  1. Welcome to common ground one book.

  2. We are so glad you've joined us for today's message.

  3. Whether you're tuning in from home or catching up on another

  4. goal, we pray that this word encourages you, strengthens your

  5. faith and draws you closer to God If you'd like to learn more

  6. about our church, connect with us or get involved.

  7. You will find all the details in the description.

  8. Now let's dive into today's message.

  9. So if you have your. Bible 10.

  10. With me to 1st Corinthians 15. 1st Corinthians 15 now I would

  11. remind you. Brothers of the Gospel, I

  12. preached to you, which you. Received in which you stand and

  13. by which. You are being saved if you hold

  14. fast to the Word. I preach to you.

  15. Unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of

  16. first. Importance what I also.

  17. Received that Christ died for our.

  18. Sins in accordance. With the scriptures that he was.

  19. Buried and he was raised on the third day in accordance.

  20. With the Scriptures, our gracious.

  21. Lord in heaven, give. Power to your word.

  22. This morning for our. Good.

  23. And for our sanctification. I pray that, O God, that I would

  24. decrease. This morning and that.

  25. Lord you. With increase.

  26. We ask Lordy that you would please.

  27. Instruct our hearts this morning.

  28. Through the. Preaching and the Proclamation.

  29. Of the Gospel, Amen. I know that in the past.

  30. Weeks you've looked at the solars of the.

  31. Reformation and the Solars of the Reformation.

  32. Really a summary? Of the biblical gospels where?

  33. The Protestants were really protesting against unbiblical.

  34. Practices of the Catholic Church.

  35. Some of them, of course, including indulgences.

  36. In fact, there was a famous man during the 15th century by the

  37. name of. Ted Zell.

  38. He used to say when he was asking for money from the.

  39. People who were. In front of him during those.

  40. Days, he would say. Give your money because when the

  41. coin in the coffer rings is sold from purgatory springs, in other

  42. words. If you were to.

  43. Give your money, your family member or your relative that is

  44. in the purgatory state would then be set.

  45. Free. You're also reminded that.

  46. We ought. To then return to the sound

  47. doctrine with the Protestants stood for and fought for, in

  48. fact, Martin Luther. Himself said that I taught you

  49. the gospel, I preach the gospel. I also drank.

  50. Beer with my friend. The wonderful part of that quote

  51. is. Not the beer part.

  52. But is the last part of the quote for he says I did.

  53. Nothing and the word. Did everything, Luther.

  54. Reminds the audience that it is not Luther nor Calvin that

  55. reformed the church. It is the word of the Lord that

  56. did all the work they were. Simply jars of clay in the

  57. hands. Of the.

  58. Porter They were simply instrument that God used to

  59. reform his. Church, you were also.

  60. Reminded of what it means to preach.

  61. The gospel to proclaim the gospel, but also to.

  62. Witness in our culture and for you to use different strategies.

  63. That I'm sure was shared. By many of the preachers and

  64. Dave last week on how to effectively.

  65. Share the gospel in our world, because that which was.

  66. Entrusted to the Apostles has now been entrusted.

  67. To us to go. And make disciples of all

  68. nations. And so you may ask the question

  69. this morning, why is that important?

  70. All of that it's. Important because of.

  71. The Gospel. The Gospel.

  72. Grounds all of this for. Without the gospel.

  73. There is no reason for the Great Commission without the.

  74. Gospel. The work in the 14th and 15th

  75. century of the Reformation simply means nothing.

  76. But because of the gospel all. Of that is significant and so

  77. this morning I want to. Look at the subject, the Gospel

  78. that saves. And we will look at that under

  79. few headings. As an introduction I want to

  80. look at creation and fall. What the means?

  81. Of God uses to. Save sinners, Christ died, and

  82. then. Christ died for what?

  83. Reason. For us to truly.

  84. And firstly understand the. Gospel what it is.

  85. We must go back to understand creation.

  86. The Bible begins by saying God created the heavens and the

  87. earth. In other words, the Bible begins

  88. by announcing that. God is the Creator.

