The Gift Giver | Pastor Jesse Jernigan | 5.17.26 (Sermon)

Hallelujah. And as you do that, I'm

going to ask you to grab your Bibles

once you give and stand to your feet.

We're going to read the word of God

together. And uh and I believe God is

going to speak to us in a powerful way.

We're in a series called Carriers of the

Flame. Carriers of the Flame. This is

our Pentecost series leading up to next

Sunday, the 24th, uh which will be our

Pentecost Sunday, the celebration of the

church. But before I dive into that, I

felt this in my spirit. Um I tell then I

talked about this a second ago what

brother Mack had sent to me uh

concerning our nation and what some of

the precious folks and leaders did

during that time uh when it came to the

uh the precipice of them stepping across

and signing the declaration of

independence on July 4th 1776. There was

a call from the second continental

congress to proclaim a national day of

uh of fasting and prayer and seeking

God. Uh and they asked the colonialists

uh the colonists rather to confess their

sins, seek divine intervention and

pardon while uh imploring assistance to

be able to frustrate those that were

their enemies during that time. And

amidst the uh escalating tensions with

Great Britain, John Adams wrote a famous

letter to his wife Abigail Adams

describing a moment in Congress where he

felt as though he was on the edge of a

precipice as the colonies prepared to

sever ties with the British monarchy

that was during that time. And and I I I

wrote back to brother Mack during that

time and I said, "I'm thankful that you

sent this to me because I feel like we

are on the edge." And I and I'll reward

it. I may not say it exactly like he

said it, but this is a year of sacred

thresholds. And I feel like we are on

the edge of one of the greatest sacred

thresholds that this church has ever

seen. On May the 31st, you'll understand

more about that. But in relation to

that, this is what freed me up this

morning to make this announcement and

we'll send a message out, text, and all

that stuff to let you know. But the week

after, so May 24th is Pentecost Sunday,

starting that Monday through Friday, the

25th to the 29th, I am calling our

church to a time of fasting and prayer.

Now, I'm not asking you to fast every

meal, but I'm asking you if you would be

willing to set aside one meal per day

and set aside a time to pray for our

church. Pray for unity, and pray that

the enemy would be defeated in his

attack to try to break division or

anything against the house of God.

Because here's what I want you to

understand. I believe that God's got

something great for us to achieve as a

church body. But in that, I know the

enemy and his trickery, and I know his

devices, and I can spot it a long ways

off. So, I'm calling my church to say,

"Let's get together. Let's fast. Let's

pray and let's put the devil on the

run." Can I get an amen in the house?

How many say, "Pastor, I'm with you.

Let's do this thing." Amen. All right.

All I need is about three or four. It'll

be all right. But I'm I'm inviting

everybody into this precious moment.

It's going to be a great week. So, we'll

let you know more about that next week

as well. Uh, but I wanted to make that

announcement. Uh, if you'll take your

Bibles, it's going to be to 1

Corinthians chapter number 12.

My reading will be a slight more lengthy

than than I normally do right before I

preach, but if you'll hang with me, uh,

you'll understand why uh, when we get

there. But 1 Corinthians chapter number

12. Um, and we're going to read several

verses that are connected right here

together. Uh, 1 through I think 10 if

I'm not mistaken or 11. Um, maybe. Let

me see. I'm in. Look at that. I done

flipped to second Corinthians. How about

that? That would have been awkward for

everybody. Can I get an amen? Y'all been

like, "Pastor reading some different

Bible today." No, we going to go. We

going to go first Corinthians. There we

go. 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verse

1 Corinthians 12 · chapter mention

number one. When you got it, say, "I got

it."

>> I got it. Now, concerning spiritual

gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be

ignorant. I think that's pretty plain,

right? I want to make sure we're on the

same page. You know that you were

Gentiles carried away to these dumb

idols. Now, I like the way my Bible

reads that. That's funny. Come on. I

like messing with the enemy. However,

you were led. It says, "Therefore, I

make known to you uh that no one

speaking by the spirit of God calls

Jesus a curse. And no one can say that

Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

Says this, there are there are

diversities of gifts but the same

spirit. There are differences of

ministries but the same Lord.

>> You can see that there's there's

different sandboxes, if you will, but

there's flavors in each one. But if they

name the name of Jesus is the way, the

truth, and the life, come on. They're

not our enemy. They are with us. Can I

get an amen?

>> Amen.

>> So, and there are diversities of

activities, but it's the same God who

works in who works all in all, but the

manifestation of the spirit is given to

each one for the profit of all. For to

one is given the word of wisdom through

the spirit, to another the word of

knowledge through the same spirit, to

another faith by the same spirit, to

another gifts of healings by the same

spirit. I think he's trying to get

something across right there. is by the

same spirit. Said to another the gifts

of healings by the same spirit to

another the working of miracles to

another prophecy to another discerning

of spirits. To another different kinds

of tongues to another interpretation of

tongues. But watch this. But one and the

same spirit works all these things,

distributing to each one individually.

Watch this. Not as you want but as he

wills.

>> Amen.

>> And so today I want to bring clarity to

this aspect this angle of the Holy

Spirit if you will. And that is the

angle that he is the giftgiver.

>> He is the giftgiver. So let's ask for

God's blessings over this moment and

over this word because I believe God's

going to do something incredible and

move us from theology. He's going to

move us from theological standpoint to

participation today. Amen. How many

ready to go with pastor today? Let's go.

Father, have your way. Speak to us

through your word. We need it, God. We

desire it. We covet your word today.

Have your way. In Jesus name we pray.

And everybody says, "Amen." Amen. You

may be seated in the presence of the

Lord today.

So, as we start this, we have to have a

um and I wish I had more time to do all

this. I don't have time to go through

all of it, but we need to have a better

understanding of the gifts of the

spirit, what they are, and define

spiritual gifts to the body. Now we

understand through reading 1 Corinthians

12:es 1-12. This particular scripture

lines out nine gifts if you will that

are in operation through the power of

the Holy Spirit in the life of the

believer. And I'm going to list those.

You have the words of wisdom, words of

knowledge, gift of faith, gift of

healing, working of miracles, gift of

prophecy, discerning of spirits, which I

think is a big one that the church needs

again today. Can I get an amen? There's

diverse or different kinds of tongues

that are spoken and then interpretation

of tongues. Now, if I can take just a

few moments and take you on a journey of

what the spiritual gifts are lined up,

not just in this scripture, but there's

other scriptures that I'm going to read

to you today, I I would have read all of

them and we'd be standing for like 20

minutes. So, I'll stand up, you sit

down, and in a minute, we'll get back up

and we'll just praise God for what he's

given to us through the giftgiver. But

the word of wisdom does bring some

understanding to this is a supernatural

answer or direction from God for a

situation. God gives wisdom beyond human

understanding for what to do or what to

say in certain situations. This is a

synopsis of what the spiritual gifts

are. I'm not going to be able to dive

deeply into them, but hang on and listen

quick because I'm going to fire off on

these. The second one that he mentions

is a word of knowledge. This is a

supernatural knowledge revealed by God

that you cannot naturally know by any

way or any absolute understanding. God

reveals facts, details or insights about

a person or a situation that there's no

way your knowledge can figure it out.

I'm thankful for the word of knowledge.

