  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God.

  9. >> Amen. And I'm thankful I heard his voice

  10. one day. Amen. And I appreciate the good

  11. singing tonight. Matthew's Gospel

  12. chapter 21. If you have a Bible,

  13. Matthew's Gospel, chapter number 21.

  14. Find your place if you would stand on

  15. rivers to the reading of God's word. Was

  16. thinking about something while they

  17. singing that. You know, I remember um

  18. first got saved and remember, you know,

  19. trying to discern the voice of God and

  20. the voice of my flesh, the voice of the

  21. devil in my life. And I I I've something

  22. in that song reminded me of something

  23. somebody said. I don't remember who told

  24. me this, but but u the devil when he

  25. talks to you, he's never personal.

  26. >> That's right.

  27. >> And uh you say, "What do you mean by

  28. that?" Well, it's always you. You did

  29. this. You did that.

  30. >> You know, you know you're guilty of

  31. this. You don't deserve that. When Jesus

  32. speaks to you, it's personal.

  33. >> Amen.

  34. >> Hey, child. That's

  35. >> right. Amen.

  36. >> That text she's talking about. Amen.

  37. Just a few short days, we'll celebrate

  38. that resurrection. Jesus looked at Mary

  39. and what did he do? He called her name.

  40. >> Tell you, there's probably a lot of

  41. people that um you look at Mary's life,

  42. there's probably a lot of people that

  43. took advantage of her that didn't know

  44. her name. But I'll tell you, the one

  45. that cared more about her than anything

  46. >> knew her name. Amen. And I'm thankful I

  47. know the voice of God by the way that he

  48. speaks. Amen. Jesus said, he said, "My

  49. sheep," he said, "they hear my voice and

  50. they know me." Amen. And man, I thank

  51. God for that. I appreciate the good

  52. truth uh shared in that song uh on this

  53. evening. Matthew's Gospel, chapter 21.

  54. You found your place tonight.

  55. >> Amen.

  56. >> Amen. Let's let's read together here.

  57. Look at these few verses. Going to read

  58. down through verse number seven. And you

  59. pray for me tonight. I just I really

  60. wanted to share this this morning, but

  61. God had other plans. And so, he knows

  62. what we need better than I do. And I'd

  63. rather him preach than me. Somebody say

  64. amen. And uh but I really like it when

  65. he helps me preach. Somebody say amen

  66. right there. Let's look in the text.

  67. Matthew 21:E number one. The Bible says,

  68. "And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem,

  69. and were come to Bethage unto the Mount

  70. of Olives, then sent Jesus two

  71. disciples, saying unto them, go into the

  72. village over against you, and

  73. straightway you shall find an ass tithe

  74. and a cult with her. Loose them, and

  75. bring them unto me. And if any man say

  76. all unto you, you shall say, The Lord

  77. hath need of them, and straightway he

  78. will send them. All this was done, that

  79. it might be fulfilled, which was spoken

  80. by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the

  81. daughter of Zion, behold, the king

  82. cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon

  83. an ass, and a cult the fo of an ass. In

  84. verse six, the Bible says, "And the

  85. disciples went and did as Jesus

  86. commanded them and brought the ass and

  87. the cold and put on them their clothes."

  88. Notice that last phrase, "and they set

  89. him there on." And uh I know we've heard

  90. this text preached. You probably heard

  91. this text preached every year around

  92. this time of the year. This being Palm

  93. Sunday, that is the celebration that's

  94. going to take place in this text. And

  95. I'm really not going to deal uh with the

  96. context. And I know that's that's

  97. crucifixion homalytically and

  98. hermeneutically, but I'm going to give

  99. you what God put on my heart. Amen. And

  100. uh it's going to be good. It's going to

  101. be uh it might be real good. It might be

  102. real bad, but it's going to be real

  103. either way. Amen. And you pray that God

  104. will help us tonight. Let's pray.

  105. Father, thank you for this truth

  106. tonight. Thank you for the word of God

  107. that you've given us, uh Lord, to look

  108. into. And I pray, God, that you would

  109. help us tonight as we've come to uh

  110. gather around the word tonight. We need

  111. your presence. We need your power, God.

  112. I realize I can't preach, God, if you

  113. don't help me. And so, God, I pray you'd

  114. clothe me in my calling. Give me

  115. uncction and liberty, God. I pray you'd

  116. fill me with the Holy Ghost. Remove uh

  117. any influence, God, that's otherworldly,

  118. God, that does not belong uh to the word

  119. of God and to the spirit of God. And I

  120. pray you'd bind the devil and the forces

  121. of hell, God. I pray for whatever needs

  122. are present in this service tonight,

  123. that all the will of God would be done

  124. in every heart and life. I pray that you

  125. would help us to receive with meekness

  126. the engrafted word and to receive the

  127. truth, God, that only you could give to

  128. us in these days. Help us to be obedient

  129. uh to the law tonight. Help us to uh

  130. receive it with meekness, God. That'll

  131. it'll help us. And I ask you, God,

  132. tonight for whatever needs are present,

  133. do your will. And Lord, I ask you, God,

  134. once again, get glory to yourself. And

  135. Lord, for what you do, we'll thank you

  136. for it because we ask it in Jesus' name.

  137. And God's children said,

  138. >> "Thank you for standing. You can be

  139. seated tonight. And I want to lay just a

  140. few things on your heart by way of

  141. introduction tonight. Today of course

  142. being Palm Sunday, my mind often

  143. migrates to this scripture and the

  144. parallel scriptures. Here you look there

  145. in Matthew 21 and in Mark chapter number

  146. 11 and uh Luke chapter number 19. John

  147. 12 deals with the triumphal entry of our

  148. Lord. And every one of them has a

  149. different perspective on this entrance

  150. of our Lord. But I'm what interests me

  151. about this is that every single one of

  152. the gospel writers accord record this

  153. event this time where our Lord enters

  154. into Jerusalem. And I like Matthew's

  155. account of it. But for Matthew has

  156. presented Christ as the king. And he

  157. emphasizes much the messianic prophecy

  158. in verse number four and five. He

  159. emphasizes that truth found in Zechariah

    Zechariah 9 chapter mention

  160. chapter 9 and verse number nine that our

  161. Lord would come and he would travel in

  162. on that cult the f of an ass. And

  163. there's a lot of preaching that I could

  164. do on the text particularly this morning

  165. concerning the coming of our Lord. But

  166. I'll say this, we know that just as he

  167. came the first time humble and lowly

  168. riding upon this cult, amen, the fo of

  169. an ass, we know that he's coming again.

  170. And he won't be coming riding upon the

  171. colt the fo of an ass, but he'll be

  172. coming on a white horse. Somebody say

  173. amen right there. And we know without a

  174. shadow of a doubt that it's not going to

  175. be very long before he comes again. And

  176. I want to give you some truths out of

  177. this text. I want you to notice by way

  178. of introduction. Number one, the city

  179. that are mentioned here. The Bible says,

  180. "And when they drew nigh unto

  181. Jerusalem." So Jesus is making his

  182. journey toward the cross. Jerusalem of

  183. course would be the place where he would

  184. go to suffer and die. And I thought

  185. about this. You know Christ would enter

  186. Jerusalem on this cult. But you

  187. understand he would exit Jerusalem with

  188. the cross. Amen. He would be carried in

  189. by this cult. But as he would go out, he

  190. would be carrying his cross. And I'm

  191. thankful, friend, that for the days in

  192. our life, you understand there's days

  193. when we carry Jesus and we do a good job

  194. of expressing him to this world. We bear

  195. his name. But aren't you thankful for

  196. the days when we aren't able to carry

  197. him, he's able to carry us. Amen. Oh

  198. friend, that's good preaching tonight.

