  1. Well, this morning I am excited. I'm

  2. always pumped, if you didn't know, to

  3. bring the word. But today, I just

  4. believe the Lord has put a word on my

  5. heart as we continue to walk through

  6. Nehemiah. And we're going to actually be

  7. looking in chapter 6 and 8 and 10 today.

  8. So, if you turn your Bibles to chapter 6

  9. of Nehemiah, that's where we're going to

  10. be jumping in to what he hap has for us

  11. today. But today is a special day to me

  12. because it's our vision Sunday. This

  13. year we did a little different one

  14. service. We're all together, ready to

  15. go. And then after service, we're going

  16. to have a potluck, a meal together. If

  17. you didn't bring food, please come. The

  18. main dish, we've got all the stuff.

  19. We'll be ready for you. It'll be a good

  20. time. Uh if you brought a lot of food,

  21. eat a lot of food. If you brought a

  22. little food, eat a little food. You

  23. know, if you brought none, eat some.

  24. It's okay. Just kidding. Come on. We're

  25. going to have a good time. Um but it's

  26. going to be a great moment. But I love

  27. when we come together and we say, "We

  28. are going to be united,

  29. >> right? We're going to be together."

  30. That's what vision, that's what God

  31. moving in our midst hopefully is all

  32. about. Because when he moves, there's no

  33. way that we can be apart. There's no way

  34. we can be separate. There's no way that

  35. we can walk against what he's doing when

  36. we come and we submit ourselves to the

  37. King of the Kings and the Lord of Lords.

  38. In fact, as we just saying, when we look

  39. at him and believe and walk our lives,

  40. he's the highest. He's the greatest.

  41. That means he's above it all. Which

  42. means whatever we're dealing with on

  43. this earth, you can do it. you can make

  44. it because our eyes are on him. Our eyes

  45. aren't on it, on the things that happen.

  46. Sometimes real things, hurtful things,

  47. painful things, sometimes sickness or

  48. disease or relationships aren't going

  49. like we want or we lose our job like

  50. real things. But when we walk through

  51. those things and we keep our eyes on

  52. Jesus, everything's different. And as a

  53. church family, when we walk united

  54. together, something happens that's

  55. really cool. Hopefully, this is how your

  56. family works. Sometimes family, not this

  57. part, but sometimes family members do

  58. things or say things or make comments

  59. they shouldn't. Anybody have a family

  60. member like that in your family? Come

  61. on. Half of you are lying today. I don't

  62. believe that that's that few. But okay,

  63. fine. Your your family's perfect.

  64. But sometimes those things happen,

  65. right? People say things. And what do

  66. you do when you are a family? You say,

  67. "Uh, I love him anyways, Pastor Nate. No

  68. matter what you say, I love you. You're

  69. my brother, right? You're my brother."

  70. And when we're the church family and

  71. we're united and we're moving the same

  72. direction, no matter what happens, we

  73. say, "Hey, they're my friend. They're my

  74. brother. They're my sister. I love them.

  75. Maybe they're growing. Maybe they messed

  76. up." Did you know that we do that

  77. sometimes? In fact, I say this and I've

  78. heard more people say this recently that

  79. like quoting me, but hey, if you think

  80. everything's perfect, everything's good,

  81. that the rad fam is just amazing, the

  82. best ever, just stick around a little

  83. while. I'm sure I or someone will do

  84. something or say something because we're

  85. humans unfortunately. We don't want to

  86. be but we are and therefore we mess up.

  87. But when we are united and together even

  88. when things happen we say hey Lord you

  89. are bigger. You're higher. I can

  90. overlook. And then sometimes we get to

  91. help people walk a journey that takes

  92. them from where they were just like us

  93. from where we are to where he wants us

  94. to be. and in three months or six months

  95. or some people are a little slower at

  96. six years or maybe even six decades it's

  97. like woo we've made it we're not dealing

  98. with that anymore right uh some of you

  99. got excited on that sixth decade one I'm

  100. not sure I don't know

  101. but when we think of the body of Christ

  102. and really what's going on in Nehemiah

  103. these people for generations had walls

  104. torn down had a situation where it

  105. wasn't like it was supposed to be in

  106. fact the people of Israel were literally

  107. a laughingtock to the people that were

  108. around them. They were in in exile.

  109. Their leaders, the the ones who were in

  110. in position, they were gone. They

  111. weren't even there. There was just issue

  112. and problem. And if anybody wanted to

  113. come against them, they could because

  114. there was no protection. There was no

  115. covering. The walls were destroyed. And

  116. the people were not united. And after

  117. generations, Nehemiah came. And we've

  118. looked the last couple of weeks and seen

  119. not because he was some amazing person

  120. or orator or that he had all the right

  121. things and no, he had a belief from God

  122. that God was going to move. He was put

  123. in a position that he had a king that he

  124. was under that he could ask, "Can we go?

  125. Will you help us?" And God blessed that

  126. situation. God moved in what should not

  127. have been possible. And when he spoke to

  128. the people, the people said, "Let's do

  129. it."

  130. The people picked up their their in in

  131. their day, they had to protect

  132. themselves. They picked up their spears

  133. and their swords and their weapons while

  134. they picked up their tools and their

  135. working things and they were protected

  136. in one hand and they were working with

  137. another. Now, I don't know about anybody

  138. else, but a couple years ago now a year

  139. plus, we were building a an addition on

  140. one of our missionary homes. In fact,

  141. the Sidler's right over here. And uh I

  142. didn't I could hardly handle a hammer in

  143. one hand. In fact, I'm going to be real.

