  1. Before time had a name there was a garden a place

  2. where heaven and earth Walked as one This is

  3. the echoes of Eden Where we rediscover ancient

  4. roots and awaken to our eternal purpose All right

  5. guys we are back week eight the final week In

  6. this series called the revelation of Christ in

  7. all. Yes. I promise you week a is the last in

  8. this series So next week we will jump into something

  9. different But this week want to talk about I

  10. ended week seven with the title born of God kept

  11. by truth So over the last seven weeks We have

  12. walked carefully, we have walked slowly, and

  13. we have walked honestly through scripture. I

  14. feel like we have really taken our time and dug

  15. into a lot of different places and really mined

  16. out some gold, mined out some truth, mined out

  17. some revelation throughout this teaching. We

  18. have seen things Christ before Adam, Christ is

  19. greater than Adam. Christ is holding all things

  20. together. We have seen holiness as inheritance.

  21. We have seen darkness as blindness and the truth

  22. we talked about last week as there is no separation

  23. in Christ. So now we come to the final question,

  24. the one people often hold on to as the last anchor

  25. of separation. And if Christ is in all, what

  26. does it mean to be born of God? And this is not

  27. about dismantling scripture. This is about finally

  28. allowing Holy Spirit to help us to understand

  29. scripture. So we're gonna kick this week off,

  30. this final week, kick this week off in 1 John

    1 John 5:18

  31. chapter 5 verse 18. And it says this, we are

  32. convinced together the passion that everyone

  33. fathered by God, Does not make sinning a way

  34. of life Because the Son of God protects the child

  35. of God and the evil one cannot touch him Reading

  36. this verse is Let me say it this way this verse

  37. is often read as insiders versus outsiders believer

  38. versus non -believer son of God versus sinner,

  39. saint versus sinner, protected versus abandoned,

  40. reconciled versus unreconciled. But John is doing

  41. something much more profound here. So we're going

  42. to pump the brakes and we're going to slow this

  43. down a little bit and actually look at some of

  44. this. So again, I don't have a Greek. know how

  45. to speak Greek, but I'm going to do this as best

  46. as possible. I wish I could find a way, and I'm

  47. not that skilled yet. This is still new for me.

  48. I wish I could find a way to put little things

  49. on the bottom of the screen. Maybe I can do that

  50. for this video, and I'm speaking prematurely.

  51. But the word whosoever is posho. P -A -S -H -O.

  52. It does not mean a select group or a limited

  53. few are those who qualify correctly. It actually

  54. means everyone without restriction. So John does

  55. not narrow the scope here when he says this.

  56. He intentionally leaves it wide open and that

  57. matters when you're trying to understand and

  58. read scripture. Again, whosoever. Not talking

  59. about a select people Limited for you just us

  60. four and no more. No, he's this this word would

  61. actually mean everyone without restriction Then

  62. we have we have and let me go back and I want

  63. to read this on the King James 2 It says we know

  64. that whosoever is born of God sinneth not But

  65. he that is begotten of God keepeth himself and

  66. that wicked one toucheth him not So again, we

  67. have the whosoever figured out Let's look at

  68. the word born, which is the word gnaio And it

  69. does not primarily refer to a moment of decision

  70. It's key It's not talking about you making a

  71. decision and now you're all of a sudden born

  72. It's not talking about you repeating a prayer

  73. It's not coming talking about you going to an

  74. altar and I'm not coming against any of this

  75. I'm just trying to help you and I to understand

  76. the truth of what the scripture is saying. What

  77. is John saying when he's writing this? So this

  78. word geneo, it refers to origin, it refers to

  79. source, it refers to coming forth from. So it

  80. answers the question, where did this come from?

