Metamorphosis

It seems like, it feels like, it's one thing to say Christ is resurrected. It's another

thing to at least begin to grapple with the idea of what does resurrection life look like

for us? And we need to understand that Jesus' death was not proof enough, Jesus' death

was not proof enough that our sins were taken away. It wasn't proof enough that our sins

were taken away. Because anybody can die and say, I've taken your sins away. So Jesus'

death was not proof enough that our sins were taken away by a sinless man. If that sinless

man was really sinless, he would have to rise from the dead. It is important to understand

Jesus' death was not proof enough that our sins were taken away. If someone is sinless,

he must rise from the grave. And so his death was not enough. If he didn't rise, we'd just

be hazarding a guess that Jesus actually took our sins away. He had to rise. If he didn't

rise, it just meant that a good man died and that's about it. So Jesus' death was not proof

enough that our sins were taken away by a sinless one. If the sin bearer was sinless,

if the sin bearer was sinless, then resurrection would prove it. Then resurrection would prove

it. Because the wages of sin are death and if he was actually sinless, as it says in

Acts chapter 2, it would be impossible for sin to hold him down because only a sinless

Acts 2 · chapter mention

man could rise from the dead after dying for the sins of the others. Here's the thing,

I don't know if you've ever tried this, but this is worth trying. Summer is coming, you'll

have flies that fall dead on your floor at some point. Take one of those flies, put it

in the palm of your hand or on the table and command it to come back to life. Just so you

realize how absolutely powerless you are to revive anything from the dead. It's one thing

to deal with a human. Start with a fly. Take that fly, put it on the table and then pray

fast, worship, do whatever you want and command that fly in the name of Jesus Christ to come

back to life and you will see how futile it is, how impossible it is for anything to come

back from the dead. Somehow, I don't think we as Christians have been able to grasp the

impossibility of what has happened because one minute before he rose from the dead, he was a

cold body on a cold slab in a tomb. I had to transport my dad's body from one city to the other

in one of those ambulances and it is the most dead thing in the world, a dead person. Their

skin doesn't feel the same. People want to come and kiss the person's face and you kiss the person's

face and I'm thinking to myself, dad, this isn't you. This is so not real. It's not alive. Jesus

was as dead as that. There was nothing special about his death. He was dead like most people die.

He was on a cold slab in a dark cave and he was dead one minute before he rose up.

And he has a strange thing about his death. He lies there dead with the sins of what? Eight billion

into three, twenty-four billion people. Every conceivable sin you can think of because he's

bearing the sins of the entire universe. Not one or two people, not just my sins. Let's assume there

have been twenty-four billion people that have lived on the earth. That's maybe much more than

actually may have lived. But let's assume that for a second. He bears on himself all their sins and

now he's supposed to rise from the dead. He knew it was impossible. So at one point in the Psalms,

David prophesied and later Jesus says it where he says, I know that you will not abandon me to

Sheol. What was he trying to say? That I know what I'm going to do and I know how dead I'll be and I

know you will not abandon me. And then it says in Romans 8 verse 11 that if the spirit of him,

it was the spirit of God that comes and empowers Jesus to rise. It is an impossible thing guys.

One of the things that's happened to us is we just think, oh he's Jesus. The answer to everything is

he is Jesus. When he had spent three days there, he just decided time to wake up. It was impossible.

Just two things made it possible. One, that he did not sin because the wages of sin is death.

Why did Jesus rise from the dead? Very simple. You could not pay him the wages of sin. So it

was impossible for death to hold him. Two, that then allowed the Holy Spirit to power him back

to life with a life called resurrection life. Just think of that for a second. This is impossible guys.

He didn't do it because he was Jesus. He did it because of these two things that I mentioned to you.

One minute he was cold and a dead body on a slab inside a tomb and then the father raised the son

by the spirit. Romans 8-11. You know when you think of the Old Testament, we imagine and marvel

at God's power that brought Israel out of Egypt. We've seen Ben-Hur, we've seen Ten Commandments,

and we kind of imagine the plagues and the Red Sea parting. In the Old Testament, the standard

of God's deliverance was the Red Sea crossing and the Exodus. And we can imagine that. But we

can't imagine the mighty power that was mightier than what happened in the Exodus at work in a dark

tomb. We can't even imagine that. It was greater than the Exodus. It was greater than the Red Sea.

It was greater than all the plagues. You were dealing with one Pharaoh, one tyrant. Here you

were dealing with an entire tyrannical system that now would either exist or would begin to

get dismantled if this man was raised. That's the power at work in that little tomb that day.

The crazy thing is that's the kind of power that dwells in every believer sitting here,

but we'll come there a little later. And so the standard in the New Testament for God's power

is the mighty strength exerted by God that delivered his son Jesus out of death.

You read about it in Ephesians 1, 19 and 20. Go to Ephesians 1, 19 and 20. Ephesians 1, 19 and 20.