  199. Amen. I notice not only the city in the

  200. text as Jesus is headed to Jerusalem,

  201. but I notice Christ in the text, he is

  202. journeying with his disciples. Verse one

  203. he said they were come to Bethage which

  204. is Bethany unto the mount of olives and

  205. the Bible says then sent Jesus two of

  206. his disciples. So he has given them an

  207. instruction here in the text Christ is

  208. going to make his entrance in

  209. fulfillment of prophecy there into

  210. Jerusalem and they would throw the palm

  211. branches down in front of him. In verse

  212. number eight, that that great multitude

  213. spread their garments in the way and

  214. others cut down branches from the trees

  215. and straw them in the way. Verse 9, and

  216. the multitudes that went before and that

  217. followed, cried, saying, hosana to the

  218. son of David. Blessed is he that cometh

  219. in the name of the Lord. Hosana in the

  220. highest. And so EVERYBODY AROUND THIS

  221. SITUATION is exalting Jesus. Amen. And I

  222. don't know about you, but I like it when

  223. he's central and he is preeminent. Amen.

  224. And he's above all. Amen. And everybody

  225. around is just looking to him. Hey, let

  226. me say when he is exalted and he is

  227. central, the best thing that can happen

  228. in your LIFE FOR THE FELLOWSHIP between

  229. you and your family, for the FELLOWSHIP

  230. BETWEEN YOU AND THIS church is to allow

  231. him to be central and to be the focal

  232. point of everything that goes on.

  233. >> Because you know what? As long as you're

  234. looking around, you're going to

  235. constantly find fault. But I'm thankful

  236. nobody's ever found fault looking at

  237. him. Amen. So he's coming in in this

  238. text and I notice not only the city and

  239. the Christ in the text but I noticed

  240. this cult in the text and the Bible says

  241. in verse number number one he sent two

  242. of his disciples in verse two saying

  243. unto them go over go into the village

  244. over against you and straightway you

  245. shall find an ashtie and a coat with her

  246. loose them and bring them unto me. And I

  247. was reading this text and God just began

  248. to put some thoughts together in my mind

  249. concerning this message. Now, I've

  250. preached this message, preached a

  251. message like this before, a totally

  252. different way, talking about the donkey

  253. that had God on him and how that God, he

  254. supernaturally loosed him. He had to be

  255. redeemed. He had to be bought so that he

  256. could serve God. But I don't want to

  257. take that angle looking at this tonight,

  258. but I want to talk to you tonight if I

  259. could. Not about what this cult had to

  260. do to be made suitable. But I want to

  261. preach to you for just a little while on

  262. why this cult was suitable

  263. >> to serve Christ. And I was thinking

  264. about youth Sunday. I notice in this

  265. text and and you say, "What does this

  266. have to do with you Sunday?" Well,

  267. John's account literally says that his

  268. this cult was young. That's

  269. >> right. John 12 and verse number 14. It's

  270. a young colt. This is a yearling, so to

  271. speak. It's a young donkey. And when I

  272. was looking at this text, I I thought of

  273. just a few things here. And let me give

  274. you this and I'll get to the message. I

  275. I'll say this. Number one, this donkey

  276. was prophesied of.

  277. >> You say, "How is that?" Well, notice the

  278. book of Zechariah.

  279. Zechariah chapter number nine. Listen to

  280. what the prophet says concerning this

  281. little cult. Zechariah chapter 9 and

    Zechariah 9 chapter mention

  282. verse number nine. Rejoice greatly, oh

  283. daughter of Zion. Shout, oh daughter of

  284. Jerusalem. Behold, thy king cometh unto

  285. thee. He is just and having salvation,

  286. lowly and riding upon an ass. Notice

  287. your Bible. And upon a cult, the fo of

  288. an ash. So it was prophesied. And you

  289. know what? In the mind of God, God knew

  290. exactly which one it would be.

  291. >> Amen. Boy, I'm thankful tonight, friend,

  292. that God knows exactly who you are and

  293. exactly where you're at. And he knows

  294. exactly the plan that he has in mind for

  295. your life. Amen. I'll say this. This

  296. cult was prophesied of, but not only

  297. this. This cult wasn't only prophesied

  298. of, but he was promised. Listen to what

  299. Jesus said to his disciples. He told

  300. them, he said, "You go over into the

  301. village over against you, and

  302. straightway, what's them next three

  303. words? Ye shall find." And you know

  304. what? Where they went, they found

  305. exactly what he said. You're

  306. >> right.

  307. >> There was a young cult tied. And I want

  308. to say this, he wasn't only prophesied

  309. of and he wasn't only promised, but I'll

  310. say he was provided.

  311. >> Right?

  312. >> Mark 11 verse number five and 6 says

  313. that the owner of this cult after he

  314. questioned the disciples, he gave them.

  315. He turned him over

  316. >> to the Lord. Now, there's a lot of

  317. preaching in that for young people, but

  318. I'm going to give you the message

  319. tonight. I wanted to highlight three

  320. things on on this text tonight. I want

  321. to title it this way. If we could call

  322. it this. I want to call it a cult for

  323. Christ.

  324. A cult for Christ. And when I look at

  325. this text, there's some things that I

  326. notice about this cult. Three things in

  327. particular, maybe four. I don't know if

  328. we'll get that far tonight. But I notice

  329. first of all in this text when I think

  330. about this coat I want you to notice

  331. first of all here in the text the Bible

  332. says that he was waiting to be loosed.

  333. Look what the Bible said in verse two.

  334. Jesus sent two of his disciples saying

  335. them go into the village over against

  336. you and straightway what's your Bible

  337. say? You shall find an ass what?

  338. >> Tithed and a cult with her. Loose them

  339. and bring them unto me. You say,

  340. "Preacher, well, what's the emphasis of

  341. that? What are you what's the point that

  342. you want to make with that?" Well, I

  343. think primarily in the text, you

  344. understand this cult was confined. Now,

  345. if you know anything about animals

  346. tonight, and I know where we live, Amen.

  347. Uh, in this part of the world, we know

  348. much about animals. What I had to find

  349. out the hard way about my little dog is

  350. is that he needs a lot to stay in. Amen.

  351. And so I just took him to Dustin's house

  352. and he lives over there. Amen. And

  353. instead of building a lot, I'm going to

  354. get one eventually. Amen. But what I'm

  355. saying is this. All right. Animals need

  356. confinement. You're

  357. >> right.

  358. >> You say, "Well, what's the emphasis of

  359. that?" Well, Jesus said, "You'll find

  360. this colt tied." Is there'll be an ass

  361. there and she'll be tied, but then

  362. there'll be this colt there and he'll be

  363. tied as well. And these these thoughts

  364. began to run through my mind. Why was he

  365. tied? Why was this cult tied up? And I

  366. thought about this this cult waiting to

  367. be loosed. I would say number one, he

  368. was tied up for number one, for

  369. provision.

  370. >> You say, "What do you mean by that?"

  371. Well, I would say he was tied up so he

  372. could grow.

  373. >> Amen.

  374. >> I You say, "What? What's the answer to

  375. that? If he got out, he could go out and

  376. roam and eat what he wanted to." No.

  377. Here's the thing about it. You need to

  378. know about this climate. You see that

  379. climate? It was desert.

  380. >> There's nothing that grows there.

  381. >> And if they were going to be fed,

  382. somebody voluntarily had to feed them.

  383. Amen. And so this cult is tied up in

  384. this text for his own provision. You

  385. say, "Well, why was he tied up?" Well,

  386. let me just say this. God couldn't use

  387. one that was wild,

  388. >> right?

