  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God.

  9. I appreciate faithful men and uh

  10. that uh have earned their honor and uh

  11. believe as Paul said them that rule well

  12. are worthy of double honor and uh and

  13. you you honor the man of God today.

  14. Thank you. Thank you preacher for your

  15. faithful service through the years. And

  16. u I tell you what, we got to stay with

  17. it. Amen. Got to stay with it. And I

  18. love how the Lord puts things together.

  19. Acts chapter number 26. And I want to

  20. read just three verses. If you will,

  21. when you find your place, if you would

  22. stand. Uh I know what time it is, but

  23. you'll be all right. Somebody say amen.

  24. >> And uh we're going to preach just as

  25. long as the Lord wants us to. And uh be

  26. honest with you, I didn't preach

  27. Wednesday. I didn't preach last Sunday.

  28. And uh just sort of feel weird just to

  29. be real honest with you. Uh but uh I

  30. tell you what, I'm glad to be back. And

  31. I'll say this, and I told you this last

  32. Sunday. I tell you this again, you ain't

  33. gonna hear any better preaching we heard

  34. last Sunday.

  35. >> You ain't. Amen. And uh I appreciate the

  36. man of God coming and sharing the word

  37. of God with us. And uh but I'm here and

  38. I'm going to preach. I'm going to do my

  39. best. All right. So listen. All right.

  40. So let's look in the text. Acts chapter

    Acts 26 chapter mention

  41. 26. Did you find your place? Say amen.

  42. >> Amen.

  43. >> Acts chapter 26. Notice verse number 27.

    Acts 26 chapter mention

  44. Acts chap 26 verse number 27. This is

  45. the apostle Paul speaking in the text.

  46. He says, "King Agria, believest thou the

  47. prophets? I know that thou believest."

  48. Verse 28, "Then Agria said unto Paul,

  49. almost thou persuadeest me to be a

  50. Christian." There's been a lot of

  51. preaching down through the years done on

  52. that verse. Almost. I tell you what,

  53. it's a tragedy that so many people have

  54. been to that place where it was an

  55. almost. But you know what? A almost

  56. ain't going to get you into heaven.

  57. >> Listen to what the Bible said in verse

  58. 29. This is the thought for today. And

  59. Paul said, 'I would to God that not only

  60. thou, but also all that hear me this day

  61. were both almost and all together,

  62. notice these next four words, such as I

  63. am, except these bonds.

  64. And uh I want to pray, ask the Lord to

  65. help us, give you the introduction, then

  66. we'll give you the thought this morning.

  67. You pray for me as we go to the Lord in

  68. prayer. Father, thank you so much for

  69. this great day, for your great

  70. blessings, for the spirit of God that's

  71. on the inside, for the power that he

  72. gives. And Lord, we ask Lord right now

  73. that you would remove the flesh far from

  74. us. Clothe us in our calling. Father, I

  75. ask you, Lord, that you would anoint me

  76. with the Holy Ghost of God. set a watch

  77. about my lips of clay this morning that

  78. I'd say nothing that I ought not say but

  79. everything that you would have me to say

  80. and that you alone would get glory out

  81. of this service. I pray that we would

  82. see no man save Jesus only and that you

  83. would help us to receive with meekness

  84. the engrafted word. Open our eyes that

  85. we may behold wondrous things in thy

  86. law. And God, I pray more than anything

  87. this morning, Lord, that you would be

  88. exalted and this church, Lord, would be

  89. edified and strengthened for the work

  90. that you've called us to do. Lord, would

  91. you help us this morning? We pray. Save

  92. the sinner nearest hell. And for what

  93. you do, we'll thank you for it because

  94. we ask it in Jesus name. God's children

  95. said, "Amen. Thank you for standing. You

  96. may be seated this morning." Acts

    Acts 26 chapter mention

  97. chapter 26 opens up to us the passage of

  98. the apostle Paul and his meeting with

  99. King Agrippa who is the ruler over the

  100. Jews at this point in time and the book

  101. of acts. Paul has completed his first

  102. and his second missionary journeys at

  103. this point and he had set his heart

  104. toward Jerusalem and when he went there

  105. the Holy Ghost made him aware of the

  106. fact that bonds and affliction he said

  107. himself would abide him. when he got

  108. there. And that's exactly what happened.

  109. They placed him in hold when he arrived

  110. there and they began to afflict him. And

  111. really in in every case that they tried

  112. to bring against him, they could bring

  113. no accusation that had any proof with

  114. it. I want to say this this morning, if

  115. you're living right this morning and

  116. doing right, there is nothing the world

  117. can do about that. And you ought to

  118. thank God for it. And you ought to

  119. rejoice. Amen. You may have everybody

  120. against you, but I'll tell you this. If

  121. you do right, Amen. If the world falls,

  122. just do right. And let me say this,

  123. it'll be all right come the end. Amen.

  124. But I notice in this text that Paul has

  125. come to agria here in the text and the

  126. Bible reveals to us. He has given his

  127. testimony here in the text. We're going

  128. to look back at that in just a few

  129. minutes. But I notice here in the text

  130. that Paul mentions the prophets. Now

  131. verse 27, he says, "King Agria,

  132. believest thou the prophets. I I know

  133. that thou believest. This man Agrippa

  134. was a wise man in Jewish culture. He was

  135. a man who was schooled in Jewish custom.

