Genesis chapter number six. Tonight, if

you have a Bible, Genesis chapter number

6. I do appreciate you being here

tonight. When you find your place, if

you would stand on a river to the

reading of God's eternal word, Genesis

Genesis 6 · chapter mention

chapter 6. And I do appreciate you being

in the service this evening. It's good

to have missionary brother here with us

tonight from Calvary Baptist Church and

King and brother TJ Tilly. And good to

have him here with us in the service

tonight. And you go by and greet him as

you go out. Brother, I appreciate you

being with us tonight. and uh appreciate

our missionaries. Man, I thankful I'm

thankful for how God has blessed our

missions program here at the church. And

I tell you this, if we're not reaching

souls, amen, we're not fulfilling the

great commission and the purpose of the

church. Amen. And it wasn't the church

was not built so we could sit around and

look at one another, but it was built so

we could reach out. Amen. And I do

appreciate Christ uh in the ministry

that he has given unto us, entrusted to

us these last days. And I want to deal

Genesis chapter number six tonight um

with this subject. We're going to get

over into the passage concerning Noah in

the coming weeks, but I got to deal with

this next text here in Genesis 6. What's

God put on my heart today? And so you

pray for us that the Lord will help us.

Let's look verse number one of Genesis

chapter number six this evening. The

Bible says, "And it came to pass when

men began to multiply on the face of the

earth, and daughters were born unto

them, that the sons of God saw the

daughters of men that they were fair,

and they took them wives of all which

they chose." And the Lord said, "My

spirit shall not always strive with man,

for that he also is flesh, yet his days

shall be in 120 years." And the Bible

says there were giants in the earth in

those days. And also after that, when

the sons of God came in unto the

daughters of men, and they bare children

to them, the same became mighty men

which were of old, men of renown. And

God saw that the wickedness of man was

great in the earth, and that every

imagination of the thoughts of his heart

was only evil continually. And it

repented the Lord, that he had made man

on the earth, and it grieved him at his

heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy

man whom I have created from the face of

the earth, both man and beast, and the

creeping thing, and the fowls of the

air, for it repenteth me that I have

made them. But notice verse number

eight. Your Bible says, "But Noah found

grace in the eyes of the Lord."

>> Amen. And when I read this text this

afternoon, I've been reading this text

coming up to uh this message here,

preparing for this particular text. And

this is a very controversial passage of

scripture. And I want to do my best

tonight to expound it the best that I

can. But this is what I know tonight.

I'm thankful that in the if the entire

world goes against and go and walks away

from what we believe, if the entire

church goes apostate and God only leaves

just a handful of us, this is what I

know. His grace will still be sufficient

for us. Amen. I'll tell you, I don't

know how many million people were on the

earth in the day of Noah, but I'll tell

you this, it was his family and him

alone, them alone, that got out on that

flood. Amen. Got out in that boat. And

I'll tell you this, we're going to make

it. Amen. We are going to make it. And I

bless his name for that tonight. Let's

pray and ask the Lord to help us. And

then I'll share the thought with you.

Father, thank you for allowing us to be

in the house of God tonight. Thank you

for the privilege that we have to pray.

And Lord, I thank you God for the fact

as brother Chubby saying tonight, God,

that that tomb is empty and that you are

gone. And Lord, I bless your name for

that. Lord, there is an empty tomb in

Jerusalem today, Father, because you're

not there. You're in heaven where you

say you ever live to make intercession

for us. And so God, we come to you,

Father. We come boldly before the throne

that we may obtain mercy and find grace

to help. Lord, this is a time of need.

And I pray, God, tonight that you would

exalt yourself tonight. get glory and

honor unto your name. Do that which only

you could do. And God, I pray, Father,

that we'll see no man save Jesus only.

And God, I pray tonight, Father, that

everything that's said and done be

pleasing to you. Lord, we sure love you.

Save the sinner near his tail tonight.

Do a work, Father, that it'll last for

time and for eternity. And we'll give

you thanks for it cause we ask it in

Jesus name. You can be seated tonight.

Amen. And amen. This text that I've read

to you tonight, I've already mentioned

that it is a controversial passage, but

I'll say this. It's in your Bible. Amen.

And so, I'm commanded. The Bible says

we're to preach the full counsel of the

word of God. And so, I'm going to preach

it to you tonight. Amen. And I want to

say this on the outset tonight. If

you're a Bible student, I don't know

which way that you lean concerning this

passage. I'll be honest with you. Some

days I lean one way, some days I lean

another. But I'll tell you this, it's

still truth that's applicable and

beneficial for our daily life this

evening. And so I want to give you a few

things by way of introduction tonight.

And then I will give you the thought

this evening. Of course, we notice here

in chapter number five that Noah is

mentioned here as the last son of that

10 generation span from Adam in the text

and his three children, Shim, Ham, and

Japheth are spoken of in verse number

32. And then it leads in to chapter

number six. And out of those 10

generations would proceed the godly line

that would come out underneath Adam. And

I remind you that God, he gave them Seth

because Abel had died. And no doubt Eve

in her mind thought that it was all over

when Abel died. But I'm thankful that

God wasn't done. Amen. And God was not

finished. She gave himself that

substitute to be the one that would

bring about the seed of the Lord Jesus

Christ. And so we notice in this text

here, the Bible says, "And it came to

pass." And so here it's a description of

the age of that antidoluvven period

here. And it's coming to a close what we

know about Genesis chapter number six.

