Garments Cast, Generations Secured | Pastor Jesse Jernigan | 3.29.26 (Sermon - Palm Sunday)

Praise God for his goodness, y'all. I'm

ready to go to work this morning.

Anybody ready for the word? I I'm

pumped. I feel like the Lord's giving me

a word for us, for this house, um on

this beautiful Palm Sunday, start of

Holy Week, Passion Week, whatever you

want, whatever your title you give to

this week. Um but I believe it is holy

nonetheless, and God is doing incredible

things. I'll say this, don't forget

Wednesday night, um we're going to come

and have a great, incredible time with

all of our activities. Um, and then

Friday night as well for our Good Friday

service. Um, if you've not been to one

of our Good Friday services, I'm gonna

tell you, you've been missing out. God

is fixing to do some incredible things

this week. Um, we're going to start at

6:00 p.m. on Friday night. And I'm going

to tell you this. Uh, I believe that if

you come in this house on Friday and you

need God to heal your body before you

leave here, I believe God's going to

heal your body.

>> I know you're saying, "Wow, that's bold,

pastor. It's it is bold." But I serve a

really bold God, too. And I and I just

happen to believe that his word is true

and forever settled. And I don't know if

there's anybody else in the room that

really believes that too with me. But I

believe we're going to see some healing

take place in this room. So you say,

"Pastor, I I'm going to come on bring my

family." But listen, if you know

somebody who needs a healing in their

body, get them to this house. I The Lord

has given me fresh revelation from his

word. Uh and I'm just I want to preach

it right now, but I got to hold that

till Friday. It'll be all right. But I'm

going to promise you this. It's going to

unlock something you've never seen

before in scripture in a good way. Not

as like weird doctrine. I'm not talking

about that. But it's something we've

seen so many times we've skipped over.

And I believe the Lord's got a word for

us from it. So come Friday night

expecting a great time. It's going to be

incredible. How many ready for the word

today? Anybody ready for the word? All

right. Grab your Bibles. Jump to your

feet. I'm going to read about 10 verses

of scripture and then I'm going to

preach uh what I feel like the Lord has

for this moment. Take uh take and turn

with me to the book of great book of

Mark chapter number 11. Uh we're going

to start reading with verse number one.

And this is a story that uh many of you

have heard and you've heard articulated

um and the Lord has given me revelation

on this even deeper revelation you'll

hear as we go along. U but this is

literally the kickstarter for Passion

Week or Holy Week leading up to the

great resurrection of our Christ. And so

today, we want to honor this part of

scripture. And I feel like the Lord's

got a word from us for us from this part

of scripture. So when you get Markap 11,

say, "I got it."

>> The Bible says, "Now when they drew near

to Jerusalem to Beth Page and Bethany at

the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his

disciples and he said to them, "Go into

the village opposite you, and as soon as

you have entered it, you will find a

colt tied on which no one has sat." He

said, "Loose it and bring it."

And the Lord being so wise and so

amazing knew that there would be some

push back. And he said, 'If anyone says

to you, why are you doing this? He gave

them simple instruction. He said, say to

them, the Lord has need of it. And

immediately he will send it here. So

they went their way, found the colt tied

by the door outside on the street, and

they loosed it. The Bible says, "And

some of those who stood by or stood

there by them said, 'What are you doing

loosing the colt?" And watch what verse

number six says. "And they spoke to them

just as Jesus had commanded."

So they let them go. And they brought

the colt to Jesus and threw their

clothes on it, and he sat on it. And

many spread their clothes on the road.

Others cut down leafy branches from the

trees and spread them on the road. And

this says, "Then those who went before

him, who followed, cried out, saying,

hosana, blessed is he who comes in the

name of the Lord." They said, "Blessed

is the kingdom of our father David that

comes in the name of the Lord." He said,

"Hosana

in the highest." Can somebody just say

that with me? YOU READY? HOSANA in the

highest.

>> One more time. Hosana in the highest.

Today I want to zero in on just this

little portion where it talks about in

verse number uh verse number eight. And

many spread their clothes on the road.

And many spread their clothes on the

road. Today I want to preach on this

thought. Garments surrendered,

generations secured.

garments surrendered, generations

secure. Will you pray with me? Father, I

thank you for your goodness, your mercy,

your grace. I thank you for the power of

your word. Lord, it's forever settled.

And today, Lord, we do not doubt your

word. We do not uh uh come against your

word or try to uh bring a rebuttal to

it. All we do is say yes, Lord, and we

receive it. We thank you for what you're

doing. Speak to us through your word

now, and we'll give you praise in Jesus

name we pray. And everybody says,

"Amen." And amen. You may be seated in

the presence of the Lord. If I can get

just a little help on on the monitors,

maybe a little bit more of my mic in the

monitors would be precious. Would be

beautiful. And then if you don't mind,

raise it up just a little bit in the

house and I'll adjust with my with my

handheld. Garments surrendered,

generations

secured.

This moment that we read in this great

book of Mark and is recorded also in

other gospels as well. Uh begins passion

week or this is Palm Sunday recorded in

the word of God that we see. Jesus is

entering Jerusalem

uh during this time of Passover and we

see a beautiful picture in the word of

God of what uh truly took place in that

moment and how this story really began.

Uh you can imagine with me during this

Passover time a a small uh uh walledin

city like Jerusalem would be swelled by

tens of thousands if not hundreds of

thousands of people at a time would come

to celebrate this beautiful feast that

was there this time uh of celebrating

the mass exodus of the people of God

from Egypt. And they came together for

one reason and that was to honor a great

God who brought them out of a desperate

situation. And I want to ask you this

morning, how many still thankful you

have a great God that brought you out of

some desperate situations? Come on. I I

I just I cannot help but thank God for

the fact that I once was lost in sin,

but then Jesus, he brought me into his

fold. Come on, somebody. I'm thankful

for the salvation that came through the

cross of Christ. And on this beautiful

Palm Sunday, I cannot help but REFLECT

AND THANK GOD FOR what is going on in

this picture. We see this celebration

beginning to take place. But the

population swelled into the hundreds of

thousands of people packing into that

beautiful city. AND YOU CAN IMAGINE THE

EXCITEMENT, the uh the thrill, the

electricity that filled uh the city and

all the people during that time because

it wasn't just a traditional Passover.

They had great expectation that a

Messiah was going to come and deliver

them at this specific one. What you

understand AND WHAT WE SEE THROUGH

SCRIPTURE IS IT WASN'T JUST SOMETHING

THAT took place. It was a MOMENT IN

HISTORY WHERE A PEOPLE HAD AN

OPPORTUNITY to identify THE ONE WHO WAS

REALLY COMING TO SET THEM FREE IN THE

MIDST OF CELEBRATING A GOD WHO BROUGHT

THEM OUT OF EGYPT. BUT BECAUSE OF THEIR

APATHY SPIRITUALLY, THEY MISSED THE FACT

THAT THE SAVIOR, THE MESSIAH was

standing right in front of them. Because

you see during that time there was so

much uh Roman rule and Roman oppression

that WAS GOING ON THAT THE PEOPLE OF GOD

COULDN'T HELP BUT JUST PUT THEIREL IN A

CARNAL MINDSET INSTEAD of an eternal

mindset THINKING THAT MY MESSIAH IS

GOING TO RIDE IN on a waror and he's

GOING TO COME WITH A ARMY THAT IS

EQUIPPED TO THE HILT AND THEY'RE GOING

TO SHOW UP AND THEY'RE GOING TO

OVERTHROW THE ROMAN GOVERNMENT AND BRING

me peace and LET ME DWELL IN THIS THIS

WONDERFUL LAND THAT I CALL HOME. AND

IT'S GOING TO BE A PHYSICAL DELIVERANCE.

