>> Amen. And I'm thankful I heard his voice

one day. Amen. And I appreciate the good

singing tonight. Matthew's Gospel

chapter 21. If you have a Bible,

Matthew's Gospel, chapter number 21.

Find your place if you would stand on

rivers to the reading of God's word. Was

thinking about something while they

singing that. You know, I remember um

first got saved and remember, you know,

trying to discern the voice of God and

the voice of my flesh, the voice of the

devil in my life. And I I I've something

in that song reminded me of something

somebody said. I don't remember who told

me this, but but u the devil when he

talks to you, he's never personal.

>> That's right.

>> And uh you say, "What do you mean by

that?" Well, it's always you. You did

this. You did that.

>> You know, you know you're guilty of

this. You don't deserve that. When Jesus

speaks to you, it's personal.

>> Amen.

>> Hey, child. That's

>> right. Amen.

>> That text she's talking about. Amen.

Just a few short days, we'll celebrate

that resurrection. Jesus looked at Mary

and what did he do? He called her name.

>> Tell you, there's probably a lot of

people that um you look at Mary's life,

there's probably a lot of people that

took advantage of her that didn't know

her name. But I'll tell you, the one

that cared more about her than anything

>> knew her name. Amen. And I'm thankful I

know the voice of God by the way that he

speaks. Amen. Jesus said, he said, "My

sheep," he said, "they hear my voice and

they know me." Amen. And man, I thank

God for that. I appreciate the good

truth uh shared in that song uh on this

evening. Matthew's Gospel, chapter 21.

You found your place tonight.

>> Amen.

>> Amen. Let's let's read together here.

Look at these few verses. Going to read

down through verse number seven. And you

pray for me tonight. I just I really

wanted to share this this morning, but

God had other plans. And so, he knows

what we need better than I do. And I'd

rather him preach than me. Somebody say

amen. And uh but I really like it when

he helps me preach. Somebody say amen

right there. Let's look in the text.

Matthew 21:E number one. The Bible says,

"And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem,

and were come to Bethage unto the Mount

of Olives, then sent Jesus two

disciples, saying unto them, go into the

village over against you, and

straightway you shall find an ass tithe

and a cult with her. Loose them, and

bring them unto me. And if any man say

all unto you, you shall say, The Lord

hath need of them, and straightway he

will send them. All this was done, that

it might be fulfilled, which was spoken

by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the

daughter of Zion, behold, the king

cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon

an ass, and a cult the fo of an ass. In

verse six, the Bible says, "And the

disciples went and did as Jesus

commanded them and brought the ass and

the cold and put on them their clothes."

Notice that last phrase, "and they set

him there on." And uh I know we've heard

this text preached. You probably heard

this text preached every year around

this time of the year. This being Palm

Sunday, that is the celebration that's

going to take place in this text. And

I'm really not going to deal uh with the

context. And I know that's that's

crucifixion homalytically and

hermeneutically, but I'm going to give

you what God put on my heart. Amen. And

uh it's going to be good. It's going to

be uh it might be real good. It might be

real bad, but it's going to be real

either way. Amen. And you pray that God

will help us tonight. Let's pray.

Father, thank you for this truth

tonight. Thank you for the word of God

that you've given us, uh Lord, to look

into. And I pray, God, that you would

help us tonight as we've come to uh

gather around the word tonight. We need

your presence. We need your power, God.

I realize I can't preach, God, if you

don't help me. And so, God, I pray you'd

clothe me in my calling. Give me

uncction and liberty, God. I pray you'd

fill me with the Holy Ghost. Remove uh

any influence, God, that's otherworldly,

God, that does not belong uh to the word

of God and to the spirit of God. And I

pray you'd bind the devil and the forces

of hell, God. I pray for whatever needs

are present in this service tonight,

that all the will of God would be done

in every heart and life. I pray that you

would help us to receive with meekness

the engrafted word and to receive the

truth, God, that only you could give to

us in these days. Help us to be obedient

uh to the law tonight. Help us to uh

receive it with meekness, God. That'll

it'll help us. And I ask you, God,

tonight for whatever needs are present,

do your will. And Lord, I ask you, God,

once again, get glory to yourself. And

Lord, for what you do, we'll thank you

for it because we ask it in Jesus' name.

And God's children said,

>> "Thank you for standing. You can be

seated tonight. And I want to lay just a

few things on your heart by way of

introduction tonight. Today of course

being Palm Sunday, my mind often

migrates to this scripture and the

parallel scriptures. Here you look there

in Matthew 21 and in Mark chapter number

11 and uh Luke chapter number 19. John

12 deals with the triumphal entry of our

Lord. And every one of them has a

different perspective on this entrance

of our Lord. But I'm what interests me

about this is that every single one of

the gospel writers accord record this

event this time where our Lord enters

into Jerusalem. And I like Matthew's

account of it. But for Matthew has

presented Christ as the king. And he

emphasizes much the messianic prophecy

in verse number four and five. He

emphasizes that truth found in Zechariah

Zechariah 9 · chapter mention

chapter 9 and verse number nine that our

Lord would come and he would travel in

on that cult the f of an ass. And

there's a lot of preaching that I could

do on the text particularly this morning

concerning the coming of our Lord. But

I'll say this, we know that just as he

came the first time humble and lowly

riding upon this cult, amen, the fo of

an ass, we know that he's coming again.

And he won't be coming riding upon the

colt the fo of an ass, but he'll be

coming on a white horse. Somebody say

amen right there. And we know without a

shadow of a doubt that it's not going to

be very long before he comes again. And

I want to give you some truths out of

this text. I want you to notice by way

of introduction. Number one, the city

that are mentioned here. The Bible says,

"And when they drew nigh unto

Jerusalem." So Jesus is making his

journey toward the cross. Jerusalem of

course would be the place where he would

go to suffer and die. And I thought

about this. You know Christ would enter

Jerusalem on this cult. But you

understand he would exit Jerusalem with

the cross. Amen. He would be carried in

by this cult. But as he would go out, he

would be carrying his cross. And I'm

thankful, friend, that for the days in

our life, you understand there's days

when we carry Jesus and we do a good job

of expressing him to this world. We bear

his name. But aren't you thankful for

the days when we aren't able to carry

him, he's able to carry us. Amen. Oh

friend, that's good preaching tonight.

