  1. Welcome to the podcast of Meadows

  2. Baptist Church of Walnut Cove, North

  3. Carolina. We're so glad you joined us

  4. today. If you enjoy today's message, be

  5. sure to subscribe, follow, and share

  6. with your friends. Now, let's join

  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God.

  9. Amen. Take God's word tonight. Turn with

  10. me to the book of Psalms. Psalm division

  11. number 90. If you would please, when you

  12. find your place, if you would stand.

  13. Honor reverence for the reading of God's

  14. word,

  15. Psalm division number 90. And uh I just

  16. want to say to you church, I hadn't

  17. preached out in a while until here this

  18. just this past week. Preached there in

  19. that watch night service. And I was

  20. telling somebody uh this morning, I love

  21. Brother Howard and I love their church,

  22. but I'll tell you what, there's nothing

  23. like this place

  24. >> and I love preaching here and I preached

  25. in a lot of churches than my eight

  26. years, a little over eight years of

  27. preaching. And there's nowhere I'd

  28. rather preach than here. And I'm so

  29. thankful for that. There's some

  30. preachers that pastor their church and

  31. they have to endure it until they get uh

  32. to go out and preach somewhere else. And

  33. I'm thankful that it's not that way.

  34. Amen. And God sure has been good to us

  35. here. And if I could say anything to you

  36. as your pastor, I don't know much, but

  37. let's keep it that way. Amen. And keep

  38. the liberty here and the presence of

  39. God. And it sure was good to have sister

  40. Donna back playing for us again tonight.

  41. And Miss Melody's done such a good job.

  42. I'm going to be I'll talk to them in the

  43. days to come. Ain't it good to have

  44. talent?

  45. >> Amen.

  46. >> In the house of God. And uh we're

  47. blessed with that. Sister Amber and all

  48. these ladies have stepped up and really

  49. helped. And I appreciate that. I'm glad

  50. Miss Donna's making a full recovery.

  51. Amen. And you continue to pray for her.

  52. The Lord will touch her.

  53. >> And I sure appreciate each one of you.

  54. I'll tell you this, it wouldn't be the

  55. church without you. And we come in here

  56. and I can sit and look at empty pews,

  57. but without you, it wouldn't be wouldn't

  58. be the church. Amen. And I appreciate

  59. you. Psalm number 90, I want to read the

  60. whole chapter tonight if I may. Uh just

  61. 17 verses here. We'll look at these.

  62. They're pretty short. Let's read them.

  63. Read them tonight. Verse number one,

  64. Psalm number 90. If you found your

  65. place, say amen. Amen.

  66. >> Bible says here, Lord, thou has been our

  67. dwelling place in all generations.

  68. Before the mountains were brought forth,

  69. orever thou hast formed the earth and

  70. the world, even from everlasting to

  71. everlasting, thou art God. Thou turnest

  72. man to destruction, and sayest, "Return,

  73. ye children of men. For a thousand years

  74. in thy sight, are but as yesterday, when

  75. it is passed, and as a watch in the

  76. night, thou carest them away as with the

  77. flood. They are asleep in the morning.

  78. They are like grass which growth up. In

  79. the morning it flourisheth and growth

  80. up. In the evening it is cut down and

  81. witherth. For we are consumed by thine

  82. anger and by thy wrath are we troubled.

  83. Thou has set our iniquities before thee.

  84. Our secret sins in the light of thy

  85. countenance. For all our days are passed

  86. away in thy wrath. We spend our years as

  87. a tale that is told. The days of our

  88. years are three score years and 10. And

  89. if by reason of strength they be four

  90. score years, yet is their strength labor

  91. and sorrow. for it is soon cut off and

  92. we fly away. Who knoweth the power of

  93. thine anger, even according to thy fear,

  94. so is thy wrath. So teach us to number

  95. our days that we may apply our hearts

  96. unto wisdom. Return, O Lord, how long?

  97. Let it repent thee concerning thy

  98. servants. Oh, satisfy us early with thy

  99. mercy that we may rejoice and be glad

  100. all our days. Make us glad according to

  101. the days wherein thou hast afflicted us

  102. and the years wherein we have seen evil.

  103. Let thy work appear unto thy servants,

  104. and thy glory unto their children. And

  105. let the beauty of the Lord our God be

  106. upon us, and establish thou the work of

  107. our hands upon us. Yay, the work of our

  108. hands, establish thou it. Our father, I

  109. come before you tonight and I ask humbly

  110. that you would help me this evening.

  111. God, I stand in a place where I cannot

  112. stand alone and I do not want to stand

  113. alone tonight. And Lord, I pray that you

  114. would remove every sin from me, cleanse

  115. me of flesh, God. And I pray you'd bind

  116. the devil, and uh you would help us

  117. tonight. Help us to uh receive with

  118. meekness the engrafted word. Fill us

  119. with thy spirit, cloak us in our

  120. calling, and uh use us for your glory

  121. and honor alone tonight. And I pray,

  122. God, that you'll calm my nerves here for

  123. just a minute and help me to preach this

  124. tonight and share this truth with these

  125. precious people that I love so much. And

  126. God, I ask you that you would help us in

  127. these days. Bless this year, God. have

  128. your hand upon our church and save many

  129. lost souls and get glory to yourself.

  130. And we'll be sure to thank you for what

  131. you do because you alone are worthy of

  132. all glory and honor and power. And we

  133. ask it all in Jesus name. Amen. Thank

  134. you for standing. You can be seated this

  135. evening. One of you boys over there, if

  136. y'all don't mind, y'all step back there

  137. and get me a water, please. I appreciate

  138. it. Amen. I was looking here in this

  139. text, praying about the service this

  140. evening, praying what God would have us

  141. to say. And uh I was thinking about

  142. these verses now, it's been I guess it's

  143. probably been 3 years since I preached

  144. this. Actually, it's been 5 years. I

  145. preached this January the 1st of 2021 on

  146. a New Year's Day service. And I preached

  147. it standing in the portico of a church

  148. in Mount Air, North Carolina because of

  149. COVID. Amen. And I remember preaching

  150. this message and the Lord laid this

  151. thought on my heart. We've come a long

  152. way since CO. Hallelujah for that. Amen.

  153. and uh it's going to be the next thing

  154. that comes around. Amen. But I was

  155. thinking about this text here and and

  156. the thought is verse number 12. If you

  157. notice verse 12, you've probably heard

  158. this verse before. Notice what he says

  159. there. He says, "So teach us to number

  160. our days that we may apply our hearts

  161. under wisdom." And I preached this this

  162. little thought here on making every day

  163. count or how to make every day count.

