  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God

  9. in 1 Corinthians chapter 4. I want to

    1 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  10. read two verses. Stand with me in honor

  11. of reference to the reading of God's

  12. word. 1 Corinthians chapter 4.

    1 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  13. I remember several years ago, I guess

  14. it's been exactly six years ago now

  15. when the turn of the 2020s came around.

  16. I remember everybody preached that

  17. Sunday on 2020 vision. And uh I was

  18. thinking about this year and we're still

  19. in the 2020s. Amen.

  20. >> And uh we're six of them down. Ain't

  21. that hard to believe?

  22. >> And uh but I was thinking praying this

  23. past year coming to the close what the

  24. Lord would have us be the vision for

  25. this coming year. And uh he placed text

  26. on my heart and I'm going to preach from

  27. it this morning. You probably seen it on

  28. the screen here. But I'm going to look

  29. here. 1 Corinthians chapter 4 verse

    1 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  30. number one.

  31. The Bible says here 1 Corinthians 4

  32. verse number one, let a man so account

  33. of us as of the ministers of Christ and

  34. stewards of the mysteries of God.

  35. Moreover, it's required in stewards that

  36. a man be found

  37. >> faithful.

  38. >> And I want to preach this morning with

  39. the help of the Lord for just a little

  40. while on the standard of stewardship.

  41. The standard of stewardship.

  42. This is going to be our vision for this

  43. year at the church. That thought of

  44. faithfulness.

  45. And uh I was praying Lord give me this

  46. and I'll just give it to you on the

  47. onset of the message. You understand the

  48. Bible teaches that faith is something

  49. that's not seen.

  50. >> The Bible says in Hebrews chap 11 verse

  51. number one that faith is faith is the

  52. substance of things hoped for the

  53. evidence of things not seen. I'll tell

  54. you this. Your faith is not visible to

  55. the eye, but your faithfulness is.

  56. >> And I can tell you how much faith you

  57. have by how faithful you are. Amen.

  58. >> I want to preach on that thought. Let's

  59. pray today and ask the Lord to help us.

  60. Father, thank you for this good day.

  61. Thank you, Lord, for your many

  62. blessings. And God, thank you for the

  63. fact, God, that you didn't leave us

  64. where you found us. God, you didn't

  65. overlook us. You didn't leave us behind.

  66. And Lord, you saved us, brought us out

  67. of darkness into your marvelous light.

  68. And Lord, here we are all these years

  69. later. 2025 has ended. Lord, you brought

  70. us through another year,

  71. >> safe and sound, still on my way to

  72. heaven. I bless your name for that.

  73. >> Oh God, I thank you.

  74. >> But Lord, I realize, Father, this year

  75. going to bring new challenges,

  76. Lord, new troubles, God. But I also know

  77. it's going to bring new blessings.

  78. >> Yes. But God, I pray this morning, Lord,

  79. that we would make our mind up in this

  80. service today. Lord, the way that we're

  81. going to view this coming year, Lord, is

  82. through the eyes of the word of God.

  83. >> And Lord, I pray you'd speak to every

  84. heart, save that one that's nearest hell

  85. today and reclaim the backslid. We'll be

  86. sure to give you thanks for what you do

  87. because we ask it in Jesus name. And

  88. God's children said,

  89. >> "Thank you for standing. You can be

  90. seated this morning."

  91. Now, I dealt with chapter number three

  92. in Sunday school this morning a little

  93. bit. We talked about the judgment seat

  94. of Christ. And I want to deal here in

  95. this text here, chapter 4:es 1 and two,

  96. concerning this matter of stewardship

  97. and the standard of stewardship. Now,

  98. the Bible has much to say about

  99. stewardship and this truth. You look at

  100. the Old Testament, stewardship is a very

  101. prevalent doctrine all throughout the

  102. word of God. And uh I was thinking about

  103. this text and considering where the Lord

  104. would have us to go with this message

  105. this morning, this thought. And I I

  106. really just want to walk through the

  107. verses with you if I may. I want to

  108. consider chapter 3 here. Look there in

  109. chapter 3 and verse number 21.

  110. Chapter 3 21. The Apostle Paul says,

  111. "Therefore, let no man glory in men."

  112. And notice this statement. For all

  113. things are yours.

  114. >> I don't know about you, but that makes

  115. me happy. Amen.

  116. >> Amen. I'll tell you why in just a

  117. minute. Whether Paul or Apollos or Cphus

  118. or the world or life or death or things

  119. present or things to come, notice it

  120. again. All are yours. Verse 23.

  121. And ye are Christ and Christ is God's.

  122. And isn't it interesting that these are

  123. the verses that lead up to our text in

  124. verses 1 and two. Now you say,

  125. "Preacher, but they're divided. There's

  126. a break." Well, I want to remind you

  127. something. Not the chapter divisions and

  128. verse divisions are not inspired. We

  129. look at this text, and you need to link

  130. the whole thing together. You see, the

  131. stewardship issue in verses 1 and two of

  132. chapter 4 goes back to verses 21 through

  133. 23 of chapter number three. And I want

  134. to give you three things by way of

  135. introduction concerning this. Now, in

  136. Sunday school, I said this this morning.

  137. And the cont the Corinthian church was

  138. drawing distinctive lines of who they

  139. were saved under in chapter 3 and verse

  140. number four. And it was causing some of

  141. them to walk carnally. And that what it

  142. was doing is they were glorying in men.

