-

-
Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from
-
God.
-
And the truth is, if we really ever got
-
a hold of what she just sang,
-
if we really just grasp that that he is,
-
he's it.
-
>> You don't need nothing else.
-
>> You don't need nobody else. You don't
-
need nothing else.
-
>> He's all you need.
-
And uh
-
I think until we get to that point, I
-
think we're we're still not going to see
-
revival until we get to the place where
-
we say, "Lord, I don't know what else is
-
going I don't know what's going to
-
happen. I don't care. I don't know what
-
it's going to cost me. I don't care. I
-
don't know where it's going to take me,
-
but I don't care, Lord. I just want
-
you."
-
>> You get to that place, you'll have
-
revival.
-
>> Amen.
-
Amen. Well,
-
it's good to have brother Austin Elkins
-
back with us tonight. And uh I
-
appreciate this man of God. I really do.
-
>> And God has used him uh in my life. He's
-
been a been a help. And uh more than he
-
realizes. His his pullpit ministry has
-
been such an encouragement to me. And u
-
I guess probably about the age I am now
-
was how old you was when I first started
-
preaching. I guess so. somewhere around
-
there. And he's always stayed the same,
-
preaches the same, and God uses him. And
-
uh he just goes preaching uh wherever
-
God lets him. And I thank him. Thank
-
thank the Lord for using him and the
-
open door that he has. And I appreciate
-
him minding the Lord these last two
-
nights. And preacher, you come preach
-
what's on your heart. And let's get
-
behind it. May help him preach. And I
-
know he's got what's on the heart of God
-
for this service tonight. So you pray
-
for him, worship with him.
-
>> Amen. Love you, preacher. I appreciate.
-
>> Yes, sir. Amen. Well, I'm glad I'm
-
saved. Amen. I'm glad to be in church on
-
this Wednesday night. And I can say
-
already, it's been good to be here. And
-
I'll be honest, I can sit and listen to
-
singing like that, listen, testifying
-
all night. That stuff don't bother me. I
-
grew up around stuff like that. And I'm
-
thankful for God's goodness and his
-
mercy and for his amazing grace. The
-
book of Nehemiah tonight. The book of
-
Nehemiah, chapter number four. Nehemiah
-
chapter number four. When you find your
-
place, we'll invite you to stand with us
-
as we'll read and pray together and give
-
you the thought uh that is in our heart
-
for tonight. Nehemiah chapter number
-
four. And we'll give you this thought.
-
And uh you know, we'll be timely and
-
trying to get it to you. And this has
-
been on our heart since about the time
-
we left yesterday. Started trying to
-
pray towards tonight and have direction.
-
I I was looking I was hoping to get do a
-
series this week. Uh, but it seems like
-
the Lord's just orchestrated everything
-
the way he's wanted it. And I'm not
-
going to complain about his leadership
-
one bit. I'm thankful uh for his
-
goodness and his mercy and for his grace
-
and uh for all that he's done. Church, I
-
want to say thank you for the room.
-
Thank you for all the meals, the
-
fellowship. Uh it's always always a
-
precious thing to be around you. I love
-
getting to be with you y'all. Some of
-
the friendliest people I've met. And I
-
mean, man, he made me a a tumbler with
-
Tennessee on it. I know it pained him
-
greatly to do it, but he did it. And I
-
praise the Lord for that. And uh I mean
-
all the kindnesses and all the all the
-
blessings, all the giving, all the
-
things y'all done just to make us feel
-
welcome. And since this is my life, I
-
sure do appreciate places that feel like
-
home. And I appreciate that uh much the
-
Lord. Let's read together tonight
-
Nehemiah chapter number four. And we'll
-
start our reading in verse number one
-
tonight. The Bible said, "But it came to
-
pass that when Sand Ballot heard that we
-
builded the wall, he was wroth and took
-
great indignation and mocked the Jews,
-
and he spake before his brethren and the
-
army of Samaria, and said, "What do
-
these feeble Jews? Will they fortify
-
themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will
-
they make an end in a day? Will they
-
revive the stones out of the heaps of
-
the rubbish which are burned?" Now thai
-
the Ammonite was by him and said even
-
that which they build if a fox go up he
-
SHALL EVEN BREAK DOWN THEIR STONE wall
-
here oh our God for we are despised and
-
turn their reproach on their own head
-
and give them for a prey in the land of
-
captivity and cover not their iniquity.