  164. See, understand our life. James says

  165. it's but a vapor that appearth for a

  166. little time then vanishth away. And so

  167. if we're given only a loted amount of

  168. time, if there's a day of our birth and

  169. a day of our death that God already

  170. knows about both of them, we ought to do

  171. our very best, dead level best to make

  172. the most of the days in between.

  173. Somebody say amen. And I was thinking

  174. about this text. Now, you notice if your

  175. Bible's got a heading in it over this

  176. chapter, you'll note that this is a

  177. psalm of Moses. Now, we think most of

  178. the time of the Psalms, we think of

  179. David. We think of Asaf. We think of

  180. Solomon. We think of many people. But

  181. most time when you consider the Psalms,

  182. you don't think about Moses. But this

  183. psalm really we believe to be the oldest

  184. psalm that is recorded. God bless your

  185. heart, my friend. Thank you. My sight

  186. was going away while I was reading the

  187. scripture.

  188. >> And so this is a psalm of Moses. All

  189. right. And Moses here in this text, what

  190. this this time period in which this is

  191. recorded is Moses is looking at the

  192. children of Israel at the end of the

  193. wilderness wanderings.

  194. >> 38 years have passed more than likely

  195. here and Moses is viewing the children

  196. of Israel. He is looking upon them and

  197. what is he seeing? He's seeing death.

  198. You see, there was a generation that had

  199. to die off completely before the

  200. children of Israel could enter into

  201. Canaan land. You think about this. Moses

  202. was one of those Moses and those others

  203. that refused to believe the command of

  204. the Lord. They were all going to have to

  205. die before Joshua and Caleb and the

  206. children could enter into the land. And

  207. so Moses is viewing here the children of

  208. Israel. And he is seeing that they are

  209. dying. He's seeing that their life is

  210. being cut short. And in this chapter, I

  211. want you to notice here, first of all,

  212. by way of introduction tonight, the

  213. Bible says in verse number one, Moses

  214. says, "Lord, thou has been our dwelling

  215. place in all generations." Now, I think

  216. it's fitting to understand the context

  217. that Moses is talking to a people who

  218. are dwelling in tents in the wilderness.

  219. They have no permanent abode. The place

  220. where they were supposed to go, they've

  221. not made it there because of their

  222. unbelief. But even in the wilderness,

  223. and I can say hallelujah for this

  224. tonight. He looks at th that crowd of

  225. people dwelling in tents and dwelling in

  226. tabernacles and the ark dwelling in the

  227. tabernacle in the wilderness. Amen. And

  228. he looks at them and he says, "Though

  229. we've got no dwelling place that's

  230. permanent. Though we've got no place to

  231. lay our head where we could stay for the

  232. rest of our life, as soon as we die, our

  233. children's going to go over." He said,

  234. "But even in spite of that, Lord, you

  235. have been our dwelling place throughout

  236. all generations." Amen. And I can say

  237. this, it does not matter where whether

  238. where you pill pillow your head tonight,

  239. God is your dwelling place. Amen. I

  240. notice in this text, I would say first

  241. of all, you know, the people of God in

  242. verse number one, look what he says.

  243. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place.

  244. Moses looks at the congregation of

  245. Israel, some two million people probably

  246. at this time they are in the wilderness

  247. and he looks at them and he says, "My

  248. family, the people that God brought out

  249. of Egypt, delivered us out of bondage

  250. and even while we were in Egypt, God was

  251. still our dwelling place. And now here

  252. in the wilderness in a place of

  253. desolation where we're being fed with

  254. mana and and we're being kept by the

  255. power of God each and every day. God has

  256. been our dwelling place. I wonder can

  257. you say that of your family tonight?

  258. That God has been your dwelling place. I

  259. note not only the people of God but the

  260. place that's in God in verse number one.

  261. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place,

  262. the place where we reside. And that

  263. brother preached there on this on that

  264. past Wednesday night. He preached out of

  265. Psalm 91 where he said in verse one, "He

  266. that dwelleth in the secret place of the

  267. most high shall abide under the shadow

  268. of the almighty." And I'm glad tonight

  269. as children of God, we have a dwelling

  270. place that's in God the Father. Amen. We

  271. are hidden under the shadow of his wing.

  272. And I'll say that it's much better than

  273. that. Amen. We're not under the shadow

  274. of his wing in the day of grace, but

  275. we're in his hand. Amen. And Bible says

  276. if God puts them if he take puts us in

  277. his hand no man's able to pluck them out

  278. of my father's hand. And so there is the

  279. people and there is the place. But then

  280. there is the position in verse one.

  281. Notice the text. Lord thou hast been our

  282. dwelling place. Notice this in all

  283. generations.

  284. Now when you look at that thought

  285. generations there, we would often think

  286. there of the of the lineages or every

  287. generation of man, every different

  288. family from the grandparents to their

  289. grandparents to their grandparents and

  290. so on and so forth. But it goes beyond

  291. that. That word generation is is not

  292. just talking about people, but it's

  293. talking about the literal revolving of

  294. time. That you see from eternity past

  295. unto eternity future that God is to be

  296. our dwelling place. The revolving of

  297. time. He said, "Lord, thou has been our

  298. dwelling place in all generations." You

  299. see, before Abraham ever left the of the

  300. Caldes, and while the godly line of Seth

  301. was still being raised there in that

  302. land before God ever called Abraham out

  303. unto himself, those men that followed

  304. God, and the Bible says they began to

  305. call upon the name of the Lord, every

  306. one of them, Amen, regardless of where

  307. they dwelt, their dwelling place was

  308. God. And their position was in God the

  309. Father.

  310. >> Right?

  311. >> Their dwelling place was God. And their

  312. position here is in every generation

  313. those that would call upon him were

  314. close to the father. And I notice in

  315. this text, you see Moses here is

  316. pointing out to the father first of all

  317. that he is their dwelling place. And I

  318. notice verse number two. Look what he

  319. says. Notice that first word of verse

  320. two before. You see Moses begins to

  321. remember. Now I want you to think about

  322. this with me for just a minute. Who

  323. wrote the first five books of the Bible?

  324. Moses did. Right? And so when we think

  325. about creation, when we think about the

  326. history, Amen, that goes all the way

  327. back to the Garden of Eden, Moses had

  328. been inspired by God to record those

  329. truths. And so hundreds of years after

  330. uh Adam and Eve had already died, Moses

  331. is pinning the truth of creation as well

  332. as the truth of their historical lineage

  333. and genealogy. And Moses goes even

  334. before Adam, even before creation, and

  335. look what he says in verse two. Before

  336. the mountains were brought forth, or

  337. ever thou hast formed the earth and the

  338. world, even from everlasting to

  339. everlasting, thou art God. You see, time

  340. is just an island

  341. >> in the sea of eternity.