AND WHAT THEY HAD IS THEY HAD THEIR MIND

ON THIS ONE SPECIFIC THOUGHT PROCESS

THROUGH A CARNAL MINDSET and they

unfortunately missed the fact that the

Messiah was standing right in front of

them. How many times in our life DO WE

EXPECT GOD TO SHOW UP IN ONE WAY, BUT HE

SHOWS up in another way and we ignore it

because it wasn't what we wanted?

>> Come on. I know I'm preaching right here

at the beginning. It's going to get

better. All right. These are turbulent

airs. This is taking off right now from

the airport and it's a little bumpy. But

I promise if you hang with me, we're

going somewhere good. Because I'm gonna

tell you this, when God answers, he

doesn't answer based off your

preference.

>> All right? He doesn't HE DOESN'T ANSWER

BASED OFF WHAT I WANT IS NOT REALLY IN

THE CALCULATION OF GOD. AND SOME PEOPLE

SAY, "WELL, HE'S GOING TO GIVE ME THE

DESIRES OF MY HEART, PASTOR." AND THEY

TAKE THAT T THAT TEXT OUT OF CONTEXT AND

SAY, "GOD'S GOING TO GIVE ME EVERYTHING

THAT I WANT." NO, NO, NO. THAT'S NOT

WHAT HE'S SAYING. WHEN OUR HEART IS

REALLY IN LINE WITH WHO GOD IS, THE

DESIRES THAT ARE ON THE INSIDE OF US

WILL SHIFT FROM WHAT WE WANT IN THE

NATURAL TO WHAT GOD DESIRES FOR US IN

THE SPIRITUAL. AND THEN WE'LL CATCH A

VISION OF WHO HE IS. AND THEN YES, MY

DESIRES WILL BE FULFILLED BECAUSE THEN

MY DESIRES LINE UP WITH THE DESIRES OF

MY HEAVENLY FATHER. COME ON. ANYBODY IN

HERE SAY, "I WANT GOD'S WILL FOR MY

LIFE. NO MATTER WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, NO

MATTER WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE, NO MATTER

WHERE IT COMES FROM, I JUST NEED AN

ANSWER ON A SUNDAY." DOES ANYBODY ELSE

FEEL THAT SAME WAY TODAY? SAY, "PASTOR,

I DON'T NEED THE FLUFF. I JUST NEED GOD

TO SHOW UP AND ANSWER."

>> Look at your neighbor and tell them

that's I need God to show up.

I don't need somebody TO DANCE AROUND

THEOLOGY AND MAKE ME FEEL GOOD. I NEED

SOMEBODY TO LOOK AT ME AND SAY, "CAN

JESUS REALLY BRING ME OUT OF THE MESS

THAT I'M IN? OR DOES HE NOT HAVE THE

POWER TO DO IT?" I'VE COME TO GIVE YOU

SOME GOOD NEWS THIS MORNING. CAN I

PREACH FOR JUST A SECOND? YOU MAY HAVE

WALKED IN HERE TODAY AND YOU MAY HAVE

BEEN BOUND WHEN YOU WALKED IN, BUT I'M

GOING TO TELL YOU, I SERVE A GOD WHO

WILL NOT LEAVE YOU THAT WAY, BUT HE'S

ABLE TO DELIVER YOU. HE'S ABLE TO SET

YOU FREE. HE'S ABLE TO PUT YOUR FEET

BACK ON A ROCK. IS THERE ANYBODY THAT

HAS THAT TESTIMONY TODAY THAT SAYS,

"PASTOR, HE DID IT FOR ME. AND IF HE DID

IT FOR ME, HE'LL DO IT FOR SOMEBODY

ELSE." I DARE YOU RIGHT NOW TO GIVE HIM

PRAISE. IF YOU KNOW HE'S A DELIVERER,

HE'S A WAY MAKER. HE'S A CHAIN BREAKER.

HE'S AN ANOINTED FATHER WHO WILL STEP

INTO MY MESS AND BRING RESOLUTION TO IT

CUZ HE is able.

>> He's able.

>> THE OPPRESSION WAS SO severe that all

the people could do is look for a

military messiah.

That's all they were looking for. They

didn't want to look anywhere else. And

you would expect a military messiah to

gather weapons and warriors and show up

with body armor. Come on, somebody.

>> And and and and riding on a waror.

>> But to flip THE SCRIPT ON THEM, WATCH

WHAT JESUS DID WHEN HE WAS GETTING ready

to bring his triumphal entry to do away

with the enemy in the kingdom of

darkness. What did he do? The scripture

records it. He said he told two of his

disciples, "Go into the city of the

village opposite you." He said, "When

you get there, immediately when you go

in, you're going to see a colt tied up."

>> He said, "Loose that baby. Bring it to

me."

Now, if he's prepared FOR MILITARY

BATTLE, HE WOULD HAVE SAID, "Go find the

biggest, baddest waror you can find.

Bring me back a sword that's better than

the sword of Goliath. Bring me back some

armor to put on cuz we're about to wreak

havoc on Rome. We're about to take them

down. THIS ROMAN OPPRESSION, THIS THIS

MESS THAT'S GOING ON, WE'RE ABOUT TO

TAKE CARE OF THIS. BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT

GOD DID. HE SAID HE sent his disciples

to go find a donkey.

>> I'll be honest, if there WAS SOME

DISCIPLES THAT HAD THE the mindset of

everybody else in the Jewish culture,

they probably were a little confused,

too, thinking, I thought we were going

to overthrow the government officials

and we were about to bring resolution to

this. But he said, NO. HE SAID, NOT JUST

ANY CULT. WHEN YOU GO THERE, I WANT YOU

TO FIND ONE that has not been sat on

before.

Very specific in HIS UNDERSTANDING AND

HIS THOUGHT PROCESS. SO, NOT ONLY WAS IT

A DONKEY HE WAS LOOKING FOR, IT WAS ALSO

A young and an inexperienced donkey he

was looking for.

>> Oh, man. That that makes me feel good.

Come on, somebody.

>> Woo. If he was looking for that back

then, I'm thankful he's still looking

for it today. Can I get an amen?