  136. The Bible literally tells us that in the

  137. beginning of the chapter and Agria had

  138. learned all of this so he could be

  139. prepared to be king. And Paul says,

  140. "Look, I know you've read it. You've

  141. seen it. You know, Grippa that this is

  142. true and you believe." In verse 28, Paul

  143. here, Regria makes his response to Paul.

  144. After he mentions the prophets, those

  145. those prophecies that were given of

  146. Christ, he p he speaks of his

  147. persuasion. In verse 28, look what the

  148. Bible says. Then a group of said unto

  149. Paul, almost thou persuadest me to be a

  150. Christian. Or such to say on the

  151. intellectual side, the Apostle Paul, you

  152. have laid the case so well that it is

  153. definitely indeed uh striking to me that

  154. this is true. And he says, "Almost, you

  155. persuade me to be a Christian." I'll say

  156. this this morning. It does not matter

  157. how much intellectual ability you have

  158. to lay the case before a sinner until

  159. the Holy Ghost of God deals with their

  160. heart and opens to them the word of God

  161. and reveals to them that they have need

  162. of salvation. They will not come to

  163. Jesus. Amen. And we see that though

  164. there was persuasion in the text, there

  165. was no profession here in the text from

  166. this man Agria. And I believe by this

  167. text unless a grippa somewhere along

  168. last way later on got saved. He's in

  169. hell this very morning and he is there

  170. burning. But that's not the message this

  171. morning. I want you to notice verse

  172. number 29. Paul's response to a gripper.

  173. Look what the Bible says. He said, "I

  174. would to God that not only thou, but

  175. also all that hear me this day were both

  176. almost and alltogether

  177. such as I am."

  178. You say, "Preacher, what does that

  179. mean?" Well, Paul says basically, in

  180. other words, he says, "I wish that I

  181. could give you what I've got."

  182. Amen. And from this preacher's heart

  183. this morning, I wish I could give you

  184. what I've got. I want to preach on this

  185. thought for just a little while this

  186. morning on I've got something that's

  187. real.

  188. Paul said in the text, he said, "I would

  189. to God that not only thou, not only you,

  190. Agrippa, but everybody that listens."

  191. Agria's wife was there, Fesus was there,

  192. all these others that are gathered

  193. around. Paul says, "I would to God that

  194. everybody in this building," he said,

  195. "not," he said, "We're not both almost

  196. and all together." He said, "All the way

  197. just as I am, such as I am, except these

  198. bonds." Paul says, "I wish every one of

  199. you saved."

  200. I want to say this to you this morning.

  201. And I wish everybody in here had what I

  202. got.

  203. >> Amen.

  204. >> Right.

  205. >> BUT YOU SAY, "PREACHER, WHAT IS IT

  206. THAT'S REAL? How how can I know what

  207. I've got is real?"

  208. >> I think there's five things in this

  209. chapter that we can take directly from

  210. the text that'll tell us whether or not

  211. what you've got's real. I want to say

  212. this. If you ain't got something real in

  213. this day and time, you ain't going to

  214. make it.

  215. >> John said it this way in his epistle,

  216. brother Codwell. He said, "They went out

  217. from us because they what? They were not

  218. of us." Amen. And if you're not real

  219. this morning, you're not going to make

  220. it to very far in this race. And when I

  221. look at this text, I'm reminded Paul

  222. gives his testimony over and over and

  223. over again. And he tells the story here

  224. this morning. And and I want to

  225. highlight just five things this morning

  226. quickly and we'll be done this morning.

  227. I know what time it is. Just buckle up.

  228. All right? We going to preach. All

  229. right? It's been a week. Somebody say,

  230. "Amen. I'm going to turn loose for a few

  231. minutes if nothing else. Amen. I notice

  232. in this text, if what we got's real,

  233. there's a place where it's going to have

  234. to start. You know what? I believe in

  235. this text, Paul reveals to us, number

  236. one, that there must be, if it's going

  237. to be real, there must be a supernatural

  238. conversion.

  239. >> Say, "What do you mean, preacher?" Well,

  240. the Bible says here in the text after

  241. Paul describes, we mentioned it in

  242. Sunday school, he describes his will to

  243. them in verse 9, that he thought to do

  244. many things contrary to Jesus Christ of

  245. Nazareth. His works is described in

  246. verse number 10 that he put saints to

  247. death. He punished them often. Verse

  248. number 11, verse 12, he was on his way

  249. to Damascus. You know, he had those

  250. letters of approval from the chief

  251. priest in his hand to persecute

  252. Christians. And we notice that after his

  253. will and his works, he is working

  254. against the kingdom of God and standing

  255. against Jesus. You see, there was one

  256. day that a wonder met him right before

  257. his eyes. In verse 13, he said, "At

  258. midday, oh king, I saw in the way a

  259. light from heaven above the brightness

  260. of the sun, shining round about me, and

  261. with them which journey with me." And

  262. notice the word that was given unto him.

