  1. Hey guys and welcome back to the podcast I am

  2. again joined by my lovely wife Say hello to everybody.

  3. We're going to jump back into Why God Part 3.

  4. How she taught this in 30 to 40 minutes I'll

  5. never know because we've had probably two -hour

  6. conversation already and this I would guarantee

  7. this is another hour conversation if it goes

  8. based off how it typically goes but I'm going

  9. to jump back into hopefully the final parts and

  10. final pieces of your message of your teaching

  11. and let's start I'll be honest I don't remember

  12. where we ended up after the last one but I'm

  13. reading through the notes and I think I'm about

  14. right so let's start huh and let's start with

  15. Thinking about why God you have in here about

  16. when family and friends and really people in

  17. general Let us down One I think we put too much

  18. hope and That sounds bad to say but hope and

  19. trust in people And we've kind of put And I know

  20. we've said this plenty of times, we kind of put

  21. leaders and pastors and stuff on pedestals as

  22. if they're not human beings too and are subject

  23. to the same things you and I face. And so there's

  24. times they leave, they use you, and then unfortunately

  25. even in ministry they use you and then they dump

  26. you. And so you wrote in here, where's our fire

  27. and passion and confidence? for the one who always

  28. remains and When you really think about that

  29. that goes straight back into why we would choose

  30. God Because he chooses To remain No matter he's

  31. the one that always even you know situations

  32. in their lives where Something happened you get

  33. in trouble when you're a kid what happens your

  34. friends scatter because they don't want to get

  35. in trouble, too You know in adulthood, maybe

  36. you mess up. Maybe you do something You know

  37. you lose friends that way they just don't want

  38. to stick around for a healing process or You

  39. know they were only in it to begin with to get

  40. something out of You know what you could bring

  41. to the table not necessarily a true relationship

  42. and But we you know a lot of times we get more

  43. upset Because they those people leave right and

  44. we put our faith in our trust and our Hope our

  45. confidence in these people and they break our

  46. heart Yes, but we if you look at when we were

  47. you know when you were friends or You would you

  48. would fight to the death for those people you

  49. know you would protect those people you would

  50. do anything you could for them yes, and More

  51. times than not do we really have that same? Concept

  52. and do we have that same passion for God? When

  53. even when those people who you thought or your

  54. friends even family yeah that we He is the one

  55. that remains, but yet We are more hurt By people

  56. who leave us in reality If you look at it on

  57. the flip side, we do the same thing to God. 100%,

  58. yeah. And you know, when you talk like that,

  59. sometimes I guess my question and my wonder is,

  60. do we not know how to walk with people through

  61. difficult situations? I don't think we honestly

  62. do. I think partially because You're kind of

  63. taught that it will it's like an unspoken teaching

  64. That the mess is too messy You're not allowed

  65. to be messy once you get saved You shouldn't

  66. have messes Right But in all reality it's opposite.

  67. It's like Sometimes we go we go to church and

  68. that's supposed to be the place we can take the

  69. mask off and Be your real self But we we put

  70. the mask on when we go to church and to me to

  71. me I guess we feel like we do it backwards We

  72. take the mask off when we leave church and put

  73. the mask on inch Because It shouldn't make any

  74. sense, but then again it does because we've created

  75. this culture in so many churches that if I If

  76. I open up and become vulnerable to you, how many

  77. people are you going to run entail? Or how many

  78. social media platforms is my name going to be

  79. drug through? Because I allowed myself to be

  80. open and to be honest. And I think if you couple

  81. that along with the world that we live in with

  82. the phones and how everything is so instant a

  83. healing process is not instant a Healing process

  84. takes days weeks sometimes months sometimes a

  85. year or two That I mean, I guess it just depends

  86. on your walk with God how much you submit to

  87. Holy Spirit his Lordship to walk you through

  88. things But it's not a microwave process. I Mean

  89. some some I feel like can try to make it become

  90. that But if you don't actually allow Holy Spirit

  91. in to walk you through some of this stuff You're

  92. gonna be back in the same mess eventually It

  93. becomes a vicious cycle Yeah, because nothing

  94. ever gets truly addressed and healed in your

  95. life. So you just keep putting on and taking

  96. off the mask And nothing ever gets done about

  97. it, when in reality the church is supposed to

  98. be the people that can help you destroy the mask.