It introduces to you and I the flood of

the ungodly, the day that God would

judge the earth with water. And I notice

a few things in this text. And I thought

this was interesting when I was studying

this because it amazes me that what we

find the sin that's mentioned in this

text is not even the sin of our day so

to speak. But I I want you to notice

just a few things. I want to get ahead

of myself here. Notice I want you to

note first of all verse number one in

Genesis 6 that there are the

multiplication of men upon the earth.

You notice it simply from the verse. The

Bible says, "And it came to pass when

men began to multiply on the face of the

earth and daughters were born unto

them." And so what this is, you say,

"Preacher, well that was the blessing of

God." And you're exactly right. God told

Adam and Eve, what did he tell them? He

said, "Be fruitful and multiply and

what? Replenish the earth." And so, you

know what they did? They did just that.

They began to be fruitful in their

marriage. And out of that, the nations

of the earth were filled with men. And

this is indeed a blessing from the Lord.

But you understand me many times the

blessing because of the flesh, the

carnality of men, God's blessing turns

in to wickedness.

>> Right?

>> And you notice in the multiplication of

men here in the text, you notice second

of all that there's mixed marriages that

come out of this. In verse two, the

Bible says that the sons of God saw the

daughters of men, that they were fair,

and they took them wives of all which

they chose. Now, I'll be honest with you

tonight. I'm not going to argue with you

about whether or not those sons of God

were angels or whether they were the

godly line of Seth. But for the message

tonight, I'm going to preach this as

they were the godly line of Seth. And

this is the reason why I'm going to

preach that because God has just

finished in Genesis 5 telling about the

godliness of these generations of these

men that followed. What did he describe

them as in chapter number four? He said,

"Then began men to what? To call upon

the name of the Lord." And so they were

labeled. They were given this title by

the Lord. And they possessed that title

as they prayed unto God. And so I

believe personally at this point in time

that may change tomorrow. Amen. And I

believe personally at this point in time

these sons of God were the sons here of

Adam of Seth that godly line of Seth.

And I notice the Bible says that those

sons of God saw the daughters of men

that they were fair and they took them

wives of all which they chose. Now if

you if if you give me just a minute

tonight, I want to share something with

you and you say, "Preacher, do you got

Bible for what you going to say?" Well,

I got a good good clue about it. All

right. And I think about this. Okay. I

mentioned to you this morning that you

know Enoch and his sons are actually

Seth and his son Enus. I personally

believe that God did not allow them.

Adam and Eve did not allow them to go

and marry of the children of the

Canaanite people. And so they had to be

the children of Adam and Eve according

to the text. And so they married within

their family. It was much like in the

days of Abraham. Abraham told Isaac,

"You're not going to go get a a child

outside of the heathen women, but you're

going to go get a wife for my son Isaac

out of the family." He wanted to make

sure that everything stayed right. And

let me say this tonight, you ought to

marry somebody at the house of God.

>> Young people, you ought to make your

spouse be somebody that's saved. The

Bible still says, "Be not unequally

yolked together with unbelievers." And

that's the truth tonight. Separation's a

Bible doctrine all the way back to

Genesis chapter number one. And what we

find in this text is I personally

believe that the sons of God as time

went on they began instead of marrying

within that family line marrying amongst

those who were pure and holy among them

they decided to step outside of that

according to the verse you notice what

the Bible says that they saw the

daughters of men that they were fair

I'll tell you number one reason why

these marriages were wrong is because

they were based on sight

>> right

>> Amen. Y'all going to have to help the

preacher tonight. Amen. You say, "How is

that?" Well, the Bible says they saw

>> they saw the daughters of men that they

were fair. Look what your Bible says.

And they took them wise of all which

they chose. They were based that they

were solely basing their marriage upon

their sight. God bless your heart,

brother. They were basing their marriage

upon sight. And it was based upon what

their flesh want. Let me say this. You

ought to decide in your heart right now,

young people. I don't care how young you

are. I don't care how far it is until

you get married. Wherever you're at, you

ought to decide in your heart right now

that you're going to marry the content

and not the container.

>> Right?

>> You're going to DECIDE YOU'RE GOING TO

MARRY THE SUBSTANCE. AMEN. And not for

sight. Amen. You're going to make sure

that you're going to MARRY SOMEBODY

WHO'S SAVED AND SOMEBODY who is not

lost. I'm talking about SOMEBODY WHO'S

NOT JUST SAVED, but somebody who's saved

and sanctified and serving God and wants

TO BE PURE THE SAME WAY THAT YOU WANT TO

be pure. Can I get an amen tonight? THAT

WANTS TO LIVE FOR JESUS THE SAME WAY

THAT YOU DO. AMEN.

