  8. Charlie Branch with a word from God.

  9. >> Amen. Good to be in the house of the

  10. Lord tonight. Sure am thankful it's well

  11. with my soul. Amen.

  12. >> Well, if it's not with yours, it can be

  13. before the night's over with.

  14. >> Sure am thankful. I can tell people that

  15. God's still in the saving business.

  16. >> And the blood still works.

  17. >> Holy Ghost still draws.

  18. >> Jesus still saving. Amen.

  19. >> Thank the Lord for that. That's why the

  20. Head family wants to get out west so

  21. they can tell him tell them people that

  22. Jesus still saving it. Amen.

  23. >> My brother Brian, his family trying to

  24. get to Scotland. Go tell people Jesus

  25. still saved. Amen.

  26. >> We want to get them there as quickly as

  27. we can. Amen.

  28. >> Uh people are dying every day without

  29. Jesus and they need to hear that. Well,

  30. it's good to be here. Take your Bibles

  31. tonight. Let's go to the book of Second

  32. Corinthians.

  33. 2 Corinthians chapter number eight

  34. tonight. Real familiar, especially

  35. around missions meetings. I just give

  36. you a simple little thought tonight. try

  37. to mind the Lord this evening. I've been

  38. working on something to me was newer and

  39. fresh and I thought I had it ready, but

  40. um Lord sees

  41. sees something I don't. Amen. So, we

  42. going to go to something uh something

  43. more familiar probably to many of you. 2

  44. Corinthians chapter number eight.

  45. Of course, this is the second letter

  46. that Paul is writing to the church at

  47. Corenth. He's done written one. And in

  48. that first letter, of course, it wasn't

  49. broken up in chapters when he wrote it,

  50. but in chapter 16, he tells these

  51. Corinthians about an offering.

  52. He'd already given order to the church

  53. of of Galatia, and he's wanting the

  54. church of Corinth to do this as well,

  55. that upon the first day of the week,

  56. everyone's to boast to lay by them in

  57. store if God has prospered them. And

  58. then he said he's going to send somebody

  59. by and pick up that offering and they're

  60. going to be using it for the saints in a

  61. different location.

  62. >> We realize that this offering that he's

  63. dealing with in First Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 16 chapter mention

  64. chapter 16 is not a tithe offering.

  65. >> Nobody comes by our churches and picks

  66. up our tithes and takes them somewhere

  67. else. Amen.

  68. >> So he's not talking about a tithe

  69. offering. He's talking about a different

  70. offering. And so um the churches of

  71. Galatia has been doing this. The church

  72. of Corinth is committed to do this. And

  73. now Paul's going to re be reminding this

  74. church at Corinth about this commitment

  75. to give uh as he had already commanded

  76. them to here in 2 Corinthians chapter

  77. number eight. Look at with me in verse

  78. number one. The Bible said, "Moreover,

  79. brethren, we do you to wit of the grace

  80. of God bestowed on the churches of

  81. Macedonia,

  82. how that in a great trial of affliction,

  83. the abundance of their joy, and their

  84. deep poverty abounded under the riches

  85. of their liberality. For to their power,

  86. I bear record, yay, and beyond their

  87. power. They were willing of themselves,

  88. praying us with much intreaty, that we

  89. would receive the gift, and take upon us

  90. the fellowship of the ministering to the

  91. saints.

  92. This they did, not as we hope, but first

  93. gave their own selves to the Lord, and

  94. unto us by the will of God, in so much

  95. that we desired Titus, that as he had

  96. begun, so he would also finish in you

  97. the same grace also.

  98. Therefore, as ye abound in everything,

  99. in faith and utterance and knowledge,

  100. and in all diligence, and in your love

  101. to us, see that ye abound in this grace

  102. also. I speak not by commandment, but by

  103. occasion of the forwardness of others,

  104. and to prove the sincerity of your love.

  105. You know the grace of the Lord Jesus

  106. Christ, that though he was rich, yet for

  107. your sakes he became poor, that ye

  108. through his poverty might be rich. And

  109. herein I give my advice, for this is

  110. expedient for you, who have begun

  111. before, not only to do, but also to be

  112. forward a year ago. Now therefore

  113. perform the doing of it, that as there

  114. was a readiness to will, so there may be

  115. a performance also out of that which you

  116. have. For if there be first a willing

  117. mind, is accepted according to that a

  118. man hath, and not according to that he

  119. hath not. For I mean not that other men

  120. be eased, and ye be burdened, but by an

  121. equality, that now at this time your

  122. abundance may be a supply for their

  123. want, and that their abundance also may

  124. be a supply for your want, that there

  125. may be equality. Let's pray. Father, we

  126. are truly grateful for this privilege

  127. you've given us to come back together

  128. again this evening. Lord, I thank you

  129. for everything that has already been

  130. said and done. Lord, thank you for the

  131. singing. It stirred our hearts and uh

  132. we're grateful for it. Lord, I thank you

  133. for the presentation, [snorts]

  134. the heart, the the ministry, God, that

  135. you call brother Jonathan, his family

  136. to. Lord, I pray that you'd get them

  137. there quickly that they might be a

  138. witness, Lord, to those that need to

  139. hear about Jesus. Lord, I thank you for

  140. this church. Thank you, Lord, for their

  141. love that they've already shown to us. I

  142. pray rich blessings upon each one that's

  143. here this evening as we look into the

  144. word of God. Would you please Lord

  145. please speak the hearts tonight. Lord,

  146. do what only you can do in this service.

  147. God, if you will touch me fresh, give me

  148. liberty to preach. And God, we'll try

  149. our very best to thank you for whatever

  150. it is that you do, Lord, for it's in

  151. Jesus precious name that we pray. And

  152. amen. As Paul begins to remind these

  153. Corinthians about the commitment that

  154. they have made to give, he is turning

  155. their attention toward an area known as

  156. Macedonia.

  157. Macedonia was located in northern

  158. Greece. And in that Macedonian area, you

  159. had three good churches. You had the

  160. church of Philippi, the church of

  161. Thessalonica, and the church of Berea.

  162. Those churches are in that Macedonian

  163. area. Those churches are the one that

  164. he's wanting the Corinthians to look at.

  165. That word wit means to look at. So he

  166. said, "Moreover, brethren, we knew you

  167. to wit to look at the grace of God

  168. bestowed on the churches of Macedonia."

  169. Then he goes into detail giving us some

  170. information about these churches of

  171. Macedonia. What God is doing in midst

  172. these churches of Macedonia and he wants

  173. them to get in on what's happening in

  174. Macedonia.

  175. A lot of negative things have been said

  176. about the church of Corinth and I

  177. understand that to an extent. They did

  178. deal with a whole lot of carnality and

  179. things of that nature. But in verse

  180. number seven, under the inspiration of

  181. the Holy Ghost, Paul says this about

  182. those church or that church at Corinth,

  183. he said, "Therefore, as ye the

  184. Corinthians, abound in everything."

  185. >> What about that? That church at Corinth

  186. was abounding. Well, Paul said under the

  187. inspiration of the Holy Ghost, in

  188. everything.

