God.
-
>> And it's great to have the man of God
-
here with us again. and uh did a
-
tremendous job in Sunday school. I
-
enjoyed it. Fed my soul and I'm looking
-
forward to what he has for us now.
-
Preacher, you come and you share what
-
the Lord's put on your heart and uh be
-
obedient to the Lord this morning. Amen.
-
And uh listen to him. Amen. Listen to
-
him. And you say, "Well, what do you
-
mean by that?" Well, don't just don't
-
just hear it,
-
>> but do it.
-
Don't be like that man James said he
-
beholds himself in that mirror and looks
-
at it but then he straightway for he
-
leaveth and straightway forgetth what
-
manner of man he was those that are
-
hearers and not doers of the word.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Do do the word today. Amen. Be obedient
-
to the Lord. Preacher you preach to us.
-
>> Thank you brother. Love you. Amen. West
-
good been church. Amen. I say this
-
church looks great. All this decoration
-
man red, white and blue. But I thank the
-
Lord for it. Amen. I sitting there
-
thinking about it, you know, amazing our
-
colors of this nation, red, white, and
-
blue. Uh I give you a good study
-
sometime. Be good, good study to study
-
those colors through the word of God.
-
And uh and uh there's no accident the
-
red the blood of Christ.
-
>> Amen. I mean, we can trace that all the
-
way through the word of God. Amen.
-
>> Blue, you stay the tabernacle and you
-
see the blue tapestry and uh blue speaks
-
of heavenly origin. Amen. And uh and
-
then white purity. I mean, you study
-
those colors through the word of God. I
-
don't think it's any accident uh that we
-
have the colors of this nation. Amen.
-
That we have. And uh and I'm thankful
-
for I'm thankful for our country. And uh
-
thankful that uh that we have a country
-
we can worship in freely. And I praise
-
the Lord for that. And I thank God for
-
If you got a Bible, turn to uh to John
-
chapter number eight. I started at Acts
Acts 8 chapter mention
-
chapter 8, but John chapter number
-
eight. And uh you pray the Lord help us
-
this morning and uh pray God to give us
-
what we need. And uh
-
John chapter number eight. And is it not
-
good to be in church? Amen. And I
-
remember before I got saved, I had no
-
desire to be in church and never had a
-
desire to be in church. I we wasn't
-
raised in it. I wasn't raised around the
-
things of God, around the word of God.
-
really had no desire. Grew up and was
-
out on my own and had never did care
-
about going to church, no concern for
-
it. Sunday was just another day. Amen.
-
And uh in May of 1999, God done
-
something in my heart really that I have
-
never been able to explain. And I mean,
-
I know what scripture says, but I just
-
can't wrap my mind around it. But God
-
done a work in my heart and saved me by
-
the grace of God. And ever since then, I
-
just I'm just glad to get to go to
-
church. Aren't you? A Amen. I mean, I
-
just wanted to go to church when God
-
saved me. And I've always had ever since
-
God saved me, I just wanted to be in the
-
house of God. And uh don't really um
-
didn't have to. Nobody had to tell me I
-
supposed to go or I need to go or I
-
should go. I just want to go. Amen.
-
Y'all quiet, but that'd be all right.
-
Amen. I remember I met people ask me all
-
the time said, "Preacher, how do you go
-
to church so much?" I mean, I'm in
-
church nearly every day of my life. And
-
I said, "How you go so much?" I I just
-
like it. I just like going. Amen. And uh
-
because uh this is my father's house.
-
>> And when God saved me, he just put a
-
hunger in my heart to be around where he
-
is. Amen. And I'm grateful for that. And
-
I thank God for it this morning.
-
Actually, or Acts, I don't know why I
-
keep saying that. Y'all pray for me.
-
Amen. I'm a little bit nervous. Say,
-
"Why?" Well, if you had to look at you.
-
No, I'm joking.
-
John chapter number eight. You find your
-
place. Would you stand as we read the
-
word of God uh this morning? John
-
chapter number eight. Looks like looks
-
like uh everybody made it one piece. I
-
don't really worry about fireworks. I
-
watched some videos last night when I
-
got in late and I'm thinking there's
-
some people it's a miracle. They is
-
alive this morning. And so I'm glad
-
we're here safely. Amen. And John
-
chapter number 8. Look at you will verse
-
number 31. John chapter number 8 verse
-
number 31. We look at some of these
-
verses in Sunday school. Verse number
-
31. The Bible said, "Then said Jesus to
-
those Jews which believed on him, if you
-
continue in my word, then are ye my
-
disciples indeed. You shall know the
-
truth and the truth shall make you
-
free." They answered him, "We be
-
Abraham's seed and were never in bondage
-
to any man. How sayest thou, ye shall be
-
made free?" Jesus answered, "Verily,
-
verily I say unto you, whosoever
-
committh sin is the servant of sin, and
-
the servant abideth not in the house
-
forever, but the son abideth forever. If
-
the son therefore shall make you free,
-
you shall be free indeed. And I know
-
that you're Abraham's seed, but if you
-
seek to kill me, because my word hath no
-
place in you. Now speak that which I
-
have seen with my father, and ye do that
-
which you have seen."
-
Let me read that again. speak that which
-
I have seen with my father, and ye do
-
that which you have seen with your
-
father." And they answered and said unto
-
him, Abraham is our father. And Jesus
-
saith unto them, If ye are Abraham's
-
children, you would do the works of
-
Abraham. But now you seek to kill me,
-
and a man that hath told you the truth,
-
which I have heard of God, this did not
-
Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father.
-
And as far as we'll read for the sake of
-
time this morning, let's ask the Lord to
-
help us as we look at these verses.
-
Father, in Jesus name, thank you for the
-
privilege to be in the house of God.
-
Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and your
-
grace. Thank you, God, for loving us.
-
Thank you for caring for us, God. Thank
-
you for allowing us to gather around the
-
word of God one more time, this side of
-
eternity. God, I thank you for the
-
freedom to do that today. But God, I
-
thank you for the desire to do that. And
-
I bless your name for it. And I pray,
-
God, you know the need of every heart.
-
God, you know what needs to be said. And
-
I ask you, Lord, that you would give me
-
clarity of speech and thought. Lord, I
-
pray God that you would just uh uh speak
-
to hearts. I can't do anything, Lord,
-
within myself, God. I need your touch. I
-
need your help. I need your power. And
-
Lord, I'm asking you for that. Lord, I
-
pray, God, for those that do not know
-
you as their savior today, Lord. I pray
-
the spirit of God would reprove them of
-
their sin. And Lord, I pray they'd come
-
to you in faith and repentance. Lord, I
-
pray that they would trust you before
-
it's too late. Help help your people do
-
what only you can do. We'll thank you
-
for it in Jesus' name. Amen. And amen.
