All right, take your Bible tonight. take

God's word and turn with me to the book

of Genesis once again and uh I just have

not been able to get away from these

verses of late and uh been praying about

the service tonight and I don't ever

want to just u just preach what I got

but it's what I got and it's what the

Lord gave me. It's what he said preach

and so that's what I'm going to do and

uh give you this thought tonight. Really

more of a Sunday type message but I'm

going to preach it best the Lord will

help me tonight. Genesis chapter 9. And

Genesis 9 · chapter mention

uh

and I want you to know tonight, church,

I I I really do appreciate each one of

you tonight. And uh I'm thankful for

you. And I'm thankful for your faithful

service, your faithfulness to this

church. And I tell you, if we had if

everybody in our church on Sunday was

like the crowd that's here tonight, we

wouldn't have no issues. Amen. And I I

really do. I appreciate you uh from the

bottom of my heart and I want you to

know that. Amen. And I thank the Lord

for you. Genesis chapter number 9. I

want to read verse number 20. Genesis 9

verse number 20 down through the end of

the chapter tonight and then I'll give

you the thought and the message and

we'll be done. Genesis 9:20. The Bible

Genesis 9:20

says, "And Noah began to be a husbandman

and he planted a vineyard and he drank

of the wine and was drunken and he was

uncovered within his tent. And Ham the

father of Canaan saw the nakedness of

his father and told his two brethren

without. And Shim and Japheth took a

garment and laid it upon both their

shoulders and went backward and covered

the nakedness of their father. And their

faces were backward. And they saw not

their father's nakedness. And Noah awoke

from his wine and knew what his younger

son had done unto him. And he said,

"Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants

shall he be unto his brethren." And he

said, "Blessed be the Lord God of

Sheim." and Canaan shall be his servant.

God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall

dwell in the tents of Shin, and Canaan

shall be his servant. And Noah lived

after the flood 350 years. And all the

days of Noah were 950

years, and he died. Let's go to the Lord

in prayer and ask him to help us

tonight. Father, thank you for allowing

us to be in the house of God. Lord, I do

not take this privilege that you've

given us lightly tonight. But I thank

you for it. I thank you for entrusting

me with the gospel, Lord, that you

counted me faithful. As the Apostle Paul

said, you put me into the ministry, and

I thank you for that. God, I ask you

would help us tonight. Clothe me in my

calling. Speak to me and through me

tonight. Get all glory to yourself. Rid

us of flesh tonight. And Lord, may we

see no man save Jesus only. You help us

to receive with meekness the engrafted

word and open our eyes that we may

behold wondrous things in thy law. And

Lord, you told us in your word, Father,

Lord, that in the last days, perilous

times would come. And so, God, I pray

you would remind us of that fact

tonight. Make us ever aware of the days

that we're living in. God, that we might

be ever aware of the fact that you could

come at any moment. And Lord, I pray

from my heart even so come quickly.

Lord, I ask you that you would help us

tonight for this time. We give you

thanks for what you do. and all glory be

unto thee because we ask it in Jesus'

name. Amen. And amen. Genesis chapter

number nine tonight we dealt with on

Sunday morning uh here this past weekend

concerning the rainbow and the thought

about remembering the rainbow. When I

look at this chapter, of course, there

were a lot of verses that we skipped

over and I just kind of been hitting the

highlights through this. But I want to

just give you a few things tonight

concerning this chapter by way of

introduction tonight and then I'll give

you the thought this evening. Now we

know tonight Noah had been blessed by

the Lord and I think this chapter

highlights that well. And number one by

way of introduction tonight I want you

to cons consider the Lord's blessing of

Noah in verse number one of Genesis 9.

The Bible literally says, "And God

blessed Noah and his sons and said unto

them, be fruitful and multiply and

replenish the earth." And so there was a

blessing that was given unto him. And

you say, "Preacher, why wasn't that

blessing given unto him?" Well, it was

because he was found faithful. Amen. He

was obedient unto the Lord and he did

everything that God asked him to do

tonight. And that is commendable for a

servant. Amen. That we just do what God

has asked us to do. Amen. We ought not

to expect a I guess a standing ovation

for it. Amen. But it is commendable. And

the Lord always commend his servants.