  89. We see in Genesis 1 he creates the mountains, He creates the

  90. fish, the birds, the valleys, everything he creates.

  91. Secondly, we see that. God creates the universe, the

  92. stars. The moon, the planets and the

  93. galaxies. The Bible says he.

  94. Spoke and everything was we must notice that God.

  95. Creates without. Any pre-existing material, he

  96. simply says. Let there be light.

  97. And there's. Light.

  98. Psalm 19, verse one. Says the heavens declared the

  99. glory of God the sky. Above proclaims his handiwork.

  100. When Job is complaining, God says to him in.

  101. Response. Were you there?

  102. When I. Laid the earth.

  103. Foundation Creation serves as a reminder that.

  104. God is the Creator. Why should we believe that God

  105. is the creator? It's because the Bible tells us

  106. so. The Bible is.

  107. The infallible, The inspired. Word of God.

  108. Written by human authors and yet inspired by the divine author.

  109. We believe because the Bible tells us, though, that God.

  110. Creates. But the climax of creation is

  111. not simply the mountains. It is not simply the valleys.

  112. It is not simply anything else that God.

  113. Makes but the. Climax of creation is when God

  114. creates human beings for the Bible.

  115. Says so. God created.

  116. Man in his own image, in the image of God.

  117. He created him male and female, and so as a reminder that man is

  118. not simply by random chance, man is.

  119. Created. By God, and therefore man is

  120. accountable to the Creator, Every single human being in

  121. this. World today is a result of

  122. God's. Idea and God's plan from the

  123. very beginning. Then why does God even create?

  124. Isaiah 43. Verse 7 tells us for everyone

  125. who is called by my name, whom I create for my glory, of whom I

  126. formed and made. Created and so.

  127. Isaiah reminds that the reason for creation is.

  128. God's glory, that. Humanity is created to magnify

  129. and to display the. Glory.

  130. Of God and to live in a way that makes God looks glorious and.

  131. God look beautiful. In other words, humanity has no

  132. meaning, no. Purpose outside of God, because

  133. God. Created humanity for his own.

  134. Glory. #2HE not only creates humanity for his own glory, he

  135. creates humanity in to work that man had ought to.

  136. Display the glory of God by. Working in Genesis. 2:15 He.

    Genesis 2:15

  137. Says Adam was to work and take care of the garden.

  138. Work is not the result of the fall.

  139. Because men worked pre. The Fall.

  140. The way in which Adam was to work.

  141. To take care of the. Garden and the zoo.

  142. Was a way of. Also glorifying God #2.

  143. The. Fall of man, God.

  144. Creates. And makes Adam and Eve.

  145. Now Adam and Eve, God puts them in the garden and he gives them

  146. few instructions in this garden that you may eat from any tree

  147. in this garden, but please do not eat from the tree of the

  148. knowledge of good. If you eat from this tree, you

  149. will die. Notice.

  150. There is a tree that gives life. And there is a.

  151. Tree that. Strengthens death, that if you

  152. ought to eat from this tree. You will die because this tree.

  153. Represents God's blessing, but if you eat from this tree.

  154. It you will be. Cursed and God establishes his

  155. covenant with Adam to remind him not to eat from this tree.

  156. This is a good point where I think I want to pause the reason

  157. they should not are not supposed to eat from this.

  158. Tree is because God. Tells them not to eat.

  159. Why? Because if.

  160. God. Is the one who?

  161. Decides what is. Right.

  162. And what is wrong? God.

  163. Is the one who desired what is wicked and what is.

  164. Righteous. Why?

  165. Because He is the Creator. He has the right to do so.

  166. Then what happened? We read part of Genesis 2 that

  167. when God created them, they were both naked and they were not

  168. ashamed and they felt no shame. And we read that a serpent came

  169. into the picture in Genesis chapter 3.

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  170. Now we must notice. Here as we read.

  171. About the serpent. That God had told.

  172. Adam and Eve that if you eat, you will die.

  173. And the serpent says to them. Because Eve clearly listens to

  174. the. Serpent and the serpent says you

  175. will not. Die.