Faith, the gift of faith is supernatural

confidence and trust in God for the

impossible. Come on. a special

impartation of faith beyond our normal

daily faith. I'll tell you one person

that I have in my life and on my staff

that has a great gift of faith in the

power of the Holy Spirit. That is Pastor

Michael who stands up here and leads us

in worship. I'm telling you, if you ask

him what do you think about this bro's

going to start spitting out faith that

comes from mama and daddy. Come on. Can

I tell you God gave him that gift and

I'm thankful. Then you have the gifts of

healings that it talks about God's

supernatural power to bring physical,

emotional, or spiritual healing through

somebody's life. Healing flows through

the power of the Holy Spirit. And can I

tell you, this may upset some people,

but I just, you know, I'll go ahead and

upset some people now. I'll upset others

later. It will be all right. But I'm

telling you, God will give the

supernatural gift of healing that you

can see God heal somebody in an instant

just like that.

>> I believe that that's the word of God.

But I also believe God gives gifts to

men and women to go into medicine for

God to use them to bring healing to

people's life as well.

>> All right. So, okay, y'all agree with me

a little bit more on that than I

thought, but let me go. Let me go on cuz

I got a long way to go in a short time

to get there. The fifth one he mentions

is working of miracles, supernatural

acts that override natural laws. Come

on. God moves powerfully in ways that

cannot be explained naturally. I've seen

God do it. Somebody gets a diagnosis of

cancer and it's there on one scan. They

go back the next time and it is

completely gone. Man cannot understand

it. And watch this. Man cannot take

glory for that. It only goes to God. CAN

YOU GIVE GOD PRAISE for the working of

miracles? I'm telling you, UNDERSTAND

THESE ARE GIFTS THAT GOD DESIRES TO GIVE

TO US. THE sixth one he mentioned is a

GIFT OF PROPHECY. SPEAKING a message

inspired by God to strengthen,

encourage, or comfort people. A

spirit-led message spoken in a known

language straight to people. I'm

thankful for the gift of prophecy. It's

happened over my life many times in

strain areas and strange moments,

someone will come by with a word. And

I'll say this, if it sounds weird and it

sounds offthe-wall, then I would say

test that spirit. But I'm going to tell

you, when the gift of PROPHECY COMES,

IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO CONFIRM what

God's already been speaking to your

life.

>> Hello, somebody.

>> Do I need to dive a little bit deeper in

that?

>> Cuz I don't want you to get confused cuz

the enemy will try to hijack these gifts

and use them to direct you away from God

rather than what these gifts were meant

to do. And that's meant to direct you to

God.

>> Come on.

>> If a gift directs you to a person, run

as fast as you can.

I got a word for you. But listen, you

got to give me $20 million and I'll give

you this word.

>> Come on, somebody.

>> Listen, that's that's outlandish. I will

prophesy over you for $9.99. Can I get

an amen?

It's just the truth. These people are

crazy. You give me this and I'll No.

Uh-uh. No, no, no. That's not how God

works.

>> These gifts are for the body. Let me

move on because I'll stay there a long

time. Number seven, discerning his

spirits. supernatural ability to

recognize what spirit is operating in

that moment.

>> I believe people have have let the enemy

ruin their life because they didn't lean

into a spirit of discernment. They said,

"Oh, they're just in they're so nice."

>> But sometimes it's okay to say, "Whoa,

hold on. I don't feel right about this."

>> Hello.

>> All right. This helps us identify

whether something is from God

>> which could be and that's powerful

whether something's from the flesh

>> or whether it's demonically influenced.

>> We have to have discernment in the body

of Christ. Now let's talk about the

number eight one. That's the different

kinds of tongues. Speaking in a language

unknown to the speaker but inspired by

the Holy Spirit. This can either be an

earthly language or it could be a

heavenly language that nobody can

recognize. Because you go back to the

day of Pentecost, what did they do? They

began to speak in tongues in an upper

room and the Bible says those below

heard their own language being spoken.

So there was earthly languages that were

given to people that THEY DID NOT KNOW

what was going on. I heard a story one

time of a lady and this was this was a

story a preacher told and I'll do it

real quick. There was a lady in the back

of the room who she was just standing

there. She didn't really know the

language. She didn't know what was going

on. She knew a little bit about English,

but behind her, somebody began to speak

in tongues in that moment and began to

speak a message in tonesues. And after

it was all said and done, she was like,

"WAIT A SECOND. THIS person does not

know the language that I speak that's

native to me." And it was some kind of

it was some kind of Cherokee Indian

language that was way back, was

outdated, but it was something that she

knew very well. And they spoke through

the word of God through that through

that different kind of tongue. They

spoke exactly what that lady needed to

hear in that moment through God, through

that person, straight to their life.

Come on. I BELIEVE IN THE GIFTS OF THE

SPIRIT AND I believe God can use us to

go places that we've never been before.

So, it can be earthly, BUT IT ALSO CAN

BE HEAVENLY to where it is something

that is not recognizable on this earth.

>> Come on.

>> Let's be honest. There's a lot of crazy

things going on right now. Everybody's

looking up in the skies and they're

looking at the wrong thing.

>> That's right. Come on. There are some

other worldly things going on. But

listen, I'm going to tell you, people

say, "WELL, YOU'RE STRANGE FOR believing

in the power of the Holy Spirit." Well,

you're strange for believing in the

virgin birth.

>> They were like, "Listen, YOU SPEAK IN

TONGUES. THAT'S CRAZY." REALLY?

>> But you believe in the VIRGIN BIRTH. SO

DO I.

>> That sounds a little crazy to me.

>> Come on.

>> People throwing throwing shade at people

that believe in the gifts of the spirit.

No, don't do that to me. I've done come

too far. Amen.

>> I've done seen too much

>> for you to tell me this thing ain't

real, baby. COME ON. HOW MANY STILL with

pastor say, "I believe it's real."

>> OH, IT'S REAL INSIDE OF ME. It's real in

you. It's real. Oh, I got a church right

there. Let's go ahead and give God

praise for the fact that this thing is

real in Jesus name. Hallelujah.

Earthly language, heavenly language. The

ninth one that he mentions in 1

Corinthians 12 is interpretation of

tongues. This is a supernatural ability

to understand and communicate the

meaning of a tongue. Watch this. Not

translating necessarily every time word

for word, but the spirit given meaning

or message behind what he is trying to

say at that moment. Because I believe

that God speaks to us. But I want you to

understand that this is kind of a good

breakdown of what you see. There is the

revelation gifts that we talk about. In

other words, God reveals something to

us. That's the word of wisdom, the word

of knowledge, discerning of spirits. So,

you can break those down. The revelation

gifts. But then also the power gifts

where God does something. That's the

gift of faith, the gift of healings, and

the gift of miracles. But then the third

one is the vocal gifts where we are used

and God flows through us through

prophecy, through tongues, and through

interpretation of tongues. God has

something and his desire is that

everybody that's part of the body of

Christ is equipped with a gift that

doesn't come from man but is equipped

with a gift that COMES FROM HEAVEN

DIRECTLY TO YOUR LIFE. GOD WANTS TO

ANOINT YOU AND USE YOU.

>> NOBODY IN THE ROOM IS EXEMPT.

>> AMEN.

>> You say, "Well, I just happen to sit on

a pew where you come to the wrong

church."

>> Amen.

>> I'm gonna let you know God is looking

for people that are just surrendered to

him. Now, watch this. 1 Corinthians

1 Corinthians 12:11

12:11. This is the bedrock. You saw it

throughout the entire scripture. But he

said, "But one and the same spirit works

all these things, distributing to each

one individually as he wills over our

life." Remember this same Holy Spirit,

different expressions and different

manifestations.

>> Okay? Same Holy Spirit. WHAT DOES THAT

MEAN? THAT MEANS SPIRITUAL gifts will

not contradict each other. That's right.

>> Hello, somebody.

