  6. with your friends. Now, let's join

  7. Pastor Charlie Branch with a word from

  8. God.

  9. >> Amen. I appreciate the good singing this

  10. morning. And uh I tell you what, we

  11. think sometimes that the fact of that

  12. song, we think that's impossible.

  13. The truth is it's not impossible.

  14. >> Amen. You know what Paul told young

  15. Timothy? He knew that Neero's chopping

  16. block was very soon. He said, "I've

  17. fought a good fight. I have finished my

  18. course. I've kept the faith." He said,

  19. "Henceforth there's laid up for me a

  20. crown of righteousness, which the Lord

  21. shall give me at that day, not to me

  22. only, but to all them also that love his

  23. appearing." Amen. I'll tell you this,

  24. there's only one thing that'll motivate

  25. you to serve Jesus, and that's the fact

  26. that he's coming back.

  27. >> Amen.

  28. >> And I appreciate his grace and goodness

  29. to us. Matthew's Gospel, chapter 12. You

  30. find your place if you would stand in

  31. honor reverence to the reading of God's

  32. word. Matthew's Gospel, chapter number

  33. 12.

  34. want to say again, I do appreciate you

  35. being in the house of the Lord. I don't

  36. just say that. That's not a filler word.

  37. I mean it. All right. I appreciate you

  38. being here. And uh I've preached to

  39. empty pews before. There's may have been

  40. a day. There may have been a day when a

  41. preacher could say, "I've never preached

  42. to an empty pew." But when COVID came,

  43. everybody could say we preached to an

  44. empty pew. And uh I want to say this,

  45. you being here is a blessing. Amen. And

  46. it is not overlooked. Matthew's Gospel

  47. chapter number 12. And I'll say this, if

  48. you're here today and you are not saved,

  49. that's the need of this hour. Uh, that

  50. you be saved. That's the greatest

  51. purpose of the service today. We're

  52. asking that the Lord would help us in

  53. that direction. Matthew's Gospel chapter

  54. 12. Let's begin reading in verse number

  55. 39. Verse 38 rather, verse number 38 of

  56. Matthew chapter number 12.

  57. The Bible says, "Then certain of the

  58. scribes and of the Pharisees answered,

  59. saying, Master, we would see a sign from

  60. thee." But he answered and said unto

  61. them, "An evil and adulterous generation

  62. seeketh after a sign. There shall no

  63. sign be given to it, but the sign of the

  64. prophet Jonas. For as Jonas was three

  65. days and three nights in the whale's

  66. belly, so shall the Son of man be three

  67. days and three nights in the heart of

  68. the earth. The men of Nineveh shall rise

  69. in judgment with this generation, shall

  70. condemn it, because they repented at the

  71. preaching of Jonas. Behold, a greater

  72. than Jonas is here. The queen of the

  73. south shall rise up in the judgment with

  74. this generation, and shall condemn it,

  75. for she came from the uttermost parts of

  76. the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon.

  77. Behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

  78. Notice verses 43 through verse number

  79. 45. It'll be our key text for the

  80. message this morning. The Bible says,

  81. "When the unclean spirit is gone out of

  82. a man, he walketh through dry places,

  83. seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he

  84. saith, I will return into my house from

  85. whence I came out. And when he has come,

  86. he findeth it empty, swept, and

  87. garnished. Then goeth he taketh with

  88. himself seven other spirits more wicked

  89. than himself, and they enter in and

  90. dwell there. And the last state of that

  91. man is worse than the first. And Jesus

  92. says these cold and hard words to those

  93. Pharisees,

  94. even so shall it be also unto this

  95. wicked generation. Now, Father, I ask

  96. this morning humbly for a moment of time

  97. that you would help us. God, we realize

  98. that we stand in a place this morning

  99. where we cannot we cannot afford to

  100. stand alone. Lord, the purpose of this

  101. hour and the plan that you have, God, is

  102. too great for flesh to try to carry it

  103. out. And so, Lord, I ask you, God, to

  104. remove the flesh far from me. I pray

  105. that you would clothe me in my calling.

  106. Lord, sincerely, I ask this morning to

  107. fill me with the spirit of God and rid

  108. me of all sin and self. I pray God for

  109. every person that's under the sound of

  110. my voice Lord in this congregation or by

  111. way of internet in days to come. I pray

  112. God that they would hear and heed the

  113. word of God this morning as it is

  114. shared. I pray father it'll find a

  115. lodging place in our hearts that we

  116. would be challenged and not just

  117. challenged but changed by the word of

  118. God. I ask you God today for whatever

  119. needs are present Lord. God I pray that

  120. your will would be done in every

  121. situation, every heart in life. I pray

  122. for that one that's here today and lost.

  123. God, I ask you, God, that you would

  124. please put them under old time Holy

  125. Ghost conviction even as I speak right

  126. now. And Lord, I pray today they'd be

  127. saved by the grace of God. And Lord,

  128. we'll be sure to give you thanks because

  129. Lord, you're the only one worthy of it.

  130. And we ask it in Jesus name. God's

  131. children said

  132. >> you can be seated. Thank you for

  133. standing this morning. Matthew's Gospel

  134. chapter number 12. I love this chapter

  135. of the word of God. This is a parallel

  136. chapter with the Gospel of Luke. Uh

  137. chapter number 11, I believe it is. And

  138. I was reading this ch this text

  139. preparing for this sermon this morning.

  140. And I want to lay a few things on your

  141. heart that jump out to me in this

  142. chapter by way of introduction. Now,

  143. what you're going to find here in this

  144. text, this entire chapter, it is the

  145. goal of Christ expressed in this chapter

  146. to make clear lines of distinction

  147. between his righteousness and the

  148. righteousness of the Pharisees. And

  149. there's two expressions that I find in

  150. this chapter that declare that

  151. distinction. Now I think about what

  152. Christ said in one place when he said

  153. except your righteousness exceed the

  154. righteousness of the scribes and

  155. Pharisees, you shall in no wise enter

  156. into the kingdom. So we know that God

  157. Christ has already declared the

  158. distinction. But he's going to state

  159. some things in this chapter that further

  160. broaden the gap. Now, we know this

  161. morning that the gap between Jesus and

  162. between the Pharisees was as wide and as

  163. far as any gap has ever been. You say,

  164. "What do you mean?" Well, I'm saying it

  165. was the gap between the sinner and the

  166. savior.

  167. >> Amen. And as lost as they were and as

  168. great as he was, Jesus is going to

  169. declare to them the distinction. Now, I

  170. want to say this. Before any sinner ever

  171. gets saved, they first have to realize

  172. that they are what? a sin. Amen. That

  173. they are lost and hopeless without God.