-
Let not their sin be blotted out before
-
thee for they have provoked thee to
-
anger before the builders. NOTICE VERSE
-
NUMBER SIX. SO built we the wall, and
-
all the wall was joined together unto
-
the half thereof, for the people had a
-
mind to work. Now if you will skip to
-
verse number 10, the Bible said, and
-
Judas said, the strength of the bears of
-
burdens is decayed, and there is much
-
rubbish so that we are not able to build
-
the wall. And our adversary said, "They
-
shall not know, neither see do we come
-
in the midst among them, and slay them,
-
and cause the word to cease." Skip over,
-
if you will, now to verse number 14.
-
"And I looked and rose UP AND SAID UNTO
-
THE NOBLES, and to the rulersh, and to
-
the rest of the people, be not ye afraid
-
of them. Remember the Lord which is
-
great and terrible uh and fight for your
-
brethren, your sons, and your daughters,
-
your wives, and your houses. And it came
-
to pass when our enemies heard that it
-
was known UNTO US. AND GOD HAD BROUGHT
-
THEIR COUNSEL TO NOT that we returned
-
all of us to the wall, everyone unto
-
his work. Let's pause and ask God's help
-
again tonight. Father, in Jesus lovely
-
name. Thank you so much for YOUR
-
GOODNESS AND YOUR MERCY in your amazing
-
grace. Thank you for what you've done
-
already these couple of nightsh in this
-
meeting so far and for working in the
-
hearts of your people and in the hearts
-
and saving sinners. God, I pray for a
-
little while that you'd MAKE PREACHING
-
EASY. GOD, THAT you'd help us to focus
-
our HEARTS ON YOU. GOD THAT you'd give
-
ALL THE PRAISE AND THE honor and the
-
glory safe sinners. Help us, oh Lord, as
-
your people to continue on until you
-
come again. And we'll thank you and
-
praise you for it's in that name above
-
every name, Jesus Christ, THAT WE ASK
-
WITH MUCH THANKSGIVING AND FOR YOUR
-
GLORY. AMEN. And amen. You can be seated
-
tonight. Thank you for standing as we've
-
read and prayed together. Again,
-
this is a very familiar book and it is
-
one of my favorite books of the Bible.
-
Uh, as we come to this book of Nehemiah,
-
I know most people have heard it taught
-
on, preached through, and dealt with,
-
and I'm not going to tell you anything
-
that you've not heard before, but listen
-
tonight. I believe as we come to chapter
-
number four uh that God is doing a great
-
and mighty thing through his servant
-
Nehemiah. And you remember back in
-
chapter NUMBER ONE THAT GOD I believe
-
HAD RAISED HIM UP FOR THAT SPECIFIC TASK
-
and that specific time. And let me say
-
this, I believe the church of the living
-
God has been brought to this place and
-
this time, hey, so we can fulfill the
-
will of God and accomplish exactly what
-
he wants us to accomplish. You remember
-
chapter number one, hey, Nehemiah hears
-
about the destruction of Jerusalem. He
-
hears about the walls that have been
-
torn down. He hears about the gates that
-
have been burned with fire. And what it
-
does is it he does not harden his heart
-
but it breaks his heart and he melts
-
into a season of prayer. And as HE
-
BEGINS TO PRAY, God begins TO WORK NOT
-
ONLY IN his heart but on THE KING'S
-
HEART AND ON OTHER HEARTS BEFORE he ever
-
gets back to Jerusalem. And God directs
-
him with a burden. And I want to say
-
this before I move ON TONIGHT THAT IF
-
WE'RE EVER going to accomplish anything
-
for God, in reality, we are going to
-
have to be guided and directed by A
-
GENUINE heaven sentent burden from God.