>> Somebody may prophesy over here and they

prophesy over here and it's two

different things. It's like opposing

views like this side of the church

believes this side. No, that is not how

the same works.

>> It is meant not to confuse but bring

clarity.

>> Amen.

>> If it's out of order, guess what? I

promise you I'll let you know it's out

of order.

>> But in this situation, we have to

understand there's not contradictory.

They will compliment and watch this. and

they will bring about the complete will

of God in the house of God.

>> And not only in the house of God, but in

the people of God and what God desires

to do in our life. Spiritual gifts don't

confuse. They bring completion to the

table.

>> They bring completion. Now, let's go to

Romans 12. All right. Verses 3-8. I

think we have that if I'm not mistaken.

He said this, "For I say through the

grace given unto me to every man that is

among you, not to think of himself more

highly than he ought to think." Now,

that's good advice for anybody. Can I

get an amen?

>> Would Can we just let that sink in for a

second? Okay. But to think soberly

according as God has dealt to every man

the measure of faith. Now, let's move on

to the next verse if it would. For as uh

we have many members in one body, all

the members have not the same office.

Okay. So, we being many are one body in

Christ and everyone members of one one

of another. Verse number six, having

then gifts differing according to the

grace that is given to us. Watch this.

God gives a grace to each individual to

operate in the spiritual gifts.

And a lot of times we have not tapped in

to the grace that God has given us over

our life. Now I'm teaching right now.

I'll preaching this a little bit. I This

is a little different for some of you.

You're like, "Pastor supposed to be

hollering and screaming right now." I'll

get to that point. It's all right. Hang

tight. But I want you to understand, GOD

GIVES GRACE TO US TO operate in gifts

differing in times and moments. BECAUSE

WATCH THIS, THE BODY OF CHRIST IS BIGGER

THAN ONE LOCATION.

>> When we leave from here, YOU GUYS ARE

ALL GOING BACK TO YOUR HOMES, going back

to your jobs, going back to your

families. GUESS WHAT? THE GIFTS OF THE

SPIRIT DON'T STOP CUZ YOU WALK OUT OF

THE CHURCH.

>> HELLO.

>> Can I preach for a second? IF THE GIFTS

ARE MEANT TO BE LOCKED IN THE CHURCH,

THEN THE WORLD OUT there will never

taste of the goodness of God. BUT IF GOD

CAN FIND A CHURCH THAT WOULD SAY, "I'M

THANKFUL THAT IT HAPPENS IN HERE, BUT

THIS IS NOT THE ONLY PLACE THAT

HAPPENS." BUT LORD, LET THE GIFTS GET

OUTSIDE THE CHURCH. RELEASE THE DOVE

OVER THIS AREA CUZ WE NEED A COME ON. WE

NEED A CHURCH THAT'LL GO OUT AND SAY,

"I'VE GOT A SAVIOR. I CAN STEP IN. I CAN

PROPHESY. I CAN BRING MIRACLES. I CAN

BRING HEALING IN YOUR LIFE THROUGH THE

POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. BUT YOU'VE GOT

TO RECOGNIZE THE GRACE THAT IS ON YOUR

LIFE.

>> BUT WHEN YOU RECOGNIZE THE GRACE, WATCH

THIS. HE SAID, "WHETHER PROPHECY, LET US

PROPHESY ACCORDING TO THE PRO THE

PROPORTION OF FAITH OR MINISTRY, LET US

WAIT ON OUR MINISTRY." OR HE THAT

TEACHETH ON TEACHING. VERSE NUMBER

EIGHT. OR HE THAT EXHORTETH EXHORTATION,

HE THAT GIVES, LET HIM DO IT WITH

SIMPLICITY, HE THAT RULETH WITH

DILIGENCE, HE THAT SHOWS MERCY WITH

CHEERFULNESS.

>> We could probably use a little

cheerfulness in the house of God.

>> Turn your neighbor, smile real big.

>> And say, I'm just so cheerful this

morning.

>> I'm just so cheerful. BUT LET'S TALK

ABOUT THAT. HE LINES OUT SEVEN GIFTS IN

ROMANS CHAPTER 7 THAT WE have to HAVE A

Romans 7 · chapter mention

GRACE ON OUR LIFE TO CARRY THESE GIFTS.

THE FIRST ONE IS PROPHECY. THE ABILITY

TO BOLDLY SPEAK GOD'S TRUTH WITH CLARITY

AND CONVICTION often brings correction,

direction, encouragement, and spiritual

insight. THE SECOND ONE HE TALKS ABOUT

IS THE GIFT OF MINISTRY OR SERVING OTHER

PEOPLE. Come on. We need laborers in the

harvest. Can I get AN AMEN? WE GOT A BIG

VISION. WE NEED PEOPLE TO GET THEIR

HANDS ON THE PLOW. THIS IS THE ABILITY

AND DESIRE TO PRACTICALLY HELP AND

SUPPORT OTHERS. THESE PEOPLE JOYFULLY

MEET needs and carry the load of

ministry. THE THIRD ONE HE TALKS ABOUT

IS TEACHING. THE ABILITY TO EXPLAIN AND

APPLY GOD'S WORD CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY.

TEACHERS HELP PEOPLE UNDERSTAND TRUTH

AND GROW SPIRITUALLY. THE FOURTH ONE IS

THE EXHORTATION GIFT. THE ABILITY TO

ENCOURAGE, MOTIVATE, COMFORT, AND

STRENGTHEN OTHER PEOPLE. EXOR EXORTERS

INSPIRE OTHERS TO KEEP GOING AND STAY

FAITHFUL. THE ABIL, THIS IS THE FIFTH

ONE HE TALKS ABOUT IS THE GIFT OF

GIVING. THE ABILITY AND DESIRE TO

GENEROUSLY PROVIDE RESOURCES TO MEET the

needs and ADVANCE GOD'S WORD. GIVERS

ENJOY BLESSING OTHERS WITH GENEROSITY.

AND I'M GOING TO SAY THIS, GOD IS

LOOKING FOR SOME GIVERS TO STEP INTO

that that spiritual GIFT THAT GOD HAS

GIVEN THEM. COME ON. NUMBER SIX IS

LEADERSHIP. THIS IS administration or

leading. The ability to guide, organize,

AND LEAD PEOPLE EFFECTIVELY. LEADERS

HELP BRING VISION, DIRECTION, AND ORDER.

AND THE SEVENTH ONE, HE MENTIONS WHAT I

THINK IS POWERFUL IS MERCY. THE GIFT OF

MERCY, THE ABILITY TO DEEPLY FEEL

COMPASSION AND CARE FOR HURTING PEOPLE.

MERCIFUL PEOPLE NATURALLY COMFORT AND

RESTORE OTHERS WITH KINDNESS. CAN I TELL

YOU, WE NEED THESE GIFTS IN OPERATION IN

THE BODY OF CHRIST AGAIN TO LET PEOPLE

KNOW THEY'RE NOT ALONE, THEY'RE NOT

BROKEN, THERE'S LEADERSHIP, THERE'S A

PLACE FOR YOU IN JESUS NAME.

>> Watch this. He said in that that that

verse number six of chapter 12, he said,

"Having then gifts differing according

to the grace that is given to us, let us

use them."

>> Can you imagine? And I'm not even done.

There's more gifts. I'm not even

finished. There's so many in the word of

God, y'all. This may be a two-parter.

Come on.

>> There are so many things in the word of

God. Can you imagine God giving these

gifts to the church and the church

saying, "No, I'm good."

>> That's true.

Because it's not like we couldn't use

them,

>> right?