  99. And destroy the shame that comes with it. Now,

  100. the church doesn't destroy it. God does. They

  101. should be there to walk alongside you. They should

  102. realize how much they needed God so there shouldn't

  103. be a physical Judgment on other people that need

  104. it and sometimes I wonder and I could be completely

  105. off base But sometimes I wonder if it's easier

  106. To point the finger at you so to speak so you

  107. don't see my miss. Oh, yeah And so let me make

  108. everybody pay attention to your you and your

  109. issues so they can't see mine and unfortunately

  110. all it does is create walls 100 % yeah for people

  111. and excuses for people not to want to have anything

  112. to do with God because all those church people

  113. man they they're just as bad as everybody else

  114. actually you know Some people may look at it

  115. and be You know, have you ever heard that the

  116. saying, you know It's easier to talk to a stranger

  117. about your problems than it is somebody, you

  118. know Yes And it really is sometimes yes Because

  119. oftentimes that stranger doesn't know you doesn't

  120. know anything about you. So there's no judgment.

  121. I even heard it It may have been when I was taking

  122. classes at Liberty. I don't 100 % remember where

  123. I heard it from but that it was easier for A

  124. Christian for example to go to counseling to

  125. not to a non -christian counselor Because they

  126. didn't have anything removed all the basis and

  127. stuff and actually talk to you like a human being

  128. Yes, and At first, when I heard that, I'm like,

  129. why would you do that? And then when I think

  130. about it, just because of what we're exposed

  131. to in even the church, and this is not to beat

  132. up the church, but what we're exposed to in the

  133. church room, it makes sense. Because you've got

  134. some circles that everything's a demon, and that's

  135. not the case. But you take this whole concept

  136. of people leaving, people walking away during

  137. difficult times, and we put that same, we cast

  138. that same thing onto God as if He's going to

  139. do that. And so to not get hurt, we walk away

  140. first. And then God's left there. I think you

  141. put it in your thing. You know God is often left

  142. holding the bag for us. Yeah, we run to him when

  143. things go wrong and then just leave him holding

  144. the bag of all the messed up broken pieces Yeah,

  145. and not that he's not glad to do it, but you

  146. you look at our perspective You know if you have

  147. siblings or even in your job at work If they

  148. did something but you get the blame for it so

  149. you're left holding this big mess And even though

  150. you didn't do anything, you're the fall person.

  151. Exactly. And a lot of times, that's how we leave

  152. God. God comes to our rescue to pick up those

  153. pieces. And then once we feel a little bit better

  154. about it, because you know, God's got the pieces

  155. now, we're just like, OK, God, I'll see you the

  156. next time I run into you, or the next time I

  157. need something, I'll let you know. Or when I'm

  158. ready to put those pieces back together, I'll

  159. be back. It's almost like we treat him like a

  160. mechanic. Next time we break down, we'll bring

  161. the car back. And we'll just keep going through

  162. the cycle instead of actually walking with him

  163. consistently and constantly. And I think that's

  164. what a lot of people do. Well, kind of sidestepping,

  165. but when you talk about people getting healed

  166. and the healing process, I think we delay our

  167. own healing process because that's what we do.

  168. That's good. We give God the pieces, but yet

  169. we're not quite ready for him to fix them. We

  170. just want him to hold them so they're not quite

  171. so heavy for us. And in the back of our minds,

  172. we know, OK, God, I know you've got this. But

  173. I'm not quite ready to put it all back together

  174. yet because I'm still holding on to the hurt

  175. part of it, OK? So I need some time. And the

  176. fascinating thing is he does it. He does. Like,

  177. he'll hold that bag for you as long and sit like

  178. a good father and be like, OK, when you're ready

  179. to come do this, we'll talk again. I mean, he

  180. doesn't push you away. I mean, he's good. I don't

  181. know how else to say that. Like, he's good. His

  182. thoughts toward us are good. And he's not going

  183. to do anything to hurt us. He's going to if you

  184. need if you feel like you need and I guess I'd

  185. look at it even with my own kids If you need

  186. to go have that space and you do whatever you

  187. feel like you need to do. That's fine. I'll be

  188. right here I'll hold this bag and what You know,

  189. I've even told some of our teenagers this that

  190. you know, they've expressed that they've been

  191. through some hard things I mean, let's face it

  192. This generation that we have are dealing with

  193. things that we did not have to do with growing

  194. up And and you hear the question a lot from young

  195. people of where was God when? All this mess was

  196. happening with me and I've told some of our teenagers,

  197. you know where he was It did you put your little

  198. thing in there They're asked, you know, where

  199. was God in the middle of all this? Why did he

  200. leave me? And my answer to them is he he was

  201. there with you When you hurt he hurt He doesn't

  202. just this is how I picture it. He doesn't just

  203. leave the bag and just Let you do your thing

  204. and not have any concern about you I think he's

  205. still like a good father would be if you need

  206. your space from me, that's fine. But I'm still

  207. going to be consistently watching you. Consistently

  208. trying to defend you. Well, even when our kids

  209. are learning new things, you know, they'll say,

  210. let me try this on my own. Doesn't mean you leave

  211. them there. It just means you're watching them.