>> And if you don't want to live for Jesus,

you got a greater problem. Amen.

>> You're right.

>> But I noticed these marriages, they're

mixed between the sons of God and

daughters of men. And I want to point

this out to you. I personally believe

that the godly line of Seth was reaching

out and marrying into that Canaanite

people. He they were he was marrying

they were marrying those daughters of

the Ca of Cain's children. And the Bible

says they were marrying them because

what they saw, but they were also

married them because they were their own

personal selection. Notice that. And

they took them wives of all which they

chose. Now, you don't have to believe

this tonight, but I personally believe

that in this text, what you can find is

that the parents arranged the marriage.

Jewish culture, that was the way it was.

The families would arrange the

marriages. And so, I I have no reason to

believe that it would be any other way

in this text. But you see, the problem

came when they decided they were smart

enough to do it themselves.

>> You're right.

>> Amen. And let me say this now. We we

don't we're not uh encouraging, you

know, arranged marriages. You know, I'm

not saying that tonight. But here's what

I am telling you. All right. If your

parents are godly and they don't

approve.

>> Come on, preacher.

>> Anybody in the building?

>> If your parents are godly and serving

God and they don't approve, you better

back up.

>> Amen. Hey, friend. I when I was looking

for a spouse in my younger days, I

remember thinking about that. I remember

thinking, man, if I I I my mama was the

pattern. I'm going to stop right here

for just a minute and preach. Amen.

>> Come on, preacher.

>> My mama was the pattern. And I thought,

if I can find somebody that will love me

the way my mama loves my daddy

>> and the way my mama loves God. Go ahead.

>> And you know what? That's what I look

for.

>> Amen. I bless his name. God gave me the

desires of my heart. Amen. And my

precious bride. And I'll say this, I

couldn't have found her if I tried.

>> You're right. Come on, preacher.

>> I know. I know. We gonna preach it

anyway. Amen. She was four and a half

hours away in a in a little mountain

town that they God God didn't even know

where she's at. But I'm thankful,

friend, that when she got out of there,

God found her and she brought He brought

her to me. Amen.

>> I'm saying God brought her to me. And

I'll tell you this, young people, you

need to listen. You need to let God

bring you your spouse. Right?

>> Let God bring you your spouse. Amen. But

I'll say this. When you choose yourself,

you're going to choose wrong every time.

>> Amen. They're mixed marriages. It was

based upon sight. It was based upon

their own personal selection. I will

remind you, there was no separation

here. They had went across the lines

that God had ordained for them to stay

in. But I notice even in the midst of

this, and I'm I'm boy, I'm thankful for

this tonight because ain't none of us

been perfect. Amen. I'm thankful. I

notice not only the multiplied men and

the mixed marriages, but I see the

merciful master in verse number three.

Look what your Bible says. And the Lord

said, "My spirit shall not always strive

with man, for that he is also his

flesh." You say, "Preacher, that doesn't

sound very merciful." But notice that

next word in verse three, yet. Yet his

days shall be inund.

You remember this morning I made the

statement that Moses when he remembered

that antidolivian people he said in

Psalm number nine he said our he said he

said a thousand years are but as a tale

when it is passed he says just a vapor

to you and then he goes on later in the

chapter and says the days of our years

are three score and 10 if by reason of

strength they be four score what you're

watching before your eyes in chapter six

is that God is cutting their years down

why is that because they're being

disobedient. obedient,

>> right?

>> And I still believe tonight the Bible

says that you're to honor your father

and your mother that your days may be

what?

>> Prolonged upon the earth. Hey, that's

still just as true as it was when they

pinned it down. Amen. And I believe that

tonight. And you say, "What are you

saying?" I'm saying God was merciful

unto them and the fact that he should

have took them out.

>> Right?

>> And you know what happens a little later

on? He is going to take them out because

they refuse to listen even though he

cuts their days down. And it and it

never ceases to amaze me. And I'm going

to get to the message in a minute. Amen.

But it never ceases to amaze me the fact

that the these boys went from living n 8

900 years down to 120 according to this

text. And they never even stopped one

time to think about, hey, God might be

judging us.

>> You're right,

>> man. When we go through things in our

life, God begins to judge us because of

sin. Sinners get judged because of the

things that they've done. They don't

even blink at that.

>> They don't even think twice about what

God is trying to reveal unto them. But I

want to say this. I'm thankful for every

sinner that refuses to look to God. God

is still merciful because Peter's still

in the book. He said, "The Lord is

longsuffering to us. We're not willing

that any should perish, but that all

should come to repentance. And so he's

merciful unto you and I." And I notice

in this text, the Bible says in verse

number three, verse three, the Lord

said, "My spirit shall not always strive

with man." A sobering verse. the fact

that God says there's going to come an

end to conviction. Do you understand

this morning that if you this evening

that if you die lost without God,

there's going to come an end

>> to your opportunity

>> right

>> there. And and I believe for some

there's people who will live and they

will shun away the day of grace in their

line. They'll shun away that salvation

in their life. And there'll come a day

in their life where God won't speak to

them anymore. where the spirit will not

convict them anymore because God is not

obligated. Listen to me. GOD IS NOT

OBLIGATED TO STRIVE WITH YOU AND I. But

it is his mercy. It is his GRACE THAT HE

WOULD SPEAK TO US. And man, I'm telling

you, I believe I got saved the first

time that I ever heard the word of God

and understood that I was a sinner. And

I've struggled because of that to some

extent. But I'll tell you this, for

most, that ain't the story.