Paul says, say listen, ask that your eyes be open. Why? So that you can see the immeasurable

greatness of God's power towards us who believe. And what's he comparing it to? He's comparing it

to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead.

And it's almost this parallel to Exodus. There's this ravenous bondage called Egypt that eats up

Israel. And God used to call Israel my son. And God delivers them from Egypt. And he doesn't just

deliver them from Egypt and says, well, now you're free. Go do what you want. He takes them into the

promised land. And now there's another ravenous bondage that's happening that night on Friday

night, Saturday, where Christ now has to be broken from the bondage and then taken to a throne that

is placed above everything that exists. So you're talking about a dead man who's carrying the sins

of the world, being broken out of that, and then not just broken out of that, raised and given a

name that is above every other name, sitting in the highest throne that exists in the universe.

That is the power at work. And the strange thing is that is the power that is resident in you.

How we, we have to experience it on a daily basis. Otherwise it becomes a resurrection Sunday thing.

See, the odd thing is death wouldn't have done it. A resurrection was necessary. Think of it this way.

Imagine that you are a stillborn. Imagine you're a stillborn. And let's just take me. So I'm a

stillborn baby and I am in a womb. And the name of the womb is death, the wages of sin.

So I'm a stillborn. I have a name. And my mother's womb is called death, the wages of sin.

This is the condition of every human being. You're born in sin. You're born under the penalty of death.

What does Jesus's death do? Jesus's death breaks open the womb.

It doesn't give life to the stillborn.

Jesus's death breaks open the womb called the wages of sin. That's what it does.

Jesus's death breaks open the womb called the wages of sin. But that's only part of the story

because what follows is perhaps a greater miracle. Because the stillborn is raised from the dead

and given life by the same spirit who raised Christ from the dead. What Christ's death does is

his death ends our captivity inside death. If you read Hebrews chapter 2 verse 14 and 15, it says so.

In Hebrews 2, 14 and 15, it says, and Jesus came to abolish death. Jesus came to destroy the one

who uses death as a weapon. And Jesus came to set people free from the fear of death. In those two

verses, Hebrews 2, 14 and 15, three things happened. I came to abolish death, not mitigate death,

not make death a little easier. Abolish death. I came to destroy the one who has used death

as a weapon against humans. And I came to end the fear that people have of death. You know,

one of the reasons resurrection should have us become bolder is now even death does not hold

a threat for us. It doesn't hold a threat. What can you do? Kill me?

We'll talk about that tomorrow. But he sets us free from this womb called death, the wages of sin.

Strange thing is there's a parallel to this that actually happened in Matthew 27.

And here's what happens in Matthew 27, verse 52 onwards. And the temple and the curtain in the

Matthew 27:52

temple tore. And the tombs in Jerusalem broke open. That's it. Nobody comes out of the tombs.

The tombs broke open. There was an earthquake. You should read it. It's fascinating.

Let's start at verse 51. At that moment, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top

to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open. And the bodies of many

holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs. And after Jesus'

resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. So this is the

question you need to keep in mind. Jesus dies.

Saints' tombs open.

Jesus' tomb opens.

Jesus is raised.

Saints are raised.

And there are eyewitnesses.

It's kind of the same thing we're talking about. There was a womb called death

that had us locked in. That womb broke open, just like the tombs broke open.

But the stillborn is still a stillborn. A time will come when after Christ rises from the dead,

those that were in the tombs came out. Till then, they did not come out.

When they came out, you're talking about people that were recognized, that were familiar.

You can imagine on Sunday morning like today, Jerusalem actually witnessed a resurrection.

And the resurrection they witnessed was not that of Christ, but uncles and aunties that were coming

out of graves. And these were recent deaths. They were not long ago. It was the time of barley

harvest and they would have been leaving the city, going out to harvest their barley. And they see

Uncle John and Auntie Helga or whoever coming down the road. And these are people that have died,

that have come out of their tombs. And it says they go back into the holy city. They go into Jerusalem

and they met people. People saw them. The only question is, did they die again like Lazarus,

which is one theory that's offered. But I would suggest to you that they did not die like Lazarus

did. They were around for the next 40 days till Jesus ascended. And when Jesus ascended,

they ascended with him. What's the parallel here?

They had to wait till Christ rose and came out of the tomb. In the same way, the stillborn called

Jacob may have escaped the womb of death, but he had to wait till the power of the Spirit of God

raised him up just like it raised Christ up. Any questions?

They actually saw a resurrection. They actually had their own version of being caught up.

1st Thessalonians 4.17 where it talks about being caught up and meeting the Lord in the air.

It actually physically already has happened once.

And they saw the resurrection. They actually saw the resurrection. They actually saw the resurrection.

You know who must have been really messed up?

Sede the Sadducee. I'm just picking your name Sede because it fits the word Sadducee well.

It's got a nice ring to it. Sede the Sadducee. You're not a Sadducee. You're really good.