Amen. We serve the Lord Christ. We'll

receive of him the inheritance. And so I

think not only of the blessing of Noah,

how the Lord blessed him. But also think

about in chapter number nine, the the

mystery of the fact that the land here

in the text, the land really the whole

earth became Noah's here. The Lord has

blessed Noah, but the land, the world

has become Noah's here in the text. And

I noticed that in chapter 9:es 2, look

what the Bible says. The Bible says,

"And and the fear of you and the dread

of you shall be upon every beast of the

earth, and upon every foul of the air,

upon all that moveth upon the earth, and

upon all the fishes of the sea, and to

your hand are they delivered. Every

moving thing that liveth shall be meat

for you, even as the green herb have I

given you, all things." And then you

notice again in verse number 18, the

Bible says, "And the sons of Noah that

went forth of the ark were Shim, Ham,

and Japheth, and Ham is the father of

Canaan. These are the three sons of

Noah." Notice this phrase, "and of them

was the whole earth overspread." So you

think about the fact tonight that the

Lord has blessed Noah, but you

understand the land, the entire face of

the earth has become into Noah's

possessions. And you think about what we

have been given tonight as the church of

God. We've been given God's word. We

have a great possession tonight. And

when I think about the fact that we've

been blessed, we need to realize what

land is ours. Amen. We own We have an

inheritance tonight. And it is the word

of God. We're not waiting to get unto

heaven until we can live out our

Christian life, but we're to live it out

here. Amen. And our rewards are over

there. But what's interesting to me in

this text is that Noah, everything that

we know about Noah, how that he followed

God. The Bible says that he found favor

in the eyes of God. God said, he said,

"Be have I seen righteous before me in

this generation." Even in spite of all

that, what amazes me here is that

probably the biggest portion of Noah's

life is is made up of these last 10

verses, verses 19 down through verse

number 29 in this text. And you say,

well, what's interesting about that?

Well, I I I put it this way in my

outline here that the land has been or

the Lord blessed Noah and the land

became Noah's. You see, there's the last

Bible that's written about Noah in these

10 verses. And what I find in this is

this. This is a period of 350 years.

Verse number 28, the Bible says that

Noah lived after the flood. 350 years.

Verse 29. And all the days of Noah were

950 years and he died. So Noah was 600

years when he got off the ark here in

the text. And so 350 years Noah lives in

this text. No doubt in that 350 years

there were countless children that were

born unto Shim, Ham, and Japheth. There

were untold numbers of works and wonders

of life that had taken place upon the

new earth. But you understand there's

only 10 verses that are given to us of

this entire period.

>> Right?

>> Everything that goes on in these 350

years is given in this text. And what's

amazing to me here in this text is is

that though this is the last Bible about

Noah here, it's not a good text. It's

not an encouraging text. It's not

nothing that we would look at Noah and

say, "Man, he finished." Right? What we

find in this text is Noah failing.

You're

>> right.

>> And with the help of the Lord tonight, I

want to preach on this thought on when

failure is final.

when failure is final. Now, I'll be

honest with you tonight when I came to

this text in my studies. This was not

the direction that I was thinking of

going when I considered this message.

But you understand the last message

that's given to us about Noah is that

his failure here brought about a curse

upon his family. And when I think about

in this text, you understand we make the

statement, you know, failure is not

final with the Lord. And I would agree

with you if you make that statement.

Man, I'm thankful there's forgiveness

and there's restoration. Somebody say

amen tonight. There is forgiveness.

There is restoration with God. But you

understand there are some people and I

pray to God that there's nobody here

like that tonight. But the truth is

there's some people that their failure

will be and is final in their life. They

will allow it to consume them.

>> You're right. Now, the Bible says, "A

righteous man, a just man fallth seven

times and riseth up again." And what I

believe in this text is is that Noah

didn't stay down. But you see, because

of his sin, there was others who didn't

ever get up.

>> You're right.

>> And if I if I could say anything to you

tonight before I give you the message is

this. You just remember just because you

fall, you don't have to stay down. All

right? Thank God for that. But you also

ought to remember that when you do fall,

you risk the possibility of other people

falling with you. And though you rise

again, they may never rise again.

>> Failure can be and sometimes is final.

>> And I want you to I want to give you

three things tonight out of this text. I

was going to give you four, but I'm

going to skip the first one tonight just

for sake of time this evening. When I

think about this text and what all is

going on here, we need to highlight

number one tonight in the message, the

steps of Noah, the steps of Noah. Now,

tonight, we've used Noah as a type of

Christ up to this point. And you need to

realize that every type, every figure,

every foreshadowing of Christ in the

scripture, there's always a break.