>> But I think the problem is, we'll talk

about this at the end, is the problem we

don't want to surrender to them.

>> Y'all, this is different for me, too. I

really want to get up there and just

hammer on it, get my organ behind me.

Let's go. Let's preach. But the Holy

Spirit says, "Slow down for a moment

because if you're going to see people

baptized in the Holy Ghost and

operational gifts of the Holy Spirit,

then you got to teach them it."

>> So, I'm gonna teach them this morning.

Okay,

>> I'm going to teach a little bit because

I want us to UNDERSTAND THAT IF GOD GAVE

US THESE GIFTS, WHY HAS THE CHURCH

ABANDONED operating these spiritual

gifts?

>> We I'll say this, we are Pentecostal in

belief. We believe in the manifestation

and the working of the Holy Spirit

through the body of Christ. I have I I

nobody can teach me otherwise. Nobody

can train me otherwise. God gave us the

power of the Holy Spirit and in this

house we believe in it. We will walk in

it. We will see it manifest in our

hearts and our life. BECAUSE HERE'S THE

THING, WE CANNOT BE EFFECTIVE IN the

kingdom in our own ability, in our own

flesh. We need the POWER OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT TO BE EFFECTIVE to come on to be

able to push the enemy back. We need THE

POWER OF PENTECOST AGAIN. I DON'T KNOW.

DOES ANYBODY SAY, "PASTOR, I WANT

PENTECOST IN MY LIFE. I WANT IT IN MY

CHURCH. I WANT IT IN MY FAMILY. I WANT

IT IN MY BUSINESS. I WANT IT IN MY SOUL.

I WANT IT EVERYWHERE I CAN GET IT. GIVE

ME THE POWER OF PENTECOST.

>> My God.

>> Now watch this. These are gifts that

some people don't really care for, but

it is what it is. Ephesians 4 verse

number 11. The Bible says, "And he

himself gave some to be apostles,

prophets, evangelists,

some pastors, and teachers."

This is called the fivefold ministry

gifts to the church.

>> All right?

>> These are the people that God sets up an

authority over the church to make sure

all this other stuff doesn't turn crazy.

>> Did y'all catch that?

Because could you imagine people with

the gift of prophecy and tongues and

knowledge and wisdom and all this stuff

running around without any leadership in

their life.

>> We are Pentecostal. We're not rogue

Pentecostals.

>> Hello, somebody.

>> Now, some people don't like that because

I want to do what I want to do when I

want to do it. Well, then again, I love

you, but you came to the wrong church.

God put me here as the responsible one

to make sure that this thing's carried

out. Now, there's a different weight and

And we ask God to give us clarity and

direction before we even take a step

somebody's eternity.

Now, let's talk about the five-fold

gifts. All right. You got apostles.

That's your thumb. Everybody, you you

use it. You can remember this on your on

your own hand. Apostles. They are

spiritual pioneers set to establish,

build, and strengthen works for God.

Apostles help lay foundations, develop

leaders, and advance the kingdom into

new territory. You got the prophet. All

right. This is a person gifted to speak

God's heart with clarity, conviction,

and spiritual insight. Prophets bring

encouragement, but they also bring

correction and direction and spiritual

awakening. Then you got the evangelist.

is the person especially gifted to reach

people with the gospel of Jesus Christ

and lead them to Jesus. Evangelists

carry a strong passion for souls and

sharing salvation. Then you've got the

pastor over here, a shepherd who

lovingly cares, guides for, and protects

God's people. Pastors help nurture

spiritual growth and provide care for

the church family. Then you've got the

teacher who is not left out, but is very

important. A gifted person that clearly

explain and establish people in God's

word. Teachers help believers grow in

understanding, truth, and spiritual

maturity. It can be recognized like

this, the apostle is the thumb. You've

got the you've got right here, you got

the prophet, you got the evangelist, you

got the pastor, and you got the teacher.

Why is the apostle a thumb? Because it's

going to touch every one of the other

gifts and make sure they stay in line

and they stay in order with God's design

and God's heart. Because, watch this,

they're not just so they can stand up

and lord over everybody. Let me tell you

what these this five-fold ministry gift

is for. You ready? In Ephesians 4, it

explains it to equip the believers for

ministry, to build up the body of

Christ, to bring unity and maturity, to

help the church grow and strong, grow

strong and stay stable, and to keep

believers grounded in truth. That is the

purpose of the five-fold ministry gifts

that God gave to the church. Can I can I

just give somebody an understanding

today? We need to thank God for the

five-fold ministry in the church. Again,

I I'm going to say that. I'M NOT SAYING

THIS AS I'm standing here, but we need

to honor them. We need to revere them.

WE NEED TO THANK GOD THAT THERE IS

SOMEBODY WHO IS STANDING IN THE GAP AND

WATCHING OVER OUR SOULS. IS ANYBODY

THANKFUL FOR THE FIVE-FOLD GIFT IN this

house? Someone can give God praise. I

GIVE GOD GLORY FOR IT. I'M THANKFUL FOR

MY COVERING. I'M THANKFUL FOR MY

LEADERSHIP. And I'm thankful God gave

those gifts to develop me into who I

need to be.

>> Cuz there's been times I've needed an

apostle to say, "Hey, that's stupid."

>> I needed somebody to step in and be the

adult in the room.

>> And say, "Hold up. Have you considered

this?"

>> But if you consider this, you can take

more territory for the kingdom of God.

>> Thank God for spiritual leadership that

will stand up and do what they're CALLED

TO DO. SO, WE'VE GOT ALL THESE GIFTS

THAT ARE OPERATING IN THE BODY OF

CHRIST. AND THEN WE'VE GOT THESE

LEADERSHIP GIFTS THAT ARE STANDING UP

AND SAYING, "HERE'S THE PATTERN. HERE'S

HOW WE HAVE TO STAY. HERE'S THE

GUARDRAIL SO WE DON'T GET CRAZY AND GET

OUT OF GOD'S WILL." BUT CAN I TELL YOU,

I MUST GIVE US A WARNING THIS MORNING

FOR BECAUSE FOR EVERYTHING GOD HAS

CREATED, the enemy has a counterfeit.

>> Woo! Can I get real, y'all? I'm going to

tell you, honeys are about to get tight

When the Holy Spirit moves, the spirits

move. So we have to be aware when it

comes to spiritual gifts. We have to be

able to distinguish the difference

between the real and the counterfeit.

>> The difference, however, must be spotted

in two angles. Either in the origin or

the outcome.

>> While it's in operation,

there are people that have already given

over to the deceit.

>> You've got to catch it at the beginning

or you got to catch it at the end. Now,

if I catch it in any space, I'm stopping

operation of the service. Watch this.

seeks to edify and encourage BRINGING

FULFILLMENT OF HIS heart and his plans

and also brings freedom from the enemy's

schemes. So if it does anything to ent

trap you or get you dependent upon it

rather than the Holy Spirit, it is a

tactic of the enemy to try to come in

and be a counterfeit to the gifts and

the operation of the Holy Spirit in your

life.

BECAUSE WATCH THIS. JESUS OFFERS A CLOSE

PERSONAL FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD, ENABLING

US TO TO FACE UNCERTAIN FUTURES WITH

CONFIDENCE, TACKLE OVERWHELMING PROBLEMS

WITH DIVINE HELP, AND APPROACH DEATH

without fear. So let's talk about the

counterfeit.

THE spirits whether they are of God.

BECAUSE MANY FALSE PROPHETS HAVE GONE

EVERY SPIRIT THAT confesses that Jesus

Christ has come in the flesh is of God.