  174. And Jesus is declaring to them their

  175. sinfulness. Notice two things by way of

  176. introduction. Number one, in this

  177. chapter, I see the greatness of Christ

  178. is declared or manifested by him in this

  179. chapter. And you say, "What do you

  180. mean?" Well, three expressions involve

  181. the word great in this chapter. Notice

  182. with me in verse number six of the text,

  183. Matthew chapter 12, Jesus literally

    Matthew 12 chapter mention

  184. says, "But I say unto you that in this

  185. place is one greater than the temple."

  186. The Pharisees in their realm of life,

  187. there was no greater building that it

  188. ever existed to the Pharisees, to the

  189. Jews, than the temple. But Jesus looks

  190. them in the eyes and says, "I'm telling

  191. you, there's one standing here that's

  192. greater than this building." Amen.

  193. >> Amen. And so we see not only here the

  194. temple that's mentioned, but you notice

  195. in verse number 41 that there is a man

  196. is mentioned in verse 41. The Bible

  197. says, "The men of Nineveh shall rise in

  198. judgment with this generation and shall

  199. condemn it because they repented at the

  200. preaching of Jonas." Now this is the

  201. prophet Jonah of your Old Testament. But

  202. listen to what Jesus says in verse

  203. number 41. And behold, what's it say,

  204. church? A greater than Jonas is here.

  205. You say, "PREACHER, WHAT DOES THAT

  206. MEAN?" WELL, as the temple was the

  207. greatest building to the Jews, when we

  208. think about Jonah, you say, "Preacher,

  209. WHAT WAS GREAT ABOUT JONAH? WHAT WAS so

  210. wonderful about Jonah's ministry?" Well,

  211. the greatest revival that takes place on

  212. the pages of the word of God are really

  213. in history happens under the ministry of

  214. the prophet John. You say, "How is

  215. that?" Well, you turn there and look,

  216. some 150,000 people are saved through

  217. the preaching of one man in one time in

  218. that town. Jesus says, "Behold, a

  219. greater than Jonas is here." So, there

  220. is the greater than the temple. There is

  221. the greater than Jonah. Notice verse 42

  222. of our text. The Bible says, "The queen

  223. of the south shall rise up in the

  224. judgment with this generation and shall

  225. condemn it. for she came from the

  226. uttermost parts of the earth to hear the

  227. wisdom of Solomon. And again, Jesus

  228. says, "Behold, a greater than Solomon is

  229. here." Now, it's not hard for us to

  230. understand the expression of Solomon in

  231. this text that Solomon had the greatest

  232. wisdom of any man that's ever lived. He

  233. had the greatest wealth of any man

  234. that's ever lived. But Jesus could say,

  235. "And he did not tell a lie." Amen.

  236. Aren't you thankful that Jesus when he

  237. spoke it was truth? Amen. Jesus was

  238. greater than the temple. Amen. That

  239. temple was made with hands. But Jesus

  240. was the stone huned out of the mountain.

  241. Amen. Tumbling down into this world to

  242. destroy the kingdoms and the temple of

  243. men. Jesus said it this way. He said,

  244. "You destroy this temple and in three

  245. days I'll raise it up again." Amen. He

  246. was greater than the temple. But I want

  247. to say this. He was greater than Jonah.

  248. You say, "How is it, preacher?" Well,

  249. Jonah preached and 150,000 got saved. I

  250. want to say this. Jesus preached and

  251. souls are still being saved to this day.

  252. Let me put it this way. Rather, Jesus is

  253. preaching and every soul that's gotten

  254. saved throughout time, past, present, or

  255. future, is saved because of Jesus

  256. gospel. Amen. And so Jesus is greater

  257. than Jonah. But let me say this to you

  258. this morning. Jesus is far greater than

  259. Solomon. Though the wisdom that he had

  260. gathered, though the wisdom he WAS

  261. GIFTED WITH BY GOD, Jesus far greater

  262. possessed the wisdom of all of heaven.

  263. All that the father hath, Jesus had it

  264. at his possession. Solomon might have

  265. owned the cattle on a hundred hills in

  266. Jerusalem, but Jesus, he owns the cattle

  267. of a thousand hills. Amen. Of all the

  268. world, all the souls of men belong to

  269. him. And I want to say this to you this

  270. morning. Jesus unequivocally is greater

  271. than all. Amen. There's none greater

  272. than he is. And so Jesus here is

  273. declaring these lines of distinction. So

  274. we see the greatness of Christ in verses

  275. 641 and 42 this chapter. I'm going

  276. somewhere. Stay with me. But we notice

  277. second of all the generation in this

  278. chapter is characterized. You say, "What

  279. do you mean?" Well, you'll find the term

  280. generation in this chapter used no less

  281. than six times in this chapter. Notice

  282. verse 34. What's your Bible say in

  283. Matthew 12:34?

    Matthew 12:34

  284. Jesus says, "Oh generation of vipers,

  285. how can ye being evil speak good things?

  286. For out of ab out of the abundance of

  287. the heart, the mouth speaketh." Notice

  288. verse number 39. But he answered and

  289. said unto them, "An evil and adulterous

  290. generation

  291. seeketh after a sign." And in verse

  292. number 41, the men of Nineveh shall rise

  293. in judgment with this what generation.

  294. Verse 42, the queen of the south shall

  295. rise up in the judgment with this

  296. generation. And you see it again in

  297. verse 45 when Jesus says, even so shall

  298. it be also unto this wicked

  299. generation.

  300. >> We say the lines of distinction are

  301. pretty clearly drawn.

  302. >> I want to say this. the world that says

  303. Jesus was not confrontational, that

  304. Jesus was not divisive, and Jesus was

  305. not offensive. Don't know the Jesus of

  306. the Bible.

  307. >> Jesus looked eye to eye and stood toeto

  308. toe with the PHARISEES AND TOLD THEM

  309. JUST LIKE IT WAS. And it's high time

  310. some men start doing the same thing.

  311. >> Amen.

  312. >> And so we notice in this text, the

  313. distinction is clearly drawn by Christ

  314. in these statements. And I want to say

  315. this, the Pharisees have tried to

  316. discredit him. You say, "What do you

  317. mean?" Well, notice verse two in the

  318. chapter. The disciples here in the text,

  319. they had were hungry and on the Sabbath

  320. day they began to pluck ears of corn and

  321. to eat. In verse two, the Pharisees saw

  322. it. They said unto him, "Behold, thy

  323. disciples do that which is not lawful to

  324. do upon the Sabbath day." And so they

  325. try to discredit the work of Christ

  326. because of what his disciples were

  327. doing. And let me say this, just put

  328. this out there. If g if Jesus is going

  329. to be discredited in this day and time,

  330. it's because of what we're doing and

  331. what we're not doing.