  189. >> And he begins to list those things in

  190. faith and utterance and knowledge and in

  191. all diligence and in your love to us.

  192. Then he adds this. See that you abound

  193. in this grace also. What grace is he

  194. referring to? [snorts] He's referring to

  195. the grace that is being bestowed upon

  196. those churches in Macedonia. Again, he's

  197. trying to turn their direction to look

  198. at what was happening in Macedonia. For

  199. the next little bit, if God help us, I

  200. want us as a church. Let's look at

  201. Macedonia together. as Paul charged the

  202. Corinthians to do. And let's see what's

  203. happening in Macedonia. In verse number

  204. two, we start to see a few interesting

  205. things about these churches of

  206. Macedonia. First of all, we read this

  207. how that in a great trial of affliction.

  208. >> We see that these churches, these people

  209. in Macedonia are dealing with a great

  210. trial of affliction.

  211. I love how the Holy Ghost uses

  212. adjectives.

  213. >> They're not just dealing with a trial.

  214. >> It's not just a trial of affliction.

  215. >> The Holy Ghost wanted us to know that

  216. it's a great trial

  217. >> of affliction. That's right.

  218. >> I'm not real sure exactly what it might

  219. have been. I've got some ideas, but

  220. that's neither here or there. It really

  221. don't matter what that trial was. The

  222. bottom line is they are dealing with it.

  223. It's a great trial of affliction. So, we

  224. see immediately that these churches in

  225. Macedonia had some problems that they're

  226. dealing with. Y'all with me? Yes,

  227. >> sir.

  228. >> I don't know of a church anywhere

  229. tonight that don't have some problems

  230. that they have to deal with.

  231. >> There's somebody here probably looking

  232. for that church that don't have none.

  233. >> I want to give you a little information.

  234. You're going to be looking for a long

  235. time. I I don't think we're ever going

  236. to find a church that don't have some

  237. problem to deal with. Boy, ain't heaven

  238. sounding sweeter all the time.

  239. >> I I can't wait to get to a place where

  240. there won't be no more problems to deal

  241. with. Amen. Uh but until then, uh we are

  242. going to continually deal with problems.

  243. They had a great trial of affliction.

  244. And also in verse number two, uh, we'll

  245. find not only are they dealing with a

  246. great trial of affliction, they are

  247. living in what's called deep poverty.

  248. There's another one of them adjectives.

  249. They are not just living in poverty.

  250. They are in deep poverty. I don't know

  251. what your definition would be of poverty

  252. tonight, but I highly believe that

  253. there's none of us living, probably not

  254. even living in poverty,

  255. much less deep poverty.

  256. >> Would you agree with that?

  257. >> You may have a different definition of

  258. poverty than I do. And so maybe we might

  259. might not see eye eye to eye on this.

  260. You may think you're in deep poverty,

  261. but go with me for a little while on one

  262. of my trips that we take. And uh I tell

  263. you what, I mentioned it yesterday. I've

  264. been over to Africa a few times and

  265. especially one country in particular.

  266. Bkina Faso, we mentioned that last

  267. night. Brother Keith Shoemakers over

  268. there, tremendous missionary veteran,

  269. been there for going on about 30 years

  270. now. And I've got to go over several

  271. times and be with brother Keith. And one

  272. in particular in trip that we made, uh,

  273. brother Charlie, brother Keith sent me a

  274. message and he wanted to know if that

  275. might be a possibility of us putting a

  276. team together and come over and help

  277. him. I said, "Sure, we'd love to. What

  278. do you need?" He said, "We have found

  279. some villages that's never heard the

  280. name Jesus, and we want to try to go out

  281. and try to reach some of those villages

  282. and introduce them to Christ." That

  283. became immediately exciting. So, we put

  284. a team together. There's 11 of us went

  285. over. And uh for two and a half weeks,

  286. we did not stay in motel. We didn't even

  287. get to stay at the missionaries house.

  288. We literally stayed out under the stars

  289. covered with a mosquito net. Amen. I

  290. ain't got time giving y'all the details

  291. about that. But we went into these

  292. villages. We found seven villages. Seven

  293. of them in different locations that had

  294. never heard the name Jesus.

  295. >> Hard for us to fathom.

  296. >> There's people out there that still

  297. never heard.

  298. More people in the world's heard of

  299. CocaCola

  300. >> than they have Jesus. What about that?

  301. >> They're still out there. He found seven

  302. villages. Some of these men had went out

  303. and found where they was and located

  304. them. And we were told by a couple of

  305. these men that these villages probably

  306. never even seen a white man. And so what

  307. we would do, we would go into these

  308. villages and we'd find the tribal chief

  309. and we would we would get his

  310. permission. We'd gain his friendship.

  311. Never failed. They always welcomed us in

  312. with open arms. And we would sat down

  313. with the tribal chief and we would ask

  314. him if we could meet with his people.

  315. and we would call them to the center of

  316. the village and we would stand up and

  317. just preach Christ to them and tell them

  318. about a man that loved them enough to

  319. die for their sin. Amen. And so what we

  320. would do, they would allow us the

  321. opportunity. We'd go around from hut to

  322. hut and invite everybody to come to the

  323. center of the village. I'll never forget

  324. this. one of the first huts that we went

  325. to and going around the perimeter of the

  326. village, we walked up to a straw hut put

  327. together with straw and mud. Not

  328. concrete, not quickrete, just mud. Straw

  329. and mud. Standing outside the hut in the

  330. doorway was a young lady probably in her

  331. mid20s, I'm assuming. And she's standing

  332. there with a broom, just a stick with

  333. some straw tied to the end of it. And

  334. she's sweeping the ground in front of

  335. her doorway,

  336. smiling from ear to ear. We walked up to

  337. her and she's amazed that we're there.

  338. And she steps back and she starts

  339. pointing us to go in her hut.

  340. So, we went into her hut. We was

  341. welcomed into her house, if you will.

  342. Brother Michael, we walked in and I soon

  343. as I walked in, I just looked around and

  344. I scanned real quickly. It didn't take

  345. just a moment. And over here to the

  346. right as I went in, it's where her and

  347. her children slept at night. There

  348. there's no bed. There's no cot. There's

  349. not even an egg crate. There's no

  350. sheets. There's no quilts. There's no

  351. blanket. It's just a worn out spot on

  352. the ground. tells where they slept. I

  353. scanned on around and right over here

  354. next to that then was some handmade

  355. shelves. She'd made them out of clay.

