-
Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from
-
God.
-
Amen. Amen. I appreciate each one of you
-
being here tonight and appreciate dad,
-
my pastor, coming to fill in for me
-
tonight and help me. And I need it.
-
Amen. And I tell you what, if there's
-
anything I've discovered in the last
-
year, a couple years of pastoring is I
-
need preaching more than I ever have in
-
my life. And uh I'm so thankful he was
-
able to come be with us. And I
-
appreciate his faithfulness. I
-
appreciate his wisdom and his humility.
-
And I don't just say that just because
-
he's my dad, but he's the realest
-
preacher I know. And I thank God for
-
him. I know he's got something for us
-
tonight. You pray for him. And Lord will
-
help us. And be attentive to the word of
-
God. And I tell you this, you'll listen.
-
God will give you something.
-
>> And uh there's never been a time that
-
I've sat down to a church service where
-
where he preached and I didn't get
-
something that helped me. And I can
-
promise you he'll do the same for you
-
tonight. And I don't not like I said,
-
I'm not trying to lift man up. He is my
-
daddy. Amen. But he's God's man. And I
-
appreciate him. So, Dad, you preach for
-
us tonight. That's your water. And uh
-
Amen. Thank you. Love you.
-
>> Amen. Well, thank the Lord. Amen. It's
-
good to be in church. Amen. And it's
-
good to see you guys tonight. Glad we
-
was able to be here uh with you this
-
evening. And always excited to get to go
-
to church. And and I seen some more
-
Jesus freaks coming down the road. Amen.
-
A few people that cleaned their parking
-
lot off and decided to go to church
-
tonight. So, God bless you. Thank you
-
for Amen. braving the elements and being
-
at church and and I like it. 2
-
Chronicles tonight 31. Uh if you have
-
your Bible, you'll turn there. I've been
-
studying this on our Wednesday night
-
services for I think since November um
-
there at the church. And I had another
-
message I was going uh to tonight.
-
Charlie, I talked with him this morning
-
and uh and he asked me to come and be
-
with you guys this evening and our
-
Wednesday our Wednesday night, our
-
midweek services are moved to Thursday
-
uh through this month. And so, Amen. and
-
was glad we was able to come be with him
-
uh tonight. Amen. Be with you guys and
-
and uh Lord willing to be a help to you.
-
That's our heart's desire. And again, I
-
I thought I was going to be somewhere
-
else. Lord, change that this afternoon
-
and just confirmed it as we sit there
-
studying and praying. Uh but 2
-
Chronicles 31 and you find your place.
-
Uh find your place in verse number 11.
-
And uh we'll read the text. Uh amen
-
tonight. And I invite you to stand when
-
you find your place and we'll honor
-
reverence to reading the word of God.
-
and we'll read this text and I'll go
-
back and give you some background on
-
this. I know we've been in study there
-
at our church for this for several weeks
-
and I'll go back and give you some
-
background. I'm I'm going to preach out
-
verses 20 and 21 tonight, but I want to
-
give you this kind of lead up to where
-
we're going to preach at tonight. The
-
Bible says, "Then Hezekiah commanded uh
-
to prepare the chambers in the house of
-
the Lord. And they prepared them and
-
brought in the offerings and in the
-
tithes and the dedicated things
-
faithfully over which Kayiah uh the
-
Levite was ruler and Shimi his brother
-
was the next. and Jial and Aziah and
-
Nahath and Ashel and Gerimoth and Jose
-
and Eliel and Ishmachiah and Mayath and
-
Beniah uh were overseers. I'm thankful
-
for John and Beal and Sue. Amen.
-
Somebody say amen right there. But
-
anyway, we'll move on here. It says,
-
"And there were overseers under the hand
-
of Kai Shimi's brother, at the commanded
-
of Hezekiah, the king, and Azerai, the
-
ruler of the house of God. And Core, the
-
son of Emna, uh, the Levite, the porter
-
toward the east, was over the free will
-
offerings of God, uh, to distribute the
-
oblations of the Lord, uh, and the most
-
holy things." The next him were Eden and
-
Minimum and Jeshua and Shemiah and
-
Amoriah and Sheckchaniah in the cities
-
of the priests in their set office to
-
give uh to their brethren by courses as
-
well to the great as to the small.
-
beside their genealogy of males uh from
-
three years old and upward, even unto
-
everyone that enterth in to the house of
-
the Lord, his daily portion uh for their
-
service in their charge uh charges
-
according to their courses, both to the
-
genealogy of the priests, by the house
-
of their fathers, and the Levites from
-
20 years old and upward in their charges
-
uh by their courses and to the genealogy
-
of all their little ones, their wives,
-
their sons, their daughters, through all
-
the congregation. And for there said
-
Alphas, they sanctified themselves in
-
holiness. Also the sons of Aaron uh the
-
priests which were in the fields of the
-
suburbs of their cities and every
-
several city the men that were expressed
-
by name to give portions to all the
-
males among the priests and to all that
-
were reckoned by the genealogies among
-
the Levites. Thus did Hezekiah
-
throughout all Judah and wrought that
-
which was good and right and truth
-
before the Lord his God. And in every
-
work that he began in the service of the
-
house of God, in the law and in the
-
commandments to seek his God, he did it
-
with all his heart and he prospered.
-
Heavenly Father, as we bow this evening,
-
I want to say thank you, God, for the
-
house of God. Thank you for letting us
-
uh be back, Lord. I know it's been a
-
while for us at Mountaintop to be at
-
church. And I know it's been a while for
-
the folks here at Metas, God. It's been
-
good, though, Lord, to be able to come
-
tonight, Lord. Just the anticipation of
-
getting to be in the house of God. I
-
appreciate your people that's faithful
-
uh to come, Lord, regardless of what's
-
going on on the outside. I know there's
-
times when it's not safe to come, Lord.
-
Lord, I'm glad for those that come,
-
Lord, and are faithful, God, when they
-
can. And Lord, give their uh themselves
-
to you, Father, to worship you, Lord,
-
and to receive of you what you have for
-
them. God, I pray you bless tonight and
-
bless every heart that's in a place,
-
Lord, the children classes, Lord, please
-
be with them and help them tonight, God.
-
if there's one here that's lost tonight.
-
I pray God they'd realize their need to
-
be saved. And Lord, for those dear
-
saints that are faithful, encourage them
-
and strengthen them, God. Uh Lord, to do
-
your work. And Lord, help us in these
-
days, God, just to magnify your name and
-
shine for you. And we'll thank you, God,
-
for that you do, Lord. Open our our our
-
mind and our ears, uh Lord, what you had
-
to say to us, God, in our heart most of
-
all, God, that we be helped tonight in
-
Jesus precious name we do pray. Amen.
-
And amen. You can be seated. and thank
-
you for standing. And uh I again I've
-
been preaching on this for some time and
-
and uh we we see here in the text we go
-
back in chapter number 29. I won't spend
-
a lot of time uh in this but chapter
-
number 29 we know that Hezekiah comes
-
into uh rule there in Judah uh after his
-
father Ahaz had ruled there uh 16 years
-
and he did that which was wicked in the
-
sight of the Lord. We see Hezekiah,
-
amen, comes into reign and he does the
-
opposite of what his daddy does. He he
-
turns things around for Judah and he set
-
his heart, amen, to serve the Lord. And
-
we believe it was because of his mama.