And every spirit that does not confess

that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh

is not of God. And this is the spirit of

Antichrist which you have heard was

coming. But watch this. He says and now

is already in the world.

THERE ARE THERE ARE CONTRARY SPIRITS AT

WORK RIGHT NOW.

>> WE ARE IN WARFARE OVER THE ETERNITY OF

OUR FAMILY, OVER THE ETERNITY OF OUR

FRIENDS. AND THERE'S A lot of Christians

that are asleep when they should be

fighting the enemy.

Deuteronomy 18, he said this in 9-14.

When you come into the land which your

ONE WHO PRACTICES WITCHCRAFT or a

soothsayer or one who interprets omens

or a sorcerer or one who conjures spells

or a medium or a spiritist or one who

calls up the dead. FOR ALL THOSE who do

those things are an abomination to the

Lord. Come on. THIS IS NOT MY WORDS.

This is this is the Lord. This is the

word of God. AND BECAUSE OF THESE

ABOMINATIONS, THE LORD YOUR GOD drives

them out from BEFORE YOU. YOU SHALL BE

BLAMELESS before the Lord your God. For

these nations which you shall

dispossess, listen to susers and divorce

or dividers. IT SAYS, "BUT AS AS FOR

YOU, THE Lord your God HAS AN APPOINTED

S HAS NOT APPOINTED SUCH FOR YOU." WATCH

THIS. THE LORD WAS WARNING HIS PEOPLE

NOT THEN. HE WAS WARNING THEM then and

he's warning them now. THAT THE ENEMY

WANTS US to look to the WORLD'S

COUNTERFEITS FOR DIRECTION FOR OUR LIFE.

THESE COUNTERFEITS FUNCTION, WATCH THIS,

AS CONTROL mechanisms over people's

lives because when YOU GET SUCKED INTO

IT, IT will control you.

who he is. These are counterfeits to the

power of the HOLY SPIRIT. PEOPLE GO TO

when we can just get in THE PRESENCE OF

GOD AND HE WILL DIRECT OUR SEX.

WHY DO WE LEAN ON ANYBODY ELSE? LET'S GO

with dead people, necromancers who will

CALL UP THE DEAD and be able to say,

ago to HELP YOU GET CLOSURE." DO NOT

BELIEVE THE LIE OF THE ENEMY. GOD WILL

GIVE YOU CLOSURE THROUGH HIS POWER AND

THROUGH HIS SPIRIT. Come on, somebody.

ENEMY BECAUSE I'VE WATCHED HIM DECEIVE,

ESPECIALLY PENTECOSTAL PEOPLE AND PEOPLE

IN THE SPIRIT TO THINK I CAN GO LEAN ON

THESE THINGS WHEN HE'S SAYING, "I'VE

ALREADY GIVEN YOU THE GIFT. I'VE ALREADY

OPENED MY ARMS TO YOU. ALL YOU GOT TO DO

IS COME IN AND I'LL GIVE YOU STRENGTH."

>> People messing with things like Ouija

boards

>> trying to get answers. People playing

tarot cards saying, "Well, I wonder how

my life is going to line out."

is demonically influenced.

AND FOR TOO LONG WE'VE HAD LEADERSHIP

THAT HAVE BACKED down from this and

said, "Well, I'm not going to say

nothing going to make somebody upset."

Listen, I don't I'm not My intention is

not to make you upset. My intention is

expose you to the truth and the lie of

the enemy and say, "Listen, you can come

out from among that and you can be

free." And God will give you a life of

peace that you NEVER FELT BEFORE. PEOPLE

THAT GO DOWN THAT ROAD, THEY ARE SO

MESSED UP. THEY ARE so bogged down. THEY

ARE SO IN TURMOIL BECAUSE THEY'RE TRYING

TO REACH FOR ANYTHING THAT WILL GIVE

THEM PEACE WHEN THE ONE THING THEY NEED

IS THE NAIL SCARRED HANDS OF A SAVIOR

WHO SAID, "I ALREADY PAY FOR YOUR I FEEL

LIKE PREACHING RIGHT NOW." YOU MAY BE

WATCHING ME RIGHT NOW AND YOU MAY BE

BOUND BY THIS, BUT BABY, THERE'S A

BETTER WAY. HIS NAME IS JESUS. HE IS THE

WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. AND I'M

TELLING YOU, HE PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE

FOR ME. CAN ANYBODY TESTIFY THROUGH YOUR

PRAISE TODAY AND SAY, "HE SET ME FREE.

THEY CAN GET A QUICK ANSWER FROM

SOMEWHERE ELSE, AND CAN I TELL YOU, I

questions is because, if I'm being

honest, the church in America has walked

away from the power of the Holy Spirit,

going to do is I'm going to turn around.

I'm going to preach about the church

today because I think we need to get

back in our spirits again. What happened

with Paul and Silas in chapter 16. Many

of you know the the famous part of it

where they were in prison and him and

Silas were there and they began to sing

and praise and the chains broke and woo.

It was revival in the prison, the jail

house rock. COME ON. EVERYBODY knows

that story. But preceding that, there

was a lady, a divination. There was the

possessed by the spirit of divination

that day after day after day came behind

Paul and Silas and even announced him

and said these ARE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE

TELLING US THE WAY OF GOD UNTIL PAUL

LISTEN THE BIBLE SAYS PAUL got annoyed.

>> Anybody ever been annoyed before don't

>> Hello somebody.

>> WE'VE BEEN ANNOYED BEFORE BUT PAUL GOT

ANNOYED TO THE POINT THAT HE TURNED

AROUND. HE TURNED AROUND AND LOOKED AT

HER. HE DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH HER. HE LOOKED

AT her and he said, "Come out, spirit."

>> Spirit came out, left her. But guess

what? That messed up the commerce of the

neighborhood.

>> WHY DID PAUL AND SILAS END UP IN THE

PRISON? BECAUSE THEY MESSED WITH THE

THING THAT THIS PER THESE PEOPLE. Come

on. THEY CAME AND THEY PUT THIS GIRL IN

AN ENTRAPMENT. THEY CONVINCED HER THAT

SHE WAS DOING WHAT SHE'S SUPPOSED TO DO.

SHE WAS THEIR CASH COW. AND PAUL CAME

AND SET HER FREE. AND NOW SHE'S A

CHANGED INDIVIDUAL. AND WHAT THEY WERE

GETTING, THEY WEREN'T GETTING ANYMORE.

THEY TOOK PAUL AND SILAS, DRUG HIM IN

THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY AND SAID,

"LISTEN, WE GOT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT

THESE JOKERS. THEY MESSING WITH OUR

MONEY. THEY COME HERE WREAKING HAPPY."

BUT WHAT THEY WERE REALLY DOING IS THEY

WERE SAYING, "LOOK, I RECOGNIZE THE

ENEMY THAT'S INSIDE OF HER." AND WHAT

I'M GOING TO TELL YOU TODAY THAT IF HE

CAN SET HER FREE, HE CAN SET EVERYBODY

ELSE IN THE CITY FREE. OH MY GOD. I FEEL

LIKE PREACHING IN THIS HOUSE THIS

MORNING AND LETTING SOMEBODY KNOW, THE

SAME HOLY SPIRIT THAT LIVED INSIDE OF

PAUL AND SILAS IS IN THIS HOUSE THIS

MORNING. AND HE WANTS TO SET SOME PEOPLE

FREE. HE WANTS TO LOOSE YOUR CHAINS. HE

WANTS TO BREAK YOUR BONDAGE. I WANT TO

TELL YOU, he who the son sets free is

free indeed. If you're set free, I dare

you to jump to your feet AND GIVE GOD

some praise for the fact that we're set

free today by the power of the Holy

Spirit. Hallelujah.