  144. So, I just have to tell you sidlers that

  145. uh I I don't know why, but I thought it

  146. would be a good idea to like jump out of

  147. the rafters. There's only like 8 ft, so

  148. I'm hanging down, so it should be fine.

  149. And I had a hammer and I had a tool

  150. belt. And somehow I landed and didn't

  151. land how I wanted to land. And I think I

  152. broke my wrist. Truly, I'm not sure what

  153. happened, but it still hurts if I sleep

  154. on it just wrong. I'm like, I think I

  155. have arthritis because of you guys.

  156. >> And I didn't even have a sword or a

  157. spear h spear happening. Like, I don't

  158. know how they did it.

  159. But it is amazing when we work together

  160. truly anything is possible,

  161. >> right? And when the body of Christ comes

  162. together,

  163. there's something that happens.

  164. >> Yes.

  165. >> But what we're going to look at today is

  166. it's not only about coming and it's not

  167. only about being here on a Sunday and

  168. celebrating and woo look at what God's

  169. done in the past and where he's going

  170. and what he's going to do in the future,

  171. but it's about saying, God, what do you

  172. have for us? And how do we see the

  173. gospel of Jesus Christ go from radiant

  174. life and go beyond the walls, right? How

  175. do we see more people come to know

  176. Jesus? How do we see one more person,

  177. what it says out there, one more for

  178. Jesus happen over and over and over and

  179. over again? Today, we're going to look

  180. at a few of those things. How do we get

  181. beyond the walls? How do we go beyond

  182. just doing our thing, but going and

  183. doing the thing that God has for his

  184. church? And so today we're going to look

  185. and start in Nehemiah chapter 6. And uh

    Nehemiah 6 chapter mention

  186. if you haven't read Nehemiah, I

  187. encourage you. We have another couple

  188. weeks here that we're going to be in

  189. Nehemiah, but spend time on your own.

  190. Maybe read a chapter a day. Read a

  191. couple chapter of a day on your own and

  192. spend some time in Nehemiah. It is

  193. amazing. You'll get so much more out of

  194. it. I just want you to know you'll get

  195. so much more out of it than only what I

  196. can share on a Sunday morning. If you

  197. sit down with the Bible, give yourself a

  198. little time. You can pull up the Google

  199. machine or AI even and you can ask,

  200. "Hey, what's this mean?" Now, you want

  201. to check and be sure it's not wacko

  202. because, you know, that could be wacko.

  203. But you can pray, "Lord, what do you

  204. what does this mean?" He'll reveal

  205. things to you. So, I just encourage you,

  206. spend some time in Nehemiah over the

  207. next couple weeks if you haven't

  208. already. But in Nehemiah 6:15,

    Nehemiah 6:15

  209. it says, "So the wall was finished and

  210. the 25th day or on the 25th day of the

  211. month of Elu in 52

  212. days." Now, real fast. I just have to

  213. stop there. They had no walls for

  214. generations. They had issues and

  215. problems. They were a laughingtock. And

  216. in 52 days, that's less time than it

  217. took to put the addition on the Sidler's

  218. house. Like 52 days, they rebuilt the

  219. walls, rebuilt the gate. It's to this

  220. place of completion. And when all of

  221. their enemies heard of it, all the

  222. nations around us were afraid and fell

  223. greatly in their own esteem. for they

  224. perceived that this work had been

  225. accomplished with the help of our God.

  226. There's something about this moment and

  227. what I really think is is vital here.

  228. They didn't only build the walls. They

  229. didn't only build the gates and put it

  230. all back together. In chapter 3, we saw

  231. that different families and different

  232. groups build different gates and put

  233. them to a place of half. And here they

  234. get all the way to full height. But

  235. that's not all that took place because

  236. when it was completed, it was just

  237. getting going because God began to speak

  238. to the people around them. God began to

  239. show them and they were afraid or their

  240. esteem of themselves who what they

  241. thought of themselves and their power

  242. went down because they said there's no

  243. way that could happen without the hand

  244. of God. And it's important for us that

  245. to realize that finishing is not the

  246. finish line. And I think often in our

  247. life, we see a moment or we see

  248. something or something is happening, we

  249. say, "I did it. I've accomplished it.

  250. I've finished the task." Well, if you're

  251. a follower of Jesus, until we get to

  252. heaven, until we go and get a walk into

  253. his presence and there's no tears,

  254. death, sorrow, or sin, until every

  255. person on this planet is a follower of

  256. Jesus, until every person knows him.

  257. Church, I want you to know there's not a

  258. finish line that's the end. There's a

  259. finish line that is the beginning of a

  260. new start, a new dream, a new vision in

  261. your life. Maybe you're praying, "Lord,

  262. if I could just get over this problem or

  263. this sin or this addiction in my life,

  264. everything." Guess what? I want This is

  265. encouragement. I hope it should be

  266. encouragement. No, when you get there,

  267. you're going to realize God has more for

  268. you. He's got better for you. The plans

  269. and the dream and the vision are better

  270. than you thought because when you get to

  271. the finish line, you realize, you know

  272. what? That's not the end. That's just

  273. the beginning. We're just getting going.

  274. The wall didn't just stand, but it

  275. testified. The enemies recognized God's

  276. hand. They feared because they said,

  277. "God is on the move."

  278. The wall was just the evidence. The wall

  279. was the sign that, "Wow, God did

  280. something." The wall was just, "Woo! I

  281. have more faith to believe cuz look at

  282. what he did in 52 days. Look at his

  283. power and his goodness and his grace.

  284. And now we can step deeper into the

  285. things he has. Because those 52 days

  286. show me, church, come on. That God has

  287. so much more. And if he can do that,

  288. what can he do? What can he do with the

  289. rest of our lives? What can he do with

  290. the rest of the year? What can he do

  291. with the rest of of what he has called

  292. us to? Don't get to a spot and say,

  293. "I've arrived. I've come. I know Jesus.

  294. I have relationship." But let the

  295. relationship and what he's done so far

  296. just be the catalyst to go and to move

  297. deeper into the things of our God.