-
Oh friend, our our own acts and our own
-
self will never do the trick. It must be
-
that God gets the glory and gives the
-
burden to guide us in the right way.
-
There are not only in chapter one, God
-
begins to direct him with the burden,
-
but in chapter number two, God begins to
-
let the burden spread. For when he gets
-
back to Jerusalem, he begins to look
-
around. He's observing. He's figuring
-
things out. And then God begins to
-
assemble people around him that say,
-
"Hey, let us rise up and build." Can I
-
just remind you as way of introduction
-
tonight that oh that Nehemiah could not
-
DO IT ALL ON HIS OWN. THOUGH HE WAS THE
-
SPEARHEAD, though he had the first
-
burden, though he got things going, OH
-
FRIEND, IT COULD NOT be born alone on
-
his shoulders. It took everybody in the
-
family of God. It took everybody in that
-
area that day to be able to get that
-
great job accomplished.
-
God directs him with a specific burden.
-
God lets the burden spread. Chapter
-
three, God begins to bless their
-
efforts. And they began, hey, where
-
every great where every Christian must
-
begin at the sheep gate. And when they
-
get that foundation right, and when they
-
began to build from the sheep gate on,
-
hey, that is how God begins to set
-
things in order. And I'll tell you, if
-
we're ever going to see GOD DO MUCH, WE
-
BETTER get back TO BLOODY CALVARY. AND
-
WE BETTER REALIZE it was he that bled
-
and died for us, he's the one that
-
opened THE LIFEGATE THAT ALL MAY GO IN.
-
AND THAT is where we start our work for
-
God.
-
>> Ever since the first effort was made,
-
you know this in chapter number two all
-
the way until they are completely
-
finished. The enemy begins with a
-
malicious attack on the work of God and
-
the PEOPLE OF GOD. CAN I JUST THROW
-
THIS? Y'all know this is true. That's
-
Wednesday night crowd. But listen to me.
-
We are in a day if we are going to do
-
anything FOR GOD, THERE'S GOING TO be an
-
attack. THERE'S GOING TO BE UPHEAVAL,
-
HEY, THERE'S GOING TO be some things,
-
hey, that the enemy is trying to throw
-
at us. Let me say this tonight though,
-
EVEN THOUGH THE ENEMY IS TRYING TO STOP
-
THE WORK, THERE ARE WALLS that need to
-
be rebuilt in our day. There needs to be
-
WALLS OF DOCTRINE. THERE NEEDS TO BE
-
WALLS of discipline. There needs to be
-
WALLS OF DIRECTION. OH FRIEND, LIKE THE
-
SONGWRITER SAID, there need to BE WALLS
-
OF PRAYER. THERE NEED TO BE WALLS OF
-
POWER. THERE NEED TO BE WALLS of
-
protection. HEY FRIEND, THERE NEEDS TO
-
BE WALLS OF THE WORD. THERE NEEDS TO BE
-
WALLS OF WORSHIP AND WALLS of
-
well-being. You say, "WHAT IN THE
-
WORLD?" HEY, CAN YOU NOT LOOK around and
-
realize the need for the wall tonight?
-
>> Oh, friend, our churches, our homes, our
-
families, our our ministries across this
-
generation, they're crumbling. They're
-
falling apart. And we HAVE NEVER SEEN A
-
MORE NECESSARY DAY FOR SPIRITUAL WALLS
-
TO BE BUILT around each one.
-
Paul friend, let me say as we look in
-
these verses, the enemy tried everything
-
they could to cause the word to cease.
-
But even though they did, by the grace
-
of God and some divine determination,
-
divine direction, and divine
-
discernment, Nehemiah says, "WE ARE NOT
-
STOPPING for anything." Amen.
-
>> Aren't you glad for some people that
-
have not quit, that have not given up,
-
that have not stopped in the great work?