There's never a perfect type of Christ

all throughout the Bible. And so, Noah

has been a great type of Christ. The ark

is a type of Christ. There's images of

Christ all throughout this. But you see

in this text, this is where Noah breaks

from his righteousness. This is where

Noah breaks from his holiness. And let

me remind you, when somebody begins to

sin, it never just starts out bad.

>> You're right.

>> It never just starts out in the worst

place. Uh and and we'll just be honest

tonight. You've never seen a man that

just ended up in a penitentiary with

nothing leading him to get there.

>> You're right. Amen. And so let's

consider the steps of Noah tonight. I

noticed number one tonight thinking

about the steps of Noah this evening. I

see number one the ground that's

mentioned here in the text. The Bible

said in verse 20 and Noah began to be in

what? A husbandman. Now you look up that

word husbandman in the Hebrew and it has

to do it's two uh Hebrew words and one

has to do with ground and the other one

is a caretaker. And so Noah was a a a a

a keeper of the ground, a tiller of the

ground. We know that was the command

that was given unto Adam, that he was to

teal the ground and to keep the land.

And the Bible says that Noah began to be

and husbandman in this text. And so

there is the ground that is given unto

him. And and you say, well preacher,

what's the significance of that? Well,

you just remember the vast expanse of

ground that Noah possessed here in this

text. The whole earth was his.

>> It all was his. He had it all at his

disposal tonight. And you think about

Noah, he had the opportunity to start

over again. Now, I'll be honest with

you. If you know anything about farming

tonight, you know that the best ground

is ground that's never been touched.

>> Right

>> now, ground down here, amen, it's been

had tobacco on it for years and years

and years. And there's no ground that's

more poor than tobacco land. Amen. It's

as poor as it can be. And ground that's

been used and used up the nutrients and

the minerals that's in it is really not

fair. But you think about this. After

this flood, all the ground was reached

>> because the sediments had been laid all

throughout the land. I'm not trying to

get bogged down here tonight, but I'm

just saying this was the blessing of

God. Noah was doing what he was designed

to do, keeping the ground. Let me remind

you tonight as a child of God, that's

our that's our demand tonight. We've

been left the word of God and we're been

called to drop the gospel plow. Amen.

And the field is the world. You could

take it any way you want to tonight. But

we've been entrusted with some ground

tonight. And I notice not only the

ground in the text, but I notice also

the grapes in the text. Look what your

Bible said. And Noah began to be in

husband and he planted a vineyard. So I

see here this vineyard is comes up in

the text. Now this is the first place in

the word of God that you find a vineyard

described. It has to do with those

berries. Of course we know that these

were grapes in this text due to the

subject of verse number 21. And these

grapes are given. So Noah is being

fruitful. Let me let me say this

tonight. He was in this field. He's

given the field of the world in in in a

sense here. And he was he was entrusted

with the entirety of land, the expanse

of the world. And he makes a farm out of

that. He's doing what he should be

doing. He plants a vineyard here in the

text. He's being fruitful and his job as

a husbandman. And I notice here not only

the ground and the grace, but I I notice

here in the text, consider, look what

the Bible says in verse number 20 and

21. The Bible says he planted a vineyard

in verse 21 and he drank of the wine.

And I put it this way in my outline. I I

I titled this point the glass.

You see what happened here in this text.

And I'm going to preach it this way

tonight for a reason. I'm going to give

you the literal tonight for us. How we

need to understand this. But what this

is for Noah, this this ground that he

had been given, these grapes that he was

planting, this farm in this field that

he had make, he had took of the fruit in

this text. And what happened was, you

understand the field was not sinful. The

farming was not sinful. The fruit was

not sinful. But what happened when it

what what where did this turn in the

text? It became sinful when Noah went

beyond the bounds of what God allowed.

>> You're right.

And we know that this matter of wine, it

is the fermentation process. Now, I'm

not going to try to preach that tonight,

but I want you to understand something

here in this text about this particular

period. Okay? Now, we know tonight Jesus

didn't turn water into alcoholic wine.

We know that. Okay? And uh the reason

why we know that is is if that was

possible, amen, he would been going

against his own word.

>> Right?

>> Amen. Woe to him. Amen. that giveth wine

to another. Amen. That's that's is

that's written on the pages of

scripture. Amen. Wine is a mock or stone

drinks is rage and whosoever is deceived

thereby is not wise. And so that's just

what the Bible teaches tonight. We could

argue back and forth about that tonight,

but the Bible says what it says. But

when I consider this text and I think

about Noah, I don't think so much the

sin is found in the drinking of the wine

as it is overindulgence. You're

>> right. Now you say, "Preacher, could

that couldn't that case be made for you

and I today?" Well, no, it couldn't.

