  4. today. If you enjoy today's message, be

  5. sure to subscribe, follow, and share

  6. with your friends. Now, let's join

  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God.

  9. >> Well, that's the truth tonight. Amen.

  10. And I appreciate that fact. I'm thankful

  11. for a church recognizes that. And u

  12. there's no greater need.

  13. No greater need. And people to meet the

  14. Lord, to know him, to love him. Amen. To

  15. be changed by him. And uh

  16. I'm so thankful. You I was thinking

  17. about this just a minute ago. There's

  18. nobody that's ever met the Lord that

  19. hadn't been changed. Amen.

  20. >> You say, "What do you mean? Not

  21. everybody's come to Christ has gotten

  22. saved." No, but they can't leave. Amen.

  23. The same way that they came.

  24. >> They have to walk away willfully. Amen.

  25. Uh from an outstretched arm and an open

  26. hand. And I thank God uh for the night

  27. he reached way down farther than I could

  28. reach up.

  29. >> Amen.

  30. >> And save my soul. Amen.

  31. >> And uh I know I'd be in hell if it were

  32. not for his grace. But I'm so thankful

  33. he saw fit to save me and give me new

  34. life. Amen. I bless his name for it. I

  35. thank him for his grace and his mercy.

  36. If you have a Bible tonight, I'd like

  37. for you to turn with me if you would

  38. please to the book of Jude. The book of

  39. Jude. If you would stand and on

  40. reference to the reading of God's word

  41. tonight, the book of Jude. And uh

  42. just felt impressed to look here

  43. tonight. This probably the last message

  44. that I share with you out of the book of

  45. Jude. And uh don't dread it tonight.

  46. Something I want to share with you is

  47. very important. And uh he was singing

  48. that song. I was thinking a minute ago

  49. as the song's been ministering to my

  50. heart here of late quite a bit by the

  51. Ellis family called Jesus love is real.

  52. >> Yeah.

  53. >> And uh I was listening to that song

  54. going down the road all the other day

  55. and first verse that song kind of says

  56. something along the lines of people long

  57. for love and they're looking lots of

  58. places where they can't get enough.

  59. >> And uh I was thinking about that. You go

  60. by the beer joints and the ABC stores

  61. and all the places that our community

  62. seems to be full of and people are just

  63. looking for something to fill them up.

  64. >> And uh you realize tonight we know the

  65. truth.

  66. >> Amen.

  67. >> Amen. And this is not just a social

  68. gathering. Amen. I didn't come just to

  69. see you. Amen. And I sure hope you

  70. didn't come to see me. But I tell you

  71. this, I come to get help from heaven.

  72. Amen. And we need his help. Amen. And

  73. because his love is real. Amen. and I

  74. bless his name for it tonight. Let's

  75. look verse number 21. Verse 20. Let's

  76. look at verse 20 tonight. We'll read

  77. down through the end of the chapter. And

  78. like I said, don't don't let the

  79. familiarity uh of this series uh get you

  80. in a ditch. And I'll say this series

  81. preaching is good. It's beneficial

  82. because the Bible is written line upon

  83. line and you ought to study it line upon

  84. line. And we ought to never try to

  85. cherrypick verses out and try to make

  86. our point. But we ought to always labor

  87. to uh construct the context and give the

  88. context because if you don't know the

  89. context, there's no fruit to the text.

  90. And so uh we want to make sure that you

  91. know what's going on. That's why I've

  92. been preaching through this book uh this

  93. way. And let's look verse number 20 of

  94. Jude chapter or Jude chap verse number

  95. 20 only one chapter. Verse 20. The Bible

  96. says, "But ye, beloved, building up

  97. yourselves on your most holy faith."

  98. Now, we talked about that there on last

  99. week about building up yourselves. And

  100. he says, "Praying in the Holy Ghost."

  101. Verse 21, he says, "Keep yourselves in

  102. the love of God, looking for the mercy

  103. of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal

  104. life. And of some have compassion,

  105. making a difference, and others save

  106. with fear, pulling them out of the fire,

  107. hating even the garment spotted by the

  108. flesh. Now unto him that is able to keep

  109. you from falling, and to present you

  110. faultless before the presence of his

  111. glory with exceeding joy. To the only

  112. wise God, our Savior, be glory and

  113. majesty, dominion and power, both now

  114. and ever. Amen. Father, I come before

  115. you tonight and I ask you humbly to help

  116. us, Lord, as we've gathered here. And I

  117. pray, God, tonight that you would move

  118. in our midst. Lord, I thank you for the

  119. good presence of God in the service this

  120. morning. And Lord, I thank you for

  121. speaking to hearts, for speaking to my

  122. heart. And God, I thank you for the word

  123. of God that was shared. And God, I ask

  124. you tonight humbly that you would anoint

  125. us. Uh fill us with thy spirit, God, I

  126. pray, remove the flesh far from us. Help

  127. us to say nothing, God, that would

  128. hinder the work of the Holy Spirit, but

  129. God, to say everything, God, that you

  130. would desire us to say. I pray you'll

  131. help us to receive with meekness the

  132. engrafted word. And I pray we'd see no

  133. man save Jesus only. And open our eyes

  134. and we might behold wondrous things in

  135. thy law. And Lord, we pray, Father, that

  136. you would be exalted and magnified and

  137. lifted up. God, you said if you'd be

  138. lifted up, you draw men unto yourself.

  139. And so, I pray you'd do that tonight in

  140. the midst of this service. and for

  141. whatever needs are present. If there's

  142. somebody here lost, I pray they'd be

  143. saved. God, if there's somebody here,

  144. Father, that is saved and out of the

  145. will of God, I pray they'd get right

  146. with you tonight. And Lord, most of all,

  147. I pray you'll get glory. And for what

  148. you do, we'll thank you for it because

  149. we ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. And

  150. amen. You can be seated this evening.

  151. Now, we've looked at this series uh

  152. through the book of Jude, messages

  153. concerning apostasy. And I want to look

  154. at this text tonight, these last four or

  155. five verses here of the book of Jude,

  156. and share to you this thought on

  157. evangelism

  158. amidst apostasy.

  159. Evangelism

  160. amidst apostasy. Now, I realize tonight

  161. when we look at our world, the world we

  162. live in, and I'll say this, when you

  163. narrow it down not just to a world view

  164. of America, but a worldview of

  165. Christianity in America, we realize that

  166. more so than the right way, there is the

  167. apostate belief in America. The crowds

  168. are being drawn to apostate religion.

  169. And I've made no bones about it through

  170. these series of messages what these

  171. apostates look like. And you say,

  172. "Preacher, I'm really not sure what they

  173. are." are. Well, I'm not going to

  174. belabor the point tonight. You can go

  175. back and listen to the messages. Amen.