  298. God says, "You did it. It's done. Now

  299. step forward. You did it. It's finished.

  300. Now let's keep going. You did it. That

  301. is over. Let's move into what I have

  302. fully called you to in this next

  303. season." What God has already fulfilled

  304. points to what he will do in the future.

  305. And in fact, if you're here today,

  306. you're here on a Sunday morning, you've

  307. come to church, I would assume that

  308. something has been done in your life

  309. that God has moved or showed up. Or

  310. maybe you're here cuz someone drugg you

  311. here. Well, God's moving in their life.

  312. So, you can look at them and say, "Hey,

  313. there's something for me because I'm

  314. here." And God is his presence is

  315. powerful.

  316. So, what has already happened is

  317. pointing to something even greater in

  318. the future. Finishing is not the finish

  319. line. Second, today we see I believe

  320. that comfort zones kill kingdom vision.

  321. There's time when we think of that

  322. finish line and if we let that be the

  323. end and we say, "Hey, I've done it. I've

  324. made it. I've accomplished it. Woo, come

  325. on. I'm good." Now, I I just I don't

  326. know. I'm having so much fun. I must be

  327. honest with you. Uh I think maybe like a

  328. lot of us, but when I think of working

  329. out, I love working out. Like, I love

  330. it. But I have these wonderful seasons

  331. where I do great and then where it's

  332. like six months, a year, I don't do

  333. anything.

  334. And I truly don't understand how I can

  335. love something so much and then just not

  336. do it for a long period of time. But you

  337. know what really uh is frustrating? I

  338. was telling my wife this is probably a

  339. flaw in myself, but I use the caliber

  340. act. And in fact, hey, if you want to be

  341. a part of a little there's a few of us

  342. that were on there and we we can see

  343. what everyone does and it's fun. kind of

  344. like a like Kyle and Amanda. Come on.

  345. There's a few that we're on there. We're

  346. putting stuff in there. If you want to

  347. join us, I'll figure it out. I forget

  348. how we do it. It's been a couple years,

  349. but we can make it happen. But the

  350. Caliber Act, our app, it tells me what

  351. the highest amount of like weight I've

  352. lifted is. And let me just tell you

  353. something that when you don't work out

  354. for 6 months or nine months,

  355. it doesn't look good. when you're like,

  356. I was where

  357. I was curling 50 pounds and now like 20

  358. pounds is killer.

  359. How is it possible? Like for real, I'm

  360. just go back to what I was. No, you

  361. can't go back to what you were. Not if

  362. you just settled in. Not if you're just

  363. like, I'm not going to do anything

  364. anymore. Right? And in my own workout,

  365. I'm waiting and I'm kind of I'm not

  366. waiting. I'm moving. In fact, this

  367. morning I got up. I was like, h let's do

  368. this. Right? We can go a little little

  369. more on my my curls and my tricep work,

  370. right? all of these things because I

  371. want to get back where I was actually in

  372. the spring of 2024. It's the best I've

  373. been on that app and I want to get back

  374. to that point. So, I'm working hard to

  375. get there. In fact, when when uh maybe

  376. you come to my house sometime, I have my

  377. front room. We've got all of our

  378. weights. They're all there and some of

  379. the people are like, "Do you use these?"

  380. Like, I have 80 pound dumbbells. So,

  381. those are pretty pretty heavy. I'm like,

  382. "I have I have. Am I right now?" No.

  383. But I'm going to again

  384. >> come on.

  385. >> In fact, I think in about a month, maybe

  386. two, I will be using those 80 pounders

  387. again. Some some ch, you know, doing it.

  388. I'm going to make it happen. I believe

  389. you can you can ask me. I'm going to

  390. keep working on it.

  391. >> But if you settle in and say, "Well, I

  392. made it. I'm using the heaviest weights

  393. that I own." And you're like, "I'm not

  394. going to do anything else." Guess what?

  395. those heavy weights are going to sit

  396. there a long time

  397. >> because you're going to have to work

  398. back up to that place. And so often we

  399. want to just settle in and we just want

  400. to make it happen. We're like, "Well,

  401. I'm sure I can jump back." No, it takes

  402. continued effort. The walls are built.

  403. And now I say, "Let's keep going. Let's

  404. keep experiencing what God has." And if

  405. we jump over to chapter 8 in the first

  406. few verses and uh I just want to first

  407. of all say I was going to read verse

  408. three. uh and you can read verse three

  409. uh on your own as it is an exciting

  410. piece of uh scripture by that. I mean

  411. there's a lot of names actually it's

  412. verse four and you should read all those

  413. names to yourself. I'm not going to even

  414. attempt to read those names this morning

  415. cuz I don't want to be embarrassed but

  416. uh Nehemiah 8:1-3 it says and all the

    Nehemiah 8:1–3

  417. people gathered as one man into the

  418. square before the Watergate and they

  419. told Ezra the scribe to bring the book

  420. of the law of Moses that the Lord had

  421. commanded Israel. So Ezra the priest

  422. brought the law before the assembly both

  423. men and women and all who could

  424. understand what they heard on the first

  425. day of the seventh month. And he read

  426. from it facing the square before the

  427. Watergate from early morning until

  428. midday in the presence of the men and

  429. the women and those who could

  430. understand. And the ears of all the

  431. people were attentive to the book of the

  432. law. And it just jumped out at me that

  433. they had finished the wall. The people

  434. around them are basically terrified of

  435. what God has just done and who God is

  436. and the new walls and the people that

  437. have returned after generations.

  438. And they didn't just settle in and say,

  439. "Wow, we've got it." But here in chapter

  440. 8, they got around. Be real. If we tried

  441. that today, hey, we're just going to

  442. keep going till, you know, let's call

  443. early morning. So, we'll say three.