  143. And Paul rebukes this throughout this

  144. chapter. He rebukes it for many

  145. different reasons. For the defilement

  146. that was a part of them, for the the

  147. wisdom of worldliness in verse number n

  148. 18, 19, and 20. And he ends with this

  149. statement in verse 21. He says,

  150. "Therefore, let no man glory in men."

  151. You understand this morning when it

  152. comes to your life and mine, we are no

  153. different at all this morning. You

  154. realize that if you are saved and I am

  155. saved this morning, we are simply

  156. servants of Jesus Christ.

  157. >> But we there's no totem pole in

  158. Christianity. Amen. There's no

  159. hierarchy. Amen. There is no

  160. governmental leadership. You understand?

  161. We are operating under the authority of

  162. Jesus Christ. And Paul says this, he

  163. speaks first of all of this glory that

  164. we are to reject. Notice that.

  165. Therefore, let no man glory in men. And

  166. so, we should not revel in who we know

  167. or who we are acquainted with. We should

  168. not use people in our life to get us

  169. places. Amen. And Paul directly here is

  170. speaking of people in the church. Now,

  171. I've heard preachers do this. Preachers

  172. are bad for this. Amen. They'll get in a

  173. contest of name calling. Amen. They'll

  174. get around one another and they'll see

  175. how many names of famous preachers that

  176. they can call to make themselves feel

  177. better about their acquaintances. Amen.

  178. But you know what the truth is? Amen.

  179. Really what it comes down to at the end

  180. of the day. If I had never known any

  181. preacher, never been to any church, if I

  182. know Jesus Christ, hey, that puts me at

  183. the top. Somebody say amen. We're not to

  184. glory in men because why? Well, Paul

  185. says here in the text that men here in

  186. this text, they only have a figure of

  187. wisdom. In verse number 18, he said, "If

  188. any man among you, notice this, seemth

  189. to be wise in this world." You see,

  190. wisdom in this world is only seeming

  191. wisdom. Amen. It's not real wisdom.

  192. Amen. Real wisdom, the Bible says, is

  193. from heaven. Amen. It's not sensual or

  194. devilish. Amen. But it is from heaven

  195. and it's from God Almighty. And so

  196. worldly wisdom is just a form. It's just

  197. a figure of wisdom and then worldly

  198. wisdom fails. In verse number 19, the

  199. wisdom of this world is foolishness with

  200. God. For it is written, he taketh the

  201. wise in their own craftiness. If you are

  202. walking in carnal, worldly selfish

  203. wisdom, you ultimately will fail and

  204. fall every single time. Hey, it's not

  205. about you turning over a new leaf. 2026

  206. is not the time to turn over a new leaf.

  207. If you're lost, you need to be saved.

  208. Amen. And if you're saved, you need to

  209. get right with God. Somebody say amen

  210. right there. That worldly wisdom will

  211. fail you every single time. He tells

  212. them not to glory in men because they

  213. only have a form of wisdom. They only

  214. have failing wisdom. But he also says

  215. that their wisdom is fruitless. In verse

  216. 20 again, the Lord knoweth the thoughts

  217. of the wise. Notice this. That they are

  218. what? Vain. They're empty. They produce

  219. nothing. I'll say this. I don't know

  220. about you, but I want for this church to

  221. be fruitful in 2026. Amen. I want God to

  222. bless. And so Paul tells us here of the

  223. glory that we are to reject. In verse

  224. 21, we're not to exalt men. We're not to

  225. exalt one another. We're to exhort one

  226. another. Amen. Encourage one another in

  227. the Lord. To walk together, amen, in

  228. faith and truth together. Notice what

  229. your Bible says. Not only the glory that

  230. we ought to reject, but notice the gift

  231. that we have received in verse 21 and

  232. 22. For all things are yours. All

  233. things. Now, I want to say this to you

  234. this morning. What we're going to read

  235. in verse 22 does not mean, amen, that we

  236. believe, name it, claim it, religion.

  237. Somebody say, "Amen." We don't believe

  238. word, faith, doctrine. We don't believe

  239. if you just speak Jesus, amen, you can

  240. get saved. All right? When you trust

  241. Christ by faith, that's salvation. But

  242. you can't just say his name. Amen. Hey,

  243. the world calls him by name. The devils

  244. call him by name. But I'll say this,

  245. until you adhere to him in obedience,

  246. there will be no faith in your life. And

  247. so what he is saying here in this text

  248. is for the church and the church alone.

  249. Look what he says. For all things are

  250. yours.

  251. Now you might not understand the

  252. blessing of this, okay? But let me just

  253. give you this. All right? You know what

  254. the Bible says? Romans chapter 8 verse

    Romans 8:28

  255. 28.

  256. For all things work together for good

  257. >> to them that love God, to them who are

  258. the called according to his purpose. And

  259. Paul describes in verse 22 their

  260. differences. You remember they were

  261. divided in verse number four and five

  262. over Paul and Cphus which is Peter and

  263. Apollos. And Paul tells them he says all

  264. things are yours whether Paul or Apollos

  265. or Cphus. What is he saying? He's saying

  266. all these preachers, he says, "These

  267. guys are here to help you."

  268. >> Amen. You can't just claim one of them

  269. and say that he belongs to me and nobody

  270. else can have him. You understand? God

  271. called men to preach. Amen. And you

  272. can't take that out of a man's life. You

  273. can't take away a man from his ministry

  274. if God has put him in that ministry.

  275. Amen. And they were desirous to lift up

  276. one above another. But the truth is in

  277. this text the he is telling them hey God

  278. has given you these men to help you. You

  279. say preacher what do you mean? Well to

  280. put it in simple terms this morning God

  281. has given you the people around you.