My God. My God. SOMEBODY. SO I STAND

HERE BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND

GO AHEAD AND LET YOU KNOW I DECLARE WAR

ON THE SPIRIT OF WITCHCRAFT. I DECLARE

WAR ON DIVINATION. I DECLARE WAR ON

EVERY WARLOCK AND EVERY DEMON THAT WOULD

TRY TO MESS WITH THE PEOPLE OF GOD. I

HIM IN PRISON, BUT THEY COULD not keep

him in prison. Woo! Come on. I SAID

BECAUSE THEY PUT HIM IN PRISON, BUT THEY

COULD NOT KEEP HIM IN PRISON. SO, I'M

GOING TO GO I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE I'm

go ahead and preach for just a second

and let you know I feel the Holy Spirit

saying this over this house that God has

put us in this position THIS MORNING TO

LET US KNOW THAT THE ENEMY WANTS TO TALK

US OUT OF OPERATING THE GIFTS OF THE

SPIRIT. THE ENEMY WANTS TO TALK US OUT

OF EMBRACING THE POWER OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT. BUT I WANT YOU TO HEAR IT LOUD

AND CLEAR FROM YOUR PASTOR. WE ARE NOT

ONLY GOING TO EMBRACE IT, BUT BABY, WE

ARE GOING TO FAN THE FLAMES IN THIS

HOUSE AND SAY, "HOLY SPIRIT, WHATEVER

YOU WANT TO DO, HOWEVER YOU WANT TO

MOVE, HOWEVER YOU WANT TO SHIFT THINGS

and turn things, I DECLARE HAVE YOUR WAY

with pastor that would say, "Have your

way. Holy Spirit, move by your power and

your grace."

book of First Timothy and I think it's

THANK YOU FIRST TIMOTHY. HE SAID, "LET

NO MAN DESPISE THY YOUTH, but be thou an

example unto believers in word,

conversation, charity, spirit, in faith,

and in purity." Then he said this in

verse number 13, "Till I come give

attendance to reading, exhortation, and

to doctrine." In verse number 14,

neglect not the gift that is in you.

Look at your neighbor and say, "Don't

you neglect it." Come on, look at him

one more time. Say, don't you neglect

He said, "Neglect not the gift that was

in that is in you which was given by

thee given thee by prophecy with a

laying on the hands of the prespitary or

those that are in leadership." CAN I

TELL YOU THAT GOD HAS A GIFT THAT HE

WANTS TO GIVE TO EVERY BELIEVER IN THIS

HOUSE? BUT THE FACT IS TODAY THAT WE

HAVE neglected the gifts. We have

allowed THEM TO BECOME DORMANT. BUT I'VE

COME THIS WAY THIS MORNING TO LET YOU

KNOW, PASTOR, I PASTOR IS GOING TO TELL

YOU THAT GOD SENT ME HERE ON ASSIGNMENT

TO LET YOU KNOW THAT GOD SENT ME HERE TO

WAKE UP THE DORMANT GIFTS THAT ARE

INSIDE OF YOUR LIFE. NO MORE. WE'RE

GOING TO SIT BY AND SAY, "I CANNOT

OPERATE IN THESE GIFTS. GOD GAVE IT TO

US. WE'RE GOING TO OPERATE IN IT, BABY.

AND WHEN WE OPERATE IN IT, THE ENEMY MAY

TRY TO STOP IT, BUT I DECLARE WE'RE

GOING TO FLOW AND WE'RE GOING TO SEE

revelation and power come."

But he said, "DO NOT NEGLECT THE GIFTS,

BUT FLIP OVER TO MY OTHER TIMOTHY

SCRIPTURE IF YOU DON'T MIND." The next

one, second Timothy, he said,

"Wherefore, I put thee in remembrance

THAT YOU STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD WHICH

IS IN THEE BY THE PUTTING ON OF MY

HANDS." HE SAID, "REMEMBER WHAT I TOLD

YOU IN THE FIRST BOOK." HE SAID, "YOU

NEGLECTED IT FOR A WHILE BECAUSE YOU

WERE SCARED OF WHAT PEOPLE WOULD SAY."

HE SAID, "NOW I'M TELLING YOU, DON'T

NEGLECT IT, BUT STIR IT UP." NOW, THE

MOST INFAMOUS SCRIPTURE THAT A LOT OF

PEOPLE QUOTE, HE SAID THIS IN THE NEXT

VERSE, VERSE NUMBER SEVEN, FOR GOD HAS

NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF

POWER AND OF LOVE AND A SOUND MIND. HE

KNEW WHAT TIMOTHY WAS UP AGAINST. SO

PAUL SAID, WHEN YOU BEGIN TO STIR UP THE

GIFT AND YOU BEGIN TO NOT NEGLECT IT,

PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE WHAT'S

GOING TO HAPPEN. BUT HE SAID, "WATCH

THIS. DO NOT FEAR, SON. DO NOT WORRY

BECAUSE GOD DID NOT GIVE YOU A SPIRIT OF

FEAR, BUT OF POWER AND OF LOVE AND OF A

SOUND MIND." AND IF I CAN PREACH TO

MYSELF FOR JUST A MOMENT, THERE'S A

BUNCH OF GIFTS THAT GOD WANTS TO WAKE UP

THIS MORNING. AND I DECLARE WE WILL NOT

FEAR. WE WILL NOT GIVE INTO THE THREAT

OF THE ENEMY. BUT WE'LL STAND UP AND

SAY, "WE BELIEVE IN THE MANIFESTATION

AND THE POWER OF THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT. WE WILL operate in them." Now

look at your neighbor and say, "Stir it

up.

>> Stir it up.

Stir it up. Don't let it BE DORMANT. YOU

SAY, "PASTOR, DOES EVERYBODY NEED TO

GIVE A MESSAGE in tongues on Sunday?"

No, they don't.

>> HELLO.

>> DOES SHOULD EVERYBODY STAND UP AND

PROPHESY? NO, THEY SHOULDN'T. BECAUSE

NOW WE'RE BEING NEARSIGHTED. IS IT ONLY

that says the gift of tongues is for a

sign to the unbeliever.

>> You say, "Now, your honey got tied about

all the divination and all that stuff,

time and let you know God expects you to

operate in these gifts outside of the

four walls of this church." Come on. Oh,

We going to talk about the giftgiver for

a second. I'm almost done. I'm going to

get my family up here to help me out.

Michael, stay where you're at cuz it may

get rowdy. But I'm going to tell you

this right now that I am sick and tired

of the church being caged up inside of a

building to let them think that it only

EXISTS AND OPERATES RIGHT HERE. THAT is

a lie FROM THE DEVIL TO GET US TO A

POINT WHERE WE SAY, "LET'S let it BE

DORMANT WHEN WE WALK OUT THAT OUT THESE

DOORS AND GO OUR OWN WAY." BUT GOD DID

NOT CALL IT TO BE DORMANT OUTSIDE OR

INSIDE THE CHURCH. HE SAID, "IT'S TIME

TO STIR UP THE GIFTS. IT'S TIME TO BE

NOT ASHAMED OF THE POWER OF PENTECOST.

IT'S TIME TO STEP UP AND SAY, YOU KNOW

WHAT? IF THIS GIFT IS FOR ME, THEN I'M

GOING TO EMBRACE IT. I'M GOING TO STIR

IT UP WITH EVERYTHING I'VE GOT AND SAY,

LORD, HOWEVER YOU WANT TO USE ME.

WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO IN MY LIFE,

WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO THROUGH ME, I

SAY IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY RIGHT

HERE INSIDE A MILLIGAN ASSEMBLY, GOD,

HAVE YOUR WAY. HAVE YOUR WAY IN MY LIFE.

WHEN I WALK OUT AND GET IN MY CAR AND I

GO TO LUNCH, LET ME OPERATE IN THE GIFTS

OF THE SPIRIT. DO I HAVE A CHURCH THAT

WOULD SAY, "I'M READY TO STIR UP the

gifts. I'm ready to stir up the GIFTS IN

MY HEART. STIR UP THE GIFTS IN MY LIFE.

I'm ready to stir up the gifts IN MY

SPIRIT. I refuse to let IT BE DORMANT. I

REFUSE TO LET IT DIE in Jesus name."

NOW, 1 2 3 GIVE HIM PRAISE IN THE HOUSE.

NOW, one more time, look at your

neighbor and tell them, "Stir it up.

Stir it up.

>> How do I stir it up? I yield back to a

challenge that was given to me many,

many years ago. And it was this. When

are you going to get as serious about

God at your home as you do inside of the

church house? Come on. It stuck. It

stuck like a dagger in me that I'm still

remembering it about 25 years later. And

they told me, "If you going to really do

this thing and you're going to really

follow God, then you got to get serious

about God at your house, when you're

around your family, as you do inside the

church house. THANK GOD FOR GREAT

SERVICES. WE WILL SHOUT, WE WILL DANCE,

AND WE WILL SPEAK IN TONGUES. WE'LL DO

ALL THOSE THINGS." AND I'M THANKFUL THAT

PAUL EVEN SAID IT LIKE THIS, SON. THIS

IS FOR ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT FEEL LIKE

TONGUES ARE GONE AND THEY'RE FINISHED.

HE SAID, "I WISH YOU ALL SPOKE IN

TONESUES JUST LIKE I DO. I SPEAK IN

TONESUES MORE THAN ALL OF YOU." IS WHAT

PAUL SAID. SO THE GIFTS ARE NOT DEAD AND

I BELIEVE THEY'RE VERY MUCH IN

OPERATION. BUT THE GIFTS ARE NOT LIMITED

TO TONGUES and interpretation. THERE IS

A GENERATION OUT THERE THAT NEEDS SOME

KNOWLEDGE THAT DOES NOT COME FROM BOOKS

AND COLLEGES AND COME ON SOMEBODY AND

THE MESS OF THIS WORLD. THEY NEED A

CHURCH THAT OPERATES IN THE KNOWLEDGE

AND GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AGAIN AND

IS NOT ASHAMED OF IT.

So I say to us in this house, it is not

time, babe, for us to put it on

spiritual cruise control.

>> Spiritual cruise control is broken in

this house.

>> We got it dis That's right. It's

disabled. That's right. That means we

did it on purpose.

>> That's good. Well, that's good preacher.

You go, girl. Didn't she do a phenomenal

for the very thing that we need to be

effective in the kingdom,

>> to be in our hands and in our heart, and

for us to tell the living God of all

creation, "Nah, we're good.

The one thing that multiply uh uh splits

out into different uh different displays

in our heart and manifestations through

us the gifts of the spirit

I just what are we doing?

What that's RIGHT WE ARE WASTING THE

HOLY Spirit's time and investment into

us if we do not tap into the gifts. Wow.

>> And look now, I'm not talking about

being weird.

Let me fix that. We We ain't going to be

weirdos.

There are some people that they were

already weird before the Holy Ghost

filled them.

It's true. We talked about this at

length. Now, what I'm not saying is I'm

not saying that God will not use you in

ways that you did not expect. That's

right.

>> You say, "Well, I'm only let I don't

want to be weird. I want to get out of

my comfort zone." No, he's going to get

you out of your comfort zone.

>> But now, I ain't saying you got to be

some extreme crazy person.

>> Extreme crazy people, they run off the

harvest. We want to bring in the

harvest.

>> Hello.

>> But the fact is there are people and

there are churches that have literally

disabled that function.

of the Holy Spirit in their life

>> because they're afraid what other people

are going to think about them.

>> And they're afraid that the Holy Spirit

is going to scare people away.

Neither one of those I even worry about.

>> I don't care what people think about me.

>> And I mean that in the most loving way.

You can have a forward opinion about me.

You can disagree with something I

believe and teach and that's fine. I

will still love you and I will still

pray for you and I will still see you

the same way, but you're not gonna

change my mind.

try to change my mind about something,

let me go and let you know it's not

going to work.

>> You say, "Well, I like it done like

this." Well, that's just too bad. Go

back where you came from if you like it

>> I believe in what that word of God says.

us with his power and his grace and his

mercy and he fills us overflowing,

thank God for water baptism. It's

powerful. But man, Holy Ghost baptism

takes it to another level.

>> And maybe today that's going to happen

for somebody. I know it's going to

happen for somebody next week.

>> Pentecost Sunday, man. We have the

birthday of the church. Baby, we're

fixing to go buck wild up in this place.

It's going to be awesome. And today was

crazy. You wait till next week. It's

going to be amazing because we're going

to leave room for the Holy Spirit to

breathe. Do whatever he wants to do

>> because I believe there's people in

here.

Can I Can I just be transparent and and

straight with you? I I want to ask this

and this is not this is no shame on

anybody. How many say pastor I have I've

never experienced the baptism of the

Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking

in other tongues. I want you to be brave

and just raise your hand. It's okay.

It's all right. Anybody in the house,

man. Wow. Praise God. And again, like I

said, it makes me not look at you any

differently. But can I tell you this is

a gift that God gave us.

If the enemy gives it, I don't want

nothing to do with it. But when God

gives it to me, I want everything he has

for my life.

>> He is the giftgiver. And I want to be so

TAPPED INTO WHAT HE HAS that everywhere

I go, Jerry Paul, I am operating the

gifts of the spirit. Because this moment

may require my interaction with you may

require one gift, but when I move to the

next family, it may require something

different.

When I go to the restaurant and I give

them a good tip,

>> when you go, don't you be rude because

they don't fill your glass up quick

enough.

>> Come on. They're struggling trying to

raise two kids by theirel. Hello,

somebody.

>> You be so sweet to them and say, "Hey,

if you need help, you put me in the

game. Let's go." You get up and start

waiting tables for them.

>> Okay. When you tip them real good, it's

going to open a door for you to

communicate the gospel with them. And

then the gift of the Holy Spirit that's

in you will come alive and you can begin

to touch their heart with a powerful

word. Maybe God will give you a word of

knowledge for them in that moment. And

they say, "How did you know that about

my life? It's not me. It's the Holy

Spirit." IF YOU'LL POINT BACK TO HIM, HE

WILL USE YOU EVERY SINGLE TIME. AND I

PROMISE YOU, GOD WILL USE YOU IN THAT

RESTAURANT TO BRING HEALING AND POWER

AND STRENGTH TO THEIR LIFE.

>> I'm going to ask you, how many you want

to y'all want? How many you want every

gift that God has for you? Come on. I I

believe that. I'm going to ask you to

stand to your feet all over the house.

Come on, play me out. And let's just

let's go to let's go here for just a

second. I feel the Holy Spirit shift in

the room for just a moment because he is

the giftgiver, but it's going to take a

moment of surrender on our part to see

him do something incredible in our life.

>> It's going to take a surrender in our

heart. I didn't get really hardly any of

the fun stuff, but it's okay.

