  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God.

  9. If you have a Bible, turn with me the

  10. book of Genesis. Genesis chapter 37. And

    Genesis 37 chapter mention

  11. let's stand. Let's stand on reference to

  12. the reading of God's word. Genesis

    Genesis 37 chapter mention

  13. chapter 37.

  14. I appreciate each one of you being here

  15. today. Thank the Lord for you. And I

  16. love each and every one of you. God sure

  17. is good to us. And he's been so good.

  18. Blessed us more than we deserve. I tell

  19. you what, I ought to be in hell this

  20. morning. And but I'm here and in my

  21. right mind, saved and on my way to

  22. heaven. Amen. And my wife might would

  23. argue about the right mind part. Amen.

  24. But I think I am. Let's put it that way.

  25. Amen. But I appreciate you being here.

  26. Genesis chapter 37. I want to read just

    Genesis 37 chapter mention

  27. a few verses this morning. Give you a

  28. thought and then we'll go home uh this

  29. morning. Genesis 37 verse number one.

  30. The Bible says, "And Jacob dwelt in the

  31. land wherein his father was a stranger

  32. in the land of Canaan." These are the

  33. generations of Jo of Jacob. Joseph being

  34. 17 years old was feeding the flock with

  35. his brethren. And the lad was with the

  36. sons of Bilha, and with the sons of

  37. Zilpa, and his father's wives. And

  38. Joseph brought unto his father their

  39. evil report. Now Israel loved Joseph

  40. more than all his children, because he

  41. was the son of his old age. And he made

  42. him a coat of many colors. When his

  43. brethren saw that their father loved him

  44. more than all his brethren, they hated

  45. him, and could not speak peaceibly unto

  46. them. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he

  47. told it his brethren, and they hated him

  48. yet the more. And he said unto them,

  49. "Hear I pray you this dream which I had

  50. dreamed. For behold, we were binding

  51. sheav in the field, and lo, my sheath

  52. arose, and also stood upright, and

  53. behold, your sheep stood round about,

  54. and made obedience to my sheath." And

  55. his brethren said to him, "Shalt thou

  56. indeed reign over us, or shalt thou

  57. indeed have dominion over us?" And they

  58. hated him yet the more for his dreams

  59. and for his words. And he dreamed yet

  60. another dream, and told his brethren,

  61. and said, "Behold, I've dreamed a dream

  62. more. Behold, the sun and the moon, and

  63. the 11 stars made obedience to me." And

  64. he told it to his father, and to his

  65. brethren. And his father rebuked him,

  66. and said unto him, "What is this dream

  67. that thou hast dreamed? shall I and thy

  68. mother and thy brethren indeed come to

  69. bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

  70. And his brethren envied him, but his

  71. father observed the saying. Now, I want

  72. you to notice the end of this chapter.

  73. And then we're going to turn to the

  74. Gospel of John for just a minute. But in

  75. 35 verses, the tune really changes in

  76. this chapter. The Bible says in verse

  77. number 32 or verse 31 that they took

  78. Joseph's coat and killed a kid of the

  79. goats and dipped the coat in the blood.

  80. They sent the coat of many colors and

  81. they brought it to their father and

  82. said, "This have we found. Know now

  83. whether it be thy son's code or no." Let

  84. me say this to you. They knew whose code

  85. it was. Amen.

  86. >> They would have knew whose code it was

  87. if they had found it and they hadn't

  88. been the one that done it.

  89. >> Yeah.

  90. >> That's the way your sin is, by the way.

  91. Let me just put that out there. Notice

  92. verse 33. And he knew it and said, "It

  93. is my son's coat, an evil beast hath

  94. devoured him." Joseph is with without

  95. doubt ren in pieces. And Jacob ran his

  96. clothes and put sackcloth upon his loins

  97. and mourned for his son many days. And

  98. all his sons and all his daughters rose

  99. up to comfort him. But he refused to be

  100. comforted and comforted. and he said,

  101. "For I will go down into the grave unto

  102. my son mourning." Thus his father wept

  103. for him. Now I want you to notice with

  104. me John's gospel.

  105. John's gospel chapter number 15.

  106. John's gospel chapter number 15 and

  107. verse number 17.

  108. Chapter 15:E1 17 the Bible says Jesus

  109. speaking these things I command you that

  110. you love one another. Verse number 18 if

  111. the world hates you

  112. know that it hated me before it hated

  113. you.

  114. >> Amen.

  115. >> And with the help of the Lord I want to

  116. preach on the thought out of verse

  117. number 18 on why the world hates Jesus.

  118. why the world hates Jesus. Father, I ask

  119. you this morning that you would help us

  120. as we've come, Lord, of this hour, this

  121. time of worship, Lord, this time of

  122. preaching. God, I pray that you'd give

  123. us strength. Give us liberty. Give us

  124. uncction. Fill us with the spirit of

  125. God. Remove every hindrance. Lord, I

  126. know I am completely incapable of

  127. preaching this sermon this morning

  128. without your help. And God, I pray that

  129. you would move in our midst, work in

  130. every heart and every life, have free

  131. liberty and cores in every heart. God, I

  132. ask you, Father, for that one that's

  133. here lost today. I pray today would be

  134. the day of salvation for them. And we

  135. give you thanks for what you do because

  136. we ask it in Jesus name. And God's

  137. children said,

  138. >> "Amen." Thank you for standing. You can

  139. be seated this morning. Genesis chapter

    Genesis 37 chapter mention

  140. 37 begins the story of the man Joseph.

  141. Now, Joseph comes on the scene. several

  142. chapters earlier his birth. Of course,

  143. he and Benjamin are the two sons of

  144. Rachel. Now, we know that Jacob here has

  145. four wives, Leah and Rachel, and then

  146. their two handmmaids, Bilha and Zilpa in

  147. this text. And Joseph is a son of

  148. Rachel. And I want to say this this

  149. morning when I come to this text, I

  150. think about Joseph. I think about Jacob.

  151. And I think about what comes to my mind

  152. always when we think about Jacob is the

  153. dysfunction of his family. Jacob's

  154. family is a mess. And I'll tell you the

  155. reason why his family is a mess. Because

  156. Jacob was full of lust. And everyone in

  157. his life was led around by his

  158. deception. Jacob was a man full of

  159. deceit. He was a man full of strategery

  160. and scheming. He was constantly trying

  161. to undermine somebody else and so he

  162. could exalt himself. And I'll say this,

  163. that is your natural state as a sinner

  164. this morning. You realize, no, it does

  165. not matter how hard you try to be

  166. righteous that you are you are

  167. exceedingly sinful. Somebody say amen.

  168. And because of that, you are ultimately

  169. going to be a schemer and a deceiver.

  170. Your flesh is deceitful. And so because

  171. of that, that's what your nature is.

  172. That's the way you're going to be. And

  173. so if you operate as a saved person in

  174. the power of the flesh, you will be

  175. deceitful and be a schemer. If you are

  176. lost, you can't help but operate that

  177. way this morning because you have no

  178. capacity to operate in holiness and in

  179. righteousness. But I'm thankful all of

  180. that can change this morning. Amen. God

  181. can do an eternal work in your heart.

  182. And I pray that he'll help us as we look

  183. at this text. But Jacob's life is a

  184. mess. And Jacob's children, there's many

  185. things that go on in this chapter. You

  186. can look just a couple of chapters

  187. prior. And Jacob's one of Jacob's older

  188. sons, Judah, the son of Leah. He he

  189. takes a woman unto himself of the

  190. Canaanite people. And then there's a

  191. bunch of murder that takes place. And

  192. there's just so much that goes on.