  263. And when we were all fallen to the

  264. earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me

  265. and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul,

  266. Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is

  267. hard for thee to kick against the

  268. priests. You say, preacher, what is

  269. that? Well, that day on the Damascus

  270. ROAD, PAUL MET FACE TO FACE WITH THE

  271. VERY WORD OF GOD HIMSELF. AMEN. Jesus

  272. Christ incarnate showed up in his way of

  273. life. Amen. LET ME SAY THIS. JESUS WOULD

  274. HAVE HAD JUST AS MUCH RIGHT TO TAKE HIS

  275. LIFE ON DAMASCUS ROAD. But friend, HE

  276. DIDN'T TAKE HIS LIFE. HE SAVED HIS LIFE.

  277. AMEN. Because the son of man came to

  278. give life and life more abundantly. And

  279. there on that road that day, that light

  280. that shined from heaven shine down into

  281. the heart of THE APOSTLE BY PAUL WHO

  282. THEN WAS SAUL. AMEN. And in the text,

  283. the Bible says that this word brought

  284. about salvation. Verse 15, notice what

  285. your Bible SAID. PAUL SAID, "WHO ART

  286. THOU LORD?"

  287. You see, he was calling that one he was

  288. looking at

  289. >> Lord. I've had people ask me this,

  290. "Preacher, where was it that Paul prayed

  291. and asked Jesus to forgive him?" Well,

  292. you see, it's all wrapped up in that

  293. word Lord.

  294. >> Right?

  295. >> You see, when he heard the word of God,

  296. it wasn't time to pray. He knew what

  297. he'd done.

  298. >> Amen. When he heard the word of God, he

  299. knew exactly who was speaking. So you

  300. know what his response was? Lord,

  301. >> you see he revealed in this text the

  302. repentance in his heart. You say, "What

  303. is that?" Well, for a conversion number,

  304. the first thing that there's got to be

  305. Christ has got to be present. Hey

  306. friend, if you've got saved, you ain't

  307. got saved by any other person or any

  308. other book. Amen. Than Christ the word

  309. himself. Amen. For whosoever shall call

  310. upon the name of the Lord, what is that

  311. name? That is Jesus Christ. Amen. PETER

  312. SAID IT THIS WAY IN ACTS CHAPTER 4. For

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  313. there's none other name under heaven

  314. given AMONG MEN WHEREBY YOU MUST BE

  315. SAVED WHICH IS Jesus Christ. Amen. That

  316. is the one who is present for his

  317. conversion. And out of Christ being

  318. present there was a change that was

  319. purposed. In the text the Bible said in

  320. verse 15 after he responds Jesus said I

  321. am Jesus whom thou persecutest. Verse 16

  322. notice this. But rise. You see, out of

  323. that supernatural conversion, there is a

  324. sovereign commission.

  325. >> You see, if what you got's real, first

  326. of all, you going to have to be

  327. converted. Amen. You'll have to be

  328. saved. Amen. For the heart man believeth

  329. under righteous with a mouth confession

  330. is made unto salvation. And before that

  331. happens, nothing else going to happen in

  332. your life. But I'll say this. You say,

  333. "Preacher, well, I I believe I'm saved."

  334. Let me ask you something. There's some

  335. things that come along after salvation

  336. that come along to all of us. You say,

  337. "Preacher, well, I'm not I'm not called

  338. to preach." Well, you understand there

  339. is a call that's in the heart of every

  340. child of God who is born again, and that

  341. is a call to serve.

  342. >> Amen. Paul said to the Roman church in

  343. Romans chapter 12, he said, "I beseech

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  344. you therefore, brethren, by the mercies

  345. of God, that you present your bodies a

  346. living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto

  347. God, which is your reasonable service."

  348. You see in the text, Jesus here meets

  349. him and changes him in a moment. Amen.

  350. And out of that conversion, there is a

  351. commission. Verse 16. But rise and stand

  352. upon thy feet. For I have appeared unto

  353. thee for this purpose, to make thee a

  354. minister and a witness, both of these

  355. things which thou has seen, and of those

  356. things in the which I will appear unto

  357. thee. You see, this commission brought a

  358. deliverance to him. Verse 17, look what

  359. the Bible says. Delivering thee from the

  360. people and from the Gentiles. You say,

  361. preacher, what is that? WELL, I'LL SAY

  362. THIS. SALVATION will save you from hell.

  363. Amen. But that commission, what it'll do

  364. for you is it'll deliver you from the

  365. world.

  366. >> Amen. Hey, if you're still living in the

  367. world, you're still yolked up with this

  368. world, YOU'RE STILL LOOKING, ACTING, AND

  369. TALKING LIKE THE WORLD. AMEN. YOU MAY

  370. NOT ever been delivered.

  371. >> He told Paul in the text, he told Saul,

  372. he said, "Look, I'm delivering thee."

  373. Notice this. From the people and from

  374. the Gentiles. You know what we were when

  375. we were lost? Amen. Preacher preached

  376. about it last Sunday. We were in

  377. bondage. Amen. We were serving this old

  378. sinful world. We were serving our flesh.

  379. We were serving the devil. We were

  380. serving this world. Amen. And out of

  381. this, Paul is Saul is given deliverance.

  382. Delivering thee from the people and from

  383. the Gentiles. But isn't it interesting?