>> Here's the reason why I say that.

Because when you think about what we

have in this day and time, the only

acceptable use for alcohol in the Bible

is for medicine.

>> Amen. Don't fall out with me right here.

Okay? The only acceptable use for that

in the Bible is for medicine. And so,

when we think about that thought

tonight, you understand they didn't have

Nyquil. You're

>> right. They didn't have aspirin and

ibuprofen and Tylenol. They didn't have

none of that. Okay? And so this

fermentation process, it was a a pain

reliever, but it was also a preserver.

You see this? These grapes would be made

into wine and they would be used to

preserve the wine. It would be used to

make it keep because you understand they

didn't have ice boxes,

>> right?

>> Didn't have a calvinator as the

old-timers used to say. And so it was it

was fermented so it could be preserved.

And so what I want you to get out of

this tonight is is Noah's sin came in

when he was overindulgent

in the blessing that God had given him.

Now, if there's ever anything we can

identify tonight with, it would be this.

You're

>> right.

>> Every one of us in our life, if we'd be

real honest, we're overindulgent in some

area of the flesh.

>> Come on, preacher.

>> We live in the most blessed society that

has ever been in history. You're right.

>> We have more than all of the world has

>> at our fingertips today.

>> History has never seen the likes of what

we're seeing in this day and time. And

so I want you to understand this this

this problem of overindulgence is pres

presence present in our day. And you

say, "Well, what is it, preacher?" Well,

it's the step the steps that Noah took.

You see, he was blessed by God. He was

given a an amount of land. You

understand? There's never been another

man that's had this much land instead

instead of Adam. Amen. Noah had more

land at his disposal than anybody else.

He had more opportunity. He had nobody

to hinder him. He had nothing to hold

him back. He could have done whatever he

wanted to do. But isn't it interesting

of all the things he could have planted,

you understand? He had to bring one of

every seed over on that ark. You you

realize that it had to be brought over

and protected. AND SO OF ALL THE things

Noah could have planted, what does he

plant? A vineyard. Now, we could argue

that tonight, but here's the truth of it

tonight. Noah went and got involved in

the one thing that was harmful to his

life. You're

>> right.

>> And what does it remind us of? Well, it

goes back to Adam and Eve. You put

somebody in a perfect environment where

there is no sin, where there is no

temptation other than one tree, God

says, "You better not eat of it lest you

die." Amen. And in that perfect

environment, in a perfect body, with a

perfect mind, having daily fellowship

with God, what did mankind still do?

They still plunged the human race into

sin. You say, "Preacher, what's the

figure of this?" Well, Noah's just been

brought over the ark. He just saved the

entire race of humanity from

destruction. If Noah hadn't made it, do

you realize that the human race would

have been over with?

>> Right?

>> HE'S WROUGHT VICTORY FOR THE ENTIRETY OF

THE HUMAN RACE. He has spared the animal

life. He has spared the human life. HE

HAS BROUGHT THEM OVER to give them an

opportunity to have new life. And what

does he find himself doing? The moment

he gets off the boat, he's partaken in

death.

>> Matthew Henry said this. Noah, who had

kept sober in drunken company, is now

drunken in sober company.

>> You're right.

>> Noah preached 120 years. and remind you

of this. He lived 600 years of his life

in that antid-deluvian age with all

those wickedness, all those wicked

people. When God looked at that

generation and said the thoughts and

intents of their heart was only evil

continually, Noah lived in the middle of

THAT ALL ALONG AND NEVER HAD ANY

TROUBLE.

Here's our danger.

You see, tonight, we're not in danger of

getting out in the world. You see, if I

walked into a bar tonight or you walked

into a bar tonight, we wouldn't be

tempted by that,

>> right?

>> Cuz you know what? We'd be so disgusted

by it.

>> We know what that is. Some of you, that

was what you used to be, and you're

thankful that you aren't there now.

>> But you see, it's not those things

that'll destroy you. It's when you

overindulge in what God has given you.

>> Come on.

>> Noah had been entrusted with so much.

We've been entrusted in with so much.

>> Amen. But there is a danger. You say,

"What led to it?" Well, there was the

steps. You see, he brought this fruit

out and he allowed that fruit to

overtake him. The overindulgence here in

this text, I notice not only the steps

of Noah, but I noticed the sin of Noah

in this text. The Bible says in verse

21, he drank of the wine and was drunken

and he was uncovered within his tent.