  342. >> And where you and I live tonight is so

  343. small.

  344. It is so small that our mind could not

  345. conceive the smallalness of our day. You

  346. say, "What do you mean by that?" Well,

  347. as the size of an atom is to the size of

  348. the state of North Carolina, that is the

  349. size of your life in comparison with

  350. eternity.

  351. >> Right?

  352. >> You say, "Preacher, how in the world

  353. could you ever picture that?" Well, let

  354. me just say this to you. Eternity is

  355. forever.

  356. >> Amen.

  357. >> Eternity is forever. And I I really

  358. believe I don't think it's going to be

  359. too long before the Lord comes back.

  360. Amen. And if this earth is in existence,

  361. we know that it's been in existence some

  362. 67,000 years by the time chronology

  363. that's in the Bible. And so 67,000 years

  364. if God come backs to comes back

  365. tomorrow, we we've got seven years of

  366. tribulation, a thousand years of

  367. millennial kingdom. And so really, I

  368. mean, I'll be honest with you, I don't

  369. know if this thing will ever last over

  370. 10,000 years.

  371. I know y'all look at me like I'm crazy

  372. right now,

  373. >> but here's the truth. You see, eternity

  374. has no boundaries.

  375. >> Right.

  376. >> From the beginning of all beginnings,

  377. God has always been

  378. >> right.

  379. >> You see, and here's what we do. This is

  380. what I'm preaching on tonight concerning

  381. making every day count. Here's what we

  382. do. You see, we we try to put God in

  383. time.

  384. >> We try to pack God into our schedule and

  385. put God in time in our life. Well, God's

  386. going to show up about the time I'm

  387. about 25 after I've sewed my wild oats

  388. and done what I wanted to do and going

  389. to go on and live my own life. Then

  390. God's going to show up and bail me out

  391. and I'm going to get all right and

  392. settle down and have a family. Then I'm

  393. going to live out the rest of my days,

  394. 70, 80 years old and I'm going to die

  395. and go to heaven.

  396. You know, it'd scare you the read the

  397. way a lot of people think that. Amen.

  398. >> But here's the truth. You can't put God

  399. in time. You're

  400. >> right.

  401. >> But I'll tell you what you can do. You

  402. can put time in God.

  403. >> Yes. Amen.

  404. >> Say, "What do you mean, preacher?" Well,

  405. time is in God.

  406. >> You see, creation teaches us that

  407. nothing happens without a cause.

  408. >> What is that? The second law of

  409. thermodynamics. Amen. There has to be a

  410. cause. For every effect, there has to be

  411. a cause. And so, when creation took

  412. place, the causeless first cause was God

  413. the Father.

  414. >> Amen. Nobody caused him to exist. We

  415. didn't conceive him. in our mind. Adam

  416. didn't create him. Amen. The forefathers

  417. didn't think him up. Amen. BUT GOD

  418. EXISTED BEFORE THE WORLD EVER WAS. And

  419. Moses says it in verse two. Before the

  420. mountains were bought forth, OR EVER

  421. THOU HAST FORMED THE EARTH, EVEN FROM

  422. EVERLASTING UNTO EVERLASTING, thou art

  423. God

  424. >> perpetual

  425. forever, eternity. God exists outside

  426. the realm of time. And you say,

  427. "Preacher, well, what does that have to

  428. do with us living and making every day

  429. count?" Well, if you're going to learn

  430. how to make time valuable and used

  431. properly in your life, you're going to

  432. have to know the one that created time,

  433. >> right?

  434. >> Amen.

  435. >> Yeah.

  436. >> You see, Jesus interjected himself into

  437. this world as a man born. He was God in

  438. flesh. Amen. 33 and a half years he

  439. lived on this earth. and he accomplished

  440. what no man could do in a lifetime or

  441. thousands upon thousands of lifetimes.

  442. And you say, "Preacher, what does this

  443. have to do with me making every day

  444. count?" Well, I want to say three things

  445. and I'll give you three more things and

  446. I'll be done. All right?

  447. In this chapter, Moses describes here in

  448. the text number one, the wrath of God.

  449. He says in verse number three, "Thou

  450. turnest man to destruction, and sayest,

  451. return ye children of men." You see,

  452. because of sin, because of the

  453. destruction, the defilement of the

  454. children of Israel, God condemned them

  455. and their sin and he caused them to be

  456. destroyed in many places. Now, I'm not

  457. talking about permanent destruction, but

  458. they faced the consequences of their

  459. sin. You can look at other nations, the

  460. nation of Babylon, you can look back in

  461. the days of Icabad and see and the days

  462. of uh his name just left me. Amen. It's

  463. not Icabad. You know who I'm talking

  464. about. Amen. He built the tower of

  465. Babel. Nimrod. Amen. Nimrod. You can

  466. look at his days. You can look at the

  467. days of Noah and you'll find that every

  468. every nation that was destroyed by God

  469. was destroyed because of their sin. He

  470. says, "Thou turnest man to destruction

  471. and sayest, return." Verse number verse

  472. number seven, Moses says, "For we are

  473. consumed by thine anger, and by thy

  474. wrath are we troubled." the children of

  475. Israel because of their unbelief and

  476. their sin in the wilderness. They were

  477. troubled by the wrath of God. Verse

  478. number eight, our thou has set our

  479. iniquities before thee, our secret sins

  480. in the light of thy countenance. And

  481. just to remind you tonight, there's no

  482. sin that's hidden from the eyes of God.

  483. >> Verse number nine, for all our days are

  484. passed away in thy wrath. Notice this,

  485. we spend our years as a tale that is

  486. told. You see, their sin had brought

  487. shortness of days. You say, "How is

  488. that, preacher?" Well, you remember them

  489. patriarchs? They lived to be over 900

  490. years old,

  491. >> right?

  492. >> Methusela lived to be 969.

  493. I believe it was Jared that lived to be

  494. 962. Adam lived to be 930. I I can't

  495. remember all of them, but they lived

  496. over 900 years. Why was that? Because

  497. the curse had not come to a point they

  498. were not so wicked, amen, that they

  499. could not stand on this earth. What

  500. happened? because of the sinfulness of

  501. man, God shortened his days,

  502. >> right?