-
Thank you for standing. You can be
-
seated. You know that this week our
-
nation celebrates Independence Day. We
-
remember July the 4th, 1776
-
that the Declaration of Independence was
-
adopted and the colonies declared their
-
freedom from the rule of Britain. And
-
I'm thankful for that. Aren't you? I'm
-
thankful that we could celebrate our
-
nation and our country and the freedom
-
that we have as Americans. I'm thankful
-
for our country. I'm thankful for our
-
flag and the sacrifices that have been
-
made that we can enjoy the freedoms that
-
we have today. And I and by the way, we
-
have many freedoms that I am grateful
-
for. And one of those is that we have
-
the freedom to gather in the house of
-
God and worship and hear the word of God
-
preach. And I'm glad for that. We have
-
that freedom. And how we can trace much
-
of that back to that day when
-
independence was declared uh from
-
Britain. And I'm thankful for that day.
-
And I'm thankful for our Declaration of
-
Independence. But I want to preach God
-
to hit me this morning out of this text
-
on the greatest independence day. Amen.
-
You see, I'm glad that I'm thankful I'm
-
an American. I'm thankful that I was
-
born in this country. Said it in Sunday
-
school that, you know, we could have
-
been born in any country and in any
-
nation under any circumstances. But I
-
sure am thankful that God allowed me to
-
be born in this country that we have
-
freedom and not just in this country but
-
in the Bible belt of America that we
-
could hear the gospel preached. And many
-
of us have been have grew up around the
-
word of God and hearing the preaching of
-
the word of God. And I'm grateful for
-
that opportunity. I'm thankful that I am
-
not ashamed of my country. I know
-
there's some things going on to be
-
ashamed of friend. I'm thankful to be an
-
American. Amen. And I'm thankful for the
-
day we declared our independence. But
-
can I tell you the greatest uh day uh uh
-
uh the greatest declaration of
-
independence was not the day that this
-
country was made free from the uh the
-
the rule of Great Britain. But the
-
greatest day of independence is when
-
Jesus came to where I was and set me
-
free from the bondage of sin and gave me
-
victory over sin. And I that's exactly
-
what Jesus deals with in this text. I
-
want to talk to you about that. I'm glad
-
I've been made free. Amen. I mean, there
-
was a I don't want to get ahead of
-
myself, but there was a time in my life
-
when I could not I had no power to live
-
FOR GOD. I COULD NOT do the things that
-
were right and really had no desire to
-
do the things that were right. But God
-
came to where I was and had delivered me
-
from the bondage that I was in and set
-
me free. AND I'M GLAD UH THAT I'VE been
-
free indeed. Not because I'm an
-
American, but because thank God I know
-
the Lord Jesus and he worked the power
-
of freedom in my soul and broke the
-
bondage and gave me liberty in him. And
-
that's what I want to talk to you about
-
this morning. Don't you notice this text
-
and we talked a little bit about it in
-
Sunday school in chapter number eight.
-
Jesus gives these Pharisees a great
-
theological lesson. And then in verse
-
number 30, he said this or the Bible
-
says this and he spake these words and
-
many believed on him. I want you to
-
notice in these te this text that the
-
profession that was examined. So the
-
Bible said because of the discourse
-
Jesus has just gave them about him being
-
the light of the world that many
-
believed on him. But one thing is
-
interesting if you study the book of J
-
or the book of John you'll find that
-
John lays out the idea that there is a
-
uh there is a there's such a there is a
-
uh uh there is possibility of a false
-
faith. Amen. or a possibility of a of
-
believing things but not really trusting
-
things. How you say what do you mean?
-
Well, the Bible tells in John chapter
-
number two and verse number 23 that many
-
believed in his name when they saw the
-
miracles which he did. Now listen, I
-
tell you what most people would have
-
done right there. uh they would have
-
brought those people in, put them on a
-
church road, baptized them, and made
-
them members of a local church because
-
they believed uh in the miracles that
-
Jesus did. But you know what your Bible
-
said? Your Bible said this, "But Jesus
-
did not commit himself unto them because
-
he knew all men." Amen. They believed
-
something about him, but they did not.
-
He did not commit himself to them
-
because he knew what was in their heart.
-
And it's interesting in the very next
-
chapter how the Bible says that there
-
was a man of the Pharisees named
-
Nicodemus that came to Jesus by night.
-
And this is what he said. He said that
-
we know thou art the teacher come from
-
God for no man do these miracles except
-
God be with him. So there was a man
-
named Nicodemus. He was a religious man.
-
He believed that Jesus came from God. He
-
believed that God was with him. Now
-
listen, the miracles had convinced him
-
of that reality. But Jesus looks at
-
Nicodemus and says, "Verily, verily, I
-
say un thee, except a man be born again,
-
he cannot inherit the kingdom of God."
-
And so, listen, IT'S POSSIBLE TO BELIEVE
-
SOME things about Christ, IT'S POSSIBLE
-
TO BELIEVE SOME THINGS about God and not
-
really know him as your savior. Amen.
-
That's what we find in this text. Jesus
-
gives them again a great theological
-
truth about his identity as the Jehovah
-
God. And the Bible said that many
-
believe on him. But look at verse number
-
31. Then said Jesus of those Jews which
-
believed on him,
-
if you continue in my word, then are you
-
my disciples indeed. Amen. Now notice
-
there was an appearance of faith. There
-
were some people here that had heard the
-
word of God. that heard the authority of
-
his claims, that heard him speak about
-
the father, that heard him speak about
-
him being the light, that heard him that
-
heard the truth that he'd spoken. And
-
many believe the Bible, listen, but the
-
rest of the passage forces us to ask the
-
question, what kind of belief did they
-
really have? Because you'll find later
-
in this text, uh, that they they they
-
seek to stone him. They're really
-
rejecting him as the the son of God. And
-
so THEY HAVE AN APPEARANCE OF faith but
-
there is no reality to their faith.
-
Amen. And you know what? There's a lot
-
of people in this nation that they
-
they've memorized A FEW FACTS AND THEY'D
-
SAY they know that Jesus uh was bo was
-
born and lived and died and was buried
-
and rose again the third day. And they
-
have a few facts memorized. But friend,
-
listen. Just because they have a few
-
facts memorized and THEY BELIEVE THOSE
-
FACTS DOES NOT mean that they've been
-
saved by the grace OF GOD. AMEN. AND
-
THAT'S WHAT YOU'LL FIND IN this text.
-
THEY HAD SOME THEY HAD SOME BELIEF ABOUT
-
the identity of who Jesus was, BUT THEY
-
REALLY DID NOT KNOW HIM AS THEIR SAVIOR.
-
AND WHAT JESUS BEGINS TO do in this text
-
is HE BEGINS TO PUT their uh their
-
profession of their faith under the
-
microscope.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> And by the way, can I just make this
-
statement? Uh friend, if your salvation
-
of my salvation does not line up with
-
the word of God, then it it is not real.
-
Amen. I don't care how much you've been
-
in church. Uh I don't care how much
-
truth YOU'VE HEARD PREACHED. I don't
-
care how MANY FACTS YOU KNOW. I DON'T
-
CARE HOW MANY VERSES YOU CAN QUOTE. IF
-
YOUR SALVATION DOES NOT LINE UP WITH
-
THIS BOOK, THEN YOU ARE NOT SAVED.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> Amen. And Jesus begins to examine their
-
faith. He listen, there's the appearance
-
of faith and then there is the abiding
-
of true faith. Look what he says in
-
verse number 31. He said this. If you
-
can, he said uh to those Jews which
-
believed on him, if you continue in my
-
word, then are you disciples indeed.