  444. We're gonna go till three today. I'm

  445. just gonna keep preaching. Sounds fun to

  446. me. I'm I'm in. But how many of you are

  447. in? You don't have to raise your hand.

  448. Not many of you are in.

  449. In fact, I might get tired of hearing

  450. myself speak. I'm just going to be real.

  451. But what did they do? It was built. It

  452. was finished. And they said, "We've got

  453. to get together and we have to hear the

  454. word. And we've got to understand what

  455. God wants for us because it's not over.

  456. I'm not just going to settle. But Lord,

  457. now that I've arrived, it's time to hear

  458. you and to experience you so I can know

  459. where I'm going." Yes,

  460. >> we can't just settle in.

  461. I

  462. >> think in culture and the day that we

  463. live, there's this enjoy what you've

  464. built. You've arrived. You've made it.

  465. Maybe that's later in life. Wow.

  466. Retirement, you're at this place and use

  467. what you have. And I want to encourage

  468. you something. Maybe you're a little

  469. later in life or you're in the middle or

  470. you're right in the throws of kids at

  471. home and craziness. What whatever your

  472. stage is, it's not a time just to

  473. settle. It's not a time just to be

  474. there. It's not a time to say, "Well,

  475. thank you, Lord, that I know you." No,

  476. it's time to say, "What does your word

  477. speak to my heart? How can I be the best

  478. parent and the best leader? How can I

  479. see someone in my neighborhood come to

  480. know you? How can we as a church family

  481. say, "Hey, 76 missionaries and orgs is

  482. awesome, but there's more. There's more

  483. that are reaching places that they need

  484. the message of the gospel." And how do

  485. we experience God? How do we see more

  486. people fill the seats in this room? Not

  487. so we can say there's a full room. But

  488. because it's people that need Jesus.

  489. It's people that need his spirit in

  490. their life. It's people that just like

  491. us. If we get comfortable and just live

  492. and do our own thing,

  493. it can get rough.

  494. All of a sudden, where we were, we

  495. cannot be anymore if we just put the

  496. weights down. We put the word down. We

  497. start doing life our own way.

  498. You know what? Normally when it comes to

  499. my exercise routine, whether it be

  500. running, I love running. I love weights.

  501. I love it all. It's not normally one day

  502. I say, "You know what, Pastor Nate? I'm

  503. going to not work out for the next six

  504. months." Like, it's not a decision that

  505. I'm like, "This is the moment. I I'm

  506. happy. I'm going to quit." You know what

  507. happens? I wake up one day and I'm like,

  508. I don't want to do it.

  509. Or maybe I'm like, "You know what?

  510. There's a meeting. I have a meeting. I

  511. have breakfast. I've got to go out. So,

  512. I need to not do that. And you know what

  513. happens the next day? You know what? I'm

  514. tired today. And it's not like I'm

  515. deciding. I'm just It is. And I lay in

  516. bed or I don't wake up. And then the

  517. next day and you say, you know what?

  518. I've got to get work done. So, you go to

  519. work a little early. And then the next

  520. day you say, you know what? I'm tired

  521. again. And the next day you say, you

  522. know what? I've got a meeting. I can't

  523. make it happen. And then it's been a

  524. week. And then it's been two weeks.

  525. If I'm being real, if you're going to

  526. neglect something, neglect that stuff.

  527. But when we do that with the things of

  528. God and the things of his spirit,

  529. church, our lives don't they don't work

  530. quite the same.

  531. >> It's not as good. I don't know about

  532. anybody else, but it's not necessarily

  533. that in every moment I hear God like

  534. speak this audible word from the Lord.

  535. And if you do, praise him. Like that's

  536. awesome. That's a blessing. But when I'm

  537. in the word and when I'm spending time

  538. with Jesus and I'm waking up and working

  539. out and the word, it makes it all so

  540. much easier if I'm doing it all

  541. together. I don't know. It just is

  542. something. It is a discipline, but that

  543. discipline turns into way more of a

  544. Lord, this is so good.

  545. And I just want to encourage you, don't

  546. just settle, but let him speak. And in

  547. fact, this year, if you can believe it,

  548. I didn't say specifically like the first

  549. of the year on purpose. I think we have

  550. to be in the word. And if you do not

  551. have a Bible reading plan, there are

  552. some great ones. You can get the Uver

  553. Bible app. You can do the uh Terry Lee

  554. Cobble. She does an amazing thing with

  555. walking through the Bible. I right now

  556. I'm listening to a chapter of the word

  557. and then I'm listening to the IVP

  558. background commentary that tells me

  559. about things that they would have

  560. thought and what they would have looked

  561. like and what it meant to them. That

  562. sometimes when they when it talks about

  563. what they thought and what it looked

  564. like, it is read different when you read

  565. the Bible with context and you read it

  566. with background. And so I'm sitting and

  567. then I'm studying those two things

  568. together and instead last year I went

  569. through the whole Bible. This year I'm

  570. just going through the New Testament in

  571. a slow way and putting that so that I

  572. can really grow. Lord, what's this mean?

  573. When Jesus says this, what's this mean?

  574. And I don't care what method you use. I

  575. don't care if you read the Bible on

  576. purpose 5 days a week or seven days a

  577. week or four days a week. But I

  578. encourage you, there's something about

  579. literally statistically when we read the

  580. Bible and we're in it four days a week

  581. and we spend time with Jesus that if

  582. you're struggling with addiction or

  583. pornography or issues in your life, the

  584. the amount that you're able to get over

  585. those things goes up exponentially.

  586. Nothing else has to change, but you

  587. spend four days a week with Jesus

  588. >> and your life will change.

  589. >> So, I like five or six. It's even

  590. better. But give yourself grace. And if

  591. you start right now, you're not starting

  592. on the 1st of January. So, you're just

  593. going to go and when you miss a day, you

  594. know what you do?