  503. >> Shortened it to 120 years. Find that in

  504. the book of Genesis. And now Moses is

  505. viewing a people that's not even living

  506. that long. He says in our text, notice

  507. what the Bible said in verse 10. The

  508. days of our years are three score years

  509. and 10. And if by reason of strength

  510. they be four score years, yet is their

  511. strength labor and sorrow, for it is

  512. soon cut off and we fly away. Three

  513. score years and 10 is 70 years. Four

  514. score years is 80 years. And notice what

  515. he says. He says if we live to be 80

  516. years, he says that strength that we get

  517. to make it those 80 years, it's labor

  518. and sorrow. It's painful. It's

  519. agonizing. Why? Because of the effects

  520. of sin.

  521. >> You see, IT'S THE WRATH OF GOD THAT'S

  522. brought this upon us. The reason why

  523. people don't live long is because of

  524. sin. You say, "Preacher, is it their

  525. direct sin?" No, not necessarily always,

  526. but it's because of sin generically,

  527. >> right?

  528. >> Sin in this world has condemned the

  529. human race to a short life.

  530. >> I know we don't like to talk about that,

  531. but it's the truth.

  532. >> The wrath of God. Look what he says in

  533. verse number 11. Who knoweth the power

  534. of thine anger? He said, who can measure

  535. the power of your wrath? Look what he

  536. says. Even according to thy fear, so is

  537. thy wrath great and heavy is the wrath

  538. of God. You say, "Preacher, what does

  539. this have to do with anything?" Well, if

  540. you're going to have a clear view of

  541. today and make every day count in your

  542. life, you're going to have to have a

  543. clear view of the wrath of God.

  544. >> Right?

  545. >> Say, "What is that, preacher?" Well,

  546. when you sin, you're going to have to

  547. realize there's punishment for that

  548. thing.

  549. >> Amen.

  550. >> Amen. You're going to have to remember

  551. God is holy and God is lovely and just

  552. and merciful and longsuffering, but he

  553. is also full of wrath and indignation.

  554. HE'S A JEALOUS GOD AND HE WILL NOT LET

  555. YOU continue in sin.

  556. There's the wisdom of God in verse 12

  557. down through verse 15 he says so teach

  558. us to number our days. Verse 13 he says

  559. Lord return. Verse 14 he says oh

  560. satisfies early with thy mercy. He is

  561. asking for everything that they need to

  562. in order to continue. You know the

  563. reason why we don't continue in this

  564. life. The reason why our ministry is not

  565. fruitful and our family is not faithful

  566. is because we don't ask. You're

  567. >> right.

  568. >> You ask not. You have not because you

  569. ask not.

  570. >> And he says in this text verse 14, "Oh,

  571. satisfy us early with thy mercy that

  572. what? That we may rejoice." Hey, you

  573. missing out on some joy?

  574. >> Are you asking for it? I know this is

  575. simple tonight, but this is the problem.

  576. This is the indictment against the

  577. church. We're not asking because we

  578. think we're okay. THAT'S WHAT THE

  579. LEADYIAN CHURCH AGE was described by. He

  580. said, "We're you're rich and increased

  581. with goods." He said, "But you know not

  582. that you're miserable, you're poor,

  583. you're blind, AND YOU'RE NAKED. WE'VE

  584. GOT NOTHING WITHOUT GOD."

  585. >> RIGHT?

  586. >> He asked for the wisdom of God. He has

  587. to understand the wrath of God. He has

  588. to see the work of God. Notice verse 16

  589. and 17. Let thy work appear unto thy

  590. servants, and thy glory unto their

  591. children. And let the beauty of the Lord

  592. our God be upon us, and establish thou

  593. the work of our hands upon us. Yay, the

  594. work of our hands established thou it.

  595. He asked for God to show them his work.

  596. Verse 16. But he also asked for God to

  597. bless their work.

  598. You see, it was a turning point in my

  599. life in the ministry when I realized

  600. that this was the way I needed to pray.

  601. Lord, show me what you're doing and then

  602. help me to get involved in it.

  603. >> Amen.

  604. >> We don't we don't we don't know about

  605. the the eternal. We don't know about the

  606. will of God because we're not asking.

  607. >> Right.

  608. And I want you to notice this. All

  609. right, I'm going get to the verse

  610. tonight and I'll be done. Verse 12, the

  611. summary of this entire text. Now, I've

  612. got a whole message, and I've left out

  613. everything that I preach in this message

  614. to give you these three points tonight.

  615. If you're going to make every day count

  616. this year or for the rest of your life,

  617. you're going to have to have three

  618. things. And it's found in verse 12.

  619. Verse number 12. It the key that unlocks

  620. a fruitful Christian life is found in

  621. verse 12. I would say number one tonight

  622. when you consider this thought of making

  623. every day count. Number one, there's

  624. going to have to be a witness in your

  625. life. Notice the first three words of

  626. verse 12. What's your Bible say? So

  627. teach us.

  628. You know what we're we have a der of in

  629. this land this day and time is a

  630. teachable spirit. Good.

  631. >> Young people know everything,

  632. >> right?

  633. >> I know. I is one of them.

  634. >> Can't talk to them. They got it all

  635. figured out.

  636. I'll be the first to tell you I don't

  637. know what I'm doing.

  638. >> Amen.

  639. >> If it wasn't for the grace of God, I

  640. wouldn't be able to get up and go to bed

  641. at night.

  642. >> Right.

  643. >> I'm saying in this text, he says, "So

  644. teach us." So, first of all, there's the

  645. witness. What is this witness? Well,

  646. it's the witness of the spirit.

  647. Notice that and notice the form in which

  648. it said. It said as a request.

  649. You I think about other scriptures. You

  650. remember the disciples asked Jesus. You

  651. remember what they said? Lord, teach us

  652. to pray.

  653. >> You know why people don't learn in this

  654. day and time? Because they're not asking

  655. for it.

  656. >> Right?

  657. >> There's not a request.

  658. You see, I and this is something I've

  659. learned from the older men of God that I

  660. have been around in recent days. This is

  661. what they've told me. They've said that

  662. as time has went on, the questions have

  663. gotten less and less and less. Church

  664. members don't come to him and ask

  665. questions. Church members only come to

  666. him with conflicts and problems and want

  667. the preacher to fix it.

  668. >> You're right.

  669. >> They don't ask questions. They're not

  670. trying to learn. They're just trying to

  671. get by. You're

  672. >> right.

  673. You see, the indictment against our land

  674. in this day and time is we're we're so

  675. full of knowledge, but we have no

  676. wisdom.

  677. >> We're so full of intellectualism that we

  678. have no INSPIRATION OF THE HOLY GHOST.