  384. Amen. When that deliverance comes,

  385. there's a new direction that takes

  386. place. Notice the last part of the

  387. verse. Your Bible says that he delivered

  388. thee from the people and from the

  389. Gentiles. Notice this. unto whom now I

  390. send thee. You know why God saved you?

  391. You know why God commissioned you to

  392. serve him? Because the same world he's

  393. delivered you out of is the same world

  394. he wants to send you back into.

  395. >> Amen. The same people, the same crowd,

  396. amen, that you used to run with when you

  397. was in this world. Oh, I feel HAPPY THIS

  398. MORNING. THE SAME PEOPLE THAT you used

  399. to sin with, the same crowd THAT YOU

  400. USED TO FOLLOW. You see, Jesus brought

  401. YOU OUT THAT HE MIGHT SEND YOU BACK.

  402. AMEN. Not for them to influence you, BUT

  403. FOR YOU TO INFLUENCE THEM WITH WHAT?

  404. With the gospel. With the GOOD NEWS OF

  405. JESUS CHRIST. PAUL SAID, "HE TOOK ME

  406. OUT." OH, BUT HE SENT ME RIGHT BACK.

  407. WHY? BECAUSE HE MADE A DIFFERENCE ON THE

  408. INSIDE. AMEN.

  409. >> And if you ain't never been delivered

  410. from THIS WORLD AND HAD YOUR DIRECTION

  411. CHANGED, I doubt you got anything real.

  412. Amen. Hey, friend, if you've never

  413. turned from sin, Amen. Paul told that

  414. THESSALONIAN CHURCH, IT'S WHAT HE SAID.

  415. HE SAID, "YOU TURN TO GOD FROM IDOLS."

  416. AMEN. And you know what they did? THEY

  417. TURNED TO GOD FROM IDOLS TO SERVE THE

  418. living and true God. Amen. And it was

  419. that deliverance that gave them a new

  420. direction. Amen.

  421. I've got something that's real.

  422. >> Oh, friend, I've been delivered.

  423. Hallelujah. Bless his name. I'll tell

  424. you this. I've got a new direction. I'm

  425. not going to this world for sin, but I'm

  426. going to this world with salvation.

  427. Amen.

  428. >> Oh, bless his name. You see, he gave him

  429. a new direction. Look what he says. Unto

  430. whom now I send thee. Verse 18, to open

  431. their eyes. What happened to Paul? He

  432. had to have his eyes open, didn't he?

  433. That light blinded him. You know what he

  434. had to do? He had to go find Ananas.

  435. Amen. Have his sight be given to him.

  436. But you know, you see that's not the

  437. physical, that's not the truth of the

  438. text. It's the spiritual truth. Amen. is

  439. that open the spiritual eyes to open

  440. their eyes to turn them from darkness to

  441. light from the power of Satan unto God

  442. that they may receive forgiveness of

  443. sins and inheritance among them which

  444. are sanctified by faith that is in me.

  445. You see, friend, if you've got something

  446. that's real, I can promise you this

  447. morning, there has been a supernatural

  448. conversion just like the Apostle Paul.

  449. BUT THERE WILL BE AND I PROMISE YOU

  450. THERE WILL BE AND THERE IS A SOVEREIGN

  451. COMMISSION ON YOUR life this morning.

  452. I say this thirdly. All right. If you

  453. ain't help me preach up to this point,

  454. you definitely ain't going to help me

  455. now. All right,

  456. y'all. All right. Y'all better than 3:00

  457. in the morning. Wake up. All right, we

  458. going to preach.

  459. You see, there's a sovereign there's a

  460. supernatural conversion. There's a

  461. sovereign commission. But I think about

  462. this. I say this thirdly, we see in

  463. Paul's life, there's a simple

  464. compliance. You say, "What do you mean,

  465. preacher?" Well, you see, God saved HIM.

  466. GOD SENT HIM out to serve. But what

  467. happens now? The Bible said in verse 19,

  468. look what he says to Agria. Whereupon,

  469. oh king Agria, I was not disobedient.

  470. Notice that I was not disobedient unto

  471. the heavenly vision, but showed first

  472. unto them of Damascus and at Jerusalem

  473. and throughout all the coast of Judea,

  474. and then to the Gentiles that they

  475. should repent and turn to God and do

  476. works meat for repentance. You see, when

  477. God gave him the commission, his heart

  478. was WILLFULLY COMPLIANT. LET ME SAY this

  479. to you, friend. If you've ever felt the

  480. call of God on your life, if you've ever

  481. felt the move of God on your life, there

  482. is only one response that you can have,

  483. and that's Lord, whatever you want me to

  484. do, I'LL DO IT. LORD, WHEREVER YOU WANT

  485. ME TO GO, I'LL GO. LORD, WHATEVER,

  486. HOWEVER, WHENEVER, WHEREVER, LORD, I AM

  487. WILLING. AMEN.

  488. >> SAID, "PREACHER, WELL, I don't want to

  489. do those things." Well, you may not be

  490. real.

  491. I tell you this, I told a young man this

  492. week, I said, "If it's God's will, you

  493. won't be able to get away from it. But

  494. if it's not, you'll be miserable if you

  495. try to."