-
Hey, they had, listen now, THEY HAD
-
MISERABLE MOCKERS, BUT THEY HAD A MIND
-
TO WORK. THEY HAD THREATS AND THEY HAD
-
ANGER, BUT THEY HAD THE THRILL OF THE
-
ALMIGHTY. THEY HAD MARCHING ARMIES, BUT
-
THEY MADE MORE EFFORT IN PRAYER. AND GOD
-
SAW TO IT THAT IN RECORD TIME IN 52 DAYS
-
THEY GOT THE JOB DONE AND GOD GOT THE
-
GLORY AND A GENERATION SAW GOD.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> You know what I love about this is it's
-
not just about their generation. It's
-
about the next generation and the
-
generation after that. I'm just telling
-
you tonight I sure want to see God hey
-
move in the next generation if he don't
-
come back real soon. And I believe he
-
is. Hey. But I say this, HEY, WE NEED TO
-
HAVE SOME WALLS SO GOD CAN WORK
-
TOMORROW.
-
As I think about this, let me just say,
-
oh,
-
Amen. As I think about these walls going
-
up, as I think about THE GREAT WORK THAT
-
HAD and needed to be accomplished, I'm
-
reminded that IF THEY DID NOT do it,
-
nobody else was going to.
-
Somebody had to step up. Somebody had to
-
be the one to have the burden and go
-
forward.
-
But just because they faced obstacles,
-
just because things were not easy, just
-
because things were not, hey, the way by
-
the way, serving God rarely is easy. But
-
I will say this, it is always worth the
-
effort put in.
-
>> I'm interested tonight as we think about
-
this. You notice in verse number n and
-
verse number six he said the for the
-
people had a mind to work. Verse number
-
nine. Nevertheless, we made our prayer
-
unto our God and set a watch against
-
them by day and night BECAUSE OF THEM.
-
HEY, THEY CONTINUED ON. They did not
-
stop. Hey, verse number 15. HEY, GOD
-
BROUGHT THEIR COUNSEL TO NOT THAT WE
-
RETURNED all of us to the wall, everyone
-
unto his work. Let me just for a little
-
while tonight, I'd like to preach ON
-
THIS SIMPLE THOUGHT ON THE work must GO
-
ON. THE WORK MUST go on. Oh, friend,
-
aren't you glad that THE WORK WAS
-
STARTED BEFORE WE EVER GOT HERE? AREN'T
-
YOU GLAD THAT THERE'S ALWAYS BEEN A GOD
-
IN HEAVEN THAT'S had everything running
-
in THE RIGHT DIRECTION? HEY, THANK GOD I
-
DIDN'T START IT AND I CANNOT STOP IT.
-
I'M JUST TRYING TO GET IN AND HANG ON.
-
HEY, THANK GOD. THERE'S A WORK TO BE
-
DONE.
-
>> Number one, we must realize the reproach
-
of the adversary tonight.
-
Notice the mocking of their efforts.
-
Verse number two, he spake before his
-
bre. Matter of fact, verse number one,
-
it came to pass that when Sam Ballot
-
heard that we builded the wall, he was
-
wroth and took great indignation and
-
mocked the Jews. And he spake before his
-
brethren, the army of Samaria, and said,
-
"What do these feeble Jews? Will they
-
fortify themselves? Will they sacrifice?
-
Will they make an end in a day? Will
-
they revive the stones out of the heaps
-
of the rubbish which are burned?" You
-
say, "What happened?" The very first
-
thing is the enemy begins TO RUN THEIR
-
MOUTH.
-
>> Can I just remind you tonight? I know
-
y'all know this, but that's just
-
spiritual warfare.
-
Every time before there's ever a sword
-
drawn,
-
before there's ever an issue of any kind
-
of warfare, before there's HEY, THEY
-
WEREN'T THEY HADN'T gathered armies yet.
-
They said they were going to. Hey, here
-
they are. And they're getting ready to
-
fight. They're getting ready FOR
-
SOMETHING. AND NOW THE ENEMY BEGINS TO
-
REPROACH AND TO MOCK THEM.
-
>> Do you remember? Do you? Oh, y'all know
-
this already. But it's amazing to me how
-
quick the enemy is to open his mouth. Oh
-
yes.