  679. HEY FRIEND, MEN AND WOMEN USED TO BE

  680. MOVED BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

  681. AND IT WAS WHAT DROVE THEM IN THEIR

  682. LIFE. Many of them didn't have AN EIGHTH

  683. GRADE EDUCATION, BUT THEY KNEW GOD AND

  684. THEY KNEW THE BIBLE AND THEY KNEW WHO

  685. JESUS WAS AND THEY KNOW MORE ABOUT LIFE

  686. THAN YOU AND I DO. IN this day and time,

  687. >> we've okayed EVERYTHING BECAUSE THERE'S

  688. NO WITNESS IN OUR LIFE. You say,

  689. "Preacher, how is it I'm saved and the

  690. Holy Ghost lives within?" Well, you tell

  691. me how is it that you're saved and the

  692. Holy Ghost lives within and there's no

  693. witness. I'll tell you why. You've

  694. grieved him,

  695. >> right?

  696. >> LIVING IN YOUR SIN AND LIVING IN YOUR

  697. SHAME, THE HOLY GHOST WILL NOT WORK

  698. WHERE dirtiness is.

  699. >> Right?

  700. >> And if you're GOING TO MAKE EVERY DAY

  701. COUNT, THAT'S THE FIRST PRIORITY. THAT

  702. THE HOLY GHOST HAVE PRIORITY IN YOUR

  703. life that he HAVE CONTROL. IT'S NOT

  704. ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU have of the Holy

  705. Ghost, but it's how much he has of you.

  706. You're

  707. >> right.

  708. >> You see our minds so consumed. You see,

  709. the Holy Ghost works in this this and

  710. I'm going to give the next point away,

  711. but he works in the will. You're

  712. >> right.

  713. >> He works in the will of man.

  714. >> And here's what we've done. This is what

  715. technology has done. Our will is so

  716. distracted. You're right.

  717. >> We are so influenced by the world. We

  718. literally have people who make millions

  719. upon millions upon millions of dollars

  720. making videos and they call themselves

  721. influencers.

  722. >> And you know what it's doing to our

  723. children? They don't have time to think

  724. about God.

  725. >> You're right.

  726. >> The witness of the Holy Ghost, he's

  727. quiet.

  728. It's a still small voice. IT'S NOT IT'S

  729. NOT LOUD and boisterous. The enemy, he's

  730. loud and boisterous. And boy, when you

  731. get saved, you'll meet him and he'll be

  732. real loud in your life. Tell you you're

  733. worth nothing and you don't mean

  734. anything to this world and you might as

  735. well just take your life. Nobody cares

  736. about you anyway. That's the enemy.

  737. Amen.

  738. >> But I'll tell you this, the Holy Ghost

  739. >> is quiet.

  740. >> He's a perfect gentleman.

  741. He's not going to beat down your door,

  742. >> but he'll stand there and knock.

  743. >> Yes.

  744. >> You say, "Preacher, how is that the Holy

  745. Ghost?" Well, notice John chapter number

  746. 14,

  747. one of my favorite scriptures in all the

  748. word of God. John 14. Listen to what

  749. Jesus said. This this is in Jesus own

  750. words.

  751. Verse 25, John chapter number 14.

  752. He said, "These things have I spoken

  753. unto you, being yet present with you.

  754. But the comforter, which is the Holy

  755. Ghost, whom the Father will send in my

  756. name, he shall teach you all things."

  757. Now, doesn't that sound familiar to this

  758. morning

  759. >> and bring all things to your remembrance

  760. whatsoever I've said unto you? The

  761. reason people are wasting away their

  762. life is because the Holy Ghost voice is

  763. not being heard.

  764. >> Good.

  765. >> It's not because he's not speaking.

  766. >> Amen. I really believe he's speaking in

  767. this day and time. I believe with all my

  768. heart, brother Matt, I believe God is

  769. speaking through the Holy Ghost as much

  770. as he ever has spoken.

  771. But this is what I tell you. People not

  772. listening.

  773. >> You're right.

  774. >> Because there's so many other voices.

  775. There's more voices. There's more

  776. influences. There's more impressions

  777. that are made on people

  778. in this day and time that the Holy

  779. Ghost, he's just pushed aside.

  780. John chapter 16 verse number 13 tells us

    John 16 chapter mention

  781. the same thing.

  782. Notice this. John 16

    John 16:13

  783. verse 13. Listen to what he says. Verse

  784. number 13. How be it when he, the Spirit

  785. of truth, is come. He will guide you

  786. into all truth. For he shall not speak

  787. of himself. Whatsoever he shall hear,

  788. that shall he speak, and he will show

  789. you things to come. You want to make

  790. every day count in your life, you're

  791. going to have to have the witness of the

  792. spirit of God. He's going to have to be

  793. able to speak.

  794. >> You're right.

  795. >> And you going to have to be able to

  796. listen.

  797. >> Yeah.

  798. >> You know what that's going to require

  799. you to do? Turn some things off. You're

  800. right.

  801. >> Take some time and set aside.

  802. Here's what happens. All right. This I'm

  803. guilty of this. Okay? You know, I told

  804. my wife, we went on vacation there a few

  805. weeks ago, and it really wasn't a

  806. vacation. It was to look at a project.

  807. Amen. For another ministry. Amen.

  808. >> And I told my wife, I said, "Maybe we'll

  809. get some time that I can spend with the

  810. Lord and pray and recoup my mind." But

  811. you know, here's what I'm finding.

  812. Everywhere I go, there's something,

  813. >> right?

  814. Everywhere I go, every day, there's

  815. something that comes up. I can have a

  816. time set aside. I'm talking about a

  817. period of time set aside to just do

  818. that.

  819. >> Y

  820. >> and something comes up.

  821. >> Y

  822. >> and if something don't come up, I'll get

  823. distracted because I got something else

  824. on my mind.

  825. >> Yeah.

  826. >> And you know what? I spend more time

  827. often times uh trying to get the the the

  828. the mess of the week and and and the day

  829. off my mind so I can just study.

  830. >> You're right. It takes more time for me

  831. to get the junk out than it does for me

  832. to receive the truth.

  833. >> And this is what I'm saying. This is

  834. true for all of us. It's not just me.

  835. Amen. It's not just me. And this is what

  836. I know. If I if it's as much a struggle

  837. for me and I'm having to get enough God

  838. to preach to you three times, four times

  839. a week,

  840. how is it for you,

  841. >> right?

  842. >> When you don't have to you you're not

  843. preparing for a Sunday school class.

  844. See, here's the thing about it. This is

  845. the reason why I want people to serve.

  846. And I've never been this candid about

  847. this. Amen. But I'm going to be tonight.