  193. Reuben sleeps with one of Jacob's wives,

  194. his oldest son. And Dina is is she is

  195. taken and her purity is taken from her.

  196. It's just a mess. There's just constant

  197. mess in Jacob's life. But Joseph is the

  198. one with whom righteousness dwells. When

  199. we get to chapter 37, it's almost like

  200. the pages turn. It begins with talking

  201. about this man Joseph and who he was.

  202. And I want to give you some things out

  203. of this text this morning. Note by way

  204. of introduction the timing here in verse

  205. number one of chapter 37. The Bible

  206. says, "And Jacob dwelt in the land

  207. wherein his father was a stranger in the

  208. land of Canaan." Now Jacob here, he has

  209. come out. They've been dwelling in

  210. different places in this land. He's been

  211. to Bethl. He's been to Padana Ram. He's

  212. been over there by the brook Jabbok. We

  213. preached about that there on last week.

  214. And Jacob has been many different

  215. places. And here in this text, of

  216. course, it's a summarizing thought that

  217. he is dwelling here in the land of Cain.

  218. We know that was the promise that

  219. Abraham had give unto him. But I'll say

  220. this, you can be dwelling in the place

  221. where God wants you to be and still not

  222. living the way that God wants you to

  223. live. Somebody say amen. Jacob now is

  224. right. And I preached this there really

  225. along the same lines talking about Lot.

  226. Just because Lot was righteous, he found

  227. himself in the wrong place, living the

  228. wrong way. And Jacob here, he is doing

  229. right now for the most part. He's had

  230. another experience there at Bethl in

  231. chapter 35. But I'll tell you this,

  232. Jacob's sins have been passed on to his

  233. children and they, it seems, are falling

  234. by the wayside. And that's what we're

  235. going to find in this very same chapter.

  236. But there's one of his children that's

  237. not this way. And so I note the timing,

  238. but I note the type in our text. In

  239. verse number two, the Bible says, "These

  240. are the generations of Jacob. Joseph

  241. being 17 years old was feeding the flock

  242. with his brethren." Now, what we have

  243. come across here this morning in this

  244. text is the most pure picture and type

  245. of Jesus and all the word of God. Joseph

  246. pictures and types Jesus Christ better

  247. than any other person in all the Bible.

  248. And I I there's a lot I could say about

  249. that this morning. For just sake of

  250. time, I'll say this. You never find a

  251. sin of Joseph recorded in the Bible.

  252. >> You never see a place where he missed

  253. the mark. You never see a mistake that

  254. Joseph made. Now, there's some

  255. inferences, maybe implications that you

  256. might could make about different places,

  257. but I'll say this. As far as pure types

  258. go in the word of God, Joseph is the

  259. most pure type of the Lord Jesus Christ

  260. just for his life. And we'll say more

  261. about that as the message comes about

  262. this morning. But I I note not only the

  263. timing the and the and the type in the

  264. text, but I note the truth in this text.

  265. In verse number two, the Bible says that

  266. he was 17 years old feeding the flock

  267. with his brethren. Notice this. And the

  268. lad was with the sons of Bilha and with

  269. the sons of Zilpa, his father's wives.

  270. and Joseph brought unto his father their

  271. evil report. Now, what's happened in

  272. this text is life is being lived. Now,

  273. let me just stop right here and let's

  274. just take a reality check for a minute.

  275. Breathe in and breathe out.

  276. You know what that means?

  277. >> You're living.

  278. >> Just thought we'd stop and take a

  279. reality check for a minute. Amen.

  280. >> So, you know what that means? If you're

  281. living this morning, you have a life.

  282. >> Amen. and your life is influenced and

  283. it's influxed by many things and many

  284. people

  285. >> Joseph is in a dysfunctional family.

  286. His brethren really are defiled people

  287. and Joseph is trying to be different.

  288. And let me say this to you young people

  289. this morning. Just because your life's

  290. dysfunctional and things are defiled

  291. around you does not mean that you can't

  292. be different.

  293. >> Right? Amen.

  294. >> You can live for God.

  295. >> You can be different.

  296. >> You can be a person a a a a person that

  297. stands out for the glory of God. But

  298. I'll tell you this, it comes with a

  299. cost.

  300. >> Right?

  301. >> You see in this text, you find it three

  302. times in our text. The Bible uses the

  303. word hate. The Bible says in verse

  304. number four that his brethren saw that

  305. their father loved him more than all his

  306. brethren. They hated him. Verse five,

  307. Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told his

  308. brethren, and they hated him yet the

  309. more. Verse eight, they said, "Shalt,

  310. thou indeed have dominion over us." And

  311. they hated him yet the more for his

  312. dreams and for his words. And I'll tell

  313. you, just like Jesus told his disciples,

  314. he said, "Marvel not if the world hates

  315. you. Know that it hated me before it

  316. hated you."

  317. >> I want to tell you this, church, this

  318. morning. Don't expect the world to love

  319. you. Why do we have this mentality in

  320. this day and time that the church is

  321. supposed to be loved by society? We

  322. should not expect the government to bow

  323. down to us.

  324. >> Right?

  325. >> Amen. We should not expect society to

  326. grant our every wish as the church. Now,

  327. I know in American history, there was a

  328. day when the world did revolve around

  329. the church, but we're not living there

  330. anymore.

  331. >> Amen. I know America has been blessed in

  332. days gone by and there was a time period

  333. when government answered to the church

  334. when they took advice from preachers.

  335. Much of the government was preachers at

  336. one time. What I'm saying is is that day

  337. is gone.

  338. >> Right?

  339. >> And the influence of the church in

  340. America is just a shadow

  341. >> of what it used to be. But I'll tell you

  342. this, Christ has not changed.

  343. >> And the true church has not changed.

  344. Somebody say amen right there. Hey,

  345. those that really believe and those that

  346. really want to follow Christ, they're

  347. living the same way. They're doing the

  348. same things, praying the same prayers,

  349. and reading the same Bible. Somebody

  350. say, "Amen." We have not changed. And

  351. I'm thankful there's some things that

  352. don't change. Amen. But in this text, I

  353. consider that Joseph is in a dire place.

  354. He's in a place that's very destructive

  355. to his mental capacity. And we note his

  356. age in verse number seven. He's 17 years

  357. old. He's just a young man at this time.

  358. Jacob is probably from what I've

  359. studied, he is over a hundred years old

  360. at this time. Maybe they're getting

  361. close to a hundred. And so Jacob here,

  362. he's really raising Joseph as what we

  363. would call a great great grandchild.

  364. It's precious to him. It's the son of

  365. his old age, the Bible says. And I want

  366. to give you three reasons this morning

  367. why the world hates Jesus. And it's

  368. pictured to us perfectly in this man,

  369. Joseph. It's seen in these verses just

  370. perfectly. And I want to say this to you

  371. this morning. Do not marvel that these

  372. things bring bring about hatred in our

  373. life. You're

  374. >> right

  375. >> when I'm going to give you this list of

  376. three things. Do not be amazed that this

  377. is going to be a part of your life.

  378. Because the truth is if they hated

  379. Jesus, they will hate us.

  380. >> Amen.