You can imagine Sede the Sadducee getting really upset about this. Why? Because the Sadducees,

according to Acts 23, 8, did not believe in resurrection, did not believe in spirits and

angels. And Sede the Sadducee sees his uncle walking down the road. Now what does Sede the

Sadducee do? It's crazy. I think I've told you this. I know some of us have met her. She came to

Acts 29 long ago. Her name is Farah. Farah is a five-foot lady who lives in Indonesia in a little

village there. People don't call her for funerals anymore because she's raised two people from the

dead. And some of the people she raised from the dead, they did not want back a life. It was

really obnoxious uncles and aunts that were raised. And so when people die now, they don't call her.

They just ask another pastor to bury them. But in this case, the Sadducees must have really had a

different take on it because they would have seen people that they knew coming out of the grave.

So if Jesus had not risen from the dead,

then the breaking of the tomb or the breaking of the womb is not enough. It's not enough to come out

of the penalty of death. I need life. The stillborn is still a stillborn till God injects life. And so

that's where the story really begins because the stillborn is now resurrected

with new life.

And it's as different as a butterfly is from a caterpillar. It's a completely different life.

So here's what scriptures say about it. If you look at 1 Peter 1, 23, it says,

your new life is not like your old life. Your new birth,

your new birth comes from God's living Word.

A life conceived by God himself.

This is 1 Peter 1, 23. I think it's the NLT. I'm not sure. But here's the thing, guys.

When we talk about new life, you have to think about what's actually resident in you right now.

If you have given your life to Christ right now, resident in you.

Not tomorrow, not when you go to heaven, not when you speak in tongues, right now. Anybody

who's a believer has this happening to them. 1 Peter 1, 23. Stillborn, the person that was

dead is now resurrected with new life. What is that life like? Your new life is not like your old life.

Then it says, your new birth comes from God's living Word. You know, it says in 1 Corinthians 15,

that when Adam was created, he was a living soul. But when Jesus began to recreate you by entering

into your life, you became a life-giving spirit. One was a living soul. The other one is a life-giving

spirit. Spirit. There's no comparison, guys. But here's the thing. This is the life that's resident

in him right now. And it's not like the life hip used to have before.

Now,

now the scripture.

Romans 8, 11. Romans 8, 11. It says, the spirit of him,

the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead

is living in you and actually has become one with you. Again,

the spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead is who is living in him. Nobody else,

no old hip, no old life. The only person living in him is the spirit of him who raised Jesus

from the dead. There is nobody else in there. It's a completely new life, guys.

And the sooner I get used to thinking like this, the sooner I get to behave like him,

do like him, think like him. It's a shame when I'm born again, but I think that there are

two lives I can live. I only have one. Everything else that I'm living when I'm not living from it

is actually decay and flesh. It is habits. It's all patterns of thinking.

Third scripture.

Ephesians 1, 20. Ephesians 1, 20. This is the same

mighty power. This is the same mighty power

as in the Holy Spirit. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead

and seated him

at God's right hand in the heavens.

Then he goes on to say in Ephesians 2, 6,

he raised us from the dead

along with Christ

and seated us

in the heavens with Christ. Let's go back to him.

Let's go back to him.

The same mighty power that was able to take Jesus off that cold slab is the same mighty power,

exactly the same mighty power that now has raised him. Same mighty power, nothing else.

And the same power that raised Christ and seated him in the heavens is the same power

that has raised hip and seated him in the heavens

with Jesus. This is reality. It's not positional whatever. It is real.

This is the only life I have. This is the only life hip has. This is the only life you have.

There's no other life you have.

One mustn't think that there's another life that you can lean on. It's flesh. It's decay.

When you were born, the word spoke you into existence and you became a living soul. Now,

when you were reborn, the word spoke again and you were formed not from mortal sperm,

but from word and that word makes you a life-giving spirit. You cannot be a life-giving

spirit unless you have the life-giving spirit in you. And that's the only thing I have. I do not

have anything else. Everything that you see in me that does not look like Christ is coming from a

place of decay and flesh. Every time I think differently, it's the same. And God is willing

in Ephesians 4.24. He says, hey, can I renew your thinking so that you can step into the

holiness and the righteousness that is yours because I dwell in you? Any questions?

This is our present reality, guys.

Seated at the right hand of... Yeah. So,

when Lenny's baby is born, Pawan's baby is born, there'll be a moment during that process when

the baby will be in Pawan's arms or the doctor's arm, but it is still connected by its umbilical

to the mother. And it's literally that where at once I'm walking the earth and yet I'm viscerally

completely connected to him in the heavens. It's not one or the other. I'm not only on the earth

or only in heaven. There is that moment in a baby's life, but there is that continuous moment

in my life where on one hand I'm on the earth, on the other hand I'm also in heaven. But it was

said of Christ in John 3.13 that he is the Christ who is on earth but is in heaven while he was

walking the earth. This is our reality. Only... Paul used to call them foolish. Only foolish people

will begin to try to analyze this with their head because you can't get it, and only foolish people

will try to dismiss this as, no it doesn't work here on earth.

