  8. God.

  9. >> I believe I really believe he's done all

  10. things well. And you you know I I think

  11. sometimes we we convince ourselves that

  12. because of what he does, he's worthy.

  13. And I know y'all hear me say it all the

  14. time, but it really ain't what he does.

  15. >> Right. Right.

  16. >> And uh cuz he don't have to do anything.

  17. >> Right.

  18. >> And uh I think if we'd ever get that

  19. through our head,

  20. >> that he really just ain't obligated to

  21. do nothing.

  22. >> Right.

  23. >> Everything he does for us is just cuz he

  24. wants to,

  25. >> right?

  26. >> Amen. You parents got children. Amen.

  27. And you do things for them just cuz you

  28. want to. I hope you do. Amen. Some

  29. sometimes you probably do things just

  30. cuz you have to. Um but you love them.

  31. You'll do things just cuz you want to.

  32. Amen. And you understand everything

  33. God's done for every one of us is just

  34. cuz he wants to.

  35. >> Amen. And he's just good. That's just

  36. who he is.

  37. >> And I bless his name for it. And

  38. appreciate them singing that this

  39. morning. Mark chapter number nine. If

  40. you have a Bible, when you find your

  41. place, if you can't and you're able,

  42. would you like to stay in on reference

  43. to the reading of God's word, Mark

  44. chapter number nine?

  45. Got a signup sheet here. Far as next

  46. Sunday goes, um got volunteer spots on

  47. it here. Brother Kyle's been putting

  48. everything together for us on next

  49. Sunday. So volunteers for food,

  50. volunteers for workers, um different

  51. things, ice machine, inflatable games,

  52. stuff like that. People to be around to

  53. uh to watch for that. And so look after

  54. the children and they'll be playing on

  55. those. Um also all the can bring bag

  56. desserts that won't melt. So um that's

  57. on here. We'll have that at the back.

  58. And if you have any other questions, you

  59. can see brother Kyle on that. Um, I got

  60. u want to say this about next Sunday.

  61. Um, be praying about that service. There

  62. is a chance of rain. Let's pray that'll

  63. hold off and pray that God will give us

  64. a good dry day on next Sunday. And I'll

  65. be honest with you, I'd love to see it

  66. rain. And we need some rain, don't we?

  67. And pray that God would send some rain

  68. our way. Um, but I'd love to be able to

  69. have that outside on next Sunday. And

  70. so, you just pray about that. And let's

  71. pray this way. Just pray God's will be

  72. done. Amen. And let's pray God will have

  73. his way in everything that's said and

  74. done on next Sunday. All right. Mark

  75. chapter number nine. He needs to have

  76. his way today though, don't we? Amen.

  77. And uh bless his name. I appreciate all

  78. that he does. Mark chapter 9. Let's

    Mark 9 chapter mention

  79. begin reading in verse number 14. Mark

    Mark 9 chapter mention

  80. chapter 9 verse number 14. And you pray

  81. for us this morning as we look at this

  82. text. The Bible says, "And when he came

  83. to his disciples, he saw a great

  84. multitude about them. And the scribes

  85. questioning with them, and straightway

  86. all the people, when they beheld him,

  87. were greatly amazed, and running to him,

  88. saluted him." And he asked the scribes,

  89. "What question ye with them?" And one of

  90. the multitude answered and said, Master,

  91. I brought unto thee my son, which hath a

  92. dumb spirit, and wheresoever he taketh

  93. him, he teareth him, and he foamth and

  94. nashethth with his teeth, and pineth

  95. away. And I spake to thy disciples that

  96. they should cast him out, and they could

  97. not. He answerth him, and saith, Oh

  98. faithless generation, how long shall I

  99. be with you? How long shall I suffer

  100. you? bring him unto me." And they

  101. brought him unto him. And when he saw

  102. him, straightway the spirit tear him,

  103. and he fell on the ground, and wallowed,

  104. foaming. And he asked his father, "How

  105. long is it a ghost since this came unto

  106. him?" And he said, "Of a child, and off

  107. times it cast him into the fire, and

  108. into the waters to destroy him. But if

  109. thou can't do anything, have compassion

  110. on us and help us." Verse 23, Jesus said

  111. unto him, "If thou can't believe, all

  112. things are possible to him that

  113. believeth." I want you to notice with me

  114. in verse number 18, the Bible says that

  115. last phrase of verse 17, he brought unto

  116. him his son, which hath a dumb spirit.

  117. Verse 18, and wheresoever he taketh him,

  118. he teareth him, and he foamth and

  119. nasheth with his teeth and pineth away.

  120. and I spake to thy disciples that they

  121. should cast him out and they could not.

  122. And I want to look this morning out of

  123. this text. We'll preach again here

  124. tonight, Lord willing, whatever God has

  125. for us. That's what I want. But I want

  126. to look out of this text on a thought

  127. out of verse number 18 on the demon

  128. dynamic.

  129. The demon dynamic. Now, you'd be very

  130. foolish this morning to say that demons

  131. are not at work in this world today.

  132. >> Right? They're at work, I dare say, as

  133. hard as they've ever been.

  134. >> And I think if there's anything we ought

  135. to be aware of as the children of God,

  136. we need to be aware of the influence of

  137. the other world.

  138. >> And if you're lost this morning, you

  139. realize that you are a twofold child of

  140. hell this morning.

  141. >> And you cannot You say, "Preacher, I'm

  142. not I'm not possessed. I'm not." You're

  143. You may not be, but the reason you're

  144. not is because you're headed the same

  145. direction they are.