  381. >> Amen. I want you to know first of all in

  382. this message this morning, this just a

  383. simple thought and I'll get out of the

  384. way and be done. Number one, the reason

  385. the world, one of the reasons why the

  386. world hates Jesus, number one, is

  387. because his distinction,

  388. his distinction. You say, "What do you

  389. mean?" Well, notice that the Bible

  390. literally marks Joseph in verse number

  391. two. You can read about Judah. You can

  392. read about Simeon and Levi, their

  393. wickedness, and killing off a bunch of

  394. men. Judah's wickedness and defiling

  395. himself, Reuben's wickedness and

  396. defiling himself with one of his

  397. father's handmaidadens, Dina's

  398. wickedness, and literally almost every

  399. other son of Jacob as described as

  400. wicked.

  401. But this person, Joseph's different.

  402. He doesn't look the same. You see, the

  403. pages of scripture paint him

  404. differently. I'll say this, first of

  405. all, number one, he's distinct because

  406. of his birth. Look at the text. Verse

  407. two, Joseph being 17 years old was

  408. feeding the flock with his brethren. The

  409. lad was with the sons of Bilha, with the

  410. sons of Zilpa, his father's wives. And

  411. Joseph brought unto his father their

  412. evil report. Now, who's whose mother was

  413. whose whose son was Joseph?

  414. Rachel.

  415. Who was Rachel?

  416. Rachel was the one that Jacob loved

  417. most. Rachel was the one that he served

  418. seven years and then Laban tricked him.

  419. Remember that? And in and then seven

  420. more years he served for Rachel. And the

  421. Bible says they seemed as but a few days

  422. for Jacob because he loved her and he

  423. loved Rachel. And Joseph was the

  424. firstborn son of Rachel. We know the

  425. scripture teaches that she was barren.

  426. And the competition between the women

  427. there was there he they gave their

  428. handmaidadens unto Joseph so Rachel

  429. could have children by them. And I want

  430. to say this this morning. In a in a

  431. world that's increasingly uh you know

  432. making this okay and and saying it's all

  433. right. Polygamy is still wrong. Okay.

  434. >> Amen. It never works out. It's always

  435. wicked. Every time you see it in the

  436. Bible, there's a destruction that

  437. follows it. Just like David when he sent

  438. out Uriah said there followed him a mess

  439. of meat with from the king. Every place

  440. where there's adultery, every place

  441. where there's polygamy, every place

  442. where there's sexual immorality, there's

  443. nothing but a mess that follows. Right.

  444. >> Amen. One man and one woman for life.

  445. Hallelujah. Somebody say amen.

  446. >> Amen.

  447. >> It's what the Bible teaches.

  448. >> But in this text, he was distinct

  449. because of his birth. See, Joseph was

  450. the one. He was number one born in his

  451. father's old age. Amen. But he was born

  452. by Rachel, the one that Jacob loved the

  453. most. And so Jacob's got a target on his

  454. back. And you say, "Preacher, what do

  455. you mean by that?" Well, number one, I'd

  456. say Jesus was distinct because of his

  457. birth.

  458. >> Amen. He's the only one that's ever been

  459. born of a virgin.

  460. >> Amen. And you say, "Preacher, what does

  461. that have to do with me?" Well, if

  462. you're saved, you're distinct because of

  463. your birth. Somebody say, "Amen." Hey,

  464. you've been set apart. You've been born

  465. from heaven, born again by the grace of

  466. God. What I'm saying is you are distinct

  467. because of the new birth. We know Jesus

  468. was distinct because he was the virgin

  469. born son of God. And Joseph was distinct

  470. because he was the son born of Jacob in

  471. his old age. And so he was distinct

  472. because of his birth. He was also

  473. distinct because of his behavior. Notice

  474. that in verse two and Joseph brought

  475. unto his father. What's your Bible say?

  476. Their evil report. You know what that

  477. means? Joseph come back and said, "Hey,

  478. Daddy,

  479. my brothers ain't doing right."

  480. You know what that implies? Joseph

  481. didn't live like they did.

  482. >> You're right.

  483. The world hates Jesus because his birth

  484. is distinct. But I'll say this, his

  485. behavior was distinct.

  486. >> Amen.

  487. >> Not a single time did they ever find any

  488. wickedness in Jesus. Not a single time

  489. do you ever see any wickedness in

  490. Joseph. And you say, "Preacher, well, he

  491. was a prideful young man." No, he cared

  492. about his daddy and he wanted his daddy

  493. to know what his brothers were doing.

  494. >> Amen.

  495. >> You say, "Preacher, well that's a

  496. tattletail. I don't want to train train

  497. my children to be a tattletail." Well,

  498. if you don't teach them when they're

  499. young, Amen. that they need to tell on

  500. themselves when they mess up.

  501. >> Amen.

  502. >> I'm not telling Hey, listen to me this

  503. morning. When your child, Amen, gets in

  504. a mess and makes a mistake and they sin,

  505. do something against God, the first

  506. person they run to ought not be a friend

  507. down at the schoolhouse.

  508. >> Amen.

  509. >> You better train your children that they

  510. come to you.

  511. >> Amen. And you say, "Well, Joseph didn't

  512. hadn't sin." Well, you're exactly right

  513. about that. But Joseph was watching

  514. after his brethren.

  515. >> Amen.

  516. >> You think about this. Jesus when he come

  517. to this earth, what did he come to do?

  518. Come to look after his brethren, didn't

  519. he?

  520. >> What the Bible say in John chapter one?

  521. He came unto his own and his own

  522. received him not.

  523. >> You say, you say, "What do you mean,

  524. preacher?" I'm saying that Joseph was

  525. looking out for his brethren. Jesus, the

  526. world hated him because he was just

  527. looking out for

  528. >> right.

  529. >> Amen. He They hate him. He's distinct in

  530. his birth. He's distinct in his

  531. behavior. I'll say this thirdly, and let

  532. me just put this out there before I move

  533. on. A Christian ought to be distinct in

  534. our behavior. Amen. We ought to act

  535. different than the world. We ought to

  536. look different than the world. Amen. And

  537. just because of that, know that the

  538. world will hate you.

  539. >> Amen. You're different. You've got you

  540. just wearing that yoke of bondage. Let

  541. me tell you, it's freedom, friend.

  542. Hallelujah. Bless his name. I'll take it

  543. every day of the week. Jesus said, "Come

  544. unto me all ye that labor and are heavy

  545. laden." How is it that we labor and are

  546. heavy laden under the bondage and the

  547. yoke of sin? SOMEBODY SAY, "AMEN. COME

  548. UNTO me all ye that labor and are heavy

  549. laden?" He said, "I'LL GIVE YOU REST.

  550. TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU. LEARN OF ME for

  551. I'm meek and lowly IN HEART." HE SAID,

  552. "YOU SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS."

  553. >> I don't know. I'll take it every day.

  554. Amen.

  555. >> He was distinct in his birth. He was

  556. distinct in his behavior. But I'll say

  557. this, he was distinct in his beauty.

  558. Notice the text. The Bible says in verse

  559. number three, "Now Israel loved Joseph

  560. more than all his children." I'll say

  561. more about that in a minute. Because he

  562. was the son of his old age. Notice this.

  563. And he made him a coat of many colors.

  564. You say, "What do you mean Joseph was

  565. distinct in his beauty?" Well, some of

  566. y'all hook up with what I'm fixing to

  567. say, but I'm going to explain it for the

  568. rest of you. Amen. Joseph, that coat of

  569. many colors, you see, he was arrayed

  570. with beauty that wasn't his own. You're

  571. right.

  572. >> Come on.

  573. >> That coat of many colors was put on

  574. Joseph. Amen. To make him distinct from

  575. all his brothers.