And I deliberately am saying that, because Paul says that in 1 Corinthians 15 when someone asked

him how can all this be, he calls them foolish. So I'm being absolutely scriptural and it's meant to hit home.

My hope is that today, tomorrow, we'll start thinking like this.

That there's an active choice to live by the life of another. And who's that another? The another is

the indwelling Christ. That everything else I do you must recognize as, ah that's not Christ,

that's just his flesh and decay. Any other questions?

Okay, so let's kind of try and define resurrection life.

Here's one. It is the life that Christ presently, Christ currently possesses.

Another way of putting it is, guys, you share the private life of Christ.

You share the private life of Christ. It is the life, resurrection life is the life that Christ

presently, currently possesses. You share his private life. You don't share anything else.

If you're a believer, you share his private life. You share his private life.

You don't share anything else. If you're a believer, you share his private life.

The baby in a womb shares the private life of the mother.

I share the private life of the king of the universe, the Christ. I share his private life.

It's super personal for God.

We must wrap our heads around this, because our spirit knows this. But if we don't wrap our heads

around it, and you cannot wrap your head around anything unless you spend time thinking about it.

Think with God and you will think like God. Think with God and you will think like God.

And that requires time. Next one.

We cannot define the entirety of resurrection life, but we can just touch here and there.

It is the life that Christ currently possesses. It's the life of the Holy Spirit.

It's the life of the Holy Spirit. This is the only thing you have, guys.

You know, I'm not one of those pastors who makes you repeat things, but sometimes I wish I could.

It'll be strange if I do it. But I'm not one of those pastors who makes you repeat things,

it'll be strange if I do it. But I want you to say stuff like,

it's the only life I have. The life of Christ, his private life, the Holy Spirit.

That's the only life I have. I do not have any other life. Every time I live another life,

I'm just faking it out of my flesh. And it's decaying, putrid flesh and putrid thinking.

The only life I have is the life of the Spirit. Don't say it was too much.

It's the life of the Holy Spirit. It is eternal life in a mortal body.

It is your present, forever possession. Get used to it, guys.

You know what bothers me? That I will not get a chance to practice this life

in an environment like I presently am once I die.

I hate the fact that all the opportunity to show God obedience, trust, loyalty,

fidelity, faithfulness is taken away once you die. You only get to do it here.

You only get to do it here. And what you get to do here is what you will be count for later.

We only get this earth, our present circumstances, the hostility, the problems.

In the midst of that, we only get this one opportunity. When this is over,

we never get a chance again to show faith, faithfulness, loyalty, allegiance, fidelity,

nothing. Kindness when you're beaten. You ain't going to get beaten up in heaven.

You must take this bull by the horns, man.

This is your current life. These are now just adjectives of sorts. It's unconstrained.

Unconstrained as in it is joyous.

It is an overcoming life. It overcomes everything. Overcoming life. It is unconstrained.

It is unconstrained. It is unconstrained. Sometimes I can have a high tolerance

here when kids jump around and shout and do stuff. It sometimes gets beyond a point, but

it's called unconstrained.

There's a shamelessness to unconstrained life. Ask this question, eh? Is it possible to live

an unconstrained life if I preserve my dignity? It's a question one has to ask. In every area of

life, is it possible to live an unconstrained life that I actually have if I want to preserve

my dignity? So it's an unconstrained life. It's a joyous life. It's a joyous life. It's not a ha ha

but it's joyous. It is joyous when you make mistakes. It is joyous when you thought you

heard God and it wasn't. It is joyous when there's mud on your face. It is joyous when you waited for

six weeks and you've been praying yourself black and blue and nothing is happening. It is joyous

when what you said God isn't doing. It is joyous when Jonah was in a way to burn and in a way ain't

burning. It is joyous and we only get this life to practice it. There's no practicing this after this.

And so the younger you are, the longer you have to practice this, the older you are, and please

don't take this negatively. The fact is at 60, I've got less years to do this than when I was 30.

That's all. So better get to it fast, right?

It was so funny. Last week, last Sunday, I saw Judah and Elion and others turning around like

this while singing. So I thought, hmm, let me try that. So the song was going on and I started doing

this five circles. They were doing 10. I did five and then I thought, oh my God, how am I going to

stay on my feet? After that, I was just faking it and praying, Father, please don't let me fall.

Please don't let me fall because these kids just spin around and around and around and I decided,

okay, two spins and that's it. Not more than that at my age. Yeah. So it is a joyous life and it

overcomes. Overcoming is not something that happens overnight. There's no similarity between

overcome and overnight. Yeah. Overcoming means enduring, faithful enduring.

It's an overcoming life. It has the ability to stay, stay, stay, stay. Why? Because it believes

the promise.