  176. But there are people who are greedy of

  177. gain and they're serving only to fill

  178. their own pocketbook and to serve their

  179. own flesh. And I was reading this text

  180. and praying about the direction the Lord

  181. would have us to go tonight. I don't

  182. didn't know this was for sure if this is

  183. where he wanted us to be. But he really

  184. led me to these verses and something

  185. maybe I've never seen before in these

  186. verses. And I want to lay out three

  187. things to you tonight. And I just like I

  188. did this morning, I'll give you the

  189. message outline and then you can put in

  190. it as we go along. I want to note first

  191. of all tonight in the message number one

  192. the devotion to our savior in verse

  193. number 21 of this chapter and then in

  194. verses 22 and 23 I want to note the

  195. discernment of souls. devotion to the

  196. Savior in verse 21 and the discernment

  197. of souls in verses 22 and 23 and then in

  198. verse 24 and 25. I want to note the

  199. divine sanctification that is mentioned

  200. in these verses tonight. And we're going

  201. to spend the majority of our time on

  202. that second point. But I want you to

  203. notice tonight by way of introduction

  204. here, he is listed in verse 21. It's a

  205. continued statement from verse 20. And

  206. we dealt there with building up

  207. yourselves there on last week and we

  208. talked about the task of it and the

  209. trust in it. The tool is prayer and the

  210. thread throughout all of it is the

  211. presence of the Holy Spirit that's

  212. mentioned there in verse number 20. But

  213. in one continued statement that comma he

  214. says in verse 21, keep yourselves in the

  215. love of God. And I thought about that

  216. phrase. Now, I understand tonight we

  217. think about the love of God and and we

  218. was praising him for that, his great

  219. mercy and grace towards us. And no doubt

  220. we love him because he first loved us

  221. tonight. Amen. Is anybody in the

  222. building? Amen. We love him because he

  223. first loved us. And when John Jude says

  224. here to his readers, he says, "Keep

  225. yourselves in the love of God." He's not

  226. saying that it would be possible for us

  227. to get outside the bounds of God's love.

  228. But it is possible for us to forget the

  229. goodness of his love. And you say, "What

  230. is that?" Well, if you turn over just a

  231. few chapters into the book of

  232. Revelation, that first church of Asia

  233. Minor, that church of Ephesus, you

  234. remember what Jesus had to say to that

  235. church. He said, "I have somewhat

  236. against you." And what did he say to

  237. him? He said, "Because you've left your

  238. first love." Amen. And it's not that

  239. God's love could get away from us or we

  240. could get out of God's love. But the

  241. truth is we could forget the fact that

  242. we are living amidst God's love. Amen.

  243. I'll tell you this tonight. Peter says

  244. it this way that there's many people who

  245. have forgotten that they were purged

  246. from their old sins. We've forgotten

  247. that God loves us and that God lives for

  248. us and that God wants to give us life

  249. and life more abundantly. And it is

  250. possible to get outside of that

  251. blessing. But let me remind you tonight,

  252. we ought to be reminded every day of our

  253. life when we wake up that it's the love

  254. of God that allowed our heart to beat

  255. through the night and our lungs to pump

  256. air through the night. Amen. And when we

  257. rise up, it's the grace and love all of

  258. Almighty God that our eyes opened up and

  259. our mind come back into consciousness.

  260. You say, "PREACHER, WHAT ARE YOU

  261. SAYING?" I'm saying that every day the

  262. love of God manifests itself to us and

  263. we ought to do our very best to keep

  264. ourselves in the love OF GOD EACH AND

  265. EVERY DAY. AMEN.

  266. >> NOW, we know tonight that sin can hinder

  267. us from fellowship. We know that

  268. complacency and apathy can hinder us

  269. from in fellowship tonight. And so, the

  270. command is the same that we are to keep

  271. ourselves in the love of God. And that

  272. simply means to live in the realm of his

  273. love. And so I think about our devotion

  274. to the savior. Number one, we ought to

  275. live in the realm of the love of God.

  276. Amen. You say, "What is that?" Well,

  277. that's that is uh feeling his love,

  278. accepting his love into our life and

  279. allowing him to bless us. But also as

  280. that blessing intercedes, intersects

  281. into our life, we ought to interject

  282. that love into other people's lives.

  283. Amen. What did Jesus tell his disciples?

  284. He said, "By this shall all men know

  285. that you are my disciples." Why? Because

  286. when you have love one to another. Amen.

  287. And we ought to let that love shine. He

  288. said, "Let your light so shine before

  289. men that they might see your good works

  290. and glorify your father which is in

  291. heaven." And what is that? That's the

  292. love of God shed abroad in our hearts by

  293. the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

  294. And we ought to do our best to live in

  295. the realm of God's love. Amen. It is

  296. possible to dwell outside of it. But

  297. I'll tell you this, once you've ever

  298. been in it, you don't want to be outside

  299. of it. Amen. But I notice this. He

  300. doesn't only tell us to live in the

  301. realm of God's love, but he also tells

  302. us to look for the revelation of our

  303. Lord Jesus Christ. Look what he says in

  304. verse 21. Keep yourselves in the love of

  305. God. Continued statement, looking for

  306. the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto

  307. eternal life. And you say, "Preacher,

  308. well, how can I keep myself living in

  309. the love of God?" Well, long as you stay

  310. looking, you'll stay loving. Amen. As

  311. long as you're looking for him to come.

  312. Amen. As long as you're keeping your eye

  313. on that eastern sky. Amen. Knowing that

  314. just any day now, amen, our Lord's

  315. coming back. And one day, friend, the

  316. clouds are going to split and he's going

  317. to step out. Amen. HE'S GOING TO SAY,

  318. "COME UP HITHER." AMEN. AND YOU KNOW

  319. WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO? WE'RE GOING TO

  320. GO UP WITH HIM. AMEN. WE'RE GOING TO

  321. MEET THE LORD IN THE CLOUDS and the

  322. saints. Amen. That rose before us. And

  323. forever, forever and ever and ever,

  324. WE'LL BE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. HEY, IF

  325. YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO LIVE IN THE

  326. REALM of God's love, you just keep

  327. LOOKING FOR THE REVELATION OF THE LORD

  328. JESUS CHRIST TO SHOW UP ON THIS EARTH.

  329. LET ME SAY IT AGAIN, FRIEND. HE IS SOON

  330. COMING. And I'll tell you this, I'm

  331. looking forward to it. Amen. I know

  332. tonight that he is coming. He says,

  333. "Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus

  334. Christ." And I just want to remind you

  335. of this fact that it is the mercy of God

  336. that he showed up the first time that

  337. God would allow his son to become come

  338. come to this earth and be roed in the

  339. likeness of sinful flesh and live and

  340. die for you and I and get up again and

  341. go back to heaven. But let me remind

  342. you, it's the mercy of God that he is

  343. coming back again one of these days for

  344. you and I because we don't deserve the

  345. fact for him to come back and take us

  346. home. But aren't you thankful him in his

  347. mercy and his grace? He's going to come

  348. and retrieve us under himself. And one

  349. of these days, we'll see him high and

  350. lifted up. Amen. I don't know about you,

  351. but I JUST FEEL GOOD IN MY soul tonight.

  352. Amen. I'M GLAD I'M SAVED AND ON MY WAY

  353. TO HEAVEN. PRAISE GOD. AND MY DEVOTION

  354. TO THE SAVIOR IS MY LOVE FOR HIM, BUT

  355. I'M ALSO LOOKING FOR HIM. AMEN.

  356. >> I'm looking for him to come. Looking for

  357. the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto

  358. eternal life. And so we consider the

  359. devotion to the Savior. Much more I

  360. could say about that tonight, but I want

  361. to deal with this subject here tonight

  362. concerning the evangelism

  363. amidst apostasy. Now, I've had some

  364. people ask me here at the church since

  365. since I've been here, preacher, uh,

  366. preacher, I just don't know. You talk

  367. about soul winning and visitation, and I

  368. just don't know how how to do that.