  576. >> So that everybody knew when they saw

  577. that coat that that's Joseph.

  578. >> You know what that coat represented? Not

  579. only that it was Joseph, but that he was

  580. the father's favorite son.

  581. >> Amen.

  582. >> Amen. You say, "What do you mean by

  583. that?" Well, I'm saying Jesus.

  584. >> Amen.

  585. >> Jesus was endued with flesh. Hey, God

  586. conceived him in the womb of Mary. God

  587. wrapped him in flesh. And you know what?

  588. He had more beauty.

  589. >> Yeah.

  590. >> Amen. God placed the beauty upon him. He

  591. was more beautiful than his brethren.

  592. How is that? Well, his behavior made him

  593. sto out. But I'll say this, his his his

  594. beauty made him stick out.

  595. >> Amen.

  596. >> The Bible talks about how beautiful are

  597. the feet of them that preach the gospel

  598. that bring glad tidings of good things.

  599. I'm saying to you that the beauty makes

  600. you distinct.

  601. >> Right?

  602. >> Why is why was he distinct in his

  603. behavior? Why was he distinct in his

  604. birth? Why was he distinct in his

  605. beauty? It's because his father's love.

  606. >> Right?

  607. >> You think about this. His birth was

  608. distinct because his father loved him

  609. more than the rest. His behavior was

  610. distinct because his father loved him

  611. more than the rest. His beauty was

  612. distinct because his father loved him

  613. more than the rest. Let me say this to

  614. you this this morning, young people. I

  615. know this ain't normally how I preach,

  616. okay? But y'all hang with me. All right?

  617. You just remember God loves you

  618. >> more than anybody else. Right.

  619. >> You say, "Preacher, if he loves

  620. everybody the same, but he loves me like

  621. I was his only child." That's that's the

  622. thing. See, he loves us all maximum.

  623. >> You're right.

  624. >> He couldn't love us more. He couldn't

  625. love us less. God loves us all to the

  626. maximum. And if it had been just for me,

  627. you know what? He just sent Christ to

  628. die at Calvary.

  629. >> Amen. And so, he loves me. You know why?

  630. My my behavior ought to be distinct. My

  631. birth is distinct. My behavior ought to

  632. be distinct. And my beauty ought to be

  633. distinct. I'm not talking about

  634. physically. Amen. I'm talking about I've

  635. been arrayed. I've been robed IN THE

  636. RIGHTEOUSNESS OF JESUS CHRIST and the

  637. coat of MANY COLORS IS UPON MY LIFE

  638. BECAUSE IT'S BEEN GIVEN TO ME. HEY,

  639. JOSEPH DIDN'T HAVE ANY BEAUTY TO MAKE

  640. HIM DISTINCT IN HIMSELF. BUT IT WAS THAT

  641. COAT THAT HIS FATHER PUT ON HIM.

  642. SOMEBODY HELP ME PREACH THIS MORNING.

  643. I'M SAYING HE WAS DISTINCT. AND BECAUSE

  644. OF THAT, HIS brethren hated him. The

  645. world will hate you

  646. >> for your distinction,

  647. >> but bear to be different.

  648. >> Be that kid that brings their Bible to

  649. the lunchroom.

  650. >> Amen.

  651. >> Be that kid that has a New Testament in

  652. their pocket. Be that kid that MORE THAN

  653. APPS AND GOOGLE AND EVERYTHING ELSE ON

  654. YOUR PHONE, HAVE BIBLE ON THERE AND HAVE

  655. BOOKS ON THERE TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD.

  656. SET YOURSELF APART FROM THE WORLD IN

  657. YOUR TIME. LET YOUR TIME BE GIVEN TO GOD

  658. AND HIS WORD AND PRAYER AND TO CHURCH

  659. AND MEETINGS AND MINISTRIES. FIGURE OUT

  660. HOW YOU CAN SERVE. FIGURE OUT HOW YOU

  661. CAN STAND FOR GOD. BE DIFFERENT THAN THE

  662. WORLD.

  663. >> You say, "Preacher, I don't like that as

  664. a parent." Well, let me tell you, THIS

  665. WORLD'S GOING TO DIE AND GO TO HELL IF

  666. SOME kids don't get different. You're

  667. >> right.

  668. >> You know why? Because you're not trying

  669. to be different.

  670. >> I can't reach you. Preachers been

  671. preaching to you 30 years before I come.

  672. But I can reach them. They're listening.

  673. >> Yes.

  674. >> Why is that? People are hard-hearted.

  675. >> Come on.

  676. >> I hit a stump right there. But it's the

  677. truth.

  678. >> I want to reach them because I want them

  679. to know they don't have to live through

  680. what their parents live through. THEY

  681. DON'T HAVE TO LIVE THROUGH THE MESS THAT

  682. THEIR FRIENDS AND THEIR FAMILY GO

  683. THROUGH. THEY CAN HAVE A BETTER LIFE.

  684. THEY CAN HAVE A DIFFERENT BEHAVIOR. THEY

  685. CAN HAVE A DIFFERENT BEAUTY. HEY,

  686. THERE'S A PURITY THAT THEY CAN KEEP AND

  687. REMAIN. WOULD SOMEBODY SAY AMEN IN THE

  688. BUILDING? DON'T YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN

  689. TO BE ABLE TO GO TO THE MARRIAGE ALTAR

  690. PURE? WOULD SOME DADDY SAY AMEN THIS

  691. MORNING? I'M SAYING THERE OUGHT TO BE A

  692. DISTINCTION. WE OUGHT TO BE DIFFERENT

  693. THAN THIS WORLD. AMEN.

  694. >> YOU'RE RIGHT.

  695. >> We ought to be different. We ought to be

  696. distinct. The world will hate you for

  697. it.

  698. >> But I'll tell you what, there's a

  699. blessing from it.

  700. >> Amen.

  701. >> His distinction his distinction was his

  702. was his father's love. They hated him.

  703. You just know when the world picks on

  704. you and mocks you for the way you live

  705. and how you act, you just know that your

  706. God loves you.

  707. >> Amen.

  708. >> Your father loves you.

  709. >> And if everybody else walks out on you,

  710. just remember that he's going to be

  711. there.

  712. >> They hated him because of his

  713. distinction. They hated him not only

  714. because of his distinction, but they

  715. also hated him because of his

  716. declaration. Look what the Bible says in

  717. verse number four. And when his brethren

  718. saw that their father loved him more

  719. than all his brethren, they they hated

  720. him and could not speak peacefully unto

  721. them. Now here here's what's

  722. interesting. The world has always got so

  723. much to say,

  724. >> right?

  725. >> But every bit of it nasty,

  726. >> notice that it says they hated him more

  727. and they could not. It was physically

  728. impossible for them to speak peacefully

  729. unto them. Here's a good measure. When

  730. you know that the world is completely

  731. against you, just know you're probably

  732. going in the right direction.

  733. >> Amen. When society says you're a fool

  734. and you're crazy, you've lost your mind,

  735. just know you probably hit it in the

  736. right way. Amen. If you're walking by

  737. that book and everybody, the devil, your

  738. family, your friends, everybody else

  739. looks at you and says you're crazy.

  740. >> Just know you probably right.

  741. >> Amen.

  742. >> Amen. If you're following this book,

  743. you're not probably right. You are

  744. right. Somebody say amen. Verse number

  745. five, look what he says. And Joseph

  746. dreamed a dream, and he told it his

  747. brethren, and they hated him yet the

  748. more. The world hates Jesus because of

  749. his distinction. The world's going to

  750. hate the church because of its

  751. distinction. But I'll say this, the

  752. world hate hates Jesus because of his

  753. declaration.

