  1. It is great to be here with everybody.

  2. WHAT A GROUP OF PEOPLE. One more time,

  3. kids. If you are excited for the egg

  4. hunt, can you let me hear you? I want to

  5. hear you today.

  6. >> Okay, we have some excited ones over

  7. here for sure. And we are going to have

  8. an amazing morning. But before we get

  9. out to that, we have some fun we're

  10. going to have in here. In fact, we've

  11. got our cross here. We have some ropes.

  12. And this morning, we're going to be

  13. using this. We're going to have a bunch

  14. of kids that are going to be a part of

  15. helping us tell the story this morning.

  16. and uh help us see about the amazing

  17. love of Jesus. In fact, we've been

  18. walking through the book of John and we

  19. believe the Bible, the inspired word of

  20. God, he left it for us that that gives

  21. us the guidance for life. It's our our

  22. guide book. It directs us. It tells us

  23. the way. And today we're going to be in

  24. John chapter 19, just at the beginning

    John 19 chapter mention

  25. of the New Testament, the fourth book of

  26. the New Testament, John chapter 19. And

    John 19 chapter mention

  27. we see the story begins of Jesus heading

  28. to the cross. and then what we're going

  29. to celebrate next week in resurrection

  30. Sunday when Jesus comes out of the

  31. grave. But today we're going to look

  32. specifically at how much Jesus loves us.

  33. In fact, he loves us this much. In fact,

  34. CAN YOU HELP ME OUT TODAY? Can you get

  35. your arms spread them as wide as you can

  36. say this much?

  37. >> Come on. That's how much Jesus loves us

  38. today. And maybe even more than we can

  39. stretch our w our hands wide. And that's

  40. what we're going to look at today in

  41. John chapter 19. We're going to see how

    John 19 chapter mention

  42. much he loved us. In fact, we're going

  43. to just dive in this morning. And number

  44. one, today, Jesus loved us enough to go

  45. first. Jesus came to the earth just like

  46. now. When people sin, they do things

  47. wrong. And let me make sin really easy.

  48. Sin is something that hurts you or it

  49. hurts somebody else. Something we do

  50. that hurts somebody else or hurts you.

  51. It sin is something that goes against

  52. the plan and the will of our God. And

  53. Jesus, he came to earth to live a

  54. sinless, perfect life that when he gets

  55. to John chapter 19, he's laid out the

    John 19 chapter mention

  56. plan. He's laid out who he is. He's laid

  57. out God the Father. In fact, the word

  58. says that when we see Jesus, we see the

  59. Father. And now we have his word to see

  60. the Father. We get to see God

  61. >> through Jesus because Jesus is God. And

  62. here he's been given over to the the the

  63. religious leaders or now to the the the

  64. Romans. and he's about to be crucified.

  65. And in John 19:1 16 it says, "So he

    John 19:1

  66. delivered him over to them to be

  67. crucified." So they took Jesus and he

  68. went out bearing his own cross to the

  69. place called the place of the skull

  70. which in Aramaic is called Galtha.

  71. Now I just want to just just for a

  72. moment uh on Friday actually I was

  73. looking for this cross right here

  74. because I wanted to use it today and I

  75. found it up in the garage. Now, there's

  76. choices you have when you see stuff, you

  77. find stuff. And my thought is, am I

  78. going to go get a vehicle to transport

  79. the cross in, or am I just going to

  80. carry the cross? And I decided it would

  81. take way too long. So, I just thought,

  82. I'm just going to put it on my back and

  83. carry it over here. I want you to know

  84. something. It started not that heavy.

  85. But by the time I got from the front,

  86. the office, the gray house, all the way

  87. around and brought it in here, Pastor

  88. Dave, I I still I think I'm paying for

  89. that choice. But I want you to think

  90. about Jesus because right before this,

  91. he's been flogged. His back doesn't look

  92. like mine. It was it was it was bloody,

  93. let's just say. And he's carrying this

  94. cross. He does it for us. He does it for

  95. us today. He went first to lay his life

  96. down so that we could have life. We're

  97. going to talk about it. But his love is

  98. so big. It's so powerful. In fact, kids

  99. today, can you can you act kind of like

  100. me? Can you hold up something heavy? I'd

  101. like you're holding up something HEAVY

  102. TODAY. OH YEAH. THAT'S WHAT HE DID. HE

  103. HELD UP THAT CROSS. But we're going to

  104. see he didn't only hold up a cross. He

  105. didn't only go to a cross, but he held

  106. us. His love is so big. In fact, help me

  107. one more time. HELP ME OUT. HIS LOVE IS

  108. SO BIG. HOW BIG? THIS BIG TODAY. BUT,

  109. you know, I think it's even bigger than

  110. that. In fact, I have some helpers that

  111. they're going to come up here that have

  112. been selected. Come on up here. If

  113. you've been selected, not not the

  114. papers, uh, the other things today. Yep.