  81. So if you look at this verse, John is not talking

  82. about a religious event. He is speaking to our

  83. origin. Go back to what we talked about last

  84. week when he's talking about, when Paul is talking

  85. to the pagan worshipers. And he's speaking to

  86. them about this God that you don't know, that

  87. you're actually worshiping. This is who we live

  88. and move and have our being in. That we are actually

  89. his offspring. So John here is talking the same

  90. as Paul in a sense when he he's talking about

  91. origin He's talking about your identity and not

  92. just your identity But the identity of everyone

  93. that you come in contact with and why is this

  94. important? Because it helps us see ourselves

  95. correctly and if we actually understand that

  96. Everyone is already included in this we can begin

  97. to be, and I believe this is Paul said it, that

  98. I know no man after the flesh but after the Spirit.

  99. And what does that mean? It means that I already

  100. recognize everybody's included in this. You have

  101. the Spirit of Christ within you. And if I can

  102. see that as a son to another son, or son to daughter,

  103. whatever, if I can see that, recognize that I

  104. can begin to inquire of the Holy Spirit to say

  105. Holy Spirit show me what you see and I can speak

  106. to the Christ within that individual and then

  107. again this is not something to be a quick fix

  108. that I can call out the Christ within then they'll

  109. just start living right now this is a process

  110. Maybe you encounter this individual for the first

  111. time and you plant that little seed because you

  112. see the Christ within them You speak to that

  113. within them and maybe six months down the road

  114. someone else comes along to speaks to it It's

  115. not about getting people to convert right then

  116. and there to make a decision. It's about planting

  117. seed Remember the kingdom is as a seed You're

  118. planting seeds in people and if we could understand

  119. the truth of our identity, that you and I did

  120. nothing, that we did not get to say the right

  121. prayer to gain this, that this is all because

  122. of Christ, from Christ, through Christ, in Christ.

  123. It's all about Christ. Then I begin to see the

  124. world around me just as clear. We begin to understand

  125. when, you know, when they're asking Jesus about

  126. who is my enemy. Who's my neighbor? That's what

  127. it was. Who is my neighbor? Help me to define

  128. my neighbor And Jesus starts talking about things

  129. about loving your enemies Think about these kind

  130. of conversations these kind of things. It's very

  131. important for us to understand It's really hard

  132. to have an enemy when you're busy praying for

  133. them You don't When you don't like the politicians,

  134. you don't like the president, your governor,

  135. whatever, it's really hard to hate them when

  136. you're praying for them. You don't like the Muslim

  137. who lives in your neighborhood? It's really hard

  138. to hate them when you're praying for them. You

  139. don't like that member of the LGBTQ community?

  140. It's really hard to hate them when you're busy

  141. praying for them and when you're busy asking

  142. the Holy Spirit, help me see this person through

  143. your eyes. Adjust, I still have it here, adjust

  144. my lens. Help me to see people the way you see

  145. people. Understanding, where did they come from?

  146. Because here's the truth John's talking about

  147. origin and here's the truth humanity's origin

  148. is God This echoes Acts chapter 17 that we read

    Acts 17 chapter mention

  149. last week note that we are his offspring It echoes

  150. Genesis the breath of Yahweh it echoes Colossians

  151. that Christ holds all things together John is

  152. not introducing a new idea here, a new thought.

  153. He is affirming a consistent thought. So what

  154. is John actually saying? John is not saying that

  155. only believers are born of God. He is saying

  156. those that live, those who live from their true

  157. origin do not live enslaved to deception. I'll

  158. say that again. John is saying those who live

  159. from their true origin do not live enslaved to

  160. deception. Again, it has to do with ignorance

  161. and blindness, darkness. Darkness is ignorance

  162. concerning divine things. Darkness is blindness.