  496. Let me tell you something. God has given

  497. a command. Amen. And this command

  498. requires compliance. Amen. We are to be

  499. obedient. You see, Paul was obedient to

  500. this commission that he went to all the

  501. places. You think about, you say,

  502. "Preacher, well, how is that the

  503. commission?" Well, remember what Acts 18

  504. says. He said, "And you shall receive

  505. power after that the Holy Ghost has come

  506. upon you, and you shall be witnesses

  507. unto me, Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria,

  508. unto the uttermost parts of the earth."

  509. You know what? Paul wasn't Saul wasn't

  510. there when they said Acts 18, was he? He

  511. wasn't there for that. But you know

  512. what? When he got saved, he got the same

  513. commission they did as anybody in the

  514. building. This morning I'm saying,

  515. friend, if you're SAVED BY THE GRACE OF

  516. GOD, YOU'VE GOT THE SAME commission and

  517. you should have the same compliance.

  518. >> You say, "Preacher, I know I'm saved and

  519. I know God wants me to do something, BUT

  520. I'M JUST NOT I'M NOT REALLY sure about

  521. it yet." Well, let me tell you this. If

  522. you're not serving him, you ain't got no

  523. rights to assurance of your salvation.

  524. You got to be right with him.

  525. >> You know why people struggle with

  526. doubts? Because they're not living for

  527. them.

  528. Amen, friend. That's right. You see, he

  529. was complying in the places, but I'll

  530. say this. He was complying in his

  531. preaching. He said that they should

  532. repent. Let me say this. Repentance is I

  533. listen to me, friend. You better not If

  534. you miss everything else I say, do not

  535. miss what I'm fixing to tell you this

  536. morning. Repentance is still necessary

  537. for salvation. If there is no

  538. repentance, Milton Taylor said it this

  539. way. THERE IS NO REGENERATION. THAT

  540. MEANS there is no salvation. If you

  541. don't realize that you're a sinner and

  542. repent of that sin, YOU CANNOT YOU

  543. CANNOT YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED, FRIEND.

  544. >> And the GOSPEL IS A GOSPEL OF

  545. REPENTANCE.

  546. >> He said you turn to God from us. YOU GOT

  547. TO TURN AWAY FROM THIS WORLD. YOU GOT TO

  548. LET GO OF THE WORLD. YOU GOT TO LET GO

  549. OF YOUR FLESH. YOU GOT TO LET GO OF

  550. YOURSELF. YOU CAN'T HANG ON TO JESUS AND

  551. HANG ON TO THIS WORLD. IF YOU'VE NEVER

  552. BEEN SAVED, FRIEND, IF YOU'VE NEVER

  553. REPENTED OF YOUR SINS, THAT IS THE

  554. GOSPEL MESSAGE. THAT IS THE REAL message

  555. of truth

  556. that they should repent. Notice this.

  557. And turn to God. And do works. Notice

  558. that. And do works. Paul said, "I'm

  559. preaching exactly what I'm doing." Amen.

  560. And do works. What'd he say? Meet for

  561. repentance. I'll say this. I've got

  562. something that's real. Oh, hallelujah.

  563. Because I've been supernaturally

  564. converted. I've been sovereignly

  565. commissioned. But I'll tell you this,

  566. I'm just simply compliant to whatever he

  567. asks.

  568. You say, "Preacher, can you really

  569. honestly say that I had to pray before I

  570. preach this sermon to settle it? Because

  571. you know what? I want my heart that way.

  572. If God wants me to go up there to Canada

  573. with this brother, you know what? I'm

  574. going to do my best to go. If God wants

  575. me to go across the sea over there to

  576. Africa, amen, and go over there and

  577. preach in the jungle somewhere, I'm

  578. gonna do my best to go. If God wants me

  579. to move states and preach somewhere

  580. else, if God wants me to spend THE REST

  581. OF MY LIFE in this pullpit, IN THIS

  582. PLACE, PASTORING THIS CHURCH, I JUST

  583. WANT TO DO WHAT GOD SAYS. YOU SEE,

  584. THAT'S THE MOST SIMPLE WAY TO LIVE. WHEN

  585. YOU JUST LEAVE IT UP TO GOD, GOD, WHAT

  586. YOU'VE TOLD ME, THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING TO

  587. DO UNTIL YOU TELL ME TO DO SOMETHING

  588. DIFFERENT. SOMEBODY HELP ME PREACH THIS

  589. MORNING. YOU JUST DO WHAT GOD SAYS UNTIL

  590. GOD TELLS YOU TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

  591. AMEN.

  592. >> You walk in THE LIGHT THAT GOD HAS GIVEN

  593. YOU FOR TODAY and he'll give you new

  594. LIFE FOR TOMORROW AND HE'LL GIVE YOU NEW

  595. LIFE for the NEXT DAY, BUT YOU WALK IN

  596. WHAT HE SHOWED YOU TODAY AND DO WHAT YOU

  597. KNOW YOU ARE supposed to do before him

  598. today.

  599. He was simply compliant. I like this

  600. one. All right, I'm moving. We still

  601. going to get out of here a decent time.

  602. Y'all dead. I'm just going to take how

  603. long I want. Amen.

  604. I'm serious. Amen. I'm going to take how

  605. long I want.