  356. Probably did it herself. And everything

  357. she had was on those shelves. All there

  358. was was some handmade pottery that she

  359. had made herself. Some bowls and cups

  360. and scanned on around her kitchen. Had a

  361. little fire pit there. And I guess

  362. somehow another she'd cooked right

  363. there. There's a couple of bowls and had

  364. some kind of grain and some kind of

  365. little beater that you she'd mash that

  366. grain up with. And and that's that's

  367. everything she had. I I didn't see a

  368. recliner. I didn't see a couch. I didn't

  369. see an air conditioning on the wall.

  370. There was no ceiling fan. There wasn't

  371. even a light bulb. Y'all with me? There

  372. wasn't a toilet seat. There was

  373. absolutely nothing. I don't know what

  374. your definition of poverty is, but to me

  375. now that would be deep poverty.

  376. >> And the Holy Ghost said that these

  377. people in Macedonia

  378. were in deep poverty.

  379. >> What about that?

  380. >> Well, let's look what else we can find.

  381. We we see their problem. We see their

  382. poverty. But now, watch this. Right in

  383. the middle of that great trial of

  384. affliction, verse two. Now, right in the

  385. middle of the great trial of affliction

  386. and the deep poverty, I find something

  387. else. Not only did they have a great

  388. trial, not only were they in deep

  389. poverty, watch this. The Holy Ghost said

  390. they had an abundance of joy.

  391. >> That don't make sense to us.

  392. Help me now, church. There's another one

  393. of them adjectives. They didn't just

  394. have joy. Holy Ghost said they had an

  395. abundance of it.

  396. >> Oh my.

  397. >> That tells me two things real quickly.

  398. Joy does not come from having things.

  399. >> No, no, no.

  400. >> If it took things to bring joy, much

  401. less abundant joy, they'd never had it

  402. in Macedonia.

  403. >> That tells me another thing. Joy does

  404. not come from circumstances. That's

  405. right.

  406. >> If it took good circumstances to bring

  407. joy, they wouldn't had none massed on

  408. you.

  409. >> Cuz they got great trials and deep

  410. poverty.

  411. >> That tells me that joy must come from a

  412. relationship.

  413. >> Amen.

  414. >> It don't come from circumstances and

  415. things.

  416. >> They had something that some of us are

  417. looking for.

  418. >> Amen.

  419. >> I'm gonna be honest with you. Help me

  420. right here. I don't know that I'm

  421. willing and asking for some great

  422. trials.

  423. I don't know that I'm going to go ask

  424. for deep poverty just so I can have

  425. abundance of joy.

  426. >> Amen.

  427. >> I may not be may not sound real

  428. spiritual, but I'm just Lord, if it'd be

  429. all right, I'd like to I'd like to find

  430. that abundance of joy without the

  431. problems in the poverty. Wouldn't you?

  432. >> Well, guess what? It can be found

  433. without the problems and poverty. It's

  434. in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  435. >> Amen.

  436. >> So, right in the middle of these two

  437. things, they had an abundance

  438. of joy.

  439. You mix those three things together,

  440. that's what happens here in verse two. A

  441. great trial of affliction, abundance of

  442. joy, deep poverty, and those three

  443. things abounded to resulted in the

  444. product of that was their, notice what

  445. it said, riches of their liberality.

  446. Now, y'all going to have to help me

  447. right here. I think we understand

  448. riches. the depth, the greatness

  449. of their liberality. What's liberality?

  450. Liberality here simply means their

  451. giving. [clears throat]

  452. >> Now wait a minute. How does somebody in

  453. deep poverty able to give anything much

  454. less, here's another adjective, richly.

  455. >> Amen.

  456. >> Said that ain't possible. I believe it

  457. is.

  458. >> We We want to read on. We got to we got

  459. to find out how that's possible. Verse

  460. number three reveals the how that's

  461. possible. For to their power I bear

  462. record yay and beyond

  463. >> their power.

  464. >> H

  465. you see it wasn't it wasn't them that

  466. was able to do that. It was God that was

  467. able to do that through them.

  468. >> Amen.

  469. >> We see their power. I've got to get

  470. somewhere and I've got to kick it in

  471. high gear. Y'all with me? It's about 9

  472. minutes till late, y'all. Okay.

  473. >> If you don't know, I'll throw out the

  474. time every now and then just try to be a

  475. blessing to you. It It's hard. It's hard

  476. to look at the watch or the clock while

  477. the preacher's preaching.

  478. >> Y'all know that, don't you? You don't

  479. want him to catch you.

  480. >> It's embarrassing when the preacher

  481. catches you. So, I'll just try to be a

  482. blessing to you. I'll throw it out every

  483. now and then. Just see if it'll help

  484. you. All right. It it's about 8 minutes

  485. late now. And I'm going to try my best

  486. to hurry. Some of you got to get up

  487. early and go to work. So, we'll remember

  488. that.

  489. >> So, we see their problem. We see their

  490. poverty. We see their product. We see

  491. their power. Notice with me real quickly

  492. their pre pleasure. Verse four, praying

  493. us with much intreaty that we would

  494. receive the gift and take upon us the

  495. fellowship of the ministering to the

  496. saints.

  497. >> That word praying right there simply

  498. means asking.

  499. asking us with much intreaty. That means

  500. to beg,

  501. >> to plead. Here's what's happening. Verse

  502. four says, these Macedonians was asking

  503. Paul, pleading with Paul, would you

  504. please let us be a part of? Would you

  505. please let us fellowship? Would you

  506. please let us help in the ministering to

  507. the saints?

  508. Here, here's what they said. We want to

  509. give to that. Yeah,

  510. >> we want to be involved in that

  511. >> in spite of their deep poverty. I I

  512. believe, brother Charlie, if there's

  513. ever been a people had a good excuse not

  514. to give,

  515. >> it'd been them Macedonians.

  516. >> Yes, sir.

  517. >> Brother Paul, we we we admire what

  518. you're trying to do. I believe it's a

  519. good cause to help the poor saints in

  520. Jerusalem. We we really we're behind you

  521. 100%. We we can't we can't help you.

  522. Maybe come back next year. Maybe things

  523. will be a little different.

  524. >> Amen.

  525. >> I mean, they would have they could have

  526. easily done that. It'd been legit.

  527. >> Amen.

  528. >> But they wasn't satisfied, man. Paul,

  529. please, please let us be a part of this.

  530. Let us be involved in this fellowship of

  531. the ministering to the saints. Paul

  532. might have said, he probably didn't, but

  533. he could have thought it. How you going

  534. to do that?

  535. And Paul finds out how he how they done

  536. that. God's doing it through them. For

  537. to their power I bear record. Yay. And

  538. beyond their power.

  539. >> So we see their pleasure. Here's where I

  540. want to get to. Verse number five. We're

  541. going to see their priority. Talking

  542. about the Macedonians. And this they

  543. did. This next statement. Look at it.