>> And everybody else is too holy to say

amen to that right there. Say, I got all

the experience in the world. Let me tell

you, compared to Jesus, you got no

experience. Come on. Oh, come on,

somebody. So, I'm gonna say this right

here. I feel like releasing this

prophetic word over a bunch of young

people, but I'm gonna say this not just

over a generational number, like as far

as the age of young people. I'm talking

about those that are brand new and those

that are infant in their faith and those

that have been renewed by the presence

of God for this last day outpouring. I

want to tell you, God is not looking for

somebody who has been tarnished by the

religiosity of this world. He is looking

for somebody who is pure, who has not

been messed up. Who, come on, somebody

who's not going to be convinced. You got

to do it just A, B, C, AND D JUST LIKE

EVERYBODY ELSE USED TO DO IT. NO. GOD IS

LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY THAT WOULD SAY, "I

DON'T CARE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. JESUS,

JUST GET ON ME RIGHT NOW AND LET ME

RIDE. LET ME BRING THE SAVIOR INTO THE

ROOM." IS THERE ANYBODY THAT WOULD SAY,

"I DON'T WANT ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN

TO BRING THE SAVIOR TO THE ROOM." I KNOW

I GOT SOME FAMILY THAT'S JACKED UP, BUT

ALL I WANT TO DO IS BE A CARRIER FOR THE

SAVIOR. IS ANYBODY IN THE ROOM THAT

WOULD SAY, "I'LL STAY PURE. I'LL STAY

PLIABLE. I'LL STAY USABLE. EVEN IF I'M A

DONKEY, I'LL CARRY THE SAVIOR."

>> SO, WHAT JESUS REALLY DID WAS TOLD HIS

DISCIPLES IN THAT MOMENT, HE SAID, "I

WANT YOU TO GET YOUR SMARTPHONE OUT AND

I WANT YOU TO GO TO ROYAL UBER and I

want you to go CHECK OUT THIS DONKEY

THAT I need so bad."

>> HE SAID, "GO GET THEM AND BRING THEM TO

ME." HE INSTRUCTED THEM TO LOOSE IT AND

BRING IT TO HIM. And if anybody had

anything to say, look at them and say,

"The Lord has need of it."

>> The Lord has need of it. Can I tell you,

we have to dissect this a little bit

this morning. Can I Can I go a little

deeper with this and show you what's

going on till we can get gain

understanding why a cult and not a

warready horse? And why a cult that has

never been ridden on before? Because

Jesus is deliberately fulfilling the

prophecy out of Zechariah chapter 9

Zechariah 9 · chapter mention

where he said, "Behold, your king is

coming lowly and riding on a donkey."

>> How did they miss that?

>> There it is. YOUR KING IS COMING NOT ON

A WAROR, BUT HE'S COMING RIDING ON A

LOWLY DONKEY. CAN I TELL YOU THAT KINGS

rode war or rode horses during war, but

they rode donkeys in times of peace?

That's right.

>> Jesus is declaring to them THAT ARE

AROUND HIM, IF THEY'LL HAVE EYES TO SEE

AND NOT LOOK SO MUCH THROUGH FLESHLY

EYES OR THROUGH CARNAL EYES, HE WAS

TELLING THEM, "I AM THE KING, BUT NOT

THE KING THAT YOU WERE EXPECTING to show

up."

>> Woo! Come on, somebody. CAN I TELL YOU?

THEY MAY NOT HAVE EXPECTED him to come

and SET THEM FREE FROM THE SINS OF THEIR

PAST AND THEIR SINS OF THEIR

FOREFATHERS, BUT THAT'S THE REASON WHY

JESUS CAME. THE KING, HE DOESN'T ARRIVE

LIKE DAVID DID. DAVID came in with a

pomp AND CIRCUMSTANCE. THE PEOPLE ARE

SHOUTING FOR DELIVERANCE FROM A A ROMAN

OPPOSITION AND A ROMAN OPPRESSION AND

FROM THE UNWILLINGNESS TO BE ABLE TO

SERVE AGAINST THEM. BUT I WANT YOU TO

UNDERSTAND, EVEN IN THE MIDST OF WHAT

THEY WERE LOOKING FOR, HEAVEN IS SETTING

THEM UP TO BE FREE FROM THE PENALTY OF

SIN. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I AM

THANKFUL TODAY THAT A SAVIOR SAID, "I

DON'T CARE WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE IS

EXPECTING. I'M NOT GOING TO GO WITH THE

EXPECTATIONS OF MEN BECAUSE I KNOW IN

2026 THERE IS A GROUP OF PEOPLE SITTING

INSIDE OF A BUILDING IN BAKER, FLORIDA

THAT NEED ME TO BRING A SAVING KNOWLEDGE

TO THEIR HEART AND TO THEIR LIFE. I

DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'M THANKFUL

HE SET ME FREE FROM MY SINS. IS ANYBODY

ELSE THANKFUL TODAY? 1 2 3. GIVE HIM A

LITTLE PRAISE in the house.

So, WE SAY, "THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR THE

FACT THAT WE'VE BEEN SET FREE." AMEN.

>> But I want you to understand, he didn't

come to deliver them from oppression, he

came to deliver them from sin.

>> And today, the fact is,

not only was he riding it on a donkey to

promote peace, but he was riding on a

donkey that had never been ridden

before. It was undefiled. It was

untarnished by the things around it. It

was pure in its standing. Can I tell you

that God when he is looking for someone

to use, he is looking for someone who's

been undefiled by the world, untarnished

by religion, and pure in their heart.

>> Come on. I believe it's time to bring

holiness back to the church again.

>> Uh oh. Come on, somebody. I got about

five amens. I may need to hang tight

right there for a little bit. Brian, I

don't know. Maybe you Hey, it's going to

be all right. I know you got my back,

baby. We good. I'm going to tell you

this right now. Holiness is still right

in the kingdom of God.

>> Oh, come on. Can I preach it like this?

It still matters what you watch on TV.

>> Oh, hey everybody. How y'all doing?

Welcome to Palm Sunday. Here we go. It

still matters what you watch on

television. IT STILL MATTERS WHAT you

put in your ears and you listen to all

week long. Come on, somebody. It still

matters what site you go to on your

phone and on your computer, sir and

ma'am. Come on, SOMEBODY. IT STILL

MATTERS HOW YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR

NEIGHBOR.

My God of heaven, I feel like preaching

Randy is about to be wild up in this

thing cuz I'm just looking for some

people that'll say yes to holiness. Cuz

if I can get some people to say YES TO

HOLINESS, THEN I CAN GET A GOD TO SAY

YES TO THIS HOUSE AND SAY I'LL SEND MY

SPIRIT EVERY TIME YOU COME TOGETHER.

HE'S LOOKING FOR A PEOPLE THAT'LL SAY NO

TO THE WORLD AND SAY YES TO HIM. THEY'LL

SAY NO TO THE THINGS OF THE WORLD AND

SAY YES TO HIM. HE'LL MAKE US RIGHTEOUS

IN HIS EYES. HE'LL TAKE OUR MESS AND

HE'LL MAKE IT A MIRACLE IF WE'LL SAY YES

TO HIM.

>> HELLO.

>> AMEN.

>> I said it's THE TRUTH.

>> BECAUSE WE HAVE DRIFTED SO FAR AWAY TO

THINK THAT WE SERVE A GOD AND WE HAVE A

GOSPEL THAT WILL ALLOW US TO DO WHATEVER

WE WANT TO DO AND GET AWAY WITH IT.