  606. It's been too long, Sister Biddy.

  607. You see, fourthly, I see out of this

  608. simple compliance, Paul mentions

  609. something else in this text. Remember,

  610. he's testifying all this to a grippa. He

  611. says, "I want all of you to be such as I

  612. am." Well, this is what Paul is. He's

  613. been converted. He's been commissioned.

  614. He's compliant. But see that, notice

  615. this fourthly, verse number 21, he says,

  616. "For these causes the Jews caught me in

  617. the temple and went about to kill me."

  618. Verse 22, "Having therefore obtained

  619. help of God." What's the next two words?

  620. I continue.

  621. You see, Paul was steadily continuing.

  622. He had steady continuence in his life.

  623. You want to know if what you got's real?

  624. You're staying with it.

  625. You're not in and out. In and out.

  626. You don't know what you got's real. It's

  627. going to take some faithful continuing.

  628. You say, "How how do you express that?"

  629. Well, turn with me to the book of

  630. Romans.

  631. Romans,

  632. chapter number three.

  633. Listen to what he says. Actually,

  634. Romans, I think it's Romans, maybe it's

  635. Romans 2. Let's look here. Yeah, Romans

  636. 2, verse number

  637. verse number five. Notice this. Paul's

  638. talking to the Jews. All right. He's

  639. talking to everybody in chapter 2.

  640. Chapter 3 talks to the Jews. Look what

  641. he says. Verse number five. But after

  642. thy hardness and impenitent heart,

  643. treasures up in thyself wrath against

  644. the day of wrath, and revelation of the

  645. righteous judgment of God, who will

  646. render to every man according to his

  647. deeds. Notice verse seven. To them who

  648. by patient what? Continuence in what?

  649. Welldoing, seek for glory and honor and

  650. immortality, eternal life. But unto them

  651. that are contentious, and do not obey

  652. the truth, but obey unrighteousness,

  653. indignation, and wrath, tribulation, and

  654. anguish upon every soul of man that

  655. doeth evil of the Jew first, and also of

  656. the Gentile, but glory and honor and

  657. peace to every man that workketh good to

  658. the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.

  659. For there is no respect of persons with

  660. God. Patient continuous. You know what?

  661. God honors faithfulness.

  662. He's not so much interested about the

  663. size of what you got going on as he is

  664. interested in you being steady with.

  665. >> Amen.

  666. >> He's not so much interested about the

  667. quantity. You hear me say all the time,

  668. he is interested in the quality of your

  669. ministry, of your Christian life. Hey

  670. friend, and that's going to require you.

  671. That's going to cost you something if

  672. you're going to steadily continue. Paul

  673. said it there in Acts chapter number 20.

  674. He said, "But none of these things move

  675. me." All of those beatings, all of those

  676. whapons, all of those mockings, all of

  677. those imprisonments. HE SAID, "NOT ANY

  678. OF THAT moves me." He said, "I don't

  679. count my life dear to myself." He said,

  680. "But I might FINISH MY COURSE WITH JOY."

  681. And you know what? HE WAS ABLE TO DO

  682. THAT CUZ HE TOLD TIMOTHY, HE SAID, "I'VE

  683. FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT. I HAVE FINISHED MY

  684. COURSE. I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH." YOU KNOW

  685. WHAT HE DID? HE JUST STAYED WITH IT.

  686. BLESS HIS NAME. HALLELUJAH. HEY FRIEND,

  687. YOU CAN STAY WITH IT. I CAN STAY WITH

  688. IT. PATIENTLY CONTINUE. AMEN.

  689. >> How did it continue? Notice the text.

  690. Acts 26 verse 22. Having therefore

    Acts 26:22

  691. obtained help of God. I continue. He

  692. said in the book of 2 Corinthians

    2 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  693. chapter 4, he said, "Therefore, seeing

  694. we have this ministry of we as we have

  695. received mercy, we faint not."

  696. You ain't going to continue without his

  697. help.

  698. >> Let me ask you, you got something that's

  699. real.

  700. If you got something that's real, you'll

  701. stay with him.

  702. >> Amen. I'm not saying you won't mess up.

  703. I'm not saying you won't make mistakes.

  704. But I'll tell you this, the Bible says a

  705. just man fallth seven times, but he

  706. riseth up again. You won't stay down.

  707. YOU'LL GET UP AND YOU WILL GO ON FOR THE

  708. GLORY OF GOD. AMEN.

  709. >> STEADY, CONTINUENCE. He had the spirit,

  710. having therefore obtained help of God.

  711. But I'll say this, he had the

  712. scriptures.

  713. You won't stay, you won't stay with it

  714. without the scriptures. Look what he

  715. says. I continue this day, witnessing

  716. both to small and great. Notice this,

  717. saying none other things than those

  718. which the prophets and Moses did say

  719. should come. You know what Paul was

  720. looking for? He was looking for an

  721. eternity.

  722. Right now didn't bother him because his

  723. eyes wasn't on the right now. He was

  724. looking for that city. Amen. He was

  725. looking for an eternity. He was looking

  726. into the word of God and seeing that

  727. there's something in this life that's

  728. better to come. That's why he said in

  729. the book of Romans, he said that we

  730. can't even imagine. He said what the

  731. glory that's going to be revealed in us.