  115. Come on. We're going to get to the

  116. papers here in a few moments. But Jesus

  117. love, it is bigger than even what we get

  118. here. Liz, Nate, come on over here.

  119. Let's let's see. Let's start to expand

  120. the love of Jesus.

  121. He's so good. And you know, while

  122. they're doing this, he didn't come

  123. because the world got better. He didn't

  124. come because everything was good. He

  125. didn't come because you or I had it all

  126. figured out. No, not at all. He came

  127. while we were still sinners. He came

  128. while we're still in doing the wrong

  129. things and going the wrong way. But he

  130. still said, "I am going to give my life

  131. for them." He stepped forward and his

  132. love got bigger. We could see his his

  133. love for the world. Now, if you have the

  134. red papers today, can you bring those on

  135. up here, kid? If you have the red

  136. papers, we're going to see some things

  137. or pink, excuse me. I'm told they're

  138. pink this morning. The pink papers are

  139. coming forward. And these have some

  140. things that he took on himself that he

  141. took and says, "My love covers them. My

  142. love takes care of you. My love takes

  143. your mistakes. It takes your mess ups.

  144. It takes our bad choices. It takes these

  145. hurt feelings. Anybody ever had one of

  146. these things in your life that you

  147. needed somebody to help you out with

  148. that you needed the strength of God? And

  149. that's what we have today. Messups and

  150. mistakes and hurt feelings and bad

  151. choices. His love is big enough. His

  152. love is strong enough. Can you help me

  153. again? How big IS HIS LOVE? THIS BIG.

  154. WOW. IT'S HUGE. But it's even getting

  155. larger today. He went first.

  156. As we continue on, another thought that

  157. just came out in verse 18 is Jesus loved

  158. us enough to carry our hurt. Said there

  159. they crucified him and with two others,

  160. one on either side and Jesus between

  161. them. And even in this moment, even when

  162. they had given he had given themselves,

  163. he was on the cross. There's these two

  164. other guys that are next to him. And the

  165. Bible says that one reached out and

  166. said, "I've messed up, but you are the

  167. Christ. You're the son of God." And

  168. Jesus said, "Even today, you'll be with

  169. me in paradise. Even in the midst of

  170. pain and suffering, he reached down and

  171. said, "I'll take care of your hurt. I'll

  172. take care of your pain. I'll take care

  173. of what you've done." But Jesus went to

  174. the cross because of the good things he

  175. did. These people were there because of

  176. evil and terrible and horrible things.

  177. And church, I want you to know that

  178. Jesus carries our hurts. He carries our

  179. feelings. He carries our fears. He

  180. carries our pain.

  181. Maybe recently with some of these

  182. storms, kids, maybe it's like, "Oh, the

  183. thunder. It's been so loud. Maybe

  184. there's been fear. There's other areas

  185. of our life. Today, he takes all of that

  186. and says, "I have it. I've got you." In

  187. fact, his love we see is this big, but

  188. this isn't it. It gets bigger. So, let's

  189. let's keep expanding his love today. And

  190. while we do, if you have a blue paper,

  191. would you come on up here as we see what

  192. does God do? What's his love? How does

  193. he move? How does he show himself?

  194. As we continue this morning, we see that

  195. he's here. And you know what? He loves

  196. us when people are mean. He loves us

  197. when friendships break and things don't

  198. go like we want. He loves us when

  199. families struggle and life is difficult.

  200. Church, he loves you so much. He loves

  201. you when you feel lonely. And all of a

  202. sudden, the love of Jesus gets longer.

  203. It gets wider. It gets stronger. The

  204. power of God is great and mighty. And he

  205. gets it just carries more. He carried

  206. it. Whatever it is today, he carried it

  207. for you. And if you're here today and

  208. you say, "I need Jesus to carry it." He

  209. has you and he loves you and he wants

  210. the best for you. In fact, could you say

  211. with me? Could you say he carried it?

  212. One, two, three. He carried it. Whatever

  213. it is, he's got you. He has what you

  214. need today. The power of God, the

  215. goodness of God, the grace of God in our

  216. life. Jesus loved enough to go first. He

  217. loved enough to carry our hurt. And

  218. third, today Jesus loved us enough to

  219. never let go. To never let go.