  176. Eat. And you will not die because.

  177. God is strict and. Overbearing.

  178. Don't listen to God. Simply eat and she eats and she

  179. gives. To her.

  180. Husband and the Bible. Says the fruit was delightful.

  181. And they ate, and their eyes were opened for the first time.

  182. They. Realized that they were.

  183. Naked, And they were ashamed, and sin entered.

  184. The world. The eating of the fruit in the

  185. book of Genesis chapter 3 was an assault against God's law, an

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  186. act of defiance, and an act of rebellion against a holy.

  187. God. Eve and even Adam, we're

  188. rejecting God's law and declaring their independence.

  189. Because. God had told them, do not eat

  190. from this tree. The Apostle Paul takes it

  191. further. To say because of this now.

  192. All have. Sinned and fallen short.

  193. Of the glory of God. And then he continues to say in

  194. Romans. Three because of that.

  195. None of us is. Righteous this is.

  196. The bad news that because of sin.

  197. We are totally deprived. In need.

  198. Of a Saviour that. Sin has become the very fabric

  199. of humanity. The Apostle Paul says for we

  200. are. Dead in our sins and our

  201. transgressions, and so because of.

  202. That we have a. Problem.

  203. Therefore, what is the? Problem.

  204. Humanity's problem is simple. It is sin because of man's

  205. disobedience. Romans 5 reminds us that

  206. therefore, just as sin entered the world, through what man

  207. death, through sin, and in all this way came.

  208. To all people, because. All have sinned when when Eve

  209. and Adam was eating. Guess who else was?

  210. There, in the Garden of Eden, Ericim Chamkulu was.

  211. There Stefan was. There, Greg was there.

  212. Colin was there, every single one of us.

  213. We're partaking in the Garden of Eden.

  214. Because the author is clear that all have.

  215. Sin. Why?

  216. Because Adam Ripped is our. Federal head.

  217. The head. Of humanity, and through his sin

  218. we are all sinners. That his sin has been imputed to

  219. humanity. Therefore we have a.

  220. Problem of sin. Doctor Arista's process The

  221. gospel is good. News when we understand the bad

  222. news. So there is no way of

  223. understanding First Corinthians 15 without understanding the

  224. bad. News.

  225. What I've described from Genesis chapter 3 is bad news, but Paul

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  226. this morning wants to give us some good news.

  227. The centrality of. The gospel is.

  228. Grounded in the Old Testament and provides the information we

  229. need for us to understand the good news.

  230. And the apostle Paul. Says Now here there is something

  231. that I want you all to know, and in fact this is of first

  232. importance. I want you to know the church

  233. that when Paul writes to the. Colonist church he has.

  234. Written on a number of things. He wrote about immorality, about

  235. singleness, about. The Lord's Supper about the food

  236. laws. There's many other things.

  237. He wrote about. In none of those things he.

  238. Ever said is of. First importance?

  239. None. That's not to say they are not

  240. important, but he didn't say they are.

  241. They are of first importance, but in First Corinthians 15 he.

  242. Tells us that. There is something that is of.

  243. First importance. That is more important than

  244. anything. Else that you should.

  245. Know I was watching the other day.

  246. A short clip of a wife. Asking her husband.

  247. She asked her husband a very tricky question.

  248. She said if, if, if. I was drowning.

  249. So that's what they said. If I was drowning and our

  250. daughter was drowning and your mother was drowning, who?

  251. Would you say first? And the husband thought for a

  252. moment. What do I say is?

  253. Quite a difficult. Question and the husband

  254. confidently answers the wife and says I would save my.

  255. Daughter, the wife was so upset. Why would you save your

  256. daughter? He says.

  257. But in what way do you answer such a question?

  258. She said, well, you should have said you'll try to save.

  259. Me and the daughter, not the daughter alone.

  260. And I wonder she didn't even mention the mother-in-law.

  261. I thought maybe she doesn't like the mother-in-law.

  262. Just her and the daughter. And the question she was really

  263. asking to the husband is this who is more important?