Amen. I notice not only the city in the

text as Jesus is headed to Jerusalem,

but I notice Christ in the text, he is

journeying with his disciples. Verse one

he said they were come to Bethage which

is Bethany unto the mount of olives and

the Bible says then sent Jesus two of

his disciples. So he has given them an

instruction here in the text Christ is

going to make his entrance in

fulfillment of prophecy there into

Jerusalem and they would throw the palm

branches down in front of him. In verse

number eight, that that great multitude

spread their garments in the way and

others cut down branches from the trees

and straw them in the way. Verse 9, and

the multitudes that went before and that

followed, cried, saying, hosana to the

son of David. Blessed is he that cometh

in the name of the Lord. Hosana in the

highest. And so EVERYBODY AROUND THIS

SITUATION is exalting Jesus. Amen. And I

don't know about you, but I like it when

he's central and he is preeminent. Amen.

And he's above all. Amen. And everybody

around is just looking to him. Hey, let

me say when he is exalted and he is

central, the best thing that can happen

in your LIFE FOR THE FELLOWSHIP between

you and your family, for the FELLOWSHIP

BETWEEN YOU AND THIS church is to allow

him to be central and to be the focal

point of everything that goes on.

>> Because you know what? As long as you're

looking around, you're going to

constantly find fault. But I'm thankful

nobody's ever found fault looking at

him. Amen. So he's coming in in this

text and I notice not only the city and

the Christ in the text but I noticed

this cult in the text and the Bible says

in verse number number one he sent two

of his disciples in verse two saying

unto them go over go into the village

over against you and straightway you

shall find an ashtie and a coat with her

loose them and bring them unto me. And I

was reading this text and God just began

to put some thoughts together in my mind

concerning this message. Now, I've

preached this message, preached a

message like this before, a totally

different way, talking about the donkey

that had God on him and how that God, he

supernaturally loosed him. He had to be

redeemed. He had to be bought so that he

could serve God. But I don't want to

take that angle looking at this tonight,

but I want to talk to you tonight if I

could. Not about what this cult had to

do to be made suitable. But I want to

preach to you for just a little while on

why this cult was suitable

>> to serve Christ. And I was thinking

about youth Sunday. I notice in this

text and and you say, "What does this

have to do with you Sunday?" Well,

John's account literally says that his

this cult was young. That's

>> right. John 12 and verse number 14. It's

a young colt. This is a yearling, so to

speak. It's a young donkey. And when I

was looking at this text, I I thought of

just a few things here. And let me give

you this and I'll get to the message. I

I'll say this. Number one, this donkey

was prophesied of.

>> You say, "How is that?" Well, notice the

book of Zechariah.

Zechariah chapter number nine. Listen to

what the prophet says concerning this

little cult. Zechariah chapter 9 and

Zechariah 9 · chapter mention

verse number nine. Rejoice greatly, oh

daughter of Zion. Shout, oh daughter of

Jerusalem. Behold, thy king cometh unto

thee. He is just and having salvation,

lowly and riding upon an ass. Notice

your Bible. And upon a cult, the fo of

an ash. So it was prophesied. And you

know what? In the mind of God, God knew

exactly which one it would be.

>> Amen. Boy, I'm thankful tonight, friend,

that God knows exactly who you are and

exactly where you're at. And he knows

exactly the plan that he has in mind for

your life. Amen. I'll say this. This

cult was prophesied of, but not only

this. This cult wasn't only prophesied

of, but he was promised. Listen to what

Jesus said to his disciples. He told

them, he said, "You go over into the

village over against you, and

straightway, what's them next three

words? Ye shall find." And you know

what? Where they went, they found

exactly what he said. You're

>> right.

>> There was a young cult tied. And I want

to say this, he wasn't only prophesied

of and he wasn't only promised, but I'll

say he was provided.

>> Right?

>> Mark 11 verse number five and 6 says

that the owner of this cult after he

questioned the disciples, he gave them.

He turned him over

>> to the Lord. Now, there's a lot of

preaching in that for young people, but

I'm going to give you the message

tonight. I wanted to highlight three

things on on this text tonight. I want

to title it this way. If we could call

it this. I want to call it a cult for

Christ.

A cult for Christ. And when I look at

this text, there's some things that I

notice about this cult. Three things in

particular, maybe four. I don't know if

we'll get that far tonight. But I notice

first of all in this text when I think

about this coat I want you to notice

first of all here in the text the Bible

says that he was waiting to be loosed.

Look what the Bible said in verse two.

Jesus sent two of his disciples saying

them go into the village over against

you and straightway what's your Bible

say? You shall find an ass what?

>> Tithed and a cult with her. Loose them

and bring them unto me. You say,

"Preacher, well, what's the emphasis of

that? What are you what's the point that

you want to make with that?" Well, I

think primarily in the text, you

understand this cult was confined. Now,

if you know anything about animals

tonight, and I know where we live, Amen.

Uh, in this part of the world, we know

much about animals. What I had to find

out the hard way about my little dog is

is that he needs a lot to stay in. Amen.

And so I just took him to Dustin's house

and he lives over there. Amen. And

instead of building a lot, I'm going to

get one eventually. Amen. But what I'm

saying is this. All right. Animals need

confinement. You're

>> right.

>> You say, "Well, what's the emphasis of

that?" Well, Jesus said, "You'll find

this colt tied." Is there'll be an ass

there and she'll be tied, but then

there'll be this colt there and he'll be

tied as well. And these these thoughts

began to run through my mind. Why was he

tied? Why was this cult tied up? And I

thought about this this cult waiting to

be loosed. I would say number one, he

was tied up for number one, for

provision.

>> You say, "What do you mean by that?"

Well, I would say he was tied up so he

could grow.

>> Amen.

>> I You say, "What? What's the answer to

that? If he got out, he could go out and

roam and eat what he wanted to." No.

Here's the thing about it. You need to

know about this climate. You see that

climate? It was desert.

>> There's nothing that grows there.

>> And if they were going to be fed,

somebody voluntarily had to feed them.