  369. Well, let me say this. As a child of

  370. God, it's inherent in you that you want

  371. to win people to Christ. Okay, that's a

  372. natural desire. Amen. That's something

  373. that should be a part of who you are.

  374. Amen. And leadership has failed when

  375. they fail to teach you that you should

  376. win souls. Amen. The Bible said in

  377. Proverbs 11 verse number 30, the fruit

  378. of the righteous is a tree of life. And

  379. he that winth souls is what? Wise. Amen.

  380. It's proper to win souls. Jesus was a

  381. soul winner. What did he say? He said,

  382. "The son of man's come to seek and to

  383. save that which was lost." Amen. And

  384. what was it? It was the lost souls of

  385. the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

  386. Amen. And when they turned their back on

  387. him, you know what he did? He turned to

  388. the lost souls of the gentile race. And

  389. that's what we're here doing tonight. We

  390. are here witnessing to the fact that

  391. Jesus is interested in souls. And you

  392. say, "Preacher, well, I just don't know

  393. about all that." Well, let me just say

  394. this. The person that won you to the

  395. Lord was sure about it.

  396. >> Amen. Aren't you thankful for somebody

  397. that was certain and sure about the so

  398. in fact of the scriptures that they came

  399. to where you was and said, "Hey, if you

  400. don't get saved, you're going to die and

  401. go to the place that God created for the

  402. devil and his angels." And you'll go

  403. there. You don't have to go there,

  404. though. You can find the way out. I'll

  405. show it to you. Jesus died to save you.

  406. HE LIVES TO SAVE YOU. AND IF YOU'LL

  407. TRUST HIM, HE WILL SAVE YOU. AMEN. And

  408. you can escape hell. Aren't you thankful

  409. for that person, that preacher, THAT

  410. SUNDAY SCHOOL teacher that believed in

  411. it? Amen.

  412. >> You say, "Preacher, but that still

  413. doesn't answer the question of how to do

  414. it." Well, Jude gives us some principles

  415. here tonight, and it's going to come

  416. with an ugly word. Okay? We dealt with

  417. this thought of devotion, but I want to

  418. deal with this subject of discernment.

  419. Now, I'll say this to you tonight. It's

  420. something that much of our church is

  421. lacking in this day and time. You say,

  422. "What is discernment?" Well, it's the

  423. ability to determine between evil and

  424. good. It's the ability to determine

  425. between what's right and what's not.

  426. It's knowing the difference basically

  427. what that is. And you notice in this

  428. text, the Bible says in verse number 22,

  429. "And if some have compassion making a

  430. difference, and others save with fear,

  431. pulling them out of the fire, hating

  432. even the garment spotted by the flesh."

  433. Now, we had a missions conference back

  434. here several months ago at the church

  435. last year. I guess it was about August,

  436. somewhere near September. And we we call

  437. the missions conference making a

  438. difference. Now, the reason why we we

  439. didn't base it off of this verse, okay?

  440. It's the thought that many people have

  441. in their mind when we think about this

  442. making a difference thought, but that's

  443. not what this means. It's not making a

  444. difference in the sense of we're going

  445. to make a difference in the lost world.

  446. Because truth is, we have no ability to

  447. make any difference in this world. You

  448. say, "Preacher, well, what does it

  449. mean?" Well, I want to lay on your heart

  450. tonight this truth concerning the

  451. discernment of souls. Jude is talking

  452. about soulwinning here. He's not talking

  453. about making a difference for the cause

  454. of Christ. You say, "Well, how do you

  455. see that?" Well, notice the verse with

  456. me. What's the first word of that verse?

  457. Verse 22.

  458. And this is a continued statement. Now,

  459. this is not a continued statement from

  460. verse 21.

  461. Interjected amidst this statement is

  462. verse number 20 and 21. This is a

  463. continued statement from verse 18 and

  464. 19. Now, I want you to look at this text

  465. with me tonight. We're going to use our

  466. Bibles to do a little thinking. All

  467. right? So, stay with me. Notice verse 18

  468. and 19. The Bible says, or verse 17,

  469. notice the statement. But, beloved,

  470. remember ye the words which were spoken

  471. before the apostles of our Lord Jesus

  472. Christ, how that they told you there

  473. should be mockers in the last time, who

  474. should walk after their own ungodly

  475. lust. These be they who separate

  476. themselves sensual having not the

  477. spirit. Notice verse 22 now. And of some

  478. have compassion

  479. making a difference. Now you say what

  480. does that how does that relate to the

  481. verses that were just of before. Well

  482. Jude is talking about evangelizing

  483. people amidst apostasy.

  484. And let me say this. Evangelism in this

  485. day is as hard as it's ever been.

  486. Because people's got more of a head

  487. knowledge than they've ever had. Ain't

  488. that right, brother? They know more

  489. about the Bible and more about church

  490. than they've ever known before because

  491. it's it's mainstream.

  492. And uh you know, I'm thankful. I was

  493. listening to somebody talk the other day

  494. talking about Charlie Kirk and

  495. everything that he's brought into the

  496. Christian world. And I tell you this,

  497. the people that's operating on his

  498. platform now don't believe like he did.

  499. >> Amen. They don't believe like he did.

  500. They don't operate with the same spirit

  501. that he had. And it don't take about 10

  502. seconds to realize that they don't hold

  503. the same values his wife nor none of the

  504. rest of that crowd. They don't hold the

  505. same values that he did. Amen. And what

  506. I'm trying to say is is that

  507. Christianity it's made been made

  508. mainstream and it's been made the cool

  509. kid thing to be Young Life and and

  510. Turning Point and all of these big

  511. organizations. It's known nationwide.

  512. And I'm Look, I'm not throwing stones

  513. tonight, but here's what I'm doing.

  514. They're they're I'm trying to tell you

  515. that these are worksbased organizations.

  516. It does not it does not teach the the

  517. faith of the Lord Jesus Christ as it is

  518. scriptural. And so when he says here in

  519. the text, he is giving us two different

  520. methods. Verse 22 and verse 23. Verse

  521. 22, he is dealing with a compassionate

  522. method. Write that down. In verse 22, he

  523. is dealing with a compassionate method

  524. to soulwinning. Verse number 23, he is

  525. dealing with a cautionary method to sew

  526. in. And you say, "What is that?" Well,

  527. verse 22, he says, "And of some have

  528. compassion." Well, the instruction there

  529. is in verse 22, he's not t he's not

  530. saying, "And some people have

  531. compassion." No, that's not what he's

  532. saying. What he's saying is and of some

  533. that means some have compassion. What is

  534. he talking about? He's talking about the

  535. apostates in verse number 19. These be

  536. they who separate themselves sensual

  537. having not the spirit. There are certain

  538. people that you have to witness to that

  539. they know a whole lot.

  540. And amidst their great knowledge of the

  541. Christianity that they think they know

  542. about, they're clever devils is what

  543. they are. Amen. They don't know anything

  544. about real faith. But what they do know,

  545. they're very tender about it. And if you

  546. come to them and tell them they're going

  547. to die in rot in hell, they're going to

  548. laugh at you.

  549. And so you can't go to them and beat

  550. them in the head with truth and expect

  551. them to receive. He says in the text,

  552. notice it, and of some have compassion.

  553. There are some people that when you deal

  554. with them about salvation, you're going

  555. to have to be very tender.