THAT'S NOT TRUE.

>> HEAR THIS PREACHER. I'M NOT HERE TO MAKE

YOU FEEL GREAT. I'M HERE TO GET YOU

READY FOR HEAVEN.

I'M HERE TO LET YOU KNOW THERE IS A

PATH. YOU GOT TO WALK IN IT. THERE IS A

WAY TO DO THIS THING AND WE HAVE TO LINE

UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD. I'M NOT TALKING

ABOUT THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO BE

PERFECT every moment of every day cuz

you are human and you never will. THE

ONLY ONE WHO WAS EVER PERFECT. Can I

just get this out real quick? WAS JESUS

CHRIST AND NOBODY ELSE IS GOING TO live

up TO THAT STANDARD. BUT HE EXPECTS US

TO CONDUCT OURSEL IN CIR

CIRCUMSPECTFULLY ACCORDING TO THE WORD

OF GOD AND SAY, "GOD, HOW DO YOU WANT ME

TO LIVE? HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO SPEAK?

HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO THINK AND ACT IN

THIS LIFE?

>> Because your testimony matters.

>> Hello.

>> Your testimony matters.

>> Can you imagine in this house? Can you

imagine in this house how the fact that

we would be in this situation where

somebody who who goes around and they're

they're doing drugs or they're smoking,

they're drinking, all these different

stuff, and they come to say, "I'm going

to pray that God will break the

addiction off of your life."

>> It don't work that way. Come on,

somebody.

>> I refuse to be INTOXICATED BY STUFF THAT

GOD called me to cast out of people.

>> Come on, somebody. Come on. I still

believe that we ought to. Come on. I I'm

I got to get off of this thing for a

second. But let me tell you this. We

still ought to live right and spit

white. Can I get an amen in the house?

>> All right.

Listen, I ain't never seen nothing good

come out of drinking alcohol.

>> I've watched too many men of God in

ministry that compromise in that state.

And they allowed that compromise to be

in the back door. Before you know it,

they were in the middle of adultery.

They were divorced and they lost

everything that God had given to them.

>> You say, "What's one sip, pastor? It'll

be all right." Let me tell you

something.

>> Don't let the enemy convince you that

compromise is not going to take you down

a road you don't want to go.

>> Today, I'm not here to put you on blast.

I'm here to call you higher.

>> There is a better way.

>> Because when you walk in holiness, guess

what? You've got God's full attention.

>> Come on, somebody. He will be right

there with you. Now, I don't even know

where I was at. I don't know what that

meant, but take it or leave it. There it

is. They Here it is. They found the cult

tied by the door outside on the street.

The Bible says, showing the fact that it

is possible to be pure in heart and

still be tied up by the world.

>> Come on, somebody.

The cult was pure but still tied up. The

cult was pure, but it was still stuck

because of what other people said to it.

The cult was pure, but it was still

forgotten about because it was only

following what it had already seen.

>> Come on, somebody. Woo. These words

reveal something powerful to me that

even though I'm stuck, I want you to

know that you and I are necessary to the

kingdom of God.

>> I want to say this to you. You may say,

"Well, pastor, I feel stuck this

morning. I feel like I'm out of place. I

feel like I've been forgotten." Let me

tell you, you are important and you are

vital and necessary to the kingdom OF

GOD THIS MORNING. DO NOT LET THE ENEMY

tell you you're not. I'm here today to

fight the enemy while I'm preaching. To

pull YOU OUT OF DARKNESS, TO PULL YOU

out of a stuck position, to pull you out

of forgotten into remembered. And today,

I believe God's going to anoint me to do

it. BUT YOU AND I are necessary for the

kingdom of God. He has and he has a need

SEEING MAMA STUCK DAILY AND TIED DAILY

THAT THE CULT NEVER KNEW FREEDOM, NEVER

KNEW WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE TO BE FREE. ALL

THE CULT SAW WAS BONDAGE. AND I WANT TO

MORNING. COULD IT be he didn't need a

rope to keep him tied TO HIS MAMA

BECAUSE HIS IDENTITY WAS ALREADY TIED TO

WHO SHE WAS AND THE FACT THAT SHE WAS

BOUND BEFORE THE ROPE. I WANT YOU TO SEE

THIS BECAME MORE THAN A PHYSICAL ROPE

THAT WAS ON THAT CULT THAT WAS MENTIONED

IN MATTHEW CHAPTER NUMBER I FORGET WHAT

CHAPTER IT WAS BUT MATTHEW THE BOOK OF

MATTHEW. IT WAS THE ROPE THAT WAS MORE

THAN PHYSICAL. IT WAS A MENTAL,

EMOTIONAL AND INHERITED ROPE. I WANT YOU

TO SEE THIS. THIS CULT THAT WAS BESIDE

HIS MOM. IT NURSED BY THE ROPE. IT SLEPT

BY THE ROPE. IT LIVED BY THE ROPE. AND I

WANT YOU TO SEE THIS. WHAT STARTED AS

HER BONDAGE BECAME HIS IDENTITY.

>> OH, come on. I can I deal WITH SOME

GENERATIONAL CURSES RIGHT NOW. THERE ARE

MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE CHILDREN THAT HAVE

NEVER TASTED FREEDOM BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS

STAYED BOUND TO THE ROPE. SOMEBODY HAS

STAYED BOUND TO THE ALCOHOL. SOMEBODY

HAS STAYED BOUND TO THE DRUGS. SOMEBODY

HAS STAYED BOUND TO THE PORNOGRAPHY. AND

ALL THAT NEXT GENERATION KNOWS IS A MAMA

OR A DADDY THAT'S BEEN TIED UP, THAT'S

BEEN STUCK, AND THAT'S BEEN FORGOTTEN.

BUT I'VE COME TODAY TO LET YOU KNOW THAT

IDENTITY DON'T HAVE TO WALK OUT THAT

DOOR WITH YOU TODAY. I BELIEVE IN A

BONDAGE BREAKER. I BELIEVE IN A CHAIN

BREAKER. I BELIEVE IN A GOD WHO CAN SET

COME ON. WHO CAN SET SOME FOLK FREE

TODAY. IS THERE ANYBODY THAT WOULD GIVE

GOD PRAISE FOR THE FACT HE CAN BREAK

GENERATIONAL CURSES? AND I SAY, GOD, DO

IT IN THIS HOUSE. 1 2 3. GIVE HIM PRAISE

IN THAT. OH, come on. YOU'RE PRAISING

YOU'RE PREACHING, PASTOR. AND I BELIEVE

THERE AND speak in their own words.

Jesus told them to go and speak in his

words as he commanded. SO I WANT YOU TO

UNDERSTAND THIS THAT IN IN THIS MOMENT

WHAT STARTED as her bondage BECAME HIS

IDENTITY. BUT WATCH THIS. One word from

the savior will set you free in Jesus

name. Oh come on. I declare that one

word from the SAVIOR WILL SET SOMEBODY

FREE. THE BIBLE SAYS THEY LOOKED TO HIM

AND they loosed THE CULT AND THEY

BROUGHT HIM BACK. AND I WANT TO DECLARE

SOMEBODY IN THIS HOUSE IS ABOUT TO LEAVE

THIS PLACE FREE IN Jesus name.

assignment today not to play games but

to see him do his great and mighty work

>> The warning though is this.