  389. >> God had to use one had been kept up

  390. with, been taken care of. And let me say

  391. this to you young people. So you need to

  392. embrace the fact that you are not ready

  393. to be loosed yet.

  394. >> Amen.

  395. >> You say, "What do you mean, preacher?"

  396. I'm saying, "As long as you are in your

  397. parents' house, you are under their

  398. authority. And it is their

  399. responsibility to shield you and protect

  400. you from some things that otherwise you

  401. would be destroyed by if you were

  402. allowed to run loose."

  403. >> But let me say this. It's more than, and

  404. I'm giving you the second point there.

  405. Number one, provision. Number two,

  406. protection. Not only that they could

  407. grow but that so they could be guarded.

  408. >> Let me say this. You are given the place

  409. that you live the people that you live

  410. with. So they are responsible for you.

  411. They were responsible for your

  412. nourishment. And we know this that as a

  413. baby's not able to feed itself. A

  414. teenager just because they can feed

  415. themselves doesn't mean they have the

  416. right amen to decide where they can feed

  417. themselves.

  418. >> I'm not talking about physically either.

  419. >> Come on.

  420. >> I'm not talking about food. You

  421. shouldn't let your child decide where

  422. you going to go to church. You're

  423. >> right.

  424. >> Amen. It is your responsibility as their

  425. parent. This this this donkey was tied

  426. up. He was waiting to be loose because

  427. he NEEDED SOMEBODY TO PROVIDE HIS NEED.

  428. BUT HE ALSO NEEDED SOMEBODY to protect

  429. HIM BECAUSE IF HE GOT OUT, you know what

  430. was going to happen to him? He would be

  431. killed.

  432. >> Right.

  433. >> Loose animals were not treated kindly in

  434. this culture. And so if he was to get

  435. out, he would be taken out, so to speak.

  436. And let me just remind you this. ALL

  437. THAT THIS YOUNG CULT needed was right

  438. where he was at. That's

  439. >> right.

  440. >> Oh, friend, somebody hear the preacher

  441. tonight.

  442. >> Let me say this. Everything that you

  443. need, child, whatever age you are,

  444. you'll find it at your house and you'll

  445. find it at the church.

  446. >> That's right.

  447. >> All right. I'm going to try not to get

  448. ahead of myself on this because I want

  449. to emphasize this point. He was waiting

  450. to be loosed. You see, Christ could not

  451. use a wild cult. And and if it was wild,

  452. it would have to be caught. But you see,

  453. this cult was already tied up. You say,

  454. "Preacher, what does that mean?" Well,

  455. there's some things as a young person

  456. you ought to be tied up in.

  457. >> Right?

  458. >> Amen.

  459. >> Come on.

  460. >> You ought to be tied up with your

  461. parents.

  462. >> Amen. I tell you this, there's nothing

  463. better in this life than being close to

  464. your mom and daddy that they gave you.

  465. And I understand not everybody has that.

  466. If you do, you ought to thank God for

  467. it. Amen. But you ought to be tied up

  468. with your parents. You ought to be tied

  469. up with the people of God. Your best

  470. friends in this world ought to be in

  471. this building right now.

  472. >> You say, "How is that?" Well, let me

  473. just say this. I know the quality of

  474. what's here.

  475. >> And your parents, they want you to be

  476. involved in what's going on down at the

  477. house of God because they're trying to

  478. protect you. But not only that, they're

  479. trying to provide for you. I'll say

  480. this, there's people in the church

  481. that'll do you wrong. But I'll say this.

  482. I'd rather be safe in the house of God

  483. around people that love me than out in

  484. the world where people that hate my guts

  485. and don't care nothing about me. I'D

  486. RATHER BE TIED UP HERE THAN LOOSE OUT

  487. THERE. AMEN.

  488. >> You see, this cult was acceptable. He

  489. was easy to find because he was tied up.

  490. >> He was tied up so he could grow. Peter

  491. said this way. He closed out his second

  492. epistle. He said, "But grow in grace in

  493. the knowledge of our Lord and Savior

  494. Jesus Christ." And that growth in your

  495. life is going to happen at the church.

  496. You're

  497. >> right.

  498. >> Amen. You need to be tied up the church.

  499. >> Oh friend, that's good tonight.

  500. >> You need to be tied up in the word of

  501. God. You need to be tied up in the

  502. church for your provision. But I'll say

  503. this concerning your protection. The

  504. home that you are in. The church that

  505. you are at is a haven for your growth

  506. and for your garden. And let me say it

  507. again. You are not ready to be loosed

  508. yet.

  509. >> Right?

  510. >> You say, "Preacher, well, I'm 18." That

  511. doesn't mean that you're ready to be

  512. loosed yet.

  513. And I know it ain't popular, but I'm

  514. going to preach it anyway. If they're

  515. living under your roof, they are under

  516. your authority. And if you allow them to

  517. walk over you, that's your fault.

  518. >> Amen. You say, "Preacher, you try to

  519. preach that when your children get 18."

  520. I intend on preaching it. Because let me

  521. tell you something, friend. If I don't

  522. raise them by that book, the devil's

  523. gonna come after them before he'll come

  524. after any OF YOUR KIDS. WHY IS THAT?

  525. BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU THE

  526. TRUTH.

  527. HE WANTS THEM more than anybody CUZ HE

  528. KNOWS IF HE CAN TAKE THEM, HE CAN

  529. undermine what I have to preach.

  530. >> And so, friend, you better believe I'm

  531. going to preach it. They're going to be

  532. tied UP. YOU SAY, "WHAT DOES THAT

  533. translate to?" Sheltered.

  534. >> Amen.

  535. >> Amen, FRIEND. SHELTERED. I'M SAYING,

  536. FRIEND, HEY, THE WORLD CAN FROWN ON IT.

  537. Y'ALL a bunch of fanatics. WELL, I'LL

  538. TELL YOU THIS. I'D RATHER THEM BE CLOSE

  539. to Jesus and LOVE GOD AND LOVE THEIR

  540. FAMILY THAN THEM KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT

  541. THIS WORLD. THE WORLD CAN SAY THEY'RE

  542. SHELTER. THE WORLD CAN SAY WE'RE THEY'RE

  543. WE'RE CRAZY. BUT WHEN THEY AIN'T GOT

  544. TATTOOS RUNNING UP THEIR ARM AND SHOT

  545. MARKS IN THEIR ARM OR THEY'VE BEEN

  546. SHOOTING UP DOPE AND EVERYTHING ELSE

  547. WHEN THEY AIN'T NEVER DRUNK A JOB AND

  548. THEY AIN'T NEVER FORNICATED, LOST THEIR

  549. PURITY. I'D RATHER THEM BE PRESERVED

  550. DOWN AT THE HOUSE OF GOD. AMEN.

  551. >> He was tied up. He was waiting to be

  552. loosed. Let me say this. Get to the next

  553. point. It's it's a good thing for your

  554. children to learn responsibility. You

  555. say, "Well, they need a job." If you

  556. can't supervise that, I'd be careful

  557. with that.

  558. >> Come on. Come on.

  559. >> There's a man that I know. I don't know

  560. him very well, but his children, he was

  561. a preacher and had some other

  562. accusations come out on him, but he

  563. allowed his children to go get a job in

  564. a shopping mall.

  565. And uh time went on. You watched his

  566. children. It seemed that they their

  567. their social media, that was another

  568. thing. Amen. And if they're under 18

  569. years old, they don't need all that

  570. garbage. Amen.

  571. >> But their ch his children, he he gave

  572. them a job in a shopping mall. And what

  573. happened is those liberals and leftists

  574. in that shopping mall turned the minds

  575. of his children. That's

  576. >> right.