  544. Not as we hoped. That sounds like a

  545. negative statement, does it not? Sounds

  546. like a letdown. Not as we hoped. It

  547. almost sounds like they were hoping for

  548. more,

  549. >> but it's really right the opposite.

  550. >> Yeah.

  551. >> It's not a let down. They did the

  552. unexpected.

  553. >> Yes.

  554. >> They did beyond what was hoped.

  555. >> In the fact, here's the first thing that

  556. they did. Hey, would before they ever

  557. wrote a check,

  558. before they ever reached in the wallet,

  559. >> Yeah.

  560. >> before they ever dug out the jar behind

  561. the house,

  562. >> before they ever did anything, the first

  563. thing they gave, look what it said, they

  564. gave their own selves to the Lord

  565. >> and us by the will of God.

  566. The key to all that we're trying to do,

  567. I want you get a hold of this. The key

  568. to missions,

  569. the key to Christianity,

  570. >> the key to church,

  571. the key to ministry. Right? Here it is.

  572. The first thing they did, they gave

  573. their own selves to the Lord.

  574. >> First thing, not the last thing. The

  575. first thing that I got to ask y'all a

  576. question. I'm hurrying. It's about Oh

  577. my. It's about four minutes till

  578. let's see if we can speed it up just a

  579. little bit. The question is, have you

  580. ever given yourself

  581. to the Lord?

  582. >> Fair question, preacher.

  583. >> Fair question. Really is. I I'm not

  584. asking, listen, I'm not asking if you

  585. got saved.

  586. Hang on with me now. I'm not asking you

  587. if you got saved. I'm asking you, have

  588. you ever given yourself to the Lord?

  589. >> There's a difference.

  590. >> There's a big difference.

  591. >> Hopefully, if the Lord help me, I'll

  592. explain that to you in a moment. I'm

  593. asking if you've ever given him

  594. yourself.

  595. Lock, stock, and barrel. No bargaining.

  596. Here it is. Lord, here I am. You can

  597. have it. You ever done that? You'd be

  598. surprised how many good Baptist church

  599. members ain't never done that.

  600. >> Ain't never done that. And then there's

  601. some that has done that, but it's been a

  602. while.

  603. >> It's been a while. I don't know what

  604. God's going to do here tonight, Monday

  605. night, first first week night of the

  606. missions conference. And I'm excited

  607. about it. Been excited about it for a

  608. while. Hoping God's going to do some big

  609. things.

  610. really am.

  611. >> And maybe here in just a few minutes,

  612. Brother Charlie, I guess there'll be an

  613. invitation.

  614. And I don't know what's going to happen.

  615. I really don't. But what if what if one

  616. person,

  617. just just one, what if one

  618. got up out of a pew here in a little

  619. bit, came down to an oldfashioned altar,

  620. fell down before the Lord, and said,

  621. "God,

  622. here I am.

  623. I don't know why you'd want me, God,

  624. but if you'll have me, I'm going give

  625. you me

  626. with no strings attached.

  627. I don't know what you think about that.

  628. Let me help you with that real quickly.

  629. Got to my message now. Introduction was

  630. as long as the message, so stick with

  631. me. That, my friend, would be the

  632. ultimate thing you could do.

  633. >> That would be the ultimate thing that

  634. you could give to the Lord. That would

  635. be the ultimate offering. You couldn't

  636. give God nothing greater than if you

  637. just couldn't give God yourself. Let me

  638. help you right here. A lot of people's

  639. got some confusion about a mission

  640. conference. They think it's all about

  641. money.

  642. >> Let me help you. God ain't interested in

  643. your money.

  644. I

  645. >> ain't after your money.

  646. >> These missionaries sure could use your

  647. money, but it ain't about the money. If

  648. God gets what he wants out of this

  649. meeting, when it's all said and done,

  650. guess what he gets? He gets you with no

  651. strings attached.

  652. >> I mean, if I I if God's will's done this

  653. week, oh, hang on. If God's will is done

  654. this week, he gets us with no strings

  655. attached.

  656. Amen.

  657. >> Have you ever done that?

  658. >> If you do that tonight, that would be

  659. the ultimate offering. There's no

  660. greater thing that you could do.

  661. >> Let me say this real quickly. If you

  662. would do that, number one, that would be

  663. an offering

  664. of life.

  665. >> Paul said Romans 12, y'all can quote it

  666. with me. I beseech you therefore,

  667. brethren, by the mercies of God, that

  668. you present your bodies living

  669. sacrifice,

  670. holy and acceptable unto God. Listen

  671. what he said. Which your reasonable

  672. service

  673. >> ain't asking too much.

  674. >> By the way, if you don't give him

  675. yourself, you cheating him

  676. >> cuz he done paid for it.

  677. >> He bought you with a price. And what a

  678. price he paid. Oh yes.

  679. >> And it's just nothing but reasonable

  680. you'd bring yourself lay up here on the

  681. altar and give it to God.

  682. >> Amen.

  683. >> If you do that, that'd be an offering of

  684. life. God, here's my life.

  685. >> It's yours. Several years ago, I say

  686. several. I don't think it's been that

  687. many years ago now. There was a church

  688. much like this one.

  689. Had an older lady that was one of the

  690. church members. and and and brother

  691. Charlie, everybody called her Granny.

  692. She had a name. I don't even know what

  693. her name was. The pastor, I'm not even

  694. sure he did, but most of the church

  695. members didn't even know what her name

  696. was. Everybody called her Granny.

  697. Granny.

  698. Granny was usually the life of the

  699. church. She was life of the church

  700. services. She'd come into church with a

  701. kick in her step and praise on her lips,

  702. ready to worship God. She loved the

  703. Lord.

  704. >> And it she's one of them church members.

  705. If granny's not going to be there today,

  706. probably ain't going to be much happen.

  707. >> I think I had one or two of them one

  708. time.

  709. >> She's special. Granny was a widow. Her

  710. husband been gone for quite a few years.

  711. And granny only had one boy. and her son

  712. was a missionary serving on a foreign

  713. field.

  714. Grew up in that church and a pastor

  715. pastor loved that boy about like his own

  716. and he'd watched him grow up and helped

  717. ordain him and they laid hands on him

  718. and sent him out of the church to be a

  719. missionary. One Sunday morning before

  720. the service started, they had doors kind

  721. of like y'all and his preacher's office

  722. was back behind the congregation.

  723. He was in his office getting ready for

  724. the church service to start and he

  725. grabbed his Bible and fixing to walk out

  726. of the office headed out to the

  727. sanctuary and just as he did and started

  728. to walk out, the church phone rang.

  729. He started to walk on past. I mean, it's

  730. church time on Sunday morning. Surely

  731. people know we fixing to have church.

  732. But for some reason or another, brother

  733. Charlie, he just reached over and picked

  734. up the phone and he said the church's

  735. name and on the other end was a missions

  736. director.