  754. >> Yeah.

  755. >> Look what the Bible says in verse six.

  756. And he said unto them, "Hear I pray you

  757. this dream which I dreamed. For behold,

  758. we were binding sheav in the field. And

  759. lo, my sheep arose and also stood

  760. upright. And behold, your sheep stood

  761. round about and made obedience to my

  762. sheath. You see, he was distinct because

  763. of his father's love. But I'll say this,

  764. he had a declaration because he was

  765. faithful to listen.

  766. >> Say, what do you mean? Well, notice the

  767. text again. Look what he says. Verse

  768. number five. And Joseph dreamed a dream.

  769. Now, I want you to know this morning.

  770. You're not going to have a dream. Okay?

  771. You might have a dream, but I wouldn't

  772. trust him. Okay? Let me just say this to

  773. you. God dealt with dreams. this way cuz

  774. they didn't have a whole Bible.

  775. >> You're right.

  776. >> We got a Bible here.

  777. >> Amen.

  778. >> Amen. And so, you know what them dreams

  779. represent?

  780. >> Represent that book right there.

  781. >> Right.

  782. >> And the Bible says, "And Joseph dreamed

  783. a dream." You see this dream that Joseph

  784. had, he would have he could have chose

  785. to keep that to himself. Now, remember,

  786. he's distinct. Ain't that right?

  787. >> He's distinct. He's distinct in his

  788. birth. He's distinct in his behavior.

  789. He's distinct in his beauty. And so

  790. because of that, Amen. He had a dream.

  791. >> Right?

  792. >> You don't read none of these other boys

  793. having a dream, do you?

  794. >> Right.

  795. >> Think about this. All right. If we're

  796. born again, you're saved by the grace of

  797. God. You're distinct. You've been set

  798. apart by Jesus Christ.

  799. >> You know what you have

  800. >> on the inside.

  801. >> Amen.

  802. >> Man, I tell you, I love this. When when

  803. a young gets saved and they have no clue

  804. about the word of God, they've never

  805. heard nothing. They don't know anything.

  806. And you know what? You see them a day or

  807. two later and you talk to them, they

  808. say, "Well, I just there's just some

  809. things I was doing. It just didn't feel

  810. right anymore."

  811. >> That's right.

  812. >> Nobody's told them anything.

  813. >> Come on.

  814. >> Nobody said anything to them. It's

  815. because the Holy Ghost on the inside

  816. said

  817. >> that's right.

  818. >> But something on the inside says, "Nope.

  819. That ain't right no more.

  820. >> Come on.

  821. >> Don't feel right. That ain't right.

  822. Don't do that." No. Nobody's heard any

  823. They ain't heard no word of God about

  824. nothing. I tell you what, ain't it good

  825. when the word reinforces that?

  826. >> Amen. Joseph has this dream. I'll tell

  827. you this. If you're saved by the grace

  828. of God, you will have the spirit of God

  829. speak to you. You're right.

  830. >> Amen. And you better be faithful to

  831. listen.

  832. >> Amen.

  833. >> Amen. What was his dream? What was his

  834. declaration? Number one, his declaration

  835. of is of what he would become. Oh, I

  836. love this. For behold, we were binding

  837. sheav in the field. And lo, notice this.

  838. My sheath arose. Now, I'm going to take

  839. time out right there for just a minute.

  840. Why the world hates Jesus? They hate him

  841. because of his distinction, but they

  842. hate him because of his declaration.

  843. >> You know what the Jews choked on every

  844. time Jesus preached.

  845. >> Come on.

  846. >> Was that when he come to this earth, he

  847. said he said you, he said, you tear this

  848. temper down three days, I'll raise it up

  849. again.

  850. >> Amen. And what did Joseph say? He said,

  851. he said, I had a dream. He said, my

  852. sheath arose.

  853. >> Yeah.

  854. >> You know what the world hated about

  855. Jesus declaration? He told him said,

  856. "Hey, I'm going to get up again."

  857. >> You're right.

  858. >> You don't have to get in on that. Amen.

  859. If you don't want to. Amen. But I'm just

  860. going to tell you, I about shouted the

  861. roof off my house when I read that. Say,

  862. "Preacher, that ain't literal." But it

  863. fits. Somebody say, "Amen." What did

  864. Jesus say to Nicodemus? He said, or he

  865. said to the disciples in chapter 12, he

  866. said, "Except a corn of wheat fall into

  867. the ground and die, it abideth alone.

  868. But if it die, it bringeth forth much

  869. much fruit." What does it be doing? IT

  870. BE THAT SHE AMEN. That corn OF WHEAT BE

  871. SPRINGING UP. AMEN. OH FRIEND, what I'm

  872. saying, Jesus told Nicodemus, HE SAID,

  873. "NOW, IF I BE LIFTED UP, I'll draw all

  874. men unto me." I'M SAYING HE WAS LIFTED

  875. UP. HE AROSE. WHY? BECAUSE HE SAID HE

  876. WOULD. AMEN. GOD SAID HE WOULD GET UP

  877. AND HE DID. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? THEY

  878. HATED HIM FOR THAT.

  879. >> YES.

  880. >> I tell you this, church, youngans, the

  881. world hates you because of what you're

  882. going to become.

  883. >> Yes. That's good.

  884. >> You see, if you're faithful to listen,

  885. the sky is the limit.

  886. >> Amen.

  887. >> That's that's what I love about this

  888. thing. You don't have to be a great

  889. ortor.

  890. >> Yeah.

  891. >> You don't have to be great at anything.

  892. All you have to do is be good listener.

  893. >> Amen.

  894. >> Amen. And let the Holy Ghost of God.

  895. Take that book speak to your heart. And

  896. you know what'll happen? Them dreams in

  897. your life will become reality.

  898. >> Amen.

  899. >> Amen. What I'm saying is in our terms,

  900. faith will become sight. Hallelujah.

  901. Bless his name. They hated him because

  902. his declaration was of what he would

  903. become. But I'll tell you this, they

  904. hated him because his declaration was

  905. not only of what he would become, but

  906. it's how they would bow to him. Notice

  907. what the Bible said in verse 7. And lo,

  908. my she arose. I can't get past that.

  909. Amen. Hallelujah. He's alive. He got up.

  910. Somebody say amen.

  911. >> And also stood upright. He's still

  912. standing at the right hand of God.

  913. Hallelujah. Verse number seven. And

  914. behold, your she stood round about and

  915. made obedience unto my sheath.

  916. They hated him because of what he what

  917. he said he would become. But they also

  918. hated him because he told them how they

  919. were going to bow. You know why the

  920. world hates Jesus? Because everything

  921. that he said about himself was true and

  922. is going to happen.

  923. >> Yes, sir.

  924. >> But the world hates Jesus because

  925. everything he said about the world is

  926. true

  927. >> and is going to happen. Yeah.

  928. >> The world doesn't want to hear the fact

  929. that every knee shall bow.

  930. >> Amen.

  931. >> And every tongue that shall confess that

  932. Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God

  933. the Father. I'm saying the truth is this

  934. morning they don't want to receive that

  935. message.

  936. >> Amen.

  937. >> You know what? When you were lost, you

  938. didn't want to receive it either.

  939. >> Right.

  940. >> Amen. Cuz that means you are wrong.

  941. >> Amen.