  577. >> He lost them. And they run off. His boy

  578. had a boy and a daughter and they run

  579. off and left him. They started looking

  580. like the world, acting like the world,

  581. and dressing like the world because he

  582. allowed them to have a job. Well, they

  583. need some responsibility. You better be

  584. careful. They may not be ready for that.

  585. >> That's right.

  586. Amen. You see, you're preparing them for

  587. something.

  588. >> You're right.

  589. >> And I I I put this out there, too. You

  590. could put it in the text. Amen. He He

  591. was kept He was tied up for his

  592. provision. He was tied up for his

  593. protection. And I'll say this, he was

  594. tied up for his preparation. That's

  595. >> right.

  596. >> You see, he had a job he was going to

  597. have to do. That's

  598. >> right.

  599. >> Amen. And one of these days when that

  600. job come to do, he needed to be ready

  601. for that.

  602. >> Amen.

  603. >> Oh, friend, that's good. Tonight, let's

  604. look at this. Second of all, I see not

  605. only this cult was waiting to be loosed,

  606. he was ready when they came to him. But

  607. let me say this. Second of all, not only

  608. he was waiting to be loosed, number two,

  609. he was willing to be led.

  610. Willing to be led. Notice the verse.

  611. Verse two again. He said unto them, "Go

  612. into the village over against you.

  613. Straight way you shall find an asset

  614. tied and a cult with her. Loose them."

  615. What's that last phrase? And bring them

  616. unto me. Notice verse seven or verse

  617. six. And the disciples went and did as

  618. Jesus commanded them. Verse 7, and

  619. brought the ass and the colt. So, you

  620. know what? This this donkey here, the

  621. mother, and then this young colt here,

  622. uh her son were brought by these

  623. disciples unto Jesus. And I I this this

  624. partic the reason that I've chosen this

  625. particular account of this story is for

  626. this reason. This is the only account of

  627. this story where Jesus when he was

  628. riding in on this cult that there's not

  629. just one donkey mentioned. When you look

  630. at Mark 11, Luke 19, and John 12, all

  631. that you find mentioned is this cult.

  632. But in Matthew's gospel, you find

  633. mention that his mother is there with

  634. him.

  635. >> You say, "What does that have to do?"

  636. Well, I say this in this thought,

  637. willing to be led. The Bible says Jesus

  638. told them to bring them. Verse seven,

  639. the disciples brought them. So that

  640. emphasizes the fact that they were

  641. willing to go. All right? They were

  642. ready to go. Now, let me say this.

  643. Number one, in this thought that they

  644. were willing to be led. Number one,

  645. there is the example of the elk. You

  646. say, "What do you mean?" Well, notice

  647. the text again. Verse number two, ye

  648. shall find an asset tide. That's a

  649. female.

  650. >> Ye shall find an asset tide and a cult

  651. with her. Verse number seven. And they

  652. brought the axe and the coat. You're

  653. >> right.

  654. >> So there's the example of the arrow. You

  655. say, "What is that?" Well, if you know

  656. anything about animals, when you

  657. separate a mother and its baby, most

  658. time it don't end well.

  659. >> Right?

  660. >> Amen. I read one writer said this said

  661. that, you know, Jesus when they put him

  662. on that coat, it was amazing that his

  663. mother didn't get upset by this. Well,

  664. I'll tell you the reason why his mother

  665. didn't get upset. that that mother

  666. donkey didn't get upset because that she

  667. was watching her son bear the same

  668. burden that she had borne.

  669. >> That's right.

  670. >> Oh friend,

  671. >> come on.

  672. >> Is anybody in the building?

  673. >> You say, "What's the example of the

  674. elder?" You see, this is in this

  675. account. It reveals that this mother was

  676. brought

  677. first. Notice the order.

  678. Ye shall find an asset tide and the colt

  679. with her. Verse seven. and they brought

  680. the ash and the colt. Now, isn't that

  681. interesting? You say, "What's

  682. interesting about that?" Well, it it

  683. implies that the mother was leading.

  684. >> You're right.

  685. >> You say, "What is that?" Well, she was

  686. faithful to follow those disciples. You

  687. see, this mother was brought so the cult

  688. could follow her.

  689. >> That's right.

  690. >> Let me ask you this. If we were to go to

  691. where you're at, mama or daddy, would we

  692. find your children there? Come on.

  693. >> I'm not talking about locationally. I'm

  694. talking about spiritually.

  695. >> You're right.

  696. >> It is your job to bring them along.

  697. >> You're right.

  698. >> It is your job to make sure that they're

  699. nourished spiritually. You say,

  700. "Preacher, should my children be as far

  701. along as I am? They should know

  702. everything that you know about God.

  703. >> You should teach them every truth about

  704. Jesus that you know. If you learn

  705. something, you ought to share it to

  706. them. If God shows you something, they

  707. ought to know about it. You ought not

  708. hide it from them because you are

  709. responsible for their spiritual

  710. condition. And you will answer to God

  711. for what you teach that child. That's

  712. >> right.

  713. >> This donkey was brought to Jesus first

  714. and the cult was to follow behind. She

  715. is the leader led by the Lord. Let me

  716. ask you this. If your children follow

  717. you as they should, will it will they be

  718. brought to Jesus? Come on.

  719. >> IF YOUR CHILDREN FOLLOW YOU, if they

  720. follow your life, if they follow your

  721. faith, will they be brought to Jesus?

  722. >> Amen.

  723. >> The truth is, and I I think many of our

  724. lives, we have a facade of godliness on

  725. the outside, but we are refusing to

  726. embrace the burden of being the leader

  727. in the home. YOU SEE, IT'S OUR

  728. RESPONSIBILITY TO TEACH THEM,

  729. >> RIGHT?

  730. >> My dad embraced this. I remember I was

  731. in middle school and and and I was in

  732. public school. And look, I'm not telling

  733. you what to do tonight. I'm not telling

  734. you this is the only way to do it. But

  735. I'll tell you, this is what God had to

  736. do in our life. And I've told the church

  737. this before, but I remember dad embraced

  738. this. Dad embraced what Moses said.

  739. >> Come on.

  740. >> He said, "You shall teach them when you

  741. walk by the way, when y'all sit in your

  742. house, when you lie in your bed." And

  743. basically what Moses was telling the

  744. children of Israel, everywhere you go

  745. and in everything that you do, you ought

  746. to be teaching them. That's

  747. >> right.

  748. >> And this is what daddy told me. He said,

  749. "I embraced that." And God was telling

  750. me, "If you're at public school, I can't

  751. influence you."

  752. >> You're right.

  753. >> If you're somewhere else being

  754. influenced by somebody else or something

  755. else, look, I know it's not popular

  756. tonight, but I'll tell you this. I'm

  757. thankful he did it when he did because,

  758. man, I'm telling you, the voices of this

  759. world and the voices of the wicked one

  760. himself were trying to take me away. And

  761. it TOOK HIM A TIME TO GET THEIR VOICE,

  762. GOD'S VOICE, LOUDER INTO my life than

  763. what that voice of the WORLD HAD BEEN

  764. FOR SO LONG. BUT BOY, I'M THANKFUL THAT

  765. HE embraced it and he brought me BACK

  766. HOME. AND FRIEND, HEY, I DIDN'T LIKE IT.

  767. I didn't like BEING TIED UP WHERE I'D

  768. BEEN LET LOOSE FOR SO LONG. BUT FRIEND,

  769. AFTER A WHILE, I BECAME ACCUSTOMED TO

  770. THAT ROPE ON MY LIFE. YOU SAY,

  771. "PREACHER, THAT'S BONDAGE." NO, FRIEND,

  772. IT'S FREEDOM. IT'S FREEDOM IN JESUS

  773. CHRIST. IT'S PEACE AND IT'S JOY. BEING

  774. KEPT FROM THE SIN, BEING KEPT FROM THE

  775. SUFFERING, BEING KEPT FROM ALL THE

  776. WICKED AND EVIL, UNGODLY THINGS OF THIS

  777. WORLD THAT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO,

  778. >> RIGHT?

