  1. Appreciate Brother Jimmy's prayer and there's a couple of things that I heard him say in there that I want to pull out for a second.

  2. Um He mentioned that the Lord's promise to come back again.

  3. That's that's a very important promise that the Lord would make that I will come again and receive you unto myself.

  4. He promised that second coming without sin unto salvation.

  5. And then he mentioned, Brother Jimmy mentioned that a God that cannot lie.

  6. I'm glad to know that his promise is not just words, but it's a promise of a promise of a God that cannot lie.

  7. This morning I want to take your mind to um the Acts of the Apostles.

  8. Something that's been upon my mind all week.

  9. Second chapter of Acts, if you have your Bibles.

  10. That day of Pentecost was a fulfillment of what the Lord had told the disciples as he went away in the first chapter.

  11. He goes away from them after 40 days of having been with them, eaten with them, did the things that um he would prove himself alive after his crucifixion.

  12. They knew he died.

  13. They knew he they had taken that body down and had buried it, and he had been there for three days and three nights.

  14. But then he came back and he visited with them, and for 40 days he visited with them, one group, and then another group, and another group, and all in all he visited at least three times that he showed himself alive and had proven to indisputable evidence.

  15. There were some that doubted, but then the Lord cleared away all that doubt.

  16. Thomas doubted, and eight days later, he said, My Lord and my God.

  17. He had seen the nail prints, he had seen the ribbon side, whether he touched it or whether he didn't, it doesn't matter.

  18. He was convinced this is the same man that I know died on that cross and was buried for three days and three nights, and now here he stands again delivered in front of me.

  19. They they would visit more, and then the Lord would ascend out of their sight and leave them with a message tarry in Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high.

  20. And for ten more days they would go through some things.

  21. And Matthias was brought in as the chosen new twelfth apostle, and for ten days they stayed there in Jerusalem until this day here, the day of Pentecost.

  22. Pente is the 50th day.

  23. It was a feast day, and they were gathered together in one place, and the spirit came upon them and around them, and it says, as a rushing mighty wind.

  24. It didn't say it was wind, but it was as a mighty rushing wind within them.

  25. And I I tend to agree with some of the commentators, it doesn't necessarily mean it was like the wind that was blowing everything else that it blows upon.

  26. If the wind came through this house, it would blow and move everything in the house, but it moved like a wind, but it moved upon them.

  27. I believe this was that wind that they felt inwardly the moving of the spirit within them, they were charged with that spirit.

  28. They were moved inwardly.

  29. As you also times you'll find that the spirit will move upon you.

  30. And when you hear the gospel message in power and demonstration of spirit, sometimes, Brother Jimmy, we get a little taste of that spirit moving within us when something happens within you that you can't explain exactly, but you can feel it, and you know it, and you can't deny it.

  31. It's real and it's moving to our souls, and it's like that wind is whirling within me, and I feel his spirit embracing me.

  32. That's what happened upon the day of Pentecost among these.

  33. Peter, then, after that event of the Pentecost, and there was all manner of uh nationalities here, Jews from all over, uh, want to go down to the 21st verse.

  34. And it came to pass that whosoever and it and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  35. That phrase call upon the name of the Lord is used in several places.

  36. That's not my subject this morning, but I can tell you, uh that calling upon the name of the Lord is not in word only.

  37. Not everyone that saith Lord, Lord.

  38. That's not the issue.

  39. It's that calling upon the name of the Lord in a dependent way, not an independent, but in a dependency manner.

  40. When you call upon the Lord like Abba Father, my father, when you have a desire to get his attention and you call out to him in your soul, I need thee, O Lord, that that feeling and intent to draw his attention to you, that you might have audience with him.

  41. And that is a manifestation.

  42. It is an evidence that the Lord is with you, that the Lord has influenced you to the point like a like a person that is dependent upon another, they need them.

  43. So here he says, They that shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  44. And that is not a saved as saved to become a child of God, and heaven will be your home.