  942. >> You know what I see a problem with in

  943. this damn time? People are unwilling to

  944. separate from things they have done for

  945. their entire life just because they've

  946. done it for that long.

  947. >> Doesn't matter whether it's right or

  948. not.

  949. >> Come on.

  950. >> Amen. They're unwilling to follow THE

  951. BIBLE. WELL, WE'VE ALWAYS DONE it that

  952. way. Well, WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

  953. >> AMEN.

  954. >> WELL, SUCH AND SUCH TAUGHT ME THIS. WHAT

  955. DOES THE BIBLE SAY? Where is the final

  956. authority? Listen to me this morning.

  957. When it comes to our life, your and

  958. mine, faith and practice, EVERY PART OF

  959. WHAT WE DO AND WHO WE ARE F RISES AND

  960. FALLS on this Bible. And the truth is

  961. your life, everything rises and falls on

  962. leadership. And so what's your

  963. leadership?

  964. >> Come on.

  965. >> Who's leading you?

  966. >> LET ME ASK YOU THIS. WHAT'S leading you?

  967. >> Is tradition leading you or is truth

  968. leading you?

  969. >> Amen.

  970. >> You see these boys here in this text,

  971. you know what they were doing? They were

  972. following tradition. They were acting

  973. just like their daddy.

  974. >> Come on.

  975. >> That's right.

  976. >> Amen.

  977. >> ALL THEM BROTHERS. AMEN. WHAT WAS THEIR

  978. PROBLEM? THEY ACTED JUST LIKE JACOB AND

  979. ESAU. FULL OF HATRED AND FULL OF MALICE.

  980. FULL OF BITTERNESS and and scheming and

  981. conniving ALL THE TIME. THEY WERE

  982. FOLLOWING in tradition. Tradition is

  983. nothing but a dead end ditch.

  984. >> Truth is where you'll find life.

  985. >> Amen.

  986. >> And Joseph here has given them truth.

  987. You know why they didn't like it?

  988. Because it was new.

  989. >> You're right.

  990. >> Well, daddy didn't tell us that.

  991. >> Daddy didn't tell us that you were going

  992. to reign over us.

  993. Isaac, grandpa didn't say that you were

  994. going to reign over us. Jacob's had a

  995. dream for himself.

  996. >> You know what, young people? Listen to

  997. me. There's going to be truth that God

  998. shows you in your life that your mom and

  999. daddy haven't even seen.

  1000. >> You're right.

1001. >> Boy, I wish somebody hook up with this

1002. brother Rick. I'm telling you this

  1003. morning. Here's what I'm telling you.

  1004. Okay.

1005. They hated him because of his

1006. declaration. If you're saved, you going

1007. to have to tell somebody.

  1008. >> You're right.

1009. >> And if you're saved, you going to have

1010. to show somebody you're living right.

1011. You going to have to tell them why you

1012. don't do some things. You're right. When

1013. they invite you to go to the party and

1014. get drunk and do all the other things

1015. that go along with that, you're going to

1016. have to tell them why. Because they're

1017. not going to let you go without asking

  1018. you why.

  1019. >> Yeah.

1020. >> Why? I'm distinct. And so, I'm going to

1021. declare to you, I have no part in that.

  1022. >> I had a dream,

1023. God told me, can't do that.

1024. >> You know what happens when you tell

1025. people that? You know what you're doing?

  1026. You're condemning them.

1027. You say, "Preacher, but I don't want to

1028. condemn them." You don't have to. But

1029. when you tell them that you're going a

1030. different way, you know what? In their

  1031. heart, they just

1032. >> cuz they hate that.

  1033. >> You're right.

  1034. >> Flesh hates that.

1035. >> The world's going to hate you for that.

1036. >> The world hated Jesus. For his

1037. declaration of what he would become and

1038. how they would bow to him. You see, this

1039. first dream that he has in verse number

1040. seven represents the famine. He mentions

  1041. these sheavs.

1042. Lo, my sheath arose. You know the story

1043. of Joseph goes down the road. Of course

1044. he goes gets sold into slavery at

  1045. Potter's house in Potterer's house ends

1046. up in the prison out of the prison into

  1047. Pharaoh's palace. And then in Pharaoh's

1048. palace, famine strikes, seven years of

1049. good, seven years of bad. That last

1050. seven years, those those men come, his

1051. family comes down there. You know the

1052. story. And the only place that's got

  1053. bread and wheats, Egypt.

  1054. >> You're right.

1055. >> And who's over all of it?

  1056. >> Joseph.

  1057. >> He's telling them that there's a famine

1058. going to come. Joseph doesn't even know

1059. that. Listen to me, young people. Well,

1060. you might you don't even know what

1061. you're doing right now. What God could

1062. be doing in your future. God may be

1063. telling you something right now to

1064. prepare you for what's down the road. I

1065. wish I could tell you some personal

1066. examples, but I ain't got time to deal

1067. with that this morning. I'm telling you,

1068. he'll lead you years down the road.

  1069. >> Amen.

  1070. >> You're right.

1071. >> He will. His declaration, but it'll only

  1072. be if you're faithful. If you're a

1073. faithful listener. Amen. They're They

1074. hate him because of his distinction.

1075. They hate him because of his

1076. declaration. This world hates the

  1077. gospel.

1078. >> It's good news to us. It's the power of

1079. God under salvation to them that

  1080. believe. But I'll tell you this, it's a

  1081. stumbling block

1082. >> to this world. They hate it.

1083. >> But I'll say this and I'm done. They

1084. hate him because of his distinction.

1085. They hate him because of his

1086. declaration. But they hate him the most

  1087. because of his dominion.

  1088. >> Amen.

  1089. >> Because of his dominion. Now he's he's

1090. told them here of the famine. He's

1091. mentioned his family. Notice that in

1092. verse n he dreamed he had another dream

1093. and told it his brethren said, "Behold,

1094. I dreamed a dream more. Behold the son,

1095. the moon, the 11 stars made obedience to

1096. me. The son of course being Jacob, the

1097. moon being his mother, and then the 11

  1098. stars are his brethren.

1099. >> And look what Jacob says to him. And

1100. verse number, and he told it, verse 10,

1101. he told to his father, to his brethren,

1102. and his father rebuked him and said unto

1103. him, what is this dream that thou has

1104. dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy

1105. brethren indeed come to bow down

1106. ourselves to thee to the earth? And his

1107. brethren envied him, but his father

1108. observed the same. You see, Joseph here

1109. in the text, he tells him, "Hey boys,

1110. I'm going to be over all of you." He

1111. doesn't say it like that, but Joseph in

  1112. humility, he's just a young man. I don't

1113. believe there was an ounce of pride in

1114. Joseph. But he was just telling them,

1115. "Hey, God told me this." Let me say

1116. this, young people. When you tell

1117. somebody something God dealt with your

1118. heart, make sure there's no pride. Yeah.

1119. >> Make sure that just because you're right

1120. doesn't mean you have a right to be uh

  1121. just

  1122. disrespectful.

  1123. >> Amen.

1124. >> We know we're right about what this

1125. Bible says. I'm sure there's things we

1126. miss. Amen. Ain't that right? We're not

  1127. perfect,

  1128. >> right?

1129. >> But I know that we're close and the

1130. world's going to disagree. But we don't

1131. have to be disrespectful. Let me put

1132. that out there. But I'll say this, the

1133. reason we don't have to be disrespectful

1134. is because here in this text, Joseph his

1135. he was he was he was distinct because of

1136. his father's love. He had a declaration

1137. because of his faithful listening. But

1138. I'll say his dominion represent

  1139. represented his future lordship.

