  9. >> He's worthy tonight.

  10. >> Amen. And thank you ladies for those two

  11. beautiful songs. And I tell you what, we

  12. ought to never stop.

  13. >> Amen. And uh he said in everything, give

  14. thanks. Amen. For this is the will of

  15. God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I

  16. tell you what, there ain't nothing that

  17. we we faced yet or will we ever face we

  18. can't give thanks in the face of.

  19. >> Amen. And you say, "Preacher, you don't

  20. know where I'm at." Well, you just think

  21. about where Jesus went.

  22. >> Amen. And uh

  23. >> Hebrews said, writer of Hebrews said,

  24. "Who for the joy?" That's right.

  25. >> Set before him, endured the cross. Jesus

  26. went to Calvary with a thankful heart.

  27. >> You get a hold of that. That'll help

  28. you. Amen.

  29. >> Man, I appreciate this man of God being

  30. here with us this week and been looking

  31. forward to having him back with us. He

  32. was with us, I guess, what were you with

  33. us? November, I guess it was. Jubilee

  34. preached for us on Sunday and I don't

  35. guess that I mentioned this. I guess

  36. first time I met you was 2017 I guess it

  37. was Jubilee winter jubilee maybe I think

  38. maybe and uh preach preach there and uh

  39. I've tell you I've always admired his

  40. preaching and I appreciate God using him

  41. and he has used him and he is using him

  42. and he's got his hand on. I'll say this

  43. give me undivided attention tonight and

  44. I told him to preach whatever God puts

  45. on his heart. Amen.

  46. >> And I know he'll do that tonight.

  47. Preacher, you come and I love you in the

  48. Lord. Thank you for being here. And I

  49. appreciate you preach to us. Take as

  50. long as you need, brother. God bless

  51. you.

  52. >> Amen. Well, it's good to be saved, isn't

  53. it?

  54. >> Amen. I sure love the Lord. Appreciate

  55. all his goodness to us. You can be

  56. turning Isaiah 59 tonight. Isaiah

    Isaiah 59 chapter mention

  57. chapter 59. We'll give you the thought

  58. that the Lord has impressed upon our

  59. hearts for this evening. And I sure

  60. appreciate the privilege it is to be

  61. back here at Meadows Baptist Church. And

  62. uh thank you pastor for the invitation

  63. and all the kindness and church. Thank

  64. you so much for the wonderful

  65. accommodations and all that you've

  66. already provided. Got in the room there

  67. about 5:00 and appreciate the Lord

  68. allowing us to get safely up here. You

  69. pray for our voice. We've been in

  70. revival for the last several weeks uh in

  71. different places. So we pray we and uh

  72. and it's now springtime and you know

  73. what that means. I've got them wonderful

  74. allergies. So you pray God would help

  75. our voice this week and thank God. I

  76. enjoyed the good singing tonight.

  77. Enjoyed the fellowship and I love uh

  78. getting to fellowship with you. I've

  79. thought about you ever since I left here

  80. uh back in the fall. I really enjoyed

  81. that Sunday. Got to spend with you and

  82. just thank the Lord for all that he's

  83. done. Let's stand together tonight as

  84. you're uh able in Isaiah 59. We'll read

  85. a few verses and I'll give you the

  86. thought that is in our heart and uh

  87. we'll uh give invitation for we're done

  88. tonight and ask God to do only what he

  89. can do. And we're trusting him and

  90. preacher I thank you. I love you. love

  91. you and your family. Been trying to pray

  92. for us, pray towards these days. And I'm

  93. excited to see what God's going to do. I

  94. believe he's a big God and he's a good

  95. God. He if we'll listen to him, do what

  96. he says. Ain't no telling what he'll do.

  97. And uh Amen. I so appreciate that. And

  98. I'm thankful for it. Isaiah 59 and we'll

  99. start reading in verse number one. The

  100. Bible says, "Behold, the Lord's hand is

  101. not shortened that it cannot save,

  102. neither is ear heavy that it cannot

  103. hear, but your iniquities have separated

  104. between you and your God. And your sins

  105. have hid his face from you that he will

  106. not hear. For ye hands are defiled with

  107. blood, your fingers with iniquity. Your

  108. lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath

  109. muttered perverseness. None calleth for

  110. justice, nor any pleadith for truth.

  111. They trust in vanity and speak lies.

  112. They conceive mischief and bring forth

  113. iniquity. They hatch cockatrous eggs and

  114. weed the spider's web. And he that

  115. eateth other eggs dieth, and that which

  116. is crushed breakth out into a viper.