It is a future life. It is a future life that has broken

into time. This life was not supposed to happen till the world ended, but then God decided, nope,

I'm sending Jesus. I'm going to break into history in the fullness of time. At that kairos moment,

in the fullness of time, at that kairos moment, Jesus enters and he breaks into history and he

brings a life to us that's from the future. It's a future life. It's like a spacesuit that has not

been built yet. It's a future life that has been given to you. And what kind of life it is? It is

a life that allows Jesus to king through you and allows Jesus to bring the kingdom through you.

Two things that Jesus does. What does Jesus do? Jesus is king. He's kinging through you. What does

kinging look like? Some days it looks like singing. Some days it looks like dancing.

Some days it's quiet and meditative. Some days it's reflective. Some days it's loud. Some days

it's proclamation. Some days it's casting out demons. Look at the entirety of Jesus's life and

you will know what it is to look at something called kinging. I'm saying to you that every day,

Jesus should have the freedom to king through your life. When Eliakim is being held, when

Brielle is being put to bed, it is still kinging because Jesus does that. He would gather the

children to him. We're not talking ministry here. We're talking about what Jesus would do. WWJD,

remember? We had no idea what he was doing. He's kinging. Sometimes kinging is standing over

Jerusalem and looking at her with tears in your eyes and desolating her. Sometimes it is asking

someone who's up on a tree to come down. Sometimes it's forgiving a woman who has committed adultery.

Sometimes it's railing and calling Pharisees whitewashed tombs. Sometimes it's taking a whip

and chasing animals out and cleansing the temple. Kinging is a thing he wants to do but he can only

do it through a life like this, a future life. And to hold that back from him, I sometimes think

the parable of 10 minutes can be taken a little further and I'll have to give account for the life

that I live. Kinging through me and you know what happens when he kings through me? The kingdom comes.

The kingdom comes when he kings through me. What an opportunity, what an honor, what a privilege.

What if, again, whenever I mention names, please don't think I read their books or send money to

them. What if a Bill Gates or an Elon Musk wanted to do his work through you?

What if it was charitable work?

You have to be a certain kind of person. You have to be someone he can trust. You have to be someone

that can deal with money properly. You have to be someone who can make wise decisions with their money.

The king kings through you when you live by the life of another and not by your own.

This is a life, this resurrection life is a life that is like living water,

living water. You can't hold it. You can't dam it. It must flow. It must flow. It must flow.

And wherever it flows, it gives life.

I was telling the Lord today, Father, I'm going to try so hard not to try hard. I'm going to try so

hard not to try hard. Where I have to let this resurrection life, which word do you want, Rene?

Rene, which word are you looking for? All of it? Okay.

I think it's very legible. Life that is living water, it must flow. Wherever it flows, it gives life.

So, so one of the things I was telling the Lord is, Father, if this is true, if this is true,

then it must flow. I must not put in so much of an effort. It will flow. If I commit to this

life, this life will flow, will flow where it will be like this. It won't even be, Father,

please heal him or whatever. Lay hands on him and let the life of God, let the life of the Spirit,

let resurrection life that lifted Christ up from a cold slab, let the power that came from heaven

and gave life to things, give life to this man just by the laying of hands. That's the confidence

that one has when one begins to walk in this idea of resurrection life. It is the power of

resurrection. It gives life to everything. It'll give life to all creation one day, guys.

You know what limits us? This life is resident in a mortal body that has limitations,

that is decaying, that is dying. And because of that, Satan uses that to anesthetize my mind

to thinking that I really carry something special.

That's how he deceives us. He has you look at the jar of clay with its brokenness, with its flaws.

I'm not talking about sin now. I can't keep practicing in sin and say jar of clay, jar of clay.

No, that's a jar of sin. We're talking about jar of clay as in there are cracks, there are

misshapen parts. Through that, when you look at that, you sometimes think, oh, I'm going to die.

Through that, when you look at that, you sometimes think, oh shucks,

I'm nothing. But the thing is inside me is this tremendous power.

There is nothing more atomic, nothing more nuclear than the power that is resident in me at present

because the name of that power is Christ the Lord. The name of that power is the Holy Spirit. There

is no one else in me. I pray that the Spirit of God will take my crying out to you and pierce you

somewhere inside between spirit and soul, between bone and marrow where you'll begin to ponder this

this week saying, this is who is in me. This is who is in me. I know what is possible.

This is the only life that you have, guys. You do not have another choice.

Dilna does not have another life. Dilna is a flawed jar of clay. Look at him.

In this flawed jar of clay lives the power of Christ himself.

It's the only life he possesses. You know what kind of righteousness that gives a person?

You know what integrity it gives a person? You know what right standing he has with God?

He shares Christ's private life. Now you understand why it says in Romans 8,

who dare bring an accusation against you? If God is for you, take it further, if God is for you and

in you, then who dare bring an accusation against you? Day after day after day it enlivens you.