1140. You see, Joseph had a future. You know

1141. why the world has a problem with what we

1142. do and who we are? It's because we have

  1143. a future,

  1144. >> right?

  1145. >> They don't have a future.

  1146. >> They're living for here and that's it.

1147. They're living for this life and that's

1148. all there is. They have nothing else to

  1149. gain. They're no different.

1150. >> They've got nothing to look forward to.

1151. >> And when Joseph's in this in this text,

1152. his dream reveals that they're going to

1153. bow unto him, he's revealing to them

1154. number one, the deity of his position.

1155. And I I want to get I want you to get

1156. this. All right. The world hates Jesus

  1157. because he's God.

  1158. >> You're right.

  1159. >> Amen.

1160. >> They hate that he's going to dominate,

1161. that he's going to have dominion over

1162. all. God has already put all things

1163. under his feet. The Bible says HE IS GOD

1164. IN FLESH AND HE IS DEITY.

1165. >> HIS POSITION IS THE RIGHT HAND OF THE

1166. FATHER AND ALL AUTHORITY IS GIVEN INTO

1167. HIS HANDS. IN REVELATION IN CHAPTER

1168. NUMBER 19 WHEN THE WORLD stands before

1169. him. He said I saw him that SAT ON THE

1170. WHITE THAT WHITE THRONE. HE SAID FROM

1171. WHOSE FACE THE EARTH AND HEAVEN FLED

1172. AWAY AND THERE WAS FOUND NO PLACE FOR

1173. THEM. YOU KNOW WHO THAT WAS? THAT'S

  1174. JESUS.

  1175. >> AMEN.

1176. >> He is deity is God. HIS POSITION IS ALL

1177. AUTHORITY. AND THEY HATED him for that.

  1178. >> RIGHT?

1179. >> THEY HATED JOSEPH BECAUSE OF HIS

1180. AUTHORITY. YOUNG PEOPLE, listen to me.

1181. You are not God. BUT LET ME TELL YOU,

1182. YOU ARE JOINT AIR WITH JESUS CHRIST.

  1183. >> RIGHT?

  1184. >> You have authority.

  1185. >> Amen.

1186. >> Oh my. Could we get a hold to that?

  1187. >> Yes.

1188. >> That we have authority

  1189. >> in heaven.

  1190. >> Amen.

1191. >> You say, "Preacher, can I make decisions

1192. for God?" No, YOU CAN MAKE DECISIONS

  1193. WITH GOD.

  1194. >> AMEN.

1195. >> OH, did anybody hear that? Amen.

  1196. >> We have a divine guidance.

1197. >> The deity of his position thing about

1198. this, not only the duty of his position,

1199. but the divinity of his power. Joseph

1200. was going to have power and be second in

1201. command over all the land.

  1202. >> Right?

  1203. >> It was God-given power.

  1204. >> Yes.

1205. >> God endued him with that power. What do

  1206. we have?

  1207. >> Come on.

1208. >> What was the GREAT COMMISSION? SOMEBODY

1209. TELL ME. ACTS CHAPTER 1 and verse NUMBER

    Acts 1 chapter mention

1210. EIGHT. YE SHALL RECEIVE POWER

1211. >> AFTER THAT THE HOLY GHOST HAS COME UPON

1212. YOU. YOU THINK ABOUT JESUS. JESUS HAD

1213. ALL POWER on this earth.

  1214. >> Right?

1215. >> God had invested him with all the power

1216. and order that HE MIGHT BRING REDEMPTION

1217. AND SALVATION TO THE HUMAN RACE. AND

1218. BECAUSE OF THAT, THE WORLD HATED HIM.

1219. THE WORLD HATED HIM BECAUSE OF HIS

1220. DOMINION. THE WORLD HATED HIM BECAUSE OF

  1221. HIS DEATH.

1222. >> RIGHT. They hated the fact that he would

1223. die sacrificially. When they when they

1224. put him on the cross, they couldn't kill

1225. him. But as they thought they were

1226. killing him, they're thinking, "Well,

1227. this man thinks he's dying for the sins

  1228. of all."

  1229. >> Come on.

1230. >> And what they didn't know that he was.

  1231. >> Amen.

1232. >> They hated him the more for that. You're

  1233. >> right.

1234. >> When you give your life a sacrifice

1235. under Jesus Christ to live for him, the

1236. world's going to look at you and say,

1237. "Oh, they think they're just better than

1238. us just because they're living for God."

1239. >> No. You know what the truth is? We know

  1240. we're not.

  1241. >> Amen.

1242. We know at the end of the DAY THAT

1243. THERE'S NOTHING GOOD IN US. WE KNOW THAT

  1244. THERE'S NOTHING WORTHY, THAT THERE'S

1245. NOTHING BLESSED OTHER THAN WHAT GOD HAS

  1246. GIVEN US.

1247. >> We have divine power.

1248. We have position with God. But I'll say

1249. this, I promise I'm done right here.

1250. They hated his dominion because of his

1251. deity, because of his divinity. They

1252. hated his his dominion because of the

  1253. deliverance

  1254. >> of his people.

1255. You see, Joseph would have to reign in

1256. order that they might be spared. You

1257. see, his entire family would have

1258. starved, would have had nothing and been

  1259. left for dead,

  1260. >> right?

1261. >> If it had not been for Joseph having

  1262. dominion.

1263. And you say, "Preacher, well, in my

1264. life, I don't see all of it right now. I

  1265. don't see everything that you're telling

1266. me." Well, let me just give you this.

  1267. Joseph's still at home.

  1268. >> You're right.

1269. >> None of this has happened. Joseph is

1270. just being told this. Matter of fact,

1271. he's just been told this in a dream, but

1272. he believes it. He believes it enough

1273. that he's willing to tell his brethren.

1274. Oh, somebody hear the preacher this

1275. morning. What's happened to us, WHAT

1276. WE'VE HEARD, WE OUGHT TO BELIEVE IT

1277. ENOUGH TO TELL IT TO SOMEBODY ELSE.

1278. >> And he WAS GOING TO BE THE one that

1279. would bring deliverance. But you see IN

1280. THIS TEXT THOUGH, HE WOULD BE THE ONE

1281. THAT would bring deliverance. this same

1282. chapter, his brethren deliver him to be

1283. stripped, to be scorned, and to be

  1284. slain. You're

  1285. >> right.

1286. >> You say, "Preacher, they didn't kill

1287. him, but they wanted to."

  1288. >> You're right.

1289. >> They would have if Reuben hadn't talked

1290. him out of it. Let me give you this. All

1291. right. When Jesus came to this earth,

1292. you know what? People thought his mother

1293. thought he was going to reign.

  1294. >> You're right.

1295. >> But you know what? He was spitting upon.

  1296. He was stripped.

1297. >> Yeah. Joseph was stripped of his

1298. garment. He was thrown in the pit. Jesus

1299. went to the cal went to Calvary. He

1300. didn't have he didn't go to hell. Amen.

1301. But he suffered death. The pit of death.

1302. That sting for us. But you know what?

1303. Joseph went through all of that so he

  1304. could save his brethren.

  1305. >> Amen.

1306. >> Jesus went through all of that so he

  1307. could save the church.

  1308. >> Amen.

1309. >> Let me say this to you, child of God.

1310. There may be people in your life that'll

1311. never hear the gospel if you don't give

  1312. it.

  1313. >> You're right.