  264. Is it me? Your daughter or your?

  265. Mother, your husbands don't answer that question.

  266. Never answer. Either way.

  267. You're not going to win. And so the apostle Paul says.

  268. That there is something here of first importance that everyone

  269. ought to know, and then he's going to tell us what it.

  270. Is. Notice this one.

  271. Now I want to remind you brothers of the.

  272. Gospel I preach to you. Which you receive in which you

  273. stand the term brothers doesn't meet male in this country it's a

  274. term of endearment for Christian brothers and sisters, females

  275. and males who. Love Jesus Christ.

  276. And so he wants to remind them of this.

  277. Gospel. What is the gospel?

  278. The good news? That's the gospel.

  279. So let me offer. A.

  280. A. Definition of the Gospel.

  281. As well. Not the best, there are many

  282. other good definitions out there, but this is how I think

  283. about the gospel that the. Gospel is the good.

  284. News of. Christ.

  285. Jesus Christ. In his.

  286. Life, death, Burial, resurrection.

  287. God doing for us what we're incapable of doing.

  288. That Jesus lived a. Perfect life and willing.

  289. Obedience to the Father. Died and taking on the fullness

  290. of God's. Wrath was buried.

  291. And was. Raised for our justification.

  292. Maybe you have your own definition in mind.

  293. In essence, we are saying, I'm saying.

  294. The gospel is about Jesus, that Jesus.

  295. Is the main. Character of the gospel that

  296. without Christ. We have no gospel.

  297. That the gospel is not good works.

  298. The gospel is not ethics, the. Gospel is not noble.

  299. Deeds the Those are fruits of the gospel, those.

  300. Are implications of the Gospel, but they are not.

  301. The Gospel. The gospel is that Christ.

  302. Came to save sinners it's not what we.

  303. Do. But rather, what has been done?

  304. For us that the gospel of Jesus Christ is God.

  305. Sending his son into. This world to be born of a.

  306. Virgin to live a perfect life in active and in passive obedience

  307. to die in our. Place for our sin.

  308. And to be buried and to be. Raised for our justification.

  309. That one day He will come to judge the living and the dead

  310. and 'cause people today to come and repent and believe in Him

  311. and enjoy eternity with Him. That's the gospel.

  312. That's the character of the gospel, that it is Christ, not

  313. just about Christ that it is. Christ, John Calvin says.

  314. That the whole gospel. Is contained in Christ Jesus.

  315. The gospel is Christ. It is his life.

  316. And it is what he has done for us and the apostle.

  317. Paul says this is of first. Importance Know the person and

  318. the. Work of Christ.

  319. Before you know anything else, because this is the foundation

  320. that grounds every single doctrine of Scripture to.

  321. Get the gospel wrong is to get Christ.

  322. Wrong to get Christ wrong. Is to get the.

  323. Doctrine wrong. We must get Christ right.

  324. Notice what it says next that this.

  325. Is the gospel that I preach to you?

  326. And we know what. Paul preached.

  327. From Second Corinthians verse. Chapter 4, Verse 5.

  328. For what I preach is not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as

  329. Lord. And and.

  330. Ourselves as your servants for Jesus Christ, so.

  331. Paul says to the Corinth church, the.

  332. Gospel I preach to you so we. Do know what?

  333. He preach, he tells. Us that the only thing I preach

  334. was. Jesus Christ to you.

  335. And I am only a servant. God has ordained preaching as

  336. means. To save.

  337. That's what God has. Ordained.

  338. Because this is the good news, we must announce it.

  339. We must herald the good news. Because the good news is about

  340. Jesus. Also, it is Jesus.

  341. And often Christians will say, no, my, you know, I want my life

  342. to, to, to really be a, my message.