  45. This is a saved, and you would see it later in this chapter, that is a saving of our timely needs, of our now thing.

  46. It is like the child that cries to the parent.

  47. They don't cry to the parent to become a child of the parent.

  48. They cry to the parent because they desire the parent because they are a child already.

  49. It is an evidence that there is a relationship that has already happened.

  50. So this crying is an evidence that you are a child of God and you're saved from this untoward generation, from this backward way of living that is so against the spirit that it wars with the things of the spirit.

  51. Now he would then say, Ye men of Israel, hear these words.

  52. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourself also know.

  53. All those things that Christ did as the miracles, they validated.

  54. Not in that he needed validation, but in their eyes it validated that he was who he said he was.

  55. He was who he said he was.

  56. He was the son of God, and he is the son of God.

  57. And he is the Messiah, the promised son of God, the one that was promised to Abraham.

  58. And I want to look at that in just a moment in a quick way, in that uh here is here is my text that came on me to think about.

  59. That he is introduced, Jesus of Nazareth.

  60. Very particular who he's talking about, Jesus of Nazareth.

  61. Him being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, him being delivered, him being delivered as that Messiah that was promised, promised in so many ways in Old Testament, so many that we we could not, even if I had a list of them, I think we'd probably run out of time this morning trying to list all the places that he was prophesied of.

  62. That he was not just, it wasn't a matter that somebody was predicting about him, but it was talking about him as though it already was.

  63. It was promised in the prophecies that were given.

  64. Let's go all the way back to the very beginning after uh uh when God had created the man and taken a rib from his side and formed the woman, and there was a prophecy about her seed and the head of the snake.

  65. That promise of that promised one, that promised seed that would come, that promised in singular seed, that seed that would come from that woman would eventually come down to a particular time.

  66. We find, let's go to the 21st chapter of the book of Genesis for a little bit, and we'll see another great promise that was made in the 12th verse, 21 and 12 of Genesis.

  67. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad and because of thy bondswoman.

  68. Talking about Ishmael and Hagar, and all, because Sarah had called for them to be expelled out of the house, to send them away, that Ishmael would not have been heir to Abraham's property and his the family, cast them away, and we remember that story.

  69. That's that's where man tries to get ahead of God.

  70. It's not happening fast enough for man, so they devise a way that it would in their eyes make it right.

  71. All it did was bring about a child and his mother being cast out because the promise to Abraham is a child by Sarah.

  72. That's the promise.

  73. And he said, Let it not be grievous because of the lad and the bondswoman.

  74. In all that Sarah has said unto thee, hearken unto her voice.

  75. For in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

  76. In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

  77. Paul would tell us so that we wouldn't be squabbling over what seed is that.

  78. He said, It's not seeds as of many, but as of one.

  79. And Paul says that's Christ.

  80. So Abraham is given a promise to deliver one that is the particular seed that will come through Isaac.

  81. In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

  82. We find that the next chapter over the next chapter over Isaac is there with Abraham, and God says, take that son Isaac, and offer him as a burnt offering to me.

  83. What an interesting thing that God would give Abraham a son of his old age, mind you.

  84. Abraham's a hundred years old.

  85. He's a hundred years old, and Sarah's nanny, and they have this boy called Isaac, and they called him Isaac because God had named him.