  212. It's just kind of step back. Yeah, the teaching

  213. moment. It's a moment to see, OK, well, you see

  214. if you can handle it. Yep, if you can if you're

  215. ready for that, you know and then but in in the

  216. end You're still standing right behind them waiting

  217. If they need you you're right there And so like

  218. I like how you ask Where is the deeper relationship

  219. with the only one who stayed who protects and

  220. loves us better than anyone else could I mean,

  221. you just think about the concept of he knows

  222. the number of hairs on our head. I mean, how

  223. detailed that would be. I mean, you even think

  224. just how detailed the human body is that he created

  225. for the blood to flow through these certain amount

  226. of veins. complex the body your heart pumps without

  227. with what what does it what makes your heart

  228. pump yeah I mean last I checked there's no double

  229. -a batteries going in it's just fascinating of

  230. the complexities that he instilled in us when

  231. he created them and I even googled it one day

  232. and I think it was like the number of hairs on

  233. your head, the average person can have anywhere

  234. from 90 ,000 to 150 ,000 hairs on their head.

  235. And he knows when you lose one. I mean, and I

  236. feel for you ladies in the shower, because there's

  237. always hairs in the shower for some unknown reason.

  238. And the fact that he knows when you lose each

  239. one of those, or when my son Grads my beard and

  240. I see a beard hair leave with his fingers He

  241. knows when that leaves he knows how many I've

  242. lost throughout the day But it's like I don't

  243. I don't remember that night how far you got in

  244. your notes because I don't care who's teaching

  245. it never feels like we get through the notes

  246. But you have written down our Are you ready to

  247. go further with them and to find your why God

  248. answered? Yeah, I think it's very important for

  249. them to know that at this age because I don't

  250. think I could honestly say that I knew that at

  251. that age that they were. And, you know, I know

  252. we've said it to each other. We want them to

  253. go so much further, sooner than what we did.

  254. And I think that's any good leader, good parent

  255. That's what they want. There's times I feel like

  256. people, and I'll just use me as an example, there's

  257. times I feel like people think that I'm disrespectful

  258. to the church or whatever because I disagree

  259. with a lot of things happening and said in churches,

  260. most churches now. And it's not that I'm trying

  261. to say anything negative because I honor how

  262. far they got us. and they got us so far and then

  263. passed the shovel and now we keep digging and

  264. we keep plowing. Well I think you also have to

  265. take into account now versus back then you didn't

  266. have a bunch of disgruntled people that would

  267. leave a church and then go start their own. Oh

  268. that's true too yes. So I think you also have

  269. to take into account People who have started

  270. churches that were never called to start churches

  271. that too. Yeah, and when you're not called to

  272. something you're probably not Let's just say

  273. doing it to the best of the kingdom's ability.

  274. Yeah I mean look at how many churches there are

  275. on one city block. It's just I mean They're everywhere.

  276. Well, not just that, but you take the small city

  277. where our church is at, and where me and our

  278. pastor took and counted how many churches, and

  279. we probably missed some that you could get to

  280. in five minutes. And I know, if I had to think

  281. back, there's at least 20 churches. But here's

  282. my question, is you have that many churches,

  283. but what is the church doing for the community?

  284. Because you don't see an impact there And I okay,

  285. let's take it a step further this we're recording

  286. this on June 16th We just had no Kings Day on

  287. the 14th. We've been having all these writing

  288. and protesting If I'm going here, so it'd be

  289. fun You can turn the podcast off if you don't

  290. like what I say. That's totally fine. You're

  291. prerogative. But here's my issue is all these

  292. things are happening across the nation. But where

  293. are the churches in these moments rising up and

  294. loving the people and getting involved in the

  295. communities that help some of this? It's like

  296. we just shut ourselves in and we're waiting for

  297. a rapture to take place. Right. I also feel like

  298. you can't expect the church to create unity in

  299. their community when there's no unity in the

  300. church? Well, I didn't say that. That was my

  301. wife. I'll let her drop that mic. Not literally.

  302. Please don't drop the mic. Well, I mean, it's

  303. true. But that's very true. I mean, you've got,

  304. OK, and not to just joke, because I know there's

  305. so many different denominations out there. while

  306. each of them you know have all of their point

  307. and to the heart of it most of them are the same

  308. at the root at the root but you get so caught

  309. up in the how to do it or how you do this how

  310. you do that that there's no you you can't even

  311. have a Like this does okay my question here.