  282. >> Yes

  283. >> for your benefit. You're

  284. >> right.

  285. >> Amen.

  286. >> You say preacher what about the lost

  287. people at my workplace? Well they're

  288. souls for you to win for Jesus Christ.

  289. Amen. The people in church are are

  290. saints that you can fellowship with.

  291. When a Christian realizes, hear what I'm

  292. fixing to say this morning. When a

  293. Christian realizes that everything and

  294. everybody in his life is for his

  295. benefit, it'll change your tune a little

  296. bit. You're

  297. >> right.

  298. >> Notice this what he says. He mentions

  299. the people. Not only the people, but the

  300. places. Look what he says in verse 22.

  301. Whether Paul or Apollos or Cphus, notice

  302. this, or the what? World. That's all

  303. places. And all places include what? All

  304. people. You know what? For a child of

  305. God, there is nowhere that a child God

  306. can go where he cannot be fruitful.

  307. >> You're right.

  308. >> Amen. Boy, that's helping me this

  309. morning.

  310. >> You know what? Hey, friend, every

  311. preacher, Amen. Every teacher, every

  312. Christian, Amen. God has a place for

  313. them. But the truth is, if that place

  314. turns their back on that preacher or on

  315. that teacher or on you as a Christian,

  316. God has a whole world that we can

  317. witness to. And you know what? It's all

  318. for our benefit. Yes, you're right.

  319. >> I'm saying we have been blessed with the

  320. benefit of the entire world. You say,

  321. "Preacher, what are you saying?" I'm

  322. saying that a Christian, hey, there's

  323. people that talk about that, you know,

  324. Elon Musk and those guys have the world

  325. at their fingertips. Well, let me say

  326. this to you this morning. As a

  327. Christian, you've got more of the world

  328. at your fingertips than anybody else.

  329. >> Right?

  330. >> You have the opportunity. You have the

  331. ability through the POWER OF GOD TO

  332. REACH any soul. and every soul that you

  333. COME ACROSS WITH THE GOSPEL. AMEN.

  334. >> Y'all not hooking up with this this

  335. morning. Amen. Notice this in the text.

  336. We'll get somewhere in a minute. Okay.

  337. The people, the places, not the

  338. provision in verse 22. Or the world or

  339. what? Life.

  340. God has given us breath

  341. >> to live.

  342. >> I'm saying a Christian's the only one

  343. THAT CAN REALLY ENJOY BREATHING.

  344. >> You're right.

  345. >> Amen. Hey, when a lost person breathes,

  346. they're just thankful they're breathing.

  347. They don't know where it comes from.

  348. Amen. But I'll say this. When a child of

  349. God inhales and exhales,

  350. you know what THAT IS? THAT'S GOD.

  351. >> AMEN.

  352. >> THAT'S LIFE.

  353. >> AMEN. Jesus said, "The thief cometh not,

  354. but for to steal and to kill and

  355. destroy, shall I come that they might

  356. have life and they might HAVE IT MORE

  357. ABUNDANTLY." WHAT DID HE SAY? ALL THINGS

  358. ARE YOURS. THAT'S RIGHT.

  359. >> I'm telling you, this is greatest the

  360. greatest positional truth you'll ever

  361. hear in your life. I'm saying

  362. everything. You say, "Preacher, I OWN IT

  363. ALL. I don't own it all." Oh, BUT THE

  364. TRUTH IS YOUR FATHER DOES. AMEN. And

  365. because he does, you do. Amen. Hey, I'm

  366. saying, friend, there's no place.

  367. THERE'S NO POSITION. THERE'S NO PERSON

  368. THAT GOD WILL WITHHOLD FROM YOU BECAUSE

  369. ALL THINGS ARE YOURS. AMEN.

  370. >> AMEN.

  371. >> I'm not preaching prosperity this

  372. morning. And I'm just telling you what

  373. the Bible says. Amen.

  374. >> Notice this. Whether Paul or Apollos or

  375. Cphus or the world or life, that

  376. provision. Notice this. Or death. You

  377. say, "Preacher, death." Death. How did

  378. that get in this list? Well, you know

  379. what life is? That provision. It's that

  380. power that we're given to live. But you

  381. know what death is? It's just

  382. deliverance

  383. >> for the child of God. Death is just

  384. deliverance.

  385. >> Amen. Death is just stepping out of this

  386. life and stepping into that life. Amen.

  387. I'm saying all things are yours. Hey, I

  388. don't got to worry about dying cuz the

  389. moment that I die, I live in a way that

  390. I'VE NEVER LIVED BEFORE. SOMEBODY SAY,

  391. "AMEN." DEATH IS JUST A DOORWAY INTO THE

  392. HEAVENLY. WHY? ALL THINGS ARE YOURS. I'M

  393. SAYING THIS WORLD AND EVERYTHING IN IT

  394. IS FOR THE CHILD OF GOD. AMEN.

  395. >> Or death.

  396. The power of death is for us. Man,

  397. there's so much I want to preach right

  398. here, but I got to move on.

  399. The people, the places, the provision of

  400. life, the power of death. Notice the

  401. present time in verse number 22. Or

  402. things present, everything that now is.

  403. If if all of that, if all the people and

  404. all the places and just life itself, if

  405. that doesn't cover it all, he says

  406. things present. Everything that now is

  407. >> right

  408. >> is yours. You're

  409. >> right.