  86. His name shall be called Isaac, and Isaac shall thy seed be called.

  87. Now you're telling me to go take him and to offer him up, to kill him, offer him up as a burnt sacrifice.

  88. When you burn it up, it's consumed.

  89. So there's no mixing of words here.

  90. Take and kill him upon that mount.

  91. And Abraham staggered not, for he believed God.

  92. But Stephen said that Isaac hasn't had a child yet.

  93. I know even if I kill him, God will raise him up because God cannot lie.

  94. God had proven himself with Abraham plenty, and he does not lie.

  95. Abraham staggered not, but took that boy up.

  96. And he did offer him.

  97. Not to death, but he did in his intent, he did show forth what uh what God had said is true.

  98. Take that son and offer him up.

  99. And as he drew back the knife, God stayed his hand.

  100. Well known, well known story.

  101. And instead of killing the boy, God gave him a ram caught in a thicket, and that ram took Isaac's place.

  102. That ram went on the altar.

  103. He loosened Isaac, set him free.

  104. He no longer bonds to the altar.

  105. Now he's free.

  106. And the ram goes on the altar, and Abraham slays the ram.

  107. There is representation, the law of representation.

  108. That ram took the place of Isaac.

  109. That is the promise of one that cannot lie.

  110. Now, there's a lot more in that.

  111. Let's go back.

  112. Him being delivered.

  113. Him being delivered.

  114. That delivered.

  115. There's a lot of different things men will say about him being delivered.

  116. They'll make it as though God gave uh he delivered Christ and caused men to raise their hand against him and slay him.

  117. That's not what that word delivered is pertaining to.

  118. That word delivered there is meant he delivered him on time, in time, at the time, when the fullness, Paul would say, when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his son made of a woman, made under the law.

  119. Why?

  120. Because God did so love the world that he gave his only begotten son.

  121. He gave his only begotten son at the particular time that God would send his son as was prophesied of that seed that would come through Isaac, that Jesus would say to the woman, Salvation is of the Jews.

  122. It's of the Jews.

  123. It came through that lineage.

  124. And there's a lot in that lineage.

  125. Rahab the harlot was in the lineage of Christ.

  126. Ruth the Moabitist was in the lineage of Christ.

  127. We find men that were that had indiscretions in their lives were in the lineage of Christ.

  128. But it flowed through that line all the way down to this point.

  129. Now we're at the point where we find that the prophecies are becoming very obviously shown.

  130. That voice that was prophesied of, that would come out of the wilderness crying, that voice that would come declaring the repent and be baptized, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  131. That voice, friends, that was not worldly, but he was sent by God to go and declare this is the day.

  132. After 400 years of silence from the prophets having heard the word of God and delivered it to Israel.

  133. Now, after 400 years of no hearing from a prophet, no hearing from God, all of a sudden, my friend, the silence is broken.

  134. The silence now is broken, and we hear that voice declaring, this is the time, folks.

  135. This is the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  136. It's with us.

  137. And then we find that Jesus came upon the scene after he had lived for thirty years, having been born in Bethlehem of Ephrata, as was prophesied.

  138. And in another place it talks about him that it would be called a Nazarene.

  139. So here we have two points of reference.

  140. There is Nazareth, and then there is Bethlehem, and they're a long way apart.

  141. And so as they begin to contemplate the validity to Christ, we find that one goes and he finds Nathaniel and he says, Come and see the one.

  142. We found him.

  143. We found the one that we have been anticipating that he's going to come.

  144. Just think about it, my friend, that in their day, their generation, their time, all of a sudden now that silence is broken.

  145. That now in history of the world at the that that have Has been prophesied of, that has been spoken about.

  146. A child is born, a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder.

  147. All of a sudden, now it's coming to pass.

  148. It's coming to pass.

  149. He's delivered.

  150. He's delivered.

  151. The Messiah has now been delivered.

  152. There's a prophecy.

  153. Remember, we read that there's a prophecy that a virgin shall conceive and shall bear a son.

  154. And his name shall be called Emmanuel, which has interpreted God with us.

  155. God with us.

  156. Just think about it, my friends.

  157. God with us.

  158. The very creator of the universe, the very one that said, let there be light.

  159. Before all, my friends, before anything had happened, that is worldly, that is natural, that is made.

  160. Before that, God already was doing what God is.

  161. God is.

  162. And he that cometh to God must believe that he is.

  163. Not that he is doing something.

  164. It is that he exists.

  165. That he is God and He is what He says he is.

  166. He's not what He says he is because He said it.

  167. He said it because He is.

  168. God is eternal.

  169. There's no beginning of days, there's no ending of time.

  170. Not with God.

  171. There is no limit to His power.

  172. Well, except what He tells us that He's limited in, in that He cannot lie, and He cannot deny Himself.

  173. I know that about God because He said that about Himself.

  174. And He cannot change.

  175. I am God and I change not.

  176. Therefore, you sons of Jacob were not consumed.

  177. He's not like me that I get in moody ways and I say I'm going to do something and then I change my mind to do something.