>> For most people, God deals with them

years and years. Brother Tony said this

past week that he was under conviction

for seven years before he got saved. I

can't even imagine that. You say, "What

are you saying?" I'm saying God has been

merciful in that he extends his hand to

all of us. And he doesn't just do it

once.

>> But he does it time and time

>> and time again.

>> And I notice in this text, the Bible

says, "And the Lord said, "My spirit

shall not always strive with man."

And I want to preach on this thought for

just a little while tonight. I want to

preach on the shame of sinful men.

>> The shame of sinful men. Now, we know

what's going to happen. God is preparing

the world for a flood. And in this text,

God has given them a space of mercy. But

the Bible says in verse four,

there were giants in the earth in those

days. And also after that, when the sons

of God came in under the daughters of

men, and they bare children to them, the

same became mighty men which are of old,

men of renown. And I want to lay four

things on your heart about these men

tonight.

And I'll be done. I noticed concerning

this text, you realize God has shortened

their days according to verse three. Yet

his days shall be inund 120 years. You

think about that. That's almost 10%

>> that's left of what they were living

before. 120 years they're now living.

And the Bible says in verse four, there

were giants in the earth in those days.

And notice that next phrase, and also

after that, you know what that means? It

means after God shortened their days,

you know what they did? Look what your

Bible says. When the sons of God came in

under the daughters of men, you know

what that tells me? They kept doing the

same thing.

>> You're right. You know, I think the

shame of our nation is that God has sent

wakeup call after wakeup call after

wakeup call. And you know what? We're

still doing the same thing.

>> Yes, sir.

>> Amen. He's He's opened the door. I mean,

he's dropped the hammer time and time

again. We've seen it. We know that it's

his judgment, but yet we go back to the

same things again.

>> Amen.

>> God have mercy on us. And I notice in

this text, I notice first of all tonight

concerning this, I want you to notice

these men. And and I want to remind you,

okay? Paul said he when he described the

last days, he said in the last days,

perilous times will will come. And what

who did he describe? He didn't describe

the women. He didn't describe the

children. But you remember what he said?

He said men shall be lovers of their own

selves.

>> Right?

>> Every problem in this tra in this Bible

is traced back to men.

>> You're right.

>> Refusing to be who God ordained them to

be.

>> Now, I understand tonight that that word

man in a lot of senses has to do it's a

it's a broader term that means man,

woman, boy, and girl. I realize that,

but you understand Christ is the head of

the church and the husband's the head of

the wife and Christ is the head of the

husband,

>> right?

>> So, we're in authority,

>> right?

>> And so, that means if there's a problem,

it comes back to us because there ain't

no problem with Jesus.

>> Come on.

>> Notice the text. I see number one

tonight talking about the shame of

sinful men. I notice in these days,

number one, there are sizable men.

Notice what the Bible says in verse

four. There were giants in the earth in

those days. Now I people have preached

this and I'm not going to argue with you

tonight if you believe this that those

sons of God were angels and that the

angels came down and took up with the

the the daughters of men and because of

that out of those relationships giants

were born and and their size was larger

than that of a natural man because of

the angelic beings being the progenited

father. But I I want to submit to you in

verse number four, it does not mention

that giants were born in those days.

Notice the term.

>> It said there were giants in those days,

>> right?

>> Means they were present on the earth.

>> And so I really believe it has nothing

to do with that. I think it has to do

with the fact that men were there were

just some men who were larger. I mean

you can look at the NBA and NFL and see

that there are some giants that are

still living. Amen. I mean uh old Wimby

down there 7 foot something tall. I mean

that's a giant. Amen. Right?

>> What I'm saying is is it ain't got so

much to do with the supernatural side of

it. But what I'm saying, these are

sizable men. I want to say this to you.

The only time you ever find this word

giant again in this term in the Hebrew

is when God is talking about the sons of

Anoch, the giants that were in the land

of promise. And I thought about this

when I read this text. The Bible says

God is he he says, "My spirit is not

always going to strive with man." And

you know what? He did not consider their

size.

>> Right

>> now, I want to say this tonight.

Physically, there ain't none of us that

are giants in here tonight. But you know

what? I've met people, and you've met

people who think they're a giant.

>> You're right.

>> They're a giant financially. They're a

giant corporately. They're a giant

socially. They're a giant. Some people,

some preachers think they're a giant

ministerally. Amen. But I'll say this,

God didn't care about how the how big

they were.