  220. I find this to be amazing. As we just go

  221. few forward just a few verses in verse

  222. 25 through 27 it says but standing by

  223. the cross of Jesus were his mother and

  224. his mother's sister Mary the wife of

  225. Clus and Mary Magdalene when Jesus saw

  226. his mother and the disciple whom he

  227. loved standing nearby he said to his

  228. mother but woman behold your son then he

  229. said to the disciple behold your mother

  230. and from that hour the disciple took her

  231. to his home. And why DOES THIS JUST JUMP

  232. out at me? Jesus is on the cross. Jesus

  233. is welcoming sinners even that are on

  234. crosses next to him. But Jesus sees his

  235. mother and says, "I'm going to take care

  236. of you even in the last moments that I'm

  237. alive before coming back to life, before

  238. resurrection."

  239. He says, "I see my mother." And I feel

  240. like there's people today that maybe you

  241. feel like you've done things or you feel

  242. like there's been problems. you feel

  243. like, "Wow, the Lord, I I don't know

  244. that I could even hold on to him or or

  245. the things of my life. It seems like

  246. it's too late." But even while Jesus was

  247. on the cross, he said, "I'm going to be

  248. sure my mom's taken care of." And I want

  249. you to know today that the God of the

  250. universe loves you so much and cares for

  251. you so much and has the best things for

  252. you that he is not going to let you go.

  253. Even when he was hurting and tired, even

  254. when he was in pain, even when those

  255. things happened, he stretched his love

  256. and said, "I've got you your problems.

  257. I've got you the good things. I've got

  258. you the worst moment of your life. I've

  259. got you and I love you and I'm not going

  260. to let you go." And someone needs to

  261. hear today that God's not mad at you.

  262. God actually died for you. Jesus went to

  263. the cross for you. Is the best for you.

  264. And don't let anybody tell you anything

  265. else besides what his word would say.

  266. And he loves you. That even while we

  267. were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  268. The word says, how amazing. He died for

  269. us even in our sin. And today, I think

  270. there's even more stretch that can

  271. happen today. So, let's let's expand

  272. this. Let's do it one more time. We're

  273. going to KEEP MOVING THIS OUT BECAUSE

  274. HIS love is so good. It's so big. It's

  275. so powerful today. He has you. And in

  276. fact, if you have a yellow piece of

  277. paper out there, come on up here. If you

  278. have a yellow piece of paper, what other

  279. things does he carry does he hold? Maybe

  280. you could think relationship problems.

  281. Anybody ever had a relationship problem

  282. or a friend that all of a sudden there

  283. was a problem, a fight? Absolutely.

  284. Hard days.

  285. I know I don't have hard days. Okay,

  286. maybe I do. Family members are in the

  287. room. I have hard days. You have hard

  288. days. He takes them. He holds them. You

  289. know what? We've talked about when we

  290. mess up, but you know what? When we mess

  291. up, even again, he still holds us and he

  292. loves us and he has you. He He wants the

  293. best for you.

  294. When you feel like you're not enough, I

  295. want you to hear today, he loves you and

  296. he's got you and he's not going to let

  297. you go. He's the God that cares, the God

  298. that loves, and he just opens his arms

  299. to you and to me today. He never stops

  300. loving. In fact, could you say that with

  301. me? Never stops loving. Here we go.

  302. Never stops loving. That is who our God

  303. is. And one last thing and one last

  304. moment. In fact, I think there's MORE

  305. ROPE. LET'S LET'S GET ALL THE WAY. LET'S

  306. DO IT. HOW BIG IS HIS LOVE TODAY? The

  307. love of God is massive. It stretches all

  308. the way out. In fact, Jesus doesn't only

  309. want to meet us at church on a Palm

  310. Sunday or an Easter Sunday or a special

  311. moment or just at church any week, but

  312. he wants his love to go outside to get

  313. outside of the walls. And today, we can

  314. see the love of Jesus even stretches

  315. where we can't even see. It gets outside

  316. of the building, outside of the walls

  317. because he's so good. And if you have a

  318. green piece of paper, come on up here.

  319. run on up here if you have a green piece

  320. of paper cuz we see that his love

  321. reaches all the way to families. It

  322. reaches all the way to our neighbors,

  323. people that live near us. It reaches to

  324. our friends, maybe friends that you're

  325. here today with somebody. His love is

  326. big enough to carry and to hold you

  327. today. But you know, one that is maybe a

  328. little bit interesting that you don't

  329. always think about is his love is big

  330. enough for even people we struggle with

  331. or people we might call or think of even

  332. as enemies. In fact, I think someone

  333. needs to hear this today. Someone might

  334. have believed a lie that's not the word

  335. that you are an enemy of God. But his

  336. love is so big that he carries and holds

  337. even those people that we might look at

  338. as enemies or when we feel like it. No,

  339. HE WELCOMES US. HE welcomes all people,

  340. friends and family, neighbors, even

  341. those that are difficult that we don't

  342. understand. Jesus loves me. He loves

  343. you. There's not a person he didn't die

  344. on the cross for. And we get to

  345. experience the power and the love of our

  346. God. And today, as we think about and we

  347. we plan and we experience his love

  348. today, we get to love him because he

  349. first loved us. Can we say it one more?