  779. >> Because he embraced what the Bible said.

  780. >> You say, "Preacher, that's Old

  781. Testament." Well, let me ask you

  782. something. Is it any less true?

  783. >> That's right.

  784. >> You're commanded to teach your children

  785. every hour of every day.

  786. >> You're right.

  787. >> That's what that says. You say,

  788. "Preacher, I can't literally teach

  789. them." That's not the principle. They're

  790. supposed to be watching how you live.

  791. You're

  792. >> right.

  793. >> Amen. And if they can't watch how you

  794. live, and here here's the sad thing. All

  795. right. We I know people that ship their

  796. children off to Christian school and

  797. things of that nature. A lot of people

  798. in this church do that, that's great.

  799. I'd have no problem with that. But the

  800. reason they do that is because they want

  801. them to turn out better than they did.

  802. >> And that's sad. You say, "How is that?"

  803. I'm saying, friend, you ought to be the

  804. best, most utmost character in their

  805. life.

  806. >> You're right.

  807. >> You ought to be the most godly person

  808. that your children know.

  809. >> You're right.

  810. >> And as far I'll be I'll be completely

  811. transparent with you tonight. As far as

  812. people that I know love God and want to

  813. walk with God, my mom and daddy are the

  814. top to me.

  815. >> Amen.

  816. >> And I'd say that in front of them. I'll

  817. say it behind their back. And I bless

  818. the name of God for that. My daddy will

  819. tell you he's not the best preacher.

  820. He's not the best pastor. He tells me

  821. all the time, "Son, you're going to go

  822. so much farther than I ever have. I ever

  823. will because you got so much more than

  824. what I have." But I look at him and I

  825. say, "I just want what you got. I JUST

  826. WANT TO LOVE GOD THE WAY YOU LOVE GOD. I

  827. JUST WANT TO LOVE THE CHURCH AND LOVE MY

  828. WIFE THE WAY THAT YOU DO. I'M SAYING,

  829. FRIEND, YOU OUGHT TO BE THE MOST GODLY

  830. PERSON IN YOUR CHILDREN'S LIVES."

  831. >> The ass was first.

  832. And then notice not only the

  833. the example of the elder, but notice the

  834. employment of the younger. Listen to me

  835. here, parents. Listen to me, young

  836. people. Notice what your Bible says.

  837. Bible said in verse two, "Ye shall find

  838. an ass tie in the coat with her. Loose

  839. them. Bring them unto me." They're both

  840. brought to Jesus. Verse 6 and 7. And the

  841. Bible said in verse 7, "And they brought

  842. the ass in the cold and put on them

  843. their clothes, and they set him there

  844. on." Now, we could look at all the other

  845. accounts tonight, and here's what you'd

  846. find. Some would say, you know, well,

  847. they brought that mother donkey because

  848. she was bigger and so Jesus must have

  849. been set upon her. But if you look at

  850. all the other accounts as well as the

  851. prophet of Zechariah 9, it all implies

  852. that Jesus rode upon the little one.

  853. >> He was a little male.

  854. And I thought about this in this text.

  855. You see, the employment of the younger

  856. and all of these gospel records state

  857. that that the cult carried Jesus. And

  858. and and so I I thought about this. You

  859. you say, "Well, what was the reason for

  860. that?" Well, I would say number one,

  861. prophecy was the reason. It was a cult

  862. that Zachariah prophesied of that would

  863. carry him. But I'll say this, it was I

  864. believe it was the purpose of God in

  865. this text. And it fits this illustration

  866. for this reason. You see, this older

  867. donkey had been used for labor.

  868. Listen to me. This older donkey had been

  869. used for labor. Now, if you know

  870. anything about Jewish history, meal work

  871. was a big thing in Jewish history. And

  872. they would use these donkeys. They would

  873. tie them to a power wheel. Some would

  874. have they would have two, some would

  875. have four. And what they would do is

  876. they would turn a big turntable that

  877. would drive the meal. That's right.

  878. >> More than likely, this donkey probably

  879. did something like that. But I will say

  880. this, if she didn't work uh if she

  881. wasn't used in a meal, she would be used

  882. for pulling wagons and and plows. And

  883. and I thought about this. She she she

  884. was she was used to labor. That's

  885. obviously why she was tied. She has

  886. birthed this cult. And uh so this cult

  887. is being brought up. But I thought about

  888. this truth. According to what the Bible

  889. says, this cult had never done any

  890. labor. Notice Mark chapter 11.

    Mark 11 chapter mention

  891. Mark chapter number 11.

  892. Donkeys were primarily animals. They

  893. were beast of burden. They were used to

  894. ride upon.

  895. Listen to what Jesus said. Markap 11.

  896. Listen to Mark's account of this story.

  897. Mark 11 and verse two. He sendeth forth

  898. two of his disciples, say them, "Go your

  899. way into the village over against you,

  900. and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye

  901. shall find a colt tied." What's that

  902. phrase? Where on man sat,

  903. >> right?

  904. >> Loose him and bring him. You say, "Well,

  905. what's the emphasis of that? This donkey

  906. had never been used,

  907. >> right?

  908. >> This donkey's never labored. This

  909. donkey's never had to work. He has never

  910. had the burden on him that his mother

  911. had.

  912. >> That's right.

  913. >> And you say, "Preacher, what's the

  914. emphasis of that?" Well, it can be

  915. summed up in this work, this truth right

  916. here. The first work that this donkey

  917. did was carry the Lord.

  918. >> Amen.

  919. >> Listen to what I'm going to tell you. If

  920. you miss everything else that I say to

  921. you tonight, do not miss what I'm going

  922. to tell you right now. The first work,

  923. are you listening?

  924. >> Yes. The first work that your child that

  925. any child should be involved in is not

  926. the work in your yard. It's not the work

  927. at home, but it's the work of the Lord.

  928. >> You're right.

  929. >> Before everything else, they shouldn't

  930. have a job before they have a have have

  931. something to do at the house of God.

  932. That's

  933. >> right. If they've never worked for the

  934. Lord in some form or fashion, if they've

  935. never went on visitation, if they never

  936. went sewing, if they've never helped

  937. with Bible school, if they've never

  938. assisted in a Sunday school class, I'm

  939. saying the first work that a child

  940. should ever do is the work for the Lord.

  941. >> Amen.

  942. >> You see, his mama, of course, she

  943. probably could have carried the load

  944. better,

  945. >> right?

  946. >> Wouldn't we agree with that? But let me

  947. say this, that donkey had to learn.

  948. That's

  949. >> right.

  950. >> The same way mama did.

  951. >> Amen.

  952. >> And you know what? They brought mama

  953. there. He comes along behind and what

  954. does he do? She doesn't bear the Lord.

  955. But you know what she does? She

  956. accompanies him.

  957. >> That's right.

  958. >> As he does the work of the Lord. Right.

  959. >> And let me give you some hope tonight,

  960. mama, daddy, wherever you're at. Just

  961. because whatever labor, whatever sin and

  962. toil in your life has brought you does

  963. not mean that you cannot see your

  964. children thrive for Jesus.

  965. >> That's right.

  966. >> Amen. Amen.

  967. >> Is anybody in the building?

  968. >> Amen.

  969. >> I don't know about you, but that's the

  970. greatest thing. Amen.