-
Praise God. You study about his mama.
-
Amen. You'll know that her name, Amen,
-
it means uh Jehovah is God. And and when
-
you look at that, Amen. You see that
-
most likely it was she, amen, that amen,
-
led him in the right way of the Lord.
-
And so, thank God for good, godly mamas.
-
Amen. And that we're reading about a man
-
here that done a great work uh in Judah
-
because of his mama. Praise God. And I
-
appreciate that. But we come here and we
-
see that that Hezekiah uh has brought
-
revival into the land of Judah. We see
-
that the first thing he did was open up
-
the house of God. Amen. When it' been
-
closed up, when his daddy had closed the
-
doors on it. And man, they went out. Uh
-
they was worshiping in the hills and the
-
groves at the rock and at the stump and
-
you know the all the names that we could
-
go on and say tonight. BUT HE OPENED UP
-
THE HOUSE OF GOD AGAIN. AMEN. Got those
-
priests and Levites. Amen. Told them to
-
clean themselves up and and man, they
-
started cleaning themselves up and those
-
servants of God got right with God and
-
they and then we seen that he said that
-
THEY CONSECRATED THE HOUSE of God. IN
-
OTHER WORDS, THEY THEY SET it back in
-
order and and then he called for the
-
Passover and they sent letters out by
-
the post all over Judah and uh the
-
southern kingdom. Then he told them,
-
"Hey, SAY GO INTO ISRAEL AND INVITE
-
THEM, AMEN, TO COME TO THE PASSOVER.
-
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A meeting here." And
-
and man, WE WANT TO GET THINGS BACK IN
-
ORDER AND and we see that there's many
-
that come and many that made fun of him
-
and mocked at him, but many come and you
-
remember that first Passover, man, it
-
was so good. They went seven days, you
-
know, the Passover. Amen. That uh Amen.
-
It wasn't the uh the first uh uh uh or
-
the the the 14th day of the first month
-
they did, but it was the the in the
-
second month that they was able to do it
-
because it WAS GETTING THE HOUSE OF GOD
-
RIGHT. AMEN. In that first month, in
-
that second month, amen, they had that
-
Passover, man. It was so good. AND
-
PEOPLE GOT SO RIGHT WITH GOD, THEY
-
DECIDED TO GO SEVEN more days. Amen. And
-
man, they just had a meeting, man.
-
People got right. And where we come to
-
in our text here and what we read
-
tonight, uh, there in chapter number 31
-
is there's been 14 years of the glory
-
there in Judah.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> 14 years. I'm not talking about, you
-
know, a twoe meeting and then everybody
-
goes back to doing the same old thing
-
that they've always been doing. I mean,
-
14 years. You You remember that we we
-
look back in verse number 12. Amen. THAT
-
THEY HAD SET THE HOUSE OF GOD IN ORDER.
-
AMEN. THAT BROUGHT THE TITHES IN AND MAN
-
THAT'S SERVING GOD AND DOING THE WORK OF
-
GOD. AMEN. LOOK AT THAT VERSE NUMBER 12.
-
IT SAYS, "AND THEY BROUGHT THE OFFERINGS
-
AND THE TITHES AND THE DEDICATED
-
THINGS." LOOK AT THAT WORD FAITHFULLY.
-
>> RIGHT,
-
>> MAN. God did a work.
-
>> They did it faithfully. And then and I
-
may have told you it wasn't 14 years.
-
It's not till chapter 32. I was into
-
another study, but in chapter number 32,
-
between chapter 31 and chapter 32 is 14
-
years. Amen. And they continued doing
-
that, you know. And that's what real
-
revival looks like. Amen. When it
-
changes you and that change, listen,
-
takes a a a place in your heart and man,
-
you become a different creature. Listen,
-
and you're not INTERESTED IN GOING BACK
-
TO THAT OLD WAY OF LIFE. YOU'RE NOT
-
INTERESTED IN IN GOING BACK TO THAT
-
HOHAM CHRISTIANITY AND JUST DOING,
-
LISTEN, just enough TO GET BY. YOU KNOW,
-
THAT'S WHERE people live today. Most
-
people that are saved got just enough
-
Jesus to make them miserable. Right.
-
>> I mean, man, they got in AND THEY WAS
-
EXCITED ABOUT THE LORD. AMEN. AND THEY
-
WANTED TO GO TO CHURCH, MAN. THEY WANTED
-
TO SERVE GOD.
-
>> I MEAN, IT WASN'T just something THAT WE
-
DID. IT WAS WHO WE ARE. AMEN. And and we
-
see that's who THESE PEOPLE ARE. AND AND
-
WE'RE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT Hezekiah in
-
this in the verses 20 and 21 tonight.
-
And and and I want to I want to preach
-
on this thought tonight on the on the
-
root of revival. I'm talking about the
-
root r o t but the root r o u t e like
-
root 66 you know the the way of revival
-
I guess that would be better understood
-
but the root of revival and and we
-
understand that revival is divine we
-
know that only God sends it right I mean
-
and God sends it but but we look right
-
here in this text and we come to these
-
two verses here in verses 20 and 21 of
-
this text and we CAN SEE HOW GOD BROUGHT
-
REVIVAL TO JUDAH
-
We can see it. We can track it. We can
-
trace it. Amen. Right here. And I'm not
-
saying listen that we can do certain
-
things and usher in revival. But because
-
these things are not just something that
-
you do, Amen. physically. These are
-
things, listen, that you do spiritually.
-
And everybody listening here THAT'S
-
SAVED TONIGHT KNOWS that it's the
-
spiritual man, amen, that gets in touch
-
with God, THAT SEEKS GOD, THAT WANTS
-
GOD, AMEN, MORE THAN THE CARNAL MAN. AND
-
LISTEN, FRIENDS, WHEN YOU FOLLOW HIM
-
THAT WAY, FRIEND, HE'LL BE RIGHT THERE
-
WITH YOU. AMEN.
-
>> I PROMISE YOU THAT. I CAN'T PROMISE you
-
much tonight, but I can promise you if
-
you do these things, man, personal
-
revival will come into your life. And
-
when personal revival comes into YOUR
-
LIFE, YOU KNOW WHAT IT DOES? It trickles
-
into those around you.
-
>> Amen. And when it trickles into those
-
around you, amen, you're experiencing
-
something, AMEN, THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE
-
ARE DESIRING. AMEN. BUT THEY'RE NOT
-
WILLING TO give to get. Okay. We see
-
here these things here about Hezekiah on
-
this route in which this revival came.
-
And I want you to notice a few things
-
with me tonight. Number one, uh, here in
-
this text in verse number 20, let's look
-
at the character of Hezekiah for just a
-
few moments. The character of Hezekiah.
-
Now we see in the latter part, amen, all
-
listen, all this this groundwork and
-
everything that was done, amen, here in
-
the house of God and how these uh these
-
uh Levites and how these priests and how
-
these servants of God uh was holding
-
their positions, MAN, IT WAS LOOK WHAT I
-
READ TO YOU TONIGHT BEFORE we got to
-
verse number 20. Amen. It's like a
-
welloiled machine running. That's what
-
that looks like. If you go and STUDY
-
THAT TONIGHT, YOU EVER STOOD BACK AND
-
JUST LOOKED at a machine maybe in a
-
factory or maybe a piece of farm
-
equipment, you just SCRATCH YOUR HEAD.