Amen. And so this cult is tied up in

this text for his own provision. You

say, "Well, why was he tied up?" Well,

let me just say this. God couldn't use

one that was wild,

>> right?

>> God had to use one had been kept up

with, been taken care of. And let me say

this to you young people. So you need to

embrace the fact that you are not ready

to be loosed yet.

>> Amen.

>> You say, "What do you mean, preacher?"

I'm saying, "As long as you are in your

parents' house, you are under their

authority. And it is their

responsibility to shield you and protect

you from some things that otherwise you

would be destroyed by if you were

allowed to run loose."

>> But let me say this. It's more than, and

I'm giving you the second point there.

Number one, provision. Number two,

protection. Not only that they could

grow but that so they could be guarded.

>> Let me say this. You are given the place

that you live the people that you live

with. So they are responsible for you.

They were responsible for your

nourishment. And we know this that as a

baby's not able to feed itself. A

teenager just because they can feed

themselves doesn't mean they have the

right amen to decide where they can feed

themselves.

>> I'm not talking about physically either.

>> Come on.

>> I'm not talking about food. You

shouldn't let your child decide where

you going to go to church. You're

>> right.

>> Amen. It is your responsibility as their

parent. This this this donkey was tied

up. He was waiting to be loose because

he NEEDED SOMEBODY TO PROVIDE HIS NEED.

BUT HE ALSO NEEDED SOMEBODY to protect

HIM BECAUSE IF HE GOT OUT, you know what

was going to happen to him? He would be

killed.

>> Right.

>> Loose animals were not treated kindly in

this culture. And so if he was to get

out, he would be taken out, so to speak.

And let me just remind you this. ALL

THAT THIS YOUNG CULT needed was right

where he was at. That's

>> right.

>> Oh, friend, somebody hear the preacher

tonight.

>> Let me say this. Everything that you

need, child, whatever age you are,

you'll find it at your house and you'll

find it at the church.

>> That's right.

>> All right. I'm going to try not to get

ahead of myself on this because I want

to emphasize this point. He was waiting

to be loosed. You see, Christ could not

use a wild cult. And and if it was wild,

it would have to be caught. But you see,

this cult was already tied up. You say,

"Preacher, what does that mean?" Well,

there's some things as a young person

you ought to be tied up in.

>> Right?

>> Amen.

>> Come on.

>> You ought to be tied up with your

parents.

>> Amen. I tell you this, there's nothing

better in this life than being close to

your mom and daddy that they gave you.

And I understand not everybody has that.

If you do, you ought to thank God for

it. Amen. But you ought to be tied up

with your parents. You ought to be tied

up with the people of God. Your best

friends in this world ought to be in

this building right now.

>> You say, "How is that?" Well, let me

just say this. I know the quality of

what's here.

>> And your parents, they want you to be

involved in what's going on down at the

house of God because they're trying to

protect you. But not only that, they're

trying to provide for you. I'll say

this, there's people in the church

that'll do you wrong. But I'll say this.

I'd rather be safe in the house of God

around people that love me than out in

the world where people that hate my guts

and don't care nothing about me. I'D

RATHER BE TIED UP HERE THAN LOOSE OUT

THERE. AMEN.

>> You see, this cult was acceptable. He

was easy to find because he was tied up.

>> He was tied up so he could grow. Peter

said this way. He closed out his second

epistle. He said, "But grow in grace in

the knowledge of our Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ." And that growth in your

life is going to happen at the church.

You're

>> right.

>> Amen. You need to be tied up the church.

>> Oh friend, that's good tonight.

>> You need to be tied up in the word of

God. You need to be tied up in the

church for your provision. But I'll say

this concerning your protection. The

home that you are in. The church that

you are at is a haven for your growth

and for your garden. And let me say it

again. You are not ready to be loosed

yet.

>> Right?

>> You say, "Preacher, well, I'm 18." That

doesn't mean that you're ready to be

loosed yet.

And I know it ain't popular, but I'm

going to preach it anyway. If they're

living under your roof, they are under

your authority. And if you allow them to

walk over you, that's your fault.

>> Amen. You say, "Preacher, you try to

preach that when your children get 18."

I intend on preaching it. Because let me

tell you something, friend. If I don't

raise them by that book, the devil's

gonna come after them before he'll come

after any OF YOUR KIDS. WHY IS THAT?

BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU THE

TRUTH.

HE WANTS THEM more than anybody CUZ HE

KNOWS IF HE CAN TAKE THEM, HE CAN

undermine what I have to preach.

>> And so, friend, you better believe I'm

going to preach it. They're going to be

tied UP. YOU SAY, "WHAT DOES THAT

translate to?" Sheltered.

>> Amen.

>> Amen, FRIEND. SHELTERED. I'M SAYING,

FRIEND, HEY, THE WORLD CAN FROWN ON IT.

Y'ALL a bunch of fanatics. WELL, I'LL

TELL YOU THIS. I'D RATHER THEM BE CLOSE

to Jesus and LOVE GOD AND LOVE THEIR

FAMILY THAN THEM KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT

THIS WORLD. THE WORLD CAN SAY THEY'RE

SHELTER. THE WORLD CAN SAY WE'RE THEY'RE

WE'RE CRAZY. BUT WHEN THEY AIN'T GOT

TATTOOS RUNNING UP THEIR ARM AND SHOT

MARKS IN THEIR ARM OR THEY'VE BEEN

SHOOTING UP DOPE AND EVERYTHING ELSE

WHEN THEY AIN'T NEVER DRUNK A JOB AND

THEY AIN'T NEVER FORNICATED, LOST THEIR

PURITY. I'D RATHER THEM BE PRESERVED

DOWN AT THE HOUSE OF GOD. AMEN.

>> He was tied up. He was waiting to be

loosed. Let me say this. Get to the next

point. It's it's a good thing for your

children to learn responsibility. You

say, "Well, they need a job." If you

can't supervise that, I'd be careful

with that.

>> Come on. Come on.

>> There's a man that I know. I don't know

him very well, but his children, he was

a preacher and had some other

accusations come out on him, but he

allowed his children to go get a job in

a shopping mall.

And uh time went on. You watched his

children. It seemed that they their

their social media, that was another

thing. Amen. And if they're under 18

years old, they don't need all that

garbage. Amen.