  312. Let me let me just say this does Did the churches

  313. look like heaven? Well if you okay, so because

  314. are there denominations and well, that's what

  315. I was gonna say is denomination and that to me

  316. starts in division That's how and based off what

  317. I'm understanding is that's how denomination

  318. started was We disagreed on this and this so

  319. I'm gonna go start my own denomination over here,

  320. and you stay over here with yours It used to

  321. be that you could disagree on something yes talk

  322. about it agree to disagree Yeah, and you could

  323. still be friends you could still move on you

  324. could still do life together Didn't matter because

  325. you you know the other person's heart you know

  326. where they're coming from now oh no no no if

  327. you offend me like you're just written on blocks

  328. deleted from life you no longer matter because

  329. your belief system is different I mean doesn't

  330. matter if you believe that you should raise your

  331. hand during praise and worship or if you should

  332. keep it down by your side oh if there's a disagreement

  333. you know you're cut off and that's not how it

  334. should be at all It's either that or people coming

  335. at you and trying to tell you why you're wrong

  336. instead of listening. Yeah. Trying to see it

  337. from the other person's perspective. And I was

  338. working on one of the e -courses that I have

  339. to work on. I'm working on a six -week e -course

  340. on conflict. I'm just on week one and I was working

  341. on that some this afternoon and It's even This

  342. is this is where I think we are in the church

  343. kind of bounce off what you just said I Think

  344. we hear people But we don't listen We listen

  345. to reply that's good instead of listening to

  346. understand And I wonder if I can pull it up,

  347. because I want to read one of the things that

  348. I wrote down regarding that. Because ultimately,

  349. I mean, we're in this together. We're not here

  350. to fight each other. Exactly. But it said this.

  351. Here's one point. We all talk to each other,

  352. but we fail to listen to one another. And so

  353. I looked up the difference between hearing and

  354. listening. And while they're related words, obviously,

  355. hearing is more of a physiological act of perceiving

  356. sound, while listening is the conscious, active

  357. process of interpreting and understanding what

  358. is heard. So I think like what... What you said,

  359. I think we hear each other, but I think we listen

  360. to respond instead of listening to the other

  361. person's heart and listening to what they're

  362. saying. And there's a difference. Because sometimes

  363. I think I have the anointing to offend people.

  364. And it's just I don't think people hear my heart

  365. and things. Sometimes when you're passionate

  366. about something, your tone comes off different.

  367. But there's just because you're passionate about

  368. it. There's no need to bring anger into a conversation

  369. about something where we're all trying to get

  370. to go together. Yes. I mean, I'm sure, 100 %

  371. sure, nobody has all the answers. 100%. It's

  372. like I said in my last devotional, I think I

  373. even wrote in the front that I was not really

  374. concerned about being right or wrong. I just

  375. want people to go on a journey. I want people,

  376. having grown up in church, I think we have this

  377. mentality, I don't know how we got here, we're

  378. on this rabbit trail, so just roll with it. I

  379. think growing up in church we've made it, and

  380. we may have talked about this in some of the

  381. other podcasts, but that we put pastors on the

  382. pedestal, and we have this belief that they need

  383. to hear God for us. instead of us hearing God

  384. for ourselves. One of the things I want for our

  385. teenagers and our kids is I don't need you to

  386. need me to hear God for you. They don't need

  387. to be reliant on you or us because of the fact

  388. we can't go everywhere with them to hand hold

  389. them. They have to be at some point strong enough

  390. in their belief, in their experience with God

  391. themselves, their own relationship. That's what

  392. brings you the confidence and the boldness when

  393. you can describe that yourself, when you have

  394. that experience and relationship with Him for

  395. yourself. You can't get through life running

  396. on someone else's relationship with God. You

  397. know, that's another reason, even while Wednesday

  398. night, so when we have youth services, if I can

  399. get another teenager to help pray for somebody,

  400. I'm going to. Either that, or yourself, or some

  401. of the other leaders, because I never want them

  402. to look at me and say that I'm the man of God

  403. for the hour and it needs to be me to do something.

  404. I don't need that. We all carry the same spirit

  405. in us. And anymore, we can't always go into their

  406. schools. Exactly. They need to have the confidence

  407. and be equipped enough to do this themselves.