Now, let's get this thing back on the

rails tonight. What we think about

drinking, let's just put this out there.

The first mention that you have of a

vineyard, the first mention that you

have of drinking, the first mention that

you have of wine, what happens? Notice

the verse. He drank of the wine and was

drunken and he was uncovered within his

tent. Three things here you need to see

about his sin. Number one, the drinking

was a sin.

>> Right?

>> Why was that? Well, I don't and and you

can fall out with me here if you want

to, but I don't believe that they had

anything strong enough that he could

have took one drink of it and been s by

it. Okay?

>> I believe Noah just sat there in a lazy

place cuz he's built his vineyard. He's

got it all planted and it looks all

pretty. It's pruned and picked and he's

got these berries off of it. And you

know what he does? He goes and sits down

in his house and he starts drinking.

>> Amen.

He starts drinking it basically like you

if you went home and took too much

medicine

>> and so you know what happens to him? He

drinks. Bible says he drinks until he

becomes drunken. Look what your Bible

say. This is simple, okay? It's just the

truth. He drank of the wine and was

drunken. His drinking was sinful because

it was done without measure. His

drunkenness was sinful because he was

without measure himself. He became to a

place where he was uncontrolled. Now you

just just remember what this man has

just piloted through.

>> 40 days of the most intense rainfall,

water coming up from the ground. I mean,

the measure of destruction we can't even

fathom. Noah has piloted the biggest

boat that anybody had ever seen through

all of that with all the all the animals

on there of all different kinds,

predators on this side and and birds and

mammals and all over the place. And he

kept them from not killing one another.

And his wives, his wife and his three

sons and their wives, he kept them all

from not killing one another. Amen. Just

get in here with me tonight. You know

what I'm saying? NOAH HAS PILOTED THIS

SHIP WITH NO PROBLEM.

>> BUT WHERE DOES THIS PROBLEM come in?

>> Amen.

>> You're right.

>> When it's personal.

>> You know who you really are tonight is

who you are when nobody's watching.

>> You're right.

>> You know who you really are is what you

are. what you can't handle personally.

Amen. You see, what you can't restrain

personally is what will take you down.

You may be able to stand against

everything. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO WITHHOLD

AGAINST ANY TEMPTATION, BUT WHAT YOU ARE

IN PRIVATE and what you allow to

overrule your mind when YOU'RE IN

PRIVATE IS WHAT WILL DESTROY YOU.

>> YOU'RE RIGHT.

>> He was drinking. He was drunken. But

here's where it gets to the point. Look

what the Bible says in verse 21. He

drank of the wine and was drunken. And

what your Bible say? And he was

uncovered

within his tent. Now, the last time this

happened, the people that were in this

state were ashamed. You're

>> right.

>> And what had happened was they'd

realized that they would become sinful.

They had noticed something about

themselves they'd never noticed before.

And what had caused that? Well, they'd

eaten of that what? Forbidden fruit. So,

what's happened in this text? Well, it's

not the forbidden fruit, but it is the

forbidden drink.

>> You're right.

>> And so, what has this drink done? It's

took him out of consciousness.

>> You're right.

>> Just as that forbidden fruit brought

Adam and Eve into consciousness. Don't

miss what I'm saying. This drink is what

takes men and women out of their

consciousness.

>> You see, the worst thing that you can be

is unaware.

>> You're right.

>> Of who you are, what you're doing, and

where you're at. Now, we we could look

at that tonight. We've got people we

know are struggling with issues of the

mind and their wives, their husbands are

having to learn how to care for them

because they're simply not aware of who

they are or where they're at at all

times anymore.

>> You're right.

>> You know how much of a struggle that is.

We know how people who get drunk are.

>> Yeah.

>> They become unaware of themselves. They

don't know their own power. They don't

know their own strength. And so, what

happens in this text is Noah doesn't go

on a let's just re be real tonight. He

doesn't go on a spree and beat his wife.

He doesn't go and beat his sons. He

doesn't go and do something out in

public. But the Bible says he was

uncovered within his tent. Now, when you

look at that, there's more than just him

being naked. It means that he was

deliberately unclothed. You're

>> right.

>> Noah deliberately unclothed himself. And

the epidemic that we have in this nation

is this is that there was a time, and

you hear me out and hear me well

tonight. There was a time when it took

an alcoholic beverage or some kind of

seducing spirit of some sort to get

people to come out of their clothes. But

now people don't not have to drink

nothing. Amen. Because their mind is so

DECEIVED AND SO RANSACKED AND SO WRECKED

THEY'LL WALK AROUND UNCLOTHED AND THAT'S

DEMONIC FRIEND.