  117. Their webs shall not become garments,

  118. neither shall they cover themselves with

  119. their works. Their works are works of

  120. iniquity, and the act of violence is in

  121. their hands. If you will skip uh down to

  122. verse number 11, the Bible says, "We

  123. roar all like bears, and mourn soar like

  124. doves. We look for judgment, but there

  125. is none, for salvation, but it is far

  126. from us. For our transgressions are

  127. multiplied before thee, and our sins

  128. testify against us, and our for our

  129. transgressions are with us. And as for

  130. our iniquities, we know them in

  131. transgressing and lying against the

  132. Lord, and departing away from our God,

  133. speaking oppression and revolt,

  134. conceiving and uttering from the heart

  135. words of falsehood, and judgment is

  136. turned away backward, and justice

  137. standeth a far off. For truth is fallen

  138. in the street, and equity cannot enter.

  139. Yay, truth faileth, and he that

  140. departeth from evil maketh himself a

  141. prey. Notice this next verse. AND THE

  142. LORD SAW IT, and it displeased him that

  143. there was no judgment. And he saw that

  144. there was no man, and wondered that

  145. there was no intercessor. Therefore, his

  146. arm brought salvation unto him, and his

  147. righteousness it sustained him. For he

  148. put on righteousness as a breastplate,

  149. and an helmet of salvation upon his

  150. head, and he put on the garments of

  151. vengeance for clothing, and was clad

  152. with zeal as a cloak. Let's pause and

  153. ask God's help again tonight. Father in

  154. Jesus lovely name. Father I stand where

  155. no man needs to stand alone tonight. God

  156. I beg you for a little while that you

  157. touch our voice and body. AND GOD TOUCH

  158. OUR mind and our heart that we'd be the

  159. vessel you'd have us to be in this hour.

  160. God for the sinner that you'd deal with

  161. them and save them. And for us as your

  162. people, oh God, that you'd draw us again

  163. and that you'd revive us again. And oh

  164. Lord, it wouldn't be for our glory. It

  165. wouldn't be uh for US TO LOOK ON

  166. OURSELVES. UH BUT it'd be for us to get

  167. our eyes on you again. Uh and when it's

  168. all said and done, we'll give you THE

  169. PRAISE AND THE honor and the glory and

  170. thanksgiving. Thank you, Lord, for being

  171. so good in Jesus' name. We ask with much

  172. thanksgiving. Amen. And amen. You can be

  173. seated. Thank you for standing as we've

  174. read and prayed together again tonight.

  175. Isaiah chapter number 59. As I come to

  176. these uh verses in your hearing, I I

  177. I'll be honest. I I love the book of

  178. Isaiah. It is known as uh the little

  179. Bible. It's got the 66 chapters like our

  180. Bible has the 66 books. Praise the Lord.

  181. He's got me some water. Amen. Appreciate

  182. that, dear brother. Amen. We'll make

  183. good use of that. That ain't nobody's

  184. spit bottle, is it? Amen. Praise God. I

  185. got to make sure in these mountain

  186. churches. I've come from back home. You

  187. got to check. Hallelujah. Amen. But one

  188. thing I love about Isaiah, it's that God

  189. revealed much to this great man of God.

  190. AND GOD SHOWED HIM MUCH ABOUT our Lord

  191. and our Savior, uh, Jesus Christ. God

  192. used him not only to be a mouthpiece for

  193. the future, but God used him to be a

  194. mouthpiece for his day and for his hour.

  195. Let me remind you that when you're

  196. looking at the Old Testament prophets,

  197. it was not just for fortelling future

  198. events, but it was for forthtelling what

  199. needed to be dealt with in the day in

  200. which they lived. Isaiah dealt with

  201. political corruptness. He dealt with

  202. kings that went astray and went ary. HE

  203. SAW GOD DO GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS. AND

  204. NOW HE IS standing in a nation that is

  205. filled with wickedness. And the judgment

  206. OF GOD IS ABOUT TO SET IN. And God is

  207. looking for ONE MAN TO STEP BETWEEN his

  208. wrath AND MAN'S SIN. BUT THIS BIBLE

  209. tells us in verse 16, "AND HE SAW that

  210. there was no man and wondered that there

  211. was no intercessor." Isaiah standing

  212. there prophesying in the midst of one of

  213. Israel's darkest days. And it seems

  214. hopeless and sad. But let me say, as

  215. dark as the days were, and as dark as

  216. THE DAYS ARE NOW, THERE IS A GOD THAT

  217. WANTS US TO DRAW NIGH TO HIM. He said,

  218. "DRAW NIGH TO ME AND I will draw nigh

  219. unto you." HEY, THERE IS A GOD THAT IS

  220. WANTING AND WILLING FOR US TO COME TO

  221. HIM in prayer, to come TO HIM AND CALL

  222. OUT ON BEHALF OF OUR NATION, ON BEHALF

  223. OF OUR NEEDS, ON BEHALF OF OUR NEIGHBORS

  224. that are lost in their sin and HEADED TO

  225. HELL. GOD, HELP US TO DRAW back to God

  226. again.