  178. No, God changes not.

  179. Whatsoever Solomon said, whatsoever God doeth, he doeth forever.

  180. So we can trust Brother Jimmy when he said, I'm coming back.

  181. I can trust.

  182. God's not going to change that.

  183. God said, I'll come and receive you to myself.

  184. And he will come and receive you.

  185. He was delivered.

  186. Now listen to it.

  187. Him being delivered.

  188. Well, him.

  189. That's the first thing to remember.

  190. We're talking about him.

  191. And Brother Jim Hill, we want to always talk about him.

  192. Because he is the central theme of all of our life.

  193. It's all about him.

  194. Him be delivered by the determinate counsel.

  195. What determinant?

  196. When did that happen?

  197. When did determinate council?

  198. People see people will doubt whenever we say something about the everlasting covenant or the eternal council or the uh here it said by the determinate counsel.

  199. Determinate counsel.

  200. That, my friends, is not a group of men.

  201. It is God the Father, God the Word, and God the Holy Spirit.

  202. And these three are one.

  203. There are three that bear record in heaven.

  204. Three that bear record in heaven.

  205. And they agree, and they are one.

  206. And there's no daylight between them.

  207. There's nothing separate about them.

  208. The word separate and God do not mix.

  209. Because if you say one thing about the Holy Spirit, you're talking about the Father.

  210. If you say something about the Word or Christ, Jesus, that is, you're talking about the Father.

  211. And so it is with the Spirit.

  212. They are three, yet they are one.

  213. And whether I understand it or not does not change anything.

  214. That is the determinant counsel that he is delivered by.

  215. By the Him delivered He being delivered by the determinant counsel.

  216. God determined before the world began that at this particular time, at this particular moment, at this particular place, by this particular virgin, conceived of the Holy Spirit, would be born naturally in a natural body, in a flesh body.

  217. He was prepared a body.

  218. The word was made flesh.

  219. Now he's the only one that has ever had that distinction that an eternal person could be made flesh.

  220. We did not have an existence prior to our conception.

  221. We are not eternal children.

  222. We did not have an eternal union with Christ.

  223. You did not exist in heaven before you come to earth.

  224. No, that's that's heresy.

  225. It is natural first, then made spiritual.

  226. But Jesus is distinctive in that he was eternal, made flesh.

  227. Do you know that's what a multitude of this world has trouble with?

  228. Is that the eternal God could be made flesh.

  229. But John did not leave it to mixed words.

  230. He said, and the word was made flesh, and we beheld his glory as the glory of the only begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth, full of grace.

  231. He didn't just have grace, he was full of grace and full of truth.

  232. And he would later say, I am the way, the truth, and the life.

  233. I am what was in heaven, and I am now in body.

  234. He was delivered the body of the Messiah.

  235. The promise to Abraham had come to pass, their manger in Bethlehem, when the fullness of the time was come.

  236. My friend, that's not that's not God leaving anything to chance.

  237. God determined exactly when he would be born.

  238. He was way up ahead, and he is the one that sent the angel to tell Joseph, take not, fear not to take Mary into the wife, for that which is conceived is of the Holy Ghost.

  239. That holy thing that she bears is with from the Holy Ghost.

  240. So the word that was with God, and the word was God.

  241. The same was in the beginning with God.

  242. Let me come over to Isaiah real quick and we'll find about this just to drive that.

  243. Isaiah chapter nine.

  244. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called wonderful.

  245. Listen to these names.

  246. Talking about Jesus, talking about that son born in Bethlehem, talking about that little baby that's in a body, his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the mighty God, the mighty God.