  737. He said, "Pastor, this is brother so and

  738. so." And he said, "I I'm sure sorry to

  739. bother you right now. I know church

  740. fixing to start." He said, "I really

  741. didn't think I'd get you, but I had to

  742. try."

  743. He said, "I got some bad news for you,

  744. preacher."

  745. He said, "One of your missionaries,

  746. one of your own

  747. was tragically killed this morning on

  748. the mission field."

  749. His granny's boy

  750. and it it broke the preacher. I mean, it

  751. it ripped his heart out.

  752. He got a few details and he hung up

  753. and he don't know what to do. By the

  754. time he hangs up, they done they done

  755. started the service. They've done got up

  756. and sung the opening hymn in in the

  757. sanctuary.

  758. He made his own way on out and came out

  759. on the platform up here and and he's

  760. tore up. He don't know. He don't know,

  761. brother Jonathan whether or not to go

  762. get Miss Granny, pull her out of the

  763. service. He don't know whether to wait

  764. till after church. He he don't have no

  765. idea what to do. His mind and his heart

  766. so broke.

  767. So he just comes and he he took a seat

  768. on the platform like he usually does and

  769. they sung the song and he's got tears

  770. swelling up in his eyes.

  771. People could tell they something wasn't

  772. right. I got through singing and he

  773. slowly made his way up to the pull pit

  774. and he just looked at his church

  775. trying to find some words trying to

  776. figure out what to do.

  777. So he said he just started over here on

  778. this side and he just started looking

  779. into the eyes

  780. of all these people.

  781. He done that until way around over here.

  782. Miss Granny always sat over here on the

  783. left side.

  784. And when his eyes met Granny's preacher

  785. broke. He just broke. He said, "Church,

  786. I got some devastating news."

  787. He said, "One of our missionaries,

  788. one of ours, tragically killed this

  789. morning on mission field." He looked at

  790. Granny and he said, "Granny, your boy

  791. died this morning."

  792. She kindly melted out of her pew into

  793. the floor. Some ladies got up and they

  794. head over there to try to help her and

  795. comfort her a little bit. That only

  796. lasted a moment, though. Granny got up

  797. on her feet. She looked toward the

  798. preacher and she said, "Preacher, can I

  799. say something?"

  800. He said, 'Yes, ma'am, Miss Granny. You

  801. can say whatever you want to.

  802. She said, "Preacher, I don't mean to go

  803. against what you said, but I just wanted

  804. you to know my boy didn't die this

  805. morning.

  806. My boy died up there on the altar before

  807. he ever went to the mission field. My

  808. boy just went home this morning."

  809. >> Can I ask you something? You don't have

  810. to be a missionary to die on an altar to

  811. yourself and get up and live for Jesus.

  812. That's for a child of God. Has there

  813. ever been a time when you died

  814. >> in an altar, but you got up and live for

  815. Jesus?

  816. >> IT'S A GIFT OF LIFE.

  817. >> YOU DIE TO YOURSELF, BUT THANK GOD YOU

  818. GET TO GET UP AND LIVE FOR HIM.

  819. >> AMEN.

  820. >> It's an offering of life. Let me say

  821. this. It's an offering of love.

  822. >> Sure.

  823. >> There's no greater way to say, "Lord, I

  824. love you."

  825. >> Yeah.

  826. than by what you give him.

  827. >> That's right.

  828. >> I want to ask you another question. You

  829. love the Lord.

  830. >> Do you really love the Lord?

  831. It's shown.

  832. Matter of fact, according to the

  833. scripture we read, it's proven

  834. by our giving

  835. whether or not we love him or how

  836. sincere we love him.

  837. [snorts]

  838. Let me clarify. Let me ask you this

  839. question. Does the Lord love you?

  840. Does he really love you?

  841. How you know that?

  842. Well, the Bible tells me so. It does.

  843. >> But he did more than tell us so.

  844. >> That's right.

  845. >> Let me give you a real simple one right

  846. here, y'all. Help me. John 3, I believe

  847. it's 16, ain't it? For God

  848. so loved the world,

  849. >> didn't just love us. There's another

  850. adjective.

  851. So loved us. What did he do? because he

  852. so loved us. He gave

  853. his only begotten son.

  854. >> Amen.

  855. >> Here, here's one. How about Romans 5'8?

  856. But God

  857. commendeth

  858. his love. That's a good word.

  859. >> Commendeth.

  860. I I used to think that it just meant

  861. that he proved. It means more than that.

  862. It literally means to put on display.

  863. >> But God

  864. displayed his love for us.

  865. >> Amen.

  866. >> In that while we were yet sinners,

  867. >> Christ died

  868. >> for us.

  869. >> Amen. Listen to me. You may question one

  870. time whether or not mama loves you.

  871. >> You may even wonder whether or not daddy

  872. loves you. may come to a place where it

  873. feels like your husband don't love you

  874. or your wife don't love you. May even

  875. feel like your kids don't love you. But

  876. there should never be a time where the

  877. thought crosses your mind whether or not

  878. he loves you. HE'S DONE PROVED IT. HE

  879. DISPLAYED IT ON CALVARY. HE'S GIVEN YOU

  880. EVERYTHING TO SHOW YOU THAT HE loves

  881. you.

  882. >> That's right.

  883. >> Yes.

  884. >> So, how do we show that we love him?

  885. by how and what we give.

  886. Let me I don't want to get rough here,

  887. but you tip God a few dollars.

  888. About all you're saying is, "Lord, I

  889. thank kindly of you."

  890. You're not willing to give him your

  891. life.

  892. Listen to me.

  893. You can give without loving.

  894. >> Amen. But you cannot love without

  895. giving.

  896. >> It's impossible.

  897. >> That's right.

  898. >> Give me two things. I'll find out what

  899. you really love.

  900. >> Your calendar and your checkbook.

  901. >> I'll find out.

  902. >> Amen. Can I make a confession? I can't

  903. get bogged down here. It's It's 8 after

  904. 8 now. I'm hurrying. Y'all don't believe

  905. me, but I am.

  906. >> I got 10 grandbabies.

  907. 10 of them.

  908. You hang around me a moment. I'll pull

  909. out a picture and I'll show them to you.

  910. I might even show you a video or two.

  911. >> Wait a minute. I can't get bogged down

  912. right here. I love them young so much.

  913. Golly bum. We got mas and papas in here.

  914. >> Y'all help me right here. All right. Am

  915. I on to something?

  916. >> I love them. They got me wrapped and

  917. they know it.

  918. >> Amen.

  919. >> All they got to do is come to papa

  920. >> when they want something.

  921. I ain't going to tell you the whole

  922. story. I'm talking about right at

  923. Christmas time. Three weeks before

  924. Christmas, papa, I want this. You know

  925. what papa does? Papa get it. My daughter

  926. saying, "Daddy, don't do that." Right

  927. now, Christmas, I don't care. I said,

  928. "Stay out of it.