  971. >> Amen.

  972. >> The sin that you've been dealt with

  973. because of somebody else's decisions,

  974. because of somebody else's failures, and

  975. I'm sitting in a room where people I

  976. know have broken homes and broken lives.

  977. LET ME SAY TO YOU, CHILD OF GOD, MAMA,

  978. DADDY, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR

  979. CHILDREN CANNOT SERVE GOD.

  980. >> BUT IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TEACH

  981. THEM, TO LEAD THEM. AND WHEN IT'S THEIR

  982. TIME TO SERVE GOD, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU

  983. NEED TO DO? YOU NEED TO GET RIGHT BESIDE

  984. OF THEM AND WALK WITH THEM. IS ANYBODY

  985. IN THE BUILDING TONIGHT? YOU NEED TO

  986. STAY AT THEIR SIDE AND ENCOURAGE THEM.

  987. AMEN.

  988. >> AMEN.

  989. >> The first work you should be involved in

  990. is the Lord's work.

  991. >> Amen.

  992. >> And let me say this to you young people.

  993. Before you can be loosed, you've got to

  994. be willing to be led. Right?

  995. >> If you are a constant pull against that

  996. rope in your life, if you're constantly

  997. against what your parents are trying to

  998. teach you, they've got a right not to

  999. let you go.

  1000. >> That's right.

1001. >> Until an animal can stand in the barn

1002. with that rope, that yoke loose, that

1003. rope loose. Until they can stand there

1004. and allow that rope to hold them and not

1005. be pulling against it and fighting

1006. against it, you know what you do? You

  1007. don't untie. That's

  1008. >> right.

1009. We had show cows growing up and I

1010. remember it man I I we we'd get those

1011. bottle calves and man we we would lose I

1012. mean I'm telling you we go down there to

1013. the farm show and we'd have them bottle

1014. cavs that we've raised ourselves and you

  1015. know other people they've spent 20 30

1016. $40,000 on the champion bloodline simmon

1017. tall. Amen. We show up with our little

1018. black baldy mixed up thing. Amen. And

1019. show up in there. We've raised on a

1020. bottle and we fought with them. But you

1021. know what? From the time that they were

1022. a baby, you know what we'd do? We'd take

1023. that halter and put on and tie them off.

  1024. That's right.

1025. >> And every once in a while, we'd go and

1026. untie them. And you know what we do?

  1027. We'd lead them around.

  1028. >> That's right.

1029. >> But until they would get to where we

1030. could lead them, you know what we do?

  1031. We'd leave them tied up. That's

  1032. >> right.

1033. >> You are not ready to be loosed

1034. >> if you're not willing to be led.

  1035. >> Amen.

1036. >> You are not ready to be loosed if you're

1037. not willing to be led.

  1038. >> Right.

  1039. >> I'll give you this and I'm done.

1040. And this is the best part. Amen. You

1041. see, this donkey was waiting to be

1042. loose. This donkey was willing to be

  1043. led. He's brought there.

1044. None of the gospel accounts say anything

1045. about him bucking under the load. And

1046. you know, the only the master of the

1047. wind and ways was riding him. That's

  1048. >> right.

1049. >> I mean, if there was any bit of will in

1050. him that would rar up against the Lord,

1051. you know what? Jesus didn't even have to

  1052. say nothing. He just

  1053. >> Right.

  1054. >> Amen.

1055. Let me say this. If you have a child

  1056. that's going that's that's fought

1057. against the rope their entire life, you

1058. know what they probably need? They

  1059. probably need Jesus.

  1060. >> Right?

1061. >> If they won't listen to you and if they

1062. have they've spurned every bit of truth

1063. that you've tried to tell them, it's

1064. probably because they need Jesus.

  1065. >> Right?

  1066. >> If they don't submit, that's that that

1067. does not mean it's your fault, mama.

1068. does not mean it's your fault, Daddy.

1069. And the thing about it is is, you know,

1070. and I've I've seen this with parents,

  1071. and I I don't know why I'm just hanging

1072. on this, but you say, "Preacher, well,

  1073. you've never raised children." Well, I

  1074. haven't, but I've been one.

  1075. >> That's right.

  1076. >> And I and I thought about I thought

1077. about what I went through. I know I was

1078. saved by the grace of God and the

1079. brokenness of my heart and my rebellion.

  1080. I didn't enjoy those days. Right?

1081. >> But if your child enjoys being in

  1082. rebellion to you,

1083. >> they just need Jesus,

  1084. >> right?

1085. >> And you know what you need to do? You

1086. don't need to let them loose,

  1087. >> right?

1088. >> Cuz Jesus needs to be the first thing

  1089. they carry.

  1090. >> Amen.

1091. >> Needs to be the first burden they bear.

1092. Notice this and I'm done.

1093. We see he was waiting to be loosed. He

1094. was willing to be led. Number three.

1095. Number three, I'll say this. He was

  1096. wanted by the Lord.

1097. Notice what your Bible says again. Verse

1098. two, he said, "Ye shall find an asht

1099. tied and a coat with her. Loose them and

1100. bring them unto me." Verse three, "And

1101. if any man say ought unto you, ye shall

1102. say, what's that phrase? The Lord hath

1103. need of him." And let me say this to

  1104. you. I don't know, you know, I don't

1105. know your situation. I don't know your

1106. family life. I don't know any of that.

1107. This is what I can tell you across the

  1108. board. God wants them.

1109. >> Amen. He wants your children. He wants

  1110. you.

1111. >> But he wants your children.

  1112. >> That's right.

1113. >> But I thought about this. You notice in

1114. that text, and I'm staying right in the

1115. text with this. Okay. Number one, I

1116. would say this. They were wanted by the

1117. Lord in spite of the discouragement of

  1118. others.

  1119. >> You're right.

1120. >> You say, "What do you mean in spite of

1121. the discouragement of others?" Well,

1122. notice what Jesus said. He said in verse

1123. three, "And if any man say ought unto

1124. you," you know, people's going to have

1125. stuff to say about your children,

  1126. >> right?

  1127. >> Amen.

1128. >> Trying to serve God. You trying to raise

1129. them right? You better believe there's

1130. somebody going to say something.

1131. >> You say, "Preacher, but but but but but

1132. I don't want them to be offended.

  1133. >> I don't want my children to suffer

  1134. because of my standard."

  1135. >> I'll tell you what, they'll suffer a lot

1136. more because of your sin than they will

  1137. your standard.

1138. >> Did anybody hear what I just said?

  1139. >> They'll suffer a lot more because of

  1140. your sin

1141. >> than they will because of that standard.

  1142. >> You can't build a fence too high. That's

1143. >> right. You can't do it. You say,

1144. "Preacher, well, we're not going to be a

1145. legalist." No. Let me let me tell you

1146. what a legalist is. That's adding works

  1147. to salvation.

  1148. >> That's right.

1149. >> What do we believe about salvation?

1150. Salvation's by grace through faith.

  1151. >> That's it.

1152. >> We don't add any works to salvation. But

1153. you know what? Because they are saved.

1154. >> Or if it's your young people and they're

1155. not saved, because you want them saved,

1156. you know what you want to do? You want

1157. to protect them from everything that you

  1158. possibly can. Amen.

1159. >> And let me say this. It's going to take

1160. resorting to methods that the world does

  1161. not approve of.

  1162. >> That's right.

1163. >> I mean, for I mean, and and you know,

1164. heaven forbid we say this, but the truth

1165. is you probably ought to turn the TV

  1166. off.

  1167. >> You're right.

  1168. >> They don't need a phone when they're 12.

1169. >> Somebody help the preacher. They don't

  1170. need a phone when they're 12 years old.