  247. He thought it not Robert to be equal with God.

  248. Why?

  249. Because he was God, the word was made flesh and dwelt among he was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, the mighty God, the everlasting Father.

  250. This is his name, which declare his person and the prince of peace.

  251. It says, In him dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

  252. He is distinctive in that no one else ever fits that category.

  253. Nobody ever can take those descriptions to themselves.

  254. We're heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, but we're that by grace.

  255. He is that by begotten.

  256. We are adopted.

  257. He is begotten, the only begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth.

  258. He was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God.

  259. The foreknowledge, the foreknowledge of God is the very cornerpiece of His ability to not change, to not lack anything.

  260. The very thought, my friends, and understanding that God knows you better than you know yourself.

  261. He knows what you stand in need of because God doesn't learn anything.

  262. We think sometimes our prayers enlighten God.

  263. Sometimes we kind of act like it does.

  264. Like I'll pray to God and He'll He'll have to give me this.

  265. Or even the question, why didn't God give me that?

  266. My friends, God always answers with the best answer, with the right answer, with the most honoring answer to his righteousness.

  267. Foreknowledge of God, my friends, is the underpinning of the fact that God did not have to learn anything.

  268. He didn't have to learn when you would come into existence.

  269. He didn't have to learn anything of your character.

  270. He doesn't have to wait till the end of time to judge you.

  271. Because, friends, he already knows the end from the beginning.

  272. He's seen all things in his foreknowledge.

  273. There's nothing that surprises God.

  274. There's nothing, when the when he says, time be no more, that there is time does not go on any further.

  275. God will not learn, have learned anything that he didn't already foreknow before the foundation of the world.

  276. You think, well, maybe he could have done that crucifixion thing a little different.

  277. Maybe Christ wouldn't have had to suffer as much as what he did.

  278. My friend, God didn't, none of that took him by surprise.

  279. God knew all things before.

  280. And here, my friends, is part of that foreknowledge is that he foreknew you before the foundation of the world.

  281. He foreknew you not just what kind of person you'd be, not just who you'd be, who you'd be born to, or anything.

  282. He foreknew you in a relationship, in a foreknowing for whom he did foreknow.

  283. For whom he did foreknow.

  284. I know that's not talking about intellectual, that's talking about a relationship knowledge.

  285. But my friends, the point is he did it before he ever said, let there be light.

  286. God already knew you as his child, he already engraved you upon the palm of his hand.

  287. He already saw you as his child, as if you were already in heaven, that you were already with him before him in love, without sin, completely, uh, completely uh as though you never sinned against him.

  288. And he knew what it would mean to get you there.

  289. He knew what it would mean to bring you into that righteous condition.

  290. Why?

  291. Because he already knew you would become sinners before him.

  292. He knew that you would be of fallen nature of Adam, number one, strike against you.

  293. And then you would not only be of Adam's transgression, but you'd be a practicing, practicing, an operating sinner.

  294. You would be a sinner by practice and an offense against his holiness.

  295. So, my friends, there has to, something has to happen to bring you from that fallen, broken, dead.

  296. Say, isn't broken enough?

  297. No, broken's not even enough.

  298. Because it's dead to God.

  299. You're dead in trespasses and sin.

  300. That means, Brother Elton, before something happens to us by Him, we're separated from God.

  301. Separate as though dead and buried away from God, but something happens because in that foreknowledge, my friends, he all he knew that Christ would come at the appointed time.

  302. That he would be delivered by the determinant counsel.

  303. And in that council, my friends, he didn't just say, My son will go down there.

  304. He said, My son will go down there and he will do something so miraculous.

  305. It's hard to even understand, my friend, how this transaction can even happen.

  306. But before the world began, God already determined that his son would come at the appointed time, and at the appointed time, when his hour was come.