-
HOW DOES THAT THING even work? Amen. You
-
know, AND I MEAN, IT'S BECAUSE EVERY
-
PART IS DOING ITS PART. AMEN. WHAT YOU
-
read here in THIS TEXT IS EVERY PART
-
DOING ITS PART. YOU KNOW, THAT'S THE WAY
-
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO BE TONIGHT. AMEN.
-
EVERY PART NEEDS TO BE DOING ITS PART.
-
AMEN. AS PAUL SAID, THE BODY FITLY
-
JOINED TOGETHER, COMPACTED BY THAT WHICH
-
EVERY JOINT SUPPLIED. AMEN. THAT'S YOU
-
AND THAT'S ME. AMEN. AND WE ARE WE'RE TO
-
DO OUR PART. AND FRIENDS, THE ONLY WAY
-
THAT WE CAN DO OUR PART IS TO BE RIGHT
-
WITH GOD.
-
>> AMEN. We can show up. Amen. To be like a
-
baron that's out ON A PIECE OF
-
EQUIPMENT, RIGHT? YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU RUN
-
THAT BARON, THAT THING LONG ENOUGH,
-
IT'LL SET THE WHOLE THING ON FIRE, WON'T
-
IT? AMEN. WELL, YEAH, I won't charge you
-
nothing for that. Well, anyway, look at
-
the character of Hezekiah here tonight.
-
Look at verse number 20. And Bible says,
-
"Thus did Hezekiah." Okay? And and and
-
they're not attributing all this to him.
-
Amen. Because we don't puff man up. But
-
but they're using he listen in a sense
-
OF SHOWING WHAT ONE MAN CAN DO. AMEN.
-
When he sets his sight upon God and
-
doesn't take it off,
-
>> right?
-
>> Okay. Now, watch what your Bible says.
-
And and Bible says, "And thus did
-
Hezekiah through all Judah and wrought
-
that which was good and right and truth
-
before the Lord his God." So, let's look
-
at his character uh tonight and the
-
attributes of his work. Number one, we
-
see here in the text, he did that which
-
was good. Do you see that right there in
-
your Bible? I'm not going to preach deep
-
tonight, but just look right there. He
-
did that which was good. That word
-
wrought there in your text. That that
-
means a working a a mending if you will
-
like a raw iron fence is is as a person
-
has took some steel. AMEN. AND THEY'VE
-
APPLIED THE HEAT TO IT. AMEN. And they
-
have molded that steel. THAT'S RAW IRON.
-
AMEN. AND WE SEE THAT HE WROUGHT LISTENS
-
IN IN AND ALL JUDAH and he wrought that
-
which was good. He did a good work. And
-
the word good used right here uh is that
-
which is good in the eyes of the Lord.
-
>> That's what we've got to understand.
-
That's what's going to separate Amen.
-
listen those that Amen. spiritual from
-
those that's carnal. You know, things
-
can be good. Amen. But are they good in
-
the eyes of the Lord? That's what we got
-
to ask ourselves. Again, do that we can
-
do that which is good for us personally
-
and we can even do that which is good
-
for others. But that's not necessarily
-
good concerning, think about this now.
-
the will of God. Amen. There's a lot of
-
humanitarian aid. There's a lot of
-
that's been done over the last little
-
bit. Man, I'm thankful for people that
-
come and pushed out the driveways. Amen.
-
I had a neighbor come pushed mine out
-
while I was uh pushing everybody else's
-
out. Thank God for it. Amen. Amen.
-
That's the ones that always suffer the
-
most is the ones that serve him. Right.
-
Amen. But uh but but you know, we can DO
-
THAT WHICH IS GOOD, BUT NOT NECESSARILY
-
IS IT good concerning the will of God.
-
And the reason that Judah was in such a
-
mess is because folk took to the
-
leadership of Ahaz, Hezekiah's father,
-
because what he was doing, listen to me
-
now, they thought was good.
-
>> He closed up the house of God.
-
>> That's tired of going anyway.
-
>> Okay, let's be honest. Let's Let's just
-
be real honest. Amen. Have we not missed
-
Amen. the last two weeks of church? Have
-
we not listen you know uh being absent
-
from this place would your zeal to be
-
HERE TONIGHT BE AS IT IS TONIGHT THOUGH
-
WE'VE MISSED IT LISTEN IF THE DOORS OPEN
-
EVERY TIME YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO US
-
IN THE FLESH WE GET TO WHERE AMEN IT
-
BECOMES JUST SOMETHING THAT WE DO AND
-
IT'S NOT SOMETHING THAT WE DESIRE do
-
>> right
-
>> and that's the way they had gotten I
-
mean you can go back and study through
-
the kings and you can see it just it's
-
escalating comes in there and you know
-
and he's looking at a people listen
-
That's that that well, let's just put it
-
this way. They need something different.
-
You know, that's what the modern day
-
church is doing today.
-
>> Amen. That they'll dim the lights. Amen.
-
They'll bring in the rock bands. Listen,
-
they'll change the Bible and we'll have
-
a 10-minute session. We'll go eat pizza
-
and donuts. Amen. Watch the ball game.
-
Hey, look, friend. Listen, I'm tell you
-
what, there's no substitute, amen, for
-
preaching out of that book right there.
-
Amen. Hey, listen, friend. You got to
-
understand that YOU CANNOT CHANGE THAT.
-
AND MY FRIENDS, WHEN AHAZ CHANGED IT,
-
WHEN HE CLOSED UP THE HOUSE OF GOD,
-
FRIEND, THAT'S WHEN THE ENEMY STARTED
-
COMING IN. YOU'LL GO BACK AND READ IN
-
CHAPTER NUMBER 28 OF THIS TEXT AND
-
YOU'LL FIND, AMEN, THERE WAS NO KING
-
during the the reign OF JUDAH WHERE AS
-
MUCH DESTRUCTION WAS DONE TO THE PEOPLE
-
OF GOD AS IT WAS UNDER AHAZ BECAUSE HE
-
CLOSED UP THE HOUSE OF GOD. AMEN. THE
-
ENEMY CAME AND YOU CAN GO BACK AND READ
-
THE NUMBERS. AMEN. 120,000 VALIANT MEN,
-
AMEN, WERE SLAIN OUT OF JUDAH. That's a
-
lot of people,
-
>> right?
-
>> But think about this. 120,000 valiant
-
men. It didn't just say men. It said
-
valiant men. It means men of spiritual
-
uh uh character. Men listen like himself
-
>> like Hezekiah. MEN THAT THAT THAT LOVED
-
GOD AND AND AND LOVE THEIR WIVES AND AND
-
LOVE THEIR FAMILY. COULD YOU IMAGINE
-
LOSING 120,000 of them? Amen.
-
But then not only that, but 200,000
-
women and children during Az's reign was
-
taken captive by Israel to the north.
-
That's a picture of the liberal modern
-
day church.
-
>> 200,000 women and children. Most of
-
them, listen, was mamas and BABIES FROM
-
THOSE 120,000. AMEN. VALIANT MEN THAT
-
WAS KILLED IN BATTLE. AMEN. AND WHEN
-
THERE WASN'T A MAN TO LEAVE THE HOME,
-
AMEN, THE THE THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN
-
WENT A DIFFERENT WAY.