-
Amen. Jesus clearly, he said, now wait a
-
minute. How you say you believe on me?
-
Let's examine and see what that what
-
does a true disciple look like? What
-
does a true convert look like? And he
-
says this. He says in verse 31, he he
-
said, "If you continue in my word." Now
-
the word continue is important. It means
-
to abide. It means to remain. It means
-
to dwell, to stay. Jesus is not saying
-
that continuing in his word earns
-
salvation.
-
>> He is saying that continuing in his word
-
is evidence of salvation. Amen. Listen,
-
we're not saved by works. Is that right?
-
We're saved by grace through faith. It's
-
not of yourself. It is a gift of God,
-
not of works, lest any man should boast.
-
Nobody is saved by good deeds, by works,
-
by being a good person, by any ordinance
-
in the church. No one is saved that way.
-
Amen. But I tell you WHAT, IF YOU GET
-
SAVED, there'll be some works that
-
FOLLOW SALVATION.
-
>> THERE'LL BE SOME EVIDENCES. AMEN.
-
Continuence is not the root of
-
disciplehip. It is the fruit of
-
disciplehip. A true disciple does not
-
merely begin with Christ, but he
-
continues with Christ. Amen. He said,
-
"You continue, Amen, in my word." I
-
mean, think about a true disciple or a
-
true believer does not just respond to a
-
sermon, uh, but he comes under the
-
authority of Christ's word. Amen. YEAH.
-
>> AND CAN I TELL YOU THAT'S A GOOD uh
-
that's a good marker to see if you're
-
really saved or not IS WHAT WHAT YOU
-
THINK about the word of God. Amen. BUT
-
I'LL TELL YOU WHAT, we live in a day
-
that there's people that profess TO BE
-
SAVED AND THEY profess to be TO KNOW
-
GOD, BUT THEY HAVE NO THEY HAVE NO
-
SUBMISSION TO THE WORD OF GOD. I MEAN, A
-
MAN OF GOD UP CAN get up AND PREACH
-
TRUTH AND PRESENT TRUTH AND PEOPLE CAN'T
-
EVEN agree with it, but they will never
-
submit to the truth of the word of GOD
-
AND CONTINUE TO WALK IN THAT TRUTH.
-
>> AMEN. I'M TELLING YOU, FRIEND, PEOPLE
-
THAT ARE CONTINUALLY WALKING IN
-
REBELLION TO THE TRUTH OF THE WORD OF
-
GOD, THAT'S A GOOD INDICATION THAT THEY
-
ARE NOT SAVED.
-
BECAUSE JESUS says in this text, "If you
-
continue in my word," LOOK WHAT HE SAID.
-
LET ME JUST TELL YOU WHAT THE BIBLE
-
SAID. HERE'S WHAT JESUS SAID. YOU SAID,
-
"WELL, PREACHER, WHY THAT AIN'T WHAT HE
-
REALLY MEANT, BUT THAT'S WHAT HE SAID,
-
PREACHER."
-
>> HE SAID, "IF YOU CONTINUE IN MY WORD,
-
THEN ARE YE MY DISCIPLES INDEED." THAT
-
word indeed is an interesting word. It
-
just means truly. Amen. Now that in
-
other words, if you continue in my word,
-
then you are truly or really a disciple.
-
Amen. I want to ask you a question this
-
morning. Uh listen, uh do you continue
-
in the word of God? WHAT IS your
-
relationship to the word of God? Amen.
-
Again, I said there a moment ago when I
-
got saved, I didn't know anything about
-
the scripture. I didn't know anything
-
about God. I just knew God had done a
-
work in my heart and I fell in love with
-
the the word of God. AND IF A MAN OF GOD
-
GOT UP AND PREACHED THAT BOOK AND SAID,
-
"YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THAT." YOU KNOW
-
WHAT I DID? BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I TRIED
-
TO STOP DOING IT. IF HE GOT UP AND
-
PREACHED OUT THE WORD OF GOD THAT YOU
-
NEED TO DO THIS, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I
-
TRIED TO DO IT. YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE UH
-
UH LISTEN, THERE'S SOMETHING SPECIAL
-
ABOUT THAT WORD. UH AND YOU KNOW WHAT IT
-
IS? IT'S WHO IT COMES FROM. AND THANK
-
GOD WHEN GOD SAVED ME, I FELL IN LOVE
-
WITH HIM. AND IN TURN, I FELL IN LOVE
-
WITH HIS WORD. AMEN. AND FRIEND, IF YOU
-
DON'T CARE ANYTHING ABOUT THE WORD OF
-
GOD, IF YOU DON'T CARE ANYTHING ABOUT
-
OBEYING THE WORD OF GOD, IF YOU DON'T
-
CARE ANYTHING ABOUT, LISTEN, BEING
-
OBEDIENT TO THE SCRIPTURE, AND THAT'S A
-
GOOD INDICATION THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE
-
REAL FAITH.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> AMEN, FRIEND. And so listen, uh, and I I
-
had I heard a guy say this one time
-
years ago. I never have forgot it. He
-
said, uh, uh, if you have a salvation
-
that doesn't change you, he said, I sure
-
wasn't trusted to get me to heaven when
-
I die.
-
>> BECAUSE IF IT AIN'T POWERFUL ENOUGH TO
-
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE, IF IT
-
AIN'T POWERFUL ENOUGH TO CHANGE YOU, IF
-
IT AIN'T POWERFUL ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU
-
WALK IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION, I DOUBT
-
IT'S POWERFUL ENOUGH HOW TO GET YOU TO
-
HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE. AMEN. AMEN.
-
>> He said listen THERE IS UH IN THE TEXT
-
THERE IS AN ABIDING OF TRUE FAITH IF YOU
-
CONTINUE IN HIS word then THERE IS THE
-
UH THERE THE AUTHENT UH THE the
-
authenticity of disciplehip in this look
-
WHAT HE SAID HE SAID THEN ARE YOU MY
-
disciples indeed amen indeed truly truly
-
you are my disciples so he begins to
-
examine he begins to examine their
-
profession amen you know what that
-
doesn't bother for me this morning.
-
Amen. I remember years ago I was I was
-
preaching a message and out of I think
-
it's out of Peter and he he talked about
-
always be ready TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF
-
THE HOPE that is within you. And I'm
-
paraphrasing that but LISTEN AND I AND I
-
SAID THIS. I SAID YOU YOU YOU SHOULD
-
HAVE NO TROUBLE TELLING ABOUT YOUR
-
SALVATION. You should have no trouble
-
telling about when you got saved.
-
>> And I just started calling on people in
-
the congregation and say stand us up and
-
tell us how you know you're going to
-
heaven. YEAH.
-
>> STAND UP AND TELL US ABOUT WHEN YOU GOT
-
SAVED AND how you know that you're going
-
to heaven.
