  1. Welcome to the podcast Alright guys, welcome

  2. back to the podcast this will be the final episode

  3. of Season one. Next season will begin in September.

  4. I got a plan for it. I hope between now and then

  5. to have a few different conversations. Unless

  6. God steers me in the other direction, the next

  7. season, season two, will go on from September

  8. to November, and it will be focusing on men.

  9. I'm not saying women, you can't listen to it,

  10. but the target audience will be men. That will

  11. be our goal. And also, just so you have a heads

  12. up, I'm revamping a lot of the podcast. It'll

  13. have a new name. Starting in September, I'll

  14. have a new opener, a new logo. It'll be called

  15. Echoes of Eden. That's just something that's

  16. been on my heart. I use metanoia ministries for

  17. my first one. Just to kind of test the waters,

  18. this has been a learning experience. I've never

  19. done anything like this. So this has been new.

  20. I hope those that have listened have got something

  21. out of it. But I'm hoping in season two to start

  22. really being more intentional with it, taking

  23. the things I've learned with this first season.

  24. This will be the 13th episode. I think that's

  25. pretty good for the first season. But yeah anyhow

  26. jumping into this podcast I thought since Season

  27. two will begin the echoes of Eden I'm changing

  28. the name and everything of it. I Wanted to talk

  29. tonight or I'm recording this at night, but I

  30. wanted to talk on this podcast about restoring

  31. Eden And the concept of you have all that you

  32. need I want you to think about Eden is that the

  33. name Eden means land of delight. It's a place

  34. of pleasure and a place of delight. Imago Dei,

  35. and I may have butchered that, is the image of

  36. God. It's the image of God in me. And I want

  37. to start with this scripture as we begin. It's

  38. Jeremiah 6, 16, and it says, Stand at the crossroads.

  39. Now consider your ways and ask for the ancient

  40. paths, which is God's way. Walk on His path and

  41. you'll enjoy a resting place for yourselves.

  42. There seems to be a longing, at least in my own

  43. personal life, for an ancient path. The ancient

  44. ways. The passive old. Not previous generation

  45. old, but like old as in the original design.

  46. the original intent of the Father, the original

  47. design of Yahweh. And the ancient path is His

  48. way. It's the good way. It's the path that I

  49. wholeheartedly believe Jesus is referring to

  50. in Matthew 7 when He says, enter through the

  51. narrow gate. The narrow gate and difficult way

  52. leads to eternal life. So few find it. And now

  53. this is my personal opinion, and again, I don't

  54. claim to be right necessarily, and I don't even

  55. believe that right and wrong is the conversation

  56. anymore. I believe the conversation is let's

  57. go on a journey. And we're all in different parts

  58. of that journey. The Father has to speak to us

  59. differently because we all have different lens

  60. that we see through. We're all at different points

  61. in life, and He knows how to get our attention.