  350. How much does Jesus love us? This much.

  351. So much. AND LOOK AT IT. IT JUST GETS

  352. CRAZY. The love of Jesus that extends

  353. and goes on and on and on. And today,

  354. church, before we go out, before we go

  355. to a an egg hunt, before we have that

  356. fun, it's going to be great and I can't

  357. wait for it. We have the opportunity to

  358. receive his love. We have the

  359. opportunity to say, "Wow, look at all

  360. that he can take. Look at all that he

  361. can hold. Look at all that he's got.

  362. HE'S HOLDING THE THE WEIGHT of the

  363. world, the sin of the world. He loves

  364. you so much, church. And he loves you

  365. enough to take you and to say, I want

  366. you to be my son or my daughter. I want

  367. you to be a part of the family at

  368. Radiant Life. That's what we are all

  369. about. One more for Jesus. And today, we

  370. want to give the opportunity for the

  371. love of Jesus to reach you just like he

  372. has reached so many of us. When we look

  373. at the Bible, we see in the book of

  374. Romans, it says that all have sinned and

  375. fallen short of God. Because the wages

  376. of sin is death, the things that we've

  377. done against someone else or our

  378. yourself. But God didn't leave us there.

  379. He sent Jesus to take all of those

  380. things, to hold all of those things. And

  381. I want you to know, he paid your debt.

  382. He paid for it. He gave it his life for

  383. you so you can have eternal life with

  384. him. And you know today we can never be

  385. good enough. We can't do it on our own.

  386. We can only do it through the power of

  387. Jesus, the blood of the lamb, who he is.

  388. And that's what Easter, that's what Palm

  389. Sunday and Good Friday, that's what it's

  390. all about. Jesus coming so that we can

  391. have life so we can have relationship

  392. with him. He conquered the grave for

  393. you. And you might come into this room

  394. today and you might be hurt. You might

  395. come into this room today because of

  396. what someone did. Or maybe even you were

  397. the one that did the hurting today.

  398. You're the one that caused a problem.

  399. Well, Jesus, he welcomes you no matter

  400. what. And says, "I love you. I care for

  401. you. And I want to hold all of the

  402. things. I want to hold our sin and our

  403. problems and our pain. I want to take

  404. them upon myself." And today, all we

  405. have to do is say yes to Jesus. And in

  406. fact, I'm going to ask our ushers to

  407. come forward right now. They're going to

  408. come to the front. And if you say, "I

  409. want more information. I want

  410. relationship with Jesus. I want to know

  411. more about him. You want something, one

  412. of these things. You want him to take

  413. that from you that you walk with him and

  414. you give him your life right now. Would

  415. you just lift your hand from the

  416. youngest kid to the most seasoned adult?

  417. If you say, "That's me." Yeah. All over

  418. this room, if you say, "I want Jesus."

  419. Let's hand those books out. Let's let's

  420. believe God. He's got what you need. He

  421. has the answer. He is our savior today.

  422. And he's got you today, church. All over

  423. this room. Yes. All over this room, keep

  424. those hands up. Keep those hands up

  425. today. If you say, "I want Jesus. I want

  426. information about who he is." That is

  427. the 100% reason why we are here today.

  428. That's why we get to celebrate. That's

  429. why we have an egg hunt because we want

  430. to say yes to Jesus. We don't want to

  431. miss anybody. Anybody else? A hand. Hey,

  432. right up here in the front. Connie.

  433. Connie or Melissa? Right up here in the

  434. front. Yeah. Anybody else? We don't want

  435. to miss anybody. This is the most

  436. important thing we can do.

  437. And we're going to sing one more song

  438. and we're going to do egg hunts, but

  439. saying yes to Jesus. That's what it's

  440. all about. Any other hands in the room

  441. back there? Yep. Perfect. You guys are

  442. amazing. This is exciting. It's

  443. exciting. It's exciting.

  444. Well, let's if we could today, could we

  445. just stand if you're able? We're going

  446. to stand. We're going to get ready for

  447. worship, but we're going to pray

  448. together and in reverence to Jesus. And

  449. if you just said, "I want to know

  450. Jesus." If you would repeat after me,

  451. you're going to join a whole chorus of

  452. others that we're going to all repeat

  453. this together and say yes to Jesus

  454. today. But if this is your first time or

  455. you're rededicating your life, he

  456. welcomes you as a son or daughter and

  457. you're not alone anymore, but you've got

  458. the power of Jesus and his love that

  459. covers you today. If you would church,

  460. let's repeat after me this morning.

  461. Jesus,