-
>> I started calling on people.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> You know what happened? Some people got
-
real nervous.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> AND THEN SOME PEOPLE SAID, "I can't
-
believe you done that. I can't believe
-
you'd call that. YOU SHOULDN'T DO THAT.
-
YOU SHOULDN'T CALL PEOPLE OUT. THAT'S
-
NOT YOUR JOB TO DO. THAT'S NOT YOUR JOB
-
TO CALL PEOPLE OUT LIKE THAT."
-
>> Got upset about it.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> CAN I TELL YOU, FRIEND? NOW, DON'T GO
-
AHEAD AND ASK THAT. DON'T BOTHER ME.
-
MATTER OF FACT, I'LL JUST GO AHEAD AND
-
TELL YOU BEFORE YOU ASK. I'M IN MAY OF
-
1999. I REALIZED I WAS A GUILTY SINNER,
-
UNDONE, GUILTY BEFORE GOD. AND I COME TO
-
HIM IN FAITH AND REPENTANCE. AND THAT
-
NIGHT, HE SAVED MY SOUL AND CHANGED ME.
-
AND I'M NOT WHAT I OUGHT TO BE, BUT
-
THANK GOD I'M NOT WHAT I USED TO BE. HE
-
MADE A DIFFERENCE IN ME THAT NIGHT. AND
-
I KNOW IN WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED AND I AM
-
PERSUADED THAT HE IS ABLE TO KEEP THAT
-
THAT I'VE COMMITTED UNTO HIM THAT
-
AGAINST THAT DAY. THANK GOD I KNOW WHAT
-
HE DONE FOR ME. AMEN.
-
>> I KNOW I'M NOTHING, BUT THANK GOD I KNOW
-
WHAT HE DONE FOR ME. AND HE CHANGED MY
-
LIFE AND CHANGED MY DESIRES AND PUT A
-
NEW LISTEN, PUT A NEW HEART ON THE
-
INSIDE. THANK GOD I KNOW THAT I KNOW
-
THAT I KNOW THAT I'M SAVED. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN. NOT BECAUSE I PRAYED A PRAYER.
-
MATTER OF FACT, I DON'T REMEMBER HARDLY
-
WHAT I PRAYED.
-
>> AMEN. I LISTEN. I DON'T REMEMBER HARDLY
-
WHAT I SAID OR HARDLY WHAT I PRAYED, BUT
-
THANK GOD I REMEMBER EXACTLY HOW HE
-
ANSWERED AND HE DONE A WORK IN ME AND HE
-
CHANGED MY LIFE AND THANK GOD THIS FREE
-
AND I AM I KNOW THAT THAT HE SAVED ME. I
-
KNOW WHAT HE DONE FOR ME. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN. I WORRY ABOUT THIS CROWD CAN'T
-
NEVER TELL ABOUT IT.
-
>> AMEN. IF I STARTED DOING THAT THIS
-
MORNING, IF I COME ON THIS SIDE AND IT
-
SAID, "STAND UP AND TELL US ABOUT WHEN
-
YOU GOT SAVED."
-
>> YEAH. Tell it, PREACHER.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> OH, I COME ON THIS SIDE. SO, I WANT YOU
-
TO STAND UP RIGHT NOW AND TELL ME HOW
-
YOU KNOW
-
>> THAT YOU'RE GOING TO MISS HELL.
-
>> Tell it, preacher.
-
>> AMEN. WHY DON'T I COME ON THIS SIDE? I
-
WANT YOU TO STAND UP AND TELL ME HOW YOU
-
TELL ME ABOUT WHEN YOU GOT BORN AGAIN.
-
>> NOT WHEN YOU JOINED THE CHURCH. NOT WHEN
-
YOU GOT BAPTIZED.
-
>> AMEN. TELL ME ABOUT STAND UP AND TELL ME
-
HOW YOU KNOW THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU KNOW
-
THAT YOU'RE GOING TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU
-
DIE.
-
>> YES.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> What would you say?
-
>> Amen. Now listen he there is the and
-
then notice there is a problem that is
-
exposed. Look at look at these verses in
-
verse number 33 through35. Look what the
-
Bible said. And then answered him they
-
answered him. We be Abraham's seed and
-
were never in bondage to any man. How
-
sayest thou ye shall be made free. Now
-
think about it. Notice the deception.
-
Their deception was exposed. THINK ABOUT
-
WHAT they said in verse number 33. They
-
said this. They said, "We be Abraham's
-
seed and were NEVER IN BONDAGE TO ANY
-
MAN." REALLY?
-
HOW COULD THEY MAKE THAT STATEMENT? NOW
-
THINK ABOUT IT. THESE JEWS. HE SAID, "WE
-
BE ABRAHAM'S seed and WE NEVER BEEN IN
-
BONDAGE TO ANY MAN." REALLY?
-
>> PREACHER.
-
>> WHAT ABOUT IN EGYPT FOR 400 YEARS?
-
>> YEAH.
-
>> AMEN. WHAT ABOUT LISTEN, WHAT ABOUT
-
BABYLON? WHAT ABOUT THE CAPTIVITY OF
-
SYRIA? WHAT ABOUT LISTEN MEO PERSIA?
-
WHAT ABOUT GREECE AND LIVING UNDER THE
-
AUTHORITY OF GREECE? AND EVEN IN THIS
-
DAY WHEN THEY MAKE THIS STATEMENT, YOU
-
KNOW WHAT? THEY WERE LIVING UNDER THE
-
AUTHORITY OF ROME.
-
>> Y
-
>> AND THEY SAID, "WELL, we're not in
-
bondage
-
>> and we've never been in bondage."
-
>> Amen.
-
>> They were deceived. I mean, they they
-
were ne THEY SAID, "WE BE Abraham's
-
seed." You know what they were doing? UH
-
THEY WERE TRUSTING IN THEIR LINEAGE,
-
THEIR HERITAGE. AMEN.
-
>> We be Abraham's seed. There's a lot of
-
people doing that in the day and time
-
we're living in.
-
>> Amen. So and so IS MY PARENT. SO AND SO
-
IS MY MOM OR DADDY. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN. SO AND SO I AND AND AND THEY MAY
-
NOT MAKE THE STATEMENT. I THINK I'M
-
GOING TO HEAVEN BECAUSE I'm I'm the I'm
-
the child of so and so. But
-
subconsciously somehow.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> OR MAYBE YOU I'M IN CHURCH.
-
>> AMEN. OR I'M THIS AND I I'M THAT. AMEN.
-
AND THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE DOING. LISTEN.
-
But they WERE SO DECEIVED. THEY SAID,
-
"WE'VE NEVER BEEN IN BONDAGE TO ANY
-
MAN." BUT JESUS EXPOSES THEIR DOMINION
-
in verse number 34. JESUS ANSWERED,
-
"VERILY, VER I SAY TO YOU, WHOSOEVER,
-
WATCH THIS, COMMITTH sin is the servant
-
of sin."
-
>> So he identifies it here in this text.