  929. I can't help it.

  930. Why would you do something like it? Cuz

  931. I love him.

  932. >> Amen. Don't try to tell us you love the

  933. Lord. You don't want to give him

  934. nothing.

  935. >> Amen.

  936. >> If you really want to show him that you

  937. love him, give him yourself.

  938. >> Give him your life. Lock, stock, and

  939. barrel. The ultimate offering. I'm I'm

  940. I've got three more. I'm hurrying. If

  941. you do that, that'd be an unlimited

  942. offering.

  943. unlimited been a few years back now.

  944. Brother Steve Hensley, I don't know if

  945. any of you fellers knew brother Steve.

  946. Brother Steve Hinsley pastored in East

  947. Tennessee. I know brother Brian did and

  948. some of you. He pastorred in East

  949. Tennessee for several years. And then

  950. later on God called him out west and he

  951. went to Idaho take a work over out there

  952. that another missionary started and

  953. left. And brother Steve wanted me to

  954. come out and preach a mission conference

  955. for him and he got delayed. We end up

  956. out getting out there about the same

  957. time and uh the previous missionary that

  958. started the work had brought had bought

  959. the local Catholic church in town

  960. and uh

  961. he started it. I don't know who it was.

  962. I'm not I'm not saying anything. I don't

  963. know the situation. Ended up leaving and

  964. just a handful of people and a big

  965. mortgage and a Catholic building. Steve

  966. went out there, take it take it over. I

  967. get there and we the day we get there,

  968. he's showing me around. Took me inside

  969. the church building. Old Catholic

  970. church. Had had high ceilings, almost as

  971. high as y'alls, but had huge wood beams

  972. across the top. One of the prettiest

  973. buildings I think I've ever seen. Really

  974. was. I was bragging on how pretty the

  975. building was. He said, "Preacher, it's

  976. real pretty." He said, "You help us

  977. pray. We got a big mortgage."

  978. I said I said, "Brother, I will. I I'll

  979. sure help you." I'd done gotten back

  980. east and and a few days had went by and

  981. I got a message on my phone.

  982. It was a video message. Marco Polo. I

  983. don't know if y'all even know anything

  984. about that stuff. I don't know much, but

  985. it's a it's a video text message, I

  986. guess you'd say. I clicked on it. It's

  987. Brother Hensley, and he got something in

  988. his hand, and he's wiping tears. He sent

  989. the message out to a few of us and he

  990. said, 'Brethren, I just got to tell you

  991. what God did.

  992. He said, "Somebody walked in off the

  993. street." We don't even know who he is.

  994. Walked in off the street and gave us a

  995. check for $92,000.

  996. Enough to pay the mortgage off.

  997. >> He said, "I done been down the bank,

  998. make sure it's good." And it is.

  999. >> Amen.

1000. >> We rejoiced over that. Somebody said,

  1001. "Man, I wish somebody gave me a $92,000

  1002. check." I said, "Man, I wish I could

1003. write a $92,000 check." Amen. We We

1004. rejoiced and WE SHOUTED OVER WHAT AN

  1005. OFFERING.

  1006. >> But guess what?

  1007. It's gone.

1008. >> It's done. Young man, you come up here

  1009. and help me, me

1010. appreciate your help. What's your name?

  1011. >> Elijah.

1012. >> Elijah. Elijah. Fine looking young man.

  1013. How old are you?

  1014. >> Uh 12.

  1015. >> 12. Just right.

1016. Elijah, you got any money?

  1017. >> A little bit. You

1018. >> got a little bit of money?

  1019. >> Should I ask him how much? No, I won't.

  1020. I won't do that.

  1021. >> Got a job?

  1022. >> No job.

  1023. Got a vehicle?

1024. >> Got one picked out.

  1025. >> No,

1026. >> I don't know. Going to have to hurry up

  1027. that

1028. you know what Elijah could do? Elijah

1029. got a little bit of money. He could he

1030. could go and get that and and he could

1031. put it in a mission offering. Wouldn't

  1032. that be a blessing?

1033. 12 year old young man do something like

  1034. that. I I think that'd be honorable.

  1035. Don't you?

  1036. >> I'd probably make I'd probably make mom

1037. and dad proud or or somebody like that

1038. or I know it'd make his pastor proud.

1039. But I got a better idea. What What if

1040. Elijah just kept his money?

1041. But he walked up to an old altar

  1042. somewhere and

1043. crawled down an altar and said, "Lord,

  1044. it's Elijah.

  1045. You know, I'm just 12,

  1046. but God,

  1047. if you'd have me,

1048. I'd just like to give you me, my life.

  1049. I don't know what you'd do with it. I

1050. don't know why you'd want it, God, but

1051. Lord, it's yours if you want it.

  1052. We shout over a $92,000 check.

1053. Let me tell you what's a whole lot

  1054. better than a $92,000 check.

1055. >> 12 year 12y old young man giving his

  1056. life to God.

  1057. >> Amen.

  1058. >> $92,000 check gone. Can't do nothing

1059. else for God. What could God do with

1060. this young man if he gave his life to

  1061. God?

  1062. >> Oh yes.

  1063. >> Unlimited.

  1064. >> Yes.

  1065. >> Amen.

1066. >> No. Tell him what God Hey, don't you

  1067. downplay. He's just 12.

  1068. >> That's right. That's right.

  1069. >> Tell him.

1070. >> One of the greatest evangelists in the

  1071. United States today. I won't mention

1072. names, but he started when he's 10 years

  1073. old.

1074. >> Mom and daddy would drive him to

1075. meetings. He'd preach revival all over

1076. the South. Mom and daddy drive him. and

1077. he'd go out and play with the other kids

1078. when he got through preaching.

1079. Powerful preacher today. God's using

1080. that man all over the country. No

1081. telling what God would do.

1082. >> But this young man, if he gave him his

1083. life, thank you, Elijah. Some of you

1084. here say, "But preacher, I can

1085. understand how great it would be for a

1086. young man like that to give his life to

1087. God. But most of my life's gone.

  1088. Most of my life's behind me. I don't

1089. have a whole lot left. Let me help you

1090. right here. God could do more with

1091. what's left than you could ever dream of

1092. if you'd give it to him. Amen. No

1093. telling what God would do if you'd give

1094. it to him. Won't you Won't you try him

  1095. out and see?

  1096. Lord,

1097. it's all yours. Do with whatever you

1098. want. Some of you afraid to do that. You

1099. afraid. You afraid God going to send you

  1100. to Africa. Yeah.

  1101. >> Yeah.

1102. >> I don't know why we pick on Africa all

  1103. the time.

1104. >> I'm telling you, you'd be better off in

  1105. Africa

1106. >> in the will of God.