  595. Just do the next day. That's what I

  596. would do. Do the day you missed, but you

  597. don't have TO GO BACK. SO, WHEN you've

  598. missed a week, don't quit, but say,

  599. "Hey, it's time to do it again. I'm

  600. going to get right into it because I

  601. can't fall back into the thing cuz ah,

  602. things are going well or things are

  603. difficult." But comfort zones kill

  604. vision. When we choose comfort, we delay

  605. what God has already declared. And I

  606. want you to know as individuals in his

  607. word, but as a church family, if we say

  608. things are good, things are great. I

  609. like how this ministry or this way or

  610. this thing we've done, no. Is it what

  611. God has for today? Or are we just

  612. comfortable in the season that we're in?

  613. Because if we're comfortable and it's

  614. not what God has, it's time for us to go

  615. where he would have us to be.

  616. >> Cuz I don't want anything I don't want

  617. anything to hold us back from what God

  618. has already declared. And he's just

  619. waiting for us to take a step. He's

  620. waiting for us to stand around to hear

  621. the word. He's waiting for us to dig

  622. into his word and then to join together

  623. as one. Finishing is not the finish

  624. line. Comfort zones kill kingdom vision.

  625. And third, the mission moves when we

  626. move. In Nehemiah 10 verse 28, we go a

    Nehemiah 10:28

  627. couple chapters forward. And we can we

  628. can see the word here in verse 28. says,

  629. "The rest of the people, the priests,

  630. the Levites, the gatekeepers, the

  631. singers, the temple servants, and all

  632. who have separated themselves from the

  633. peoples of the land, to the law of God,

  634. their wives, their sons, their

  635. daughters, all who have knowledge and

  636. understanding, join with their brothers,

  637. their nobles, and enter into a curse and

  638. an oath to walk in God's law that was

  639. given by Moses, the servant of God, and

  640. to observe and do all the commandments

  641. of the Lord, our Lord, and his rule.

  642. rules and his statutes.

  643. Now, anybody else you're like, "Whoa,

  644. what what does that mean?" Specifically,

  645. a curse and an oath. They entered into a

  646. curse

  647. and oath. And as I've been praying and

  648. studying,

  649. you know, I I've just been thinking

  650. about this that I don't even have to

  651. pray this prayer, but when I walk in the

  652. things of God, I've committed myself to

  653. the Lord and I'm walking in relationship

  654. with him and I'm experiencing him and

  655. I'm not just sitting back. I'm not just

  656. we'll see what happens. I haven't got to

  657. some imaginary finish line, but everyone

  658. I'm like, let's keep going. Let's keep

  659. moving. Let's keep pressing into the

  660. things of God. And not so that we see

  661. stuff, but so we know Jesus better

  662. so we walk in him. And so when we sin,

  663. we're like, I hate sin. I hate it. Not

  664. so that we can punish oursel, but so we

  665. can come and bring it to the Lord. Lord,

  666. help me. Forgive me. Help me to walk in

  667. your purity and in your goodness. And

  668. the people after everything was going

  669. well, after they spent time with God,

  670. after they had been with him, after he

  671. had moved, after they had confessed

  672. their sins, in fact, if you just look

  673. back at the last few chapters, chapter

  674. six is really about the completion of

  675. the wall. Chapter 8 is about revelation.

  676. They receive from the Lord and his word.

  677. Chapter nine, they confess and come

  678. before him. And chapter 10 here we see

  679. as a commitment to God

  680. to who he is.

  681. And when as a church family and as

  682. individuals we say it's not only time to

  683. see but now we're going to move. The

  684. people came and they said Lord you've

  685. done so much. And we literally are going

  686. to come before you. And we recognize and

  687. we speak the truth that when we walk in

  688. you there's a blessing that follows.

  689. There's a truth that follows. There's

  690. something amazing that takes place. And

  691. even when we're walking in and things

  692. happen and there's difficulty, when

  693. people we love pass away or things don't

  694. go how we want, there's a blessing as he

  695. follows us and walks in us and puts

  696. covering over us.

  697. But church, they understood. And in this

  698. commitment, the curse, they understood

  699. that if they've turned away from the law

  700. and the plan of God that simply the

  701. blessing would be removed and there

  702. would be a curse on their life. that

  703. what was so good, the covering of Jesus,

  704. of God in their day, that covering of 52

  705. days and the walls were rebuilt. The 52

  706. days and now the people around them no

  707. longer were mocking, but they were in

  708. fear because they understood God that it

  709. could be removed if we don't keep

  710. walking forward in God. And I want you

  711. to know something. I'm so thankful that

  712. Jesus come with came with his grace and

  713. with his mercy. And I'm so thankful that

  714. he still comes with his grace and with

  715. his mercy. But I also want to just be

  716. real today. If as a church or an

  717. individuals, we come and we say, "Lord,

  718. because of what you did, now I can do

  719. whatever I want." We put ourselves under

  720. a curse and we put ourselves out of the

  721. protection of our God. The oath to the

  722. Lord, all of a sudden we say, "Wow, he's

  723. amazing." Which he still is. But are you

  724. living under him? Are you living under

  725. his rule? Are you living under his

  726. blessing? Or have we removed ourselves?

  727. And like the people, maybe we don't want

  728. to pray that prayer, but we've entered a

  729. curse and an oath to walk in God's law,

  730. to spend time in the spirit, to walk in

  731. him and let him move. And church, I'm

  732. just going to be real, and I don't know

  733. that I often use this language, but if

  734. you want to walk in blessing, you have

  735. to walk under the things of God. And

  736. when we choose to remove ourselves,

  737. it's not that God doesn't love and care

  738. and his grace and his mercy is not

  739. there, but we've given it away and all

  740. of a sudden we're doing our own thing.