  227. >> In Isaiah's day, there was major

  228. disloyalty to God.

  229. In that day it was so vile and so

  230. wicked. There was DANGER ON EVERY HAND.

  231. THERE WAS disintegration of the home and

  232. the family AND THERE WAS DISOBEDIENCE

  233. AND DISGUST in the public life and in

  234. business.

  235. The heart of the people had turned for

  236. the most part away from God. Therefore,

  237. and the therefore for the family and

  238. society followed. Great light had been

  239. given to them, had been given to Israel.

  240. Therefore, GREAT RESPONSIBILITY WAS

  241. REQUIRED of them. And can I say there's

  242. not a nation on the face of the earth

  243. than the last 250 years that God has

  244. blessed more than the nation we're

  245. sitting in tonight.

  246. >> There is not been a place where more

  247. light has come to and gone out of than

  248. the United States of America. I'm

  249. patriotic to the core, buddy. I love our

  250. nation, but I'm heartbroken. Hey, over

  251. the sin AND OVER THE MESS THAT IS IN OUR

  252. land tonight.

  253. >> We can sit and complain till the cows

  254. come home. Matter of fact, that's what a

  255. lot of people did in those prophets

  256. days. They would hear the message AND

  257. THEN THEY WOULD TURN, THEY WOULD sit in

  258. THEIR LITTLE GROUPS AND THEY WOULD TURN

  259. AND SAY, "WELL, things are bad. Things

  260. are horrible AND THINGS ARE AWFUL. WELL,

  261. GUESS WHAT? THAT'S WHERE IT IS

  262. EVERYWHERE. AND LET US SAY TONIGHT, GOD

  263. HELP US. WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE SPITTING

  264. WIDOW CLUBS, HEY, TO FIGURE OUT THE

  265. WORLD'S PROBLEMS. IT IS TIME FOR GOD'S

  266. PEOPLE, HEY, IT'S TIME FOR US TO STEP

  267. BACK BETWEEN THE JUDGMENT OF ALMIGHTY

  268. GOD AND THE SIN OF OUR NATION. AND THE

  269. SIN OF OUR FAMILIES AND THE SIN OF THOSE

  270. WE'RE TRYING TO WIN FOR GOD AND MAKE A

  271. DIFFERENCE in that place.

  272. >> Amen.

  273. >> Ezekiel dealt with the same issues in

  274. his day for he said he said of THE LORD

  275. SAID I SOUGHT for one that would step

  276. into the gap and make up the hedge BUT

  277. HE SAID I FOUND NONE.

  278. >> Can I just remind us? You say, "What in

  279. the world are you dealing with tonight?"

  280. In Isaiah's DAY, HE'S DEALING WITH

  281. RELIGIOUS HYPOCRITES who need major

  282. major help.

  283. >> You're right.

  284. >> And if there's ever been a day of

  285. religious hypocrisy, it is today.

  286. >> Right?

  287. >> But God's wanting to do something.

  288. Aren't you glad for a God that wants to

  289. do something to help? HE WANTS TO STEP

  290. IN. HE WANTS TO INTERCEDE. HE WANTS TO

  291. MAKE a difference in the people's lives.

  292. >> Amen. but is looking for one somebody

  293. >> to step up to the bar. He's looking for

  294. one somebody to stand. I'll never forget

  295. one of my heroes preached a message out

  296. of this and it broke my heart and I'll

  297. never see it the same way again. Oh

  298. friend, GOD WAS LOOKING FOR ONE PERSON

  299. TO PRAY. GOD WAS LOOKING FOR ONE PERSON

  300. TO GET A HOLD OF HEAVEN. GOD WAS LOOKING

  301. GOD WAS WAITING. HAD GOD DESIRED AND

  302. DESIGNED IT FOR US TO APPROACH HIM, BUT

  303. HE FOUND NONE.

  304. Look at verse 16. And he saw that there

  305. was no man and wondered that there was

  306. no

  307. intercessor.

  308. The word for wonder there is not used

  309. like we use it in our day. We wonder

  310. when the Amazon delivery guys going to

  311. show up

  312. >> and leave more of them annoying boxes on

  313. our porch. Amen. We wonder when it's

  314. going to rain again. Or we wonder what

  315. how things are going to go with this or

  316. that. But God is not wondering because

  317. he does not know. You're

  318. >> right.