>> Amen. In this text, the Bible says there

were giants in those days. And I don't

want you to miss the point. What I'm

saying is the judgment was still coming

in spite of their size. Notice this. Not

only I see there were sizable men in the

text, but number two, there's strong men

in the text. The Bible said there were

giants in the earth in those days. And

also after that, when the sons of God

came in under the daughters of men and

they bear children to them, they the

same became notice that mighty men.

mighty men. You know what that word

mighty means? It speaks of their

strength. It speaks of their ability.

There were sizable men. There were

giants in the land. But not only that,

there were men who had great ability

physically. They were strong. They were

able to fight. They were able to war.

That's what that word mighty literally

means. You think about those mighty men

of David, those men of valor, those

chosen men that were around David. What

were they known for? They were known for

their strength. But let me say this. God

didn't care about their strength. You're

right.

>> Amen.

>> Let me say this. Just because you're

sizable in the world doesn't mean you

got any size with God. You're

>> right.

>> Let me just say this. Just because

you're strong financially or you're

strong in the world or you're strong

socially. Let me remind you that doesn't

get anywhere with God.

>> Amen. People preach about Samson a lot

of times and the images that we have of

Samson and and it's, you know, it's

cartoonish really, but they display

Samson as this big brony guy. But I tell

you what, I really believe he was a he

was a pipsqueak.

>> I believe the Holy Ghost of God was his

power. I know the Holy Ghost of God was

his power. Amen. I don't think it was

exemplified in his flesh. What I'm

saying is God doesn't care about your

size. And God doesn't care about your

strength. Notice this thirdly, and I'll

get get to the message here tonight.

They're sizable. They're strong, but

they're also social men. Notice verse

four. The same became mighty men which

were of old. Notice this, men of renown.

And what's interesting about that is

that phrase which were of old literally

means that continually from the time of

their youth all throughout their life,

they were social giants. Now, what does

that mean? Well, you think about this

text. The Bible told us in verse number

one that men began to multiply. And so,

as the human race multiplied, you know

how multiplication works. It grows and

grows and grows. The more it grows, the

faster it grows, the larger it gets. You

understand what I'm saying? And so

because of that, there had to be

headship.

>> There had to be leadership. And the

Bible says that they were of old men of

renown. And that literally means they

were great men socially speaking. They

were well known throughout society.

>> They were noticed by people. Man, we got

a problem with that in this day and

time.

>> Men do anything for somebody to look at

them.

>> Come on, preach.

>> Want to be noticed. Want to be seen.

Want to be heard.

want to be socially great. I'll say

this, social media is killing us.

>> You're right.

>> Amen. And let me remind you of this,

friend. Jesus, when he came to this

earth, if there's ever anybody, I wish

you'd hear me preach tonight. If there's

ever anybody that deserved a platform,

if there's ever anybody THAT DESERVED TO

HAVE SOCIAL STATUS AND SOCIAL STANDING,

it was the Lord Jesus Christ. CUZ HE

COULD HAVE DISPLAYED HIS PERFECTION. HE

COULD HAVE DISPLAYED HIS PURITY. HE

COULD HAVE DISPLAYED HIS POWER ON THE

WORLD STAGE. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THE BIBLE

SAID? PAUL SAID HE MADE HIMSELF OF NO

REPUTATION

>> AND TOOK UPON HIMSELF THE FORM OF A

SERVANT. HE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT PEOPLE

KNOWING WHO HE WAS. HE WANTED TO HELP

THEM AND SAVE THEM. AMEN.

>> These social men.

Now I'm at the message.

Isn't that what

the conservative movement's pushing for

in America?

>> You're right, preacher.

>> Sizable men,

>> strong men,

>> and socially great men.

>> Right.

>> And we are watching

the decimation,

the dissipation

>> of the conservative movement of this

country.

>> That's right.

>> They're looking for these things. But

here's the problem. Notice the next

verse. The Bible says in verse 5,

"And God saw that the wickedness of man

was great in the earth in spite of the

sizable men." And there's not a doubt in

my mind. The Bible says Goliath, he was

9 foot and some 6 in tall. There's not a

doubt in my mind there was men in this

day probably bigger than that. Size

probably greater than any man in

history.

But God didn't care about their size,

>> right?

men probably strong. No doubt. You think

about the fact they everything they did

was primitive,

>> right?

>> The plowing of the land. I I mean I know

I'm sure they did it with animals,

>> but it was still controlled by men,

>> right?

>> Strongest men of the strongest men. Is

anybody hearing me preach tonight?

>> And socially, they didn't have anything

but the human race in this time,

>> right?

>> They didn't have pastimes, didn't have

sports, they didn't have all the things

that we have in this day and time. And

so, you know what was the primary thing?

It was being in control over you who was

under you

>> standing.

And so in spite of all their greatness,

everything that they possessed, the

Bible says God saw that the wickedness

of man was great on the earth. What that

means is that publicly, totally,

entirely, the human race, mankind is

wicked.

>> You're right.

>> Amen.

>> Totally depraved.

>> He says their strength does not matter.