  410. >> Amen. Is yours. You say, "Preacher,

  411. where are you going?" Just hang on. All

  412. right. I'm going somewhere. Look what he

  413. says. Or things to come. Oh, man.

  414. >> We talking about death is just a

  415. doorway. But you understand on the other

  416. side of that doorway is life.

  417. >> Amen.

  418. >> That will never ever

  419. end.

  420. >> You're right.

  421. things present or things to come. You

  422. understand? God has prepared a place for

  423. HIS PREPARED PEOPLE AND ALL THINGS

  424. PRESENT RIGHT NOW IN THIS MOMENT. I'm

  425. thankful. Amen. The past is a promise,

  426. but we can't GO BACK THERE. EVERYTHING

  427. THAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW AND EVERYTHING

  428. WE'LL EVER HAVE IN THE FUTURE, IT'S ALL

  429. OURS BECAUSE GOD HAS GIVEN it to us.

  430. >> Right?

  431. >> Notice that little phrase in verse 22.

  432. or things to come. Notice it again. All

  433. hour are yours. You say, "Preacher, what

  434. does this mean?" What does this mean?

  435. You say, "Preacher, I can't have

  436. everything." No, you're not going to

  437. have everything,

  438. but you can have everything God wants

  439. you to have.

  440. >> Amen.

  441. >> Well, ain't that good, Brother Leon?

  442. >> I don't want nothing else than what God

  443. wants me to have.

  444. >> Amen. He says, "All things are yours."

  445. And that all things is everything

  446. >> that God wants me to have.

  447. >> You know these young people, right? I

  448. may not even get to the message. Amen. I

  449. may not even get there.

  450. >> Everything that God has for your life,

  451. you can have it.

  452. >> Amen.

  453. >> That's right.

  454. >> You can have the ble I'm not talking

  455. about money. I'm not talking about jobs.

  456. I'm not talking about an education. I'm

  457. talking about the blessedness of knowing

  458. God, the ministry of serving Jesus. And

  459. I'm going to butcher this outline. Amen.

  460. But the Bible tells us right there in

  461. the verse. Look what HE SAYS. ALL ARE

  462. YOURS. WHAT IS IT FOR? WHY do we have

  463. all of this?

  464. Because he has given us the provision

  465. >> to live for him.

  466. >> Yes. Amen.

  467. >> He wants you to choose him. He wants you

  468. to serve him. And therefore, he says all

  469. is yours. Amen.

  470. >> You're right.

  471. >> It's all yours.

  472. >> Amen.

  473. >> I'm telling you.

  474. >> And if that's not good enough, all

  475. right, if that's not good enough, notice

  476. verse 23. The glory we are to reject the

  477. gift that we have received. But notice

  478. the grace that we have realized. Verse

  479. 23. And ye are Christ.

  480. >> Amen.

  481. >> You know, it's not so much about the

  482. possessions that you have.

  483. >> Come on. as it is about the possession

  484. that you are.

  485. >> Yes. Amen.

  486. >> Amen.

  487. >> Who you are, Amen. matters more than

  488. what you have.

  489. >> You're right.

  490. >> But oh friend, because of who you are,

  491. >> is why you have what you have this

  492. morning.

  493. >> Amen.

  494. >> As a child of God, I am heir and joint

  495. heir with Jesus Christ to everything,

  496. ALL OF IT, FOR ALL ETERNITY. IT BELONGS

  497. TO ME. WHY IS THAT? BECAUSE HE OWNS IT.

  498. AND BECAUSE HE OWNS IT, HE OWNS ME AND I

  499. OWN IT ALL. AMEN. IN HIM.

  500. >> AMEN.

  501. >> And ye are Christ. Grace that we have

  502. realized we have, we possess all things,

  503. but we are a possession

  504. >> of Jesus Christ.

  505. >> And you are Christ and Christ is God's.

  506. We are secure in the person of Jesus

  507. Christ. Two things this morning. And

  508. we're five minutes till 12, but that's

  509. all right.

  510. Notice first of all in our text verse

  511. number one, notice the measure of their

  512. standing in our text. You said,

  513. "Preacher, what does this have to do

  514. with stewardship?"

  515. Well, to be a steward, you've got to

  516. have put something put in your trust.

  517. >> You're right.

  518. >> This is what I love about stewardship.

  519. All right, I'm going to get on my

  520. outline here just a little bit, but it'd

  521. be all right. You know what the thing

  522. about a steward is?

  523. He can be given the wealth of the world.

  524. I mean, of all the world. And it doesn't

  525. really belong to him.

  526. >> You're right.

  527. >> But it's in his power to do with it what

  528. he wants to.

  529. >> Yeah.

  530. >> Listen to me, young people. You have

  531. been given the wealth of all eternity.

  532. >> Right.

  533. >> And it doesn't belong to you. You said,

  534. "Preacher, well, you just said it's all

  535. yours." Here's the truth about it. All

  536. right. It doesn't belong to you, but God

  537. has entrusted it to you and says it's

  538. yours.

  539. >> You're right. That's good. Come on.

  540. >> And so here's the here's the thing about

  541. that. Okay, I've not got time to preach

  542. this this morning. Y'all pray for me.

  543. All right. The measure of our standing

  544. is what we do with what God has given

  545. >> right

  546. >> to us. Notice what your Bible says.

  547. First of all, the measure of their

  548. standing is found number one in their

  549. ministry. Verse number one, let a man so

  550. account of us as of what? The ministers

  551. of Christ. You see the ministry that the

  552. child of God possesses is the ministry

  553. of Jesus Christ. What is that ministry?