  62. So again, I'm not saying my stuff is right. I'm

  63. just hoping that it entices you to go on a journey

  64. and you begin to ask Holy Spirit the questions

  65. yourself. My personal opinion based on my conversations

  66. with Holy Spirit and the context is that this

  67. verse about the path has nothing to do with heaven

  68. and hell. Consider the church, a large majority

  69. is just as medicated as the world. just as confused

  70. as the world, just as stressed out as the world,

  71. just as hopeless as the world. And that list

  72. can go on and on and on. Most of the church,

  73. I would have to argue, has not found the narrow

  74. path. They're on a path leading to destruction

  75. and I think it's very simply because they do

  76. not honestly know who Abba is and therefore do

  77. not know who they are. I believe the largest

  78. threat facing the church, at least in the western

  79. part of the world, is identity. And I'll never

  80. forget one of the statements made in the movie

  81. The Shack that said this, you were made to be

  82. loved. If you haven't seen the movie, I would

  83. encourage you to go watch it. Be forewarned,

  84. it will challenge your theology like crazy. But

  85. I want you to think about Eden and the very meaning

  86. of Eden is place of pleasure or delight. Yet

  87. I was taught growing up in the church I was meant

  88. to struggle most if not all of my life. You're

  89. supposed to struggle with sin, struggle with

  90. the enemy, with myself, you name it. And I do

  91. not, I have to say this at this point in my life,

  92. I do not believe that is the original design.

  93. That was not Papa's original intent for his children.

  94. I want you to think about it. Ask the questions.

  95. I never felt freedom to ask questions growing

  96. up in the church world. And I'm not saying, I

  97. don't believe anyone ever said you can't ask

  98. questions. But I think it's just the culture

  99. that was created. And I had some amazing pastors

  100. in my life. This is not to throw any kind of

  101. shade at anybody. I believe it was the church

  102. world that I had grown up in. But I grew up believing

  103. you don't question God and you don't question

  104. the man of God. Yet I am discovering that questions

  105. are an important part of maturing. As I think

  106. about this, I think about my own children, and

  107. as they grow, there are constant questions. Innocent

  108. questions. Questions that they're looking for

  109. answers to. They want to understand life. And

  110. I think we, sometimes as parents, believe they

  111. have it all figured out and that they're supposed

  112. to just do exactly what they're supposed to do,

  113. forgetting they're only, let's see, my kids are

  114. 10, 6, and almost 7 months. And I think we forget

  115. that they're not supposed to have the answers.

  116. They're going to ask questions because that's

  117. who they are as a child. I hope that makes sense.

  118. But questions, they stir up thoughts. They hassle

  119. our conscience and push us to find answers through

  120. deeper study. They encourage conversation and

  121. investigation. Good questions can be transformative.

  122. Questions, they stimulate discussion and creative

  123. and critical thinking. When you ask a question,

  124. instead of giving the answer, the entire brain

  125. gets active as it reflects, releasing serotonin,

  126. allowing it to relax. This encourages gathering

  127. intelligence from all areas of the brain allowing

  128. for more insight than would happen if you provided

  129. solutions to others. So questions are a good

  130. thing. They're not bad. They're not meant as

  131. disrespect. They're not meant as anything more

  132. than you trying to grow. My whole point of doing

  133. this podcast and bringing a different viewpoint

  134. than maybe what you've heard before is to cause

  135. you to ask questions. I think, I want to get

  136. on a soapbox, but I think about the current situation

  137. that we have in our world. We just was watching

  138. Iran and Israel do all this, and people are like,

  139. oh, this is going to be World War III. The problem

  140. is, Israel and Iran has always been in conflict.

  141. And they're going to continuously be in conflict

  142. until Israel figures out actually who they are.

  143. And I know you can... We can have the political

  144. discussion as do we back Israel all the time

  145. or yada yada yada? I'm not here to discuss that

  146. but this this is one of the concerns that I have

  147. And you can cut me off after this if you won't

  148. I mean it's it's going to be what it is But I

  149. want to challenge your mindset. I Remember watching

  150. a documentary I believe it may be on Netflix.

  151. I don't remember or YouTube or something That

  152. people who knew the scripture and how the end

  153. was supposedly quote -unquote to come They would

  154. make decisions based off of their understanding

  155. of scripture Now follow me My concern is I know

  156. even with this prayer our current president there's

  157. a Christian cabinet, I don't know I forget what

  158. they called them But there's a bunch of Christian

  159. pastors and leaders. And my concern would be

  160. this, and this is just a thought. This whole

  161. thing goes about questioning and journeying.

  162. You've got a bunch of people that the president

  163. has, that they have the president's ear. Are

  164. they going to make suggestions based off how

  165. they believe the world is quote unquote supposed

  166. to end? and help encourage His decisions and

  167. sway His decisions to fit their end -time theology.

  168. That's a legit question and concern that I have

  169. with the present world that we live in. Anyhow,

  170. I'm going to get off my soapbox for a minute.

  171. But I want you to think about the questions.

  172. Exodus 4, 2 -9, God asks, what is in your hand?

  173. 2 Kings 4, 2 -4, the prophet says, what do you

  174. have in your house? The first question God asked

  175. in Genesis 3 -9, where are you? John 1 -38, what

  176. do you want or what do you seek? That's Jesus'

  177. first words in the Gospel of John. Understand

  178. that God never asks you for something that He

  179. has not already given and supplied you with.