  332. >> That's right.

  333. >> You hearing me? Amen. I'm saying,

  334. friend, the world discredits him because

  335. of how the church represents him. Amen.

  336. That's another message for another time.

  337. But the Pharisees have tried to

  338. discredit him. Certainly, they have

  339. disrespected him. In verse 24, when

  340. Jesus here in the text deals with a man

  341. want possessed with a devil, in verse

  342. 22, blind and dumb. Verse number 24, the

  343. Pharisees heard it. They said, "This

  344. fellow does not cast out devils, but by

  345. be elabub, the prince of the devils." So

  346. they've discredited his ministry. But I

  347. want to say they have disrespected his

  348. majesty. You say, "What do you mean?"

  349. Well, I'm saying, friend, they've called

  350. him out and called him literally a devil

  351. or a son of the devil himself.

  352. Then Jesus deals with the sin of

  353. blasphemy the Holy Ghost. Later on in

  354. this text, this nation committed that in

  355. Acts chapter 7. He'd warned them, but

    Acts 7 chapter mention

  356. yet they still, even though they

  357. discredited him and disrespected him,

  358. that was not the greatest thing. You see

  359. that thief on the cross, he discredited

  360. Jesus and disrespected him. But you know

  361. what? After all of that, he recognized

  362. that he really was the Messiah. You know

  363. what the problem with the Pharisees was?

  364. Not so much that they discredited him

  365. and disrespected him, but the greatest

  366. trouble with the Pharisees is that they

  367. would disregard him for the rest of his

  368. life. You say, "How is that, preacher?"

  369. Well, notice it again in verse number

  370. 38. Then certain of the scribes and of

  371. the Pharisees answered, saying, "Master,

  372. we would see a sign from thee." Jesus

  373. has given them sign after sign

  374. >> after sign after sign. And yet they

  375. would stand in his face and said,

  376. "Master, we need to see you actually do

  377. something that's real." You know what?

  378. There's a lot of people looking in the

  379. face of the church this day and time and

  380. they're saying, "Won't you show us

  381. something that's real?" And the fact

  382. that we're here, the fact that the

  383. church is still alive,

  384. >> the gospel is still being preached, it's

  385. a miracle that we're still here.

  386. We've given them sign after sign after

  387. sign. Hey friend, this book still is

  388. still alive and well.

  389. >> And it still works.

  390. >> It's still doing the same thing it did

  391. when they finished praying.

  392. >> They don't need a sign. They need

  393. salvation.

  394. >> Notice this in the text. Jesus after

  395. they have tried to discredit him and

  396. they've disrespected him in this chapter

  397. and ultimately they are completely

  398. disregarding his person the fact that he

  399. is very God in human flesh. Thus Jesus

  400. will describe their demise in verses 43

  401. through verse number 45. And I want to

  402. preach on this thought for just a little

  403. while if the Lord help me this morning.

  404. I want to preach on the demon's dwelling

  405. place. The demon's dwelling place. Jesus

  406. in verse number 43 begins this little

  407. short parable here describing what is

  408. said to be in your King James Bible as

  409. an unclean spirit. Notice see it in

  410. verse 43. When the unclean spirit is

  411. gone out of the man, he walketh through

  412. dry places seeking rest and findeth

  413. none. So what Jesus is describing here

  414. is a personal instance illustrating a

  415. national condition. You say, how is

  416. that? Well, he is talking about a man

  417. personally. Notice at verse 43, when the

  418. unclean spirit has gone out of a what? A

  419. man. But look how he describes it in the

  420. end of verse 45. Even so shall it be

  421. also unto this wicked generation. So he

  422. is using an instance of personal demon

  423. possession to describe the state of the

  424. nation of Israel. So here's what we're

  425. going to do this morning. We're going to

  426. express to you the state of the

  427. Pharisees in this text just as Jesus

  428. did. But you know what? That does not

  429. make any less true the personal

  430. illustration.

  431. Say, "What do you mean? Demon possession

  432. is a real thing."

  433. >> Amen.

  434. >> It is.

  435. >> And lost people, most of them, if not

  436. all of them at some point,

  437. >> yeah,

  438. >> have this problem.

  439. >> That's right. Amen. Amen.

  440. >> Now, some would sweat at that statement,

  441. but I don't sweat. I don't bat an eye at

  442. it because I know what kind of world

  443. we're living in. And you know how

  444. they're getting into a lot of you.

  445. >> Amen.

  446. >> You know how they're oppressing those of

  447. you that save?

  448. >> Go ahead. Amen.

  449. >> Right.

  450. >> AND IN THIS TEXT, JESUS DEALS with

  451. >> Jesus deals with demons on several

  452. occasions. Well, in this very chapter,

  453. he cast out a man who is blind and dumb

  454. because of a demon that's in him. He

  455. deals with that gadinian maniac in the

  456. Gospel of Luke, chapter number eight.

  457. And what about him? He had a legion of

  458. devils in him. And when they left the

  459. man, he was crying and cutting himself

  460. with stones. And wonder he was even

  461. alive from the influence of demons on

  462. his life. But out of that they were

  463. cast. And into that herd of swine they

  464. went because man will tolerate more

  465. demons than any other creature in this

  466. world will. And so when that legion that

  467. was in one man went into that herd of

  468. swine, the swine wouldn't even tolerate

  469. them. They run down into the lake and

  470. drown themselves

  471. >> because man will tolerate more demonic

  472. influence than any other being that

  473. exists.

  474. >> And God Jesus in this text, he gives

  475. this illustration. So this personal

  476. illustration is still relevant to us of

  477. this unclean spirit that's in this man.

  478. It's obviously seen in the text that the

  479. demon has departed his host. Verse 43,

  480. when an unclean spirit is gone out of a

  481. man. Now, the verbiage in the text

  482. implies that this man has not had this

  483. demon expelled from him as a work of of

  484. God in his life. But this demon by his

  485. own will has chosen to depart this man.

  486. Now, they have that they have a will

  487. just like go all of God's creatures do

  488. and and man and then you think about the

  489. angels that fail. They have a will. And

  490. so, he willfully by his own valition

  491. here chooses to depart this man. And the

  492. Bible says in the text, he is he is

  493. departing because he is seeking for

  494. other rest. Notice it in the text, he

  495. walketh through dry places seeking rest

  496. and findeth none. What's interesting to

  497. me about that is that this demon has not

  498. been expelled, but by his own choice, he

  499. is searching for other excitement. You

  500. say, "What do you mean excitement?"