  163. It's not a spiritual threat. Let's get past that.

  164. Darkness is not a spiritual threat. Light overpowers

  165. darkness 100 % of the time. If you don't believe

  166. me, walk into your house, put the lights off,

  167. and go flip a switch, and you tell me how much

  168. argument and struggle there was when you flipped

  169. that switch on. Same concept. But those who live

  170. from their true origin do not live enslaved to

  171. deception. A majority of the people around you

  172. and I, including in the world of church, are

  173. enslaved to deception and do not know who they

  174. are. It's all about identity. There is still

  175. a root of separation in most modern churches

  176. that we have in the West. There's still this

  177. this philosophy of it's us versus them That's

  178. it's in and out Whereas I believe it's as simple

  179. as awake and asleep Sin here is not framed as

  180. a moral failure understand what sin is Sin is

  181. framed as missing the mark of identity the word

  182. ha martia without form, without your original

  183. design, without the original blueprint. That

  184. is what sin is. Sin is a distorted identity,

  185. plain and simple. Sin is not moral failure. Sin

  186. is not the actions that you commit. Sin, the

  187. actions that you see that you would classify

  188. as sin is simply the fruit of a distorted identity,

  189. which is sin. That's the sin the sin is the distorted

  190. identity which will produce the what we would

  191. classify as sin It produces that fruit in our

  192. life When we don't understand who we are when

  193. we don't know that we're included when we don't

  194. understand that there is zero separation in Christ

  195. When we don't understand who we are in him through

  196. him by him for him When we don't understand these

  197. things, we will manifest the fruit of sin in

  198. our life in multiple different fashions. So sin

  199. is not moral failure. It's missing the mark of

  200. identity. It's distorted identity. When you know

  201. who you are, lies lose their grip. When you understand,

  202. here's a perfect thing. That's why I don't believe

  203. in generational curses anymore. When you actually

  204. understand, in John chapter three, now I think

  205. we talked about this, I don't remember to be

  206. completely honest. I have to go back through

  207. all my notes and listen to this myself. But in

  208. John chapter three, when Jesus is conversing

  209. with Nicodemus and he tells him you must be born

  210. again, that word again is not a rebirth, it means

  211. to be born from above. When you and I understand,

  212. that we are born from above, that we are born

  213. out of the relationship of Father, Son, and Spirit,

  214. when we came from that circumstance, when you

  215. understand where you came from, you begin to

  216. understand that you may have come through your

  217. parents, you may have come through that natural

  218. lineage, but you came from God. The moment you

  219. understand that, generational curses loses its

  220. capabilities in your life. It loses its power,

  221. because then I'm no longer attached to my natural

  222. bloodline. No, I came from God, so I have as

  223. much chance of struggling with this generational

  224. curse as did God, because that's who I came from.

  225. actually my origin, that is actually my starting

  226. point. I may have come through this natural lineage,

  227. but I am not bound to the same logic that's happening

  228. here. I'm not bound to the same sicknesses, I'm

  229. not bound to the same addictions, I'm not bound

  230. to the same whatever, you name it, I'm not bound

  231. to this any longer, because I came from God.

  232. I know who I am, and when I know who I am in

  233. Christ, Every line begins to lose its grip Again

  234. I talk about my own story being addicted to pornography

  235. for many years And now you know to be honest

  236. and at first it was fun But then it becomes a

  237. bondage and you won't now and can't won't out

  238. enough. I Ran to the altar. I did the whole rededicate

  239. my life. I did everything that I knew to do It

  240. did not work But the moment that I just began

  241. to show up for the walk with Holy Spirit and

  242. Say here it is Eventually the more that I walked

  243. with Holy Spirit eventually this stuff just began

  244. to fall away why because I was understanding

  245. who I was as a son of God and When you understand

  246. who you are as a son and daughter of God the

  247. lies begin to lose their power If in Colossians

  248. 2, Jesus stripped the power of the enemy from

  249. him, how does he still have power unless it's

  250. you and I giving it to him in our own individual

  251. life? Stop paying attention to him running his

  252. mouth and whispering to you about who you are

  253. not. Then we have verse 19. that we are God's

  254. children and that the whole world lies under

  255. the measuring influence of the evil one. King

  256. James says this way, we know that we are of God

  257. and the whole world lies in wickedness. Notice

  258. what John does not say. John does not say that

  259. the world is abandoned by God. John does not

  260. say that the world is separated from God. John

  261. does not say that the world is outside of Christ.