1314. >> I'm saying the suffering that you go

  1315. through,

  1316. >> come on,

1317. >> in this life, the problems that you

1318. face, the situations, the agony, all the

1319. dysfunction, all of the defilement, all

1320. of that stuff that we deal with, God

1321. might be using that just so you can

  1322. deliver somebody.

  1323. >> Amen.

1324. I'm going to tell you why the world

  1325. hates Jesus.

  1326. Because he brought deliverance.

1327. >> You say, "Preacher, why is it that they

1328. hate him?" Because of his deliverance.

  1329. I'll be honest with you. I really don't

1330. understand it on this side. But I know

1331. in my flesh, here's what I know. In

1332. order to receive deliverance, you've got

1333. to recognize that you need it.

  1334. >> All right?

1335. >> And the reason the world hates his

1336. deliverance is because they say this,

  1337. "Jesus, I don't need that." Yeah.

1338. >> The Bible says, "The fool hath said in

1339. his heart, there is no God."

  1340. >> Amen.

1341. >> But if you read the original manuscript,

1342. it says this, "The foolath said in his

  1343. heart, no God.

  1344. No,

1345. I don't want what you have." And you

1346. know what? That's what every atheist

  1347. says.

  1348. >> Amen.

  1349. >> They can't say there's no God.

1350. You know what they say? No,

  1351. God.

1352. You know what I watch people do week in

1353. and week out in this church?

  1354. >> Come on.

  1355. >> No.

  1356. No.

1357. The world hates Jesus because he's

  1358. distinct. Because he's got a

  1359. declaration. I'm thankful it's still

  1360. sounding.

  1361. >> Amen.

1362. >> Paul said, "I delivered unto you first

1363. of all that which I also received." That

1364. declaration is still being given.

1365. >> I'll tell you this, one of these days,

1366. his dominion's going to be finalized.

  1367. Amen.

  1368. >> Amen.

1369. >> Every sinner that will be saved will be

1370. saved. And everyone that says no,

1371. >> will die and go to hell.

  1372. >> Amen.

1373. >> Every head bowed and every eye closed.

1374. Christians are praying. I want to ask

  1375. you this morning.

  1376. The world hates Jesus

1377. because he calls on them and says, "You

1378. need what I have to offer."

1379. Joseph's brethren hated Jesus or hated

  1380. Joseph because

1381. Joseph was telling him, "You're going to

  1382. need me."

1383. Listen to me this morning, sinner. If

1384. you turn God away again and say, "I

1385. don't need what you have to offer,"

1386. you're going to realize that you should

1387. have took it one of these days.

1388. If this is the last chance and you walk

1389. out of here lost, here's what you're

1390. going to find out. You're going to find

1391. out that at the very end of this thing,

1392. you really did need that gospel.

1393. >> You really did need that salvation that

1394. preacher preached about. You really did

1395. need that forgiveness. You really did

1396. need that mercy and that grace. You

1397. needed that spirit on the inside. You're

1398. going to realize you needed every bit of

  1399. that.

1400. But I tell you what's more sad than that

1401. is somebody to say, "No, I don't need

1402. it." Here's what's more sad than that.

1403. You say, "Preacher, how could anything

1404. be more sad than that?" And here I'll

1405. tell you is for you to sit here this

1406. morning and know you need it.

  1407. >> Yes.

1408. >> And know that you need salvation and

1409. know that you need the grace of God, but

1410. yet TURN AND WALK OUT OF HERE BEING

  1411. WILLFULLY ignorant

  1412. of his grace.

  1413. >> Amen.

  1414. >> And saying, "Preacher, I know that I I

1415. need that, but I don't want it."

1416. I pray to God in heaven that there's

1417. nobody here that's like that this

  1418. morning.

  1419. You say, "Preacher,

1420. I need to be saved."

1421. Would you pray for me? Ain't nobody

1422. looking around but me. I want to ask

1423. you, do you need to be saved this

1424. morning? Would you be honest when you

1425. and God? Preacher, I need to be saved.

1426. Slip your hand up and back down. I want

1427. to pray for you. Preacher, I'm not

  1428. saved.

1429. Say, "Preacher, why you do this every

  1430. week?" cuz I don't want to miss a

1431. service without giving somebody a

  1432. chance.

1433. >> You see, God wouldn't lead me to preach

1434. these messages if somebody wasn't here

  1435. lost.

  1436. >> Amen.

1437. >> And furthermore, your life tails on you.

1438. You're either lost or you're out of the

1439. will of God. Far, far out of the will of

  1440. God.

1441. Preacher, would you pray for me? I'm

  1442. just I'm not sure.

1443. God will appreciate your honesty.

  1444. I appreciate your honesty, preacher. I'm

1445. not sure. Would you pray for me? Anybody

1446. be honest? Slip your hand up. Hold it

1447. up. Preacher. I'm not sure.

1448. Let me say this to you this morning,

  1449. child of God.

1450. We've been called to be distinct.

1451. And here's the thing about it. The world

1452. may not see what you have as beautiful.

1453. The world not may not notice your

  1454. behavior being different.

1455. And the world may not recognize your

1456. birth. But I'll tell you this, you got a

1457. declaration that you can give.

1458. Not about a dream that you've had, but

1459. about an experience you had with God.

  1460. That's what Joseph's experience was. He

1461. had a place in his life where God spoke

  1462. to him.

1463. You know what you can tell others for

1464. the rest of your life? God saved me and

1465. he's given me his word and he speaks to

1466. me each and every day. You say,

1467. "Preacher, I want to be that one to tell

  1468. others

1469. what he's done for me, how he spoke to

1470. me." Preacher, I want to be that one.

  1471. Anybody

1472. preacher? I want to be that one.

1473. God sees that hand, buddy.

1474. Let me tell you, you ought to slip your

1475. hand up if you want to be that way.

  1476. One person

1477. One young man bold enough say,

1478. "Preacher, you know I want to do that."

1479. Well, how can I expect you to do it out

1480. there if you won't even slip your hand

  1481. up in here?

  1482. >> Yes.

  1483. >> Let's try that again, preacher.

1484. I want to be the one.

1485. Now, make take that resolve.

1486. Take it with you out those doors. Cuz

1487. you know what you going to have to do?

1488. You going to have to fight the flesh.

1489. >> Amen. just like you just did.

1490. And I'm going to be real honest with

1491. you. It's a lot easier in here than it

  1492. is out there.

1493. Father, I pray Lord, you give us all

  1494. holy boldness,

1495. Lord. Cuz I know that the world

  1496. hates you.

1497. But Lord, you told us to not be marveled

  1498. by that.

1499. But Lord, to know that it hated you

  1500. before it hated us.

1501. God, I'm so thankful that though the

1502. world spurn us, scorn us, and reject us,

1503. we have entrance into your throne, we

  1504. have a future,

  1505. >> Lord, I don't have a

1506. concern about where my soul will be when

1507. I take my last breath. God, I'll finally

1508. be where I belong. In a place of perfect

  1509. perfection and holiness.

1510. Where there won't have to be any more

1511. preaching for people to get right.

1512. Where there won't have to be any more

1513. constraining for people to serve.

1514. Nor where every heart will be willing to

1515. sing and to serve and to stand and sing

1516. your praise for eternity. God, I pray

1517. that you'd salvage the church in these

1518. days. God, seems so few are interested.

  1519. Lord, I pray you'd bring revival.

1520. Grant it, Jesus, I pray. We ask it in

  1521. your son's name.

  1522. Amen.