  307. And there was one time he said, Woman, my hour has not yet come.

  308. But then in the Garden of Gethsemane, he said, My hour is come.

  309. And he went and prayed, because he knew, my friends, that that was the night.

  310. That was the night that Judas would betray him as was determined.

  311. You say, Well, no, Judas didn't.

  312. There's old testament prophecy, my familiar friend hath kicked up his heels against me.

  313. And speaking about Judas.

  314. Familiar means my evil friend, my familiar.

  315. That that was prophesied of.

  316. At that table, Jesus said, Whatsoever thou doest, do us quickly.

  317. Jesus already knew he was going out to conspire for 30 pieces of silver.

  318. That's even mentioned in the Old Testament.

  319. That for 30 pieces of silver he was sold to those the wicked men.

  320. My friends, what was determined in that council is that I will lay down my life.

  321. As that ram, that life of the ram stood in the place of Isaac.

  322. Isaac went free.

  323. I'll be that ram for my people, for every single one of mine that I did foreknow.

  324. For whom he did foreknow in Romans chapter 8.

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  325. For whom I did for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate.

  326. That predestination, friend, is a part of his determinate counsel.

  327. He didn't predestinate actions, he predestinated his people to be with him, righteous standing before him in love.

  328. But it would take a sacrifice like no other could or ever will be like unto this one, where he says, No man taketh my life from me, I lay it down for my friends.

  329. And he was delivered for this purpose.

  330. Him being delivered by the determinate counsel.

  331. And for let's just look.

  332. And him being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God.

  333. Ye have taken.

  334. Let's put the blame where it belongs on the crucifixion.

  335. People crucified him.

  336. But my friends, he was delivered to that crucifixion by God's determinate counsel that I will be there, and Christ simply laid himself into their hands.

  337. As a sheep before his shears is dumb.

  338. He didn't fight against them.

  339. People say, Well, why didn't he defend himself?

  340. No, my friend, he was defending you and me.

  341. He was going in our place.

  342. He was the ram caught with his horns in the thicket and would not pull out.

  343. He would go through what it was necessary to pay the price.

  344. God's righteousness had been violated by us, by me.

  345. My friend, I violated God's holiness through my father Adam, and by my own actions, I'm a violation against God.

  346. Nevertheless, I am crucified with Christ.

  347. Yet not I.

  348. I am crucified with Christ, who loved me and gave himself for me.

  349. My friends, that crucifixion, he was hanging there between heaven and earth for six hours.

  350. And in the whole six hours, my friends, his heart, full of the love of his people, not a one of his children that he did foreknow would be left out of this action that he was taking.

  351. That he would take their sin.

  352. He would, it would be transacted to him, and whatever I had to pay, he paid it.

  353. That was laid upon him and he satisfied the debt.

  354. There has to be a payment, and he paid the debt.

  355. We're not redeemed with corruptible things such as silver and gold, but by the precious blood of Christ.

  356. That's what paid my debt.

  357. That's what paid your debt.

  358. That's what paid every child of God's debt.

  359. And there's nothing for you to give to earn it.

  360. What a polluted idea is that we can ever pay anything to interject in the payment of that transaction because we were 10,000 talents in debt.

  361. We talked about that.

  362. And not a father, not a quarter of a penny.

  363. Just a quarter of a penny.

  364. I don't even have that much.

  365. There's no righteousness in me.

  366. I'm as filthy rags.

  367. And what do I think I'm going to add to the process?

  368. Not a thing, my friends.

  369. But he paid the full debt.

  370. He paid the full debt.

  371. I want to find a place over here about um.

  372. It's in John, I think.

  373. Even among the Samaritans, not just the Jews, there's a woman at a well.

  374. The woman at a well.

  375. The twenty-fifth verse, John chapter four and twenty-five, the woman said to him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ.

  376. When he is come, he will tell us all things.

  377. She understood the concept of Messiah.

  378. She understands the concept of Christ.

  379. And Christ is a not just a proper noun for Jesus, but it is a title of Messiah.

  380. The Christ.

  381. She understood that the Christ is coming.

  382. The Old Testament had been had been used and preached and uh they worshiped.

  383. Even even Samaritans knew the heritage of Abraham and of all the Jews.

  384. They knew a lot of the things that was, and they anticipated that Messiah.

  385. They anticipated seeing that there's coming a day when the Messiah will come.

  386. And when he comes, I like it what she says there.

  387. That's faith.

  388. And when he comes, there was no doubt this woman, this woman went to that well with the with the expectation that there's coming a day when the Messiah is going to come, not knowing what's about to touch her.