  1107. >> Yes.

1108. >> The ultimate, the unlimited. Two more

1109. real quickly. That'd be an unending

  1110. offering.

  1111. >> I know what you're thinking. Yeah,

1112. preacher, that means it just keeps on

1113. giving. Well, that's true, but that

  1114. ain't what I'm thinking. Here's what I'm

1115. thinking. If Elijah was to come to this

1116. altar tonight, I ain't trying to work

1117. that out. Don't believe that. I'm just

1118. telling you an example. If he came to

1119. this altar tonight and he gave his life

  1120. to God tonight,

1121. you know what he's going to have to do

  1122. tomorrow?

1123. >> He going to have to do it again.

1124. >> If you come tonight and you lay your

1125. life down and say, "God, it's all yours.

1126. You can have it." You know what you're

1127. going to have to do tomorrow?

1128. >> Going to have to do it again.

1129. >> What do you mean, preacher?

1130. If you offer God a living sacrifice,

1131. that's what it would be.

1132. A living sacrifice don't want to stay on

1133. the altar. It keeps crawling off.

1134. >> How you know, preacher,

  1135. I keep crawling off.

1136. So flesh don't want to stay there.

  1137. >> Paul said, I die daily.

1138. It's an offering you have to keep on

  1139. giving

  1140. over

1141. and over. I said some of you done that a

1142. while before, but it's been a long time

  1143. since you've done that.

1144. Probably about time you do it again.

1145. Unending. Got one more. It's only I

1146. think we're doing okay. About about 17

  1147. after y'all. All right.

1148. One more. You'll like this one. Okay,

1149. most of you going to really like this

  1150. one.

  1151. It's the ultimate.

  1152. It's the unlimited. It's unending,

1153. but it's also an unrequired offering.

  1154. You don't have to.

  1155. Somebody said,

1156. "What do you mean by unrequired

1157. offering?" Listen to me carefully. I

1158. asked you earlier if you'd ever done

  1159. that. And I I said I wasn't asking you

1160. if you'd ever been saved. Listen to me

  1161. carefully.

1162. You have to get saved.

  1163. >> Y'all with me?

  1164. >> You want heaven?

1165. >> You want eternity with Jesus. You want

  1166. to miss hell.

1167. >> You have to get saved.

1168. >> When you get saved, that does not mean

1169. you gave God your life. Here's a famous

1170. phrase in the South, Brother Charlie. We

1171. say when we got saved, we gave Jesus our

1172. heart. You ever heard that one?

  1173. >> I'm not I'm not complaining about that.

1174. If you want to use that phrase and help

1175. yourself, but I tell you what you really

1176. gave Jesus when you got saved.

1177. >> What What did you have to give him? I

1178. mean, I'll just tell you what I gave

1179. him, brother Michael. I gave him my sin,

  1180. >> right?

  1181. >> That's really all I had.

1182. >> I had a bunch of it, too. Yeah.

1183. >> And bless the Lord, when I gave it to

  1184. him, he took it.

  1185. >> Every

1186. >> something ran up my back. He took every

  1187. single one of them.

1188. >> Past, present, and future.

1189. >> Amen. Listen to me. If he'd left me with

1190. one, I'd be in trouble tonight.

1191. >> But bless the Lord, NOT IN PART, BUT THE

1192. WHOLE. HE TOOK THEM ALL. THANK GOD.

  1193. >> ALL OF THEM.

  1194. >> That's all I had to give him. That's

1195. >> all I had to give him.

  1196. >> Amen.

  1197. >> I'm saved.

  1198. [laughter]

  1199. >> I'm going to heaven.

1200. >> If you gave me sin,

  1201. >> That's right.

1202. >> You get to go to

1203. >> Amen. Just because you gave him sin

1204. don't mean you gave him me life.

1205. >> I was doing a study on all them Old

  1206. Testament offerings. There's a bunch of

1207. them. I ain't got time to get into all

1208. that. You got the trespass offerings and

1209. you so many of them. Most of those

1210. offerings I found something in common.

1211. That which was being offered

  1212. had to be perfect

  1213. without spot

1214. without blemish. That sin offering had

1215. to be without spot without blemish.

1216. That's why it's so important that Jesus

  1217. was sinless, [snorts]

  1218. >> spotless,

1219. >> he's the only one that qualified

1220. >> to give an offering like that.

  1221. >> Amen.

1222. >> If you and I had to give an offering

  1223. like that,

  1224. I think we'd be in trouble, wouldn't we?

1225. >> But I kept on studying and reading and I

1226. found I found an offering that became

1227. real interesting to me. There was an

1228. offering that would be accepted

1229. even if it wasn't perfect.

1230. It It could have it could have some

1231. issues. Here's one of the Bible words

  1232. that it used. Superfluous.

1233. This offering could be superfluous. You

1234. know what that mean? I had to look it

  1235. up. Leaking fluid,

  1236. scratched or cut.

1237. There was an offering that didn't have

1238. to be perfect that God would accept. You

  1239. know what it's called? It's called a

  1240. free will offering.

1241. >> You don't have to give it.

1242. And if you do give it, it don't have to

1243. be perfect. Oh my word.

1244. Listen to me. If you bring yourself up

1245. here and put it on the altar and give

1246. your life to God, you know what that'd

1247. be? That'd be a free will offering.

  1248. >> Amen.

1249. It's one of them offerings it's just

  1250. because you want to.

  1251. >> Yeah, that's right.

1252. >> Amen. It's one of them offerings you

1253. just say, "Lord, I love you so much.

1254. >> Lord, you've been so good to me.

1255. >> HOW CAN I NOT GIVE YOU EVERYTHING?"

1256. >> And you just bring yourself up here and

1257. you put it on and say, "God, here it

  1258. is."

  1259. >> Amen.

1260. >> I don't know what in the world you can

1261. do with it. I've tried for a long time

1262. to do something with it and I ain't done

1263. nothing but make a mess of it.

1264. Lord, if you can take it and you can do

1265. something with it, here it is. It's

  1266. yours.

1267. You know what I've seen God do? I've

1268. seen him take a mess like that and make

1269. a miracle out of it.

1270. >> I've seen people bring him a mess and he

1271. turns it into a ministry.

  1272. >> What about that?

  1273. Hey, I'm telling you, I can't I can't

1274. get over what God and this is just

  1275. please, I I don't even want to I can't

1276. get over what God's done with my life

1277. since I gave it to him.

  1278. >> I mean, [laughter]

1279. he took me places I never dreamed I'd

1280. get to go. He's let me see things and do

1281. things I only dreamed of getting to do.

  1282. Yeah,

1283. >> my little mama before she went to

1284. heaven. It wasn't too many months ago.