-
>> When you going to try to serve, when you
-
going to try to do, when you going to
-
try to sell out and go for God and live
-
for God and REBUILD SOME WALLS, THERE
-
WILL BE WORDS from the enemy.
-
>> There's wrath encountered. You know why
-
they're encountering the wrath of the
-
enemy? Because they are trying to do
-
something in the opposite direction.
-
Anytime you try to do something in the
-
opposite direction of the enemy, the
-
forces of hell and Satan, there will be
-
opposition
-
and there will be words of evil. From
-
from chapter number two, they have been
-
matter of fact, it's the Ammonites. It's
-
those there's a three-fold enemy that
-
you'll find a picture of the world, the
-
flesh, and the devil. It's a wicked
-
enterprise. THEY BEGAN, HEY, TO TRY TO
-
GET IN THE mind of those that are trying
-
to do something for God.
-
>> Can I remind you this week, it is
-
Wednesday night. Y'all still got two
-
more nights of revival efforts coming up
-
before you. The enemy would love to say,
-
"Well, there's no sense in trying to
-
fool with anything else. Hey, there's
-
we've already seen this or seen that."
-
OH, FRIEND. OH, GOD, help us to
-
remember. HEY, THERE IS SOME REASON TO
-
CONTINUE ON. THERE ARE THOSE DEPENDING
-
ON US AND THE REPROACH OF THE ADVERSARY
-
must be ignored.
-
The mocking of their efforts. Notice
-
this. There is the ministry of effectual
-
prayer. Look at verse four.
-
He said, "Here, oh our God, for we are
-
despised.
-
turn their reproach upon their own head,
-
and give them for a prey in the land of
-
captivity. Cover not their iniquity. Let
-
not their sin be blotted out before
-
thee, for they have provoked thee to
-
anger before the builders.
-
Yes, there was the mocking of their
-
efforts. But there was the ministry of
-
effectual prayer. You know what GOD DID?
-
AS SOON AS THEY STARTED FACING ATTACK
-
from the enemy, you know what they did?
-
They said, "We're going to pray, boys."
-
And they geared down and THEY GATHERED
-
UP AND THEY GOT UP UNDERNEATH one
-
another and they SAID, "WE'RE GOING FOR
-
GOD." HEY, GOD, LOOK ON the enemy.
-
Listen to what they're saying. Hey, they
-
directed THEIR ATTENTION TO THE GOD OF
-
HEAVEN AND THEY DESIRED HIM TO AVENGE
-
them of their enemies.
-
Oh friend, you know what? Our most of
-
the time our last response is to look to
-
God.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> But it is time for it to become our
-
first response.
-
>> It is time for it to become our
-
preparation. It is time for it to become
-
our every step. It is time FOR FOR
-
PRAYER TO BECOME THE THING WE DEPEND ON
-
AND we need in our day. Yes, sir.
-
>> The mocking of their efforts, the
-
ministry of effectual prayer. There's
-
the mind of the essential labor.
-
Verse number four, actually verse six.
-
So built we the wall, and all the wall
-
was joined together under the half
-
thereof, for the people had a mind to
-
work.
-
I love this. You know what they did?
-
Their key to success was simply this. It
-
was their unity.
-
I'm going to come down here again.
-
That way they'll listen.
-
>> You know what they had?
-
They had unity.
-
>> In order for the work to be done,
-
it wasn't just that they got along,
-
but they had to have a united vision and
-
a united direction.
-
They had to have united efforts.
-
There's a lot of places I go in and they
-
don't have much unity.
-
It's sad. Remember what the Apostle Paul
-
wrote? He said, "Endeavoring to keep the
-
unity of the spirit in the bonds of
-
peace.
-
>> It takes effort to stay unified. It
-
takes effort to keep your eyes on Jesus
-
and off of everybody and everything
-
else." Hey friend, forbearing one
-
another in love. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT
-
MEANS? IT MEANS BECAUSE I LOVE YOU IN
-
the Lord AND I LOVE JESUS, I'M GOING TO
-
PUT UP WITH YOU AND I'M GOING TO FORGIVE
-
YOU. AND IF YOU LOVE JESUS, YOU GOING TO
-
FORGIVE ME. AND WE GOING TO HOOK UP AND
-
GO ON FOR JESUS AND TRY TO BUILD
-
SOMETHING FOR GOD AND HAVE SOMETHING
-
THAT will last.