1171. They don't need a social media account

  1172. when they're 14. Amen. I'm saying the

  1173. only trouble that I could I couldn't get

1174. in in trouble at home.

1175. >> Come on. There was nothing to get in

  1176. trouble in at home.

1177. >> You know where I got in trouble at?

  1178. >> The schoolhouse.

1179. >> You know where my mind got messed up is

1180. on the phone at the schoolhouse. I

1181. didn't have one of my own.

1182. >> Send people down to the schoolhouse. And

1183. the thing about is let me remind you of

1184. something tonight. Okay? It's your

  1185. responsibility.

1186. You say, "Preacher, well, I DON'T WANT

1187. PEOPLE TO TALK." WELL, LET ME JUST SAY

1188. THIS. YOU BETTER LET THEM TALK. That's

  1189. >> right.

1190. >> Amen. Cuz if they're not talking, you

  1191. probably going with them.

  1192. >> You're right.

1193. >> Jesus said, "Marvel not that the world

  1194. hates you."

  1195. >> Yeah.

1196. >> Know that it hated me before it hated

1197. you. Amen. And the truth is right here

1198. on this message, what I'm telling you is

1199. people's going to have something to say.

  1200. That's

  1201. >> right.

1202. >> You notice in the text,

1203. Bible says, "If any man say ought," you

1204. look at the other accounts, there was a

1205. man, Mark chapter 11, he comes to them

    Mark 11 chapter mention

1206. said, "What are you doing with my

  1207. donkey?"

1208. You know what the world's going to do?

1209. They're going to say, "What are you

1210. doing with my child?" That's right.

1211. >> The world does not own your children.

1212. >> The school system doesn't own your

1213. children. Your friends don't own your

1214. children. This church don't own your

1215. children. You are responsible for your

  1216. children.

1217. >> You say, "How is that?" Well, let me

1218. just remind you of what's going on in

1219. our world today. Okay? I won't preach

1220. till I'm done. Okay? Y'all just get

1221. comfortable. I'm going to preach until I

1222. get done. I didn't preach this morning.

1223. So, I got two and a half hours loaded

  1224. up. Amen.

1225. >> You know what this world is telling us

1226. right now? What they're doing in liberal

1227. states all across this country? They are

1228. turning their children on their parents.

  1229. >> That's right.

1230. >> Trying to get them to mutilate

  1231. themselves.

  1232. >> That's right.

  1233. >> You think that this ain't this ain't

  1234. relevant? It's very relevant.

1235. >> Your children belong to you.

  1236. >> That's right.

  1237. >> They're not the governments. Amen.

  1238. >> That's right. It's it's not it's not for

1239. the governor to be telling our children

1240. that their parents are crazy, that

1241. they've lost their mind, and that you're

1242. really not a boy or you're really not a

1243. girl. SOME IF YOU CAN'T SAY AMEN ON

1244. NOTHING TONIGHT, YOU BETTER BLESS GOD.

1245. SAY AMEN ON THAT RIGHT THERE. IF YOUR

1246. CHILD IS A BOY AT BIRTH, HE'S STILL A

1247. BOY RIGHT NOW. IF YOUR CHILD IS A GIRL

  1248. AT BIRTH, HE'S STILL A SHE'S STILL A

1249. GIRL RIGHT NOW. IT DON'T MATTER HOW MANY

1250. SURGERIES THEY DO. IT DON'T MATTER HOW

1251. MUCH THEY MUTILATE THEIR BODY. THEY ARE

1252. WHAT GOD MADE THEM AND THERE AIN'T

1253. ENOUGH DOCTORS TO TAKE IT OUT OF THEM.

  1254. AMEN.

1255. >> You ought to be you. He's wanted.

1256. They're wanted by the Lord in spite of

  1257. the discouragement of others.

  1258. >> Right.

1259. >> Let me remind you of what Paul told

  1260. Timothy. 1 Timothy 4:12. Remember what

    1 Timothy 4:12

1261. he said. He said, "Let no man despise

  1262. thy youth." That's

  1263. >> right.

1264. >> You know why people despise youth? It's

1265. ignorance. That's the number one reason

1266. youth is despised because they don't

1267. they're not they're not tuned in on

1268. things. Your children ought to know and

1269. I'll say it again. They ought to know

  1270. everything that you know.

  1271. >> That's right.

  1272. >> Amen.

1273. >> You say, "Preacher, I'm trying to

1274. protect them." You need to let them know

1275. what wrong and right is.

1276. >> You say, "Preacher, I don't want to have

1277. that conversation about the gender

1278. neutral and all that stuff." But you

1279. somebody else will if you don't

1280. preach. If you don't tell them, somebody

1281. else will, AND THEY'LL BUY EVERY BIT OF

  1282. IT.

  1283. >> Come on, pre.

1284. >> You You You need to know they're wanted

1285. by the Lord. Paul said, he said, "Let no

1286. man despise thy youth, but be thou an

1287. example." You know how you don't let

1288. people despise your youth? You teach

1289. them to be the best young person they

  1290. could be.

1291. >> And you know what? I'm thankful, friend,

1292. that God God put it in my daddy's heart

1293. to teach me how to be a man. And I'm

1294. thankful that I've been able to have

1295. fellowship with men since my youth days

1296. because he taught me how to be a man

1297. when I was still a boy. And I could

1298. enjoy being around men that really love

1299. God and really loved their family. I

1300. didn't yoke up with all those men that

1301. were older than me that still acted like

1302. children. I wanted to be around a

1303. working man that his hands were dirty

1304. and greasy. I WANTED TO BE AROUND PEOPLE

1305. THAT REALLY LOVED THEIR FAMILY and

1306. really loved God. I COULD YOKE UP WITH

1307. THOSE PEOPLE. YOU OUGHT TO TEACH YOUR

1308. CHILDREN TO BE A man and BE A WOMAN, NOT

  1309. TO STAY CHILDREN FOREVER.

  1310. >> Because he's wanted, she's wanted by the

  1311. Lord.

1312. Give you this. I'm done. It's wanted by

1313. the Lord in spite of the discouragement

1314. of others. Let me say this. I want to

  1315. remind you.

1316. The desire of the Lord is singular.

1317. >> Notice what the text says again. Nobody

  1318. else wanted this donkey.

1319. Notice what the Bible says. Matthew

    Matthew 21:2

1320. 21:2, "You shall find an ashti and a

1321. coat with her, loose them, and bring

1322. them. If any man say all to you, you

1323. shall say, what's the verse say? The

1324. Lord hath made of them." Now, I don't

1325. know this from the text, but I'm going

1326. to give you a truth here. I want you to

1327. want you to know. Okay? More than

1328. likely, this young donkey was probably

  1329. going to be sold.

1330. Probably going to be sold. I don't know.

1331. He may have been kept around, but you

1332. understand how bloodlines and things

1333. like that work. You can't cross those

1334. over. And so, he couldn't stay around

  1335. with his mama.

1336. >> If his mama was the one that was pulling

1337. the plow and doing all the labor, that

1338. meant the little donkey had to go,

  1339. >> right?

1340. >> And so, probably in just a short time

1341. after he got big enough to go out on his

1342. own and do his own thing, that that

1343. meant he was probably going to be sold

1344. off. But you know what Jesus said? Above

1345. all of that, he said, "I need him."

  1346. >> That's right. Amen.

1347. >> Do you understand that nobody else

  1348. probably wanted him?

  1349. >> That's right.

  1350. >> Come on.

1351. >> You may not want your children. And God

1352. help you if you don't. But I tell you

  1353. this,

1354. >> the Lord wants them.

  1355. >> That's right.