-
>> RIGHT.
-
>> RIGHT. And that happened under his reign
-
when he closed the house of the closed
-
the doors of the house of God when it
-
wasn't listen like it needed to be
-
closed it up enemy came amen listen
-
every enemy that was against Israel come
-
against them during his reign 16 years
-
every enemy that was against Israel Amen
-
laid their hand on the nation of Judah
-
AMEN AND LEFT HIS MARK I MEAN THE
-
PHILISTINES COME AND THEY JUST MOVED in
-
>> right
-
>> I mean they didn't come and JUST TO TO
-
TO HURT THEM THEY COME AND MOVED IN THEY
-
THEY TOOK THEIR GROUND. AMEN. BACK THAT
-
GOD HAD given them, you know. So, so but
-
here's here's where this started when
-
when Ahaz started this. Amen. And you
-
know, listen, they they like that carnal
-
stuff.
-
They like that carnal worship, you know,
-
and this this worshiping this son god
-
Molech where they offered their
-
children. Amen. You know, they they give
-
their kids listen to everything but God.
-
>> Amen. I mean, YOU KNOW, I COULD GO ON
-
AND ON ABOUT THAT TONIGHT, but but but
-
he but he did that. YOU KNOW, THEY WAS
-
ENJOYING IT. THEY LIKE GOING TO THE BALL
-
FIELD. THEY LIKE GOING TO THE RACETRACK.
-
HEY, THEY LIKE GOING HERE AND GOING
-
THERE. AS LONG AS IT WASN'T THE HOUSE OF
-
GOD WOULD GO DO THAT.
-
>> But they enjoyed that. They enjoyed
-
those idols. There's not a person on the
-
planet that does not enjoy what he's
-
interested in.
-
>> Right.
-
>> But it's not listen, THERE'S NOTHING
-
WRONG WITH THINGS, OKAY? as long as
-
things don't possess you. All right?
-
>> But here what I'm GOING TO SAY TONIGHT.
-
LISTEN. And and we SEE THAT THIS THIS
-
THIS THIS GRIP this nation. It brought
-
the enemy UPON THEM. IT DESTROYED THEM.
-
AND HEZEKIAH COMES IN. AMEN. WITH A
-
HEART FOR GOD, A HEART FOR THE PEOPLE TO
-
SEE WHAT THEY NEED. AMEN. AND HE STARTS
-
DOING THIS good work.
-
Okay. I promise you it was not seen good
-
by all.
-
>> You're right.
-
>> All right. Even though they had
-
suffered, they had struggled. I mean,
-
they had seen loss. Many of them had
-
lost their fathers. Many of them had
-
lost their daughters and their
-
grandchildren.
-
Amen. But yet, they were still hung on
-
this on this this this carnal worship
-
stuff.
-
>> Amen. And I promise you, they give him a
-
hard time. Amen. When he says, "Hey,
-
we're going to open up the house of
-
God." You're
-
>> right.
-
>> What you going to do that for?
-
>> We got the groves. We can worship just
-
as good over here under the tree stump.
-
They run under the tree. No, I guess you
-
worship under a stump. But anyway,
-
you dig a hole like a groundhog and get
-
under. You know what I'm talking about.
-
But they didn't see it as good. Amen.
-
But he did. And God recognized good. And
-
you SEE WHEN WE SEE THAT RIGHT THERE.
-
AMEN. THUS DID HEZEKIAH THROUGHOUT ALL
-
JUDAH AND HE WROTE THAT MEANS IT WAS
-
WORK.
-
>> IT WAS WORK. AMEN. IT WASN'T JUST SHOW
-
UP AND SMILE. IT WAS WORK. AMEN. AND HE
-
WORKED. AMEN. AND HE DID THAT WHICH WAS
-
GOOD IN THE eyes of the Lord. Notice
-
number two. Look. He did that which was
-
right. Look at your Bible. Verse 20. And
-
And he he he wrote that which was good
-
and right. And right. Now think about
-
this.
-
This has to do with the motive behind
-
the work.
-
>> Right.
-
>> Right. For it to be good in God's eyes.
-
Amen. That means it's for God's glory.
-
>> It's not for Hezekiah. It's not for
-
Amen. So he can have his name put on the
-
Amen. ON THE PEW OR THE SIDE OF THE PULL
-
PIT OR WHATEVER. AMEN. IT WAS FOR GOD'S
-
GLORY. HE DID IT IN THE RIGHT WAY. HE
-
DID IT. HE DID THAT WHICH WAS RIGHT.
-
AMEN.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> You know, and think about this. It
-
wasn't for personal gain. I mean, he had
-
great wealth. But if you study up what
-
the these chapters before this from 29
-
up to where we're at, you'll see he give
-
and give and give. If you've ever heard
-
the term give till it hurt. This man did
-
it.
-
>> Amen. He give of his time. He give of
-
his talent.
-
>> And he give of his treasure.
-
>> Amen. In every aspect of that, he give
-
till it hurt.
-
>> Amen. And it was working. Amen. Because
-
listen, he had a he had a heart for God.
-
Amen. Which ultimately leads to a heart
-
for people.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> A person says he loves GOD AND HATES HIS
-
NEIGHBORS. BIBLE SAYS HE'S A LIAR.
-
>> You're right.
-
>> Okay. I mean, listen, just be honest.
-
And we know we boy, they do better if
-
they just quit this. BUT YOU HAVE A LOVE
-
FOR THEM. OKAY. AND AGAIN, HE DIDN'T DO
-
IT FOR PERSONAL GAIN. HE WASN'T for
-
political pop or popularity because we
-
know that good work he was doing. Hey,
-
listen friend. If if this if he was in
-
this position to get voted in, he
-
wouldn't get voted in.
-
>> Okay, listen. He was there because Amen.
-
he was an heir
-
>> to that throne.
-
>> And and you see, friends, he didn't do
-
it for that popularity or pump. Amen. Or
-
for praise, any of that stuff. He did it
-
simply unto God. And you know, having
-
the right motive, watch this now, and
-
we'll move on. Having the right motive
-
will determine the outcome of your labor
-
in the Lord.
-
>> Amen. If it's all about you, Amen,
-
you're going to run up to the end, amen,
-
and you're going to have the same thing
-
that you started with.
-
>> Amen. But if it's for the Lord, Amen.
-
And you're doing it for the Lord. Amen.
-
Listen, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO
-
HAVE AT the end OF IT, FRIEND? YOU'RE
-
GOING TO HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE BACK TO
-
HIM.
-
>> AMEN. You're going to have something,
-
listen, to give to him, friends, that do
-
he did it, he did that which WAS RIGHT.
-
AMEN. AND HE DID IT IN THE RIGHT MOTIVE.
-
HE DID IT THE RIGHT WAY. AMEN. He didn't
-
try to compromise AND AND COME UNDERMINE
-
THE WORD OF GOD. HE DID IT, NOTICE THIS
-
NEXT THING. He did it in truth. Look at
-
your Bible. Verse 20.