  262. He said the world is under deception The entire

  263. world is under the influence of the evil one

  264. Listen influence is not ownership Blindness is

  265. not absence If you and your kids gather in the

  266. same room and shut all the lights off to where

  267. you can't see each other Just because you can't

  268. see The other people in the room does not mean

  269. that they are absent from the room It just means

  270. you can't see them So again John is trying to

  271. explain the world is under deception Influence

  272. does not equal ownership blindness does not equal

  273. absence throughout scripture darkness equals

  274. blindness evil equals deception sin means a distorted

  275. identity some would say missing the mark i think

  276. that's a side effect of not of a distorted identity

  277. i think that's a consequence i think you missing

  278. the mark is because you have a distorted identity

  279. So while some say that sin is missing the mark

  280. I say sin is distorted identity which causes

  281. you of course to miss the mark But I don't think

  282. it's the I don't think it goes deep enough in

  283. the definition But throughout scripture Never

  284. does God withdraw presents never does Christ

  285. leave humanity John chapter 1 talks about it.

    John 1 chapter mention

  286. The word became flesh and dwelt among us. If

  287. you look at the Greek word of the word that's

  288. translated as among is the word en and it can

  289. also mean within and in. So you could say it

  290. this way, the word became flesh and dwelt within

  291. you. I think among is a fine translation. I just

  292. don't think it goes deep enough Yes, the word

  293. became flesh and dwelt among us But he also came

  294. to dwell within you and I we you and I are now

  295. the temple of the Lord The Holy Spirit has come

  296. to dwell with it within you and I My friend.

  297. It's a big deal John maintains the same thread

  298. that we followed all series long The problem

  299. is not being The problem is seeing if you do

  300. not see correctly You will live beneath who you

  301. have been called and created to be And now we

  302. have the final seal Acts chapter 10 Acts chapter

Acts 10 chapter mention Acts 10 chapter mention

  303. 10 Let me see if I can get there real quick.

  304. I don't know that I'm gonna read it, but I like

  305. to have it there as a reference in case I want

  306. to read it all. Acts chapter 10, Peter has a

    Acts 10 chapter mention

  307. vision. You can see this in Acts chapter 10 starting

    Acts 10 chapter mention

  308. around verse 9. Peter has a vision. It's not

  309. about food. It's not about rules. It's about

  310. people. God tells people, and this is fascinating.

  311. This is really important if you and I grasp it.

  312. God tells Peter, do not call unclean what I have

  313. cleansed. Stop right there. Don't check your

  314. brain at the door. Stop right here. And I want

  315. you to ask yourself, what person that you come

  316. in contact with has God not cleansed? What person,

  317. if we can answer this, what person did Christ

  318. fail? What individual did he not reach? Do not

  319. call unclean what I have cleansed Trying to find

  320. that in Acts 10 15 out of the passion translates

  321. it this way the voice book again. Nothing is

  322. unclean if God declares it to be clean purified

  323. the meaning this is dr. Simmons notes for this

  324. verse the meaning of the spiritual vision is

  325. this God has declared every human being to be

  326. of special worth and dignity understand every

  327. every human being every human being every every

  328. human being the Muslim, the Democrat, the Republican,

  329. the LGBTQ, the atheist, every human being, God

  330. has declared to be of special worth and dignity.