  408. Yeah. And again, all this ties back into what

  409. you were talking about. This is why you need

  410. your own relationship. And I think basically

  411. what I was getting at is A lot of teenagers,

  412. a lot of people in general these days, they're

  413. basing their relationship off of the teachings

  414. they hear on Sundays and Wednesdays. But there's

  415. no relationship outside of the Bible stories

  416. that they read about. Exactly. That's all well

  417. and good that you know all of the Bible stories

  418. from when you were five, six years old and on

  419. up, and you can quote the stories, you can quote

  420. facts about it, but that's great. You know the

  421. Bible, but do you know God? Do you know Jesus

  422. personally? Even the stories that we read and

  423. were taught, if we don't go back and read them

  424. ourselves, we're missing a lot of context and

  425. a lot of stuff that wasn't taught on. Yeah, and

  426. I also, you know, when you think about it, And

  427. I know we've talked about it before, but this

  428. is why you can never judge someone by a different

  429. viewpoint. Exactly. Because every time you read

  430. the Bible, you can read the same scripture, just

  431. one verse. You could read it today, and then

  432. maybe a couple years you could come back, read

  433. that same exact verse, and take away something

  434. else. Totally different from that same verse

  435. because you've grown in your own relationship

  436. with God and he reveals another mystery to you

  437. he reveals another Another Viewpoint yes based

  438. on what you've been through what he can trust

  439. you with what he what he You know, he says seek

  440. me. Yeah, sometimes all he wants is effort. Yeah,

  441. and if you're not putting forth effort It would

  442. be like the guy who buried his treasure Why would

  443. he give you more if you don't do anything with

  444. what he's given you to begin with so true? and

  445. You said something it made me it made me think

  446. and was reminded Because we do have different

  447. lens and stuff and different that's why Sometimes

  448. you have to help me with some of this, but sometimes

  449. when I hear certain things I have to remember

  450. where this person came from and I can remember

  451. several years ago being in a church and the minister

  452. was the pastor was preaching there and I remember

  453. having a conversation with God because the stuff

  454. that he was preaching I have the Holy Spirit

  455. began to teach me something different and so

  456. I had the conversation I said I said I don't

  457. understand I said, I know what you've taught

  458. me. And I said, this goes against kind of what

  459. you've taught me. And again, and I feel like

  460. I need to say this in life, I don't mean anything

  461. in dishonor or disrespect. And I hope people

  462. that know me know that. But I had grown past

  463. what this was. This is just stuff that... And

  464. having been one that preaches, I think sometimes

  465. we can just regurgitate information and never

  466. really dive deep into it and speak on things

  467. that were really and truly ignorant of. And hold

  468. your thought, because let me finish mine. But

  469. when I had that was having a conversation, he

  470. said, son, it's just a different lens. And I

  471. was like, excuse me? And he reminded me of the

  472. glasses that we had as kids. where you could

  473. put them on and then everything was red or green

  474. or whatever that's what you saw and I even did

  475. it um at our the church we're at now I taught

  476. it one night and brought the glasses with me

  477. and I had different people put on different glasses

  478. and I held up a towel that was one color but

  479. everybody else that had glasses on saw it as

  480. a different color right was they wrong no no

  481. it was just their lens and until They're willing,

  482. and I think it has, we have to be willing as

  483. sons and daughters to do this. We have to be

  484. willing to allow Holy Spirit to adjust those

  485. limbs. They will keep that same viewpoint. That's

  486. why you need to learn to lose your critical perspective.

  487. Yes. That's why, again, when I wrote in the book,

  488. I don't really care. It's 30 days. I hope to

  489. make it 90, but it's 30 days currently. And I

  490. know it will mess with people. It's not going

  491. to be for the faint of heart. And this is not

  492. a book plug, but it's relative to what we're

  493. talking about. It's not for the faint of heart,

  494. because a lot of the stuff I wrote in this one

  495. was challenging for me to get. And then to write

  496. it and to... give a different perspective it's

  497. more to make people think to go study for yourself

  498. and I even put in the book I don't expect anyone

  499. to take that book and read it in 30 days I hope

  500. it takes all year or 30 years to read the book

  501. I just want people to go on the journey and quit

  502. worrying about if I'm right or wrong on this

  503. particular belief And just go for a walk. You

  504. have your own journey that Yahweh wants to have

  505. with you. Just like Adam and Eve. He wants to

  506. take you on a journey. Exactly. I think we get

  507. so caught up to it has to be right or wrong doctrine.

  508. And I personally, and I could be wrong here,

  509. but I personally believe That is not what it's

  510. about. I don't believe it is about right and

  511. wrong. When it comes to that. I think he just

  512. wants people to go on a walk with him. And if

  513. it's wrong, then he will teach you so. And here's

  514. the truth. It goes back to what you just said.

  515. You may find it to be right for you now. And

  516. a year down the road, it may become wrong to

  517. you. Because he takes you to another deeper level.

  518. Does that make sense? It does, because that was

  519. kind of what I was going to say earlier. Pastors,

  520. they have such a hard job in general. Yes, people

  521. put way too much pressure. But you also look

  522. at it as they have, on Sunday mornings, they

  523. have to prepare a sermon that's going to teach

  524. and encourage not only seasoned Christians or

  525. seasoned spiritual people, you know, seasoned

  526. in the faith. I'm trying to find the words. You

  527. know, seasoned in their walk, but they also have

  528. to have the same thing, be able to be, to make

  529. sense to new believers and people who may not

  530. even believe. So I think that's one of the hardest

  531. things you have to look at is because, you know,

  532. they may give you a verse and say it at face

  533. value and teach on it at face value for what

  534. the verse is biblically. But once you get into

  535. your alone time, in your private time with God,

  536. God reveals more of what it actually means. There's

  537. more to it than just base value. And that's to

  538. anything in life. Which is why if that's your

  539. only substance that you're feeding, it's like

  540. Paul says, I wanted to feed you meat, but you

  541. still need milk. And you can't go and expect

  542. the pastor to lay hands on you or pray for you,

  543. and you get a spiritual download from the pastor

  544. to where you're going to know. It just doesn't

  545. work that way. You have to have that encounter

  546. and that experience and relationship for yourself.