The warning is this. Once you have taste

of freedom and you have uh severed ties

from whatever it is that has you bound,

there will be resistance that comes to

your life after freedom.

>> This is what we don't tell people who

come and get saved. WE'RE LIKE, "OH

YEAH, THEY GOT SAVED. PRAISE GOD." WELL,

they would let him go out there to the

wolves. No, the devil is a liar.

>> When you come get saved, listen, the

enemy, he was just placating you when

you was living in the world because he

was happy you were with him. But the

moment you change teams,

>> come on, somebody. The moment you swap

teams and said yes to Jesus and no to

the devil, can I tell you that fired up

every devil in hell and they're going to

try to talk you out of it, try to push

you out of it. BUT I'M GOING TO TELL YOU

TODAY, YOU GET hear this WARNING FROM

YOUR PASTOR. I LOVE YOU. BUT WHEN you

make up your mind, you're going to serve

God with all your heart. The devil is

not going to like it. He's not GOING TO

BE HAPPY ABOUT IT. HE'S GOING TO FIGHT

AGAINST YOUR LIFE AND HE'S GOING TO TELL

YOU YOU SHOULD BACK OFF AND NEVER DO IT

AGAIN. HOW DOES THAT PLAY OUT IN THIS

SCRIPTURE? THESE YOUNG MEN THAT WERE

THERE, THE DISCIPLES WENT AND the Bible

says that they untied the colt and they

loosed him. And the people THAT WERE

STANDING AROUND SAID, "HEY, WHY ARE YOU

LOOSENING THE COLT? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU

ARE?" AND I WANT TO TELL YOU IN THAT

MOMENT, THEY PROBABLY had a little bit

of uhoh. We about to get in. It's going

about to be rowdy rowdy right here. We

Jesus told us to go get this cult and

bring it back. But these people said,

"YOU CANNOT HAVE THIS." CUZ WHEN GOD

GIVES YOU A WORD AND YOU ACT ON IT, THE

enemy is going to try to raise this

gnarly little head UP AND SAY, "YOU WILL

NOT." HOW DOES THAT PLAY OUT IN MY LIFE?

THAT'S WHEN YOU GET SAVED, PEOPLE SAY,

"WELL, I don't even know who you are

anymore."

>> Well, YOU LISTEN, EVERY TIME THE CHURCH

IS OPEN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO that

church.

>> Hello.

>> When you get really radically saved,

ain't nothing going to keep you out of

the house of God. I'm just going to be

honest with you.

>> It's a non-negotiable for me and my

family. That's not just because we

pastor this house. Every time the doors

open, we going to try our best to be

here come hell or high water because we

want to make sure we're in the presence

of the king. But the enemy will raise

his head up again and say something like

this right here AFTER YOU GET SAVED. I

LIKED YOU BETTER WHEN YOU WEREN'T SAVED.

>> Anybody ever heard those statements

before for some folk you ran with? Come

on. It's all right to be honest THIS

MORNING. BUT WHAT DID THE DISCIPLES DO?

THE DISCIPLES, THEY DID NOT get into a

PLACE WHERE THEY TRIED TO USE THEIR OWN

WORDS TO combat the enemy. No, no, no.

The Bible SAYS THAT THEY SPOKE the same

thing as God commanded, as Jesus had

commanded them to say. I I JUST HAVE TO

DO THIS FOR some folks IN THE HOUSE AND

YOU'LL GET THIS REFERENCE. THEY HAD A

MOMENT IN THEIR LIFE WHERE THEY STOPPED

FOR A SECOND AND LOOKED AT EACH other

and said, "Remember your training."

>> Come on. IT'S TRUE.

>> REMEMBER YOUR TRAINING. I DON'T KNOW

WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THIS

SITUATION. YES, WE DO. THE BIBLE SAID IN

VERSE NUMBER, I THINK IT'S LIKE FIVE OR

SIX, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. HE SAID TO

LOOK AT THEM AND SAY, "THIS IS WHAT I

WANT YOU TO SAY. THIS I HAVE NEED OF

THIS. THE MASTER HAS NEED OF IT. THIS IS

WHAT THEY SPOKE TO THEM. SO THE BIBLE

SAYS THE DISCIPLES WHEN THEY RECEIVED

OPPOSITION, THEY SPOKE THE SAME THING

that Jesus had commanded them. They

didn't try their words. They used his

words.

>> Come on. I'm going TO GO A STEP FURTHER

THAN THIS. HE DIDN'T JUST SAY IT. Jesus

led by example.

>> How did Jesus lead by example? YOU GO

BACK TO UH MATTHEW CHAPTER number four

when he was taken into the wilderness or

driven into the wilderness by the Holy

SPIRIT AND HE FASTED FOR 40 DAYS AND 40

NIGHTS. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT THE ENEMY

CAME TO HIM, THE DEVIL came to him three

different times, giving him opportunity

TO BACK OUT AND DENY THAT HE WAS THE SON

OF GOD. WHAT DID JESUS DO? Jesus didn't

say, "Get away from me, you loser. Yeah,

I DON'T EVEN LIKE YOU." NO, HE LOOKED AT

THE DEVIL HIMSELF AND SAID, "IT is

written."

>> Come on, somebody. HE DID NOT USE

ANYBODY ELSE'S WORDS OTHER THAN THE WORD

OF GOD. GUESS WHAT? THE WORD WAS USING

THE WORD against the enemy. AND THE

ENEMY HAD TO BOW AT THE WORD. AND I WANT

TO TELL YOU, IF YOU REMEMBER THAT

THERE'S MORE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS

THAN ANY OTHER NAME THAN WHEN THE ENEMY

COMES IN AND SAYS, "I LIKED YOU BETTER

WHEN YOU WERE BOUND." JUST LOOK AT HIM

AND SAY, "IT IS WRITTEN, HE WHO IS FREE

IS FREE INDEED." IS THERE ANYBODY FREE

IN THE HOUSE TODAY THAT'LL GIVE GOD A

LITTLE PRAISE FOR THE FACT THAT IT IS

WRITTEN BY THE HAND OF GOD? OH, COME ON.

GIVE GOD PRAISE IN THE HOUSE.

>> USE THE word against the enemy.

>> You say, "Well, I'm not too well verssed

in the word." Get versed in the word.

>> Say, "I'm waiting on you, pastor. Teach

me. Teach me how to do it." No. Pick

your word up for yourself tomorrow.

>> Amen.

>> And understand what it says about you

and the promises it speaks over you and

your family.

If you're waiting just for a Sunday hit

and a Sunday high,

>> I'll be honest with you, you're really

viewing Jesus as your sugar daddy and

not your savior.

>> Hey, I like shouting as much as the next

person. We going to get rowdy. We're

going to get crazy. We're going to do

whatever it takes to give God praise.

But I am not here after a hit or after a

high. That's what drug addicts do.