  848. This is the reason why you need to

  849. serve. David Jeremiah said this. I don't

  850. agree with everything he does. Don't

  851. agree with the Bible he uses. But he's

  852. right about this. He said, "I believe

  853. God called me to preach because he knew

  854. if he hadn't called me to preach, I'd

  855. never read my Bible like I should."

  856. >> Right?

  857. >> I'm convinced the reason why the

  858. church's in a shape sense, people don't

  859. read their Bible.

  860. >> You're right.

  861. >> They don't pray. They don't hear the

  862. voice of God.

  863. >> That's it.

  864. >> I've blowed this sermon all to pieces,

  865. but it's all right. The witness of the

  866. spirit. Look what he says in verse 12.

  867. So teach us when the Holy Ghost speaks.

  868. This ought to be our response.

  869. >> Right,

  870. >> Lord. Whatever.

  871. >> That's right.

  872. >> Whenever, however, don't matter how long

  873. it takes, I'll sit here until you give

  874. me what you want me to have.

  875. >> Good.

  876. >> When we have that kind of resolve in

  877. Christian people, we'll have revival.

  878. >> Amen.

  879. >> Notice not only the witness of the

  880. spirit need to move. Notice the will of

  881. the soul in verse number 12. So teach us

  882. to number our days. Notice this, that we

  883. may apply our hearts

  884. unto wisdom.

  885. So if you're going to make every day

  886. count, number one, you got to have a

  887. witness of the spirit. That has to do

  888. with the divine instruction of the Holy

  889. Ghost. But number two, you're going to

  890. have to have a will in your life. The

  891. will of the soul is going to have to be

  892. directed.

  893. In essence, there's going to have to be

  894. some discipline.

  895. >> You're right. That's right.

  896. >> Oh, that's a dirty word,

  897. >> but it's what's killing us.

  898. >> You're right.

  899. >> You see, discipline

  900. is not going to the extreme.

  901. Discipline is also not just getting

  902. barely doing enough to just get by.

  903. >> But discipline is is this. Lord, I want

  904. exactly what you want for me. I'm going

  905. to make sure that I give enough time.

  906. I'm going to make sure that I clean out

  907. my mind enough and I'm going to make

  908. sure that when I sit down that there's

  909. nothing else going to get in my way

  910. until I get what you have for me in this

  911. period.

  912. >> Good.

  913. >> And you know what? That's daily.

  914. >> But here's the problem. Okay? You know,

  915. preachers used to say this and I agree

  916. with them. You know, we you can't thrive

  917. off of four or three sermons a week. You

  918. can't thrive off three hours of church a

  919. week. You can't. Amen. That's right. But

  920. the truth is people's not even getting

  921. that.

  922. >> You're right. cuz you're coming in here

  923. and you've got your mind on your

  924. workload. You got your mind on your

  925. family issues. You got your mind on

  926. everything else. And see, you've got to

  927. learn how to leave that at home. You're

  928. >> right.

  929. >> You see, there was a day when saints of

  930. God, they left some things at home

  931. before they come to the house of God.

  932. >> But now, we just bring it all with us.

  933. >> And here's what we do. We'll spend the

  934. whole service festering on it. We'll

  935. miss everything the preacher said. We

  936. can't shout on the song because it don't

  937. help us. We're too focused on something

  938. else.

  939. >> You're right.

  940. >> We can't shout on the song. We can't get

  941. in on the preaching because we're not

  942. listening.

  943. >> Come on, preacher.

  944. >> And then what we do is we come to the

  945. altar and we say, "Lord, please help me

  946. with this." And we lay it on the altar

  947. and we walk away about three steps. We

  948. turn around, come back right back, pick

  949. it up again, and walk out the door with

  950. it. You're right.

  951. >> To bring it into the next service.

  952. You're

  953. >> right.

  954. >> And so really, you're not even getting

  955. three services a week.

  956. You're right.

  957. >> I'm saying this truth is this book's

  958. only as good as when you receive it.

  959. >> You're right.

  960. >> And so it the will is involved. You see,

  961. our will is what determines whether or

  962. not we're going to do anything for God.

  963. >> You see, it was the will of God that we

  964. be saved. But after that, all right,

  965. when God saves you and you allow him,

  966. you when you submit to his will, you

  967. know what happens?

  968. Then he has to turn you. And you know

  969. what? Your will has to become his.

  970. You're

  971. >> right.

  972. >> And I think that's where we're missing

  973. it. We We let God's will be done in our

  974. life to save us.

  975. >> But we're unwilling to allow his will to

  976. take over our will.

  977. >> Good.

  978. >> Because if it takes over your will, it's

  979. going to take over your schedule.

  980. >> Amen. It's going to take over your

  981. schedule. It's going to take over your

  982. appetite. I'm not talking about food.

  983. >> You're right.

  984. >> Amen. It'll take that over, too. Amen.

  985. If you get holy enough. You're right.

  986. It'll take that over. Amen. But it's

  987. going to take over. It's going to take

  988. over your appetite for things of this

  989. world. I heard a preacher and I was so

  990. glad our young people got to hear this.

  991. Okay. As oldtime man of God from up in

  992. the mountains of North Carolina, Ash

  993. County up there, Brother Jeff Brown. He

  994. preached the other other morning there.

  995. That service we went to afternoon, he

  996. made this statement. Nobody can identify

  997. with this. I'll be honest with you. All

  998. right. But this old man of God, he's as

  999. serious as serious can be when he said

1000. it. And I told my wife, I sat there and

1001. said amen to it because I agree with

1002. him. This is what he said. He said from

1003. the time he got saved and started

1004. preaching, he said he he made this com

1005. he made this comment. Now don't fall out

1006. with me here tonight. I'm not saying

1007. it's a sin to do what what he said, but

1008. I'm telling you this is just the

1009. character of this preaching. He said,

1010. you know, he said, I've not had a desire

1011. to go to another ball game from the day

  1012. that I started preaching.

1013. He said, "Because I'm just satisfying

1014. working and pastoring my church." That's

  1015. >> good.

  1016. >> He said, "I don't do anything

1017. extracurricular." Cuz he said, "My life

1018. is a ministry." Brother Ricky Graalley

1019. was here preaching for us this fall. You

1020. remember the touch of God is on that man

  1021. of God?

  1022. >> Absolutely.

1023. >> He told me sitting in the truck over at

1024. the hotel on Friday afternoon, this is

1025. what he told me. He said, he said, "You

1026. know, preacher," he said, "I don't have

1027. a lot of hobbies." He said, "We don't,"

1028. he said, "my we don't really." He said,

1029. "We'll take uh, you know, two vacations

1030. a year and we'll go out and make some

1031. memories with our kids and grandkids."