  180. I want you to think about Luke 17 verse 20, it

    Luke 17:20

  181. says the kingdom is within you. Jesus understood

  182. that. He remained in union with the Father. The

  183. Trinity walked just as you and I are supposed

  184. to do. We have the same spirit within us as the

  185. Christ did, as Jesus did, as Yeshua did. We have

  186. the same spirit within us. Deuteronomy 30, 11

  187. -14 says, This command I am giving you today

  188. is not too difficult for you. And it is not beyond

  189. your reach. It is not kept in heaven so distant

  190. that you must ask, Who will go up to heaven and

  191. bring it down so we can hear it and obey? It

  192. is not kept beyond the sea so far away that you

  193. must ask, Who will cross the sea to bring it

  194. to us so we can hear it and obey? No, the message

  195. is very close at hand. It is on your lips and

  196. in your heart so that you can obey it. Ephesians

  197. 1, 1 -11. I'm writing this letter to all the

  198. devoted believers who have been made holy by

  199. being one with Jesus, the Anointed One. You've

  200. already been made holy just because you're one

  201. with Him. And you didn't get a say in that. The

  202. more you understand that you are one with Him,

  203. and understand your authentic identity, only

  204. reveal to the Christ you will begin to live from

  205. that. May God the Heavenly Father of our Lord

  206. Jesus Christ release grace over you and impart

  207. total well -being into your lives. Every spiritual

  208. blessing in the heavenly realm has already been

  209. lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful

  210. Heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus.

  211. All because He sees us wrapped into Christ, that

  212. is why we celebrate Him with all of our hearts.

  213. Verse 4, And in love He chose us before He laid

  214. the foundation of the universe. Because of His

  215. great love He ordained us, so that we would be

  216. seen as holy in His eyes and with unstained innocence.

  217. For it was always in His perfect plan to adopt

  218. us as His delightful children. through our union

  219. with Jesus the Anointed One, so that His tremendous

  220. love that cascades over us would glorify His

  221. grace for the same love He has for the beloved

  222. Jesus He has for us. And this unfolding plan

  223. brings Him great pleasure. Verse 7, Since we

  224. are now joined to Christ, we have been given

  225. the treasures of redemption by His blood, the

  226. total cancellation of our sins all because the

  227. cascading riches of His grace. You know the exciting

  228. part of that verse is that was penned before

  229. you and I were ever born. Before you ever messed

  230. it all up, the total cancellation of our sins

  231. was already taken care of. This super abundant

  232. grace is already powerfully working in us, releasing

  233. all forms of wisdom and practical understanding.

  234. And through the revelation of the Anointed One,

  235. He unveiled His secret desires to us, the hidden

  236. mystery of His long -range plan, which He was

  237. delighted to implement from the very beginning

  238. of time. And because of God's unfailing purpose,

  239. this detailed plan will reign supreme through

  240. every period of time until the fulfillment of

  241. all the ages finally reaches its climax, when

  242. God makes all things new and all of heaven and

  243. earth through Jesus Christ. And through our union

  244. with Him, With Christ, we too have been claimed

  245. by God as His own inheritance. Before we were

  246. ever born, He gave us our destiny that we would

  247. fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes

  248. every purpose and plan in His heart. Now, again,

  249. we're talking about restoring Eden. And I think

  250. Ephesians that we just read does a great job.

  251. of helping us understand. We already have everything

  252. that we need. We have the total cancellation

  253. of our stands. We have the super abundant grace

  254. is already working within us. We are one with

  255. Christ right now. Right here, right now, wherever

  256. you're at, you're one with Christ. And then I

  257. love Deuteronomy. I had to read that one because

  258. At the end of verse 14 it says, the message is

  259. very close at hand. It's on your lips. This is

  260. something not in a distant land. Sometimes you

  261. have to go far away to get it. It's within you.

  262. Just like Luke 17, 20 says, the kingdom of God

  263. is within you. Eden is within you. Think about

  264. this thought. I wrote this down. That according

  265. to multiple studies, multitasking is a myth.