  547. And it's also to add to that, to help out pastors.

  548. And I think I may have said this at our church

  549. before. Their goal is, I guess it goes back,

  550. I think we put too much on pastors because we

  551. expect pastors to do it all. That's what they're

  552. called to do, right? Thank you. But really, if

  553. you go back and read the scripture, they're there

  554. for the equipping of the saints to allow the

  555. saints to do the work of the ministry. We think

  556. we just get to go and be a part of it, and our

  557. job's done. Because pastors are everywhere, and

  558. so everybody should hear the gospel, right? Yep.

  559. to detour back to the why God. I think about

  560. what you taught and then I think about the past

  561. couple Wednesdays where I know we had the one

  562. week we taught on worship. But both the Wednesdays

  563. after that I felt God speak to me about specific

  564. things that He wanted to do that night for the

  565. teenagers to break. And it goes back to something

  566. I even have told our teenagers that anytime God

  567. reveals something to me when I'm ministering,

  568. I know He's intending on healing it. And when

  569. you grab hold of that, that He cares enough to

  570. Because it's not and anybody who listening to

  571. this as there have been this position knows it's

  572. not comfortable Getting up in front of a group

  573. and you don't have any notes For what needs to

  574. happen that you are fully reliant on Holy Spirit,

  575. which I know you've told me before that that's

  576. a lot of times my best messages But that is so

  577. out of the comfort zone But it shouldn't be.

  578. It really shouldn't be. It should be like second

  579. nature. It should be second nature. And I'm honored

  580. in those moments. And I just have to rely and

  581. flow with however he gives it to me. And again,

  582. I can't be worried about whether I'm right or

  583. wrong. I just have to be obedient. I have to

  584. be obedient when I walk away that night. know

  585. and believe I did everything I felt like I was

  586. supposed to do and trust the results of the God.

  587. Yeah. You can remind me of that later. You can't

  588. dwell on if you, I mean, of course, you know,

  589. that was going to come back in and say, Oh, you

  590. didn't really hear that's when he plays mind

  591. games. Yeah. But you know what you heard, but

  592. you, you, you take that and to know that God

  593. would mess up. I'm just using me as an example.

  594. It could happen to anybody that he would be willing

  595. to mess me up in a way to Break something specifically

  596. as far as change your mind Yes That he would

  597. do all that to speak to if it's even just one

  598. teenager to break something off of them That

  599. should be, in my personal opinion, that should

  600. be enough for one to say, wow, that is why God.

  601. For one person. Or, you know, three teenagers.

  602. Just to know that he's concerned Yes, he's concerned

  603. by the multitudes or About the multitudes, but

  604. the concern he shows for just one That's like

  605. all day today I had Not all days, I'd be alive,

  606. but most of the day at work I had this song going

  607. repeat. You're worthy of it all. Because that's

  608. the truth. All this ties into that topic of why

  609. God, like this is why God for me, this is why

  610. He's worthy of it all to me. Because to understand

  611. and have the personal, you have to know and believe

  612. that yes, He's Creator, yes, He's God of everything,

  613. but He is so involved in just me and just you.

  614. He is so intimately and wants to be so intimately

  615. involved in our relationship that I can say I'm

  616. God's favorite. And that's what he wants for

  617. every single one of us. For anyone listening,

  618. he wants for you to be able to say that you're

  619. God's favorite. It's just like our kids. Sun's

  620. not old enough to know anything right now, but

  621. there's times I whisper to both my girls And

  622. I tell them that they're my favorite and both

  623. of them believe That they're my favorite and

  624. it depends on what day it is as to which one

  625. is right Anyhow that was the political answer

  626. right there But that's I mean I don't You know

  627. But if something just reminded me he won't Yeah,

  628. even though he already knows the end Yeah He

  629. already knows what you're gonna say what you're

  630. gonna do and yet it just It's like my mind can't

  631. even comprehend that He still gives you the freedom

  632. to say no and yet still pursue Yeah, whether

  633. you Choose or deny? It's like last Wednesday

  634. when I brought the prodigal Which the story is

  635. more about the father than the son, but when

  636. the son comes back He's been wallowing in a pig

  637. pen We don't know did he take a bath. I don't

  638. know and remembers first of all he remembers

  639. he had a place to go back to and His goal when

  640. he come back home was I can just be a servant.