>> Come on, somebody. But a disciple gets

in the word and says, "No matter what

weather comes, no matter what, come on.

No matter what the doctor says, I am

rooted and grounded in one thing, and

that is the words of my savior. And the

enemy cannot move me, cannot stop me,

come on. Cannot thwart me, cannot derail

me, cannot discourage me, CANNOT PUT

ANXIETY ON ME. I REFUSE TO RECEIVE

DEPRESSION FROM THE ENEMY WHEN THE JOY

OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH. I REFUSE TO

RECEIVE the report OF THE ENEMY, WHEN

GOD'S ALREADY TOLD ME I'M HEALED. I

REFUSE TO DO ALL THOSE THINGS BECAUSE MY

BIBLE SAYS I CAN HAVE ALL THAT. IT'S THE

CHILDREN'S BREAD. IT'S FOR ME AND IT'S

for you. SOMEBODY HOLLER. IT IS WRITTEN.

>> It is written. So, so hear me this

morning.

When he spoke the words, it is written.

Get on verse number 11 of that chapter,

Matthew 4, I think it is 11 or 12. He

said, "Then the devil left him and

angels came and ministered to him."

>> When you speak the word, the enemy can't

stick around. And watch this. Peace,

which is represented by these angels,

showed up in their life.

>> You want peace in your life? Speak the

word over your family.

>> Amen.

>> Speak the word over your situation and

watch God move every mountain and every

enemy out of the way. Yes.

>> Now verse 7 and 8 records something

special

>> that happened. The Bible says that they

spread clothes on the road. Others cut

down leafy branches. This is where we

have the palm branches on Palm Sunday,

right? We get out here and we wave all

these things. But I want to bring it

down and said he spread them. They they

took both of these elements, the clothes

and the leafy branches, the palm

branches, and spread them on the road.

But let's zero in on the garments here

if you will. The spreading of garments

represented or are represented two

different things that were taking place

in that moment. Number one was surrender

of self.

>> These garments represented surrender of

self, but they also represented the

declaration of kingship in that moment.

The garments literally represented a

covering. It represented the comfort of

those that were there. It may have

represented status. Remember the story

of Joseph? He was made a coat of many

colors. his clothes, his coat that he

had represented his status. It their

their coat or their clothes would also

represent their possessions. But the

biggest thing it did that wrapped up all

those things at a ONE IS THOSE GARMENTS

THAT THEY WORE that they lay to the feet

of the savior represented their

identity. They were h that in this

moment, THIS ACT OF SPREADING THESE

GARMENTS on the road, they were humbling

themselves IN THE PRESENCE OF THE true

king of kings and the lord of lords.

BECAUSE TO BE CONNECTED to the king, you

must be surrendered to the king.

>> Come on, somebody. They laid down their

garments of identity AND PRAISE. WATCH

THIS. BECAUSE TRUE PRAISE begins where

self ends.

>> Oh, come on now.

>> True praise begins where self ends. If

you still have yourself in the midst of

praise, it's not really praise.

>> Come on.

This is where WE HAVE TO PUSH FLESH

BACK. NOW UNDERSTAND THIS. Sometimes we

have to start in the flesh to praise

God.

>> Come on. We have to start there because

we may not feel like praising God when

we walk in. If can I just talk to some

real people? There's sometimes we walk

in here and I don't feel like lifting my

hands. But then the worship leader said,

"Lift your hands." Well, fine.

We'll get him.

You know what he'll say to me? He say,

"Well, I learned from the best.

We may NOT COME IN AND FEEL LIKE HUGGING

somebody

>> cuz we've had a ROUGH WEEK.

>> I DON'T FEEL LIKE PRAYING TODAY.

>> I I DON'T I DON'T FEEL LIKE READING MY

BIBLE TODAY. BUT ALL OF THESE ARE

ELEMENTS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP IN OUR

LIFE. AND CAN I TELL YOU THAT A REAL

PRAISE AND A REAL WORSHIP ONLY STARTS

WHERE OUR SELF ENDS.

>> WE'VE GOT TO PUT OURSEL IN THE BACK

BURN. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THERE ARE SOME

WEEKS I DON'T FEEL LIKE STANDING UP HERE

AND PREACHING.

>> Y'all sitting there thinking, "Oh my

god, my preacher wants to quit." No, I

don't want to quit.

No, I ain't saying that. BUT THERE ARE

SOME DAYS IT TAKES EVERYTHING I CAN JUST

TO EVEN GET HERE TO THIS PULL PIT. I MAY

NOT EVEN HAVE EVERYTHING THAT I WANT ON

A PAPER TO PREACH TO YOU. I MAY NOT HAVE

IT MAY HAVE BEEN AN ABSOLUTE CRAZY WEEK

WITH NO SLEEP AND CHAOS AND ALL THESE

THINGS AND EVERYBODY'S PROBLEMS ALL AT

ONE TIME. I MAY NOT FEEL LIKE STANDING

UP HERE AND PREACHING, BUT WHEN I PUT

MYSELF to death,

>> come on, somebody. WHEN I PUT MYSELF TO

DEATH AND SAY, "BOY, IT AIN'T ABOUT YOU.

PULL UP YOUR BOOTSTRAPS, KICK YOUR TAIL

IN THAT PULLPIT, AND YOU PREACH MY WORD

BECAUSE I'VE GOT A PROMISE ON THE OTHER

SIDE OF MY OBEDIENCE. THERE'S ABOUT TO

BE AN UNLOCKED FREEDOM THAT'S GOING TO

COME TO THIS HOUSE." AND I WANT TO TELL

YOU THAT THERE ARE TIMES WE GOT TO PUT

OURSEL TO DEATH AND SAY, "I REFUSE TO

LET MYSELF DICTATE THE PROMISES OF GOD

OVER my life.

My praise will outweigh myself."

>> Look at your neighbor. Say, "Praise them

anyways."

>> Watch this. Their praise wasn't casual.

It was desperate dependence because they

needed to be rescued.

Now, their praise was headed in another

direction. They're like, "Oh, baby, we

about to never have to pay taxes again."

>> Come on. I'm just being honest. That's

what they were feeling. Like, all that

time Roman took our those Romans took

our taxes, we about to teach them a

little thing or two. Come on.

>> Come on. And somebody's saying, "Praise

God. Let's get rid of taxes in America."

Hallelujah. That'd be great. I'm going

to tell you something. Their praise was

directed in a carnal way. But today, our

praise should be directed in a spiritual

way.

>> Hear me in this house. They their their

cry was desperate because they were

dependent on somebody to come and save

them. Their cry became, watch this,

authentic after they displayed full

surrender.

Because surrender gave their praise

substance.

You can watch somebody that praises and

they're not fully surrendered. And you

can watch somebody who praises and they

are and you can tell a difference.

>> It's just the truth. You can tell a

difference. Bible says this. So they

cried something specific in that moment.

THEY CRIED HOSANA. SOMEBODY SAY HOSANA.