  266. The human brain is not designed to perform multiple

  267. tasks at the same time. Instead, people switch

  268. between tasks very quickly, which is called task

  269. switching. This process uses a lot of brain power,

  270. even if you don't realize it. People who think

  271. they can split their attention between multiple

  272. tasks at once aren't actually getting more done.

  273. In fact, they're doing less, getting more stressed

  274. out, and performing worse than those who single

  275. task. I want you to think about that. Because

  276. I'm guilty of being the so -called multi -tasker.

  277. And when I begin to read this and study this,

  278. I'm like, um, no. Maybe that's why I'm so tired

  279. all the time. But when I read that, and I studied

  280. that, I began to wonder, could this be why David

  281. said in Psalm 27, 4 -6, that here's the one thing

  282. that I crave from Yahweh. The one thing I seek

  283. above all else. I want to live with Him every

  284. moment in His house, beholding the marvelous

  285. beauty of Yahweh, filled with all, delighting

  286. in His glory and grace. I want to contemplate

  287. in His temple. In the day of trouble He will

  288. treasure me in His shelter under the cover of

  289. His tent. He will lift me high upon a rock out

  290. of reach from all enemies who surround me. Triumphant

  291. now, I'll bring Him my offerings of praise, singing

  292. and shouting with ecstatic joy. Yes, I will sing

  293. praises to Yahweh. Could this be why Jesus said

  294. in Matthew 6, 31 -34, So then forsake your worries.

  295. Why would you say, what will we eat or drink?

  296. What will we wear? For this is what the unbelievers

  297. chase after. Doesn't your Heavenly Father already

  298. know the things your bodies require? So above

  299. all, constantly seek God's kingdom and His righteousness.

  300. And then all these less important things will

  301. be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about

  302. tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes

  303. your way one day at a time. tomorrow will take

  304. care of itself. The magnificent thing about,

  305. that I find fascinating, or one of them, I guess,

  306. when you think about Eden, Adam and Eve in that

  307. moment would have had to have a single focus,

  308. and that was on union and intimacy with Yahweh.

  309. They walked with Him, they talked with Him, they

  310. communed with Him on a regular basis. There's

  311. nothing in Scripture in Genesis that says that

  312. they were distracted. That they had all these

  313. other things they had to get done. There's nowhere

  314. that you find them going, I've got a cane today,

  315. I've got some stuff to get done. But they walked

  316. in constant communion and constant intimacy with

  317. Yahweh. They had a single focus. And I don't

  318. know, maybe they did, I don't know what they

  319. did. I wasn't there. But they had a singular

  320. focus. They focused on being one with Him. They

  321. focused on going for the walk. So I want you

  322. to think back to the garden. Man's focus was

  323. simply on Him. Their focus was being vulnerable.

  324. and being intimate with him, walking in the garden

  325. together. I want to read just a note here, because

  326. I find this interesting. Some people probably

  327. won't, but I find this very interesting. But

  328. if you read the passion translation, there is

  329. a notation in Genesis 2 -3 that talks about The

  330. Sabbath. And it says this, it says, God was not

  331. weary, he simply rejoiced in his masterpiece.

  332. So again, we're talking about the Sabbath, this

  333. word, Genesis 2 .3, we read, So God blessed the

  334. seventh day, made it sacred, because on it he

  335. paused to rest from all his work of creation.

  336. But He says He was not weary, He simply rejoiced

  337. in His masterpiece. God's work in us, for us,

  338. and through us continues through time. God's

  339. last day of creating was man's first day. As

  340. soon as man was created, he rested with God.

  341. In this way, he became one with God, dwelling

  342. with Him and resting in His accomplishments.

  343. There is no mention of evening and morning completing

  344. the seventh day, for God's Sabbath rest endures

  345. forever, and there is no night there. Our true

  346. Sabbath rest is found in the finished work of

  347. Christ. Only one day of creation was given a

  348. name, the seventh day, which was called Shabbat,

  349. the Hebrew root word for Sabbath. contains two

  350. letters that mean to return to a seat or rest

  351. and learn. Just think about that. Consider Genesis

  352. 3 .7. It says, immediately their eyes were opened

  353. and they realized they were naked, vulnerable,

  354. and ashamed. Their eyes were opened. and they

  355. began to realize that they were naked, vulnerable,

  356. and that they were also ashamed. But my question

  357. is, was this not the design for us to walk naked

  358. and vulnerable before Him every single day? It's

  359. just like marriage with my wife who was on the

  360. previous podcast. I have to remain vulnerable

  361. before her and vice versa. That's how you build

  362. the intimacy. You're vulnerable with each other.