  146. >> They're going to hell. And if you're

  147. lost, you are, too. And we need to pray

  148. that God would help us this morning in

  149. this service. Father, thank you so much

  150. for this time. God, I ask you for

  151. wisdom. I ask you for discernment this

  152. morning. And God, I love to encourage

  153. the people of God. And Lord, I pray,

  154. Father, that Lord, that whatever is

  155. needed, Lord, your will would be

  156. accomplished. God, I realize, Father,

  157. that Lord, you told me in your word that

  158. my responsibility is to repu, reprove,

  159. rebuke, and exhort. And so Lord, I pray

  160. God that you would help me to do just

  161. that this morning. And Lord, to set a

  162. warning, set a watch, God, as the

  163. shepherd of this flock, the

  164. undersheperd. Lord, I pray you would

  165. help me help me say everything I should,

  166. nothing I shouldn't, get all glory to

  167. yourself. And Lord, I pray, Father, for

  168. that sinner here today that's lost

  169. without God. I pray today would be the

  170. day of salvation for them. And Lord, for

  171. maybe one, God, that's grown cold on you

  172. and backsliden from you. I pray that you

  173. would deal with them this morning, draw

  174. them back to a place of fellowship,

  175. Lord, they might enjoy the presence of

  176. God again in their life and not grieve

  177. the Holy Spirit. Help us, God, today,

  178. get all glory yourself. And we'll thank

  179. you for what you do because we ask it in

  180. Jesus name. Amen. And amen. You can be

  181. seated. Thank you for standing with me

  182. this morning. Now, in Sunday school this

  183. morning, if you miss Sunday school, you

  184. missed the introduction to this message.

  185. And I hope that you know this text. I

  186. want to put this out there. All right.

  187. Sunday school is for you. Amen. It's not

  188. just for me to get up here so I can hear

  189. myself talk for another hour. Amen. But

  190. it's for you. I want to be an

  191. encouragement and a help to you. And

  192. when I what I've been doing here lately

  193. is I've been introducing text here

  194. introduction, giving a u a little

  195. thought before we get to the message on

  196. Sunday morning. And I noticed in this

  197. text we talked about the

  198. transfiguration. In Mark 9 deals with

  199. the the uh event of the transfiguration

  200. of Christ. In verse number 2, 3 and 4,

  201. the Bible tells us that Jesus took

  202. Peter, James, and John up in the

  203. mountain, and he transfigures himself in

  204. front of them. They see him exalted.

  205. They see him encompassed by glory. And

  206. they see the expression of who he is in

  207. light of the fact that standing beside

  208. Moses and Elijah, law and prophets.

  209. Amen. The Jesus Christ, the fullness of

  210. everything that the word of God is. He's

  211. completing the puzzle. He is finishing

  212. the image. He is the finished work of

  213. God. He is the will of God, the work of

  214. God, and the witness of God allin one.

  215. Jesus himself here in this text allows

  216. these three men to see this miracle of

  217. holiness. And this miracle expresses to

  218. them his deity and how he is great and

  219. exalted. And let me just say this this

  220. morning. The Bible says there's coming a

  221. day that every knee shall bow and every

  222. tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ

  223. is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

  224. And I'll say this, you may never bow in

  225. this lie, but one of these days you

  226. along with Satan and every other person

  227. in this world is going to bow at his

  228. feet. And Jesus has allowed these three

  229. men to come in on this instance here of

  230. his transfiguration. But out of this,

  231. they descend from the mountain. They

  232. come back down and Jesus finds the other

  233. nine disciples here in the text. And the

  234. Bible says verse 14, when he came to the

  235. disciples, he saw a great multitude

  236. about them and the scribes questioning

  237. with them. So immediately after Jesus

  238. and Peter, James, and John come off the

  239. holy mountain, they are faced with an

  240. argument. This argument here has been

  241. brought by the scribes, of course,

  242. because his disciples that were left

  243. behind were not able to cast the demon

  244. out of the boy in this text. And so

  245. they're arguing over the power that had

  246. been invested in them. And I want to say

  247. this this morning, I'll tell you, let me

  248. just remind you, I talk's cheap.

  249. >> Amen. You can argue all over all kinds

  250. of things. Amen. And there's people,

  251. preachers doing it on Facebook, arguing

  252. over all types of different things. But

  253. here's what it comes down to. At the end

  254. of the day, we're called to preach the

  255. gospel. Amen. And my platform ain't

  256. Meta. Amen. My platform is Meta's

  257. Baptist Church. Amen. That's the pull

  258. pit that God gave me to preach. And I'm

  259. responsible to preach in this pullpit

  260. what God lays upon my heart. Anywhere

  261. else, amen, that's out of my

  262. jurisdiction. And I want to say this

  263. this morning. If you're always wanting

  264. to argue about something, let me just

  265. tell you, that's not God. Amen. God has

  266. never argued with anybody. Amen. God has

  267. always just given the truth and it's

  268. take it or leave it. Amen. And I notice

  269. not only the argument in the text, but I

  270. notice the amazement in the text. There

  271. is the scribes that are arguing with the

  272. disciples. But when Jesus comes back and

  273. verse number 15, the Bible says

  274. straightway all the people when they

  275. beheld him were greatly amazed and

  276. running to him saluted him. And so

  277. obviously as Jesus descended off of this

  278. mountain where he was transfigured,

  279. there must have been some traces of the

  280. glory that was still upon his face. And

  281. you say, "Preacher, how do you know

  282. that?" Well, I don't. But I know this.

  283. The Bible says that when they saw him,

  284. they were all amazed. There was

  285. something about Jesus that was just a

  286. little different than it was the last

  287. time they'd seen him. And you say,

  288. "Preacher, how is that?" Well, you

  289. remember when Moses come off the

  290. mountain in the book of Exodus in

  291. chapter number 33, the Bible says that

  292. he wis not that his face shone. And

  293. those children of Israel looked upon him

  294. and they had he had to cover his face

  295. with a veil because the brightness of

  296. the glory of God that was on his face

  297. was blinding the children of Israel.

  298. Jesus had been in that very same

  299. presence and come off of this mountain.

  300. And they are amazed at the complexion of

  301. our Lord, the brightness of his glory.