1285. She she died in May, but I was talking

1286. to her just a few months before she

1287. died. I was down in Florida doing a

1288. mission conference and I talked to her

1289. and her mind gotten real bad. And she

1290. said, "Where are you at?" I said, "I'm

1291. down here in South Florida, mama." She

1292. said, "What are you doing?" I said, "I'm

1293. preaching a mission conference." She

1294. said, "How in the world somebody like

  1295. you get down yonder?"

1296. I've been asking myself the same thing.

1297. How in the world somebody like me, oh,

  1298. I I'm amazed.

1299. GOD CAN DO MORE than you ever dreamed of

1300. if you'd let him have a shot at it.

1301. >> The first thing those Macedonians did,

1302. >> they gave gave God their life.

  1303. >> They gave themselves.

1304. Go back with me real quickly to Job. Let

1305. me remind you about Job just a moment

1306. and I'm done. Job was what the Holy

1307. Ghost said under the inspiration.

1308. He was a perfect and upright man. One

1309. that feared God to shoot evil. Y'all

  1310. remember that?

1311. >> We read about him in chapter one. Man,

1312. he was so blessed. It starts listing all

1313. them things and all the livestock that

1314. he had and God been real good to him.

1315. And Job, we're told in chapter one that

1316. he would rise up early.

1317. Said this did Job continually. So I

1318. guess he'd do that about every day. He'd

1319. get up early every morning and he'd go

  1320. out and offer sacrifices

  1321. unto the Lord,

1322. a worn out trail to an altar where he'd

1323. offer them sacrifices. Thus did Job

1324. continually. See, he'd offer them

1325. sacrifices even for his children.

1326. And then it came to pass that Satan came

1327. before the Lord. Y'all remember it,

1328. don't you? Hast thou considered my

1329. servant Job. Obviously, Satan had said,

1330. "You got a hedge up about him. I can't

1331. get over it. I can't get under it. I

1332. can't get around it. You lower that

1333. hedge. Let me add him."

1334. Man, it happened, didn't it?

1335. Just a few verses, Job loses everything,

  1336. including 10 children. 10 of them.

1337. Everything's gone. Then on top of that,

1338. he smoked from the top of his head to

1339. the bottom of his feet with sore balls.

  1340. And we find Job

  1341. sitting in the ashes

  1342. with a potshur. That's a broken piece of

1343. pottery. He's scraping himself with all.

  1344. I asked myself a question. I said,

1345. "What's Job doing in them ashes?

1346. What ash is Job in? Tell

1347. >> some might think, well, it's probably

1348. the ashes from the destruction of him.

1349. No, no, no, no. Here's what I'm

1350. thinking. I think that next morning

  1351. after he lost everything.

1352. I think he got up like he did the

1353. morning before when he had everything.

  1354. >> Sure.

1355. >> I think he walked the same worn out

1356. trail back to an altar.

1357. >> Yes, sir. Only problem is this time he

1358. don't have a lamb to put on that altar.

  1359. >> He don't have a goat. He don't have a

1360. turtle dove to put on that altar. You

1361. know what I think he put on that altar?

1362. I think he put himself on there. Said,

1363. "God, I ain't got nothing left to give

  1364. you but me."

1365. >> That's what God wanted all the time.

  1366. >> That's all God's really want from you.

  1367. >> He's after you. He wants Oh, that's

1368. shout ground right there. What in the

1369. world God want with you?

  1370. >> Who are you

  1371. >> that he'd be interested in?

1372. >> 8 billion plus people. Why would he be

  1373. interested in me?

1374. >> Wow. He knows us.

  1375. >> Wow.

1376. >> Heads are bowed, eyes are closed.

  1377. The offering of self,

1378. the mission conference. We talk about

1379. giving. We talk about going.

1380. The first thing those Macedonians did,

  1381. they gave God themselves.

1382. I wonder tonight, let me ask this

1383. quickly. Maybe there's one here tonight

  1384. and you've never been saved. You've

1385. never given God your sin.

1386. You want to go to heaven.

1387. You you you want to miss hell, you

1388. better get saved. Better put your faith

1389. and trust in try Christ and give him

  1390. your sin.

1391. You don't want to face God with him

  1392. yourself.

1393. I wonder if they'd be one to say,

1394. "Preacher, won't you please pray for me?

1395. I've never been saved. I need your

1396. prayers. Would you let me pray for you?

1397. Just slip the hand up real quickly. Let

1398. me see that. You can put it right back

  1399. down. Anybody? I'm looking. I'm looking.

1400. Anybody? Preacher, please pray for me. I

  1401. ain't never been saved.

1402. Please pray for me. Anybody right quick

1403. or if they'd be one say, "Preacher,

1404. won't you pray for me? I've been saved.

1405. I give God all my sin,

1406. but preacher, I ain't never give God my

  1407. life."

1408. Holy Ghost spoke to my heart tonight.

1409. Preacher, would you please pray for me?

1410. Or if they'd be one, just one somewhere.

1411. Preacher, please pray for me. Never have

1412. given God my life. Never have took my

1413. hands off of it. Never have let it go.

1414. Never have give it to him. Would there

  1415. be one?

  1416. I'm looking.

1417. Let me ask this. I'm done asking

1418. question. I see that hand. God bless

1419. you. Let me ask this. How many of you

1420. say, "Preacher, I've done that before.

  1421. It's been a while.

  1422. It's been a while, preacher.

1423. I need to probably do that again.

1424. I stand. Somebody's coming to the piano.

  1425. Altar's open. [music]

1426. An altar. What about that? An altar.

1427. What happens on an altar? It's where you

  1428. lay down the offering.

  1429. [music]

  1430. That's where that that's being offered

  1431. dies.

  1432. It's [music] consumed.

1433. That's what happens on an altar.

1434. [music] How long's it been?

1435. How long's it been? God's interest in

1436. you. [music] God wants you.

1437. Oh, I say, bless the Lord. Isn't it

1438. amazing? [music] God wants us.

1439. God's really interested in us.

  1440. Wow.

1441. Next best thing after getting saved I

1442. [music] ever did, I gave my life to the

  1443. Lord.

  1444. I tell you where I was.

1445. I was in an [music]

  1446. army tent

1447. in the middle of Saudi Arabia in the

  1448. desert.

1449. I got down beside an old cot

1450. in that sand. [music] I said, "God, I

1451. don't know why you'd be interested me."

1452. God, here I am. Feel [music] happy.

  1453. He took it.

  1454. My my

1455. best thing I ever [music] did outside of

  1456. getting saved.

  1457. The offering of self.

1458. Give it to [music] him. Give him all of

1459. it. Take your hands off of it. Let him

  1460. have it.

1461. See what he does [music] with it.

1462. See what he does with it.

1463. You're doing it [music] tonight.

1464. Probably going to have to do it again

  1465. tomorrow.

  1466. I hope that don't discourage [music]

1467. you. I know flesh just don't want to

  1468. die.