Their their size DOES NOT MATTER. THEIR

SOCIAL STANDING DOES NOT MATTER. GOD

SAYS BECAUSE THEY ARE SINFUL. You're

>> AND LET ME SAY THIS. WE HAVE BUILT A

GENERATION in our country and I'm afraid

many people are building young men in

churches that they want them to be

SIZABLE AND THEY WANT THEM TO BE STRONG

AND THEY WANT THEM TO BE SOCIABLE. BUT

THE PROBLEM IS THEY'VE NEVER DEALT WITH

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM THEY HAVE AND THAT

IS SIN. YOU'RE

>> RIGHT. WE WANT TO BREAK THE 12STEP

PROGRAM AND TAKE DRUG ADDICTS AND GET

THEM OFF THE STREET. And I'm all for

that tonight. You understand WHAT I'M

SAYING? BUT I'M SAYING UNTIL WE DEAL

WITH A SIN PROBLEM, until we deal with a

matter of the heart, IT DOESN'T MATTER

WHAT WE DO TO THEIR FLESH,

>> THE SHAME OF SINFUL MEN IS NO MATTER HOW

GREAT THEY MAY BE, THEY'RE STILL

TERRIBLE AND WICKED BEFORE GOD.

>> Notice this. Their sin was public. The

Bible says it was great in the earth.

The entirety of the earth was sinful.

Now, like I said, you know, I believe

this tonight, but I believe before the

flood, there was a superc continent.

History, science kind of verifies at one

time there was a superc continent. I

believe when the fountains of the great

deep were broken up, the continent

split.

But this is what I will say about this

this person, this text specifically. The

Bible says it was great in the earth.

And so if there was a superc continent,

that meant that everybody was in the

same place. You're

>> right.

>> And as they were in the same place, you

know what they were doing? They were all

involved in the same thing.

>> That's right.

>> And you notice in the text, it's not

homosexuality.

It's not fornication.

It's not adultery. It's not any of that.

The Bible says they just married people

who they weren't supposed to marry.

>> You're right.

>> And this is why God's judging them.

>> You're right.

Amen.

>> Think about our problems.

>> Come on.

>> You know what God did to a nation cause

the problems we have? He didn't send the

flood. He sent fire.

>> Right?

>> Burned them alive. They burned alive to

a place of continual burning.

>> Right?

>> You know what? When God sent the fire,

there would never be another moment when

they didn't feel the flames.

>> Right?

>> He condemned them all to hell. And I

want to say this. We need to remind

ourselves that it's the small foxes

>> that spoil the vine,

>> right?

>> It's the little sins. Let me say this to

you, young person. You You might You

might be a young lady and you marry a

man. You might be a young man and you

marry a lady. But the truth is, just

because you're not homosexual doesn't

mean you're right with God. That's

>> right.

>> Oh, is anybody here preach tonight?

>> It there's more to it than that.

>> There it's more specific than that.

Separation is a necessity. That's

>> right.

>> It's required. It's not just

recommended. It is required if you are

going to live the Christian life. You

have to be pure. And you have to

maintain THAT PURITY AT WHATEVER COST.

>> YOU'RE RIGHT.

>> AMEN.

>> God don't care about your size. He don't

care about your strength. He does not

care about your social standing. Notice

this sin was public, but it was

personal. Look what the Bible says. This

wickedness of man was great in earth

that every imagination of the thoughts

of his heart. Sin was a blanket problem.

But let me say this. It was also

personal.

>> You're right.

>> In every man's heart, look what your

Bible says.

The imagination of the thoughts. Notice

this. I'm going to give you this. All

right. Stay with me. I don't want you to

lose me. Verse five. That word

imagination there speaks of the

purposes, the intentions.

He saw that the wickedness of man was

great in EARTH THAT EVERY IMAGINATION

totally

every purpose. Let me ask you what

drives you.

>> What's your purpose?

>> Come on.

>> God says that EVERY IMAGINATION, EVERY

INTENTION, EVERY PURPOSE was wicked.

>> Not only that, but not only the purposes

were wicked, but the plan was wicked.

Notice the text. That every imagination

of the thoughts.

>> The thoughts. You say, "Well,

imagination and thoughts are the same

thing." No other not

>> right

>> the imagination is that intent behind

your thoughts

>> right

>> you see I can think right but if my mode

is wrong you know what that tells me my

imagination's not in check

>> what does the Bible say about the

weapons of our warfare are not carnal

but are mighty through God to the

pulling down of strongholds casting down

imaginations

and every high thing that exalteth

itself against the knowledge of Christ

our savior here. Problem we have in this

day and time is people are doing the

right thing with the wrong intention.

>> Right.

>> You can come to church tonight. Why you

here?

>> RIGHT.

>> WHY? WHY DO I PREACH? WHY DO I DO WHAT I

DO? HEY, IT matters all it matters as

much why you do what you do as what you

do.

>> You're right.

>> He said the purpose was wicked. The

imagination, the plan was wicked. His

intent was wicked. The what he what HE

WAS GOING TO DO, the thoughts. Notice

this. Not only the purpose, the plan,

BUT NOTICE THE PASSION. Look at the

place there of his heart.