  389. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am He.

  390. I am the fulfilled.

  391. Don't you know that was a it was probably a little shock to her.

  392. But he's going to use her words, and he's going to influence her.

  393. She said, When he comes, he'll tell us all things.

  394. He said, I that stand before speak unto thee am he.

  395. And upon and upon this came his disciples and marveled that he talked with the woman.

  396. Yet no man, uh no man said, What seekest thou, or why talkest thou with her?

  397. The woman then left her water pots and went her way into the city and said unto the men, Come and see a man which told me all things that I ever did.

  398. Is not this the Christ?

  399. My friends, this woman, she had come there for a drink of natural water.

  400. She left with a springing well of water within her.

  401. She went with the knowledge of every we anticipate him coming, and he is here.

  402. Here he is.

  403. This is a man that has told me all things ever.

  404. He got in my business, and he knows my business.

  405. He, my friends, uh, he is like a well of water springing up within me.

  406. And she went and spread the news.

  407. Come see a man.

  408. My friend, that is the message for anyone that feels that springing up of that water of Christ is to come and see, come to where he is most likely to be, in his church, where the gospel's being preached, with the understanding of my friends.

  409. You know, there was another one.

  410. Nathaniel was told, we have found him.

  411. He's been delivered.

  412. The determinant counsel that deliverance has happened.

  413. He's here.

  414. Come and see him.

  415. And Nathaniel says, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?

  416. Well, yeah.

  417. Yeah.

  418. You know, there wasn't anything talked about in of Nazareth concerning the priesthood or anything good.

  419. Nathaniel just couldn't make out.

  420. Well, what is this thing, this Nazarene?

  421. Maybe he just didn't hear all the story that he'd been born in Bethlehem of a virgin, conceived of the Holy Ghost, showing the great things.

  422. But this brother was telling him, You come and see.

  423. Come and see.

  424. When he went down there, he got personal again.

  425. Jesus got in his business.

  426. Jesus got into his life.

  427. Because Jesus read he as as Nathaniel came on the scene.

  428. Jesus said, Here I is realite and whom there's no guile.

  429. Where do you know me from?

  430. Where do you know me from?

  431. You know, you may not think the Lord's paying attention to you, but you know, the Lord Lord may not ever seen him in the flesh some other place.

  432. I don't know, but I know he saw him one place.

  433. He said, When thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

  434. Wouldn't you ever know me?

  435. I knew you from that, I saw you under a fig tree.

  436. I was I just maybe I'm supposing here, but Nathaniel couldn't understand how Jesus knew about that moment under that fig tree.

  437. And I believe what the message is, is that it's not a matter of whether you see Christ as does Christ see you?

  438. Did he see you under that fig tree?

  439. Jesus saw him under that fig tree.

  440. Something happened under the fig tree that resonated with Nathaniel that said, you know, nobody was around.

  441. I didn't see anybody that, you know, I was all alone under that fig tree.

  442. Yeah, there's something big happened there.

  443. But uh nobody else should have known anything about that.

  444. That was just me and my business.

  445. I'm gonna tell you, Jesus, he's in the business of being our business.

  446. He's in our life, he's in your day-to-day, he knows the very thing you go through.

  447. There's not a thing that can get past him.

  448. Dear friends, he was delivered for our offenses.

  449. He was delivered for our offenses, but he was raised for our justification.

  450. If he was delivered for your offenses, doesn't it follow that he knows all about your offenses?

  451. He knows everything about you, but both the good and the bad.

  452. There's nothing, my friends, that gets by the Lord on that.

  453. Him being delivered by the determinant counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands has crucified him.