1356. >> YOU SAY, "PREACHER, HOW DARE YOU SAY

1357. THAT? WE'RE SITTING IN A WORLD WHERE

1358. THEY'VE BEEN ABORTED BY THE MILLIONS."

1359. >> GOD WANTED EVERY ONE OF THEM BABIES THAT

1360. THEIR MAS DIDN'T WANT. GOD DESIRED EVERY

1361. ONE OF THEM BECAUSE HIS VALUES ON THE

1362. SOUL. AND WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF

1363. HE GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSE HIS OWN

1364. SOUL? IF WE LOSE THE CHILDREN OF THIS

1365. COUNTRY, IT'LL BE NOT BECAUSE GOD TURNED

1366. HIM OVER, BUT BECAUSE WE DID.

1367. >> HIS DESIRE FOR THEM. HE HAS NEED OF

1368. THEM. JESUS SAID, "It'd be better for a

1369. man that he offend ONE OF THESE

1370. CHILDREN, FOR A MILLSTONE TO BE HUNG

1371. ABOUT HIS NECK, AND TO BE CAST INTO THE

1372. DEPTHS OF THE SEA." GOD IS CONCERNED

  1373. ABOUT OUR CHILDREN,

  1374. >> RIGHT?

1375. Regardless of what others say or do, God

1376. desires. Listen to me, young people.

1377. Regardless of what YOUR FRIENDS SAY,

1378. REGARDLESS OF WHAT EVEN YOUR FAMILY

1379. SAYS, God wants you to serve it.

1380. >> And you don't have to do everything that

1381. the world says you have to do.

1382. >> Do what God says.

1383. >> Oh, child of God, do what God says.

1384. Parent, let teach your children to do

  1385. what God says. Amen.

1386. >> And teach your children

1387. that one of these days they might be

1388. more spiritual than you are.

  1389. >> Amen.

1390. >> And you tell them, you say, "If there

1391. ever comes a point in my life when I'm

1392. holding you back from the Lord, you make

1393. sure you go on with God." That's

  1394. >> right.

  1395. >> Amen. John, Mark,

1396. John and his brother. We read there in

1397. Mark's account, Mark chapter number one,

  1398. the Bible says Mark,

1399. they were John, James, they were in the

1400. f than the boat with their father

1401. Zebedee. I'll say this and I'll close

  1402. and Jesus came by.

1403. >> Remember what the Bible said? He said,

  1404. "Follow me." That's

  1405. >> right.

1406. >> And so, you know what they did? They

1407. left Zebedee in the boat with his nets,

1408. >> right? And what' they do? They went out

  1409. and follow Jesus.

1410. >> If I could say anything to a young

1411. person tonight, if your parents really

1412. love God, they want you to follow Jesus

  1413. more than anything else.

1414. >> They won't care where it takes you. They

1415. won't care what it costs them. They will

1416. want you to serve God more than anything

  1417. else.

1418. >> But I want to remind you again,

1419. you're not ready to be loosed yet.

  1420. >> Right. That's right.

  1421. >> You're not.

1422. >> But it's not your fault. You were made

  1423. to be a kid.

1424. >> You have to grow through this.

  1425. >> Amen.

1426. >> But I'll tell you this. If you'll allow

1427. that rope to train you one of these days

1428. when Jesus comes to get you,

1429. you know what? You won't fight him

  1430. >> right

1431. >> when he comes calling. And the first

1432. burden that you ought to ever bear ought

1433. to be the burden for the Lord of God,

  1434. Lord of glory. Amen.

1435. >> When he comes a call and you won't fight

1436. against him. Every head bowed and every

  1437. eye closed tonight.

1438. Talking about a cult for Christ. Let me

  1439. ask you something tonight

1440. in your life. Mom and dad,

1441. truth is none of us have ever been all

1442. that we should be. But I'll tell you

1443. this, tomorrow you can be more than you

  1444. were yesterday.

  1445. Tonight

1446. you can be more than you was last night.

1447. And I know your desire for your

  1448. children.

1449. You want them to serve God.

1450. I tell you this, they'll never serve God

  1451. unless you do.

1452. They'll never turn to God unless you do.

1453. You say, "Preacher, my children are

1454. done, grown, and gone." Preacher, I wish

1455. I would have done that.

  1456. I wish that I would have

  1457. showed them

1458. instead of a life full of

1459. inconsistencies and a life full of

  1460. unfaithfulness. Preacher, I wish that I

1461. could have led them to Jesus and

1462. accompanied them while they carried

  1463. Jesus.

1464. You said, "Preacher, would you pray for

1465. me? God to give me grace.

1466. Anybody be that honest tonight? You say,

1467. "Preacher, would you pray for me?"

1468. God knows your heart. Yes. Yes. God sees

1469. those hands. God sees those hands. I

  1470. tell you this,

1471. the best part about it is God's forgiven

1472. you. And I'll say this, you ought to

  1473. never stop praying.

1474. >> Amen. for that weward son, that weward

1475. daughter, those grandchildren. You ought

1476. to never stop praying. God, deal with

1477. their heart. Let me say this to those of

1478. you who's got young children.

1479. Maybe to this point, you've not invested

1480. in them as much as you should have.

1481. Maybe you ought to make up your mind.

1482. You going to invest in them.

1483. You say, "Preacher, how do I do that?"

1484. Well, you show them how to serve God by

  1485. serving God yourself.

  1486. >> Amen.

1487. When there's a ministry of the church

1488. going on, you be here.

1489. We're going door knockocking. You ought

1490. to be leading them, showing them how to

  1491. do that.

1492. You say, "Preacher, well, I'll do that

1493. on my own time." Well, let me let me ask

1494. you this. How can you expect them to

1495. ever win somebody to the Lord if you

1496. don't take them with you when you do it?

  1497. >> That's right.

1498. >> And let me say this to you young people.

1499. I know your parents, you've been given

  1500. good parents

1501. that love God and want to help you.

1502. They're not perfect. No parents ever

1503. have been. But let me tell you this, you

1504. need to be obedient to them.

1505. The Bible still says, "Honor thy father

  1506. and thy mother."

1507. You say, "Preacher, well, my family

1508. situation's not natural." Who the daddy

1509. in the home is and who the mama in the

1510. home is, that's who you honor.

  1511. because they love you.

  1512. They care for you.

1513. They're watching for your soul.

1514. And they want you to have what they

  1515. didn't have.

1516. They want you to be

1517. because of somebody else's sin what they

  1518. could not be.

1519. And you know what that's going to take?

1520. That's going to take you listening to

1521. them. That's going to take you obeying

1522. them, submitting to their authority

  1523. and just being faithful

  1524. to wear the rope.

  1525. It's not a burden, it's a blessing.

  1526. >> That's right. Father, I pray in Jesus

  1527. name.

1528. Lord, would you help us, God, to take

1529. these truths and apply them to our

  1530. hearts and lives?

1531. God, I know that our country has tried

1532. to redefine the marriage and redefine

1533. the home, what it is, and and say what

1534. it's not. They say what we're doing is

  1535. crazy.

1536. But Lord, I know what we're doing is

  1537. biblical.

1538. And so God, would you please keep us in

1539. the bounds of your word?

1540. God, help us to apply the principles of

1541. this message to our heart and life.

1542. We'll be thank be thankful for what you

1543. do. I pray God, every heart and life in

1544. this room was touched. And I pray they

  1545. were challenged

1546. because Lord, I'm challenged. I want to

1547. be better in every way. For my children,

1548. for my wife, and most of all for you.

1549. Would you help us do it, Lord? I pray in

  1550. Jesus name.

  1551. Amen.

1552. Thank you for joining our service today.