-
Look what he said. WHO WHOSOEVER
-
COMMITTH SIN. NOW HE IDENTIFIES their
-
real problem.
-
>> THEIR GREATEST PROBLEM WAS NOT ROME.
-
Their greatest problem was sin. Amen.
-
THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> CAN I TELL YOU SOMETHING? I'M OLD.
-
>> AMEN. HEY, LISTEN. CAN I TELL YOU THE
-
WHAT WHAT THE GREATEST PRO THE PROBLEM
-
SALVATION THAT AND THAT WHAT that it's
-
not to be saved from hell.
-
>> Yeah. Tell it, preacher.
-
>> Don't die on me now.
-
>> Tell it, preacher.
-
>> It's to be saved from sin.
-
>> Yach.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Oh, MAN. YOU SAY, "PREACHER, I DON'T
-
KNOW ABOUT THAT." WELL, LISTEN, FRIEND.
-
HOW THE BIBLE SAID BY ONE MAN, I SAID IN
-
SUNDAY SCHOOL, HOW THE BIBLE SAID BY ONE
-
MAN sin entered into the WORLD AND DEATH
-
BY SIN. YOU UNDERSTAND HOW GOD MADE MAN,
-
PUT HIM IN THE GARDEN, GAVE HIM A
-
COMMAND. YOU CAN EAT OF EVERY TREE OF
-
THE GARDEN except the tree of the
-
knowledge of good and evil. IN THE DAY
-
THAT YOU EAT THEREOF, THOU SHALT SURELY
-
DIE. AM I RIGHT ON THAT?
-
>> AND HOW ADAM DISOBEYED GOD. Eve was
-
deceived. She was deceived BY THE
-
SERPENT. SHE GAVE TO ADAM AND HE DID EAT
-
in disobedience.
-
>> Amen. And sin entered this world. Well,
-
what is sin? Sin in your Bible, it
-
listen, it brings death.
-
>> Sin is disobedient. AND AND THAT
-
DISOBEDIENCE BRINGS DEATH. AND DEATH IN
-
YOUR BIBLE IS SEPARATION from God.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> AND AND I SAID IT THERE, SUNDAY SCHOOL.
-
I SAID IT AGAIN. IT'S REALLY TWOFOLD.
-
IT'S SEPARATION OF THE SOUL FROM GOD.
-
AND IT'S SEPARATION OF THE SOUL FROM THE
-
BODY.
-
>> WHEN ADAM SINNED, WHEN HE DISOBEYED GOD,
-
SIN ENTERED IN THIS WORLD AND HE DIED
-
SPIRITUALLY IN THAT MOMENT. HIS SOUL WAS
-
SEPARATED FROM GOD AND LEFT HIM unable
-
to have A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
-
>> AMEN.
-
And listen, THAT'S WHY PEOPLE NEED
-
SALVATION IS BECAUSE THEY ARE IN SIN.
-
AND THAT SIN BRINGS DEATH AND THEIR SOUL
-
WAS SEPARATED FROM GOD. AND THEY'RE
-
UNABLE TO COMMUNE WITH GOD, TO HAVE A
-
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, TO WORSHIP GOD,
-
AND THAT SOUL MUST BE QUICKENED SO THEY
-
CAN BE BROUGHT BACK INTO A RIGHT
-
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. AMEN.
-
>> BUT IF AN INDIVIDUAL DIES IN THEIR SIN,
-
>> THEIR SOUL'S ALREADY SEPARATED FROM GOD.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
AND SO THEIR SOUL WILL GO TO HELL AND
-
SPEND ETERNITY IN A LAKE OF FIRE
-
SEPARATED FROM GOD. AMEN. BECAUSE THE
-
BIBLE SAID THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDE
-
ALREADY ABIDES ON THOSE THAT ARE NOT
-
SAVED. How that those WHO ARE NOT SAVED
-
ARE CONDEMNED ALREADY. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN. NOW, THANK GOD THE RESULT OF BEING
-
DELIVERED FROM SIN MEANS WE'RE DELIVERED
-
FROM HELL. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT. AMEN.
-
YEAH. YEAH.
-
>> BUT THE PROBLEM IS SIN THIS MORNING.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> AND JESUS SAYS IN THIS TEXT, LOOK WHAT
-
HE SAID IN THE TEXT. HE SAID, "VERILY,
-
VERY I SAY IN VERSE 34, WHOSOEVER
-
COMMITTH SIN IS the servant of sin."
-
Now, what's that mean? Hey, LISTEN THAT
-
THAT'S NOT TALKING ABOUT AN ISOLATED act
-
of sin or but the the the phrase commit
-
a sin. He it it h it has the idea of
-
living in sin.
-
>> LIVING AN OPEN REBELLION TOWARD GOD.
-
>> A lifestyle of sin.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> NOT NOT NOT MAKING A MISTAKE MESSING UP,
-
BUT A CONTINUAL LIFESTYLE OF SIN.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> And he says this. He said, "Whoever that
-
committh sin is the servant of sin."
-
That word servant CARRIES OUT OF A
-
SLAVE. AMEN.
-
>> And can I TELL YOU THAT'S WHAT THE IDEA
-
OF THIS TEXT IS? THAT SIN BRINGS
-
BONDAGE.
-
>> YES.
-
>> AMEN. You know why people live in sin is
-
because they're in bondage to that sin
-
>> AND THEY CANNOT ESCAPE THAT BONDAGE.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> Amen. You know why people are addicted
-
to things? It's because they're in
-
bondage to sin. And no matter HOW HARD
-
THEY TRY, THEY CANNOT BREAK free from
-
the CHAINS OF SIN
-
>> BECAUSE THAT'S BECAUSE THEY ARE A
-
SERVANT OF THAT SIN AND IT HAS THEM
-
BOUND AND THEY CANNOT BREAK FREE FROM
-
THAT BONDAGE.
-
>> AMEN. EVERYBODY KNOW WHAT'S THE ANSWER
-
FOR ADDICTION? WHAT'S THE ANSWER FOR
-
THIS? I'M TELL YOU WHAT THE ANSWER IS,
-
FRIEND. IT'S LISTEN GETTING BORN INTO
-
THE FAMILY OF GOD. THE ANSWER IS JESUS
-
AND LETTING HIM BREAK THE BONDS OF SIN.
-
AMEN.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> I REMEMBER BEFORE I GOT SAVED, I mean, I
-
lived the life of sin. I didn't care
-
anything about God. I
-
>> I I've done things that my by my
-
children don't even know about. And all
-
my children have ever known is A
-
PREACHING DADDY. AND AND ALL THEY'VE
-
EVER KNOWN, THEY DON'T KNOW THE WHAT I
-
WAS BEFORE. AND I THANK GOD FOR THAT.
-
>> AMEN. BUT I WAS DOING things and I
-
remember Missy and I were about to GET
-
MARRIED AND I TOLD HER I said I said uh
-
don't let me DO THIS OR DON'T LET ME DO
-
THAT. And every time she'd turn her back
-
I'd run right back to it.