  454. You know, this would move them.

  455. I'm gonna I'm gonna stop here just just for a second.

  456. I just want to go get what happens with this sermon.

  457. Back to Acts chapter 2.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  458. This is a beautiful chapter of the beginning of the church.

  459. What Peter preaches is influential to the church.

  460. Ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

  461. In other words, you're you're part of the guilty.

  462. You're part of that.

  463. I've I've tried to preach on the the uh the city as a refuge, and that we're manslayers.

  464. We didn't intentionally crucify the Lord.

  465. I wasn't there, you wasn't there, but our sins was there.

  466. We're manslayers to that degree, and we can resort to that city of refuge.

  467. He says, whom God hath raised up and hath loosed the pains of death because it's not possible that he should be holding of it.

  468. Then he goes on about David.

  469. Then he finally comes down and says, Men and brother, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David.

  470. He had mentioned David back over there, but let me speak about David.

  471. David, that he is both dead and buried, and his suppulcher is with us unto this day.

  472. Therefore, being a prophet, knowing that God hath sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would be raised up, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.

  473. He seeing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

  474. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof ye are witnesses.

  475. Wherefore, being by the right hand of God exalted and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this which ye now see and hear.

  476. For David is not ascended into heaven, but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand until I make thy foes thy footsteps.

  477. Therefore let all the house of Israel know, assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

  478. That's the message, dear friends, to us.

  479. You you crucified him, but God raised him from the dead, and he'll sit on that throne forever.

  480. Now, when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart.

  481. Pricked in their heart.

  482. A lot of difference in what happens here and what had happened back with Stephen.

  483. What happens, well, what will happen with Stephen?

  484. So they were cut to the heart.

  485. Here it says they were pricked in the heart.

  486. You know what that tells me, Brother Jimmy?

  487. There's life in that heart.

  488. There's feeling.

  489. Oh, I feel the prick.

  490. They were pricked in the heart.

  491. That woman was pricked in the heart.

  492. Nathaniel was pricked in the heart.

  493. When he heard those words, my friend, it touched the very core of their being.

  494. It's here.

  495. They heard those things and they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do?

  496. What shall I do about it?

  497. Oh, what?

  498. What can I do?

  499. I'm responsible for the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  500. It was my sins.

  501. And I'm speaking to a house full of people that it was your sins.

  502. It was our sins that put him on that cross.

  503. What shall we do?

  504. What can I do?

  505. I feel so wrong.

  506. What can I do?

  507. I don't think they're looking for eternal salvation here.

  508. They're looking for release or relief, I might say, of what they've done.

  509. It's that feeling that you get when you know you've hurt somebody and you wonder what can I do about that?

  510. What can I do about that?

  511. What can I do?

  512. Men and brethren, what shall we do?

  513. And Peter said unto them, Repent.

  514. Correct.

  515. Get on the right path.

  516. Get in correction.

  517. Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  518. You know what the gift of the Holy Ghost is?

  519. I would try to preach it about it here.

  520. The gift of the Holy Ghost is visitation by the Holy Ghost.

  521. It's his coming into your presence.

  522. The gift of the Holy, you know, the gift that of God is Christ Jesus.

  523. Jesus was the gift of God.

  524. The gift of the Holy Ghost is the Holy Ghost coming and being delivered to you.

  525. That Holy Ghost that embraces you.

  526. Kind of like this is this is a crude illustration.

  527. But when a child has hurt another child and they run to mama and they don't know what they can do, and mom just embraces, embraces.

  528. That's what Christ repent and be to baptize, be baptized is to follow Christ, to follow him and what he has taught and his preaching and his teaching.

  529. The teaching of the manners of Christ, the very mind of Christ.

  530. Paul said, let this mind be in you, which was in Christ.

  531. That being baptized is to take on the mind of Christ.

  532. It is to follow him in his church, to listen to his teaching, and to embrace him.

  533. And in that, he embraces us.

  534. We'll stop there.

  535. Thank you for your attention this morning.

  536. Remember, he was delivered.

  537. He was delivered for us.