>> The maniac of Gdair, the Bible says he

was in the tombs cutting himself with

stones and he wear no clothes. Amen.

That's the problem we have in this

country. It's not a modesty issue. It's

a demon issue. Amen.

>> Put some clothes on. Bless your heart.

>> If you say you're a child of God and you

walk around half naked out there, God

help your sorry soul. AMEN. YOU NEED TO

PUT SOME CLOTHES ON. AMEN.

>> That's good preaching. Even if it is

2026,

he was uncovered within his tent. It was

deliberately. You see the sin, his

drinking brought drunkenness, and his

drunkenness brought deliberation.

something Noah WOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT

IN DISGUST BECAUSE HE WAS DRUNKEN. HE

DID IT DELIBERATELY.

>> YOU'RE RIGHT.

>> You can look up the word uncovered. It

means not that he just found himself

that way, but he decidedly became that

way.

>> You're right.

>> And you notice in this text, the sin of

Noah, you see out of this first mention

there leads the first event of another

sin that we see on the pages of

scripture.

The Bible says in verse 22, "And Ham,

the father of Canaan saw the nakedness

of his father and told his two brethren

with that," we consider the sin of Noah.

But I want to give you this thirdly

tonight and I'll be done. I consider not

this, not only the steps and the sin,

but notice the shame, the shame of Noah.

You see, Noah's sin is really confined

to verse number 21, but you understand

out of his sin, there leads a whole

plethora of other sins. And the Bible

says in verse 22 that Ham, all right,

Ham is his youngest son according to

chapter 9 and verse number 24. He knew

what his younger son had done unto him.

Japheth is the oldest according to

chapter 10 and verse 21. And Shim is the

middle son. And so Ham the youngest son,

the Bible says he ca he came in there

and saw the nakedness of his father and

told his two brethren without. Now, what

you discover in this number one tonight,

in the shame of Noah, Noah corrupted his

family.

>> You're right.

>> You see, had Ham not been had Noah not

been naked, Ham would have never seen

him that way.

>> You're right, preacher.

>> Okay, you say, "Well, preacher, Ham was

the one that was in the wrong." Let's

say who caused it. That's

>> right.

>> Amen. Let's just be real. And let me

just preach right there for just a

minute this evening, okay? All these

women folk that want to go to the beach

and unclo themselves and then frustr and

gripe about a man looking at them. The

man's not the problem.

>> Amen.

>> If you put it on put it on display, JUST

JUST EXPECT IT'S on sale. Amen. IF IT

AIN'T FOR SALE, DON'T PUT IT ON DISPLAY.

AMEN.

>> YEAH, a man shouldn't be looking at it.

But you better know, FRIEND, IF YOU PUT

IT OUT THERE, IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.

YOU'RE

>> RIGHT.

>> AMEN. Ham was vulnerable here in this

text. BUT LET ME SAY THIS. PAM'S VICE

WAS HE WENT FARTHER than what he should

have went. The truth is if you go

farther than what you should go,

somebody else will go farther than that

with you.

>> You're right.

>> Notice the text again. He he saw the

nakedness of his father and told his two

brethren without. You look up that

phrase the way it's written there. He

told his two brethren there was no shame

involved with this.

>> Ham was not ashamed of it.

I'm not trying to be vulgar or crude

here, but you got to remember something.

There's only four of these men on the

earth,

>> right?

>> There's only four women on the earth.

>> It's been over a year. And what has

happened is is they've been corrupted by

their own mental state.

>> You put a man, you put a woman, you put

a family in confinement for long enough,

man, there's going to be some crazy

things that happen.

>> You're right.

>> But let me say this. Ham's utterly

depraved.

Notice what your Bible says. You say,

"Preacher, what is the corrupted

family?" Well, look what the Bible said

in verse 24. And Noah awoke from his

wine and knew, notice this, what his

younger son had done unto him. So, this

means Noah Ham was not ashamed because

Ham didn't just look.

>> Ham didn't just look at Noah. But the

Bible says when Noah woke up, he knew

what had happened to him.

>> Ham done something to him. Bible don't

tell us what. And I'm thankful it don't.

>> But here's what I'm saying to you. What

you've discovered is is out of Noah's

lack of character.

>> Come on.

>> The first sin of homosexuality seen on

the pages of scripture.