  363. And skipped into verse 22, the Trinity has a

  364. conversation. It says, The man has become like

  365. one of us, knowing good and evil, and now he

  366. might take in his hands the fruit from the tree

  367. of life and eat it and live forever. The tree

  368. of life was never forbidden, but it was love

  369. that said we cannot allow them to remain here

  370. and life forever in this state. We have to lay

  371. down our lives and restore it all back. I want

  372. you to think about that. The tree of life was

  373. never the forbidden fruit. But it was the love

  374. that said we cannot allow them to remain here

  375. and live forever in this state. We have to lay

  376. down our lives and restore it all back. That's

  377. why I believe it's also Ephesians that says he

  378. was the lamb slain before the foundations of

  379. the world. Jesus wasn't a Plan B. He was the

  380. original design all along. He knew we'd screw

  381. it up. That's why He fixed it before He ever

  382. created time. He was outside of time, fixed it

  383. before time ever began. The Lamb that was slain

  384. before the foundation of the world, it was already

  385. completed before the world was framed, before

  386. time ever began. It was never a plan B. It was

  387. the original plan and heaven just needed to invade

  388. earth and here again, We are in a place where

  389. we need heaven to invade her. But it will never

  390. happen if we do not allow Eden to be restored

  391. in our lives. It will never happen if we don't

  392. find our secret places as a child and become

  393. one with Him again. There's a couple old church

  394. fathers. Gregory of Nicea, he's a fourth century

  395. theologian in the year 335 to 394. He penned

  396. this, he said, since with all my soul I behold

  397. the face of my beloved, therefore all the beauty

  398. of his form is seen in me. Gregory of Nacianus,

  399. he said, I cannot think of the one without quickly

  400. being encircled by the splendor of the three,

  401. nor can I discern the three without being straightway

  402. carried back to the one. I forgot to write down

  403. who this last one was, but it said He wants you

  404. to become a living force for all mankind, lights

  405. shining in the world. You are to be radiant lights

  406. as you stand beside Christ, the Great Light,

  407. bathed in the glory of Him who is the light of

  408. heaven. Essentially, we have to allow Holy Spirit

  409. to restore Eden within us. And just like in Deuteronomy,

  410. it's not far out. You don't have to leap over

  411. all this stuff to get to it. It's already within

  412. you. Go back and read Ephesians 1 -11. Go back

  413. and read that and understand what's already been

  414. paid for you. What is already deep inside you.

  415. Luke 17, the kingdom of God is within you. You

  416. and I. If we would quit trying to multitask and

  417. to juggle, I know we live in a world where you

  418. almost have to try to do that. You're pulled

  419. in a thousand different directions. But if we

  420. could slow down and understand that He just wants

  421. a single focus, just like David, here's the one

  422. thing I crave. The one thing I seek above all

  423. else. It's the words of Jesus that says, seek

  424. the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And

  425. then all these less important things will be

  426. given to you abundantly. My friends, this whole

  427. 13 weeks, my goal has been to do nothing but

  428. to get whoever listens to it to go on a journey.