1032. And he said, "But we don't have

1033. hobbies." He says, "Our hobby is the

  1034. ministry."

  1035. >> Amen.

  1036. >> It's the church. That's

  1037. >> right.

1038. >> You say, "Preacher, that's radical." No,

  1039. it's just right.

  1040. >> That's right. You're right.

1041. >> It's just right. You see, what it comes

1042. down to is a thing of the will. Here's

1043. what we've got in our mind. We we we've

1044. some come so accustomed to the American

1045. way of life that we've pushed all of

1046. that out and we said, "Well, I got to

1047. have this to satisfy this need and this

1048. won't. I got to have this to satisfy

1049. that need and that won't." What about if

1050. we had to lose every bit of that?

  1051. >> Come on.

1052. >> In order to have revival,

  1053. >> that's good.

  1054. >> I mean, real.

1055. It's going to involve the will.

  1056. >> You're right.

1057. >> If you're going to make every day count,

1058. it's going to involve the witness of the

1059. spirit. It's going to involve the will

1060. of the soul. That word apply means to

1061. enter or come in. Notice that in verse

1062. 12, that we may apply our hearts unto

1063. wisdom. And so that means we're

  1064. literally placing our will

1065. within. Notice the last thing and I'm

1066. done. There is the witness of the

1067. spirit, the will of the soul, and then

1068. there is the wisdom of the scriptures.

1069. Verse 12, that we may apply our hearts

  1070. unto wisdom.

1071. You see this truth here in this text?

1072. Basically what that's saying is the

1073. phrase that we may apply our hearts

1074. under wisdom that we may place our

  1075. hearts

1076. in the word of God. Now when's the last

1077. time you've been around somebody was

  1078. like that

1079. their heart was the Bible, what it said,

1080. what it's for, the gospel, the ministry,

  1081. and that's it.

1082. You see, the cost of of making every day

1083. count means that we're going to have to

1084. put out everything else that doesn't

  1085. matter.

  1086. >> Good.

1087. >> Let me ask you, how much do you do in a

1088. day that makes no difference for

  1089. eternity? You're

  1090. >> right.

1091. >> Oh, man. When I asked myself that this

1092. question this afternoon, I about choked.

  1093. >> We're consumed.

  1094. >> We are.

1095. >> And we used to be consumed with the

  1096. word.

1097. >> Amen. You know what I'm finding the the

1098. the further I go along and I love to

1099. read now. I I love books and I love to

  1100. read. I I got a library. I've not even

1101. moved it down here yet. I read most of

1102. my books on my iPad or on my phone these

1103. days and I got a whole library at home I

1104. need to bring down here. But but I was

1105. thinking about it this afternoon. You

1106. know, it used to be a whole lot easier

1107. to just just take a book and sit down

1108. and read. Remember when I was in school,

1109. I loved it. I just sit there for hours

1110. and just read. But do you see any young

1111. ones doing that in this damn time?

  1112. I can't tell you the last time I seen a

1113. young with a book other than the Bible

  1114. in church.

  1115. >> Right?

  1116. >> I'm saying we've lost

  1117. the desire

  1118. for holy things.

  1119. >> Right.

  1120. >> I know it's I know it's a little bit

1121. different tonight, but I'll say this. I

1122. believe we're plowing the right road.

  1123. >> Yeah.

1124. >> This is where we're missing it.

  1125. >> Right.

1126. >> And this is what it comes down to. He

1127. says here in the text that we may apply

1128. our hearts unto wisdom. Now knowledge

1129. and wisdom are two different things.

1130. Knowledge is knowing what's right. But

1131. wisdom is knowing what's right and doing

  1132. it.

  1133. >> You're right.

1134. >> Here's what we've come to in this day

1135. and time. We're full of knowledge. Have

  1136. no wisdom.

1137. We know what's right. We know what we

1138. ought to do. We'll say amen to the

1139. preacher, but we'll walk out the doors

1140. living in the very thing that the

  1141. preacher preached on.

  1142. >> You're right.

  1143. >> No wisdom,

1144. no desire to apply the truths that have

1145. been dealt to us. And and we have no

1146. desire to submit because there's no

1147. will. There's no discipline. And so the

1148. lack is this. People are illiterate with

1149. the Bible because they have no desire to

  1150. know it.

1151. >> It's not because the preachers not

1152. preached it. It's not because the Sunday

1153. school teachers not taught it. It's not

1154. because the songs don't sing to us the

1155. blessedness of the scriptures and TEACH

1156. US BIBLE DOCTRINE. IT'S BECAUSE WE DO

  1157. NOT HEAR IT.

  1158. >> RIGHT?

1159. >> We don't want to hear it.

  1160. >> You're right.

1161. >> We sit IN CHURCH WEEKEND AND WE COW and

  1162. we've GROWN A DEATH HERE. WE'VE GROWN

1163. COLD TO IT BECAUSE IT doesn't amaze us

  1164. anymore.

1165. If you're going to make every day count,

1166. you're going to have to apply the wisdom

  1167. of the scriptures

  1168. to your life.

  1169. One writer said this.

1170. He said, "You need he said to in essence

1171. concerning this this thought of teaching

1172. us to number our days, he said, you need

1173. to improve time in time while the time

1174. do last. For all time is no time when

  1175. the time is passed.

1176. You need to improve time in time while

  1177. the time does last.

1178. For all time is no time when the time

  1179. has passed.

1180. One writer said, "What it means to

1181. number our days. We number our days by

  1182. our daily prayers."

1183. He said, "We not only number our days by

1184. our daily prayers, but we number we them

1185. by our daily obedience and daily acts of

  1186. love."

1187. Doesn't that just sound like what I just

1188. preached to you? You want to show God

1189. that you love him, it's not going to be

1190. you hugging on a brother or sister,

  1191. >> right?

1192. >> It's not going to be you even witnessing

  1193. to a lost person. You're

1194. >> right. I'll tell you, you want to show

1195. God how much you love him, go sit in a

1196. private place somewhere with your Bible

1197. open and say, 'Lord, I don't care about

1198. anything else that's going on.

  1199. >> I don't care what I miss. I don't care

1200. what it costs me. Lord, I just want to

1201. spend some time with you.

  1202. >> Amen.

1203. I don't care if I feel you or see you or

1204. anything like that, but Lord, I just

1205. want you to know that I've come here in

1206. this time at this moment to sit in your

  1207. presence. And I don't need anything. I

1208. don't want anything, but I just want to

  1209. sit in your presence.

1210. >> You want to make every day count,

1211. you're going to have to have his wisdom.

1212. It's going to come by the scriptures.

1213. Let me say this to you. All right. The

  1214. method's very simple.