  302. And I notice out of this amazement, we

  303. see that there is an appeal. They're all

  304. gathered around to Jesus here in the

  305. text. He asked the scribes, "What

  306. question ye with them?" And in verse 17,

  307. a man speaks up and says, "Master, I

  308. brought unto thee my son, which hath a

  309. dumb spirit." And so there's the

  310. argument of the strides and the

  311. amazement of because of the shining of

  312. Christ's face. But then there is this

  313. man that makes an appeal for his son.

  314. This man's son here in the text is vexed

  315. by a demon. And the Bible says in verse

  316. number 18 or verse 17, he hath a dumb

  317. spirit. So that literally means he's

  318. this this demon that's on him has taken

  319. away his ability to speak. He has no

  320. ability to communicate. But all that

  321. he's able to do is be controlled by this

  322. demon in the text. And you notice what's

  323. said about this demon here. The Bible

  324. says, "And worse he taketh him, he teeth

  325. him, he foamth and nasheth with his

  326. teeth and pineth away. and I spake to

  327. thy disciples that they should cast him

  328. out and they could not. And when I think

  329. about demons in the scripture, often

  330. times my mind only comes to three

  331. accounts. When I look at the New

  332. Testament, there's other instances we

  333. could talk about, but I really believe

  334. you see it prevalent in the life of

  335. Christ because when Christ was here on

  336. this earth, the devil knew that Jesus

  337. was headed to Calvary. And he knew that

  338. if Jesus made it to Calvary and if he

  339. didn't stop him before he got there,

  340. amen, if he didn't stop him in his death

  341. on the cross, if he couldn't stop him

  342. before he rose again the third day, he

  343. knew that his plan was over. Amen. But

  344. we know that during that time, his

  345. period of life on this year on the 33

  346. and a half years on this earth, our Lord

  347. had that the devil unleashed all the

  348. forces that he had available to try to

  349. undermine the work of God.

  350. >> Right? And I want to talk to you about

  351. that this morning. The demon dynamic.

  352. Now, that dynamic literally talks about

  353. a is is a moving force. It's a a if you

  354. look think about dynamics in college,

  355. that's a study of force moving force.

  356. That's what that is. And I notice in

  357. this text, what you always see in the

  358. scripture when there's a demon present,

  359. the demon will not be silent.

  360. >> He's never quiet. And you know, I'll say

  361. this. I'm not saying everybody that

  362. spouts off the mind, Amen, is

  363. demonpossessed.

  364. But I'll say this, it's not a holy thing

  365. for somebody that just lets their tongue

  366. loose all the time.

  367. >> Amen. James said it this way. He said,

  368. "If any man seemth to be religious, am

  369. onion bridleth not his tongue." He said,

  370. "This man's religion is what?" Vain.

  371. Amen. It's empty. And so, I want to give

  372. you a few things out of this text and

  373. put from some other text this morning

  374. concerning this thought. I I notice in

  375. this text about this young man. You see,

  376. there is the harm that's mentioned here

  377. by about this demon, this young man. And

  378. and every time you see an individual who

  379. is possessed or oppressed by a demon in

  380. the scriptures, there is harm that's

  381. involved with that. But I notice

  382. specifically there's some terms that are

  383. used in these verses to describe the

  384. power of this demon here in the text. I

  385. notice first of all when I see in this

  386. text concerning the demon dynamic, I

  387. notice first of all that there is

  388. confusion that's taking place. The Bible

  389. says that this man has brought his son

  390. under the Lord because the disciples did

  391. not have power to cast him out. And the

  392. Bible says that he has he has a dumb

  393. spirit. Now from what I understand of

  394. this text, I I don't believe that this

  395. boy has ever been able to talk. The

  396. Bible says uh in verse number 21, Jesus

  397. asked his father, "How long is it ago

  398. since this came unto him?" And he said,

  399. "Of a child." And so that literally

  400. speaks of a little small baby. And so I

  401. don't I don't know how long that he's

  402. had this. I just know that he's he does

  403. not have the ability to speak and he

  404. should he should have the ability to

  405. speak, but he is not able to speak. And

  406. when I You say, "Preacher, how does that

  407. correlate with the work of demons?"

  408. Well, you see it directly in the text,

  409. but applicationally, you think about the

  410. world in which we live today where young

  411. children are being uh they're being

  412. prayed upon by perverts all across this

  413. country and they're being paraded

  414. through different trafficking

  415. organizations throughout this country.

  416. And what is always done, what is always

  417. seen about those children, what are they

  418. commanded to be? They're commanded to be

  419. in signs. They have no voice. And the

  420. and the marks of devil worship, the

  421. marks of demon oppression is that there

  422. is a dumb spirit. There is a a mark of

  423. silence upon that.

  424. >> It's confusion. You say, "How is it?"

  425. Well, the demon here is very loud, but

  426. the but the boy is real quiet,

  427. >> right?

  428. >> The demon is making his presence known,

  429. but this boy is not able to do anything.

  430. And you say, "Preacher, well, how does

  431. that translate to confusion?" Well, the

  432. Bible says that the enemy, devil

  433. himself, is the author of confusion.

  434. >> And so, he's the father. He's the

  435. author. As Jesus is the the alpha and

  436. the omega, the beginning and the end of

  437. all that is confusion is the authorship

  438. of the devil.

  439. >> Right?

  440. >> Amen. And we've said it before and I'll

  441. say it again. The devil has no new

  442. materials.

  443. >> He can only take what God has made and

  444. corrupt it. So he'll take a per an

  445. individual who has a good sane mind and

  446. you know what he'll do? He'll make them

  447. insane. He'll take a person who has a

  448. good sober mind and a good sober life

  449. and what he'll do? He'll make them

  450. intoxicated. He'll take somebody who has

  451. purity. Somebody help me preach this

  452. morning. He'll take somebody who has

  453. purity and somebody who has perfection

  454. in their life. God has blessed them. And

  455. what will he do? He'll take that purity

  456. from them. He'll take that perfection

  457. from them. and he WILL WRECK WHAT GOD

  458. DESIGNED to be a blessing. It's

  459. confusion is what it is.