It quickens your mortal body. When the Bible says it quickens your mortal body, most people postpone

it to the future where one day our bodies will be changed. That is true. That is correct exegesis.

But let me tell you something about Christ that goes beyond exegesis. That the one who is Christ

and who is the spirit, if he dwells in this mortal body, you think this body won't be affected?

Hey, you cook in your house and it smells of onions.

If onions can make your clothes and your house smell, you think Christ who dwells in me

cannot quicken this mortal body?

Yep.

Where is sanctification? Sanctification is the living out of the reality of the resurrection.

Where is sanctification? Sanctification is the living out of the reality of the resurrection

power in me. Now that I know that this life dwells in me and I commit to this life and I choose

actively in every occasion to live by this life. Even as I'm answering you now, I'm choosing saying,

oh God, Dilna has asked a question. Give me the wisdom to answer from the word that which is

truth so that it doesn't just touch Dilna but touches me and the entire room. Every time I

choose to lean back and depend and live out of the resurrection life that is indwelling in me,

I walk in greater sanctification. It becomes a pattern. It just keeps increasing. To be

set apart, sanctified, to be set apart. Set apart for what? Set apart for a complete giving of myself

to the life of another. So that by the time I leave the earth, my jokes will still be the

way they are. Because jokes don't get sanctified. But everything else, everything else will change.

This resurrection life of Christ is carried by me in a physical body

that at present experiences the limitations of decay and death. And the enemy uses that to anesthetize

me to the immeasurable capacity of resurrection life within this mortal body. It just makes me

feel like I'm not much. Hey guys, we've got to stop measuring the resurrection life inside us

by the car I have, the job I have, the money I have. We've got to stop measuring it by that.

That ordinary life can take care of because the world does not have resurrection life but they

have enough of that. You just need sweat for that. I'm not talking about that. We must stop

measuring resurrection life by the goods I have or the goods I want or the job I want

or the little things that don't happen. I can't measure it by that.

It's not right.

It's like taking something super precious

and trading it for... It's like Esau selling his birthright.

Giving away your birthright for porridge. That's what it will look like.

Aim at what resurrection life can do for others

and you will find that all other things will be added to you in due time.

When I say the private life, he shares his private life with us, it's like there's nothing

more private than my life, my thoughts, my ways of functioning, how I am.

Hi, if I am willing to let you James into that and share with you all that I am.

You know in John 11 25, there's a scene that happens between Martha and Jesus and

Martha says... Jesus says, your brother will rise again. Martha says, I know he will rise again.

I know he will rise again on the day of resurrection at the end of time and then Jesus says, no,

I am the resurrection and the life.

And so even when we talk about resurrection life, Jesus Christ is resurrection life.

It is the only life you have. Jesus Christ is resurrection life.

It is the only life you have. Surrender to it and you will look like Jesus.

How do you surrender to it? Bit by bit.

Why do I say bit by bit? Because you'll surrender to it, you'll pull out. You'll surrender to it,

you'll pull out. It's like going into a swimming pool with cold water. Eventually you can get in there.

Because it's an alien concept to live by the life of another.

And then he says, I am... Jesus Christ is resurrection life. And so to...

Jesus Christ is resurrection life. And so to... You must understand, to be united with him

is to participate in resurrection. To be united with him. This is important guys because this is

where mission should come from. You know, resurrection was a historic event, but it is

that historic event that seats Christ as Lord and gives him the ability to say,

all authority and power has been given to me. Therefore, go.

One of the things that happened when Christ was resurrected was the Son of God, who was the Messiah,

who came to die for the world, died and he was resurrected. But that wasn't all of it.

He was resurrected and he was given a place that is above every other place, every other name.

Philippians 2, 9. That Jesus Christ is now Lord. If he is Lord, he has all authority and power.

If he has all authority and power, he can now therefore say, go. Go to that Buddhist, go to that

Muslim, go to that Hindu, go to that atheist, go to that nominal Christian. Go to these people. Why?

Because they belong to me. I am Lord. They belong to me. Go to them. Talk to them. They belong to me.

They don't know it. Tell them.

Three things happened to you when he rose again. One, your spirit was resurrected.

Your old spirit died. You got a brand new spirit. Your spirit was resurrected.

That's the first thing that happened. The second thing that happened

was resurrection. You've been forever justified. There's no penalty of sin against you.

There's no death against you. You're forever justified.

So when you sin, go take a bath and get back quickly for you have been forever justified.

No penalty.

That's the second thing that happened.

And the third point of contact with regard to resurrection is,

this might blow your mind, but this is something that John talks about in 1 John. He says in 1 John

4, 17, he says, one of the offshoots of resurrection is, as Christ is, so you shall be in this world.

As Christ is, so are you.

Later on in 1 John 3, 8, he says, when Christ comes, we shall see him as he is.

But while we wait for that, as Christ is, so are you.

Come on, guys, one small hallelujah.