  501. Well, if you look up that word rest, the

  502. word rest is used two times in your King

  503. James Bible, and it literally translates

  504. to the word recreation.

  505. You say, "What do you mean?" Well, the

  506. demons of hell, you know what they want

  507. to do? They want to make sport of you.

  508. >> And you know what a demon does? Who

  509. whatever its host is, they make sport of

  510. that thing.

  511. >> They are there. Their their enjoyment is

  512. your destruction.

  513. >> Amen.

  514. >> And demons comes in a lot of shape,

  515. forms, and fashions, but we'll get to

  516. that in just a minute. And so, this word

  517. rest translates to recreation. He is

  518. searching for another host. And these

  519. dry places, it's mentioned in verse 43,

  520. imply that there is no host to be found.

  521. Now, I I found this interesting.

  522. Jeremiah 2 and verse 6 says this,

  523. "Neither said they, where is the Lord

  524. that brought us up out of the land of

  525. Egypt, that led us through the

  526. wilderness, through a land of deserts

  527. and a pits, through a land of drought

  528. and of the shadow of death." Notice

  529. this. Through a land that no man passed

  530. through and where no man dwelt. These

  531. dry places are not talking about water.

  532. these dry places are talking about where

  533. there's no men.

  534. This demon exits this man because what

  535. does a demon do? He gets inside a person

  536. and what does he do? He isolates them.

  537. And so when this demon leaves this host,

  538. he walks through dry places and he finds

  539. nowhere else to go.

  540. I would hate to know that my body would

  541. be a place the only place a demon could

  542. end up. Let me say this. All right, this

  543. demon is going to find some place where

  544. he can rest. All right, I know y'all

  545. tuning me out on this, but you need to

  546. stay with me because I'm going

  547. somewhere. All right, he's going to find

  548. some place where he can rest. I want to

  549. say this. YOU SAY, "PREACHER, HOW DOES

  550. THAT translate to my life?" Well, we got

  551. to understand there's a man here. Verse

  552. 43, the man's still there. Notice it

  553. again. When the unclean spirit has gone

  554. out of a man. So, there is a man that is

  555. left behind in THIS TEXT. NOW, WHAT DOES

  556. a demon do? It causes a man to do things

  557. that normally he otherwise would not do.

  558. >> Amen.

  559. >> Amen. And I thought about this. A man

  560. who is known for being bent towards

  561. wickedness often will go through periods

  562. where he doesn't have the same veracity

  563. for his sin of choice. You say, "What do

  564. you mean?" Well, I I put this

  565. illustration in my in my notes here. A

  566. drunk's not drunk all the time.

  567. >> Sometimes a drunk will go through a

  568. period of sobriety.

  569. But I thought about this. You know what

  570. happens is many times, let me say this,

  571. alcoholism is a demon.

  572. >> Amen. It ain't a disease. God help you.

  573. >> Amen. It's not a disease. You chose to

  574. do it.

  575. >> Amen.

  576. >> Amen, friend. It ain't a disease. It's a

  577. demon. Amen. And what that's there's a

  578. reason why they call it spirits.

  579. >> All right. I ain't got time to preach

  580. all that, but what I'm saying this

  581. morning is this. Just because a drunk

  582. gets sober for a little while, that

  583. don't make him any less a drunk.

  584. Amen.

  585. This does not mean that that drunk has

  586. gotten right or straightened out. A

  587. drunk will have times where he is sober,

  588. but like this story, that doesn't last

  589. too long, more often than not. You say,

  590. "What do you mean?" Well, this man's

  591. demon has exited him for a time. But

  592. what do we find in verse number 44? This

  593. demon's departure is followed by the

  594. demon's dwelling. You say, "What do you

  595. mean?" Well, notice the text. Then he

  596. saith, "I will return into what's that

  597. demon say? my house,

  598. the demon's dwelling. It's the title of

  599. the message, demon's dwelling place.

  600. He's already laid claim to it. He

  601. describes it as his house. You know

  602. what? That's what the devil tell you.

  603. That's what the devil keeps in the mind

  604. of the alcoholic and the pervert, the

  605. fornicator. Amen. That man that's a

  606. homosexual, that woman that's a

  607. homosexual, that's a demons what that

  608. is.

  609. >> And he keeps in their mind that that

  610. that they belong to him.

  611. >> Amen. That's what he'll tell you. Let me

  612. say this. You're in abusive relationship

  613. this morning. That man or that woman

  614. that's abusing you, they'll tell you you

  615. belong to them.

  616. >> You know who you belong to first.

  617. >> He wouldn't do that to you.

  618. >> That's right.

  619. >> You listening to me? You don't stay in a

  620. relationship where somebody doesn't

  621. respect your own valition.

  622. >> Amen.

  623. >> I love my wife as much as anything in

  624. this world. She don't belong to me.

  625. >> Say, "What do you mean? God gave her to

  626. me to be barred for a little while. She

  627. belongs to him.

  628. >> And as much as I love my children, they

  629. don't belong to me.

  630. >> Amen, friend. They're gods. He just gave

  631. me the responsibility to raise them for

  632. a little while. You don't belong to

  633. anybody.

  634. >> And somebody that lays claim to you, you

  635. just remind them, friend, you don't own

  636. me. Now, I want to say this. It's not

  637. for you to be disrespectful to your

  638. parents. Youngs, listen to me.

  639. >> All right. Let me say this. that

  640. boyfriend or that girlfriend or that

  641. that friend that you have. Amen. That

  642. thinks they own you. The best thing you

  643. can do for them is leave them high and

  644. dry.

  645. >> Cut them off.

  646. >> You don't belong to them.

  647. >> You're not their hands. You're not their

  648. feet. Amen. And you don't walk where

  649. they want you to walk. And you don't

  650. hold on to what they want you to hold on

  651. to. You do what you know you're supposed

  652. TO DO CUZ YOU BELONG to God.

  653. >> Demon influence a lot closer than we

  654. think. Listen to this. The demon's

  655. dwelling. After the demon has made his

  656. decision to return, his findings are

  657. very interesting. It seems as if his

  658. host has reformed and been somewhat

  659. repaired. NOT NOTE A FEW OF THIS demon's

  660. finest. Jesus is speaking this. Verse

  661. 44. Then he will return unto my house

  662. from whence I came out. When he has

  663. come, he findeth it three things: empty,

  664. swept, and garnished. Now, what does

  665. that mean? All right. So this demon's

  666. dwelling, he's departed in verse in

  667. verse 43, but he's coming back. He's

  668. returning in verse 44. And here in the

  669. text, his desire is expressed. His

  670. description is expressed. But notice his

  671. his defining of this home. Number one, I

  672. want you to notice the coldness of this

  673. house. I was going to title title the

  674. message this, the construction of count

  675. fix. That's what this is. All right? But

  676. but I didn't title it that. Okay? You

  677. can if you want to. Amen. That's up to

  678. you. But notice this. He says he findeth

  679. it empty. Now that word empty, you know

  680. what that implies? It means there's no

  681. life.