  319. >> That word wonder right here in the

  320. context. It speaks of amazement. It

  321. speaks of shock. It speaks of

  322. appalation. God is looking down and he's

  323. wondering in the shape of the religious

  324. WORLD IN THE SHAPE OF THE HOME LIFE OF

  325. THE NATION OF ISRAEL IN THE SHAPE OF THE

  326. MESS THAT THEY ARE IN WHY IS NOBODY

  327. STEPPING UP TO PRAY.

  328. >> I would say that today I hope it's not

  329. the case but I wonder in our day and

  330. this is the burden of my heart for

  331. tonight. God settled it in me pretty

  332. well for tonight.

  333. for just a little while. I'd like to

  334. preach on that thought about the Lord

  335. looking down. And I like to call it

  336. this, the amazement of the Almighty.

  337. >> The amazement of the Almighty. You know

  338. why? Because I genuinely believe in our

  339. day, God's looking for somebody that'll

  340. step in and pray. God, the Bible is

  341. filled with intercessors. Those, hey,

  342. that had the SPECIAL PLACE IN THE HEART

  343. OF GOD. HEY, THEY CHOSE THAT WAY. THEY

  344. DESIRED THAT WAY. I think of Moses, that

  345. great man. He was a great man of prayer.

  346. HE WAS A FRIEND TO THE LORD. He re the

  347. reason HE WAS SO GREATLY USED IS HE WAS

  348. A MAN OF intercessory prayer. I think

  349. about those like Abraham who stood there

  350. in between God and Sodom and Gomorrah

  351. and his nephew Lot and their family. and

  352. he stood there with the Lord. In Genesis

    Genesis 18 chapter mention

  353. chapter 18, the Bible said Abraham stood

  354. yet before the Lord and he would not let

  355. God go until he knew

  356. >> that everything was going to be all

  357. right, at least to the best of his

  358. ability. I think about the man of God,

  359. Samuel, who was standing there at the at

  360. that place that we have come to know

  361. called Ebenezer.

  362. And there he stood and there Israel

  363. began to beg him to SACRIFICE AND TO

  364. PRAY TO GOD FOR THEM BECAUSE THE

  365. PHILISTINES HAD COME AGAINST THEM.

  366. >> RIGHT?

  367. >> And oh friend, Samuel prayed. He offered

  368. that sucking lamb and he began to bleed

  369. across that altar and he prayed to God

  370. and God heard and GOD ANSWERED AND GOD

  371. MOVED in a mighty mighty way.

  372. >> Do you know what? I still believe that

  373. God is able.

  374. >> Amen. to hell.

  375. >> I still believe that God's able to save

  376. your lost family members and my lost

  377. FAMILY MEMBERS. I STILL BELIEVE HE can

  378. step in, hey, to a wicked and ungodly

  379. nation LIKE OURS AND SHOW MERCY TO US.

  380. HE'S BEEN SHOWING MERCY AND HE'S BEEN

  381. REAL GOOD. HEY, BUT IT'S TIME FOR US,

  382. HEY, THAT KNOW GOD TO STEP BACK INTO

  383. THAT PLACE AND SEEK HIM AGAIN.

  384. Number one, I got to hurry tonight.

  385. There are the issues of defiance

  386. described.

  387. I don't have time to go through every

  388. verse, but let me say this. It was a day

  389. of popular sin.

  390. >> Can I come down here?

  391. >> All right.

  392. >> I don't want to scare nobody.

  393. >> Sometimes it just helps me think a

  394. little bit. I don't know. It makes

  395. people pay attention, too, because

  396. they're scared I'm gonna come up to

  397. them.

  398. >> Amen.

  399. It was a day of popular sin. You know

  400. what the popular sin of the day was?

  401. Idolatry

  402. to put it pretty flat.

  403. They would build these idols out of wood

  404. and stone and different things. They

  405. would cover it and they'd melt gold down

  406. and brass and silver and all these

  407. things. They'd carve stuff and and

  408. they'd make it look like animals or men

  409. or half men, half animals or whatever.

  410. They'd make all kinds of things. It's

  411. what the people of the land were

  412. involved in,

  413. >> right? It was what the Canaanites were

  414. doing. God said, "You're supposed to."

  415. That's why he wanted them destroy them

  416. so they wouldn't worship like they did.

  417. He didn't want their worship getting

  418. infected with that mess.