  460. >> It's just like over there in the book of

  461. Genesis. Amen. That rebellion of that

  462. man Nimrod built that city and you know

  463. what all it did was it left a bunch of

  464. people with broken lives in a place that

  465. was broken and a and plans that were all

  466. broken and busted up. There was nothing

  467. left behind BECAUSE IT WAS ALL OPERATING

  468. on rebellion. And that's who the devil

  469. himself is. HE IS THE PRINCE of

  470. rebellion. And this young man is

  471. controlled. You say, "Preacher, how is

  472. it that it's is such a small child?"

  473. WELL, LET ME JUST SAY THIS. The devil

  474. does not care what medium he has to use.

  475. >> Right?

  476. >> He'll use anything.

  477. >> And I'll say this, he don't have to use

  478. people much anymore.

  479. >> He just takes what we've got in our

  480. pockets, amen, and on our screens at our

  481. home. Amen. And he does use people, but

  482. he uses just a few select people to

  483. broadcast to the world.

  484. >> You're right. the wickedness that he

  485. desires to confuse people's mind with.

  486. He has a dumb spirit. He's not able to

  487. speak, but he should be able to speak.

  488. Notice this. Not only there is the

  489. confusion, but then there is the control

  490. in the text. Look what the Bible says in

  491. verse 18. What's that first phrase,

  492. church? And wheresoever, what you Bible

  493. say? He taketh him. This demon has not

  494. only brought this boy and his family a

  495. state of confusion because he's not able

  496. to speak, but he has this young man

  497. under control. He is literally in the

  498. grips of this demon itself. And I'm

  499. reminded of what Paul said to the

  500. Ephesian church. He said, "Be not drunk

  501. with wine wherein is excess, but be

  502. filled with the spirit." What was he

  503. talking about? He was talking about that

  504. control of the alcohol over the mind of

  505. an individual who would intake that

  506. drunken uh material into his body and

  507. then he himself becomes controlled by

  508. that influence in his life. And the

  509. demon influence is that same way. It's

  510. an influence OF CONTROL. THERE IS NO WAY

  511. TO escape it when it is present in your

  512. life. That's right.

  513. >> He said he taketh him and out of that

  514. taking his control leads to, notice

  515. this, not only confusion, but it leads

  516. to corruption. The Bible says, "Woroever

  517. he taketh him, he tearth him, and he

  518. foamth him nasheth with his teeth and

  519. pineth away." And and I and I think

  520. about all of that, what he's saying in

  521. this text. Wheresoever he taketh him,

  522. that implies a place. That implies

  523. around people. that implies all types of

  524. other things. But you understand what

  525. this leads up to is is that the the

  526. sanitary the and let let me just put

  527. this in in a sense of of a physical term

  528. so we can understand what I'm getting at

  529. here. There's a gentleman in this church

  530. that just a few months ago he was in a

  531. an accident and and his foot it he it

  532. got tore right between his toes. And out

  533. of that tearing, what happened was he he

  534. went to the doctor and that thing got

  535. sewed up again. But what happened? the

  536. wound was not clean.

  537. >> You know what? Because of that, there

  538. was an infection that set up.

  539. >> And out of that, he has been dealing

  540. with a problem that should have been

  541. fixed in a matter of hours, but he's

  542. been dealing with it for months.

  543. >> And here's what I'll say to you in this

  544. text. The Bible says that this demon, he

  545. teeth him. You think about this young

  546. boy. He's opening, this demon's opening

  547. him up to corruption. You're

  548. >> right.

  549. >> He's opening up to corruption. Here's

  550. what here's what demon influence in your

  551. life will do. It'll open you up to

  552. things that you have no business messing

  553. with.

  554. >> That's right.

  555. >> Amen. When somebody tries to introduce

  556. you to alcohol, when somebody tries to

  557. introduce you to drugs or some type of

  558. of marijuana or or or anything like

  559. that, you know what that is? That's a

  560. demon influence,

  561. >> right?

  562. >> You you've never had that in your life.

  563. You've never been involved with that.

  564. Now, that's come into your life. You

  565. know what that is? That is a demon

  566. influence in your life. He is

  567. introducing you to corruption. This boy

  568. who would have been otherwise healthy.

  569. Get what I'm saying this morning? This

  570. young man who would have been otherwise

  571. healthy because of this demon is now

  572. susceptible to infection.

  573. >> Right?

  574. >> Amen.

  575. >> That's why we got to pray for our

  576. children.

  577. >> Amen. Our children because of the way we

  578. raised them should be otherwise healthy.

  579. Amen. We put them in a good Christian

  580. school. We take them to a good church.

  581. Amen. We read the Bible and we have

  582. family altar and we pray for them. But

  583. you understand, you can't do everything

  584. perfect enough to keep the enemy's

  585. influence OUT OF YOUR CHILDREN'S LIFE.

  586. >> YOU CAN'T DO ENOUGH. You can't be

  587. enough. IT DOES NOT MATTER. The enemy is

  588. going to find a crack in the door

  589. somewhere to get through to influence

  590. your children so he can slip corruption

  591. into their lives.

  592. >> Notice the text. He take if he teareth

  593. him. literally speaks of the harm of his

  594. flesh and and he falth and nashethth

  595. with his teeth. He's crazed. His mind is

  596. loose. HE HAS NO CONTROL because he's

  597. under complete control

  598. of this corrupt individual. I think not

  599. only about the confusion, the control,

  600. the corruption, but I think about the

  601. consummation. You see this demon's got a

  602. got an end goal in mind. You say, "What

  603. is that, preacher?" Well, notice the

  604. text. You see this harm is described in

  605. verse number 18. He is his his flesh is

  606. tor. He's foing at the mouth. He is

  607. nashing with his teeth. The Bible says,

  608. notice that last phrase, verse 18, the

  609. middle of verse, and he pineth away.

  610. He's getting weaker by the day. You know

  611. what? That's what that's what sin

  612. corrupts. That's what what demon

  613. influence will do to you.

  614. >> You get weaker every day.