>> But their ch his children, he he gave

them a job in a shopping mall. And what

happened is those liberals and leftists

in that shopping mall turned the minds

of his children. That's

>> right.

>> He lost them. And they run off. His boy

had a boy and a daughter and they run

off and left him. They started looking

like the world, acting like the world,

and dressing like the world because he

allowed them to have a job. Well, they

need some responsibility. You better be

careful. They may not be ready for that.

>> That's right.

Amen. You see, you're preparing them for

something.

>> You're right.

>> And I I I put this out there, too. You

could put it in the text. Amen. He He

was kept He was tied up for his

provision. He was tied up for his

protection. And I'll say this, he was

tied up for his preparation. That's

>> right.

>> You see, he had a job he was going to

have to do. That's

>> right.

>> Amen. And one of these days when that

job come to do, he needed to be ready

for that.

>> Amen.

>> Oh, friend, that's good. Tonight, let's

look at this. Second of all, I see not

only this cult was waiting to be loosed,

he was ready when they came to him. But

let me say this. Second of all, not only

he was waiting to be loosed, number two,

he was willing to be led.

Willing to be led. Notice the verse.

Verse two again. He said unto them, "Go

into the village over against you.

Straight way you shall find an asset

tied and a cult with her. Loose them."

What's that last phrase? And bring them

unto me. Notice verse seven or verse

six. And the disciples went and did as

Jesus commanded them. Verse 7, and

brought the ass and the colt. So, you

know what? This this donkey here, the

mother, and then this young colt here,

uh her son were brought by these

disciples unto Jesus. And I I this this

partic the reason that I've chosen this

particular account of this story is for

this reason. This is the only account of

this story where Jesus when he was

riding in on this cult that there's not

just one donkey mentioned. When you look

at Mark 11, Luke 19, and John 12, all

that you find mentioned is this cult.

But in Matthew's gospel, you find

mention that his mother is there with

him.

>> You say, "What does that have to do?"

Well, I say this in this thought,

willing to be led. The Bible says Jesus

told them to bring them. Verse seven,

the disciples brought them. So that

emphasizes the fact that they were

willing to go. All right? They were

ready to go. Now, let me say this.

Number one, in this thought that they

were willing to be led. Number one,

there is the example of the elk. You

say, "What do you mean?" Well, notice

the text again. Verse number two, ye

shall find an asset tide. That's a

female.

>> Ye shall find an asset tide and a cult

with her. Verse number seven. And they

brought the axe and the coat. You're

>> right.

>> So there's the example of the arrow. You

say, "What is that?" Well, if you know

anything about animals, when you

separate a mother and its baby, most

time it don't end well.

>> Right?

>> Amen. I read one writer said this said

that, you know, Jesus when they put him

on that coat, it was amazing that his

mother didn't get upset by this. Well,

I'll tell you the reason why his mother

didn't get upset. that that mother

donkey didn't get upset because that she

was watching her son bear the same

burden that she had borne.

>> That's right.

>> Oh friend,

>> come on.

>> Is anybody in the building?

>> You say, "What's the example of the

elder?" You see, this is in this

account. It reveals that this mother was

brought

first. Notice the order.

Ye shall find an asset tide and the colt

with her. Verse seven. and they brought

the ash and the colt. Now, isn't that

interesting? You say, "What's

interesting about that?" Well, it it

implies that the mother was leading.

>> You're right.

>> You say, "What is that?" Well, she was

faithful to follow those disciples. You

see, this mother was brought so the cult

could follow her.

>> That's right.

>> Let me ask you this. If we were to go to

where you're at, mama or daddy, would we

find your children there? Come on.

>> I'm not talking about locationally. I'm

talking about spiritually.

>> You're right.

>> It is your job to bring them along.

>> You're right.

>> It is your job to make sure that they're

nourished spiritually. You say,

"Preacher, should my children be as far

along as I am? They should know

everything that you know about God.

>> You should teach them every truth about

Jesus that you know. If you learn

something, you ought to share it to

them. If God shows you something, they

ought to know about it. You ought not

hide it from them because you are

responsible for their spiritual

condition. And you will answer to God

for what you teach that child. That's

>> right.

>> This donkey was brought to Jesus first

and the cult was to follow behind. She

is the leader led by the Lord. Let me

ask you this. If your children follow

you as they should, will it will they be

brought to Jesus? Come on.

>> IF YOUR CHILDREN FOLLOW YOU, if they

follow your life, if they follow your

faith, will they be brought to Jesus?

>> Amen.

>> The truth is, and I I think many of our

lives, we have a facade of godliness on

the outside, but we are refusing to

embrace the burden of being the leader

in the home. YOU SEE, IT'S OUR

RESPONSIBILITY TO TEACH THEM,

>> RIGHT?

>> My dad embraced this. I remember I was

in middle school and and and I was in

public school. And look, I'm not telling

you what to do tonight. I'm not telling

you this is the only way to do it. But

I'll tell you, this is what God had to

do in our life. And I've told the church

this before, but I remember dad embraced

this. Dad embraced what Moses said.

>> Come on.

>> He said, "You shall teach them when you

walk by the way, when y'all sit in your

house, when you lie in your bed." And

basically what Moses was telling the

children of Israel, everywhere you go

and in everything that you do, you ought

to be teaching them. That's

>> right.

>> And this is what daddy told me. He said,

"I embraced that." And God was telling

me, "If you're at public school, I can't

influence you."

>> You're right.

>> If you're somewhere else being

influenced by somebody else or something

else, look, I know it's not popular

tonight, but I'll tell you this. I'm

thankful he did it when he did because,

man, I'm telling you, the voices of this

world and the voices of the wicked one

himself were trying to take me away. And

it TOOK HIM A TIME TO GET THEIR VOICE,

GOD'S VOICE, LOUDER INTO my life than

what that voice of the WORLD HAD BEEN

FOR SO LONG. BUT BOY, I'M THANKFUL THAT

HE embraced it and he brought me BACK

HOME. AND FRIEND, HEY, I DIDN'T LIKE IT.