  419. >> By the way, we got to keep our worship

  420. pure. Got to keep it right because

  421. worship is the basis of who we are. It's

  422. what we are. It's how we're going to

  423. LIVE OUR LIFE. WORSHIP CONTROLS EVERY

  424. other aspect of our life.

  425. >> God knew that. And that's here. They're

  426. dealing with idolatry. They were dealing

  427. with Molech. They were dealing with

  428. Baal. They were dealing with asteroth.

  429. THEY WERE DEALING WITH THESE HORRID

  430. OTHER S. YOU SAY, "WHAT WAS IT?" IT WAS

  431. AT ITS CORE devil worship.

  432. >> They were evil. Oh, friend. It was so

  433. vile. It was so evil. It was immoral. It

  434. was immodest. IT WAS UNGODLY. OH,

  435. FRIEND, HOW BAD THEY WERE. AND HERE'S

  436. THE THING ABOUT IT. THEY W THEY DIDN'T

  437. JUST QUIT completely and go to idolatry.

  438. Sunday technically their Sunday to

  439. Friday

  440. they were worshiping Baal, Ashroth and

  441. Molech and all them other false gods.

  442. >> Matter of fact, they sacrificing babies.

  443. Yeah,

  444. >> they take that that they take them

  445. little babies,

  446. >> precious little things, and they'd put

  447. them into the hands of that half bull,

  448. half man, and they'd watch them little

  449. babies roll off into a fire.

  450. They'd call it sacrifice and worship to

  451. their false gods. It was wicked. It's

  452. ungodly. And by the way, it's still

  453. wicked and ungodly.

  454. >> Just because they call it Planned

  455. Parenthood doesn't change the sin.

  456. >> Amen.

  457. >> That's exactly right.

  458. But oh friend,

  459. what they would do is they would worship

  460. that way. They would participate in this

  461. pagan mess six days a week, but they

  462. would step into the temple. They would

  463. go to the tabernacle. They would go to

  464. the high. They would still try to

  465. worship Jehovah God. They'd say, "The

  466. temple of the Lord, the temple of the

  467. Lord, the temple of the Lord are these."

  468. They would GO THROUGH THE RIGHTS and the

  469. ceremonies and the rituals. They would

  470. BRING SACRIFICES EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T a

  471. good sacrifice. They were giving their

  472. best to every other thing under the sun

  473. instead of God. They were bringing

  474. injured stuff and LAME STUFF. STUFF THAT

  475. NOBODY STUFF YOU WOULDN'T GIVE A DOG AND

  476. THEY WERE TRYING TO BRING IT TO GIVE TO

  477. THE GOD OF HEAVEN. HEY, THEY WERE LIVING

  478. one way DURING THE WEEK AND THEY WERE

  479. LIVING ANOTHER WAY ON THE LORD'S DAY.

  480. >> And if that doesn't sound familiar, I

  481. don't know what did. That's right.

  482. >> Their popular sin. They wanted to live

  483. any way they want. Oh, and by the way,

  484. their idol worship had all kinds of

  485. wicked music around it. It had all kinds

  486. of WICKED GROTESQUE DISPLAYS OF

  487. IMMORALITY around it. IT WAS FLESHLY. IT

  488. WAS CARNAL. HEY, THAT'S ALL IT WAS WAS A

  489. DISPLAY OF THE FLESH OF OPENING UP DOORS

  490. TO DEMONIC ACTIVITY. IT WAS VILE. IT WAS

  491. WRETCHED. HEY, THERE WERE LIES. THERE

  492. WERE FALSEHOOD. AND GOD LOOKED down

  493. and he got tired

  494. >> of putting up with the hypocrisy of the

  495. day.

  496. >> Right.

  497. >> Because of their hypocrisy in their

  498. worship. You know what it caused?

  499. >> It caused hypocrisy in their jobs.

  500. >> It caused hypocrisy in the homes. It

  501. caused hypocrisy and lies and failure in

  502. every ASPECT OF SOCIETY BECAUSE THEY HAD

  503. FORSAKEN GOD.

  504. >> AMEN.

  505. >> Oh friend, there's the popular sin. Can

  506. I say there's the poor situation?

  507. You know who was paying the price for

  508. the sin of mom and daddy?

  509. >> The next generation.

  510. >> You're right. You know what I'm saying?