  556. >> You say, "Preacher, I can't picture that

  557. in my mind." Well, let's just put it in

  558. real simple terms. This is not exactly

  559. what the text is talking about, but it's

  560. simple terms to understand. You're not

  561. going to witness to a 5-year-old the

  562. same way you're going to witness to a

  563. 60-year-old person that's been on

  564. alcohol their whole life.

  565. >> When a 5-year-old boy or girl is lost

  566. without God and they need to be saved,

  567. you know what you do with them? You

  568. don't look at them and say, "You're

  569. going to die and rot in hell because of

  570. your sin." That's not the way you deal

  571. with them.

  572. >> You deal with them and you say, "Now

  573. look, all right, you've come to me

  574. today. You ask them what their need is."

  575. And I'm just gonna give you a little

  576. crash course right here. If I had

  577. somebody come to the altar under 10

  578. years old, they've been in church their

  579. whole life and they want to get saved.

  580. This is how you would deal with them.

  581. You would ask them. They come to the

  582. altar and you say, "Why'd you come up

  583. here today?" All right. Why' you Why'd

  584. you come up here today? What can I help

  585. you with? And depending on what they

  586. tell you in that next sentence is going

  587. to determine how you approach this need.

  588. If they can't tell you the reason why

  589. they came to the altar, they're not

  590. ready to get saved.

  591. When God turns the light on, they come

  592. to this altar, they're going to know

  593. what they need.

  594. >> And so if that child tells me,

  595. "Preacher, I need to be saved." You know

  596. what I'm going to immediately begin to

  597. do? I'm going to immediately begin to go

  598. to the verses that they should be

  599. memorizing.

  600. Amen. The Romans road, John's road.

  601. Amen. John 3:16, John 15. All those

    John 3:16

  602. verses, all that text. I'm going to

  603. immediately begin to go to those

  604. scriptures and I'm going to tell them

  605. Romans 3 verse number 23. For all have

  606. sinned and come short of the glory of

  607. God. Do you know what sin is? And I'm

  608. going to ask them if they can tell me

  609. what sin is. Sin is anything I think,

  610. say, or do that displeases God. And if

  611. they tell you, well, my I I tell lies

  612. and I say things that I shouldn't say.

  613. You know what? For a 5 to 7, 10 year

  614. old, that's what their sin's going to

  615. be. Okay? They're going to disobey their

  616. parents. They're going to tell things

  617. that they shouldn't tell. Jude says,

  618. "And of some, have compassion." And with

  619. that young and you're going to look at

  620. them and say, "Hey, we want to tell you

  621. how you can be saved."

  622. You say, "Because of your sin, you were

  623. created in sin." You got to make sure

  624. you tell them that. In sin, you were

  625. conceived. From your birth, you were a

  626. sinner. You've never been perfect.

  627. >> And because of that sin, you need to be

  628. saved from your sin. But Jesus died

  629. >> for your sin.

  630. >> He took your sin debt. He paid your sin

  631. debt. And because of that, you can be

  632. saved. Amen.

  633. >> And then after you tell them that and

  634. they have their questions, you know,

  635. depending on what questions they have,

  636. you take them down whatever road you

  637. need to go down. But ultimately, this is

  638. what you get to. You tell them Jesus

  639. loves you.

  640. >> And that's what you tell everybody.

  641. >> But the method that you get to that

  642. point's a lot different sometimes.

  643. >> He said, "And of some have compassion."

  644. You say, "Well, preacher, how does this

  645. apply to apostates?" Well, people who

  646. are ignorant

  647. of Bible doctrine and Bible truth, but

  648. they've been fed a lie from the world

  649. that salvation is me doing enough works

  650. or me being faithful to church or me

  651. signing a church role or me being

  652. baptized. And you know what you can't

  653. tell them? Look them and say when they

  654. say, "Well, I'm saved because I got

  655. baptized." You can't look at them and

  656. say, "No, you're not."

  657. >> You know what you have to do? You have

  658. to begin to softly,

  659. gently lead them to the truth. See, you

  660. can't take somebody that's been steeped

  661. in religion for all their youth years

  662. and been told this, that, and the other

  663. and expect them to turn it all around in

  664. just a minute.

  665. >> Some you've got to have compassion. That

  666. word compassion that and if some have

  667. compassion, that phrase literally means

  668. the action word to compassionate,

  669. to show mercy is what that is. It means

  670. to extend grace. When dealing with

  671. someone that is needing compassion,

  672. needing mercy, there's a there's a a

  673. steps here I see in the verse. He says,

  674. "And of some have compassion making a

  675. difference." You say, "What is that

  676. making a difference?" That word

  677. difference there literally means a

  678. distinction,

  679. means to discern,

  680. to see that this person needs a soft

  681. approach. You know what? As a

  682. seven-year-old boy, you know what helped

  683. me get saved? That verse that says, "And

  684. the it's the goodness of God that leads

  685. thee to repentance.

  686. When I got saved, I didn't I didn't have

  687. a whole load of sin laundry list of

  688. things that I was carrying around on my

  689. back. But all I knew is God was dealing

  690. with my heart and I needed what he had

  691. to offer.

  692. >> And you know what? As I'd watched my

  693. daddy surrender to the ministry and I

  694. remember going to the altar that night

  695. and I just said, "Lord, I'll do whatever

  696. you want me to do." Seven years old

  697. because I knew that salvation wasn't

  698. just sins of commission, but sins of

  699. omission. Because you know what? Before

  700. that point, I'd never told anybody about

  701. Jesus. But you know what? After I got

  702. saved, I went to my family members that

  703. I knew didn't believe like mom and daddy

  704. did. And mom and daddy tried to tell me,

  705. "Hey, look, they're not going to be

  706. excited about you being saved." But you

  707. know what? That fire in my heart, I just

  708. wanted to tell them so bad because I'd

  709. been saved. There was a difference that

  710. had been made in my life. What I'm

  711. saying is on some there's got to be

  712. mercy that's shown. I thought about

  713. this. You see here in the text, there's

  714. the mercy of God that's expressed and of

  715. some have compassion. Second of all, not

  716. only the mercy of God is expressed, but

  717. there's a message of grace that's

  718. exchanged.

  719. You see, when some when a young child's

  720. never been steeped in sin, you're not

  721. going to talk to them about alcoholism

  722. and fornication and adultery.

  723. >> You're going to talk to them about the

  724. truths that are on their level.

  725. >> Their lies just going to send them to

  726. hell. the same way the drunks alcohol

  727. will.

  728. >> Amen.

  729. >> And so you deal with them on their

  730. level. There's a message of grace that

  731. must be exchanged. You must express to

  732. them that Jesus loves them and far

  733. greater than their sin is the love and

  734. sovereignty of Almighty God. You've got

  735. to be so careful. Heard people talk

  736. about having a bad experience. I've

  737. heard people say this um later on in

  738. life. Well, my mom and daddy told me I

  739. was too young to be saved. Oh no. Never

  740. tell a child that

  741. >> you're not ready yet. You don't know

  742. whether they're not ready or not yet.

  743. >> The truth is when they come to you and

  744. say, "Daddy, what does it mean to be

  745. saved?

  746. >> What do I need to do to be saved?" And

  747. you begin to talk to them. And the more

  748. you talk to them, the more that they

  749. become broken in their sin, you know

  750. what you need to do? You need to lead

  751. them to the foot of the cross.