-
>> Their key to success was unity. It was
-
faithfulness. I know it's Wednesday
-
night and I ain't going to beat that
-
drum too hard, but let me just remind
-
you again, faithfulness still matters
-
>> to God. One of these days when we stand
-
before him at the bema seat it will not
-
be well done thou grand and glorious
-
servant. It will not be well done thou
-
fabulous and flamboyant servant. It will
-
not be hey you WERE GREAT AND SUCCESSFUL
-
BUT IT WILL BE THOU GOOD and faithful
-
servant.
-
If there's ever been a day for a revival
-
of faithfulness, just oldfashioned
-
>> Holy Ghost Christian faithfulness,
-
>> it is today.
-
>> There's the keys to success, their
-
unity, their faithfulness, the direction
-
they had. They were going in God's
-
direction. They were trying to do
-
something that would protect the house
-
of God. Do you realize that?
-
years prior, the Lord had allowed the
-
house of God to be built. And now they
-
needed something to be rebuilt. Now they
-
needed something to protect the house of
-
God. You know why? Because where would
-
they have to worship if they did not
-
protect the house of God?
-
>> Oh yeah.
-
Where would they live in safety if they
-
did not have those walls? Where would
-
they be able to enjoy the upbringing of
-
for the next generation had somebody not
-
done something about it? There's the
-
reproach of the adversary. Number two,
-
I'm moving on. There's the
-
responsibility
-
to arm the people. Look in verse 10.
-
Judah said, "The strength of the bears
-
of burdens is decayed. There's much
-
rubbish so that we're not able to build
-
the wall. And our adversary said, "They
-
shall not know, neither see, till we
-
come in the midst among them, and slay
-
them, and cause the work to cease." And
-
it came to pass when the Jews which
-
dwelt by them came, they said unto us 10
-
times, from all places, when she shall
-
return unto us, they will all be upon
-
you. Therefore said I in the lower
-
places, behind the wall, on the higher
-
places. I even set the people after
-
their families, with their swords, their
-
spears, and their bows. And I looked and
-
rose up and said unto the nobles, we'll
-
pause there for just a minute. BUT THERE
-
IS NOT ONLY THE REPROACH of the
-
adversary, but there is the
-
responsibility
-
to arm the people. You say, "What do you
-
mean?" Hey, as soon as they began, as
-
soon as they prayed, they began to go
-
back to the work. And now there is a
-
wrathful plan of the enemy. Our enemy
-
hates the REVIVING WORK OF GOD with an
-
evil and hatred and a passion IN HIS
-
HEART. HEY, AND IT'S TIME FOR US TO
-
REALIZE WE'RE NOT JUST GOING TO SKIP ON
-
THROUGH THE TULIPS. HEY FRIEND, THERE IS
-
A BATTLE AND THE ENEMY has a plan.
-
>> But you know what they did? As soon as
-
that wrathful plan was realized, they
-
took one more time to watching and
-
praying.
-
You know what I'm learning, brother
-
Charlie? People don't get excited about
-
prayer much.
-
They don't.
-
Oh, yeah.
-
You know why? Cuz I ain't doing it.
-
>> Amen. People don't have a personal
-
prayer life.
-
>> Amen. I know some people do,
-
>> but I'm learning as I go. You know why?
-
You know what? I've sat and listen, Miss
-
Sister Betty. I've listened to some
-
generations gone by and I've heard about
-
the preachers of days gone by, those
-
older men of God that mentored me and
-
and you and tried to help us come up and
-
they they talked about the prayer life
-
of the people of God. It wasn't just the
-
preacher. It wasn't just the s the song
-
leader. It wasn't just the deacons or
-
the Sunday school teacher, but it was
-
mamas and daddies. Hey, it was those
-
that were laboring, THOSE THAT SHOWED UP
-
TO CHURCH, they invested themselves in
-
prayer.