-
>> He did it which was good and right and
-
truth before the Lord is God. Now, this
-
was this is when I study this is
-
absolutely amazing to me how that
-
Hezekiah
-
stood on the truth throughout this
-
campaign. I mean, he didn't have much to
-
work with,
-
>> right?
-
>> You study through this, you find when he
-
started and he started, he went to those
-
priests AND LEVVIS, HE HAD TO GO THROUGH
-
his mind. Amen. And think, man, there's
-
no way. I mean, here's some guys that
-
ain't been to church in 16 years. I
-
mean, they're supposed to be servants,
-
you know? I mean, IT'S KIND OF LIKE THE
-
BAD NEWS BEARS TEAM. AMEN. He come to
-
say, "LOOK, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WIN
-
the World Series with this crowd."
-
>> You understand what I'm talking about? I
-
mean, HE WENT TO THEM. AMEN. THEY WERE
-
OUT OF SHAPE SPIRITUALLY. I MEAN, THEY
-
WAS NOT IN LINE WITH GOD WHATSOEVER. AND
-
HE SAID, "LOOK, GUYS. HEY, LOOK, GOD'S
-
PUT IT ON MY HEART. HE CAN BRING REVIVAL
-
TO THIS NATION. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE
-
GOING TO HAVE TO DO?" AMEN. YOU'RE GOING
-
TO HAVE TO GET UP. YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE
-
TO GET WITH IT. AMEN. BECAUSE GOD HAS
-
PUT IT ON MY HEART. AMEN. THAT THE ONLY
-
FIX FOR OUR NATION, FOR OUR HOMES, FOR
-
OUR FAMILIES, AMEN. IS IF THE CHURCH
-
GETS RIGHT.
-
>> RIGHT.
-
>> RIGHT. What if a president sent you a
-
letter sent a letter to your pastor?
-
>> Amen. He says, "God's put it on my heart
-
to revive this nation." Amen. But it's
-
up to the house of God. And my friends,
-
he knows that's by the truth of the word
-
of God. He would send that here. And
-
he'd say this. He say, "But it's up to
-
you guys TO GET IT DONE. IT'S UP TO YOU
-
GUYS, LISTEN, TO GET RIGHT WITH GOD. HE
-
CAN'T DO ANYTHING BY HIMSELF. HE CAN
-
HAVE THE VISION. HE CAN HAVE THE HEART."
-
AMEN. BUT IF HE AIN'T GOT THE HELP, HE
-
CAN'T get it done.
-
>> Right.
-
>> Right. And so we see that he he did it
-
in the truth. He stood on the truth. I
-
mean, he called God's men to sanctify
-
themselves, to sanctify the house OF
-
GOD. THEN HE CALLED for the Passover to
-
be kept. We talked about that
-
introduction. AND KNOWING, LISTEN, GOD'S
-
WORD, WATCH THIS. I MEAN, WHEN WHEN THE
-
PASSOVER DATE WAS PASSED, HEZEKIAH KNEW
-
ENOUGH ABOUT THE WORD OF GOD THAT GOD
-
SAID, "IF YOU CAN'T KEEP IT IN THE FIRST
-
MONTH, YOU CAN DO IT IN THE SECOND
-
MONTH." SO, WHAT DID HE DO? HE SAID,
-
"GET IT RIGHT SO WE CAN DO IT ON THIS
-
DATE THAT GOD said we could do it."
-
Right.
-
>> Well, I bet some of them guys looked at
-
him and said, "Can we do it on the
-
second month?"
-
Yeah. Go read the Bible. You'll find out
-
you can. Right. Can we do that? Right. I
-
mean, he was he he did it in truth. Then
-
beyond that, you know, there was there
-
was when it come to kill the Passover,
-
Amen. And you can study this back in the
-
text. Amen. That some of those people,
-
Amen. They wasn't clean. They couldn't
-
kill the Passover. I mean, you had to be
-
right with God to do this.
-
>> So, Hezekiah sent those Levites that had
-
got right with God, had got cleansed
-
themselves to go kill the Passover for
-
them. Listen, he knew this had TO BE
-
DONE. THERE WAS NO EXCUSES,
-
>> RIGHT?
-
>> AMEN. And then there were some, you
-
study there that ate of the Passover
-
that went right with God,
-
>> right? You study that in the scripture
-
and they ate of the Passover as God's
-
going. He said, "Dear God, he forgive
-
them. If her heart's right, God forgive
-
them. Don't kill him.
-
>> Amen. And you know what that is? Listen,
-
that's grace in the Old Testament.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> He knew God enough, listen, to know be
-
know HIM BEYOND THE LAW. AMEN. TO KNOW
-
HIM BEYOND THE RULES AND REGULATION. HE
-
KNEW GOD IN A RELATIONSHIP. AND THAT'S
-
WHERE TRUTH SETS IN YOUR HEART. THAT'S
-
WHERE TRUTH LEADS YOU. IF YOU DO this
-
thing just because you have to, it'll
-
never amount anything to you. But if you
-
do it BECAUSE OF A RELATIONSHIP THAT YOU
-
HAVE WITH GOD, FRIEND, IT'LL BE THE BEST
-
THING THAT'S EVER HAPPENED to you.
-
>> Amen. He did. This is the way he did it.
-
He did it in truth. Amen.
-
Then think about this.
-
He called for the offerings to keep the
-
house of God going. Right? All he got in
-
their pocketbook,
-
>> right? Called for the offerings. Now
-
listen, friend, you need to be up here
-
when when it's time to preach on
-
tithing. Okay? Right? How cold it gets
-
in the church sometimes.
-
>> Amen. I've I preached on for three
-
weeks. I that's what brought in the
-
snowstorm. Okay?
-
But listen to me, friend. I mean, you
-
got to be right with God and know know
-
of a truth that it's it's God's word to
-
proclaim that to a people. Hey, look,
-
it's your duty to keep this thing up.
-
>> You're right.
-
>> It's your duty to give, Amen, to this
-
house. Amen. To keep this thing up, to
-
keep the servants where they can do what
-
they're supposed TO DO. AND YOU KNOW,
-
THOSE LEVITES HAD TO GO GET THEM A JOB.
-
THOSE PRIESTS HAD TO GO GET THEM A JOB.
-
BUT YOU'LL FIND IN THE SCRIPTURE, AMEN,
-
THAT WHEN GOD, LISTEN, GOT IN THE HEARTS
-
OF THOSE PEOPLE, WHEN HEZEKIAH
-
proclaimed to them to keep the tithe,
-
BRING THE OFFERINGS INTO THE HOUSE OF
-
GOD. AMEN. THOSE PRIESTS AND LEAVE US TO
-
BACK SAID, "MAN, WE AIN'T HAD THIS MUCH
-
IN A long time, king."
-
>> Good was able to move and do the work of
-
the Lord. And friends, he did that
-
according to the truth. It had nothing
-
to do with him.
-
>> He didn't take one penny of it.
-
>> It was all for God's glory. Amen. And
-
and friends, that's that's his
-
character.
-
Okay? And friends, that's the that's the
-
root that revival rides in on is that
-
kind of character doing that which is
-
good, which is right, and according to
-
the truth,
-
>> revival rides on that. You say,
-
"Preacher, that just does that just
-
sounds too simple." Amen. Well, that's
-
kind of like salvation,
-
>> right? Salvation sometimes people try to
-
make it complicated,
-
>> right? Got to do this, this, this. If
-
you don't do this, you'll lose it.