>> He said blessed is he WHO COMES IN THE

NAME OF THE LORD. HOSANA LITERALLY MEANS

WHEN YOU TRANSLITERATE IT ALL THE WAY

DOWN IT MEANS SAVE NOW WE PRAY. SO WHAT

THEY WERE SAYING TO THE KING WHEN HE WAS

WALKING OR RIDING ON THAT COLT INTO THE

INTO JERUSALEM FOR THE PASSOVER IS THEY

WERE HOLLERING SAVE NOW WE PRAY RIGHT

DON'T WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK DO IT TODAY WE

NEED YOU TODAY CAN I TELL YOU YOU'RE

GOING TO COME ACROSS PEOPLE WHETHER THEY

KNOW IT OR NOT THEY ARE SAYING SAVE ME

NOW I PRAY I NEED GOD TO INTERVENE in my

life

>> they may NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND FULLY WHAT

THEY'RE ASKING FOR BUT IF YOU ALLOW GOD

TO COME AND SHOW UP. HE WILL SAVE THEM.

NOW, WATCH THIS. THEIR PRAISE CAME FROM

A PLACE OF DEEP REVELATION. THEY DIDN'T

LAY THEIR GARMENTS DOWN BECAUSE THEY

FELT SOMETHING. THEY LAID THEIR GARMENTS

DOWN BECAUSE they recognize someone.

>> And I want you to see this. They said

with their praise, "You, the guy on the

donkey, are the one we've been looking

for this entire time." Amen.

>> Can I tell you, there's going to come a

time in somebody's life in this room

that he's going to come riding in, not

the way you thought, but you're going to

have your eyes open and say, "You are

the one I've been waiting on this entire

time." Woo! Can I tell you that next

Sunday when we gather in here and we

have two services to fit everybody

that's going to come next Sunday, can I

tell you that there going to be some

folks that come in here and if you'll

fast with me and pray with me this week,

they're going to look in here and

they're going to say, "This is the

savior I've been looking for all along."

How many get with your pastor and say,

"Next week on Easter, we're going to see

some folk get saved for the glory of

God." We're going TO SEE THEM COME. COME

ON, SOMEBODY. THEY'RE GOING TO SAY,

"THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN ASKING HIM FOR.

He wants to do it

>> save now we pray.

>> But I want you to see this. They caught

a glimpse of the one

of the one and he was about to change

everything. Can I tell you?

Somebody says, "Well, pastor, you're

talking about them back then." All

right, let's zero back in. Let's talk

about us as I close this thing out.

We We were tied in our own mess ups and

our own mistakes. But even though we

were tied, can somebody witness with

your pastor today and say today and say,

"But we were still chosen by God."

>> I don't know about you, but that just

gets me excited. I'm thankful. We We

were bound by our own mind, maybe even

bound by religion, but God still needed

us.

>> Come on, somebody. He still wants us. We

were overlooked by everybody else, but

guess what? God still called us.

>> Everybody else may have passed over and

said, "Well, that's not they're not

worth it.

Everything's messed up in their life."

I'm gonna tell you this right now that

people will tell you a lot of different

things. But one thing they cannot tell

you is that when Jesus shows up, he

changes everything.

>> They cannot compute that. They cannot

refute that. They cannot change that.

And I don't know about you, but I am

thankful that Jesus showed up in my

life. And I'm thankful he changed

everything. Do I have anybody that's got

the same heart today? Come on. I dare

you to give God a little praise in the

house for the fact that he showed up.

Oh, come on. When nobody else has showed

up and he changed everything. When

nobody else can make a difference, he

was my savior and my lord. I want my

family to come if you will. The fact is

that we have something to praise God for

this morning. Just like these precious

people that saw the Savior coming riding

on the colt, can I tell you that they

had something to praise God for? They

may not have known it, but they were

praising him anyways for the fact he was

about to loose them from their sins.

And today, we have the right to praise

God that he's loosed us from sin. And

thank God that he's broken generational

bondage. And thank God for the fact that

you and I are still necessary to the

kingdom of God.

>> I'm thankful that I'm still necessary.

I'm thankful that I'm not obsolete to

God.

>> And I want to speak that over somebody

today. The enemy has told you you're

obsolete to God. I'm going to tell you

something. The devil is a liar. God

still has need of you.

>> Come on, somebody.

>> You may have been struggling with that.

It may been a battle, maybe something

that you've had to face it over and over

in your mind. But I'm going to tell you,

in the name of Jesus, you are not

obsolete, but God has a plan.

>> I'm gonna say this as we close out. If

you don't mind, son, just close me out.

At surface level, we look at this and it

could look uh it could represent honor

and andor physical protection. And we

can look at these coats and we can look

at these uh leafy branches that were

being waved. And we can even narrow it

down and say in a simplistic form, it

was all about praise. And that is true.

We will talk about we talked about

praise today quite often. But I think

it's much deeper than that. I believe

this was a moment whether they realized

it or not. Can you can you just go with

me in your mind? Jesus on the donkey

riding into Jerusalem. His disciples

screaming, "Hosana!

Blessed is he who ca comes in the name

of the Lord." And then somebody else is

ON THE OTHER SIDE. HOSANA IN THE

HIGHEST.

All these things are going on. There's

echoes of all this. Can I tell you, I

don't think they realized it, but they

weren't just at a moment of Passover.

They were as coronation day and they

didn't even know it.

Can I tell you there are times in our

life that we find ourselves in a move of

God and we don't even know it.

There are times that we haven't thought

of, well, I I'm looking for God to move

just like this and if he doesn't move in

my little box and that's not God,

right? Can we just be honest and say

we've we've we've been guilty of that

before. Well, then pastor, this is how I

like this is how I like to have church.

So, if God doesn't move like this, and

that can't be what God's doing, it's not

it's not of God. I've heard people say

that all the time. And I'm like, you are

so narrow-minded to the gospel of Jesus

Christ. I love you,

but let me help you stretch your wine

skin today. God is not mandated to move

on your behalf.

>> He moves because he is sovereign, and he

finds people that are willing to let him

move however he chooses in that moment.

You say, "Well, pastor, I like church to

be loud and crazy." I do too. I like

things to be wild. Some of you say,

"Well, pastor, I'd rather have it quiet

and subdued."

Hey, that's tough for me. But you know

what? If God moves that way, I'm going.

>> I'm in.

>> And I'm not going to walk out and say,

"Well, that just man, that was a flop."

No. Because when God moves, he does it

on purpose.

>> However he chooses to move in that

moment, I'm telling you, somebody's in

the room that needs it. Yes. Amen.

>> So, can I help us this morning in in

just this one stretching of a wine skin?

Do not put our God in a box in this

house

>> and say he has to move just like this

every single time. And if he doesn't

move just like this every single time,

then it's not really a move of the Holy

Spirit. Because if you're not careful,

you will find yourself in the same

position the children of Israel were in.

The Jewish people in that moment, THEY

SAW IT. THEY SAW THE POMP AND

CIRCUMSTANCE, BUT THEY MISSED the entire

point of the moment

because they were wrapped up in saying,

"There's our military Messiah."

But I'm not sure why he's riding on a

donkey, but I know that the disciples

have got a waror behind him somewhere.

Because this just this can't be my

Messiah. This can't be the real guy

unless he's got a waror. They missed it

because their eyes were on what they

thought was right rather than saying,

"God, I am fully surrendered in this

moment.