  511. When I look around, when I go try to

  512. preach youth stuff different places, you

  513. know who's paying the price for this

  514. generation of hypocrites and this

  515. generation of sin and wicked LIVING ONE

  516. WAY SIX days a week, coming to church on

  517. SUNDAY LIKE EVERYTHING'S ALL RIGHT. HEY,

  518. YOU KNOW WHO'S PAYING THE PRICE? The

  519. next generation is

  520. >> these little babies around here is going

  521. to be the ones paying the price. These

  522. teenagers I preach to every week,

  523. they're going to be the ones, they are

  524. the ones PAYING THE PRICE FOR THE busted

  525. homes and the busted MARRIAGES AND THE

  526. THING DADDY'S ON THIS AND MAMA'S ON THIS

  527. AND THEY'RE GONE LIVING THIS WAY AND

  528. THEY'RE MARKING AND DOING THAT WAY. HEY

  529. FRIEND, WE'RE IN A DAY GOD HELP US LIKE

  530. THAT. AMEN.

  531. >> The issues of defiance described, he

  532. said, "Truth had fallen in the streets."

  533. He said, "Anybody that was trying to do

  534. right was now public enemy number one.

  535. If I've ever seen a day where if you'll

  536. just try to live for God,

  537. >> Yeah. Come on.

  538. >> He'll be cast aside even from some

  539. church folk."

  540. >> You're right.

  541. >> Like you're crazy. I know there are some

  542. crazies in every family, but just living

  543. for God. Oh, friend. Hey, LIVING FOR GOD

  544. USED TO BE THE NORM. AND NOW IT IS NO

  545. LONGER the norm.

  546. >> It is abnormal and everybody treats you

  547. like you're abnormal.

  548. >> The issues of defiance described number

  549. two, I got to hurry. There are, notice

  550. this. There's the intercessor's

  551. departure. Verse 14, and judgment is

  552. turned away backward. Justice standeth a

  553. far off. Truth is fallen in the street,

  554. and equity cannot enter. Yay, truth

  555. faileth, and he that departeth from evil

  556. maketh himself a prey. And the Lord saw

  557. it, and it displeased him that there was

  558. no judgment, and he saw that there was

  559. no man, and wondered that there was no

  560. intercessor. You say, "Well, what in the

  561. world does this intercessor have to do

  562. with anything?" Number one, let me say

  563. this. There's the work described

  564. pictures. The picture in my mind, the

  565. picture as far as scripture goes, the

  566. picture of a judge in a court of law.

  567. You remember when Job said, "Neither is

  568. there any daysman betw twix us that he

  569. might lay his hand upon us both."

  570. >> Do you know what God's LOOKING FOR RIGHT

  571. HERE? YOU KNOW WHAT GOD'S LOOKING FOR

  572. TONIGHT? HE IS LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY

  573. THAT'LL STEP IN BETWEEN HIS HOLINESS AND

  574. HIS WRATH AND THE SINFUL PEOPLE, HEY,

  575. THAT NEED SOMEBODY TO CARE. HE'S LOOKING

  576. FOR ONE SOMEBODY THAT'LL BRING THE TWO

  577. TOGETHER.

  578. >> AMEN.

  579. >> OH, FRIEND. He is looking. It's the

  580. picture. Oh, and I I don't know if

  581. you've ever been in a modern day

  582. courtroom or not. I had the I don't know

  583. if it's a displeasure or not. I had the

  584. duty to sit on a federal case one time

  585. to see the workings of the law, to see

  586. what it looks like when the defendant

  587. steps up to the bar to be handed

  588. judgment.

  589. Oh friend, this work described, it's a

  590. picture of the judge who has his gavl

  591. raised getting ready to SLAM IT DOWN IN

  592. THE final decree.

  593. There's the work described, but there's

  594. the willingness and desire.

  595. We know that God sits with his gavl

  596. ready to drop

  597. >> right

  598. >> AT ANY MOMENT.

  599. >> WE KNOW that what the Bible says about

  600. the sins of our day.

  601. >> Yeah. We know what the Bible says about

  602. the sodomy and about the abortion and

  603. about the mess, the wickedness, the

  604. murder, the drugs, the drunkenness, the

  605. dope, the fornication, adultery, all the

  606. GARBAGE WE'RE SEEING IN OUR DAY. WE KNOW

  607. WHAT GOD SAYS.

  608. But have we gotten so used to it?

  609. >> Yeah.

  610. >> Have we gotten so numb? Have we gotten

  611. so

  612. accustomed to just living life

  613. >> in this day and saying, "Well, it's just

  614. a bad day. Well, it's just a dark day

  615. >> that we have lost our heart of concern.

  616. Does anybody have a desire to step to

  617. between a holy God, a righteous God, and

  618. a poor and hurting people that are

  619. wrapped in their sin?

  620. The work described the willingness and

  621. desire. He is looking for somebody.