-
>> Wouldn't you hate to live like that?
-
>> Amen. Amen,
-
>> man. Jesus said, "It's finished."
-
>> Praise God. When he when he come out,
-
listen, when you hang on that cross,
-
Amen. those last words, HE SAID, "IT IS
-
FINISHED. ALL THAT'S LEFT FOR YOU TO DO
-
IS confess him
-
>> AND BE SAVED, FRIEND, AND AND TRUST HIM
-
AND FOLLOW HIM." AND REVIVAL, LISTEN, I
-
BELIEVE SOMETIMES we make it so
-
complicated.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Amen. We we we make it look so way out,
-
y'all. Listen, if if you'll just do that
-
which is good and do it the right way
-
and do it in the truth, personal revival
-
will come into your life. Number two, I
-
want you to see this. Look at his
-
commitment. We've seen his character,
-
but look at his commitment. Look at your
-
Bible. Verse 21.
-
I love this. In every work that he began
-
in the service of the house of God and
-
in the law and in the commandments to
-
seek his God, he did it with all his
-
heart. His commitment. Think about that.
-
Look at the area of his commitment. The
-
area of his commitment. Number one, it
-
was the house of God. You see that? And
-
every work that he began, verse 21, in
-
the service of the house of God.
-
So his area of commitment was in the
-
house of God. And then notice number
-
two. Amen. And then the law and in the
-
commandments, in the word of God.
-
His commitment, his life revolved
-
around, listen, the word of God and the
-
house of God. That's what his life
-
revolved around.
-
>> Yeah. Say, "Preacher, I got a job. I
-
can't do that." Yeah, you can.
-
>> Come on.
-
>> You You can actually do your job better
-
>> if you put your commitment, Amen. to
-
God's work here on this earth, he'll he
-
listen, he'll he'll use you greater than
-
you've ever known.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Amen. If you'll place your commitment
-
right there, that's the problem we have
-
today. You know, we we get our
-
commitment everywhere but the house of
-
God. You're
-
>> right.
-
>> Amen. if you'll commit yourself to the
-
house of God. But first of all, listen,
-
you will never be committed to the house
-
of God if you're not committed to the
-
word of God first.
-
>> Amen. You see that? Listen, he that that
-
was the area of his commitment. You
-
know, think about this. A man can be
-
committed to a lot of things, but true
-
spiritual revival only comes through a
-
man that is committed to these things.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> You'll never see a person, Amen,
-
experience revival that's, Amen, that's
-
uh not committed to the house of God.
-
may be faithful in attendance.
-
>> Come on.
-
>> But they're not they're not committed to
-
it.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Right? They're not committed. Listen, in
-
praying for it,
-
>> right? Praying for your pastor, praying
-
for the Sunday school teachers, praying
-
for the singing, praying for the
-
service, praying for souls to be saved.
-
That's commitment,
-
>> right?
-
>> That it means more to you listen than
-
than listening everything around you.
-
There's a dear old saint of God I used
-
to know that would pray listen for the
-
things of God uh be above and beyond her
-
own personal being. Sick laying in the
-
hospital dying. Preacher, how's the
-
church doing? How's the church doing?
-
I'm praying for the church. She's laying
-
there dying with cancer, but she's
-
praying for the house of God. Praying
-
for the work of God. You see what?
-
That's commitment. And she was committed
-
while she was there when she WAS GOT
-
SICK, LAYING ON HER DEATHBED. She was
-
still committed to the house OF GOD, TO
-
THE WORK OF GOD, BECAUSE SHE HAD THE
-
WORD OF GOD all up in her heart.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> That was his commitment. We see THAT IN
-
SCRIPTURE. AND EVERY WORK THAT HE BEGAN,
-
meaning this, THE REASON THAT IT WAS
-
GOOD, THE reason that it was right, THE
-
REASON THAT IT WAS ACCORDED TO THE TRUTH
-
WAS BECAUSE HE WAS COMMITTED TO THE
-
WORD. HE WAS COMMITTED to the house of
-
God.
-
>> His focus was upon doing it all
-
according to the word. Amen.
-
by the book.
-
>> Don't you hate to work around them
-
people that wants to do everything by
-
the book, right? Some of you may be in
-
construction, you know, and you know,
-
and they got this saying, you know, some
-
of these jack legs we work with. Amen.
-
Well, you can't see it from my house. I
-
hate that.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Or I I can't stand that. And my my wife
-
says I'm a perfectionist. I always think
-
it can be done a little better.
-
>> Amen. But but but listen, friend,
-
listen. But if you come to the house of
-
God and that's your that's your heart.
-
>> Amen. Listen, you're not committed to
-
it. Amen.
-
>> Right?
-
>> But he was committed to it. And and and
-
and and think about this. We'll move on.
-
When men com when men get committed to
-
the house of God and the word of God,
-
God will do a work in them.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> There's no doubt about it, friend. When
-
you get committed, when you set your
-
sights on God, friend. Amen. Bible says,
-
"Draw near to him." What does the Bible
-
say? James said he'll draw near to you.
-
>> Right,
-
>> friend? God God so want you can't be
-
around him and not be changed.
-
>> Right? I mean, Moses was around him on
-
the mount, man. He come down. He was
-
glowing.
-
>> Right.
-
>> Right. Amen. Listen, friends. We We here
-
in this earthly tabernacle had what he
-
was trying to cover up that he lost.
-
>> Right.
-
>> Right. We've got it. Amen. Through the
-
spirit of God dwells in us. Amen. And
-
listen, IT COMES OUT WHEN YOU GET AROUND
-
GOD IN THIS WORD. YOU KNOW WHAT I'M
-
TALKING ABOUT. YOU CAN TELL IF
-
SOMEBODY'S BEEN IN THE BOOK, BEEN ON
-
THEIR KNEES. AMEN. And seeking the Lord
-
has committed to them. You can tell that
-
kind of people, can't you? AMEN. MAN,
-
THEY JUST GOT SOMETHING about them.
-
Listen, it's just pleasure to be around.
-
So, we see the area of his commitment.
-
Number two, look at the attitude of his
-
commitment. Look at the attitude of his
-
commitment. Bible says verse 21, latter
-
part, you with me? He did it with all
-
his heart and he prospered.
-
>> His attitude, I like good attitudes.
-
Amen.
-
You see, we read in his commitment
-
again, he did it with all of his heart.
-
That's one of my favorite verses in this
-
study that I've studied. I looked at it.
-
I've looked at it. I've read it every
-
time that I've prepared a message here
-
in this text. He did it with all his
-
heart.
-
>> Amen. And I look at sometimes I'm
-
studying some things sometimes,
-
preacher, and I look at him and I think,
-
man, how did he do that?
-
>> God takes me back to this text. He did
-
it with all his heart.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Amen. This kind of reminds me a little
-
boy. Amen. was uh in art class and he
-
was drawing a picture. The teacher said
-
uh give them all an assignment or draw a
-
picture of something. Amen. And don't
-
tell nobody what it is. When we get
-
done, Amen. we'll see what you've drawn
-
and we can, you know, define what you've
-
what you have drew a picture of and
-
colored it and all that. And so the
-
teacher's walking around to all the
-
children in the class and she goes to
-
this one. He's drawing a picture of a
-
house. This one's drawing a picture of a
-
mountain scene. This one's drawing a
-
picture of a bird. You know, anybody can
-
draw birds, can't they?