  741. And church, we look different. We act

  742. different. We talk different. We deal

  743. with problems different when we're over

  744. here and we're not in the blessing. And

  745. the words they would use, we literally

  746. have stepped into a curse because we've

  747. left the things of God. We've left the

  748. law. We left his truth. here in the New

  749. Testament, we've left his grace and

  750. mercy and we've just kind of said, "I'm

  751. going to do my own thing."

  752. And I like to think of it just in a real

  753. practical way that boy, when we are

  754. under the presence of Jesus, his word,

  755. when this becomes our covering,

  756. it's kind of like you could be outside

  757. in the pouring down rain. In fact, I

  758. think it was last Sunday morning, it was

  759. chilly, but not quite chilly enough to

  760. snow. And I walked over to the house

  761. before church and all of a sudden I

  762. looked outside and it was pouring and

  763. I'm like, "Oh no." And I had a gray suit

  764. on and like it gets water on it like you

  765. can see it. And I was like, "Oh boy."

  766. And you know what I did? I looked in the

  767. closet and thank the Lord someone had a

  768. an umbrella in our office closet. And I

  769. grabbed that thing and I walked over and

  770. I didn't get wet. My gray suit stayed

  771. gray. It didn't get all splotchy. I

  772. wasn't soaking wet. And it was an

  773. amazing thing as I I stood under that

  774. umbrella. And you know what? When we

  775. walk in the power and the word of God,

  776. no matter what's happening around us, no

  777. matter what it would do to us if we

  778. didn't have his word, it's just like an

  779. umbrella, his covering that protects us.

  780. And church today, it's a commitment to

  781. say, Lord,

  782. I give everything that I am to you. I

  783. offer it all. And I'm not perfect.

  784. Church, your pastor, I want you to hear

  785. again. I said something similar. I'm not

  786. perfect. I'll mess up. I'll do things.

  787. But my prayer is, Lord, in my

  788. imperfection, I want to be under your

  789. covering. And when I mess up, I want to

  790. ask for forgiveness. And when I do

  791. something I shouldn't, Lord, take that.

  792. If it's in my heart, give it. I give it

  793. to you. Lord, do what only you can do.

  794. And Lord, if I offend a brother or a

  795. sister, Lord, help me to repent

  796. internally and then help me to go and

  797. ask for forgiveness. Cuz we're not

  798. perfect. But something happens when the

  799. under the covering of God

  800. that all of a sudden I know Lord, you've

  801. spoken. You've moved and that wasn't the

  802. right thing to say and I can go and deal

  803. with it. But you know what? In my own

  804. sinful flesh and I think a bunch in the

  805. house when we're not under the blessing

  806. and the covering of God, I can do things

  807. and say things and behave in ways that

  808. have nothing to do with my walk with the

  809. Lord. And I don't even feel bad. I don't

  810. even realize

  811. because I'm not in a place where I'm

  812. letting him speak to my heart.

  813. And church, if as a church family, as an

  814. individual

  815. that you're sitting here today when we

  816. say, "Lord, I'm going to walk under the

  817. covenant, thankfully, a New Testament

  818. covenant. Jesus, your grace, your mercy.

  819. Lord, I want you to show me what it is

  820. in my heart to move forward. I don't

  821. want to get to a finish line and say,

  822. "I've made it. I don't want to get into

  823. a place of atrophy where my my muscles

  824. get weak because I'm no longer working

  825. them out." and my spiritual muscles and

  826. what I'm talking about. And I don't want

  827. to just sit, but I want to see the

  828. mission move because we are moving. I

  829. want to see the mission of God in your

  830. life move because you say, "Lord, I'm

  831. going to do it today at work and with my

  832. kids and with my family." And when we

  833. come together that we say, "Wow, the

  834. mission of God is moving." Because we

  835. might not always get it right. We might

  836. sometimes say things wrong. Even

  837. sometimes we might make the wrong

  838. decisions as leaders or as individuals,

  839. but we're united. And when we realize

  840. it, we're going to stand up, pick

  841. ourselves up. We're going to fix the

  842. problem. We're going to keep moving

  843. forward because we're saying, "Lord,

  844. anything that you have, that's what we

  845. desire.

  846. We're going to keep moving forward."

  847. worship team, if you would make your way

  848. back up here this morning.

  849. Rad fam, when we step forward in

  850. obedience, God will do what he promised

  851. because his word cannot

  852. fail.

  853. When we just follow him, his word will

  854. not fail. So when we follow his word, it

  855. will happen. What you're believing for,

  856. it will happen. His power will be made

  857. known in you. will be just moved through

  858. you because the word of God is all

  859. things. That's why we must know it. It's

  860. why we must have it in our hearts.

  861. The wall was finished, but the people

  862. kept moving forward. And this morning,

  863. we're going to take a few moments and

  864. with this one service, we're going to

  865. take maybe 10 more minutes today and

  866. we're going to sing a song. But my

  867. prayer, you don't even need to sing the

  868. song, the words, I don't care. But would

  869. you make this a moment of prayer? The

  870. altars are going to be open to come and

  871. to stand. The altars are going to be

  872. open to come and to kneel. Your seats

  873. right where you are to sit, to stand and

  874. ask him, Lord, am I moving forward in

  875. you? And how do you want me to move

  876. beyond the walls, beyond this place,

  877. beyond what we do together to say, Lord,

  878. move in my heart, move in my life.

  879. And maybe you feel like if you think

  880. through it and God would reveal to you

  881. that you've gotten to some finish line

  882. and you thought of that as the end, but

  883. instead today you realize, Lord, it's

  884. just the beginning. It's just the

  885. beginning. Maybe there's a comfort zone

  886. that needs to be killed in your life

  887. that you say, "No, I'm not going to be

  888. comfortable, but I'm going to keep

  889. pressing forward."