  622. He is wandering and he is calling and he

  623. is asking and he is waiting. The Lord

  624. sees the misjudgment. The Lord sees the

  625. mess. THE LORD SEES THAT THERE IS NO

  626. EQUITY. HE SEES THAT TRUTH IS FALLEN IN

  627. THE STREETS.

  628. >> And he waits for one to step up.

  629. >> Can I say there's never been a move of

  630. God in all genuineess in history without

  631. at least one

  632. >> Yes.

  633. >> that was willing

  634. >> to step in that place.

  635. preacher.

  636. >> Oh, friend. Everybody thinks, "Well, the

  637. preacher is the one that puts it in his

  638. pocket and brings it." Oh, no.

  639. >> Come on.

  640. >> I can promise you as great a man of God

  641. as brother Josh is as he's coming in the

  642. end of this week. I can promise you he

  643. doesn't have revival in his pocket.

  644. >> You're right.

  645. >> And I can promise you I didn't. I ain't

  646. got enough room for it in mine.

  647. >> Right.

  648. >> But you know what it takes? It takes

  649. God's people. Right.

  650. >> If my people which are called by my name

  651. shall humble themselves and pray and

  652. seek my face and turn from their wicked

  653. ways, then will I hear from heaven

  654. >> forgive their sin and heal their land.

  655. As the judgment hangs,

  656. as the gavl stands,

  657. God is waiting for somebody.

  658. Most I'll be honest tonight, there's

  659. probably most of us probably would not

  660. even be here had it not been for

  661. somebody doing the same thing for us.

  662. You're

  663. >> right.

  664. >> We had a mama or a daddy. We had a

  665. grandma, a grandpa, an uncle or an aunt.

  666. SOMEBODY THAT GOT BETWEEN US AND HELL.

  667. SOMEBODY THAT GOT BETWEEN US AND

  668. JUDGMENT. SOMEBODY DID IT FOR ME. HEY,

  669. SOMEBODY DID IT FOR YOU. HEY, YOU

  670. PRODICAL THAT HAVE COME HOME. HEY, YOU

  671. KNOW WHAT IT IS FOR SOMEBODY TO BE OUT

  672. IN THE BARN WHERE GOD IS BEGGING THE

  673. LORD TO bring you HOME AGAIN. AND YOU

  674. WOULDN'T BE HERE HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR

  675. SOMEBODY STEPPING UP. I WOULDN'T BE HERE

  676. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THOSE INTERCESSORS

  677. IN MY LIFE. HEY, THEY'VE MADE THE

  678. DIFFERENCE. IT'S TIME FOR YOU AND ME TO

  679. MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

  680. YES.

  681. >> Somebody come to the piano for me,

  682. please, while I'm finishing this up.

  683. They'll think I'm quitting and they'll

  684. be excited.

  685. >> Come on, brother.

  686. >> The work described the willingness and

  687. desire.

  688. Somebody

  689. have a desire.

  690. There's the wonder of a departing deity.

  691. And the Lord saw it.

  692. This displeased him that there was no

  693. judgment.

  694. He saw that there was no man

  695. and wondered that there was no

  696. intercessor.

  697. God in astonishment

  698. and all in appolation and in shock.

  699. I believe it hurts the heart of God.

  700. >> Amen.

  701. >> That no man will step up.

  702. >> Right.

  703. >> It was a dark day. It was a hard day. It

  704. was a bad day.

  705. But Isaiah saying from the heart of God,

  706. somebody's got to do it.

  707. >> Right,

  708. >> church? I'm asking you tonight. I'm

  709. begging you tonight. Somebody's got to

  710. do it.

  711. >> For this generation, for this church,

  712. for this pastor and his family, hey, for

  713. this generation of young people,

  714. somebody's got to do it.

  715. >> Right.

  716. >> Thirdly, and lastly, and we're done.

  717. Let's stand across the building. I'll

  718. give you this thought. Go ahead, sis.

  719. Whenever you're ready.

  720. Nobody looking around. This altar is

  721. open.

  722. There's the internal decision.

  723. Therefore, his arm brought salvation

  724. unto him, and his righteousness it

  725. sustained him. For put on righteousness

  726. as a breastplate, and a helmet of

  727. salvation upon his head, and he put on

  728. the garments of vengeance for clothing,

  729. and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

  730. There's a beautiful picture of Christ,

  731. the great strong arm of our God,

  732. the one who is able, the one who does

  733. care when nobody else cares.

  734. You say, "Well, if the Lord was going to

  735. see on the Lord, if the Lord was

  736. prophesying about, then why in the world

  737. does he need us?" Oh, friend,

  738. he wants us.