  429. of asking the difficult questions. I'm fully

  430. aware that my views are not popular. I'm fully

  431. aware of that and that's okay with me. It really

  432. is. I'm okay with asking the hard questions and

  433. understanding that there may be an answer to

  434. the questions that goes against things that I

  435. was taught. There may be a higher way than what

  436. I was taught and that that's I'm okay with that

  437. I'm okay being misunderstood I'm okay with all

  438. of that It does not bother me Most of the time

  439. there are times I think that's with anything

  440. And again, I'm not sitting here saying everything

  441. you've heard over these 13 weeks or 13, excuse

  442. me, 13 podcasts. It's been much longer than 13

  443. weeks. I'm not saying I'm right. But again, I've

  444. come to the belief that I don't think the question

  445. is about right and wrong. I think the question

  446. is, where are you on your journey? Have you even

  447. started your journey? Are you just going through

  448. the motions? How do I say that? Going through

  449. the motions and forgetting that there's something

  450. much deeper within you. There's something inside

  451. of you calling out for more. And I know you're

  452. probably listening to this and maybe you're asking

  453. the question, is this it? And I just want to

  454. help you. No, it's not. There's much more. There's

  455. a better way. There's a higher way. There's a

  456. kingdom way. I'm finding myself more and more

  457. as I look at the stuff happening in the world.

  458. I'm starting to ask more questions such as what

  459. is the kingdom way in this? What's the kingdom

  460. solution to this problem? Because the kingdom

  461. of God has solutions to the problems we face.

  462. if we're willing to listen to them. We simply

  463. got to be obedient to Holy Spirit. Go for the

  464. walk. Metanoia. Come back to your senses. This

  465. goes all the way back to one of the first podcasts

  466. I did on one of your thoughts. Allow Holy Spirit

  467. to completely renovate your mind. Understand

  468. that you've been given The mind of Christ. Man,

  469. do we understand what that even means. Honestly,

  470. I don't claim to know what that really entails

  471. when He says we've been given the mind of Christ.

  472. It's an invitation, friends, to go deeper. It's

  473. an invitation to go further. It's an invitation

  474. to come up here. An invitation to go higher.

  475. That's what I hope these 13 podcasts have made

  476. you do, is ask questions. Wherever you're listening

  477. from, ask the questions. Father, I thank You

  478. for anyone listening to this episode, these podcasts,

  479. these 13 episodes that You've given me to share

  480. with people. Maybe it's only a handful right

  481. now. Holy Spirit, I ask that You would speak

  482. to their hearts. Holy Spirit, reveal Yourself

  483. to them. Invite them on the journey. Invite them

  484. on the journey to become more like you. Father,

  485. I ask that you would restore Eden within each

  486. of us. To help us to understand that we have

  487. all that we need already deposited inside of

  488. us that you have left us without nothing. You've

  489. withheld nothing from us. Thank you, Holy Spirit,

  490. for these 13 episodes. I hope and I pray that

  491. I've communicated what you've given me well.

  492. pray about the next season would you give me

  493. clarity give me wisdom to be able to communicate

  494. the kingdom and communicate your voice with your

  495. people as you've given me amen friends again

  496. i hope you've enjoyed this i ask that you leave

  497. a review Just so I would know that people listen

  498. sometimes Just a last reminder Again, I don't

  499. have a marketing team so I put my own plugs out

  500. there I've got two devotionals now. You can find

  501. them on Amazon The one is called echoes of Eden.

  502. It's a 30 -day devotional I actually updated

  503. it to include it's a bigger font and I included

  504. a spot for you to write in that one into Record

  505. your thoughts. It's a 30 -day devotional, but

  506. it's one of those that I do not believe anyone

  507. will actually get through it within 30 days.

  508. I hope it takes you a whole year to go through,

  509. because it is challenging. It was challenging

  510. for me to write, so I think it'll be challenging

  511. for some to read, and that's okay. But I have

  512. that one, and I also have Unmasking Your Divine

  513. Destiny. It's another 30 -day devotional for

  514. men. I've been told women can read it, too, and

  515. they could. But both of those you can find on

  516. Amazon. I just put my name. That's Chris, C -H

  517. -R -I -S. Last name is spelled C -O -B -L -E

  518. -R. So Chris Kobler. You can find those both

  519. on Amazon. Please go get them. You can get the

  520. kindle version the paperback and actually the

  521. newest one that goes if Eden has a hardback edition

  522. if you'd like to get that But anyhow, I hope

  523. I hope and I pray that these have blessed someone

  524. And I will see you guys well see you I will talk

  525. to you guys again in September for season 2 Don't

  526. forget stay tuned It will be going, switching

  527. from Metanoia Ministries to Echoes of Eden. Just

  528. know that. Anyhow, be blessed. Love you guys

  529. and I'm praying for you all.