  752. >> This Jesus died for you, baby. Jesus

  753. died for you. But Jesus lives for you.

  754. He didn't stay dead, but he got up so

  755. you could be saved. And if some have

  756. compassion, you've got to have mercy on

  757. them. And for your children, that's

  758. patience.

  759. >> That's what it is dealing with all

  760. people who's been staked in religion.

  761. People who are ignorant and don't know

  762. any better. You've got to have

  763. compassion, making a difference, showing

  764. discernment.

  765. The mercy of God must be expressed.

  766. There must be a message of grace that is

  767. exchanged. But I'll say this, for those

  768. that have been steeped in religion, not

  769. so much for children, it may be the

  770. case, but I don't know. For some, you're

  771. going to have to mitigate some guilt.

  772. You say, "What do you mean by that?"

  773. Well, you see, there's things that

  774. they've been taught their whole life

  775. that they're just finding out's wrong.

  776. >> They didn't know any better. People who

  777. are ignorant, you can't expect them to

  778. jump on the wagon with you just right

  779. off the bat. when they've been taught

  780. for 25, 30 years, you know, however long

  781. they've been living, you know, most time

  782. this is the younger generation, my

  783. generation up to 35, 40, very tender

  784. people. Tender. You got to be, you got

  785. to be merciful with them.

  786. >> They're going to be guilt. They're going

  787. to have some guilt, some things in their

  788. life that they're going to have to get

  789. over. And you say, "What is that?" Well,

  790. you're going to have to discern whether

  791. or not they're ready for it. You know,

  792. some people the first time that they

  793. hear the gospel, they're not going to be

  794. ready to receive it in that moment.

  795. It takes discernment knowing when you're

  796. dealing with somebody, it's going to

  797. take some patience, some mercy, because

  798. not everybody's ready at the same time

  799. you were. Man, I'm thankful that for our

  800. children around here's been raised in

  801. Christian school and mom and daddy, we

  802. go witness to them and they've been

  803. steeped in it and they know it. We talk

  804. to them. You know what happens when God

  805. turns the light on? They're ready

  806. because they know the truth.

  807. But most children, that's not the case.

  808. Most people, that's not the case. Man,

  809. isn't it sad? There's 30, 40, 50 year

  810. old people in this community that's

  811. never heard the name Jesus.

  812. You say, "Preacher, that ain't so."

  813. Well, I promise you, we could go within

  814. 10 miles of this church and you could

  815. find somebody, probably more than one

  816. that would say to you, "Nobody's ever

  817. told me about Jesus."

  818. I I think about this compassionate

  819. compassionate method here that he

  820. shares. And if some have compassion

  821. making a difference using discernment.

  822. Got to be careful. I tell you this,

  823. salvation is is a is the most important

  824. thing that's ever done. It's if it's

  825. worth doing, it's worth doing right.

  826. Somebody say amen.

  827. >> You got to tell them the truth. But you

  828. got to do it in love. Amen. But I

  829. noticed this and this is where many of

  830. us fall tonight. And look, I don't want

  831. you to think tonight that I'm hyper

  832. sensitive. Amen. And I'm going to, you

  833. know, tiptoe around everybody's

  834. feelings. But I'll tell you this, a

  835. child, you got to be careful.

  836. I don't want to hurt their feelings when

  837. I'm trying to lead them to Christ. If

  838. they're ready to receive Christ, you

  839. better not down them.

  840. >> Amen.

  841. >> Down their character, their more you. If

  842. they say, "Well, I tell a lie." You're

  843. not going to look at them and say,

  844. "Well, you hellion."

  845. >> No. You know how you say that? You know

  846. that's not right, little Johnny.

  847. You see, you got to do it with

  848. discernment.

  849. It's what we're lacking this day and

  850. time. You said, "Preacher, what is

  851. discernment? the Holy Ghost of God

  852. speaking to your hearts what it is.

  853. Notice this. I see not only here the

  854. compassion that he shows in this

  855. discernment, but consider the caution

  856. that he shows in verse 23. What's those

  857. first two words of verse 23?

  858. And others. So there's a clear

  859. differentiation here. He's wanting to

  860. move on from this first thought to the

  861. next thought. And again, he's dealing

  862. with the witness evangelizing

  863. apostates. Listen to what he says. and

  864. others saved with fear, pulling them out

  865. of the fire, hating even the garment

  866. spotted by the flesh. So, so for showing

  867. compassion, this deals with the thought

  868. of expressing the mercy of God, having

  869. ex a message of grace exchanged with the

  870. and also mitigating some of the guilt

  871. that they have. And let me just say

  872. again on that point, there's some things

  873. that children when they realize that,

  874. you know, their lie is going to send

  875. them to hell, that guilt, that guilt's

  876. going to ride on them. Tender, how

  877. tender they are, that's going to hurt

  878. them. You have to show them the love of

  879. God. I feel like I can't emphasize that

  880. enough. Amen. You got to make sure

  881. you're doing this thing the right way.

  882. But I'll say this. He also gives us here

  883. in verse 23. And I I notice three points

  884. in this. You you see this caution that

  885. he gives and others save with fear. Now

  886. he's clearly given a differentiation

  887. here. And what is that? Well, number

  888. one, he relates a vision of fear in

  889. verse 23. And others save with fear. It

  890. does not mean that there are other

  891. people who are out of their fear and

  892. dread of, you know, somebody dying and

  893. going to hell that they're going to go

  894. and witness to them. That's not what

  895. this means. It means that others are

  896. employing.

  897. All right, notice that. And others save

  898. with fear. For some people, in order to

  899. see their need, they going to have to

  900. get scared.

  901. >> Now, I'll be honest with you. I' I've

  902. been in the belief a long time. I you

  903. know I I've I've struggled with that for

  904. many years because I thought to myself

  905. well you know in my case as a young boy

  906. I you know that even years after I got

  907. saved I struggled my salvation because

  908. of fear. I I I had a very sensitive fear

  909. in my life about hell. And I remember

  910. preachers preaching on that even after I

  911. got saved. It took me many years to get

  912. the truth settled in my heart that I was

  913. never going there. And I thought to

  914. myself, well people that just get saved

  915. because they want to get out of hell,

  916. that's just a fleshly thing. In in a

  917. sense it is. Okay. In a sense it is. If

  918. only reason you got saved is cuz you

  919. wanted to get out of hell free card.

  920. Amen. That's pretty shallow.

  921. Amen. But you know what the Bible says

  922. and others save with fear. You know what

  923. the Bible trumps man's ideas and

  924. opinions. You know that.

  925. >> And I'll admit to you tonight, the Bible

  926. literally says right there it is. Others

  927. save with fear. Some people for the

  928. drunk in the ditch, he's going to have

  929. to get scared out of his mind

  930. in order to be saved. There are some

  931. people that they're going to have to

  932. lose a loved one. They're going to have

  933. to have some near-death experience for

  934. God to get a hold of them. They're going

  935. to have God's going to have to do. You

  936. say, "Well, what's an example of that?"

  937. Well, let me just give you an example.

  938. All right. When Zakius got saved, you

  939. know what the Bible said? Jesus come by

  940. and he was up there in that tree. You

  941. remember what he said? Zakius, come

  942. down. He was wanting to see Jesus. Amen.