As Christ is, so am I. Try saying it. As Christ is, so am I.

How? Why? Simply because of the resurrection life in you.

What is the resurrection life? It is the Holy Spirit. It is Christ.

It's the power that raised him from the dead. It is unconstrained. It is joyous.

It is his private life that he shares with you completely. As Christ is, so am I.

John expected us to walk like this. Later on in the same chapter, he says, a Christian will not continue sinning.

And a chapter before that, he says, when Christ comes, you shall see him as he is.

And then you'll realize, oh shucks, any flaw that was left in this broken jar is now gone.

And I have been brought into a place where I am like the one I see.

I'm saying that because God dwells in me, God has an expectation that I will be like Christ.

Crazy, eh? This is not my expectation. If I could, I would avoid it.

Because it's too big. I mean, just being like Tooney is difficult enough for me.

To be like Christ is a stretch. I would rather not. But it is God's expectation. Because I dwell

in you. You must be like me or be like my son. As Christ is, so is Crystal.

Paul then perhaps didn't have this worth in mind, but he takes it, he puts it this way in 2nd

Corinthians. He says, no longer do we judge people after the flesh, but we judge people after the

spirit. So there she sits, Crystal, as Christ is, so she is. If I had that attitude towards her,

she'd be blessed and I'd be blessed.

This is an expectation that God has and he thinks it's a reasonable expectation.

He thinks it's a reasonable expectation. That is nuts.

Resurrection is recreation. We'll pick this up tomorrow. Resurrection, resurrection is recreation.

It is making things new. That's our mission.

It is CSAR. Anyone knows what CSAR is? After the news yesterday? It's Combat Search and Rescue.

Acts 26 verse 18 and 19. Rise up and stand on your feet, for I'm sending you to the Gentiles,

Acts 26:18

to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan

to the power of God, and that they might find a place with the Father.

It's in hostile conditions, eh? When they went to rescue the airman who was lost somewhere in Iran,

was lost somewhere in Iran, they sent out hundreds of equipment and troops and all this

stuff to find one man.

And it's a unit that trains for years on end for this one occasion to save one man.

And it's called Combat Search and Rescue.

And they train.

And they know that everything they do will be done in hostile terrain.

Resurrection is recreation.

It's making things new.

And that's our mission.

We now have this resurrection life in us that hates not flowing.

It hates not flowing.

Christ stationary?

No.

Christ unlimited?

Yeah.

He hates staying in a service, being worshiped, and that's it.

Worship must lead to something else.

When Abraham worshiped on the mountain, he then had to go out to the nations because

the Son of Promise was given back to him and now the earth would be populated.

Isaiah 6, after worship what happens?

Who shall I send?

Who will go for us?

Acts chapter 13, they were praying and worshipping and what did the Holy Spirit say?

Set apart for me Paul and Barnabas.

Tomorrow night when we gather here for worship, expect that worship must result in something

that then causes the flow of the resurrection life in me to begin to go out.

And that's how God makes things new.

That's how God makes things new.

That is our mission.

And it is always in hostile terrain.

It's always in hostile terrain.

It is opposed by forces of depravity.

It's opposed by forces of death, of disease, the demonic, of damage, of decay.

These are the forces that will oppose it.

But it is in hostile terrain that this life really begins to flow.

If you read Ezekiel 47 and the flow of the river, look where it goes man.

Initially it's very dirty.

There's little trees coming up here and then nice little, I mean you almost feel like doing

that butterfly thingy.

And then it begins to flow into marshlands, into rivers where dead fishes come to life,

come to life, come to life.

We must determine by tomorrow that this life will not stay.

Creating gardens for us.

We got enough fruit man.

You look like you're struggling with spelling my friend.

What would you like me to do?

What could be the meaning of the first part of the phrase?

That's demonic.

Demonic?

Read 1 Corinthians 15, verse 21, verse 45, you'll see that resurrection takes us out

You're disconnected from your lineage.

You reconnected to someone else's lineage.

Man, lose your last name.

Let that be your middle name.

Disconnects you from your lineage.

Resurrection takes us out of Adam.

Out of death that follows Adam's sons.

Out of the living soul life.

My God do we live out of our souls.

And it just pulls you out of it.

Death is violent.

Crucifixion was violent.

The intent of the violence was can I completely uproot you out of the Adamic line.

And resurrection is powerful but it is beautiful and gentle.

And it brings you back and puts you into Christ.

Now you live and breathe differently.

These are real things that happen.

You suddenly realize it was not just a historic event.

I don't own the Adamic line and everything that a lineage may bring that is corrupt.

I don't own it a red cent.

I don't own it anything.

Mortality and here's the beautiful thing.

Present mortality and corruption will give way to immortality and incorruption.

It's already started.

My spirit is no longer mortal.

It is immortal.

I have a brand new spirit saturated with immortality.

I have a brand new spirit.

I have a brand new spirit.

I have a brand new spirit saturated with Christ himself.