  554. It is declaring the gospel. It is

  555. dispelling the enemy. Amen. It is

  556. declaring the gospel. It is dispelling

  557. the doctrine of the enemy and drawing

  558. near to God. He says we are ministers of

  559. Christ. What are we doing? We are

  560. serving Jesus.

  561. >> Amen.

  562. >> We are servants. Notice that word

  563. ministers. That literally means a

  564. servant. That means number one, I would

  565. say this ministry has been delegated to

  566. us. Amen. We're service. Okay, I'm going

  567. to get somewhere with this. All right,

  568. stay with me. We've been delegate. We've

  569. had the ministry delegated to us. We've

  570. been given direction in this ministry.

  571. God has delegated us the ministry, but

  572. he has given us direction in the

  573. ministry. And what is that direction in

  574. the ministry? It is defined in that one

  575. word in verse number one, Christ. Amen.

  576. >> Remember what Paul said? He said, "For

  577. me to live is what?"

  578. >> Christ.

  579. >> And to die is gain.

  580. >> Right?

  581. >> You see, our life is summed up in one

  582. word, Christ.

  583. >> Amen.

  584. >> He has delegated us authority. He has

  585. given us direction. And he has defined

  586. our ministry in Christ.

  587. >> Right?

  588. >> What did Paul say in the book of

  589. Philippians? He said let this mind which

  590. let this mind be in you which was also

  591. in Christ Jesus. So our purpose is found

  592. in Jesus. You see their ministry. You

  593. see their management in verse number

  594. one. Look what the Bible says. Let a man

  595. so account of us or the measure that

  596. accounting is the measure. And so he

  597. says we're as the ministers. Our

  598. ministry is of Christ. And then our

  599. management. Notice what he says and

  600. stewards. And stewards of the mysteries

  601. of God. Now what does that mean? Well,

  602. this management here shows that there's

  603. been a revelation. Something has been

  604. placed in their trusts. And so, because

  605. of that revelation, they have a

  606. responsibility. Something they have, it

  607. belongs to them. And then out of that

  608. responsibility, there is a rendering

  609. that they are to share that. And what is

  610. it? Notice the mystery in verse number

  611. one. He said, "We're stewards of the

  612. mysteries of God." What are these

  613. mysteries? Well, Paul here reveals in

  614. these chapters of the word of God

  615. through his epistles. He reveals the

  616. mystery of the cross in 2 Corinthians

    2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention

  617. chapter 5 verse number 15 and verse

  618. number 19. He said there in the text, he

  619. said, "If one died for all, then we're

  620. all dead." Amen. And it was the cross

  621. was the mystery of salvation of those

  622. that would believe. That's what he said

  623. in Romans 1 and verse 16. For I am not

  624. ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for

  625. it's the power of God and the salvation

  626. to everyone that believeth to the Jew

  627. first and also to the Greek. He says

  628. again in Galatians chapter 3 and verse

    Galatians 3 chapter mention

  629. number 13. I'm going to turn there and

  630. read these verses. Amen. I hope y'all

  631. ain't in no hurry. Amen. Galatians

    Galatians 3:13

  632. chapter 3 verse 13, Christ hath redeemed

  633. us from the curse of the law, being made

  634. a curse for us. For it is written,

  635. cursed is everyone that hangeth on a

  636. tree. And he says in verse number 19,

  637. wherefore then serveth the law, it was

  638. added because of the transgressions till

  639. the seed should come to whom the promise

  640. was made. And it was ordained by angels

  641. in the hand of a mediator. I'm saying

  642. God has promised us the cross. Ephesians

  643. chapter number two verse number 16.

  644. Listen to what he says. And that he

  645. might reconcile both unto God in one

  646. body by the cross, having slain the

  647. enmity thereby, and came and preached

  648. peace to you which were far off and to

  649. them that were nigh. For through him we

  650. both have access by one spirit unto the

  651. father. You see, the Jews didn't

  652. understand the cross. They thought they

  653. were killing a false teacher. But Paul

  654. looked back and said it was a mystery.

  655. God was bringing deliverance and

  656. bringing salvation to the world of lost

  657. people so that they could be saved. It

  658. was the mystery of the cross. He brought

  659. not only the mystery of the cross, but

  660. he brought the mystery of the church.

  661. Notice that in Ephesians chapter number

  662. three, Ephesians chapter number three.

  663. Listen to what he says concerning the

  664. church. He gives this mystery in three

  665. different places. Notice chapter number

  666. three and verse number nine. Listen to

  667. what he says. And to make all men see

  668. what is the fellowship of the mystery

  669. which from the beginning of the world

  670. hath been hid in God who created all

  671. things by Jesus Christ to the intent

  672. that now under the principalities and

  673. powers in heavenly places might be known

  674. by the church the manifold wisdom of God

  675. according to the eternal purpose which

  676. he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  677. That is the church. Listen to what he

  678. says in chapter five and verse number

  679. verse number 30. Listen to what he says.

  680. For we are members of his body and of

  681. his flesh and of his bones. For this

  682. cause shall a man leave his father and

  683. mother and shall be joined unto his wife

  684. and they two shall be one flesh. This is

  685. a great mystery. But I speak concerning

  686. Christ and the church.

  687. >> Right?

  688. >> Paul revealed the cross. Paul revealed

  689. the church.

  690. >> Right? He revealed the church in

  691. Colossians chapter 1 and verse number

    Colossians 1 chapter mention

  692. 18. But I'll say this, he also revealed

  693. the coming of the Lord in the rapture.

  694. >> 1 Corinthians 15:51-53.