  615. >> You know what? You'll find the thing

  616. that you once had to really, really try

  617. hard to get involved with, you'll just

  618. find it just happens naturally.

  619. >> You're right.

  620. >> Amen.

  621. >> Anybody will tell you this, it's a good

  622. illustration, but when you get out of

  623. church, it's always easier to leave

  624. >> than it is to come back,

  625. >> right?

  626. >> It's always easier to get out than it is

  627. to get back in.

  628. >> You see, his the end of his goal is to

  629. consume

  630. this young man. You say, "Preacher,

  631. WELL, HOW DO YOU KNOW that this demon's

  632. going to take his life?" Well, his harm

  633. is described in verse 17 and 18. His

  634. harm is displayed in verse 20. Notice

  635. what the Bible said. "And they brought

  636. him unto him," speaking of Jesus. "And

  637. when he saw him, when Jesus saw this

  638. young man, straightway the spirit tear

  639. him, and he fell on the ground and

  640. wallowed foaming." You see, the display

  641. matched the description. Everything that

  642. the daddy had told Jesus about when

  643. Jesus came near, you know what this

  644. demon did? exactly what the daddy had

  645. said. And let me say this, when Jesus

  646. gets near that demon influence, when

  647. Jesus gets near that demon oppression,

  648. you know what? They're not going to sit

  649. there.

  650. >> They're not going to BE SILENT. THEY'RE

  651. NOT GOING TO STEP BACK, BUT THEY'RE

  652. GOING TO REAR UP THEIR POWER. You ever

  653. seen somebody that in the face of truth,

  654. they always want to stand up in

  655. rebellion? THEY ALWAYS WANT TO STAND UP

  656. and speak out and they'll spew the most

  657. awful, wicked things from their mouth

  658. and spew some OF THE MOST UNGODLY THINGS

  659. that could ever COME OUT OF ANYBODY'S

  660. LIPS. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS? THAT'S

  661. DEMON INFLUENCE IS what that is.

  662. >> The spirit tear him. He fell on the

  663. ground. His harm is displayed. But

  664. notice the destruction of his harm.

  665. Well, look what look how it said in

  666. verse 21 and 22. And he asked his

  667. father, "How long is it ago since this

  668. came unto him?" And he said, "Of a

  669. child." Verse 22. and all times it have

  670. cast him into the fire and into the

  671. waters. What's that next phrase? To

  672. destroy him. He's trying to get rid of

  673. him.

  674. >> Right.

  675. >> This he says, I've had to get him out of

  676. fires and I've had to get him out of

  677. waters from drowning. I've had to save

  678. him from being burned alive because this

  679. demon desires to destroy him. And let me

  680. say this to you. We can rejoice. And and

  681. I'll say this in this text. This demon

  682. was not able to destroy this boat. And

  683. I'm thankful, amen, that we all, thank

  684. God, we can have deliverance because of

  685. Jesus Christ. And I'm going to say more

  686. about that in this evening's service.

  687. BUT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT'S NOT ALWAYS THE

  688. CASE.

  689. >> RIGHT?

  690. >> Not everybody WHO IS INFLUENCED BY the

  691. devil OR DEMONS MAKES IT OUT.

  692. >> RIGHT?

  693. >> You say, "How is that, preacher? Have

  694. you got some kind of personal example?"

  695. Well, it is a personal example. It's a

  696. scriptural example. That's

  697. >> right.

  698. >> Amen. When I think about demon

  699. oppression in the word of God, there's

  700. at least three individuals that come to

  701. mind. One being this young man. Jesus

  702. delivers him in this text because the

  703. desire of his father to deliver him.

  704. Jesus meets the intercessory prayer of

  705. that father. Let me say this this

  706. morning. YOU GOT TO BE PRAYING FOR YOUR

  707. CHILDREN. YOU GOT TO BE PRAYING FOR YOUR

  708. FAMILY. HEY CHILD, YOU MAY BE SAVED AND

  709. YOUR PARENTS ARE LOST. YOU GOT TO BE

  710. PRAYING FOR YOUR PARENTS THAT GOD WOULD

  711. DEAL WITH THEM BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY

  712. ONE THAT'S ABLE TO DEFEAT THE VOICE OF

  713. THE DEVIL IN THEIR LIFE.

  714. >> HIS INTERCESSORY PRAYER BROUGHT

  715. DELIVERANCE. But you know what? There's

  716. another man in the Bible that found

  717. deliverance. Turn with me to Luke

  718. chapter number eight.

  719. Jesus makes a journey across the sea

  720. just to meet this man. Luke chapter 8

    Luke 8 chapter mention

  721. and verse number 26. And they arrived at

  722. the country of the Gatherines, which is

  723. over against Galilee. And when he went

  724. forth to land, there met him out of the

  725. city, a certain man, which had devils

  726. long time, and wear no clothes, neither

  727. abode in any house, but in the tombs.

  728. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell

  729. down before him, and with a loud voice

  730. said, "What have I do to do with thee,

  731. Jesus, thou son of God most high? I

  732. beseech thee, torment me not." And Jesus

  733. tells the story of how this young this

  734. young man in the text, the Bible says he

  735. was possessed with demons running about

  736. in the tombs. He had a legion of demons

  737. within him. And after Jesus casted THOSE

  738. DEMONS OUT, THEY went into that herd of

  739. swine. 2,000 demons took out a whole

  740. herd of swine and they drowned in the

  741. lake. YOU SAY, "PREACHER, WHAT ARE YOU

  742. SAYING?" I'm saying everywhere there's a

  743. demon involved. THERE'S GOING TO BE

  744. DEATH INVOLVED. AMEN.

  745. You say, "Preacher, but that other boy

  746. didn't die." Well, look at the text with

  747. me again.

  748. Mark chapter 9 verse 26.

    Mark 9:26

  749. Bible said, "And the spirit cried when

  750. Jesus spoke to him and ran him sore and

  751. came out of him and he was as one dead

  752. in so much that many said he is dead."