-
>> If you want your life to be a success,
-
you want your church to be a success for
-
God, you want your witness to be a
-
success, GET YOURSELF IN A PRAYER PLACE
-
SOMEWHERE, YOU AND GOD, AND WALK WITH
-
GOD IN PRAYER. AND WHEN THE ENEMY
-
ASSAILS, HEY, WHEN THE VOICE OF THE
-
ENEMY COMES THUNDERING IN, HEY, RUN TO
-
THE SECRET PLACE AND GET WHERE GOD IS
-
AND HE WILL HELP YOU.
-
>> Oh friend,
-
they continued
-
in watching and prayer. There's
-
weariness in the progress.
-
Verse 10. Judah said, "The strength of
-
the bears of burdens is decayed.
-
There is much rubbish
-
so that we are not able to build the
-
wall."
-
They're worn out. They're tired. And
-
they have nothing left to give.
-
But the work cannot cease, and the work
-
cannot stop.
-
For there are several thousands
-
depending on this work. Can I remind you
-
tonight, our work is not just about us.
-
Our labor for the Lord is not about our
-
life. It is about those that are coming
-
behind us. There's the reproach of the
-
adversary, the responsibility to arm the
-
people. Thirdly, and lastly, there is
-
the Almighty's plan, the returning to
-
the Almighty's plan. Verse number 14.
-
And I looked and rose up, said unto the
-
nobles, and to the rulers, and to the
-
rest of the people, "Be not ye afraid of
-
them. Remember the Lord, which is great
-
and terrible, and fight for your
-
brethren, your sons, and your daughters,
-
your wives, and your houses." And it
-
came to pass when our enemies heard that
-
it was known unto us, and God had
-
brought THEIR COUNSEL TO NOT THAT WE
-
RETURNED ALL OF US TO THE WALL, everyone
-
unto his work.
-
You say, "How did Can I get somebody to
-
come to the piano for me?" Go ahead and
-
be making your way on this direction and
-
they'll think I'm quitting and they'll
-
be happy.
-
Amen.
-
They began to remember the Lord. Look at
-
verse 14. Remember the Lord
-
which is great and terrible and fight
-
for your brethren.
-
Now they are looking. They are turning
-
their eyes one more time upon Jesus.
-
You know what it's time for us to do
-
tonight? It is time for us to remember
-
our great God
-
>> so that we may be everything he wants us
-
to be.
-
There's the resolution to labor.
-
Verse 15. It came to pass when our
-
enemies heard that it was known unto us.
-
And God had brought their counsel or not
-
that we returned all of us to the wall,
-
everyone
-
unto his work.
-
The remembering of the Lord. There's the
-
resolution to labor. Now they have not
-
only continued in the face of all this
-
opposition,
-
but they're going back to finish what
-
they started. Church, it's time for us
-
to finish what was started. He that hath
-
begun a good work in you, he shall
-
perform it under the day of Jesus
-
Christ, and he will do exactly what he
-
said. Let us continue on to be faithful
-
to him. And there's the revival of
-
longevity. He through the rest of the
-
chapter says, "Whenever you're ready,
-
just start playing."
-
There's a time to guard and a time to
-
build. He said, "You take the trial in
-
your hand and you take your sword in the
-
other hand." That's the balance of the
-
Christian life. You're to build and
-
you're to guard,
-
to fight, and to finish the job that God
-
has for us to do.
-
Christian, it is not time to back up. It
-
is not time to quit.
-
>> The work must go on. There is no place
-
for compromise. There is no time to come
-
off the wall. The work must go on.
-
There's no time to go to the plane of oh
-
no like is offered in chapter six.
-
There's no time to listen to the lies of
-
the adversary.
-
>> For there must be something finished.
-
And when it is done one of these days
-
and we look back, there'll be some that
-
we did not even know we were building
-
for. Could you imagine that generation,
-
brother Charlie? They built and they
-
labored and they SWEATED AND THEY GOT IN
-
the trenches and they dug and they built
-
and they had no idea
-
hundreds of years down the road they
-
turn around and there were some
-
generations they had a temple TO WORSHIP
-
IN. THEY HAD A PLACE TO GO MEET GOD.