  890. And maybe you realize today, Lord, let

  891. that mission that you've given, let it

  892. move because I take the step that you've

  893. called me to. And that could be in lots

  894. of things. That could be in

  895. relationships. It could be in this your

  896. belief of the word. Maybe culture has

  897. gotten into your your worldview. And you

  898. say, "Lord, no. I know what the word

  899. says." And it's hard in 2026. But

  900. church, the word does not change. No

  901. matter what culture would say, no matter

  902. what family members are doing, no matter

  903. what people in high positions would say,

  904. the word of God wins. And if we get out

  905. of that, may we move to this comfort

  906. zone of culture. No, Lord, I won't. I'm

  907. going to stay in the truth of the word.

  908. And sometimes that might mean life's

  909. tough in certain ways, but the covering

  910. is going to be well worth it.

  911. Lord, whatever it would be today,

  912. if we could, if you're able this

  913. morning, could we just stand to our

  914. feet? And I want to speak just a word

  915. over us and then we're going to open our

  916. hearts and as I said come find a place

  917. make your seat a place of of prayer of

  918. worship. We're going to take 10 minutes

  919. and we're going to go and have lunch and

  920. talk about some specific things of

  921. vision. But today it's our heart that

  922. matters way more than anything else as

  923. Lord we commit. And I'm going to close

  924. today with a prayer of us as family the

  925. Rad fam. But first, I want us each

  926. individually to spend time, Lord, what

  927. are you saying? What are you doing? And

  928. this morning, if you do not have a

  929. relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord

  930. and Savior, all you have to do is ask

  931. him, Lord, forgive me of my sins. I

  932. believe, Jesus, that you died and you

  933. rose again, and I repent.

  934. You could finish that however you want.

  935. Say it however you want. I love you,

  936. Jesus. Be Lord of my life. He comes and

  937. he welcomes you. And the Bible says,

  938. "When one comes to know him, all of

  939. heaven rejoices." And today, I believe

  940. there's maybe a party because someone

  941. today needs Jesus.

  942. You can do that in the quiet of your

  943. heart.

  944. But right now, Lord, we are thankful.

  945. We're thankful because the word of the

  946. Lord has been spoken over this house. We

  947. will not stop where we are. We will not

  948. settle into comfort. We will not turn

  949. momentum into maintenance. by his word.

  950. Radfam, we will move beyond these walls.

  951. We declare that people will be reached

  952. because God said his word would run

  953. swiftly. We declare that lives will be

  954. changed because renewal always follows

  955. obedience. We declare that families will

  956. be restored and faith will rise because

  957. God honors covenant commitment. We

  958. declare that our city will feel the

  959. impact not because of our strength but

  960. because the hand of our God is upon us.

  961. Just as the enemies in Nehemiah

  962. recognize this work was done by God,

  963. Dublin will recognize that what is

  964. happening here is supernatural

  965. comes from above. This is not the end of

  966. the story. This is the evidence that God

  967. keeps his promises. So we say yes. Lord,

  968. we commit our hands and we move today in

  969. obedience. And even as we take these

  970. next several minutes as individuals,

  971. Lord, we come, we bring our lives to

  972. you. And we ask you, don't let us be

  973. comfortable. Don't let us stop where

  974. we've been, but Lord, let us step fully

  975. into the vision and the mission you have

  976. for us. We haven't hit the finish line,

  977. but we're just getting going. So today,

  978. would you speak? And Lord, would you

  979. reveal maybe in our hearts if there's an

  980. area of addiction or problem, maybe we

  981. don't even think of it as addiction, but

  982. it's something we need we have to have

  983. and it's above you today. Lord, would

  984. you reveal that to us and let us see it

  985. so we can lay it at your feet, Lord

  986. Jesus, where we need a touch in our

  987. bodies or our lives. Lord, let us

  988. believe your word and trust you with our

  989. life. You are higher. You are greater.

  990. You are better. Your plan is better. So

  991. Lord, we submit it to you today.

  992. Lord, be glorified in this room. And

  993. Lord, speak to your people. We turn this

  994. place into an altar, an altar to speak

  995. as you would desire today. We love you.

  996. We thank you, church. Make this place an

  997. altar. If you need to find a place, come

  998. to the front. I'll be up here. Come join

  999. me. We're going to go after Jesus. But

1000. let him speak to you. find a a moment to

1001. let his heart and your heart connect so

1002. that you can know what he's calling you

1003. to today. Let's go after Jesus.

1004. When I was lost and all alone, your

  1005. presence

1006. where I found home, you were there and

  1007. you're here right now.

1008. In every high and every low, you never

1009. left me without hope. You were good and

  1010. you're good right now.

  1011. I've witnessed your faithfulness.

  1012. I've seen you brea.

1013. So I pour out my praise again. You're

1014. worthy, God. You're worthy of all of it.

  1015. Your promises never fail.

1016. I've got stories I live to tell. So I

1017. pour on my praise again. You're worthy,

1018. God. You're worthy of all of it.

1019. You left the throne. You chose the

1020. cross. Laid down your life to rescue us.

1021. The Savior there and the Savior now.

1022. >> But even death was not the end. You

1023. conquered hell so I could live.

  1024. Resurrecting them. Resurrecting

  1025. now.

  1026. Resurrecting and resurrecting.

  1027. I witness your faithfulness.

  1028. I've seen you relight.

1029. So I pour on my praise.

1030. You're worthy. God, you're worthy of all

1031. of it. Your promise is never made.

1032. I've got stories I live to tell. So I

1033. pour out my praise and you're worthy,

1034. God. You're worthy of all of me.

  1035. Oh, you're worthy.

  1036. Oh, so worthy.

  1037. You're good and I've witnessed it.

  1038. You're strong and I've witnessed it.

  1039. You're constant. I've witnessed it and

  1040. I'm confident.

1041. I'll see it again and again. You love

1042. it. and I've witnessed it.