I didn't like BEING TIED UP WHERE I'D

BEEN LET LOOSE FOR SO LONG. BUT FRIEND,

AFTER A WHILE, I BECAME ACCUSTOMED TO

THAT ROPE ON MY LIFE. YOU SAY,

"PREACHER, THAT'S BONDAGE." NO, FRIEND,

IT'S FREEDOM. IT'S FREEDOM IN JESUS

CHRIST. IT'S PEACE AND IT'S JOY. BEING

KEPT FROM THE SIN, BEING KEPT FROM THE

SUFFERING, BEING KEPT FROM ALL THE

WICKED AND EVIL, UNGODLY THINGS OF THIS

WORLD THAT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO,

>> RIGHT?

>> Because he embraced what the Bible said.

>> You say, "Preacher, that's Old

Testament." Well, let me ask you

something. Is it any less true?

>> That's right.

>> You're commanded to teach your children

every hour of every day.

>> You're right.

>> That's what that says. You say,

"Preacher, I can't literally teach

them." That's not the principle. They're

supposed to be watching how you live.

You're

>> right.

>> Amen. And if they can't watch how you

live, and here here's the sad thing. All

right. We I know people that ship their

children off to Christian school and

things of that nature. A lot of people

in this church do that, that's great.

I'd have no problem with that. But the

reason they do that is because they want

them to turn out better than they did.

>> And that's sad. You say, "How is that?"

I'm saying, friend, you ought to be the

best, most utmost character in their

life.

>> You're right.

>> You ought to be the most godly person

that your children know.

>> You're right.

>> And as far I'll be I'll be completely

transparent with you tonight. As far as

people that I know love God and want to

walk with God, my mom and daddy are the

top to me.

>> Amen.

>> And I'd say that in front of them. I'll

say it behind their back. And I bless

the name of God for that. My daddy will

tell you he's not the best preacher.

He's not the best pastor. He tells me

all the time, "Son, you're going to go

so much farther than I ever have. I ever

will because you got so much more than

what I have." But I look at him and I

say, "I just want what you got. I JUST

WANT TO LOVE GOD THE WAY YOU LOVE GOD. I

JUST WANT TO LOVE THE CHURCH AND LOVE MY

WIFE THE WAY THAT YOU DO. I'M SAYING,

FRIEND, YOU OUGHT TO BE THE MOST GODLY

PERSON IN YOUR CHILDREN'S LIVES."

>> The ass was first.

And then notice not only the

the example of the elder, but notice the

employment of the younger. Listen to me

here, parents. Listen to me, young

people. Notice what your Bible says.

Bible said in verse two, "Ye shall find

an ass tie in the coat with her. Loose

them. Bring them unto me." They're both

brought to Jesus. Verse 6 and 7. And the

Bible said in verse 7, "And they brought

the ass in the cold and put on them

their clothes, and they set him there

on." Now, we could look at all the other

accounts tonight, and here's what you'd

find. Some would say, you know, well,

they brought that mother donkey because

she was bigger and so Jesus must have

been set upon her. But if you look at

all the other accounts as well as the

prophet of Zechariah 9, it all implies

that Jesus rode upon the little one.

>> He was a little male.

And I thought about this in this text.

You see, the employment of the younger

and all of these gospel records state

that that the cult carried Jesus. And

and and so I I thought about this. You

you say, "Well, what was the reason for

that?" Well, I would say number one,

prophecy was the reason. It was a cult

that Zachariah prophesied of that would

carry him. But I'll say this, it was I

believe it was the purpose of God in

this text. And it fits this illustration

for this reason. You see, this older

donkey had been used for labor.

Listen to me. This older donkey had been

used for labor. Now, if you know

anything about Jewish history, meal work

was a big thing in Jewish history. And

they would use these donkeys. They would

tie them to a power wheel. Some would

have they would have two, some would

have four. And what they would do is

they would turn a big turntable that

would drive the meal. That's right.

>> More than likely, this donkey probably

did something like that. But I will say

this, if she didn't work uh if she

wasn't used in a meal, she would be used

for pulling wagons and and plows. And

and I thought about this. She she she

was she was used to labor. That's

obviously why she was tied. She has

birthed this cult. And uh so this cult

is being brought up. But I thought about

this truth. According to what the Bible

says, this cult had never done any

labor. Notice Mark chapter 11.

Mark 11 · chapter mention

Mark chapter number 11.

Donkeys were primarily animals. They

were beast of burden. They were used to

ride upon.

Listen to what Jesus said. Markap 11.

Listen to Mark's account of this story.

Mark 11 and verse two. He sendeth forth

two of his disciples, say them, "Go your

way into the village over against you,

and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye

shall find a colt tied." What's that

phrase? Where on man sat,

>> right?

>> Loose him and bring him. You say, "Well,

what's the emphasis of that? This donkey

had never been used,

>> right?

>> This donkey's never labored. This

donkey's never had to work. He has never

had the burden on him that his mother

had.

>> That's right.

>> And you say, "Preacher, what's the

emphasis of that?" Well, it can be

summed up in this work, this truth right

here. The first work that this donkey

did was carry the Lord.

>> Amen.

>> Listen to what I'm going to tell you. If

you miss everything else that I say to

you tonight, do not miss what I'm going

to tell you right now. The first work,

are you listening?

>> Yes. The first work that your child that

any child should be involved in is not

the work in your yard. It's not the work

at home, but it's the work of the Lord.

>> You're right.

>> Before everything else, they shouldn't

have a job before they have a have have

something to do at the house of God.

That's

>> right. If they've never worked for the

Lord in some form or fashion, if they've

never went on visitation, if they never

went sewing, if they've never helped

with Bible school, if they've never

assisted in a Sunday school class, I'm

saying the first work that a child

should ever do is the work for the Lord.

>> Amen.

>> You see, his mama, of course, she

probably could have carried the load

better,

>> right?

>> Wouldn't we agree with that? But let me

say this, that donkey had to learn.

That's

>> right.

>> The same way mama did.

>> Amen.

>> And you know what? They brought mama

there. He comes along behind and what

does he do? She doesn't bear the Lord.

But you know what she does? She

accompanies him.

>> That's right.

>> As he does the work of the Lord. Right.