  641. And I'll eat better than this, that's for sure.

  642. Because I remember the goodness of my father.

  643. But I'm no longer worried that he'd be called

  644. a son. And he's rehearsing this speech all the

  645. way home. And from my study and what I understand

  646. from the story, that culture, the dad could have...

  647. He yelled for the elders and had him stomp. For

  648. wasting it all and being disobedient and all

  649. this. But his father was watching for him. And

  650. when he sees his son come and he takes off running,

  651. which goes against that culture of that day.

  652. Goes and runs to that son and embraces him. And

  653. while the son's trying to do His speech about

  654. why He's no longer worthy. The Father doesn't

  655. want to hear about it. He doesn't care about

  656. what He wasted. Why? Because He has plenty more

  657. to give. So what you wasted it? I got more. I

  658. figured you would when I gave it to you. That

  659. just hit me. I mean... And then starts calling.

  660. He says, bring me the ring and the robe. We don't

  661. have time to get into all that. And of course,

  662. we know the story about the brother gets upset

  663. and offended by all this thing. But the goodness,

  664. because he remembered the goodness of his father.

  665. And though he counted himself out when he makes

  666. it to his dad. There's this embrace and I'm sure

  667. the status kissing him all over the face Because

  668. his son has returned Calling for the ring and

  669. the robe because my son who was dead is now alive

  670. He's all about the one he's all about the intimate

  671. wall The woman at the whale. He goes to a city

  672. to sit at a whale. This is Jesus we're talking

  673. about. And he does all that just to encounter

  674. one woman. Somebody that he should have never

  675. been seen with. Yeah. And it's countless stories

  676. in the Gospel, whether it's the one woman. at

  677. the well, or the one man who's naked in the graveyard,

  678. or the one son as the prodigal, the one leper

  679. that he touches that he should never put his

  680. hands on. It's all about the one. And if we grab

  681. hold of that, it's why he's worthy of it all.

  682. It goes back to the story I told, I think, two

  683. Wednesdays ago about the woman who broke the

  684. box. And they were complaining how much she wasted.

  685. And they were right of the value of the perfume,

  686. but they was not right about the value of the

  687. one she was pouring it on. They just saw the

  688. perfume for what it was worth, but didn't take

  689. into account who it was being poured on. What

  690. was on the inside of them. And I think it messes

  691. with me because I know what it is to be that

  692. one. The one that people could say he wasted

  693. it all on him. And yet in return, my response

  694. is, I'll waste it all back to him. I don't know

  695. if that even made sense. He wasted all on us,

  696. and only asked for us to waste it all back to

  697. him. to have kind of this back and forth thing

  698. that he gives us all and then we give him all.

  699. we bring you this commercial break I have to

  700. really focus and I used to never be like this

  701. but I really have to focus not to let the tears

  702. come when I start talking like this that used

  703. to not be like me but you know that is one of

  704. the things where you're looking that up That's

  705. one of the things I've prayed for is let me Let

  706. me cry again, let me find my tears again and

  707. to be tender -hearted like Jesus And there's

  708. a pre -course in there and it says we give you

  709. access to our hearts and you give us access to

  710. all you are That's all he asked for and so in

  711. return all he asked for is our heart But what

  712. he what he puts inside of us You know is all

  713. he is so that in return we give that back to

  714. him because all he's asking for is our heart

  715. So much truth to that I'm trying to think. We've

  716. been going at least 45 minutes. I'm trying to

  717. think how to end this. To me, that just goes

  718. back to what we opened this up with. He wants

  719. access. We're so afraid of people leaving us

  720. when they find out our mess. So afraid of people

  721. leaving us if they find out I don't believe like

  722. you That if I let you see the real me How much

  723. am I going to get condemned and judge But yet

  724. that's exactly what he wants and as I think about

  725. what you read. I don't even know that he's satisfied

  726. if he doesn't get it off. I think he so wants

  727. the broken pieces just so he can put it back

  728. together right. I think he so wants us to understand

  729. and realize that we belong on the potter's wheel

  730. and that even time anytime we get a crack in

  731. the in our clay he knows how to fix it back if

  732. we will just stay on the wheel Yeah To where

  733. he can just kind of nudge and you know shape

  734. you I mean why why wouldn't we want to give him

  735. back with everything he has done for us and Why

  736. not run to the one when when you're afraid of

  737. everyone else leaving? Why not run to the one?