  943. He said, "You come down. man, I'm going

  944. to your house today. Amen. You know the

  945. song. And so what did Zakius do? He

  946. climbed down the tree and went to went

  947. to his house and Jesus met him there and

  948. he got saved. Amen. And paid all that

  949. money back that he had stolen. God saved

  950. and salvation had come to his house.

  951. That's what Jesus said. But you know

  952. what? The Apostle Paul on the road to

  953. Damascus, you know what happened to him?

  954. He had a supernatural

  955. experience with God.

  956. >> God had to grab him by the neck.

  957. Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

  958. It's hard for thee to kick against the

  959. pricks. Saul fell to the GROUND BEING

  960. BLIND. WHO ART THOU, LORD?

  961. SAID, I'm Jesus whom thou persecutest.

  962. Two very different situations. But you

  963. know what happened? Salvation came in

  964. both of them.

  965. >> Look what he says. And others save with

  966. fear. Saved with fear. Now, now here's

  967. this vision of fear. Some people's going

  968. to have to see something. And and so let

  969. me say this to you. All right? When we

  970. when we're dealing with somebody about

  971. salvation, nobody's salvation experience

  972. is the same. And so when you are

  973. witnessing to somebody, you ought to

  974. never use your experience as an example.

  975. You ought to go to the Bible and say,

  976. "This is what salvation is. For

  977. whosoever shall call upon the name of

  978. the Lord shall be saved." All right?

  979. What has got them to that point? You

  980. can't change that. If they've had some

  981. near-death experience, if you're sitting

  982. on the side of the road with somebody

  983. was in a car accident and they've had a

  984. near-death experience and you're

  985. witnessing to them and you tell them

  986. that verse and they're ready to get

  987. saved, praise the Lord for it. But you

  988. don't need to go through your testimony

  989. >> in order to lead them to the Lord. You

  990. need to go to this Bible.

  991. >> Amen.

  992. And so he says there needs to be a

  993. vision of fear and some saved with fear.

  994. Salvation is wrought out of a fear of

  995. their heart.

  996. Notice this. Not only a vision of fear,

  997. but there needs to be a uh they are

  998. vigilantly free. Now, I use that for a

  999. sake of literation. Look what he says.

1000. Verse 23. And others saved with fear.

1001. Notice that pulling them out of the

1002. fire. That word that word pulling there

1003. has the same ideas of of the word

1004. rapture. It's that that Greek word uh

  1005. harp harpun punzo. I can't remember

1006. exactly how it's said, but it has to do

  1007. with that that shooting. It's a

  1008. retrieving. A harpoon, you know, it's

1009. something that's shot with a rope on it

1010. and then you can pull it back to

1011. yourself. The rapture when we're taken

1012. out, we're literally catched away. The

1013. Bible says, and this verse, pulling them

1014. out of the fire, it has the same idea.

1015. We're reaching out. We are harpooning

1016. them and pulling them back. You know,

1017. tell some people you have to win that

  1018. way.

1019. Some people are so steeped in their sin,

1020. you have to literally take the gospel

1021. and just stab them through the heart.

1022. You say, "Preacher, you can't do that."

  1023. No, I can't. But I've watched the Holy

  1024. Spirit do it.

1025. >> You preach a message to people and they

1026. fall in a million pieces and they come

1027. running to the altar. I've seen it time

1028. and time again. They come running. Why?

1029. Because they're so deep in sin. It takes

1030. something. The the magnitude of the sin

1031. they're in, hear what I'm fixing to say.

1032. The magnitude of the sin that they are

1033. in is so large that the salvation that

1034. is offered to them has to be just as

1035. large to get their attention.

1036. You think about that for a minute. You

1037. understand what I'm saying? They have to

1038. be vigilantly. I'm talking about

1039. vehematly vigilantly. There has to be a

1040. strong reaching forth. And others say

1041. with fear pulling them out of the fire.

1042. That fire represents sudden destruction.

1043. If it were not for the reaching forth of

1044. the gospel, God reaching his hand into

1045. their life and through fear in their

1046. life getting a hold of them, they would

1047. be destroyed. You've seen it. I've seen

1048. it. People that are at the end of their

1049. life on death, death's bed because of

1050. their sin, what do they do? THEY CRY OUT

1051. TO JESUS BECAUSE HE'S REACHING OUT HIS

1052. HAND. THEY'VE GOT NOTHING ELSE TO LOOK

1053. TO. THEY'VE GOT NOTHING ELSE TO CLING

1054. TO. AND SO JESUS REACHES DOWN HIS HAND.

1055. AND IN DESPERATION, THEY CRY OUT TO GOD,

  1056. "LORD, SAVE ME."

1057. >> Because they in a place where the fire's

  1058. going to take them.

1059. Notice this. Not only the vision of fear

1060. and that they need to be freed, but I'll

1061. say this. He tells us that it's

1062. dangerous to witness to these type. Look

1063. what he says. And others save with fear

1064. pulling them out of the fire. Look what

1065. that last phrase says. Hating even the

1066. garment spotted by the flesh. That that

1067. image has the idea of leprosy.

1068. That leper, he would wear those garments

1069. and and you know those garments would be

1070. tainted. They would be to throw away.

1071. He said, "You know, we're not even not

1072. even hating the disease. We're hating

1073. the the garment that's stained by the

1074. disease." He says, "When you witness to

1075. these people," he said, "you've got to

1076. give them the gospel and nothing else."

1077. I'll tell you this, there's been some

1078. people in my life, and I know that

1079. probably didn't make sense to you right

1080. off the bat, but there's been some

1081. people in my life God told me, I felt

1082. like he led me through the Holy Spirit

1083. to go and give them the gospel. But you

1084. know what? I felt like he impressed upon

1085. my heart, you don't strike up a

  1086. conversation with them.

1087. You can't be friends with that person.

1088. You can't love on that person because

1089. they're going to pull you into their

  1090. mess.

1091. >> Look what he says. Hating even the

1092. garment spotted by the flesh. That

1093. garment is not the one that's lost. That

1094. garment is the one who is saved trying

1095. to win the one that's lost.

1096. You ever seen it? Mom comes walking

1097. through the house with them muddy

1098. clothes and what's she doing?

1099. There's some people you got to handle

  1100. with care.

1101. Notice it again. Hating even the garment

1102. that is spotted by the flesh. You say,

1103. "What is that?" Well, that's that means

1104. we got to stay vexed by the flesh.

1105. Stay vexed. Your flesh is defiled. And

1106. you know what'll happen to you if you

1107. try to witness to them. And and then out

1108. of that, you know what? God get the

1109. devil get a hold of you.

1110. You say, "Preacher, there ain't no way

1111. that could happen." I'm telling you,

  1112. friend, he's he's he's subtle.

1113. He walketh about as a roaring lion,

1114. seeking whom he may devour.

1115. >> Let me say this tonight. You say,

1116. "Preacher, I'm not at all interested in

1117. this." You probably number one either

1118. need to get saved or you need to get

  1119. right with God.

1120. >> This right here is what our life is,

  1121. church.

1122. >> Witnessing to other people. And if you

1123. are not careful, good Christian people

1124. get pulled into it all the time. If you

1125. witness to somebody and that dirtiness

1126. of their life gets on you, man, I'm

1127. telling you, there's things that can

  1128. happen.