>> You're right.

>> He woke up and he knew what Ham had done

unto him.

The Bible says in verse 24, notice it

again, Noah woke from his wine and knew

what his younger son had done unto him.

And what did he do? NOAH'S SIN HAD

CAUSED HIS ENTIRE FAMILY to fall.

>> You're right.

>> And it was his fault. But I noticed

this. Not only he corrupted his family,

but you see, his other boys had to cover

him.

>> Look what verse 23 says. And Shim and

Japheth took a garment, laid it upon

both their shoulders, and went backward

and covered the nakedness of their

father, and their faces were backward,

and they saw not their father's

nakedness.

You know, isn't it sad that somebody

else has to cover up your sin?

>> You're right.

his children had to take care of his

sin. And here's what I'm seeing in this

day and time is children are reaping the

consequences of their mom and daddy's

sin.

>> You're right, my friend.

>> The issues THAT MOM AND DADDY HAD IN

their life, their children ARE REAPING

THE CONSEQUENCES OF IT, and they're

trying to cover it up and do right. Hey,

don't don't look down. All right? This

is the truth tonight. You need to

understand something. WHEN YOU SIN, IT'S

NOT JUST GOING TO AFFECT YOU. GO AHEAD,

PREER.

>> THERE'S SOME THAT'S GOING TO BE

CORRUPTED BY IT, and there's some that's

GOING TO HAVE TO COVER YOU UP.

>> You're right.

>> I could tell you a personal example

tonight, but I know a family tonight. A

daddy was an alcoholic, and because of

that, he had he had a daughter that had

to to to cover for him and try to love

him through that while his son became a

drug drug addict. Now, I never knew that

that particular man. I don't think he

was ever a drug addict, but I know he

had a problem with alcohol. But out of

that, his son became a drug addict.

You're

>> right.

>> All the while the daughter was trying to

protect his character somewhat and

trying to love him through it. I'm

saying THERE'S GOING TO BE THOSE THAT'LL

cover you, but there's also going to be

those that are corrupted by you. You're

>> right.

>> Noah corrupted his family. But you see

his other two sons, they covered their

father.

But I notice this. All right.

You see, the sadness of where all this

comes to is what's found in verse number

25

or verse 24. The Bible says, "And Noah

awoke from his wine and knew what his

younger son had done unto him." Look

what the Bible says. And he said,

"Cursed be Canaan." Now, Canaan is the

firstborn son of Ham. According to

chapter number 10,

the Bible says there, he is the

firstborn son of Ham. And so what we

notice here in this text is Noah

pronounces a curse on him. So Noah's

sin, all right, in the shame, what he's

done is he's corrupted his ch, one of

his sons. His other two sons had to

cover him, but he's cursed the future.

>> Yeah, you're right.

>> Look what the Bible says. Cursed be

Canaan, a servant of servants shall he

be unto his brethren. Now, we could

argue about this tonight, okay? And

here's what I want to give you about

this. All right? Well, you know, people

say this and you know, I I would agree

with you if you say this. You know, Noah

was prophesying of what was to come. I

would agree with you if you say that.

Okay, but let's just go back to where

they started at. What was the first

cause?

>> Come on.

>> Noah got drunk.

>> You're right.

>> Ham was weak.

>> All right. Noah knew that. But you

understand the sin would have never

taken place if Noah hadn't done what he

did.

>> You're right. All right. And so we can

you can say what you want to, but the

Bible says in verse 25, he cursed

Canaan. And and yes, it is prophetic,

but the curse would have never came upon

Cainan had Noah not committed the sin he

committed here in the text. Now, let me

give you this. All right, we consider

this text. There's a lot of preaching

that could go on about this text. Who

are the Canaanites? We we know about the

Canaanites. Those are the people that

Joshua ran out

of the land. It's the land of Canaan.

Amen. The Canaanite people, you know

what they spent their life doing?

>> Running.

>> You're right, man.

>> They spent their life being destroyed,

being murdered, being run out of their

land because of one man's sin.

>> You're right.

>> Now, let me give you this tonight.

Your sin may not just affect your

children.

>> Come on. But it may affect generations

upon generations upon generations. I

wish I had the names and the statistics

tonight, but there are two families that

was compared in history. And I I'm not

going to try to even dare give specifics

of it, but it's back three some 300

years. Family of a Satan man, a

well-known preacher, and then a family

of a well-known atheist.