  682. >> It's coldness. I use that word for sake

  683. of literation. But you know what this

  684. represents? It represents the heart of a

  685. man who's lost.

  686. >> There's nothing on the inside.

  687. >> See that demon left? He was the only

  688. thing that lived there. But you know

  689. what? When he came back, he found it the

  690. same way he left it. Was empty. There's

  691. no life there. nothing else was taken up

  692. residence in the house since he's been

  693. gone. So number one, you notice that the

  694. demon finds it empty according to the

  695. text. Number two, he finds it not only

  696. empty, but he finds it swept. Now that's

  697. interesting. So what does that mean?

  698. Well, notice the text. He findeth it

  699. empty, swept, and garnished. So there's

  700. the coldness of the house is empty. But

  701. then there's the cleansing of the house.

  702. You see, this man has done his diligence

  703. to remove every trace of defilement that

  704. could be in this house.

  705. You say, "What is that?" Well, that's

  706. self-reformation.

  707. This man, the demon's now gone. Well,

  708. I'm going to be the best me I can be.

  709. I'm going to try to do the best I can

  710. turn out right. I'm going to turn over a

  711. new leaf.

  712. So, what is that? Well, he swept it out.

  713. All that defilement that the demon left

  714. behind, he said, "I better get that out

  715. of here." So, you know what? The demon

  716. comes back and he finds it empty. But it

  717. ain't just empty. It's swept. It's

  718. cleansed. Now, you know how good

  719. cleansing is without Christ. It's

  720. useless.

  721. >> I'm going to say more about that in a

  722. little while. All right. Notice this. He

  723. doesn't only find it cold and cleansed,

  724. but he also finds it composed. Isn't

  725. this interesting? Notice verse 44 again.

  726. He findeth it empty, swept, and

  727. garnished. That word garnished means

  728. decorated or put together.

  729. This man has got things in order. Now,

  730. you ever seen somebody that and we say

  731. something like this, we say, "Man, they

  732. got it all together."

  733. That's what this is. This man had even

  734. prepared. Now, what you say? What does

  735. that describe in this text? Well, this

  736. man has prepared the house to be lived

  737. in again. The demons left. Well, you

  738. know what? I'm going to sweep it out,

  739. but I'm also I'm going to put things in

  740. order. Think about a house. Uh when a a

  741. seller, a a realtor is selling a house,

  742. what they do? They get sometimes they'll

  743. get that furniture it puts in there.

  744. won't go with the house, but it goes

  745. with the pictures, so it'll help it

  746. sell. It's decorating. It's what?

  747. Prepared to live in.

  748. You say, "What does that mean,

  749. preacher?" Well, that's a sign of a

  750. sinner's heart who's doing everything

  751. that they possibly can to get

  752. straightened out, to get clean, but also

  753. to get composed. They got it all

  754. together. They're not only clean, but

  755. they're trying to do the works of God.

  756. This is what happens. This is the

  757. illustration of the waste of selfre

  758. reformation or turning over a new leaf.

  759. No matter how much cleansing you try to

  760. do or how much you try to compose your

  761. heart in righteousness, if it's cold,

  762. there's no life there.

  763. >> You say, "What does that mean,

  764. preacher?" Well, the thing is it don't

  765. matter how much you decorate it up or

  766. how much you clean it out. If there's

  767. nothing living there, it's not going to

  768. benefit anybody. Amen.

  769. >> And when Jesus in this text he says that

  770. this demon findeth it empty, swept and

  771. garnished, this is the illustration that

  772. he gives. VERSE 45, THEN goeth he and

  773. taketh with himself seven other spirits

  774. more wicked than himself. Let me say

  775. this to you lost person. Your attempts

  776. at sanctifying yourself are nothing more

  777. than mere conformity and are invaluable

  778. without salvation.

  779. >> Amen.

  780. >> Say what do you mean? Well, you can try

  781. to quit drinking. You can try to quit

  782. smoking that substance you ain't got no

  783. business even knowing about.

  784. >> You can try to quit fornicating. You can

  785. try to quit living in sin. YOU CAN TRY

  786. TO DO ALL of that. AND YOU CAN

  787. STRAIGHTEN IT OUT, CLEAN IT UP, CLEAR IT

  788. OUT. AMEN. AND PUT IT ALL TOGETHER AND

  789. LOOK RIGHT ON the outside. But if there

  790. ain't nobody living in it,

  791. >> we all know what happens to a house that

  792. don't get lived in.

  793. It destroys itself faster than one it is

  794. being lived in.

  795. >> Now make that make sense. What's the

  796. natural law of decay is what it is.

  797. >> Isn't that funny? A brand new house can

  798. be built and if that thing sits there

  799. for five or 10 years, you know what she

  800. going to do? It's going to fall in.

  801. >> That's right.

  802. >> Cuz a house is made to be

  803. >> lived in.

  804. >> Amen.

  805. >> Preach. Amen.

  806. >> But I want to say this. It's made to be

  807. lived in by somebody who'll care for it.

  808. >> That's right.

  809. >> You see, your heart was made to be lived

  810. in.

  811. >> Right.

  812. >> But it was made to be lived in by one.

  813. >> Amen.

  814. >> Every person, some preacher said it this

  815. way, every person has a Godshaped void

  816. >> in their heart. You can try to fill it

  817. with every substance known to man, but

  818. I'm tell you this, they're going to be

  819. cracks in it.

  820. >> And ultimately, what it's going to do is

  821. going to destroy the form of your heart.

  822. >> And so, you know what? God never really

  823. fits right in it after that. Oh, I hope

  824. you're hearing me preach this morning.

  825. >> You see, you see the demon in the text,

  826. his departure. You see the demon's

  827. dwelling in verse 44, but notice the

  828. demon's destruction. He makes a new

  829. decision in verse 45. Then goeth he and

  830. taketh with himself seven other spirits

  831. more than himself. He said, "All right,

  832. I'm going back, but I ain't going back

  833. alone."

  834. This man means business. He's cleaned it

  835. up. He's put it all together. He's

  836. obviously serious about it. I'm going to

  837. have to have some more help.

  838. You think I'm joking or telling a story?

  839. This how it works, friend.

  840. >> You know what you do? And you try to go

  841. to them 12step programs and you do all

  842. of that. Look, I'm not against it, but

  843. they need salvation.