    1 Corinthians 15:51–53

  695. You know the verses. 1 Thessalonians

    1 Thessalonians 4:13–18

  696. 4:13-18.

  697. Paul revealed these mysteries. You say,

  698. "Preacher, what does this have to do

  699. with us?" Well, the ministry that we've

  700. been given is a ministry of management.

  701. >> You're right. Amen.

  702. >> What is that management of? It's a

  703. management of the mysteries.

  704. the mysteries. You say, "Preacher, but

  705. they're not mysteries now." That's

  706. exactly right.

  707. >> Yes.

  708. >> We've been given them.

  709. >> Amen.

  710. >> We know about the cross. It's the

  711. gospel.

  712. >> Jesus died. He was buried. And he rose

  713. again the third day. We know about the

  714. church that it was the promise that God

  715. would send the church of the living God

  716. so that he his people could know his

  717. word. And then the promise of the fact

  718. that he would come again. We have been

  719. given, we've been entrusted. The measure

  720. of their standing is what they do with

  721. these mysteries. Now, isn't this

  722. interesting? Notice our verse this

  723. morning. I'm going I'll be done here in

  724. just a minute. You see, the measure of

  725. their standing. It's seen in the

  726. ministry. It's seen in their management.

  727. It's seen in the mysteries. But it's

  728. notice also here the mandate of their

  729. stewardship in verse two. Moreover, it

  730. is required in stewards that a man be

  731. found faithful. That word moreover there

  732. in verse number two means furthermore or

  733. to add to. And he says here in this

  734. verse, if they are servants of the

  735. father, that they're ministers of Christ

  736. and stewards of the faith of the

  737. mysteries of God, it stands that they

  738. must be faithful. You're

  739. >> right.

  740. >> Let me ask you something this morning.

  741. If you were given the trust to take care

  742. of an a account or a estate that was

  743. worth millions and billions of dollars,

  744. don't you think that that person that

  745. would give that to you would make sure

  746. that you were trustworthy

  747. >> to handle it?

  748. >> Far greater than the estate of the

  749. richest millionaire and billionaire in

  750. the world.

  751. >> Come on. The gospel that we've been

  752. entrusted holds the key to eternity.

  753. You're

  754. >> right.

  755. >> For a lost and dying world.

  756. >> And he says, "Moreover, furthermore, it

  757. is required in stewards that a man be

  758. found faith." Now, I want you to notice

  759. this. All right? And I'll be done. I

  760. would say first of all, you see that

  761. there's a standard that's upheld. Verse

  762. two. Moreover, it is required. Now, we

  763. don't like that word, but I'll say this.

  764. Your salvation did reccome with a

  765. requirement.

  766. >> You're right.

  767. >> You say, "Preacher, I thought it was by

  768. grace through faith, not of works."

  769. Said, "Man, you're right. It's not." But

  770. you know what? After you get saved,

  771. there's a requirement.

  772. >> That's right.

  773. >> You see, you've been made a steward. And

  774. with that stewardship comes a standard

  775. that you can't remove from. You say,

  776. "Preacher, what if I don't follow it?"

  777. Well, if you was here for Sunday school

  778. this morning, you would know that you

  779. would have no rewards.

  780. >> You're right.

  781. You would have no opportunity to have

  782. anything. The estate would be taken from

  783. you. You say, "Preacher, has heaven be

  784. taken away?" No, but the works, the

  785. glory of the works of living for God in

  786. this life would be removed. You would

  787. have nothing to offer Jesus. You're

  788. >> right.

  789. >> And so, the standard is upheld. You say,

  790. you say, "Preacher, what is that

  791. standard?" Well, I think about there

  792. Philippians chapter 2:es 5-8. You know,

  793. the the ministry of Christ. Peter said

  794. it this way. He said, "For even here

  795. unto were you called." See, there's a

  796. there's a requirement. And who who's the

  797. standard? You say, "Preacher, well, if

  798. there's a standard, who sets the

  799. standard?" Jesus.

  800. >> Amen.

  801. >> You see, the Bible says that we are

  802. called to follow in his steps. And he

  803. was a steward of God's will and God's

  804. word and God's work. And you know what?

  805. He did it all perfectly. You're

  806. >> right.

  807. >> And so, you know what he is? He's the

  808. standard.

  809. >> You're right.

  810. >> The requirement is that we be like him.

  811. >> Yes. Then there's not only here the

  812. standard that's upheld, but then there's

  813. the search that's undergone in verse

  814. two. Moreover, it's required in stewards

  815. that a man be found.

  816. Found faithful. You see, the standard is

  817. seen, but there's going to be somebody

  818. that comes around looking to see if the

  819. standard is upheld in your life. You

  820. see, this search that's undergone in the

  821. text. And I I love the way the Apostle

  822. Paul, he says this in one place. He

  823. says, "If we would judge ourselves, we

  824. wouldn't be judged."

  825. >> You're right.

  826. >> Problem is, in this day and time, we we

  827. Christians say, "Well, I'm going to let

  828. Jesus do my judging. I'm going to let

  829. Jesus judge me. You can't judge me. You

  830. can't say I'm wrong. You can't say I'm

  831. not doing right or I should do this or I

  832. should do that." The truth is, you're

  833. going to stand before him one of these

  834. days. You're going to wish you'd

  835. listened.

  836. >> You're right.

  837. >> Because he's going to speak from that

  838. book right there.

  839. >> You're right. And when it comes down to

  840. the truth of this text here, there is a

  841. search that is undergone. You see, for a

  842. child of God, this will not just be a

  843. requirement, but it will be a request.