1215. It requires the witness of the Holy

1216. Ghost. And this is the wonder of the

1217. Christian life. The spirit of God lives

1218. within. He's there. Amen. Hallelujah for

1219. that. He's there. If any man have not

1220. the spirit of Christ, he's none of his.

1221. And so, if he's not living within, that

1222. means you're not saved. And so, you need

1223. to get that part worked out first. But

1224. if you're saved, the witness is present.

  1225. He's at home

  1226. >> and he's available. RIGHT.

1227. >> YOU AIN'T GOT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

  1228. WITH HIM.

  1229. >> RIGHT.

1230. >> He's available and he wants to teach

  1231. you.

  1232. >> Yes.

1233. >> But he'll only do it if you ask.

  1234. >> Right.

1235. >> Teach us. So teach us to number our days

1236. that we may apply our hearts under

1237. wisdom. Every head bowed and every eye

1238. closed. Let me ask you, do you want to

  1239. make every day count?

  1240. Do you?

1241. This is what it's going to take.

1242. Putting our schedules aside, putting our

  1243. plans aside,

  1244. putting all our ideas

1245. and even our personal theology aside.

1246. You know, I've got ideas and beliefs

1247. about God that I that I have, you know,

1248. that I can't necessarily say is Bible,

1249. but you know, when I come to God, you

1250. know, I have to come to him on the terms

  1251. of

1252. Lord, I'm just going to trust you based

1253. on what that book said.

1254. And this is the final authority for my

1255. life. So, let me ask you once again, do

1256. you want to make every day count?

  1257. I'll say this. There's a private place

1258. up here around the front.

1259. You can come tell him maybe it's been a

1260. while since you just come and sat in his

  1261. presence and said, "Lord,

  1262. I don't need anything.

  1263. Lord, I there's some things I want, but

1264. I'm not worried about that right now.

1265. Lord, you've been better to me than I

  1266. deserve.

1267. Lord, I'd just like to come sit in your

1268. presence. Hey, let me tell you tonight,

1269. child of God, he's here in this place

  1270. tonight

1271. and I'll give you the chance. This altar

  1272. is open tonight.

1273. Do you want to come? Do you want to make

  1274. every day count?

1275. Hey, this thing's real, friend.

1276. And let me remind you once again, time

  1277. is just an island

1278. in the middle of the sea of eternity.

1279. Is so small in comparison.

1280. Let me say this. You get to the judgment

1281. seat one of these days,

1282. you're not saved standing there before

1283. Christ that you wish you would have

1284. taken more days off and wished you'd

1285. have done this on vacation and done that

1286. and all you wish. What you wish you

1287. would have done is done more for Jesus.

1288. You wished you would have sat in a

1289. private place a little longer. You wish

1290. you would have said it in in the word of

  1291. God a little longer.

1292. You wish that your attitude had been a

1293. little better when the preacher or the

1294. Sunday school teacher asked you to step

  1295. up and serve.

1296. You'll wish that for your kids you would

1297. have showed them a better way of living.

1298. You'll wish that you'd have sat in the

1299. presence of God just a few more times

1300. and just told him that you love him.

1301. Oh, but friend, you can start from this

1302. day forward and do what you know you

  1303. need to do.

1304. Oh, you can do it from now on.

1305. I'll say this tonight. If you're here in

1306. the place and you're lost, you can be

  1307. saved.

1308. You don't have to die lost.

1309. Father, I pray in Jesus name.

1310. Lord, help us to bring our body into

  1311. subjection.

1312. God, you've been so good.

1313. Lord, I've watched you transformed lives

1314. in this church in the last year,

1315. God. And I'm confident I'm going to see

1316. you change more lives in this coming

  1317. year.

1318. But God, I know it's going to depend on

1319. us getting right with you.

1320. Cuz Lord, you only deal in declarations.

1321. You don't make our decisions for us.

1322. You give us the truth.

1323. And you say, "Child, follow me."

1324. You don't grab us by the arm and drag us

  1325. against our will.

1326. But Lord, in love and mercy.

1327. You say, "Child, I know what's best.

1328. Just follow me. Just be obedient to me."

1329. And God, I pray that you'd help every

  1330. heart in this place,

1331. God, to make a conscious decision

  1332. to submit

1333. to your will and way in your word for

  1334. their life.

1335. Some are still praying, every heads

1336. still bowed and eyes still closed

  1337. tonight.

1338. I tell you church, we can't afford to

  1339. waste another service,

  1340. >> right?

1341. >> We can't afford to come in here and just

  1342. get by.

1343. I don't ever want to come in this place

1344. and just preach a sermon just to get

  1345. through it.

1346. >> Just to get it over with.

1347. I don't want you to ever come and sit

1348. here on a pew just to get it over with

1349. and check a check a checklist for the

  1350. week.

  1351. I don't want church to be a drudgery. I

  1352. don't I want it I don't want it to be a

1353. checklist for you. I want it to be

1354. something that God put in your heart and

  1355. you're excited about it.

1356. I'll tell you what, God wants it to be

1357. that way for you, too. Hey, it can be

  1358. real,

1359. but it comes down to how much you want

  1360. it.

1361. >> Father, we pray once again,

1362. thank you for your mercy and your grace

  1363. towards us.

1364. Lord, there's many burdens on the heart

  1365. of your people tonight.

  1366. Lord, there's souls now, Father, that's

1367. in my heart. Even as I stand here behind

  1368. this pull pit,

1369. Lord, there was people here last year at

1370. this time. It's not here no more.

1371. Lord, some of them is out in sin.

1372. Oh God, I pray you'd have mercy on them.

1373. And Lord, I pray, Father, that Lord,

1374. next year, this time, God, that

1375. this same group still be here and be

1376. faithful, but Lord, they'll be grown

  1377. more, they'll know more, they'll be

  1378. doing more

1379. because Lord, I know that's the purpose

1380. that you have for this church is to win

  1381. souls

  1382. and to glorify you.

1383. Lord, I sure thank you for it. I thank

1384. you for these people that are here and

1385. for their faithfulness. Lord, I pray for

1386. their burdens tonight that you would

  1387. help them.

1388. Give them strength, mercy to carry on.

1389. Lord, some still dealing with grieving,

1390. lost loved ones, some dealing with

1391. grieving those loved ones that's went

1392. home to be with the Lord. Lord, I pray

1393. that you'd help them and give them

  1394. strength.

1395. And I pray you'd help us all to draw

1396. near to you in this year. We make every

1397. day count. Lord, I love you. I thank you

1398. for that in Jesus name.

  1399. Amen.

1400. Thank you for joining our service today.