  343. To the world. Bearing witness.

  344. To the Gospel. Is not the gospel.

  345. We ought to bear witness to the gospel by the way we live.

  346. But the gospel. Must be announced.

  347. We must say something. It is news you.

  348. Don't keep news you. Share the news And so the

  349. Apostle. Says announce it.

  350. He says I preach it to you, share the gospel, this world.

  351. Does not need my political views and opinions.

  352. The church does not. Simply need my motivational

  353. talk, my personal wisdom. Behind the pulpit.

  354. Behind the pulpit. The only thing you must hear.

  355. Is Christ that the Church? Needs more of.

  356. Christ who? Is the very revelation of God

  357. who reigns forever. We don't need Christ.

  358. Less messages we need more of. Christ, Christ, Christ all.

  359. The time, that's what. Paul, preach.

  360. That's what he's saying We. Ought to preach Christ.

  361. Our very. Message of the Gospel.

  362. He says we don't command ourselves, but we command.

  363. Christ as our Saviour, he says. This is what I preach to you,

  364. Charles. Spurgeon says the following when

  365. we preach. Christ crucified.

  366. We have no reason to stutter to. Hesitate or to apologize.

  367. How many messages behind the pulpit begin with an apology?

  368. I'm. Sorry, but what I'm.

  369. Going to. Say it's quite difficult before

  370. the preacher speaks is already. Apologized, apologizing for what

  371. is clearly communicated in the word.

  372. Of God. Church, we don't apologize for

  373. the truth. We stand on the truth, just like

  374. the. Early Church Fathers.

  375. Just like the reformers. Just like the.

  376. Puritans, we stand on the. Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  377. Why is this important? The reason we only preach.

  378. Christ is because. He is the only.

  379. Way to? Salvation there is no.

  380. Salvation without the Gospel. It is through the Gospel that we

  381. are. Saved.

  382. There are many religions in this.

  383. World. But there's only one gospel, and

  384. that is why. The Apostle Paul to the

  385. Galatians. Verse Chapter One verse. 8 it

  386. says but. Even if we or an Angel from

  387. heaven should preach another gospel other than the one we

  388. preach to you, let them be under.

  389. God's curse. And the Greek word there is

  390. anathema that if another man comes and preaches a different.

  391. Gospel. It says that.

  392. Man is under. God's curse.

  393. Reminding the Church of. Galatia that this is about

  394. justification. By faith alone.

  395. It is not rules. And regulations.

  396. It is not the law, rather. It is about the gospel, he says.

  397. Rest. On that, and if you preach

  398. anything different, he says, then you are under God's.

  399. Curse. He's bringing them back to

  400. justification by faith alone. Why is this important?

  401. The gospel message does not start by telling.

  402. People how to leave. The Gospel message begins by

  403. announcing. What Christ has.

  404. Done to save us. There's a distinction.

  405. It does not begin again by telling people.

  406. How to live the Gospel. Begins by announcing what Christ

  407. has done. To save us.

  408. And that is where. All of us.

  409. Must begin notice that this is the.

  410. Gospel that I preached to you. And then he says this that on

  411. which? You.

  412. Have taken a stand. I love that.

  413. And I often used to. Pass that part of this verse.

  414. And I just reading it over again, I just realized something

  415. here that on which you stand because he's he's reminding the

  416. Corinthians that now you've come to the.

  417. Truth of Christ. You know the person of Christ.

  418. You know the work of. Christ, but.

  419. Then make. Sure that your whole life is.

  420. Built on the foundation of that truth, our.

  421. Lives ought to be. Built on the Gospel of Christ

  422. Church. Let me remind you this morning,

  423. we never move beyond. The Gospel we.

  424. Never outgrow the gospel. We never become too

  425. sophisticated. For the gospel.

  426. We never graduate from. The Gospel.

  427. There is no next best thing, the gospel.

  428. Is the best thing, therefore Paul says.

  429. Stand on it. Because the gospel is.

  430. Central. To the, to the.

  431. Christian life. Not only that, the gospel.

  432. Itself is the way of life. Therefore he says stand so that.

  433. You are not like those believers in the book of.

  434. Hebrews. Who did not stand?

  435. Who Drifted says. But you stand.

  436. Notice then, he says, and by which you are being saved.

  437. If you hold fast to the Word, I preach to you.

  438. Unless you believed in vain the first.

  439. Part of that. Verse is striking for he says by

  440. which you are being saved and the question.