-
>> I MEAN I SHE I I MEAN I DON'T KNOW. I
-
thought she could police me.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> AND EVERY TIME SHE'D TURN AROUND I'D RUN
-
RIGHT BACK TO MY SIN.
-
>> AMEN. AND BOND AND I'D EVEN HAVE GOOD
-
INTENTIONS. I DIDN'T WANT TO GO BACK TO
-
IT.
-
>> AMEN. I MEAN, I SAID, "I'M GOING TO STOP
-
THIS. I'M NOT GOING BACK." BUT AS SOON
-
AS IT WAS BROUGHT BEFORE ME, I WOULD RUN
-
RIGHT BACK TO IT.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE NO, NO MATTER HOW
-
HARD I TRIED, NO MATTER WHO TRIED TO
-
POLICE ME, I WOULD ALWAYS GO BACK TO
-
THAT SIN BECAUSE I WAS IN BONDAGE TO
-
THAT SIN. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN. HOW ABOUT THANK GOD MAY OF 1999 ON
-
THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE ORDER ALONG
-
ABOUT 10 MINUTES OUT OF EIGHT JESUS
-
BROKE THE CHAINS IN MY LIFE AND MY WIFE
-
DON'T HAVE TO POLICE ME. I'M TELLING YOU
-
LISTEN I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT
-
RUNNING BECAUSE HE BROKE THE CHAINS OF
-
SIN IN MY LIFE. AMEN.
-
>> HALLELUJAH.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> AMEN. HEY, SOME OF YOU YOU CAN'T STOP
-
YOUR SINNING BECAUSE YOU STILL IN
-
BONDAGE to it.
-
>> AMEN. AMEN. YOU HAVE A FEW FACTS
-
MEMORIZED. YOU'VE BEEN IN CHURCH LONG
-
ENOUGH TO YOU KNOW THE TRUTH, BUT YOU
-
CANNOT STOP YOUR SIN BECAUSE YOU'RE
-
STILL IN BONDAGE TO IT.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> AMEN, PREACHER.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> THAT'S HARD, PREACHER. WELL, LET'S I'm
-
Am I out of the Bible?
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Amen. You see, WHEN YOU GET SAVED OH, I
-
GOT TO HURRY. I'M I'm I'm getting ahead
-
of myself.
-
>> Hey, listen. Notice their destiny was
-
exposed. Verse 35. and the servant
-
abideth not in the house forever. Jesus
-
here gives A PARABLE AND THE idea is of
-
a slave that lived in a house and a
-
servant or a slave that lived in a house
-
and that that servant that slave had no
-
right to the inheritance of the family.
-
Amen. And you know what the owner of the
-
slave or the servant could do? He could
-
he could kick them out of the house. He
-
could expel them. He could SELL THEM.
-
YOU KNOW WHY? BUT AT ANY TIME THEY HAVE
-
NO RIGHT TO THE INHERITANCE OF THE
-
FATHER'S HOUSE. YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE
-
THEY WERE A SLAVE.
-
>> AND JESUS SAID, HE USES THAT IDEA IN
-
VERSE NUMBER 35. AND A SERVANT ABIDETH
-
NOT in the house forever, but the son
-
abideth forever. You know what he's
-
simply saying this? HE HE SAID, YOU HAVE
-
NO INHERITANCE TO THE FATHER'S HOUSE.
-
And he was tell he tells THEM PREVIOUS
-
IN THIS CHAPTER, YOU'LL DIE IN YOUR SIN.
-
AMEN. Hear me AND HEAR ME WELL. IF
-
YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SET FREE FROM THE
-
BONDAGE OF SIN, FOR YOU HAVE NO
-
INHERITANCE TO THE FATHER'S HOUSE. AND
-
IF YOU DIE WITHOUT GOD, HEY, LISTEN, YOU
-
WILL NOT GO TO HEAVEN. YOU WILL NOT HAVE
-
ANY INHERITANCE OF THE FATHER'S HOUSEH.
-
WHY? BECAUSE LISTEN, YOU ARE A SERVANT
-
TO SIN.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> Notice in the text, the person that must
-
be embraced. Amen. Look what he said.
-
The servant abide verse 35. And the
-
servant abideth not in the house
-
forever, but the son abideth forever. If
-
the son therefore, notice the word
-
therefore. Amen. And it connects back to
-
verse what's said previous. You
-
understand that? If the son therefore
-
shall make you free. So the son has an
-
inheritance to the father's house.
-
That's right.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> AND THE SON OWNS EVERYTHING THAT THE
-
FATHER OWNS. AND AND THE ONLY ONE THAT
-
CAN MAKE YOU FREE IS THE SON.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> And and IF THAT BE THE CASE, HE SAID
-
THERE IF THE SON THEREFORE SHALL MAKE
-
YOU FREE, you shall BE FREE INDEED.
-
NOTICE THE POSSIBILITY OF FREEDOM in the
-
text. He said if. Amen. The word if does
-
not suggest any weakness in Christ or
-
like he's not able to do it. Amen. He's
-
not questioning that that Christ is able
-
to set him free. He's just saying it's
-
possible for all men to be free. Amen.
-
If you are saved, if you have been set
-
free by Christ, then you will listen.
-
You will have an inheritance with the
-
father. You will be set free from the
-
bondage of sin. HEY, LISTEN. IT IS A
-
POSSIBILITY. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT TELLS
-
ME? THAT TELLS ME THAT NOT ALL PEOPLE
-
ARE SAVED, BUT ALL PEOPLE CAN be saved.
-
>> Right.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> And I would dare say this morning, not
-
all people in here are saved. Yeah, tell
-
it, preacher.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> You say, "Preacher, you don't know
-
anything about me." You're right. I
-
don't. But I know this. If you're a
-
servant of sin, you are yet in your
-
sins, and you have never been born again
-
by the grace of God.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> And so, listen, in this, there was many
-
in this crowd. They they believe some
-
things. Amen. You may believe some
-
things
-
that don't mean you've been saved.
-
Are we all right?
-
>> ARE WE ALL AROUND TIME? I KNOW WHAT TIME
-
Y'ALL. YOU HEY, LISTEN. BUT BUT HEAR ME.
-
HEAR ME. BEFORE I GOT SAVED, I KNEW THAT
-
JESUS DIED AND WAS BURIED and rose again
-
the third day. Heard that my whole life.
-
>> I have no problem believing that.
-
>> I mean, I'm raising a BIBLE BELT. I I'M
-
LISTEN, I And there was not things to
-
influence like they are now. There was
-
not Facebook and and and and and and all
-
these other things. YouTube and all. I
-
mean, all I'd ever heard Jesus died and
-
buried and rose again. That's all I ever
-
heard.
-
>> Had no problem believing that.
-
>> Amen. Somebody asked me if I believed in
-
Jesus. I said, "Absolutely."
-
>> Amen.
-
>> I mean, I mean, I was not raised in
-
church, BUT I'D BEEN I KNEW ENOUGH. I'D
-
heard
-
>> somebody help me. Amen. Yeah.