That deep inner man, that part WHERE WE

TRUST CHRIST, THAT PART WHERE WE KNOW

GOD, THE PASSION THAT WE HAVE FOR HIM

PROCEEDS OUT OF THE HEART. BUT YET AT

THE SAME TIME, GOD LOOKED AT A

GENERATION AND SAID, "THEIR EVERY

THOUGHT, THEIR EVERY PURPOSE, THEIR

EVERY PLAN, THEIR EVERY PASSION IS

WICKED."

>> RIGHT? That's right.

>> That's why Jeremiah said in Jeremiah 17,

he said, "The heart is deceitful ABOVE

ALL THINGS AND DESPERATELY WICKED. WHO

CAN KNOW IT?"

>> RIGHT?

>> Let me remind you, this didn't change

after the flood.

>> Yes.

>> WHEN NOAH STEPPED OFF THE ARK, GOD, HE

saw

that the thoughts of man's heart was

evil continually from his youth.

>> Right?

>> But I'm describing to you what preceded

judgment. You understand? We are headed

for judgment.

>> JUDGMENT is coming.

>> Amen.

>> Their per their purpose, their plan,

their passion was perverse. Notice the

text.

Every imagination of the thoughts of his

heart was only evil, SINGULAR. THERE WAS

NO GOOD IN THEIR THOUGHTS. NOW, I'LL BE

HONEST with you. I've had a lot of bad

thoughts over the years, but I couldn't

imagine

every day

>> totally depraved.

>> You're right.

>> And you know what? We have wrong

thoughts.

>> We say things that are wrong. Out of the

bunch of the heart, mouth speaketh.

>> We have wrong thoughts. We say wrong

things. But God looked at a generation

and he said,

>> "Everything that they think about,

everything that they want to do, and

everything that they are is wicked."

That's

>> right. Yeah.

>> You know what that is? That's a

description of lost world that's under

control of Satan.

>> Right?

>> You say, "What do you mean by that?"

Well, and don't fall out with me what

I'm fixing to say.

A lost man

in one sense can only do wickedness. He

can do no good. All righteousness is as

filthy rags.

>> Right? But you understand there are

morally good people who are lost.

>> You're right.

>> And not everything they do in their life

is bad. That's

>> right.

>> The only people who can be completely

and totally depraved and wicked all the

time in their thoughts is somebody who's

controlled by the devil.

>> That's right.

>> Notice the text. They're perverse. And

the Bible said it was only evil

continually. This sinfulness was

perpetual.

It did not end.

And the Bible says in verse six, it

repented the Lord that he made man.

Means he was sorrowful.

>> Right?

>> He was sorry that he made man. Could you

imagine that God was sorrowful

concerning the state of his people that

he made? Not only was he sorrowful, but

he was sick. Look what the Bible says.

that he had made man on the earth and it

grieved him at his heart. I'm talking

about an entire generation, all of

humankind, save one family.

Verse seven, he's going to bring

destruction. I'm going to give you the

message. I'm done. He's going to bring

destruction. Verse seven, I will destroy

man. Verse seven, he talks about their

defilement. He said, I've created whom

from the face of the earth, both man and

beast and creeping thing, the fouls

there, for it repenteth me that I've

made them. You know why he was going to

destroy the entirety of creation was?

Because the sinfulness of man had

infected creation.

>> You're right.

>> God destroyed animal life and plant life

and all the human race because of the

sin of man.

>> You're right.

>> Your sin affects the world around you.

>> Right.

>> Destruction,

defilement,

disappointment.

For it repenteth me that I have made

them. You say, "Preacher, what's the

message?" You see, the shame of sinful

men bought brought judgment. God was

disappointed with his creation. And you

know what the truth is? If you're here

tonight in your loss, there is nothing

you can do to please God. That's

>> right.

>> Amen.

>> Hebrews 11:5 said talked about Enoch. He

Hebrews 11:5

had this testimony that he pleased God.

Verse six, he said, "Without faith, it's

impossible to please him."

>> For he that cometh to God must believe

that he is and that he's a rewarder of

them that diligently seek him. You say,

"Preacher, what's the message of hope?"

Notice the next verse, verse eight.

What's them first two words?

>> But Noah,

an entire generation was going to be

wiped off the face of the earth because

of their sin. In spite of their

defilement, in spite of their

disappointment, there was one person who

was different.

>> Amen.

>> Did you hear what I said?

>> Come on.

>> Let me say this to you children. Listen

to me. In spite of the defilement around

you and the disappointment of sin and

people around you, you can be different.

>> That's right.

>> You do not have to live like the world

around you.

>> And the Bible says, "But Noah found

grace in the eyes of the Lord." And you

know why he found grace? Notice the

verse. He found grace in the eyes of the

Lord. Verse number nine, these are the

generations of Noah. Noah's a just man,

perfect in his generations. And Noah

walked with God. Amen.

>> There was only two men in the

antidolivian age that had that

description. It was Enoch and Noah. And

you know what happened to both of them?

They were delivered from judgment.

>> Right?

>> Enoch got raptured out. Noah got

delivered through.

And you say, "What's the emphasis,

preacher?"