  732. Amen. When we are with our creator,

  733. amen, and the scriptures is what allowed

  734. him to continue.

  735. >> Paul said, I wish that all of you could

  736. be as I am. I've got something that's

  737. real.

  738. give you this and I'm done.

  739. He steadily continued. Let me ask you,

  740. you know what the sad thing is? Next

  741. year at this time, there may be some of

  742. you that's here today that won't be

  743. here.

  744. You say, "Preacher, does that mean we're

  745. quit that we quit?" No, it don't have to

  746. mean that. It could mean that you're

  747. somewhere else preaching the gospel.

  748. Could mean that you're somewhere else

  749. serving God. But you know who determines

  750. that?

  751. That's your choice. Notice this. You

  752. say, "Preacher, I I still I I just

  753. preacher, I I don't know." Well, I think

  754. there's one more thing.

  755. And I'll say this. I've seen this.

  756. And and scripture even preaches this in

  757. that rich man that was in hell.

  758. Notice what the Bible says in verse

  759. number 29. again after a Grippa speaks

  760. to him said almost thou persuadest me to

  761. be a Christian Paul said I would to God

  762. that not only thou but that all that

  763. hear me this day were both almost and

  764. altogether such as I am except these

  765. bonds I'll say this if you got something

  766. that's real there's a spiritual cry

  767. you say what is that well it's a cry to

  768. lost souls

  769. that your heart you want them to be

  770. saved

  771. you say preacher I I don't know what

  772. that's like. Well, I tell you this. If

  773. you live your life and you die lost,

  774. you'll know what it's like when you get

  775. to hell.

  776. >> Right?

  777. >> Say, "What do you mean?" Well, that rich

  778. man in Luke 16, remember what he told

  779. Abraham? He said, "Father Abraham, send

  780. Lazarus."

  781. Amen. Send him to my brethren.

  782. He said, "Lest they come to this place

  783. of torment." You know, all the while he

  784. lived his life

  785. fair and sumptuously every day. The

  786. Bible says

  787. living it up and living it well. He

  788. didn't have a care in the world. But you

  789. know what? When he got to hell, he got a

  790. burden for them others that he knew was

  791. lost. Let me say this. If you're saved

  792. by the grace of God, you have a burden

  793. for him. Now,

  794. the brother said it there just a minute

  795. ago and it ain't been able to leave my

  796. mind since he made the statement. He

  797. said, "We love them people up there."

  798. Let me ask you something.

  799. Have you ever loved a sinner?

  800. Have you ever loved a sinner enough to

  801. weep tears over their soul? Have you

  802. ever loved a sinner enough to stay up at

  803. night praying that they get saved?

  804. Paul looked all those people in the face

  805. and he said, "I would to God." That's

  806. why he said in Romans, he said, "I could

  807. wish myself were cursed from Christ."

  808. Paul said, "I wish I myself could die

  809. and even be lost so my brethren could be

  810. saved."

  811. You say, "Preacher, WHAT IS THAT?" HE

  812. HAD something that was real.

  813. Every head's bowed and every eye closed.

  814. You know, I'm afraid of in this day and

  815. time, we're satisfied with checking a

  816. box. You come to church, you might even

  817. have made it to Sunday school this

  818. morning. You know what you're going to

  819. do? You're going to walk out here. You

  820. going to check a box? Well, I made it

  821. another day. But all around you, at the

  822. gas pump, at the restaurant,

  823. at the places you go, even your family

  824. gatherings, there's people that are lost

  825. without God. And you are completely

  826. unmoved.

  827. You say, "Preacher, what does that say?"

  828. Well, it does. It says this. It either

  829. says that you don't care about him

  830. because you're not saved, or you don't

  831. care about him because you're not right

  832. with God.

  833. Let me tell you this.

  834. If you're real, it'll break your heart

  835. when sinners get up and walk out of here

  836. lost.

  837. Last Sunday, my heart was broken.

  838. I'm going to be real transparent with

  839. you, church. My heart was broken. Not by

  840. the fact, not so much by the fact that

  841. sinners got up here and walked out of

  842. here lost. All them people that wouldn't

  843. raise their hand, they knew they're

  844. saved. What broke my heart is is

  845. seemingly some of you didn't even care.

  846. Say, why is that? Well, I didn't see no

  847. tears come on your face. Say, '