-
>> But just BECAUSE I UNDERSTOOD THAT, I
-
REMEMBER AS A 9-YEAR-OLD BOY, VACATION
-
Bible school, I went with some friends
-
of mine. THE PREACHER SAID, "EVERYBODY
-
WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN, RAISE YOUR HAND."
-
>> YEAH.
-
>> ABSOLUTELY. Who don't?
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> Come on, somebody help me. Amen.
-
>> And he said, "Everybody wants to go to
-
heaven, raise your hand." Raise my hand.
-
He said, "ALL RIGHT, COME DOWN TO
-
ALTAR." AND I WENT DOWN THE ALTAR. And
-
he looked at me and he said, "DO YOU
-
BELIEVE JESUS DIED and was buried and
-
rose again THE THIRD DAY?" I SAID, "I
-
do." He said, "Well, then get up. you're
-
saved. Tell everybody.
-
>> And I got up and I and and and I went
-
around to I I went back home told I got
-
saved out of Bible school.
-
>> Amen. But here's the problem. I did not
-
know why Jesus died.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> I didn't know. I didn't understand that
-
he died for my sin. Right.
-
>> I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT IT WAS MY SIN
-
THAT NAILED HIM TO AN OLD RUGGED CROSS.
-
I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS GUILTY
-
BEFORE A HOLY GOD. AND IT WAS MY SIN
-
THAT CRUCIFIED HIM. AND IT WAS MY SIN
-
THAT SEPARATED ME FROM GOD. AND IT WAS
-
MY SIN THAT BROKE CONDEMNATION. AND IT
-
WAS MY SIN WAS A REASON I WAS GOING TO
-
HELL. I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ANY OF THAT.
-
>> AMEN. I BUT THANK GOD FOR THE DAY WHEN I
-
REALIZED WHEN IT WAS MY SIN THAT HUNG
-
HIM THERE. WHEN I WAS CONDEMNED, WHEN I
-
WAS GUILTY, WHEN IT WAS MY SIN, I
-
CRUCIFIED THE SON OF GOD AND I CAME DOWN
-
TO ALTER. YOU KNOW WHAT I DID? I
-
REPENTED OF MY SIN. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> That's right. Everybody repent. You know
-
what? Listen, if you really want to get
-
saved and God showed you, you're you'll
-
naturally turn from sin. Yeah, right.
-
>> Because you understand it was sin that
-
crucified him.
-
>> And you understand THAT HE HAD TO DIE
-
FOR YOUR SIN. AND LISTEN, APART FROM
-
THAT, YOU WOULD HAVE NO HOPE. BUT THANK
-
GOD, HE DIED FROM YOUR FOR YOUR SIN.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> AND YOU NATURALLY WERE TURNED TO GOD
-
FROM SIN. AND YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS? THE
-
CHAIN IS BROKEN.
-
>> BONDAGE IS SET FREE FROM BONDAGE. AMEN.
-
>> OH, LISTEN. THERE IS THE POWER. I GOT TO
-
HURRY. THERE IS THE POWER FOR FREEDOM.
-
HE SAID, "IF THE SUN THEREFORE MAKE YOU
-
FREE, YOU SHOULD BE FREE INDEED." AMEN.
-
>> I'm telling you, thank God, I'M NOT FREE
-
BECAUSE I'M A I'M AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.
-
AND I THANK GOD FOR THAT. BUT I'M NOT
-
FREE FROM MY SIN BECAUSE I'M AN
-
AMERICAN. I'M NOT FREE FROM MY SIN
-
BECAUSE I'M IN CHURCH. I'M NOT FREE FROM
-
MY SIN BECAUSE I'M IN THE MINISTRY. I'M
-
NOT FREE FROM MY SIN BECAUSE I WAS
-
RAISED IN THE BIBLE. I'M FREE FROM MY
-
SIN BECAUSE THE SON, BECAUSE THE LORD
-
JESUS CHRIST, BECAUSE THE LAMB OF GOD
-
CAME BY WHERE I WAS AND RESCUED ME FROM
-
THE PENALTY AND CONDEMNATION AND SET ME
-
FREE. AMEN.
-
>> HALLELUJAH. Come on.
-
>> IT'S THE SON.
-
>> YOU KNOW HOW I'M SAVED TODAY? BECAUSE
-
THE SON, THANK GOD, HE CAME TO WHERE I
-
WAS. HE SAVED ME. HE FORGAVE ME OF MY
-
SIN. AMEN. Bless his name.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> THE SON, THE POWER OF FREEDOM. AMEN.
-
He's able to make you FREE BECAUSE OF
-
WHO HE IS. HE IS THE SON OF GOD. UH HE'S
-
NOT JUST A MAN, BUT HE IS THE SON OF THE
-
LIVING GOD. HE'S ABLE TO MAKE YOU FREE
-
BECAUSE UH LISTEN TO WHERE HE DWELLS.
-
HE'S IN THE FATHER'S HOUSE. HE SAYS IT
-
IN THE TEXT. HE'S ABLE TO MAKE YOU FREE
-
BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DONE. HE PAID FOR
-
YOUR SIN AT CALVARY. AMEN.
-
>> AMEN.
-
Oh Lord, help me. There's the product of
-
freedom. Look at it. Oh, I love this.
-
And I feel like running. Look what he
-
said. Verse 30. If the son therefore
-
shall make YOU FREE, YOU SHALL BE free
-
indeed.
-
>> Truly free INDEED. THANK GOD. LISTEN,
-
I'M FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN. I'VE
-
BEEN SET FREE. THEY CAN TAKE ME AND LOCK
-
ME UP IN A PRISON, BUT I'LL BE JUST AS
-
FREE AS I'VE EVER BEEN. BECAUSE THANK
-
GOD HE SET ME FREE.
-
>> HALLELUJAH.
-
>> And I've heard people make this
-
statement. Are y'all right?
-
>> I KNOW I'M SAVED BECAUSE WHEN I start to
-
do wrong, something Don't say amen.
-
>> Come on.
-
>> WHEN I START TO DO WRONG, SOMETHING
-
TELLS me that that's wrong.
-
WELL, WHEN ADAM PTOOK OF THAT FRUIT, HE
-
TOOK OF he ptook of the FRUIT OF THE
-
KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND WHAT? SOMEBODY
-
HELP ME.
-
>> EVIL.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> MAN HAS A CONSCIENCE.
-
>> YEAH.
-
>> THAT NATURALLY KNOWS GOOD AND EVIL.
-
>> YEP. THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> AND BEFORE I GOT SAVED, I KNEW IT'S
-
wrong to murder.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> Right.
-
>> That's right. I knew it was wrong to
-
commit adultery, to fornicate, and all
-
this. I knew that was wrong.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> Amen. But that didn't make me saved.
-
>> But here's the difference. When you get
-
saved,
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> and you get freed FROM THAT BONDAGE OF
-
sin and you trip up and commit sin.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> There's a grief on the inside.
-
Amen. THERE'S A BROKENNESS ON THE INSIDE
-
BECAUSE YOU HAVE JUST OFFENDED GOD.