  441. I ask myself is. Being saved from what?

  442. The Bible is clear what we are saved from.

  443. If we think of Genesis. Chapter 3.

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  444. And if we think of the book of Romans church this morning, I

  445. want to remind you that we are saved from the dangers.

  446. Of hell we are. Saved from sin, we are saved

  447. from. Death.

  448. We are saved. From the wrath of God and

  449. eternal separation from the love of God.

  450. Romans 5 verse 9 says, Since therefore we have now been.

    Romans 5:9

  451. Justified by his blood. How much more?

  452. Shall we be saved? From the Wrath.

  453. Of God. Romans 6, verse 23.

    Romans 6:23

  454. For the. Wages of sin is.

  455. Death, but the gift of God is. Eternal life.

  456. In Christ Jesus our Lord. What are you saved from?

  457. I repeat. You are saved from hell.

  458. You are saved from sin. You are saved from.

  459. Death, you are saved. From the wrath of God and

  460. eternal separation from God. And then he says in verse.

  461. Three Christ died if I delivered to you as of.

  462. First importance. What I also received that Christ

  463. died for our. Sins in accordance.

  464. With the scriptures. This is.

  465. Significant that Christ died. And there's evidence in the

  466. biblical text that indeed Christ.

  467. Died. Christ went through a.

  468. Brutal beating he was. Flogged by the mob.

  469. He was bleeding profusely. He was hungry, he was

  470. dehydrated. In fact, they called one of the

  471. professional executioners who was there.

  472. Took a spear. And it went through.

  473. His side. Punctured his heart, and the

  474. Bible tells us that water and blood was coming out from

  475. Christ's side, guaranteeing that indeed, Christ died.

  476. Christ's deed died. And then he says.

  477. He died according to the Scriptures.

  478. That's significant because Isaiah had already prophesied

  479. this, Isaiah 53 verse 5 says. But he was pierced.

    Isaiah 53:5

  480. For our transgressions. He was.

  481. Crossed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us

  482. peace was on him and by his wounds.

  483. We are healed. Isaiah prophecies the. 7700

  484. years before Christ comes, that indeed Christ would die Matthew

    Matthew 27:50

  485. 27 verse 50 says and when? Jesus cried out with a loud

  486. voice. He yielded up his.

  487. Spirit as a signal that he died. John 19 verse 30 says when Jesus

    John 19:30

  488. had. Received the sour.

  489. Wine, he said. It is finished.

  490. He. Bowed his head.

  491. And gave up his spirit, in other words.

  492. Jesus did die. But for what reason?

  493. Why did he die? Paul tells us.

  494. Because of your. Sins.

  495. Christ died for our. Sins.

  496. That's the reason he died lots of.

  497. People die. We may.

  498. Even say lots of innocent people die and some people die

  499. unpleasant death, but Jesus death is different he.

  500. Dies for our sin. This is the Incarnate Son of

  501. God, the second person of the Trinity, who would come and die.

  502. Our sin is weighty. Our sin.

  503. Is costly. God is just God.

  504. Is holy and. Because of those attributes.

  505. God must punish sin. For the Bible says the.

  506. Wages of sin. Is death.

  507. And God would send his own Son to take upon himself that

  508. punishment, that fullness. Of Wrath by.

  509. Becoming our substitution in order to atone for our sin.

  510. Because our sin is waiting, grace is free.

  511. But. Grace is not cheap.

  512. Jesus died because of our sin. Few words of.

  513. Application. We must therefore, Church,

  514. continue to proclaim. The gospel to ourselves.

  515. This is the hardest. Thing to do is to proclaim.

  516. The gospel to yourself. Charles Spurgeon once saw a man

  517. complaining the other day. He says people have accused me

  518. of. This and Spurgeon says to this

  519. man, you're in fact worse than what they.