-
>> Right. But she come this one little boy.
-
Boy, he was at work. He was at work. I
-
mean, he you can tell them this at work,
-
man. He was down. He was a drawing
-
teacher come over there and laid his
-
hand on. She says, "What are you
-
drawing?" He said, "I'm drawing a
-
picture of God."
-
>> Amen.
-
>> And she's like, "Nobody knows what God
-
looks like." Little boy looked up there.
-
He says, "You will when I get done."
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Hey, look, friend. That's if you have
-
that mindset. Listen, I'm telling you,
-
FRIEND, THAT THAT THAT'S DOING IT WITH
-
ALL YOUR HEART. THAT'S WHAT THAT IS,
-
FRIEND. HOW MANY IT MAY LOOK LIKE A MESS
-
to everybody else when he got done, but
-
friend, IN HIS HEART, HE GIVE IT ALL
-
THAT HE HAD, FRIEND. YOU KNOW WHAT? I
-
LIKE TO GO TO CHURCH. AMEN. I LIKE TO
-
WORSHIP WITH PEOPLE, AMEN, THAT COME AND
-
DO IT WITH ALL THEIR HEART. AMEN. THAT
-
SING WITH ALL their heart. Man, there's
-
some people I've been in church with
-
that can't sing a lick. I'm one of them.
-
Amen. The sound guy back at Mountaintop,
-
Amen, turns me off when I help the choir
-
sing. Amen. says, "Preacher, that's
-
tough." Amen. So, I just let Cody do it
-
now. But, I mean, I love to be around
-
people that just I don't care what they
-
sound like. I just want to be around
-
them. Amen. I It just rubs OFF ON ME. I
-
I LOVE TO SEE HIM GIVE IT ALL THAT THEY
-
HAVE. AMEN. HE DID IT WITH ALL of his
-
heart.
-
Think about this if you want to apply
-
this to worldly standards.
-
He started early and he stayed late,
-
>> right? started early and stayed late.
-
Think about that tonight. Amen. He
-
didn't come in. Amen. 10 minutes after
-
the service had started.
-
>> Amen. He was here, but before he was
-
here, he was here.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> You listening to me tonight?
-
>> I mean, it was serious to him. Amen. It
-
it was a matter Listen, this this this
-
thing was a matter of life and death
-
>> to him.
-
>> I mean, it it meant the world to him.
-
Amen. He He went, Think about this. He
-
went above and beyond the expectation of
-
those around him. You know, people had a
-
had a had a deacon at a church I
-
pastored. Just a young fella. Amen. Man,
-
I I I I'm
-
jealous of your pastor. Okay. Amen. I'
-
I've worked hard and I still can't
-
preach like he can. Right. But I
-
remember, man, getting there to church
-
and man that I I just I'd studied and we
-
we I'd studied, man. I just dumped it
-
out. I mean, I'd give him everything I
-
had. A whole lot of didn't know. Amen. I
-
just I mean, I plowed and I plowed deep.
-
He come to me one day. He says, "I know
-
you're supposed to feed the flock, but
-
he said, but you don't have to give them
-
the whole feed house at one one given,
-
you know, and that but that's what I
-
wanted to do." Amen. Because that was my
-
heart.
-
>> Amen. And you see, friends, that's I
-
believe that was Hezekiah, man. He did
-
he he went up above and beyond. Amen.
-
The expectations. Listen, he give them
-
listen something. listen that they
-
really truly needed. They didn't even
-
know that they needed.
-
>> Amen. Brought revival BACK INTO A A DEAD
-
NATION. FRIEND, IF WE DON'T get that
-
here in this land, friend, we're going
-
to be a hasb been quicker, amen, than
-
you think.
-
>> Amen. We are coasting downhill on a
-
godly heritage right now.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> So, people don't get some vision from
-
this book. I'm not talking about looking
-
down the church, looking down the road,
-
the church down the road, what they're
-
doing when we're just as good as them.
-
We're actually a little bit better than
-
them. I know those thoughts that go
-
through your mind. No, listen, friend.
-
Amen. The Bible says when Isaiah saw the
-
Lord, he said this, "Woe is me." Amen.
-
He didn't look over at his neighbor and
-
say, "Woe is me." He saw the Lord,
-
friend. And that's what you and I do.
-
Man, we look at this text and we seen
-
what God did in this man, friend. He can
-
do the same in you and me. Bible says,
-
Paul said this to Colossians and 3 and
-
23. He says, "WHATSOEVER YOU DO, DO
-
HEARTILY AS TO THE LORD AND NOT UNTO
-
MEN."
-
Last thing I'm done tonight. Let's see.
-
Look at the award that come with this.
-
We see the area of his commitment, the
-
attitude of his commitment. Amen. But
-
the award that come along with it. The
-
Bible says he prospered.
-
>> You see that he prospered. Amen. I'm not
-
Joel Ostein tonight, okay? I'm not
-
talking about, listen, this foolishness,
-
listen, of serving God so you can live
-
your best life. No, I'm not talking
-
about that. But the prospering that he
-
prospered in was getting to see his
-
heart's desire,
-
>> amen,
-
>> take place in the people of God. You
-
know what the Bible says? And I wrote it
-
down here in Psalm 37 verse number four.
-
I love this verse. Uh the psalmist said
-
this, "Delight thyself also in the Lord,
-
and he shall give thee the desires of
-
thine heart."
-
>> Amen. That means when your delight is in
-
him.
-
>> Amen. You're going to be delighted.
-
Amen. when he works in other people.
-
>> You're right.
-
>> Amen. When when them people you've
-
prayed for walk an aisle and get saved.
-
Amen. You might get up and run around,
-
take a lap.
-
>> Right.
-
>> Hey, friend. That might set some people
-
on fire. Listen. Hey, when those listen
-
that you've been praying for step out in
-
service for the Lord. Amen. Listen,
-
you'll be excited about that. You'll be
-
jealous. Hey, you'll be excited with
-
them. Amen. Hey, look, friend. I'm
-
telling you, that was the award. Amen.
-
That listen, that was greater than
-
anything that he could receive on earth.
-
Amen. The Bible says when he prospered,
-
he prospered in the Lord. He was full.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> He was full. Amen. Watching these people
-
serve God. Amen. You see, think about
-
this. Is it okay if Jesse plays
-
something other? Amen. I don't whoever
-
you pianist is count. I don't want to
-
mess it up. But think about this. Think
-
about this. when he was a boy,
-
his daddy was reigning as king and he
-
had closed up the doors of the house of
-
God. I mean, listen, friend, it it was
-
it was it was hell on earth for Judah
-
>> for a lot of years,
-
>> okay? I mean, they were struggling.
-
Families was broke.
-
Children were wewarded. Amen. Daddies
-
were gone.
-
>> Homes were busted up. friend. I don't
-
know about you, but as a pastor, that's
-
one of the hardest things that I watch
-
and I see as a pastor is when sin enters
-
into a home.
-
>> Amen. And just bust it all to pieces.
-
You know, as a kid, he watched that
-
growing up. He watched that. He watched
-
weward wayward uh children. Amen.