And the comparison is this, about how

many of them died as alcoholics.

that atheist man, over 75% of them died

alcoholics,

some type of substance abuse,

early death, all types of different

things. And the preacher, a great

majority of his sons were preachers and

loved the Lord.

What I'm saying is this tonight, the way

you live your life is going to determine

>> how those coming behind you will. Right.

>> And when I think tonight about my family

in particularly, I look back through the

generations and me and dad's talked

about this before, but generations. I

I'm the four I'm a fourth generation

preacher, but we my family don't all

agree on everything. Grandpa's a

primitive Baptist. My great-grandpa is a

primitive Baptist. But if you look at

the families as a whole, when you go

back, what you see is alcohol

over and over and over again for

generations on top of generations on top

of generations. My daddy was the first

one. My grandpa, he didn't get save.

Grandpa didn't go to church. Daddy

didn't get saved because of grandpa.

Daddy got saved because of my mama's

mama. Told him that if you going to date

my daughter,

>> you going to have to go to church. Amen.

>> Amen.

>> And so daddy went to church 17, 18, 19,

he got saved. They got married. He got

they got married and they got saved. And

my daddy's a first generation Christian.

And he told me this. He's told me this

before. He probably don't remember this,

but he's told me this before. He said,

"I know there's some things I'm never

going to be able to do." He said, "But

I'm thankful there's some things you'll

never be able to do."

>> Amen.

>> That's right. Amen.

>> That's right.

>> Amen.

>> Listen to me tonight, parents. There's

some things that you'll never be able to

do because of the sin that you've been

in or you've been dealt with. You're

>> right.

>> But you got to remember those coming

behind you.

>> There's some things that because you've

decided to be different, they'll never

be able to do.

>> Amen. My wife, if my her my

father-in-law were here tonight, he

would give the testimony of how the Lord

saved them,

brought them out of darkness. Man, I'm

telling you, it's a miracle. But they

would tell you this. He would tell you

this here tonight, he would say, if if

he were standing up here, he would say

this. He said, "My children, both of

them are married to preachers and in

church because of nothing we've done.

They're in church and married to

preachers in spite of everything that we

were. We did our best to raise them, but

we was failures at it. But we loved the

Lord, tried to show them Jesus, and he

carried them all over the country

>> preaching the gospel and they're still

in church today and love the Lord

because of it.

>> Amen.

>> If I could say anything to you tonight,

you say, "Preacher, well, no, two of

Noah's sons turned out all right, but

three of them could have."

>> You're right. Amen.

>> Noah hadn't done what he had done. Noah

hadn't messed up. Maybe the story of Ham

would be a little different.

>> I'll say this, failure don't have to be

final.

>> You're right. Amen.

>> And I don't want to leave you on a sad

note, but you need to remember that it

it can be if you allow it to be.

>> Right.

>> Amen. Because I think the saddest thing

about that story is that's the last

thing that's told to us about Noah.

>> You're right.

>> It's the last thing that said about him.

Of all the good that he did, he didn't

finish well. Amen.

>> 350 years. That was the only thing God

could say about him

>> was that he had sinned. I want to say

this. I don't want my life to be like

that.

>> Amen.

>> I don't want the highlight of my past to

be a story of failure.

>> I want I want my life to show something

for Jesus.

>> You say, "Well, what what's the what's

the remedy for that?" Well, don't build

a vineyard.

>> I'm not talking about literally. You

know what I'm saying? Amen.

Don't don't don't be overindulging in

this world.

>> Everybody that I'm watching get booted

out right now. That's what's happened to

them.

>> You're right.

>> Gotten too wrapped up in this life.

>> You're right.

>> Gotten too wrapped up in what's right

here right now.

>> Come on.

>> Let go of that.

>> Serve God, love your spouse, and do it

all with heaven in mind.

>> Amen.

>> Do it all with heaven in mind. And what

you'll find is when you do it with

heaven in mind, you'll find a little

heaven here.

>> Amen.

>> In your life. Amen. Father, thank you

for this time. Thank you for this truth

tonight, God. May you may you help us.

May May we ourselves be obedient tonight

to make sure that failure is not final

in our life, Lord, because I realize

that's up to us. I'm thankful that you

offer forgiveness and you offer grace. I

realize that. But Lord, I know that

there's many people who allow a failure

maybe in their life or maybe in somebody

else's to get them out. And Lord, they

never recover from it. God, I pray Lord

that nobody here tonight, Lord, would

allow a failure to be final in their

life. God, may we go forward and go

towards you. We love you. Thank you for

loving us. We ask it all in Jesus name.