-
>> I never tell this in I never tell this
-
in church. I never tell this. I told
-
this in prison. I don't know how many
-
times, but I've never told this in
-
church, I don't think. But I never do. I
-
got saved six months after I got saved.
-
I was working construction. I was in
-
South Carolina.
-
And God had delivered me. I was I was a
-
drunk. I was a drug addict. I mean, all
-
that stuff. God delivered me from all
-
that. I may throw a hatist.
-
Set me free. I don't even I don't even
-
understand how he's done it. Set me
-
free.
-
Six months after I got saved, I was at a
-
restaurant and a friend of mine, he
-
said, "Let's order a beer. Want to order
-
an alcoholic beverage." And I said, "No,
-
no, no. God saved me. I have no desire
-
for that. Don't want him.
-
>> Please don't look down on me."
-
>> He kept on. He kept on and kept on.
-
young people, you better be careful who
-
you run with.
-
>> Are you hearing me?
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> He kept on and kept on and I I ordered
-
one.
-
>> And I can remember it like it was
-
yesterday.
-
The pizza joint in Greenwood, South
-
Carolina,
-
and they brought it sit it down. And I
-
picked it up and took one sip
-
and the Holy Ghost.
-
Yeah.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> I was four hours AWAY FROM MY CHURCH,
-
four hours away FROM MY WIFE. AIN'T
-
NOBODY WOULD HAVE EVER KNOWN
-
>> but the Holy Ghost
-
>> broke my heart.
-
>> And I listen I begin to weep and cry and
-
and by the grace of God I sit it down
-
and pushed it back. AND I LISTEN THAT'S
-
BEEN that's been over I DON'T KNOW 27
-
YEARS AGO AND I HAVEN'T TOUCHED THIS.
-
SEE, IT'S NOT BECAUSE I'M ANYTHING, BUT
-
BECAUSE HE BROKE LISTEN, WHEN yet God
-
breaks the bondage of sin in your life
-
and you try to put them back on,
-
>> they don't feel the same anymore.
-
>> I SAID THEY DON'T FEEL THE SAME ANYMORE,
-
FRIEND. AND IF YOU CAN STILL WEAR THE
-
CHAINS OF SIN, IF YOU CAN STILL LIVE AND
-
SEE IT, IF YOU CAN STILL TRAVEL DOWN THE
-
ROAD OF TRANSGRESSION AND IT DOES NOT
-
BOTHER YOU.
-
>> COME ON.
-
I'd really examine
-
if I was in the faith.
-
Amen.
-
Hey, some of you bothered this morning.
-
I ain't trying to make nobody down, but
-
I'm just telling you something, friend.
-
I know I'm saved. Do you know that?
-
>> Amen. Why do you know that? How do you
-
know that?
-
The greatest day. Thank God for that
-
day.
-
>> Amen. But thank God for this day.
-
>> OH, I'M TELLING YOU, FRIEND. LISTEN, I'M
-
GLAD I'M AN AMERICAN. BUT IF I WASN'T AN
-
AMERICAN, I THANK GOD I'M A CHRISTIAN.
-
I'VE BEEN SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD.
-
I'VE BEEN SET FREE.
-
>> And that is the greatest
-
>> day of independence.
-
my life. Here's the question this
-
morning. Have you ever had a day like
-
that?
-
Have you ever been set free from a
-
bondage of sin?
-
Or if you died, would you die in your
-
sin?
-
And if you do, friend, you will be
-
separated
-
from God. Have I preached the Bible this
-
morning?
-
>> Amen. Yes.
-
>> And I tell I tell you what concerns me.
-
There's there's not a doubt in my mind.
-
There's people here that are not saved.
-
>> They doubt my mind. Say, "Preacher, you
-
shouldn't say that." Well, I don't think
-
God would have me to preach a message
-
like this to the pews.
-
And it doubt my mind there's people here
-
not saved.
-
Amen.
-
Two things.
-
If you know for sure that you are saved,
-
you should be broken.
-
Because there's people here not. Amen.
-
And if you're here and you're not saved,
-
you don't have to lead that way.
-
You can get saved today. You can get
-
born again today. Get freed from
-
bondage. Amen. Let's bow our head for a
-
word of prayer. I'm gonna pray. I try to
-
preach everything. I try to preach every
-
I try to preach so many other things,
-
but God the Holy Ghost kept bringing me
-
back this text, this message this
-
morning.
-
And I want I wonder if you're here and
-
you're not saved. I wonder if you died
-
right now. Are you satisfied? Are you
-
satisfied you'll be in heaven? Are you
-
satisfied, friend, that you're saved
-
today? And ain't nobody looking around
-
but me and the Lord. I wonder I wonder
-
who'd be the first one to say,
-
"Preacher, I'm not saved. If I died
-
right now, I'd go to hell. I realize
-
that I've I've never been set free from
-
my sin. I am not saved. Pray for me.
-
Would you just slip your hand up? Say,
-
"Preacher, pray for me. I won't
-
embarrass you when I come to you." I
-
will pray for you, preacher. I am not
-
saved. Let me pray for you this morning.
-
Would there be one somewhere in the
-
building?
-
Would there be one?
-
How about this? I'm done. I'm I'm I'm
-
going to pray. We're going to give an
-
invitation.
-
How many with the uplift in a hand say,
-
"Preacher, I know beyond a shadow of a
-
doubt that my name's written in heaven."
-
And you can raise your hand real high
-
and say, "Preacher, I know that I know
-
that I know that I know." Raise them
-
real high if you know beyond a shadow of
-
a doubt that you're saved today. Ain't
-
no doubt in your mind that you know God.
-
AIN'T NO DOUBT IN YOUR mind that you're
-
going to heaven. RAISE THEM REAL HIGH,
-
FRIEND. IF YOU KNOW THAT, YOU WAVE THEM
-
TO THE LORD. IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU KNOW
-
THAT YOU KNOW, WAVE THEM LIKE YOU MEAN
-
IT. WAVE THEM LIKE YOU'RE GRATEFUL FOR
-
IT. THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU
-
KNOW THAT YOU'RE SAVED.
-
Thank God. You can put them down.
-
Here's what I noticed.
-
Some of you can't do that today.
-
And what I beg of you
-
is that you would come get in this
-
altar.
-
Let somebody take a Bible. Show you how
-
you can get saved today.
-
Get transformed.
-
Father, thank you for the privilege to
-
be in the house of God. Thank you for
-
the word of God. And I pray dear God in
-
heaven that you'll touch hearts. Lord, I
-
beg you please for those that are not
-
saved. God, I'm begging you. Please God,
-
I pray the spirit of God, Lord, no doubt
-
you already have arrested their soul
-
and revealed to them that they are not
-
they are not saved.
-
God, I pray
-
that the power of God
-
would draw them and I pray God in heaven
-
that they would not resist you today.
-
Lord, I pray they'd run to you and get
-
saved. moving the invitation. Bind the
-
forces of hell. Remove every obstacle.
-
Do what only you can. We'll thank you
-
for it in Jesus name.
-
Amen. Amen. Preacher, you come.