-
HEY, THEY HAD FAMILIES AND THEY HAD
-
PROTECTION AND THEY HAD the goodness of
-
the Lord all around them. HEY, BECAUSE
-
YEARS AGO, HEY, THERE WAS A MAN OF GOD
-
THAT STOOD UP AND SAID, "LET'S BUILD."
-
AND THE PEOPLE SAID, "LET'S BUILD." AND
-
THEY BUILT IT.
-
>> And in 52 days, they did the impossible.
-
>> I tell you what, let's do tonight while
-
she's a play. Brother Charlie, Miss
-
Abby, get your young ones come this way.
-
I want them to get in this altar
-
tonight. I've had this on my heart for a
-
while this week. I just I don't know.
-
Oh, I just in prayer. I felt impressed.
-
Church folk, I want y'all to gather
-
around them. Fellas, get over here on
-
Brother Charlie's side. Ladies, get over
-
here near her. If there's ever been a
-
time to pray, if there's ever been a
-
time to seek God,
-
man, it's right now.
-
If there's ever been a time to dig your
-
heels in and do something for the Lord,
-
to pray a hedge about your pastor and
-
his family, it's now.
-
I want to see y'all succeed for God so
-
bad it ain't even funny.
-
I want to see God bless. I want to see
-
God work. I want to see God do. I want
-
to see God blow your mind.
-
Let's pray together tonight. All right.
-
Father in Jesus name, thank you for your
-
love, your mercy, and your goodness, and
-
your grace. Thank you for the people of
-
God. Thank you for this dear man of God
-
and his family. God, I beg you, Father,
-
in Jesus name that you'd put your touch
-
on them, God, that you'd fill them, God,
-
that you'd help them, that you'd
-
strengthen them, God, that you'd put
-
that hedge, that guard about their home,
-
their the guard about their minds, the
-
guard about the direction for the
-
future. God, you'd bless them in a
-
mighty way. God, we want, Lord, we know
-
the adversaries everywhere. We know the
-
enemy is fighting. But God, I beg you
-
for a little while that you'd please
-
touch. And God, bless the remainder of
-
the week, God, that you'd do, I mean,
-
exceedingly abundantly above all that we
-
ask or think. And Lord, one day when we
-
look back at this week, and when we look
-
back in our minds and our hearts, we'll
-
say, "It was God that did it all. It was
-
God that did the work. It was God that
-
accomplished everything that we needed
-
done. For it is of you, God, that it'll
-
get done. God, you're the one we're
-
looking to. You're the one we're
-
LISTENING FOR. GOD, YOU'RE THE ONE WE'RE
-
leaning on. God, we're weak in
-
ourselves. WE HAVE NO ABILITY. WE HAVE
-
NO STRENGTH. GOD, Charlie can't do it.
-
Miss Abby CAN'T DO IT. GOD, I BEG YOU,
-
DO GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS. BLESS THEIR
-
FUTURE HERE. GOD, I BEG YOU. Use them.
-
Send them do mighty power. Save their
-
young ones, God. Just help them, GOD, IN
-
A POWERFUL and a mighty way, God. Keep
-
the enemy off of them. Help them to be
-
able to get REST AND REFRESHMENT. AND
-
GOD, BE BLESSED IN serving you. Have
-
your will and way, God. Help the church,
-
oh Lord, like like Aaron AND HER TO GET
-
UP UNDER THEIR ARMS. HOLD THEM UP SO
-
they can serve so they can do what
-
you've called them to do. Uh have your
-
way, oh God. Do mighty things. We thank
-
you and we love you for your kindness to
-
us. HAVE YOUR WAY NOW, OH GOD. Unify
-
this place. Unify these people. And
-
Lord, let mighty WALLS GO UP FOR THE
-
GLORY OF GOD. In Jesus' name we ask with
-
much thanksgiving.
-
Amen. And amen.