  844. >> You can try to do all that, but here's

  845. what you going to find. You going to

  846. come out worse the other side than you

  847. are. That's

  848. >> right.

  849. >> At the beginning,

  850. >> the new decision, you see, not only the

  851. new decision, but you notice the number

  852. of demons in verse 45. Seven other

  853. spirits. There's eight of them. He takes

  854. eight spirits instead of one. Not only

  855. the number, but notice the nefariousness

  856. of these demons, more wicked than

  857. himself. The one demon was bad enough,

  858. but you know what? He goes and gets his

  859. buddies who are worse than him.

  860. Seven of them brings them back more

  861. wicked. Then notice the negative

  862. degradation. I say it foriteration. What

  863. what he said in verse 45, more wicked

  864. than himself. And they enter in and

  865. dwell there. And the last state of that

  866. man is what? Worse than the first. I

  867. want to say this. This ain't no laughing

  868. matter. You say, "Preacher, I don't have

  869. a demon."

  870. Let me tell you something, friend. If

  871. you're lost without God, your heart's

  872. wide open.

  873. >> You don't know if you do or not. SAY,

  874. "PREACHER, BUT I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING

  875. LIKE THAT." WELL, LET ME SAY THIS.

  876. UNBELIEF IS THE cardinal sin.

  877. >> And you know what? There's been a lot of

  878. You SAY, "PREACHER, HOW IS THAT?" WELL,

  879. YOU KNOW WHAT? THE SIN that sent Judas

  880. to hell was it was unbelief. And you

  881. know who entered into his heart?

  882. Satan.

  883. >> Not a demon, but the devil himself.

  884. >> Then Satan entered in the heart of

  885. Jesus. The Bible says he betrayed the

  886. Lord. It was his unbelief that sent him

  887. to hell. You know why every sinner that

  888. dies and dies, they die and go to hell?

  889. They don't go to hell because they're

  890. drunk. They don't go to hell because

  891. they're fornication. They don't go to

  892. hell because they're an adulterer, a

  893. homosexual. They don't go to HELL FOR

  894. THOSE SINS. THEY GO TO HELL BECAUSE THEY

  895. DO NOT BELIEVE.

  896. >> And your unbelief is what's going to

  897. send you there. Preacher, I'M OKAY.

  898. HERE'S THE PROBLEM. SINNERS THAT GO TO

  899. HELL, THEY DON'T BELIEVE TWO THINGS.

  900. THEY DON'T BELIEVE THERE'S ANYTHING

  901. WRONG WITH THEM.

  902. >> That's right.

  903. >> And they don't believe that they need

  904. what Jesus has to offer. That's

  905. >> right.

  906. You see, this man is a counterfeit

  907. because even though he cleans it out,

  908. amen, and puts it all BACK TOGETHER AND

  909. MAKES IT REAL NICE AND PRETTY, THERE'S

  910. STILL NO LIFE ON THE INSIDE. THEY SOME

  911. OF YOU BEEN SITTING ON A CHURCH PEW

  912. SINCE YOU WERE A LITTLE CHILD, BUT

  913. YOU'VE GOT IT ALL TOGETHER. YOU'VE GOT

  914. IT ALL FIGURED OUT. BUT THE TRUTH IS,

  915. YOU'RE GOING TO BUST HELL WIDE OPEN

  916. BECAUSE THERE'S NO LIFE ON THE INSIDE.

  917. >> AMEN.

  918. IT SADDENS ME. IT SCARES ME TO KNOW

  919. WHO'S SITTING IN THIS CHURCH PROFESSING

  920. TO BE SAVED. BUT ONE OF THESE DAYS IF

  921. JESUS COMES BACK, you'll be left here.

  922. >> Or if you die, we roll your casket up

  923. here and try to tell your testimony

  924. because that's all we know.

  925. That your testimony will be nothing more

  926. than mere conformity.

  927. You see this man now because of this

  928. demon's destruction, he's more defiled

  929. in his person. He's more depraved in his

  930. perversion. And he's more dominated in

  931. his demon possession THAN HE EVER WAS

  932. BEFORE. THIS IS THE DANGER OF

  933. SELF-REFORM WITHOUT CHRIST. YOU CAN PUT

  934. IT ALL TOGETHER. WELL, LET ME SAY THIS,

  935. FRIEND. THE DEVIL WILL LET YOU PUT IT

  936. TOGETHER SO HE CAN DESTROY YOU AND MAKE

  937. IT 10 TIMES WORSE.

  938. You see, Israel truly exemplified this.

  939. When Jesus came into that town riding on

  940. that donkey, the colt, the fo of an ass,

  941. what did they cry? Hosana.

  942. Hosana be in the highest to the Lord, to

  943. the lamb, to the savior. He cometh

  944. lowly, riding upon a colt, upon a colt,

  945. the fo of an ass. And they throw palm

  946. branches down. But just a few short days

  947. later, those same people would be saved.

  948. crucify him.

  949. >> You say, "Why is that?" Because they

  950. cleaned it out and they put it all

  951. together, but they never allowed Christ

  952. to get in here.

  953. >> You say, "Preacher, what does that look

  954. like?" Well, let me give you this and

  955. I'm done. Tell you like, "Brother Gary,

  956. it's 5 minutes after 12. You'll be all

  957. right."

  958. Amen. You see, the truth about this text

  959. is further illustrated by the Apostle

  960. Peter. Second Peter 2 verse number 22.

  961. He said this. He said, "But it has

  962. happened unto them according to the true

  963. V proverb. The dog is turned to his own

  964. vomit again

  965. >> and the SA that was wash was washed who

  966. are wallowing in the me." You say,

  967. "Preacher, what's the illustration of

  968. that?" Well, I say this. You can feed a

  969. dog a gourmet dinner.

  970. >> You know what? You can do that for some

  971. time. You can feed him a five course

  972. meal. Amen. Every day, breakfast, lunch,

  973. and dinner. You can do it for weeks on

  974. end. But you know what? What if you take

  975. that away from him and you send him

  976. outside? I bet it wouldn't even be a

  977. day. You know what? He'd be eating

  978. something's dung again.

  979. >> That's right.

  980. >> You know why it is? Cuz he's still a

  981. dog.

  982. >> All them gourmet meals ain't done a

  983. bless fired thing for him. There's some

  984. of you in here, you've heard some of the

  985. best preaching that's ever been in the

  986. last two years. I'm not talking about

  987. me. I'm talking about these men we've

  988. had in here and they have done some fine

  989. preaching.

  990. But you know why it don't help you? You

  991. can feed a dog a fivestar meal. And if

  992. that offends you, friend, you are lost.