  753. But Jesus Jesus took him by the hand and

  754. lifted him up and he arose.

  755. >> Amen. You see, his life was near death.

  756. The gatherinian man would have died, but

  757. those swine died.

  758. >> Right?

  759. >> You say, "What's the emphasis of that,

  760. preacher?" Well, this young boy got

  761. delivered. That man and the gatherines,

  762. he got delivered. But you know what? The

  763. most notable possessed man in the New

  764. Testament, he didn't get deliverance.

  765. You say, "Who is that, preacher? I can't

  766. think of another." Well, you might know

  767. him as the betrayer.

  768. know him as the one that Jesus spoke of

  769. called him the son of predition.

  770. Listen to what Jesus said in John 13.

  771. John 13 and verse number one. Now before

  772. the feast of the Passover when Jesus

  773. knew that his hour was come that he

  774. should depart out of this world unto the

  775. father having loved his own which were

  776. in the world he loved them unto the end.

  777. Jesus knew his plan was drawn to a

  778. close. And in verse number two, the

  779. Bible says, "And supper being ended,"

  780. notice this, "the devil having now put

  781. into the heart of Judas's Scariot,

  782. Simon's son, to betray him." You see,

  783. Jesus tells us that the devil entered

  784. into Simon. You can look at the account,

  785. I believe it's Luke's Gospel, chapter 22

  786. and verse number three. I think it's

  787. where it is, but it literally says, "And

  788. Satan entered Jesus." Entered Judas. You

  789. say, "Preacher, what is that?" Well, we

  790. think about Judas. You turn to Matthew

  791. chapter number 27. The Bible says that

  792. he they betrayed he betrayed the Lord

  793. for those 30 pieces of silver. You

  794. remember Matthew 27, the first part of

  795. the chapter, he comes back to the chief

  796. priest and he throws that money down at

  797. their feet and said, "I've I've sinned

  798. and that I've betrayed the innocent

  799. blood." The Bible says he repented

  800. himself, but it didn't mean that he

  801. repented of his sin, but he was

  802. remorseful over what he did,

  803. >> right?

  804. >> Not really wanting to believe the Lord,

  805. but he was just sorry. And so in that

  806. text, he throwed the money down and and

  807. the Bible says that those Pharisees took

  808. that money. They went and bought the

  809. field of blood there. According to the

  810. book of Acts, chapter number one, they

  811. purchased that field, Peter said, with a

  812. reward of iniquity is what he called it.

  813. And out of that reward of iniquity, the

  814. Bible says that after Judas left that

  815. money, he went to he went outside of

  816. town and he hung himself in a tree,

  817. killed himself. You say, "Preacher,

  818. what's the end of demon influence?"

  819. Well, you see, the devil took Judas out.

  820. You know, I You don't have to agree with

  821. me on this this morning, but I believe

  822. Judas could have gotten saved. I believe

  823. that. I'll say this. I don't think that

  824. I don't think that he ever would have

  825. because Jesus knew his heart. Jesus

  826. looked at him. He knew he was he called

  827. him friend. He loved him. Even though

  828. it's hard for us to understand that

  829. Jesus loved the devil.

  830. He was that individual of worship in

  831. heaven, Lucifer. How art thou fallen

  832. from heaven, thou son of the morning,

  833. right?

  834. >> He said that, "You're the most beautiful

  835. creature until iniquity was found in

  836. thee." But I believe Judas could have

  837. gotten saved. And what a story of

  838. redemption that would have been.

  839. >> But you know what? The devil had to

  840. finish him off,

  841. >> right? I believe that Judas could have

  842. been forgiven, but because of the demon

  843. influence in his life, Judas, when he

  844. throwed that money down, the devil

  845. convinced him that it was over

  846. >> and he went outside of town and he hung

  847. himself.

  848. >> You know, I'll say this to you this

  849. morning. You said, "Preacher, I'm not

  850. going to let any demon influence me."

  851. >> Well, here's the thing about that this

  852. morning. No, you probably won't

  853. willfully. But I'll say this, he doesn't

  854. care who you are,

  855. >> right?

  856. >> He doesn't care how young you are.

  857. You're

  858. >> right.

  859. >> He doesn't care how old you are. He

  860. doesn't care how much Bible you know. He

  861. doesn't care anything about you,

  862. >> right?

  863. >> Or anybody else for that matter.

  864. >> Right.

  865. >> And this is what he knows. If he can get

  866. you going his direction,

  867. >> you say, "Preacher, what is that? I'm

  868. not a drunkard. I I'm not a I'm I'm not

  869. a I'm not a drunkard. I'm not a

  870. fornicator. I'm not an adulterer. I'm

  871. not a homosexual. I'm not. I'm not. I'm

  872. not. But here's the problem about that.

  873. If you if you've never been saved, it

  874. don't matter how much stuff you don't

  875. do.

  876. >> Right?

  877. >> It don't matter how good of a moral

  878. person you are.

  879. >> That's right.

  880. >> You know why he don't bother you? Is

  881. because you're headed the same direction

  882. he is.

  883. >> Right.

  884. >> The reason why you don't feel NO

  885. OPPRESSION IS BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING THE

  886. SAME WAY. WHEN YOU GO AGAINST the grain

  887. on something, you know what? It ain't

  888. comfortable, is it?

  889. >> Right. Right.

  890. >> You know why? It don't feel like there's

  891. any opposition in your life. When I got

  892. saved, man, I was introduced to an enemy

  893. that I'd never seen before.

  894. >> Right,

  895. >> man. I could tell you the story of my

  896. life and and and tell you things of how

  897. I've seen him try to work against me.

  898. And I've seen it in just recent days,

  899. how he would love to just shut out the

  900. light of God.

  901. >> But here's what I come back to in my

  902. thoughts. You know, I'm thankful that we

  903. believe this from the scripture that a

  904. saved person cannot be possessed

  905. because we're possessed by the Lord

  906. Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit of God

  907. lives inside of us. We're not our own.