  844. You say, "How is it? How why would I

  845. request someone to search me?" Listen to

  846. what David said. Psalm 139.

  847. Listen to what David said. Psalm 139:23

    Psalms 139:23

  848. and 24. Search me, oh God, and know my

  849. heart. Yeah.

  850. >> Try me and know my thoughts

  851. >> and see if there be any wicked way in

  852. me.

  853. >> Right.

  854. >> And lead me in the way everlasting.

  855. >> You see, the heart of a true child of

  856. God is not going to wait until they get

  857. to the judgment to ask Christ, "WELL,

  858. DID I DO RIGHT, LORD? DID I DO RIGHT?"

  859. NO. EVERY DAY, EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY

  860. IN OUR HEART, there's a desire. There's

  861. a burning. THERE'S A YEARNING INSIDE

  862. GOD. AM I DOING WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO BE

  863. DOING? THERE'S A CONSTANT SEARCH THAT IS

  864. BEING UNDERTAKEN IN OUR LIFE TO MAKE

  865. SURE THAT GOD IS PLEASED with how we're

  866. handling the estate that we've been

  867. dealing.

  868. >> Right?

  869. >> You see, this is the request of a true

  870. servant. But most or many children of

  871. God will never be what God intended them

  872. to be because they're unwilling to be

  873. searched.

  874. >> You're right.

  875. If you are unwilling to let God open

  876. your heart and and and do open HEART

  877. SURGERY AND TAKE OUT WHAT NEEDS TO BE

  878. REMOVED AND PUT IN WHAT NEEDS TO BE PUT

  879. IN, YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE BLESSING.

  880. >> You're right.

  881. >> Of knowing what it is to be a true

  882. steward.

  883. >> You see here in this text there is the

  884. standard that's up pay the service that

  885. is un undergone. But notice the

  886. sincerity that's unveiled in verse two.

  887. It's required in stewards that a man be

  888. found faithful.

  889. >> You see, the standard of stewardship is

  890. summed up in one word,

  891. >> faithfulness.

  892. And I want to ask you one question this

  893. morning.

  894. If we were to stand at the judgment seat

  895. today

  896. in 2025, would your stewardship been

  897. pleasing

  898. and fit the bill of that right there?

  899. You see, if you've been saved, God has

  900. entrusted you the riches of the grace of

  901. God for all eternity.

  902. >> Right?

  903. And if you can look back over the last

  904. year and you just see nothing but a

  905. bunch of unfaithfulness,

  906. what would it be if you stood before him

  907. tomorrow?

  908. >> Good.

  909. >> You see, the truth is about our life,

  910. and I said this at the beginning of the

  911. message, and I'm going to say it again.

  912. The truth of scripture is that faith is

  913. never seen. I can't show you how much I

  914. believe God literally,

  915. >> right? But I hope that you know that I

  916. believe God

  917. >> by the sermons that I preach and the

  918. life that I TRY TO LIVE. HEY, I BELIEVE

  919. GOD. I BELIEVE GOD AND IT'S SEEN NOT IN

  920. MY FAITH. IT'S NOT VISIBLE BUT MY

  921. faithfulness

  922. >> to him.

  923. >> Right?

  924. >> Let me ask you who look who can look at

  925. your life say that person believes God.

  926. >> That's good.

  927. >> You see there's a difference. Notice

  928. notice that in verse two. Moreover, it's

  929. required in stewards that a man be found

  930. faithful. It's a requirement. And why is

  931. it that so many of us live as if it does

  932. not even matter,

  933. that we will never have to answer for

  934. our decisions, that we will never have

  935. to respond to judgment being passed upon

  936. us. Hey, I'm telling you this morning,

  937. if you do not pattern your life after

  938. that Bible right there, you will stand

  939. one of these DAYS AND YOU WILL SUFFER

  940. LOSS.

  941. >> YOU'RE RIGHT.

  942. >> You will. You say, "Preacher, well, my

  943. family's all right. We're doing okay.

  944. We're getting by. We're trying to serve

  945. the Lord the best that we can. And you

  946. know what? You might make it through

  947. this life bouncing and beating along the

  948. way. And by the skin of your teeth, you

  949. might make it by. But you know what? One

  950. of these days, you get to the judgment,

  951. you're not going to have nothing to

  952. give."

  953. >> You're right.

  954. >> And I told him this this morning. I'm

  955. going to tell you the same thing as the

  956. pianist comes this morning. She's

  957. probably Well, I don't know. She's gone.

  958. All right. So, she's on the way. Amen.

  959. I told him this this morning. You know

  960. what? I'd be ashamed

  961. to live my life and do what God called

  962. me to do my entire life and get to the

  963. judgment seat and walk through that fire

  964. and it all burn up.

  965. >> Right.

  966. >> You see, because it's not just about

  967. what we do.

  968. >> You're right.

  969. >> I knew I was going to come back to this.

  970. >> Come on.

  971. >> It's not just about what we do. It's not

  972. just about how we do it, but it's about

  973. why.

  974. >> Why? Why are you at church this morning?

  975. >> Come on.

  976. >> Are you trying to make yourself feel

  977. better?

  978. Let's be honest.

  979. Let me tell you how you can feel better

  980. is get saved.

  981. >> Amen.

  982. >> Turning over a new leaf ain't going to

  983. fix it.

  984. >> Right.

  985. >> You say, "Preacher, well, this time I'm

  986. going to do it right." Well, the last 25

  987. times didn't fix it.