  993. >> I ain't no dog. Well, if you're lost,

  994. that's the only reason that would offend

  995. you. That's right.

  996. >> You I we look your parents can give you

  997. the best of everything to live a

  998. Christian life, but if you still lost,

  999. >> your problem ain't your diet.

  1000. >> It's cause you a dog.

  1001. >> Amen.

  1002. >> I know that's funny, but it's true.

  1003. >> Amen.

1004. >> You say, "How is that?" Well, it gets

1005. better. Peter said, "The S that was

1006. washed are wallowing in the mire." I

1007. want to say this. You can feed that dog

1008. a gourmet dinner, but you turn him loose

1009. long enough, he'll return to his vomit.

1010. You can wash a pig,

1011. but after a while, he'll find another

  1012. mud hole.

1013. >> You can clean him up real nice and

  1014. pretty.

1015. >> But you know what? At best, he's still a

  1016. pig,

  1017. >> right?

1018. >> And what do pigs do?

1019. >> They find the closest mud hole they can

1020. get in. And you know why they do that?

  1021. They do that this

1022. farm coming out in me. Okay. They do

1023. that to cool themselves off. You know

1024. what? That's an emblem of judgment.

1025. You know why people wallow in sin?

1026. Because it gets their mind off the

  1027. judgments waiting on them.

  1028. >> That's right.

1029. >> Bible says if you're lost, you believe

1030. not, the wrath of God abideth on you.

1031. >> The reason you keep walling your sin is

1032. so it can distract you from the fact

  1033. there's judgment coming.

  1034. >> Right.

1035. You can wash a pig, but after a while

1036. you'll find another mud hole. I want to

1037. say this, the need's not a better diet.

1038. Or to give you the point in our message,

  1039. it's not comp composition.

1040. You don't need to put it together a

  1041. little better.

1042. You don't need to get more serious about

1043. serving God. You don't know how to serve

1044. God. It's not a better diet. I say this,

  1045. it's not a better dousing either.

1046. Some of you had to water the word of God

1047. poured over you your whole life. And you

1048. know what? You come and you do the same

1049. thing. You still just as dirty as you

1050. was when you started cuz you know where

1051. the dirt's on the inside

1052. until you get the dirty heart clean. You

1053. know what you're you're never going to

1054. get clean on the outside.

1055. >> The need is not a better diet or a

1056. better doussoning. You need a new

  1057. nature. 2 Corinthians 5:1 17. If any man

    2 Corinthians 5:1

1058. be in Christ, he's a new creature. Old

  1059. things are what?

1060. Passed away. Behold, all things are

1061. become new. Let me give you this verse.

1062. Think about this. Don't miss this. 1

    1 Corinthians 6:11

1063. Corinthians 6:11. Paul said, "And such

1064. were some of you, but you are washed,

1065. but you are sanctified, but you are

1066. justified in the name of the Lord Jesus

1067. and by the spirit of God." You know

1068. what? I'm not denoting the diet. I'm not

1069. denoting the cleansing. You know what?

1070. You need to be put together well.

  1071. >> Amen.

1072. >> You need to be serious about serving

1073. God. You need to be serious about your

1074. sanctification. But you know what?

1075. Sanctification and service ain't going

1076. to do you bit of good without salvation.

1077. >> But you know what? When you get saved,

1078. you listening to me when you get saved,

1079. you know what'll happen to you? You want

1080. to get serious about sanctification.

1081. You'll need that cleansing because the

1082. coldness will be gone. Amen. Then you'll

1083. want to clean the house up. Not only

1084. will you want to clean the house up, but

1085. you want to put it together, right?

1086. Here's my plea with you this morning.

1087. When you get your nature changed,

1088. you'll get new cleansing and new

1089. composure. But first of all, you got to

1090. be converted. And here's my plea with

1091. you this morning. Stop playing.

  1092. Stop playing, church.

1093. >> Say, "Preacher, nobody knows that I'm

1094. lost." All friend, God knows.

1095. >> And he's sick and tired of you acting

  1096. like you're saved.

  1097. >> Amen.

1098. >> I told you I was going to be straight.

1099. Cuz you know what? We've had enough of

  1100. the fake stuff.

  1101. >> Go ahead.

1102. >> Stop playing. Stop acting like you're

  1103. real.

  1104. You ain't fooled nobody.

  1105. You act like you

1106. place your offer. You You'll put your

1107. offering in that little envelope cuz you

1108. don't want nobody to see what you give.

1109. Place it in there. Make sure everybody

1110. sees the envelope so they know you're

  1111. giving.

1112. Make sure they see you when you leave

1113. your house going to church. Make sure

  1114. preacher we's there.

1115. Got there 30 minutes late.

1116. Come in. Don't even care about being

1117. here. You ain't noticed a thing going

1118. on. You ain't talked to nobody. You

  1119. ain't shook nobody's hand. You say,

1120. "Preacher, what does that have to do

1121. with anything?" Here's what that has to

1122. do with. You're not serious.

1123. >> You know, people who are serious,

  1124. they're serious because God's on the

  1125. inside.

1126. >> And this thing's bigger than you.

  1127. >> It's bigger than me. That's right.

1128. >> And you know what it ain't about whether

1129. you see me or I see you. And God help us

1130. if we ever get to that point. Let's

  1131. close the doors.

  1132. >> Amen.

1133. >> You know what it's about? It's about us

  1134. seeing him, number one.

1135. >> And it's about them lost people coming

1136. through those doors getting some help

  1137. that'll last.

  1138. >> Amen.

1139. >> But you know why they ain't getting

  1140. help? It's because you're sitting in

1141. here needing help. Won't take it.

1142. >> Quit trying to put it together. Quit

1143. trying to clean it up. Once you get it

1144. on the altar and either get saved or get

1145. right with God. Amen. And get real and

  1146. get serious about it.

1147. As we stand, every heads bowed and every

  1148. eyes closed.

1149. I'd hate to know that my life that my

  1150. heart is a demon's dwelling place.

  1151. You say, "Preacher,

1152. I'm saved, but that message convicted

1153. me." You know, last night, friend, when

1154. I was looking over my notes,

1155. I had to get in the floor in my living

1156. room and beg God to cleanse me.

1157. Cuz I don't ever want to be a tool of

  1158. the enemy.

  1159. I don't ever want to be influenced. I

1160. don't ever want to be driven.

1161. I don't ever want to be controlled by

1162. anything that he is pressing in my

  1163. direction.

1164. And if you're saved by the grace of God,

1165. it will rip your heart out.

1166. Let me say this. Say, some of you could

1167. care less about the thing I've said this

  1168. morning.

