the Spirit. And whatever you multiply you have
-
authority over. As in it's radial authority, it keeps increasing. We steward by the power
-
of the Spirit. We steward by the power of the Spirit. When God said to Adam, go forth,
-
multiply, replenish, subdue, it was not by Adam's strength, he was just one man. It was
-
by the strength of the Spirit. One of the things this church is blessed with is that
-
it has Abraham's who stewarded the promises, Isaac's who dug wells and renamed them, Jacob's
-
who wrestled still to bring it to pass and Joseph's who will go out there in Egypt and
-
show that God is a purifier and God is a divine warrior. Who are you? Who are you? Ask this
-
question of yourself. Who are you? Are you the Abraham kind who's stewarding a promise?
-
Well then define the promise. Let me hear it. I'm challenging you. Who are you? Abraham
-
stewarded the promise. Isaac's go and dig up the wells that have been covered and they
-
rename them saying, oh God, I remember this well. You said there's a well of healing here.
-
Well, I'll go dig it up. Jacob's will wrestle through thick and thin, through circumstances
-
that are negative, through lack. They'll still wrestle. I will not go till you bless me.
-
That's what our prayers are right now. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, today. Oh God, I'll wrestle
-
with you. Change our name but we will not let you go till you bless us. That's what
-
his name is praying when he started shouting from there. What's your name? Dennis Caleb.
-
And then you've got Joseph's. Joseph's are the one that now go out in the strength of
-
Abraham's, Isaac's and Jacob's and they go out there and they begin to function with
-
such ease. Who are you? You have to be one of them. Pardon? You can be more than one.
-
Yes. A. Abundance. Can you go read these two scriptures this week at a time when you're
-
at home? One is Zechariah 8 and the other one is Isaiah 60. These are kind of inheritance
-
passages for us at this time from God. Zechariah 8. I remember being at the first meeting that
-
we had at Josh and Charlene's home in Burnaby. That's when God gave us this promise saying,
-
the day is coming when Acts 29, you will see Zechariah 8 in the city that you are in.
-
You should go read it. At one point in Zechariah 8 verse 12 or 13, it talks about how God will
-
change our fasts to feasts. Once again the young will walk around with joy, the old will
-
be strengthened. And then read Isaiah 60. Instead of bronze, I'll give you the golden
-
instead of wood, I'll give you bronze. It's a time where there will be increase that goes
-
from where you are stuck to a place you didn't imagine. And then you will see the change
-
will be an exchange for you, for your business, for your marriage, for your children. It is
-
so hot here, I could preach a sermon on salvation and get people saved. Treasures of darkness
-
we will get. Treasures of darkness are the souls of men and what they bring to the temple
-
of the church. We'll talk about that later, but this is the idea. Can you go read Isaiah
-
60 and Zechariah 8? And as you read it, can you pray that other people at Acts 29 receive
-
the benefit of these two verses? And finally, it's the Divine Warrior. S-P-R-E-A-D. Divine
-
Warrior, and let me, we'll end with that, we won't do the other thing today. Divine Warrior.
-
Who is the Divine Warrior? What does he do? What's he doing in our midst? Besides the
-
parts of the armor that I showed you, what's he doing in our midst? One, he is Sheldon,
-
Sheldon, you are the new associate pastor. Don't you love going and doing this? You guys
-
don't do that? Still so much fun. He is preparing disciple soldiers. He is preparing disciples
-
for the battle. He will lead into battle with his presence. All these will be elaborated
-
later and he will set creation and children free from bondage. He will set the bondage
-
and children free from bondage. What's the Divine Warrior doing? This is one of the things
-
he will continue to do. Can I prepare you as disciple soldiers? The crazy thing is there
-
are amazing soldiers who don't want to be disciple, so they don't get called. They will
-
have to be mavericks. Another word for mavericks when you go to war is mercenaries. I'm sure
-
mercenaries are going to be mercenaries. Guns for hire. So that's one. Second, he will lead
-
into battle with his presence. What does it look like to heal, deliver, raise, cleanse,
-
save? And then the last thing is he will free from bondage. He will set the bondage and
-
he will set the bondage. Spiritual, social, decay, demonic, disease, damage, death.
-
Modest statement of faith. I will see this with you. I will not see this separately,
-
but I will see this with you. This is important. Every word I'm saying is important. I will
-
not see this separately. I will not be allowed to see this separately. I will see this with
-
you. It's almost factual. It's not even faithful. Any questions, guys? Any questions?
-
Because Romans 8.15 says that, that a day is coming when creation will be set free from
-
its bondage and corruption and the children of God will be set free too. And both creation
-
and the children of God will begin to enjoy the glorious freedom that belongs to the sons
-
of God. Both. God is after everything he's made. Can I restore it all? Can you help me
-
in it? I know you know this word. Even though you don't know its meaning, for that you have
-
to spend $24,000 at Regen. But I can do it for two. Yeah? We are, we are the children
-
of God. An eschatological community of Christ giving people a taste. Not a complete taste,
-
but a pretty good taste. And I know that you know this word. I know that you know this
-
word. Of the end before it comes. As in, we are an end time, while everyone's waiting
-
for end times, end times, end times, we are an end time community that have the ability
-
to give people a pretty good taste of what it will be like in the end. And we can give
-
that taste to them right now. What does that look like? The joyful dancing and prancing
-
of undignified childlike joy. That's, that's an end time phenomena. And I know that you
-
know that we get a taste now. Our people get a taste. The reason people get repulsed
-
by it or find it hard to jump into it, because of our traditions and our cultures. Do you
-
realize that it doesn't matter which kid from which culture, they all behave the same? You
-
can take someone from India, China, New Zealand and Surrey. I don't know how that got in there.
-
But you can, and yet they all behave the same. It's later that they get dignified. Healing,
-
provision and end time community. Come on man. Isn't that such a magnificent opportunity,
-
responsibility, joy? I visited Don's house when he first moved into that house. And there
-
were just boxes all over the place. It just looked pretty ugly. But I kept saying, oh
-
wonderful house, wonderful house. And then recently I visited it again. And you should
-
have seen how Don was taking us, showing in different rooms. And everything looked so
-
good. And you could see that he was happy with what he was showing. It wasn't pride,
-
it wasn't boastful. But he was saying, hey look at this and look at this. And everything
-
was done well. He even had three little electric candles that he turned on so we can view them.
-
But the point being this, there was a joy in showing something done well. It's our privilege
-
guys. It's my privilege. You know, every time I see some of us, all of us coming and doing
-
what we do here and it actually is from a genuine place of joy, my heart thrills. Oh
-
God, you're creating a community that doesn't care. Every time you do worship without instruments,
-
my heart thrills. Every time Eden comes up and Mia comes up or we had Phoebe sing a
-
song at North Vancouver. Every time they sing I think to myself, this is so cool.
-
Next week when we hear healing testimonies, what if there are two new people and they
-
hear that our God heals? Next week when Mark comes by and he says, you know, I know what
-
happened and it was, I felt a little embarrassed and I believe I left in a Rolls Royce. We'll
-
have to tell him it wasn't a Rolls Royce. But at the end of the day, he'll come back
-
here and instead of going downwards, he'll start going upwards and you'll rejoice in
-
your heart. For there is nothing that seems to be able to bring a good man down. This
-
is what we're talking about. An end time community present right now are people tasting it. People
-
that were offended, no longer carrying offense. People that were proud, getting meeker by
-
the day. But if someone cuts me off in traffic, I'll honk and say, the day is coming guys.
-
The day is coming guys. The day is coming.