  520. Say to you. Reminding him of his sin, and

  521. the reformers would say in that context the term Luther used to

  522. use. Is that we are.

  523. Both sinners, and also. Righteous just as espicardo.

  524. We are both just just as well righteous, therefore.

  525. The presence of sin is still among us, and therefore each.

  526. Day we have to constantly preach the gospel to ourselves.

  527. Reminding ourselves of. Who?

  528. Jesus is, and what he has done to save us, we must never allow.

  529. Ourselves. To find our identity in anything

  530. else. We are never called to find our

  531. identity in our marriage. We are never called to find our

  532. identity in our work, in our career.

  533. We are called to find our identity in the gospel, in

  534. Christ. We are not even called to find

  535. our identity in ministry. Our identity is in Christ.

  536. So every morning, every day, remind yourself and preach to

  537. yourself this amazing and wonderful.

  538. Gospel. With your eyes looking up.

  539. Just like the apostles look to Christ daily.

  540. Be satisfied. In him alone remind.

  541. Yourself of his. Saving and sovereign.

  542. Grace over your life. #2 Learn to rejoice in the Gospel daily.

  543. There are many difficult circumstances and challenges.

  544. That we. Face and perhaps even this

  545. morning. There are people who came here

  546. this morning and yet are going through some of the most

  547. difficult things this morning. Very tough, whatever it may.

  548. Be this morning you may be going through something very

  549. different. May I remind you this morning to

  550. rejoice. In the gospel of Christ.

  551. Circumstances may not change, but we serve the one the.

  552. Scriptures say yesterday, today. Life may not be.

  553. Easy, but. Rest in Him, trust in Him,

  554. ground your joy in Him, and meditate on His truth #3 Study

  555. the person and the work of and, and and often.

  556. As. Students of the Bible, we love

  557. sometimes to study the most difficult things about the

  558. Bible. I mean when you when, especially

  559. when you meet a group of pastors.

  560. They say what's your? Thoughts on a meal, post meal,

  561. pre meal and all this sort of and sometimes we want to talk

  562. about. All those other difficult.

  563. Things. And yet we miss the very basics.

  564. We must go back to studying Christ.

  565. We must go back. To study the work of Christ.

  566. If we miss that, I say again, if we miss that, we miss everything

  567. else. You may want to even study the

  568. Trinity, but if you don't know Christ, if you know.

  569. Christ, then you. Don't know the gospel?

  570. And so church. Let's continue to study the

  571. person of Christ. Read the book of.

  572. Hebrews read the Synoptic Gospels and John read in order

  573. to understand the person. I'm also perhaps here

  574. recommending a book by Doctor Michael Reeves titled Rejoicing

  575. in Christ. That is my prayer this morning

  576. as we close precious Saints. It is in creation that we ought

  577. to understand who God is and what He has made.

  578. It is in the fall of man. Where we realize.

  579. How men to use DA cousin term? De Gorded God.

  580. It is in the Gospel where we understand what Christ has done

  581. to redeem sin. And let's never forget.

  582. That let's not forget. That in our prayers.

  583. Let us not. Forget that in our singing.

  584. Let us not forget that in our conversations.

  585. Of who Christ is the lover of our soul, our Lord.

  586. We thank you this morning for reminding us.

  587. Of this basic truth, the truth is that the gospel saves, that

  588. the gospel is a person, that the gospel is Christ.

  589. It is the work of Christ. Lord help us not to want to

  590. graduate from this truth. But Lord help us.

  591. To continue to remind ourselves of this truth, and not only

  592. that, Lord, to rejoice in this truth.

  593. But also. To share this wonderful truth

  594. with the world around us. And we ask all.

  595. Of this in Jesus name, Amen. Thank you for listening to

  596. today's message. We hope you are encouraged and

  597. challenged in your faith. If you're in the southern

  598. suburbs, we'd love to welcome you in person at one of our

  599. serves. Don't forget to subscribe, share

  600. this message with a friend, and stay connected with us on social

  601. media for more inspiration throughout the week.