1129. We need to stay vexed by the flesh,

1130. hating even the garment spotted by the

1131. flesh. We got to stay clean. I'll tell

1132. you this. Uh be careful about those

1133. family members that you have when they

1134. want to drink and party and live it up.

1135. You say, "Preacher, well, I'm going to

1136. go witness to them." Well, let me just

1137. say this. It's a whole lot easier for

1138. them to drag you down than it is for you

1139. to pull them up. Right?

1140. >> Your flesh will overtake you a whole lot

1141. more likely than the spirit will

1142. overtake them in the midst of that

1143. drinking mess. You're not going to be

1144. able to witness to somebody who's who's

  1145. who's sousted,

1146. completely gone. They're not in their

1147. right mind anyway. There's a reason why

1148. they call that stuff spirits.

1149. They can't receive the truth because

1150. they don't have no employment of the

1151. mind to receive it with.

1152. that man, that demoniac there in g in

1153. the gatherines, Bible says that they

1154. found him and he was naked. He was

1155. running about through the tombs cutting

1156. themselves and after Jesus dealt with

1157. him, what happened? He was clothed in

1158. his right mind. But you know what it

1159. took? It took Jesus getting a hold of

  1160. him.

1161. >> Nobody else could help him. You remember

1162. that? The Bible says no man could bind

1163. him. No, not with chains. You know, the

1164. only way you'll deal with a man like

1165. that is if God first breaks him.

1166. >> That's exactly right. The only way that

1167. you'll win somebody who has an addiction

1168. that overtakes them, God's going to have

  1169. to break them first,

  1170. >> and then

1171. then and only then will they be able to

1172. receive the truth. Notice this, and I'm

1173. done tonight. There's the devotion to

1174. the Savior. There is the discernment of

  1175. souls.

1176. And notice how it continues here. And

1177. and I said I said all that to say this.

1178. He's telling us how to evangelize amidst

1179. apostasy. And I want to remind you

1180. soulwinning it is the most important

1181. thing that the church does apart from

1182. praying and worshiping God. We want to

1183. glorify God number one but we want to

1184. win souls number two. That's our

  1185. calling. That's what we're supposed to

1186. do. Visitation ought not to be the most

1187. poorly attended thing of the church.

1188. >> It ought not be the thing that everybody

1189. gets out on because they think, "Well, I

  1190. just don't I don't I don't I just don't

1191. know about that. I'm not that kind of

  1192. person, preacher.

1193. Let me ask you this. You better be

1194. thankful the person that won you to the

1195. Lord wasn't that kind of person.

1196. >> Notice verse 24. I'll say more about it

1197. in a minute. Now unto him that is able

1198. to keep you from falling and to present

1199. you faultless before the presence of his

1200. glory with exceeding joy. To the only

1201. wise God our savior be glory and

1202. majesty, dominion and power both now and

1203. forever. Now he gives us this admonition

1204. here, this divine sanctification. What

1205. is that? Well, he says, "Now unto him

1206. that is able to keep you from falling."

1207. Amidst this age of apostasy, it would be

1208. easier for any of us to stumble than

  1209. it's ever been.

1210. Any of us, you, me, any of us. Right

1211. now, in this moment is the most

1212. dangerous time that you could live as a

  1213. Christian.

1214. >> The last days, perilous time shall come.

1215. It's only gotten worse, and it's only

1216. going to get worse until he comes back.

1217. Evil men and seducers, what does the

1218. Bible say? shall wax worse and worse,

  1219. deceiving and being deceived.

1220. For every truth, there's 10 lies. For

1221. every truth, there's a hundred lies. For

1222. every true man of God, there's 10 that

  1223. ain't preaching the word.

  1224. I'm telling you, it's a dangerous time.

1225. But Jude says this. Now, to him that's

1226. able to keep you from falling.

1227. You see, God is able to preserve you in

  1228. the present.

1229. right now in this time he is able to

1230. preserve you. But you know what that

1231. takes? You say, "Preacher, do you feel

1232. like you need preservation?" I know I

1233. need it because you know what? If I

  1234. wasn't care if it wasn't careful, I

1235. could fall into some doctrine.

1236. >> Turn this church inside out and upside

  1237. down.

1238. >> Devil like nothing more than that.

1239. >> The devil would love for me to become a

1240. Calvinist and tell you you can't know

1241. that you're saved. And I and you know

1242. you e you were either saved when you

1243. were born or or you ain't going to ever

1244. get saved. He would love for me to

1245. become that way. He would love for me to

1246. roll over and get on my back and quit.

1247. He would love Amen. If all of you just

1248. quit believing and quit trusting the

1249. Lord and quit being faithful to church,

  1250. he would love that.

  1251. >> Amen.

1252. >> But let me remind you, it's going to

1253. take God to preserve you from the

1254. attacks of the enemy. He is able to keep

1255. you from falling. He is able to preserve

1256. you. But I'll say this, he's not only

1257. able to preserve you in the present, but

1258. I'll say this. He's also able to present

1259. you perfect in the future. Look what he

1260. says. Notice the verse. He's able to

1261. keep you from falling and to present you

1262. faultless. Faultless before the presence

1263. of his glory with exceeding joy. Now,

1264. this is what I love about this. You say,

1265. "Preacher, well, I'm never going to be

1266. faultless." Well, there ain't never been

1267. a one that is. But you know what? The

1268. reason we can be righteous and we can be

1269. blameless before God is because Jesus

1270. placed his righteousness on us. Right?

1271. >> Because of that, he can present us pure

1272. and blameless before the Lord. Paul

1273. said, he said, "I've fought a good

  1274. fight. I've kept the faith. I've

1275. finished my course. Henceforth laid up

1276. for me, a clown of crown of

1277. righteousness, which the Lord shall give

1278. me at that day, not to me only, but all

1279. to them to them also that love his

1280. appearing." The truth is, you know, Paul

1281. said at one place, Philippians said, "I

1282. count not myself to apprehend it." He

1283. said, "But this one thing I do. I'm

1284. pressing forward the mark for the prize

1285. of the high calling of God in Christ

1286. Jesus. He said, "I'm reaching forward to

1287. those things which are before and

1288. leaving behind, forgetting those things

1289. which are behind." He's pressing toward

1290. that mark. And you know what? One day in

1291. his life, he said, "I've finished."

1292. You know what? I didn't think it was

1293. possible that I could finish, but you

1294. know what? If I stay in the will of God

1295. and stay with the word of God and let

1296. the witness of God, the Holy Spirit

1297. guide my life, you know what he's

1298. telling me? I can finish.

1299. >> You don't have to finish disqualified.

1300. You can finish perfected. He is able to

1301. present you faultless before the

1302. presence of his glory with exceeding

1303. joy. So much in these verses. To the

1304. only wise God, our savior be glory and

1305. majesty, dominion and power both now and

  1306. forever.

1307. The only way that we'll make it in there

1308. is if his sanctification takes us there.

1309. Let me say this to you tonight. The

1310. drive the drive of this message has been

1311. this subject of discernment and souls. I

1312. dealt with a message this morning

1313. concerning the souls of men.

1314. And the truth is tonight, the soul is

1315. the most valuable thing that is.

1316. >> My soul, your soul, it's the most

1317. valuable thing that there is.

1318. Let me say this to you. There's plenty

1319. out there that have not been reached

  1320. with the gospel.