Are you going to go with the crowd?

>> Come on, preacher.

>> Two people. Peter said it this way. He

said, "Whereas eight souls were saved by

water." Noah, his two sons, and their

wives, eight souls,

watching people walk away

because they're tired of it,

>> right?

>> Tired of what we believe. Tired of how

we behave.

>> Yeah.

>> Tired of how we want to live.

God said, "Straight's the way.

>> Straight is the gate. Narrow is the

way."

>> That's not changed.

>> Right?

>> The shame of sinful men has always been

the same.

>> In spite of their size, IN SPITE OF

THEIR STRENGTH, IN SPITE OF THEIR SOCIAL

STANDING, GOD SAYS, "YOUR SIN IS GREATER

TO ME THAN THAT."

>> RIGHT?

There's not a doubt in my mind God could

take somebody with a lot more or or

experience THAN MYSELF AND PROBABLY

PREACH a better message in the sense OF

THE THEOLOGICAL PART. BUT THE TRUTH IS,

MAN, I'M TELLING YOU, PEOPLE WHO ARE

GREAT IN THIS WORLD ARE NOT GREAT WITH

GOD.

>> YOU'RE RIGHT.

>> That's right.

>> If you're GOING TO BE GREAT IN THE

WORLD, YOU WILL NOT BE GREAT WITH GOD.

JESUS SAID, "MARVEL NOT THAT THE WORLD

HATES YOU."

>> RIGHT? DECIDE, YOUNG PEOPLE. DECIDE

TODAY THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GO WITH GOD

IN SPITE OF THE CROWD, IN SPITE OF THE

CHARISMA, IN SPITE OF WHAT THE DEVIL

SAYS AND TRIES TO PUT IN YOUR HEART.

>> That's right.

>> I'm tired of watching them walk away.

>> Amen.

>> My plea to you is this tonight. Every

heads bowed, every eyes closed. The

shame of sinful men's always been the

same, church.

Doesn't matter how good you are. God's

not going to be pleased with that.

>> Right?

>> Let me say this to you tonight.

God will accept.

You say, "Preacher, that's all I've got.

All I've got is what I've done in this

life." Well, the Bible said, David said

this, Psalm 51, he said, "A broken and

contrite heart, thou will not despise."

Broken and contrite spirit, they will

not despise. If you realize that all you

have is what you think are good works

right now, if all you have is your life

on this earth to live to get you to

heaven, you'll die and go to hell.

Right?

Let me say this tonight. If you come to

God with a broken heart, he'll forgive

you.

He'll save you. He'll cleanse you. And

he'll make a difference in your life.

This altar is open tonight. Let me say

this for you children of God. Dare to be

different.

Dare to be different. Decide to be

different. And let me say this. If you

dare to be different, decide to be

different. You'll declare that you are

different. When that friend, when that

person tries to get you to do something

that you know you ain't supposed to do,

if you've already decided in your heart

before you get there, you know what

you'll do? You won't be afraid to tell

them, "Hey, I'm not going to do that."

You know, when Daniel got to Babylon,

you know what? They couldn't beat

Jerusalem out of Daniel because when

Daniel got there, you know what he did?

He purposed in his heart back at

Jerusalem

that he would not defile himself with

the king's meat.

And Daniel watched king after king after

king rise and fall, rise and fall. But

you know what? Daniel had a steady life

of faith

through every rise of leadership

and every fall of leadership.

Let me say this to you tonight, child of

God. This country may go under.

I don't know where we'll be in the next

20 years. God forbid it go under. I'm

thankful for the liberties and freedom

that we have. But I do know this. God's

grace will be sufficient

should what we have enjoyed as the

American people go under. I just want to

remind you God's grace is not going to

change.

But it might be the truth of the fact

that this nation going under might spark

the greatest revival

that we've ever known.

Let me ask you, are you going to serve

God in spite of the crowd?

You going to be you going to dare to be

different.

You're going to decide to be different.

Boy, I'm glad tonight I can declare that

I am different. And Paul said it this

way. He said, "I am what I am by the

grace of God." It's not your pride that

says you're different, but it's God on

the inside that has made a difference.

Father,

Lord, thank you for this truth tonight.

I thank you for these young people

that's coming to pray. Lord, parents

need to come pray because Lord, the

truth is it's not just the young ones,

but it's all of us.

God, if there's ever been a day we need

to decide.

We're going to be different. We're going

to stand. We're going to stay. We're

going to serve. It's this day

because Lord, that rich man's still

burning in hell. And we know that the

shame of sinful men

is going to be perpetual.

But Lord, I'm thankful the the blessing

of those who are saved. There'll never

be a moment that they can't rejoice in

heaven's fair land because they chose to

junk everything on this side.

that to let go of everything on this

side so that they could live with you on

that side. Father, I thank you so much

for this precious truth tonight. May we

take it and apply it to our hearts and

lives.

Lord, I love you. Thank you for these

this church and these people. We'll

thank you for what you do because we ask

it in Jesus name. God's children said,

>> "Amen."

>> Amen.