Christ lives forever.

He said that in Revelation 1.

I live forever.

My spirit has already experienced one part of resurrection.

I now participate in resurrection.

I participate in resurrection and I can help others participate in it.

Every time Christ wants to do something new.

Even now I'm participating in resurrection because what if one of these sentences is

true enough to change your life, renew it, rebirth you, completely change your way of

thinking and take you into a plane that you would not be able to go except for the truth

of the word.

What do you think is happening?

So mortality and corruption will give way to immortality and incorruption.

And one day when this body, one day this perishable body will be swallowed up too.

It says in 1 Corinthians 15, 54, hey Jacob a day is coming when even this body that is

perishing will be swallowed up by life.

Beautiful eh?

Death wears your sting and now the sentence is not death swallowed him up.

Your perishable body is swallowed up by life.

That's just nuts man.

And then when that is done there's only one thing left, Romans 8, 21.

Creation.

Beautiful eh?

Mira, Pawan, Tuni, Emily, Emily K, Heidi set free from mortality and incorruption and corruption

into immortality and incorruption and then when these names I've mentioned have arrived

there then creation will be set free from bondage.

The trees, the mountains, the rivers, the oceans, the creatures, the universe, the stars,

the skies, everything.

It'll be, you can literally imagine a movie screen just you know when things burst onto

the screen and it just changes, it'll change.

You think the present earth is beautiful?

What awaits us is just crazy.

Romans 8, 21 puts it so beautifully.

It says creation will be set free from corruption into the freedom of the glory that we possess.

Freedom of the glory that we possess.

And please understand you possess some of it already.

Don't wait till you die because some of you are young and it might take a while.

We already possess it.

When that is complete, everything is restored.

You know even as he was ministering that word resurrection, it's a powerful word.

And you know sometimes it makes me think of what Jesus has actually accomplished.

Now you recognize something about Jesus.

He's the only human being that resurrected from the grave with the body that he went in with.

Everybody else's body will suffer corruption.

But not only that, the power of resurrection is something else.

Think about it, it says unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides.

But something about this grain of wheat, when you look at the grain of wheat it looks like nothing.

But locked in that grain of wheat is a forest.

But in order for the forest to come forth it first has to die.

So here's what, when we die we are going to be re-elected.

And if we do so we'll be re-elected.

But we'll come forth.

You see that's the trick that Jesus played on the devil.

The devil taught by killing Jesus everything will be over.

He had no idea that by killing the Son of Glory he is releasing him to be more powerful.

He had no idea that by killing the Son of Glory he is releasing him to be more powerful.

He is releasing him to be more powerful than he has ever been.

Jesus was just one man walking the face of the earth.

But through his death now he has billions walking the face of the earth.

And like he was saying, every single one of us that is born again has that resurrected Christ on the inside of us.

You know the apostle Paul in the book of Philippians said that,

Oh that I might know him, not know about him,

know him in the power of his resurrection.

And once we touch that, that's a totally different story.

So may the power of resurrection lay a hold of you and take you into another dimension.

I'm telling you something, I just get so bloody excited talking about Jesus.

He is an incredible God.

There is none like him.

None, none, none.

No one can hold him.

He's incredible.

And to think that he would die for me.

If I was the only person on the planet he would have died for me.

I owe him everything, everything.

And like he said, I live out of that life.

I don't have any other kind of life.

Everything I live for is the kingdom.

Everything I live for is for him.

Amen?

You know, I just want to go back to what he said that he would die for me.

This Christ, this one who fills the universe, he would die for me.

Just like the Sistine Chapel,

we've created you in our image.

I want to let go of it and return to seeing the one who fills the entire universe.

The one who said, I am the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end.

There's no one before me.

The one who is the only one in the entire universe called the Living One.

One who is creator, El Elion, the mighty possessor of the universe.

Think about this for a while.

This little grain of corn, this seed that looks like nothing,

put that into the ground.

It goes through a process of death.

And when it resists, it will be dead.

And when it resists, it will be dead.

And when it resists, it will be dead.

It goes through a process of death.

And when it resurrects, you realize this little seed that looks like nothing

has the power to push up the dirt that buried it.

It literally rises with that kind of resurrected power.

Listen, the sun, not the S-U-N, the S-O-N, is calling him.

And he pushes up on his own volition out of the earth to go towards the sun.

May that resurrected power burst forth in your life.

Sometimes when the enemy thinks he has buried you,

that's the worst thing that he could have ever done.

Because locked inside of you is a power that is more powerful than anything you could imagine.

That seed, that seed, once it dies, something happens.

And that seed becomes a power unto itself.

Each one of us is walking with that power locked on the inside of us.

So hear me well.

Thank God for every death that you go through.

Thank God for every situation that kills the flesh on the inside of you.

Because as the flesh dies, something resurrects.

And it's more powerful than you can ever imagine.

We are power carriers. Amen?