  908. We're bought with a price.

  909. >> Jesus, the Holy Ghost, the person of the

  910. spirit of God lives on the inside. But

  911. I'll tell you this, you can grieve the

  912. Holy Spirit and be oppressed,

  913. >> right?

  914. >> By a devil. You say, "How is that?"

  915. Well, you remember the Bible says over

  916. there in the book of Peter, I'm just

  917. giving you scripture this morning. I

  918. could give you personal examples. I

  919. could give you all that, but you

  920. understand that ain't going to help you.

  921. Okay? The Bible says that Lot when he

  922. was down at Sodom and Gomorra, the Bible

  923. says he vexed his righteous soul, you

  924. know what that was doing? He was

  925. willingly suspecting himself

  926. to demon influence.

  927. >> Right?

  928. >> He willfully allowed himself looking at

  929. that filth every day of his life. He

  930. vexed himself by seeing and hearing. The

  931. Bible says their unrighteous deeds.

  932. And this is the greatest sin we have in

  933. this day and time is the sin of

  934. fornication.

  935. >> And you know it goes on in public, but

  936. I'll tell you where it's at. It's on the

  937. telephone,

  938. >> right?

  939. >> That's where it's at.

  940. It would blow our minds to know how many

  941. people have been involved with it even

  942. today.

  943. >> You're right.

  944. >> You say, "How is that, preacher?" Well,

  945. it's what's killing us. Because here

  946. here's the thing about it's demon

  947. influence.

  948. >> Right?

  949. >> God said Lot. Peter said, "Lot vexed his

  950. righteous soul in seeing and hearing

  951. >> their unlawful." He vexed his righteous

  952. soul with their unlawful deeds in seeing

  953. and hear. You can turn there and look

  954. look at Peter. That's what he said. And

  955. so it's not it's not just your

  956. relationships with people, but it's what

  957. you allow yourself to intake.

  958. >> You're right.

  959. >> Through your eyes, through your ears.

  960. >> And here's what'll happen to you. Your

  961. life will end in destruction.

  962. >> Amen.

  963. >> You're right.

  964. >> If you do not allow the Lord Jesus

  965. Christ to give you victory.

  966. >> Amen. Now, I've left a lot of this out.

  967. We're going to preach the rest of it

  968. tonight. This is the message I want to

  969. get want you to get today. You do not

  970. have the power in your flesh to defeat

  971. the enemy.

  972. >> Right. Amen.

  973. >> You can't put up enough walls. You can't

  974. have enough accountability. And I

  975. believe in walls. And I believe in

  976. accountability. And probably more than

  977. anybody else in this room, I've got more

  978. than anybody else. And I'm not saying

  979. that pridefully, but I just know how

  980. sorry I am. Okay? Can I just be real

  981. with you? I've got walls in my life

  982. that's high. I've got accountability

  983. that's high. My wife, my wife's password

  984. and my password to our phones are

  985. exactly the same, aren't they?

  986. >> Right.

  987. >> We have open lines of communication. She

  988. knows more about me than any other

  989. individual in this world.

  990. >> And I wouldn't change a thing about it.

  991. >> That's right.

  992. >> I have I have all of that. But I'll say

  993. this, all it takes is one moment of

  994. weakness.

  995. >> You're right.

  996. >> Amen.

  997. one

  998. one decision

  999. one one time the devil says all you

1000. nobody know nobody's going to know

  1001. >> come on

  1002. >> nobody's going to see that

1003. and before you know it what what was

1004. just a moment of confusion

1005. led to him ultimately controlling you

  1006. >> right

1007. >> corrupting your life and then consuming

1008. you eternally you say preacher but if

  1009. I'm saved I can't be consumed eternally.

1010. You know, the Bible talks about

1011. John said it this way. He said uh he

1012. said, "My little children abide in him."

1013. 1 John 2, he said, "My little children

1014. abide in him that when he shall appear

1015. that we may have confidence and not be

1016. ashamed before him at his coming."

  1017. That's

  1018. >> right.

1019. >> You know, I'd hate to know that I wasted

  1020. my life.

1021. >> Come on. as a child of God

  1022. >> and I'll enter heaven and I would I

1023. would enter heaven enter the presence of

1024. God ashamed because of the way I live my

1025. life down here you say preacher but all

1026. tears are going to be wiped away but

1027. what about when we get those rewards

1028. >> what about when the crowns are given

1029. what about when you walk through that

1030. fire and all the works of the flesh are

  1031. burned up

  1032. >> right

1033. >> and what you come out the other side

1034. with is all that's going to be left and

1035. you come out the other side and all that

1036. wood hay and devil's burned up and

1037. you're left with nothing to put at the

  1038. feet of Jesus. I don't know how I don't

  1039. I don't see how I could not cry.

1040. I don't see how I could think to myself

1041. all that he's done for me and I have

  1042. nothing

  1043. nothing to offer him.

1044. Every head bowed and every eye closed

  1045. this morning.

  1046. You're here and you're lost this

  1047. morning.

1048. You don't know what I'm talking about.

1049. Okay? The demon influence in your life

1050. is going to destroy you.

1051. And the reason this is so serious is

1052. because Jesus could come today.

1053. He could come in the next five minutes.

1054. And you know what? Demon influence right

1055. now for you sinner is not that you

1056. would, you know, go look at pornography

1057. or that you would go get a beer and turn

1058. it up or that you'd go smoke a joint.

1059. demon influence for you right now is

  1060. saying you're okay.

  1061. It's saying you're fine. You don't need

1062. what that preacher's offering you. You

1063. don't need that blood. You don't NEED

1064. THAT GOSPEL. YOU'RE all right. You can

1065. go out of here and you you can come to

1066. church every now and again. God will

1067. judge your good works and your good

1068. works will outweigh your bad. You know

1069. what that is? That's a demon influence.

1070. THE HOLY GHOST OF GOD IS SPEAKING TO

1071. YOUR HEART and he's saying, "I love you.

1072. Jesus died for you." And God the Father

  1073. says, "Come."