  738. That even in your mess he stayed but not only

  739. that He stayed and he was there before you even

  740. made the mess and already knew the mess you were

  741. gonna make But yet his love never changes never

  742. changes He holds us you know you're taught a

  743. lot a lot of times throughout life if it's too

  744. good to be true Probably not that goes out the

  745. window when it comes except for God Cuz I don't

  746. think we understand how good he is It's like

  747. it can't be one of the things that I say is he's

  748. better than we believed him to be. Jason Clark

  749. on Rethinking God with Tacos likes to say he

  750. wants to have a better thought about God tomorrow

  751. than he did today. I don't know that we'll ever

  752. know, even if you live to be 120 and you did

  753. that all your life, you still would never tap

  754. into how good he actually is. Well, you think

  755. in that picture of the throne room of God where

  756. the creatures are surrounding him and the angels

  757. crying, holy, holy, holy. Look how long they've

  758. been doing that. And do it for all eternity.

  759. For all eternity. But you don't get tired of

  760. it because that is as unfathomable as it is in

  761. our human mind there it'll all make sense because

  762. he's got so many intricate so many complexities

  763. to his being that our human minds can't fathom

  764. what that's even like Don't know if I have words

  765. on how to close this out I Mean yeah, I was gonna

  766. say that'd be a whole nother podcast two or three

  767. of them What I did with our youth is I told them,

  768. I said, a good place to start is to make a list

  769. of everything you're grateful for. And then if

  770. you branch off of that as to why you're grateful

  771. for it, your why will soon reveal itself for

  772. sure. I 100 % agree. Because I don't care how

  773. messed up your life is, there's something. that

  774. you can find to be grateful for in it. Yeah.

  775. Why don't you pray for the people like you did

  776. the first time? I think that would be a good

  777. way since we're closing out your little teaching

  778. here, technically. All right, Father God, we

  779. thank you for everyone listening, God. We thank

  780. you for you. We just. Thank you for who you are.

  781. I thank you for who you are in my life. God,

  782. we ask that this podcast would touch those that

  783. you would have or that need to hear this. God,

  784. we ask that you would just bless those listening.

  785. Help them with whatever they are searching for

  786. in you. That maybe we could be a light to somebody.

  787. that has questions. God, we speak life over everyone.

  788. We speak healing over everyone. And God, I just

  789. pray that whoever is listening would find their

  790. why, God. Find their why moment of and that would

  791. bring them closer to you. That's our ultimate

  792. goal is that whatever we say or whatever we may

  793. discuss that it would just make people think

  794. and ultimately bring them closer to you. Not

  795. that we have all the answers, but God that maybe

  796. it may allow someone to think it's okay to question

  797. things or to think a little differently. or to

  798. even just have permission to to find you on their

  799. own in their own quiet time because we know that

  800. the Holy Spirit that you are the best teacher

  801. God I pray blessings over everyone and may you

  802. i'm trying to be obedient i'm trying to listen

  803. to make sure i'm done god i pray that that you

  804. would just touch whoever needs a healing that

  805. someone out there is experiencing hurt and they

  806. just can't seem to let it go and they They can't

  807. seem to quite trust you with everything just

  808. yet. But God, we know that you are a healer,

  809. the ultimate healer, and that they can't get

  810. it from anything or anybody else. And I pray

  811. that that person hears this and that you would

  812. just wrap your arms around them and that they

  813. would feel the most love they have ever felt.

  814. God, I just beat blessings over them in Jesus.

  815. Amen All right guys, I thank you for hanging

  816. out with us if you've made it this far We got

  817. about two more. I probably got about two more

  818. episodes in me And then I want to take a break

  819. through July and August to start revamping and

  820. then bring out season two will start in the month

  821. of September Probably the first week of September,

  822. we'll start rolling out new episodes for season

  823. two. But I'm going to take July and August to

  824. kind of revamp and have some conversation with

  825. some other people and try to bring something

  826. new. And this has definitely been a learning

  827. experience for me. I'm grateful for the opportunity

  828. and the leading of the Holy Spirit and just trying

  829. to do whatever He allows me to do and pushes

  830. me to do. And don't forget, if you're listening,

  831. since I don't have a marketing team, I'll be

  832. my own DJ or whatever you call it. I don't know

  833. what to call it. But you can find my... I've

  834. got two devotionals out. One is called Unmasking

  835. Your Divine Destiny. It's a 30 -day devotional

  836. geared more toward men, but really anybody could

  837. read it. And then the last one... I just released

  838. is the one I was mentioning earlier that is not

  839. for the faint of heart It's going to be challenging

  840. to read and again, I don't claim to be right

  841. on everything But it's right for me in this moment.

  842. I can say that It's called Echoes of Eden and

  843. you can find both of those on Amazon Kindle paperback

  844. the last one actually has a hardcover edition

  845. I made the print bigger and put places for you

  846. to journal and reflect from each day. But you

  847. can find those on Amazon. You can look me up

  848. by my name, Chris, C -H -R -I -S, and last name

  849. you spell it, C -O -B -L -E -R. That's my name.