Can I tell you

stirring when he talks about that in

second Timothy says, "Stir up the gift

of God that's in you." Uh, that is not a

passive word.

That's an active word. How many give me

like 10 more minutes and I'll be done.

I'll let you go. Stirring implies direct

action on your part.

You've got to be willing to go into

action. Watch this. That lets me know

that I'm not the Holy Spirit is not

going to come and just take control of

my body and

>> and make me do anything. That ain't

going to happen.

We are in a partnership with the Holy

Spirit.

>> What do you mean by that, pastor? If he

says, "Stir up the gift that is in you,"

the Holy Spirit's already there. He was

saying, "Stir it up and let it out.

Let him out of your life." The Holy

Spirit imparts or gives gift to gifts to

us as he sees fit. But watch this. Our

partnership to stir up that gift starts

with a responsibility. But what is that

responsibility? It's one word my lady

preached about a little bit last week.

Surrender.

That's it. Surrender.

I love shouting. I love all that. I love

all those things. Dancing. And man,

we'll we will go crazy. We'll have fire

tunnels. We'll do all that stuff. It's

going to be nuts. That's great. But

that's not all Pentecost is.

>> I don't mean that. It's not. I listen. I

was born in the time when you slept

under the pew. You better keep your

hands underneath that pew.

>> Because if not, your little fingers are

going to get stomped by mama's heels and

daddy's shoe. Come on, somebody.

>> And you know what? You're you at my

church at PMY, you weren't even safe

sitting in the pew because them jokers

would start dancing on them pews back

and forth all the way across. It's

crazy. It was wild, y'all.

I y I see some shaking heads. You know

what I'm talking about. It got wild. But

that's that's a that may be a

manifestation of joy and praise and

expression of God's grace in their life.

But that's not all Pentecost is.

Pentecost is an experience that happens

in here first.

>> But when it happens here, the gifts will

manifest out of your life.

>> So you can't say, "Well, I'm filled with

the Holy Ghost, but I don't never pray

for nobody." Well, that's whoa, hold on.

Something ain't right.

We got to fix this.

>> We have to have a complete understanding

of this. Pentecost is about harvest.

>> That's what that celebration was. It's a

feast

>> that was set aside during harvest time.

Why do you think God connected a

pentecost which was in the harvest time

to the day of Pentecost when his spirit

was poured out? Because it's about the

harvest.

It's That's why I say I You may think,

"Pastor, you're crazy talking about

tipping somebody." Listen, if a $20 tip

>> breaks you, you probably don't need to

go out to eat.

>> Amen.

>> And I don't mean that in a rude way, but

that $20 tip you laid down could be the

very thing that opens a door for that

harvest that's that's waiting on you at

that table to say yes to Jesus. They

come get baptized, their family gets

connected, and watch this. Their

heritage becomes an eternity with Christ

instead of what the enemy wants, and

that's to drag them to a devil's hell

because it's about the harvest.

It's about the harvest. Now, watch this.

Watch this.

Our partnership starts with surrender to

his leading and his will. Let me let me

be very, very straightforward. You don't

get to pick the gift that you operate

in.

Amen. Thank you, Lord. That's true.

Because I don't know what is necessary

in that moment, but he does.

>> So, I have to be completely surrendered

to his will and his desire. And that's

the powerful thing about the gifts. It's

not all cart. You don't get dis well

I'll operate in these three, but the

rest of them, God, I don't want to do

that. No. If God chooses you in that

moment to put that on you, you better be

willing to use it.

I see light bulbs coming on right here

all over the house.

But for full activation to take place in

our lives, surrender must lead is what?

Surrender is what leads to action.

>> For us to have full activation. So my

question is, how many of you say,

"Pastor, I'm ready to stir up the gifts

in my life." Y'all ready to stir up the

gifts in your life? All right, I'm gonna

let you go in five minutes. That's

that's my first five minutes. Here's my

second five minutes.

If you have your family with you today,

if you have that privilege, maybe maybe

you don't, maybe you are by yourself,

there'll be somebody on your road row

that will say, "I'll be your family

today. But I'm going to do something

that we used to do back at Pace Assembly

a long time ago. We're going to have a

family altar call." That means everybody

in the room, nobody's left out, so

nobody feels awkward. You got to come

all by yourself. If you have your family

with you, you get with your family. But

if you don't, get somebody beside you

and say, "Hey, will you be my family for

the next five minutes?" And I promise

you, they will. So, I'm going to invite

you right now on the count of three to

come as a family and we're going to

surrender. You ready? One, two, three.

Come on. Let's come as a church family.

Come on. God is so good. God is so so

good. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah. That's right. I love it. I

love it. Nobody by theirel. If you see

somebody sitting by the say, "Hey,

listen. You come with me. I want you to

come be part of my family." Come on. I

He is the giftgiver. Somebody say the

>> And if he is the giftgiver

talking about the Lord, then I want the

gift he wants to give me.

Whatever that looks like, man, this this

is almost like, man, I wish I had a

Christmas tree right here. Everybody

come to the crew. What's what what's

going to be given to me at the

Christmas? I don't know.

>> Because here's the thing. I don't know

what you're going to come up against

today.

But the Holy Spirit does.

And when he knows,

then he will equip you in that moment

with the gift you need to do his will in

that moment.

But it starts with a heart of surrender.

It's not about give me, give me, give

me. It's about God. Whatever you want to

give me, I'm ready. And so what I'm

going to ask you to do as a heart

posture of surrender today is if he is

the giftgiver, go to that next that oh

sorry Sarah there he said fan in the

flame the gift of God which is in you

through the laying on of my hands. Fan

into flame the gift of God. Today our

heart posture is and our surrender is

Lord whatever you have for me I want it

and I surrender to it but Lord help me

to fan it into flame so it can be used

for your glory. So all over this house

I'm going to ask you just to raise your

hands to heaven

to signal our heart posture

in this moment. We we are a Pentecostal

church. We believe in the gifts. We

believe in the manifestation of the

gifts. I feel like this was an

assignment that God put on my heart. If

we're going to really see this, it's

going to be activated. We got to

surrender to it first. So right now in

your own words, I want you to say,

"Lord, I believe you give me gifts and

Lord, I'm ready to receive them. So

Lord, I surrender to your will." However

that prayer comes out for you, whatever

that sounds like, whatever you need to

crucify as flesh inside of your heart

that would keep you from receiving the

gift of God. So Lord, as pastor of this

house, I will not I will not quench the

Holy Spirit, but Lord, I will fan into

flames the gifts in these people's

lives. You have called me to equip them.

You have called me, God, to lead them.

You have called me to do that. So Lord,

I surrender to what you've called me to

do. I surrender to this moment. I

surrender this time. I surrender, God,

for the fact that there is a harvest of

souls you are asking us to reach. And

God, I surrender to the operation of

your spirit. I surrender to your

spiritual gifts being passed out and

given to your people. I surrender to

your will and the promise of your word.

God, I see it. I receive it. I believe

it. And today, we surrender to you. Here

we are. Equip us with the best gift.

Equip us with the power of the Holy

Spirit. Equip us with your grace and

your mercy. Let it come. Let it be an

anointing. Let it flow through us, God.

We surrender everything we have to you.

Our mind, our will, our emotions. We lay

it down at your feet. Use us. Flow

through us, God. Anoint us. Give us the

gift that you desire for us to have. Let

us walk in it. Let us prosper in it. Let

us be used in it. We thank you. We give

you glory. We give you honor in the name

of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Now I

dare you to give God a little bit of

praise in the house for his gift and his

power and his anointing. Hallelujah.