>> And let me give you some hope tonight,

mama, daddy, wherever you're at. Just

because whatever labor, whatever sin and

toil in your life has brought you does

not mean that you cannot see your

children thrive for Jesus.

>> That's right.

>> Amen. Amen.

>> Is anybody in the building?

>> Amen.

>> I don't know about you, but that's the

greatest thing. Amen.

>> Amen.

>> The sin that you've been dealt with

because of somebody else's decisions,

because of somebody else's failures, and

I'm sitting in a room where people I

know have broken homes and broken lives.

LET ME SAY TO YOU, CHILD OF GOD, MAMA,

DADDY, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR

CHILDREN CANNOT SERVE GOD.

>> BUT IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TEACH

THEM, TO LEAD THEM. AND WHEN IT'S THEIR

TIME TO SERVE GOD, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU

NEED TO DO? YOU NEED TO GET RIGHT BESIDE

OF THEM AND WALK WITH THEM. IS ANYBODY

IN THE BUILDING TONIGHT? YOU NEED TO

STAY AT THEIR SIDE AND ENCOURAGE THEM.

AMEN.

>> AMEN.

>> The first work you should be involved in

is the Lord's work.

>> Amen.

>> And let me say this to you young people.

Before you can be loosed, you've got to

be willing to be led. Right?

>> If you are a constant pull against that

rope in your life, if you're constantly

against what your parents are trying to

teach you, they've got a right not to

let you go.

>> That's right.

>> Until an animal can stand in the barn

with that rope, that yoke loose, that

rope loose. Until they can stand there

and allow that rope to hold them and not

be pulling against it and fighting

against it, you know what you do? You

don't untie. That's

>> right.

We had show cows growing up and I

remember it man I I we we'd get those

bottle calves and man we we would lose I

mean I'm telling you we go down there to

the farm show and we'd have them bottle

cavs that we've raised ourselves and you

know other people they've spent 20 30

$40,000 on the champion bloodline simmon

tall. Amen. We show up with our little

black baldy mixed up thing. Amen. And

show up in there. We've raised on a

bottle and we fought with them. But you

know what? From the time that they were

a baby, you know what we'd do? We'd take

that halter and put on and tie them off.

That's right.

>> And every once in a while, we'd go and

untie them. And you know what we do?

We'd lead them around.

>> That's right.

>> But until they would get to where we

could lead them, you know what we do?

We'd leave them tied up. That's

>> right.

>> You are not ready to be loosed

>> if you're not willing to be led.

>> Amen.

>> You are not ready to be loosed if you're

not willing to be led.

>> Right.

>> I'll give you this and I'm done.

And this is the best part. Amen. You

see, this donkey was waiting to be

loose. This donkey was willing to be

led. He's brought there.

None of the gospel accounts say anything

about him bucking under the load. And

you know, the only the master of the

wind and ways was riding him. That's

>> right.

>> I mean, if there was any bit of will in

him that would rar up against the Lord,

you know what? Jesus didn't even have to

say nothing. He just

>> Right.

>> Amen.

Let me say this. If you have a child

that's going that's that's fought

against the rope their entire life, you

know what they probably need? They

probably need Jesus.

>> Right?

>> If they won't listen to you and if they

have they've spurned every bit of truth

that you've tried to tell them, it's

probably because they need Jesus.

>> Right?

>> If they don't submit, that's that that

does not mean it's your fault, mama.

does not mean it's your fault, Daddy.

And the thing about it is is, you know,

and I've I've seen this with parents,

and I I don't know why I'm just hanging

on this, but you say, "Preacher, well,

you've never raised children." Well, I

haven't, but I've been one.

>> That's right.

>> And I and I thought about I thought

about what I went through. I know I was

saved by the grace of God and the

brokenness of my heart and my rebellion.

I didn't enjoy those days. Right?

>> But if your child enjoys being in

rebellion to you,

>> they just need Jesus,

>> right?

>> And you know what you need to do? You

don't need to let them loose,

>> right?

>> Cuz Jesus needs to be the first thing

they carry.

>> Amen.

>> Needs to be the first burden they bear.

Notice this and I'm done.

We see he was waiting to be loosed. He

was willing to be led. Number three.

Number three, I'll say this. He was

wanted by the Lord.

Notice what your Bible says again. Verse

two, he said, "Ye shall find an asht

tied and a coat with her. Loose them and

bring them unto me." Verse three, "And

if any man say ought unto you, ye shall

say, what's that phrase? The Lord hath

need of him." And let me say this to

you. I don't know, you know, I don't

know your situation. I don't know your

family life. I don't know any of that.

This is what I can tell you across the

board. God wants them.

>> Amen. He wants your children. He wants

you.

>> But he wants your children.

>> That's right.

>> But I thought about this. You notice in

that text, and I'm staying right in the

text with this. Okay. Number one, I

would say this. They were wanted by the

Lord in spite of the discouragement of

others.

>> You're right.

>> You say, "What do you mean in spite of

the discouragement of others?" Well,

notice what Jesus said. He said in verse

three, "And if any man say ought unto

you," you know, people's going to have

stuff to say about your children,

>> right?

>> Amen.

>> Trying to serve God. You trying to raise

them right? You better believe there's

somebody going to say something.

>> You say, "Preacher, but but but but but

I don't want them to be offended.

>> I don't want my children to suffer

because of my standard."

>> I'll tell you what, they'll suffer a lot

more because of your sin than they will

your standard.

>> Did anybody hear what I just said?

>> They'll suffer a lot more because of

your sin

>> than they will because of that standard.

>> You can't build a fence too high. That's

>> right. You can't do it. You say,

"Preacher, well, we're not going to be a

legalist." No. Let me let me tell you

what a legalist is. That's adding works

to salvation.

>> That's right.

>> What do we believe about salvation?

Salvation's by grace through faith.

>> That's it.

>> We don't add any works to salvation. But

you know what? Because they are saved.

>> Or if it's your young people and they're

not saved, because you want them saved,

you know what you want to do? You want

to protect them from everything that you

possibly can. Amen.

>> And let me say this. It's going to take

resorting to methods that the world does

not approve of.

>> That's right.