-
Listen, doing things that his mama had
-
taught him different about,
-
>> right?
-
>> Leading him in the word of God. And he's
-
like, "Man, something's got to change."
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Something's got to change.
-
>> I mean, heartbroken. Little Hezekiah.
-
AMEN. HAVING THE WORD OF GOD ALL IN HIS
-
HEART. AND AT 25 YEARS OLD, I BELIEVE IT
-
WAS WHEN he took THE THRONE OF JUDAH.
-
AMEN. LISTEN, THE FIRST THING HE DID,
-
AMEN, WAS UP THERE AND he repaired the
-
doors of the house of God.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> He said, "If anything's going to happen,
-
>> you're right.
-
>> If anything's going to change, it's
-
going to start right here."
-
>> We're going to have to get the word
-
>> in some people's hearts. You're right.
-
>> Amen. And let God do some work in the
-
hearts of the people. AMEN. AND CHANGE
-
THEM AND LET THEM SEE. AMEN. LISTEN, HE
-
WAS TIRED of seeing people whailing
-
because of God. Because it was the
-
judgment of God that they was living
-
under.
-
>> Right. Amen. Listen, you know, you can
-
close this place up. I thought about
-
this a lot this week. I've missed two
-
Sundays in my own pull pit. Amen. I
-
thought about this a lot this week. I I
-
thought about this a lot, preacher. I
-
thought, how many people really miss it
-
in the house of God today?
-
>> Amen.
-
>> How many people are thinking in their
-
mind, you know, preacher says, "Amen.
-
You you miss it. You you know, you you
-
just won't feel right. You won't be
-
right." And they're sitting at the
-
house, you know, and it's just been
-
somewhere to go, and they're really not
-
missing it. Amen. But here's here's the
-
problem, okay? It don't happen just over
-
one or two services.
-
>> You're right.
-
>> Amen. But over a series, a space of
-
time, what happens is is you lay that
-
down.
-
>> You lay that down. The further away you
-
get from that, the closer, amen, you get
-
to the enemy.
-
>> Amen. And then at that moment, listen,
-
friend, when those standards, and those
-
walls are broken down, the enemy comes
-
in and destroys your home. Amen. You'll
-
be welling because of God,
-
>> right?
-
>> Amen. You'll be wishing you could
-
worship him again.
-
>> Amen. And Hezekiah got to see a people
-
that was whailing because of God start
-
worshiping him again. Man, what greater
-
joy, what greater honor, Amen, could
-
anybody have, listen, than to be that
-
light,
-
>> amen,
-
>> in a world that needs to hear the
-
gospel.
-
>> What greater joy could any of us have?
-
Could say, listen, hey, look, I'm just
-
going to go ahead and drive my steak
-
down real deep.
-
>> Amen. I know we need it. There's no
-
question about it tonight. We need
-
revival, right? We need it, don't we?
-
>> Church needs it, man. I NEED IT FOR YOU.
-
AND I NEED IT EVERY OTHER DAY, FRIEND. I
-
MEAN, LISTEN, I'm a leaky vest. I get
-
full one day, next day, listen, I'll be
-
running on empty. We need to stay in
-
close communion with God. Amen.
-
>> But here's the thing. Listen to me
-
tonight. Amen. It comes through a heart
-
just like that man right there.
-
Amen. Listen. The character.
-
Amen. Commitment. Amen. And listen,
-
friend, it'll come. It'll come. It's
-
divine. God will send it. But I promise
-
you, you get around him and you start
-
seeking that. Amen. And don't don't get
-
discouraged when you're doing the work
-
and it doesn't seem like anything's
-
happening because most of the time
-
that's when the greatest work is taking
-
place. Amen. I love you tonight. It's
-
good to be with you, preacher. You come.
-
Let's bow our heads tonight. Amen. As he
-
comes, give invitation tonight. Hey,
-
listen. You mind the Lord tonight. Love
-
you, preacher.
-
As we stand tonight all over the
-
building, heads bowed, eyes closed, you
-
need to come pray.
-
Come pray tonight.
-
Say, "Preacher, it's Wednesday night."
-
God knew exactly what we needed.
-
Fed my soul as much as any sermon I've
-
ever heard.
-
If every one of us would be honest
-
tonight, we're all lacking.
-
We're all lacking tonight
-
and our character, in our commitment.
-
And it shows cuz revival hadn't come.
-
But I'm thankful there's still an altar
-
that you can come pray.
-
You can have that character restored in
-
your life.
-
Get that commitment settled
-
and God can still send it.
-
He can still send it. Father,
-
thank you so much.
-
Thank you for your servant minding you
-
tonight.
-
Lord, I needed that so desperately.
-
God, I thank you,
-
Lord. You know the vision I have for
-
this church,
-
Lord, cuz you gave me that vision.
-
You know the heart, the desires that I
-
have, Lord, for this year. And
-
and God, the man of God just spoke my
-
heart tonight. And I thank you. I thank
-
you, God, for knowing what we need.
-
Thank you, God, for always being exactly
-
what we need. And God, I pray for every
-
heart in this building, Lord, as a
-
result of this service, God, I pray
-
right now, they're making new
-
commitments to you, Lord, restoring old
-
commitments, maybe that's been broken
-
down,
-
Lord, in spite of what others may say
-
and others may do toward them, Father,
-
about them, God, I pray that they'll
-
have a rock solid resolve tonight, Lord,
-
that they'll choose you in your way
-
and Give us strength, wisdom, and
-
boldness to do your will.
-
Lord, thank you for the house of God.
-
I thank you for a place on the side of
-
the road where the lights are still on,
-
people can still come and hear your
-
word,
-
>> and the Holy Ghost of God have free
-
course and reign in our hearts. Thank
-
you, oh God. Thank you for not leaving
-
us to ourselves.
-
Oh Lord, we'd be in a mess.
-
But God, you didn't leave us to
-
ourselves. And I thank you for that.
-
Thank you, God, for your word,
-
that lamp to our feet, light to our
-
path.
-
God, I pray you'll help us to be
-
obedient to you.
-
Help us do your will.
-
And I pray for every need tonight, Lord.
-
I pray, God, if there's somebody here
-
tonight not saved, I pray they wouldn't
-
leave this place.
-
God, they don't know anything about what
-
we're doing here tonight. If they're not
-
saved, God, I pray you deal with their
-
heart even now. And I thank you for
-
using your servant tonight.
-
I thank you for helping them. And God, I
-
pray you bless him. Bless their meetings
-
this month. Touch the men of God that'll
-
preach. And Lord, I pray you'll pour out
-
a fresh anointing, Lord, there at
-
Mountaintop. And Lord, here God, I pray,
-
Lord, the Holy Ghost of God would
-
continue to work, Lord, in this church,
-
God, that this be just a refreshing
-
time. God, I I really believe, Lord, I
-
know, Father, I told the church a few
-
weeks ago, and I believe that God, you
-
had to send these events of weather,
-
Lord, so we'd slow down. God, I think we
-
needed to just take some time.
-
And God, I pray Lord that we wouldn't
-
get so sped back up again that we miss
-
you, Lord. Help us to stay steady with
-
you.
-
>> Stay close to you. I pray
-
>> we'll give you thanks for what you do
-
because we ask it in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