  739. He desires for us to make a difference.

  740. Before you make a difference in witness

  741. and song and preaching and service of

  742. any kind, you're going to make a

  743. difference in prayer.

  744. You'll never be in your service what you

  745. are not in prayer.

  746. There's the power of the coming one. I'm

  747. glad God's able. There's the person of

  748. courage.

  749. Abraham stood.

  750. Moses stood. Samuel stood, David stood,

  751. Job stood at the altar every morning and

  752. he said, "It may be that my children

  753. have sinned in their heart."

  754. Daniel prayed in that pagan land and beg

  755. God to bring them back home.

  756. All of these stood in the gap

  757. for somebody else. Remember what Jesus

  758. said to Peter?

  759. But I have prayed for thee

  760. that the faith fail not. When thou art

  761. converted, strengthen the brethren.

  762. Oh, what a great thought.

  763. Take your feeble efforts. You say, "My

  764. prayers aren't big enough. I'm not a

  765. mighty prayer warrior."

  766. That's the trick. That's that's the

  767. secret.

  768. Nobody really is. but they've just got a

  769. big God that they're learning to to

  770. depend on.

  771. There may be people you're praying for

  772. right now you never thought you'd have

  773. to pray for.

  774. There may be situations you're having to

  775. pray through right now you never thought

  776. you'd have to pray through.

  777. Keep at it.

  778. Oh, keep at it.

  779. God's able. He's a big God. He's a good

  780. God.

  781. And he wants us to draw nigh. He wants

  782. us to get close.

  783. Folks are still praying. People doing

  784. business with the Lord tonight.

  785. You mind God?

  786. These altars are open this evening.

  787. You got plenty of time tonight.

  788. Maybe you went back to se to your seat

  789. and realize you maybe didn't pray about

  790. something you should have. Maybe didn't

  791. pray long enough. We got time.

  792. Truth is about all of our lives, we've

  793. been through things that we never

  794. thought we'd have to go through.

  795. Prayed for people. He said something

  796. there in that imitation, praying for

  797. situations you never thought you'd have

  798. to pray for.

  799. Every one of us has got an own

  800. particular trial that we're facing.

  801. You said, "Preacher, I'm burdened.

  802. Preacher, I'm burdened. I I prayed and I

  803. don't feel like I'm getting an answer or

  804. I'm getting an answer, but I don't feel

  805. like it's the answer that I want.

  806. Don't feel like God's telling me what I

  807. want to hear." Preacher, would you pray

  808. for me?

  809. There's nobody looking around but me.

  810. God sees that.

  811. God sees those hands.

  812. Lord spoke to my heart through that

  813. message tonight. You know, your prayers

  814. might be the difference between

  815. somebody's

  816. life being preserved.

  817. I tell you this, my heart broke while he

  818. was preaching cuz I thought to myself,

  819. wonder how many people

  820. that I've failed to pray for as much as

  821. I should have.

  822. >> Their life's in shambles now.

  823. Oh God, help us.

  824. These altars are still open.

  825. Some still praying.

  826. If it was left up to your prayer life to

  827. make a difference,

  828. would it make a difference?

  829. >> What would this church be if everybody

  830. prayed the way that you do for it?

  831. We think many times

  832. those verses Bible says where sin

  833. abounds grace much more abounds. And the

  834. thing about it is that's true in every

  835. situation.

  836. But I think the saddest thing

  837. about where sin abounds, grace does

  838. always much more abound. But the faucet

  839. that turns the grace on is prayer.

  840. >> Right?

  841. >> And though there's grace in abundance,

  842. so many times we'll let sin overtake

  843. because we refuse to pray.

  844. Father,

  845. Lord, thank you for challenging my heart

  846. tonight.

  847. Thank you for the man of God being

  848. obedient.

  849. And Lord, I pray every heart in this

  850. place was obedient to the word of God

  851. that was shared tonight.

  852. Lord, our church, our country, Lord,

  853. each individual Christian in this place,

  854. we need you,

  855. God. We need your help, Father. And we

  856. pray that you would have grace and

  857. mercy, Lord. Help us to be that

  858. intercessor that we're called to be. To

  859. stand in the gap, to make up the hedge,

  860. Lord, to be the one that rings the bells

  861. of heaven

  862. or with our prayers each and every day.

  863. Give us ferveny and urgency in these

  864. days, Lord, of apostasy

  865. to pray and to pray more

  866. to pray more earnestly.

  867. And Lord, I pray for the remainder of

  868. this meeting, God, you would help us. We

  869. ask it all in Jesus name.

  870. Amen.

  871. >> Thank you for joining our service today.