>> I mean, for I mean, and and you know,

heaven forbid we say this, but the truth

is you probably ought to turn the TV

off.

>> You're right.

>> They don't need a phone when they're 12.

>> Somebody help the preacher. They don't

need a phone when they're 12 years old.

They don't need a social media account

when they're 14. Amen. I'm saying the

only trouble that I could I couldn't get

in in trouble at home.

>> Come on. There was nothing to get in

trouble in at home.

>> You know where I got in trouble at?

>> The schoolhouse.

>> You know where my mind got messed up is

on the phone at the schoolhouse. I

didn't have one of my own.

>> Send people down to the schoolhouse. And

the thing about is let me remind you of

something tonight. Okay? It's your

responsibility.

You say, "Preacher, well, I DON'T WANT

PEOPLE TO TALK." WELL, LET ME JUST SAY

THIS. YOU BETTER LET THEM TALK. That's

>> right.

>> Amen. Cuz if they're not talking, you

probably going with them.

>> You're right.

>> Jesus said, "Marvel not that the world

hates you."

>> Yeah.

>> Know that it hated me before it hated

you. Amen. And the truth is right here

on this message, what I'm telling you is

people's going to have something to say.

That's

>> right.

>> You notice in the text,

Bible says, "If any man say ought," you

look at the other accounts, there was a

man, Mark chapter 11, he comes to them

said, "What are you doing with my

donkey?"

You know what the world's going to do?

They're going to say, "What are you

doing with my child?" That's right.

>> The world does not own your children.

>> The school system doesn't own your

children. Your friends don't own your

children. This church don't own your

children. You are responsible for your

children.

>> You say, "How is that?" Well, let me

just remind you of what's going on in

our world today. Okay? I won't preach

till I'm done. Okay? Y'all just get

comfortable. I'm going to preach until I

get done. I didn't preach this morning.

So, I got two and a half hours loaded

up. Amen.

>> You know what this world is telling us

right now? What they're doing in liberal

states all across this country? They are

turning their children on their parents.

>> That's right.

>> Trying to get them to mutilate

themselves.

>> That's right.

>> You think that this ain't this ain't

relevant? It's very relevant.

>> Your children belong to you.

>> That's right.

>> They're not the governments. Amen.

>> That's right. It's it's not it's not for

the governor to be telling our children

that their parents are crazy, that

they've lost their mind, and that you're

really not a boy or you're really not a

girl. SOME IF YOU CAN'T SAY AMEN ON

NOTHING TONIGHT, YOU BETTER BLESS GOD.

SAY AMEN ON THAT RIGHT THERE. IF YOUR

CHILD IS A BOY AT BIRTH, HE'S STILL A

BOY RIGHT NOW. IF YOUR CHILD IS A GIRL

AT BIRTH, HE'S STILL A SHE'S STILL A

GIRL RIGHT NOW. IT DON'T MATTER HOW MANY

SURGERIES THEY DO. IT DON'T MATTER HOW

MUCH THEY MUTILATE THEIR BODY. THEY ARE

WHAT GOD MADE THEM AND THERE AIN'T

ENOUGH DOCTORS TO TAKE IT OUT OF THEM.

AMEN.

>> You ought to be you. He's wanted.

They're wanted by the Lord in spite of

the discouragement of others.

>> Right.

>> Let me remind you of what Paul told

Timothy. 1 Timothy 4:12. Remember what

1 Timothy 4:12

he said. He said, "Let no man despise

thy youth." That's

>> right.

>> You know why people despise youth? It's

ignorance. That's the number one reason

youth is despised because they don't

they're not they're not tuned in on

things. Your children ought to know and

I'll say it again. They ought to know

everything that you know.

>> That's right.

>> Amen.

>> You say, "Preacher, I'm trying to

protect them." You need to let them know

what wrong and right is.

>> You say, "Preacher, I don't want to have

that conversation about the gender

neutral and all that stuff." But you

somebody else will if you don't

preach. If you don't tell them, somebody

else will, AND THEY'LL BUY EVERY BIT OF

IT.

>> Come on, pre.

>> You You You need to know they're wanted

by the Lord. Paul said, he said, "Let no

man despise thy youth, but be thou an

example." You know how you don't let

people despise your youth? You teach

them to be the best young person they

could be.

>> And you know what? I'm thankful, friend,

that God God put it in my daddy's heart

to teach me how to be a man. And I'm

thankful that I've been able to have

fellowship with men since my youth days

because he taught me how to be a man

when I was still a boy. And I could

enjoy being around men that really love

God and really loved their family. I

didn't yoke up with all those men that

were older than me that still acted like

children. I wanted to be around a

working man that his hands were dirty

and greasy. I WANTED TO BE AROUND PEOPLE

THAT REALLY LOVED THEIR FAMILY and

really loved God. I COULD YOKE UP WITH

THOSE PEOPLE. YOU OUGHT TO TEACH YOUR

CHILDREN TO BE A man and BE A WOMAN, NOT

TO STAY CHILDREN FOREVER.

>> Because he's wanted, she's wanted by the

Lord.

Give you this. I'm done. It's wanted by

the Lord in spite of the discouragement

of others. Let me say this. I want to

remind you.

The desire of the Lord is singular.

>> Notice what the text says again. Nobody

else wanted this donkey.

Notice what the Bible says. Matthew

Matthew 21:2

21:2, "You shall find an ashti and a

coat with her, loose them, and bring

them. If any man say all to you, you

shall say, what's the verse say? The

Lord hath made of them." Now, I don't

know this from the text, but I'm going

to give you a truth here. I want you to

want you to know. Okay? More than

likely, this young donkey was probably

going to be sold.

Probably going to be sold. I don't know.

He may have been kept around, but you

understand how bloodlines and things

like that work. You can't cross those

over. And so, he couldn't stay around

with his mama.

>> If his mama was the one that was pulling

the plow and doing all the labor, that

meant the little donkey had to go,

>> right?

>> And so, probably in just a short time

after he got big enough to go out on his

own and do his own thing, that that

meant he was probably going to be sold

off. But you know what Jesus said? Above

all of that, he said, "I need him."

>> That's right. Amen.

>> Do you understand that nobody else

probably wanted him?

>> That's right.

>> Come on.