  1169. You might think it's a joke, but I'm

1170. going tell you this. One of these days

1171. when you get to the judgment seat,

  1172. you'll wish I was joking.

1173. When you stand before God,

1174. your self-righteous white robe clothing

  1175. your hog lifestyle.

1176. You know what? That robe will come off

1177. real fast. That facade, that image of

1178. so-called righteousness that you think

1179. you have. Jesus made the distinction

  1180. lines very clear.

1181. He said, "You think you've got it all

  1182. together,

1183. but you just better realize you're

  1184. wicked.

1185. You don't need a sign this morning. You

1186. just need to obey what you know.

1187. There's people on this altar praying.

1188. Others need to come. Let me ask you, if

1189. you died right now, sinner, listen to

1190. me. Listen to me. Put everything else

1191. out of your mind. We're not worried

1192. about lunch. We're not worried about

1193. what we're doing this afternoon.

1194. If you died right now, and you could.

1195. You could. If you died right now, where

  1196. would you be

  1197. if you don't know, friend? I wouldn't

  1198. sit still.

1199. Cuz here's what'll happen. The Lord has

1200. removed that influence, that demon

1201. influence for just long enough so you

1202. could hear the truth this morning. And

1203. what you'll do is you'll walk out of

1204. these doors again and you'll be under

1205. the influence of something else and

  1206. you'll forget.

1207. I hope God leaves conviction on you. But

1208. I'm going to tell you the way

1209. distraction works in this world today.

1210. Sinners don't even bat an eye this

  1211. anymore at the gospel.

1212. But I want to tell you this, you'll wish

  1213. a thousand times over you'd gotten

  1214. saved.

1215. Say, "Preacher, I'm lost. Would you pray

1216. for me?" Ain't nobody looking but me.

1217. Just be honest between you and God. And

1218. just slip your hand up. I'll pray for

1219. you. Hey, friend, eternity is real. You

1220. going to live forever somewhere.

  1221. You listening.

1222. You going to live forever somewhere.

1223. Preacher, would you pray for me? I'm

1224. lost. Slip your hand up. Be honest.

  1225. God sees that.

1226. God sees that you can be saved today.

1227. There's others, no doubt in my mind,

1228. you can be saved today. I wouldn't wait.

1229. Come to this altar. We'll show you how

  1230. to be saved.

1231. People on the altar praying for you.

  1232. While we wait,

1233. let me ask you this, child of God.

1234. Bible tells us in the epistle of John,

1235. we're to try the spirits

1236. cuz not every spirit's from God.

1237. Let me ask you, if you had a spirit

1238. influence in you that wasn't from the

  1239. Lord.

1240. Said, "Preacher, would you pray for me?

1241. having influence my life that I'm

1242. fighting with that I know ain't God.

1243. Say, "Preacher, what does that look

1244. like?" God sees those hands. Say,

1245. "Preacher, what does that look like?"

1246. I'll tell you what it looks like. It

1247. looks like a friend that ain't right.

1248. Friend lost. It looks like somebody's

1249. trying to get you away from your Bible.

1250. Trying to get you away from the house of

  1251. God.

1252. I'm going to tell you something, friend.

1253. Anybody wants to try to take your King

1254. James Bible from your hands, they ain't

  1255. right with God.

1256. You get a death grip on that thing. And

1257. do not turn it loose.

1258. It's the only thing that's going to help

  1259. you.

1260. I want to ask you again, if you going to

1261. play another verse, if you lost, come be

1262. saved. Don't wait. Let me say this. This

1263. altar is still open. You need something

1264. from God, be sure you get it.

1265. Please be sure you get it.

1266. The wonder of being a child of God is

1267. that the devil cannot live in our heart

1268. because the Holy Spirit lives there. But

1269. if we're not careful, we'll grieve the

1270. Holy Spirit to a point where we become

  1271. influenced

1272. by the devil, by our flesh. So much so

1273. that we can't hear the voice of God in

  1274. our life anymore.

1275. And believe me, you will be in a

1276. miserable place if you get to that

  1277. point.

1278. Father, I pray in Jesus name.

1279. Lord, in the seriousness of this time,

1280. God, Christians are still praying. Lord,

1281. I ask you, God, today, Father, that you

1282. would not allow, Lord, the lost souls to

  1283. leave today.

1284. God, I pray you wouldn't leave this

  1285. place without getting saved.

1286. But Lord, I pray, Father, that you would

1287. help us all realize today, God, just how

  1288. important

1289. it is to stay clean.

1290. But Lord, we can't afford to be cold.

1291. Lord, the description of the church of

1292. the last days, that led to church you

1293. told us about in Revelation 3. You said

1294. that thou art neither cold in our heart,

  1295. but you're lukewarm.

  1296. Lord, that's because we've been

1297. straddling the fence too long. Well, we

1298. won't get on one side of the other.

1299. Lord, people walk away. Lord, they walk

  1300. away in their lukewarmness.

1301. God, your children that get cold and

1302. indifferent on you, that are done with

1303. you, Lord, you just take them on home.

1304. You won't tolerate that. But Lord, it

1305. burdens me to see the amount of people,

1306. Lord, that are just lukewarm, serious

1307. about some things, Lord, could care less

1308. about others. Lord, I please pray. I

1309. pray Lord please God would you break our

1310. hearts set a flame in our soul God I

1311. thank you for the testimonies that were

1312. shared in Sunday school this morning God

1313. of how this mission's made and stirred

1314. our hearts Lord I am longing God for

1315. that to continue Lord I'm praying God

1316. that you would please continue to

1317. strengthen us Lord not just in our

1318. giving but God in our praying for the

1319. sinners that are around us

1320. Lord I know you're not willing that any

1321. should perish. And God, we should not be

1322. willing that any perish. But Lord, when

1323. we choose to forsake our time of prayer,

1324. Lord, when we choose to not go witness,

  1325. God, that's what we're doing. We're

1326. saying we would just allow them to

1327. perish, God, because it might we might

1328. be the last chance somebody has. Lord,

1329. would you help us to be urgent? Help us

1330. to be serious. And Lord, I pray once

1331. again, please don't let no lost souls

1332. leave this place today that way. Lord, I

1333. sure love you. I thank you for loving

1334. me. Thank you for the blood. God, thank

1335. you for saving my soul from hell. I know

1336. that's where I'd be today if it were not

1337. for your grace. And Lord, I rejoice

1338. today knowing that you've done a work in

1339. my heart. Lord, I ask you please bless

1340. our service tonight. Get glory to

1341. yourself. We ask it in Jesus name. God's

  1342. children say it.

  1343. >> Amen.