  331. The entire world needs the gospel. This encounter

  332. helped Peter understand that God was about to

  333. send him off with the men who were at the door

  334. of the house Even though their religion had labeled

  335. had been labeled unclean Religion allows us to

  336. label many different categories and groups of

  337. people as unclean but the truth of the gospel

  338. is God has declared every human being to be of

  339. special worth and dignity. This is not future

  340. tense. This is already done. Then Peter meets

  341. Cornelius, a Gentile. He's an outsider. He's

  342. a non -believer. And Peter's revelation is not,

  343. God has now decided to accept you. It is God

  344. shows no partiality. Peter realizes in this moment

  345. that God was already present. God was already

  346. at work. God was already involved. Peter did

  347. not bring Christ to Cornelius. He recognized

  348. Christ in Cornelius. Man if we would get this

  349. If we could ever grab hold If we could ever grab

  350. hold of the revelation that every single Human

  351. being that we come in contact with is not meant

  352. for us to degrade and spit upon like they're

  353. worth worth less than us. And if we could actually

  354. see that it's not about me trying to bring Christ

  355. to you because somehow you are without, then

  356. no, it is recognizing the Christ inside of them.

  357. This has so much more to do With how we see other

  358. people that we would classify as out there on

  359. the outside What does it mean to be born of God

  360. It means to be living from your true source it

  361. means to awaken to your origin It means to no

  362. longer being ruled by lies and deception. Being

  363. born of God is not about exclusion. No, this

  364. is about alignment. It's the difference between

  365. existing and living awake. Let's think about

  366. this why this does not mean everyone lives, right?

  367. Truth does not override consciousness People

  368. can still live blind to truth even in the church

  369. world People can resist awakening People can

  370. continuously believe lies But lies do not change

  371. reality They distort experience. If one of my

  372. children were to wake up tomorrow and believe

  373. the lie, they are not my child. They can certainly

  374. believe that lie, but that lie does not change

  375. the truth and the reality of who they are. But

  376. what it will do is it will distort their experience.

  377. and they will miss out on things by being my

  378. child. The gospel does not force awakening. The

  379. gospel invites awakening. The gospel has not

  380. got as far, but you can get close. The gospel

  381. has got as near. So just wake up to the truth

  382. of it. The gospel is not you are separated, but

  383. you can be reunited. That sounds really good.

  384. That sounds like good news. But better news is

  385. the gospel that says you are always included.

  386. See it. Our role moving forward. We don't carry

  387. fear. We carry light. We don't preach distance.

  388. We reveal nearness. We don't divide humanity.

  389. We call humanity to awake. Sons and daughters

  390. do not manage separation. No sons and daughters

  391. live from union. Just think about this as we

  392. close out this series. You are born of God. God

  393. is your source. Christ is your life. You do not

  394. live from separation. You live from the place

  395. of union. You are awakening to what has always

  396. been true. Christ is not trying to get into people.

  397. Christ is revealing himself through people. My

  398. friend darkness is not winning. Truth is awakening.

  399. And the revelation of Christ in all is not dangerous.

  400. The revelation of Christ in all is actually liberating.

  401. Think about it. It's actually more freeing when

  402. you understand it's Christ in all. You can stop

  403. being the sin police. You can stop pointing the

  404. fingers. And now you and I have the invitation

  405. to see the world, the people around us, as Christ

  406. sees them. Father, I thank you for these listeners.

  407. For each person who may listen to this on a podcast

  408. or listen to this via YouTube I Pray that you

  409. would allow this as you deal with Saul as he

  410. was converted to Paul Allow the scales to fall

  411. from their eyes. May they see the world around

  412. them As you do May they see people as you see

  413. them unveil the Christ within each person that

  414. we come in contact with. Whether that be the

  415. cashier, the bank attendant, our next door neighbor,

  416. the person we classify as an enemy. May we see

  417. the Christ within them. May we begin to see them

  418. as you see them. and begin to speak to that revelation.

  419. Help us to awaken to truth and live from the

  420. place of union. In Christ's name. Amen. I hope

  421. this eight -week series has helped you, has blessed

  422. you, has helped to bring some truth to some things.

  423. I hope that's what's happened. I will see you

  424. next week as we dive into whatever the spirit

  425. will lead us next. Be blessed, my friend. See

  426. Christ in the world around you.