  848. Preacher, well, I don't cry. WELL, WHY

  849. DIDN'T YOU COME TO THIS ALTAR AND PRAY

  850. FOR THEIR SOUL? I'M SAYING THESE PEOPLE,

  851. THAT MAY HAVE BEEN THE LAST CHANCE.

  852. You're look sitting there in the pew

  853. looking at your phone. God help you. Let

  854. me ask you something. Is it real? Is it

  855. real? If it's real to you, it'll be more

  856. than one time in six months coming to

  857. church. If it's real to you, it'll be

  858. more so than just Sunday morning. It'll

  859. be more so than even Sunday morning,

  860. Sunday night, and Wednesday night. It's

  861. every single day from the time that you

  862. RISE UP TO THE TIME THAT YOU LAY YOUR

  863. HEAD DOWN. IT'S REAL, FRIEND. OH,

  864. FRIEND, I'M SO GLAD THAT IN MY HEART OF

  865. HEARTS, NO, I'M NOT PERFECT. NOBODY IS.

  866. BUT IN MY HEART OF HEARTS, I HAVE A

  867. DESIRE TO JUST DO THE WILL OF GOD, TO

  868. JUST BE OBEDIENT TO HIM AND TO SEE

  869. SINNERS SAVED. AND EVERY TIME I WATCH A

  870. LOST SOUL WALK OUT THESE DOORS, IT

  871. BREAKS MY HEART BECAUSE I KNOW IT MIGHT

  872. BE THE LAST TIME.

  873. Let me ask you, is it real?

  874. I've got something that's real, church.

  875. And I don't have to have you to tell me

  876. that because Jesus done told me,

  877. >> and if you've got something that's real

  878. in your life, it ain't going to be me

  879. that tells you that. Hey, children,

  880. listen to me. It ain't going to be your

  881. parents that tell you're okay. It ain't

  882. even going to be this preacher. It ain't

  883. going to be your friends that say

  884. there's something different in you. If

  885. you're real, you need to mark it down

  886. between you and the God of heaven, that

  887. he has revealed to you that you belong

  888. to him and he has showed you that if

  889. you've got something that's real, you

  890. have to comply.

  891. You have to not only comply, but you

  892. have to continue

  893. and you're going to have to cry out for

  894. sinners. Let me ask you this morning,

  895. she begins to play.

  896. There's people on this altar praying for

  897. you this morning, sinner. You say,

  898. "Preacher, I've never been saved. Would

  899. you pray for me? Let me ask you.

  900. Be real honest, sinner.

  901. Has there ever been a day in your life

  902. when you repented of your sin?

  903. When you truly recognized

  904. that you were lost without God

  905. and you truly asked the Lord to save

  906. you?

  907. And let me ask you this. Has there been

  908. a difference?

  909. Because you know what the Bible says? If

  910. any man be in Christ, he's a new

  911. creature. Old things are passed away.

  912. Behold, all things are become new. Let

  913. me let me ask you this. Has there been a

  914. difference?

  915. Preacher, would you pray for me? I don't

  916. know that I'm saved. There's nobody

  917. looking around but me. Just be honest

  918. between you and God. Preacher, I don't

  919. know that I'm saved. Slip your hand up.

  920. We'll pray for you. We'll pray for you.

  921. There's a whole altar full of people

  922. praying for you this morning. You do not

  923. need to leave this place lost.

  924. Let me ask you this, child of God.

  925. How real are you?

  926. Say, preacher, I know I'm saved. I know

  927. God saved me, but he's dealt with my

  928. heart even this morning that I need to

  929. draw near to him because he had I know

  930. that commission you're talking about,

  931. preacher, I'm not doing all that I

  932. should be. Preacher, would you pray for

  933. me? You just slip your hand up. We'll

  934. pray for you this morning. There's

  935. nobody looking around but me. God sees

  936. that. God sees those hands. Let me tell

  937. you this. It's your choice.

  938. It's your choice.

  939. You are the one that's going to have to

  940. decide. Paul looked at a grippa and he

  941. said, "I wish that you and everybody

  942. here

  943. was almost and alltogether such as I

  944. am."

  945. Why? Cuz I've got something that's real.

  946. Let me ask you this, church. How many of

  947. you know you got something that's real

  948. today? Just slip your hand up and

  949. testify to the Lord. Preacher, I know

  950. I've got something that's real.

  951. Yes. Bless his name. That's good. Praise

  952. God. Let me tell you,

  953. won't you resolve this week to live it

  954. more so than you ever have? Won't you

  955. resolve this week? Go find you a sinner.

  956. Win them to God.

  957. Said, "Preacher, that's hard."

  958. No, the hard part's already been done.

  959. Jesus took Calvary for you. He died for

  960. you. All he asked for you to do is live

  961. for him.

  962. Give your life to him. Father, Lord, I

  963. thank you today for the truth of your

  964. word. Lord, I thank you that I know I've

  965. got something that's real today.

  966. Not because of anything that I've done,

  967. but Lord, because of what you've done in

  968. me. And Lord, I know without a shadow of

  969. a doubt, God, you've made a difference

  970. in my life. And I bless your name for

  971. that. Thank you for it. I ask, God, you

  972. would help us in this invitation.

  973. Give us grace and mercy. Lord, we

  974. realize that we're nothing without you.

  975. God, we know that on our very best day,

  976. we're failures.

  977. Lord, I've messed up so much. God, I've

  978. failed you so many times,

  979. but Lord, I know I've got something real

  980. in my heart today because you put it in

  981. there. And Lord, nobody can take it from

  982. me. And I thank you for that. Thank you

  983. for giving me life. Thank you for giving

  984. me the spirit of God on the inside to

  985. guide me into all truth and reveal to me

  986. how I am to live through the pages of

  987. the word of God. Lord, I thank you for

  988. that. God, I pray for these here today

  989. that are lost. Lord, you know every

  990. heart. God, I pray they wouldn't leave

  991. here that way today. And God, for those

  992. that need to draw near to you, I pray

  993. you'd help them to do so. And Lord, we

  994. give you thanks for what you do because

  995. we ask it in Jesus name. Amen.