1321. And this is what I'm afraid of. You say,

1322. "Preacher, well, I want to reach them. I

  1323. want to reach them."

1324. This is what I'm afraid of. People are

1325. not prepared to reach them.

1326. You say, "What do you mean I'm not

1327. prepared to reach them?" Well, you're

1328. not faithful in your Bible.

1329. You're not faithful to your prayer

1330. closet. I'll tell you this. I'd hate to

1331. try to be leading somebody out of hell

  1332. and hadn't prayed in a week.

1333. Hadn't read my Bible in three days.

1334. You say, "What does it require?"

  1335. requires faithfulness.

1336. There's going to be souls that come in

  1337. this week. I ain't ain't a doubt in my

1338. mind. I feel like the Holy Ghost been

1339. impressing me about this since we since

1340. we started talking about this meeting.

1341. There going to be people here this week

  1342. that's lost. And the thing is, I don't

  1343. know. I mean, there's some of you I

1344. don't think I could trust you to lead

  1345. them to the Lord.

1346. You say, "Preacher, how dare you say

1347. that?" I'm just trying to be real with

1348. you. You don't live it.

1349. It doesn't mean anything to you. Why do

1350. you expect to be able to lead somebody

1351. to God if if your Christian life doesn't

1352. even mean anything to you?

  1353. >> This thing's more than a game.

1354. >> It's more than Sunday and Wednesday

1355. night and revival meeting. It's more

  1356. than that.

1357. >> You're going to have to have some

1358. discernment. You know where that comes

1359. from? It comes from time in this book

1360. and time on your knees.

  1361. And we need it.

1362. And the thing is, I believe we're not

1363. having missionaries and preachers called

1364. is because men are not listening.

1365. They're not taking seriously the call of

1366. God on their life because they're not

1367. even opening the Bible enough to hear

  1368. it.

1369. I'll tell you this, the call of God

1370. started working in my life in my

1371. personal private study time. When I felt

1372. God calling me to preach, it wasn't

1373. because I heard some sermon somewhere.

1374. It's because there was a burning in my

1375. heart from that book right there that I

1376. was reading in my own time. You got to

1377. tell somebody about what that says. And

1378. it's more than just soul winning and

1379. just witnessing. There was a fire shut

1380. up in my bones and I just couldn't let

1381. it go. But you know what? They come a

1382. day when that preacher preached a

1383. message and God said, "Son, it's time."

  1384. You know what I did? I didn't hesitate.

1385. I've heard people say this. Well, you

1386. know, you ought to wait a little while

1387. and think about that. I tell you what, I

1388. was just as sure as anything I ever

1389. done. That's what he want me to do. Why

1390. don't you take it seriously?

  1391. I can't understand a person that would

1392. spend their life saying that they're

1393. called of God, never do anything with

  1394. it.

1395. >> Saying that you're saved, never telling

1396. anybody else how to be saved.

  1397. It's serious.

1398. Let me ask you tonight, what's your

1399. decision? Because the truth is we're

1400. living in apostasy. We would all agree

1401. with that. But the command is still the

1402. same. What Jesus say? Go ye, teach all

1403. nations, baptizing them in the name of

1404. the Father and the Son and of the Holy

1405. Ghost, teaching them to observe all

1406. things whatsoever I've commanded you.

1407. You know what that requires?

  1408. Discernment.

1409. You going to have to know some things.

1410. Don't wait on me to teach you

1411. everything. Don't wait on these

1412. gray-haired saints of God here to teach

1413. you how to seow win.

  1414. I know it's quiet,

1415. but when we going to take it seriously,

1416. every head bowed and every eye closed

  1417. tonight.

  1418. I told you this

1419. when I first came to the church, and

1420. I've been telling you this since I came,

1421. that we're going to take this thing

  1422. higher.

1423. We're going to draw near to God.

1424. You know what that's going to require?

1425. That's going to require things to get

  1426. holier.

1427. It's going to require people to be more

1428. right with God than they've ever been.

1429. It's going to require you to embrace the

1430. burden maybe you've never embraced

  1431. before.

1432. You say, "Preacher, I want to win

1433. souls." But you say that, but you're not

  1434. faithful.

  1435. This altar's open.

  1436. Say, "Preacher,

1437. if I come up there, I'm going to admit

1438. you need what I'm saying."

1439. Let me tell you this. Every one of us

1440. need to step it up,

  1441. include myself. There's souls that's

1442. lost and dying all around us every day.

1443. And if we don't reach them, who's going

1444. to? Let me ask you, who's going to get a

  1445. burden?

1446. Who's going to shed tears on an altar?

1447. Who's going to decide that they're going

  1448. to lose some sleep?

1449. Say, "Preacher, well, God's not put it

1450. on me." It's because you can't take it.

1451. Get in your prayer closet AND GET BEFORE

1452. GOD AND SAY, "GOD, MAKE ME WHO YOU WANT

  1453. ME TO BE."

1454. I'm talking about real Christian life,

1455. real discernment, real devotion to God.

1456. The reason why you can't shout that

1457. Jesus is coming back is because you

1458. don't ever talk to him.

1459. Man, I'm telling you, I'm thankful that

1460. when I step foot over there, I'm not not

1461. concerned ABOUT WONDERING WHAT HIS voice

1462. is going to sound like. I know what his

1463. voice sounds like. He greets me in the

1464. morning and goes with me through the day

1465. and goes to bed with me at night. I KNOW

1466. HIS VOICE AND I BLESS HIS NAME. THAT HE

1467. WALKS WITH ME AND TALKS WITH ME AND

1468. TELLS ME THAT I'M HIS OWN. AND MAN, I'M

1469. TELLING YOU, IT'S JOY LIVING FOR JESUS

1470. AND SERVING FOR JESUS. BUT WHY DON'T

1471. SOME OF YOU GET IN ON IT?

1472. You're going to have all week,

1473. but even then, I'm afraid some of you

  1474. still won't.

1475. I'm being real candid tonight. But I got

1476. to tell you the truth.

1477. Some have come to pray. You need to come

  1478. tonight.

1479. You may be here tonight and you're not

  1480. saved.

  1481. Say, "Preacher, I don't know Jesus.

1482. Would you pray for me?

1483. Preacher, I'm not saved. Nobody looking

1484. around but me. Holy Ghost deal with your

  1485. heart.

  1486. Hey, Jesus loves you.

1487. Wherever you're at, Jesus loves you.

1488. He died to save you." Let me say this.

1489. There's no pit too deep. There's no

1490. place too dark that his mercy can't

1491. reach through and have a you can have a

1492. breakthrough tonight and know him and be

1493. close to him and have what YOU'VE NEVER

1494. HAD BEFORE IN YOUR LIFE. You can lay

1495. your head on your pillar TONIGHT WITH

1496. PEACE. LET ME SAY THIS TO YOU, CHILD OF

1497. GOD. YOU CAN LAY YOUR head on your

1498. pillow tonight WITH PEACE IF YOU ONLY DO

1499. WHAT GOD IS TELLING YOU TO. You say,

1500. "Preacher, but it hurts. IT'S GOING TO

1501. COST ME." WELL, LET ME SAY THIS. THE

1502. CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL COST YOU EVERYTHING.

1503. But unless you're willing to surrender,

1504. you'll never know that true peace,

1505. that peace of God that passeth all

  1506. understanding.

1507. Father, I pray in Jesus name tonight.