  1043. >> You're strong and I've witnessed it.

  1044. >> You're safe and I witnessed it and I'm

  1045. confident.

1046. >> I'll see it again and again.

  1047. >> You're good and I witnessed it.

  1048. You're strong and I witnessed it.

  1049. You're constant. I witnessed it and I'm

  1050. coming.

1051. I'll see it again and again. You're

  1052. loving. I witnessed it.

  1053. You're healing. I miss it.

  1054. You're serving. I witness it. And I'm

  1055. coming.

  1056. I'll see it again.

  1057. I witness your faithfulness.

1058. I see you bring life with me. So I pour

1059. out my praise against your wory

1060. of all of it. Your promises never.

1061. I've got stories I live to tell. So I

  1062. pour out my praise.

1063. You're worthy, God. worthy of

1064. to the broken. I witness it

  1065. to the broken I

  1066. to the lo

1067. and I'm telling this I'll tell them what

1068. I witness to the family. I witness it

1069. to the city. I witness it

1070. to the nations. telling it and I'm

  1071. telling this I'm telling what I

1072. so Lord this morning we're just thankful

1073. that we get to come before you. We've

1074. seen what you've done and that's just

1075. the starting line for what you're going

1076. to do. So Lord, I pray that today your

1077. people would walk in your grace and your

1078. mercy and your power. our team that's

1079. going overseas. Lord, bless them and use

1080. them. But Lord, don't let us look at

1081. them that are going. But Lord, let all

1082. of us this week go to the places that

1083. you've called us to to our schools, our

1084. workplaces, our communities, wherever it

1085. would be, Lord, and take the message of

1086. the gospel because we're going to take a

1087. step, Lord. I pray that even our vision

1088. meeting that we're about to have as a

1089. church family, Lord, I believe, our team

1090. believes, we believe as a church, you

1091. have great things that you're going to

1092. do. And we ask you, Jesus,

1093. to bind us together, to bind our hearts

1094. together, Lord, that we will move

1095. forward in you, Jesus, together and

1096. united. And because of that, truly,

1097. anything is possible with you. And when

1098. your church walks in unity and Lord, I

1099. pray today that those that there may be

1100. struggle or situation, even what the

1101. word would say, they haven't seen the

1102. healing, they haven't seen the touch,

1103. Lord, by your stripes, we're healed.

1104. Lord, you are the one that makes new.

1105. You are the one that brings the answer

1106. to today. We hold on to the word of God

  1107. in our lives.

1108. Lord, we we bind it to our hearts. We

1109. read it. We commit it. Lord Jesus, let

1110. us step into what you have. And Lord,

1111. where we need to rebuild some walls,

1112. Lord, I pray that you'd give strength

1113. and guidance. Lord, where we need to put

1114. things in place, Lord, help us to do

1115. that. And then, Lord, let us walk with

1116. boldness every step of the way. Lord, we

1117. love you. We praise you. I'm so thankful

1118. for this church, for this family, Lord,

1119. the Rad fam. Maybe not perfect, but

1120. Lord, we are united and we are together

1121. and we're believing for what you have,

1122. what you have next for us. We love you,

1123. Jesus. Lord, I pray you would bless each

1124. person today. Let us walk in you, walk

1125. in your power. Bless the next couple

1126. hours or hour and a half or whatever our

1127. vision meeting. And Lord, that it you

1128. would just be sweet and present in the

1129. in the food. Lord, bless the food. you'd

1130. be sweet and present in our time as we

1131. talk about where we're going and where

1132. we've been, Lord. Lord, would you be

1133. sweet and present in our conversations,

1134. Lord, we're so thankful. We love you. We

1135. glorify you. We give you all things

  1136. today.

1137. In your name we pray. Amen. And amen.

1138. Well, come on, church. Our God is great

  1139. today. He's great.

1140. And before we go anywhere, I want to

1141. give some quick instructions. First of

1142. all, we have our team life uh fair is

1143. kicking out there. We have our our tents

1144. up. And if you are not serving, there's

1145. something about being united, serving,

1146. going in the same direction. And we

1147. invite you talk to some different

1148. people, different areas. Talk to Liz or

1149. one of us. We'd love to connect with you

1150. at each one. And uh that we want to get

1151. you plugged in. We believe disciplehip,

1152. something about serving. But second here

1153. today, our vision meeting starts right

  1154. after this. It's 11:28. So we're going

1155. to open the doors down there at 11:38,

1156. 10 minutes from now. So hang out in the

1157. foyer, talk to somebody, meet somebody,

1158. greet somebody. We're going to turn on

1159. the lights back in here and then at

1160. 11:38 the doors will be open. You can go

1161. straight in, get food, uh sit down at

1162. the tables. This year, we're going to do

1163. something a little different. Once we

1164. are done eating, we're going to come

1165. back in here. The sound is better, the

1166. screens are better, all that kind of

1167. stuff. So, we're going to eat, then

1168. we're going to come back. So, in 10

1169. minutes, you can go ahead and get food.

1170. Uh straight to the lines, get your food.

1171. I just prayed for the food. Blessed it.

1172. And but of course, first of all, that 10

1173. minutes is so you can go get your kids.

1174. Very important. get your kids prior to

1175. that 10 minutes. So, uh we don't want to

1176. go take over the kids wing till they're

1177. all claimed. So, please go get your

1178. kids, but we love you. Have a great

1179. great Sunday and we'll see you.

1180. Hopefully, you can all stay for our

1181. vision meeting which starts in now 9

1182. minutes. Be careful what you watch. Be

1183. careful what you listen to. Be careful

1184. what you talk about. Savor the presence

1185. of Jesus. Have a great vision meeting.

  1186. I worry.