1074. And at the end of the day,

  1075. you've got a choice.

1076. Are you going to allow that little voice

1077. tell you you're all right?

1078. Are you going to listen to the voice of

  1079. God that says

1080. you need to be saved?

1081. You say, "Preacher, how do I know the

1082. difference?" Well, I can say this to you

1083. with assurance this morning. If you have

1084. never asked the Lord Jesus Christ to

1085. forgive you of your sins and save you.

1086. If you've never asked him, if you've

1087. never trusted him by faith, if you have

1088. never asked the Lord, "Please forgive me

1089. and save me, Lord Jesus."

1090. If you've never done that, you're lost.

1091. If you have never done that, you are

1092. lost. You say, "Preacher, I've done

1093. that. I'VE PRAYED A PRAYER, BUT NOTHING

1094. EVER CHANGED. NOTHING WAS EVER

1095. DIFFERENT." YOU WANT TO know the

1096. difference between the voice of God and

1097. the voice of en the enemy in your life?

1098. God looks at you and he says, "I love

  1099. you."

1100. The enemy says you're worthless.

1101. The enemy says you're not valuable.

1102. You have no worth. You're the sorryest

  1103. human being alive.

  1104. You don't need what he's got.

1105. And what'll happen is if you walk out of

1106. these door lost today and he's told you

1107. you're okay. You know what? The moment

1108. you walk through those doors, he's going

1109. to try to give you some false comfort.

1110. Well, you went to church today.

1111. All the while, Jesus is saying, "Come."

1112. The voice of God and the voice of the

  1113. enemy

  1114. in your life

1115. could be the thing that

1116. changes your destiny. You say,

1117. "Preacher, how is that?" Well, you

1118. realize that I would have never heard

1119. the voice of God if I hadn't heard the

  1120. voice of the enemy.

1121. You say, "How is that, preacher?" Well,

1122. that night that I got saved, 7 years

1123. old, God spoke to my heart and said,

1124. "Son, you need to be saved." And the

  1125. enemy said, "You're a preacher's kid.

  1126. You're all right."

1127. But you know what? God said, "That

  1128. doesn't matter.

1129. It ain't about your mom and it ain't

  1130. about your daddy.

1131. It's not about none of these people that

1132. you're sitting around, but son, I love

1133. you and I want to save you. And if Jesus

1134. is speaking, if the Holy Ghost is

  1135. convicting your heart

1136. and telling you right now that he loves

1137. you and he wants to save you and he's

1138. showing you that you don't have to go to

1139. hell, you know, I do, if I was you, I'd

1140. get up and I'd run.

  1141. I wouldn't wait another second.

1142. It doesn't matter what anybody thinks.

  1143. Doesn't matter how long you've been a

1144. member of this church. Doesn't matter

1145. how much work you've done because there

1146. ain't no amount of works that you can do

1147. to save you. It matters that you know if

1148. you were to die right now that you would

  1149. go to heaven.

1150. A good way to know that God's speaking

  1151. to you

1152. is that that preached word for the first

1153. time in your life's making sense.

1154. For the first time in your life, you're

1155. realizing that I really don't got what

  1156. he's talking about.

  1157. You say, "Preacher, I'm here and I I

  1158. don't know that I'm saved. Preacher, I'm

  1159. having a hard time. I don't know.

1160. Would you be honest enough? Nobody's

1161. looking around but me, but to raise your

  1162. hand,

1163. say, "Preacher, would you pray for me?

  1164. I'm not saved."

1165. Be honest between you and God. Just

1166. raise your hand up. I'll pray for you

1167. this morning. Nobody's looking around.

1168. Some of you, it's written all over your

  1169. face.

  1170. God knows your heart.

  1171. And I don't I wouldn't scare you for

1172. nothing, but I want to tell you this

1173. might be the last opportunity.

1174. >> Do not miss it.

  1175. Don't miss it.

1176. For those of you that are saved this

  1177. morning,

1178. the most precious truth that we have

1179. is that when the devil gets so loud in

1180. our mind, we have a book

1181. >> that we can come back to where God's

  1182. words are written down.

  1183. They're settled in heaven. They're a

1184. lamp to our feet and a light to our

1185. path. And if we'll just read his word,

1186. God will speak. And he cannot. The

1187. devil, listen to me, child of God. The

1188. devil cannot overcome the word of God.

1189. The Bible says re book of Revelation,

1190. they overcame him by the blood of the

1191. lamb and by the word of their testimony.

1192. You know what that is? That's the word

  1193. of God.

1194. He cannot overcome the word of God. If

1195. you take him to that Bible when Jesus

1196. was tempted, you know what he did? He

1197. took that Bible and he said, "Devil, you

1198. got no business talking to me that way."

1199. You know what? You ought to do the same

  1200. thing. Father,

1201. Lord, I thank you for this time this

1202. morning. Not trying to drag the

1203. invitation out this morning. I just feel

1204. like somebody needs to be saved today.

1205. God, I pray you'd please deal with their

1206. heart because Lord, this truth about the

1207. influence of the demonic world is real.

1208. God, we see it in all of our lives.

1209. Lord, would you help us, God, as your

1210. church to be aware of it, but God, also

1211. to be attendant to your voice, Lord,

1212. it's not that we need to uh Lord, learn

1213. the voice of the enemy, God, we don't

1214. need to do that. We need to learn your

1215. voice. And Lord, when we know your voice

1216. the way we should, God, we'll know when

1217. it's not you. Lord, would you help us to

1218. be obedient to you, Lord? I pray for

1219. that and it's here today and lost. God,

1220. I know you wouldn't put this on my heart

1221. if there wasn't somebody here today

  1222. that's lost. God, I pray you'd deal with

1223. them. Draw them unto yourself,

1224. Lord. For those that are backslid and

1225. drawn back to a place of repentance

1226. and help us, help us all to be obedient

1227. to you. Lord, I love you. Thank you for

1228. loving us. We ask it all in Jesus name.

  1229. God's children say it.