  988. >> You're right.

  989. >> Moreover, it's required. Furthermore,

  990. it's required. IT'S A STANDARD. IT IS

  991. SET IN STONE that stewards

  992. must be

  993. must be not an option.

  994. Must be found faithful.

  995. And I want to ask you this this morning

  996. as every heads bowed and every eyes

  997. closed.

  998. You say, "Preacher, what am I a steward

  999. of?" Well, you remember what we said

1000. there a little while ago? All things are

  1001. yours.

  1002. Every person,

  1003. every place,

1004. every provision that God has given you,

1005. you are a steward of that.

1006. And you can allow it to do one of two

1007. things. It can either benefit you

1008. or it can hinder you.

1009. And you could never do anything for God

1010. because you choose to allow what belongs

  1011. to you rightfully

1012. to hinder you from knowing the one that

  1013. gave it to you.

1014. There is nothing more important in this

  1015. life

1016. than doing the will of God.

1017. It might cost you everything.

1018. Let me tell you this. I can promise you

1019. it'll cost you even more if you don't.

1020. If you refuse to do the will of God, if

1021. you refuse to do what God asks you to

1022. do, I'm saying you are a steward this

1023. morning. And the standard of stewardship

  1024. is faithfulness.

1025. If you're a member of this church, you

  1026. are responsible

1027. to be faithful to this church.

1028. You are responsible to serve. You are

  1029. responsible to stand

  1030. and stay.

1031. God has given you a ministry. God has

1032. allowed you to serve him and you are a

  1033. steward of that ministry.

1034. If you manage it improperly, it will

  1035. show

1036. the mysteries that we've been given.

1037. The wonder of knowing is the cross

1038. that we can go there. We went there in

1039. salvation and we go there continually in

  1040. prayer.

1041. We have the opportunity to come to

  1042. church.

1043. And if we do not attend

1044. the cross to the church and we are not

1045. attendant to the fact that he's coming

1046. again, he'll come and we'll be unaware.

1047. Let me ask you this morning. All right.

  1048. You say, "Preacher, I don't

  1049. preacher, I I don't know what you're

  1050. talking about. Stewardship. I don't

1051. understand that, preacher. I really just

1052. don't even know where all this starts."

1053. Let me tell you where it starts. It

  1054. starts at Calvary.

  1055. >> Amen.

1056. >> That mystery that's been revealed. You

1057. see, that's the place where you can know

1058. Jesus for the first time. It's the

1059. cross. It's where he died. It's where

1060. salvation was purchased. His blood was

1061. shed for your sin. And your sin

1062. separates from you you from God unless

  1063. you have his blood.

1064. The Bible says if we confess our sins,

1065. God is faithful and just to forgive us

1066. our sins and to cleanse us from all

  1067. unrighteousness.

1068. He'll forgive you today. Let me ask you,

1069. nobody's looking around but me. Say,

  1070. "Preacher, I'm not saved. Preacher, I

  1071. don't know the Lord."

1072. Slip your hand up. I want to pray for

1073. you. Preacher, I'm not saved.

1074. Anybody be honest between you and God?

1075. Preacher, I'm not saved. Let me ask you

1076. this. You said, "Preacher, I am saved.

1077. But preacher, if I live the way that I

1078. lived last year, I don't know that God

1079. will let me live the rest of this year,

1080. preacher, my sin." Yes. God sees that.

  1081. God sees that.

1082. God sees that. Church, are you praying?

1083. Let me ask you today. Let me ask you,

1084. hey, he's not obligated to deal with you

  1085. forever.

1086. But let me say this. While he is dealing

1087. with you right now, you you can make

  1088. that thing right.

1089. Maybe you didn't raise your hand this

1090. morning. You're here living in sin. Hey,

1091. get that thing straightened out.

1092. Get right with God, child of God. Time's

1093. too short. Life's too short. Hey, you

1094. don't know. Tomorrow may never come for

1095. you. Tomorrow may never come for any of

  1096. us.

1097. >> Jesus may come. And I'll tell you this,

1098. if you're saved BY THE GRACE OF GOD,

1099. YOU'LL BE WITH HIM. But that judgment

  1100. seat,

1101. man, I'm telling you, I'd hate to stand

  1102. before him

  1103. knowing I'd done nothing.

1104. >> Knowing I had nothing to offer him,

1105. >> thinking that I'd done something in

1106. myself. Hey friend, if I have anything

1107. to give to him, IT'LL BE WHAT HE'S GIVEN

  1108. TO ME.

1109. >> Cuz in salvation, in service,

1110. in all of that, it's all him.

  1111. But he says,

  1112. "All things are yours."

1113. Let me ask you, what are you going to do

  1114. with all things?

1115. It's all yours for your benefit this

  1116. morning.

1117. Father, I pray in Jesus name.

1118. Lord, these that are not right with you

1119. this morning, I pray they'd get right

  1120. with you.

1121. Lord, they've lived in sin long enough.

1122. Why don't they come get right today?

1123. Lord, please help them get out of their

  1124. seat.

1125. Lord, they've not been faithful steward

1126. of what you've given to them.

1127. And Lord, I pray for all of us, God.

1128. That we would do more this year for your

1129. glory and honor. That we would go

  1130. further.

1131. That we would go higher for you

1132. than we've ever been before.

  1133. Lord, that there'd be a work that's seen

1134. in our lives because of our

  1135. faithfulness.

1136. Lord, I ask that you would help us.

1137. Please, Father, I pray in Jesus name.

  1138. Amen.