>> You may not want your children. And God

help you if you don't. But I tell you

this,

>> the Lord wants them.

>> That's right.

>> YOU SAY, "PREACHER, HOW DARE YOU SAY

THAT? WE'RE SITTING IN A WORLD WHERE

THEY'VE BEEN ABORTED BY THE MILLIONS."

>> GOD WANTED EVERY ONE OF THEM BABIES THAT

THEIR MAS DIDN'T WANT. GOD DESIRED EVERY

ONE OF THEM BECAUSE HIS VALUES ON THE

SOUL. AND WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF

HE GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSE HIS OWN

SOUL? IF WE LOSE THE CHILDREN OF THIS

COUNTRY, IT'LL BE NOT BECAUSE GOD TURNED

HIM OVER, BUT BECAUSE WE DID.

>> HIS DESIRE FOR THEM. HE HAS NEED OF

THEM. JESUS SAID, "It'd be better for a

man that he offend ONE OF THESE

CHILDREN, FOR A MILLSTONE TO BE HUNG

ABOUT HIS NECK, AND TO BE CAST INTO THE

DEPTHS OF THE SEA." GOD IS CONCERNED

ABOUT OUR CHILDREN,

>> RIGHT?

Regardless of what others say or do, God

desires. Listen to me, young people.

Regardless of what YOUR FRIENDS SAY,

REGARDLESS OF WHAT EVEN YOUR FAMILY

SAYS, God wants you to serve it.

>> And you don't have to do everything that

the world says you have to do.

>> Do what God says.

>> Oh, child of God, do what God says.

Parent, let teach your children to do

what God says. Amen.

>> And teach your children

that one of these days they might be

more spiritual than you are.

>> Amen.

>> And you tell them, you say, "If there

ever comes a point in my life when I'm

holding you back from the Lord, you make

sure you go on with God." That's

>> right.

>> Amen. John, Mark,

John and his brother. We read there in

Mark's account, Mark chapter number one,

the Bible says Mark,

they were John, James, they were in the

f than the boat with their father

Zebedee. I'll say this and I'll close

and Jesus came by.

>> Remember what the Bible said? He said,

"Follow me." That's

>> right.

>> And so, you know what they did? They

left Zebedee in the boat with his nets,

>> right? And what' they do? They went out

and follow Jesus.

>> If I could say anything to a young

person tonight, if your parents really

love God, they want you to follow Jesus

more than anything else.

>> They won't care where it takes you. They

won't care what it costs them. They will

want you to serve God more than anything

else.

>> But I want to remind you again,

you're not ready to be loosed yet.

>> Right. That's right.

>> You're not.

>> But it's not your fault. You were made

to be a kid.

>> You have to grow through this.

>> Amen.

>> But I'll tell you this. If you'll allow

that rope to train you one of these days

when Jesus comes to get you,

you know what? You won't fight him

>> right

>> when he comes calling. And the first

burden that you ought to ever bear ought

to be the burden for the Lord of God,

Lord of glory. Amen.

>> When he comes a call and you won't fight

against him. Every head bowed and every

eye closed tonight.

Talking about a cult for Christ. Let me

ask you something tonight

in your life. Mom and dad,

truth is none of us have ever been all

that we should be. But I'll tell you

this, tomorrow you can be more than you

were yesterday.

Tonight

you can be more than you was last night.

And I know your desire for your

children.

You want them to serve God.

I tell you this, they'll never serve God

unless you do.

They'll never turn to God unless you do.

You say, "Preacher, my children are

done, grown, and gone." Preacher, I wish

I would have done that.

I wish that I would have

showed them

instead of a life full of

inconsistencies and a life full of

unfaithfulness. Preacher, I wish that I

could have led them to Jesus and

accompanied them while they carried

Jesus.

You said, "Preacher, would you pray for

me? God to give me grace.

Anybody be that honest tonight? You say,

"Preacher, would you pray for me?"

God knows your heart. Yes. Yes. God sees

those hands. God sees those hands. I

tell you this,

the best part about it is God's forgiven

you. And I'll say this, you ought to

never stop praying.

>> Amen. for that weward son, that weward

daughter, those grandchildren. You ought

to never stop praying. God, deal with

their heart. Let me say this to those of

you who's got young children.

Maybe to this point, you've not invested

in them as much as you should have.

Maybe you ought to make up your mind.

You going to invest in them.

You say, "Preacher, how do I do that?"

Well, you show them how to serve God by

serving God yourself.

>> Amen.

When there's a ministry of the church

going on, you be here.

We're going door knockocking. You ought

to be leading them, showing them how to

do that.

You say, "Preacher, well, I'll do that

on my own time." Well, let me let me ask

you this. How can you expect them to

ever win somebody to the Lord if you

don't take them with you when you do it?

>> That's right.

>> And let me say this to you young people.

I know your parents, you've been given

good parents

that love God and want to help you.

They're not perfect. No parents ever

have been. But let me tell you this, you

need to be obedient to them.

The Bible still says, "Honor thy father

and thy mother."

You say, "Preacher, well, my family

situation's not natural." Who the daddy

in the home is and who the mama in the

home is, that's who you honor.

because they love you.

They care for you.

They're watching for your soul.

And they want you to have what they

didn't have.

They want you to be

because of somebody else's sin what they

could not be.

And you know what that's going to take?

That's going to take you listening to

them. That's going to take you obeying

them, submitting to their authority

and just being faithful

to wear the rope.

It's not a burden, it's a blessing.

>> That's right. Father, I pray in Jesus

name.

Lord, would you help us, God, to take

these truths and apply them to our

hearts and lives?

God, I know that our country has tried

to redefine the marriage and redefine

the home, what it is, and and say what

it's not. They say what we're doing is

crazy.

But Lord, I know what we're doing is

biblical.

And so God, would you please keep us in

the bounds of your word?

God, help us to apply the principles of

this message to our heart and life.

We'll be thank be thankful for what you

do. I pray God, every heart and life in

this room was touched. And I pray they

were challenged

because Lord, I'm challenged. I want to

be better in every way. For my children,

for my wife, and most of all for you.

Would you help us do it, Lord? I pray in

Jesus name.

Amen.