When they took those garments and laid

them down in front of Jesus, it was a a

a simple representation to us today that

if we hold on to our identity and try to

embrace the identity of the king, we are

comingling and that does not work in the

kingdom of God.

What works in the kingdom of God is me

saying no to my identity, stripping my

identity off. You see this played out in

the word of God. He said, "For the

spirit of heaviness, you put on the

garment of praise." You have to embrace

a new identity if you want the heaviness

to leave. And if you want salvation and

restoration, you have to get your

identity out of the way and embrace the

identity of the king by taking your

identity and literally laying it at the

feet of the SAVIOR JUST AS THEY DID

WHILE HE WAS WALKING BY. AND WHAT WAS SO

GREAT ABOUT THAT IS NOT ONLY WAS IT IN

THE PATH THAT THEY WERE WALKING IN, BUT

JESUS CAME BY AND THE DONKEY HE WAS

RIDING ON STOMPED ON THAT IDENTITY,

SAYING, "IT IS LOWER THAN ANYTHING

ELSE." AND THEY'VE STEPPED BACK AND

SAID, "NOW GOD, I EMBRACE YOUR IDENTITY.

YOU ARE MY KING. I WANT TO BE KNOWN WITH

THE KING."

>> And today, if you want to be known with

the king, you have to strip yourself of

your identity and say, "You know what?

If I can just be real honest, I've tried

it before to get things right and it

messed up.

>> I'VE GIVEN IT MY BEST SHOT, PASTOR, TO

GET THINGS RIGHT, BUT IT JUST IT DIDN'T

WORK OUT."

Can I tell you maybe this morning he is

calling you to take your identity off

and embrace his identity because his

will work a lot better.

>> He'll bring victory a lot quicker. HE'LL

BRING PEACE A LOT FASTER. But you've got

to be willing to say no to self deny

self. Take up your cross, which is the

real identity of the king. We'll learn

about that this week. It wasn't about a

donkey. It wasn't about clothes on the

ground. It was about them laying theirel

down and saying, "I'll pick up the cross

and I'll follow you every single day of

my life." That's the king I want to be

identified with. I don't know about you,

but I want to be identified with a king

that toted a cross, but not just there.

He He went to the tomb for three days,

but he got up and now he's a resurrected

king. Anybody else want to embrace the

identity today? Come on. I KNOW IT'S

PALM SUNDAY, but let's go ahead and do a

spoiler alert. IN THREE DAYS, HE RISES

AFTER GOING TO THE GRAVE. THAT'S THE

IDENTITY THAT I WANT TO TAKE ON. THAT'S

MY KING. THAT'S MY GOD. THAT'S MY

SAVIOR.

NOW, stand to your feet all over the

house

cuz I want to show you another part of

this puzzle.

And it's simply found in this next verse

that I'm about to share with you

because there's a deeper revelation in

the coronation day. And it's referenced

from 2 Kings chapter 9 verse number 13.

2 Kings 9 · chapter mention

And it says it like this. Then every man

hastened to take his garment and put it

under him on top of the steps. And they

blew trumpets saying, "Jahu is king."

This is an Old Testament account.

An Old Testament account of them

bringing a king into the room, but

saying, "We're going to take our

identity off because we want to be

identified with the king." This was a

earthly king, Jahu. They knew the story.

They knew what had taken place. THEY HAD

HEARD THE SCRIPTURES BEING TALKED ABOUT.

AND NOW THEY WERE LIVING in a real life

where they said they may not have

understood why the king was coming in

that moment, but they said THIS ONE,

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE KING. AND THEY

FOLLOWED SUIT WITH WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS

MOMENT AND THEY LAID THEIR GARMENTS DOWN

AND THEY BLEW THEIR TRUMPETS THEIR MOUTH

AND DECLARED THAT JESUS MESSIAH IS KING.

HOSANA HAS COME TO SAVE US WHO COMES IN

THE NAME OF THE LORD. HOSANA IN THE

HIGHEST.

And in this moment, they stepped back

and said, "This is what we're going to

follow. And I want you to understand

that it represented a declaration of

kingship. In that moment, they

recognized that Jesus was king. They

took off their identity so they could

assume the identity of the king. And

they wanted to be recognized as a

follower of the king, not their own

agenda. And today, you and I have the

same choice in this house. We can either

keep our identity intact trying it our

way in our time through our ability or

we can cast our garments down to the

king and embrace the identity of the

king in this moment and shift not only

our life but the legacy that we are

going to pass down to the next

generation. And I'm going to ask you how

many in this house will say I choose to

lay my identity down and take on the

identity of the king. Come on. Is

anybody really willing to do that today

in this house? I choose to lay it down.

Because here's the thing. When our

garments are surrendered, a generation

is secured by the power of God. If we

try to do it our own identity, the next

generation is going to look at us and

say, "You guys are fools."

>> I'm just being honest. But when we find

our identity and who Christ is, then we

can say, "I've surrendered my identity

and now I know the next generation is

secure in Christ." How many believe the

word of God today? Anybody believe the

word of God today? Can we just give God

a praise for the fact that he's able to

do something special? Come on. How many

ready to surrender those garments and

see him do something incredible in your

heart and your life? With every head

bowed, every eye closed all over this

house. I'm going to tell you, some of

you at that point right now, you need to

surrender. You need to surrender your

garment. Surrender your identity to

Christ. Take on his identity and walk

out of here renewed in him. For Psalm

118 says, "Save now I pray, oh Lord. Oh

Lord, I pray send now prosperity.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of

the Lord. We have blessed you from the

house of the Lord." He said, "God is the

Lord. He has given us light. Bind the

sacrifice with cords and the horns of

the altar. You are my God and I will

praise you. You are my God. I will exalt

you. Oh, give thanks to the Lord for he

is good. For his mercy endures

forever.

So with your head bowed, eyes closed,

nobody looking around for just the next

few moments. If you're in this place and

you say, "Pastor, today I know I need a

change of identity. I need to shift some

things in my life. I've been running

from the Lord. I've been letting things

plague my life. I've been I've been

letting the enemy wreak havoc. I've been

I've been trying it my own way and it

really hasn't worked out and I I'm not

any further than I I I'm not where I

need to be. I thought I'd be further

along in life than I am right now. I

thought things would look different. I

thought that I would be more spiritually

mature than I am. I thought I would be

serving God in a different capacity. I

feel like I'm stuck. I feel like I'm

bound by that rope. I feel like pastor,

today I feel like there's some

generational things that have had me

bound. I've never really seen freedom

the way you preached about it today, but

I want that freedom today. I know that's

a lot. It's a long list of things that

could be having you bound today. But I

believe that one word from the Savior

can set you free. I believe that the God

I serve can BREAK EVERY CHAIN OFF OF

YOUR LIFE. I BELIEVE THE GOD THAT I

SERVE CAN MAKE EVERY WRONG PLACE RIGHT

IN A MOMENT, IN AN INSTANT. ALL YOU HAVE

to do is be willing to say, "I surrender

myself

and I need God to take control of my

life.
